I was rewatching the Jewel of the North, cuz why not, and the scene where Moses and Patrick try to arrest Jack Fenton came up. I had forgotten just how hilarious this scene truly is😂 so I’ve decided to put a couple of my favorite things about this scene:
“Isn’t that why I pay you?”
*takes deep breath and downs his glass*
“Well, as it happens, I used to box for County Wicklow”
*insert confused Moses face*
*casually taps Fenton’s shoulder with his cane* *scene snaps to him being yeeted onto the ground*
*insert pained grunt*
*insert Patrick breaking his cane*
And after all of that he says, “I really liked than cane☹️” *disappointed sigh*
we, as a fandom, don't talk enough about the fact that hannibal is an absolute boss for sitting there prettily and letting the two people he's enthusiastically fucking have a catfight about getting railed by him at dinner in naka-choko. like, you go girl.
Ok there are so many things that I love about this small scene
1 - I love that Mario is jumping around like a madman like woo look at em go !!
2 - This scene really emulates the feeling of playing a Mario game with someone who is slow/new to the game (Mario being player 1 and Luigi being player 2)
3 - Luigi on his tippy toes when he walks on the cement 🥺
4 - the fact that the construction area is supposed to be 1-1 like that is so cool !! Also Castle Burger is supposed to look like the castle at the end of the level thats so cool.
Speaking of paintings, I always imagined Machete's assassination (or, how they found him) to be something like The Death of Marat (amazing painting and last year I even got to see it in person.)
(The Death of Marat by Jacques-Louis David, 1793)
Really cool that you got to see it in person!
For some reason Machete gets compared to this painting quite often, especially if there's a bath involved. Even if he's just. Chilling in the tub, very much not dead.
