this is my first astro observations post, so please be kind!
shout out to @faiirina and @cloudwaeve for helping me to develop some of these theories 💛
⟡ this might have been stated before, but the degree your sun sign is at could be the age at which you start to connect with it or the traits associated with it
for example, i have sagittarius sun at 19°. at nineteen years old, i went away from home on my own for the first time (travel). i also expanded my learning by going to college, and i delved deeper into spirituality.
⟡ taurus rules over the ears and second house, so it’s only natural placements relating to it could explain our hearing! your second house sign could explain how or why you like to listen to music.
i have virgo in the 2H and noticed that i like to listen to music with headphones because i can hear the intricacies of the instruments and harmonies better.
cancer 2H — likes listening to music that coincides with their emotions. might be more reserved when sharing their music tastes
scorpio 2H — could listen to indie/underground music. might like to listen to songs on low volume. the type to eavesdrop of conversations while listening.
aries 2H — prefers listening to their music over a speaker. the type to have a workout or hype playlist.
⟡ the planet right before your sun sign is called your guiding planet. this planet could explain what’s important to you in life or what “guides” you as a person.
i have pluto as my guiding planet and have always been fascinated by the idea of transformations. i look to transform myself regularly whether it’s through looks or even spiritually! i’m always searching for ways to become a better version of myself through this.
i may do a longer post explaining the effects of one’s guiding planet 👀
⟡ this isn’t inherently astrology related, but for every person i’ve asked - their favorite number and the number of letters they have in their name tends to line up
my favorite number is 3 — i have only 3 letters in my first and middle name
person two’s favorite number is 4 — their name has only 4 letters
person three’s favorite number is 16 - their first and last name adds up to 16
i’ve also discovered that this number tends to somewhat align with one’s north node or explain one’s life purpose or where in life you need to learn to deal with something.
again, my favorite number is 3, but my north node is in gemini in the 11H. the 3H deals with communication and according to my north node, i’m supposed to learn how to use my voice to both stand out in my uniqueness but also conform with society in order to speak for the collective.
⟡ the twelfth house governs what’s hidden - like emotions and beings without a physical form, so the sign in your twelfth house could explain how easy or difficult it is for you to pick up on energies.
i have cancer in my 12H along with jupiter, so it’s very easy for me to pick up on different energies; in fact, sometimes i attract different energies to my own without even knowing about it!
leo 12H — you may be more confident in when you pick up energies, so in a way it could be easier for you, but in a different way than for water signs. different energies may find it easy to speak with you or be around you
pisces 12H - this sign might find it the easiest ot pick up on different energies because it’s at home! you may pass your own energy onto others without knowing it. people may want to feed off your energy because of how intoxicating it might be - this could extend to scoprio 12H too
sagittarius 12H - you might have to actively search out energies when it comes to pick up on them, or maybe you just like to. they don’t really come to you naturally like with pisces.
⟡ i noticed aquarius suns tend to have intoxicating smiles.
think about it! yang jeongin from stray kids, hobi from bts, megan thee stallion, and j.cole. both jeongin and hobi have smiles that show throughout their whole face. megan thee stallion has had people talk about her smile all the time - it’s wide and stands out. j. cole literally has a song named “crooked smile” and although his smile doesn’t fit the societal standard of what considered “nice” it’s still unique to him.
⟡ arabic lots are so much more than just your part of fortune
there’s actually a whole list of lots that can be calculated through various combinations. i think i’ll do a post on this later on, but some of the most interesting lots i saw were:

again, there’s a ton more, but i don’t think they’re talked about much (at least not on here), so i’d like to learn more about them!
⟡ the third house deals with transportation, so the sign in your third house could represent how you are when traveling
i have libra in the 3H, and i tend to be laid back when it comes to the actual process of traveling. i wear hoodies and sweats, and i’m very low maintenance when going on a road trip or going on planes.
sagittarius 3H — the type to be like an excited puppy. is rushing everyone because of how excited they are. might be more inclined to ask others where they’re traveling as they sit and wait
capricorn 3H — might be a little more stuffy when it comes to traveling. keeps a tight schedule when leaving and going. could prefer to where business wear when traveling because that’s comfortable for them lol
leo 3H - not completely laksidisical, but also is to an extent. focused on making sure their outfit is perfect (you never know who you could meet on a plane, ya know?) may have everyone wait for them because they need to be sure they packed EVERYTHING
⟡ going back to arabic lots, there’s one called Spirit that i think better explains your own spirit as a person (like your personality and how you view life) rather than the actual asteroid Spirit, which i interpreted more so as your guides.
⟡ asteroid Aglaja (47) is named after one of the Greek charities - she rules over beauty splendor, glory, and magnificence. as a result, the asteroid could explain where you can find glory or explain your financial success during life
sagittarius — in another country/place different from your home town; could be lucky when it comes to finances; might even win the lottery
virgo — in a place of service, like a community center or non-profit organization; will indulge in the finer side of life - a focus on the arts
aries — in a leadership position or cut-throat industry; you may make and spend money quickly - likely water flowing through your hands
⟡ asteroid Kalliope (22) is named after another muse - one ruling over eloquence and epic poetry. this asteroid could give more insight into how you sound or how you use your words. look for aspects to mercury for even more information!
cancer — utilizing emotion to get your point across; could be more passive when speaking; people may find it hard to hear you
libra — again, could be more passive; tries to make everything agreeable; tries to uplift others; a firm and encouraging voice
scoprio — could be less inclined to talk, but people listen when you do; you use your words to offer insight or point out something important
⟡ in my opinion, where saturn is in your chart could be an area of life where it takes time for you to grow into
gemini / 3H — it takes time for you to learn how to communicate your thoughts well. if in the 3H, depending on the sign, you could be introverted and find it hard to speak or you’re too quick of a speaker. you could even have a speech impediment. with gemini, it’s dependent upon the house, but you could be in your head too much when it comes to what you say or you tend to rub people the wrong way with your words.
capricorn / 10H — it takes time for you to grow into your reputation or work life. in the 10H, you may find it hard to get promoted. in capricorn, you could find it hard to not be so work-oriented in every aspect of your life; it could be hard for you to just go with the flow.
aquarius / 11H — it takes time for you to learn to fit in with the collective. in the 11H, it could be hard for you to make friends, or you could fond it difficult to see how your life will pan out in the future. in aquarius, you could find it hard to connect with others and also see the uniqueness you possess.

I look at it as being in the cocoon stage of your you becoming into your adulthood.

Bouncing off of the last post, what is the difference between revati chandra and revati surya?
the difference between your surya, chandra, and lagna - what determines planetary dominance the most (a revati case study) 🎀
🎀 i am so glad you asked this question because it alludes to a larger conversation in astrology: the differences and similarities between the manifestation of the same nakshatra in differing luminaries. you will likely find yourself relating to celebrities or familiar friends who share similar nakshatras or rashis as your top three, but wherein lies the difference between you both?
🎀 you surya is representative of the father, the king, power, authority, your soul, and the way you appear to other people. how bright your outward projection is depends upon the strength of your surya placement. surya controls the vital energy within you that drives you towards attaining fulfillment. whereas, your chandra is representative of the mother, the queen, intrapersonal and interpersonal emotions, mental clarity, familial relationships, and the matters of the mind. it is not inherently your intelligence (as this is under buddha's rulership), but how your emotions shape the expression and drive of your intelligence. additionally, your ascendent is considered the most important house in sidereal astrology, as it rules one's body and personality. do not confuse this with denoting luck, career, and wealth, as these are the more centralized likes of other houses in the chart. in my opinion, it is simply the basis for our being.
🎀 this is ultimately why the lagna is often said to influence one's appearance the most, as it is our core foundation. however, the potency and effectivity of your surya or chandra fluctuates depending on its placement and strength. for example, having a leo uttara phalguni surya in the first house tightly conjunct your lagna that serves as your atmakaraka is more likely to you make solar dominant than having a taurus krittika surya in your twelfth house that is conjunct shani and is your darakaraka. it is all about relativity and strength! this is ultimately why i encourage people to really explore their chart (as there are instances where your big three nakshatra's vimshottari rulers may not be your dominant grahas). look at your karakas, rashis, mahadashas, aspects, lagna lords, yogas, etc..
🎀 rant aside, how people interpret a nakshatra that occupies a chandra or surya is entirely dependent on the previous detailed factors. just remember your surya is the outer self, which can be altered according to your choice and situation while your chandra is the inner you, your true self. surya takes twelve months to traverse all rashis, i.e. remains for a full month within one rashi, therefore, the predictions made can be used for a single month. however, your chandra moves more quickly and is only in a particular sign for approximately two and a half days. Hence, the predictions on the basis of moon sign are more precise and accurate, therefore having a certain nakshatra in your chandra is considered to be generally more significant than your surya (relative planetary strength willing). to see this phenomena, let us examine the differences between different revati surya, chandra, and lagna natives
🎀 above are two revati lagnas, bette midler (left) and shakira (right). both natives look similar to one another with their slightly arched, high brows; almond eyes with a downturned inner corner, prominent nose, oval facial shape, defined cheek apples, and perfectly symmetrical lips. despite both women sharing no prominent placements (shakira is a shravana surya and punarvasu chandra native, midler is an anuradha surya and and swati chandra native), they both are comparable as far as physical facial appearance.

🎀 chaikin has an uttara bhadrapada surya and potential revati chandra. whereas, taylor-joy has an ashwini surya and potential revati chandra. despite both celebrities being potential revati natives, we can see their overall facial characteristic differences. despite them sharing similar nasal structure and facial shape, their eye distance, brow shape, and mouth shape are incredibly different. thus, suggesting that other grahas are influencing their appearance more so than revati.

🎀 moore is a revati surya and potential ashlesha chandra native. conversely, porizkova is revati surya, pushya chandra, and vishakha lagna native. interestingly, both women have shukra conjunct their surya within a degree. these two natives look more alike than taylor-joy and chaikin despite them having differing primary placement energies. this overall dominance of revati in their appearance (aforementioned lightly arched, high brows; almond eyes with a downturned inner corner, prominent nose, oval facial shape, defined cheek apples, and perfectly symmetrical lips) is likely attributable to their surya being their atmakaraka, meaning the graha most indicative of one's soul in their chart. therefore, it is likely these natives resonate more with their revati surya than other placements in their chart.

these are written predominantly for the *rising* signs but they are also intuitively "channeled" enough that they should work for any dominant energy you have! aries: mars is a little more active this week than he has been of late. this is a comfortable setting for you, and yet *too* much impulsivity is not beneficial even to you, let alone to those around you. so don't hold back if you need or wish to act, but do think for just a moment first. it's part of the action. with nodal activity including both mars and venus, this is also a sort of 'twin flame' vibe week for you.
taurus: venus is up to some magical things. as she is your ruling planet, this bodes well for you. however, it may feel a bit like orpheus and eurydike leaving the underworld at the moment. your fate need not be the same as theirs.

ASTRO BASICS #2: UNDERSTANDING WHAT THE ASCENDANT (RISING SIGN) REALLY IS
the ascendant is the window to your entire natal chart. it is the window in which the native "looks out" of to see the world and in which others "look in" to see the native.
it is the worldview, philosophy and chosen life map of the native, the ascendant is what your soul chose* for you to aid you in this lifetime so it is through the ascendant in which the natal chart operates.
in more grounded terms this means the ascendant affects the native's entire approach to life, what they think is the correct way to live and what they think is valuable in living a fulfilling life.
because the ascendant is our chosen life map it means the solar return ascendant is the main focus of a solar return - the sign your solar return ascendant is in shows what you will be forced to focus on throughout that year.
you will usually have a deeper understanding or appreciation of the sign the ascendant was in when you solar return ends, having learnt the lessons you needed to. often you will also meet someone important that has their sun or moon in the same sign as your solar return ascendant that affects you in some way (even if they're only in your life for that year), or you will suddenly begin dealing a lot more with someone of that sign.
while the ascendant is complex, you can find the main themes of the ascendant simply by looking at what house the sign rules:
aries - first house: the self - assertion and expression of the self, beginnings, habits.
taurus - second house: self-worth, money, earthly pleasures (food, sex, material belongings), comfort, luxury, security, five senses, habits and work ethic.
gemini - third house: thinking, opinions and communication, theory work, siblings and close friends, community and neighbours (what's "close” to you), early education, short trips.
cancer - fourth house: where we come from, early life that shaped us (what shapes us - emotional and psychological foundations), self-care, home, family, subjective thinking, comfort zone and comfort (coziness).
leo - fifth house: joy, hobbies, creativity, romance (courtship stage), fun, games, spontaneity, sex, children, self-expression, vacations, gambling, fashion, drama and theatrics.
virgo - sixth house: service to others (needing to feel useful), being served, health and disease, fitness, pets, work habits, daily routine, organisation, analytical thinking, co-workers, work environment, self-improvement, labour, enemies, sacrifice (“selflessness” house).
libra - seventh house: one-to-one relationships, attraction and repulsion, sharing, politics, blind spot (where we are self unaware).
scorpio - eighth house: intimacy and merging (including sex), other people's resources and shared money, death and transformation (rebirth), taboo, mystery (and deception), deep emotions.
sagittarius - ninth house: experience, expansiveness, higher education, religion and philosophy (continued learning and search for meaning - the need for something bigger than one's self), travel, wisdom, ethics, cross-cultural understanding.
capricorn - tenth house: career, achievement, longterm goals, purpose, public relations, public perception and social standing, reputation (needing a "brand" - what we want to be seen as), responsibility, authority figures.
aquarius - eleventh house: collective consciousness, groups, friends (acquaintances and networking), organisations, hopes, dreams, wishes, society and social awareness, technology and internet, humanitarianism, idealism.
pisces - twelfth house: dreams, unconscious, subconscious, spirituality, secrets, sacrifice, solitude, enemies, confinements, hidden things, self-undoing, confusion, karma, deep emotions, impressionability.
i recommend checking your previous solar return ascendant and asking yourself where life kept taking you and what you learnt, seeing how it relates to you - i believe this can help give you deeper understanding of the ascendant overall, both natal and solar return.
*even if you don't believe in life before earthly life or past lives, it is good to keep this in mind when considering how the ascendant works.

the second house came out reversed, but later on the tenth house came out upright; the twelfth house also came out upright. there may be an ending to a flow of money coming in or a lack of money coming in. it could have to do with self-sabotage. maybe you feel under appreciated at your job or think you need to go into a new career field as this time. water came out in reverse, which could indicate fire. maybe something sparked a shift in you to where you feel or felt the need to leave your job recently because you realized it just wasn’t for you. marigolds also appeared, which represent death and despair, but also resurrection.
from the work your light oracle, i pulled the great gathering which pictures a group of people with cloaks staring at a larger piece of nature. logically, you may be thinking that this was not your smartest decision; maybe you left without notice or without a clear backup plan, but this immediate sense of needing to leave was intentional. your guides are laying down a foundation for what’s to come. maybe you were putting this transition off; you didn’t think you were quiet ready, or you didn’t feel comfortable exploring some other option independent from your 9-5. your guides took the situation into their own hands and released your restraints. to them, now is the time for you to do what you were thinking of doing - maybe starting your own business, finally taking the time to relax, or something of that nature.

THE OLDEST OF THREE, AHYEON’s life can only be described as the furthest thing from normal. born to a schoolteacher and an unpromising actor, the pressure to make it big had been instilled within her from a young age. bless her mother’s heart, she tried to provide her daughters with some semblance of normalcy, framing their spelling bees and showing up to their after school shows. but it all came to an abrupt end when her father was found cheating in their home, drunk out of his mind. the divorce was hard on all of them, but her mother got all three of them out.

MUSIC WAS NOT SOMETHING YUINA had in mind originally. studying abroad in korea was a one way ticket to more cultural experiences, and it would have looked good on her resume. but her host family’s son invited her out to a karaoke bar to loosen up, put a mic on her hand, and altered the course of her life entirely. studying korean first through music, yuina would find her voice through meticulous lyricism and a newfound passion for the genre of music. and with her host family’s support, she would audition as a trainee of pledis entertainment in 2016.
joining HOUSE OF CARDS opened her eyes to so much more than her rapping. to this day, her host family is one of her major supporters, especially after breaking the news to her family that she wouldn’t be pursuing a career in law much to their disappointment.

despite sending back some of the money she earns as an idol, she’s still considered a major disappointment to anyone who came across her mother’s path. now eunji doesn’t know what’s worse—cutting her off and risking maternal wrath or losing the last of her family in choosing herself over her. she supposes her mother couldn’t be blamed. she never was the same when her father passed away.
