KNY Swap Au Ramblings P2
I've seen a lot of others make their own versions of a swap au and I wanted to create one too just for fun. None of this is cannon, and not everyone will be swapped out and it'll have my own twists on things. And have some things added for new story elements.
Most of the role swaps I've seen are usually with either Sanemi and Genya or Gyutaro and Ume replacing Nezuko and Tanjiro. Or the rolls are swapped with Tanjiro being the demon instead. But for this I'm swapping out the Kamado Siblings for the Tokito Twins. I won't go into depth about everyone but I will give important differences to the story.
WARNINGS: Mentioning of killing, death, regular demon slayer content, etc.
EDIT: If you don't agree with any of the placements or head cannons that's fine. This is only my take on things.
Some people liked my Swap Demons concept so I decided to do a second but with the Swap Haishira.  If you don't agree with the placements or headcannons like before that's fine. And again not everyone will be swapped out or changed.
I based Swap Muzan partially on the swap au headcannons by @demonslayedher on Tumblr.
MASTER MUZAN KIBUTSUJI AND HIS FAMILY:
Honestly not much about him as a person has changed. He's still very much scheming, cunning, smart, strategic, and has a temper. The only difference is that he doesn't really y'know kill, eat, and murder people like Cannon Muzan. He runs the Demon Slayer corps like a smart well oiled machine and somehow he's very good at it. Of course not many people in the corps have the mind to oppose him with his temper and hatred for being tested. Despite his... personality, he's a very efficient planner and more than once some of his plans have worked in stopping demons. Despite his own short comings and the disease he has, his abilities to run the corps effectively has earned him the loyalty of most of the slayers. Even if not everyone likes him as a person they can admit he's an efficient leader. He may not always be understanding but he's smart enough to know how to approach sensitive topics and deal with the consequences that comes with having slayers and being the leader of the corps.
Not much of the disease has changed. The only difference is that he has it in this timeline instead of Kagaya.
His wife, Rei Kibutsuji, is the one who helps run the corps if her husband's disease is too much for him to deal with that day. She was engaged to Muzan when they were both sixteen due to her family's various connections to resources and married at eighteen. Her family's various connections and resources has been a great help to the corps. Providing various medications for them to experiment with to combat the disease plauging the Kibutsuji family for generations, secret hiding courters for various slayers in the areas, Intel, and other things which helps. Her more level headed calm persona often helps to balance her husband's temper and her insight to various situations and things help him to make better choices in some instances. She is almost like a mother figure to the younger slayers in the corps and many respect her opinions on difficult situations.
They both have a single daughter, Muzan's heir, around the age of ten. Not much is known about her but she's very wise for her age and attends the final selection in place of her mother if she cannot spare a moment from her father otherwise she is always by her father's side helping him. Her first name is unknown to everyone but her parents and is a well guarded secret for security measures. Most call her by her given title of 'Young Kibutsuji'.
HAISHIRA DOUMA:
Honestly Douma as a character and personality wise does not change one bit. He is still emotionless, apathetic, and everyone still dislikes him. But his story changes slightly as a slayer. His parents were originally followers of Gyomei's cult and upon his birth believed to be blessed by the gods with such a beautiful child. Thus child Douma became the (sideshow-) poster child whenever his parents went out with others to spread the 'good word' of Gyomei's eternal paradise cult. When he was about 8 the same instances occur in cannon. Douma's mother finds her husband cheating with other follower while out trying to recruit more followers. After killing her husband and his affair partner she took her own life leaving Douma just... standing there. Awkwardly just staring. Before just leaving to just...wonder aimlessly really for a long time until after a long time he's attacked by a demon in the mountains after attempting to seek shelter in a shrine as it was something familiar to him. A fight insued in which he nearly died if Urokodaki hadn't come along, he may be retired but he could still slay a low level demon in self defense if needed. The man is surely confused by why such a young child is here by himself, but is even more shocked by the fact he didn't show any emotion at almost getting killed by a demon. Unsure of what exactly else to do, Urokodaki decides to take him under his wing for now.
Later he did end up later learning water breathing techniques from Urokodaki along with Hakuji, and two other boys named Sabito and Giyuu who both went missing or died in their final selection. During his training Douma has formed a personal breathing style derived from Water Breathing known as Ice breathing which match his cold personality. Strongest Haishira which makes Hakuji angry. Actually was the one who ended up recruiting Gyutaro into the slayers after finding both himself and Ume in the entertainment district during a mission. He doesn't have any real reason to be a slayer other than it gives him some kind of purpose. Personally no one really likes him except for Gyutaro whom is grateful for the help he's received from him. Muzan only hasn't gotten rid of him yet because he's a honestly a very powerful force on the battlefield.
Was actually the one who found the brothers in the mountains while tracking down a powerful demon and took pity on them after seeing Yuichiro's unnatural demon behavior. That's what you're supposed to do right? Help others! He was nearly executed by Akaza for his actions at the next Haishira meeting.
HAISHIRA HAKUJI A.K.A AKAZA:
Not much changes a lot about Akaza's backstory other than instead of poison Koyuki and her father were slain by demons instead of poison. Shocked, in grief, and filled with rage Akaza began hunting demons down on his own. He was unaware that a demon Slayer corps existed at the time until he also ended up just coming across Urokodaki in a similar fashion to how Douma was. Similar to Douma, Akaza developed his own Snow Breathing style derived from water Breathing, and fights a mixture of using his blade and his own physical body up close to deal damage with brass knuckles embedded with Nichirin spikes if demons are close enough. His previous martial art skills helps him to be flexible and untouchable in battle.  Despite studying under the same teacher and both having breathing styles derived from water breathing, Akaza HATES Douma. He hates his fake personality and how he acts all buddy, buddy to him. His mission is to eradicate the demon king and avenge Koyuki's death. The most loyal to Master Muzan. Akaza respects his serious attitude and cunning mind.
He thinks Douma sparing Yuichiro and Muichiro was a stupid idea and has mixed feelings about it all. Much rather prefers to be around the Kamado Siblings he himself recruited.
HAISHIRA GYUTARO AND UME:
Gyutaro is actually the Haishira. Ume is works safely at the butterfly mansion with Kanao, Aoi, and Nezuko in care for the slayers and kakushi who need to heal (changing my mind on Aoi and Kanao being demons). Backstory wise everything still proceeds as is cannon. Haishira Douma happened to have stumbled across the two siblings while hunting the previous Lower Moon Three in the area at the time. Feeling sorry for the two, he brought them back with him and sorta just dropped the two in Shinobu's lap. Gyutaro is extremely grateful to Douma for helping him and when the older man expressed interest in Gyutaro's already good fighting skills, he suggested that he join the corps since he has no where else to go. Unfortunately due to Gyutaro's unusual body conditions, he wasn't able to master the breathing styles Douma tried to teach them. Shinobu in a rare form of kindness after seeing Gyutaro interactions with Ume, offered to teach him her Insect Breathing she mastered because her body also isn't as strong as most Haishira. Gyutaro is the Mantis Haishira having previously learnt insecct breathing from Shinobu before her strange disappearance. He fights using his thin but flexible body like a preying mantis striking his prey. His weapons are duel Nichirin scycles custom made from his memories of using them for his job. He is surprisingly very good at killing demons and enjoys his new purpose.
Ume is often wanting to become a slayer like her brother, but Gyutaro forbids it forcing her to stay in the butterfly mansion with the other girls out of harm's way. Not much to say about her. Her whiny personality often collides with Aoi who keeps her spoiled attitude in check when making her help around the mansion while her older brother is out slaying demons. She does get the occasional visit from the Ice Haishira tho it's rare.
RETIRED HAISHIRA NAKIME:
Again not much to say about Nakime. Y'know that guy from Dororo who can use the sword in his biwa? Yeah that's her. Retired Sound Haishira. She can still slay demons with ease however she has retired after killing the Demon Tengen and his wives with a few other Slayers and loosing her eye I the process however she remains behind in the corps to help Urokodaki and others train the new slayer recruits.
HAISHIRA HANTENGU:
Not much is known about the quadruplets and their younger brother. They were all brought in one way or another from a horrible family situation by Rei after their grandfather Hantengu had a mental break and their father Urami just up and left them all.
Sekido is the oldest one and trained with Kaigaku and Zenitsu by gramps and is a few years older than them. He and Kaigaku are always butting heads and tolerates Zenitsu only to an extent because he reminds him a smidge of Aizetsu. But otherwise he dislikes the 'whiny lightning brat'.
Aizetsu is the only current water breathing Haishira after training with Urokodaki and mastering the style. He deals with depression after everything he endured and is always worried about his brothers especially Zohakutan being the youngest.
Karaku is the current Wind Haishira. Self explanatory. Often he's paired with Sekido for missions. Despite the two brothers fighting like cats and dogs with rabies, they are surprisingly very good at fighting together during life or death situations. May or may not have a crush on someone in the corps.
Urogi is the only Hantengu brother who isn't a Haishira or Slayer. He is unable to use any breathing styles unlike his other four brothers. No one is sure why and honestly he's a little disappointed and sad, but he found a good purpose of helping to care for the many messenger crows that the corps uses. He's surprisingly very good with them and even matched many crows with their perfect match in a slayer including all of his brothers and surprisingly Akaza. Is the closest with Zohakutan as he's always the one who constantly keeps tabs on baby bro using his birds. Zoha thinks it's annoying but the comfort of having someone to fall back on for help is comforting to him.
Zohakutan so far is the youngest Haishira only a few years younger than his older brothers at 14. He's developed a breathing style all on his own Nature Breathing after his three Haishira brothers all tried training him in their own breathing styles. Somehow Zoha was able to mix the three plus add his own differences to create his own unique breathing style. It's proved to be very effective against demons. He's very loyal to Master Muzan after he let them stay and takes killing demons very seriously. Possibly more seriously than Sekido and honestly is always trying to surpass his older brothers to prove to them that they don't have to worry about him. Surprisingly he likes Tanjiro and Nezuko. Tanjiro's personality won him over and Nezuko is the little sister he never had. A lot of the time you can find him sparing with Inosuke.
SWORDSMITH GYOKKO:
Gyokko is the swordsmith who's responsible for the strange concoctions of weaponry that the current slayers use and his biggest rival is Haganezuka. While Haganezuka absolutely hates, hates, HATES Gyokko making strange weapons and for constantly tinkering with the 'true beauty of the blade', Gyokko hates that his fellow swordsmiths 'have no artistic creativity!!' Gyokko is the only swordsmith who is willing to 'get creative' and take special requests from his slayers. But because of his attitude like Haganezuka he rarely gets any requests. He personally made Akaza's Nichirin spiked brass knuckles, Douma's Nichirin fans, and Gyutaro's Nichirin scycles as they actually saw an opportunity to use his creative skills. Because of that they're his favorite Haishira but he also gets upset whenever he has to replace the unique creations he made for them. It's unclear if he is the one who made Nakime's biwa sword but as the two older people talk it's not a far off possiblity.
He doesn't just make swords and weapons. Gyokko also dabbled in pottery and has made his own monstrous mask he constantly wears. Douma has expressed the beauty in his pots and was gifted one as a result along with his battle fans. It still sits in his estate. Haganezuka and Gyokko once got into an argument where Haganezuka ended up kicking one of Gyokko's vases destroying it. That resulted in the worst fight the two had up to present day lasting for hours and ended up with both of them needing bed rest for several months. The two swordsmiths are no longer allowed within twenty feet of each other.
DOCTOR ENMU:
Enmu is by far the most hated member of the corps second to Douma...buuuut he knows his way around medicine and he owes a lot of money to Muzan so this is his way of paying it back. Despite his..'quirk' he's a competent doctor and knows a lot about anatomy. Whenever he's given a demon from final selection to disect- Study or is tasked with researching Muzan's blood and skin cells from his sickened skin, he's very creepily excited and motivated. He used to speak to Shinobu about his discoveries from dissecting demons and ask about her wysteria poisoning techniques until her mysterious disappearance. When Shinobu disappeared all of the full nursing duties became his responsibility and he took over the butterfly estate partially run by Aoi. He's since found her notebooks and journals of her experiments and continues her research. Will later assist Tamayo with her cure for demon kind.
He was hoping to study Yuichiro's body if Sekido ended up killing him but unfortunately he wasn't allowed to do anything. Still occasionally asks Muichiro for some of his brother's blood despite his disgust.
TSUNAGU KAIGAKU:
Not much changes about Kaigaku's backstory. He's a few years younger than Sekido and his brothers and two years older than Zohakutan. Like Sekido has mastered enough Thunder Breathing to become Sekido's tsunagu but not by choice. Muzan assigned Kaigaku this placement because Sekido can and WILL scare Kaigaku back into place when his ego goes unchecked including using physical punishment and harsh training when he thinks it's needed. Kaigaku HATES it and Sekido...But it's been effective and he has become more humble and has learnt to not have such a big attitude after Sekido threw him using a single hand to throw him across the room for the fifth time in one day.
Zenitsu and him fight like siblings (see Kimetsu Gauken on this-) but has learnt not to throw things at him anymore after Tanjiro headbutted him and knocked him unconscious for a few hours. Despite that he can tolerate Tanjiro and Zenitsu to an extent but always fights with Inosuke and Zohakutan. He much prefers to go on missions with Kanao and Muichiro if he's supposed to have a partner for missions as they're usually easier for him to go on missions with. Genya is like him so he can somewhat tolerate his presence if he's not being trained by someone else.
Between Sekido's harsh lessons, Muzan's scoldings, and Tanjiro's kind advise(and humbling headbutts) he's learnt to become a bit better as a person. Not a lot but better, and Tanjiro is always trying to be friends with him. There's hope for him yet.
That's it so far for my ideas on some swap Haishira. I might do a third one with my Swap headcannons for the swap Kamaboko squad and Muichiro and Yuichiro if anyone's interested in that.

Ocean Deep Ch5 Problems And Life
(WARNINGS: Someone's barn does get semi burnt down but no one gets hurt or killed, Mentioning of a wound on Y/ns hand. Mentioning of death.
Will have a small time skips in a few places.)
Tumblr media
The night was quiet tonight. Nothing but the crickets chirping and the frogs croaking to the woods surrounding the small town asleep to her actions. The only source of light being the stars above and the bobbing lantern in a pair of old grizzled hands.
The old woman shuffled about looking over her shoulders constantly with squinting eyes scanning the darkness for any wondering eyes. Of course none were to be seen this late at night as everyone else was already fast asleep and anyone still awake was sensible enough to stay inside out of the darkness. Grizzled hands hands turned back to the lock on the chains that were so tightly wound around the double doors. A rusted old key was placed inside the lock and with a click it fell to the ground at her feet. A series of clanks followed by the rope of chains following it to the ground. Silence resumed once again as eyes gave one last look around before the door creaks open and in she went.
"Alright you disgusting fish bait," her voice echoed in the darkness as the lantern light illuminated the surrounding areas. "Here's your food. Keep up the good behavior and maybe I'll consider giving you one feeding a day."
No one answered her. However a sight unusual as the creatures she cared for was spotted by the light.  A strange crunching sensation under her feet that wasn't there the last time she was here. The light illuminated..straw?? Confusion turned to horror and panic as she followed trail and saw a massive pile of hay disturbed. The top completely slumped over and a hole dug right in the middle revealing the floor underneath. Thud went the lantern as it shattered to the ground, and thus went the fish as it tumbled to the floor.
"...No. No. No no no no no no no!" Hay and straw flew  through the air as old hands dug into the pile as her body lunged into it. "NO! NO! NO!"
BOX! BOX! WHERE WAS THE BOX?!...There was NO box! That didn't make any sense! Why was there no box?! Where was the box?! It was supposed to be here! Why wasn't it here!? No one has the key! The doors were locked! The chains were undesturbed! No one else has been here! NO ONE SHOULD KNOW....about...the..She paused. Dropping the hay in her hands before slowly turning to the curtain of old tarps and fishnets. ...No. no. NO!! Her feet shuffled as quickly as they could in her old age to the curtains. Practically ripping the things from their hinges as she tore past them temporarily getting tangled in their grip before wretching her hand free and stop in front of the filthy tank. Absolutely nothing moved within it's murky waters. No signs of any life within it's foul depths.
"NO NO NO NO!! You must be in there! You must!" Weak fists balled up and hit the dirty glass not even putting a crack in it. "ANSWER ME!!"
No answer came back. Panicked old legs hurried back to where the lights were sparking out from between the cracks of broken glass. Why?! How?! Who could have done this?! Where did they go?!  This made no sense! No sense at all! Someone was behind this! Who?! A burning smell filled the air as she turned to it's source, and screamed as flamed danced across the hay strewn floors-
"Good morning everyone! I hope you're hungry because I made you a few pies!"
You smiled at the three women gazing at you from the tub as you carried in the tray with three massive fruit pies on it. You'd gotten up bright and early in the morning to rummage around your pantry in search for anything to make these three. You wanted make sure they were actually well fed before you released them at the end of next month, this wasn't meat but it WAS filling especially if they were big pies filled with nutritious fruit and was sweetened with honey instead of sugar, which honey was also healthier for you. As long as the food was filling and good for them, then that's all that mattered. But you'd still be sure to try to get them more meats too. It was times like this that you were glad to live in a fishing community.  There was always fish laying around or dropped from passing carts you nabbed or the venders selling cheap fish a few days old that wasn't shipped off in their bigger hauls to other bigger towns. You were sure you could nab some more somewhere.
"HHHHHHAAAA!! THAT SMELLS SO YUMMY!!," Suma shouted in awe at the tray and lightly drooling at the sight.
Makio was right next to her looking bored again and raising a brow as Hinatsuru only smiled as usual. "Pie? What's a pie?"
"It's essentially a desert but it's on the healthier side of deserts," you explained placing the warm baked goods in front of them, "It's just fruits cut or smashed up and mixed up with sugar and wrapped in bread dough before you bake it. I just happened to use honey instead since that seemed like a better option for you. You can make pot pies with meats and vegetables too but unfortunately I had no meat for any pot pie recipes. Sorry." You didn't bring utensils this time already figuring out that mermaids preferred to eat with their hands instead.
"These will be fine. Thank you."
Suma immediately grabbed the first one which was a mix of cherries and other fruit and honey before just taking a huge chop off the top of it. You blinked as red berry juice smeared her lower face as she hummed in delight.
"Its so good!!," she gushed between chews.
Makio yelled something about manners as Hinatsuru sighed, but you couldn't help but blink. Before giggling at the sight. Suma's bubbly and energetic attitude sure was something. She was a lot emotionally but to be fair she had a good reason to be so fair away from home. But she looked so cute and ridiculous pouting with full cheeks as Makio scolded her you couldn't help but smile. Makio was pretty in her own right too. Compared to the others, Makio was the most serious and ready to jump into situations but she meant well and her protective nature was sweet despite her constant bickering. Hinatsuru was the one who had the brains to keep level head and seemed to be the leader as both Makio and Suma followed her lead. Did mermaids even have heirchy systems?? Hmm. Maybe you should research them a bit more, just enough to make their stay more comfortable.
Your giggling had the three stopping to look at you. Their eyes widening. For the first time in the four days they've been there, this was the first time they've seen the human girl smiling at them. It made the three almost stars in awe as she smiled and giggled at their antics before speaking again.
"Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I'll grab you a few towels and enough food to tide you over until I can come back from work but I'll try to grab a few fish on the way back."
Makio nudged the tray aside and reached out to make grabbing reaches at your still injured palm. By now you've figured out that it seemed in mermaid nature to care for one another. You've walked in on Suma and Hinatsuru helping to pull loose gold scales from Makio's tail and to the three fixing up each other's hair with the comb you've leant them. So you allowed them(usually Makio) to 'treat' your wounds even though you've already taken cared of it. MaYou had gathered all the gold scales along with what was left of the torn box and just burnt everything in your fireplace. It would've looked suspicious just burying it and throwing it away might've lead someone to spot you, so you figured burning up all the evidence was the best solution. Makio gave your bare palm a look over and the wound that wasn't really deep and was already scabbed over. The mermaid just stared at it closely before making you lower more and dip your hand into the water where she proceeded to scrub at it with her knuckles. You suspected she opted for her knuckles instead because of the sharp nails these three had. Didn't want to cut you further. It stung a bit, but the way Makio did it wasn't hard enough to really hurt.
If you really had to compare them to something, it'd be a small trio of wolves. Hinatsuru was the leader while the other two followed her lead and the trio helped one another with things.
"Thank you. But haven't you already been to work? How many times must you go?"
"I work Mondays to Fridays. Today's Friday so I'll have the next two days off until next Monday."
"You humans stress yourselves too much." Makio frowned at your hand lifting it from the water before you knew it there was another ripping sound. Another long wet strip of fabric was soon being wrapped around your hand. You'd just let them keep the destroyed dress. It wasn't worth starting a fight over. "There. Much better. I don't know why you keep taking it off!"
Because people would get suspicious and ask questions. It was easier to hide your wound if there wasn't a bandage on your hand. All you had to do was keep your palm facing down and hide your hand enough until it scars over or completely heals up. And if anyone asks, you'll just give the excuse of cutting your hand on a pair of gardening sheers.
"I'll think about it." You gently pulled your now wrapped hand away. "But I need to work in order to get money which I use to buy food, and now more than ever I need that money." You stood back up smiling at the three whilst Suma continued to practically shove her entire face into her pie. "I'm gonna go get some food to leave you guys. While I'm gone, remember to be quiet so you don't alert anyone. As far as everyone knows you three and I are the only ones who knows you're here."
Which meant Suma couldn't cry loudly and Makio couldn't just yell at her. There was no way you could explain why you had three mermaids decked out in gold and jewels in your tub, and worse there was no way you could explain you literally trespassed on someone's property twice and broke in to steal. You'd be punished severely for all the treachery. You were already taking a big risk deciding to keep them here until they were properly fed enough to combat the days of going hungry. You just wanted your normal life free from the stress of supernatural beings and just the way it was.
"Don't worry. We will."
That's how it started. It should've been a peaceful morning. You'd left them with enough food to last them the few hours until you were able to come back home, and left to go to work. However there was a problem. As you walked along the roads and normal buzz of people there seemed to be a certain.. tension in the air. It was hard to explain really. But it was like if you stepped into the middle of your parents arguing and they tried to pretend they weren't arguing. A few groups of people were in clusters in the street whispering and pointing at the end of the road which confused you because there was nothing there other than the normal houses and people out and about. That was really..strange. You only shook your head and continued walking until you stopped in front of the shop- And WHY was there a cluster of people around the shop doors? A small group of around eight or nine people were gathered in front of the doors and peering at them like a sideshow.
Alright. That was absolutely strange.
You brushed it off at first. Sometimes if there was a particularly beautiful display people would gather around  to look at it, but the closer you got you noticed that the faces didn't look...Happy. your walking slowed considerably. They were all frowns. Uncertain of curious looks. Oh no. Instantly the worst case scenario crossed your mind as a possibility. Did someone else disappear?! Were they also carried away from town by a monster?! Was someone else here to pick out flower arrangements for a funeral or memorial service? Who was it this time? Was it someone you know?
You felt a hefty rock in your guts as you continued forward. A lump formed in your throat which you swallowed thickly. Wondering what your boss would say about the situation-
"I'LL ASK FOR THE FIFTH AND LAST TIME!! WHERE DID YOU PUT IT?!"
....Wait. Your boss wouldn't say that to a grieving family. That sounds so rude.
"I'm...sorry?? But I don't understand what you mean. Were the rose bushes not to your liking? I can give you a refund for everything but you'll need to return the plants first."
Ah. Now THAT sounded much more like Mrs. Satoshi. You blinked again as a frustrated yell came from the open front door...Hey. Wait a minute. That second voice wasn't your boss. It sounded much older, raspier, and a lot ruder. Something wasn't right. You approached the door but yelped as a smaller figure exited the front door and shoving people out of the way.
"THIS ISN'T OVER YOU THEIVING BASTARDS!!" a smaller older woman stopped just outside the crowd and raised a fist at the shop entrance shaking it in a fit of pure rage. "I KNOW YOU HAVE IT SOMEWHERE IN THERE AND WHEN I FIND IT, YOU'LL HANG BY YOUR THEIVING FINGERS!!" She then turned on her heel and stomped away- "MOVE!!" She shrieked at you as you jumped out of the way watching her go by.
...You blinked. And blinked again. Before shaking your head and looking at the shop again and making your way back towards the shop.
"Alright. There's nothing to see here people." Nico sternly shooed the crowd away from the door. "If you're not buying flowers then you need to leave. Go on. Shoo!"
You went straight through the mumbling crowd as they slowly dispersed and Nico looked surprised to see you, but you instead pushed past him and into the shop where you found Mrs. Satoshi holding an empty plant pot looking a mix of shocked and hurt but mostly confused. Very VERY confused. But she still smiled when you just walked in.
"Ah! Y/n dear. There you are. Right on time as usual."
"What happened?! What's going on?!" You looked around the shop. Nothing looked out of place and it looked the same as yesterday. "Did someone else disappear again?!"
"Oh no. Nothing like that." You sighed in relief. Thank goodness. "It just seems that Mrs. Henya is in a little tizzy."
You froze. Eyes going wide again. "...What?"
Mrs. Satoshi nodded. "Yes. It was rather strange. Apparently there was an accident that occured last night. According to her neighbor she dropped her lantern by accident when she was checking on her barn. What she was doing wondering out there in the middle of the night I have no idea." She turned to place the pot next to a few others. "But she stormed in here ranting about how we stole something from her."
Your body felt frozen like ice as you stared. Mrs. Henya?! Stolen property?! Barn?! "I-..I-I see. What exactly...was it?"
Your boss shrugged. "I haven't the faintest idea. She kept yelling how she knows we stole 'it' because we were the only ones near her property, but she wouldn't tell me what 'it' was that I supposedly stole. I kept asking her what 'it' was but she refuses to tell me. Only demanded that I give 'it' back to her. I swear I think that woman is riled up by the accident and just looking for trouble!"
You chuckled nervously subconsciously pulling your bandaged hand further into your large sleeve. Thanking the gods it was out of sight. You'd have to get rid of the bandage before anyone asked questions.  "Yeah. The stress is probably getting to her on top of the stress her family is dealing with with the funeral. I'm sure it's nothing."
Your boss agreed nodding with an annoyed huff. "It most certainly is! I absolutely did not, won't ever, and never before stolen anything."
"R-Right! Um...I'm gonna go organize and clean out the closet! A clean closet helps keep mice away!"
"That's a good idea. I wouldn't want mice chewing on my precious petals. That would ruin sales."
You smiled and turned away to start walking away towards the nearby closet where some of the extra stuff was kept. This was bad! This was really, really, REALLY bad!! Mrs. Henya knew that you broke into the barn and stole away the mermaids! She just didn't know that it was YOU who did it. She thinks your boss has something to do with it. Which was kinda good because she didn't know where to look for them so they were safe for now. But how long until she figured out that it wasn't really her!? Ok. Ok. Calm down, Y/n. There was no evidence pointing at you, and no one knew. You only were gonna host these three for another month and two weeks. Then you'd be rid of them.
You'd be rid of them. You wouldn't have anything to worry about. Your life would be completely back to normal. And no one would know and you could just pretend this never happened. All you had to do was act casual and not arose any suspicion. It was easy if you played your cards right. Everything would be fine. Everything would be ok. Nothing else was going to happen.
"......"
"Ok. So I know this looks...bad."
"....How did you manage to get my pie pan to stick to the ceiling using just soap?!" You stared at the ceiling just above the tub where your pie pans were somehow stuck on the ceiling. With a sticky stretchy sound one metal pan slowly peeled off the ceiling and all four of you watched it splash into the water. "...HOW did you even manage to reach up there?!"
"Well..We heard that humans wash their dishes using soap and put them up to dry!," Suma happily said as you just continued staring at the other two pie pans stuck to the ceiling dumbfounded. "And we wanted to help you after everything you did! And what higher up is there than the ceiling? They'll be dry in no time!"
SPLASH!! A second pie pan fell nearly missing Hinatsuru's shoulder and disappearing into the tub. ....Yep. This logic makes perfect sense to a mermaid. But now you had three pie pans to clean and soap to wipe off your ceiling. Sigh. This really was going to be a long stay wasn't it?
********
"Y/N'S HERE!! Y/N'S HERE!!"
Suma excited splashed about before waving a full arm at you bringing a mop and bucket behind you to start cleaning up the bathroom again. You learnt a few things during the past two weeks. Mermaids thrived better in a clean environment. It was better that you drain and rinse out the tub every two days before filling it back up. And they preferred meats over plants but they'll still eat the random fruits and vegetables you left them to eat. And apparently three mermaids ate A LOT. In just three weeks, your entire few months worth of stock in the pantry was almost entirely gone. You only maybe had enough to keep feeding them the giant portions and yourself for maybe a week tops. You weren't sure if all of the money you'd been saving up for the past few years would be enough to get you that many groceries for another whole month either.
Honestly things lately have been stressful to say the least. Mrs. Henya had become a borderline stalker to your boss! She'd be across the street for hours just standing there glaring for hours on end shouting things whenever Mrs. Satoshi left or came to the shop. Shouting slurs and curses and demands to her calling her a thief. You also had a suspicion that if it wasn't for Nico and Mr. Satoshi (who were both strong, big, and very intimidating looking) she'd be harassing them too and following her home. You felt really guilty for your extremely concerned and annoyed boss, but you were also glad it wasn't you. You didn't have anyone to help scars her away if she tried anything. Luckily it seemed no one really suspected you being too angry at the current harassment so as long as you kept your head down and played it cool then you should be home free.
It was the last weekend before the next month of May arrived and you were busy spring cleaning the house again after a morning shower. So far this room was the only one left to get done and Suma seemed rather excited to see you. And you were ready to go another round of taking care of them.
"Ok you three. Bath time again! I already brought you some clean clothes to change into."
"DID YOU GET IT?!" Your answer was to smile and use your foot to push in a large basket filled to the brim with fish. So full that some of them were threatening to fall off the tall pile they were in. "KYYYAAAA!! SO YUMMY!!" She practically drooled at the sight as the other two looked on in awe.
"This should last you three the entire day. Saves me one day of pantry food at least. You three go ahead and get that soap while I clean the floor. Then I can clean out the tub again." You smiled at how cute the three looked so in awe at just some tuna and catfish.
"There's so many fish." Hinatsuru blinked. "Where'd you get all of this?"
"A friend of mine works at the butcher shop down the road. He was going to just toss these out since they need to get rid of all the fish before it goes bad, so I just offered to take it off his hands. They're not bad but they're not fresh either. I hope that's ok." You continued to nudge it closer to them until it was in arm's reach of them.
"That's fine with us. It won't cause us any harm." Hinatsuru tilted her head at you in interesting as you just continued to start mopping the floors. "This.. friend of yours. Is he courting you?"
"Oh no. He's just an old friend from school. Besides he's already in a relationship with a very nice man who works in the trading post just outside of town." You waved her off as her interested face..grew in interest watching as you dunked the mop into the bucket.
"I see." Hinatsuru exchanged a similar look with the other two before they just descended on the large basket in front of them. "What about your family? This home is rather large but you seem to be the only human living here."
You paused for a second. "....I don't really have any family. So I'm really the only one living here."
Her brows rose in interest. "Really? No one?"
You shook your head a sad frown falling over your face. "My .. parents passed away when I was really little. I have a few cousins around town, but we aren't close at all and they're busy with their own lives. So it's just always kinda been just me around here..."
A sob got you to look over your shoulder and found the familiar sight of Suma tearing up in sobs again holding a catfish she already ate the head of of. "AAAAHHH!! THAT'S SO SAD BEING ALL ALONE FOR SO LOOOOONG!!"
You smiled as Makio rolled her eyes but didn't comment on it. "I know but sometimes life is like that, and it's not all bad. I have friends around town I see a lot, and most everyone around here is really friendly." You began pushing the mop across the cold tile floor.
"Oh...No husband though?"
You shook your head ignoring the interested looks and Suma's sobs. "Not yet. But who knows? Mr. Right might be around someday."
The cleaning up was easy. Waiting for them to crawl on out to lounge on towels that you'd clean later so you could drain and rinse the soapy water from the tub was also easy. By now you were used to the routine and treated it as just a part of the temporary new routine you were doing. Every once and a while you had them use your soap to clean up and temporarily gave them a few dresses while their own was washed and then given back to them. Due to the terrible state they were in, and their messy eating habits, you'd rather have them stay clean....Sigh. At this rate you'd run out of soap and shampoo too.
"Y/n." You paused in the middle of filling up the large tub to look at Makio. She was lying on her side as Hinatsuru was running her hands alongside her tail probably looking for more loose scales as Suma ran a hand along Hina's long ponytail plucking at it with her sharpened nails in place of a comb. Makio looked confused string at you head in her hand before her other hand pointed at her head. "Why are you wearing a towel on your head?"
"Huh? Oh this?" You pointed at your head to which she nodded at. "Had a shower before coming in here. I don't know about mermaids but humans prefer to stay dry."
"Oh. I forgot about that."
You didn't have time to walk past them after finishing up but that was stopped when you were once again grabbed and yanked down by Makio making you yelp out and landing with your back harmlessly falling onto Hinatsuru's tail. Man these three were really strong. Must be because they weren't human you guessed.
"Hey. Y'know you could accidentally hurt someone by doing that!"
You grumbled but only sighed as Suma instantly hugged you tightly smooshing her cheek into your arm and in a fluid motion the towel was yanked off your head. A moment later there was a curious noise and two hands were on your head and in your hair grabbing strands of hair and pulling them gently apart. You guessed that was Makio because Hinatsuru was the one who nudged Suma off of you to grab your hand to look at your nails..and then proceeded to grab a nearby nail file (one of the few objects they asked for). You'd seen them do this behavior to each other before so it must've been some kind of familiar behavior for them you supposed. ...Eh. They weren't hurting you so you'd let them be. It's not like you had work or anything to worry about today anywa-
"HERE!!"
You jumped. Blinked. And then leaned back as the eyes of an obviously dead catfish stared at you. Held up and thrusted at you by Suma.
"You look hungry. EAT!," She happily chirped with a huge happy smile on her face nudging the raw fish closer to you.
"Oh..I uh-... I mean thanks but IIIIIII already ate! Yeah!" You nodded making Makio stubbornly grab your shoulder in warning to hold still. "I had a HUGE breakfast before I began cleaning and I'm still full-" you quickly made an excuse smiling awkwardly. "-so polite pass."
"Aaaawwww....OK! Then you can take it for lunch!"
"Oh, I really-"
"HERE!!" With a flopping motion and a huge happy smile from Suma, the fish was plopped right into your lap. You stared at it as Suma smiled widely in adoration. "See?! We can take care of you too!"
...The fish flopped onto it's side as you just stared at it. So much for the clean dress. You looked back to Suma who looked proud of herself for 'feeding' you. "..Thanks, Suma. It..looks like a really juicy fish." You'd sneak it back into their food basket later.
She happily smiled before just turning to predictably dig through the the basket again and pulled out a particularly big bass making a few fish tumble out- CLINK!! Suma paused as something that wasn't a fish tumbled out from the basket and landed just onto the floor in front of her. The hard stones making a few sounds against the tiles floor as they stopped. She froze. Blue eyes going wide at the strand of silver shiny stones staring up at her- THUD!! You once against jumped as the large fish was dropped from her hand and flopped back onto the basket. You expected Suma to cry again for dropping the fish or maybe dog around in the basket more seeing a fish she liked better..but were surprised seeing her face. It looked like she'd seen a ghost from the frozen, side eyed stars she gave.
"Suma?," you questioned as she stared at the floor. "Suma, are you alright?"
She didn't answer. Didn't react. Didn't speak. That got Hinatsuru's attention as she also confusedly looked up from your hand followed by Makio who peeled over your shoulder. Suma still didn't react...Until her bottom lip trembled. The trembling slowly spread to the rest of her body as her arms reached out ever so slowly. Blue eyes welding up with tears like you've seen her do so many times before but this time it seemed more... serious. Stones gently cracked against one another as trembling hands took them in their embrace .
"..Suma? What is it?"
"T-T-....Te-Tengen.."

I'm genuinely disappointed about Ao3 turning off guest comments. It's a necessity at this point from how many spam bots/AI bots there are, and people who plain up harass authors, but it's so fucked up that it has to happen, and honestly so sad because some of my favorite comments EVER are from guest commenters. And I hate that me leaving my works unlocked potentially opens me up to getting my work copied by AI, or my comments spammed with fucking porn GIFs which was apparently a thing that was happening. It's just honestly sad that we can't even have one good thing anymore without AI and shitty people ruining it.

Just so you all realize and see it in action:
This fic was finished in 2015 and the author hadn't had a comment since 2016. They appreciated the comment even though it was just emoji hearts, they were happy and surprised to receive love on their older fic.
Don't stop commenting just because it's an old piece or because you think you can't come up with something smart, witty or thoughtful to say.
Just say anything. Just put an emoji. Just let them know you appreciate their work.

how would christmas be with the zoldycks?
In one word: awful.
I feel like Christmas with them is more about showing off that they’re the perfect, sophisticated family than having fun. I’m assuming in this situation you’re probably Illumi’s love interest and have been kind of forced to attend Christmas with his family.
Dinner is boring, they only talk about assassination work between long stretches of silence. The Christmas presents are extravagant, but there’s no heart or soul put into anything. It feels cold and empty.
Now, Christmas with just you and Illumi is a little different. I assume you’d spend Christmas Eve with his family and come home miserable, feeling all of your Christmas joy sucked out of you. Because of this, Illumi hesitantly asks you what your family would do for Christmas.
“Well usually, we make dinner together, chat while we eat, set out some cookies for Santa, then spend the rest of the evening watching Christmas movies.”
He nods, gently stroking your head as you talk. “Let’s do that then.”
After your early dinner at his family’s home, which you barely ate because of your fear Milluki may have poisoned your food, the two of you spent the evening making dinner, having fun.
On Christmas Day, you invited his younger siblings over to open presents. Killua and Alluka cling to you like you were an older sister, while Kalluto and Milluki kept their distance. Kalluto lightened up after eating pancakes for breakfast and getting to open his present, a new art kit.
Illumi enjoyed seeing you interact with his siblings, the idea of you being the perfect mother to his children only cementing in his mind. That Christmas was the first one in the Zoldyck family’s history to be filled with genuine love and happiness. They all loved you dearly, appreciating your motherly love.

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

Hi! I have a request if that's ok. What do you think a Yandere Kokushibo x Reader wedding would be like? Thank you and have a good day!
Yandere Husband! Kokushibo x Wife! Human Reader - Once Upon a Time
Warning: Yandere, Possessive actions, depression
Slight Summary: You felt foolish, you felt dumb, you felt betrayed, you felt lied to, and you can't do anything, but blame yourself for it.
I'm guessing the reader is a human, I'm so sorry if that's not what wanted! I hope this is to your liking!!
Tumblr media
The infinity castle was silent, as you and Kokushibo sat side by side on your own zabuton pillows, you could feel Kokushibo's ever-observant gaze on you and everyone else. His possessiveness over you made him almost beastly. You were both dressed in traditional wedding kimonos, along with everyone else who was dressed for the occasion. It was formal and quiet. You all listen to Muzan as he recites the wedding officiant.
Your head was held down, your thoughts wondering elsewhere, as you really didn't want to be married off, your demon lover, soon-to-be husband, Kokoshibo was a bastard that you had once upon a time loved with all your heart, but you now hated him. When you first met him, he was so kind, sweet, patient, loving, and shy, he was a monster, but he was the man you loved.
Once upon a time, feeling like a lifetime ago, you never thought you would get married, especially not to a demon of all creatures. You were a young girl, living your life according to traditions and your normal customs. You lived with your ever-loving parents, never having been married to a man, you were to stay home, as women couldn't own one alone, she'd have to become a widow for such a thing to happen. Not far from your home, was a field of flowers, where you'd frolicked, danced, and picked flowers when you were feeling trapped or depressed. It was that very field, on a cloudless night with a full moon acting as your only source of light, where you first met him.
You usually didn't venture out at night, but you desperately wanted to clear your mind from your rare nightly thoughts. Loneliness and depression always seem to show their ugly head at such a time. Moving stealthily through the home, you exited with little to no trouble, and you ran for the field. The moon was your only source of light on a cloudless night, sitting on your hip in the soft grass where you gently picked the flowers. A small smile on your face as your depressive thoughts weren't smothering you anymore.
You weren't sure why, but you just happened to look up, and there you saw him. Standing in the distance, stiff like a statue. You grew frightened, as you were alone at night, and a stray man stood in the distance, just seemingly staring at you. You quickly move to stand up, a worried look on your face as you stare at him. You stood there a little longer, debating on whether you should call out to him or not, but you chose not to, running back to the safety of your parent's home. After that, you didn't venture out to the field at night for a while, for it had spooked you.
However, once more, your loneliness and depression made a nightly appearance 3 months later, you rolled in your bed, your troubling thoughts keeping you from sleeping. You looked towards the wooden bared window in your room, seeing the full moon on a cloudless night once more. The images of the man flashed before your thoughts and fear gripped your throat, as it was on a night like this when you first saw him. Your fear won, and you forced yourself to sleep through your sad tears.
The night grew long after that, as your depression grew and weighed on you, your desperation for a peace of mind outweighed your fears, and you decided to sneak out of your home and out to the field once more. You were more cautious of your surroundings this time, as you sat on the balls of your feet, prepared to jump up and run if needed, but the man was nowhere in sight. You grew relaxed and you were once more seated on your hip. You never saw the man that night, and many more nights after that, so you brushed it off as a one-time thing, a coincidence.
Came the next few months, and you were once more faced with your depressive thoughts, you didn't hesitate to make your way out to the field, the moon, once again your only source of light. Once to the field, you raced and frolicked around for a bit, and you smiled happily as you found a spot with the most flowers, there you sat on your hip and quickly got lost in your musing. You began humming a light tune to yourself, your small voice slowly forming words as your humming turned to singing. "Your voice.. is beautiful." Came a deep, older male's voice.
It was so close, your hair stood on end, your eyes wide in fear as you froze in what you were doing. You blinked and released a shaky sigh in anticipation as you slowly looked around yourself, you saw nothing and you wrote it off as your imagination. Your hand reached up to hold your chest, your heart beating rapidly in its caged prison. "I must be sleepy, I'm hearing voices." You said softly to yourself as you thought over what you believed to be a hallucinated voice.
"I assure you.. I am real." Came his voice once more, but closer, too close. Your head whipped around as you looked behind yourself, your eyes shifting frantically as fearful tears gathered in your eyes. "Wh-wh--whoo-oes... Whoes there?" You stuttered out. "For.. I am"He said once more, you looked back forward with a whip of your head, and your heart practically stopped beating. Your vision became that of tunnel vision, your flight or fight reflexes activating rapidly.
You felt faint as your mind tried to process what you were staring at. His six eyes stared deeply into yours, almost as if he were searching for something. Your brain felt as though it were shutting down from the fear itself, for you were looking at a monster, and you just knew that you were to die. Your eyes lost focus as they became dull with unconsciousness and they rolled into the back of your head as your body went limp.
Your world went dark, and then you awoken, in the safety of your room, your covers over your body. You lay there, numb for a moment, as your brain processes your memory. 'Did I truly see that?... Did I truly see a monster?' You thought, your inner monologing voice just as numb as your body. Your eyes slowly drifted back close, as your brain was far too tired to stay awake, having just experienced a sense of life or death in such a rapid fashion.
Your world wasn't the same after that, your thoughts constantly wondering to that night, his six eyes were the only thing you remember seeing, the red sclera of his eye, the yellow iris that gazed back at you, the kanji in his eyes... it was all you could think about... you felt crazy because instead of avoiding the night, you made it a point to venture out more often, hoping to see him once more.
It was a long while before you did, but you never lost hope that he wouldn't show up, and your hope proved to be fruitful as he eventually made his appearance. This time, you were able to get a better look at him. He was tall, powerful, disciplined, stoic, monstrous, and handsome. You were fearful and weary of him, but your curiosity was able to surpass the feeling. He proved to be sweet.
He was kind, patient, and stoic. He held a form of grace about himself that you couldn't help but admire. It became a nightly routine for you both to meet up in the field, you talked and you laughed. You no longer came to the field out of sadness, it was now out of joy. Over time, you grew comfortable with him, you'd make him a couple of flower crowns, and he tried to make you some in return, although his pride was strong and he wouldn't ever allow you to watch him struggle with the delicate plant. It was cute. Your curiosity for him grew and eventually, it bloomed into love. He was a creature of the night, and you were a soul of the day, but your love couldn't have been more right.
When you left to be with Kokushibo, you never told your parents, you wrote them a note, telling them how much you appreciated them and how much you'll miss them and that you promised to visit. You felt guilty for doing such a thing, but you couldn't allow this opportunity to pass you. So you left with him one night, never looking back as you did.
Off on your own with him, you both traveled for miles, days, months, and years. Wandering all over Japan, watching as he'd fight to protect you from his pursuers, he'd leave you to your lonesome on some occasions, going to a nearby village, only to return with a gift for you. You were happily traveling with Kokushibo, but you were ready for a home, gone was the young girl, and in her place was a young woman, and Kokushibo knew it. So, he got you both a lovely little home deep in the woods.
It was a decent-sized home, and you loved it. He'd leave you there on your own, leaving you to your duties as an unmarried wife. You were able to make a few friends with the travelers and their wives, and you were always so happy when they'd make time in their busy schedules to come and see you. He'd come home every few months, checking in on you and allowing you to wash his clothes, and to accompany him in a soothing bath.
You enjoyed pampering him, and he seemed to enjoy it just as much. The years passed, and you bloomed into a wonderful young woman, with a sense of pride, self-respect, and discipline. He felt that you were ready for marriage, and you were pleased to hear it. You've been ready to marry him for a while, wanting to be his for life and he yours.
You'd both live happy lives forever, and you were so ready for it... but that's when everything went wrong. His sweetness turned to bitterness, his kindness turned to rudeness, his patience turned to urgency, and his love turned to possession. He wasn't the man you loved anymore, he wouldn't allow you to leave your home, he'd sometimes keep you locked in one room for days, he wouldn't allow the small group of friends you've obtained to come over anymore, he kept you close, an eye always on your every little movement.
You tried, on several occasions to run away, once your pipedream was shattered that he wasn't going to ever revert back, but he'd always catch you before you could get too far. On a good day, he'd cuddle with you, his cold hugs were comforting, but his words of possession and promise of punishment didn't match his actions. Then, your freedom was completely stripped from you, when you and he were brought to the infinity castle.
There you learned the ugly truth, that the man you loved so deeply really was a monster, he killed and ate your parents, your friends, any other humans who you even shared a smile with on your travels together, he was a demon, a heartless monster.
Once upon a time, he was lovely, he was revered as cool, now he was cruel and you were a fool. You felt so alone, the infinity castle was so big, empty, cold, and devoid of any life. Kept in a room that resembled a small home, the only good thing from any of this was the fact that he'd come and go more often, but it wasn't the same, and it never will be.
The sound of cheering brought you back to the present from your thoughts of the past, from the life you so foolishly threw away. You looked around, the upper moons all having smiles on their faces as they threw rice at you and Kokushibo. Your wedding was complete, and your life was sealed. If you've learned anything from your time in this twisting, turning adventure, it was to act. A smile graced your red-painted lips, your hand intertwining with Kokushibo's as you felt your heartbreak, as your fate was sealed forever.
This was your life now, this was your new beginning.
Once upon a time, a young girl dreamed of falling in love and getting married, she lived in her parents' house still, as young women weren't allowed to own one themselves unless they were widows.
Once upon a time, there was a naive young girl, living in a fantasy land, she never realized it, but she had it all.
Once upon a time, you were that very girl, you were free.

Ocean Deep Ch5 Sneak Peak
"NO! NO! NO!"

OMG I love this!
HI i just read the latest chapter of your Kokushibo fanfic and omg!! IT WAS SO GOOD!! Akaza’s beef with Kaiguku had me laughing sooo much hahaha but omg you had me like this 👀 when Reader held Akaza’s wrist…please tell me they end up together because now i totally ship them 😭 i have no idea how they would even end up together but whenever he is worrying about her im going crazy LMAO
The blonde girl who was eavesdropping on Shinobu and the group was a shrine maiden that Reader knew right? I think i remember her when Reader first fought with Kokushibo so I’m very intrigued. Also, my guess is that the person Gyomei will send is Reader’s brother! 🤭
I’m currently in the midst of my exams and assignments, so i read this a little late but thank you again for writing this amazing fanfic like literally you are the person who made me a Kokushibo fan (we need another appearance from him hehe) Have a good day💓
EEEEE THANK UUUUUU!!! Im happy u enjoyed the latest chapter and TRUST ME i just got out of a geography exam so i understand 😭
AND YEAH UR RIGHT, Blonde girl is the shrine maiden and will be explained in the next chapter :) cant wait to write it and explain it then lol. Kaigaku really is like a chihuahua tryna fight with a bigger dog LMAO-
ANDDDDD I LOVE THE SHIP CONCEPT. Cant really say who or if reader will end up with anyone but it gave me proper chance to use this ship dynamic----
