What BNHA Got Wrong: Actions and Consequences
Hoo boy... this fucking topic.
Actions and consequences are a rather simple concept, do something and expect something to follow up whether it be something good or bad. Very simple right?
Well in BNHA... it's completely twisted.
For example: Shota Aizawa and just how he acts overall.
This man literally plays god with the fate of his student's future in UA and has the fucking audacity to be all
"You all lost my trust and now you'll have to work on earning it back."
And then there's the way he treats Izuku as a whole when Bakugou is literally a walking red flag. It's fine if Bakugou goes around calling people mean nicknames and yelling die every ten seconds, but it's wrong for Izuku for not knowing how to control his quirk that he literally got a few days ago and for "supposedly" agreeing to fight with Bakugou after curfew.
Oh, and the guy's also a hypocrite for getting onto All Might for playing favorites but does it with Shinsou over his entire class.
Now none of this would be a problem if someone actually called him out on his bullshit and hypocrisy and be like
"Hey! You're kind of going against your own logic you placed and haven't done shit for this class."
But... nobody does. They literally treat him like he's this super genius that has done so much for these kids and is a second parent to them when in actually, he's a bum that sleeps most of the time.
Then there's Bakugou... do I even need to explain?
But one thing I WILL talk about regarding him is the difference in how people say
"Well he lost the Licence Exam and died in the war! Those gotta count as consequences!"
No, not really.
Those would count more as KARMIC consequences than something directly linked to the horrible stuff he's done.
Not ONCE do any of the characters call either of them out for their actions nor do they face any consequences for their actions, but they're PRAISED and looked upon fondly where the characters that DO face consequences doesn't deserve it.
I.E Izuku with the House Arrest and Sero with the final exam.

I hate when you can tell how young a fandom is. MHA for instance is so full of youngins and their views of black and white mentality.
If I see another quirkless vigilante Deku and All Might bashing on my feed imma scream.
Was All Might supposed to tell this quirkless kid who almost got killed by sludge yes you can be a hero be fucking for real.
Deku would’ve got killed by the first villain he fought come on now. He’s smart but that isn’t a quirk he’s just smart so is Bakugo and even he almost got killed by sludge with quirks.
Can you imagine Deku going up against Stain or Dabi with no quirk in what world is he surviving?
Just because he’s quirkless doesn’t make him Batman and let’s be honest Batman only wins through plot armor if Superman randomly decided to flick Batman into space because his voice was annoying him in a meeting he’d be dead.
Also bashing all might and not aizawa who was canonically an asshole is questionable. Will never understand or his mom who legit said sorry and was crying for him.
May not have been what he wanted to hear but she was being realistic parents fuck up it doesn’t make them bad parents.

A quick vent but this really bothered me
Why do people like All Might bashing so much? Like, what's the point? Especially since most of it is so out of character that it's just painful to read. Like, he's not flawless (that's kinda the point of his character - breaking the illusion of perfection.) But writing him as abusive/mean is just ridiculous, taking into consideration that his big *thing* is wanting good for others.
Today I saw a fic where the whole plot was basically "Aizawa is a good dad to Izuku who's diagnosed with autism, while All Might is horrible and ableist." Excuse me, but WHAT?? Ah yes, that man who's famously DISABLED, would totally be ableist and think that accommodation for a disabled student is "too much" and "unnecessary." That man who needs constant medical assist, who had to change his whole life to accommodate to his disability. Yeaaaaah, right.
Also, why are so many of AM bashing fics at the same time putting other teachers on pedestal. Aizawa was pretty awful to Izuku at the beginning, because he's a very judgemental person who needed to learn that he's sometimes wrong about others and that Izuku had a lot to offer. He certainly wasn't a perfect teacher, none of the UA teachers were. Aizawa got a great character development and later on was a good, dedicated teacher who sacrificed a lot for his kids. But treating him like he's a total angel who would never do anything wrong is just incorrect, especially considering that he's rough on students that are different from the rest in the way he considers "bad".
It really rubs me the wrong way when people literally ignore canon personalities of characters, break and reshape them into something those characters never were. You want a bad mentor for Izuku? Write an AU where his mentor is AFO. Write a villain AU where All Might is the bad guy and he's using Izuku as a tool. Or literally make an OC at this point. Just work with a different character that actually matches what you want to portray. Make Endeavour Izuku's mentor. Literally anything works better than trying to make All Might into a bad, cruel and abusive person. That's exactly the thing he'd never do.
I'm all for interpretations that focus more on the negative side of various characters - it can be very interesting. But some of y'all really just decided that you don't like AM for some reason and decided to rewrite the whole character, turning him inside out, to fit your personal issues with him. Issues that simply aren't there

Aizawa, a tired dad and king of sarcasm: What horrible thing has Izuku done this time?
All Might: he committed multiple crimes! He's committing vigilantism right now!
Vigilante Izuku: So?
Aizawa: Izuku, please.
Aizawa, turning back to All Might: So?

You know what annoys me most about the entire Yagi and Inko bashing? Canonically EVERY adult has failed Izuku, every single one of them, (even Aizawa, especially Aizawa). However it's only Yagi and Inko who realized their own mistakes and tried to make amends and yet it's them who get most hated meanwhile Aizawa did fuck all for Izuku and yet the fandom treats him like a sagely perfect teacher because muhmuhm he expels kids to give them fear of death

i just really want to see a fic where 1-a has a unit on dealing with civilians in the aftermath of a villain attack, and midoriya starts asking questions like “are there any special circumstances where you don’t have to stick with the civilian after the attack and take care of them, take their statement, make sure they’re alright, etc?” and aizawa being like “literally. none?” and being surprised that midoriya of all people asks about not prioritizing rescue and civilian’s wellbeing and then midoriya’s like “but that one time all might-“ and actually realizes that all might violated hero codex by just leaving him immediately after he was literally fucking drowned in most likely toxic sludge and then, on top of that, left him alone on a roof after breaking his childhood dream and didn’t even make sure he had a safe way of getting down and that was absolutely inexcusable, illegal and not okay, and then aizawa connects the dots and goes absolutely fucking feral.

can’t sleep. thinking about how fandom characterization of eraserhead is off the mark and we need more canon Aizawa appreciation.
the core aspects of Aizawa Shouta are: tired, Bastard, boring old man.
he may have dad energy but he’s a reluctant dad that doesn’t get that his neurodivergent kids need extra help bc he doesn’t realize he himself is neurodivergent and needs help. he’s the middle-aged dad that says we aren’t getting a pet dog and then he’s the pet dog’s favorite. he’s a rational downer that poops your party. he is the most boring man alive. this man does NOT fuck. he barely eats or sleeps or talks to other people. if he has free time that he isn’t spending napping he MAYBE goes out to pet some stray cats. you think this bitch goes to clubs? has one night stands? he can barely take care of himself why would he ever have prolonged interaction with another human being that wasn’t for work? and also he’s a total bastard. will fight for his kids? yes. absolute 100% bastard that causes grief on purpose bc he can? also yes. he’s trying, sure, but also he has his head up his ass and deserves to be put into a little jar and shaken a bunch.
i’m tired of sexy-wonderful-teacher-perfect-husband-material-best-dad fanon aizawa. I want more asshole-boring-mess-of-a-man canon aizawa

No cause the way all three of the popular ships for the Todoroki brothers are based purely off tropes with the actual dynamics sucking big time😭😭😭"Dabihox is an enemies to lovers ship!!!"And then Dabi is a disabled abuse survivor while Hawks is a cop."Todo///baku is opposites attract!!!"And then Shouto is breaking the cycle of abuse while Bakugou is perpetuating it,partially onto Shouto himself no less."Shiga///natsu is ordinary person x supervillain!!!"And then the only connection Nastuo and Shigaraki have is Shigaraki trying to kill Natsuo's baby brother while Shigaraki basically has a bf(Spinner).Yet they act like Dabitwice,Todomomo and Natsuo and his gf are the 'forced' couples in the same breath.Gworl...

Izuku snaps
Basically I had an idea where Izuku beats the shit out of Mineta for being a perv and gets taken to Aizawa’s office. He gets detention for harming a fellow student and snaps. I couldn’t really get the energy to write the surrounding plot, so here’s the conversation that he and Aizawa have.
“-detention.” Izuku can almost hear the last thread of his sanity strain and then snap.
“What.”
“You can’t expect to beat up another student with no consequences—” But Izuku just stands and makes his way to the door, barely hearing what his teacher is saying. “— Midoriya, I did not say we were done yet.”
Izuku pauses, hand on the door knob. “Kacchan was never punished,” he murmurs.
“Excuse me?”
“He’s attacked me outside of training exercises so many times. He constantly antagonizes me, hurts me. And you’ve never punished him. The most you’ve ever done is stop him from hitting me and given him a warning.” He rounds on Aizawa, getting in his space. “So why am I here, huh? What is it about me that’s so terrible that it makes everyone fucking hate me?”
“Midoriya-”
“No! Because it’s always my fault, right? Just talk to him Deku, just keep your head down Deku, stop being so sensitive Deku, maybe if you’re quiet and stay still he won’t hurt you today, Deku! And really, Deku, you were asking for it with that attitude, stop antagonizing him! And people- people like you, who pretend to be all worried but still let it happen, still encourage it. That’s why I’m always paired up with him for every exercise, yeah? So we can work out our issues by, what, lobbing punches at each other? No no no, you just can’t legally get away with hitting me. Just- fucking- get it over with already! It’s not like I could tell anyone! Hurt me so I can stop hoping that it still could be different here! Do it! Punch me, rough me up, I can’t fight back, right? Get rid of my quirk, make me useless again because then at least I’ll have an excuse to be such a fuck up!”

Blaming Kids for Shit Beyond Their Control... WTF Hori?
So this post was inspired by another post when @sapphic-agent answered an ask by @nutzgunray-lvt about Victim Blaming and how people in BNHA seems to think it's 1-A's responsibility to be people pleasers to "make up" for the trouble they caused.
Uhh, excuse me?
What trouble DID they cause?!
Getting stuck in situations that weren't any of their faults?
Getting injured and even traumatized during those events?
Hori, I have to ask... have you ever met another person? Or even see how others act when a group goes through some shit? Because I can tell you they would NOT blame the group for being in the center of shit that just happens to them!
People are not this stupid and ignorant when it comes to this kind of topic Hori!
Sure there might be some assholes that might try to victim blame, but most of them would try to be sympathetic and reassure them that everything will be okay!
They WOULDN'T be acting like they CHOSE to go any of that just to get popular and as far as I know, none of them ever talked about the shit they went through would probably get them more recognized!
Fuck Aizawa for letting it happen and just letting others talk shit about 1-A!
Fuck the stupid-ass people blaming for getting in situations that was beyond their control!
And fuck the writing for NEVER going deeper into this and having the kids call this shit out!!

the latest is like 'wow is so shitty that bakugou took credit for killing afo' and the response is literally no he didn't, were y'all blinking really hard when he said 'I couldn't do it alone'
I'm sorry one of the main characters killed one of the main antagonists but honestly what were you expecting?
it's honestly getting kinda tiresome rebutting yalls arguments in my head

Hey folks, you know what time it is >:D
Time to shit on Aizawa again. This time, it's more related to the Fandom than Aizawa along.
So, EVERYONE in this fucking fandom loves spewing the Headcanon that Aizawa got into 1-A via wining the Sports Festival. After a late night binge of RC and insomnia, I have devised that that HC is bullshit, based on how Class Changes actually work, and one BIG timeline placement.
See, When we first see Aizawa and Mic as young friends, it's when they're choosing their Hero Names for Internships.
That's it, that's the point. Aizawa straight up COULDN'T have been shifted to 1-A after the Sports Fest, due to Shinso still being in 1-C by the time of the Joint Training Arc. Ergo, Aizawa got into 1-A via the Entrance Exam, meaning he got into, at minimum, the top 36 of the Hero Course Examinees. This kinda makes Shinso a even bigger depressing joke than before.
But overall, this makes the Last Thing Aizawa and his Mega Fans have, that being his grumping over the Entrance Exam being biased, be Semi-Bullshit. It is kinda biased, but what Physical Exam isn't? Who's gonna do better, a Sprinter or a Genius, in a Sprint? Obviously, the Sprinter.
And that kinda leads into why Shinso makes me... Annoyed. He's a idiot, plain and simple. And a asshole, but nonetheless.
See, he wants to be a Hero, but to return to the Sprinter VS Genius analogy, he's neither. He's a Musician amongst Sprinters and Geniuses. He's a Tank with 10 STR and 90 DEX, a Doctor who specializes in Autopsies.
He wants to be a hero, yet he put no effort into making himself Strong in any way, and then bitches about the Entrance Exam as if it's the Exam's fault that he failed.
Aizawa got in, despite having a quirk that's useless against Robots. You know why? He's a Sprinter, not a musician, I'll give Aizawa that.
And then Aizawa ignores his class, as per usual, and trains Shinso. Fucking Aizawa...
(Look I know Japanese Homeroom teachers don't actually, y'know, Teach, but they're supposed to help their students with their issues, organize events, and generally hold the Students Trust like a second parent. And what does Aizawa constantly do? Break their trust. Stop simping for this man, he doesn't deserve it.)

My Hero Acadamia- Quirkless!Izuku Au
Okay, so I really just don't care much for the whole 'it's such a big deal that UA accepts quirkless into the hero course' and them not expand on it. (Unless the do in the Manga, I haven't been able to read the manga yet.) also I just hate All Might sooooo I'm changing the story.
Also fair warning if i ever make this into a fic I will do all the research into Japanese culture but for now I'm not going to write anything that would match it.
Okay so first thing I would change is why the flying fuck would they not have Izuku already be training? If the boy was actively trying to be a hero and get into UA as the first quirkless kid in the hero course then why wouldn't he be training?
Second thing I would change is his interactions with All Might after the sludge villain, this man already told Izuku he couldn't eb a quirkless hero. I figure that he would be a little ticked off and when All Might suggest he train enough to give him his quirk this is how the conversation would go in the AU.
All Might: You can become a hero
Izuku completely unimpressed and still pissed
All Might: You are worthy to inherit my power
Izuku: Inherit your power?
All Might: Listen young man. You need to decide whether or not you'll accept my power! blah blah blah he explains the power
Izuku: Right but that doesn't make sense *Insert the same muttering thing he did in the show*
All Might: Just listen! The power to transfer power That is the Quirk I inherited. *explains One for all*
Izuku: Why are you giving me something so great?
All Might: I have been looking for a successor, and then, I thought it would be alright for you to inherit it. You are just a quirkless hero fanboy. But you were more heroic than anyone else back there. It's up to you though. What do you say?
All might will whole heartedly believe that Izuku'll want the power, so he'll expect him to say yes.
Izuku: No thanks. I don't really appreciate the offer either.
All Might: Perf...wait, no? But you said you wanted to be a hero!
Izuku: and I do, I will, but I won't need a quirk to do it. I should Thank you though. With the quirkest bullshit you spewed I now have even more motivation. You'll see, I'll become the greatest hero. and I'll do it all while being quirkless!
All Might: You'll never make it past the entrance exam!
Izuku: Watch me.
Izuku begins to walk away, but turns to All Might: And don't worry, your secrets are safe.
Izuku will then continue to walk home where he will be passing through a sketchy part of town and be grabbed by some rando. This guy will be trying to mug him, Aizawa (yes I'm making it a Dadzawa fic, yes I am aware that he also has flaws. soooo) will have been on his way to pick up take out food for him and Hizashi. (yes I will also be making it erasermic and Dadmic) when he will here the smallest whimper come form Izuku while he himself is walking past the alley.
Cue Aizawa fighting the mugger. After Aizawa will turn to Izuku to make sure he's okay then Izuku will collapse into a coughing fit because of the sludge villain almost drowning him earlier that day. Aizawa will get immediately concerned and Izuku will explain that he was attacked but he was saved. Aizawa will get pissed because he was never brought to emergency services and take him there.
While they are at the hospital Aizawa stays with Izuku until his mother comes. Izuku asks about his being a hero and explaining he knew because of the few videos and his scarf and goggles etc. then they end up having a conversation that will probably go something like this
Aizawa: So kid why did this hero not immediately take you to emergency services?
Izuku trying to keep it vague: the hero was in a rush and I kinda grabbed onto him to ask him a question we landed on a roof and he revealed some things then I asked him my question.
Aizawa: What exactly was your question?
Izuku: ah...well...I asked if a quirkless kid could be a hero...
Aizawa: I'm going to assume by your reaction this hero said no?
Izuku: Yeah, but that won't stop me! I'll just prove him wrong with petty and spite.
Aizawa: What kind of fight training are you doing? And have you gotten any support items approved?
Izuku: Ah...well...
and then Aizawa will set up times for them to meet so he can train him and get him a support item. He'll then leave his phone number for Izuku as he lives when Inko gets there. They go home and Izuku takes down his All Might stuff, he vaguely explains that he met All Might and that he wasn't as great as he thought, but he was going to sell the stuff and keep the money for the UA things he'll need. Inko immediately supports. Katsuki redemption arc begins.
Izuku starts meeting Aizawa a few times weekly. Aizawa trains him to fight, and use support items. (I'm thinking things like, swords, and throwing knives, and ninja stars possibly. and an extending and pull apart bow staff) They continued to train and Aizawa would check on his meal plans and changed them where needed. The two will grow very attached to each other.
One day about a month before the UA exam it will be a day that Izuku and Aizawa do not meet and Izuku is demanded by Aizawa to take a break that day so he does. the second he walks into his and Inko's apartment he smells the most awful smell. He investigates and finds Inko dead. (I'm sorry!!!) he panics and screams bloody murder and neighbors hear and call the cops. The cops will arrive and take Deku into custody per protocol.
While at the station Deku is brought to a interrogation room. He never fully calmed down and is still softly crying. Detective Tsukauchi will walk in and ask him a few questions about if Izuku would ever have the motive to kill his mother and blah blah blah the typical interrogation questions. once Tsukauchi confirms that Izuku is innocent he will leave the interrogation room and find Eraserhead there to talk about an upcoming case or something. Aizawa finds out about Izuku and immediately uses the emergency foster license that him and Hizashi have.
we go throught the mourning process for Izuku, he gets nightmares Aizawa and Hizashi comfort him and they both train him a month later is the UA exam and Izuku as his support items approved and everything moved into the Yamada-Aizawa household. Izuku of course passes, but not at the top. he's at the fifth spot to still super high up. Him and Katsuki both open there letters together because they are so excited, also Bakugo will have been included in the whole process of his training, Aizawa won't have trained him but he would spar with Izuku when needed.
They both get in a find out they are in the same class with Aizawa as teacher. then in the I'm going to assume about three weeks between the acceptance letters and first day Katsuki and Izuku hang out and spar with Aizawa supervising the latter.
okay! so That's what I have for this AU so far. let me know what you think! also if you can't tell this is kinda heavily base on PastelGlitterPen's fic "Can We Keep Him?" series.
