Living in a constant chase for gain compels people to expend their spirit to the point of exhaustion in continual pretense and overreaching and anticipating others. Virtue has come to consist of doing something in less time than someone else... Soon we may well reach the point where people can no longer give in to the desire for a vita contemplativa (that is, taking a walk with ideas and friends) without self-contempt and a bad conscience.
Friedrich Nietzsche, The Gay Science

People keep saying that its parasocial for others to be angry and upset by this stupid bullshit Watcher pulled but I think that excusing blatant greed and disrespect for fans with "Look at how sad these boys are! Theyre clearly innocent and naive and have just been bullied by those evil poors online for wanting to make art!" is fucking embarrassing.

New Testament Bible Verses about Greed, Wealth & Social Justice
Come now, you rich people, weep and wail for the miseries that are coming to you. Your riches have rotted, and your clothes are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have rusted, and their rust will be evidence against you, and it will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure for the last days. Listen! The wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and pleasure; you have fattened your hearts on a day of slaughter. -James 5:1-5
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. -Matthew 5:3
Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you. -Matthew 5:42
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth -Matthew 6:19
You cannot serve God and wealth. -Matthew 6:24
If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor -Matthew 19:21
It will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God. -Matthew 19:23
Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me. ...Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me. -Matthew 15:35,36,40
Then they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling and those who were buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold doves; and he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. He was teaching and saying, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers." -Mark 11:15-17
Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and to be greeted with respect in the market-places, and to have the best seats in the synagogues and places of honour at banquets! They devour widows' homes and for the sake of appearance say long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation. -Mark 12:38
He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts. He has brought down the powerful from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly; he has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty. -Luke 1:51-53
Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none, and whoever has food must do likewise. -Luke 3:11
The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour. -Luke 4:18,19
Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled...But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. Woe to you who are full now, for you will be hungry. -Luke 6:20,21,24,25
Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions. -Luke 12:15
For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted...when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you -Luke 14:11, 13,14
All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. -Acts 2:44,45
No one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common... There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles; feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. -Acts 4:32,34,35
May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain God's gift with money! -Acts 8:20
If your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. -Romans 12:20, 21
Thieves must give up stealing; rather let them labour and work honestly with their own hands, so as to have something to share with the needy. -Ephesians 4:28
Women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing- not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works. -1 Timothy 2:9, 10 [modesty here refers to flaunting wealth]
But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. -1 Timothy 6:9,10
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have -Hebrews 13:5
Let the believer who is lowly boast in being raised up, and the rich in being brought low, because the rich will disappear like a flower in the field. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the field; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. It is the same with the rich; in the midst of a busy life, they will wither away. -James 1:9-11
Religion that is pure and undefiled is before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. -James 1:27
Has not God chosen the poor in the world to be rich in faith and to be heirs of the kingdom of that he has promised to those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who oppress you? Is it not they who drag you into court? -James 2:5,6
If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, keep warm and eat your fill', and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? -James 2:15,16

The sage does not hoard. The more he does for others, the more he has himself; the more he gives to others, the more his own bounty increases.

Wealth by Unrighteous Means
Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, That he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil! — Habakkuk 2:9 | Cambridge Paragraph Bible (CAMB) The Cambridge Paragraph Bible of the Authorized English Version, by Scrivener, Frederick Henry Ambrose, 1813-1891. “The capitalist system is about taking from the Earth and from the other great commodity, labour. What's happening with this system is that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, and the only way out of it is supposed to be growth. But growth is debt. It's going to make the situation worse. — Vivienne Westwood
ITS OFFICIAL
"No wealth tax under Labour, Rachel Reeves" (Telegraph: 25/08/23)
The Labour Party will not increase taxes on the rich
The Labour Party will not increase taxes on the wealthy.
The labour Party will not increase the tax on unearned income.
People like Rishi Sunak will continue to pay less tax on their unearned income than someone who works for a living.
You and I pay a tax rate of 20% on all earned income between £12,571 and £50.270.
The rich and wealthy only pay 18% tax on unearned income between £12,571 and £50,270.
You and I pay a 40% tax rate on earned incomes between £50,271 and £125.140.
The rich and wealthy only pay a 28% tax rate on unearned incomes between £50,271 and £125,139.
(Above figures from Uswitch: Capital gains tax allowances and rates: 20/06/23.)
In short, should the Labour Party become the next government, it will have no more money at its disposal than the current Tory government unless it decides to increase taxes on those who work for a living. Starmer has already ruled out borrowing more money so the only way he can increase government finances is to increase taxes on working people.
Starmer claims this wont be necessary as Labour intends to “grow the economy” but that is exactly the same answer that Rishi Sunak gives.
Neither of them seems to be heeding the wise words of Vivienne West.
