two human batteries that never die out. julia highly influences hyunjin into doing silly shit, like pranking the members, teasing them, just causing chaos anywhere and everywhere.. it's a little crazy. they're both extroverts when together, minho and chan see them fooling around in their nightmares i swear. back to the calmer side; they love to draw and paint together. julia has a lot of the paintings they've made together hung up in her room. hyunjin was the one to talk her through panic attacks (and still is!!) when they were frequent and that was one of the only times they would actually be quiet together. whenever julia feels like she needs to take a break or just have time to breathe while on stage, hyunjin would immediately be at her side making sure she's alright. hyunjin's probably the one who talks her into doing things that she probably shouldn't be doing in newer places. they also go live together so often, and half of those lives are just filled with them dancing or teasing each other.

you thought jujin was bad? these two are worse. they'll take any possible opportunity to argue with each other. most times it's just to mess with the older members, but they do enjoy teasing each other. in fact, you can usually tell something's up with one or the other when they go more than an hour without saying some kind of belittling comment to eo. however, despite all of this, they're insanely close. whenever another one of the hyungs isn't there to help, they'll usually go to eo during panic attacks. they also share the same fear of heights; when skz has to do something that's relatively high up, liasung will be clinging to eo for dear life. they're like the twins of skz—both the fans and the boys themselves call the pair that. they're always together; on stage, at the dorms, even in variety shows or random vlogs. so many random 1 am bubble updates from them going on late-night walks or convenience store runs.

the two met before i-land but were never friends, they just knew each other because of what people told them about the other.

heeseung was an ace trainee and everyone knew it, including yumi.

this intimidated yumi because of how everyone spoke so highly of him.

the only time they actually hung out was when mutual friends of them went to a noraebang and both were invited.

even then, they only exchanged a few words.

jump to i-land days, when heeseung saw her enter he knew she was a tough contestant.

the older opted to be on her side rather than be her opponent so, he quickly went up to her a sprung out a conversation whenever they were set at i-land.

they were very friendly at the start and as i-land progressed they got even closer to each other.

heeseung reminded yumi of her brother and she thinks this is why they grew so close in such a short time.

in present time, they are fully like siblings.

hee (and jay) is very protective over yuyu, always making sure she's alright.

when she's wearing a skirt, he'll lend her his jacket to cover up; when she has solo promotions, he always makes sure she's doing alright; when yumi is in an uncomfortable situation he's the first one to know and take her out of it.

like she does with her brother, yumi confides in him for his opinion as the older one.

at first, yumi found jay intimidating and didn't have to courage to go up to him.

when Jay was struggling in the show, she was the one who could be seen next to him encouraging and lifting up his spirits. she hated to see how he put himself down.

in exchange, jay would be the one protecting yumi from though comments which lower her self esteem very quickly.

throughout i-land they developed a friendship which was mainly based on looking out for each other and helping the other.

they both bonded over their love for fashion in and after the show. this fact helped to bring them closer.

after i-land, they developed the sibling type of friendship.

like previously stated, heeseung and him are yumi's big brothers in the group.

unlike heeseung, who mainly makes sure she's physically okay, jay is the one who makes sure she is mentally and emotionally okay.

he does a lot of check ups on her because he knows that yumi puts up an act of being the sunshine of the group but inside she's struggling.

jay sees right through her and is always there to help her get through whatever she's struggling with.

also! yumi is jay's oficial sous chef and is his main helper in the kitchen. when she started cooking with the older member, she barely knew how to cook ramen noodles.

she now knows how to cook herself a basic meal without burning down the kitchen!

which actually almost happened because yumi left the stove on with a pan of oil on it. jay removed her cooking alone privilege for some time after that.

their favorite activities to do together are cooking, watching netflix and shopping.

another pair who hadn't met before i-land.

even though he was friends with jake and yumi had met him prior to the show, jake never introduced the two to each other.

their first meeting was a very funny one.

yumi was lowkey starstruck when she saw sunghoon. she had seen his skate competitions before and one of her best friends was a huge fan of his. said friends had dragged yumi to see one of his competitions. so it took her a hot minute for her to say hello back whenever they met in i-land.

but after overcoming the initial starstruck, yumi went to back to her extraverted self and quickly sprung up a conversation with the boy.

this shocked sunghoon as he is introverted by nature and made it a bit awkward between the two.

the first couple conversations of the two were basically: yumi speaking 90% of the time and sunghoon listening and commenting whenever he felt like it.

while and after i-land they were known as the opposites attract duo.

very much black cat and golden retriever energy.

sorry jakehoon, yuhoon is the ship now.

in i-land you could see how they worried and cared about each other when either one of them faced the chance of elimination.

yumi went to the ground two times, and the first person she went to hug goodbye and hello was sunghoon (heeseung would low-key get upset she went to hug sunghoon instead of him). his eyes would light up when she came back, it was so endearing.

they bring each other's playful / chaotic side out.

yuyu LOVES to poke his dimples, she finds them so cute.

don't let his introverted personality fool you though, hoon is also protective over yumi. especially with guys she dates / brings to the dorms.

but her love life is a whole nother shit show we can talk about in a future post 🤡.

they're like jaywon but opposites attract version.

he isn't one to show much affection physically but yumi knows he supports her with his actions.

yumi needs water? he's already on it. she's stressed because of uni? he has set up a movie and popcorn in the living room.

in exchange, yumi is always there for when he needs a little vent or just needs someone.

omg they once went to an ice skating rink because yumi insisted on learning the basics of skating and let's just say sunghoon was very frustrated with yumi falling every two seconds.

their convos at first were very shy and soft spoken but in present times, they love to annoy each other being sarcastic.

they like to annoy the hell out of each other, whether it be on or off camera.

their favorite activities to do together are sharing music recs with each other, teaching each other their hobbies (ice skating & modeling) and play fighting.

jake and her are the sweetest and purest souls out there. but also very chaotic too.

in i-land, these two were seen speaking in english with each other almost all the time.

even in i-land, when they first met, they were teasing each other.

as time went on, they started to have more confidence with each other and started to bicker and tease each other more.

the members say that they're always play fighting (even more than sunghoon and her).

although they bicker and tease each other, they really love and care for one another.

yuyu loves teasing him by imitating his accent and he finds it so endearing!!

Jake helps yumi with being more organized and focused as she is really bad at both.

jake is another one who is protective over yuyu, not wanting her to get hurt by anyone. he is protective over her like an older brother would be of a younger sister.

their favorite activities to do together are watching movies, making playlists, and talking about their doggies!! (yumi has a one year old golden retriever named winnie, who stays with her parents.)

jake dragged yumi to watch vincenzo with him and she got HOOKED.

she has the fattest crush on both vincenzo and chayoung.

jake was the one who literally begged yuyu to go blonde. he wanted someone to accompany him in the pain of being bleach blonde.

and after months of persistence and annoying her about it, yumi caved and dyed her hair blonde with him.

yumi was named Layla's official godmother by jake and he was named winnie's official godfather by her.

sunoo was actually the one who approached yumi in i-land, asking her if she could lend him a face mask. she obviously said yes and gave him one, then they started chatting about skincare and that conversation slowly shifted to getting to know each other.

it was the most random first conversation but it was a fun one, nonetheless.

they then started to talk more and their friendship flourished!

yumi quickly got attached to the boy, finding comfort in him.

they're literally the definition of platonic soulmates.

their favorite activities to do together are listening to music while they talk about random topics and walking around in nature.

activities they like to do together are just dance competitions, playing video games with each other and working out with each other.

yumi is not big on working out but she does like to do some exercise with ni-ki (and jake!).

ni-ki and yuyu are known to do late night just dance competitions, waking up their downstairs neighbors (and everyone on their floor, the floor below and the floor upstairs) but they don't really care.

they like to go to the arcade on free days (and the rest of the maknae line usually tags along and sometimes all of enhypen).

she cried in her room when ni-ki went to the ground. to this day, no one actually knows she did.

ni-ki always goes to yumi when he needs help on his science homework since he knows that's her favorite subject and she's also very good at it. she never gives him the answers though.

THE OLDEST OF THREE, AHYEON’s life can only be described as the furthest thing from normal. born to a schoolteacher and an unpromising actor, the pressure to make it big had been instilled within her from a young age. bless her mother’s heart, she tried to provide her daughters with some semblance of normalcy, framing their spelling bees and showing up to their after school shows. but it all came to an abrupt end when her father was found cheating in their home, drunk out of his mind. the divorce was hard on all of them, but her mother got all three of them out.

THE RISE OF TEENSTAR : TWINSTAR’S GIRL GROUP SUPERNOVA

ALTHOUGH ANNOUNCED TO THE WORLD IN 2018, TEENSTAR had been in the works for years prior. hwayeon and hwayoung had always been interested in the music industry, watching the rise and fall of idol groups since the humble beginnings of their own company. avid fans of GIRL’S GENERATION and BROWN EYED GIRLS, it wasn’t long until they expressed their wishes to their aging father—who was never one to disappoint his daughters.

auditions were held in secret in 2015 as the agency performed as usual, being able to coast under the cover of their models and actors’ fame. the goal was to search far and wide for four girls who fit the twins’ standards—from vocal abilities to performance and presence to even their personalities. the trainees all underwent strenuous singing and dancing exams, all to see who would tap out and who would push on for the chance at stardom. and by the time 2016 rolled around, they had their polished four ready.

debuting with a bang, TEENSTAR hit the idol scene with their hit debut song ‘달라달라 (DALLA DALLA)’. unashamed and loud, members HYEWON, CHAERI, LOUA, and JANELLE were introduced to the world in loud colors and an expressive anthem celebrating their differences and being proud of them. despite the debut’s commercial success, the song received mixed reviews from critics and new listeners. due to their growing popularity, it wasn’t long until TEENSTAR accumulated something akin to a diehard fanbase that gained a split reputation for either being some of the nicest people to rabid fans who would not stand any shred of negativity towards the girls.

it seemed that TEENSTAR had it down to a science when it came to their discography, each song amassing millions of streams by both their dedicated fans and strongest haters. from pop ear worm FANCY YOU to the vocal-led rnb hit WOWOW, you were tuned in to whatever the girls brought out whether you liked it or not.

the group disbanded not too long after the devastating loss of members CHAERI and LOUA, leaving a gaping hole in the hearts of fans and the company alike. after three years of silence, an album of unreleased tracks would be released on the anniversary of their deaths to celebrate the talented lives they had lost in that horrible crash. to this day, fans still block off the street where TWINSTAR is located in memoriam three times a year: on LOUA’s birthday, CHAERI’s birthday, and the anniversary.

┈─ 𖧷 MURDER, SHE WROTE PT. ONE ﹕ NAIYANA CHANTARANGSU. genre, angst. ( the ghost of someone you thought you knew lingers not. ) tw, murder ( and death, in the same vein ), self preservation in the form of being agreeable, reemergence of ghosts from the past. featuring, naiyana, jiho, and ████.

as a job well done ( or so she supposes ), she’s issued time off. the fans are told their beloved naisu is taking creative leave to come up with something even more dazzling that the last album and her near cult following eats the news up as if starved. her instagram post—a monochromatic picture of yesterday’s sunset—details a bit of a more personal side to her leave and thousands of comments are left in her wake wishing her well. the comments telling her to eat well! almost make her smile. almost.

jiho has missed four of her scheduled visits. four is an even number. divided in half, and then half once again. jiho never did things in halves. if she said she was coming, then she was going to be there. and with every day that ticked by without the older woman busting the door to her apartment down, she grew restless.

this was good, though. was it not? it proved that even jiho herself was not exempt from making mistakes. she, too, deviated from routine, but even that alone was not enough to make her feel better. jiho would have let her know that she would have rescheduled her visit. jiho made it a point to prove that she would still oversee that she wasn’t straying from her duties no matter how many miles stretched between them.

the message went unsaid. she was still a doll, even with the small liberties she had. but it was far better than being cooped up in that giant playhouse where everyone smiled even in the face of tragedy.

nahee. all searches of a jeong nahee lead to dead ends and brick walls, the world wide web scrubbed clean of any indication that the jeongs even had a daughter to begin with. but naiyana saw her. she had learned her name in the faint tally marks around door frames masked by paint and stray articles of clothing she knew couldn't have belonged to her. and then the scratched out name in corners on the floors and walls. nahee. she existed and that was proof but it wasn’t much. and the house helps never did like to gossip around her.

against all reason telling her not to, she packs a suitcase and returns to the place she could have called home, once upon a time. she’s torn between the burden of knowing and wishing she was oblivious.

the ride isn’t far. jiho did always like to say she was just a stone’s throw away from the bustling city of seoul, and the thirty minute commute to gangnam-gu humbles her. she tightens trembling hands around the handle of her suitcase and hails a taxi. the driver gives her a onceover that completely unravels her but doesn’t speak. she gives him the address and sinks into the seats as he pulls onto the road.

would she be mad if she visited? it’s not like she had anywhere else to go—she couldn’t be. jiho loved her, in a twisted way. she knew that. they’d sit and catch up like they always did. like mother and some semblance of a daughter.

she’s thrust out of her thoughts when the car makes an abrupt stop, lurching her body forward with a stunted gasp. naiyana grips the seat belt with wide eyes as her heartbeat accelerates.

“is something the matter?” her voice comes out small and frail. “what ha—”

she’s interrupted by the sudden movement in her peripheral, but when she turns to see what she’d missed, she’s only greeted with rows of elevated modern houses. the driver’s door slams open, making her jump, and before she can register what the hell is even happening, she finds herself being bodily hauled out of the car along with her suitcase.

naiyana can’t even speak. all the while, the driver’s actions become more and more frantic, all but throwing her handbag at her before hurrying back to his car. the only thing she catches before he backs up and out of view is a jumbled mess of words, just barely.

bad omen, bad energy. bad omen, bad spirits.

naiyana smooths her hair and clothes down with shaking hands. jiho hated wrinkles.

her hair is plastered to her face when she finally makes it to the front door. she hadn’t anticipated the possibility that it could have rained but when did it not? memories of cold fingertips and red cherries tended to resurface when it rained.

her heart lodges in her throat at the idea of dripping water onto the indoor carpet, but no one rushes to greet her when she pushes the front door open. the foyer is dimly lit, and the overhead chandelier in the parlor isn’t on. natural light streams through the open windows in angular strips that run jaggedly across the floor.

naiyana leans against the closed door and releases a breath. not a soul seems to be in the house at the moment, but that was fine. jiho had always talked about cutting staff for the smallest of reasons. maybe she’d finally reached her breaking point.

toeing her shoes off, she sheds her jacket and hangs it on a nearby hook to dry off, pattering in the direction of the kitchen. maybe she’d make something small and surprise her? she had been honing in her cooking skills to impress the miss. maybe something with rice, or—

something clatters against the marble flooring, sounding further inside the house. naiyana freezes in reaching for a pot, slowly standing up to her full height to listen with rapt attention for another sound. her heartbeat thrums against her ribcage once again. fear. she doesn’t dare announce herself. she’d watched more than enough television to know how poorly that went.

instead, she moves to arm herself with the very same pan she’d just been reaching before, but rethinks her decisions and reaches for a knife instead. the cameras outside of the house had seen her coming inside. she could argue self defense if she did end up killing an intruder.

would you truly be able to kill someone if it really came down to it? she had no idea. but if jiho was in the house with an intruder, she could be in danger. the guilt would weigh on her even more than if she killed someone with her bare hands.

slowly, she inches out of the kitchen and down the hall, her grip tight on the knife. fear heightens tenfold when she hears a hissed curse followed by frantic steps once she nears the staircase leading to the upper floor, swallowing nervously before she makes her ascent. slowly.

the cursing stops when she reaches the top step. as she walks down the hall, most of the rooms are closed with no noticeable shadows moving behind them. had jiho fired all of her staff? surely she would have kept some. jiho was not the kind of woman who did trivial things like cook by herself, especially growing old with age. the lack of human presence only served to scare naiyana even more, and she nearly drops the knife when she turns around.

the door to her room is wide open.

visibly trembling—from fear or the cold, she didn’t know—she inches her way towards her old room. the more she nears, the more she can hear slight scuffling, labored breathing. disorganization in a house that ran on routine. it prickles at her skin.

the first thing she sees when she reaches the entrance is dark red. stained against the pretty pink of her carpet in droplets that balloon into hurried smears. bloodied fingertips swipe against the white floors, the walls, her pristine sheets.

jiho’s body lies a few feet away from her. her eyes are unfocused, her tweed blazer-and-skirt set drenched in crimson. her heels are missing. her hair frames her face in a frenzied manner. she’s every bit the mess she prided herself not being.

she drops the knife in shock.

the clatter makes the hunched figure in the room startle, drawing her attention as it crawls out into the center of the room.

“nai?” a tear slips down her cheek, hot against her cold skin. bile rises in her throat when she feels gentle fingertips brush the surface of her skin, dizzy in knowing red is left behind.

“you killed her.” she manages to say, and the figure only smiles. there’s so much blood. “you killed her—”

“for you.” she hum softly. naiyana smells rain and cherries when her lips brush just shy of her skin. her stomach turns. “for you, because i love you.”

the girl smiles. “she won’t be able to separate us anymore.”

naiyana blinks and she’s fifteen again, begging, pleading for mercy. the last she’d seen of her, she’d given her a smile like naiyana’s life hadn’t crumbled to pieces in front of her.

she’d done everything correctly. she got good grades, was on top of her class, and her teachers liked her. she’d gone by the book. she was supposed to be happy something like this had happened. she was never happy when jiho was around, fear palpable enough to taste.

so why was she still frozen? her mother—notyourmothernotyourmother—dead a few feet away from her, her killer a face she thought had been dead, too?

“you still love me, right?” the girl pouts, her eyes searching her fear-stricken face with ease. “every day i missed you. every day i went over how this moment would go..”

jiho’s body twitches behind her. she suddenly feels very, very faint.

“you still love me, don’t you, nai? don’t you?”

focusing back at the girl—killer—before her, naiyana musters up a smile she hopes is convincing. she is not the girl you once felt love for. she is not the girl you once felt love for.

“of course i love you, aera.”

𖤐 ʾ ⠀ ❪ ⠀ NATALIA HWANG ⠀ ╲ ⠀A DISCOGRAPHY DEEP DIVE

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ TALIA (2015): THE GRAND DEBUT … Fresh out of filming for her supporting role in the 2016 film ‘The Handmaiden,’ Natalia would make her musical debut on her 18th birthday, releasing her first full studio album, featuring three lead singles: ONLY YOU, FULL MOON, and FLY. Each of these tracks would get their own individual promotional periods. This release would debut to much critical acclaim, the lead singles peaking at #1, #5, and #1 on charts respectively and the album selling over 683,000 units. Only You rose to popularity with a surprising quickness, racking in 7 music show wins. Full Moon was also a hit, recognized as one of the most iconic songs as well as choreography in the industry, being covered by large range of idols and notable celebrities. Then Fly did surprisingly well with the general public, taking the industry by storm with it’s vocal prowess and earning several PAKS and RAKS, and staying in the top of charts for a total of 70 weeks.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ 24 HOURS (2016): THE FIRST COMEBACK … Riding off the success of Natalia’s debut, her acting projects, and modeling work, Zephyr thought it’d be best to release her first comeback in the earlier part of 2016. 24 Hours is her second studio album, consisting of 8 tracks with 24 Hours serving as the title track. 24 Hours debuted at #15 on charts but progressively worked itself up to #1 throughout the promotional period. Alongside the title track, the b-side MAGIC which unexpectedly peaked within the top 10 on music charts. Due to popular demand, Natalia also promoted the track very briefly on music shows. Although the public’s reception of her work was seemingly positive, it was evident that she was still exploring her artistry. Even though she was never truly given credit for anything on this album or the album prior, she was heavily involved in the writing and concept for all tracks. On the contrary, both Zephyr Entertainment and Henri Kwon (especially) were very adamant on not straying away from the sexier image she’d been portraying already.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ WHY (2016): THE SUMMER RENAISSANCE … Natalia came back just in time for the summer with her single Why. The tropical house track was met with immediate acclaim upon release, peaking at #1 on all charts, taking home 10 music show wins, and seeing several PAKS. This song was everywhere that year. When people think of summer 2016, Why is destined to come to mind. It also trumped her previous reign of 70 weeks on charts by staying for 90 weeks. It also revisits the charts frequently, usually around summertime of every year. This year she was able to take home BEST NEW ARTIST and SONG OF THE YEAR with this single alone. This is what marked the official solidification of her status in the music industry.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ VARIATIONS ON THE WORLD LOVE (2017): A LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP … Natalia Hwang released yet another studio album titled Variations on the Word Love, which is a darker piece of work exploring themes of toxic relationships and what love can look and feel like. Never Ever, the title track, debuted at #1 on charts and stayed there for weeks. Other b-sides on the album also charted well, like the #5 peaking track MOONLIGHT. The album sold over 2 million copies, marking her first 2 million seller in her career. Aside from the success, though, fans were worried that Natalia was being overworked. From booking luxury brand deals, Mon Cheri’s new season, and gearing up for her first world tour, it was safe to say there wasn’t a time where Natalia wasn’t working. Everything she did was selling like hot cakes, Zephyr and Henri felt like they could slap her name onto anything and make bank. On the contrary, while she was apparently loved by the public, she was also hated a great deal. People slapped the names ‘diva’ and ‘airheaded’ on her, embroiling her in attitude controversies and slandering her for her interviews where Henri accompanied her.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ FANTASY (2017): A LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP PART 2 … Following the promotional period for VOTWL, Natalia would release her first mini album only a few months later, selling 2 million copies once again. It’s title track Fantasy would garner 9 music show wins and peak at #1 on charts. Of course, this release wouldn’t come without backlash, many netizens criticizing the attire she wore in her music video, calling it skimpy and inappropriate. Although she wouldn’t promote this release much as she was preparing for her first world tour, other tracks on the mini would gain popularity, such as DON’T SAY NO (which would later get its own music video) and WHATEVER. Those tracks would both get added to the Setlist for the tour. She would walk away from this year with the ARTIST OF THE YEAR award, much to a lot of people’s dismay. Regardless, this year was still a success even with the boycotts and nasty, intrusive comments from interviewers and netizens alike.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT (2018): THE EERIE CALM BEFORE THE STORM … Natalia released her second mini album right in time for spring of this year, a reference to netizens titling her a ‘national embarrassment.’ While the album sold less copies than her previous releases, it would still chart exceedingly well. She didn’t promote this album much, never performing it and oftentimes barely acknowledging it after its release.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ TIMELESS (2018): THE HATE TRAIN (WHEN THINGS FALL APART) … Around winter of 2018, Natalia released her fourth studio album, featuring the title track #LADY and the promotional b-side ALTERLIFE. Things seemed to be looking up before its release, the albums presales already hitting incredible milestones and the anticipation for the release umpteenth. The first few hours of the release were peaceful, both tracks debuting at #1 and #10 respectively. However, things came crumbling down when Henri Kwon released an exposé regarding Natalia, officially announcing their parting from one another and dumping on her mental health and extremely personal issues. This sent the media into a frenzy, everyone talking about it and a plethora of headlines coming out everyday. Some people sided with Natalia, saying that Henri was wrong for speaking on her and airing out her mental state and sexuality like that, while most used this as an opportunity to bag on her all that they wanted. This was an extremely rough period for Natalia, as she was being asked very rude and inappropriate questions every interview and being harassed by paparazzi and fans on the internet everyday. This was an all-time low for her, emotionally and in her career. She’d always received hate but never to the extent of this year. Due to this, her promotions were cut short and she canceled many schedules. She would then be placed on an indefinite and unofficial hiatus where she wouldn’t release music or make any public appearances for the next nearly three years.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ MY OBSESSION (2021): THE LONG AWAITED COMEBACK … After nearly three years and many half-assed, vague updates from Zephyr Entertainment about Natalia’s whereabouts, Hwang finally made her comeback in 2021, releasing her first studio album in years titled My Obsession. My Obsession would prove to be her best-selling album, selling over 4 million units with its title track MIDNIGHT winning 12 music show wins and SONG OF THE YEAR, while other tracks such as TOUCH, SELFISH, and SECRETS charted exceptionally and were promoted due to popular demand.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ DESSERT [FEAT. MICKEY MOON & KYRIE HAN] (2021): COLLAB OF THE YEAR … A little later this same year, Natalia would unveil another release, which would be a chart topping single featuring Mickey Moon of DREAMCHIC and Kyrie Han of RAVANA. The collaboration would go viral, peaking at #1 and staying within the top 15 weeks after its release. The single would even be nominated alongside Midnight for awards such as BEST DANCE PERFORMANCE and SONG OF THE YEAR. Although, it would win BEST COLLABORATION.

∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪ BAD OMENS (2022): CREATIVE FREEDOM AND ARTISTIC AUTHENTICITY … After taking yet another year off from music, Natalia came back with her studio album titled Bad Omens, featuring the title track Fever. This ‘hiatus’ was much different from the previous one—in length and reason. It was obvious that she was working on projects behind the scenes, such as new modeling projects, preparing for comebacks and (possible) tours, and making business moves. In this album, fans were able to see a different, deeper side of Natalia and her music. She was vulnerable with the concepts for music videos and album art, and talked about past experiences in her tracks which raised quite a few brows to listeners. Many people would speculate about the lyrics but when questioned about them, she would only answer with vague responses. Some tracks that were talked about in particular were: I LOVE MY BOYFRIEND, PWIC, and LIQUID SMOOTH. The album is often regarded as her best piece of work sonically, conceptually, and artistically.

As of early 2024, Natalia has taken more time off from music to focus on her new record label COUNTESSA RECORDINGS, which she revealed and bought her first artist in the later part of 2023.

Stray Kids' Julia Rushed To Hospital After Fainting Mid-Concert

Get better soon, Julia.

On March 23, audience members of Stray Kids' "Maniac" Tour in Atlanta, Georgia reported seeing Julia faint just a few songs into the concert.

Fans became concerned after seeing Julia looking exhausted and breathing extremely heavily during the group's introduction ment. In videos and photos taken by fans in the audience in between songs, Julia could be seen having trouble walking and bringing her head down multiple times. In others, you could see Bang Chan, Lee Know, and Seungmin presumably asking if she was okay and even helping her walk across the stage.

Worries only grew as the concert went on and Julia continued to perform despite her sickly condition. However, at the end of "Back Door", things took a turn for the worse. When the group finished their powerful performance, fans in the side wings saw Julia bring her head down before ultimately collapsing onto the ground. She was then escorted off the stage by staff and her members.

STAYs began to call out JYP Entertainment for overworking the idol; it was revealed that she was the main choreographer for the setlists being performed during the tour and was even choreographing songs for other groups in between concerts. Angry fans demanded the company to give the idol a break while others expressed their concerns for Julia on social medias.

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

It is with utmost regret that we relay the news of Stray Kids' member Julia to STAY, who have shown such genuine love and care for Stray Kids.

Julia has recently been experiencing health issues during 'Stray Kids' 2nd World Tour MANIAC'. Despite this, Julia has been performing on stage with as much energy as possible to fulfill the promise made with STAY. Following the concert in Atlanta, Georgia, she has been taken to the hospital to receive treatment for her health.

After a long discussion with Julia and the rest of Stray Kids, we have decided to suspend Julia's activities so she can receive treatment accordingly. As a result, Julia will not participate in the remaining concerts for the 'MANIAC' tour. The tour will continue with Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, HAN, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.

We apologize for the sudden news and ask for your understanding, as this decision has been made in consideration of Julia's health. We will do our absolute best to ensure a quick recovery for Julia as her health is our biggest priority.

𝙨𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨: how the boys react/act when yumi is on her period.

poor boy was so stressed when yumi got her period with only him around.

confused but still very helpful.

the first time it happened, he had to run around the dorm looking for pads. safe to say it was s 0/10 experience.

one of the few members who would go to the store and buy her pads.

yumi was surprised when he arrived with the correct ones and even bought tampons because he didn't know if she used them.

she needs a heating pad? already on it. pain killers? He's on his way. Is having a craving? He's already ordering the take out.

he just wants her to feel as comfortable as she can.

now, when her mood swings are all over the place, home boy is out.

not because he doesn't want to be there for her, but because he knows when to keep his distance when she's moody.

but every now and then he will pop up and ask if she's doing okay and won't take it to heart if she doesn't respond in a good way because he knows she doesn't mean it.-

if she stains her pants in public he will not tell her, he will just tie his sweater or hoodie around her waist and walk closely behind her just in case it bleeds through that too.

he does what she tells him to do because he wants her to be in a good mood. ( he is also low-key scared of her ).

while promoting 'Let Me In', yumi was feeling horrible and hee microwaved some water and asked the staff for a towel for him to soak it in and gave it to her to put on her belly :(

doesn't know much but has been learning along the way and has been very helpful.

knows a lot more than one would think, but is still a bit on edge because he's scared of saying or doing something wrong.

"It's not such a big deal, yumi. It's just a piece of fruit." "jUST A PIECE OF FRUIT?"

he was way more distant the first few periods she got with them but now he's beginning to keep less distance from her as he has learned that she's not going to be moody every single minute of the day.

he leaves her some of her favorite snacks and fruits on her bed every morning on her pillow with a note that reads 'jay's peace offering' ( that makes yumi feel a bit better ).

tries very hard to make her laugh and she does laugh, not because the joke was funny, but because she was very touched at how much he cared to see her happy and wanted him to feel like he did a good job. ( which he totally did )

mostly texts her if she need anything to avoid making her irritated.

will only buy her pads if it's a life or death situation.

one time he told her no and it turned into a serious fight that lasted about two days.

she forgave him after her period ended because she realized how stupid the fight was.

he now carries a small bag with pads when it's that time of the month, just in case something ever happens.

cooks for her and even brings it to her bed so she doesn't have to go out of her way to eat.

will not hesitate to give her his sweater, hoodie, etc. to cover herself if she stains her pants in public.

for not having that much experience with this, he is plenty helpful.

whenever yumi gets her period, it's like a switch is turned on and from being very annoying and playful towards her he turns so soft and sweet. he's literally s sweetheart to her.

this one time they were watching something on his bed and she bled through her pants and stained the bed and she almost died of embarrassment since it was HIS sheets.

she wouldn't have been so embarrassed if it wasn't because it was his bed and his sheets.

his initial thought was to tease her about it but when he saw how embarrassed she looked he decided to take the sweet route.

"it's okay you don't have to be embarrassed, I've heard this happens a lot."

one of the only members who don't flee away when she has her mood swings.

he keeps his distance but doesn't leave her alone as he knows that when she's on her period all the emotions she feels get overwhelming for her.

he actually learned how to clean the stain by watching her and he now believes he's completely prepared for when she gets her period.

gives her his hoodie if she ever stains her pants out in public.

constantly makes sure she isn't in pain and if she is he always has pain killers at hand to give to her.

he has a packet of nuts and dried fruits in his bag as he read that you're supposed to eat foods heavy in iron on your period.

he also make sure she's been eating and sleeping well because he doesn't want anything to happen to her.

because he knows she doesn't do either well on the daily.

super sweet and helpful.

he has a younger sister so I think he'd know a little more than the other members ( as well as Sunoo and Ni-ki, who also have sisters )

he's very chill and nonchalant about it.

because it's really not such a big deal.

he's so calm about it, probably the most calm out of all of them. ( he's secretly dying inside with nervousness )

he doesn't keep pads with him but he does keep a small heating pad that can be used on the go because he knows how bothersome cramps are.

will not deal with her mood swings at all.

he loves the girl to death but she gets unbearable and he wants to avoid the conflict.

since he maintaines his distance from her, he sends her a shit ton of memes and funny tiktoks to cheer her up.

will also try and help her with whatever he can with the distance needed.

he's very scared of an irritated yumi, he doesn't want to be on the spot whenever she gets mad.

let's her curl up next to him and cuddle with him just because he knows she's not feeling well.

he hugs her a lot on those days as he thinks hugs can numb the pain. ( bless his heart 🥺 ).

yumi stained her pants and they're out in public? He will discreetly tell her about it and offer his jacket or ask her if she wants him to walk behind her to cover the stain.

if she asks for him to buy pads he will not go but will ask his manager to go for him.

he's very helpful and always makes sure she's okay.

oh this boy, so sweet yet doesn't really know how to help.

called his sister when he was alone with her and she stained her pants/sheets and was almost crying out of pain because he had no clue on what to do.

his sister calmly explained to him that it was normal for a girl to cry of pain when they're on their periods and that he should ask if she needed help.

after that incident he started researching on the topic and began to feel more confident when it came to helping her with her period.

"how are you girls even alive after losing SIXTEEN TABLESPOONS of blood on their period?!" "we're superhumans, I guess." "I have no doubt about that."

is by her side 24/7 to make sure she's okay and nothing has happened.

asks if she's okay every 5 minutes.

hates it when she gets ticked off by him and screams at him because he doesn't like it when she's mad at him :(.

but whenever she's mad at the other members, he takes her side to make sure he's not targeted next.

he tried tracking her period but forgot to update the app and decided he would just try and memorize when her period starts and ends to have a good idea of when it will start again.

he doesn't have a small bag with pads but he does carry some around when she ask him too, just in case she forgets to pack some herself.

another one who won't go and buy her pads because he finds it scary, have you seen how many types of pads there are?!

went once and confused the pads with adult pampers. yumi could only laugh at this incident and he had to go back and buy the real ones.

he isn't going through that stress again and instead asks his manager to go and buy them for him, like sunghoon.

at least once a week sunoo will have a self care night with her. they do face masks their extensive skincare routine and watch movies while gossiping about who knows what.

if she stained her pants in public, he'll just give her his hoodie while trying to make it seem not so obvious.

ngl he was very confused at first about it all and is still somewhat confused now.

he wasn't panicked when it first happen but confused on what to do.

should he offer her his help? should he ask if she needs painkillers? should he help wash the stained clothes or should he just step back and let her deal with it?

the first time he let her deal with it alone but the second time it happened he asked her if she needed help and started asking questions to know more about it and know how to help her next time it happened.

now, he's one of the most prepared members when it comes to her period.

as the leader, he thinks it's his responsibility to look out for her well being so he started stocking up on pads, painkillers and heating pads just in case.

he asked her if it was okay if he tracked her period and she obviously said yes and now he has an app on his phone to track it.

whenever yumi is in pain, he will sit next to her and ask if she wants hugs. if she goes say yes, he will give her the biggest hug ever.

he hates seeing his noona in pain.

he gives the members a heads up about her pms a week before her period starts ( he doesn't want any fights happening ).

"noona, remember your period is supposed to start in a week.", "noona, remember to stock up on pads and painkillers!", "noona, don't overwork yourself, you can collapse or faint easily this week."

he sometimes pays more attention to her period than yumi herself.

he carries painkillers and sometimes even pads in his bag just in case yumi needs them.

will only agree to buying her pads if she goes with him because he doesn't want to buy the wrong ones.

if nabi stained her pants in public he'll give her his hoodie or whatever he has and will make sure nobody else notices.

used to stay at 10 meters away from her when it happened because: 1. he was low-key scared of her 2. didn't want to disturb her 3. didn't know what to do so he opted to stay away.

like literally no contact with her. worse than sunghoon, at least he only went away when her mood was bad.

yumi picked up in this behaviour and started to get confused as to why he was acting that way.

she eventually asked him one day after he had been almost ignoring her for the whole week.

"i just don't know how to help you and I don't want to be a bother, so i stayed away. I do want to help you, noona. I just don't know how to."

girlie almost busted out crying, he seemed so sincere.

she then told him he should've told her before and that she would told him on what he could help.

his “job” is now mainly to make sure she is feeling alright.

hugs and cuddles for days.

riki might want to be this big scary guy but whenever his noona is feeling bad, he's there to give her all the hugs.

he now carries with him a small bag with painkillers, two or three pads (sometimes tampons, even though she normally doesn't use them) and snacks. mainly it's just with painkillers and snacks, the pads are only there whenever she puts them because she's scared she might forget them.

like sunghoon, ends her funny memes and videos for her to cheer up and be happy.

panics once he sees that she has stained her pants while in public. goes over to her and whisper's to her that she has stained her pants.

is normally a very annoying kid but turns sweet and caring.

will NOT go and buy her pads, baby steps with him. regardless if he would, yumi has never asked him this because he knows that it's not very fun and even the older members hate going.

but will buy her favorite candies as a 'i'm sorry I didn't buy you pads' gift. which normally consists of snacks.

a formidable hit that made waves for all the wrong reasons domestically, MASCARA had the opposite effect internationally. nevertheless, HIJINXX would get the chance to perform the song on mnet’s m countdown, sparking the discourse surrounding their name. the official music video for MASCARA received 2.6 million views within the first week, highlighting how HIJINXX are quickly making their own statement around the world no matter what.

the public reception to the single being mostly in english was genuine surprise. it’s not unheard of having english lyrics in k-pop songs, but the entire song? as a debut single? for a new group trying to find their own footing? yeah korean netizens were not having it at all. on a forum asking what people thought about the song, the top liked negative comment read: they should all move to america since they want to sing songs with no korean lyrics. they shouldn’t even call themselves a ‘korean pop’ group.

many were quick to come to the girls’ defenses though, saying that the song was meant to reach a wider audience since the survival show didn’t do as well as hoped. ratings for the show had tanked following the accusations of rigging and favoritism, so it wasn’t a long shot for the group to debut with such a song to appeal to a wider audience.

now on to the girls! yuina became a quick fan favorite with her expressions and stage presence, surprising viewers with her strong dance skills. it was then revealed that she spent many hours practicing the choreography over and over, sometimes well into the morning, even falling asleep in the practice rooms out of sheer exhaustion. hearing this, coupled with some tidbits of her life that she had revealed on the survival show, warmed her up to the public very quickly. her short rap in the song would also gain a bit of praise, especially for her lack of vocal wavering despite giving one hundred percent during performance.

despite this, kq would receive a lot of criticism for debuting the girls with ‘simple choreo’, the general consensus being that ( save for yuina who was really busting her ass on stage every time ) the other three girls would ‘walk instead of dance’ into each position.

micha received a ton of attention, some good, most of it bad. the main sore spot was that, as the main vocalist, she was given the most lines, but netizens would go on to complain that the company was favoring her through an unfair line distribution. hate comments would be left underneath the videos uploaded for the performances. she’s lucky she’s pretty, one commenter would write, otherwise i would really hate to hear the sound of her voice. when she dances she looks like she’s being electrocuted and it’s not like she tries to be likable.

eunji would go semi-viral for blankly staring at the screen during group introductions, the nerves getting to her so bad she would default to a semi panicked look. screenshots of the moments would go viral to be used as a reaction meme despite most not knowing where the pictures originated from.

mascara would be promoted for a month and a half, long enough for public performances / more busking, few idol interactions, and dance challenges—especially with their senior group, ateez. the ‘mascara challenge’ with yuina, wooyoung, and san would especially go viral due to atinys flooding the comments with love and poking fun at the notable height difference between san and yuina.

mascara did not gain any wins, but it would go on to chart and peak at number 87 on the billboard hot 100, marking their first entry on to a chart.

soon after the music video for mascara dropped, hijinxx would release a four episode behind the scenes series of filming, practices, and more for each member titled to their respective suit. ( ex : micha’s episode would be titled ‘HIJINXX - ‘MASCARA’ BTS : DIAMOND SUIT’ )

even though there wasn’t much to say about ahyeon’s performance, she would gain more traction for her persona off stage. atinys and aces would bond over hongjoong and ahyeon’s friendship, the bits and pieces of the two featured in her mascara bts episode showcasing just how close they were. considering she’s the one who actively pursued their friendship, their moments were received fondly as the two truly seemed comfortable together. the recording process especially showcased this, featuring a now infamous moment of the two poking fun at each other in the studio. one atiny would post on twitter, ‘new drinking game : take a shot each time ahyeon says ‘joong-ah!’ every time he acts like a little shit LMAOOO 😭 i love them together <3’, the tweet amassing enough attention for even the ateez members themselves to pick up on the teasing.
