Note
So I’ve been bouncing around the thought of why they might both be reluctant to get together outside of ruining the friendship, and something clicked. I want to say this could be totally off base and not be something you intended but I figured I’d share anyways.
I have a few friends who had bad parents, and as adult carry the fear that they will turn out like them. One doesn’t drink because her mom was an alcoholic, one worried about how well he could be as a dad because his was verbally abusive, etc.
I think it’s realistic to wonder whether either of them carry similar fears. Obviously just because your parent(s) suck doesn’t mean you will, but it’s a common thought.
They both have at least verbally abusive dads. Likely skirting the line of physical. Both had parents who got divorced and weren’t the best at raising them. I think at least some fear of commitment and ending up divorced is there for both of them.
But I think it’s quite possible that max could at least slightly worry that he could end up like his dad, even to a lesser extent. He had the nickname Mad Max for a reason and while that was obviously linked to his competitiveness and drive to win, it did spawn the whole Esteban shoving match. And when you contextualize it with his childhood it probably would be hard to have people point out anger issues like that and drawn connections to his dads.
I highly doubt Y/N has any concerns about him ever becoming verbally abusive but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t worry about his own temper and controlling it appropriately. Or that either of them worries the other person would fuck up. I think it’s heavily fear that they themselves will be the problem.
Not to mention they both may want children in the future and could worry that they wouldn’t be a good enough parent (because they didn’t have great examples) and could let the other person down. I have multiple friends with that fear too.
It’s very obviously not a black and white thing the way some readers seem to be interpreting it, likely because they don’t have personal (or secondary) experience with how a less than ideal childhood effects a person. Which is why I don’t fault either of them for failing to make a move. It’s a massive boundary to cross and not as simple as just admitting you love the other person. Sometimes you love people so much that you chose to protect them from yourself (even if you don’t need to)
Oh definitely. You hit one of the nails on the head.
Imma just point in our because fuck subtext lol you’ve explained this so well you’ve inspired me to talk about it.
Those two have both seen first hand how toxic their DNA can be (shout-out DNA by Lia Marie Johnson). We have Mad Max, who thinks, I don’t want to be gone like my dad was all the time, I don’t want to be angry like my dad, be a husband and a father like him. And we have Y/N, who, as we have seen, has a touch of her dad in her, too. The way she went for Mick’s throat in their argument is the same way her dad went for Max’s Achilles heel in the bonus part (“you’re just like your father”). I don’t think either of them ever think they would turn their tempers on each other, but no one thinks that at the beginning, do they?
On top of that, both of them had to watch their mothers struggle being married to men like that. Y/N said to her mother she’d rather have nothing than a relationship like the one she witnessed and I think she really means that. The same way Max doesn’t want to be a husband like his dad, Y/N wouldn’t want to be a wife to a man like hers. That runs deep for both of them.
And that’s with anyone. Add to that the possibility of that being how they lose each other ? How can it possibly seem worth it to them? How would one of them sit down and say, I know we’ve both seen seen some bad shit, I know we have a great thing going, but do you want to risk all that and bang me? Even if they thought the other would say yes, I can see why they’d hesitate.
It may be a cliche to have witnessed bad relationships and be wary about new ones but it’s a cliche because it’s true. Even if you have been able to come out the other side of it like they both have and have relationships with both your parents, it never stops being true that your first example of love was something that is temporary, and that most of the time just hurts. They’ve found a way to love each other in a way that doesn’t hurt, that’s significant for both of them. They can’t be blamed for wanting to hold onto that.
This has made me emotional for no good reason.

Bits & Pieces, Themes & Evidence
Morning Everyone! So, below are just a bunch of bits and pieces that me, my fellow theorists and/or others in the fandom have come up. They don’t really fit into one, cohesive theory, but they’re most about or have come out of 10x18. I keep joking that this is the episode that just keeps on giving. We’re STILL talking about it and figuring things out about it.
Leah as a Hallucination/Daryl’s PTSD:
It’s been suggested that in 10x18, Dog never actually left Daryl. The episode is cut in a way to suggest that Daryl went long periods without seeing Dog (which is symbolic, of course) but maybe that’s not true and Dog was always there. Not only is that super interesting, but it works with one of my first observations. When I first watched the episode, I thought that the second time he sees Dog, first time as a grown dog and not a pup, and meets Leah, he didn't seem surprised to see Dog. So, I thought maybe he'd seen Dog a lot by then. I changed my mind for the sake of the symbolism. If it represents Grady, it makes more sense that Daryl simply recognized him as the pup me once met, but really had been separated from his for awhile. But I’m just saying this hallucination theory and the idea of Dog being there all along, just backs up my first impressions. That's all.
Tumblr media
Also, weapon13whitefang left a long comment on my Tumblr post about Leah being a hallucination. It's really not so much about the show as about PTSD because they have some experience with it. I found it really interesting and enlightening, so it might interest some of you. You can read it HERE under the comments.
Why He Got Defensive at the Idea of Leah Leaving Him
A couple of my friends were talking about this, and this is just my contribution to the conversation. I think it's directly because Leah is predicated on his time with Beth. Even if he's not consciously aware of the delusion, some part of his UNconscious brain knows that Leah = Beth. And he knows Beth wouldn't have willingly left him. Not only because she said that, but because when she DID disappear, it wasn't her fault or her choice either time. So, when Carol says, "maybe she just left," Daryl's brain rails against that and he gets really defensive. And the interesting thing is that it's really not about him taking it personally or about his ego. It's about what he knows to be true of Beth. It's actually his brain being really logical in the midst of the delusion.
The Talk Dead to Me Podcast with Lynn Collins
I listened to the Talk Dead to me Podcast and this week’s guest was—no surprise—Lynn Collins. No huge TD smoking guns or anything, but it was interesting nonetheless. First of all, one of the really big C@ryl accounts was pretty much called out for being a toxic troll.
Tumblr media
For anyone who doesn’t know, Lynn Collins gave a different interview a few days back (not this podcast; just a different one) in which she mentioned that Daryl and Carol’s relationship is very mother/son. Just after that, I won’t say the name but one of the most well known C@ryl accounts who can be REALLY nasty to…well…I was gonna say other shippers but pretty much anyone in the fandom who dares disagree with her, called Lynn an ageist for saying that Carol was mothering Daryl.
So, when the podcast began, Johnny O’Dell, who is the host, said that most TWD fans are super cool but a lot of the shippers can be toxic. He doesn't mention any particular ships in accordance to that (I actually think he briefly mentions all of them, saying people ship Daryl with Carol, Beth, Connie, and Rosita the most) but then after saying SOME of the shippers can be toxic, he talked about the post she made calling Lynn Collins ageist and said that was ridiculous and toxic and that we need to be cool to the actors. So, it's very obvious it was her comment he was talking about.
And of course, the ageist thing she accused Lynn Collins of is ridiculous. Not only is it true that Carol and Daryl’s relationship can be very mother/son at times, but saying so is not an insult to Carol. It’s a comment on the nature of the relationship, not on anyone’s actual age. Of course Carol isn’t old enough to be Daryl’s mom. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t mother him.
Then when Lynn Collins came onto the podcast, she addressed the ageist comment. She basically said everything I said above in more detail. She talked about how she was taken aback by being called that because, being a woman over 40 in Hollywood, she actually deals with a lot of ageism. And about how she's a mother, but became one a little later in life (in her thirties, rather than her twenties) and she was shocked that being called a mother can actually be derogatory to some people. It REALLY shouldn’t be. It’s really sad that people would take that as an insult. And then she went on to say that any character can be maternal, even if they're not the biological mother of the person they're mothering. She even said Daryl is somewhat paternal to Carol, teaching her how to gut a fish and everything.
Now, maybe this is neither here nor there when it comes to TD stuff. But one thing I thought was really interesting was that Lynn Collins said when she first started watching the show in S2 or S3, she was actually a Caryler. She wanted them together originally. She also said that eventually she realized that's not where they were going with it and kind of moved on.
But the thing is, it just proves to me even more that she's being told to talk about it in a particular way. If everything she's said is true: that she was a raging fan and has been in the tags and talking about it a ton (and she says that on the podcast again; that she would get really excited about it and watch with friends and they would tell her to chill, lol) then why on earth would you talk about Daryl and Carol as a mother/son relationship...unless you were instructed to.
She knows how passionate and sometimes toxic the Caryl ship is because she used to be one of them. So that just drove home for me that this isn't something she would just come up with on her own. And I did like what she said and how she said it. I honestly think she's trying to help the Carylers feel better about things, but also let them down gently. And of course there are some hardcore Carylers, like that account that said the ageist thing, that are just never going to give it up. Not much anyone can do about that.
The only other thing that struck me about the podcast, and also brought to mind stuff said on TTD, is that I'm more and more sure that everyone knows what's up with Leah's character. If she's an illusion (and I'll assume she is until we know different) I think everyone knows that. I think Lynn knows it, Norman, Melissa, all of them.
For one thing, she said in this podcast that she didn't know if or when she'd be back. That was kind of a slip of the tongue, I think, because we already know she's signed on for S11, and she's announced it. And they're filming. So that's just untrue. And I thought that about Melissa on TTD, too. She said she didn't know what the Leah story line would be, they only told her a little bit back in Bonds when she had to say "her dog." But Melissa is a long time, mainstream cast member. I just don't believe that she doesn't know where the story is going. Again, just something they're instructed to say. But something else occurred to me, too.
Tumblr media
When Melissa talked about the "her dog" line on TTD, she said, "there was a line that became a thing." From that, I have to assume she meant that people started to obsess about it online and wonder what the "her" was about. I honestly don't know if anyone other than TD picked out that line, but they might have. Either way, between this, and their reaction to the Caryler's "ageist" comment, it proves that they read the online theories. And of course we all already know that, but there's proof. That ageist comment was posted like 24 hours ago. And already they're addressing it and obviously don't like it and don't want people thinking the show or its actors are associated with that sort of thing.
Which is exactly why I think they HAVE to know about our Leah-is-a-hallucination theory. Even others outside our fandom suspect it. But the writers aren't addressing that. And don't get me wrong: I don't think they will. The Bonds line was literally MONTHS ago, and they waited until the Leah episode to address it. Because otherwise, they'd have to give spoilers and they weren't going to do that. But my point is, if the hallucination theory was not a thing (kind of like Rick being on TWB was not a thing and Lynn Collins being an ageist is not a thing and Beth not being BBQed at Terminus was not a thing) they would be addressing and discrediting it. They aren't. I’m definitely side-eyeing that.
Daryl’s Search for Rick/Beth’s Search for Liquor
This is something my fellow theorists and I were discussing back and forth for a few days. I’m not going to give you the entire conversation, but someone said something about Beth searching for liquor in Still and couldn’t that be a foreshadow? See—you’ll probably hear more about this in coming weeks—but we’ve been rewatching old episodes like Still, Alone, and others, with an eye toward what we’ve learned from S10 and especially the bonus episodes. And we’re realizing there’s a lot more foreshadowing in them than we ever realized before. Most of what’s in them we’ve looked at in terms of the Bethyl romance and of course Beth’s return, but I for one have never thought to go beyond that. Yeah, I REALLY should have.
So here’s the thing. We always talk about Daryl searching for people, but Beth was searching for liquor in that episode. I've never really thought to connect those two things. It either represents the same template of Daryl's search for her, or it might represent her searching for him. But then, those two templates may be one and the same. I need to think on it more and make more connections.
Tumblr media
One thing it did make me think of, though, is that there's a theme about not accepting the first and only thing that comes your way, because there's something bigger, better, happier, more fulfilling down the road. So, Daryl didn't want Beth to drink the peach schnapps because that's a weak drink. He wanted her to have a REAL drink. And of course we've talked about this theme in terms of the peach schnapps before.
But we kind of see it everywhere, including in relationships. The small, short term relationships all follow this pattern. Maybe it’s not a terrible relationship, but it’s not true love, either. So they need to move on from it and find the more perfect relationship for them. The locations or homes do, too. So, in 4b, we saw each of the groups stop somewhere and try to stay. And it wasn't so much that they chose not to. More often than not, circumstances forced them to leave. But still. The theme is that it was better that they moved on so a bigger reunion could take place.
And on that note, Leah really still does fit the short-term relationship pattern. If the point was to always show short term relationships that weren't ideal and something better coming down the road, that's why they wanted to do something like this for Daryl. Beth is obviously going to be the much better, more fitting, more fulfilling relationship, where he belongs, etc. But I think they knew they couldn't do that without doing a disservice to Daryl's character. The only way to satisfy both criteria was to make her a hallucination. So the pattern is still there, but for him, it's not a real or literal relationship.
Find Me Theme
So, @wdway is the one who reminded me of this. Back in 9x05, Rick gets hurt and starts hallucinating right before blowing up the bridge and being taken to the CRM by Jadis, right? All on the same page? Well, in that episode, there’s a huge theme about Rick finding his family. In every hallucination, he tells the people he sees—Shane, Hershel, etc—that he’s looking for his family and needs to find them. Near the end, he hallucinates Michonne and the others being with him on the bridge, and Michonne tells him that they’re his family and he did find them. Then, just before he shoots the dynamite, he says, “I found them.”
Tumblr media
And now we have this episode called “Find Me” where Daryl is obsessively searching for Rick, and there’s a ridiculous amount of Beth symbolism thrown in. Are we seeing the over-arching theme?
So, what does this mean? I don’t think I’ve really pinned it all down, yet. But I do think this is an over-arching theme for the entire show. I think in some ways, “home” and “family” are synonymous, because home is wherever your family is. It’s not a physical location.
But we started out with Rick looking for Carl and Lori. Then Merle went missing, and Daryl searched for him. Everyone searched for Sophia when she disappeared. And the list goes on and on. So it’s a big theme. I’ve always said Andy didn’t leave the show just to spend more time with his family. That’s a happy bonus, I’m sure. But this was always a planned part of the story. Now Michonne is actively looking for Rick, we see Daryl searching for his body. And the reason Beth symbolism is thrown in is because he searched for her, but they didn’t show us that and won’t because it would be spoilery. And Beth is alive, even if Daryl doesn’t know it. And yeah, I could go on and on. Just wanted to point out this theme and how important it is. Which leads me to….
The Three Spikes
The last thing I’ll mention is the grouping of the three spikes he sees both by the door and on the outside of the house that we’ve all been trying to interpret. I kind of had a breakthrough the other night. But the thing is, it’s not just a breakthrough on the three spikes.
Tumblr media
It’s kind of a breakthrough on the ENTIRE rule of threes theme. It’s actually kind of epic.
So here’s how I came to this. I was going over the template in my head, yet again, that I mentioned is shown both here, in 6x03, and that will be in the spinoff. So let’s run through it. We’ll use this episode, 10x18, as the example. So, Daryl is searching for Rick, right? And Carol wants him to stop and come back with her to where Zeke and Henry are. Those are two possible choices for him. But there’s also a third: staying with Leah.
Similarly, in 6x03, Daryl goes searching for Rick, rather than staying with Sasha and Abraham. Those are the two things he’s trying to decide between, and he eventually goes back to Sashraham.
Tumblr media
Now, there is actually a third choice there. It’s just that Daryl doesn’t seriously consider it. The third choice is going back to Alexandria to help them. And this IS addressed in the episode because they talk about how they don’t know what happened, but some loud noise pulled half the herd off the road. We, the viewers, know it’s the Wolves, but Daryl, Sasha, and Abe really didn’t know what was going on there. And who is back in Alexandria, spear-heading the defensive against the wolves? Carol!
So you see what I mean. There are three possible choices there: find Rick, go with Carol, or stay with Sashraham. And I’ve said forever that Sashraham = Beth/Bethyl. And of course so does Leah. So the third choice is always the one that represents Beth.
Do you see where I’m going with this? If not, I’ll just tell you. This represents three different paths for Daryl. They’ll diverge at some point and he’ll have to make a choice about which one to take. And then I realized—duh!—they’re all actually represented for us here in this episode. Not only because of what I said above, but because Leah lays them out in her ultimatum. Where do you belong 1) out looking endlessly for your brother 2) back at the communities with your family (i.e. Carol) or 3) here with me.
So those are the three paths that he’ll have to choose between during the spinoff. That’s what the spikes are about, because they specifically dealt with his three choices in this episode. But that may even be the reason they used the rule of threes around Beth to begin with. She’s the third and correct path.
Want more proof this is a thing? @wdway sent me this pic after I first told her about it:
Tumblr media
And guys, go back and watch this. When he gets to the crossroads, the camera pans around him, showing him being unsure about which path to take.
Then, while writing this up, I remembered that this did this in 6x03 as well:
Tumblr media
On the left is Daryl on his bike, rejoining Sasha and Abraham who are coming down from the top.
Yeah, 3 paths. 3 spikes. Rule of 3s. Who’s excited for the spinoff? 🙋
Now, just one more thing not add to this I think you all will like. In re-watching 9x05, there’s the part where Rick hallucinates Shane, right? Well, part of their conversation there is about the “third man.” And I’ve talked about this before, but probably not nearly enough, because it’s more important than most of us give it credit for. Rick and Shane talk about when Rick was shot in 1x01 before the apocalypse hit. They say they thought there was only 2 men, but there was a third they didn’t know about and “that changed everything.”
Tumblr media
I always saw that as perhaps a statement about Grady. Because they should have had three prisoners for the hostage exchange, where Dawn only had two (Carol and Beth). But after Rick killed Lambson, they only had two. If they’d had three, Dawn wouldn’t have been able to demand Noah back, because it would have been an even exchange. So the third man would have changed everything.
Another way to think about it is that, if the shot that hit Beth didn’t come from Dawn—and it REALLY didn’t, y’all) then there was another threat somewhere that they couldn’t see and didn’t know about. If they had, they might have been able to guard against it. See what I mean? I genuinely believe they used Rick’s arc in 1x01 as a jumping off point for planning what happened at Grady.
So, when I rewatched 9x05 and heard this conversation between Rick and Shane yet again, it made me think of the three spikes and Daryl’s 3 paths. So what if he only knows about the two paths he can take: look for Rick or go with Carol. But there’s a third path he’s not aware of, yet. But the third path changes everything. Because that’s where/how he’ll find Beth.
Eh, eh?
Okay, well, I’ve given you enough to chew on today. These are just some things we’ve been discussing from the episode that just keeps on giving. ;D Meanwhile, episode 19 will be airing in a few days, and it will be fabulous, too. Probably not quite as epic as 10x18, but still fabulous. ;D Thoughts?

Come Collect Your Trash, Scott McCall Defense Squad
https://scintalla.tumblr.com/post/650969366685515776/some-tw-positivity
@scintalla:
Okay, I know my previous posts were all focused on negative aspects of Teen Wolf and its fandom (which were all TRUE!) and I don’t regret them but to remind myself why I begun to like the show in the first place, here are some of my favorite things on Teen Wolf. Once again, this is my personal opinion and not an attack on anybody individually.
1) Will I ever stop stanning Scott McCall? Never. He is one of the best male protagonists I’ve EVER seen in a teen show; I said what I said. In an era of Damon Salvatore, Chuck Bass who ruled the tv while their problematic actions were ignored by the fandoms; we got Scott McCall who has zero per cent toxic masculinity in him. He is a bi-racial teen who not only lives with his single mother, but respects her and emulates many of her traits like compassion and a sense of adventure. He starts out as a typical, somewhat immature teen who is thrust in a world he never knew existed and becomes a leader and a true alpha. I’m so glad I got to be part of such a kind, empathetic, heroic character’s journey. Yes, he’s made mistakes, yes he’s not perfect, but in the end he overcomes all of his ordeals, saves everyone and proves exactly why he is THE true alpha. I could go and on about why I love Scott so much, but I think for now it’s enough. (Also, anti-Scott people DO NOT interact with me or try and fill my inbox with your unsolicited opinions, just like I don’t engage with you people. Like if you hate Scott (I can’t genuinely think why), it’s your choice.)
2) Teen Wolf has the most ICONIC comedic lines. I don’t need to elaborate on why everyone loves the show’s humor. Lines like ‘My mom does all the grocery shopping’, ‘You’re not gay. I could be!’, 'You’re the hot girl’, 'I’m worth five dollars?!’ etc.. will always live rent free in every TW fan’s minds.
3) This show is every multishipper’s dream come true. Everyone has chemistry with everyone. Like if I don’t like a ship, it wouldn’t be because the characters didn’t have chemistry. It helps that the cast irl are such great friends.
4) The friendship of Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski. Ik, season 5 sort of ruined their dynamic and a part of me still dislikes Stiles for his assholish behavior towards Scott (again, I’m not anti Stiles just because I called him out on his jerkish behavior) but still it is one of the best relationships in TW. Their adventures, their bickering, them always sticking together, I loved it all. And obviously, Motel California remains on my all time favorite episodes because of how strong their bond is.
5) The friendship of Scott and Lydia. Okay, I know they’re sort of underrated but I love their dynamic. Like Lydia literally went from 'I don’t know him’ to 'Not all monsters do monstrous things. Like Scott.’ They were both abused by Peter (he non-consensually bit them both, so yes ABUSED!), they both have great character arcs. Bonus, there is never any storyline where Allison (albeit, after confronting Lydia for kissing Scott during full moon, which was fair enough), Kira or even Malia doubt if the scydia friendship is 'anything more’ because their friendship and dynamic in general is just pure and wholesome and you know they’d do anything for each other.
6) Melissa’s iconic 'Be your own anchor’ speech. It is so inspirational and is for every teenager out there. This is for anyone who’s undergone a breakup, have unrequited feelings for someone, or are afraid that they’re going to end up alone. I love this speech and it should be talked about more, dammnit!
7) The music. Enough said.
8) The acting. Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Arden Cho, Dylan Sprayberry,Daniel Sharman, Ian Bohen, etc.. everyone gave their 100 percent to their characters and it totally shows.
9) The ending. It was great, positive and reinforced that it is Scott’s journey, the importance of friendship, everyone’s ship even though not endgame, got some screen time and just perfect, somehow.
10) The agency given to female characters. Like, I’m still sort of pissed of about Kira’s departure, but you gotta hand it to the show for its multi dimensional portrayal of female characters. Almost all of its episodes pass the Bechdel Test, the female characters don’t have to give up their kindness and sweetness in order to be 'strong’ (a.k.a the idea perpetuated by our toxic patriarchal society that 'strong’ people are cold hearted, unkind and it is used to excuse assholes); they’re already badasses and they are assets, rather than burdens to the pack. Each one is unique in their own way and a breath of fresh air from Elena Gilberts (who are defined by their romantic storylines) or Bonnie Bennets (perpetually ignored and mistreated and only there to progress the white men and women’s storylines while her own are put on the backburner). Bonus, there are zero scenes where they 'fight’ or 'compete’ for men. There aren’t any stupid, unnecessary love triangles.
11) The show is addictive. Even if TW has its plot holes and unexplained story lines. It is written so well that you can’t help but binge watch the hell out of this show.
Feel free to add reasons as to why you like the show that I’ve somehow missed.
//
@scintalla Okay, but… what’s the point of posting your delusional anti Stiles pro Scott garbage in the Stiles Stilinski, Derek Hale and Sterek tags? No one gives a shit about your shitty personal fav Scott McCall/Tyler Posey here

Chapter 249 Thoughts
This is my favourite chapter since forever. It was tense, suspenseful, tragic, funny, awkward, uplifting - just the whole range of emotions - what a great ride from start to finish. It’s meaty character stuff for everyone too and gorgeous, amazing, breathtaking art.
1. Endeavor’s dream...
...of a happy family where he has no place in. Guilt? Foreshadowing? Death flag? Poetic justice?  Can his family heal if he’s around? Does he have any right to be there anymore? That’s some deep stuff. And I really despise Endeavor for what he did in the past, yet I still feel for his struggle to do better - and that’s a redemption arc done well.
Tumblr media
2. Wonder Trio
They are roommates!!!
We also get a delicious glance of their morning personalities. (And yet again, I’m Bakugou). Todoroki is the residential motivational speaker.
Tumblr media
They still didn’t surpass Endeavor. No surprise there, but I think there will be a “faster than you” moment before the end of this arc.
3. The dinner invitation
I can’t believe that Bakugou and Midoriya so naively walk into this particular trap. I love the running gag of Bakugou furiously denying being friends with Shouto.
Tumblr media
Can’t wait for him to eat those words and call Todoroki a “friend” some point down the line. It will happen.
But even he calms down when he meets the force of nature that is Fuyumi (I adore her in this chapter!!!!)
4. The awkward dinner
The Deku / Kacchan reactions during the dinner are absolutely gold.
I love Deku’s coping mechanism is to deliver a mutter-analysis of the fried chicken, while Bakugou tries to inhale enough spicy food to numb his brain.
Tumblr media
(Midoriya is absolutely flawless in this chapter. From his initial freak-out / sunshine boy, to his crazy muttering, his earnest intervention, his interactions with Kacchan - he was written on point in this chapter).
Fuyumi sneakily left soba noodles off the menu. It’s a brilliant preventive move against all the passive-aggressive slurping. She adapts too.
5. Fuyumi
OK, can I just gush about her?
Tumblr media
She has become the absolute BOSS of this family. She can wrangle anyone to do her bidding. She is also stubborn in her sunshine ways - I love that nothing can discourage her from trying to get them together.
Pinching a pissy Natsuo under the table is a great sibling moment.
And I love the depth of the relationship she seems to have with Shouto. She’s really done right by him and it should be recognized more, because she was a kid herself, struggling, and now she could just walk away from this toxic place, but she hangs in there, because her she cares so much and has so much faith. Endeavor acknowledging her (not to her face of course) is a touching moment.
Tumblr media
6. Natsuo
Everything Fuyumi is, he’s not. And he has the right to be resentful of course, but ironically, out of Endeavor’s children, he resembles Endeavor the most - not just on the outside. No wonder they don’t get along. He’s holding onto the hate and grudge.
Tumblr media
His Front - Back T-shirt is hilarious.
But considering he’s the one who dropped Touya’s name the first time, I wonder if his “cooking” story is a foreshadowing of what happened to Touya. I.e. once it was clear that his body was too weak for his fire (or at least to All Might-beating levels), Endeavor forced him to stop training. Touya in his resentment of being “replaced” by the new masterpiece, defied his father’s order and burnt down something (was presumed dead). Anyway, until we are getting more clarity, this is my theory.
Love how freaked out Shouto is that he’s eaten Natsuo’s cooking.
7. Wonder Clean-up Duo
Deku and Kacchan’s professional clean-up operation is great fun. They even have the awkward conversation of “I know that you know - now you know that I know”. I think Deku deduced from Bakugou’s demeanor that he’s in on the Todoroki family secret, but he expected that it was something Todoroki shared with him, rather than something Kacchan overheard. Anyways, that cat is out of the bag finally.
Tumblr media
Also, it’s interesting that Bakugou’s reaction is not to say that it was wrong what happened, but that it shouldn’t be mentioned in front of guests. We already knew his home was not the pinnacle of raising emotional healthy children either....
Tumblr media
8. Shouto / Fuyumi and the flashback
I love so much this conversation between Shouto and Fuyumi - it shows how long they’ve come. They are so honest with each other. Fuyumi totally drops the happy act in front of Shouto.
The flashback to the scar incident was so raw and breathtaking. Every emotion - fear, regret, panic, pain, confusion - is so palpable on it. It legit makes you understand why Shouto never blamed Rei for what she did. As she was frantically trying to undo the damage - it made me tear up.
Tumblr media
Then Shouto’s really honest reply of not knowing what to think about their father. I love that. It’s so realistic. It must be for him especially so difficult to watch this Endeavor - he’s a good hero, a competent teacher - why waste all these years? All the could have beens are right in front of his eyes. He could have been trained in a way as not to lose his childhood. He could have been the son of a top hero he can be truly proud of.
Tumblr media
In think it’s also interesting that just like at the first family dinner, Shouto is only focusing on the hurt Endeavor caused his mother as a reason for holding onto his anger. He hasn’t really acknowledged the hurt he himself had been put through. I understand his hesitation to put himself into the victim’s shoes, but I think sooner or later he will have to face this fact. He was a kid, and he was badly hurt and it was wrong and it’s OK to feel angry for himself, not only for his mum. But he’s getting there slowly - not talking about his scar, and before when he talked openly about his father’s violent training methods.
9. The Midoriya - Shouto meta-conversation
Deku being Deku meddles. And I love how he reflects on the nature of forgiveness (it really feels something he has personally put a lot of thought into), which I think is not only about Shouto and Endeavor, but also, inevitably about him and Bakugou. I wrote more about it here.
Tumblr media
I think he’s helping Shouto by saying that holding onto the hate eventually is a valid response, but that he doesn’t think that’s where Shouto is heading (or Midoriya).
I think it helps Shouto understand that forgiving doesn’t mean betraying his mother, just as using his fire side didn’t mean that. It’s his power, and he can use it how he sees fit - to assert himself.
Also, it’s a grim reminder to Bakugou that nobody owes him forgiveness (not that he asked for it - yet).
10. Bakugou - Endeavor
Bakugou is watching Endeavor this whole time. I think seeing this destroyed family clawing to put themselves together is the lesson he was meant to learn during this arc. Burnt bridges, broken chances, time lost and an empty victory.
I can’t wait to see when it will pay its dividend in Bakugou’s arc.
Tumblr media
11. Touya
Everyone is screaming about it. Yes. I think it’s Dabi. Can’t wait for the fourth Todoroki child to come home (I hope it’s really happening).
Tumblr media
Bonus:
Shouto making a dig at Midoriya’s overly helpful nature.
Tumblr media
Well, there were plenty of opportunities....

Next Generation Current Plots
Tumblr media
I love andrea.
please try to like...not just take male plots for your girls
please don’t take any if you’re really not going to be into them because i worked so hard on these
Adelaide ‘Addy’ Maeve Coleman (DIAMOND BRIDGE)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Victoria - Victoria was addy’s classmate, turned best friend. She was her true friend when the others were kind of bullies. Their relationship has definitely deepened since then and addy can safely say she has a crush on her, but she’s also scared.
Ethan - Ethan is her ex-boyfriend and they were very on and off throughout high school. It ended badly and addy wants nothing to do with him, but she also doesn’t want him to be done with her and definitely clings to him.
Youi, Callie and Bianca - Her best friends from high school. In fairness, she probably likes Youi more than the other two but the bottom line was, they were all pretty mean to her and again, it’s the same with ethan, she’s done with them but they’re also her safety net.
Daphne - Her sister, they’re not the same at all. Addy’s definitely the girlier and more emotional of the two but at the same time they’re best friends because Danny and Zara wouldn’t let them be anything else even if they wanted to be LOL
WANTED
NEW FRIEND - She goes to diamond bridge but I guess it isn’t ESSENTIAL that they do too. I just want her to become part of a friendship group where everybody’s different to kind of take her out of her bubble. She’d still be the ditzy and girly one, but i think she’s reaching that point where she realises not everybody is a Callie, Bianca, Youi, Peter or Nicolai with no in betweens. Frenemy - Addy started off wanting to do acting like her parents, but then quickly became excited about music so she’s switched courses early on. I’d love for her to have rivals! Maybe two of them are growing pretty quickly music wise and they’ve been pitted against each other, but because they don’t know any better, they’re pretty mean towards each other. FWB - I feel like she went to diamond bridge newly single and she HATES being single with a burning passion; it’s her toxic trait. So, she definitely would’ve slept with the first guy who gave her the time of day just to feel wanted...Bonus points if some douche from one of the frat houses got pictures/video and it’s an underlying secret that they’ve got a sex tape.
Allison ‘Ally’ Marie Cortes-Smith (GOLD COAST)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Brett - Her current boyfriend and best friend. He came to her when she was really going through it and they definitely fell in love super quickly; but it’s also a really healthy and supportive relationship, something ally hasn’t had before. She definitely considers him as her family too, given the chaos of her own at times.
Haley - Her younger sister; their relationship has been turbulent and while Ally loves her, she doesn’t really want to at times. She feels like the childhood she should’ve had with her parents was spent on fussing over Haley and whether or not they’d get her back. Now she is back, it’s even worse and she can’t shake the feeling that Holly couldn’t care less about where she is - hence why she flew half way across the world for college.
Rowan - Rowan was ally’s boyfriend in high school. He got her pregnant in their final year and she chose to terminate the pregnancy after he told her she was on her own. He then claimed nothing of the sort happened, which turned a lot of people against ally and nobody besides the two of them really knew who was telling the truth. They’ve cut all contact.
Mila - Her best friend from violet springs; growing up, they were inseparable and ally would probably spend one too many nights at her house for sleepovers. They’ve turned out wanting very different things, though, which has strained their friendship - Mila has stayed local for college while ally left, and they’re both seeing their closeness fade.
Sofia - Another of her best friends, although they had some tension in high school because Sofia became close with Haley and Ally hated sharing anything with Haley.
WANTED
Goody Two Shoes Friend - Ally is a bit of a bad influence and Adrian and Holly aren’t TOTALLY to blame for who she is; she’s just a bit of a wild card & unpredictable. I really want her to have a friend she leads astray a little, maybe someone who’s used to always playing by the rules but it’s a hardcore platonic connection and they adore one another.
People who dislike her... - Since she and rowan go to the same academy, there could be more people who believe his side of events and just dislike ally by default. I won’t be offended by this! I just want all of my next gen characters to have deeper and more thought out storylines
Toxic friend - Ally is super impressionable and while she’s capable of leading people astray, she’s surrounded by enough sensible people - haley, brett, mila etc. to keep her grounded. I want her to have a toxic friendship with someone who maybe causes her to spiral and become more impulsive than she already is
Aurora Faith Kingsley (ROSEWELL)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Peter - Peter is her boyfriend but they definitely don’t have it easy. They both have pretty big personalities and they aren’t necessarily compatible in the way that other couples are, but they love one another enough to make it work for them.
Avery - Aurora’s best friend, although since they’ve gone to different colleges and aurora’s started dating peter, that’s become super fractured and difficult. Regardless of what anybody tries to get her to think of avery, she’s always going to have love for him, he’s one of her closest and oldest friends.
Judah, Whitney & Rowan - The closest things she has to siblings after Josh. They’re the children of Hensley and Christelle; Soraya’s best friends. They all had no choice but to grow up with each other and get along. Aurora definitely considers them her best and they’re constantly hanging out with one another and staying in touch despite being in different academies a lot of the time.
Callie - Aurora’s second cousin and not somebody she gets along with. They clash endlessly and never see eye-to-eye on anything. It got worse when Callie clearly wanted Peter. Aurora being hot-headed and impatient didn’t take it too lightly.
WANTED
New Friends - I think it’d be really cool for her to be friends with certain models who are just starting out and they all grow together, starting with bonding over fashion but then they become even closer as they move through the years.
Unrequited/Flirtationship - I’ve realised in both verses, I need to keep things messy and interesting if I get bored. Maybe somebody from Paris or at least close by who kind of has a thing for her - or just somebody who flirts with her to annoy Peter, if that’s more believable. She wouldn’t take too kindly to it but wouldn’t be able to help admiring the boldness of it all.  Frenemies - It may be that they got off on the wrong foot, they’re rivals or whatever! If you’re going to pick this one, please have a reason or an idea ready :)
Belle Cynthia Carmichael  (WEST IVYS)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Nila - EX BEST FRIEND. Nila’s definitely one to go to parties and get wasted and stuff but maybe after Belle’s parents divorced and Belle started going off the rails she was like woah you’re going too far. Maybe while Nila wanted her to tone it down, Belle expected Nila to follow her and eventually things went south, resulting Belle dropping her? I think from afar Nila would still be keeping an eye on Belle but she still thinks the damage has already been done Cam - HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART. They were high school sweethearts and the typical high school couple until Belle’s parents divorced and she pushed him away. Once one of his mother’s passed away and they ended up at West Ivy’s, they’ve sort of developed into messy exes-slash-friends with benefits. Belle’s all over the places with her feelings for everyone but she appreciates the familiarity.  Louisa - COUSIN. They grew up pretty close since Kendall and Anastasia get along. Since Belle’s been off the rails, Louisa’s done her best to keep her grounded and prevent her from getting in to too much trouble. She’s almost like a second big sister. WANTED
Socialite Friends - Thanks to the abrupt ending of her parents marriage, Belle is well and truly off the rails. She’s very Paris Hilton-ish in the 2000s. That’s where I got my inspiration from. She’s all about excess and partying so I feel like it’d be appropriate for her to have a little clique with exactly the same vibe.
FWB - male or female - Now she’s at West Ivy’s, she’s definitely experimenting and getting a feel for her sexuality because she’s not fully sure. I think there could be one person - potentially a little bit older - that helps her with this. Although, I doubt Belle would form an emotional attachment, she’d like the excitement of having someone new in her life like that. She’s currently a virgin and hasn’t slept with anybody.
Daisy Louise Romano (LIBERTY ACADEMY)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Peter and Carter - Her brothers. They’re extremely over-protective; especially Peter; but rather than rebelling and trying to act out like some younger siblings do in that situation, Daisy has become over-reliant on the both of them. They fight her battles, help her navigate through sticky situations and more or less think for her. She’s lowkey struggling without them in NYC but is determined to be her own person a little bit more.
Delena - Delena was an amazing friend to Daisy and stood by her when she got sick again. The girls aren’t the closest and seem to be doing their own thing at the moment, but Daisy will always consider her a good friend.
Josh - Josh is someone she’s always had something close with and it’s been complicated, in all honesty. They’ve been close friends for a while and always walk the border between that and something more. Daisy doesn’t really know what she feels towards him; she knows her brothers prefer him more than the other guys she’s been involved with but that’s almost more reason to keep her distant because she’s trying to make her own choices.
Rowan - Rowan is interested in one thing and one thing only; being the first person to sleep with Daisy Romano. He’s charming and knows how to make her blush and go all dizzy, but she’s still cautious of him.
Nicolai - Nicolai is Peter’s friend and at one point, he had a crush on Daisy. Daisy is kind of fascinated with him in the same way younger girls are fascinated with slightly older guys. She finds him both intimidating and endearing at the same time, but definitely keeps her distance because she knows that’s a no go.
Avery - Avery is Daisy’s newest friend. She always knew who he was but they never really had much to do with each other until they started at Liberty Academy. She does have a little crush on him and finds him super attractive, but again, she knows he’s not Peter’s favourite person and also has a sneaking suspicion that he’s more interested in Aurora. She’s not a stupid girl and won’t settle for being second choice; if that’s the case, she’d be happy to stay friends with him. Sylvia - Syl and Daisy would always bump into each other at the hospital when they were getting check ups and stuff, but never really got close aside from that bc they were in different schools. So maybe they ended up being roommates and they got really close and Sylvia accidentally took one of Daisy’s treatment letters thinking it was her’s, and that’s how she found out. Louisa - Louisa is her Liberty roommate. Since they’re sharing space, she finds out about Daisy being sick although Daisy doesn’t know that. If/when it gets worse, she sends anonymous copies of her doctors letters to people Daisy’s closest with so that she can get more help.
WANTED
Girl friends - Daisy’s seriously lacking close girl friends! I feel like she could do with these two types below  Responsible friend - Someone who’s kind of like a Mum friend and has her sit down and think things through, because she’s very impulsive by nature.  Hype (Wo)man - A friend who just hypes her up and encourages her to live her best life, probably the opposite of the responsible friend most of the time :’)
Darcy Briar Carmichael (ST JUDES)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Nila - They started as best friends and never really officially agreed to date. Things just went that way after they caught feelings and got a lot closer than they originally thought they would. Dacy still adores Nila but they were 16 at the time, so naturally they’ve grown apart in a romantic sense.  Louisa - Her older cousin. They’re really close and like best friends, they’ve supported each other through everything.  WANTED
Platonic Best Friend - male or female - I feel like because Darcy was the sister who internalised the pain of her parents break-up the most and didn’t show her emotions, it’d make more sense for her to have that one best friend who just knows everything about her. She’s really shaky with it and tries to hold herself together. Obviously their whole friendship isn’t just about her parents breaking up, but still, a friendship where they can just count on each other and it’s obvious they’ll never betray one another would be so cute.
On again, off again boyfriend - Perhaps one guy who she’s not good for/isn’t good for her but they always fall together and then apart again, but everybody knows they won’t be end game. I think she’d know it too but finds it hard to let go of people because there’s probably genuine fondness there too.
Enemy - Darcy isn’t really the competitive type. She hates bitchiness and would rather have 0 friends than surround herself with all the wrong people like Belle does. I feel like it’d be really cool for her to have someone she flat out hates on her modelling course because maybe they’re very full of themselves and outspoken, and one day Darcy just snaps? And it’s been tense and bad blood between the two of them ever since.
The son/daughter of her father’s new wife/girlfriend - I imagine her Dad has found love with another woman. Perhaps it’s the Mum of somebody at St Judes? Belle would hate this person but I think Darcy would make more of an effort to get to know them since they’re going through similar things.
Dixie Gisele Carmichael (ROSEWELL)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Fleur - Her twin sister. Fleur is her best friend and worst enemy at exactly the same time and it’s hard for anyone but the two of them to make sense of. They’re on the same wave length at all times and it doesn’t take much for one to know what the other is thinking. They grew up at the top of the social hierarchy in the Upper East Side and in Paris; you’re not in the right crowd on either side of the Atlantic if you don’t know who the twins are. HOWEVER, there’s huge competition between the two of them too. Fleur was the first to really break on to the fashion scene and start getting a whole new level of attention, leaving Dixie behind - bitter and ignored. She wasn’t going to go down without a fight though. She rejected her sisters Rosewell application, meaning she had to settle for a different university outside of the fashion capital of the world.
Whitney - Whitney is her cousin through Blake being Disney’s step-brother, even though it’s not biological, the Cruz-Mendozas and the Carmichaels have been raised as if they are. Dixie and Whitney arguably have two of the biggest personalities in the family and can be caught clashing and pissing each other frequently, but they make up just as fast and are back to bringing the flavour to family events.  Roman - Dixie has a huge crush on Roman and she really doesn’t care who knows it. She’d never go to the point of making him uncomfortable or putting him in awkward positions - especially because I think he’s dating someone? - but she will always openly flirt with him. Even if it pisses off Fleur, who also has a thing for him and is his best friend.
WANTED
PETTY Best Friend - She needs a right hand woman who’s like equally as petty as her and maybe they have the shared goal of being at the TOP of their game for this generation, and going down in History. That is a very Dixie goal and I feel like she’s really only interested in people who match her energy and ambition. There’s not a chance in HELL that she’ll be friends with self-victimising/self-pitying people who only care about being in relationships or their love life.
I-love-you-but-not-like-that-lol jk-definitely-like-that-why-are-you-so-crazy-and-obsessed-with-being-the-best-though? - I really imagine Dixie to have a best friend (male please, because it’s mildly romantic) who is just the total opposite to her. I feel like she’d probably meet them through the academy stuff and they’re just grounded/prefer simple things/aren’t raging lunatics who are constantly competing with their sisters BUT they kind of get dragged along with her craziness because they care about her :’) I feel like it’d be a slow burn relationship tbh. They start off purely platonic & see each other through a whole string of other relationships but it’s obvious they really like one another.
Status!Boyfriend - And by that I mean, a boy who treats her like absolute crap but she kind of keeps him around because he helps boost her status. She’s not like Disney, where she genuinely cares for Brody so she drops her standards a bit. She’ll happily make his life hell too and make it very clear that he’s nothing more than another step to get to where she needs to be - but he’s probably in a similar situation, I imagine.
Ex-Friend - This could definitely be something to do with Fleur, maybe they KNOW she betrayed her sister and think she’s a bit of a bitch for doing so, so they cut her off. They’d 100% be on Fleur’s hitlist too and I feel like there could be a lot of petty going backs and forth. Like Ally, she really can’t bring herself to fully understand how people can like BOTH her and her sister equally, because she’s kind of the underdog in a sense, so she’d feel super betrayed.
Dylan Samuel Powell (WEST IVYS)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Lily - Lily is currently his girlfriend. To be honest, I don’t know where they stand because I can’t remember LOL. They’re both at West Ivy’s and came together at the end of high school. There was a little bit of tension because there was stuff still between her and Nicolai; Dylan definitely isn’t the drama type and I feel like if it was obvious Lily still had split feelings, he’d be prepared to just call it off rather than let it get messy. Josh - A good friend that he bonds over photography and directing with. It’s a mutual friendship that’s developing now they’re at the academies.
WANTED
Old friend - Maybe an old family friend. He spent a lot of time away from Violet Springs. He and Janey both lived in Sweden before they came back to the UK full time. But, perhaps the child of Janey’s friend is quite close to him? I feel this person would know what happened to Janey and why Dylan is so protective over people, particularly his Mum, and is quite attached to home and not leaving her.
Ex Long Distance Gf - Maybe he was dating somebody long distance for a long time. I feel like growing up in Sweden, he would’ve been a little bit of a loner, but found a lot of connections online. I feel like they would have maybe dated for about 2 years maximum and met up a handful of times, but he might’ve called it off because it just wasn’t working or he found the distance wasn’t working? Maybe she cheated (I feel like he wouldn’t.) Bonus points if there’s a bit of a connection now they have crossed paths again.
Emmett Charles Hamilton (ST JUDES)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Cameron - They’re friends and get high together. There’s really not much else that goes with it. Louisa - This probably would have been painfully young, like early-mid high school and wouldn’t have lasted any longer than a few months. He would’ve got with her to lose his virginity for sure, because douchebags and peer pressure. Just so that there’s somewhere to go with their connection and it’s not just there, maybe they’ve weirdly grown closer now they’ve grown up a bit and still hook up occasionally.
WANTED
Fake tutor: Emmett was pretty bright but failed classes because he was lazy. Maybe there’s somebody who used to tutor him through his last year in high school because Nate made him have one, and he used to just pay them to sit around and play video games with him before leaving.  Current girlfriend/Love Interest: I feel like this would work better if they were at different academies. Maybe they got together over the summer and genuinely really like each other but they have A LOT of ups and downs. Maybe she’s his complete opposite and somebody who stresses over every little thing, whereas he just coasts through life. It might be nice if she isn’t necessarily from money either - because that could be a big tension point. I feel like their eyes would definitely wander when they’re away from one another and maybe one or both have actually cheated but always feel so bad when they sit back and think about it.
Jay Alexander Hamilton (LIBERTY ACADEMY)
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Sylvia - Jay always had feelings for Sylvia and it was a slow burn throughout high school. Please don’t shoot me @ tiah, I can’t remember if they ever became official but they’re definitely closer now they’re at Liberty and a little bit more mature than they were before.
Amelia - Gisele and Disney are still good friends, so Jay met Amelia through his cousins and aunt. They’ve always got along really well and Jay is super protective over her, whether she likes him to be or not. Neither of them currently realise the past that their parents had.  Ethan - Ex-best friend. Him and Ethan used to be inseparable but their personalities have started to clash and they’re more like frenemies these days.  Victoria - Ages ago at the beginning of high school, he was dared to date her as a dare and because he was young and stupid, he obviously agreed. She ended up finding out - or he confessed, i can’t remember - and she’s never forgiven him. He gets that, even though he’s personally moved on from it.  Louisa -  A new friend that he’s gained from Liberty.
WANTED
Ex girlfriend - Obviously from school before Sylvia. They’re all still young so I think it wouldn’t have been serious. I just imagine he’s had experience in relationships before. I don’t really have any specific ideas for what the dynamic of the relationship was like.  Summer Fling - This one is more apparent. Obviously, in the summer, he lives with his Dad in the Canary Islands. So, maybe somebody who came on a family holiday with to the hotel and they got pretty close. I feel like he would’ve been good at cutting it off though because...Yeah.  Liberty Friends - I feel like one thing Jay is good at is going from place to place and remaining popular, but he’s also shifting in popularity. He’s not popular because he’s associated with the mean/horrible clique but because he’s a pretty nice person. So, if you have any Liberty characters, please throw them his way for friendships and we can develop!
Kai Arden Powell - son of Louis & Lexi.
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Sofia - His girlfriend. They’ve been dating for a while and he wouldn’t change it. They’re definitely not completely stable and I feel like they’re young and have a lot to work out, but through Kai’s eyes (because he doesn’t know any better) she’s the one for him.
Aliyah - One of his good friends he’s made since starting at Willow House. He’s made it clear that he wants to be out of there and is trying to transfer asap but if one thing has come out of it, it’s his friendship with Aliyah! He likes her a lot and will definitely stay in contact if he does move on.
WANTED
The person who snitched - Kai basically found himself in this predicament because he let it slack in the last years of Gallagher. He ended up paying somebody to write his admissions essays and got found out. Maybe he never paid the person who wrote his and they snitched to the board of West Ivys (where he was originally going to go) and that got him kicked out? He’d definitely hold it against them.  Ex-friends - A friend he used to be close to back in high school but after he flopped and kind of fell of track, they haven’t really spoken to him or reached out for support.  Family friend - Someone he keeps in regular contact with who still supports him and maybe tries to convince him that Willow House isn’t that bad. Like, they recognise that clearly things have bit him in the ass and don’t understand why he’s still trying to cheat himself into a different academy. Basically a sensible friend that he ignores because he’s an idiot LOL
Ex-boyfriend - He’s bi and I feel like he was one of those kids in school who was super aware of it and open about it early. He obviously had the privilege of having Louis and Lexi as parents, who are VERY loving - almost to a fault, so he’s never really been afraid of judgement or being pushed out because he’s never really been exposed to that. He’s very privileged in that sense.  Maybe his ex wasn’t? And it ended because Kai couldn’t keep hiding it, whereas his ex almost needed to, so they went their own ways?
Charlotte ‘Lottie’ Bradford - daughter of Drew & Annabel.
Tumblr media
TAKEN
Yasmine - Yasmine is her best friend. They never really spoke in high school and it didn’t help that Lottie wasn’t there for a lot of it, because Annabel and Drew agreed to let her be home-schooled while she focused on music and (unsuccessfully) try to get the attention of record labels. But, now they’re both in Liberty and they’ve bonded quite quickly. She’s aware that Yasmin is super shy and anxious. Lottie’s the opposite, they balance one another out and she’s very protective over her.  Louisa - An old friend of hers. They were closer during high school and even though they have new friends and are in different points in their lives, they still care about one another.
WANTED (she isn’t even new but has nothing and it hurts my heart)
Old friends - I feel like Lottie is very much a hometown girl even though she’s moved out and gone far for college. There’s definitely four or five people that she’s been friends with since the beginning of high school and no matter where they are in the world, they keep in contact. These would be people she’d literally cross the world for to help out because she loves them that much. She was never cool at school, but didn’t ever crave to be.
First Love (3 way plot) - Her first love in high school, male please. Again, I hate it when high school romances are super developed and deep because 9/10 times, that’s not the case. I think maybe he thought she was pretty and she loved the idea of being in love, but when she started to become home-schooled, he obviously lost interest slowly and connected with other people...whereas she lacked that social progress because she wasn’t around people her own age. Eventually he called it off, and she took it...awfully. Her toxic trait is she takes all minor inconveniences horrendously :’)
Ex friend (3 way plot) - Perhaps this was the friend that her first love moved on to. I don’t think cheating would have happened. Maybe with Lottie gone, the two of them just caught feelings for each other. Lottie would have probably cut her out before she even got a chance to explain herself because it would’ve hurt. Bonus points if maybe they both miss each other more than they miss the high school relationships they fell out over. So, there’s potential for them to reunite.
Ex Boyfriend (2) - This would have been her late high school boyfriend, after she came back from home-schooling. I’d love it if they were relatively new in town or maybe they were outsiders somehow, but him and Lottie just had an instant connection. Lottie was never in the conventionally popular group but she was well-liked and known around the school, so I feel like her getting with somebody who maybe wasn’t on that social level would’ve been a little unexpected? But, I feel like she would’ve been totally in love with him and he would’ve been the person she’s had a lot of firsts with.  I think he’d probably be the one to end it after they grew up and maybe wanted different things from life. Lottie definitely is more angry about this because she’s hurt, rather than because he did anything wrong.
Crush - She’s now at Liberty (and straight btw!). So, a guy that she’s super into now she’s in a new city and starting a new chapter. I feel like it’d be very surface level right now and maybe he has no idea that she feels that way? OR maybe he does know, but kind of plays on it but never commits and she’d like that :’) but also get frustrated
New friendship -  A new friendship that’s perhaps a bit competitive. Liberty is a very high ranking academy and Lottie is used to music/doing cool things being her thing because nobody really started the same way she did in high school. But, now everybody has a goal of being famous and is doing amazing things? So they go in and out of being friends and being rivals?
Pippa Elizabeth Carmichael - daughter of Kelsey Calemine

Good Girls Season 4 Episode 5 Review
Spoilers
This is exhausting.
Brio needs to end soon (apologies but I don’t see what all the Beth stans and Brio stans see). We are definitely watching two different shows. Rio is just a prop at this point and I hope that changes soon - because the man ain’t stupid, but fuck me do they make him look like an idiot just to pump Beth up. I like them as a team but not as soul mates for life BS that many seem to see in the show.
The entire ‘get Rio and throw him under the bus’ narrative is getting old. It was fun in Season 1 and 2 but it’s the fourth year, get something new going please. I’ll be fine with them being allies as well, just add something new. My mother is even at the point where she’s wondering if the writers are just bored or lazy to think of a new narrative.
The Mick, Ruby, Annie and Baby scene was (chef’s kiss) amazing. They need more screen time. My soul is burning for a Rio, Mick and Stan scene, it’s burning. I am currently watching solely for Ruby, Annie and Mick material and the little nuggets of Rio (cos even though his story line is getting fucking bland and purely there to liberate fucking Beth Boland, Manny is killing it).
I personally don’t mind Dean and I’m happy that he’s out cos so far the show has been boring without his moronic white male antics. I feel for Kevin though, shame he deserved better.
Predictions for the rest of the season:
This SS storyline is gonna get dragged out unnecessarily
Dean and Rio will most definitely have a conversation
The boss is a family member and the love triangle will most probably be between Rio, his family and Beth (cos we know marketing in general for any show is clickbait).
Rio does not go to jail, cos he knows Beth is setting him up, or if he does he won’t be there for long
Rhea is gonna be at the house
There will most probably be another side piece/love interest for Rio (please I need this cos the Brio stuff is too over the top), cos you can’t be telling me everyone wants to bang Beth but no one wants to get with Rio???
Rio and Beth will end up working together like properly to get the SS off their backs, cos again, he knows, but then Beth will once again do something stupid and try to throw him under the bus (cos apparently that’s the only narrative that works with a show like this) yet again
Plot twist Beth will finally get what she deserves
Rio will murder more people
We know we get to see him box, but context, I hope it’s like gym/business meeting vibe with the inner circle
Rio was raised by his Abuela and has at least two brothers and a sister and a ton of cousins (cos we know Brown people and our families don’t end with just mom, dad and siblings)
Dean is going to leave Beth for real, real.
Things I want to happen:
Rio gets a proper love interest or side chick
Rio and Mick go on an adventure
Rio and Stan meet, throw Dean and Mick in for comedy and tension
Rosa is the boss, cos strong woman who is running her family and keeping them in line, in a society that was built to bring her down, but she still prevails, yes please.
Rio boxing with Mick and inner circle people at a business meeting in a gym or warehouse
Dean and Beth finally fucking talk like normal couples do in real life, cos dragging out a toxic relationship for four seasons is boring AF (he cheated, she cheated, he’s the reason they’re in this mess in the first place and she’s the reason they’re still in this mess cos she’s a narcissist who can’t learn from her idiocy)
Stan finally gets a break and becomes the boss we know he is cos he has been everyone’s doormat for 4 seasons.
Ruby, Annie and Mick go on more trips with baby, cos that’s pure and good and we all need it right now
Marcus and Rio interactions - bonus Rhea, just cos I’m curious to see how they interact
As much as I don’t like Brio, I wouldn’t mind seeing jealous or riled up Rio (cos let’s face it, they gonna use him as a prop to get someone else to bang Beth in this show, cos apparently everyone wants to bang this woman)
Mick tells Annie about his childhood or life with Rio
Ruby and Stan team up to deal with fucking strip club owner
P.s. the kitchen scene was cringey but boi looked fine as hell. We’ll be writing a LuciaxRio oneshot based off of that aura definitely.
As always thanks for coming to my TedTalk

for the salty ask: 3, 7, 10, 11, 15, 16, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 27 for spn
I had to do this one today because I have a LOT of Supernatural feelings and so a lot of these are even longer than my CK one. But thanks for the ask @wonderwolfballoon!
UNPOPULAR SUPERNATURAL OPINIONS AHOY: INCLUDES ANTI-DESTIEL SENTIMENTS AND OTHER UNSAVORY ELEMENTS
3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion? 100000000% I have unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion in the SPN fandom. SPN was the fandom that taught me to make JUDICIOUS use of the blocking feature tumblr offers in order to curate my experience. I would actually encourage anyone and everyone to use the blocking feature if they disagree with people. Honestly, we don’t owe anyone our time or energy, especially on the internet! It is much healthier than sending or responding to hate, IMO. 7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?* This is actually a hard one for me to answer, so let me start by saying -- I have not seen a SINGLE episode since 9x05? I think? Whichever episode was the Dr. Deanlittle one where he talks to animals. I just couldn’t do it anymore. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first 5 seasons, and they are all I watch anymore and I pretend nothing else exists after that (except The French Mistake because that episode is hilarious). But uh... I guess the simple answer is when I was originally watching it, I really loved Dean. He was brash, snarky, rough around the edges... but kind of soft in a I’m too toxically masculine to deal with my softness sort of way that I love seeing characters grow out of as they mature. But when I go back and rewatch now, much older than I was in 2006 when I first started watching, I see how awful a lot of his older behavior truly was. I still love Dean, and I will be a Dean girl until I die probably, but sometimes you gotta remind yourself that your faves have been problematic in the past so you don’t put them up on fandom constructed pedestals.
10. Most disliked arc? Why? AND AS A BONUS, MY ANSWER to 11. Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? I could write a literal essay about all of the problems I have with the later seasons (the ones I watched, which encompasses 6, 7, 8, and a few episodes of 9). But by far and away, the thing I hated most, was the Men of Letters.
Okay, this is where I am going to recognize my love of certain characters is at FUNDAMENTAL ODDS with how that character develops later and what history and background we get later on them. I RECOGNIZE this character is problematic, and I would NEVER STAND for his shit IRL, but fiction is complicated and nuanced, and fantastic circumstances do not make for normal behaviors. That being said, with all warnings I could possibly give, and with the full understanding that what I am about to say is basically fandom blasphemy of the highest order...
I like John Winchester’s character.
I know, I know. If you wanna stop reading and block me now, you are free to do that. I will not hold it against you. I am not about to apologize for anything he has done. I just need to contextualize why I have such an issue with the MOL storyline and it starts with the simple fact that I liked John Winchester as he was originally presented.
To me, and with the full understanding that I am answering this from the perspective of someone who DOES NOT regard anything past season 5 as personal canon, John Winchester is the perfect example of a truly complicated character. Here’s a parent who, if we take the pilot and the original s2 Djinn episodes at face value, could have been a great parent, who then got shoved into a fantastically impossible situation and made terrible choices that he thought were necessary in order to keep himself and his sons safe. That does not EXCUSE the heaps of abuse that he piled onto Dean in any way. We know John and Mary didn’t have a great marriage. But we also know from the pilot that John was at least a caring and present father, mostly,  for the 4 years he got to parent in a normal world, and that if Mary had lived, John would’ve been a softball playing dad who raised his kids and had a loving marriage with his wife. (Again, I need to reiterate, I did not watch anything past the early episodes of s9. If there is later canon that negates this, I do not know about it, nor do I want to because I don’t think of anything past 5 as canon) This is all important to me because these things emphasize that John was “NORMAL”. He was a mechanic, from a family of mechanics, whose father didn’t bail on him (a man in the episode where Dean is transported back in time to Lawrence tells John to ‘say hi to your old man for me’ or something to that effect). He was just a midwestern dude. Giving John Winchester a fantastical background through this Men of Letters bullshit made me SO MAD. First of all, I hate when later canon negates previous canon. I cannon TELL you how much I hate it. And the later seasons of Supernatural are riddled with stuff that doesn’t make any damn sense in the context of original, Kripke written canon, which is exactly why I stopped watching. That’s not ~Evolution of the show.~ That’s conveniently forgetting stuff that made your show and its premise so successful to begin with in order to keep filming episodes so you can keep making money. It’s the sacrifice of art for capitalism and yes I know this is a stupid TV show but as a writer myself it PISSES ME OFF.
/rant
ALSO, the idea that this toxically masculine family was set on this path by Heaven, and inherited this curse that put them on this path from their mother was such a good plot twist in its heyday. We spent four seasons thinking of Mary Winchester as a victim of circumstance, whose fate could not have been avoided because she was the mother to Sam, who is effectively cursed. And then, we learn that its BECAUSE of Mary that this ball even got rolling in the first place. IDK if you were around for that time in the fandom but at least in my circle, this was a big fucking deal. There had been so much (rightful) discourse about John before this, and what kind of parent he was, that Mary became almost deified in the same way Dean deifies her. And then we find out that this whole story gets set in motion by a decision she made because this was the life she found herself in. This was great. It was interesting. And even though the MOL doesn’t negate any of this, it does give John this weirdly fantastical that isn’t necessary. Let this guy be just some Joe Schmoe who fell in love with a kick ass hunter and had no idea any of this even existed. Let Mary and her want to be ‘normal’ be a complicated moral choice that fundamentally altered the paths of her husband and sons. It’s good tv!
Also, I fucking hate the bunker. The best episodes are Dean and Sam having moments in the car, or while in motel rooms on their cases, or whatever. I don’t mind them having a home base. I’m fine with that. But if a building could ever be a Mary Sue character, the bunker is it. I hate all of the MOL storyline, starting with this place.
I may not even tag this as Supernatural, I don’t need angry later season stans in my inbox.
15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?
There’s nothing good about anything that happened after season 6. It’s all a bunch of retconning bullshit. Season 6 had its moments where it was interesting, so I cut it a little bit of slack, but as far as I’m concerned, the show ended in season 5. I’m not sure that’s necessarily unpopular, but it does feel that way on tumblr, so.
16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?
Aside from ending it in season 5?
Oooh, I’m about to blaspheme again. I am definitely not tagging this as Supernatural.
I would never have introduced Castiel, and I would’ve given that entire storyline to Anna. Or, alternatively, I would’ve flipped their story lines.
Look, for whatever it’s worth... I agree with the idea that Dean Winchester is a repressed bisexual. His Dr. Sexy love, the entire storyline with Benny in season 8, etc. I just don’t think he feels romantically about Castiel. And like, that’s okay! Just because you’re not into someone who is into you doesn’t mean you owe them a relationship or anything, no matter what the fandom thinks.
But I also think Dean has a big problem when it comes to women. Again, obviously later on in the series, Dean shifts and Charlie happens and Claire Novak and I know all of these things from gifs okay, context is not applicable here because I have none. But early on, Dean struggles A LOT with thinking of women as A) capable and B) trustworthy. He exists in a perpetual state of identifying women along the Madonna/Whore binary. Even Jo, however you feel about her, and to be clear, I loved Jo, but he doesn’t stop thinking of her really as a kid until they’re about to shoot the devil. Up until then, he’s genuinely surprised Ellen lets her out of the damn house.
Giving him a strong, capable woman who rebels against Heaven for HIM would have fundamentally altered Dean’s perceptions of women much earlier on than we get and would have forced him to examine some of that misogyny head on.
Dean has no problems trusting men. This is why the entire Gordon fiasco happens, right? It was less work for him to trust Castiel because Castiel is the inverse of Ruby. Angel to her Demon. Angels and demons don’t really have genders, but for the sake of presentation of vessels, man to her woman. Not even getting me started on the problematic parts of having significant demons mostly symbolized by women (Meg, Ruby, Lilith) and having significant angels mostly represented by Men (Castiel, Michael, Lucifer, Zachariah, Gabriel, Raphael), and how that ties into the idea of Original Sin and yada yada, but just like it’s interesting to have Mary and her decisions be the catalyst for the story, it’s interesting to have this badass warrior angel in Anna who marches down to Hell to yank Dean out, and through her interactions with him, decide to rebel against the ultimate patriarchy, while Dean gets an equally strong female counterpart to Sam’s Ruby, a woman for all intents and purposes that he respects as a soldier and an ally and not just a potential piece of ass.
Also, Castiel fans being literally unbearable is why I left the fandom. Nothing against Misha or anything, and not even anything against Cas as a character (who I very much enjoyed in seasons 4 and 5), but his fans have always been the worst and they try to insert him into everything.
19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?
Castiel/Destiel fans, which even though I also hated the direction the show was going, drove me out of the fandom. Not like, personally or directly, but just the sheer mental hoops they had to jump through in order to make their ship work and I just got tired of seeing all of the contrived meta on my dash. Oh, and the rampant misogyny that came out of those early Castiel fans. I didn’t appreciate it from the Wincest corner, and I definitely didn’t appreciate it from the fans of the new guy. Gross.
22. Popular character you hate?
Oof. I don’t know. I don’t really hate Castiel, because again, I liked him a lot in seasons 4 and 5. Even 6 was interesting, even if I don’t regard it as my own personal show canon. I don’t think there was a popular character in those first five seasons I ever really hated. I didn’t fundamentally hate a character at all until the MOL stuff came around. Um. Yeah, I don’t really have an answer for this.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Pretty much every female character ever. Jo, Ellen, Ruby, Meg... although Meg became more popular as the series went on, Anna. Um. OH, BELA. Bela ESPECIALLY, I recently rewatched season 3 and I cannot emphasize how MUCH I love Bela. She was the best purely human foil ever. Bela is hands down the character I love most that the fandom had frothing at the mouth hatred for. It doesn’t help that I legitimately think Lauren Cohan is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. But seriously, Bela. Hands down.
24. Would you recommend XXX to a friend? Why or why not?
I have! Many of times, and ALWAYS WITH THE CAVEAT to stop at the end of season 5. Not a single one of them has listened to me and almost all of them came to me at the end of the finale and were like WHY DID I WASTE SO MUCH TIME, and I don’t want to say I told them so, but like, I explicitly in neon colored text once told them so, so like, idk what to tell them. But yes! I think if someone is interested in some classic mystery television that has an overarching theme of family and forgiveness and striking out against the boxes that life tries to put us all into, SPN is a great show. But only the first 5 seasons. Also, be prepared for some thematically problematic parts of the show because there’s a lot of cishet toxic masculinity in those early seasons, and we should examine our media critically. There’s also a lot of good though too, and IMO, the good outweighs the bad.
25. How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX?
I would’ve ended it at season 5. I would’ve had Sam escape the pit and seen him standing under the street lamp, but then I would’ve had him walking away to leave Dean with Lisa (btw, side note, I DIDN’T like Lisa because I don’t think Dean would ever be truly happy with someone completely outside the life). Not because Sam doesn’t love his brother, but because he *does* love his brother, and because he would want Dean to be happy, even though Dean and Sam’s ideas of what makes the other happy have always been a little bit screwed up.. but that’s a different story.
27. Least shippable character?
Probably Zachariah. God, could you imagine? And... maybe Alastair, but I’m sure there are fics out there that I do not want to think about.

RWBY’s Handlement of Abuse
Tumblr media
Abuse isn’t a topic that’s anything new in media, it’s been handled over decades in many different ways; some done very well and others... not so well. RWBY is one of the many shows that attempts to handle this controversial topic, and goes deep into how it not only affects the victims of the abuse, but also deals with different types.
Physical, Emotional, Mental, even less known ones such as financial abuse, this show actually handles many attempts with clear care and the writers do seem to do their research in this. In my opinion, this research and trying to find out more about this sensitive topic is shown very clearly. I don’t like talking about myself much, but as a victim of abuse myself, I hold this topic very dear to my heart and feel more strongly when it’s written compared to other topics.
So, with that in mind, I’d like to look at the different abusive relationships we have so far in RWBY, and to see how well they hold up in both writing and how they’re seen so in the FNDM itself.
Adam & Blake
Tumblr media
Now, one of the most well known abusive relationships in RWBY is the one between Adam and Blake. It’s been given the most screen time, thought, and it has the bonus of having happened to one of our four protagonists. There is no denying that the relationship between these two characters is an extremely toxic one, and it’s a relationship that has heavily impacted on both Blake and the FNDM as well.
Even before their confrontation at the end of Volume 3, Blake clearly shows the behaviour and the mentality of an abuse victim. She doesn’t see Adam as this monster, and whenever he’s mentioned by her during this time, she actually uses non-threatening or derogatory words such as referring to him as her partner or that he changed. She never outright talks about what it was exactly that Adam did to her or how he changed. In fact, the closest we had was after Yang was disqualified from the tournament where she explains why she’s afraid to just trust Yang again.
Blake’s journey of learning to live with her trauma and move away from the past is nicely written and I like the fact that it isn’t a straight path to progress. Blake stumbles, she fails and she gets back up again, something that’s great because that’s what most recovery progress is like. The culmination of her proving she’s no longer afraid of Adam at the end of Volume 5 felt earned compared to her reaction to seeing him again before, and it’s a solid moment of Blake doing this with Sun, a friend, rather than carrying on what she was doing before with pushing everything away.
While I’m not a big fan of her letting Adam go at the end of it, given that it just felt like she was letting a terrorist and extremely dangerous person escape just so he knew what it was like to run away, that doesn’t diminish how powerful that moment is for Blake’s character and her whole relationship with Adam. Adam’s short and Blake opening up more in Volume 6 shows use how far the abuse went.
Adam wasn’t afraid to emotionally manipulate and gaslight Blake when he felt she was questioning him too much. He’s emotionally shackled himself to her and clearly won’t let anything take Blake away from him, so when she finally leaves him behind, he believes that it’s her fault that he’s hurting and is unable to see how irrational that line of thinking is. He isn’t willing to take responsibility for what he did, and this carries on to where he would rather kill Blake than let her go again, even dragging Yang into it.
It’s really telling that Adam goes as far as to reject the chance to leave twice. Both Blake and Yang have matured enough to try and push Adam to leave them alone and to move on with his life, but he’s unable to comprehend doing so mentally. That emotional attachment to Blake is still there, and ultimately he died rather than break that bond. It was a cathartic moment for Blake to truly be free of Adam, and the fact that she breaks down rather than be triumphant feels like such a realistic moment because an abuse victim doesn’t just hate their abuser even when they leave.
Getting those moments that were great with your abuser out of your head is incredibly difficult, and it’s clear that even with Adam gone, the damage that he did to Blake’s mental state is plain to see, especially since she blames herself for the plan going wrong on the ship. She’s so used to it being her fault that she can’t comprehend when it isn’t, because to an abuse victim everything is their fault.
Raven & Yang
Tumblr media
Abandonment and emotional abuse go hand in hand, and I’d like to add that while Raven’s abandonment of Yang is a more typical style we are used to in media, where the person ups and leaves to never return, there is another type of abandonment; a series of temporary abandonment where the abuser returns again, only to up and leave when things don’t go as they want.
The abusive relationship between Yang and Raven is just as impactful as the abuse Blake suffered under Adam, and yet I feel that it’s weirdly brushed off by some people in the FNDM as well as not being given much prevalence when Yang finally confronts Raven, both when she met Raven at the bandit camp and in Haven’s vault.
I don’t like that Yang calls Raven “Mom”, because Raven is not Yang’s mother. She left when her daughter was just born and never did anything to raise her, which is what a parent is. It’s easy to have a baby, but if you don’t put in the effort to actually raise that child in a healthy way, then you are not a parent. On top of that, when Yang finally finds Raven again, she’s very emotionally manipulative of her daughter.
She constantly praises and is open to Yang when it suits her, but as soon as Yang makes it clear that she only wants to find Ruby, not spend time with her, Raven instantly becomes closed off and cold, making comments on that family only visits her when they want something. Not only is this classical emotional abuse, as she’s treating Yang well only when she believes Yang deserves it. Put plainly, Yang is treated nicely when she does what Raven likes. It’s also very hypocritical given how little Raven actually cares about her actual family.
Then the argument in vault further solidifies this. Raven isn’t above calling her mentally ill daughter a scared little girl when Yang starts shaking from her PTSD. She constantly tries to excuse her behaviour, albeit poorly, and Yang rightfully calls her out for not only calling herself strong while showing the exact opposite, but that she killed the previous Spring Maiden to take her powers while also calling herself merciful for doing so. It just paints Raven with a victim complex, that she had a hard life and survived it so her actions are justified.
The main problem that I have with this that I don’t have with Adam and Blake’s relationship, is that there’s no real ending to the fact that Raven abandoned Yang and left her daughter with crippling abandonment issues. Yang starts to touch on this when she asked Raven why she left her and her family in the bandit camp, but Raven deflected the question and it’s never brought up again during this time.
Their only confrontation after is in the vault, but as I mentioned before, Yang didn’t even try to find out why Raven left her. This was the one thing she wanted to find out, something that was built up in her talk with Blake in Volume 2, but instead they talk about the Spring Maiden and then Yang takes the lamp after calling Raven out for calling herself strong. No mention of how her leaving Yang affected her daughter, or even Yang trying to find out why.
The final thing with this is just how selfish Raven is. She willingly lets Yang take the relic despite knowing that Salem would go after her, rather than just closing the vault and leaving. That’s a choice. No one needed to take the relic because no one knew that Raven was the Spring Maiden. The only person who knew otherwise was Cinder, and she was believed to be dead at that moment. The fact that she cried for a few seconds seems to be enough for some fans to say that she obviously cared when Raven hadn’t shown any of that before.
She purposely manipulated Yang, she abandoned her family, she wanted the villains to kill her brother and lets Cinder throw a fireball at Ruby (Yang’s sister and her teammates daughter), and she shows no remorse for this until that one moment. That’s not good enough, and I certainly hope that Yang gets at least some closure in the upcoming volumes.
Jacques & Winter, Weiss and Whitley
Tumblr media
The interesting thing about Jacques’ abuse on his children, and his wife, is that it’s one of the few abusive relationships that we see have a different effect on each one of his victims.
First one and the one I actually have least to say about is Willow, but it seems that his abuse of her has the biggest impact because of how much it affects their children. It’s pretty clear that their marriage was very much toxic, but not so much that she would’ve suspected that Jacques didn’t actually love her given Willow’s severe reaction and decline mentally when he confessed that he only married her for her name.
This beating down of his wife’s mental state and driving her to alcoholism has the negative effect on the children because they no longer have that maternal figure in their life anymore. Willow was a caring mother; she attended Weiss’ recitals, she cared enough to throw them birthday parties and was angry when Jacques was late to Weiss’ tenth birthday, but after that she just stopped caring.
His behaviour with his children is that of a typical narcissist, and that it seems to have an effect on each Schnee child differently. It very much relies on dividing the siblings, playing on the typical golden child vs black sheep, and even then the term golden child is used loosely given how easily they can lose that title if they even step a toe out of line. With that mentality, Winter, Weiss and Whitley have that source of comfort and strength with standing together taken away.
Not only that, but a majority of his abuse comes from that narcissist behaviour. To Jacques, his children aren’t people with their own dreams and feelings and wants, their physical extensions of himself that he can control, befitting that of stocks to a business owner.
Let’s start with Winter. We can pretty much infer that what happened to Weiss had happened to Winter given what she says in Volume 3, that she went through something similar when she left to join the army. Winter leaving home to join the army is a direct comparison to the story of an abused child leaving the household to join the military as a way of escaping that trauma, and even then Winter is not completely free from Jacques because she has to keep contact with him.
It’s likely that moment of freedom she granted herself by joining the army was taken as an affront to Jacques’ power and control over her, he can no longer tell Winter what to do because she doesn’t live with him or rely on him for shelter, so he’s going to do the next best thing he can. He cuts Winter off from her money. It’s a fantastic representation of financial abuse that also affects Weiss in Volume 3, and shows how far Jacques is willing to go just to prove that Winter ultimately can’t escape him so long as she is in Atlas, which she remains due to her work.
The effect this has on Winter is very open and clear. Winter has pretty much thrown herself into her work and professionalism, to the point where, while it’s obvious she deeply cares for Weiss and had been looking out for her sister since they were children, she cannot let herself be free and open with her feelings. To Winter, her place in the military is home because it’s given her that chance for freedom away from her abusive household, away from Jacques. If that’s threatened or insulted, such as her fight with Qrow because he called Ironwood and the Atlas military “sellouts”, she will take it personally and lose her temper because she owes everything to Ironwood and the military.
Weiss is the one with the most affected character because of her status as one of the protagonist. Taking into account all of the material surrounding her backstory, Weiss, like Winter, was treated more as an object or commodity by Jacques, something that he could force to do whatever he pleased. It’s shown in the Mirror Mirror manga where he pushed her to sing at concerts at a young age, even to the point where Weiss was exhausted. When Winter stepped in and told Weiss to rest, Jacques took that as a slight against him and berated Winter viciously, lecturing her on upholding the Schnee name. He cares more about the name than his daughter’s health.
Even in her debut trailer,Weiss had to fight and be disfigured before Jacques allowed her to go to Beacon instead of Atlas. The permanent reminder of that constantly on her face. Even when Weiss finally managed to get to Beacon, Jacques constantly rang hr in an attempt to keep in touch with her, trying to uphold that small amount of power he had with Weiss in another continent. Trying to leave an abuser is incredibly difficult if you still have contact with them, even if it’s something as small as phone calls.
When she didn’t do what he wanted and answer his calls, that same financial abuse that Winter was subjected to happened again, and it’s obviously embarrassing to Weiss that she can’t even afford a meal now and has to rely on friends. That attempt to isolate her through embarrassment is just another effect from Jacques’ decision to cut Weiss off. When she becomes more rebellious and mouths back to him, as well as calling everyone out at the party in Volume 4, Jacques couldn’t handle this kind of rebellion like a narcissist would.
To him, Weiss is being unreasonable and he had given her everything she could ever want, so at this point he would simply take it all away. He can’t handle shame and seems to hold the Schnee name up, despite marrying into it, and when Weiss points this out he finally delves into physical abuse by slapping her. Given her shocked reaction to this, I don’t think she expected him to hit her, pointing that Jacques usually went for more emotional manipulation to keep them in line.
Finally, his abuse of Whitley has pushed his son in the complete opposite direction to his sister. As the youngest and unable to leave through the same way his siblings did, either joining the Academy or the military, Whitley spent his time in the manor with Jacques completely alone and isolated. So, in a desperate attempt to handle this pressure, he’s simply buckled under Jacques’ thumb and does whatever he can to appease his father, just because he’s seen what happens if he rebels like Weiss and Winter did.
Another note is that Whitley was 5/6 when Jacques’ true reasons for marrying Willow came out. After that Willow stopped being much of a part in her children’s lives, so much so that she’s constantly sitting in the gardens getting drunk. Because of that young age, Whitley never had any solid memories of a time where Willow was a more active and caring mother, unlike Winter and Weiss. While it can hurt to remember how someone used to be when they’ve fallen so far, they at least have those memories to hold onto. Whitley doesn’t, and that likely adds more into his isolation.
It seems however, that to a worryingly large amount of the FNDM, that Whitley’s abuse is swept under the rug and not talked about as much as Weiss and Winter’s, some even making him out to be the villain. The only thing that Whitley is guilty of is his poor attitude, and that alone doesn’t constitute to him being a villain or needing redemption. He wasn’t responsible for Weiss being disinherited, and his words to Weiss afterwards just tells us how much Jacques is getting to him.
If he doesn’t go against his father, he’s rewarded, but if he behaves like Weiss and Winter, then he too will be punished. An abuse victim still trapped in their home will do whatever they can to survive, and unfortunately for Weiss, Whitley doesn’t have the same escape options that she does or the connections outside of the family.
Marcus & Mercury
Tumblr media
There isn’t any onscreen time where we witness this abuse firsthand, but the effects of Marcus’ brutal treatment on Mercury is prevalent even after he killed his father. Mercury has been impacted severely both emotionally and physically.
Having been installed to be an unfeeling assassin by Marcus, showing any sort of emotional vulnerability is impossible for Mercury, and the one time he does talk about the things he went through to Emerald, he does so in his own way and reacts very badly when Tyrian reveals to be listening in to his troubled past. Even going to the point where he tries to attack Tyrian because he wasn’t taught how to handle his emotions in a healthy way.
He shows little sympathy for Emerald’s confusion and fear over not knowing what is right, but that’s not to say that Mercury doesn’t care at all. It’s likely that Marcus’ told him that, as well as relying on his semblance, feeling normal emotions like fear, empathy and love is weakness, and even likely beaten it out of Mercury. This leads a very emotionally disturbed teenager.
Now with the physical part we get some very disturbing reminders of what Mercury went through with his father. The first thing is that the fight between them ended up costing Mercury his legs, forcing him to wear prosthetics. That’s a very much blatant reminder of how far Marcus went, and not only will Mercury have to wear prosthetics for the rest of his life, but the pain both physically and mentally from the action will always stick with him.
The second part is even worse. Marcus practically took Mercury’s semblance, something that’s considered the very essence by the characters in RWBY, and Mercury canonically sees this as his father defiling him. Mercury is constantly reminded that he will never get his semblance back, unlike Jaune and Roman who simply didn’t unlock theirs, and pushed him to work harder than anyone else to get where he is. Both of these physical injuries serves to tell the audience just how much Marcus’ abuse of Mercury not only remain, but stick to him as well.
Cinder & Emerald
Tumblr media
Similar to Jacques with his children, Cinder is shown to not really care about Emerald outside of her Semblance, in fact only taking Emerald into the group because she was useful to Cinder’s plan. She plays on Emerald’s past as a street orphan by promising companionship and never having to go hungry again, something that Emerald desperately craved.
The main aspect to this relationship that makes it interesting is that, as of this time, it’s still an abusive relationship that the victim is in and wants to stay in. Emerald deeply cares about Cinder, and going off Mercury’s observation, sees her as the mother figure she never had. This devotion Emerald has runs so deep that she doesn’t ever question how Cinder treats her and reacts violently when Mercury straight up tells her that Cinder doesn’t care about either of them.
It’s at the point where Emerald doesn’t even consider her relationship with Cinder toxic. Everyone else knows that their relationship with their abuser in question was at least not good, even Blake in the early volumes because she knew that she had to get away from him despite her still coming to terms with it all. Emerald, however, is portrayed as the victim that doesn’t even think of themselves as a victim.
It reminds me of a video I watched recently. Here’s the link for anyone to watch, but it basically explains the type of abuse that doesn’t actually get shown all that much in media. Most abusive relationships portrayed have the abuser as a sadistic villain who abuses their victim because it brings them joy, and the victim knows that they’re being abused but are too scared to leave. It can be how the relationship is towards the end, but hardly any abusive relationship in real life are like that.
Cinder doesn’t accept any rebellion from Emerald. Like Jacques, she slaps Emerald and tells her to remember her place when she simply told Cinder that they didn’t need Mercury. To her, anything that Emerald says that isn’t her submissively accepting Cinder’s rule is something that needs to be snuffed out, even with physical abuse if needed.
While Mercury works for Cinder as well, this abusive relationship doesn’t affect him like it does Emerald, mostly because he isn’t in a delusioned mindset where he believes Cinder actually cares and he doesn’t need anything that Cinder can give to him. Their relationship seems strictly professional, Cinder needed an assassin and Mercury had the skills to do the job, as well as his underlying fear of what’s beyond his life that was forced on him. To Mercury, there is no need of approval or companionship from Cinder that Emerald wants.
Salem & Ozpin
Tumblr media
This is the relationship that mirrors so much to the abusive relationship between Adam and Blake, and yet it weirdly doesn’t get much screen time pointing out how toxic it was, rather spending time portraying Salem’s backstory and Start to Darkness. Seeing how Ozpin was treated by his wife is pretty much ignored not only by the cast but also the FNDM, with some people even going as far as to deny that it was even abusive to begin with.
Even before she threw herself into the Grimm pools, Salem was not a good person. After Ozma died, she went to demand that the Gods brought him back, not thinking for a moment about what Ozma himself wanted, and when the Gods constantly brought him back to life and killed him over and over again, Salem is not angry at that. She only fights against them when the God of Darkness took Ozma away from her again, demanding that they give him back. It shows Salem to actually be pretty selfish and unable to comprehend that what she wants may not be what’s actually best.
The good thing about this is that the story explains why Salem is like that. She’s not selfish to be selfish, she was sheltered away in a tower for all her life and as a result, was never taught proper coping mechanisms when she inevitably faces death, loss and grief. Not only that, the Gods’ behaviour towards her did not help matters. Rather than actually caring that she was hurting and help Salem, they treated her very much like a child throwing a tantrum and punished her in the cruelest way they could.
The thing is that this selfishness carries on after she and Ozma reunite. She canonically manipulated Ozma into acting like gods to lord over the new humanity, and when he started showing doubt she turned the blame on him by saying that he wanted it. Even when Ozma, who is derailed by the show and fans for keeping secrets, comes completely clean to Salem, she does not extend that courtesy and keeps what happened with the Gods a secret from him.
Eventually, when Ozma no longer wants to be a part of her plan or let her use their daughters to remake the world in her image, she attacks him and kills their own children. Salem shows no remorse for this, she knew that her children were there long before she attacks and she does so anyway. This just shows how little she cares about her own husband and children if they don’t toe the line with her. It even extends to her blaming Ozma for the fighting by telling him that they finally had freedom, seemingly holding resentment that Ozma didn’t want to be with her. After that, she burns Ozma alive.
The whole war between her and Ozma, even to her admission, is her want to watch everything that Ozma worked for burned to the ground. The only thing fueling Salem at this point is spite, just like what was fueling Adam after Blake left him and the White Fang. To her, Ozma has thrown away everything she worked hard for and that selfishness and inability to comprehend others’ viewpoints come into play.
Over the thousands of years after that fight, she does everything in her power to further terrorize Ozma. She turns his allies against him, she has her minions destroy his school and kill his Huntsmen, and in her song Divide, it’s basically a song gaslighting Ozma with Salem blaming him for everyone dying and saying that their blood is on his hands. There is no difference between that and Adam’s line “Why must you hurt me, Blake?” after he dismembered Yang. It’s classical abusive move of having the victim blame themselves for things that weren’t their fault.
Just like Blake, Ozpin is clearly affected by this abuse under Salem. He can no longer trust people, and he even goes as far as to blame himself for everything that goes wrong even when it’s not his fault, just like Blake does. He has such a low view of himself that he admits he’s made more mistakes than any man, woman or child on the planet, and the show at this point hasn’t had Ozma begin to talk to anyone about this even after Team RWBY saw what his life with Salem was like.
I certainly hope he gets the support he desperately needs in the upcoming volumes, because the writing regarding everyone dealing with this knowledge is questionable at the moment.
Salem & her followers
Tumblr media
Just like with Ozma, Salem is canonically manipulative with both the show supporting this and the writers in the Volume 6 commentary. She is especially harsh with Cinder and Tyrian, given that she spends the most time with them in Volume 4 especially, and you can see how differently the two react when around her.
Tyrian is utterly devoted to Salem, putting her up on a pedestal as a goddess, and Salem isn’t afraid to use this devotion against him in cruel ways. She dangles hope in front of him when contemplating over his failure in capturing Ruby, even though he stung Qrow who was by rights and purposes, going to die. However, when Tyrian seems more hopeful that he’s pleased her, Salem snatches that glimmer away and leaves him to have a mental breakdown.
Cinder on the other hand is completely quiet, and even when she can talk again, doesn’t have her attitude from the volumes before. When Salem snaps at her while training, Cinder visibly cringes. It’s pretty clear from her character and mentality that Cinder was someone who was so devalued and powerless in the past that she is willing to do anything not to be put in that situation again, even put up with Salem’s treatment of her.
Just like Salem, Cinder had become a victim of the cycle of abuse, and while Salem is no longer a victim, Cinder has swapped one likely abusive situation for another one. It even carries on into Volume 6, where Salem treats Cinder being outcasted from the group like a child being put in time out. It’s very infantalising and mentally damaging to Cinder, but Salem seems to treat it as adequate punishment for Cinder failing her. No matter what one feels about Cinder, no one deserves to be abused.
Despite their less screen time together, Salem’s behaviour even extends to the other members of her group. She physically assaults Hazel after the failure at Haven for simply accepting the blame, and shows little care for Tyrian getting caught by the table when she threw it. Given that the writers confirmed that she has a different way to getting to each member to do what she wants, and we’ve seen that she uses Tyrian’s devotion against him, it’s not a big stretch to assume she uses more physical means when Hazel eventually does cross her.
Her way of getting to Emerald is even through fear. She’s made Emerald so afraid of what she could do to her that even just asking has Emerald quickly giving up someone she cares about deeply, and that kind of emotional manipulation is a classic abuser tactic.
Blake & Sun
Tumblr media
Now this one has raised probably the most controversy in the FNDM, and I can see why. No, the relationship between Sun and Blake is not inherently abusive, nor is it any way evidence that Blake is an abuser on level with anyone else that is mentioned in this post. She’s not malicious or hurting Sun because of some slight against her, even though that’s not the only type of abuser and we’ll go into further detail in a moment.
The problem is that her behaviour towards Sun during Volume 4 is abusive, and it’s the worst written abuse in the entire show in my opinion.
The main thing that makes me say that is I’m not even sure if the writers intended to make these moments in Volume 4 abusive, but whether they intended for it or not doesn’t negate the fact that these scenes very much read that way, and it makes me uncomfortable to watch through even to this day. It’s not even just one fight where things got so heated that Blake lashed out, it happened multiple times over the course of the volume.
The first time is the boat. Sun was in the wrong for following after Blake like he did while she was still reeling from her trauma at Beacon, but that did not mean she was in the right to slap him across the face and then slap his hand away later on in the boat. She wasn’t in danger, Sun wasn’t threatening her and they weren’t even arguing, Sun was happy that they just survived a Grimm attack. Blake had a right to feel scared and angry that Sun basically followed her without her knowing, but that does not give her the right to lay her hands on him.
The show does this worse by playing it off as comedy. RWBY has a problem with playing some scenes for comedy when the exact same thing happening to a different character is framed as dramatic. Most slapstick comedy is scenes like Ruby and Yang fighting in the room in Volume 1 just before their exam, or Winter smacking Weiss on the head because she was rambling about things that she didn’t ask about. Blake hitting Sun here is not slapstick, but it’s played as such and that makes me very uncomfortable.
The next one is probably the worst offender of the bunch; the argument on the balcony. Once again, Sun was in the wrong for intruding on an intimate moment between Blake and her father, someone she hadn’t talked to in five years and thought that he hated her, but it wasn’t any malicious reason for Sun doing it. He had information about the White Fang that was urgent for Blake to know, because as he said, the White Fang would still go for her even if she didn’t go after them.
Should he have waited? Yep. Does that mean Blake was in the right for slapping him in the face twice? Nope.
On top of that, she goes one step further and breaks his phone when he tries to show her a photo of the White Fang member he found in Menagerie. She threw it off the balcony.
And the last scene is when Sun wakes up from being unconscious. He almost died, and yet Blake sits there and immediately goes on about herself and why she constantly runs away. It’s not bad for her to explain to Sun why she ran away, but the problem is that she doesn’t even bother to ask him if he was alright or at least tell him where he was before going into her rant about her friends getting hurt about her. The other problem is that we already know why she ran away, it’s all she ever talks about. She ran away so that her friends wouldn’t get hurt, she ran away because she believes it’s better to be alone, she ran away to think for a while after the Fall of Beacon.
Her whole speech in this scene gives us no new information and comes at the cost of portraying Blake as a very unsympathetic person. Even when Sun tries to comfort her despite being injured, she tells him to shut up and shouts at him. She towers over him aggressively with her hands balled up into fists, and you can clearly see Sun flinches now because Blake has made it clear to him that when she’s upset or angry she hits him.
And just like Salem, Blake’s behaviour makes sense. She’s stressed and scared and likely feels just as alone as she did when she first left the White Fang and Adam, only now she knows that Adam is explicitly coming after her and everyone she loves. Her past abuse at a young age means that Blake likely doesn’t understand how to healthily deal with negative emotions while in a relationship, something that Miles pointed out.
And even then, Blake is not inherently abusive. Her behaviour in Volume 5 has her and Sun’s relationship much more mutually respected and healthy. Even when she was frustrated she no longer took it out on him, and it’s good to see that after the mess that was Volume 4, but it’s how it’s handled that still bothers me.
Blake never learns that she shouldn’t be treating Sun like that. She’s called out by Sun for pushing her friends out and to let them help, but that’s not pointing out that she’s copying Adam’s own behaviours. It would’ve actually been a good and realistic arc given that it’s called the cycle of abuse for a reason. Blake realizing that she’s doing to Sun what Adam was doing to her and actively making the choice to do better, not having someone just tell her, would have been interesting to watch compared to what we got.
I feel like the FNDM can’t see this as abuse because Blake isn’t like the other abusers that we get in RWBY, and outside of Volume 4 her behaviour is not abusive to anyone. Even then, it’s understandable why she acts that way but that doesn’t mean how she acted can just be swept under the rug by both show and FNDM. It’s an ugly part of her character that should be acknowledged, and just because it happened doesn’t make her this evil being. Abusers can learn, and they can most certainly change, and that’s what Blake did.
I just wish the writers did it better.
So that’s it for all the abusers and their writing in RWBY. Overall? The writers certainly can handle this topic with the care and dedication it needs, and I’m actually happy with what we were given. Unfortunately, the ones that they did stumble one are pretty egregious and just leave me with a bitter taste in my mouth regarding those characters.
All I have to say is that abuse can come from different sources, and that media could do well with showing this difference. Abusers are often portrayed as one-dimensional bullies that torture their victims for laughs, while this is far from the truth and leaves people with a twisted version of what an abuser is, but I don’t think RWBY does that. Even when they stumble, they’ve written characters out to be just that; characters. Although we have more stereotypical abusers like Jacques, we also have those who come from pretty sympathetic backstories, even though we know that it doesn’t excuse their actions, such as Adam and Salem.
And really that’s the message I hope people do learn and use it to protect themselves with. You are hardly ever going to find someone who is so obviously an abuser; what makes them so terrifying is just how human they can be, and that sometimes they even have this twisted sense of love and reasoning over abusing their victims. Rarely it’ll be for sadistic reasons, but rather that they’re protecting their loved ones or that because they help in the victim’s dreams or goals that it makes their treatment of the victim okay, but it never is.
No one deserves to be hit, or made to feel like trash, or have their possessions broken. Everyone deserves love and companionship. Either way, thank you all for reading!

She ra review part 1
I know this isn't anime, but this show and how horrendous the writing got has honestly bugged me to no end.
SheRa 2018 is a "reboot" of the 80s SheRa, though I wouldn't even call it reboot considering the creator trashed the original constantly and also never even watched the original show in the first place. The only thing this "reboot" has in common is that it uses the names of the characters from the original and that's it. The show is basically a fucking fanfiction labelled under original work outside of that essentially.
Going into the actual show topic.
----
I started this show pretty much a year or 2 late, basically just waiting for all the drama to die down from the annoying reactionary communities. When starting out, I REALLY wanted to like the show, and honestly, I was enjoying it back then. Unfortunately, as episodes went by I started enjoying it less, ESPECIALLY in season 5 where everything had officially gone to shit.
The writing for this show is honestly fucking awful, they had many great ideas but either these were executed badly, or they didn't go completely through with it. There's also a lot of stuff that didn't make sense. Like when it comes to the princesses, elements, and their runestones. The elemental princesses are all able to do that rainbow power thing that I forgot the name of, yet some princesses that actual have a power that is elemental(*coughs*spinerella*coughs*) aren't able to be included in this. Glimmer which doesn't even use an elemental power can be included, but Spinerella, who literally uses wind, a fucking elemental, can't be included?? That sure doesn't make sense. This show also has a problem with further elaborating on things.
Though they did a REALLY good job with the writing of Shadow Weaver, she is a VERY complex character and you can truely tell the writers put alot of their effort into her. If you're not some fucking catradora stan that just immediately hates her character just because she abused your fave, than you'd definitely agree.
-----
Going into the characters themselves.
Adora
She's very bland for a main character and Im honestly not a fan of her design. Why is she shaped like one of those bugs from the ants movie when she was a soldier that constantly trained since childhood? She should have muscle of some kind, and that goes for everyone else in the horde minus Rogelio, Scorpia, and Huntara who was a former horde member.
Catra
I really....really don't like catra, she reminds me of 4 different goals I knew....if they all merged into one person... Catra is a selfish, manipulative, and very unstable character. She had SO many opportunities throughout this show, literally since the first season to just join the good side Adora is now on. Catra, unlike Adora was very much aware that the horde was evil since day one, yet when offered the chance MULTIPLE times to join the good side, she refuses, but is still VERY adamant on stalking Adora, and constantly trying to kill her. Season 5 was especially awful, she literally got worse and worse overtime until this season and in season 4 was willing to commit mass murder(or would it be mass genocide?) all because of Adora, just to spite her. I see many catra stans trying to say catra's redemption arc was better than Zuko's when um, no? It wasn't. Unlike catra, Zuko didn't have multiple chances to better herself and join the good side automatically. Zuko, from what I remember, couldn't just immediately drop everything and join the good side. He was a prince of the fire kingdom who was stuck under his father's command and he actively had to work to better himself throughout MULTIPLE seasons before he could join the good side and gain people's trust. Meanwhile Catra had multiple chances since literally day one to better herself and go to the good side, yet she just wanted to be an asshole, attempt to kill everyone, abuse others, and overly obsess over, stalk, and literally murder Adora on multiple occasions. Literal toxic relationship, but that didn't matter as long as it was catradora end game.
Bow
I actually have no problem with him, he's a nice support character. The only annoying thing is that his abs are constantly showing no matter what he's wearing, except for the one time when he was trying to hide his real self when we first meet his dads.
Glimmer
I didn't like this girl either. I hated the way she treated her mother. She just seems spoiled and whiny and way too quick to do things without an ounce of thought. The way she treated her mom most of the time was just completely unnecessary. Like dayum bitch, she just doesn't want to lose the only other family she has left. As someone with mother issues and does not have a mother, Glimmer had literally no reason to be that fucking rude to her mother, her mother just cares about her well being, safety, and overall existence, unlike mine.
Shadow Weaver/Light Spinner
Excellent character, very well written, bonus points for having a hot voice and having big milf energy. She was the horde kids caretaker and trainer from what it seemed. She has a lot of layers to her. If you look more into her character you see that she actually does care about people around her, she just could be emotionally stunted. She was kinda both selfless and selfish. She had this whole obsession with gaining power which she had even as light spinner, which definitely hints at her family maybe being disappointed in her for being powerless or something along those lines. She even shows signs of having been abused herself, but unfortunately continued this cycle of abuse on Catra and Adora specifically. Shadow Weaver had many goals that involved Adora specifically and she was willing to hurt others in order to finish this goal. Even as Light Spinner this was prominent as she was willing to help save the universe even if it ended up harming herself or others around her in the process. She wasn't just some cruel old woman, but a very complex woman that had a lot of baggage. Sucks that they ended up killing her, I wish she got her own redemption because her story definitely had a lot of potential to be great. It would've been cool to see her try to better herself out of her own willingness, repent for the shit she'd done, maybe a childhood backstory to understand her better, and she tries to apologize to those she used and abused and it doesn't in any way involve having to accept her apology. I just think Shadow Weaver was a neat character.
Hordak
The mindcontrolling is not an excuse for how fucking shitty he is, he became a fucking a war criminal and coloniser out of his own free will. The fandom seems to think that shadow Weaver had done everything wrong, but look at hordak like "uwu my sweet cinnamon roll". Hordak literally colonised kingdoms, kidnapped infants and young children, most likely imprisoned and/or killed those babies parents/other family members, tried to take over the whole world, and other actual war crimes, but he got a pass to walk off into the sunset because he had feelings for someone, and his big bro was mean to him when he was in the cult. Don't come at me with the 'buts' you have, wrong hordak didnt do any of the bs our hordak did when he was no longer under mind control.

I think I'm done for now. It's 1am now. I'm gonna just stop here and continue with more at some point.

Thoughts/ reaction to AWAE 3x6
That opening scene of the preparations for the county fair makes me nostalgic for some reason. Also, I need this background music in my life. I love AWAE's cold opens.
And... we're off to a bad start. I have a terrible cold and so does Anne. I know exactly how that feels. And to have something important coming up as well... Poor Anne.
Matthew and his radish are the expected golden content of this episode and I'm all in for it.
If this episode consisted of nothing but the colourful everyday life at the Cuthbert household, I would still love it as much as any other episode. Maybe even more than some.
Gilbert is making me laugh. How is a white shirt key in making a good impression to anyone? If anything, I wouldn't seek the approval of people whose opinion of me depends on a white shirt. And what does he need Winifred's parents' approval for? Is he marrying her now? As far as I can remember, he wanted to marry Anne last week. Seriously, Blythe, make up your mind!
"Not thinking that far ahead", my butt! Last week, as far as I remember, you were thinking that far ahead. With Anne in mind.
And there goes our dashing young hero... Who can't figure out whom he likes. Seriously, I want to like Gilbert because I love Gilbert, but he's not making it very easy for me.
Anne is the classical Smitten Teenage Girl™ in this scene.
"Special occasion? - No, not really." Yeah, right, that's why you tried on every single one of your virtually identical white shirts a scene ago. But we wouldn't want Anne's family to think you're dressing up for another girl, would we now?
What is Anne sneaking out for? Since when does she need to sneak out to visit Diana? She's not Jerry.
Diana knows things about Gilbert's subconscious that he's hidden away so carefully that he doesn't even remember they're there: "Maybe it was an excuse... To see you."
Minnie May makes such a good Diana impression... Am I a bad person for thinking that maybe she could be the kind of daughter her mother wants, while Diana embraces her happiness with Jerry?
Look at Anne almost quoting the source material... and I think the comparison with Elizabeth and Darcy is quite accurate, at least on account of my reactions to both couples. I mean, you have two individuals who are very obviously made for each other but will go out of their way to convince everyone, including and especially themselves, that they’re not. Also, Anne reminds me so much of Elizabeth Bennet, AWAE Anne in particular. And of course, this line means that all the visual parallels were on purpose! Poetic cinema is coming full circle by acknowledging itself.
Ok, but Minnie May is such a typical little sister. I love her so much. But why won’t Diana tell Anne about Jerry?
Gilbert is dressing up for Winifred. Meanwhile, Matthew is dressing up for his radish. Spirit animal material much?
And all of a sudden Anne is the typical Smitten Teenage Girl with all the associated behaviours: awkwardness, embarrassment, noticing weird details about the object of her affections (the chin comment, anyone?), and now “he loves me, he loves me not”. Come on, girl, you’re different. You’re better than that. But, of course, the ways of love are mysterious.
The baby horse is still the cutest thing in the world. Along with baby Delly, of course.
And now Anne even has her hair done in the very same style as all the other girls. At least that was different before. I mean, I love the look on her, she’s as beautiful as ever, but I’m getting the rather unpleasant idea that she’s losing her uniqueness and it’s all because of Gilbert; and based on what we saw of him in this episode so far, he’s not worth it.
On the other hand, the books had her become more... conventional, or at least conventional-presenting, by the time she turned 16, so that might count as source material accuracy.
The fortune teller cracks me up. Cigarette smoke in an orb? Really? Also, Anne totally said what I was thinking: “I think I learned more from the daisy”...
“Does my hair look more auburn?” That’s Book Anne right there.
The background music... you can tell by it that the Baynards just entered the scene... also, Derry. Derry! Oh my goodness gracious, DERRY!!!
I love the subtlety of their exchange about the book and the handkerchief. They’re doing this secret romance thing very well.
Ok, a second ago everything was so beautiful and hopeful, and then... first, Diana notices Gilbert before Anne does - and in quite an unpleasant position. And then Diana’s mother goes on about “extricating” themselves from the Baynards... poor Derry. Especially poor Diana. I just wish all this classist behaviour would go to... Hartford, Hereford and Hampshire (bonus points to all those of you who get the reference, and to me for referencing a work about classism in relation to classist behaviours).
Miss Stacy is the epitome of feminism in this scene - wearing trousers and giving all the men a run for their money at shooting. Go, Muriel!
As much as I dislike Rachel Lynde’s general behaviour, the relationship she has with her husband just has to be admired. Maybe she just wants Muriel to have what she has, and she’s failing to see that maybe not everybody needs or wants the same things.
And... Billy’s back. I remember saying back when I was watching 3x1 that if i never saw him again, it would still be too soon. I don’t mean to spread hate, but I’m sick and tired of his sexism and racism and homophobia and toxic masculinity. But well. To each their own.
I love that Prissy is back as well. She made the right decision about herself when we last saw her, and she doesn’t seem to have taken a single step back. In fact, she appears to have moved forward since we last saw her. Good on you, Prissy! But now Josie seems to be headed down a similar rather toxic road to the one that Prissy barely escaped - and with Prissy’s own brother, too. I hope it all works out well.
This is the moment I realise how unfortunate it is that Prissy and Josie aren’t very close. If they were Prissy might have warned her against some signs of toxic behaviour that she herself didn’t recognise back then...
Of course, Billy. Of course the game is “rigged”. But not for Jerry, it seems. In your face, Andrews!
I. Am. Dying! I just want to shout “Derry!” from the rooftops.
The little dog matches her gloves, you guys! Also, every time Diana says “Merci, Jerry!”, I just melt into a big puddle of fangirl.
The county fair is treating my boy Jerry really well, I must say.
Can we talk about Diana’s boldness, though? She’s really living life to the fullest, if only in secret. I hope my daring girl is free to pursue her happiness one day. And that day better be soon.
This conversation must be so uncomfortable for Gilbert. And he’s putting himself through it for a girl that isn’t even meant for him. He knows it, no matter what he tells himself or everyone else.
I just pictured Matthew saying to Gilbert “What are your intentions towards my Anne?”, and now my heart is breaking at the thought that he might never get to say it.
I am totally with Anne on this one, but you have to admit that the fortune teller was right about one thing at least - “The universe works in mysterious ways.” As frustrating as this episode is Shirbert-wise, I stand by my ship and I hope they will both come to their senses soon enough. We wanted angst, didn’t we? We wanted pining and obstacles and a realistic development - well, there it is. Why are we frustrated about it? This stage is not final.
“That boy is not your fish.” No, but he is her lobster. Gosh, I’m full of references today.
“Classmate and family friend.” Oh please. I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I like Winifred better than Gilbert in this scene: “Do you spell it with or without an E?” I really wish Gilbert wasn’t in the picture right now because if it weren’t for his role in each of their lives, Anne and Winifred might just be friends.
This was awkward. Really awkward. Gilbert didn’t hesitate for a second when he introduced Anne as his classmate, but now he’s stumbling over what label he should put on his relationship with Winifred. If I were to put it for him, it would be “friend”, maybe even “mentor”, but who knows what he or Anne are thinking during that long pause.
The tension, the suspense... is this MasterChef? Last I checked it was not.
Ok, but Anne in this episode is so much like Book Anne, at least as far as I can remember. It’s been a while since I last read the books. Gilbert is as far removed from his book counterpart as can be, though, and I don’t like it.
Most unusual? What is that supposed to mean? Also, I agree with Anne about entering herself, but maybe not with the connotations of “unusual” she’s thinking about now. She’s all kinds of wonderfully extraordinary, I mean. I hope she never forgets that.
Oh, look, she came to that realisation. I love that; and Marilla is such a mood on the balloon. But seriously, I'm delighted to  see Anne coming back to her old self.
Is that Gilbert dancing between Anne and Winifred? Poetic cinema.
Ruby and Moody? I ship it! They are both absolute cinnamon rolls and deserve each other so much!
“Pretty face”? Is that all she is to you? Whoa, things took a turn for the darker pretty quickly.
“I want your pretty face”... and I want you locked up. At the very least. He had no right to do that to her!
Ok, I know we’re in the middle of one of the darkest moments this series has shown us so far, but we need to talk about Ruby being oh so excited about Moody writing a song for her and the prospect of becoming Ruby Spurgeon. Wow, she moves fast! She deserves all the happiness in the world and I’m so happy she’s finally being noticed by someone... someone who is really right for her and will make her happy. #Rudy #Mooby #Spurgillis ?? Somebody please come up with a good ship name for them.
Now Anne is considering Charlie? “Sloane? Sounds like “moan”, “tone”... I guess Gilbert deserved that with today’s behaviour, though.
Miss Stacy asking Matthew to dance just to “drive Rachel mad”... I love it.
Could that be Diana and Jerry holding hands in plain sight in the dance? Could it be? Am I dreaming? Pinch me. Or better don’t. I never want this to end.
Good thing news travels fast so Anne could hear about Josie. Otherwise no one might have ever found out. Victims rarely ever tell and that’s a big mistake.
I so wished Anne would punch Billy in the face Hermione-style, though. The vibes she was giving off suggested she might do it, and yet she didn’t.
The next day at school, Anne is just... completely savage in the best way of saying it. “Need to catch a train to Charlottetown?” She has no time to waste worrying about Gilbert now, she has an important cause. I love it. Too bad nobody is listening to her, though. This is too much like reality. When the activist talks about the real issues and tries to find a solution, people just change the subject and talk about insignificant petty problems instead. And the worst part is that this isn’t just in that time and place - it happens today, it happens everywhere. People still haven’t learned not to cover their eyes when a real problem arises. This has to change.
To sum up today’s episode: the county fair pulls people back into their everyday work while also sparking the fire of youthful courtship among them; Gilbert is not Gilbert; Anne is Book Anne; Shirbert takes a giant step backwards; Jerry takes  a cautious little step forward, Diana leaps into the unknown with open arms; Matthew’s radish and Anne’s person are most unusual in the best way possible; the Andrews family has some achievements and some issues; Miss Stacy is a feminist icon; Ruby and Moody are very much a thing; Anne is now an ignored activist.

You Asked, I Told and Update
CW: Spoilers for Baghdad Waltz up to chapter 36 and some non-graphic discussion of childhood sexual abuse
Hello!!!
Wow, I am so, so sorry for falling off the grid like that. I thought I was going to have WAY more time in October/November to work on the fic and work on fandom stuff in general, but my professional life threw me a huge right hook and I got completely sidetracked for weeks. So I’m off schedule a bit, in terms of having the next chapter. I’m sorry for the delay.
I’m done with the full draft of Chapter 37 (about 23k - “short” but emotionally very dense) and am working through final revisions now. However, I also had to do an extensive amount of 9/11-related research for it, and part of that research has been reviewing oral histories of New Yorkers from the day of the attacks, and I came to the shocking realization that much of the prologue is historically inaccurate. Moreover, it’s shamefully inconsistent with the way that New Yorkers would respond to such an event. I’m embarrassed by how shoddy of a job I did with it.
Thus, I’m also going to be rewriting the prologue and including more accurate details, both historically and in terms of character dynamics. I mean, there’s no way Bucky could even live in Brooklyn and be a first responder at Ground Zero! All the bridges and tunnels were shut down. Shame on me. There will be ripple effects throughout the entire fic. Sigh. This is just round one of the massive amount of revisions I will be doing to the early chapters of the fic, which I wrote years ago now. I was going to wait to post both at the same time, but I don’t want to make you wait that long. I’ll just give you a notification when I finish the prologue revisions, and it’ll be like a little bonus chapter.
Anyway, here are some asks! Starting with a two-parter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you’re finding this fic moving. It’s definitely an emotional rollercoaster for these characters, and my hope (I guess?) is to have that be a parallel process for the readers. I think you hit the nail on the head that this relationship is exhausting. And you’re also right that not everyone would have the perseverance to keep coming back to it. It would be so much easier to amputate, pack up and go home. But once these characters get back into each other’s orbit, it’s very challenging for them to not keep crashing back into each other. It’s partially because they just love each other so much, but it’s also because they have an unhealthy relationship dynamic that sets them up for these toxic cycles. This will become especially apparent in the next chapter. They love each other, yes, but they also use each other to fill the gaping holes and insecurities they have within themselves. And they’re horrible communicators to boot. It’s a perfect storm. But at least they are going to try out some of this therapy crap maybe…?? We’ll see!
Along a similar line…
Tumblr media
Thank you so much. That is so lovely of you to say, and I’m happy that I have your trust with this story. That said, I don’t know if it’s weakness if you’re not willing to run yourself through a miserable gauntlet of suffering the way Steve and Bucky are doing in this story. Would we call Rikki weak for drawing a boundary and stepping away from Bucky when his alcoholism was destroying their family? Some people used other words, but I’m not sure if weakness is the thing that might make someone walk away from a relationship like this. Just because you love someone doesn’t mean you should keep slamming your face against the same wall until you’re black and blue. This is a highly dysfunctional couple, and these men have serious issues they are grappling with personally that make them ripe for this kind of relationship. Bucky is an open wound, crippled with shame, desperate to do anything to feel better. Steve has deep attachment injuries from his chronically ill mother and deadbeat dad, as well as major control issues, and he wants to latch on and fix and make right, and if he manages every variable just right, he really thinks he can do it. And then throw in a fuckton of PTSD and TBI and alcoholism and physical injuries on top of it. So no, I wouldn’t rush to judge yourself for not envisioning yourself gutting it out in this grim scenario.
But I also think we can identify with at least one of these characters, and we can root for people who want to overcome the shit that life has thrown at them to be with the person they love. Because they really do love each other. There’s just so much noise that it’s hard to tease out the signal sometimes.
Tumblr media
Good call on Bucky being a notoriously unreliable narrator, and he’s someone who is likely to underreport his suffering. Aside from his war-related injuries and his psychological struggles, Bucky’s most symptomatic issues are his GI problems. He has both peptic and esophageal ulcers, which are slightly different creatures. Peptic (stomach) ulcers, in Bucky’s case, have been caused by H. pylori and exacerbated by smoking and drinking. The esophageal ulcer was most likely caused by an excess of stomach acid due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and, once again, exacerbated by drinking. Both of these have led to nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, and weight loss. They have really emerged since Bucky got out of the military and pursued drinking with renewed vigor. Though he wouldn’t know it at the time because he doesn’t keep up with these things, his GERD is very possibly linked to acute, high dose exposure to the exceedingly toxic “dust” from the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. It’s one of the most widespread chronic health ailments of those exposed, aside from lower respiratory problems.
And now for some heavy-ass questions from licketysplittt — see CW above.
Tumblr media
Yes, I am going to talk more about the context of Bucky’s abuse for sure, so I won’t go into the depths here. But I will say now that you are absolutely right that he has complex feelings for his abuser. I think it would have been easy to write him as just being unidimensionally angry or ashamed, but I know that’s not the experience of everyone who has experienced sexual abuse. This is especially the case if the person who commits the abuse it is a family member or caretaker or friend or trusted religious figure or someone who’s not just a “stranger in the bushes” type. I wanted to try to capture that experience in this fic. Bucky has also been multiply victimized by multiple people over the course of his life, which adds to this complexity and creates an internal narrative for him. Like what does it mean that this keeps happening to him? This is also not an uncommon experience for people who have been abused as children. And there’s also the added piece of this that Bucky’s gay, right? So he’s got this very, very young sexuality that’s on the verge of blooming (your Disney sexuality perhaps, sitting close, holding hands, etc) and this older male is making sexual advances toward him, and so he might ask if this person “saw” something in him aside from his social isolation that made him choose him. These are certainly questions he’s tortured himself over. I will get more into all of this, I promise.
Tumblr media
Winnie and George undoubtedly knew that their kid wasn’t a very popular one. But perhaps they always knew that he was a kid who wasn’t destined to have many friends because he’s “sensitive” or however they would characterize him (I’m sure they had different ways of viewing him). And I think it’s important to take into account the type of household that Bucky was in and the way he would shape his behavior. George was this total wildcard — “Best Dad in the World” most days but a screaming, violent tyrant at these odd, unpredictable times that were fucking terrifying for everyone in his path. This is a house where it’s best just to shut up and create as few problems as you can, because you don’t want to be the one that dad is gonna flip his shit at. And so everyone is walking on eggshells and Bucky is going to get very good at lying about how bad things are. And oh! Jamie finally has a friend, how wonderful. There will be more details in upcoming chapters about how this all transpires, but I think the dynamics at home made it possible for a lot of this to happen. And you’re right that these were not the most skillful parents, and their marriage was very strained and stressful for everyone. And these fictional assholes also frustrate me! The emotional content can be hard to write. It’s one reason these past few chapters have taken me soooooo painfully long.
Great questions! You are all so thoughtful and kind. Sorry again for getting so terribly sidetracked. I am going to keep plugging away at the chapter and at comments and asks. I’m optimistic that I will have the next chapter for you within the next two weeks. I am pleased with this chapter and hope you’ll like it. Thank you for being so patient!!!

YOU GUYS!! ❤️❤️❤️ @denerims @foofygoldfish @firstofficeruna @outranks
I owe you all my entire heart thank you for letting me ramble about these two dorks
long text wall ahead
1. Who is the most affectionate? Neither of them are very outwardly affectionate in public, especially Jason but you get them alone in close quarters and they’re all over each other. Jason in particular loves to give her little kisses or just have her near him because I think he really craves that kind of love. It does take a while for them both to open up to each other initially though.
2. Big spoon/Little spoon? Jason is much bigger than Olivia but he loves being the little spoon most of the time. He’s very physically intimidating and tough but when it’s just the two of them he melts around her and like I said above, he craves her love and attention even if he feels he doesn’t deserve it at times.
3. Most common argument? I think it would be about Olivia going out on patrol with one of the other family members/on her own or just about her getting into dangerous situations in general. Jason is very protective of her like he is with all his loved ones. He’s been injured and near death many many times and he really doesn’t want that for her but he can’t exactly argue with her when she throws that back in his face because she doesn’t want that for him either.
After some training from primarily Dick, Barbara and Tim though Jason feels a bit better about Olivia going and doing those things though he still isn’t very happy about it.
Olivia loves Jason but she hates when he treats her like a fragile little child that needs to be sheltered, she’s been on her own for a long time before he came around and she could take care of herself even before she got her powers.
They never argue for long though they’re terrible at verbally apologizing to each other and instead make up in other ways…
4. Favorite non-sexual activity? Reading together. Whenever they have some time off, they’ll sit in Jason’s place on those rainy days and just read. It’s very quiet and a peaceful change from their often dangerous hectic lives.
5. Who is most likely to carry the other? Jason, he’s much stronger than her haha she tried to carry him once but he’s built like a brick wall and just about as heavy, she couldn’t even get him off the ground.
6. What is their favorite feature of their partners? For Jason, it’s Olivia’s smile. Before she met him and the family, she hardly ever smiled. When they’re together though he loves making her smile or laugh more than anything.
For Olivia, it’s Jason’s eyes. When she really gets to know him, she can read him like a book just by looking at his eyes. They’re her favorite shade of blue and she blushes a bit every time she catches him looking at her.
7. What is the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other? For Jason, it’s an “oh shit” moment and he leaves the city for like a week because he needs to be sure of it and honestly it scares him quite a bit.
By the time they catch feelings for each other, Olivia’s pretty involved with the family and the vigilante stuff so it’s hard for him to avoid her but boy does he try. It obviously doesn’t last long and after a bit of urging from Dick, he accepts it.
8. Nicknames? & If so, how did they originate? Nothing much besides the usual Jay/Liv. Olivia is the only person allowed to call Jason “Jay” too, everyone else gets a death glare.
9. Who worries the most? They worry about the same amount. Jason worries because one of his biggest fears is someone he loves getting hurt which is why he doesn’t let her go on patrol with him for the longest time.
Olivia worries because she’s lost a lot of people she’s cared about and when Jason comes along, it’s like no one else matters to her anymore. So she worries every time he goes out because it seems like Red Hood has a lot more enemies and gets shot at quite a bit more than any of the other bat vigilantes.
10. Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant? Olivia. She’s got a talent for remembering things about other people but absolutely terrible at remembering things for herself. They eat out a lot and everything he likes is the kind of thing she just knows and never really has to think about.
11. Who tops? 🙈
12. Who initiates kisses? Jason, especially if it’s little pecks of a kiss, Olivia gets a lot of those. Except for their first kiss, she can usually always tell when he’s about to give her a serious kiss just by looking at his eyes.
13. Who reaches for the other's hands first? I would say it’s an even mix of both. If they’re in a dangerous situation she’ll reach for him and he’ll shield her without even thinking about it.
14. Who kisses the hardest? Olivia. A lot of people have come and gone in her life so when she gets attached to someone, she holds onto them hard.
15. Who wakes up first? Jason. He’s had plenty of nights with little or no sleep so he doesn’t actually sleep much at all. After he and Olivia start living together though he does manage to get a few good nights of sleep a week.
16. Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? Olivia, when Jason is awake it’s time to get up and go but Olivia is the one trying to persuade him to stay for just 5 more minutes which then turns into a few hours 👀
17. Who says I love you first? Jason, it was one of those times where he just blurted it out without thinking and regretted it immediately. It actually took a little bit of time after that for Olivia to say it back to him in the meantime Jason contemplated how hard it would be to convince Clark to throw him into the sun.
18. Who leaves little notes in the other one’s lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?) If they were ever to have a set lunch they really never do I like to see them drawing dumb little doodles on sticky notes back and forth to each other
19. Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first? This is very sad to say but Olivia has no biological family or friends my poor baby. Jason doesn’t explicitly tell anyone about them getting together but Dick was the one who kind of nudged Jason to go after her after he noticed how he felt about her like the good big brother he is. So when they get together, Dick is actually the one who breaks the news to the family ha.
20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship? The Batfam think Olivia is a wonderful influence on Jason. She gets him to open up a bit more and rounds his hard edges. Dick is the biggest supporter and hugged them both for a solid 10 minutes when he found out about their relationship. Overall they’re all really happy for Jason because they see how happy Olivia makes him. Alfred is the second biggest supporter of them because he remembers just how lonely Jason used to be when he was younger.
21. Who is more likely to start dancing with the other? Jason, he would never let anyone know it but he’s a total romantic dork. When they get to the comfortable part of the relationship, he’s doing all those cute sappy things like serenading her in his boxers just to make her laugh or pulling her in for a slow dance on a rainy day so he can be close to her. It’s worth it to note Olivia is the worst of the worst at dancing but he tries anyway.
22. Who cooks more/who is better at cooking? In my fic Jason lives in Chinatown and with both of their busy crime-fighting schedules, they don’t really get to slow down and cook much. When they do it’s actually usually Olivia with very little help from Jason mostly because he’s absolutely disastrous at it. No amount of teaching from Alfred when he was younger helped that boy, but thankfully Olivia is naturally gifted.
23. Who comes up with cheesy pick-up lines? Jason ha. He thinks of them just randomly during the day. Picture Jason busting a drug deal or something, guns in hand and thinking of pick up lines that will make her laugh later accompanied by an eyebrow wiggle.
24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times? Jason absolutely. He has far more experience there than she does and it shows, he loves making her blush. Though once she did it back to him and well let’s just say it was almost over right then and there 👀
25. Who needs more assurance? Olivia does need assurance every so often but Jason for sure needs more. He still has quite a shaky relationship with the family, Bruce in particular so he can’t exactly get it from them not like he would ever ask them in the first place though.
26. What would be their theme song? I just found the song If I Killed Someone For You by Alec Benjamin and it’s a total Olivia/Jason song, it’s my favorite song on Olivia’s playlist by far.
Also it’s more of a song for them and the whole Batfam but I’ve always loved Family by Mother Mother and thought it works with Olivia & the whole batfam
“A motley crew, a rodeo A goddamn zoo, a circus show But oh don’t you know how it goes We are all walking each other home”
I can’t look at those lyrics and not think of them I mean come on.
Another choice would be Melanie Martinez’ cover of Toxic by Britney Spears
27. Who would sing their child back to sleep? Omg I can’t think about them having a child that’s too soft for my poor heart
Honestly, I think it would be Jason, he’s definitely not the singing type but I can see him cradling their baby and humming or singing lullabies very softly while Olivia watches from the doorway in tears at how much she loves them.
28. What do they do when they’re away from each other? Worry. A lot. They don’t really like to be away from each other and if they have to, they try to keep it short. Is Jason’s away he will call or text her when he can just to see if she’s alright and if Olivia is away for some reason though she never leaves Gotham, she tries very hard not to think of all the things that could happen to him while she’s away. Her powers do come in very handy if she needs to get to him quick though.
29. One headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart. I feel like even when they’re together, Jason has a hard time loving himself and believing he’s deserving of the love Olivia gives him so in the beginning he pushes her away and from time to time he’s still pretty distant around her. Over time with being together, they begin to heal each other of wounds like that.
30. One headcanon about this OTP that mends it. I’ve mentioned it before in another post about them I think but I have a headcanon that while Olivia is the better cook, Jason does cook for her if she’s feeling down. He usually makes grilled cheeses like Alfred used to make for him when he was younger 😭

Us and Sebastian Stan and Romania
So, this is a personal post, so if you’re not interested, just look at the pics, reading is not necessary :)
I have anxiety.
This means I rarely leave my comfort zone, including my hometown.
This year, I’ve already done that, and I’m going to do it again, so I’m proud of myself. American Independend Film Festival is a milestone to me. :)
Tumblr media
This time, I didn’t go alone, I had the awesome @cpt-winniethepooh with me, who helped me through a lot of my issues during our trip, and to whom I grateful for it. She’s the best friend anyone could wish for.
Next time, when I’ll go to America and SDCC, I’ll be alone, but now I feel a bit more prepared, if only marginally. It counts.
So, that was the personal part. And now what you’ve been here for: Sebastian himself!
We’ve meet him three times!
At the Friday evening, we took pics and nothing more, since we didn’t have tickets for that night’s screening. He was as gorgeous as ever in his suit and honestly, after we left, I literally cried tears of joy and shock of being this close to him.
One of my pics:
Tumblr media
Official pics from that night:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next time, Staurday’s afternoon, he was in a hurry leaving the theatre where he did charity meeting with kids all day, and when he came out, he apologized for being in a hurry and unable to stay for his fans. (As far as I know, he was late from his radio interview - honestly, he was constantly late, each occasion we encountered him :D) And he wore his green leather jacket! I won’t admit an undignified squeek that escaped me when I realized this fact. (Pic is not mine, I wasn’t able to take pics that time.)
Tumblr media
We didn’t leave after that and waited for him the remaining time. It was worth it, honestly.
Tumblr media
I guess you see my point. This was... honestly, like a religious experience. Being this close to him, being able to see him with my own two eyes. Also, he signed my bullet journal, namely a calligraphy I did with his quote! And he liked it! He quietly ‘WOW’-ed and asked where are we came from, so, I uttered out my country and basically that was my whole vocabulary to that hour. I was stunned, shocked, in a very good way. He ignored the red carpet and came into the crowd of his fans to be able to sign/interact as much as he could. He was kind and radiated his warm aura - I can’t describe it any better - and smiled at everyone, even in the middle of the trip that probably left him totally exhausted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And his autograph:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then the filming of I, Tonya; and the open talk with him.
Some highlights and quotes:
- On toxic relationships: "What I think about? *nervous laugh* I've been in a few." (...) "In the long run, I'm not sure how worth it if people keep hurting each other." (...) "But it's very difficult if that's all you know." (...) "You keep looking for the love that you've got from your caretakers. That's all you know. And sometimes chaos is love in someone's mind, if that's all they know. That's the sad part about it, beacause... All that stuff happens early on."
- Working with Margot Robbie: "It was great, she definitely punched me in the face a few times!" (...) "I needed someone who I could really trust. We needed to trust each other."
- When someone started her question with 'I've seen Infinity War...', while the audience roared up, Seb, barely audible to his mic: "Not a word! Not a word!", and then when the fan said 'you ripped my heart out': "Are you sure I did? (...) Because... A lot of people on that film... *makes a face*"
- And after someone spoilers Bucky's role in IW, he was speechless for good half a minute, looking around with scandalized face and opened arms, and then all he was able to say is "Look... take care."
- To the Chinese fans who are still waiting for IW to come to theaters in May 11: "Stay off the Internet... which, probably will be okay in China." (...) "I was very sad I didn't get to go there this time around... I guess they wanted to take the better looking people like Chris Hemsworth."
- The most meaningful line to him (from the Captain America series): "I can do this all day." and (of Bucky’s) "Who the hell is Bucky?" (with perfect intonation)
- His similarity to Bucky Barnes: "he's a person who's trying to accept his past and grow with it. (...) not everybody has a great past! that's relatable.”
- His advice to upcoming actors: "Take what makes sense to you, it's not about right or wrong."
- His advice to teenagers (who wants to be actors): "You have to be very careful who you surround yourself with and what you put in your mind every day. If you're gonna compare yourself to certain people (...) it's gonna be a lot harder. (...) Go for it!"
He was so open talking about insecurities, anxiety, his relationship to his romanian roots, and basically everything (we didn’t ask personal questions about relationships or family):
- "I always think I'm gonna... eventually you're gonna realize I'm just a fraud!"
- "Everybody has felt some loss, whether as a person - love or an accident happened, or a job, or something you care about."
- "I had an autidion for this movie 'mother!' (...) and I got so worked up ... (...) and finally I went in and I ended up hyperventillating on the floor. And they had to help me breathe for five minutes, so I didn't get that part."
- "I had no expectations. I certainly did not expect anybody welcoming me in the way that you guys have welcomed me."
- He admitted he asks "Are you okay?" from himself in the mirror!!!
- He acknowledged his "resting murder face"
- His soft, solid :O face when someone said he got a job in Constanca because that's his birthplace and then he started clapping with the audience.
And of course the best...
“Bucky Barnes... IS NOT A VILLAIN!”
Bonus:
We bought gifts to him, and the organizers took them from us and promised they’ll deliver them to him. I wrote him a letter, to make him feel good and appreciated. And according to his instagram, he got the gifts! :)
So, all in all: I’ve spent an amazing weekend with my best friend @cpt-winniethepooh; I’ve got a nice Iron Man book that I’ll use as research material for fanfics, I’ve met amazing people like @andreasnirvana and other fans (there were people from Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Turkey, Greece, some other Hungarians and of course Romanians... so he really brings people together!); and of course, first and foremost, I’ve met him.
Best weekend ever.

11 questions game
tagged by @raptorlily, who prepared 11 questions for her tag-ees:
1. The core four + Kevin and Cheryl are attending a literary character party. What costume does each of them wear? Bonus: What costumes are the Southside Serpent characters wearing?
OH BOY. well, betty is elizabeth bennett. her instinct is obviously be nancy drew, but then decides she wants to play dress up a little bit. she tries valiantly to get jughead into a darcy couples costume, but his instinct is to just be sal paradise because he won’t have to buy anything for the costume.
betty tells him that if she’s not going to be nancy, he should go outside the box too. he then decides on dressing like the titular mummy from jane loudon’s the mummy! (he’s still a weirdo, remember)
veronica goes as daisy buchanan if not purely for the extravagant opportunity to dress like a flapper, archie comes as jim hawkins from treasure island, cheryl bucks expectation and attends as a female robin hood (she already loves archery), and kevin is absolutely sherlock holmes. he’d look so natural in a trenchcoat!
2. What extracurricular activities are Reggie, Ethel, Fangs, Midge, Toni and Sweetpea involved in?
besides sports, reggie’s extracurricular activity is definitely selling ground up oregano to middle schoolers and telling them it’s weed.
ethel is canonically a drama geek and that’s valid, but she’s also probably in band. i’m gonna go with....flutist.
fangs is also canonically a drama geek and a regular geek (less we not forget jughead used a larping club to lure fangs out of a self-imposed suspension) so i honestly am just waiting for him and kev to start up their dungeons and dragons club. (wow they are perfect for each other tho??? a dorkier bughead)
midge (RIP) was probably into 4-H bc i can’t get the concept of “klump farms” out of my head. she seemed like a genuinely sweet person who also was a regular teenager and was a cheerleader and probably volunteered at hospitals too idk
toni wanted to get laid so bad she became a cheerleader. or, ok, seriously i mean my headcanon is like, it’s bring it on, where toni was into gymnastics and dance in a v serious way but southside didn’t offer any curriculars that would allow her to do that, and she couldn’t afford gymnastics herself. turns out the closest thing riverdale has is cheerleading, which’ll do.
sweet pea is probably the lowkey nerdiest of them all. i was joking earlier that he’s probably secretly into anime, but more seriously: feel like he’d go for basketball officially and also probably has an interest in engineering. i mean, that interest began with pipe bombs, but. yanno. ya dreams gotta start somewhere!!!
3. Give me three of your favourite headcanons for Reggie
had a crush on betty until high school
does his dumbest shit for his dad’s attention, painfully unsubtle about it
is cripplingly afraid of being alone, which is why he surrounds himself by teammates at all times and/or can’t get past the pack mentality. has difficulty being vulnerable in spite of all that, can’t be honest with himself and/or with others.
4. It’s Saturday night and the core four are all hanging out by themselves at home. What is each of them up to?
betty is listening to the memory palace podcast while laying on her bed, feet crossed up in the air, doing her homework. cleaned her room earlier. wants to call polly. she doesn’t. stays up till two am for no reason other than her room is warm and full of golden light and it’s the only time the house is quiet. plugged back in her old nightlight, half out of spite after polly nearly threw it out, half genuinely. sometimes she thinks she’s still afraid of the dark. the irony isn’t lost on her.
jughead is working on his novel, american crime story is playing on the TV in the background, a bag of popcorn slowly rotating in the microwave. the trailer is empty and he chooses to think his dad is at work. emails his sister. he doesn’t remember when, but they’ve stopped talking about their mom. his tattoo itches. toni told him not to scratch at it.
veronica is drinking chamomile tea on a tray, scrolling through pinterest and making a european vacation mood board for the post-graduation trip she’d like to take with her friends. she wants to surprise them with it, all-expenses paid. she resists the urge to book flights years in advance. browses the barney’s website. doesn’t know why she gets such a thrill from online shopping. isn’t sure why she can’t stop.
archie is in the garage, his fingers strumming aimlessly over the strings of his guitar. wonders why his mother can’t be a lawyer here in riverdale. isn’t sure if music was ever his own, or something he thought he should want, because he didn’t want to work construction. or worse, because a woman found it attractive. brought his history textbook out with the intention to study. doesn’t. practices wonderwall, even though jughead laughs whenever the song comes upon.
5. What’s your headcanon for Jughead’s hat? Why does he wear it? What’s the origin story?
his mom made it when he was a kid, and growing up in threadbare clothes donated down the line of serpents or thrift store finds, it was the one thing that was truly his---made for him. with love.
being scrawny and quiet and outgrowing his pants too fast to replace them already set him apart. might as well let the hat seal the deal.
6. What is your Riverdale guilty pleasure ship? One that you don’t necessarily ship in canon but wouldn’t mind reading fanfiction for?
don’t think i have one, honestly?
7. Can Chuck be redeemed in your eyes? Any caveats or things that would need to happen to make this count?
yeah, it’s really interesting answer this question post 2x18, but---yes, i definitely think chuck can be redeemed. i never wanted him to be a villain in the first place, for so, so many reasons.
i mean, comics!chuck was a deliberate bucking of specific stereotypes that riverdale slid right back into without seeming to think about what it was they were saying by doing that. (related readings: x) and then the way they did it---ack.
outside of the vacuum of comics vs. show, i think that where we’re at culturally, we’re really asking men to unlearn their toxic masculinity. especially of adolescents who are still growing and changing---and what chuck did was certainly part of the vacuum of male privilege/toxic masculinity, but he faced consequences  for that, and then he acknowledged it. actively has announced he wants to change, and i genuinely believe it at this point.
and while i wish chuck wasn’t the character they’re doing this with in the first place, “cancelled culture” can be really frustrating because it’s way too binary. it undermines the growth and self-crit we want people to be doing.
obviously, it doesn’t apply unilaterally, some people are abusive or cruel or malicious to the point where they lose their ability to profit off of it, and rightfully so---but with a character like chuck, whose main crime appeared to just be slut shaming, i actually appreciate a narrative where a male character owns up to how that was bad, why it was wrong, and how they’re going to change.
8. What is a storyline you’d like to see most explored on the show?
just---more familial dynamics. i cannot wait for gladys and JB, i think that’s going to be so meaty and tragic and emotional in the right ways. i want more of polly and betty’s relationship, and/or how betty feels watching her sister run away constantly, or just their dynamic in general. more of archie and fred navigating dreams vs. reality. i kinda don’t love veronica’s parents tho, and i’m not sure where they could take that in a way that i enjoy.
9. What is your favourite Riverdale fanfic trope or cliché?
pining, man. just. pining.
10. What is existing scene or storyline would you rewrite to better suit your tastes?
HAH. how much time do we have
BONUS:  Archie starts a band. He settles on ‘The Archies’ but what were some of the other suggestions for the band name? Name three songs that show up on their debut album.
jughead’s suggestion is: red drum, red drum and he thinks it’s hilarious
three songs: midnight ride, smoking gun, and can’t fly
my 11 questions for my taggees
1. which twist did you least see coming? genuinely.
2. we all know riverdale loves hopscotching through genre elements (true crime, musical, grease, etc), and sometimes it’s too much, but which has been your favorite? what other ones would you like to see from the show?
3. riverdale does dirty on its secondary characters. what storylines would you give to reggie, kevin, josie, etc? or, what would you like to see for them in s3? anything you thought the show really fumbled? did right?
4. what are your backstory headcanons for sweet pea, fangs, and toni?
5. what’s your theory on the old riverdale riots?
6. it’s the ten year high school reunion. where did everyone go to college? (core four + the secondary pals) what’s your headcanon for their future careers? who’s still together? who wishes they were still together? who hooks up unexpectedly in a storage closet?
7. what’s a storyline you just didn’t buy this season?
8. any headcanons for the riverparents? like, how they grew up, who they were in high school, why they went the directions they did?
9. what’s one trope that you’d wish the show would do? or something you wish you saw more in fic?
10. thoughts on reggie? will he ever be fleshed out? will it make him more of a villain, or less of one?
11. if you could have anything happen in s3, what would it be?

(lee taeyong, he/him, bisexual)  HEY, ISN'T THAT  [KIM JEONGMIN]? YEAH, THE [TWENTY-THREE] YEAR OLD [CISMALE] FROM [SOUTH KOREA]! YEAH, I HEARD THEY'RE THE [FASHION DESIGN] STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM  NOW! LET'S HOPE THEIR STAY HERE IS AN ADVENTUROUS ONE! (dani, twenty, she/her, pst)
jeongmin is a fashionista, from designing original pieces to styling.
his current aesthetic: goth street looks. think seoul fashion week.
he loves nothing more than styling his friends or anyone who asks for help; he works within your budget and closet. he knows how and where to find deals and just overall very resourceful.
he’s all for the environment too, the studio is filled with a variety of recyclable bin from plastic to old garments.
he works as a part time visual for a retail store, it’s only a couple hours three mornings a week when he doesn’t have class, it’s good to have some sort of income. plus they pay him well considering his major and eye for new campaigns.
he’s the guy with a variety of hook up numbers on his phone, never by name but with an emoji and number next to it. he’s a hoe (no jk i love him) and finds validation with the amount of people he sleeps with honestly it’s sad i don’t think he’s ever been in a genuine relationship. it’s just angst n heartbreak so he’d rather just sleep with ppl.
anyways, his goal? design for the met gala and BE IN the met gala to show all those celebrities how it’s TRULY done.
hic current look: taeyong in the chain mv.
Tumblr media
(nam joohyuk, he/him, bisexual)  HEY, ISN'T THAT  [MOON HANJAE]? YEAH, THE [TWENTY-FOUR] YEAR OLD [CISMALE] FROM [SOUTH KOREA]! YEAH, I HEARD THEY'RE THE [PERFORMANCE] STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM  NOW! LET'S HOPE THEIR STAY HERE IS AN ADVENTUROUS ONE! (dani, twenty, she/her, pst)
my son whomst i BIRTHED
part of the fuccboi squad...SHOUT OUT..shout out..aahhhh..was popping ooooo
he’s obnoxious and loud and dramatic and YET people love him thank you very much. doesn’t know when to stop honestly someone kick his ass.
he’s been to school everywhere, studying abroad for high school, doing a year in england, a year at julliard and finally amsterdam, i’m just going to say he’s been here for 3 years and he’s going to graduate next semester.
he’s a performance/composition major and the LEAD of the orchestra because he’s just that talented that vivaldi is shaking in his grave. a prodigy if you will because it’s not the only instrument he can play but his favorite.
he comes from a home of socialites back in busan, his family dabbles in the arts. his family also decided his fate: arranged marriage. it’s a secret though, only haebin and haneul know about it.
cue why he’s part of the squad, he went through people so fast, indulging himself in variety knowing that after he graduates he’ll be tied down and he hates the very idea of it. which is why he’s an ass and wont accept that he maybe really likes misun more than a hook-up, also the reason why he’s BEEN OUT OF THE GAME that the lads are noticing lmao
anyways he’s a disaster but he loves his friends so much he just wants to Protecc
Tumblr media
(kwon jiyong, he/him, bisexual)  HEY, ISN'T THAT [AHN DAEHYUN], THE [TWENTY-FIVE] YEAR OLD [CISMALE] FROM [SOUTH KOREA]? YEAH, I HEARD THEY'RE THE [ENT. BUSINESS] STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM  NOW! LET'S HOPE THEIR STAY HERE IS AN ADVENTUROUS ONE! (dani, 20, she/her, pst)
he is the mom friend probably idk he’s always dd when the lads go out and does a run down of who’s where and if they’re ok before calling it a night when they go out
he doesn’t party often, it’s honestly rare for him to go ALL OUT unless he knows he can handle it and he’s with minji who knows about his chronic fatigue syndrome
it’s back and forth, getting rest doesn’t help him at all and so he’s taken up dancing as a hobby again, just one class where he can a good amount of exercise without stressing himself too much when he has too much on his plate
he’s all good now though, it’s part of him but it wasn’t as bad as when he used to be a trainee; daehyun was gonna become an idol if it weren’t for his health issues.
he moved to cali for a while to go to school there and check out an american industry but decided that entertainment business might be better for him, less stressful and he gets to manage and help people who wish to be part of it.
anyways he sounds like a monotone dad when he texts but in person he’s more into conversations, a good time, and he really loves the lads.
he’s also lowkey dating taemin’s sister but no one knows that lol.
Tumblr media
(kim minseok, he/him, homosexual)  HEY, ISN'T THAT [CHOI JISOO], THE [TWENTY-THREE] YEAR OLD [CISMALE] FROM [THE US]? YEAH, I HEARD THEY'RE THE [PERFORMANCE] STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM  NOW! LET'S HOPE THEIR STAY HERE IS AN ADVENTUROUS ONE! (dani, 20, she/her, pst)
BOY, JISOO PROBABLY IS MY ONLY CHAR WITH A WILDT BACKGROUND
he’s from san francisco, ca. comes from a wealthy family, his dad was the ceo and founder of a large company ( dont ask me abt what yet tbh i’m thinking about it ); however the company only became big because they launder money. maybe deal with extortion but you know.
jisoo had it all though, he had the luxuries, he had the city, the parties, everything. only child, he was next in line to take over and actually? he didn’t mind at all if he kept living the way he was, and bonus points? his dad didn’t give a fuck about his sexuality. it was a dream.
until his crazy ass mom destroyed everything. she killed his dad but was found innocent in court because she bought the judge, and the jury? all hired by her. he was in that very courtroom when she was found innocent and before he knew it, he was being dragged out by his dad’s old lawyer and best friend. he needed to get out of there fast.
jisoo is the only one who’s allowed to touch his inheritance, his dad made it very clear that everything was to go to him. his mother still had a joint account and she still has enough to live off until she’s dying from old age but her new boy toy, 10 years younger than her kinda wants the company.
jisoo knows his mom killed his dad, he doesn’t have the evidence but he’s going to bring her down through the law or without the law because she took everything from him and he’s still reeling over it, he still has nightmares of finding his dad’s body.
and also, choi jisoo is an alias. no one knows his real name. (lol not even me, i’ll get back to you on that).
he’s in witness protection right now, undercover as a student from florida. he figured he might as well take some fun classes aka acting, dance, and studio arts. he doesn’t care for it knowing his life is set out but might as well.
Tumblr media
(kim namjoon, he/him, bisexual)  HEY, ISN'T THAT  [ZANDER YU]? YEAH, THE [TWENTY-FOUR] YEAR OLD [CISMALE] FROM [THE US]! YEAH, I HEARD THEY'RE THE [PHOTOGRAPHY] STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM  NOW! LET'S HOPE THEIR STAY HERE IS AN ADVENTUROUS ONE! (dani, 20, she/her, pst)
well, well, well if it isn’t the jack kerouac wanna-be. jk. he’s really not a bad person. maybe.
zander is a photographer, never staying in one place too long. he actually just arrived from mexico city and amsterdam is going to be the place he finishes his second degree.
he’s basically that indie boy from all the coming-of-age films, an enigma if you will. simply because they way he presents himself is charming, fun, friendly. he’s the type of guy you get a crush on just because of how attentive he is, how he makes you feel so interesting, how he looks at you and touches you. and he knows it.
he can read people’s emotions, he knows exactly how someone will feel before they feel it simply because of logic and tactic.
he’s incredibly smart, pretentious even but that’s part of the charm. he talks about music, books, movies. his travels. he makes people fall for him because it’s fun, it sends a rush through him knowing someone is willing to do anything for him and then...he’s gone. because he can’t do the same for you, he doesn’t feel anything for anyone. he likes the concept of being with someone, idolizing them and then leaving them and he does it in a way that you can’t really point your finger at him and blame him.
he’s really good at pretending to be someone he’s not tbh. like i want to emphasize that because i want to play him in a way that you really fall for it you know. anyways YEAH.
Tumblr media
(josefine frida pettersen, she/her, pansexual)  HEY, ISN'T THAT  [LEONIE SCHÄFER]? YEAH, THE [TWENTY-ONE] YEAR OLD [CISFEMALE] FROM [GERMANY]! YEAH, I HEARD THEY'RE THE [SOCIOLOGY] STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM  NOW! LET'S HOPE THEIR STAY HERE IS AN ADVENTUROUS ONE! (dani, twenty, she/her, pst)
remember what i said abt a drunk josefine fc who ends up ranting abt how toxic capitalism is and why communism isn’t the answer like all those tumblr folk like to say? WELL HERE SHE IS
she’s not a drunk lmao but if she’s at family dinners with the conservative side of her family, she GOES OFF she probably wouldnt go off at parties here unless she bumped into some asshole who wanted to mansplain something to her or whatever
she’s no poli-sci major, she takes a class but it’s only for her to get educated and accumulate more knowledge to back her up in her actual major and just to be prepared for arguments
i hate to say this bc wow cliche ! but....definitely noora vibes akhkjh i’m SORRY
she really enjoys going to the weed cafes though, catch her in there with a book just enjoying her free time
she has an accent !! considering english is her third language and french is secondl german obviously being the first. it’s cute rlly i was watching accent videos akljdhfj
still shes fluent in all three because it’s leonie why not
her aesthetic would probably be better described by donna tartt but i’ll give it a go: cigarettes in her own special metallic case, long coats, boots, very formal/casual, billie holiday records, period drama movies as well as empowering movies, beige/dark browns and black, the smell of coffee beans, aesthetic instagram
anyways uhh idk what else to add tbh if i think of anything i’ll mention it in the hc server on discord aklsjhdk
