Damian's entire body shifted from anger, shock and to sorrow, his voice was wobbling "What..?" Bruce took a few seconds to recognize his words and immediately reached out "I didn't mean that, I'm sorry Damian"
Damian was staring at the ground. Dick looked like he just got shocked, Jason stopped working on his motorcycle and looked over, Stephanie and Tim stopped sparring, Cass was stone-faced and Duke dropped his weapon that he was using in the simulation. Damian moved away from Bruce's reach and became tense.
"BRUCE THOMAS WAYNE!" The cave went silent as Alfred Pennyworth's booming voice echoed. Everyone stopped moving and possibly breathing as well. Damian's eyes were welling with tears and as much as he may like to hear Alfred scold his father, what was said made Damian storm out. Before leaving, he glanced at Alfred, Alfred looked back at Damian and looked remorseful. Damian went upstairs and left the scene to his room.
Who knows how far Alfred's voice was in Gotham. Maybe Metropolis could hear it. Gotta bet that the Kent's ears were ringing now.
Because I unwillingly died that means he can't trust me? It's bullshit, after everything! I've changed, I don't kill because I wanted to be accepted into this family and now I enjoy doing things in the name of Justice that doesn't involve murder. Yet he'll find any reason to not trust me. Why am I never enough like the others? Father brought Richard in after the tragedy of the Graysons. Father took in Jason when seeing his condition and wanting to make a change for the child he was. Father saw the talents that Timothy upheld and the two worked. Father took in Cassandra when she needed it most. Father helped Duke when he went through a severe thing and was taken in as to not be alone. The only other one who could say wasn't exactly wanted is Stephanie, but even she's more capable and father sees that. Yet I was dropped off by mother and hurt this family. It feels as if I'm not part of it. Outcast, unwanted, violent and unstable. I HATE THIS!

Damian looked at the person, Bruce looked upset, not a Damian, but at himself from the looks of it. Damian shrugged and Bruce took that as a yes, sitting next to Damian.
"There is no excuse to my words. I can only apologize for my idiocy and hope you can forgive me. I understand if you don't, I don't expect an immediate response. You don't deserve that, you've been through so much and you didn't have a choice. It's irresponsible of me to have used that against you"
"Tt. You're getting sentimental father"
"What can I say? You are my children, I can't help but lower my walls unfortunately it took me so long to let you all in"
"A trip to the zoo plus ice cream and maybe I'll forgive you"

"Tomorrow, I'll make it happen"
Damian nodded and gave Bruce a quick hug before standing up as if nothing happened. Bruce smiled and got up, he stopped before closing the door when he heard Damian.
"Thank you father, as painful as it may be to remember my place... I can say that I do cherish this family I have made. Thanks to you I am able to see it"

Thinking. Abt this but with Bones. Like. Post-Tholian Web? Post-Mirror Mirror?
For AOS, could be after Into Darkness and/or Beyond.
A Bones who's just. So anxious. So stressed. So overwhelmed that it starts taking a toll on his health. Maybe he doesn't even realise - or maybe he does and tries his best to push through it until it knocks him on his ass. Kind of in the vein of "You don't actually know how tired you are until you stop. And then you just physically cannot start again." It becomes his new baseline, a problem that just brews and storms in the distance.
And he just carries on. And keeps going and going and going until one day he realises that 'Oh fuck, I'm not okay' and has about 5 seconds of warning before he straight up collapses, doesn't matter if it's on the bridge, in the madbay, on a planet - he's going down. (Maybe a repeat of Tholian Web where he just straight up faints into Spock's arms? Full whammy, why not)
Maybe it's a high-tension situation getting resolved that does it. The pure relief of it reminds him of how tired he is. How tired he's been for a while. His body sees that momentary rest and goes "More of that, please. And I'm not asking."
And he's so rendered by it that he doesn't grumble about being coddled like he normally would when he wakes up. He knows not to fuck with the medbay staff - they're just as firm as he is on recovery, and that's not by accident - and he knows that Spock and Kirk will be hovering, because they see any problem as something they, too, should shoulder the burden of.
...And because they're some of the most protective people in the damned universe. And that goes for pretty much all the people on board the Enterprise.
In some scenarios, it's just a case of letting his body and mind rest properly. In others, there's a lot more recovery involved than anyone initially expects. Luckily for him, he has a found family who are determined to be there with him at every step. It just takes a couple reminders, every once in a while.

And then he suddenly keeps it to himself. When he complains#abt that whole fiasco he complains abt Jim dying. Abt Spock almost dying on that planet. About how they all almost died. But he doesn't tal#about how HE almost died from that fucking torpedo almost blowing up on him. Not a word. Jim forgot it had even happened until like. Carol#brings it up in passing. Maybe she has nightmares on the incident. But he realises Bones has just NEVER fucking mentioned it despite him#being the master complainer. That sets off the first alarm bells. And then maybe Uhura asks Jim how Bones is doing bc she knows that Bones#would just say he's fine. But Jim is like ??? Bc why wouldn't Bones be okay. And then she realises that HE HASN'T realised that Bones is th#kind of motherfucker to suffer in silence. and she's like Jim. Jim he literally ran himself to the ground trying to revive you. Jim. Are yo#kidding me have you NOT TALKED ABOUT THAT??? ANY OF IT??? Thus... Jim realises or maybe even Remembers what Bones is like#bc maybe at some point he DID know Bones well enough to know when he's fucking himself over. But all the Bullshit that theyve gone through#and the fact they work in entirely different parts of the ship kind of. Alienated them a bit. And suddenly hes like. Oh. Oh No. Oh FUCK.#because Jesus how the FUCK does he even approach this. But he manages it. And Spock gets in on it too as he slowly gets to know the doctor#And then post-beyond its like. Yeah. All three of them gang up on each other. That includes Spock and Kirk making sure Bones is as Fine as#he always says he is.#anyway. Yeah. I am enjoying red hood: the hill, but it's kind of driving me crazy how after they did all that shit in Gotham War, they immediately tried to sweep it under the rug with joker: the man who stopped laughing (even tho the issue wasn't really resolved over there), and now giving Jason a series set in the past so it doesn't have to deal with the fallout...DC please...
#ramblings of a lunatic#dc comics#I heard someone say that the next installment of dc vs vampires is seemingly the last thing Matthew Rosenberg has lined up at DC#which is a shame bc after reading his red hood: gotham war tie-in issues i think he has a pretty decent handling on Jason#the complicated and oft times contradictory line he walks between what violence is necessary and what isn't#but his sympathetic elements and charm are still on display#sigh. i need to read task force z don't i#one day I'll read under the red hood in full to get a taste of full on villain!jason#if i stick w/ GA past the phsycial volume i own I'm bound to come across him again and see if ppl are being normal abt the mia thing#idk I think jason as a character has somewhat suffered due to the fact that his character development was very much connected-#-w the n52 reboot#which worked at the time but now that a lot of that continuity is being brought back#it's making ppl realise that we didn't get a true ''jason putting aside differences to try and work w/ the batfamily'' arc or moment#although I do remember him being anti-heroic in the final crisis tie-in?? with kyle and donna right????#i honestly think jason just needs a bit of tlc and introspection and this new storybeat provides a cool outlet for that#(someone talk to me about my red hood idea/pitch pretty pleasseee)#and definitely some cleaning up of his continuity (maybe after some more universe altering events. sigh)#but instead of hopping right on that when they have the opportunity we're getting an (admittedly fun) flashback series#in which jason is more of a co-star than headliner#bwahhh

series 3 is so frustrating because there is like a shining core of pure diamond underneath the problems . like conceptually it rocks so incredibly hard. but the problems
#dr who#i am being so honest when i say ten should have gotten on his knees and begged for simm!master's life#they should have framed the bit between him and martha's mom so different#like yes it is 10000% in character that the doctor with his bleeding heart and loneliness wouldn't want to kill him#even after everything that happened. because he's the only person he has left. 'i forgive you' was PERFECT.#but literally anyone else that suffered from what the master did. Deserves to rip him to shreds. so very obviously#and like i know.i KNOW that i am watching the 'funny immortal alien saves people through time and space' show#but i actually despise the doctor being framed as like an all powerful savior. or treated like one. even for a little bit. is Annoying#the first part of the series 3 finale having martha be humanity's last hope was SO GOOD bc it like kind of set her up as like#having to grapple with all that responsibility and attention like the doctor does. everyone's lives are in her hands. so crunchy#but when it like slides into 'everyone pls believe in our specialest boy in the world The Doctor <3' it just. falls flat#i feel like with a couple tweaks here and there in the execution and like actual fuckinnn people of color in the writer's room#series 3 would be PEAK media. but as it is it's just. falling short.#i do really appreciate martha deciding to leave ten on her own though. first of all. qpp down. second of all#she's realized that she can't keep traveling with him. bc (as i mentioned) hes someone who simultaneously needs saving#and refuses to be saved in the ways that matter. The 'Enjoying watch you suffer' line in Broadcast has always been hard to pin down; Tim's leg getting broken is the biggest incident in Entry #35, so it's natural to want to tie the two together, but it seems to fit so indelicately into what we know about the timeline of totheark's internal relationship that it almost causes more problems than it resolves. However, even though it's very blink and miss it, Tim does actually manage to stab Alex in the arm before he gets knocked down -- we hear Alex cry out in pain, can see blood on the blade when Jay picks it up, and then in the recovered corrupted footage from that tape that Jay posts as Entry #36 Alex says "I did what I had to... he'd just stabbed me" -- and that injury being what totheark was trying to call attention to, to me, reads a lot more clear and consistent than anything else does

We do know that Tim and Brian separated#like Right after they'd managed to separate Jay and Jess but IDK if that separation would account for the kind of anger implied in#the sentiment 'enjoying watching you suffer' you know? And Jay doesn't get Tim's medical records until s3 - which we KNOW#is the Final Death Knell in TTA's relationship and i don't think Brian would have sat on those for so long so i feel like he hadn't#found them by this point in s2 - that must have come later. so That makes this line feel so out of place in their relationship#BUT if Brian is paying more attention to Alex than Tim at this point then it makes A Lot more sense if it's directed at him#and since the creators Specifically included that corrupted footage that makes Sure to get 'he stabbed me' clear in audio AND#in Jay's subtitles - I wonder if that's an attempt to draw attention to that injury and maybe clarify the TTA upload a little bit?#OR you know maybe I'm reading into it all too much but hey. with this series that's actually a pretty solid living so#mh lb#i'm rewatching bc i'm about to start giving the Bleed More fic another attempt at getting finished and finalized so. keep an eye out :3c

I love Nicolas and I know he's not the main character but it's so so sad that he's good and has suffered approximately as much as Betty and yet he had the bad luck of falling for someone as unreachable as Don Armando but not as good as him. He doesn't get his happy ending like Betty does because Patricia started as a cruel deceiving hag and ended exactly the same. That's why he's down and drunk at the wedding ceremony. I can't take it

There’s a general consensus that above all else Jason should be homicidal again. However I think what’s also very important is that he should be a fucking hoot.
There’s nothing not funny about this entire bit.
1. He couldn’t give less of a shit about explaining that he’s single-handedly trying to stop a terrorist attack. Obviously cause he’s short on time, but even if he had all the time in the world he would still be this indifferent towards explaining himself to cops.
2. This bomb is seconds away from exploding but he’s at most mildly annoyed like he’s in the office doing some menial task.
3. The perfectly timed British jokes.
4. Circling back to number 1 on the list. After he throws the bomb into the water he just dips. For all they know he’s the (weird) terrorist. (But as long as everyone’s okay he doesn’t care! The beauty of Jason Todd everybody).
This one is funny (but it’s also true)? Like yes … that is exactly what you are. (A sweet, kind-hearted goodboy learning how to effectively poison people, shoot guns, and blow shit up with all manner of explosives like a certified pro).

“Not so irritating for an American” is a far more impressive title than “genius” if you ask me. Although I think Jason balances both pretty well.
#lost days was actually a comedy it gets funnier every time I reread it#look I know in recent days he’s become more serious/glum as a character#he’s sorta detached from people and situations and he seems to have lost his spunk#and my mind is zoning in on Zdarsky. him feeling immense guilt and burden over people he kills.#which like. even Matt Murdock fans said Zdarsky leaned a bit too heavily into Catholic guilt lol#Jason should be like this again#boiling inside him is untamed rage and pain and hurt but the jokes keep rolling off his tongue in an endless stream#just as playful with his words as he is with his bombs and takeover plans#from moments like the bomb under the bridge or even just the 'nice boy' comment#you see just how much he not only doesn’t care about being labelled a hero for his actions but how he actively detests it even#it’s one of the things that makes him so endearing to me like: look at this humble kind kid who loves and cares for the world immeasurably#(even after all he’s suffered from it)#but refuses to ever take credit for it#jason todd#red hood#red hood: the lost days#lost days#dc

Look, Ant and Dec are always warm, likeable and entertaining. That’s their job. But what’s most interesting about Ant & Dec’s DNA Journey is not these qualities applied to an ancestry-chasing concept. It’s the thing that happened after filming began and how they deal with it in the show. A few years ago Ant was revealed to have a serious substance-abuse problem and ended up going to rehab. The bulk of this week’s episode was filmed just before that; then production came to a halt for two years. Ten minutes before the end of this programme they explain why there’s a big time jump between episode one and next Tuesday’s episode two by addressing the issue head on. It’s quite affecting, to be honest.
Dec talks about the anger he felt at the time, and Ant talks about his sorrow for how his actions affected his friend, and they both say how much they care about each other. In fact, even before this, all the really interesting things in this show are about their immediate lives, not those of their ancestors – Dec's family connections to Tyneside Irish Centre, the fact that Ant has a troubled relationship with his absentee father, the pair of them walking their dogs.
It made me realise that what I'd really like to see is a fly-on-the-wall documentary about being Ant and Dec. I mean, forget all those olden daysers in the horrible past. What's it like to be an umbilically attached light-entertainment duo who must glide frictionlessly over the surface of life with quips and japes? What's that really like? - source
#dna journey#the author KNOWS#i want to make a cut of dna journey that only contains those interesting bits the author mentions#(mostly so that i don't have to fast forward through it on a rewatch haha)#but dec talking about how sad he got after getting over his initial anger#when he started thinking of how ant must have felt#and that ultimately care and compassion and love were stronger and he just wanted him to be happy again#😭😭😭😭😭😭#to be able to take this perspective is HUGE!!!!#and in media i feel we hardly ever get to hear from the loved ones of addicts#so it's so interesting to hear dec's perspective#and than for that perspective to be of someone who cares so deeply about the person afflicted with addiction is so so special#the strength of a relationship to be able to survive addiction!#the love they have and the work they must have put in 😭😭😭😭#it can also give hope to people suffering from addiction and their loved ones :)
