Anyone who’s been on my blog knows I’m totally fine with people not agreeing with me, when it’s respectful, and we all keep in mind that we’re talking about boys racing cars, it’s not that serious. We don’t know them, it’s just entertainment, it’s just for fun. We can talk about whatever, we don’t have to agree.

But people taking things that drivers do personally, taking the sport personally, all that, it’s never going to sit right with me. And that’s not to say that everyone who comes on the blog has to agree with me or they can fuck off, not at all, but they do have to respect that that’s my opinion, or they shouldn’t be here. If they can’t have a rational, low stakes conversation where everyone is chill, then they’re really in the wrong place. Because I’m not going to get charge up about the dating lives of men I don’t know. I’m not going to start talking politics. I’m just not. That’s not what I’m about.

The anons made their points, I made my points, but the conversation was essentially concluded because neither of us were going to change opinions and they weren’t respectful of that fact.

The opinion, actually, was that I think it’s no one’s business who Lando Norris dates and that trolling a girl he is dating is weird behaviour.

It was never about defending Magui’s actions. It’s about recognising that the only person who has to worry about her actions is the person dating her.

It’s not about liking her or not liking her. I don’t know anything about her, actually. I picked up these stories about her behaviour third hand. People not liking her is totally valid. What’s not valid is thinking it’s okay to be going around on Twitter saying Lando shouldn’t date her. That crosses a line, in my opinion. I think it’s very weird, to be saying things like that about people you don’t know dating other people you don’t know.

That’s just how I see it. I never said that no one has a right to be offended by anything she’s done. I said that they should not engage with her content and leave it there.

That is my opinion. That is not going to change, regardless of who calls me racist, dumb, ignorant, or anything else. So yes, when it slipped into a fruitless bickering match, after repeatedly asking these people to leave me alone, I blocked them.
