-
It was getting close to Christmas time, and your family’s annual party was just around the corner, in only a few days.
Decorating was your favorite part, making sure each table was perfect, stringing lights up, and color-matching flowers down to the hex code.
You weren’t a big fan of the people, making the same basic conversation repeatedly. Politeness was handed out to every person there, never to see them again until the next year.
You had finished everything else, now making the personalized greeting cards. It was a nice way to see who was coming.
Being so close to Christmas, it was nice to destress. All the last-minute essays and tests practically drove you crazy.
You recognized a few names, adding a little more detail to them.
You came across a blank one you haven’t started on yet, the name card reading ‘Leon S Kennedy’.
You can’t remember the last time you saw him. Being busy at college and him coming over randomly made it hard to interact at all, your dad texting you during class that he showed up. You didn’t understand why he pushed it so hard.
Sure, he may be a good guy, but the age gap made conversations awkward. You enjoyed talking, but there was nothing in common.
“A stern intimidating government agent and a cute college girl.”
You giggle at the thought, that sentence sounding like a bad porno.
You continue working on the card, trying to personalize it like you had done with the others.
A quick walk around the place and you nod to yourself, finally done with everything.
Now to wait until the boring party, what could go wrong?
-
The days leading up to the event came and went, and the stressful day is now upon you.
You laid an outfit out the night before, almost going through every article of clothing you owned before finding the perfect outfit.
You spun around in the mirror, checking every angle before walking out of your room and into the kitchen.
Your mom and dad were in a heated conversation, arguing about rides and whatnot.
You gave them a weird look and cleared your throat, making them both look at you in what looked like surprise, shock and worry. “Oh- Hey hun” Your dad stuttered out, quickly hugging you. An obvious distraction from the conversation they were just having. You stand back and cross your arms, giving him a knowing look.
He huffs, walking over and standing beside your mom, nudging her with his elbow. She rolls her eyes and steps forward, taking your hand and sitting you down at the kitchen table. “I'm assuming you heard a good bit of that, so I'll be completely honest with you.” She sighed, her stern eyes quickly glaring at your dad. “Somebody- I wont say who. Offered to pick a few people up, so you'll have to ride with…someone else”
You give her a puzzled look, scrunching your face up. “Okay..? I can just drive there-”
“We already told someone you'd ride with them” Your dad interrupts, a guilty look on his face. You groan, placing your head in your hands, trying to calm yourself a little bit. You sigh, looking back up. “Well, who is this mystery driver?”
They both look at each other, your mom softly patting your leg before she stands up. “They'll be here soon…”
You sigh again, shaking your head back and forth. “Very descriptive, thank you. When will they be here?” You grumble, standing up. You hear the low rumble of a car pulling up, and you can practically feel the bass through the floors of whatever loud music they are playing.
“Speak of the devil!” Your dad cheerfully exclaims, slowly making his way to the door.
You quickly rush up the stairs, needing to grab your bag and put on your shoes.
You slip on your shoes and your ears perk up at the sound of a deep laugh. You hear a few laughs and three voices, your mom and dad, and a voice you don't quite recognize.
You finish getting fully ready and crack your door open, hoping to get a small look at the mystery person.
“Hey! There she is!” Your mom yells, her tone almost demanding you make your way back down to them.
You internally groan, taking a deep breath before you quickly make your way down the stairs.
Immediately making eye contact with Leon as you step into the kitchen.
Your mouth dries up at the sight of him, your greetings and perfect gestures leaving your head, making it blank.
I mean, he's drop-dead gorgeous? You know it had been quite a few years since you last saw him, but you didn't think he could get more attractive.
His sleek pants and black dress shirt fit him perfectly, clinging to the muscles that desperately wanted to break out. His worn leather jacket is on top of that.
He was tall and lean. His muscled and tan frame was framed by his intense eyes and soft smile. Dark short hair, almost black. Even though he looked tough, a faint smirk could be seen playing on the edges of his lips, reminding you that there's more to this agent than his exterior suggests.
His eyes squint down at you and you get knocked out of your gaze, your eyes widening for a split second.
“Hey, Leon! It's been a while since I saw you” You say with a smile, your normal self returning.
He chuckles, the low tone of it surprising you. “Yeah, thought you were avoiding me,” He says, crossing his arms, his piercing eyes never leaving yours.
You awkwardly laugh, your hand shooting up to rub the back of your neck. “Just been a bit busy at college is all”
“Enjoying your break so far?”
You raise your eyebrows at that question, the tone Leon used almost sending chills down your spine, in a good way.
“Uh yeah, so far…” You mumble, your eyes darting over to your parents for a second, the look on your face begging for a little help. Your mom suddenly claps her hands together, startling the three of you. “Well, we need to go pick up some people. So we will meet you at the party, okay?” She smiles, basically pushing all of us outside.
“Well let's get going sweetheart, don't wanna be late,” He says with a smirk, making his way over to his parked car. You hurriedly make your way after him, getting in the passenger seat after he unlocked the doors.
He turns the car on and the music blasts through the radio, the sudden loud noise making you jump a little in your seat. He laughs and turns it down, muttering a small “sorry..” as he pulls out of the driveway.
His brows furrowed as he flipped through the radio with his free hand, his other gripped on the steering wheel.
He lets out a small approving noise, settling on a song that you've never heard of.
A weird wave of tension fills the air, and both of you are suddenly aware of each other in the car.
Trying to find a distraction, your eyes wander over to him.
The way his arms flex when he moves, his rough hands gripping the wheel, the serious expression he is wearing as he's driving. You find yourself captivated by his every movement, the sudden dryness of your eyes pulling you out of your trance.
He suddenly smirks. “You with me?” He teases, looking at you out of the corner of his eye.
Your face flushes, your loud and racing heartbeat making it hard to think. You shyly nod, looking out the windshield.
He chuckles, his eyes returning to the road in front of him.
“So, what’s so cool about this party?”
Your ears perk up at that question, not realizing he had never been.
“Oh, it’s kinda hard to explain. It’s just a nice get-together for the town” You say, trying to explain but still sounding as vague as possible.
“It has food and drinks, and little things here and there. Oh, and a Secret Santa towards the end! That’s my favorite part” You smile, knowing the present you bought was already sitting on the huge table.
“Good thing your old man told me about that part, wouldn’t want to show up empty-handed” He smirks, gesturing to the wrapped present he had in the backseat.
You raise your eyebrows at that, not expecting him to bring anything, and also wondering what he had in that box.
“I would ask but I guess that would ruin the surprise for later” You laugh, placing a finger over your lips.
“Exactly”
After talking for a few minutes, the tension almost disappeared, which made you happy. Finally talking to him made you realize what a waste it was to miss out on the other times.
While he still had walls up and still made you incredibly nervous. His dry humor and good looks made up for all that.
Depending on how many times you see him in the future, you think you could be really good friends.
You finally pull up to the place after what feels like hours, taking a nice deep breath of the cold air as you step out of the car.
He leans against the hood of his car, pulling out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. “Go ahead sweet thing, I’ll just be a few” You eye him up and down, before nodding, quickly walking in the doors.
Your eyes widen a bit, looking around at the sea of people. This has to be the biggest party yet, and it wasn’t even the correct time for people to show up.
Your parents rush to you as you open the doors, already looking stressed.
“We might need your help this time around, handing out drinks and whatnot”
You slowly nod, maybe working and busting your ass for these random people will make you forget about the sweet compliments and the bad intentions.
-
You walk around the venue for hours, handing out beer, water, and maybe kegs of champagne.
You honestly didn’t understand how people could drink that much, but it’s not like there was a set limit to how much they could take. Your parents were also guilty of that, buying so much.
You find your way outside, resting on the uncomfortable cold brick wall. Taking in a nice deep breath, you audibly sigh, finally taking your much-needed break.
You may still be on your feet, but it’s a nice break regardless.
“Tired?” A low voice asks.
You turn your head a bit, making eye contact with Leon.
“Don’t tell me you’ve been out here the whole time” You laugh, shaking your head back and forth like a disappointed parent.
“Nah, I’ve been in a few times. Saw you being a little waitress in there” He says, a clear smirk on his face as he exhales, allowing smoke to slowly exit his parted lips.
“I never served you, what did you drink?”
“Nothing, very limited choices. I’m a whiskey kinda guy” He shrugs, grinding his lit cigarette out into a nearby ashtray.
You hum, nodding your head.
Looking him up and down, you could tell he was that type of guy, you can’t really put your finger on the specifics though.
A few minutes pass, complete silence from the both of you.
It wasn’t awkward this time, just weird tension again.
“Are you going back in?” He asks, lighting up another one of his cigarettes.
“Not right this second…” You sigh, leaning your head against the wall.
He chuckles a bit, amused at your expression.
“Not big on small talk, but you’re too interesting” He murmurs, sparing a small glance at you.
“You’re not so bad, kid.” He winks, blowing the smoke out again.
You aren’t too big on smoking but god is it tempting to start just for him.
The way he looks at you while he blows the smoke out, makes you want to inhale anything he’s willing to let out.
“Ah, thanks.” You say after a few seconds, deciding not to focus too much on the small name he ended that with.
“You’re cool, I guess…” You shrug, a small smirk appearing on your lips.
He raises an eyebrow, scoffing as if he’s actually offended.
“Cooler than you” He laughs, rolling his eyes.
“Yeah right” You quickly reply back, crossing your arms.
This small back-and-forth almost makes you nauseous, if anyone else tried what he’s doing? You’d immediately walk away.
How far could this even go? It’s wrong, but right in so many ways.
You could fight with yourself for ages, or you could enjoy the little bit of flirting that he’s offering up.
He seems pretty interested, and you weren’t too far off from ditching this boring party and going home with him.
“So…” You started off with, deciding to ditch your screaming mind and go with your heart.
“You secretly married with kids or something?”
Leon laughs at that, shaking his head in what seems to be disbelief. “Took my ring off before I came here..”
You shrug, making a point to keep your hands up.
“Can’t chase after a married man.”
He hums, looking forward as he exhales the smoke again.
The silence after is deafening, only listening to the sounds of crickets and cars in the distance.
“You want to get out of here?”
He suddenly asks, throwing his cigarette to the side.
-
Like you’d say no to that
-
The next moments are a blur, completely skipping over the awkward car ride and the quick fumbling to get in the door for his keys.
Skipping when he grabs you with no effort, holding you up as he kisses you like it’s the last thing he’ll do, like a dying man’s last meal.
Hoisting you up the stairs, and throwing you onto his bed.
He makes a show of taking off his clothes.
Carefully slipping off his blazer, undoing his tie with ease, and throwing it across the room. Unhooking his belt but leaving it looped through the pants, slowly pulling down his zipper, his boxers peeking through.
You watch him do everything, not bothering to take off your own clothes, but he’ll take care of that.
Leon crawls on the bed, only stopping once he’s on top of you, his gaze carefully inspecting every inch of your body under him.
He lets out a low whistle when he’s done, meeting your eyes once again.
“Look at you…”
He purrs, his grin now forming into a wolfish smirk.
“Where should I start first, hm?”
His hands trail your waist, quickly making his way to your thighs, lightly squeezing them.
He wastes no time in tearing your pants off, not bothering to even acknowledge the little sound of a rip, throwing them to the floor.
He runs his thumb on the outside of your soaked panties, smirking as he feels how wet they are. You shudder at the feeling, your thighs instinctively opening wider for him.
“So eager for me already…”
He murmurs, placing a soft kiss on the inner side of your thigh, making you let out a small gasp.
His fingers hook around the band of your underwear, sliding them down until they are completely off, discarding them with the rest of the now-forgotten clothes. You don't care if you never see those panties again, you’d happily give them to him as a late christmas gift.
He runs his fingers through your wet folds, coating them in slick before pushing two in carefully, his eyes watching your every reaction. You draw in a sharp breath, your hands weakly grasping onto the sheets.
He thrusts them deeper into you, hitting spots you could only imagine trying to get on your own. It definitely feels better when he's doing it, his rough thick fingers going in and out of you, making obscene noises that could put a porno to shame.
His thumb rubs against your clit while his other hand pumps in and out of your tight pussy, creating an intense sensation of pleasure and desire for more.
The combination of stimulation from both inside and outside your pussy makes you feel overwhelmed with lust and arousal. Your body responds instinctively, arching off the bed as he continues to fuck your gushing cunt with his thick digits. Your juices flow freely, drenching the mattress beneath you as he fills you up completely.
“Making such pretty noises, feeling good?”
"..yeah... fuck... I need you inside of me..." You say between gasps, still trying to catch your breath as you look at him through lidded eyes, desire and lust all over your face.
He chuckles softly, his voice deep and sensual as he pulls out of you. "Good girl," he says before he positions himself at your entrance once again, holding onto your hips tightly as he prepares to sink back inside of you.
His cock throbs with anticipation, eager to fill you up completely once more. As he pushes forward, the head slides past your tight entrance, causing you to let out another moan of pleasure.
The feeling of being filled by him sends shivers down your spine and makes every nerve in your body tingle with excitement.
Leon smirks down at you, his eyes burning with pure lust as he watches your reaction.
"You like that, don't you?" he asks, his voice low and gravelly as he leans down to place kisses on your neck while he fucks you effortlessly.
His hips move rhythmically, driving his cock deeper into your cunt with each thrust, filling you up completely.
The sound of skin slapping against skin fills the air as he fucks you relentlessly, his powerful movements causing you to stretch and clench around him. You can feel the heat emanating from your core as your body tries to accommodate his size.
"..fuckk....." You moan, unable to contain yourself as he drives himself even further inside of you. "I'm so close... so fucking close."
But before you reach your climax, there's still more for him to do.
He continues to pound away at your cunt, pushing you closer and closer to the edge until you are on the verge of exploding with pleasure, having to chase his own high while he focuses on yours.
The intensity builds up as he works harder and faster, pushing himself towards his own orgasm while trying to please you.
His balls slap against your thighs with every powerful stroke, as he tries to bring both of you to climax together.
"..fuck, pretty girl takin me so well...."
He grunts out loudly between breaths, as he feels his own arousal building up inside him, he tries to maintain control over his ejaculation, but it seems like it's becoming difficult for him to do so.
"Gonna cum soon..." he growls, reaching down and gripping your hips tightly. “..bury it deep inside you..bet you'd like that,” You eagerly nod in agreement while trying to rock your hips against him.
Your lidded eyes are locked onto his, and you can see the desire burning within them. With one final push, you let out a drawn-out moan, signaling your own release.
Meanwhile, Leon feels the telltale signs of his own impending orgasm as he watches you ride out your own pleasure, and he releases his own load with a grunt, burying himself deeper into you as spurt after spurt of thick, white cum shoots into you.
The moment his cock finally stops pulsing and releasing its load, he gasps heavily, pulling out of you slowly while looking at you intently.
He looks relieved, but also satisfied as he looks at the cum flowing out of your wet cunt, slowly pooling beneath you.
"You look so hot right now," he suddenly says, his voice barely above a whisper as he runs his hand through his disheveled hair.
Leon stares at you for a moment longer before settling in next to you, kissing you gently on the forehead as he pulls you against him.
"Mmm...who would've thought the party ended this way…" he whispers softly into your ear before planting a series of tender kisses along your jawline and down your neck.
"This is definitely not how I imagined things going tonight," You admit, your voice barely above a whisper. "But I must say…I'm really enjoying this."
He pauses and looks at you with an arrogant look. “Oh really? I couldn't tell” He mumbles, a clear smirk on his face.
The back and forth lasts for what feels like forever, finally falling asleep hours later.
You may have ignored cleaning up and telling your parents where you were, but you'll deal with that tomorrow.
But right now?
You'll enjoy peacefully sleeping in his arms.

the night was blowing with a gentle breeze of cold, so you were grateful when your mother opened the door of the house. she welcomed you for new year's eve dinner as always, happy and joyful to have you home after some time without seeing you; in fact, the whole family was the same way, elated at your presence as they stood up to greet you and some others waited for you to greet them as you walked through the living room.
the christmas decorations were still visible and the table with large plates served with small snacks made you stir in your coat, feeling at home after so long. however, even so, you didn't feel complete. you had promised to introduce them to your boyfriend, whom you had been dating for a while and had made official.
before you knew it or you were still chatting with your family to kill time, the doorbell rang. you already knew, so you rushed to open it, revealing Leon with a bottle of wine and a rueful smile. "is the party over?" he asked you with that playful tone he used when he talked to you. he had been settling a few last matters of his work - quite mysterious to you - and hence his delay. Apparently your excitement was very evident because you soon caught the attention of your family.
god, was that even real? some people thought so. i mean, such a handsome man, blue eyes, medium tanned skin, tall and well built. with that enigmatic but sweet presence that could be enveloped by his citrus perfume, and the way he dressed, he made you feel on cloud nine. he wore that navy blue shirt you chose for him some time ago, rolled up to the elbows showing part of his strong and defined arms, with the first buttons softly unbuttoned... almost as if it was unintentional. his dress pants, which he hadn't had time to change, clung to his bottom and danced softly on his legs.
he was older than you, you looked like a young girl next to him. and you really couldn't tell how many years they had been together. for some people it was crazy so you just ignored them, and for your friends it was more years of experience, so you were better off with that return.
the dinner passed between looks of astonishment to see you with him, your family asking the typical questions: "where did you meet?" "what does he do for a living?" "are you planning to get married?"... that last one was your grandmother and made Leon's face turn red like flaming fire, causing you to laugh uncomfortably and take him to a more secluded area of the room. there was more privacy but they were still in full view of everyone.
you had missed him. very much. and it showed in your expression, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and your gaze lifted to get a better look at him. "what's wrong, love?" he asked you as his hands caressed your waist over that black dress that caught his attention from the first moment he saw you. both of you really did make a beautiful couple. and your whole family could see it, see the love in your eyes, and see his smile gawking at you.
you didn't say anything, and kissed him as fast as you could. you didn't care who could see you, you just wanted to kiss him and stay glued to his chest until the night was over "y'know you've been the most beautiful thing in my whole year, right?" you asked him, planting a kiss on his chest, gluing your cheek to it while you inhaled his perfume like an addict. your bodies swayed to the beat of the music playing in the air, they were soft movements, almost imperceptible, but that made you realize it was that little world you both had put together.
"and you are the best thing that ever happened to me" he whispered to you, now wrapping you in an embrace while his lips stuck to your hair giving you a soft kiss, whispering you an 'i love you' that you could feel from the deepest part of his heart. it was hard for you to be aware that you were going to start the year with a person like him, and for him to love you was a caress to the soul. you would give your life again and again for him to be well, and he would die as many times as necessary to reincarnate and have you in all his lives. even if it was a pain for Leon to live, for you he would go through it as many times as necessary.
'solo por un beso' began to play on the stereo, a bachata that made Leon laugh softly. you laughed just the same, looked into his eyes and read his heart completely. you swayed your hips to the beat of the song, and he held you tighter, accompanying you as he kissed your cheek with nothing but desire to have you for the next year and all the ones he had left. "you move well" you laughed knowingly in his ear, your arms took him tighter by the shoulders and he laughed, he knew you were teasing, so without pausing he captured your mouth in a playful kiss, both of you laughing and sinking into the dance not only physically but also of your lips.
the music continued, your family watched from afar, they saw you smiling with joy and felt the strong arms of that blond holding you. you didn't care about toasting, you didn't care who saw them, you just wanted to stay in that bubble where the music accompanied them and Leon's hands did what they knew how to do on your body.
you didn't care about the party, after all, at the end of the night Leon would give you the real celebration that you so deserved.

christmas office party
it doesn't matter if you or you don't celebrate christmas, leon would bring you to office parties at RPD. he would wear his office sweater underneath his jacket because the cold was harsh. "it'll be friendly." leon said while brushing his hair one last time before heading out. "but how will it be?" you asked, confused as you fixed his jacket's edges. his sweater was amazingly cute, a firm RPD letters on his chest with trees decorated underneath. leon always wore coats or jackets so this was nice difference.
"i don't know. hopefully, they won't have an awkward santa." leon's blue eyes met yours, "or surprise gift giving." you laugh softly and pat his cheek, "you are still traumatized by the surprise party?" when leon came to work for RPD, they were giving him small gifts for his gun from the local gun shop. they gave him cute gifts of food, games, and the surprise party. leon was temporarily overwhelmed by the job's love, but it was still fun in his mind.
"yes and no. i just feel like i still need to impress them."
you couldn't believe sometimes how liked your boyfriend had to feel. "c'mon, kennedy. they love you. they treat you like a baby. aren't some still helping you navigate the building when it's gets too full." leon shook his head, he looked a bit embarrassed that he still gets lost in the building. "it's more than that."
you nod. "fine. let's show off that you aren't a rookie anymore."
when you two drove leon parked in the garage, he wasn't during his shift, so he looked uneasy, but he immediately shook off his mind. "want a refresher?" leon asked. you shook your head, "not much. the new people will introduce themselves, and the people i have already met will say, hi. i'm fine."
you and leon walked past the other officers who were still working. they waved a polite hi to him. leon held your hand as you walked up the stairs and led you to an office. "you choose the longest path." you teased him.
"it's fine." leon whispered.
finally, you were in the main office were the party was. leon forced an awkward smile. "ah, rookie, you wore the sweater!" one of them said. leon nodded his head, "yup."
"is the rookie wearing the sweater?" another said.
little by little, leon and you realized that no one but leon was wearing the sweater. they took pictures of leon and you with his sweater. leon groaned softly when he saw a pin board of all the other officers wearing a sweater. they clearly loved and respected the rookies, and no matter how leon tried to defend his honor. you knew he liked it.

Four Roses
Disavowed (Krauser x GN! Reader/Krauser x Leon) - Chapter 2
1997
Krauser had retreated to the bar, content to drink a little and enjoy the rock music playing over the speakers. It hadn’t spared him the attention of the youth, but at least most of them didn’t bother him while he was drinking.
Most of them.

December 20th, 1997

Washington DC
The bourbon had a good burn to it as it went down Krauser’s throat. Wasn’t often that he drank, but tonight was a special night, right? Might as well make an exception. It would hopefully make getting through this easier.
He wasn’t the only one who seemed to share that sentiment.
Or maybe the young blood lining the bar around him just wanted to make this more of a party than the ball that had been advertised.
Krauser had never liked these things. Good for morale, they’d said, so he’d shown up, even if he wasn’t interested in peacocking around like some of the older Generals and other ranking officers. Well, not entirely interested. He supposed he got a bit of a kick out of seeing the younger soldiers sweating when he was around, their eyes getting all buggy when they saw his red beret and all the chest candy pinned to his dress uniform.
Rookies trying to make a good impression, and often fumbling the ball.
It was one of the more entertaining aspects of these things, but it did get old after about the first half hour. So, Krauser had retreated to the bar, content to drink a little and enjoy the rock music playing over the speakers. It hadn’t spared him the attention of the youth, but at least most of them didn’t bother him while he was drinking.
Most of them.
“What’s that you’re drinking, sir? Or, what were you drinking?”
It wasn’t exactly the most formal of greetings he’d experienced tonight. In fact, it was almost downright familiar, even if he didn’t recognize the voice. With a raising of his pale brow, Krauser turned to his side, where another person had slid into the open space by the bar to his left. He was surprised to find someone so young raising a brow back at him expectantly, waiting for his answer. Like you were blind to the pins and badges and ribbons that identified Krauser as a decorated officer. Or, maybe, you weren't so much blind as you didn’t care.
As much as his uniform was a warning to you of who you were dealing with, your own was a book for him to read.
Relatively plain, you boasted the standard array of badges, your nameplate, your unit insignia . . . but there were a few things that caught his eye. No combat pins - not exactly surprising. A little cross over your heart with a rifle suspended beneath it - sharpshooter. A red bar just above your right breast pocket - meritorious unit commendation. And, finally, three gold chevrons proudly displayed on your shoulder.
A Sergeant.
Probably thinking you were on top of the world for having earned that third chevron so early in your career.
A young hotshot with more balls than brains. That was Krauser’s first impression of you. It was a hell of a lot more entertaining than the rest of the rank and file, so despite the insubordination, Krauser answered you with an amused smirk. “Four Roses.”
“Kentucky. Nice,” you hummed your approval, then turned to the bartender. “I’ll have one of those.” You spoke with a confidence that Krauser wasn’t sure you’d earned, but again he couldn’t help but find it entertaining, if nothing else.
Of course, that confident smirk on your face faltered a little when the bartender looked you over and asked what seemed to be the one question you hadn’t accounted for. “Can I see your ID?”
You blinked, and Krauser’s smirk only grew. “Seriously?” you asked, like you were legitimately offended. Definitely someone thinking they’re on top of the world.
The poor bartender looked a little apprehensive as he nodded. “If you’re under twenty-one, I can’t serve you.”
Krauser wasn’t sure if he was impressed or not as you tilted your head, giving the man a discerning look. “So I’m old enough to die for my country but not old enough to drink?” you asked, and the bartender’s face drained of color. "Seems a little fucked up to me."
Oh, Krauser liked you.
“Come on, you’re torturing the poor kid.” Now that voice, the Major did recognize, even if the last time he’d heard it had been some years ago. It took him a moment to place, because even when he had heard that voice, it hadn’t been often. Age had deepened it since then, but Krauser supposed the same could be said of him. He turned just in time to see Simon Reynolds - Captain Simon Reynolds, judging by the badges on his uniform - approach. He’d aged well, his dark skin offset by graying, short-cropped hair, his smile just as bright as those days spent at boot camp all those years ago. Simon had always been a charmer. Jack hadn’t spent much time with him, being a few years younger than the now-Captain and a few weeks behind him in training. Still, he’d run into him enough times over the years to know the man decently well. Served with enough to recognize him as a damn fine soldier. Even if he got far too attached to the men under his command for Krauser’s taste. You were no exception, it seemed. Reynolds’ words weren’t directed at the bartender, but rather at you. Spoken with an almost paternal affection, and Krauser knew it was likely due to the matching unit insignias you both wore.
Always had a soft spot for troublemakers, Simon.
“Still wrangling the spitfires, huh?” Krauser chuckled, and Reynolds turned his way, seeming to notice him for the first time.
That smile he wore only widened. “Well, look what the cat dragged in.” He wondered if you got your disregard for formality from Reynolds. Probably. Callused hands clasped in a firm handshake, and the two officers grinned at each other. Reynolds’ eyes caught on the pins on Krauser’s shoulders. “Thought I heard something about you making Major a while back.”
“And you’re still stuck at Captain?”
“Hey,” Reynolds defended with a smile, “if that means I don’t have to get all stuffy with the big wigs all the time, that’s fine by me.”
“You two know each other?” you asked, inserting yourself into the conversation casually.
Krauser and Reynolds both nodded. “Yep,” the Captain nodded, answering for Krauser - which the Major was happy to let him do. At least, until Reynolds went on. “Saw his sorry ass get the shit kicked out of him his first day of basic, right before I graduated. Now look at him,” he tapped Krauser’s broad and metal-bedecked chest. “Got enough medals to make a cast of himself in gold. Not that anyone should immortalize that ugly mug.”
“You speak that way to all superior officers?” Krauser smirked. “No wonder you haven’t been promoted.”
That just made you grin wider as you listened. “Really? Cause I talk that way to him all the time and I still made Sergeant,” you grinned, too proud as you gestured over to the Captain with your chevron bedecked arm. Had to be a pretty recent development, then, if you were bragging about it that much.
“Careful, kid,” Reynolds cautioned, “you’ll pull a muscle patting yourself on the back.”
Krauser laughed, glad for some honest conversation at last. “A Sergeant who can’t drink? Not often you see that.” The bartender didn’t look thrilled to be roped back into the conversation.
“Oh I can drink,” you insisted with another grin like a sparking flame. “Here, I’ll prove it to you-”
Reynolds put a hand on your shoulder. “Sergeant, give it a rest. Plenty of fun to be had tonight without you getting wasted and losing this man his job in the process.”
“I’m just saying,” you went on, looking over your shoulder at the Captain. “Not like I won’t be twenty-one in a few months anyway. I could die between now and then, you know.” Now, you turned back to the bartender. “How would you feel, knowing you could have given me a drink but refused because of some bullshit rule, and I died without knowing what it was like to share a bourbon with my comrades?” You were relentless, weren’t you? Again, Krauser found himself entertained.
And, again, the bartender just looked shell-shocked, probably regretting his decision to pick up this shift.
Reynolds just rolled his eyes, about to speak further.
Krauser beat him, this time. “I’ll take another of the same,” he told the bartender, who looked even more cautious as his eyes flitted between you and the two older men at your side. The kid wasn’t dumb, he knew what was going on. Eventually, though, he must have decided that, hey, he was technically selling to someone of age. In fact, he was even kind enough to grab a new glass, one he filled with the same Four Roses Krauser had been drinking before. Smart kid.
He didn’t look surprised or too bothered when Krauser handed the drink to you, even as Reynolds looked less than thrilled.
You, though, beamed as you took the glass.
“Subverting my command?” the Captain asked, raising a brow.
“Eh,” Krauser shrugged, “the Sergeant made a compelling argument.”
“Glad to know the right people are in charge,” you grinned, taking a sip of the alcohol and doing your damned best not to make a face as it went down.
Relentless and sharp - both words that applied to you. Krauser nearly told you that you could pay him back for it, some day. Not enough liquor in his system yet to make that bad of a call, luckily.
“Alright,” Reynolds shook his head, shoving you away from the bar. “Go on. Go make sure Morales isn’t doing something stupid.”
You gave a salute with your free hand, perfect but for the way your lips curved up in a victorious smile. “Sir, yes, sir,” you nodded, and then you were off to accomplish your mission.
Captain and Major both watched you go, and the former shook his head again as he settled in at the bar.
“That one seems like a handful,” Krauser observed, and he wished he could say he was surprised by the proud smile that took Reynolds’ face.
“Oh, you have no idea,” he confirmed. “Damn fine soldier, though. Probably put up with too much because of that, but . . .” he trailed off with a shrug. “Not bad to have someone to call you out on your bullshit, hm?”
“Speak for yourself,” Krauser gave a humored huff, looking back at you as you joined a crush of younger soldiers, all smiles and laughs as you nursed the drink you’d been given.
“Alright, you old bastard,” Reynolds scoffed, “good to see you haven’t changed much.”
“Not as old as you. And good to see you’re still taking in strays,” Krauser shot right back.
Reynolds didn’t seem to mind the jab. “Old habits.” He looked to the young bartender, who was listening far too intently for his own good. “You gonna ask me for my ID too, or can I get a beer?”
The bartender jumped, like he hadn’t really been expecting to be addressed. “Oh, no, sir,” he said, and Krauser laughed again.
“Thought you were overseas,” the Major started up the conversation again, once the beer was in Reynolds’ hands.
The Captain nodded. “I am, technically. Up in Finland. Got lucky this year, got to go home and see the family for the holidays.” Family. Krauser had never understood how soldiers could manage the job and a family. Then again, he knew plenty of them who didn’t manage both.
Reynolds didn’t seem like one of them. “Good for you,” Krauser nodded, ordering himself another bourbon.
“Good for them, too,” Reynolds gestured with his bottle towards you and the other soldiers you spoke to. “Lot of them haven’t seen their families in a while.”
“Your own family know that you’ve adopted a bunch of Army brats?”
Reynolds laughed, but didn’t exactly deny it. “Yeah, not exactly the kids that the missus wanted, eh?” Still, there was undeniable affection in his eyes, for you and the others. Krauser huffed a laugh to himself when he saw it, shaking his head.
“Not exactly kids, period,” he went on, because based on what he'd just seen, calling you a kid would be a disservice.
“No,” Reynolds agreed. “Lot of ‘em have had it pretty rough.”
“So they joined the Army.”
“You know how it goes.”
“Guess I do.”
Reynolds pursed his lips together, taking another swig of his beer. “Well,” he smiled, taking a step back from the bar, “if you’re ever in Finland, look me up. I’ll have the Sergeant give you a tour of the base. Pay you back for the drink.”
Krauser doubted he’d be heading that way, but he didn’t write off the idea. After all, he never knew exactly where his job would take him. And besides, as his eyes drifted back towards where you stood, he found himself wondering if you would be as brazen while on duty. Something told him that your fire didn't die easy. “You’ve got a deal,” he said to Reynolds, and the older man nodded once in affirmative.
“See you around, Major,” he said, and then stepped off to join you and the others. Krauser just hummed and took another sip of that bourbon.
Not the worst of these damned parties he’d ever been to after all.

A/N: Young Sarge means the actual world to me, what a little hooligan.
Also at long last I get to utilize the one piece of military life that I've actually experienced: going to a military ball 😂 Wherein I did witness a superior officer buy a drink for my date who was 19 at the time. Art imitates life.

leon kennedy
♡ leon is the type to dress up with you for halloween. despite the two of you being adults, he insists you at least walk around the block to enjoy the decorations.
♡ he invites you to the party the police station throws and gets pranked almost as soon as he arrives.
♡ he enjoys carving pumpkins with you and then roasting the seeds. his jack-o-lanterns are usually on the cuter side, though it's not from a lack of effort of trying to make them scary. he's just really bad at carving pumpkins.
♡ "come on, this one's really scary!" leon insisted as he turned his pumpkin around to reveal uneven jagged teeth. the dopey eyes made the pumpkin anything but scary, though. he seemed so proud, though, that you nodded your head, agreeing that it was scary. "let's give him a name. he needs a properly scary name."
you grinned as you turned your pumpkin around to present a much more even smile, though it admittedly wasn't scary either. "what about jack?"
"you're not very creative."
"that's what he is, isn't he?" you gave leon a pout, and he gave you a briefly amused look before nodding his head. "jack the pumpkin it is then."
carlos oliveira
♡ carlos isn't the biggest on halloween in particular, but he does insist that you two watch at least one scary movie.
♡ he always orders pizza and puts on the cheesiest movie he can find for the both of you to enjoy the night.
♡ he really just secretly likes the way you cling to his arm whenever you get scared. hence why he's decided to make horror movie-watching a halloween tradition.
♡ "don't tell me you're scared already?" carlos looked down at you, an amused twinkle in his eyes. you glared up at him, pinching his arm in protest. "ow!" he complained as he took a bite of his slice of pizza.
"you know i hate horror movies," you insisted as you looked back at the screen. carlos tilted your chin back towards him, grinning as you refused to meet his eyes. his thumb lazily caressed your jawline.
he leaned down, lips grazing the corner of your mouth. "it's not about watching the movie anyways."
chris redfield
♡ chris hated halloween. he was all for fun and parties, but he'd seen enough scary things to last him a lifetime.
♡ he did know, however, that you enjoyed halloween quite a bit. so while he refused to go out with you during the night, he did agree to stay home and make some treats.
♡ when he saw you were upset about him not wanting to go to a party with you, he surprised you by making special halloween cookies. they, of course, were from a package, but he had tried his best.
♡ "come on, you can't pout at me all night." chris complained as he wrapped his arms loosely around your waist, bending down so he could be more eye-level with you. "these cookies might suck, but i made them with love."
you looked at chris through your lashes, unimpressed, but you took a bite of the little pumpkin cookie. you didn't want to admit it because of your pride, but you mumbled a little, "not bad." he could see the grin trying to slip up on your face and knew that you were pleased.
"you're a messy eater. let me try some." chris hummed, but instead of going for the cookie, he was quite content to pull you in for a kiss.
ethan winters
♡ when rose was old enough, the two of you had immediately gone to take her trick or treating. you both wanted to give rose a normal life to help her forget all the bad things that had happened. and to help ethan.
♡ so you both made it a point to make lots of memories with the little girl. ethan often times wasn't the type to dress up, but he didn't mind helping you as long as you were practical.
♡ he was usually the more responsible one between the two of you and always insisted on pampering you and making sure you were okay.
♡ as rose waddled up to a house, staying in your sight the whole time, you and ethan close behind her, ethan saw you shiver. "cold?" he asked, lips quirking slightly.
before the two of you had left the house, he had insisted you take a jacket to which you refused. a bad decision now, but you didn't want him to be smug about it. "not at all." you grumbled.
ethan rolled his eyes playfully as he slipped his jacket off and wrapped it around your shoulders before following after sweet rosemary, hand in hand with you.

Halloween with Leon (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing ~ Leon Dompteur x Reader
Word Count ~ 1k
Warnings ~ None, except for the fact that Leon only appears in flashback in this fic, since it's just Part 1. But there's a BIG warning for some adorable Licht and Yves content ahead!
Tumblr media
It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a Halloween party with the princes of Rhodolite. You wished you could claim credit for the brilliant idea, but in reality, it was Yves. He conjured up the thought one brisk afternoon in the garden. You had relaxed into the sofa, where a table of autumn-themed treats sat before you. Yves had truly outdone himself this time. There were leaf-shaped cinnamon cookies, pumpkin spice cupcakes with adorable sugar leaves and icing pumpkins decorating the tops, a caramel cheesecake, pumpkin pecan pudding, caramel apple tarts, and a beautifully decorated chocolate peanut butter cake.
Yves handed you a cup of warm, caramel flavored coffee, and you took it with a grateful smile. Licht had already grabbed a cookie from the pumpkin shaped serving dish and was quietly munching on it when Yves finally sat down across from you. “So, you and Leon went to the pumpkin patch a few days ago?” Yves smiled over his cup of tea, his clear blue eyes pinning you with questions unasked. In response, your cheeks flushed ever so slightly and you stole a glance into your mug.
“Mhm,” you hummed, knowing you had yet to hear the end of it.
“Well, how was it? Don’t think you can get away with not telling me. I’ll either find out from you or I’ll go to Leon myself. Now which do you want it to be?”
“Okay, okay! I’ll tell you, have mercy!” you surrendered, giggling.
“That’s more like it!” Yves set his cup down and clapped his hands together. “Ready for this, Licht? This is when we both find out if my lessons paid off!” Licht nodded and they both turned their full attention to you.
“Well, we went to the pumpkin patch, and there were quite a few people who recognized Leon and wanted to talk to him.”
Yves rolled his eyes. “Didn’t they see that they were interrupting a very important date?!”
“Yves!” you chided him as the color in your cheeks deepened.
“Well it’s true!” Yves countered. “If they had known how long-awaited this outing was, maybe they would have had the decency to give you two some privacy!”
“Leon is well liked everywhere, Yves.” Lict replied calmly.
“Licht is right.” you said. “No matter when we went or where we went, people would want to talk to him, and he would oblige them. It’s part of who he is.” You paused, wondering if you should let the next bit slip, but you figured it was no use trying to hide it from the 5th and 6th princes anymore. “It’s part of what I love about him.” you muttered, and the irritation in Yves’s eyes disappeared almost instantaneously, replaced by a mischievous gleam.
“Oh, yes?” He quirked an intrigued eyebrow at you. “What else do you love about Leon?”
“Yveeeeees,” you drawled in exhasperation.
“Alright, so what happened next?”
“Well, once we got our pumpkins, we decided to get some food.-”
“Oh! Did you use the method I taught you?!” Yves cried and you chuckled.
“I tried to, yeah.”
“How did it work?” He leaned forward, an expectant smile on his lips.
“Leon saw through it right away and just laughed.” you shrugged, and Yves’s shoulders fell.
“Ugh.” Yves swiped a hand over his face in defeat, while your smile widened. He looked up and met your gaze after several seconds, and his expression shifted from disappointment into suspicion. “Why are you smiling like that?”
“Because while he may have seen through my act, he knew what I was trying to do, so he picked me up and carried me to where they were selling food.” You covered your eyes with your sweater sleeves as you thought back to being hauled up against the 4th prince’s warm, solid body in front of all those people.
“I knew it!” Yves screeched in triumph. “I knew it would work!”
You laughed loudly and reached for a tarte, stealing a glance at Licht, who had already gone through a few more sweets during the conversation. Even he was smiling, if only barely, the sight uncharacteristic to his usually solemn countenance. You couldn’t be more thankful for these princes - your friends. “I guess my favorite season is lucky for me.” You chuckled as you lifted the tarte to your lips.
“Wait a second…” Yves gave pause, then erupted. “That’s it!”
“What’s it?” You echoed, your tarte still hovering in front of your mouth.
“Your favorite season, your favorite holiday! We can capitalize on this!”
“Yves, what are you talking about?”
“You want Leon to take the next step in your relationship, right?”
“...yes.” you murmured, your face suddenly feeling hot again. Yves didn’t realize just how much he was insinuating, but you guessed that Licht did, what with how he turned his face away from you with slightly reddened ears as if to say, “I don’t want to hear this!”
“Then we need to make him jealous!” Yves rattled on, unaware. “We’ll host a party for us and the nobles - that includes you, of course. It can be a masquerade ball for Halloween!”
“This sounds like an amazing idea, Yves!” You piped up. “But, tell me how a masquerade ball will make Leon jealous.”
“He won’t get the chance to ask you to be his partner.” Yves grinned wickedly.
“Who will be my partner then?” you asked, still uncertain about where this was going.
“Me or Licht, of course!” he beamed, but Licht’s frown deepened. Thankfully, before you could say the words yourself, Licht was already saying them.
“Leon knows that neither of us are romantically interested in her. He also knows we would never have unsavory intentions with her. That won’t make him jealous at all.”
“Hmph.” Yves dropped his chin into his hand, seeing the truth in Licht’s words, but not a way around them.
“Uhm.” you cleared your throat and their eyes were on you again.
“I know someone who might be willing…”

Chapter One
Francesca's POV
Friday night. Another college party. The 4th semester started three weeks ago and I already feel like I've been to enough parties for a lifetime. Me and the girls stop in front of the fraternity hosting the party, observing the decoration - which consists basically of a huge banner that reads "Happy 21st Birthday, Leon!!!" with questionable calligraphy and ink stains here and there.
"Ugh, men... why can't they make a simple banner right? Nothing in this decoration is appealing to the eyes." - Cami mumbles by my side and gets a laugh from Vilu.
"Cami, don't be mean. The boys did their best..."
I watch the place while my best friends discuss the manual skills of our male friends. Some people come in and out of the place, the music is muffled from outside and some flashes of colored lights escape through the windows. In the midst of the groups of people circulating around the facade of the house, I see Marco. He sees me too and smiles.
"Hey, I saw that." Camila nudges my arm. 'I was already wondering where our dear Marco Tavelli was. I haven't seen him in ages."
"Tonight promises to be interesting, huh, Fran?" Violetta laughs, teasing me. I roll my eyes and smile.
"Ha Ha. Girls, you know how my story with Marco is. Since he requested a transfer to London, we decided to take a break from... whatever it was that we had. I adore him, but it wasn't meant to be. Good thing he moved before we got into a serious relationship."
"Well, I like him. If you guys atarted dating, I'd approve 100%."
"I know, Vilu. You made that clear since the first time I bumped into him in the university corridors."
"Well, what can I say. I'm a romantic" she says, shrugging and then slotting her arms between mine and Cami's. "Now, let's go in. My boyfriend is waiting for me inside and I'm really in the mood for a drink."
***
The party has been going on for 3 hours now, and I'm slightly drunk. Not drunk like Cami, who is currently engaged in a dance battle - if you can call it that - with a group of Brazilian boys, but drunk enough to stumble twice on my way to the sofa in the corner of the room. Our whole group of friends is here tonight, as well as the rest of the entire university. After all, it's not every day that the motocross king and vocalist of the biggest band in Buenos Aires gives a birthday party. Funny how even in college, you can still feel like you're in high school sometimes.
I sit on the sofa, finally, and emit an involuntary sound as I feel my legs relax for the first time tonight. I close my eyes and lean my head against the wall, letting the music enter my ears and take over me. Although I'm not a fan of this song - or more specifically, of the person singing it - I start humming the lyrics of Destinada a Brillar quietly. After a few minutes, I finally open my eyes and instantly regret it.
I see the guy sitting on the other end of the sofa, all dressed in black leather and his hair messy, staring at me with a mocking expression.
"What?" I ask impatiently.
Diego doesn't answer, he just laughs and turns his gaze to the crowd. Ugh, this guy….
Vilu and him have kissed a few times at parties just like this one, when her relationship with León wasn't going well and they took a break. I never liked that jerk and definitely never understood what she saw in him. Camila says it's the magic of bad boys, that seduces you when you least expect and makes you want more and more. Anyway, I wasn't surprised at all when my best friend came to me telling that Diego had gone braging to León about the great time he had with her the night before. Vilu eventually forgave Diego, but I didn't. This guy is always looking for trouble and seems proud of being an idiot.
It's no secret to anyone that Diego Hernandez is involved in illegal stuff. He's a drug dealer and I've heard that he once stole some shit from a rich girl from the university. Normally, I don't have much contact with him. In fact, I don't even remember that he studies with us most of the time. But from time to time he reappears, getting into fights or... hanging out with Marco.
Yes, Diego and Marco are friends. Best friends. That will never stop sounding crazy to me, considering that Marco is the sweetest and most respectful boy I've ever met. When I first started hanging out with Marco - before he told me he was moving to the other side of the world and ended our "relatioship" - I tried to ignore my convictions about Diego and have a good relationship with him, for everyone's sake. But that's just impossible. Diego is everything I disapprove of.
"Hey, Di." a short girl with curly hair and dark red lips approaches and starts talking to him (read: flirting). "You disappeared. I missed you this week in class."
I roll my eyes and try to ignore the conversation happening next to me. I try to focus on watching my drunk friends doing embarrassing things in the middle of people and it actually works. Until a guy with an unhappy expression enters my field of vision and starts approaching with wide, firm steps.
"Dude, are you crazy?" the guy yells when he stops in front of Diego, who just looks boredly up at his face from under his long, thick lashes. "You're kissing my ex-girlfriend in front of me, knowing damn well we broke up four days ago?"
"Man, you're drunk. Just go back where you were, I'm not looking for trouble, okay?" he replies. The girl, now sitting on his lap, huffs and rolls her eyes at her ex-boyfriend.
"Do you think I'm joking, asshole?" The guy's fingers tighten around the beer bottle in his hand, and I see a vein in his forehead about to explode. "I'm not afraid of you, Hernandez. Don't doubt that I'm capable of beating your ass up."
At this point, people around are already paying attention to the discussion. The music is still too loud but it's possible to hear some cheers coming from drunk boys. I look back at Diego and he slowly takes the girl off his lap and stands up, facing the man.
"Dude, seriously. I don't want to fight, okay? I'm not doing anything, just enjoying the party. And you should too. If you want to fight, go fight alone. It's not my fault your girl chose to spend her nightsitting on my lap". He stares the guy with firm and challenging eyes.
And suddenly, the guy punches Diego in the face.
Before I could understand what was happening, a fight broke out and everyone around me started shouting. Some people backed away as punches were thrown, forming an circle around the two fighters. The girl with red lips - now smeared - screamed desperately. I was stuck between the wall behind me and the two men fighing in front of me, meaning i couldn't leave to a safer place. After what felt like an eternity, a few boys managed to hold the furious guy for a few moments. And then, before I realized what I was doing, I pulled Diego by the arm firmly, guiding him to the nearest bathroom door, pushing him inside and entering right after him, slamming the door shut. When I locked the door, I turned to face Diego.
"Are you fucking serious?" I shouted, irritated. "Can't you go to a party without ruining everyone's night? Is fighting the only thing you know? You -"
Suddenly, aggressive knocks on the door behind me made me jump, and the drunk guy's slurred voice spitting threats to Diego only made me more stressed out.
"OH MY GOD, JUST SHUT UP! GO AWAY, THE FIGHT IS OVER, DOUCHEBAG!" I shouted back.
After some time, the knocking stopped, and I heard what sounded like León's voice yelling. I spin around to face Diego, feeling my face hot with angry.
"Are you happy? This fight just ruined León's birthday. And now I'm stuck in this bathroom with you because aparently I'm the only one trying to prevent the death of two young men tonight. Why are you even here? For God's sake, I--" I interrupted my speech when I see blood dripping from Diego's fingers, where his hand was holding his head. "Holy sh...did he hit you with a bottle?" I asked in shock.
"That's what it seems" Diego says dryly.
I run to grab something to clean the blood. I hand the toilet paper to Diego and rummage through the cabinets for some first aid supplies.
"Fuck, this hurts," Diego cursed while trying to stop the bleeding with the paper.
Finally, I found a box of band-aids and other first-aid materials and turned to the boy leaning on the sink counter, staring at the injury through the mirror reflection, clearly not knowing what to do. I took a deep impatient breath.
"You know what? Here, let me do this." I guided Diego to the edge of the bathtub, and he sat down, becoming shorter than me and giving me a good view of the huge cut on his scalp. "This is going to hurt," I say, short and to the point. I take a clean cloth and wet it a little, then bring it close to the wound, and when I finally touched Diego, he flinched and made a noise of pain.  I clench my jaw and sigh, trying to contain my frustration.
"Fuck," he's tense, the word is said through gritted teeth. "Careful".
"I'm trying".
I go for it again, and this time, Diego doesn't flinch. After long minutes, I managed to clean the entire wound, including the blood that had dripped onto his ear, and improvised a terribly made bandage.
And then, for the first time, I looked down at his face, and Diego was staring at me attentively. I ignored it.
"Your eyebrow and lip are cut too," I stated.
"Really? Huh, that's funny. I hadn't noticed the bloody taste in my mouth and the pulsating pain above my eye," he said sarcastically.
"Ha." I said, annoyed. "For God's sake, what did I do to deserve this? I knew I should've stayed at home studying for my next exam," I kept rambling while Diego just stood still, letting me continue to clean up the mess on his face.
When I finally touched the gauze to his lip, it twitched, and Diego gasped weakly. I unintentionally raised my eyes to his, and something inside of me softened as soon as those big brown iris met mine. And before I could bring myself to apologize for a reason I didn't fully understand, he whispered a quick "sorry" and  swallowed dry, while still holding my gaze. I looked away.
When I finished my work, my annoyance had dissipated a little, and I was able to talk to him again without spitting curses and yelling.
"That's the best I can do," I step back, observing my work.
"Thanks," he says weakly, standing up slowly and walking toward the mirror. Upon seeing the messy bandage, Diego let out a low mocking laugh. He's laughing. "We already know you definitely can't be a nurse."
I stare at the man in front of me incredulously, my mouth open. "I'm sorry? You're seriously gonna make fun of me after I saved you from bleeding to death?" Diego chuckles again and raises his arms in a sign of surrender.
"Okay, yeah, sorry. You did an awesome job fixing my bleeding head and face, okay?."
As I was about to reply something, a new voice echoes from outside again. "Fran? Diego? Are you guys in there?" I recognize Violetta's voice. "León already kicked that boy out. You guys can come out now."
I look at Diego as I respond to my friend. "Hey, Vilu. Yeah, I'm coming." I pass right by him, towards the door and unlock it, but before i open it and finally leave that crazy situation, I turn to Diego one last time.
"Just to be clear, the fact that I didn't leave you bleeding in the middle of this party doesn't mean I like you or can stand you. And just because that lunatic started the fight doesn't change the fact that you also messed up. Next time, do everyone a favor and don't show your face around here, okay?"
And with that, I walk out of the bathroom, without looking back.

Thought #1: The yandere trope would be a really poor fit, same as "he drinks to drink away his sorrows (broodingly)". Add "villain who needs love to reform himself" to that list.
Overall, I'd lean towards more mature characters, who have their stuff (mostly) sorted out. Not the constant-walking-festival-slash-soap-opera-of-a-person, not oh-convince-me-i-am-worthy-of-even-existing-(we-are-going-to-spend-the-next-15-chapters-pretending-i-don't-love-you), and probably not the i-am-your-boss-but-also-a-major-major-BRAT.
I think it'd lean towards characters who'd be ready to settle down, and who'd be competent enough to live on their own. They should know what is important to them, why exactly that is the case, and what compromises they may be willing to make. Generally, I think it'd be better if they had rather balanced approach towards most things -- after all, given all its complexity, it is hard to see the world as purely black-and-white.
+Emotionally mature, with good understanding of the fact that relationships are both give and take. +"Love is a choice that needs to be made daily" sort of mindset - good idea on why effort matters (and that effort doesn't necessarily need to be some grand gestures).
Suggested Characters: Shingen (IkeSen), Sasuke (IkeSen), Comte (IkeVamp), Theo (IkeVamp; maybe? He has some potential), Leon (IkePri; maybe? He does lean towards "boyish" on the charm scale...), Rio (IkePri; maybe? As before).

Leon Dompteur. Propose to you. Ch. 1-3. Premium End. His Pov
Chapter 1.
Evening Party.
Leon, having become king, became even busier than usual.
Leon went away to talk to the Duke.
(I don't want Leon to defend me. I want to be someone who can support Leon.)
Ever since MC became Leon's lover, she has been trying every day: learning domestic politics, languages, practicing manners and dancing, socializing with aristocrats.
MC befriended two ladies her age.
The heroine met Celia and Arlette/Allette. The two girls, usually the center of attention, were hiding today. Their fathers are quarreling, for Arlette has "stolen" Celia's fiancé.
But Celia is not worried about that; it is only a "symbolic" engagement. What's worse is that she won't be able to talk to her friend.
MC tries to console Celia. The noble ladies laugh and praise the heroine for her kindness. This is why she was chosen by the king.
The heroine is saddened to herself; she is not an official fiancée, but only a lover.
(Leon never brings it up.)
Leon appears, having apologized to the ice, he takes her to the Duke.
He introduces her as his "beloved."
The Duke is pleased with the girl. He has heard that she is a commoner, but it does not seem so.
Leon: Yeah, I'm proud of you, sweetheart.
As he embraced her, the king smiled.
Tumblr media
Leon: With MC next to me, I can see a bright future no matter what the situation is.
Leon: I feel motivated to work hard to achieve that future. Isn't that great?
Leon and the Duke laughed. The nobleman's expression softened.
(Leon is beautiful, after all.)
She has so much to learn to become a woman worthy to stand beside him.
The girl did not notice how Leon, looking at her, became thoughtful.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Leon's room. After party.
They, sitting on the bed, discuss the party.
MC: Did I act right?
Leon: What do you think?
MC: I think I did okay.
Leon: Then that's your answer. I said I was proud of you, and I wasn't lying.
Leon: Also, it's true that I always see a bright future when you're here.
Tumblr media
Leon: Wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, I feel happy.
Firmly, hugging MC her lover laid her down on the sheets.
Leon: ....MC, I love you.
Leon: [quotes novel] If I don't get your love, I'd rather kill myself. Without y.our love, life is empty.
MC: I love Leon. As long as I have Leon's love, I'm happy no matter where I am or what I do.
Kissing and sex. [But it's free sex, so other than "they shared each other's warmth", nothing was written. 😒]
When the girl woke up, she saw that her man was awake and looking at her affectionately.
(My sleeping face he saw. It's embarrassing.)
MC: Leon, why are you looking at me?
Tumblr media
Leon: Ah, you're so cute when you sleep.
After stroking her head, the king changed his tone.
Leon: I have a favor to ask of you.
He wants to have a tea party, it's an important job and if a girl needs advice or help let her feel free.
It's a very important job, MC thinks. It's a big responsibility.
(So Leon believes in me.)
MC: Great. I'll do my best.
(I really want to be the woman who can support Leon....)
Leon: Thank you.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
The days went by...
She was selecting nobles, making lists, choosing menus and locations for the tea party.
MC was tired, but satisfied. Each day is very busy.
(By working hard every day...I was able to grow properly.)
And Leon noticed that.
Chapter 2.
The night before the tea party.
Leon came to MC bedroom, he made tea.
(My favorite herbal tea....)
MC asks Leon why he doesn't ask how the preparations for the party are going.
Instead of answering, he kisses her. And asks the girl to be more confident.
Leon: I won't let you do what you think you can't do.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Tea Party Day.
The tables are decorated with flowers, sweets... There are lots of smiles all around.
However, two men are arguing... MC sees her prince.
(... Normally Leon would have taken the initiative to run the place, right? But right now he's not doing anything.)
(That's because...you trust me and leave everything to me.)
These two, former friends, are the fathers of Celia and Aletta/Arletta.
But MC notices that they are more concerned with themselves than with their daughters.
What would Leon have done at that moment? After all, he is so good at winning people's hearts.
Under the silent approval of her lover, she approaches the two men.
Saying that she is a friend of Aletta and Celia. They were open and friendly to her.
MC: I want them to think for themselves and act accordingly, not follow the crowd...
MC: I respect those girls who take care of their "true happiness".
MC: You can see the mutual respect they have for each other.
The two men are looking down, silent. Maybe there's a chance they'll reconcile. In the meantime, they left... The festivities continued. Someone tapped the girl on the shoulder.
Leon complimented her. MC admitted that she was imitating him.
MC: When you convince people, Leon always leaves the final decision to the other person, right?
Tumblr media
Leon: Hahaha... imitating me, right? Good idea, right?
MC: Just as Leon was watching me from the sidelines, I was watching Leon from the closest point of view.
Leon: After the tea party is over, I want to talk to you about something.
Chapter 3. Premium End. His POV
A few days before the tea party.
After the party. MC is lying next to Leon, and he is scrolling through recent events in his head.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Flashback:
He sees MC chatting with Alette and Celia. And he hears them talking. How they praise MC, how they say she and Leon are right for each other.
End of flashback.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
He has wanted to make the girl his fiancée for a long time, but waits until "her heart is ready."
MC is a serious hard worker.
If she takes on the burden of being the king's bride without feeling confident, she will drive herself into a corner.
Leon sees that his beloved has the good ability to be queen.
As she sleeps, Leon strokes her head. MC smiles.
Tumblr media
(Laughs. Maybe she's having a good dream.)
Nevertheless, a plan has emerged in his mind. He wants MC to organize a tea party.
He believes that organizing the event can help her feel confident.
Watching MC's energetic work in her spare time has become his secret pleasure every day.
Jin: MC, you've been working hard lately. Is it for him? You're so sweet and energetic.
Jin approaches and throws a teasing glance at the prince, to which Leon smiles back.
Leon: Yeah, isn't she cute?
(I love watching MC work so hard.)
(That you're there for me is really the most important thing.)
(But..... It's an undeniable fact that if you become the King's wife it will be a heavy burden on you.)
(I know you have the strength to overcome difficulties.)
(Besides, even if you say you will do your best, I want to support you.)
Jin: Leon, you are so happy.
Tumblr media
Leon: Oh, I'm happy. It's all because of her.
(Yeah...I'm happy.)
(...But I want to be happier. And I want to make her happy too.)
It turned out that the outfits and rings were ready a long time ago.
(Sorry, greedy lover?)
MC saw Leon and threw herself into his arms.
(I'll be sure to make you happy. So, excuse me?)
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Tea Party Ceremony.
The two nobles quarreled, but MC showed wisdom and perseverance, and reconciled them.
(You certainly have what it takes to be a queen.)
When he told her of his sincere feelings, the heroine's eyes lit up like a child's.
She told him that what helped her cope was the thought of how Leon would have handled the situation. She could study him because she was the closest one.
Leon, on the other hand, thinks about how he wants it to be forever, that both he and MC are there for each other.
Leon: After the tea party is over, I want to talk to you about something.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
On the balcony.
Leon puts a ring on the girl's finger without a word.
She is shocked.
Leon: If you know what I mean?
MC's cheeks turn red.
Tumblr media
Leon: I'm the only one who can make you happier than anyone else, right?
(I'll take all of you, just as you took all of me.)
(I'll take all the loneliness and sadness and turn them into happiness with my own hands.)
After that he kissed her fingers.
(I want to make you my own.)
(I want you to feel my love, I want you to melt, I want you to be able to think of nothing else.)
Leon: Of course, this ring is proof that you and I are going to live together. And it's proof that I will love you for life.
Leon: I swear I'll make you happier than anyone else in the world.
MC is trembling. The prince embraces her.
Leon: Every day I will teach you a happiness that surpasses "yesterday".
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Leon himself began to prepare the wedding. He invited his brothers, chose a place, and asked Sariel to be a witness/to perform the ceremony.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Engagement Day.
Leon walked beside MC, who was wearing an engagement dress.
Eventually, as they walked up the aisle, they swore their love and exchanged rings.
In the solemn setting, Sariel and the brothers watch Leon and MC with gentle smiles.
(I was alone, but now I have everyone's blessing and I can be with the one I love.)
(Even if I told the old me, he wouldn't believe me. Such a dream cannot exist...)
Tumblr media
(This is my, and only my, happiness.)
(I have MC, and I am here because I am living my life.)
(Because "me" is a different person than that Leon.)
Leon: I love you with all my heart. The fact that I love you is what makes me who I am.
Leon: I'll never let you go. Stay close to me, okay?
(I won't let you go... I can't let you go.)
Then they signed their engagement letter, and the engagement ceremony ended safely.
━━━━━━━༻❀✿❀༺━━━━━━━
Leon: From now on, don't take your eyes off me, okay?
Leon: Because I'm not letting you out of my sight either. For the rest of my life, right?
(I want to see your smile, your sad face, your angry face. I love you just the way you are.)
Tumblr media
Leon: Let's continue to make life more interesting than a story, just the two of us, hand in hand.
MC: Yeah. I'll... I'll never let go of that hand.
The moment MC took his hand, a wind blew in from somewhere, bringing with it many petals.
(That sounds like a blessing, doesn't it?)
In the midst of the beautiful scene of falling flower petals, Leon thought of a bright future and smiled at MC.

-DECEMBER-
The last month of the year arrived just like that after a grueling November filled with get this- More villain attacks, but Leon got to spend some more time with you (and Allister-) doing small things like playing with Allister or just walking around and going out to eat between his training for the Masters League event being held next month just two days after Christmas. It was nerve wracking but exciting all the same to know it would be ending soon then you could get back to your little home in Galar. But one day Leon pulled you aside and told you about something that he had been planning for a while when you ran into him and Nessa at the pokemon center.
"Winter Soiree?," you asked him one day confused and he nodded.
"Yeah! Everyone from Galar's going to be there and it's gonna be just like a big Christmas party mini festival sorta thing. I'm gonna be passing out all the presents to the little kids and I'd love for you and Allister to come! Hoppy and everyone else would be there a-and I know we haven't been able to see each other because of everything happening." You blinked as he shyly grabbed your hands. "A-And if I'm being honest-...I-I would like to be able to spend some time with you again."
You face lit up a red but you nodded. "Y-Yeah. It sounds like a good experience for Allister too."
he beamed. "I hope you're excited! This year we'll make sure everyone's presents get delivered properly."
"I'm known to lose myself in my work, but that aside," nessa butted in raising a brow, "Leon, haven't you been overworking yourself lately? You do know that you could enjoy yourself at these events too right?"
"She has a point, Lee. You're working so hard and you could use a break especially with Christmas right around the corner."
"Nonsense!," he waved you both off as you and Nessa exchanged a look, "As long as there's people expecting me it's my job to be there for them!"
"I suppose so but we haven't had the chance to hang out with Sonia either. Of course part of it's because of her research, but I'm worried about it."
"That's what the party's all about! Trust me! As soon as Christmas hits we can all get together and hang out just like the good old days, and as soon as the Masters League is over we can hang out even more!"
Well he certainly wasn't lying about that at all either. Because November ended and December began. The snow fell and the cold settled in and you made sure to have Allister bundled more than a hibernating bear whenever you all went out. Then Christmas came and it was time for the party. It would held the same place the Midnight Spookfest was just a few months ago on Halloween so you knew where to go. Along the way you ran into Sonia and Hop and later the twins who joined you all. The six of you formed a little group and walked together towards the Prince's giant manor passing by glowing Christmas lights and sparkly decorations until arriving in the front of the manor along with so many other trainers and Pasio locals. There you saw Raihan and Piers and said Hello to Marnie before they moved onto chat with other people. The smells of food ready to be served to the guests wafted through the air making everyone hungry, and a GIGANTIC Christmas tree shimmering with so many small ornaments it was beautiful. For a while you mingled with Sonia and the guys catching up on everything that had been happening with them and Sonia's research until Prince Lear made his announcements.
"Let the Winter Soiree begin!! Rejoice in the festivities and Pokemon battles! As for the presents, these lovely volunteers will be delivering our gifts this year!"
Well you were shocked when two of those volunteers who were decked out in christmas themed wear was your boyfriend and Nessa. He was all decked out in a festive green winter coat and cap and was happy to take one of the giant bags Prince Lear was directing the volunteers too. Wasn't he supposed to be taking time out of his tasks to spend time with you all..Well with a frown you walked up to him to confront him about it. When he noticed you walking up to him he beamed, but stopped noticing the frown you had.
"Leon." You threw a hand to the heavy two bags in his hands. "What's this?"
"These? Oh. W-Well I did tell you I'd be passing out gifts for everyone."
"I know that. I was expecting you to be passing them out here, you didn't say anything about taking off to deliver them around Pasio!"
"Well I didn't think you'd mind-''
"Mind!?" You frowned more. "Leon, you promised me you'd be able to spend time with me tonight. And nevermind me! What about Hop? Or Victor or Gloria? They've been excited to see you! And Sonia! I thought you two were friends!"
"We are!," he assured you with his own frown, "And I WILL spend time with you. ALL of you as soon as I'm finished! I promise you as soon as I'm finished I'll spend the rest of the night with you all." You opened your mouth to argue but he was already kissing your forehead and making off. "Trust me! I always keep my promises!"
And he left you standing there, alone as he walked off. After a second you gave a yell of frustration making a few people look at your frowning form as you stomped back towards the guys. The rest of the day you just ended up going inside the manor and chugging eggnog and just-...sitting my yourself for the next couple hours. Allister and the guys were outside playing outside and you lost sight of Sonia so it was just you for so long, you doubted Lee would be back until late into the night anyways with how big Pasio was so it looks like you were once again left alone on Christmas. Not gonna lie it did sting, but you would figure it out later. For now that food was enough to drown your sorrows in. Until it neared sundown. Allister came by with Gloria to grab some food and check on you before going back to play and you were just standing at the food table drinking something and scowling off at nothing. You didn't see the small crowd of your friends, Sonia included cheering and gathering around someone as he walked in and spoke to them for around ten minutes until Hop pointed towards your form with your back turned towards them and then the man walked on over towards you. You didn't even notice Leon walk up to you until a gloved hand reached over and you jumped when someone just grabbed a cup of some of the available eggnog before you looked over and blinked as a familiar pair of golden eyes beamed down at you.
"Hey. I don't suppose the eggnog is any good?"
You stared surprised at him for a moment before frowning and looking away. "I'm still mad at you. What are you even doing back here so early?"
"I had someone help knock some sense into me," he spoke softly, "And thanks to the help of some pokemon I'm already done. Y/n." He reached up a hand to you. "I-I'm sorry. It was a dumb idea to volunteer and not take into account how it'd impact my time with everyone. The entire reason I even wanted you to come to Pasio with me is because I wanted to spend time with you and I REALLY do want to! Honest."
"Well it seems like your Champion duties are important too."
He winced and shook his head finally grabbing your shoulder and gaining your attention. "I acted dumbly and was selfish, but I'm here now because I miss you. ...And I love you." Your eyes widened at him at that moment and he smiled. "Here." Reaching his other hand around to his side pocket he grabbed something and pulled out a very, VERY small square box that wasn't wrapped. "I even got you a present. Something that m-means a lot to me but..I-I'm hoping would mean a lot to you too."
Your eyes looked between the box and him for a moment before raising a brow. "What is It?"
"I was hoping you'd ask me that." Taking his other hand he reached over and opened the top of the box making your eyes budge out. The inside was a velvet material and nestled on the inside was two small rings that could probably fit you. A shiny gold band sat there with a small but decently sized purple stone inside it reflecting the Christmas lights and your face. Your f/c eyes widened and you again looked between his smiling face and the ring. W-Was he- "I-It's a promise ring." ....Oh. He rubbed the back of his neck. "I know it can be confusing and I know you probably wouldn't want to get married this early, but I wanted to get you something special. S-Something we could share together. A promise to one another and my promise to you to be better. That is ..i-if you want it. It's fine if you don't. I understand if this is too much too soon. I-I just thought it'd be a cute idea is all-"
He blinked when you plucked the other ring from the box and held it up to him first with a smile. "Well then...You're going to let me put yours on your ring first." Before Leon could say anything you gently grabbed his other hand and he looked wide eyed as you gently slid it onto his finger before grabbing the other ring from the box and slipping it onto yourself smiling widely. Humming a moment. "...It's beautiful. I think I can forgive you this time..." You shot a smirk his way. "But I think you deserve a present too.~"
"I-I- You-..." He gulped red faced the ring box dropping to the floor. "G-G-Gift? Me?"
You smiled, before just grabbing his cheeks and kissing him at that moment.
This was it. The last month he'd spend here. All the battling was scheduled for later this month after Christmas and everyone was getting ready and pumped for the official event that would take place at the Star Pasio Arena. He however couldn't feel more relieved. He was about to go home soon. And you would no doubt watch everyone's performances in the stands. Which made him both nervous and excited as well. But for now he was between practicing and hanging with his mates at the Winter Soiree, which happened to be Piers and Raihan for the moment.
"Wow. It's the end of the year already?," Leon asked at one point, "I can't believe that much time has passed since we first came to Pasio."
"You're only realizing that now?!," Raihan asked him in a teasing way.
"Hahaha! It's just starting to sink in now. We've been battling all sorts of other sync pairs and even Hop and Sonia came. So we haven't had much time to sit back and relax now that I think about it."
"Uh." Both men looked at him. "I hate ta break up the warm sentiment you've got goin' here, but we've still got to show everyone what we're made of. Right, Leo?"
Leon's face lit up and he nodded. "Right! Let's keep up the great work, Lads!"
"Oh uh...By the way-.." Raihan and Piers shared an amused look between them which confused Leon because he raised a brow. It was strange especially for Piers who didn't show much emotion all the time. Raihan chuckled before looking at Lee. "How was that kiss with Y/n?"
Leon paused...before his face lit up a pink and narrowed his eyes. "We didn't kiss! An-And even if we did i-it's none of your business! Besides you don't even know if we did-"
"Dude. Everyone knows. Haven't you noticed everyone's been looking at you?"
He did notice but he just assumed it was because he was a champion. "Yeah? And?"
"You have lipstick kiss marks all over your face, Mate!"
Leon froze, a record scratch going off in his mind. ".....WHAT!?"
The end of the month came and went after Christmas. After getting embarrassed at the Christmas party Leon did keep his promise and began to visit more between training for the Master's League until the day of the event arrived. You were woken early by Allister to escort him to the Pasio Star Arena where Bea took him off your hands and you joined Sonia and Hop to Spectate the rest of the event in the stadiums with hundreds of other people. Prince Lear made an announcement, did a few lines and announced the first pairs which was between someone called Ingo and a man called Grimsley. And you watched and followed all your friends and Galar trainers. You saw Bede. He made it all the way to the sixth round before being defeated by the Sinnoh Champion Cynthia. You will admit she was pretty powerful like Leon but Bede did put up a good fight. Marnie made it one round ahead of him before also being defeated in Round Seven by someone called Emmet. Around you people were cheering for both of them and awed when both were defeated. That's ok though. They gave it their best shot and that's all that matters. Gloria however made it to the third to last round before also meeting defeat by Cynthia's hands. Victor was defeated one round behind her to Raihan and Allister made it three rounds above Gloria before being bested by a gym leader named Misty. Defeated and defeating one another until people were dropping left and right until only the champions themselves were left. Champions Red from Kanto was defeated by Champion Lance fom Johto. Steven Stone from Hoenn was bested by Cynthia from Sinnoh. Iris lost to Diantha from Kalos. And Selene of Alola/Orange Islands lost to Leon, and then at the very end there was only two left. Champion Cynthia from Sinnoh and Champion Leon from Galar. Leon was rocking that Sygna Suit Nessa decided for him which you wouldn't lie, made him look absolutely handsome, and then the battle began. Which ended in a...Tie? Ok. No biggy. A twenty minute break was had before they battled again. And it was..another tie?...Ok. Let's try again. Fast forward to the end of the day and after three more tries the Prince declared that the two would share in the victory of the Master League Champion title. Ah. So the unbeatable Champion still retains his title. It was a bit of a blur after that. You remembered the after party where he wouldn't let go of you proudly wearing his own ring and receiving congrats from anyone and hugging you to his side, and then the next moment you were all on a cruise ship back home after saying goodbye to anyone. Arriving at Hulbury docks, getting on the train, going home. And then arriving at Wedgehurst to a whole group of people including everyone's families.
Leon was home. His home. Your Champion. His Y/n. Your Home. Everything. Both. Yours and his. The whole day was a magical blur. You remembered feeling Leon's happy tears fall onto your forehead and you cried as well still hanging onto each other like a pair of koalas in front of a your family and friendsbut you didn't care. By the time you two finally pulled apart the everyone began taking their own turns hugging each other and pushing you all towards the inevitable welcome back party Leon's Mother insisted on throwing for everyone, which was just a dinner with everyone celebrating but you didn't care. The entire time Leon holding onto you in one way or another or vise versa. It was all such a blur of a night. You remembered eating a little bit, panicking for a moment your boss would get angry you just left work to eat with Leon, giving the guys a hug, and just...talking. Just talking and being held by Leon who seemed to do nothing but smile and hold you the entire time...until it got dark. Like REALLY dark and really REALLY late into the night. By the time you realized it, you were already so tired but so happy. You couldn't remember any other time you cried so much or felt so happy it felt like the whole world was becoming whole again. All your focus on Leon and his focus on you so it was quick a shock when you were finding yourself standing in front of your house having been escorted none other than the man himself and having him convince you to go to sleep. Mrs. L and Mrs. G had insisted you should stay the night at theirs but you felt like sleeping in your own bed despite being so happy to see everyone again.
"Get some sleep," he spoke softly, forehead pressed against yours, a few happy tears falling down his face, and two soft hands holding your cheeks. Perfect smile on his features. "I wanna spend more time with ya too but it's late..and you're tired. Tomorrow I'll be back and I'll take you out to see some pretty flowering fields nearby. I promise you." Followed by another kiss to your forehead.
You did whine at the loss but your urge to sleep overtook any other emotion. So you stumbled your way inside after a few more moments. Silver and the Zen were both happy and anxious to see you after so long but sleep still won out over everything. You were already so exhausted you hardly even noticed you going through the routine of taking a shower, brushing your teeth, and getting into your favorite pair of fuzzy pjs before just collapsing into your bed. Eyelids heavy and darkness consuming you as you fell into a fast deep sleep. The darkness of your dream was interrupted however in the most strangest ways. Because you woke up. Or at least...you thought you did-
"At last...Thou haveth been found. Divine childe from thine differ plain of being.''
Cold..It was so cold. Like winter had come early and seeped into your blankets, except you weren't covered by anything except for the clothes on your back. And you weren't laying on any soft cozy mattress like when you first went to best. It felt..cold and glasslike the ground under you. Like you just decided to fall asleep on a giant pane of glass in the middle of winter. It was the cold that beckoned f/c eyes to open above you, shivering and teeth clattering together from the cold feeling. And what was above the young woman made her gasp at the holy sight above. It-...It was almost as if the universe itself was in front of you, swirling shades of purple and black swam before you in the shape of the galaxy with some invisible force holding it above you. Silence fading in and out as twinkling stars shown around you with the beautiful sight of the fully moon lighting it all. The moon looked so close and so far at the same time. What the-...Where were you? Were you dreaming? This felt too real to be just a dream. Were you seeing some kind of old game footage like the first time you arrived in this world??..Had you died? Is this the afterlife? No..No that wasn't it. Before you could get too far into your questioning, you slowly, body shaking and teeth now clattering together from how cold it was, stood on legs more wobbly than a newborn deer. Your hands came up to rub your arms in a failed attempt to warm you up looking around. Black...EVERYWHERE WAS BLACK!! Like eternal night other than the endless night stars and full moon above you. Nothing anywhere. Spinning in a complete circle, you still found yourself completely alone. Right. Alone. This MUST have been some crazy dream right?
"H-Hello?!," You called out tentatively finding your voice trembling and throat dry from the cold croaking. Like a creepy tunnel your voice echoed into the dark abyss. ...No answer came back to you. "I-I-Is an-nyone there!?"
Dead silence.
Ok. Obviously this wasn't a dream. This was a freaking NIGHTMARE!! You felt dread creeping in on you and you would've started panicking if it wasn't for a voice. One you thought you heard before, One so feeble and far you almost thought you had imagined it. Then you heard it again.
"This way.''
The words- That voice came from behind you and you snapped behind you seeing no one.
"H-HELLO!? HEY! THIS ISN'T FUNNY!? C-C-C-C'mon! Ju-Just s-s-show yourselves al-al-laread-dy!"
"This way," the voice repeated only now you were facing the direction it came from.
This person-..thing...It couldn't be serious right? Your mind was playing tricks on you surely!...But..you had no other choice but to follow it huh? Sigh. You sighed, looked around you one more time, again saw nothing, and then turned forward to behind walking. To be honest it felt like walking on a treadmill. Never leaving the place you stood except you didn't feel the ground move under your feet or the stars go past you, maybe your feet were just too cold. Then, after a short while of walking you saw it. A small dull light coming from in front of you. You grew more excited and your pace quickened. That was it! The exit! At this point you were all but running, excited to leave this place wherever it is was you were. You'd probably wake up once you reach the end. Boy Lee would think this one would be a doozy to hear. Probably get a laugh outta it too. The closer you got the more blinding the light became. Up until you had to close your eyes against the harsh glare. Still you continued on and while the light gave you hope it also took away your sight until with many blinks and your hands rubbing your eyelids, they slower adjusted to the light and it wasn't as bright as you initially thought it was. And your eyes blinked down once your leg bumped into something almost making you trip over and blink at it. Until your eyes fully adjusted. And widened as you realized you were staring at....Uh..Well you were staring at..The light was coming from...
A floating rectangle???
Yes. Before you floating just a foot above the ground was a stop sign sized rectangle that was glowing a white with a slight blue-green tint to it. Your f/c eyes followed it up to another one just like it. And then another. And another. And another. All one foot apart and starting to head upwards like some kind of stairs...Wait..WERE these stairs?? You kept staring at it totally bewildered-
"Up, Young One. Ascend."
You flinched. There it was. That voice again. It sounded male in gender and echoed both inside and outside your skull like a drumroll. Wait. Did that thing say up? You blinked at the apparent stairs again. It wanted you to go up? Seriously!? A long flight of stairs?! Your mind couldn't have dreamt up an elevator at least?...You sighed but followed the strange voice's instructions and began to climb the glowing staircase upwards. Step after step you took moving upwards in a seemingly never ending stairway of glowing floating rectangles. After a while you got to a point where you couldn't tell where you began or where it ended, as if you weren't even going anywhere again like when you were walking, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Er. Stairs I mean. Because when you looked up, you saw something at last that made you give pause once again. Upwards above you was a GIANT circular platform surrounded by faint purple lights resembling the aurora borealis. Was that where you were supposed to go? Looking around there was nothing and no where else to go. You couldn't even see the bottom of the stairs anymore as they faded into the darkness below. Guess there was only one way out of this mess. Looking back upwards you continued your climb all the way up until finally at last you were standing on the strange floating platform. The platform was about as big as half your standard large parking lot and strange circle patterns were glowing in it's floor. You stopped when you were about half way in the middle of it and looked around. And still nothing although you didn't feel so cold anymore now.
"HELLO!?," you hollered out again your voice echoing around as you looked around for any sign of life. "Hey! I'm here already! Where are you!? Show yourself!"
"Be Not Afraid!"
That voice again. Echoing. It sounded like it came from everywhere and no where at once leaving you looking any which way to find it. Up at the stairs. Down at your feet. Around and around at all sides seeing absolutely no one. Then it happened. Something blocked the light from you making you freeze as a long shadow fell over you. ...You felt yourself gulp feeling a VERY massive presence behind you eyes boring into the back of your skull. And then you slowly turned around. And you saw it. Irises shrinking and jaw dropping. White blinded your vision as red and green eyes bore down at you from four stories high and feet across. The thing a monster above you-
"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" Your body moved on it's own. Peddling backwards and making you crash onto your backside flashbacks of the giant corviknight when you first showed up flashing before your eyes. Making the giant pokemon blink and wince.
"I sayeth be not afraid."
"HOLY ARCEUS!!," You cried out staring at this...this..thing wide eyed scooting backwards and pointing at the thing towering over you. "What the heck are you!?"
"Oh..Thou hast already answered thine question," it answered you tilting it's head at you. "It hast taken me many a moon to find thee."
You paused. Staring at the giant thing in front of you like a goldfish before lowering it's head. "....What?"
It looked eye level at you now as if trying not to frighten you again. "Thoust tis gazing upon thy god of this realm."
God?...Wait. This thing was a god?? Not any god you could think of like Thor or Hercules. Wait. Did the pokemon franchise even have a god? Well there were legendary pokemon which were like demigods and the strongest among them was-....Was-...Your eyes widened more as a glass breaking sound went off in your head again and the thing chuckled at your expression.
"HOLY ARCEUS!!!"
"Thee one and only."
"I-...W-What the-" ARCEUS!? YOU WERE BLOODY TALKING TO THE ARCEUS!? "W-Wha-...How-...WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE!?"
"I haveth summoned thee to correct the mistake of mine children."
"Wa-..Y-Y-Your children!?"
It nodded before lifting it's head back up and you stumble/wobbled back onto your foot. "I'm afraid the fault of thou's arrival to this plain of existence would be none other than my own children. Perhaps thou knowest thy children of time and space?"
You continued to stare at him before raising a brow. "Are-...A-Are you talking about Dialgia and Palkia?"
Arceus nodded. "Indeed."
"Wha-...H-How the heck?! What did they do to me!?"
"It seems that not too long ago now mine two children had gotten into a rather terrible spat. The worst one in nearly a millennia. Twas the fighting so passionate that they had opened up portals to your world. Resulting in many a person crossing over."
You still stared at him....before you scowled. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. WAIT A MINUTE!!" You pointed at him. "Are you telling me that the only reason I'm here is because I fell through a portal two legendary pokemon made!?"
Arceus looked a bit more embarrassed now. "When down to it..yes. Tis what happened. And thoust was not thee only one. I had toldest thine children to fix their mistake."
"....And did they?"
"Yes...Well. Mostly. I hast seen them mend the rifts and heal thine wounds towards one another but send back the humans they did not. Instead they deemed it worthy to bend space and time to thine will and make thee a part of thine new world."
Make you a part of this world-...THE ID CARD!! Your eyes widened as you realized. THE OLD BAG SONIA DISCOVERED AT THE CRASH SIGHT!! That was them!? It must've been them! That was the only way to explain it! Things were starting to make so much sense now.
"So Dialgia and Palkia fought and during that fight managed to open portals between this plain of existence that they exist and somewhere where they only exist in video games and anime?....That....actually makes sense in a really, really weird way. But that still doesn't explain why you're here."
"With mine children not doing so I hast taken it up in mineself to right thine wrongs and return thine human children to their rightful home."
Your eyes widened. "You can do that?"
He nodded. "I apologize on behalf on my children for thou's troubles and thee's wait for mine arrival. For there was a many humans which fell and I hadst to prioritized the ones who would cause more trouble than thou."
"You can...really send me back? Just how many were there!?"
"A plenty but do not be alarmed. Every human was sent back happily, some more forced than others. However thy childe is thy last to return home and thus thou shalt get to chose thy fate."
"You mean...I can chose whether I can leave or stay?"
"Correct. Thou hast shown bravery and compassion where others shant. I commend thee and thy good deeds. Therefore shalt get my reward here. Chose. Stay in this new world or return home from wince ye came."
You...could go back? You could go back home!? Back to your mother and old home and life. You could ...you could go and make a new life for yourself. You could leave and get your own life and job and chose your own college since you had the guts to never listen to her! And she still must be worried about you. And...that was your goal in the beginning r-right? To get back home. But...you did and have so much here. You had friends. A job. A home. Pets- Er. Pokemon. And you and Lee-...You'd have to start all over again if you went back, and Dialgia and Palkia made you an identity here. You now existed in both worlds. But you could only chose one.
"What...happens if I go back? T-T-To my old world."
"Nothing. It would be like if thou never left at all."
"Really?"
"Thou would be sent back to the exact time they disappeared. You'dst be wearing the clothes thou wore when you disappeared. Thou's age would be the same before you left. It would be if thou never ever even left for a second...But. Be warned. If thou shalt pick this path, you shall never be able to return here again. And everyone here shall forget you." Your brows shot up! "Every evidence of you even being here would fade away. Photos. Memories...Everything. Your friends would forget about you."
They ...Would forget you? All of them. The journey you made with your friends? The way you raised Silver? Leon and your feelings?
"W-What about my Mom?! In my own world I mean? W-What would happen to her?"
"Thine same scenario. In fact thoust hast been here for so long thy mother hast most likely forgotten as your existence hast most likely already faded from there as well. But fear not Human Child. It shalt all be fixed once I send ye back."
You stared at him. She....had already forgotten about you? But all of it would be fixed once he sent you back..If you decided to take him up on his offer to send you back. But would that be the best thing? Yes you missed her but...There was so much more here. And your world didn't have two families who loved you like their own or Smart Hop or always hungry Silver or ambitious Postwick twins....Or..Lee. ..It was decided. You inhaled a shaky breath stealing your nerves before looking back up at Arceus who still stayed ever patiently.
"Hast thou decided?"
You nodded. "I have. I-...I-I'd like to stay if that's possible."
"Art thou sure? I will only make this offer once and if thee choses to stay.." He shook his head. "Thine choice is final. I shalt not make this offer again nor will I send thee back to your old home. Think carefully before thou gives me their final answer."
"I'm already sure. And I'd like to stay."
"Tis that thine final answer?" You nodded and he hummed. "....So be it. As thou walkest onward upon thine own path, upon thee and upon this creation where thou now dwellest, I bestow my blessing. Take heed upon thine new life and tell not a soul of our meeting. Fair thee well, Human Childe Y/n of thy different world."
With that your vision began to fuzz and blur. The darkness shifted and spun around you like you were drunk and dizzy. Faster and faded everything spend up as the double vision of Arceus faded...And you woke up. Shot straight up from your cozy bed in your own little house in the dark. It....It must've still been night time! Leon walked you home only a few hours ago. After a moment you slowly laid yourself back down and stared at the ceiling for what must've been ten minutes or so processing what had just happened....Before you again smiled.
"...I'm home."

LAST CHRISTMAS !!
a/n: this was sitting in my brain and I dont know if i like it but HERE ANYWAYS its also so short SRRY-
pairing: Leon kennedy x Gn!reader
cw: just sad reader ?? with angst
Tumblr media
-
It had been a year since you last saw Leon.
A tragic ending when he decided that he didn’t want to spend Christmas with you, but instead wanted to chase after Ada.
You spent months picking out the perfect present for him, carefully listening to everything he said to ensure you picked the best possible present.
He always whined about not liking Christmas, that he hated decorations, parties, and overall just everything about it.
(He changed his mind after he saw how happy it made you)
You had your own traditions, baking special desserts, adding your family’s topper for your tree, and decorating the inside and outside of your house.
It may have been small things, but it was nice to do regardless.
You wanted Christmas to be special for Leon.
It didn’t matter this year though.
He didn’t even have the decency to explain why he left, just a stupid excuse about another important mission.
He slipped up and mentioned her, saying they had the location and were close to catching her.
That’s all it took for him to immediately leave, rushing out the door and not looking back, not even uttering a pathetic goodbye.
You didn’t cry for him to come back, no loud tantrum about him leaving, nothing.
You figured this would happen.
He was antsy recently, couldn’t sit down properly without bouncing his knee up and down, not able to look you in the eye.
Classic Leon behavior.
You rolled your eyes at that, you hadn’t even given him a second thought and here he was popping back up in your brain again.
It was the anniversary of him leaving.
-
Christmas Eve.
-
You had the bright idea to go out today, go to the mall and get yourself a gift, walk around town for a little bit, and just try to enjoy this time of year on your own.
It was annoying seeing those couples together.
Holding onto each other and laughing, playing in the snow with their kids, watching the same lights as you.
You couldn’t blame them for being happy. It wasn’t exactly your fault that you were slightly bitter.
Well, maybe it was.
But your bitterness was internal, hurting no one but yourself.
You audibly sigh at that.
“..when did Christmas get so boring…” you thought to yourself, turning the corner and bumping into someone who felt like they were in quite a hurry.
“Watch it-“
You say, having to look up at the stranger that almost knocked you over.
“Oh, sorry!” They say, giving you a nervous look.
“I didn’t mean to bump into you, are you alright?”
You pause for a moment, you didn’t know if it was your brain just linking things together or you were secretly hoping it would happen?
But a small part of you hoped that stranger would be Leon.
You say you’re alright and keep on your way, nodding to the person before stepping out of their way.
You didn’t miss him.
Not one bit.
But you missed the memories you had together.
You wonder if he feels the same way, walking around whatever place he’s in, thinking of you?
Not being able to celebrate Christmas without you.
You find some comfort in those thoughts, only temporarily.
-
You could do things without him, always have. It wasn’t any different with him being gone, you still live your life like normal.
You did stay in the same place, opening the door to your two bedroom apartment.
One is your bedroom, the other now a storage place.
You decorated it like normal, your tree in the corner with all your favorite ornaments and lights, a stocking hung above the fireplace, a mistletoe hanging on the doorway to your kitchen.
You weren’t gonna let sadness win this Christmas.

Not this time.
You prayed he wouldn’t come back, because you knew you would let him back in.
Those sad puppy dog eyes he does, begging to come back.
You hated that you couldn’t tell him no.
Maybe wouldn’t fits better.
You could say no.
But you wouldn’t.
You’d invite him in with open arms, completely ignoring everything he did to you last year.
Who’s Ada? He’s in my house now! :)
But that didn’t happen.
You stare at the Christmas tree for maybe hours, burning those beautiful bright lights into your eyes.
Nothing in your brain but thoughts.
You blink, finally coming to your senses.
Your eyes drift to the bottom of the tree, a perfectly wrapped present.
The gift tag reading Leon.
You could never bring yourself to throw it away.
You just placed it in the spare room, cleaning it off before placing it back under the tree.
It was almost sad to see.
-
But you didn’t care.
-
Merry Christmas, Leon.
.
..
I miss you.

He glanced once more at the cell phone screen and sighed in the seat looking out the airplane window.
"Is there something wrong, sir?" - a female voice made him turn his blue-gray eyes towards her.
"No no," he paused to see that his companion didn't believe him and let out a chuckle. " I was just checking to see if Ashley had sent me any messages."
"You know she's fine, Agent Kennedy's with her."
William Graham sighed.
"I know that, and I know she can take care of herself. I think I'm the one who still doesn't know how to give her space." He saw the woman in front of him smile. " Well, what's so funny, Miss Hunnigan?"
Ingrid looked up over her glasses.
" I was just thinking how much you two look alike, you worry too much sometimes."
The president arched his eyebrows.
" Says the one who needs to have every detail under control?"
Hunnigan sighed.
"I've had to learn not to do it the hard way."
" I guess Leon is an improvisational agent from what I can gather."
Ingrid laughed, massaging the bridge of her nose.
" I've given up asking what his impromptu plans consist of. They scare me."
William laughed feeling more relaxed. He had asked Hunnigan to accompany him to Boston. They were to meet with the directors of the secret department in Boston to discuss some matters in process. He put a hand to his chin thoughtfully.
"Hey, Ingrid." he called out to the agent, making her look at him. " Do you have the contacts of the agents we were going to meet tomorrow?"
" Yes, why do you ask?"
Graham smiled at her.
" Did you bring any party clothes? "
**
Successive knocks echoed in the back room. Gasps filled the room and an alarm sounded. Leon stopped jumping and walked in circles catching his breath. He hung up the rope and grabbed hold of the horizontal bar. He had managed to set up a small room for his workouts. The alarm sounded again and he started with the pull-ups. Attentive to his breathing his muscles stretched and contracted like a perfect machine. Sweat trickled down his naked torso, decorated by scars in different places.
It turns out Ashley was right. She hadn't woken up since Friday when they'd returned from dinner, and it was already Sunday. He had brought the dogs to his apartment so he could tend to them and she could sleep peacefully. The only time he heard her was Saturday morning to go to the bathroom and since then she had been in bed. Occasionally he would stop by to see if she was okay. He had left the bedroom door ajar for him, so he just had to take a peek and leave.
He heard Mint and Pepper playing in the living room and when the alarm went off again he came out of the mini gym. He had already taken them out for a walk in the morning and now they were entertaining themselves with a ball he had found in Ashley's apartment. He smiled when Pepper wagged his tail at the sight of him and went over to ask for a few brief cuddles before continuing with his brother.
He went to the kitchen, but the laptop on his desk started beeping. He looked at the time and arched an eyebrow. It was early for Hunnigan to call him and she usually did it on his cell phone. He didn't think much of it either so he picked it up and turned toward the kitchen.
" I knew you couldn't live without me." he scoffed with his back to the screen sipping a glass of water.
" I have to admit, it's more fun to play pranks on you and Patrick."
Leon spat violently and turned back to the voice, which was not Ingrid's at all.
The president's smiling expression looked at him along with Hunnigan's and Kennedy disappeared from his sight for a second. He pulled out the chair and sat down as he finished putting on a T-shirt.
" Mr. Graham? " he looked at him puzzled.
The president laughed and settled back in his seat.
" Good morning, Agent Kennedy. " he smiled slyly. " Is this a bad time?"
Leon wiped the sweat from his forehead with his hand and shook his hair.
" I'm not looking very presentable, sir."
" Says the one who does the reports with me half naked." Hunnigan snarled mockingly.
Leon glared at her, but William burst out laughing.
" Don't worry Leon, I've asked Hunnigan to contact you. We're arriving in Boston, but I wanted to ask you about Ashley since she hasn't called me nor on Friday nor yesterday."
" Oh she is" Mint's big head appeared on the screen popping out from between Leon's legs "Mint go away!"  the dog sniffed at the screen.
Graham and Hunnigan watched as Leon called Pepper to bring him the ball to distract the other.
" Go fetch it."  He tossed the toy down the hall and turned back to the screen with a sigh "sorry for the interruption."
" I see you've taken to Ashley's dogs."
Leon scratched the back of his neck.
" Yes I I didn't have another one. Regarding Ashley, she's home, I brought the dogs with me to let her rest. On Friday she told me she didn't know when she was going to wake up again, she's still in bed. - "He paused, looking at William. - Has this happened before, should I be worried?
Graham noticed the tinge of alertness in the agent's voice and was glad to know that Ashley was in good hands.
" Yes, relax. After exam weeks it was something she used to do, especially these last two years. " he paused. " I'm still sad to ask you to go and wake her up, there's something I want to tell you."
Leon looked confused for a moment, but then nodded and picked up the laptop.
He called the dogs who followed him obediently and went out into the hallway to open Ashley's apartment with his copies.
To him came a barely preceptive sigh. Graham watched the agent carefully, watching as he put the keys aside and set the laptop on the sofa table.
" I'll go get her. " He said in a soft tone to disappear from the camera.
Hunnigan glanced at the president watching his partner and for a second, just a moment, he caught a subtle, lopsided smile.
Leon gently opened Ashley's door and slipped quietly in.
He walked over to sit on the edge of the bed and touched her shoulder.
" Ashley, wake up princess. " He gently jiggled her arm. She grunted sinking her face into the pillow and inhaled deeply, taking in Leon's natural scent along with a salty tinge of sweat.
Her eyelashes parted and looked lazily at the agent.
"...  Leon...? " she mumbled hoarsely.
He smiled.
" Yes, it's me. Your father called me to tell us something."
She looked at him puzzled for a few seconds, as if still processing the meaning of each word. Finally she sighed and turned lazily in bed rubbing her eyes and yawning.
" Give me... a moment, I'll be right there. " she whispered. Leon nodded and left the room.
He walked back to the living room and sat down on the couch.
" She'll be right back. " He paused thoughtfully, remembering some events of Friday, and was curious to ask a question. " Sir, you haven't received any news about Hoffman, have you?"
The president arched an eyebrow
" No, should I? Has something happened?"
"Only that I almost witnessed a public execution without a guillotine" thought the agent but just smiled.
" Ashley had one last talk with Carla Hoffmann and wanted to know if she had gone to tell her father."
" Define "talk" Leon. " the man asked.
The agent wanted to defend Ashley and opened his mouth to retort, but a female voice was quicker.
 "It means civilized conversation, Dad."
Ashley appeared at the bottom of the screen pulling a cup from the shelves.
Leon turned on the couch to look at her and then at her father who responded.
" I think your civilized conversations and my civilized conversations differ a little."
" I just scared her a little. " She turned to Leon with a cup. "coffee?"
Leon nodded.
" Yes please."
" Leon, for God's sake, tell me she hasn't done something crazy."
The agent took the mug the blonde handed him and looked at the president with a smile as he blew on his drink.
" Not crazy, but it was definitely worth watching. " He took a calm sip and stepped aside as Ashley came over to sit down.
William watched them for a few seconds, the two of them sitting across from him having coffee on a Sunday morning. He looked at his daughter, calm and collected drinking from the mug he gave her. He saw the bracelet on her bicep and then noticed the silver bracelet on the wrist of the man next to her.
She smiled inwardly and subtly leaned forward.
" Whatever it was,  she deserved it. Both she and her father are piranhas, I just hope they don't bother you in the future."
The two young adults smiled into their cups and inadvertently responded in unison.
" She won't. " They both looked at each other in surprise and laughed hopelessly. Ashley smiled taking another sip and crossing her legs.
" I'm still getting to the idea that I'm never going to see her again. " She paused, staring at a distant point. -" I still can't believe I made it, Dad."
William looked at his daughter tenderly.
" You've worked so hard for these, sweetheart, I'm glad you got what you set out to do, even though you almost gave me a heart attack. " They both laughed and Graham cleared his throat, drawing the attention of both of them. " Well, since I have both of you, I want to tell you that you are invited."
Ashley blinked for a few seconds.
" Invited to what exactly?"
" To your graduation party tonight of course."
Leon and Ashley stood with the cup halfway down and it was Kennedy who was the first to come ashore.
" Excuse me sir, I thought you told me you were in Boston."
" Oh yes, we are in Boston, but I have an event room booked at a hotel in Springfield. We have a pilot to take us to the airport there."
Leon turned to Hunnigan.
" Did you know about this? " he asked. She sighed, holding her hand to her face.
" I've complained about your impromptu plans for as long as I've known you, but what Mr. Graham has done to me has no name."
William turned to the crowd, and scoffed.
" Oh come on, it was no big deal."
" Sir, with all due respect and forgive me Ashley, you are the one who almost gave me a heart attack, please don't make me call the Directives about some last minute changes of plans."
" It's a little fib."
" Dad, you're the president."
"And because I'm the president, I don't get to celebrate my daughter's graduation? Pardon me for saying so, but I think they can go to hell for a day. "
They looked at him puzzled for a few moments before bursting out laughing. Sometimes it really didn't seem like they were talking to the president of the United States. Maybe that's why it was so easy for Hunnigan, Patrick and Leon to talk to him.
" Besides, I want to see you in that dress you showed me. " he smiled at his daughter.
Ashley let out a surrendered chuckle.
“ I thought you didn't like my wardrobe decision. “ laughed the blonde mockingly.
“ The dress is beautiful, what I wasn't sure about was whether you'd be comfortable in it.”
She smiled taking another sip and throwing her head back for a few seconds.
“ I still have a lot of plans dad, tonight is just one of them.”
William looked at his daughter for a few long seconds and his heart was overcome with joy.
“ Your mother would be proud, honey. “
Ashley slowly turned around somewhat surprised, as her father didn't usually bring her mother up in conversations, let alone with other people in front of them.
Only Leon sensed it as he glanced sideways at her, the gentle tug on her neck for a second, before he saw her smile.
“ Yes, thank you dad. “ she paused to take a breath and add. “ And where's my not-so-surprise party going to be? “ she teased mockingly.”
William laughed.
“ I'll send you the address and time. “ he turned to look at the blue-eyed agent. “ I don't know if I've left you much time to pack for the occasion, Leon, with the rush of coming to Amherst.”
Leon smiled.
“ Don't worry sir, I've learned to be quite efficient at getting organized.”
“ That's just it, 'cause in the kitchen..." muttered Ashley to herself, earning a stomp that made her jump up and down on the couch. Graham looked at his daughter in surprise
“ Are you okay Ashley?”
“ Eh...yeah! Mint bit my foot. “ she laughed with a naturalness that surprised the agent. The president didn't question the words in the least and Leon couldn't help but smile inwardly.
“ Mr. Graham, I just have one question. “ asked the blue-eyed man. “ How long had you been planning this?”
This time it was the man whose eyes widened like saucers and Hunnigan's chuckle at his side gave him away.
“ Well, sir, they got to you pretty quick.”
“ What makes you think that, Agent Kennedy?”
Leon smiled.
“ Nothing, just a hunch.”
Oh, Leon's hunches.  Ashley smiled as she saw Hunnigan roll her eyes. Exact plans weren't something that suited his vocabulary much, improvisation seemed to be his strong point. Sometimes he could get unlucky, though he usually came out on the right foot, no matter how terrible and far-fetched the idea was.
She heard her father laugh.
“ Only three months, though I had to make changes three days ago because of Hoffman's move.”
Ashley arched her eyebrows in surprise.
“ Did you know about it?”
“ I found out when I called Professor Narsson to invite her, she told me.”
“ And she didn't tell me anything..." the blonde sighed in exasperation and then added. “Then I guess all my friends are aware of it.”
“ I told Katherine, I guess Emily would let the rest know.”
Ashley laughed, understanding now why they showed up so suddenly to take her out partying that Saturday.
They had planned it all.
Without warning Mint made his presence known by climbing onto the couch and jumped on top of the two of them. Ashley exclaimed and the coffee flew out drenching her and Leon.
“ MINT! “ she scolded the dog, grabbing him by the snout and jumping up.
Leon growled as he felt the coffee burning.
“ See you later!”  said the president, laughing and hanging up.
Leon hurried to take off his shirt and look to see if his skin had burned, but he had been quick. He looked at Ashley on the other side with Mint sitting with his head down.
“ Stay.” She ordered him and left him grounded as she hurried over to Leon. - Are you all right? - She touched his skin to see if he had any burns but he smiled at her.
“ I'm cool and you?”
Ashley blinked for a second and looked at her shoulder with slightly pinker skin.
“ I'm fine, I didn't get burned, but come on, let me put some ointment on it.” She grabbed his wrist and dragged him into the bathroom.
“ I'm really okay.”
Ashley pulled a jar out of the cabinet and dipped her fingers into the buttery texture. She poured some on her shoulder and chest then picked up more. She rubbed her hands together spreading the ointment and looked at Leon.
“ Let me see.”
“ Do you want me to put it on myself?” he asked.
“ I'll do it in a minute, I've got the hang of it.”
Leon's heart almost stopped. He tensed suddenly as Ashley's hands lay on his bare chest and he remembered again.
The FUCKING cologne. He had to smell like a dog after training and not having showered.
He felt a shiver as her palms ran over his serratus and lateral abdominals. His mouth spoke faster than his brain.
“ Hey Ash, I...I'll do it, I have to smell terri-”
“ No, it's okay.”
The softness of the response made him freeze.
“ I think you worry too much about my sense of smell Leon. When I said strong smells gave me a headache, I didn't mean simple sweat or body odor, but people bathed in perfume, or dirt accumulated from too much time...that sort of thing.”
She slid her fingers down to his hip and then pulled away to put what was left on his shoulder. Those blue eyes looked at her deeply.
“ I guess you've gotten used to it with Dana.” he smiled.
Ashley laughed, nodding and washing her hands of the remains.
“ As "Princess" as I am, Agent Kennedy, I don't mind getting my hands dirty.” She scoffed, looking at him in the mirror's reflection.
Leon scoffed softly.
“ Well, then you won't mind this.”
He went to grab her in his arms, intending to smear her with the cream, but she shrank back like lightning slipping between his legs. Leon blinked to look at the floor and then turned, perplexed.
“ Friday you caught me off guard for drinking, it's going to be hard for you to do it again.”
She walked over to him patting him on his broad back and putting the bottle away in the cabinet. They watched each other for a few seconds and Leon smiled playfully.
“ I'm going to have to be the one to get you drunk to catch you by surprise.”
“ Careful, maybe I'll get you drunk, Patrick told me you're very... deep when you're drunk.”
The agent rolled his eyes and shook her hair like a dog, drawing a laugh from the woman.
“ Hey, very convenient, this ointment of yours, it looks homemade.
Ashley toweled her hands dry.
“ When I started climbing I ended up with burned hands from the rock and cuts and abrasions from falling.”
Leon arched his eyebrows, following her down the hall to the kitchen.
“ And your father didn't tell you anything?”
“He didn't know until I started training with Dana.” She paused, turning on the toaster and turning back to the man. “He wasn't amused, but I told him I didn't plan to quit, not when climbing was the only thing that was making me get better.”
“ Was the adrenaline of being on the verge of falling helping you get better?” Leon's tone was skeptical, aware that seeking adrenaline rushes to fight trauma wasn't exactly the most recommended thing to do.
Ashley laughed, shaking her head.
“ No, it wasn't that. The knowledge that it's my mind, my body and a stone wall. To be aware that the only thing stopping me from being able to climb it or not is myself.” She looked at the dogs with a smile. “ When I rescued them from a cliff, when I had to use my hands to climb up that stone wall, when I dropped to the ground after I got there and even though I was crying in pain from my raw fingers, it felt good. For the first time I felt like I had accomplished something on my own, with my sweat and blood.”  Her gaze was lost in the memories, still with that sweet gesture on her lips. “For me it's a way to stay conscious, to know my body and my limitations, to improve them and maybe climb that wall I couldn't climb a week before. This is what has helped me get through the training with Dana.”
Leon was speechless listening to her. His blue eyes could only look at her as she spoke, as she showed him how vulnerable she felt, what forced her to get better...to get stronger. He did it for her and...for others. Her dogs were the first reason that made her understand that if she was lost, the people who depended on her were lost too.
Just like him.
The same as he felt when...he endured all that training...that hell in Spain...to get her out of there, because only he could do it.
The little chick that had become an eagle.
And he could only feel immense pride and joy for her.
He smiled hopelessly and picked up the coffee-stained shirt he had thrown on the floor. Ashley turned to Mint, who was still sitting, and sighed.
She gave him a reward for staying in place all that time.
“ All right, get up.” She nodded to him. Mint barked and wagged his tail.
Leon leaned against the counter and looked at the toast.
“ Are you going to make me breakfast, princess?”
Ashley smiled and pulled out the peanut butter.
“ I'll make it up to you for the coffee.”
He smiled and sat down in the dining room.
“ How long do I have to have this?” He pointed to the ointment on it.
Ashley smirked.
“ Are you uncomfortable being shirtless with me?”
He leaned back in the seat with a lopsided grin, clearly flashing his torso cheekily.
“ Lie to me and tell me you don't like your bodyguard walking around your house half-naked.”
The blonde rolled her eyes.
“ I really don't know how I put up with you.”
Leon grimaced, taking the toast Ashley was holding out to him.
“ I wonder too, I guess idiots are attracted to each other.”
She turned around with puzzled eyes and let out an indignant gasp followed by a warning smile.
“ We're going to have it, Kennedy.”
The agent hissed derisively and, his tone tinged with mockery and coquetry, replied cheekily.
“ How pretty you look when you're angry.”
Ashley pulled out the frying pan and Leon jumped out of the chair.
She was going to strangle him. Then she would revive him to choke him again.
*
She finished typing the last sentence of the report and sighed, dropping back into her seat. She shook her brunette hair and lifted her brown eyes from the screen.
Down the hall the door chime sounded and a tall woman stepped out of it carrying a towel.
“ Isn't it too early to get ready yet?”
The greenish-eyed woman turned to her escort.
“ I'm always late everywhere, I'd like to be on time for my student's graduation.”
Maria arched her eyebrows and put her laptop away.
“ Or be early to see Agent Kennedy.”
A chuckle escaped Narsson's lips.
“ Wow, you've decided to give me his number? “
Maria frowned, getting up from the couch.
“ Do you really think I'm going to do it?”
“ Are you jealous?”  Enma laughed, walking into the living room and watching her bodyguard roll her eyes.
“ As pretty as you are Narsson, no, I'm not interested in you and neither should you be interested in your student's bodyguard.”
The teacher grunted and went back into the room.
“ We're all adults here, besides, she's no longer my student when she graduated.”
“ Is that your excuse? Really? Is that what you're doing to annoy Ashley? Because if not, I don't get it.”
“ I don't want to bother her, but I will admit that I am intrigued by her relationship with Leon.”
Maria held back a surprised laugh.
“ You mean, you want to touch her buttons? Is that it?” she paused, crossing her arms. “Is that a game to you, Narsson? Why is Ashley's life so appealing to you?”
She heard a sigh.
“ I'm not interested in her life, it's just that...since she came back from those 5 days she was sick a year and a half ago, she looked different, as if she had seen or...experienced something disturbing. After that she asked to come with me to Amherst.”
Mary was impassive, but inside she knew what he was referring to.
The secret she had been keeping for over a year and a half.
Only she and a few other people knew about it.
But among them was not Narsson...nor Leon and for now, until Ashley told her, it had to stay that way.
The agent sighed heavily.
“ Enma, that doesn't mean you can just barge into her life like that. You're her teacher, even though she's graduated, you're an adult and you're supposed to be helping her develop, not getting in the way by wanting to sleep with her bodyguard.”
A closet was heard shutting and Enma's head peeked through the door.
“ Who said anything about sleeping with him?”
Maria was beginning to lose patience with Narsson's tactlessness.
“Look, I'm not your mother, I'm your escort, but I'm still going to give you some advice. Whether it's to sleep with Leon or get information out of him about Ashley, don't do it. She trusts you, when everyone around her is trying to mess with her, don't fuck up the friendship you have with her, you don't know the things she's been through, but if you trust her and love her, she might tell you at some point.” She paused, looking at her witheringly “but don't betray her.”
Narsson looked at her escort sharply, feeling the weight of each word fall on her like stones.
“ She is a person, not a specimen to be investigated.” concluded the agent, picking up her laptop and sitting back down on the couch, ending the discussion.
The professor stared at her for a few seconds and then closed the door to her room. She leaned against the wall and her greenish eyes remained fixed on an infinite point, thoughtful.
And she sighed.
Maybe...maybe she'd gone too far.
Ever since she'd met Ashley in Boston, she'd been intrigued by her. Something about her made her feel that those golden eyes hid secrets that very few people knew.
And Narsson was known for her ambitious curiosity, which had led her to be a renowned Paleontologist at such a young age.
But when she saw Ashley...she wasn't curious, but...something more...personal.
Her curiosity sometimes brought out the worst in her and this time she had put her selfish desires for her student's bodyguard before Ashley's well-being.
And Maria had had to stop her. She had been blinded, but she could not deny that the sapphire-eyed man had an absurdly attractive aura.
It wasn't just his looks, but his voice, that deep gaze that hid something, that tilted smile that could have so many shades.
And when she met him she could see why Ashley radiated such a similar feeling.
It wasn't the same, but there were aspects they shared in surprising ways.
And the funny thing was that they didn't even seem to realize it themselves when they were together.
**
The dogs scampered around the park, playing with some of the children on the swings. Ashley stuck her hands in the pockets of her shorts and looked up at the treetops.
Her thoughts were forming traffic in her mind. She had been so focused on final exams that she had forgotten about the party she had planned to have when it was over.
And Leon's arrival had only accentuated it. She let out a long sigh, seeing the moment to tell him looming over her, but still having no fucking idea how to approach him.
“ Is something wrong? - a soft voice sounded next to her, making her turn around.” You seem to be deep in thought.
And again she delayed the inevitable.
“ I was thinking about the dress for the party. -she sighed.” And that Casey is going to make me wear something with heels.”
A chuckle escaped the agent's lips.
“ You just sounded like a rich girl worried that her purse wouldn't match her earrings.”
Ashley rolled her eyes.
“ Forgive me for prioritizing my chances of running efficiently.”
“ You can always wear a suit like me. - he scoffed.
“ I thought about it.”  her amber eyes looked at the ground, dodging, and her cheeks reddened with embarrassment. “But... I just... I really liked that dress..." she murmured, wanting the ground to swallow her up.
Leon looked at her for a few seconds holding back a laugh, but without much success.
Ashley grunted.
“ Yeah yeah, laugh at the posh girl.”
Leon apologized catching his breath.
“ Sorry, sorry, you surprised me, but come on, you're telling that to the guy who bought a motorcycle last month when I already have a car.”
Ashley seemed calmer, but Leon lashed out again.
“ But that doesn't take away from the fact that you sounded like a posh girl.”
She rapped her knuckles on his shoulder.
“ I'm going to make Mint eat your jackets.”
The agent's lopsided smile darkened menacingly.
“ Be careful what you threaten me with, princess.”
Ashley approached defiantly.
“ Are you going to throw me down a waste chute again?”
“ I have other ways that could make you scream for mercy.”
A tingle ran down Ashley's back, but she didn't back down.
“ Sounds interesting, you could teach me.”
The dangerous purr in her tone made Leon hold back an uneasy sigh. That same impulse he had in the car began to peek out, smiling from a corner in his body...dangerous.
A ball hit Leon's leg, causing him to turn toward the toy. He saw the kids calling out to him in the distance in the park and Leon picked up the ball to kick it at them with a sharp kick.
“ I guess kicking heads did you some good.” Ashley scoffed, watching him come back. He scoffed, putting his hands down his jeans.
“ I didn't think you'd be so nervous. “ Leon looked at her calmly. She turned around, surprised by his words.
“ Why do you say that?”
“ Because you're more of a tease and a joker when you are.”
Ashley looked at him puzzled.
“ Do I do that?”
“ You're not the only one who's learned things this time we've spent together.”
They both laughed softly, turning at the end of the road and Ashley's cell phone suddenly rang. The blonde looked at the number and saw it was Casey.
She picked up.
“ I have some ten-”
“ No.”
“ Then the stille-”
“ No way.”
“ Seven-centimeter ones?”
“ To sit still.”
They both fell silent and Leon listened to the situation with amusement. He heard Casey grunt.
“ The stilettos would look beautiful on you.
“ I'll wear those when I want to stab someone.”
Leon smiled at the image his mind had created and let Casey argue in vain with Ashley.
“ Fuck, Ashi.”  mumbled her friend watching her run out of options.
“ Look Casey, I'll let you pick out heels for me if they're functional, something that I would wear, not YOU, okay?
The line went silent for a few seconds.
“ Okay, Ems told us there's a changing room at the hotel if we want to use it.”
“ I'll wear the dress there.” She paused with one last warning. “Don't even think of bringing the stilletto and saying you got them mixed up, I'll go barefoot if you do."
“ Yeah, yeah, don't worry, I'll get you to wear them someday.” laughed her friend, making Ashley sigh in exasperation.
“ See you tonight.” she finally laughed, saying goodbye.
Ashley put the cell phone away with an exhale and a snicker caught her attention. She glanced at Leon, who was walking with a smile on his lips.
“ What's so funny?”
The agent slid his azure orbs over her like a caress.
“ I wouldn't have guessed you despised heels so much.”
“ I've never been enthusiastic about them and after Spain I appreciated flat shoes even more.”
“ Hmm…” Leon murmured at his protégé's words, causing her to arch an eyebrow.
He was thinking about something, in that thick head of his there were things and he wanted to know what it was that was making him have that amused smile on his lips. Ashley glanced at him suspiciously.
“ Leon, what are you thinking?”
A sly chuckle came from him.
“ Nothing special.”  his smile widened and he looked at her playfully. “Just how you'd look in high heels.”
The woman's amber eyes widened like saucers and her mouth parted in puzzlement.
“ I beg your pardon?” her cheeks reddened hopelessly.
Leon bit his cheek inwardly at the sight of those startled doe eyes.
“ I have to admit, I share Casey's curiosity to see what you'd look like in them.” Already flashing through his mind was the image of Ashley's figure wearing Friday's lingerie blouse and jeans, with high heels with a bit of a platform, black as ebony.
At how he would have to subtly raise his eyes to look at her.....
“ I can't believe it” the dramatic indignation in Graham's voice snapped him out of his thoughts..... “ I'm going to ask Hunnigan to change you, I want Patrick or Maria, anyone but you.”
Leon stopped dead in his tracks, holding his hand to his chest as if he'd been stabbed and dropping to his knees. Ashley went red in the face.
“ Please don't, I'll die without you princess!” he begged theatrically.
Ashley covered her face in shame.
“ Leon, please get up.”
But he kept up his act.
“I thought fate had brought us together again. Oh, how it pains me to hear you hate me! My heart bleeds at your hurtful words!”
She wanted to die. She looked at him burning with embarrassment. She grabbed his arm to make him get up and put an end to the circus he was putting on, but Leon grabbed her by the wrists, still kneeling in front of her.
“ I thought our love was strong, that it could get through any obstacle.”
“ I'm going to punch you, Kennedy.”  she warned, overcoming her tolerance for embarrassment.
“ Tell me that you love me, that you still WANT me to stay by your side, that you won't abandon me.”
If it was possible for Ashley's face to redden any more it did, causing Leon to smile victoriously. He grabbed her tightly when she tried to pull away from him and glared at him.
“ I swear Leon.”  she hissed in embarrassment at the eyes staring at them. - If you don't get up, Hunnigan is going to have to search my dogs' stomachs for your body. I WANT you to get up.
Leon widened his smirk, reaching over and pulling her close.
“ What little appreciation for the man who saved your life don't you think?”
Ashley growled rolling her eyes.
“ I'm regretting that you didn't shoot me by accident.”
Leon snorted a snicker and decided he had embarrassed her enough, so he got up.
Ashley wriggled away from him, but a strong arm wrapped around her shoulders.
“ How sensitive you are.” Leon muttered, earning a punch in the ribs that made him double over and cough. He watched Ashley walk briskly away from him and let out a laugh.
It had been a long time since he'd made an idiot out of himself like that, Patrick may have stuck his dramatics on him, but he was a real jerk.
But he loved being a jerk with her.
Some people crocheted, others read...for him making her rage and embarrassing her to death was his favorite pastime.
His new hobby.

A Champion Time For The Heart Ch40 The End
(This is it folks. Just one more left after this which will be the epilogue. The place where reader meets Arceus is based off the Legends of Arceus post game fight. Link below.

-DECEMBER-
The last month of the year arrived just like that after a grueling November filled with get this- More villain attacks, but Leon got to spend some more time with you (and Allister-) doing small things like playing with Allister or just walking around and going out to eat between his training for the Masters League event being held next month just two days after Christmas.

Chapter Four: The Suitors
I made my way through the halls of castle Octavian. My Uncle had the hall decorated in gold and red, the colors of House Octavian. Shields hung adorned with red and gold counterchanged hunting dogs. This was the symbol of the House. The carpet was a rich crimson. The air smelled of a riot of perfumes, body odor, alcohol, and talc. People were wandering towards the great hall. I caught snippets of conversation as I moved through the crowd.
“I invoked my precognition gift on this party. But all I could see was that somebody gets slapped.”
“The alchemist delivered your little blue pills this morning, so you’d better not eat too much. I expect you to be ready for the after party!”
“I made an offering to the Quintuple Lords of Misfortune. We should have protection against bad luck in this venture.”
“Did you hear about the attack last night? Something mauled a blacksmith at his forge last night, before dawn. The guards suspect either a werewolf or a barghest. But last night wasn’t a full moon, so it would have to have been a hereditary werewolf.”
“I heard that Duke Leon’s ship, the Verity, saw action yesterday. They chased a suspected smuggling vessel, but the vessel escaped using a fog potion.”
“Helen, we need more canape in the grand hall. Get some from the kitchen.”
I listened with interest. Moonlight Hearts took place in a fantasy world. But except for alchemy and werewolves, the fantasy had seemed like window dressing. But now, I lived in this world. And understanding how the magic and the supernatural worked would be important. It would matter how it affected my day to day. Lynn had described the setting as low magic or low fantasy. I wasn’t sure I agreed.
I’d listened to a conversation about the alchemical version of Viagra. I'd heard somebody describe a fantasy smoke grenade. That sounded pretty high fantasy to me. Werewolves skirted the line in my mind. And offerings to gods or what not seemed pretty normal for low fantasy.
I reached the top of the grand staircase and stopped. What was I going to do? Trapped in a video game, what could I do? I’d decided to be the best friend. But what did that mean? To me it meant supporting the heroine and helping her get what she wanted. Whatever that was. So what was I going to do? I decided that I’d best start by getting to know the suitors, that was the purpose of the game after all, marrying a suitor. I knew the four of them well enough. But unlike when I played the game, now I had to actually interact with them, not simply select canned responses provided by the game’s writers. That would be a challenge. So that was my goal for the moment, meet the suitors and get a sense of them as people and not game assets.
I paused to look down on the great hall. The walls were the color of heavy cream. Wall hangings in gold and red accented the cream color. The families of House Octavian lived on the Castle estate. My uncle, Baron Giles, was lord of the house. Membership in the house granted people benefits. It granted a place in Castle Octavian and the surrounding manor. I looked out over the assembled people. I could see my father, Lord Jean Octavian, speaking with my mother, Lady Evelyn. I could also see the suitors for the game. They stood talking with each other, amidst the families.
Prince Wulfric had his hand on a court sword as they spoke. He was the only noble wearing a weapon, I noticed. He wore black riding boots of some sort, although I couldn’t see details at this distance. He wore a ring on his right pinky, which I suspected was a signet ring. He was attractive if you liked violent bad boys. He wore a goatee and kept his long dark hair hanging loose. He wore a monocle, despite being far too young to pull off the effect. He grinned like a predator and leaned forward like a vulture. But he had the mass of a bodybuilder and filled out his breeches and tailcoat. Men weren’t my thing, but I could tell when one was good looking. Lynn would have called him a lumbersexual.
Beside the prince stood a thin muscular man in a Hyperborean army dress uniform. The second man wore a saber at his hip. He had a drooping handlebar mustache. He had shaved his skull completely bald, exposing tattoos on his temples. He wasn’t one of the suitors. I didn’t recognize him.
Duke Leon Delmar stood a full head above the others. His skin had acquired a deep tan and he wore his blonde hair long and tied back in a braid. He wore the blue uniform of the Yssian Navy and black riding boots. He also wore a ring on his pinky, and I noticed stud earrings with some sort of clear gem mounted. I noted a startling number of awards on the uniform. And I found myself wondering if the duke had earned those medals. As a member of the royal family, he might have awarded them to himself. He looked like a gymnast who worked as a lifeguard. And his features were those of a Greek God.
Count Vincent Metternich was the shortest of the men. From this distance, I guessed he was shorter than I was. I thought he was five foot ten. He was a dark-skinned man, with black curly hair kept long in beach waves. He wore a black Spencer jacket. He wore this rather than the traditional tailcoat of the Agarthan nobility. He paired the Spencer jacket with white trousers. He wore black leather hunting boots that fit under the trousers. He wore silver earrings that were either stud or huggie style. Vincent was the closest the game came to a character who was average in appearance. And even here, the Count was still attractive, with an aquiline nose and high cheekbones.
Countess Fiona Myrddhin stood a little shorter than Amy. I guessed her height to be between five foot and five foot three. She wore a lapis lazuli blue sleeveless gown with a pair of cool pink four-inch stiletto sandals. The gown had a dramatic plunging neckline. She wore a matching cool pink sash across her hip, bound with a gold cylindrical ornament. I stared. I knew what Fiona Myrddhin looked like, but now I was seeing her in person. Her father was Yssian nobility, but her mother was Scythian royalty. Her Scythian heritage was clear on her darker skin and black hair. She wore cool pink lipstick and dark purple smokey eyeshadow. Her skin was beautiful, and her décolletage was stunning. Her body was a symphony of swooping arcs and curves. She was stunning with her graceful neck and shoulders. From the scandalous low neckline on her dress down to hips on display due to her form fitting dress. She wore a gold choker necklace and white opera gloves which accented the dress.
“You’re staring,” Somebody whispered behind me. I turned to see Amy walk past me down the staircase with a tray of drinks. I blushed again and shook my head. This is what happens in a world populated by characters instead of real people. Everyone here was attractive or- more often- beautiful. That’s what game designers like. I knew from experience watching the game. The only plain or ugly people were either villains or comic relief. This upset me, but it was also useful. For instance: Mildred, my mother’s personal maid looked like a bulldog sucking on a lemon. Mildred was the oldest and most senior of the maids. She was not in charge on paper. But in practice, she was in charge of the female staff in Castle Octavian. I watched her smack the back of Amy’s head, and gritted my teeth as Amy flinched. I’d reprimand Mildred, but it would do no good. As my mother's private maid, she answered to mother first. And mother outranked me. I was higher in the line of succession, but she was still my mother. Or rather, she was still the rival’s mother.
I saw the rival’s two sisters. They were the nice ones: Catherine and Katarina. I was the evil stepsister in this story, even though I was a cousin. I would hesitate before calling them smart. In the game they were walking talking valley girl stereotypes. But they provided useful gossip to the heroine. Catherine wore a sapphire blue mermaid tail gown with terrifying pump heels. She had her strawberry blonde hair in a perm that screamed to the eighties. Katarina wore a cranberry red A-line evening gown. He had paired that with white sling-back heels as tall as her sisters. Both stood at least five foot nine inches, with the heels they cleared six feet.
The heroine wasn’t here yet. Which I guess made sense. In the game all the main characters were present when the player arrived at this scene. I began descending the staircase. I took my time and ran over what I knew about each of the suitors. The two big fish of the lot were Prince Wulfric and Duke Leon.
Wulfric was the eldest son of King Hardrada of Hyperborea and first in line for the throne. He was infamous among the nobility of the region for being a sadist and a bully. He’d been engaged once already, to an Agarthan duchess, but she had died in a carriage accident. People had whispered about the accident being a lie to cover up the prince’s misdeeds. People whispered that he liked to strike servants and commoners on a whim. People said he had killed five nobles in duels.
Leon was a duke, and younger brother by fifteen years to the current King of Ys: Godwin Delmar III. Like Prince Wulfric, he was royalty. Unlike Wulfric, his power outside his own duchy counted for very little. Ys was a constitutional monarchy, administered by the house of lords. The King was a figurehead. The dukes ruled through the house of lords. Within their own duchy, a duke’s power was absolute. Outside it, they had little more than their wealth. But Leon was also commander of the Royal Navy. And he was duke of the duchy where our castle resided. So that would weigh on the calculations. By all accounts he was also a sweet guy. And I knew from watching Lynn, that Leon was the nicest of the four by a wide margin.
Vincent was a count and Fiona was a countess, making them equal in status. Vincent being a foreign noble meant that he was useful for alliance building. The heroine’s father was a baron, lower rank than a prince or duke, but higher than a count or countess. But taking Vincent for an alliance with Agartha held strong attraction. Agartha was the only nation in the region able to match the strength of Hyperborea. Fiona’s big selling feature, aside from being stunning, was that her county capital. Myrddhin City was the busiest port in the Boro Sea. Ships from Hyperborea resupplied in the port of Myrddhin City. They then headed south to Agartha. And Agarthan ships did likewise as they sailed north to Hyperborea.
So, to recap, Wulfric had the highest position in the aristocracy but was an abusive monster. Leon was royalty in a kingdom where royalty didn’t matter much, but ruled the region where we actually lived. Vincent would allow for an alliance with a foreign nation and had the advantage of not being Wulfric. And Fiona controlled the richest port city in the region, but was otherwise small fry.
I reached the floor and considered my options.
If I was going to be honest with myself, the idea of trying to court Fiona appealed to me a lot. She was a noble and I was, now, a noble. The match was acceptable, and might be the only way I could escape marrying a man. And since I might be stuck here for who knows how long, I didn’t want a life trapped in a living hell. Fiona was something of an ice queen in the game. She seemed to have trouble talking to people. She could be blunt and hurt people without realizing she had. And I wasn’t sure that I had the social skills to romance her in unscripted real life. Listen to me. Real life? This?
What was I going to do? Well, first things first, I was going to meet the suitors. Then I was going to become my new cousin’s best friend. I would support her quest for whichever suitor she wanted. I would help her get her dream and stop the game from killing me in the process. Unless she wanted Fiona. Maybe. I didn’t know yet.

Ikemen Prince Headcanons - How the Suitors react when MC gifts them a plushie of their crest animal
This was an idea rolling around in my silly head for too long. I mentioned it on Discord, and they demanded I post this. So here ya go.
I'll make this in a few parts and post the links when they're posted.
Part 2 - Leon' Faction
Chevalier Michel
"What is this?" he asked, as he stared into the bag you presented him.
You smiled as he pulled out a soft, plush baby white tiger. He held it gingerly, as if he didn't want to dirty his hands with this item. "It's a tiger, like the one on your crest."
"And what am I supposed to do with this? Does it...do anything?"
"No," you replied sheepishly. "It's decorative. You can put it on a shelf. Or maybe your bed." The second prince look mortified at the idea of this thing sitting amongst his precious books.
"It's okay if you don't like it, I can take it back," you offered, reaching out for the plush tiger.
"No," he said quietly, awkwardly hugging the tiger to his chest. "I'll find...something to do with it."
The next morning after you awoke, you went to Chevalier's room, knowing he'd still be asleep.
Cracking open the door, you found his sound asleep, the tiger nestled in his arms.
Clavis Lelouch
"A gift? For little old me?" Clavis was stunned to receive a gift from you.
Clavis pulled out the plush leopard, immediately examining it with curiosity.
"Do you like it?" you asked nervously.
"Is this a prank?" he asked, poking at the leopard, waiting for it to do something.
"No, silly, it's a plush, it's not some trick."
Clavis stopped, his gaze softening. "You're not trying to prank me?"
You laughed as his eyes lit up with delight. "You mean...I can use this for pranks?"
From that day on, no one in the palace was safe.
One day, you were with Yves when you were attacked. The plush leopard was launched at you from the nearby staircase, its owner's distinctive laugh heard in the distance as Yves shrieked, pulling the plush off himself.
Nokto Klein
"A gift? For me?" He purred seductively.
When he pulled out a plush fox and not something, ahem, sexier he looked at you in confusion.
"A fox for my sexy fox," you replied.
Satisfied with your answer, Nokto pulled you into a tight embrace and kissed you.
The next time you visited his room, you saw the plush fox sitting on the nightstand next to his bed, your gift always close to him.
Luke Randolph
"You got me a bear!" Luke practically shouted as he pulled his gift out of the bag.
"Calm down, Luke," you said, trying to stifle your laughter. "It's just a little something I saw in town earlier and I thought of you."
Luke immediately introduced your bear to the bear he wore that he sewed himself.
In the weeks that followed, you were frequently invited by Luke to tea parties with his two bears where you all drank honey tea and shared honey cakes.
