Shera review part 2
Moving on from the actual show, let's talk about the crew involved with the show, including the voice actors.
I know I've been gone for a while but I was honestly just thinking about whether or not I should post more of my thoughts about things, but yeah let's talk about this...
Let's start with two of the problematic voice actors, the one who voices Adora and the one that voices Double Trouble.
Let's start with the latter, Jacob Tobia, well....they said the d slur more than once and also while I was still following them on twitter, I had the displeasure of seeing them thirst after multiple spanish fascists on my timeline 😐 that....was very much yikesy...
Now onto aimme carrero or whatever her name is, she unironically supported Biden earlier this year, before we all pretty much HAD to support him or else we'd be stuck with the cheeto bastard again. She thought that people asking her if she farts was some slang term as in....she thought fart was slang for something (???? somehow????) do in response clownery began again so I even joined in on it
Tumblr media
At one point someone made a meme, which was in the format of the "'When the race war starts and I have to kill Tony Hawk' with the picture of a little kid crying to symbolise the person does not want to take him down whatsoever' but they did the meme with her instead of hawk and replaced race war with something about wealth. She thought this was somehow a threat so she had her followers AND husband literally attack and harass this person for like a day or two, which holy shit, this was a very shitty thing to do to someone who was a fan of you up until this moment.
The fandom and the rest of the crew let all of this slide tho.
Meanwhile let's move on to the crew. I feel like they definitely went through the whole crunch time thing when making the show since the show was already finished by the time it's release or after either season 2 or 3. Also wtf was up with the whole Sow thing being a inside joke ,huh? Is that the sort of jokes that happen when your crew is all nonblack? Anti-blackness and unchecked racism? Also the ableism is very much present with Entrapta who is autism coded, like the whole leash thing as a big example that was played as a haha funny moment thing 😐
Now onto the creator themselves, there's.....a lot with them honestly....they constantly shat on the OG Shera although they never saw the original in the first place, making oblivious fans also blindly hate on the original 80s show, which was only made to promote a bunch of toys if anyone didn't know, but the og show was funny af without trying, even at moments that weren't supposed to be funny, it was also just very entertaining in general. But I suppose I have a certain bias as I was the same kid that watched GI Joe stuff, Both iterations of He-man and chunks of Shera in my childhood.
Back to the creator it seems there's certainly some unresolved mother issues and toxic relationship problems, which are both VERY MUCH present in the show. Noelle tries their best to make that toxic relationship seem perfectly normal and fine as catradora is supposed to portray their own relationship after all. Speaking of Noelle's relationship and how toxic it is, if you read their book/biography thing talking about their life, it details how their wife consistently and very blatantly cheated on them with SEVERAL men in their own home, even sleeping with these men in their own bedroom while Noelle was forced to sleep on the couch, even when side by side they talk in this book about how their wife would be blatantly TEXTING these men right beside her too, yet despite all the blatant and obvious unfaithfulness, disloyalty and toxicity, they decided to still stay together and get married. Since Noelle said that catradora represents their own relationship, I wonder which of them was Adora and which was Catra🤔
Moving from that that there's also the issue of them constantly doing the JK Rowling thing and just making up a bunch of post canon stuff after the show ended. Like Catra and scorpia apparently had a brief relationship in that desert place, which among other things, I refuse to believe is canon, they should have actually shown off this stuff into the show instead of just being like "oh yeah, here's more stuff actually " after the end. There's also the whole fankid thing which just....I hate it, it makes no sense and also the character is just fucking ugly to me and I honestly felt the urge to redesign everything about 'em. There's also the issue of the whole Catra being latina coded which is honestly an issue in itself because it feels so....stereotypy? And saying something about flat earth and one of the characters which doesn't make sense because earth doesn't even exist in their world anyways, and if it does that was NEVER elaborated on nor even hinted at.
There's honestly a lot wrong when it comes to this show, so I'll be making a part 3 next time, so yeah...

Crewra really had a fucking whole ass country nigga named Sow as some sort of "inside joke". Like y'all are a bunch of fucking white people, y'all had NO REASON for this being your little inside joke in the first place. I feel like this kinda goes to show how casual antiblackness can be with no poc part of your team. :/
Damn the caucasity they had.

She ra review part 1
I know this isn't anime, but this show and how horrendous the writing got has honestly bugged me to no end.
SheRa 2018 is a "reboot" of the 80s SheRa, though I wouldn't even call it reboot considering the creator trashed the original constantly and also never even watched the original show in the first place. The only thing this "reboot" has in common is that it uses the names of the characters from the original and that's it. The show is basically a fucking fanfiction labelled under original work outside of that essentially.
Going into the actual show topic.
----
I started this show pretty much a year or 2 late, basically just waiting for all the drama to die down from the annoying reactionary communities. When starting out, I REALLY wanted to like the show, and honestly, I was enjoying it back then. Unfortunately, as episodes went by I started enjoying it less, ESPECIALLY in season 5 where everything had officially gone to shit.
The writing for this show is honestly fucking awful, they had many great ideas but either these were executed badly, or they didn't go completely through with it. There's also a lot of stuff that didn't make sense. Like when it comes to the princesses, elements, and their runestones. The elemental princesses are all able to do that rainbow power thing that I forgot the name of, yet some princesses that actual have a power that is elemental(*coughs*spinerella*coughs*) aren't able to be included in this. Glimmer which doesn't even use an elemental power can be included, but Spinerella, who literally uses wind, a fucking elemental, can't be included?? That sure doesn't make sense. This show also has a problem with further elaborating on things.
Though they did a REALLY good job with the writing of Shadow Weaver, she is a VERY complex character and you can truely tell the writers put alot of their effort into her. If you're not some fucking catradora stan that just immediately hates her character just because she abused your fave, than you'd definitely agree.
-----
Going into the characters themselves.
Adora
She's very bland for a main character and Im honestly not a fan of her design. Why is she shaped like one of those bugs from the ants movie when she was a soldier that constantly trained since childhood? She should have muscle of some kind, and that goes for everyone else in the horde minus Rogelio, Scorpia, and Huntara who was a former horde member.
Catra
I really....really don't like catra, she reminds me of 4 different goals I knew....if they all merged into one person... Catra is a selfish, manipulative, and very unstable character. She had SO many opportunities throughout this show, literally since the first season to just join the good side Adora is now on. Catra, unlike Adora was very much aware that the horde was evil since day one, yet when offered the chance MULTIPLE times to join the good side, she refuses, but is still VERY adamant on stalking Adora, and constantly trying to kill her. Season 5 was especially awful, she literally got worse and worse overtime until this season and in season 4 was willing to commit mass murder(or would it be mass genocide?) all because of Adora, just to spite her. I see many catra stans trying to say catra's redemption arc was better than Zuko's when um, no? It wasn't. Unlike catra, Zuko didn't have multiple chances to better herself and join the good side automatically. Zuko, from what I remember, couldn't just immediately drop everything and join the good side. He was a prince of the fire kingdom who was stuck under his father's command and he actively had to work to better himself throughout MULTIPLE seasons before he could join the good side and gain people's trust. Meanwhile Catra had multiple chances since literally day one to better herself and go to the good side, yet she just wanted to be an asshole, attempt to kill everyone, abuse others, and overly obsess over, stalk, and literally murder Adora on multiple occasions. Literal toxic relationship, but that didn't matter as long as it was catradora end game.
Bow
I actually have no problem with him, he's a nice support character. The only annoying thing is that his abs are constantly showing no matter what he's wearing, except for the one time when he was trying to hide his real self when we first meet his dads.
Glimmer
I didn't like this girl either. I hated the way she treated her mother. She just seems spoiled and whiny and way too quick to do things without an ounce of thought. The way she treated her mom most of the time was just completely unnecessary. Like dayum bitch, she just doesn't want to lose the only other family she has left. As someone with mother issues and does not have a mother, Glimmer had literally no reason to be that fucking rude to her mother, her mother just cares about her well being, safety, and overall existence, unlike mine.
Shadow Weaver/Light Spinner
Excellent character, very well written, bonus points for having a hot voice and having big milf energy. She was the horde kids caretaker and trainer from what it seemed. She has a lot of layers to her. If you look more into her character you see that she actually does care about people around her, she just could be emotionally stunted. She was kinda both selfless and selfish. She had this whole obsession with gaining power which she had even as light spinner, which definitely hints at her family maybe being disappointed in her for being powerless or something along those lines. She even shows signs of having been abused herself, but unfortunately continued this cycle of abuse on Catra and Adora specifically. Shadow Weaver had many goals that involved Adora specifically and she was willing to hurt others in order to finish this goal. Even as Light Spinner this was prominent as she was willing to help save the universe even if it ended up harming herself or others around her in the process. She wasn't just some cruel old woman, but a very complex woman that had a lot of baggage. Sucks that they ended up killing her, I wish she got her own redemption because her story definitely had a lot of potential to be great. It would've been cool to see her try to better herself out of her own willingness, repent for the shit she'd done, maybe a childhood backstory to understand her better, and she tries to apologize to those she used and abused and it doesn't in any way involve having to accept her apology. I just think Shadow Weaver was a neat character.
Hordak
The mindcontrolling is not an excuse for how fucking shitty he is, he became a fucking a war criminal and coloniser out of his own free will. The fandom seems to think that shadow Weaver had done everything wrong, but look at hordak like "uwu my sweet cinnamon roll". Hordak literally colonised kingdoms, kidnapped infants and young children, most likely imprisoned and/or killed those babies parents/other family members, tried to take over the whole world, and other actual war crimes, but he got a pass to walk off into the sunset because he had feelings for someone, and his big bro was mean to him when he was in the cult. Don't come at me with the 'buts' you have, wrong hordak didnt do any of the bs our hordak did when he was no longer under mind control.
----
I think I'm done for now. It's 1am now. I'm gonna just stop here and continue with more at some point.

Welp it happened, the coffin has officially been hammered closed on both Kissanime AND Kissmanga. So now I guess is a good time to say this: if you used those two sites as your primary source/only source for watching anime, here's a few sites.
Gogoanime, 9anime, and animepahe, though I prefer animepahe due to no lag issues when watching in a higher quality, plus no false sites faking as the original site, like with the two aforementioned sites.
For manga readers who were using Kissmanga, I'd go to Mangadex or mangago, I use both since mangago sometimes doesn't have everything.
But ye those are a few sites I'd recommend checking out.

Though I made this account for anime reviews, I REALLY have some shit I wanna say about the 2018 reboot of Shera. I really wanna get it all off my chest because a lot of it was stuff I had issues with for the longest time, like with both the show in fanbase in general. I know for a fact that the review will be extremely long since I’m thinking about talking about more than just the show, so I may just type it all out in Google Docs since it has auto save and debate on whether I should post here or not.

Hellsing Ultimate (2012)
Tumblr media
Well, I’m finally back with another review guys! It’s been a while! Back at it with another Hellsing review, but this time with the adaption that follows much closer to the manga.
As summarized in the review of the original, Hellsing is a british occult organization that specializes with the extermination of feral/rogue vampires that cause trouble for people. The story follows 3 protagonists, Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, the head of the Hellsing organization and master of Alucard, Seras Victoria, who is a newly made vampire that was turned by Alucard, and Alucard the vampire made to exterminate those that stand in his and his master’s way.
I watched this anime 2-3 years after it came out, and rewatched it all again via Toonami on [Adult Swim]. I became much more obsessed than I was before with Hellsing after this.
------------------------
The show overall is honestly 9/10. Would be a 10/10 if they had an anime opening, specifically the one they used in the 2001 adaption.
The episodes are all an hour long at most for all 10 episodes, and surprisingly at kept all of my attention, despite my attention literally being that of a goldfish’s, as seen by the fact that I started watching One Piece 7-8+ years ago and am just now getting to episode 302.
---------------------------
Music: 8/10 It was pretty epic and really set the tone, still wish the anime had an opening tho.
------------------------------
Story: 8/10 This storyline was pretty cool, had me on the edge of my seat, kinda wish that they didn’t force in comedic moments, imo it felt kinda tryhard and displaced most of the time. Also wish that I didn’t have to watch Seras being molested as “comedic” tones by some zombie-like people and by that creepy looking vamp guy a minute before Alucard actually decided to do something. I know that the author of Hellsing was a hentai artist in the 90s, but cmon.....you didn’t have to show all that, I don’t even think the 2001 did any of the molesty shit even to THAT extent. These scenes lasted for like 20 to 30 seconds while the 2001 molest scenes were not even close to that long. With how long that scene was my grandparents could’ve walked during any of those seconds and I would have the worst time trying to explain that shit while also running the risk of being kicked out or being called homophobic slurs every single day of my life until I was old enough to leave. Anyways I also didn’t like Pip either, dude was a fucking creep, plus he was the protag in one of the author’s 90s hentai series so.... :\\
-------------------
Characters: Overall 8/10
Integra: 10/10 I am gay and I like a woman that can easily dominate me with just her voice alone. Am I considered a milf hunter if I have a streak of thinking that older anti hero/evil women are hot? ‘cause I think that Integra even at 52 years of age can get it ngl.
Seras: 8/10 She cute but can easily kill with no problem if she goes completely ape shit. ngl I kinda liked feral Seras tho, something in me definitely awakened at the sight of her and Integra.
Alucard:5/10 I was really annoyed that the series gave him the most screen time tbh. He’s kind of an asshole and overrated imo, tho this could be just because I’m not straight so I don’t see the appeal that others had in him whatsoever.
Walter: 7/10 ngl it hurted when he went to the n*zi side near the end of the series and then he fucking died. He was the real mvp and also a wise old guy.
Pip: 1/10 Didn’t like him whatsoever, didn’t find him funny whatsoever. He was just a plot device anyways and was also used for dumb het romance for Seras to have motivation to go ape shit and yeet Zorin’s face out of existence.
Can’t rate the Millenium characters since this would be a Stroheim from Jojo situation where you like them but at the same time they’re willingly a n*zi so.....
--------------------
Dub or Sub???
Dub for sure with this one as well, just like the 2001 adaption. As said in the 2001 review, the voices just fit MUCH better here unlike the Japanese VAs.
----------------------
Ending: imo it was pretty good. It made since that Integra didn’t end up having an heir, not only because of the sheer lesbian energy she radiates, but because it would seem somewhat OOC for her to do that. It makes total since that Integra would just let the Hellsing oraganization die with her. Don’t know how the manga ended tho since I still have to read it.
---------------------
Anyways, that’s all for now! Peace!

Elfen Lied (2004)
Tumblr media
Elfen Lied is probably the first gore anime I saw when getting into anime at the age of 9-10. And I say probably because I watched Barefoot Gen when I was extremely young. At the time I watched this anime in it’s full, and not just clips on YT, it wasn’t THAT old yet, since it was only 6-7 years old at that point. I discovered the clips when I was a few years younger, I don’t even think YT had much of a copyright thing in place yet.
Summary: Elfen Lied is about a race of humanoid species called Diclonius. They are known to bare horns and a sixth sense that gives them telekinetic abilities. The Government saw this as dangerous so they sought out to find, capture, and isolate all of the Diclonius species. The main character of this story is Lucy, a young Diclonius girl who manages to escape from this government facility, but not without a shot to the head. Though she survives, she ends up falling into a nearby ocean while luckily managing to drift onto a beach where conveniently, two teens, Kouta and Yuka, find her. Unfortunately, due to this blow, she has temporary amnesia, and the only word she can say is “Nyuu”. Though it seems that it is memory loss, Lucy is still in there somewhere.
Let’s get to the review!
This anime is EXTREMELY gorey, rip and tear all around, the first time I watched it, I literally almost threw up all over myself. After finishing the anime the first time, I decided to go back and rewatch on at least 2 occasions. I can say with 100% certainty that this is definitely not for the faint of heart and all in all, anyone who can’t stand extreme amounts of gore. I mentioned in the summary that Diclonius have telekinetic abilities, and well the way the few Diclonius in this series use it is literally to rip and tear. Their abilities manifest as a bunch of vaguely invisible white hands, a Diclonius can see them clearly, but regular human beings cannot, this ability is quite literally invisible to them. Though lucky for humans, these invisible hands have a stretch limit and can only go so far depending on how strong the Diclonius is. If a human or other Dicloni move far enough away from the attacking Dicloni, they could potentially avoid the subsequent ripping and tearing.
Though if your a fan of rip and tear gore, I’d say go ahead and watch this anime.
--------------------
Storyline: 5/10
The storyline wasn’t really all that clear from what I remember. It was just an anime showcasing gorey messes for shock values and such. I’ve never read the 2002 manga despite having more than enough time, so I’m unclear on what the story is actually ‘supposed’ to be.
----------------------
Characters:
Lucy/Nyuu: 7/10 I have empathy for her for how she had to grow up. It’s understandable why she would grow to have hatred for human beings especially those that are violent towards her. Though she didn’t have to do Nana like that.
Kouta: 4/10 Fucking hate this kid, he’s a whiny dude, he’s Lucy’s love interest of course, and he is of course subsequently caught in a love triangle with Lucy and his own cousin(yes, you read that correctly)(no, I have not gotten over that)
Yuka: -100/10 Kouta’s cousin. She’s on that Mississippi incest type beat. Annoying character who wants Kouta to pay attention to her and only her, mad when he looks at anyone else. Like bro, that’s your fucking cousin, you’re both related by blood, stop that weird shit. Really hoped she would get killed by Lucy, but that....didn’t happen.
---------------------------
Music: 10/10 I really like it, to this day even.
-----------------------------
Dub or Sub?
Either is good. I’ve watched in both dub and sub an even number of times. The voices some very similar to each other in both versions, so I didn’t have an issue with either.
-------------------------------
Anyways, that was all I have for this review, so peace out

Review of Hellsing (2001)
Tumblr media
Hellsing is a supernatural horror seinen series by Kouta Hirano, who came up with Hellsing in the late 90s. This version of Hellsing was the first out of 2(3 if you can’t the unfinished OVA) adaption series of the manga.
Summary: Hellsing’s story revolves around three main character, Sir Integra Hellsing, Alucard, and Seras Victoria. Hellsing is an organization that deals with incidents of the occult nature and is currently run by the late Arthur Hellsing’s daughter, Integra. Hellsing mostly deals with vampires, so they fight those vampires with vampires. In this adaption you follow the main crew as they deal with this vampire problem.
Anyways, let’s get on with this review!
Now there’s a lot that can be said about the 2001 adaption, many people that have seen it, sorta hate it because it goes against the source material halfway through, but I for one don’t like it but I don’t hate it either. I’m sorta on the neutral side of things.
I was fairly young when I watched this adaption, maybe around 12 or 13 considering I watched this series around 2013 or 2014. I’m not gonna complain about the filler considering that this series came out in 2001 and the manga had just started in 1997 and didn’t end until 2008. GONZO had no choice but to come up with SOMETHING to fill the rest of the show as they only had 13 episodes to do whatever. It’s no surprise that GONZO couldn’t stick to source material, and it shouldn’t be.
My overall rating of the show is 6/10, just ‘cause I didn’t want to see some vampire chick bite Integra’s nipple to prove to some dense ass people in the audience that Integra is indeed a woman.
Characters: 7/10 Alucard was still pretty cool, but Integra, my darling wife, what did they do to you? Seras’ character was handled pretty well though.
Music: Logos naki world SLAPS even if I have no clue what the FUCK they are saying. Score: SourPls/10
Random Info Dump: All the characters except for Integra have all appeared in hentai made by the creator pre Hellsing and unfortunately, but not surprisingly, bad things happen to Seras in them and I cannot unsee.
Another Info Dump: Did I mention that there’s some inspiration from Bram Stoker’s Dracula in all Hellsing media ‘cause that’s most definitely thereto some degree.
English sub or dub?
Oh, dub for sure on this one chief. I HATED the japanese voices given to the characters when I heard them all speak. So I switched over to dub, the voices given for the character were WAY more fitting. The only thing you’d be missing out on by watching the dub instead of sub is Father Anderson’s japanese voice actor speaking in english and most people finding it hilarious.
----------------
All in all, I do recommend you check out all media of Hellsing, and I do recommend you watch this despite everything, so you can form your own opinion over this and Hellsing Ultimate.
So yeah, that’s that on this review.

Review of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt(2010)
Tumblr media
Summary: PASWG is an anime centered around these two angels, Panty and Stocking Anarchy, and a priest named Garterbelt. The dilemma the Anarchy sisters face is that....well....they were kicked out of heaven because 1. Panty is horny on main, and 2. Stocking is an extreme glutton. They land in Daten City, where they are presented with the task of exterminating spirits. The spirits drop heaven coins when killed, so the Anarchy sisters have to collect a certain amount of these heaven coins so they can get back to heaven. Oh, and there’s also stripping scenes every time they transform, so this had the repressed baby gay in me panicking the first time I saw it.
Now onto the review!
How the fuck did I find an anime like this??/
Well at the time, PASWG was still fairly new. I think I discovered it, not long after the release. From what I remember I came across the “DIETO!?!?” scene at the time where it had essentially become of meme status. After this I came across more scenes from the show and 10 yo me was basically like, “I GOTTA watch this”. So I did, through YouTube once more ‘cause I was an OG anime watcher, we all had to watch anime episodes in parts back then.
----------------
Japanese vs English dub
Ight I’m doing this early this time, since it’s kinda essential with this sort of anime.
Japanese dub pros
-You get the memes, and the full phrase said when the demon sisters transform, and that’s about it
-RRRRRRRRRRules!
cons
-When watching the japanese dub, most of the jokes WILL fly over your head because you’re either focusing on reading the subtitles, and because many places have a different sort of humor from each other.
I first watched this in japanese with eng. subs, I didn’t quite get the jokes at all, not just because I was still a child, but because it just wasn’t funny to me. After 3 episodes I switched over to the english dub, I found that shit funny as FUCK. At one point that shit had me W H E E Z I N G.
I suggest watching the anime in your native language since it’s less likely the jokes will fall flat, and because verbal jokes, to me, didn’t translate well at all too well. Eventually, I did watch the anime in both languages, but here, the english dub was superior, and that’s coming from someone who usually NEVER watches english dubs.
--------------------
Characters
7/10
Honestly, the only one I didn’t really like was Briefs, he literally was just simping for Panty the entire time until Panty found out he was attractive and decided to fuck him literally. At the end of the anime, he was apparently essential because his dick in particular was the literal key to heaven....for some reason....
Aside from that, I fucking LOVED the demon sisters, both because they were hot, and because I liked their character. My brain even now is immediately just like: Demon girls.....HOT, when I look at them. I specifically love Kneesocks out of all the characters tho for multiple reasons....speaking of Kneesocks, she was also ranked #2 as a fan favorite at the time this anime was released.
Before the demon sisters made their appearance though......Stocking was my favorite, she was just WAY too relatable. She was the original big tittied goth girl everyone wanted to date. Also her popularity prolly heightened even more with how Gainax decided to end the series.
Panty is a bitch sometimes but I like her, though if she were a human and not an angel, she would DEFINITELY have every fucking STD in the world tbh.
Garterbelt......is a very questionable dude to put things mildly....
Chuck is chuck. I like Chuck. 10/10 best dog. Reminds me of Gir from Invader Zim, pretty sure he’s based of Gir tho.
The ghost things, I still liked them more them Breif...well....except for the vomit ghost and the shit ghost after all. That shit was gross, no pun intended.
-------------
Music
10/10
Music like the Anarchy sisters’ “Fly Away” transformation theme, and Demon sisters’ “I want You” transformation theme and “D. City Rock” was done by Teddyloid! You may recognize his name for he did the music for the anime music video, ME!ME!ME!
-----------
The Ending
What the fuck was that?/10
Seriously Gainax, what? What the fuck did you leave us on a cliffhanger for??? Just to make us suffer???? Nobody asked for that, and now y’all have been making us wait for a season 2 for more than a decade. :(
At least there’s a PASWG cafe....even tho most of us can’t go to it ‘cause we’re too poor to be able to go to and from Japan.
--------------
Is it worth watching even with the cliffhanger?
Hell yes! This anime is a classic! Now would be the best time to watch it too since we’re all isolated rn! There’s only 12 episodes (excluding OVAs of course), this is probably the funniest shit I’d ever seen in terms of vulgar humor, the 1st 2-3 episodes are rocky at first but I promise it will grow on you in such a weird way.
Plus if Gainax does decide to revive it sooner or later, at least y’all who watch it now wouldn’t have to suffer as much as us others have had to!
That’s it for this review, peace out

Review of Beastars Season 1 (2019)
Tumblr media
Beastars ia an anime that many people have at the least heard the name of because it was heavily talked about during it’s time of airing. Many compare it to Zootopia.
Here’s a synopsis from MAL:
“In a civilized society of anthropomorphic animals, an uneasy tension exists between carnivores and herbivores. At Cherryton Academy, this mutual distrust peaks after a predation incident results in the death of Tem, an alpaca in the school’s drama club. Tem’s friend Legoshi, a grey wolf in the stage crew, has been an object of fear and suspicion for his whole life. In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, he continues to lay low and hide his menacing traits, much to the disapproval of Louis, a red deer and the domineering star actor of the drama club. When Louis sneaks into the auditorium to train Tem’s replacement for an upcoming play, he assigns Legoshi to lookout duty. That very night, Legoshi has a fateful encounter with Haru, a white dwarf rabbit scorned by her peers. His growing feelings for Haru, complicated by his predatory instincts, force him to confront his own true nature, the circumstances surrounding the death of his friend, and the undercurrent of violence plaguing the world around him.”

I will try not to spoil too much about this since it WAS a Netflix anime, therefore during it’s time of airing, you would either have had to pirate when it aired or use a vpn to watch japanese Netflix. I had to pirate this anime over on animepahe and gogoanime….
Anyways, Beastars may look like a furry anime, but it has MUCH more layers underneath than anyone may think.
Let’s get started.
youtube
Lets start with the opening, upon watching it, you come to realize that there most definitely is some much darker elements in this anime, than those memes you may have seen on Twitter or this site perhaps. Not only is the song good, but the animation sequences in this OP are also very well done, and from what I’ve heard, Beastars is the first anime to use fully stop motion animation with anthropomorphic characters. Oh, and the song is Wild Side by ALI, don’t search for the music video, the audio in it was actually kind of awful and sounded like it was performed at a concert, search for a video edit that makes it actually sound ‘official’ if you want to hear the whole song.
———
Characters: Our main, main character is Legoshi, a grey wolf who struggles with the ‘wild side’ of himself unlike many of his carnivore peers who may embrace it to some extent. His character is 10/10 he’s my son despite everything that has happened. :)
Our other main characters to this story are Louis and Haru, a deer and a rabbit, lets just say, there’s much more to them and the way they are than what it seems and you will realize this once you get farther into the anime or manga, though manga does give more depth about them.
———-
Story/worldbuilding: The world of Beastars is to say the least, very intriguing to me, and the story is very interesting, and never left me bored. This is probably one of the few anime where I was genuinely curious about how things worked in the world.
———–
Manga or Anime?: I’d say watch the anime, then read the manga. The anime follows closely to the manga, however it does still leave many things out. I’d say after watching the anime, read the manga, you’ll spot many differences right away like some stuff with Tem that was left out in the anime, for example. Oh, that reminds me, I actually read the beginning chapters of Beastars when the manga came out I was like 14 at that time, but skipped out on it to read The Promised Neverland instead.
——–
Animation: This entire anime is actually in 3D though many may look at it at first and think it’s 2D. The animation is very smooth 10/10
Backstories: 10/10 It’s all just…..wild….
——-
Have I recommended that people that haven’t watched this, should definitely watch or read this??? ‘Cause y’all……it’s fucking crazy…y’all should definitely use the 3 episode rule and at least deep your toes into it.

Review of Strawberry Panic!(2006)
Tumblr media
Summary: Strawberry Panic is a yuri drama anime that focuses around a girl named Aoi Nagisa. Nagisa gets transferred to one of the three all girls Catholic schools on Astraea Hill called St. Miators Girls’ Academy. Not long after transferring, Nagisa, our protagonist, finds herself struggling to fit in. Meanwhile, the love interest, Shizuma Hanazono, the sole Etoile of Astraea Hill, finds herself becoming drawn to Nagisa but still struggles with her troubled past.
Let’s begin the review.
Around 2011 or 2012, 10-11 year old me started exploring anime outside of shounen and me, being a gayby at the time, the yuri genre was the one that interested me. I ended up finding a list of yuri anime and Strawberry Panic was the first one on the list. During my search for Strawberry Panic, I discovered that it also had a manga which I read a few bits of before watching the anime, unfortunately, the manga has been discontinued for years now. After that, I once again, ended up watching the anime episodes in scattered parts on YouTube. After the end of it all, it was pretty good. Good enough for me to rewatch another few times.
Story: 9/10 I don’t think there was any part in the anime that actually made me bored. ngl that flashback showing Shizuma’s 1st love got to me and made me cry a little bit.
Gayness: 10/10 I don’t think there was a single character in the entire show that wasn’t gay.
Music: 10/10 This was anime from the mid 2000s, for it’s time, it was pretty good music and it set the tone in all the right places.
Characters: 7/10 I liked all of the characters, however at times they could be a bit on the annoying and frustrating side.
Ending: 8/10 Just because to this day, I still feel that Nagisa should’ve been with Tamao and Shizuma should’ve been with Miyuki. Miyuki quite literally was the only character by the end of the series that really didn’t get some sort of good ending. 6 episodes before the ending, she gets full on kissed by the person she has feelings for, Shizuma, and Shizuma, not knowing how Miyuki actually felt about her just decided to go “lol jk” and leave Miyuki crying in a corner. Also she’s in an arranged marraige with a man she doesn’t even know and doesn’t want to be with because she’s GAY.
At least we still have fanfics tho, like the one where both Miyuki and the husband are gay , and the one where Shizuma cucks the husband behind his back. Those are always entertaining to read.
----
Overall this anime was REALLY good. I was there for the yuri but stayed for all the drama. This anime still to this day, is probably one of the BEST introductions into the yuri genre of anime. And that’s that on that. This is basically a must watch if you enter yuri genre of anime, and if you’ve been watching anime of all genres for years, many anime veterans would be surprised if you HAVEN’T seen this anime considering it’s pretty infamous in the older parts of the anime community.

Review of Soul Eater(2008)
Tumblr media
Soul Eater is an anime/manga by Atsushi Okubo. The manga started in 2004 and ended in 2013 and the anime ran from 2008-2009 with a total of 51 episodes.
Summary(in my words): Soul Eater is anime that revolves around 7 students that go to DWMA, a school in Death City, Nevada, USA. DWMA is a school that weapons and meisters attend. Weapons are people that can turn into weapons (ie scythes, guns, swords) and meisters are those that can handle the weapon due to their soul wavelengths being compatible with each other. If a weapon devours the souls of 99 demons and one witch, they are able to become a Death Weapon, which proves proves to be difficult to achieve as we follow in the SE crew’s adventures.
Let’s get started with the review.
Ah,….2011…a time where it was just so, so, great to be a child. Everything was still so new around me, majority of sites hadn’t desolved into the clusterfucks they were yet. And YouTube wasn’t garbage yet. 9 yo me had just gotten their first laptop, which they’d gotten 2010 of Christmas day. I’d woken up very early in the cool morning and decided to just look around on YT a bit, there, I found it, the Soul Eater This Is Halloween AMV, and it was the original, and not one of the many reuploads that there are now. I watched it immediately fell in love just everything about it. I HAD to watch it. I searched up the show on YT and found episodes, some the entire episode, some divided the episode in parts. Wanna know what I felt?….
 PURE HYPE BOI!!!!!!
But 9 yo me had NO CLUE what a wild ride Soul Eater would be since this was their first time watching something they knew was anime, and not stuff I’d seen on TV like Dragon Ball, Yugioh, Beyblade, or Bakugan. Lemme just tell you it was indeed a wild ride, I became OBSESSED with Soul Eater. I memorized the OP Resonance, and my daily thing to do when I woke up? Go to the kitchen, grab a broom, go to dining room, start spinning broom around like Maka while yelling things like “Let’s go Soul Resonance!” or singing the opening theme…at 7 in the morning. I look back at that specific thing now and think, ‘wow my grandfather and uncle must have hated me for all that tbh’
Characters: 9/10 Probably would’ve been a 10/10 if I just didn’t despise Black Star as much as I did, looking back now, I think he was kinda okay as a character, I don’t him aaaaas much as I did as a kid.
But anyways here’s my reason for such a high score. The characters all had such distinct personalities, that just made them all seem so realistic, they act the way teenagers would in real life. There’s just something I love about that tbh.
Fanservice: The fanservice in this anime ngl made me realize I am very much gay. In the first episode, Blair had me like

And characters like Misune in her human form, and Medusa and Arachne I-
Tumblr media
Listen y’all, I rewatched Soul Eater 3 times, and my thoughts are still the same. I had the biggest thing for these 4 characters as a kid, and I as a whole adult now, would probably simp for them despite 2 of the being literal scum of the earth.
Music: 10 outta fucking/10 Literally ALL of the music in this anime was a fucking BOP, like have y’all heard So Scandelous, or either of Death the Kid’s themes??? To this day it’s still so GREAT! It just fits the anime SO WELL!
Backstories: 8/10 The  backstories are pretty great, and some, pretty fucking depressing. HOWEVER, the anime does NOT delve into much of it at all since it ended before the manga finished. Plus we have the Gorgon sisters whose pasts are not all that touched upon living mysteries like “who the hell is Crona’s father” and “where were the Gorgons before now” to be asked
Ending: [Everyone Disliked That]/10 Just know that the last few episodes were fillers, they ran out of source material due the fact that the manga hadn’t gotten to it’s closure yet. Though that’s not the problem here. The problem was how they executed the ending as a whole. There was all this intense fighting against Asura only for it all to be ended simply with Maka just punching him square in the face. Nothing more than that, then boom, basically show ends right there, Asura, dies from the blow of the punch or some shit, and everyone goes on with their lives.
Is the anime still worth watching regardless of the ending? Hard yes. Despite everything, the fillers actually served in making the series more enjoyable. I’d still recommend reading the manga as well since a lot more stuff happens and you’ll get the official closure which is MUCH better than the anime’s.
Quick Review:
Soul Eater NOT! (2014)
Tumblr media
Rating: 4/10
Th…There was no purpose to this. Nobody asked for this. I read the manga AND watched the anime in its entirety. I have absolutely no clue what the fuck this was supposed to be aside from a prequel to Soul Eater???
Basically it was just a yuri slice of life with some mediocre drama with a new gorgon sister that was never mentioned anywhere in the original series. The original kids from Soul Eater DO make an appearance but it’s not really at all significant…. The 3 main girls who I can’t really remember the name of except for one of them is named Meme are all mediocre, and were in some sort of love triangle(?) The only reason I even continued was through the pure power of gayness.  Everything was so….bland with this one….the characters seemed flat too….idk what happened but this definitely was NOT it….get it?? ahaha
This was genuinely a disappointment for everyone in the fandom. I remember the fandom started getting hyped over hearing about new Soul Eater stuff  but then this….turned out to be the result….

Yeah, so, hi! I’ve decided on making a new blog reviewing anime I’ve watched in the past + current. Yeah, I know, everyone does that nowadays, but I wanted to join in anyways. But what might be different is that I will give my opinions based on how past me interpreted everything vs present me’s opinion. Also adding dub vs sub and which I genuinely recommend in the mix. See y’all for my first review!
