Firmus Piett Study/Notes.

I said I’d post my process/notes on how I taught myself to draw Piett. Enough people asked, so here we are. Anyways! I’m absolute garbage at doing tutorials so I’ll do my best to explain this.

First thing I did with Piett was take note of what my eyes notice about him first. His eyes and brow structure are what caught my attention first. Piett’s eyes are very noteworthy, not because of the color but shape. The way his lower eyelid seems to connect almost into his high cheek bone then curve back around to his temple. His eyes look large but they’re not. He’s not Steve Buscemi. It’s his eyelids that are large.

Next thing I notice are how harsh his brow lines are. Even when his face is lax, his brows look furrowed. Also I took note of how light his eyebrows are and that you can barely notice them. I decided a simple line got the message across and I need not worry about drawing his eyebrows in. The other feature, which brings it all together is how deep Piett’s eyes sit in his skull. (Another thing that makes him unique to Buscemi) Look at how harsh and sharp the shadows his nose ridge casts and how far.

On Severus it was his nose and hair that stuck out, with Firmus it’s his eyes and brow. Like Severus, Piett has noticeable cheek bones. With Piett they are not as sharp or narrow as, let’s say, Tarkin, but they are noticeable regardless. The mistake I’ve seen in some Piett art is that they narrow his face. Sharp cheek bones don’t equal narrow face with sharp chin. Piett’s facial structure is rather boxy, though looks narrow at certain angles. Listen, this man’s face breaks physics.

Snape’s nose was very important to getting him to be recognizable, though Piett doesn’t have a crazy unique nose, I still pay close attention to it’s shape. I notice his nose bridge adds to his harsh brow lines. Firmus also has narrow lips, but his top lip is much thinner than its bottom counterpart. I give Piett what I call “seagull lips”. The final point is the deep lines that seem to litter his face. These lines differ from angle and expression. (Though I did notice Piett’s facial lines got much deeper in ROTJ. In reality that could just be Colley aging, but we all know Vader ages people exponentially)

All this combined, I went from detail (photo references) to as simple as I can get to keep his likeness, even as going as far as to not use curved lines. This helps me to see simple shape and see how his obvious features work with the rest of his face. I’ve learned this forces me not to get lost in the nooks and crannies of a face where one can get lost and lose the structure.

I hope this helps, or satisfies the curios. As a final note, I’ll list some things I learned about our Admiral’s face that I didn’t notice before.

Piett’s nostrils seem to “flare” even at ‘rest’.

His eye’s aren’t as large as I initially thought. Their deep setting in the skull and thick eyelids trick you.

Piett’s Digastric muscle obscures his jaw shape depending on angle and position he has his head. Threw me off big time as I tend to aim style-wise towards narrow necks.

(Not anatomy related) His ‘rank badge’ does some weird fuckery from ESB to ROTJ. Just-just look. He gets his many many colorful chicklets when he was promoted, then by ROTJ someone nabbed his chicklets. (if you don’t know what a chicklet is….I’ve become ‘old’) So now I don’t know what badge is Admiral anymore and I’m too afraid to look.

Not facial related but, Piett is thin. That uniform from the front doesn’t do him any favors. The side views I have of him, he’s thinner than I thought.

His eyes are described in Canon as hazel, in Legends, they’re brown. Well, color picking straight from a high res photo that I sold my soul to Palpatine for, I have learned that his eyes MATCH HIS UNIFORM. I am looking at Tarkin’s relationship with Piett, with narrowed eyes. Tarkin…’designed’ the Imperial Uniforms. Though I think he designed the uniforms before meeting Piett, but still.

His hair is cut in a straight line on the back of his neck. Military cut, I’m sure. Little detail I noticed.

His hair at his temples are long enough to show his natural wavy hair. They look very soft.

Not a single scar or blemish on that man’s face. None. That I’ve noticed

Yandere Sumeru HCs + Imagines

note: sumeru has been my favorite region (collei) so this is my first post on here

warnings: yandere content, they/them used for darling, obsessive tendencies, collei is self-deprecating, collei is my sweet bby I love her very much, going on a date with collei, spoilers (?), mean alhaitham, alhaitham is on the spectrum and if you disagree you're wrong 💕, delusional nilou, nilou teaching her darling a dance, protective dehya, flirting, this is long (i think)

Tighnari

♡ Tighnari, who, in essence, is a nerd. He spends a majority of his time studying plants and watching over a young girl who was completely illiterate before returning to Sumeru. Tighnari, for all of his sass and attitude, runs specifically on intelligence. He hardly has time to think about romance or whether he may like someone that he knows.

♤ That all changes once he meets his darling, though.

♡ He meets them one day just outside of the Ville, as they were looking for Cyno. Tighnari's relation with the General was well-known, so it makes sense that they would ask him for Cyno's whereabouts. Tighnari would have no problem answering once he realizes that his darling means no harm. This, realistically, should have been the end of their meetings. However, that turned out not to be the case. They keep coming around, whether it be to inquire about Collei's well-being or to ask about Tighnari's research of the forest.

♤ Tighnari wouldn't have minded too much... except for the fact that he had been in the process of falling for them, and he fell hard. Tighnari is used to people brushing off his passion for the forest. He was a scholar who was told he could have done so much more with his life due to his intelligence, but he chose to stay in the forest to pursue what made him content. Having someone who finally understood that was so... refreshing.

♡ They have no idea what it does to him when they inquire about what he's been up to lately. It causes Tighnari to rush into a spiral in his mind, thinking about just how perfect his darling is for him. They're friends with Cyno, they've taken a like to Collei, and they seem genuinely interested in him. It makes him go crazy.

♤ He, for the first time in his life, desires to be with someone. It's such an odd feeling, too. He's never felt like this before. It's new, exciting, and it makes him feel like he's found an additional purpose in his life other than his plants and watching over Collei as she grows.

♡ It makes him feel good.

╭── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╮

"Ah, (Name)," Tighnari finds himself smiling as he catches sight of his new favorite person. "You're just on time, as always."

He reaches out a hand and pats the stool situated right next to his own by his desk. He had put it there since (Name)'s visits had gotten more and more regular. After visiting Collei and checking on the young trainee, (Name) would always come to Tighnari to learn more about the forest and his favorite plants.

They sat next to him, observing a mushroom of an odd variety on the desk as he explained what it was and what it did in great detail.

"This is called..."

This would go on for about thirty minutes, sometimes an hour, and while Tighnari knew that he likely had other things he had to do, he hardly minded spending his time like this. He was obsessed with the cute expression they would get on their face when he was explaining something to them. The thought that they genuinely enjoyed his lessons made Tighnari's tail wag behind him just a bit.

(Name) would usually thank Tighnari for the information before leaving to go back to Sumeru City. However, this time they stayed to talk to Tighnari a bit longer.

"I really enjoy spending time with you like this, Tighnari." (Name) says this while smiling gently at him.

He can feel his tail swishing.

These feelings were far from normal.

It wasn't normal to be so obsessed with another person, especially someone you were friends with. Tighnari knows this, but they're hard to stop.

His ears twitch backwards at their words, and going against his better judgement, Tighnari encourages them to see him more often.

It would feed into his addiction to them, he knew, but it was so hard for him to say no.

Collei

♡ She's the type to feel an immense amount of guilt due to her feelings concerning her darling. Collei, who is quite the insecure person in general, hates the fact that she's so aware of herself in this regard. The self-degradation and loathing are almost too much for this sweet girl to bear, and she often tries to stay away from her darling due to how her infatuation with them affects her mental health.

♤ This doesn't always work out, though. It isn't a good idea for Collei to take off a lot of time away from her darling. The loneliness that comes is just torturous for her and it shows in Collei's everyday life. Tighnari, her beloved mentor, would notice her miserable behavior almost immediately and drag her darling down to Collei's cottage before it could go any farther. Perhaps he knows that Collei has romantic feelings towards them and is trying to set them up, but she really doesn't appreciate the sentiment.

♡ Collei, who is an awkward introvert, is very bad at explaining how she feels when her mentor asks about it. She likes them. A lot. Collei doesn't think that she's worthy of looking at her darling in such a way, and she often tends to loath herself when she catches herself, desiring someone as good and amazing as her darling. It takes its toll on her, and the people who care about Collei, including her darling, take notice.

♤ They're good people, and this is because Collei doesn't get along with bad people. However, this doesn't mean that her darling would accept Collei as she is, or at least this is how she thinks. Her low self-esteem plays a big part in how Collei approaches trying to get closer with her darling. I like to imagine her with a slightly extroverted darling, someone who's willing to keep conversations going when she's unable to do so.

♡ Collei truly is sweet and devoted to her darling, though. Once she's in a relationship with them, she takes them out on quiet but cute dates. Collei isn't completely comfortable in loud spaces, so these dates are usually held in quiet yet enjoyable spaces, ones where she can have her darling all to herself. These dates consist of picnics mostly, and Collei enjoys them a lot. What a sweet girl <3

╭── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╮

The fibers of the soft blanket tickled Collei's legs as she layed down next to (Name). They were blabbering about something that happened in the city a few days ago, a place where Collei rarely went.

It was far too overstimulating for her.

(Name) handed Collei a flask filled with honied tea. They had heard from Tighnari that tea could help with anxiety, so they regularly made it for their girlfriend in hopes of quelling Collei's constant paranoia. Collei smiled and thanked them before taking the flask in her hands.

"Mhm! And what happened after that?"

Collei enjoyed this. Hearing about (Name)'s endeavors in the city never failed to make her smile, and she always encouraged (Name) to tell her more.

It made her happy just to hear their voice.

As the afternoon went on, Collei finds herself feeling drowsy. It may have been a mix of the tea and all the pita pockets she ate, but she settles down on the blanket, a soft yawn leaving her as she starts to drift off a little. All the while (Name) was still talking about Sumeru City, and about how the theatre was so fun to go to.

Collei finds herself hoping that one day, once she's better, she'll be able to go to that music festival, too.

She wants to be there with them.

Alhaitham

♡ He's very analytical about everything in his life, and Alhaitham is no different when it comes to romance. He's stunted in that category and often pays no mind to couples around him. Truthfully, he doesn't know what he's feeling when he's around his darling. He just knows that the feeling is incredibly distracting... he wants that feeling to stop as soon as possible.

♤ Alhaitham often visits his darling at their workplace, whether they're a scholar or not hardly matters to a man like him, especially as acting Grand Sage. I imagine if they worked at a small Cafe he would go there to finish up some of his leftover work at the end of the day. Despite not really liking how they make him feel, Alhaitham can't deny that being around his darling makes him relaxed.

♡ As messed up as it is, Alhaitham likes to scold and lecture his darling. He's sure that he's smarter than them, and he let's them know that, too. He's subtle about his intelligence against their own, but to them its painfully obvious. He's mean, especially when he thinks that they've been making him feel a certain way lately. Alhaitham, although he'd never admit it out loud, likes to pick on his darling.

♤ He's not a jealous guy. In fact, he takes more of an obsessive route when it comes to his yandere tendencies. Alhaitham knows just about everything there is to know about his darling. If they knew, they'd think that he saw them as some sort of research project. However, Alhaitham is just very tedious in his analysis of those around him, and he doesn't like it when he isn't aware of someone he's close with.

╭── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╮

"You're doing it wrong again," Alhaitham's voice is like nails on a chalkboard to them. He has his arms crossed over his broad chest as he watches them make a cup of coffee for Kaveh, the blonde giving him an annoyed look as (Name) grumbles out an apology.

He does this multiple times a month, they'd realized. He'd come in with his roommate and order specifically difficult to make drinks before criticism came pouring out of his constantly running mouth. He did this on purpose, they thought, because Alhaitham was just a bratty guy sometimes.

And soon he'd...

Alhaitham reaches over to guide (Name)'s hand, and they huff once again in exasperating annoyance.

"Since you can't do it yourself, I'll do it for you." Were his simple words as (Name) tears up in humiliation.

There are other customers in the quaint Cafe that they worked at. Alhaitham is aware of all of them, of course, and he pretends to pay it no mind when (Name) tries to drag their hand away from his grasp. He has no intention of letting them go.

"I mean, seriously," Alhaitham mumbles, loud enough that only (Name) could hear him. "Do I always have to do everything for you?"

Nilou

♡ She has a very pleasant disposition and Nilou has this work in her favor when she approaches the object of her affection. She's one of the very few yanderes who I can see genuinely having a happy relationship with her darling, and this is because it's hard for her darling to admit that there's something wrong with her behavior. It's not common for Nilou to act out in odd ways, so it's very easy for her darling to ignore any red flags that may pop up. Anyways, it's Nilou! She's just so sweet, there's no reason to doubt her innocence.

♤ Nilou's definitely more on the delusional spectrum when it comes to the different yandere personalities. She's not entirely delusional, but Nilou focuses on her fantasies of her future with her darling more than how they may not want the same future. She's romantic, wanting to spend the rest of her life with her darling because they mean that much to her. Those around her don't help her rather delusional tendencies, either. Those at the theatre are very supportive of Nilou's relationship and they think it's great that she's found somebody she's so devoted to.

♡ She's not a very jealous girl, and this is mostly due to her delusional tendencies. If there's someone flirting with her darling, Nilou doesn't take it the wrong way like some others might, and this is because she's very confident in her standing with her darling. She likes to think that they love her just as much as she loves them! Nilou, however, knows how charming and beautiful her darling is, so to a certain point she likes to keep her darling to herself. She's a very extroverted person, but still likes having that quiet time with her darling away from other people.

♤ Nilou likes to do performances for her darling. If they were interested in doing dancing shows with her she'd be absolutely ecstatic, but if not she's content just performing for them. These dances are specifically for them, and while others may be in the crowd watching her, Nilou only sees one single audience. These dances often express how Nilou feels about her darling. They can sometimes be slow and charming, and other times erratic and passionate. All of them are beautiful in their own right, and Nilou makes sure that they're perfect for her darling.

"There, you're doing so well!"

Nilou's praises were always so sweet and encouraging, her hands gentle as they lead (Name) around the stage as she taught them a dance. It was supposedly a very easy one (even the young children knew how to do it with ease), however, they were having a difficult time getting all of the movements to be fluid.

She was always so patient in these lessons, despite the fact that (Name) must have been an irritating student. Nilou didn't seem to mind, always leading them gently, almost like a mother duck with her baby.

Their bodies were close together as Nilou angled (Name)'s arms to the correct position, and they could feel her warm breath against their neck as she cooed out praises like a servant would to their deity. They had wanted to learn the dance, had gone to Nilou personally even though the anxiety had almost eaten through them. Nilou, on the other hand, couldn't be happier.

Embracing them like this during her favorite hobby was a dream-come-true for her and a feeling of euphoria breezed through her when she felt their soft skin under her fingertips.

"N-Nilou," (Name) mumbles out nervously as they stumbled a bit. "I'm not nearly as graceful as you... I don't think I can do it." They grasp her hands softly to stop themselves from potentially faling off of the stage and Nilou giggles at their cute mannerisms before spinning them around gracefully so they're facing her.

"Nonsense!" Nilou proclaims, her pale cheeks pinkened from the previous closeness they had just moments before. "You've done wonderfully so far, you just need more practice!"

She wasn't going to mention how she just said that so they would be able to spend more time together, but it was a harmless lack of information, Nilou thought.

She just wanted them close.

Dehya

♡ She's one of the more intense yanderes, but this is because of her protective nature, mostly. Dehya is a protector towards those who she considers important, and due to her infatuation with her darling, the come to the top of her list of those she needs to protect. However, this weighs on Dehya's mind a lot considering how lucid she is, and honestly she feels quite guilty about the thoughts she has about her darling. They don't deserve to have someone like her watching their every move and wanting to remove them from the rest of the world, and Dehya knows this.

♤ That being said, Dehya would never kidnap her darling or anything like that. She's a mercenary and often doesn't have a permanent place that she can call home, so doing something so reckless would likely get her darling killed, which really isn't something that Dehya wants. I imagine that her darling is actually someone from the city or forest, someone who has never been to the desert. She wants to keep them away from there if she can. Even though Dehya knows how beautiful the desert can be, she's painfully aware of how dangerous it is as well.

♡ Other than her rather protective and intense yandere tendencies, I think Dehya is better than some others. She's fiercely loyal and often spends her time trying to find ways to make her darling happy. Dehya likes to show off her strength to her darling. If they were someone who was rather weak she'd want them to know that she was capable of protecting them and that they didn't have to worry about getting hurt ever. Dehya takes a lot of pride in her strength and ability to protect those around her, so this would be no different than her normal relationships.

♤ Looking past all of that, Dehya is rather shy when it comes to romance. She's very aware of her emotions and Dehya knows that she's romantically interested in her darling, however, she doesn't know where to go from there. If her darling were to start flirting with her, Dehya would be rather flustered and unsure how to progress. She's a confident person by nature, but getting such attention from someone she's desperately infatuated with makes Dehya unsure of how to proceed.

Tapping her boot against the ground, Dehya hums a toon as she waits for (Name) to finish speaking with the sweet vendor. The day was especially hot so they had wanted to get something cool and sweet, and Dehya wasn't about to tell them no, especially if she could get something delicious out of it, too.

The city was busier than usual today, Dehya noticed as she looks around the road. Different types of vendors selling food, people conversing with loved ones, stuff like that. It made for a noisy day but she didn't mind. The desert was silent most of the time, so Dehya found the noise... sort of comforting.

"Did you find something you liked? I still have to pay you back for last time," (Name) is suddenly close to Dehya, and the woman can feel her temperature rise almost immediately. "Nah, I'm good..." Dehya chuckled, trying to ignore the heat of her cheeks as she looks at the person next to her. They were holding two cold treats, and if the both of them didn't hurry, Dehya was sure that the dessert would melt in no time.

Dehya pretends to think, tilting her head dramatically as she ponders.

"Aha!" Dehya exclaims suddenly, startling (Name). "My renumeration will be spending the day with you," she smiles down at (Name) as they shift their weight. "That's all I need." They look flustered as Dehya continues on their path towards the theatre, stumbling over a response that just wouldn't come.

Introducing myself

Well this feels awkward •ᴗ•

I rarely make posts like these on any website but hey I gotta start somewhere, and having a blog was something that always interested me. Be it a hobby or something I can professionaly work with. And I do love yapping. So that's a big plus

Not but fr, who am I you might ask? Why am I introducing myself to the tumblr void?

Truth be told I am a silly little writer. Currently I post on A03 since I am hyperfixated on Genshin Impact, and I love love love writing. In fact I have wrote a couple of series now. Word count can reach up to 150k words. Crazy stuff.

Im years late to this sorry i namesearch signora and found ur post but youre so soso right. Literally people only hate signora bc she kicked venti in the gut that one time, its that one tweet about "people cant even handle a female character who was mean to one of their boyfaves once" . most of thm also like dottore on the same breath too (I like him, but he basically scarred scara and collei for life so whats w the double standards?)

No yeah literally. Like. Ok in general i like all of the harbingers we've seen a lot because i think they're all interesting so far but when people single out signora specifically as if she's soooo much more evil than any other character i wanna beat them over the head with a rock. Like as you said it's clearly misogyny when you compare it to how they treat dottore or scaramouche, but people legitimately even hate her more than like. Ei (for transparency I don't even hate ei either i just think her whole deal was handled really lamely compared to what else they could have done for her arc because they had to wifeyfy her to sell her banner better or whatever, i'm bringing her up for this comparison because she's the other genshin woman who went kinda crazy out of grief like signora) and ei notoriously gave mega depression to hundreds of people across her nation by taking their visions or whatever the fuck whereas signora's biggest crime that we've currently seen on screen was kicking some twink, and yet that's being treated like something sooo heinous like 🙄 people talk a lot about loving mean and evil female characters but the one time there's a woman who's actually a bit mean and kind of a cunt on screen people start getting so so scared. I literally like venti too but i sincerely hope they bring signora back and she kicks him again

This winter seems to be the time where Oscar-winning directors want to explore the magic of the cinema. First there was Steven Spielberg’s fantastic The Fabelmans. Coming soon is Damien Chazelle’s Babylon (more about that in a week or two…). And in between is this sweet tale from Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall, 1917).

Now unlike the other two movies, which celebrate the act of making films, Empire of Light revolves around the showing of those same movies. (Although, in fairness, both The Fabelmans and Babylon each have at least one segment celebrating the magic of simply watching a movie in a theater.)

Empire of Light is the story of the crew that works in The Empire, a slightly rundown but grand cinema on the British coastline, circa 1981. It is an odd mix of types and situations, but it is filled with outcasts who truly love film – and each other. (In a family way…)

And honestly, Empire of Light is a very nice film, although it could have been even better. (For the record, of the three films mentioned above, it’s worse than The Fabelmans, but much better than Babylon.)

Empire of Light has a sepia-toned nostalgia for the world it inhabits; the grandeur of the giant movie houses, the tail end of the 70s (culturally, if not chronologically), arguably the last great era of filmmaking. (Among the movies which are referenced significantly in the film are Being There, Chariots of Fire and Stir Crazy.)

In fact, in some ways, in its better moments, Empire of Light is reminiscent to that old beautiful Italian love song to theaters – Cinema Paradiso.

Unfortunately, there is a tendency to try to stuff too many storylines into the confines of the Empire of Light. We are dealing with mental health issues, adultery, racism, May/December romance, interracial romance, and more. All of these issues are important and worthy of examination but piling so many together makes everything feel a bit overstuffed.

Still, as usual Olivia Colman is just breathtaking in her role as the brittle manager of the theater, and the mostly unknown Micheal Ward is pretty much her equal as a new usher who becomes her best friend – and maybe more. And Toby Jones steals every scene he is in as the soulful projectionist at the theater.

You expect a lot when you get a film starring Colman and directed by Oscar-winning director Mendes. Honestly, Empire of Light doesn’t quite live up to that pedigree, however it is a very sweet, wistful film and a true love note to the old-fashioned theater going experience. It’s definitely an experience worth revisiting.

I'm bored, so i'm gonna main a random character || p1

Hello everyone! A bit of a different post for today but I wanted to switch things up. I really enjoyed making my last series so today i'll be starting a new one where I document my whole process of building + maining a new character for a bit

For those of you that like my more educational content, i'd still love if you stuck around for this one because it will cover a lot of my thought process and you might be able to pick up some tips along the way.

Let's begin!!

╰┈➤ part one : ̗̀➛ goals

Obviously the description of "building and maining" a character is kinda vauge. So, here are the criteria i'm giving myself for this challenge

: ̗̀➛ level 90 the character

: ̗̀➛ crown a talent. This one is a maybe but i'd like to do it. Consider it an "extra credit" assignment for myself lol

: ̗̀➛ all artifacts have the correct stats + correct set

: ̗̀➛ at least a 60/120 or 70/140 crit ratio

: ̗̀➛ a complete team for them (not a team that will carry them though, aka hyperbloom)

: ̗̀➛ a "functional team". A team that isn't just for the showcase, but is somewhat practical for everyday use

: ̗̀➛ kill a boss with the team in a somewhat impressive amount of time. I'm not talking any crazy nukes since my Mona isn't built yet but around 5-10 seconds is the goal. I'm not gonna try to reach 100k or anything crazy with them though since if it's a "bad" character that's probably a waste of my resources

╰┈➤ part two : ̗̀➛ selecting the character

ok, so you have no reason to trust me on this but I 100% promise the character I get is the first one I roll.

I plugged all my unbuilt (all level 60 or below) characters into a wheel and, incase you're curious, here's the list:

Lynette, Mika, Candace, Dori, Yun Jin, Kirara, Gorou, Thoma Chongyun, Dehya, Charlotte, Freminet, Faruzan, Heizou, Mona, Kayea, Ninnguang, Kujou Sara, Amber, Razor, Collei

Gonna spin it now and then immediately write my first thoughts so, here we go!

Ok I got Candace! Honestly not too sure how to feel about this. One one hand her infusion should allow her to function as a DPS but since she's HP scaling, my options are limited when it comes to choosing teammates. Honestly, I think I can do this. ALSO she's super pretty and I love her design which is a plus. The wheel allllmost landed on Charlotte which is a bit of a bummer because I was eventually planning on building her but, oh well

╰┈➤ part three : ̗̀➛ build and team ideas

if you aren't interested in this kinda thing, skip to the end this section for a summary :D

ok, now I actually have to figure out a build for her. Before looking at any guides, the sets that stick out to me for maybe being viable are:

Nymph's Dream for Hydro damage bonus and attack. The attack won't boost her skill or burst damage but could help her normal attacks especially since her scalings are less than impressive. But the fact that a) one of the stats is useless for 2/3 of her kit and b) that the domain is super inefficient to farm + I have no preexisting pieces for it makes me not want to go for this set

The second set that once I immediately was drawn to after thinking of it was Marrechausse Hunter. Not only does it boos her normal and charges attack damage, but the 4pc will help a ton with crit stats. Of course, this does mean running her with Furina but I promise i'll take off her artifacts once it's time for a showcase since her summons will 100% destroy everything. The other benefits of this set are that I already have a few pieces and that I don't mind farming it for Noelle and Furina

Unfortunately the KeqingMains guide for Candace is only up to date with 4.3 but looking at the artifact section, 2pc/2pc is only 3-5% worse than Nymph's Dream. From this I think it's safe to assume that Marechausee Hunter will be at worst, only a bit less damage than ND

note: I asked on the KQM discord and it seemed like people agreed

As for weapons, I unfortunately don't have any 5 star Polearms so my options are kinda limited. Of the polearms I have, the only one that I think could work is White Tassel but with 4pc MH the crit rate might be too much when factoring in CR from substats

Other than that, Missive Windspear could work for Vaporize

I could also use Dragon's Bane for EM but atp I'm just gonna wait till artifacts are done

note from the future that i'm adding later: will probably go with missive windspear

Finally, it's time to decide a team

Because of her set, Furina is needed. I should also slot in Kazuha because it's Kazuha. For the last slot, I have a few choices

Bennet is an obvious choice for the Attack. I could also go Xiangling on 4pc Tenacity for Attack + Attack from passive + Pyro application. Probably a worse choice than Bennett

A strange but not horrible choice would actually be Lisa! Her ascension passive shreds the DEF of enemies. She can run 4pc Noblesse to buff attack and as a catalyst, can use TTDS for even more attack!

I think i'll try both Bennett and Lisa in the final showcase to see which has more damage

As for the practical team, I think a Taser (electrocharged) team with Sayu/Beidou/Furina would be a ton of fun. I chose Sayu for the teamwide heal bc I don't have Jean and she's already built

Honestly this practical team ig getting me kinda excited to play her!

I’m aware it’s a dream, and that my actions have control over everything else. In some ways, this godly power gives me anxiety; what if I fuck up? What if I hurt someone in my dreams? Will I hurt them in real life? Will they know?

I stand in a theater, an auditorium, and I look out at the rising seats. Red in color, dark red, bathed in darkness. Outside, somewhere, sirens wail, ascending and descending, growing closer and further, as though the concept of distance doesn’t truly exist. Like they’re driving in circles. Or rather, like the sirens are moving in circles without them; I don’t hear engines.

I hear birds chirping and whales singing and I can feel their loneliness in my bones, itching, crawling on my skin, and rolling around in my skull, bouncing like a DVD logo. Their loneliness echoes my own isolation in this theater, putting on a show for patrons I cannot see, with a script I do not know. The papers in my hand, appearing as I look, are blank; I need to write my own show on the spot, but if I do not entertain then it will be my own downfall, embarrassment and shame, that are the entertainment for the cruel patrons playing the game."

Social Study [E.D]

Summary: Daisy and Ethan get to know each other in more ways than one as they work on a project where they conduct social experiments and videotape the process.

Warnings: cursing, mentions of a fuckboy

A/N: First of all I just want to say how excited I am to finally jump out of the shadows and start writing again. I’ve been a longtime lurker and I stopped writing stories I actually enjoyed for around year or so. I’m really excited about this. I know the twins are barely in this first part, I got a bit carried away with trying to add detail to the introduction. The next part will be lots more of our beloved boys. And yes, the characters will be getting down and dirty quite soon so stay tuned for that! I really do hope that you guys enjoy reading this (if anyone is reading this) so please leave feedback if it’s not too much trouble. I also apologize if there are any errors, this is the rough draft that I just busted out over the course of three hours so don’t hate me for the mistakes! Future posts should be less scattered, I’m just being crazy excited. Anyway, happy Tuesday.

P.S. I realize that most people use “Y/N” as the main characters name, but I felt like the story flowed better when I named the characters. If it bothers you, please let me know! Much love.

Daisy Brant considered herself to be a reasonable person. She wasn’t going to throw a fit because someone accidentally spilled juice on her top, even if it did take her a couple years months to save up for it. She won’t run off and tell the principal that a few kids were smoking pot in the corner of the hallway, even if one of them did throw an edible at her cheek. She kept to herself and stayed out of trouble, worked as hard as she could, and steered away from drama. Yet here she was, stuck being partnered in Psychology with the one person she could not stand to be around for longer than a few minutes.

His name was Austin Colley, and although Daisy moved to the city a couple months ago, Austin had managed to get to her only a couple days after the big switch. Apparently the school didn’t get many transfers this late into the year, which was understandable, however, Daisy didn’t realize that her arrival would be spread like a wildfire. She had barely found her way to the dormitories when Austin first decided to “grace” her with his presence. Their conversation was short-lived, as the first words that came out of his mouth were, “Nice rack.” Daisy had dealt with guys like him before, and she decided avoiding him would be her best bet.

Austin didn’t take no for an answer. Every chance he got, he was wrapping an arm around her or looking down her shirt, which wasn’t too difficult considering she was 5’5” and he was exactly six foot. Rejection after rejection must have gotten old for him because one day he snapped and pantsed her during Gym. It was a magical moment for the boys in the room, especially considering Daisy was wearing a red, lacy thong under her sweatpants. She couldn’t have gotten out of that room faster and hadn’t bothered to acknowledge him since that moment. Doing this project was going to be hell for her.

She considered explaining the situation to the teacher, this should definitely be a valid reason to have a different partner, or maybe even doing a new project of her own instead. At this, she shook her head, knowing that out of this prestigious school, the teacher she was placed with was referred to as “the strictest supervisor” and Daisy didn’t feel like causing a scene. She should at least give him a chance before resorting to begging for a new partner. She turned her body towards Austin and looked him in the eye, trying to convey that she wasn’t in the mood for joking around.

“What times are you free to work on this?” She asked him, putting an edge on her words to warn him not to mess with her.

Austin chuckled and lazily threw an arm around her shoulder, still not understanding the concept of personal space. “Sorry sweet cheeks, I’m booked for the rest of the month. I could squeeze you in if you’ll let me squeeze inside of you?”

Daisy walked away after that came out of his mouth. He obviously hadn’t changed and wasn’t planning to, so she had to come up with a plan of her own. She would look around for someone who fit the requirements of Austin’s physique but hopefully had a better personality. Her first task was getting this approved without attracting attention.

Each pair of partners got a different task to do for the class, and Daisy wasn’t so sure how she felt about hers. The index card said that the teacher wanted the two to do social experiments, record the process of the project, and then record their opinions on what they think before and after completing it.

Daisy practically tiptoed up to the desk of Ms. Rousse, even though the students had already filed out for their seven-minute break between classes. “Miss, would it be okay with you if I partnered up with somebody besides Austin? I don’t want to be a hassle but he refuses to work seriously with me,” she begged the raven-haired woman standing in front of her.

As Ms. Rousse opened her mouth to respond, Daisy physically winced in preparation for the harsh answer that she was sure was on its way, and yet it never came. “Ethan Grant, he’s in Dorm 208. Either partner with him or fail the project with Colley,” was the short response that she was given.

Daisy could feel the grin on her face spread wider than she could’ve imagined as she skipped out of the door and started on the way to her next class. The “strictest supervisor” had just completed everything Daisy needed in order to start her project with only two short statements. For the first time in weeks, things were looking up.

Rickey Thompson, a 23-year-old who knows how to use social media to his benefit, posted a video captioned, “When someone flirts with me.” In the video, Thompson delivers a hysterical and relatable monologue about the confidence and awkwardness he feels when someone flirts with him. The video, one of his now famous 21st-century soliloquies, has more than 2.7 million views.

“Oh, my God,” Thompson says, looking straight into the camera in his empty dining room. He runs his hands down his body, playfully laughs: “Oh, my God you’re flirting with me. You’re flirting with me. Oh. You like what you see? Well, baby, this is a gourmet meal. This is delicioso.” Then he purrs, pretends to bite something, roars and turns his back to the camera, almost as if in slow motion. “Oh my God, you’re flirting with me. Oh, my God. Watch. Watch me walk away.”

Thompson’s Instagram videos are short, usually no more than a minute, and to the point. They work well on platforms like Vine (now defunct) and Instagram that value bite-size spicy takes, rather than in-depth examinations.

And, as people regularly comment under his videos, Thompson is funny. Some of his videos are close-up selfies of his face with him delivering a judgmental or bragging monologue into the camera, while other videos are of him dancing alone. They can prompt an action: like, comment, share and sometimes all three.

Before having Instagram as a performance outlet, Thompson had theater. He grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and despite being a “quiet and nerdy” teenager, Thompson said he loved performing in high school productions. On the advice of a friend, he joined Vine and started posting videos in 2013 when he was 17. Less than a year later, Kylie Jenner shared one of them.

“I was in class looking at my phone secretly, and I freaked out because I was getting many notifications,” Thompson said. Seemingly overnight he was “the most popular kid in school.”

When Vine shut down in 2016, Thompson had 2.5 million followers and he wasn’t sure he would ever regain that following. He tried posting videos where he reviewed and talked about fashion on YouTube, but wasn’t keen on making long-form pieces on the topic. He knew what worked for him: short, pointed videos. He started posting on Instagram, where he currently has 3.1 million followers, including Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus and Diplo.

And some of the posts have amounted to payment, in the form of sponsored content and ads. Thompson would not reveal how much he makes, but Amanda Bodenstein and Gon Carpel,his managers, said in a statement emailed to The New York Times that he “makes a comfortable living doing promotional posts, acting, making appearances and with creative collaborations.” As for future aspirations, Thompson, who lives in Los Angeles, hopes to do more acting.

He recently shared some tips on how he thinks about online content.

Be relatable: When people see a video of me ranting in my car or bedroom or closet they think, “Oh, I do the same thing!” I film all my videos on my phone. For the dance videos, I place my phone on the windowsill and press record. It’s very simple. And I used to film in my room but got sick of it, so I moved out of my room, but I’m still at home, not a fancy studio.

When I rant, people love that, especially if I’m ranting about a relatable topic, like dating or friendship or work. The more relatable a video is, the better. But I also love ranting. I really do. Instagram is my journal, and if I’m feeling angry I’ll go to Instagram. People are so happy to see me being myself.

Don’t overthink it: I don’t really do multiple takes. My ranting videos I can definitely do in one take, and for those, there’s no plan. I turn on the camera and talk, and it’s done. There you have it. Cute idea. Done.

Give the people what they want: I monitor my growth and views and comments and all that. It’s honestly so crazy. I cannot believe I actually have this many followers. It really drives me to do better and better. People love the ranting videos. People love the dancing videos. They say I have great moves. Seriously, a lot of people like them, and if I can put a smile on your face I’ll keep doing it.

But don’t “do the most”: I don’t have a strategy behind what works for my Stories versus posts. For me, what works in Stories [videos that disappear after 24 hours] works as posts [posts are online until deleted]. So there’s no need for extra posts or different kinds of posts. For the dancing videos, I choose a song that makes me feel good and go with it.

Acknowledge others in the content game: There’s a lack of realness on Instagram, so I love that people are starting to embrace their unique personalities. I feel like some people are lacking originality on Instagram, and that happens off Instagram, too. They see what’s doing well and say, “I’ll do that, too.” They’re just trying to follow trends, and you don’t need to do that. Be you. Do you.

Some of my favorite accounts to follow are my best friend, Denzel Dion (@denzeldion), Vena E (@yesimprettyvee) and Cardi B. I mean, Cardi made it out here being herself. I also love that people are starting to embrace their unique personalities. I love how Amber Wagner (@jstlbby) always will mess around and post an inspirational video, and Donte Colley (@dontecolley) too.

Add a bit of aspiration: I make sure that every time I make a video I have a good look on. It shows people your personality, and people are drawn to that. My look tells people that I’m funny and I can dress. Most of my looks are thrifted and inspired by my dad. I see old photos of him and draw from that. I’m obsessed with the looks of the ’90s and early 2000s.

Keep your eye on the big picture: As a kid growing up in North Carolina I was shy. I was bullied for being gay and being an extra-loud person. People would say, “You’re so annoying,” and pick on me for how I looked.

When I look back, I wish I could tell myself not to change myself. You will be loved for being yourself. Always keep your head up. I know that sometimes it’s going to be hard and you’ll beat yourself up, but your hard work will pay off. I went through it. I went through so many no’s.

Now I have my dream in my hands. And if people hate you for you, don’t listen. Focus on staying booked and busy.

Verge [XVG], despite the Brazzers and Pornhub partnership loses value big time!

Verge [XVG], the mystery coin has not taken a break from being in the media for a while now. After the big partnership reveals with PornHub that the entire market was and is talking about, the prices were expected to soar up really high flipping the fortunes of its investors.

The coin disappointed traders right after the reveal declining by almost 20% during which the coin holders stayed positive assuming it is warming up before a big rise occurs. However, XVG continues to disappoint its investors going against the current market trend with a further decline of 7% summing up to 30% overall for this week.

The current price of XVG is $0.06 and has pushed it down the line to the 24th rank. It is worth a market cap of $976 million with ZCash giving a close call worth a market cap of $962 million.

Binance, Upbit, Bittrex, and Binance are the top exchange’s trading this coin as Binance accounts for more than 50% of its trading volume.

Verge [XVG] also announced a tie-up with Brazzers right after the PornHub announcement. It recently announced a partnership with Mindgeek as well and will reveal further information soon.

Ladyfag Brought Inclusivity From the Club Scene to Mainstream

It might be hard to find a single place in the world where Ladyfag dresses down. Not when she’s alone at home, lounging in a bias-cut 1930s slip. Not when she pops out to the deli near her New York City apartment. And not even when she’s dashing from our FASHION cover shoot to catch a red-eye to London. Leaving the sweats to others (they’re the one trend she says she won’t wear), she prefers to sweep on board in a Burberry coat and sky-high heels.

“Airports are glamorous,” says the nightlife icon as she picks at a fruit danish post-shoot. “Everyone is going places and doing things. So why not? You’re going to take off your shoes anyway, when you get on the plane, so you might as well kick off heels instead of sneakers.”

For someone who grew up as Rayne Baron in Thornhill, an affluent but conservative suburb of Toronto, Ladyfag’s penchant for theatrics comes as a bit of a surprise—even to her. “It’s funny because when I was younger, I was definitely shyer than I am now,” she says. “I was observing rather than doing, and I don’t know fully when that changed.”

It could have been when she moved to Toronto’s eclectic Kensington Market at 18 that she began coming into her own. She started selling vintage clothes, which ignited her love for fashion, and eventually discovered nightclubs and performance art. It was for a performance piece at a Toronto art gallery that she adopted the name “Ladyfag,” a campy reference to being a flamboyant woman in a world of gay men.

A spontaneous visit to New York 15 years ago opened the doors to a career she’d never anticipated. “I didn’t go there with any agenda,” she says. But she began attending parties in the city’s nightclubs, where she caught the eye of legendary promoter Kenny Kenny. From there, “it snowballed,” and soon she was throwing outrageous parties of her own. Her events earned her the title of “nightlife sorceress” from The New York Times and have been attended by the likes of Riccardo Tisci, Alexander Wang, Padma Lakshmi and former Club Kid Amanda Lepore. Long before it became the buzzword of the moment, the term “inclusive” would come up, time and again, in the media coverage of her parties.

“When you’ve grown up in that world of nightlife and queer culture…we’ve always been the underdogs and the freaks and the crazies, but now we’re suddenly becoming a trend. It’s kind of funny, but it’s positive, really, because inclusivity is good. People are changing their ideas of what is beautiful; they’re finally catching up.”

With her extravagant makeup and double take-worthy outfits—a mix of vintage and designers like Tisci, Marc Jacobs, Junya Watanabe and John Galliano—it might be easy to look at Ladyfag’s larger-than-life brand and wonder about the line between the person and the persona: How much is her, and how much is an act?

“There’s me as a person, but then there’s Ladyfag, who’s a brand, a personality,” she says. “Nightlife is a fantasy, and that’s part of what I’m selling. So I have to always be on—I have to have my game face on. As a friend of mine who’s a drag queen used to say, ‘A lady always wears her lips.’”
