OKAY IT’S HAPPENING, EVERYBODY STAY CALM!! I’ve finally finished my opinion on “The who by numbers” This took me so long but it’s finally here so I hope you enjoy:

Before I start, I feel the need to say (once again) that I really love the design of the cover and the fact that John Entwistle actually drew the cover himself makes it even better. I love a talented King ❤️

Okay, now the opinion you’ve been waiting for:

1. Slip Kid: The cowbell at the beginning of the song?? I LOVED IT. Great intro. I think it captures the vibes of the album really well. Btw Is that Roger on backing vocals?? I love the song. I have no idea what it is about but I love it 🤣

2. However much I booze: Ummm excuse me??? This song is a fucking vibe. Now I understand why this song is your favourite😍 I don’t know what they put in this song but fuuuuck it’s so damn groovy and the melody it’s soooo catchy. Keith’s drumming and John’s bass in this one are superb

3. AAAAA SQUEEZE BOX MY BELOVED, MY BABY. I literally forced all of my friends to listen to this one. They looked at me weird when I played the song for them in the car but idc. Anyway, This one is my favourite and you already know the context behind why I love this one 😏🤣

4. Dreaming from the waist: All I can say about this song is that I absolutely love the dedication John Entwistle and Keith Moon put in this song. All I can hear is bass and drums 👀❤️

5. Imagine A Man: Okay confession. The first time I listened to this song I did not like very much but now that I’ve listened to it a few more times I think It’s starting to grow on me. Also, the line “Imagine a past where you wish you had lived” literally wrecked me, I felt it in my soul 💔

6. Sucess Story: I have the feeling that I’ve heard this song before…. It sounds like a mix between “All the way from Memphis” by Mott the Hoople and “It’s only Rock N Roll (But I like it) by the Rolling Stones. I might be wrong tho but all these songs have the same vibes 🤣

7. They Are All in love: This is probably my least favourite (don’t kill me) the song is good and I like how Keith and John sound together but idk. Maybe I need to listen to it more

8. Blue Red and Grey: IS THIS PETE ON VOCALS TOO?? Holy sweet mother of jesus his voice feels like a warm hug. Is that an ukelele?? YEP IT IS. I’ve read that Pete wanted to commit suicide and that’s why he wrote this song. If that’s true I feel so sorry for Pete :(

9. How many friends: HELLO?? THE DRUMS? THE GUITAR??? Holy fuck I like everything about this song. “How many friends have I really got? Well you can count ‘em on the one hand” THAT’S LITERALLY ME. I only have a few friends but feel so lucky to have them.

10. In a hand or a face: This song reminds me of Baba O’Riley for some reason🤣 Are we absolutely sure that this isn’t a leftover song from “Who’s Next?”

Oh, by the way, I still can’t tell the difference between Pete and Roger’s voices but I feel like Pete sings in almost every song of the album so I don’t really know what to say about Roger’s input in the album except for the backing vocals (he sings beautifully)

Overalls, this album is really fun to listen to, it’s very complete and catchy. From what I’ve read, this album took ages to be completed cause Pete had a writer’s block and depression but I’m so glad he recovered and finished the album. So far, this is probably my favourite The Who album. I still need to listen to Quadrophenia in its entirety tho.

Okay so first of all, to clear your doubts, Pete's voice is the warm one, "However Much I Booze" and "Blue Red and Grey" are sung by him, the rest is Roger. Roger has a distinct voice, if you know "Squeeze Box" by heart, you know Roger's voice <3

Normally Roger sings, occasionally Pete does, Pete and John are always the backing vocals, Keith only shines from time to time, not a single song of his on this one, BUT I'm so glad to hear that the rhythm section is catching your attention this much - you would have to see me grin when you said you can't hear nothing but bass and drums XD

About the stories you mentioned there, I didn't read much, so I believe in what you're saying. I somehow can't bring myself to really dig in the history of the band, I'm probably afraid of a thing or two, but like, I'm so glad Pete recovered from depression as well - he's a lovely guy really, deserving the best <3

I'm very happy that you love the album this much and I certainly can't fucking wait for you to dive into "Quadrophenia". You'll hear my screaming when you send me your opinion, plus... Ikevil. Prologue. Part 1. (1-5)

These are more like notes... and a little translation of the prologue.

It's easy to be happy when life is a fairy tale.

The heroine, Kate, is a mailwoman.

Evening. There is one last address left. Suddenly a strong wind blows, ripping the envelope from the girl's hand.

Kate: If I lose sight of it, I'll be in trouble.

The letter flies to William.

We don't know their names yet.

Leaning over, he picked up the envelope and handed it to Kate.

???: Here you go, lady..

The girl noted to herself his non-human beauty and graceful movements.

Even for the world of this game, bright red eyes are unusual.

It looks like blood.

Suddenly the "red-eyed man" says there are more packages left and the girl needs to hurry before it gets dark.

Kate goes about her business.

William's waiting for Victor.

William: Thanks for waiting....

Victor: If it's you, I'll be happy no matter how long I wait. ...Ah, something good happened.

William: Ah. There was a lovely Robin there, with a lovely voice, almost singing.

Victor: I see... If you're interested in someone, I'm curious too.

Kate is walking around town after work.

A male mugger wants to beat a little girl with a poker.

The heroine yells at him, something like, "Put back what you stole and I'll listen to what you have to say."

The girl didn't wait, kicked the man and ran off with the necklace.

It turned out she was the thief and the man the victim.

Now the man wants Kate to pay for the merchandise.

Victor was watching this. He calls the heroine "Pretty Miss Robin."

Kate believes that you can not blame the thief, because the east of London is full of poor people and who knows what need made the girl steal.

The heroine's hobby is going to the theater every few months.

Kate went back to work. There is a shortage of letter carriers. And our heroine doesn't have enough money for the theater. Kate decides to work part-time as a night courier.

Victor gathers all the boys together. In the background, a groovy jazz song plays.

I'm too lazy to translate the whole thing, especially when there's a better translation of this scene.

Kate delivers the mail. It's a safe neighborhood. There's one last letter left. It needs to be taken to the incredibly gorgeous mansion. But trouble... There's no mailbox.

The gate is open. It's sloppy. The heroine hopes to see one of the servants.

A piano is playing in the distance. This must be someone who lives here.

The cheerful music sounds strange in the quiet mansion.

Kate is scared. Moving forward, she can get the job done, but she also feels like she's making the biggest mistake of her life.

Kate: Sorry....

(.......What?)

A bright red fountain erupts in front of her.

A round object, all in red, rolls up to her. It's a head.

The corpse had a knife in its hand.

???: I didn't think there would be an audience here.

Looking around, Kate notices eight shadows that are darker than darkness.

One of the shadows slowly rises from behind the piano. It is William.

William: Who if it isn't Robin, whom I met this afternoon?

Liam: Do you know William? Do you know who we are?

William: We just talked a little bit on the street, Liam. She doesn't know about the Crown.

Liam looks at Kate with curiosity.

Harrison tries to say that the corpse is a set piece for the play.

Kate: ...Lies.

Harrison: ...You'd better pretend you believe me.

He asks William for advice.

He replies that he should take the heroine to the Grim Reaper of the Palace.

Jude grudgingly turns to Roger that he should have closed the door.

Roger: Ahaha, I didn't expect anyone to go so far as to trespass. Are you a very bad girl, miss?

Feet unruly with fear prevented the girl from escaping. All she could do was take a step back. But she was immediately captivated by Will's blood-red eyes.

William: Come, poor Robin.

The girl went to him against her will.

(Why? I can't stop.)

Kate: ....No, I don't like it!

She is beside him. He hugs her gently.

His scent tickles her nose.

Something fell on her. Probably blood. William wiped it off and introduced himself at the same time.

He invited Kate to dinner.

Before the heroine knew it, she was seated in a carriage.

The package was left at the mansion. But she wonders if she can get the money for the delivery. 🤣

But it's doubtful, since the girl doesn't know if she'll be able to get home.

Kate quickly guesses that the men belong to some kind of organization.

Alfons aka The Gentleman: Miss Kate.

[Although he actually called the heroine Miss Robin.]

He points to the palace, smiling. End Stop. Perhaps this is where Kate's doom awaits.

Kate: This is reality.

Alfons: Yes, unfortunately. It's not a dream or an illusion. This is a painful reality from which there is no escape.

Alphonse startled her. Her head was spinning. She bumped into Elbert.

Kate: I'm sorry.

Elbert: ....No problem...Are you okay?

The man looks like a porcelain doll.

Too beautiful, too creepy.

Oh... Looks like Elbert won't just let Kate go.

Liam slapped Elbert on the arm.

Liam: Kate, can you talk to me? I want to know more about you.

Now Kate is sandwiched between the two men.

Roger comes to her rescue.

The report to Victor comes first.

It is with Roger that the heroine feels most at ease.

But what will happen to her? According to the man, everything depends on her.

William appears. Kate calls him, I don't know, Lord Rex. He, on the other hand, laughing, asks, without formality, to call him William.

Kate: Okay..... Lord William.

Victor: Welcome back, my beloved damned people!

William introduced Kate.

Victor: Wow... What a fateful coincidence.

She realized she was facing the queen's aide. Her legs buckled and Vic picked her up at the last moment.

.... "Crown" is such a secret organization, whose employees immediately tell everything to a random girl.

But seriously... Liam explains that cursed people, born with a curse.

They are destined to commit a crime and face a tragic end.

For example, Liam himself will be killed by his own curiosity.

[I'm not sure of this piece] Liam's story of the first cursed. His loved ones tortured him, cut off his limbs and abandoned him, but he only laughed himself to tears... Eventually, in the end, he jumped into a tub of sulfuric acid, dying laughing loudly.

Roger: It has been said that various tales were born of this cursed man.

It's hard to believe, but cursed people have abilities that normal people don't.

The only one who remembers that they are members of a secret organization is Jude.

He says it's all a secret. 👏🏽

William's ability is a smug king. He's kind of like a hypnotist.

He seems to be the one who hypnotized the master into killing himself.

Great Britain is the only country that organizes and controls "damned men."

It's Ellis' turn to shine, too. 🤩

What to do about the girl?

Ellis thinks she doesn't look happy. If she needs to be killed, he'll do it.

Kate is trembling, the others are calm. To them, taking a life is the norm.

Somehow they have to be persuaded.

Kate says she won't tell anyone.

The mailmen are trained to keep confidentiality.

Victor & William: ......

Also, Victor can keep an eye on her until he trusts her.

Victor can easily be persuaded. She is now a member of the exclusive "Crown" programme.

Okay, so Septemberposting may be over - but in the process of looking for other Earth, Wind & Fire songs to use for the posts earlier in the week, I rediscovered an absolute gem. A gem by, of course, none other than the legend toonlink himself - arguably the best ripper of them all in the early seasons of the channel.

That proficiency alone almost guarantees any rip he works on is one for the playlists, yet we've got something else to discuss here: Driftveil City from Pokémon Black and White. In all the years Pokémon games have been releasing, its hard to find one city theme that is as unanimously beloved as Driftveil City - its vibe and beat is simply unmatched, and several YouTube uploads of the theme have view counts in the millions. Its a theme whose sheer groove and quality transcends just Pokémon fans and unites people all over to sit down and jam.

Which, too, is what DRIFTVEIL CITY JUST GOT A TON MORE GROOVIER does to SiIvaGunner viewers - arranging Earth, Wind & Fire's Let's Groove into the tune of the theme. Its a perfect match for the city's original soundscape, and uses both instruments from the original track as well as ones from the Driftveil City Gym in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. The grooviness of both pieces are channelled into every part of the rip, from the percussion, lead and background instruments, and the intro still channelling Driftveil City's original intro.

Its hard to find much to say on rips that are so effective in being perfect - when toonlink wasn't aiming for the stars, he still took the time to refine his craft to be damn near infallible. Even back on my first listen in 2017, it was rips like this that would regularly remind me of just how good the people behind SiIvaGunner were at their hobby.

At long last I've listened to the entirety of GLOOM DIVISION (about time, and just in time, seeing as I'm gonna see him live soon) and I wanted to share my thoughts on the tracklist.

DOWNSIDE - Amazing!! The hook is always stuck in my head and I find myself wandering around singing it to myself. Very very good and very catchy! I love it!

GLOOMTOWN BRATS - My favorite on the album. It was my favorite when it was released as a single, and that did not change. It's so so so so so good. It's so catchy and groovy. I can't resist it. I listen to it all the time. Amazing amazing AMAZING!

INFATUATION - Very good! Upon my first listen I wasn't too into it, but as I listened to it a couple more times I fell in love with it! Another one that's stuck in my head and I find myself singing a lot. So groovy! I love to listen to it while getting ready in the morning.

WHAT LOVE? - Amazing! I can't not dance to it when it plays. The vocals in this are absolutely amazing, they have me utterly bewitched. Dallon's vocal range exhibited in it is insane and I love it.

SPKOTHDVL - Instant love. This may be my second favorite on the album. As soon as I started listening I was into it and I LOVE it. I'm also a huge sucker for swing rhythms and this just scratched that swing itch for me.

SIXFT - Very good! Not my favorite but I can see why it's the favorite of so many people. Great lyrics (gotta love that monumental f bomb), and very groovy! Excellent song. I also really like how the word he chooses to use so much to refer to his love is "darling" (that counts for other songs too, such as DOWNSIDE). Such a good word.

FIND ME - Excellent!!! I loved this one. Such a nice, dramatic groove, and I really like the words (especially, "The stains are black, just like your soul"). Maybe my third favorite if I had to pick. While listening I just quite liked it, but looking back on it I LOVE it. Very very good.

KISS & TELL - Very good! I liked the lyrics a lot, and it had a good groove. The rhymes in particular were very cool. I thought the particular key signature was an interesting choice and I quite liked how it went with the song. I liked this song quite a bit.

A LETTER - I liked the music, but the choice of what was done with the vocals wasn't really my thing. When it first started, I was like, "That doesn't sound like Dallon," but that's because it wasn't Dallon, to be fair. I think I know why the song was chosen to have been delivered that way, seeing as what it's about, it just wasn't quite my thing.

SATANIC PANIC - Very good. Even more catchy. It's still stuck in my head as I'm writing this. Great lyrics, too. I liked this one a lot.

SUNNYSIDE - I liked the music, but wasn't really fond of the way the chorus was done. That part kinda sounded like how a lot of alternative music sounds these days, which is surprising for IDKHOW. Maybe that's the part the person featured on this did, I dunno. Definitely not a bad song, it just didn't really call out to me.

iDIOTS OF Oz - Awesome! I really liked this one. It was so groovy and its flow was so good! Definitely one I would recommend others listen to. Unsure if I would pick this as the closer to the album, but then again, I don't know the full picture Dallon was trying to paint. My immersion also potentially could've been spoiled because 1) I was interrupted while listening to this and 2) I didn't really get to process it ending, because Razzmatazz immediately started playing as soon as it ended. But yeah very good. I liked it a lot.

All in all an AMAZING album. I definitely recommend listening to it. Even better than RAZZMATAZZ, which is saying something, because I LOVE that album.

I'm very excited to see him live and hear several of these live~

"Blue" from Cowboy Bebop is one of my all-time favorites. Honestly the whole Cowboy Bebop soundtrack is amazing and lives up to the hype for sure with its jazz/Old West style with spacy and harder and more modern vibes.

"Ashita Kuru Hi" from Kobato. was the next one that popped into my head! This song gets several different versions throughout the anime, because it's a tune the main character sings all the time, different verses for different events. It even gets a Christmassy reprise in one episode! This is the full, basic version of it featuring music box. But this piano-opening version with more sweeping instruments plays over the finale credits... While I'm at it, I WILL plug the entire soundtrack. It is ADORABLE and is nice sweet background music for work and study.

Gotta give a shoutout to Mob Psycho 100's opening themes for sure. They're all so good and seat-dance provoking. "1" is my favorite of them, it's so intense!

"Yuzurenai Negai" from Magic Knight Rayearth is really nostalgic for me, being the theme from one of the first anime I ever bought bootleg fansubs of from a shady man at a monthly comics expo. XD It's definitely a "classic anime" kind of song, with that adventurous shoujo feel.

"Matsuri Uta" from Blue Seed is one I was introduced to without having ever seen the anime it's from and I still like it. It has a slow, quiet start and is just a very pretty piece. (I like to sing along to it, hehe.) Here's another arrangement without the lyrics but with more instruments.

WHILE I'M ON Megumi Hayashibara...I'll also rec "Give a Reason" from Slayers. It's so punchy and upbeat and really inspires a person to get up and GO! You know what? Here's "Get Along" too.

I could recommend any of "Cardcaptor Sakura"'s opening and closing themes, but "Hitorijime" sticks out to me as a funky little track that's just extra fun to listen to. In the same vein is "Groovy!" and the video features a hypnotically bouncing Kero-chan so you can't lose.

I could fill an entire post of its own with Sailor Moon music but instead I will gesture wildly at "Moon Revenge" from the R Movie and yell that it features one of my favorite things in any anime song--vocals by the cast.

SPEAKING OF...here's another one of my ultimate favorite anime songs of all time, "Yamerarenai Yamerarenai" from Tenchi Muyô! The entire main voice cast going absolutely ham in character singing about all the little pleasures in life. Absolutely delightful!

i havent actually talked about my thoughts on khruangbins new album... which is obviously good but i simply didnt have the time to get into it :/ ive been hoping to give it a good listen, no skips no nothing, on a day off but work has been kicking my ass a bittt... anyway! Pon pón is fun. it came out as a single few weeks back and ive gotten really into it.... sooooo groovy

vampire by sholto is what some of you might recognize from love and food playlist? but ohhhhhh fuckkkkkkk its so good. i dont even know this guy and i didnt think much of it other than "yeah its cool" when i added it to my library. such a great and sinister feeling jazzy number.... AND WHEN THE SAX HITS!!!!!!!!! thats so good. please listen to vampire.

more radio pop!!!!! MORE MAINSTREAM KEVIN PARKER!!!!!!!! i do love tame impala's older/more niche sound just as much as i love him "selling out" (whatever, i will defend his minions and elvis tracks until i die and i will MEAN it) so i am STILL excited for this album even though the roll-out of singles has been consistently awful. but i guess dua lipa is a slow riser always (however long did it take her to peak on charts with 'dont start now'???). plus obviously DANNY!!!!!! YAY FOR DANNY!!!!!

its been a really good spring so far, with so many of my faves releasing music, and obviously that includes sebastian. i remember watching the runway show this was made for, but for some reason i didnt hear the whole track - maybe it was just highlights or something? i really love the synths in this one. its unusual for him to bring the choral singing in the start instead of the climax of the track, but its really well done (as always)! i wish, i wiiiiiiiiish there was something happening about the new album, too.

charli's really being weird recently about everything but goddddddd this slaps so good. im usually not that big on gesaffelstein but i do love ag cook so much. its going to be such a good clubbing record like literally.... its crazy she STILL gets labeled hyperpop. i also like club classics, but b2b is TRULY superior out of this double drop....

the beat of this one is just stuck in my head at all times. its cute! fun! perfect for spring. theyre soon to release their debut album, i need to remember to check it out. while its not SOTY material so far, its just cool and pleasant.

more dance sounds - i like this one a lot! really catchy. ive never really been into 1tbsp but yeahhhhh with this one, i get it.

ok i for sure posted this one before, but its ok bc it got like 0 or 1 likes or something. starwolf is a band im really hopeful for!!!! their 2020 album was pretty interesting, but its their three last singles that got my ears all perked up. some daytime disco vibes in them, and its really cool considering i was somewhat.... underwhelmed by poolside's last album. so, i feel good about starwolf now! fingers crossed for summer, as it would be a perrrrrrrfect record to replay over and over during hot sunny days.

and SUUUUUUUUUUUCHHHHHHHHH a spring favorite for the end. kind of getting lost in this one.... number one song i keep thinking of during sweet sunny walks recently. unbelievably cute. 10000% recommend.

i feel like a good introductory band is the village people. everyone loves the village people who doesnt love the village people!!!!! id recommend macho man or honestly just. any of their songs really. come on its the village people!!

and honestly there are a lot of popular songs that are disco you probably love already. im so excited by the pointer sisters. knock on wood by amii stewart. never can say goodbye by gloria gaynor!!! all fucking bangers!! also all very high-tempo, high energy female-sung songs.

SAME WITH THE BEE GEES!!!!!! FUCKING LOVE THE BEE GEES!!!!!! nights on broadway is one of my all time favorites out of anything ever but of course youve got your classics. more than a woman. stayin alive. how deep is your love. night fever. i fucking love the bee gees dude. this is what you need in order to get the schmoovement going. listen to nights on broadway first. that song changed me from the inside out.

do i even have to say disco inferno by the trammps? anything from the saturday night fever soundtrack. do yourself a favor and watch saturday night fever also. like the last three songs i mentioned are in that movie too, the bee gees play a lot in it. fuck it can i just put the entire saturday night fever soundtrack on here? a fifth of beethoven fucking slaps. you should be dancing also rules.

i got the vinyl for the album paradise ballroom by Graeme Edge Band and so far everything on this album is disco-esque and just generally groovy as fuuuuuuck. the titular song paradise ballroom is eight minutes long and is FAN FUCKING TASTIC but dont skip on everybody needs somebody either. so far im a big fan of the whole album (listening to it as i write this)

whispering waves by donna summer also rules, very slow and groovy and romantical

this is where it gets more hodgepodge genre wise so ill just rattle some off. rubberband man by the spinners, sunny by boney m, uhhhhh does marvin gaye count? fuck it ill toss marvin gaye in there. marvin gaye has the fuck jams. so if you need a bangin soundtrack (soundtrack for bangin) then get marvin gaye on there. thats all i can think of right now i hope thats helpful!
