Tattooed Steve
now with a part 2 :)
I need tattooed Steve. Like Steve starts to get tattoos after Vecna. Maybe it’s because his body is covered in scars now, and he no longer has to hold on to the idea of permanently damaging his skin, cause like it already is. Or maybe it’s cause he’s trying to love his body again, and he sees how excited Eddie gets each time he gets to show off his tattoos. And Steve, Steve wants to feel that way too. Or maybe he likes the pain. Maybe it’s all three.
But Steve Harrington, wouldn’t be Steve Harrington if he wasn’t like massively insecure about his interests and his looks. So he keeps it a secret, for months (maybe even years depending on your tastes for slow burns). And it starts to get harder and harder because he can’t avoid tatting his arms (it’s prime real estate as Eddie put it once), and wearing long sleeves all the time isn’t ideal. But he continues the charade because let’s be real, most people in his life make him feel inadequate (big word, Robin would say) about almost everything. Especially the people he cares about.
The only one who never really makes him feel that way is Eddie. Sure he teases him to high heavens, and is absolutely disgusted by his music taste but Eddie never makes him feel stupid about it or make it seem like he doesn’t get an opinion. Which is actually kinda driving Steve nuts because it’s making it harder and harder to not to fall in love with him.
So it shouldn’t be a surprise at all that Eddie is the first to see them, he made Steve comfortable and that was dangerous. But it was hot in Eddie’s apartment (the a/c busted again), and Steve chose to wear a sweatshirt during mid-July with nothing underneath. So when Steve is sweating bullets, and Eddie just lets out an amused snort to just “take the damn thing off already”. Steve doesn’t really think. He just whips it off and leans back on the couch. It’s only after ten seconds of silence, and no eddie rambling that he realizes his mistake, and oh.
He doesn’t think he’s every seen Eddie Munson speechless.
Eddie reaches out to touch Steve without thinking (they had broken touch boundaries a long time ago, and damn it makes Steve want to kiss him so bad) and starts tracing his tattoos.
There is a bewildered look on Eddie’s face mixed with something heated. “When did you start getting these?” And oh, Steve doesn’t think he’s ever heard Eddie’s voice purr like that before. It makes Steve’s insides stir, and he’s pretty sure he would tell Eddie anything right now, do anything Eddie wanted.
“Last year, right after Vecna.” Steve’s breath hitches as Eddie slides his hands down his chest.
“Didn’t know you had it in ya big boy. Which was your first?” His eyes darken with even more heat.
Steve’s at a loss for words he can’t speak. Eddie needs to get his hands off of him if he wants him to actually respond. Instead Steve’s eyes wonder down his body where Eddie is starting to peak at the ones near his hips, and oh no…anyone but that one.
When Eddie hooks his fingers in his jeans and pulls down the right side, he freezes. Because there, right below the bat bite he and Eddie share, is a tattoo of a red guitar pick with a black and gold cursive E in the center (it’s also Steve’s only colored tattoo, despite his love of color he worries that colored ink will clash with his wardrobe).
“That’s not my first.” Steve rushes out when Eddie hasn’t said anything. “I uh, got it a couple of months ago on the anniversary of spring break. Sorry if it’s weird.”
Eddie’s eyes pop up to Steve’s, and gone is the heat. Instead there is something deeper, and much softer. “You’re an idiot.”
Steve freezes, because Eddie of all people, is now telling him something he likes is stupid. But before Steve can pull away in shame, Eddie holds his hips down and puts his face close to Steve’s. “You’re an idiot. Because of course it’s weird. And of course that’s why I absolutely love it. And it’s why I absolutely love you.”
Steve doesn’t think he’s every rushed so quickly so kiss somebody so hard before. And even when they fall off the couch, and he gets his sweat all over eddie, he can’t find it in himself to regret it one bit.
this completely got away from me, and I still need someone to write a fic like this asap, or like anything involving tattooed Steve. I also will jump for joy if someone draws something like this. Part two linked here

working with mike
(this doesn't follow the plot directly and mike works like more than just 3 shifts, also this is legit 2k words long i got so so so carried away im just so in love with mike, apologies!! its also not been proofread sorry <3)
before mike is hired alongside you, steve raglan had given you the job a week or so ago after you had lost your last job over a silly customer dispute (the customer is never right) and steve was your last hope at job, and bingo he had one. here you are 2 weeks later, waiting by your car outside the rundown pizzeria, waiting to train the new guy whose supposed to help you
a car pulls up and out comes a very pretty, but very tired/drained, looking guy, you introduce yourself with a small smile and he doesn’t return it, and is like “im mike”, you give him the benefit of the doubt that he hasn't smiled at you, new jobs are stressful.
the first shift goes fine, you tell him the basics and show him the training video tape, which alongside your commentary of making fun of some of it and nit-picking little things finally gets an amused smile from him. you can see him ease up a little. he doesn’t talk as much as you do but he seems to enjoy your ramblings.
you show him the showtime performance after he looks confused about ‘animatronics’ . watching his reaction of the animatronics rendition of talking in your sleep by the romantics is a little amusing to you but you were the same way when vanessa had shown you originally.
“its something isn’t it?” he doesn't reply, he just stood looking in disbelief.
when morning rolls around, you show him how to lock up and then give him his own key that steve had given you.
“wasn’t so bad was it?”
“it was..different”
the second shift alongside mike is different but a good different. he’s running a little late and walks in on your blasting an 80s hot pop hits tape over the old speakers, vacuuming the main dining area. a smile, that melts his heart a little, lights up your face as you see him walk in.
“im sorry i’m late the babysi-”
“hey, dont stress it. you still made it!”
he is not used to someone being so nice and friendly to him??  its foreign but he finally cracks you a small smile, watching you as you turn on the vacuum and continue listening to the music. (i need to hug him i stg)
he hasn't met anyone as nice as you in a long long time, it’s refreshing for him
and not in a creepy way !!!!!!!!!!! but he watches the cameras and watches as you just listen to the music as if the world isn’t there and continue to clean the area.
“need a hand?”
mike speaks up as you take a break leaning against a table, facing the main stage, the curtains open (as your next task is going to clean around the animatronics, it’s getting too dusty), music turned down quietly. he comes and leans against the table with you. you start small talk, saying something about the animatronics and you guys talk a little.
“so, you said something about a babysitter, do you have, like, a kid or something? sorry if im being too nosy, please tell me to shut up or something” mike cannot get over how nice you are
and then mike explains his living situation, and then the two of you get into a discussion about how families can suck and be shitty ect
and mike really likes how you don't pry or ask him lots of questions like others have done in the past, this man is really liking you and he’s only know you for two days
“this guy…must’ve been on something to make this place” and mike laughs a little !!! for the first time you got him to laugh !!
“yeah it’s something isn’t it..” both of you are sat against a table just staring at the animatronics in front of you
the two of you make small talk as you wipe down the dust covered tables but you can see how tired he is, he’s yawning a little bit.
“hey, you know, you can like sleep on the job by the way?” he looks up at you from the table, “sometimes i take a good couple hours nap in the office, no ones breaking into this place anytime soon”
he tries to protest and mentions towards the cleaning products and you brush him off, “go, you need it”
mike feels a strange warmth in his heart the hasn't felt, maybe ever? and he naps for a few hours whilst you continue to clean around. cleaning isn't in your job description but honestly you’re worried about the level of dust entering your lungs y'know
a loud thud and chair scraping noise comes from the office and you run to it and see mike on the floor, he looks confused and you help him to sit up. you ask if he’s okay but he seems out of it, “mike, whats wrong?”
sitting on the floor together, mike explains everything to you and opens up to you about a little brother he had, and tells you about his dream issues and sleep issues and you can see he’s upset and shaken by this dream. He shows you the sleeping pills and he explains the dream theory he’s been reading about.
“this is the part where somebody usually calls me crazy”
“you aren’t crazy, mike” mike notices how kind you eyes are and how warm your voice is, “i’ve seen crazy. you are far from it” you joke a little and he has the faintest smile tug at his lips.
finally home time woo !! as you lock up the gate, you watch as mike goes to his car, “mike wait!”
he turns around almost instantly at your voice as you run up to him, you pull something out from your hoodie a fazbear security badge and hand it to him, “you’re officially security now” he takes it from you and thanks you with that small smile.
3rd shift passes (you could’ve sworn foxy was standing in a different spot and bonnie’s hand placement looked completely different) and vanessa comes for her weekly visit and meets mike. when you aren’t with them, vanessa brings up the fact that you’re one of the kindest and nicest people she’s ever met and mike agrees.
next shift goes by and another and you guys have a long conversation about everything and you tell him more about yourself. hes never really been romantically involved with anyone but somebodysss got a crush (its him and well, you do too). and then you let him sleep and decide to tackle the old kitchen. (you could’ve sworn you heard someone walk down the hallway but you double check and no ones there)
mike dreams again and you swear you hear a groan and you walk to the office to see him, out of breath, breathing, clutching his arm and theres blood coming from it and he looks up at you trembling. “oh my god mike, what happened?”
you sit opposite him, patch him up and make him a hot drink, and he's explaining everything to you and you can tell he’s really getting bothered by these dreams. (you also think hes hurt himself from falling off the chair somehow..unbeknownst to you)
he’s tearing up a little and you just hold his hand in yours, and he's looking at your kind eyes and he doesn’t know how to react to being touched, he stops talking (mike is incredibly touch starved oh my god) and, carefully, you lean forward and hug him very gently.
he’s stiff at first but you can feel him relax into the hug and he wraps his non-injured arm around you and grips onto your back, “its okay mike. you’re okay” you can tell he really needs this hug and you can tell no one has really hugged him in a long time.
when the shift ends and you say goodbye for the day, your car just refuses to start. you cannot start it at all. you get out the car and look at it in a huff, but lucky for you mike hasnt driven a way yet
he gets out his car and you explain to him about your car, and he offers if you want a lift home or at least back to his house (his house is much closer than yours) and you can call someone about the car and you agree.
the drive is nice, you notice he has a great taste in music
meeting abby!! mike excuses himself for a shower whilst you're ringing the mechanics for your car, and he accidentally falls asleep on his bed after. when he wakes up (a good hour or so later, which you really don't mind) he walks into the living room to see you and abby sat on the floor colouring together with a cartoon on the tv, and you guys are really getting along and she’s wearing your security guard vest and badge. (her friends told her to trust you)
“uh abby, why dont you get ready for school?” mike speaks up, causing you both to look in his direction.
you can't fight the fact that he looks hot with joggers and shirt on, looking sleepy as hell aHHH
“okay” abby smiles and gives you back your stuff and runs off to her room to get ready for school.
he walks over to you and sits down on the couch, “im sorry for falling asleep-”
you sit next to him and place your hand on his arm and smile, “its fine, mike, really. your sister is lovely”
mike looks up from your hand and looks at your face. he looks sleepy and gorgeous and you look gorgeous to him and your eyes are so kind and theres a moment. some sort of magnetic force kinda pulls your faces closer together.
“im gonna be late!” says abby running into the room.
mike drops abby to school and you stay in his house, waiting for the mechanic to eventually call you back like he says he will. you feel a little awkward sitting on his couch watching tv but you have nothing better to do.
he comes back he offers you a shower and some of his clothes as he feels bad for you having to sit in work clothes.
the way his heart feels when he see’s you walk out to the bathroom and back to the couch next to him wearing one of his sweatshirts and a pair of his joggers as well hMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm (too early for love?)
he smells good
you must both drop off to sleep, as a few hours later mike opens his eyes for a minute to the TV showing some drama show, and then he notices a heavy feeling on his chest. there you are, passed out, in his clothes, head on his chest peacefully asleep.
this is something he’s never felt before !1!!1
he blushes (thank god you’re asleep) and brushes a hair out of your face, staring down at your sleeping face (uh oh someones in love) before grabbing the worn blanket from behind him and throwing it over your exposed legs.
you stirr a little, your arm wrapping around his lower half and he's so flustered and sleepy and aHHHH
he wraps his arm around your shoulders gently and passes out again (PART 2??)

Late (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: When Bucky overhears you telling Natasha about your period being late he immediately knows what this could mean. To ease your mind until you know for sure he tries to subtly show you that he’d be there to care for a potential child. You find yourself surprisingly happy about this possibility. (Female Reader) Word Count: 4,986 Warnings: Mild Pregnancy Scares, Talk of Menstruation, Baby Fever, No Y/N, Petnames (Doll, Sweetheart) Crossposted on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/54538210 A/N: Also, quick question, would anyone be interested in a smut fiction with Bucky, containing choking?
---
"I’m really late.”
“How late?”
“My period should have started about seven days ago. I’ve never been this late, normally I’m almost always on time.”
“That really is pretty late.” Natasha mused and turned to face you as you stood next to her on Clint’s porch, overlooking the rainy fields. You were all visiting the Bartons after Clint had gotten injured on a mission, leaving him with a broken femur and you all coming over to try to make the house easier for him to get around with his injury. “Have you talked to Bucky, yet?”
You quieted down for a second, opting to turn back toward the rain rather than look at Natasha’s face, knowing that she would urge you to talk to your partner about this. And you knew that even with such an intimate topic you could always talk to Bucky. Menstruation wasn’t a taboo subject in your relationship, so when you were on your period Bucky was aware of it and when you needed him to comfort you or run to the store to get you supplies he was quick to do so.
The two of you had also talked about the possibility of having children before and you had both agreed that one day you would love to have some of your own but that this day was still in the future. So, you knew he wanted children one day and after being with him for years you also knew that he wouldn’t react negatively to all of this. But you didn’t want to worry him because you thought that your period was late for a whole different reason.
“I was so stressed and busy lately. I even calculated when I should have ovulated and at the time we were flying around the world, trying to take down that crime syndicate.” You explained, not meeting her eyes just yet. “I’m sure it’s just the stress that delayed my ovulation and with that also my period.”
“But have you talked to Bucky about it, yet?”
“Not yet. As I said I’m pretty sure it’s just the stress I’ve been under, so it’s probably not a serious issue and I don’t want to worry him with it. I know that everyone immediately assumes that a late period means someone is pregnant, so I don’t want him jumping to conclusions when it might just be from the stress and will probably resolve itself.” You explained before turning to her. “Can we talk about something else? If I don’t get my period within the next week, I’ll talk to him, alright? But for now, let’s please change the subject.”
“Alright.” Natasha nodded and thought for a second. “How was your date night?”
Before you could answer you heard the screen door open and turned to find Bucky stepping onto the porch. Your eyes locked with his and you smiled brightly, making his face light up as you walked up to embrace him. He pulled you to his side and pressed a kiss to your head.
“Where have you been all day?”
“All around the house really, talking to Steve and Sam, helping Laura and everyone else move things around to make it easier for Clint to get around with his cast on.” Bucky said nonchalantly, leaning over to press his lips to your cheek. “I heard you talking about our date night.”
You looked up at him, worry rising in you for the flash of a second, concerned that he’d heard the previous topic of conversation. But you quickly overplayed your concerns with a bright smile as you nodded and went on to tell Natasha about the museum you’d been to where they were currently showing an exhibition about Captain America. When you started talking about how many children had been there Bucky piped up.
“Sweetheart, do you remember that young girl who recognised me as the man from one of the photos?”
You nodded quickly and turned to Natasha with a bright smile. “He was in the historical photos there and a little girl, no older than maybe five or six years old, recognised him. She was too shy to talk to him at first but we saw her pulling at her father’s sleeve and pointing Bucky out to him.”
“How cute!” Natasha smiled and looked back at Bucky. “Did you go talk to her?”
“He did.” You answered for your partner, a warm smile on your face. “He went up to her and asked her if she could point him to the display of the shields. It was such a good idea because it meant she could be the one to help Bucky.”
“That was exactly why I did it and it did the trick. It put her in charge of the situation and she pointed me to the shields. She tagged along with us as we went there, chatting away with me about how she’d read books about me and Steve, how she wanted to be just like us when she grew up and asking me all sorts of questions. “
Natasha smiled at that, putting her hands on her hips. “Sure you don’t want to switch professions and work in childcare, Buck?”
“No, I’m quite fond of the whole superhero business.” Bucky chuckled and then nodded his head toward you. “I’m also more fond of the idea of having my own children.”
Natasha shot you a pointed look but you remained quiet and simply leaned back into his side, changing the subject of the conversation to an elderly lady who had also approached Bucky after recognising him at the exhibition. Bucky’s hand tensed on your arm for the fraction of a second but before you could even look up he was already talking to Natasha again.
---
It took another hour for the rain to lighten but as soon as it did Clint’s children were outside in the garden, Cooper getting on the tyre swing and pulling out his book, Lila going back to practising her archery which the rain had interrupted her at and Nathaniel running to get his soccer ball to play with. That’s when you heard Clint calling out to all of you, asking for someone to help him get outside onto the porch. Natasha was quick to rush inside to help him while you and Bucky kept an eye on the children.
“Come on, Lila!” Nathaniel complained from down on the field as he approached his sister who put her bow down to look at him. “Why won’t you play with me?”
“I want to practice my archery, Nat.”
Nathanial groaned in annoyance before walking over to his brother. “What about you? Can we play soccer?”
“I just want to finish the chapter first.”
The boy crossed his arms and hung his head in disappointment, kicking his ball to the side and slumping down on a nearby log. You were about to go down into the garden, to try and mediate, comfort Nathaniel or offer to play soccer with him when you felt Bucky’s arm slip off your shoulder. When you turned your head to look at him you saw him giving you a small glance before walking down into the garden, waving at Nathaniel.
“I’ll play with you!”
“Really?” Nathaniel looked up, a smile immediately spreading on his face as he watched Bucky come up to him. “Thank you, Mister Barnes!”
Bucky smiled at his excitement, picking up the ball on the way. “Call me Bucky, alright?”
“Alright!” Nathaniel nodded and then moved across the field, waving Bucky after him. “You be the goalie, alright?”
“Sure, but go easy on me. I’m not a professional soccer player.”
“But you’re a superhero!”
You watched a genuine soft smile spread across Bucky’s face. “Do you think we defeat bad guys by challenging them to a game of soccer?”
Nathaniel shrugged and then grinned up at Bucky. “Have you ever tried?”
“Actually, no. I might have to give your idea a try, buddy.”
Crossing your arms over your chest you watched Bucky play soccer with Nathaniel, a soft smile spreading across your face and a warm feeling engulfing your heart. You still thought that stress was the reason for your late period but you knew that even if you were expecting Bucky would make a great father -- but then again, you had always known that. Nathaniel kept scoring goals and though you could tell that Bucky was letting the ball go in on purpose from time to time, sometimes he looked genuinly surprised at the boy’s aim. Sighing softly, you leaned against one of the wooden support beams of the porch while Natasha helped Clint sit down on a nearby chair and you watched Bucky cheer Nathaniel on.
“Sure you don’t want to talk to him?”
You winced in surprise when Natasha’s voice sounded off just beside your ear and you turned your head to find her standing right next to you. Sighing softly, you shook your head and leaned back against the beam, turning to continue watching Bucky and Nathaniel play.
“I’ll wait a couple more days but I will eventually talk to him about it.” You promised, keeping your voice down so Clint wouldn’t hear your conversation. “But I know that I have nothing to worry about. Even if I were pregnant, I think Bucky would make a great father.”
“Definitely.” Natasha said, her smile evident in her voice as she whispered back to you. “If you want to wait a few more days, do so. But you have nothing to worry about. He’s a good guy and he will stand by you no matter what happens.”
“I never doubted that.”
A clap of thunder made everyone look up at the sky and Clint called out to the children to come back inside. They didn’t have to be told twice. Lila started packing up her things while Cooper got off the swing to head for the porch. Nathaniel clutched the ball to his chest as he looked up at the sky in fear but Bucky was quick to react, crouching down next to him and holding out his metal arm to him.
“Hold on and I’ll carry you inside. We’ll be super fast, I promise.”
Nathaniel turned to look at Bucky and at another encouraging nod from the man he grabbed onto the metal arm’s biceps, holding on tightly as your partner stood up, lifting the boy off the ground and leaving him dangling from the arm. While they set out for the porch, you could hear Nathaniel laughing as he swung back and forth on Bucky’s arm, his hands clasped tightly around his biceps. What stood out to you was the fact that Bucky’s eyes kept flicking over to yours, almost as if to see whether or not you were looking at him. But you couldn’t really think about that observation because you found yourself distracted by a strange sense of longing settling in your chest.
---
It was two days later that you two found yourself in a furniture store, looking for a new dresser and despite your period still being late, you were no longer focused on the worry you felt about that and more thinking about the longing you had felt when watching Bucky play with Nathaniel two days prior. It made you wonder if having a child with Bucky was something that you might want sooner rather than later.
“I cannot believe we broke your dresser.”
You shushed Bucky, heat rising to your cheeks as you remembered how exactly the dresser had broken and how much teasing you had already had to endure from your fellow Avengers. “Will you keep it down?”
“You didn’t tell me that last night.” Bucky grinned and wrapped an arm around your shoulders when he saw you roll your eyes, leaning over to press a kiss to your cheek. “But then again, that is part of the reason why we’re here.”
Once more you rolled your eyes but you couldn’t help but chuckle as you leaned into him. “Just remind me that we’re only here for a dresser when I will inevitably find twenty other things that might come in handy. I need you to be the voice of reason here and tell me I don’t need every little thing I see.”
Bucky chuckled at that and threw you a playfully wary glance. “I don’t know if I can turn down any of your wishes, Doll.”
The two of you kept walking until you came to the department for children’s furniture beyond which you knew lay the department for regular bedrooms. As you walked past the displays of cribs and bunk beds, the walls behind them decorated in images of stars with stuffed animals and mobiles all around, you felt a strange longing return. You cuddled closer against Bucky’s side, making him turn to you but you didn’t see his facial expression because you kept looking around. He was quiet for a few seconds before he leaned over to press a kiss to your head.
“When we have a kid one day, what theme would you choose for their nursery?”
You blinked in surprise at his question, noticing how the longing feeling lightened just the smallest amount at the first word of the sentence and you couldn’t stop yourself from asking the first thing that came to your mind. “When?”
“We spoke about having children one day. Is it a surprise that I use ‘when’ instead of ‘if’?” Bucky gave you a comforting smile. “So tell me, what theme would you choose for our future child?”
“The space theme.” You smiled softly, looking back at the displays. “Imagine our baby sleeping under those glow-in-the-dark stars or under a mobile of the planets. It would also fit so well because our first proper date was to an exhibition about space travel.”
Bucky’s smile was clear in his voice when he spoke up. “I like that idea a lot.”
You leaned closer to him again and his hand came up to squeeze your shoulder lovingly as you two started walking again. But your peace was interrupted when you rounded the corner to find a couple fighting over what sounded like the choice of a crib, making you stop in your tracks. Against your better judgment, you spoke up, directing their attention to you and Bucky.
“What’s wrong? Do you need help?”
The blond woman rolled her eyes and nodded to the redhead next to her. “My wife here thinks we should get the crib with the wooden frame but it’s much more expensive than the metal frame one.”
“Yes, I know that but I think a crib is not the piece of furniture to cut costs at.” The redhead crossed her arms and shook her head. “Our baby is going to sleep in that bed every night. If you want to cut costs anywhere why not on something like the dresser? If that’s a bit cheaper it won’t be as bad!”
“Would you like an outsider’s opinion on it?”
Both women turned to look at Bucky who took his arm off you to approach the two and they gave him a shrug, agreeing in almost perfect unison that someone else’s opinion might be helpful for their situation. You watched with an interested expression as Bucky smiled and inspected the cribs for a few minutes, reading their descriptions and taking a closer look at them before he turned to the two women again.
“I wouldn’t get either of these.”
“Why not?”
Bucky glanced at you as he spoke up again, once again seemingly making sure that you were paying attention before he said anything. “The one with the metal frame may be an inexpensive one but the mattress that comes with it is not tight fitting enough and that’s a safety hazard for the baby.”
The blonde woman quickly distanced herself from the metal frame crib to examine the wooden one once more. “Why can’t we choose the wooden framed one? The mattress fits better than the one in the other crib.”
“It does but it has those cloud-shaped cutouts on the headboard. The baby’s head or limbs could get caught in it and that’s a safety hazard, too.”
“I totally forgot about that. We even looked up crib safety before coming here and I forgot.” The redhead mumbled and sighed, turning to her wife. “And I’m sorry for going off at you like that. I’ve been so stressed lately.”
“I get it, I wasn’t any better. It’s all forgotten, don’t worry.” The blonde sighed and took her wife’s hand into hers before turning to Bucky. “Got any recommendations on what crib to buy?”
Bucky smiled and nodded toward a crib a few metres away. “I’d get this one. I know that it’s a bit more expensive than the other two but it is convertible, so it can be turned into a toddler bed. It will last you two much longer, so I’d say it’s worth the price.”
“It would look great with the changing table we picked out.”
“It would.” The redhead agreed to her wife before smiling at Bucky. “Thanks for the help, we really appreciate it.”
The blonde nodded before turning to smile at you. “You got yourself a very knowledgable baby daddy there. He’s a keeper.”
Bucky smirked proudly as he turned back at you, watching you come over to embrace his arm and look back at the two women. You didn’t correct the first statement and you didn’t even question why as you answered. “He really is a keeper.”
---
After buying a new dresser the two of you had decided to get lunch together and take a walk around the park afterwards. Your hand was in his as you walked down the walkways, passing by the other people in the park until you heard something that made you stop dead in your tracks. Someone was crying and it sounded like a child. Bucky seemed to have also heard it because he looked around for the source of it before his eyes stilled on a spot next to a large patch of shrubbery. You followed his gaze and found a young girl, no older than four years old sitting on the ground, legs drawn up to her chest and face buried in her arms as she hugged her knees. Before Bucky could react you were approaching her, calling out to her so you wouldn’t startle her as you came close.
“Are you alright?”
“I want my Daddy.” The girl sobbed brokenly but she looked up at you and only then could you see the bloody scrapes on her knees. “I-- I saw a kitty and went after it and-- and I got lost and I fell and my knees hurt real bad!”
You felt concern and pity wash over you at seeing the girl so distraught and hearing that she was lost, so you knelt down next to her. “How about my friend and I help you find your way back to your family?”
“You would? But-- But I don’t know where to look and-- and my knees hurt.”
“Let me check to see if I got some bandaids in my purse.” You said softly and began rummaging through your purse as Bucky crouched down next to you. When you found your small first aid kit you held it up triumphantly. “Look at that, we can patch you up and find your family, alright?”
She was still crying but she let you put bandaids on her knees after spraying some wound disinfectant spray on them. The sting of the spray made her cry even harder but when Bucky let her hold his hand, she calmed down a little. You ignored how he was once more eyeing you as you helped the girl.
“You did so well. You were really brave.” You smiled at her before sitting back on your haunches and introducing yourself by name. “And what’s your name?”
“Penny.”
“It’s nice to meet you Penny.” Bucky said softly, smiling at her. “I’m Bucky.”
Penny wiped her eyes and when you got up, offering her a hand to help her stand she accepted it. Once on her feet, she kept her hand firmly in yours as you surveyed the area, hoping to find someone who looked like they were searching for her.
“What is the last thing you remember? Were you at a playground or a picnic area? Do you remember anything like that maybe?”
“We were at a fountain.” Penny mused, her index finger on her chin as she thought. “We were taking a break.”
Bucky looked back at you with a smile. “I know where they might be. There’s a big water fountain not far from here. We should start there.”
Penny looked up at you before pulling at your hand. “Can you carry me, pretty please? My knees really hurt.”
“Of course.” You smiled and bent down to pick her up, letting her wrap her arms around you as you set out with Bucky leading the way. “Let’s get you back to your Daddy.”
The three of you walked for about ten minutes, with Penny telling you all about her day and you listening intently, only interrupting her to ask questions to keep her talking. Bucky kept glancing back at you, a soft smile on his face. When you came to the fountain you were immediately greeted by a panicked-looking man that Penny quickly reached out to.
“You found her! Thank you so much!” He exclaimed as he took her into his arms and held her close. “I looked away for five seconds to talk to my wife and when I turned back Penny was gone.”
“I saw a kitty, Daddy.” Penny explained before pointing at her knees. “And I fell and hurt myself. But the nice couple helped me and gave me bandaids.”
“Again, thank you so much.” Her father said with a smile. “I hope you didn’t have to search for us for too long.”
“Not at all. Penny was really smart and told us you were at a fountain.” You explained, taking Bucky’s hand and nodding to him. “And Bucky knew where the fountain was so it was no trouble finding you.”
“But even if it had been, we wouldn’t have minded. There’s no need to thank us.” Bucky explained, squeezing your hand and smiling at the man. “We’ll be on our way then.”
“Have a good rest of your day. And again thank you.”
Penny smiled at the two of you, waving from her father’s arms. “Bye-bye!”
You two waved back at her, said your goodbyes and then left to head back to the car. On the way, your hand migrated from Bucky’s hand to hold onto his biceps. Your head leaned against his shoulder and he turned his head to look at you with a small smile.
“You would be a great mother.”
The longing was back and by now you knew exactly what it meant. And you wondered if he felt the same, given how many references to having children he’d made during the past few days, from speaking about it to Natasha to asking about potential nursery themes with you to flat-out telling you you would be a great mother. The glances he kept sending your way whenever either of you interacted with a child or talked about anything that had to do with child-rearing made you question if he was doing all this on purpose.
“You think so?”
“Definitely.” He said and then looked back ahead, a gentle smile spreading across his features. “I cannot wait to have a family with you one day.”
You decided to keep the fact that there was a slim chance that day might come sooner rather than later to yourself for the time being, opting to wait a few more days. Yet, you suspected that you wouldn’t even have to tell him about your worries because by now you were sure that he’d heard all you had said to Natasha. It seemed that Bucky was trying to show you that he’d be ready to raise a child with you. And you were surprised at how happy you were about that slim chance that you might have been pregnant.
“I can’t wait, either.”
---
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been doing.”
Bucky looked up from where he was putting away the dishes, giving you a confused look. You just leaned against the counter next to him, giving him a warm and thankful smile because now you not only knew what he had been doing but you also had an inkling as to why he’d been doing it.
“What do you mean, Doll?”
“Showing me how good you are with kids, how well prepared you would be for raising a child, talking about how much you want to have a child with me, telling me that I’d be a great mother and always making sure I saw how good you were at everything to do with childcare.” You explained softly, reaching out to take his hand into yours. “Thank you.”
“What are you thanking me for?”
“You overheard me talking to Natasha two days ago, didn’t you?”
“How you talked to her about your period being late?” He asked and when you nodded, so did he. “Yes, I overheard it before I came outside.”
“And I assume you thought it meant I might be pregnant.” When he nodded, you gave him a soft smile. “Did you do all of that to show me that you’d be ready to raise a child with me should I be pregnant?”
Bucky nodded and turned to face you fully now, moving so he could take both your hands into his. “I want you to know that should you ever have the suspicion that you’re pregnant you can talk to me and that I’d be willing to step up to be a father in an instant.”
“I love you so much, Bucky.” You said and pressed a small kiss to his cheek before drawing back again. “But we won’t need to worry about that for now. I got my period just after I got out of the shower, so I’m definitely not pregnant.”
Saying it out loud made you feel almost sad or disappointed but you tried your best to overplay these feelings. But Bucky was a very observant person, especially when it came to your emotions, and the frown on his face showed that he’d realised that you weren’t all too happy at the moment.
“Are you happy about it?”
“It would have definitely been a big change and a very sudden, unplanned one at that.”
“That’s not what I asked, Sweetheart. Are you happy about it?”
You swallowed at his question and shook your head. “Not completely, no. I’m obviously happy that nothing unplanned has happened because I know that it-- it would have been a big and sudden change. But these past few days I’ve seen how prepared you truly are for a child and how good you are with children and-- and you got called my baby daddy and you kept talking about how much you were looking forward to us having children. I really started liking the idea of having a child with you, James.”
“Come here, Sweetheart.” Bucky whispered as he heard the sadness in your voice and immediately drew you into a tight embrace. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault.” You protested through the tears in your voice but you held on to him nonetheless. “I just got so-- so excited about possibly being pregnant but I knew from the start that it was likely not the reason why my period was late.”
“Yes, I heard you talk to Natasha about that, too.”
“But that doesn’t change the fact that I felt so excited, so happy and so ready for it.”
Bucky gently drew back from you, mustering your face for a few seconds before he spoke up again. “You feel ready to have a baby?”
“Yes.” You nodded after a small pause before you looked up at him again. “But if you’re not ready then please don’t feel forced to do anything you don’t want to just to make me happy. I can wait, I promise.”
“Doll, what about the things I did and said in the last days makes you think I’m not also more than ready to have a child with you?”
“You want to try for a child?”
“I think we should try for a baby if we’re both ready.”
“I like that idea.”
You squeaked in surprise when Bucky all but hoisted you onto the counter behind you, capturing your lips in a kiss as he got between your legs to get closer to your body. The kiss deepened as he tipped you back and pulled you closer, and when he pulled back you gave him a breathless laugh.
“For the record, I didn’t ask you to impregnate me right this instant.”
“Then I think some signals got mixed there.” Bucky chuckled and pressed a kiss to your head. “But if we’re going to try, what’s stopping us from starting now?”
“For one, I’m on my period right now.”
Bucky leaned over to gently kiss your jaw. “If you’re uncomfortable with sleeping with me right now then obviously we’re not going to and I respect that. But if you’re worried that I’ll be uncomfortable, let me just tell you that a little blood doesn’t scare me.”
“I think we can wait a few more days to start trying.” You chuckled softly, running your hand up and down his neck. “There’s no need to be in such a hurry.”
“Of course, Doll. Whatever you want.” Bucky said and drew back to give you a warm smile. “I guess I’m simply excited to start a family with you.”
“I am excited to start a family with you, too.”

Had this random thinky thought the other day.
Pre-S4 Steddie are dating. Have been for a decent amount of time. They haven’t told everyone, but a few people know (Robin, Dustin). The thing, though, is that Wayne doesn’t know. Oh, he knows that Eddie has a boyfriend. He’s seen Eddie’s eyes light up like stars when he starts talking about this boy. About how beautiful he is. About how strong he is. And, most often, about how kind he is. After the buildup he’s been given, Wayne is pretty positive there’s no way for this mystery boy to live up to Eddie’s description. Especially with how loveblind his nephew is. But if the way Eddie lights up at the mere thought of him is any indication, he must be something special.
“Invite him over for dinner sometime, son. I’m dyin’ to meet this guy.”
Eddie agrees. And plans are made. But for whatever reason, said plans fall through. And keep falling through.
But then.
The events of S4 happen.
Steve manages to save Eddie, like he should have done in canon (but I digress). They end up in the hospital, and someone gets in touch with Wayne, who shows up almost immediately. And who does he see at his unconscious (severely injured) nephew’s bedside but Steve fucking Harrington.
Now I’m not saying that Wayne assumes the absolute worst upon seeing ‘King Steve’ Harrington in that room (the worst being that Steve has something to do with Eddie’s condition), but he does make his assumptions based on what he knows and remembers about Steve’s parents (especially his dad). Said assumptions are… not great.
He basically kicks Steve out. And Steve just… goes. Robin tries to protest on his behalf, but Steve tells her it’s okay. “Eddie needs him now,” he says.
Eddie doesn’t wake up for several days. Any time Wayne isn’t with him, Steve sneaks in. And gets kicked out again when Wayne comes back. Wayne, for his part, is getting more and more exasperated with his dedication.
But then Eddie wakes up, finally. Wayne and Dustin are there when he does. The latter leaves to give Eddie and Wayne their privacy for a tearful reunion, but he also calls Steve. A little while later, Steve shows up. He and Wayne lock eyes, and Wayne bristles a bit. He’s straightening up, preparing to kick him out yet again, before Eddie turns. And his entire face lights up in a brilliant smile. His eyes sparkle like twin stars.
“Stevie!” He says, imbuing the name with more emotion than Wayne ever expected.
Steve almost trips over his own feet to get to Eddie’s bedside, where he takes Eddie’s hand in his, twining their fingers together. He looks like he might cry.
And Wayne suddenly understands everything.
He lets them talk for a moment. They’ve seemingly forgotten he’s even there. There are soft loving affirmations, sweet names, and maybe even a kiss or two, before he clears his throat. The boys spring apart (Steve springs, at least), but don’t let go of each other’s hands.
“I really wish we could have gotten to meet each other over dinner instead, boys,” he says, gruff as always.
Steve looks nervous, but Eddie’s just embarrassed.
“Uhm,” Steve starts.
Wayne gently cuts him off. “I think you and I might have gotten off on the wrong foot.” And that wrong foot is entirely on me, he thinks.
Eddie looks between the two of them, confused.
“That’s okay,” Steve is quick to say. “You were just-“
Wayne cuts him off again, moving to the other side of the bed, hand outstretched.
“Wayne Munson.”
Steve hesitates, exchanging a glance with Eddie (who’s still terribly confused), before taking Wayne’s hand with his free one, shaking it.
“Steve Harrington,” he says as if Wayne didn’t recognize him on sight a few days prior.
“It’s nice to meet you Steve.” Wayne smiles. “Nice to finally see for myself the kid who makes Eddie smile like that.”
There are further discussions to be had. Eddie is angry (and a little heartbroken) to discover what’s been going on while he slept (“YOU KICKED HIM OUT HOW MANY TIMES???”), but in the end, it all works out. Eddie’s name is cleared. He (and everyone else!) makes a full and complete recovery (plus a few gnarly scars). And Wayne finally, finally, gets to sit down to dinner with his nephew, and his nephew’s boyfriend.

Eddie manages the band's TikTok when they are on tour. The content is mostly behind the scenes of them on the road, news about where they will be going next, band practice, jam sessions, etc. The boys have been friends since high school and get along amazingly, like family. But also like shit, just like family. So there are also videos of Eddie laughing while Frank yells at Jeff for farting on his pillow in the tour bus or Eddie filming himself while running as Gareth chases after him for eating the last cookie. HIS last cookie.
The channel is pretty popular even though it doesn't update often. And the links to their merch store and ticket store while on tour, help a lot with the band's expenses. Music being online makes people buy fewer albums and vinyls. And Spotify paying 0,03 cents per song makes being an up-and-coming band that needs money to rent a studio for recording, bus fares, hotel accommodations and to pay the roadies and technicians… kinda hard.
But the TikTok helps! So Chrissy, Eddie's best friend, Gareth's fiance, and their manager, suggests that Eddie keeps the TikTok going while on break from tour.
It doesn't take long to come up with the perfect idea. Restoring Eddie's old van to make it a small house on wheels for road-tripping. But they’ll need a handyman, someone who knows what they are doing.
Luckily, Chrissy has a solution to that. Her cousin Vicky, just came back from traveling the coast on a huge RV with her girlfriend and her girlfriend’s best friend and, according to Vicky, the man is an expert. He built the whole thing himself, from the ground up. So Chrissy tells Vicky, who asks Robin, who talks to Steve, and the meeting is set up.
On the day of the meeting, Eddie parks the van outside his place, sits on the back, and hits record on his phone, “Morning!” he says to the camera, squinting one eye as the sun hits his face because it’s actually noon, “I’m gonna do something fun during the tour break and I wanted to take yall with me. You see, ever since I was young, I've had this dream. Well, other than becoming a musician who can live off his music, thank you for that by the way,” he smiles and tips an invisible hat towards the camera. “The second thing I've always wanted is having one of those built-in movin' houses, a little RV, a camping van, you know the ones” he wiggles his brows and moves the phone a little around him, to show where he’s sitting so people know where he’s going with this.
“Sooo I asked a friend of a friend of a friend, who is an expert on making dreams come true, to help me and we are gonna mod my van. My lovely Haley, my faithful baby, who has been with me since the beginning… I'm scared. This dude better be good.” he laughs nervously.
part two -> 📱💞🚙
And then his focus shifts to something behind his phone, “Oh, here he comes now!” he waves enthusiastically and keeps looking, either forgetting he’s still filming his reaction or too distracted to save face, he squints a little and then frowns, blushes and, chuckles nervously again, “Oh no. he’s hot.”
☕🥐💕 coffee? by the lake's shore?

tony gets kidnapped on his way to a business meeting or something and he goes with it because they’re in a pretty crowded area and he doesn’t want some innocent bystanders getting hurt in the scuffle. the team will notice eventually and his overprotective boyfriend captain american is going to 1. notice very quickly and 2. freak the fuck out, so he’s not really risking much here
also these kidnappers are sort of stupid and he’s not really worried about escaping later. except even though they’re stupid they mention things about the avengers and shield that they really shouldn’t know so tony decides to stick around to see if he can figure out if they lucked into hacking past his security (not likely) or if there’s some sort of mole
except the leader and the underlings get in an argument right in front of him because apparently they were supposed to capture captain america, not iron man, and the guy who grabbed him is like no, no, this is better! we have his boyfriend so we can lure him here instead!
meanwhile tony is just stating in disbelief that these idiots manage to string two thoughts together. there has to be mole. or someone else really in charge. or something.
and the leader is like fine whatever. he takes tony’s phone and opens the contacts and snorts, “this is what you have him saved us? pathetic”
tony looks at the contact labeled <3 <3 love of my life light in the dark wind beneath my wings <3 <3 and is sort of glad he’s gagged so he can’t say anything
he still doesn’t really know what’s going on and jarvis is still trying to hack their system an there’s no harm in sticking around a little longer since these people are. you know. idiots
except approximately fifteen minues later rhodey is busting down the wall and taking out all these guys in thirty seconds flat and tony slips out of the ropes that he’d undone about five minutes after being put into them (thanks nat) and pulls down the gag and says, “i thought you were on radio silence on a mission in ghana”
“i thought you could be trusted on your own, so it looks like we’re both wrong,” rhodey says. “what were you playing at?”
“i would have told you not to come if i’d known you’d get the message,” he protests. “i was working an angle here, okay, jarvis are you into their systems yet?”
“yes,” his trusty ai says from his phone from one of the kidnapper’s pockets. “tracing the origin of their financial backer now.”
“you really didn’t have to stay kidnapped for jarvis to do that,” rhodey points out, brushing him off and checking him for injuries.
tony shrugs. “i didn’t want to risk one of them getting away and tipping them off. take care of them i could. do it before they got a signal out without the suit? maybe not.”
this very reasonable discussion is interrupted by the rest of the avengers coming in swinging and then left blinking except for steve who feels the need to fuss over him while tony whines and complains and pretends he doesn’t love it
he says they were after steve anyway, he was just bait and steve frowns and is like well, why didn’t they try and contact me then? we knew something was wrong because of the stark industries security footage
and natasha, the sneak, has picked tony’s phone from the kidnapper’s pocket. he lunges for it but she skips back from him and says, “well it looks like they tried. they just messaged the wrong person”
steve takes the phone and sees the contact name and that the kidnappers sent the message we have your boyfriend and if you don’t do exactly what we say you’ll never see him again and is like. this is what rhodey is saved as in your phone?? what am i??
“look, the things is, it’s not like i actually use anyone’s contact, or look at it, i just tell jarvis who to call, so you really shouldn’t take this personally,” tony says.
steve types in his own number and stares in disbelief. “captain? i’m saved in your phone as CAPTAIN?”
“okay well when you gave me your number we weren’t dating and also you were being very mean to me at the time, so,” he says, resisting the urge to hide behind rhodey because he doesn’t think that will help
steve turns his gaze to rhodey. “what is tony saved as in your phone?”
“i really don’t think that’s relevant,” he answers, looking back at the hole in the wall like he’s considering flying out of it.
“jarvis, what’s tony saved as in rhodey’s contacts?” steve asks.
tony says, “j, don’t-“
“sir is saved in colonel rhodes’s contacts as baby,” jarvis answers.
clint is laughing so hard he’s going to break a rib. natasha raises an eyebrow, which is about the same thing
steve’s face is pure betrayal
“it’s because he’s an infant,” rhodey says, “and very needy and he throws up on me a lot.”
“hey!” tony scowls. “i haven’t done that in years!”
“and when you were texted about your boyfriend being kidnapped, you just knew it was tony?” steve asks.
rhodey shrugs. “well, who else would it be?”
even steve doesn’t have an answer to that
“it’s purely platonic,” tony says reassuringly, “carol would scratch my eyes out.”
steve scowls and sulks until tony changes his contact name
except now he’s in tony’s phone as captain handsome. he tells himself it’s an upgrade

☄. *. ⋆ ┄ Feel Good
summary: you don't come. ever. well... not until steve harrington comes along. pairing: steve harrington / f!reader warnings: the longest headcanon ever, talks of shitty boyfriends and masturbation, pure smut 18+ mdni! a/n: if you saw this before the repost... no you didn't. and to the anon that requested this: i hope you like it!
( MASTERLIST )
you don't come
this is not an exaggeration
it's purely a statement of fact
because you’ve never ever had an orgasm
not one
not with your fingers, not with a toy, not with a partner, not ever
you get pretty close sometimes
if you're in the right mindset and you have enough time (and a partner who isn't totally focused on their own pleasure
you can actually get really, really close
it’s kinda like climbing a steep mountain and nearly reaching the top
or seeing a glimmer light at the end of the dark tunnel
it always ends the same way, though
you fall from the peak. darkness swallows you whole. the feeling of bliss swells and then disappears entirely.
some of your partners have come up with their own theories
one said you internalized your religious upbringing and turn away from pleasure without thinking
another insisted that it wasn’t their fault they couldn’t make you come because your clit was just too small
the last one told you that you just “needed to love yourself more”
it was exhausting, quite honestly
your partners became your therapist, trying to pry into your mind and diagnose you accordingly
you were an experiment to them
they tried every position and motion to try and get you there, though sometimes it felt like they were only doing it because it felt good for them
some didn’t bother trying at all
they got frustrated with you, called you broken, and left to find someone “normal”
and it fucking sucked
so somewhere down the line, you just started faking it
because that was easier than having those uncomfortable conversations and waiting until they inevitably left you
that ultimately led to you avoiding relationships all together
and then you met steve
and you liked steve
screw that, you liked liked steve
he wasn’t like all the rest of the partners that fucked you over
and for the first time in a long time, you had a really good feeling about the whole thing
but you were terrified of screwing it up
and you were also terrified of lying to him
you were able to avoid it for the most part
that is, until he was about to go down on you for the first time
he’s got you on your back with his head between your legs
you tense when he presses a kiss to your thigh
“you okay?”
“i don’t come” you blurt
“…what?”
“i don’t know why. i’ve just never been able to. and it’s not because of you, okay? so i don’t want you to think you’re doing something wrong or that i don’t want to do this, because holy shit i wanna do this so bad—”
and you’re just rambling
mostly because you feel like if you keep talking, it’ll keep him from saying something you don’t wanna hear
steve just nods and shoots you a small smile from between your legs
“that’s ok :)”
and you breathe out the biggest sigh of relief
because no one’s ever not made a huge deal about it
“can i still make you feel good?”
you just nod down at him bc you don’t trust your voice to say something intelligible
he gives you head that night and he’s good
he’s great actually
but you don’t come
the sex is even better
he makes an effort to find ways that’ll make it feel better for you
he’ll put pillows beneath your hips and push your legs up towards your chest when he’s on top of you
he’ll tell you all the ways to position yourself when you’re on top of him
with one leg bent and your foot flat on the bed so he’s hitting your sweet spot every time he drills into you
and it’s never about him
it never feels like he’s doing crazy positions to exploit you under the guise of “blowing your mind”
most guys only wanted to get you off so that they could feel like some kind of sex god
but steve genuinely wants you to feel good
and he’s so willing to learn your body to help you feel good
one time he sat himself behind you with his chin hooked over your shoulder
“show me how you do it” he said to you
and you did
but it didn't feel like you were some experiment to him either
it was so fucking hot
he made a show out of it, asking you to tell him everything you were doing to yourself and how it felt
“does that feel good?”
“it feels so good—” you interrupt yourself as your mouth falls open in a silent moan and your legs start to tense up
“oh that’s the spot, huh?”
and he likes to learn about all the times you’ve gotten the closest
even though to you it’s mortifying
you’re red in the face the entire time you tell him the only time you ever thought you might actually come was with the shower head
you get embarrassed and hide your face in his shoulder
he’s just like “no, it’s sexy! we can try that if you want?”
but you’re scared that might be a little too exposing and that there would be way too much pressure on you
as always, he’s the most understanding person on the planet
“that’s okay. we don’t have to do anything you don’t wanna do. ever.”
and he makes you feel so safe and cared for
even when you get defeated
because both of you try so hard but you just can’t get there
and after he’s spent an hour between your legs switching between his fingers and his mouth
you start crying out of pure and utter frustration
“steve stop. just stop. there’s no point. let’s just quit.”
and obv when you tell him to stop he’s gonna stop
but he can tell how sad you are when your back is to him and you're putting your clothes back on
and he tries not to smile when you get all twisted in your bra bc you’re so moody that you don’t put it on the right way
“it’s okay baby, we can keep trying—”
“no, steve, it’s not okay! i just don’t get why i can’t be like normal people!”
“there’s nothing wrong with you, okay? some girls just have a harder time than others. it’s okay to come less than other people”
“less?” you scoff “how about never?”
and he’s still patient with you
even while you’re ranting and getting all angry at him and yourself
“i don’t even know why you still try! it’s never gonna happen, okay? ever. you get that, right? there’s no point in trying. you should just find someone else—”
that’s when he stops you
“okay. that’s enough.”
he walks to you where you’re standing in nothing but your bra and underwear and your jeans that you shoved on but didn't button before you started ranting
“it doesn’t matter if you come or not— well, it does, but that’s not what this is about, okay? it doesn’t have to be about having an orgasm. when i’m with you, it doesn’t feel like i’m trying to accomplish something. it’s just about two people who love each other, spending time together, and feeling good”
“…you love me?”
“…was that not obvious?”
the two of you spend the rest of the night cuddling after that
and he’s adamant about not making it about sex
though he keeps having to apologize for his boner pressing into your back
a few days later he surprises you with a present, all wrapped up in with a pretty bow on top
“is it christmas?” you joke at the reindeer patterned wrapping paper
“sorry. that’s all i could find at the house.”
and it’s this huge fuck off vibrator that you know must’ve costed a fortune
you’re totally flustered when you open it and you have no idea what to do with yourself
but he’s so smiley and tells you that he wants to try it with you
and it’s really fucking good
it makes the already amazing sex that much better
you’re on your sides with him pressed against your back
and he holds it against your clit while he fucks you from behind
(he’s having an even better time too because he can feel the vibrations of it from inside of you)
you get the closest you’ve ever been like that
he watches intently when you press your face into your pillow
“are you close?”
you nod wordlessly
“i think… fuck— i think i might come”
and he starts fucking you harder, finding your spot and hitting it over and over again with the vibe still pressed attentively to your clit
a cry rises in your throat and escapes your mouth
and right when you think you might actually have your first orgasm
it fucking goes away
“fuck!”
steve can tell it’s not an exclamation of pleasure, but one of anger
he asks if you wanna keep going
you tell him he can until he comes but that you’re not gonna get there
like a doctor, he prescribes masturbation
and you spend exactly one week using the vibrator by yourself and trying to use it different ways that get you closer and closer
you’re on your back with it pressed into your opening while fiercely rubbing at your clit
and you feel yourself getting closer and closer and closer
it builds in an achingly familiar way
but when the feeling usually starts to ebb, it keeps going
the pleasure crescendos, numbs, and then explodes
having the house to yourself, you don’t bother holding back the noises, the almost painful sounding moans, as they spill from your mouth
the first thing you do when your senses return to you, is call steve
even though it’s 2 a.m.
and when he answers, he’s all groggy with sleep but he’s immediately ecstatic for you
he’s over at your place in ten minutes tops after your promise of recreating it for him
and you’re just absolutely gushing about it and thanking him a ton
because he’s the one who got you the vibrator after all
he wants you to tell him everything so you do
you tell him how you were laying and what you where thinking about
*cough cough* him
and what your fingers were doing and how the real trick was putting the vibe partly inside of you
and you don’t think about how it might make him insecure until the words are spilling from your mouth
because you’ve known guys in the past who get intimidated by dildos and vibrators out of fear that they could never compete with them
steve does express a little bit of that insecurity
he tries to cover it up by joking about how much bigger the toy is than his dick and how pretty soon he’ll be replaced altogether
and he’s laughing but you can tell it isn’t genuine because it doesn’t reach his eyes
so you tell him that you love every single part of him including his dick and that him ‘getting replaced’ is never happening in a million, billion years
when you start trying to get yourself to come again you make sure he’s involved too
both of you are kneeling on your bed and you’re gripping the headboard while he’s fucking into you from behind
one hand is clutching yours and the other is rubbing at your clit
you’ve got the vibrator pressed where you and steve meet
and you can feel him all over you
he’s mouthing at your neck and shoulder
and using his free hand to hold you and tease your nipples
you feel the pleasure start to build and your face scrunches up while you moan
and steve talks you all the way through it
“there you go. you got it— no, don’t tense up, baby, just let it happen... uh-huh, there it is. come for me, baby. come for me.”
and you do
catastrophically so
you tense so hard it almost hurts and you’re shaking like a leaf in his hold
the pleasure is numbing at first before hitting you like a fuck freight train
and you’d be embarrassed about the noises you were making if it didn’t feel so damn good and steve wasn’t praising you the entire way through
“there you go, baby. feels good, huh? you’re so— fuck, you’re getting so tight around me. can barely… holy shit… i can barely fucking move—”
you’re laughing in pure bliss when you feel him coming inside of you
he presses his weight against you and sprinkles wet kisses to your neck, humming praises onto your skin
when you come down and collect your bearings you confess to him, still caught in the post-sex haze, “it didn’t… it didn’t feel like that before…”
“no?”
“uh-uh. felt, like, a thousand times fucking better… 'cause you were here”
and he gets all sweet and blushy, saying he didn’t really do much
but you tell him that it was all him and that he helped you a ton
that he always helps you
“you’re the best sex i’ve ever had steve harrington, orgasm or not”
and this boy is blushing so hard you can see it in the tips of his ears
both of you are love-drunk and happy and dazed
he spends the rest of the night fucking you into your mattress

Hi!! I was wondering if you could please do the outsiders gang with a little Curtis sister!reader? Like readers a year younger than ponyboy? Also can it be hc’s please?

𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 - Ahhhhh, i literally love this concept so much. Hope ya'll enjoy and as always my asks are still open for requests!!

𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 - none!!

The gang are so protective of you oh my god
You may only be a year younger than Pony but they will still bend over backwards to ensure that you are safe.
You are Darry’s whole world. He cares about you so much that it’s almost suffocating. If anything happens to you, you best believe he is sticking up for you in a heartbeat.
Sometimes it can get a little frustrating. The boys will baby you and you will have to stand your ground when they get a little too much.
You are never allowed to walk home alone, and I mean never. There will always be someone there to walk you to and from wherever it is you need to go. It’s dangerous out there and they will not risk you being jumped.
Speaking of which, if you did ever happen to get jumped, the gang is by your side in seconds. Dallas, Steve, and Darry will literally put someone in the hospital for you if need be.
You give the boys a run for their money. If they get put on “baby-sitting” duty you show them pretty quickly that you don’t need looking after.
Sodapop is your best friend and you can’t tell me otherwise. He’s that person you can go to when you’ve got a problem and actually feel comforted afterwards. He’ll take you to the DX with him and let you help out as well as letting you take whatever you want from the store. Steve doesn’t really like it (he’s jealous that you’re stealing away his best friend) but he warms up to you being around after a while.
Going to the movies with Ponyboy and hanging out in the lot with him and Johnny after!!
If you think Darry is hard on Pony, just wait until you get home a few minutes past curfew. He will go mental. Like I said, he cares a whole lot about you and isn’t gonna have your future wasted. Sure, he has near impossible expectations for you a lot of the time, but just talk to him and he’ll try to go easy.
The other kids at school hardly ever mess with you. They’ve seen how scary your brothers and the rest of the gang are and they really aren’t looking to be spending their days in hospital.
If you’re struggling in classes, Pony will drop everything to help you out. You will both sit and study until Darry is on your ass about getting to bed.
Sometimes the gang can be a little too protective. It’s suffocating having to have someone with you everywhere you go and while they mean well you have had multiple arguments with them about how you can take care of yourself.
Dallas has definitely taught you how to fight, much to Darry’s dismay. You need to be able to hold your own and Dallas is going to teach you everything he’s learnt during his time on the streets.
Two-bit is the go to “baby-sitter”. He’s more than happy to go anywhere you want and he actually lets you have some form of freedom. Maybe that’s because he himself has the mentality of a small child but regardless, if Darry wants someone to look after you, make sure you request Two-bit.
Johnny loves spending time with you. You’re calm and someone he can talk to when he needs to. When he stays over some nights, you will sit up with him and Pony and talk until the sun comes up.
At first, Steve didn’t like you. He genuinely believed you were going to steal Sodapop away from him and hated when you came along to the DX. He doesn’t care if you’re a year younger than Pony, you’re still a kid in his eyes, and he’ll treat you as such. After a while though, he starts to warm up to you, you’re his best friend’s little sibling after all.
Needless to say, the whole gang loves you and would do anything for you <333

“Mmm,” Bucky moans from in between his now fiancé’s thighs.  Her eyes roam around the bedroom before looking over to his phone on the nightstand.  She is unable to fully enjoy Bucky feasting on her honey because she’s too in her head.
Bucky pops his head up, watching his sweet neurotic love of his life be anywhere, but present.  Playfully he rolls his eyes before crawling up her body, and leans down to pepper kisses on her mouth, “Shy, what’s the matter, darling?”
“I want to talk to Steve,” Bucky leans back, letting his eyes narrow while he tries to read her facial expressions.
“Why?” Finally her vision settles on his handsome face, but she shrugs.  “No.  Until you tell me why, I won’t be giving you his number.  Why do you want to speak to him?”
“I want him to let you come back home,” sighing, Bucky flips over on the bed, pulling her onto his chest.  His hands brush up and down her back while he presses his lips against her forehead.  “It’s not fair that you are going without sleep watching that girl.  Alpine misses you.”
“Alpine does, huh?  You’re bringing our daughter into this?” Bucky knows that when you blame Alpine for things like this, it’s also what you feel deep down as well.
“What happens if we have a human daughter?  You’re still going to blindly listen to what Steve says?” Bucky starts to speak, but she covers his mouth with her hand.  “I’m just saying the job you’re doing is what someone else should be doing.  You are the second in command and he’s got you doing stupid shit.”
“Okay,” he whispers, kissing over her face, “But you have to be prepared for Steve not to listen,” she gives him a pitiful little pout, and all he wants to do is bite her kiss swollen lips.  He had been starving for her, and didn’t stop kissing her, except when she was asleep.  Her lips are still bruised.  “Shy, the reason he wants me to watch her is because he trusts me.”
“And he knows you won’t fuck her,” Bucky rolls his eyes, and she gives him a playful smack on his chest.  “I’m serious.  I know you’ve seen him fucking.  It’s his weird kink.  He doesn’t want you to touch, but he gets off on the humiliation of showing them off in front of his men, mostly you.”
“I’ve seen fuck many times.  I’m immune to his fuckery.  Fine.  Call him.”
“You are changing the subject.  You’ve seen her pussy, haven’t you?” There is no point in arguing with her, so Bucky just nods his head.  “Whose is prettier?” She asks, smirking and reaching for his phone.  Sitting up, she straddles his body, giving a little grind on his stomach.  “Tell me.”
“The cunt that is slippery on my stomach is the prettiest puss I have ever seen.  No puss feels better than yours when you got me in that gorilla grip, and nothing is sweeter.  Shy, darling, you know that the only cunt for me is…stop that,” he slaps her ass when she starts rolling her hips on him.  “I was making my declaration of love to that pretty pussy, and you’re trying to get me hard.  Call Steve.  Tell him what you need.”
“Not while you’re here,” she giggles.  Bucky moves his arms quickly, and pinches both of her nipples at the same time, “Bubba…”
“I want you to call Steve right now.  Use your strong voice that you use with me sometimes,” she takes a deep breath, pulling herself out from a lustful state, and giggles.  Attempting to push Bucky’s hands off her.  “No, I want to play with these,” he coos, rolling his fingers.
“Then stop pinching.  It kinda hurts.”
“Then why are you getting wetter?  Did you forget, I feel you?” Her hands soothingly rub up and down Bucky’s arms, loving the feel of his flesh and metal.  His hands flatten out, and he cups each breast in his hand, “Better?”
“Give me your phone, Bubba,” Bucky cocks up an eyebrow, and she knows he’s not dropping his hands.  Instead she reaches over to grab his phone.  Unlocking immediately when her face comes into view to unlock the phone, she takes a deep breath.
“Shy, you’ve got this,” Shy had grown so much since the first time he met her.  She still kept to herself, and still didn’t like confrontation, but anything for Bucky.
“I know.  Be quiet, you.  I’m going to put this on speaker, so shush,” she waits patiently as the phone rings.  Using her free hand to cover Bucky’s eyes.  Lost in a sweet moment when she flinches.
“What do you want now?  I gave you your time off, enjoy your shy pussy,” his voice is so much harsher than Bucky.  Annoyed the moment he answers.
“Uhh…Steve?”
“Is this the illusive girlfriend?”
“Fiancé,” she informs him.  It did just happen, but she needs Steve to realize that Bucky was serious about their relationship.
“Fucking hell.  He finally fucking did it.  He told me he was going to put a rock on you.  So he’s good to come back, and take care of business?  You got your ring, and he’s got his pussy locked down,” Bucky’s hands tense on her chest, and she gulps, trying to figure out what to say.
“No…I — uhh…I don’t want Bucky to be gone for days at a time.  He should be allowed to come home every night, and…”
“Are you trying to tell me how to fucking command…”
“He’s not yours to command!” Her chest heaves as she blinks away her angry tears.  The hand covering Bucky’s eyes runs down his face to cup his cheek, and she uses her thumb to brush over his lips.
“Steve, you’re using his loyalty against him.  Bucky has a home, and…maybe he could watch her during the day, and — a-a-and then she goes home with you,” Steve’s end of the phone goes silent, and Shy bites at her lip.  Her thumb is still caressing Bucky’s mouth before she slowly slips it past his pout.  He gives the appendage a little nibble, smiling up at her.  Bucky is so proud at how she’s handling the situation, even though he wants to throw Steve across the room.
“That’s not a bad idea.  I will need her to be with me soon anyways.  I won’t be able to keep my hands off her once my cock has finally…”
“Steve, I don’t need to hear how you’re going to take your girlfriend’s virginity.  I just need my fiancé to come home every night.  It’s what I need more than anything.  You know I need him, and…and he needs me, too.  We’re kinda co-dependent.”
“Huh,” he sits silent.  Kicking his feet up on his desk, while his hands run through his beard.  “I just need my little bird to be dependent on me.”
“Oh…well okay.  I hope she is then.  Uh…bye?” She receives her answer with a prompt ending of the call, and she looks up at Bucky.  “You’re coming home tonight.”
“Yep, and since I’m coming home, I’ll only take a shower with you.  We don’t have time for sex.”
“There’s always time for sex, Bubba.”
“Nope.  But when I come home, my sweet little Shy Violet, I’m going to make sweet love with you, and I’m going to put a baby right here in this belly,” his finger pokes her belly, and he holds on tight to her.  Lifting both of them off the bed.  “For now, we shower.  Tonight, I stuff you full!”
Tumblr media
You walk down the steps of your school, pausing as everyone else pushes around you.  It was the weekend, and they were ready to get it started.  You stand there staring at Steve smirking from the backseat of the SUV.  His hand rubs up and down his thigh while he waits on you.
When you make no attempt to walk towards him, he lifts his hand, curling his finger to wiggle at you.  Somehow, like a good girl you respond.  Once you get close enough, he opens the door.  Instead of scooting over, he holds out a hand to you.  “Wouldn’t it be easier for me to walk around the car and get in my own seat?”
“No,” he smiles, still holding his hand out to you.  “You’ve got a new seat right here in my lap.  Let’s go.”
You take a moment to look around campus, making sure no one is watching you before you crawl in.  His hand immediately runs up your thigh, and pushes apart your legs.  Flattening his hand, he palms your covered core.  Biting on your lip, you refuse to let out any sounds.
“Those sounds belong to me, too,” you shake your head no.  Still in this weird tug-o-war game with him.  He enjoyed your spitfire ways, even if they annoyed him.  “Yeah, they do, little bird.  This slick that you have gathering in this cunt belongs to me just as much as those whimpers.”
“What — what are we doing?  Going?”
“I’m glad you asked,” he smiles, pushing aside your panties.  He stuffs three fingers into you, and you try to raise off his lap, but he pushes you back down.  Squirming around, you try to take a deep breath, attempting to adjust to his fingers, “Stop that.  I’m not going to finger you.  I just want to feel your walls flutter around me, while you keep them warm.  They’re cold,” he would be the one to find an excuse to have himself inside of you.
“Where are we going,” you whisper, still refusing to give him any form of enjoyment.
“Bucky doesn’t want to watch you sleep anymore, so you’re going to my place.”
“The cabin?” His fingers curl into you, and he holds them right over your g spot, and you become annoyed with the lack of friction.
“No.  My place.  Some nights I sleep upstairs in the club, but I don’t want them to hear you,” you gulp while you look at him.  Lip starting to tremble.  He had plans to make sounds scream out of you, “Are you ready to beg?”
“No,” you answer with as much sincerity as you possibly can.  Gritting his teeth, his fingers start fucking into you.  Still curled, and still pounding over a spot that has stars that light up your vision.  “Steve, I said no!  Oh god!”
It isn’t only squelching sounds, it is a waterfall as your cunt gushes out onto his lap.  Legs starting to tremble with your release.  You aren’t sure how he can make things happen so fast, but he always finds a way.
“Steve!  Ahh,” both hands grab onto his arm, attempting to shove him out of you but he just goes harder.  Laughing when your pussy releases more arousal.  “Steve!  Steve!  Fuck!  Fuckfuckfuckfuck!”
A gagging noise releases from your throat when his drenched hand circles around your throat.  “Steve, please…please, I didn’t mean to.  You were in me!”
“You know very well what I fucking meant when I said I needed to be inside of you when you want to open that filthy fucking month.  Get on the goddamn floor,” your eyes look up to the front, and Sam rolls his eyes.  “Don’t look at him.  Get in the fucking floor, Dovey!”
You scramble into the floor, and he rips open your shirt, pulling each tit above your bra.  Pinching on both nipples, he pulls you towards him.  “Take out my cock, and just hold it in your mouth.”
“What?” If you weren’t wet before, you are sopping wet now.  Could feel your slick sticking to your thighs as you twitch around.  His grip on your nipples is rough, and you want to yelp, but it would only make things worse.
“Did I stutter?  Take out my fat cock, and just hold it in your mouth.  If you suck on it, I will conduct a meeting with your legs spread wide, and my dick resting in your ass.  That way everyone gets to see your virgin cunt clench around nothing at all.  Do you understand?” It takes you too long to respond to him.
His fingers grip your sensitive buds harder, pulling your face right over the hardening bulge in his pants, “Do you fucking understand, Dove?”
“Yes, sir.  Yes, I understand,” tears cloud your vision as you unzip his pants.  Whimpering when your fingers come into contact with his heated and heavy cock.
“Do not suck, Dovey,” he gives your nose a tap with his finger, letting you open your mouth wide, and you take as much of him as you can.  Kneeling on the floor, and waiting to get to your destination.
“Steve, you don’t think you’re being too mean to her?” Sam looks in the mirror with concern.  Everyone worried about your wellbeing more than Steve.
“No,” he chuckles.  Adjusting his position, and pushing himself deeper into your.  “Make sure you breathe through your nose, little bird.  Sam, you know as well as I do I could be a hell of a lot meaner.  How do you like keeping my cock warm, Dovey?” You glare up at him, and he gives a quick swat to your cheek.
You didn’t mind giving him head but this just sitting here with his throbbing cock in your mouth is torture.  “If you’re gonna look up at him with your mouth so pretty and stuffed so full your cheeks hurt, at least look like you’re enjoying it.”
“You’ve got her stuffed in the floor of the car, and drooling in your lap, not to mention, you made sure her cunt made a fucking mess in my car — again.”
“That is my cunt, and it was beautiful.  I love that she’s extra sloppy.  Could you imagine pumping up that pussy until it’s good and swollen, and then pounding the shit out of her?  My god, she would just be a soaking fucking mess.  We’ll try that one day, Dovey.”
Humiliating.  And still your leak arousal.  This shouldn’t turn you on being treated like an object for his pleasure, but it did.  “Maybe you should take her out on a date,” Sam’s deep brown eyes look into the back, and Steve is actually smiling down at you.  “She might beg.”
The moan you release has Steve’s head tilting back.  He tries not to fully let go, but that felt fantastic.  “Is that what you want, little bird?  You want a date?  Moan twice for yes,” such an asshole.  He could have said once, but no.  He wants to make sure he gets as much pleasure from this as possible.
Still glaring up at him, you moan.  Wiggling a bit, trying to make yourself comfortable before moaning again.  “Well, we’re laying low right now,” your moan is more of a growl.  Dribble drifts down onto his lap, and you give him a little pout.  Both arms wrap around his leg, and you cling to him.  He seems to like you needy.  And what you need is relief, or for him to taste you.
“We’re not fucking going out, and that’s final.  Sam, make sure that Loki is at the house before you leave,” who the fuck was that?  Loki?  And why is Steve asking if you want a date, and then refusing?  Prick.
“Suck!” His hands plant themselves on the back of your head, and he forces you to take every bit of him.  Crying from lack of oxygen, and gagging with his cock shoved down your throat.  You couldn’t suck if you wanted to.  Steve just wants to push your limits.
Your nose presses up against his skin, and the feeling of your drool and tears just makes him hold you more.  “Yeah, Dovey, that’s a good fucking girl.  Can take every bit of my cook.”
“Steve.”
“Mmm, my god, that cunt is going to feel amazing,” your vision starts to blur, and you try to push yourself off him, but he clings tighter.
“Steve.”
“You can take every bit of me, sweet little bird.  I’ll reward you later,” terrified, you smack at the seats.  If screaming was an option, you’d be doing that.  Clawing at his legs, slapping him, just anything to get his attention.
“Steve!” Sam slams on the breaks, and turns around to glare at him.  “She can’t fucking breathe!”
His heavy load spurts down your throat, before he lets you go, and you gasp for air through his sticky cream.  Your lungs burn almost as much as your throat, and you look up at him terrified.  “I wasn’t gonna kill you, sweet Dove.  You won’t die a virgin.  I want you on your knees, so I can stare at your cunt.”
“Why?” You tremble, wiping off the mess on your face.  Smeared saliva and cum spreads around your soft skin, and Steve wants nothing more than to paint your entire face with his seed.
“Because, I need to see how wet you are,” your head only shakes back and forth once, but it’s enough to annoy him.  “Get on your damn knees before I shove my fist in your cunt.”
Without readjusting your clothes, you get onto the seat on all fours.  Laying your head down as Steve lifts up your skirt.  “You're such a slut for me, Dovey.  Your legs are just as soaked as your pussy.  What is it that you want?”
“I want you,” you whisper.  Biting on your thumb nail when you look at him.
“Why?  I am your worst nightmare, am I not?”
“Uh huh.  But…” your look towards Sam; he has his eyes back on the road.  Ignoring everything that is going on just inches behind him.  “I like being scared.”
“And that’s why you piss me off?” He spreads slick to your puckered hole before spitting down to your hole that has never seen any action.  “You piss me off because you enjoy being scared?”
“What are you doing?” He is just staring at your muscled hole.  He is ready to devour you.  Sink into your truly virginal hole, and feel you clench around him in a different way.
“Making sure you’re scared.  Answer my question,” his thumb slips into your soaked channel before his finger teases around your asshole.  “Am I scaring you, Dovey?”
“Yes, sir.”
“You know I will own all your holes right?” You squeak when his finger breaks the barrier of your tight channel.  Pushing yourself even more into him as his thumb and finger fuck into two holes.  “I will own you.  I will destroy you, and I’m getting fucking tired of your games.  Do you piss me off because you get off on the fear of what I’m going to do to you?”
“Yes.  Yes, sir,” you sob.  Your body starts to rock into him while he just sits there.  Smirking at how much you are enjoying both holes being played with.  Taking his entire fingers and desiring more.
“You like this?  You want a second finger in your ass?”
“Uhh,” you hesitate, but Steve didn’t care.  A second finger breaches your walls, and you scream out his name.  There is a feeling of fullness that makes you want more.  You have no doubt that Steve is going to push you to your limits, but you wanted him to.  Wanted someone to make the decisions for you for a change.
“You close, baby.  You right there?  I feel your pussy fluttering around me.”
“Yes!  Yes!”  It feels so good that it is blinding.  Euphoria starts to quickly drift through your body, and you know that your peak is just on the precipice.  Breathing unsteady, and desperate for more of Steve.
“Good,” he growls, removing his fingers, denying you that sweet release.  “We’re here.”
“Uhh!” You slap on the seat of the car, and Steve smacks your ass.  “I didn’t get to come.”
“Oh, I know.  Go ahead, and run inside.  Wash your face off.  Get in the shower.  I’ve got a pretty little present for you to slip on.  Quit your fucking pouting.  You already came once.  You don’t need another.”
“Yes, I do!” Another swat to your ass, and you sit up, glaring at him.  Steve could be unusually cruel at times.  But refusing you to come is the worst.
“Once was plenty.  You need to learn to not be so fucking greedy.  Now, go wash up.  Your face is a fucking wreck.  And when you look in the mirror, you just remember that I was the one that made you that way.  Get out of the fucking car.  I’ll see you inside in a minute,” you puff out irritated, and crawl out of the car.  Like the cabin, it didn’t have neighbors.  But this time you aren’t scared.  You’re pissed.
If Steve wanted you to beg, you wouldn’t.  Not now.  Now you want him to suffer.  You want him to want you just as much as you wanted him.  It was beyond desperation.  It is an obsession of needing him inside of you.
“Steve, this is a bad idea,” Sam warns his friend as Steve starts to get out.  Sam knew how Steve was.  But this is very different.  He was even scaring him, and Sam isn’t sure what Steve’s endgame is.  Was this his way of showing any true feelings?
“It’s perfect.  If she wants to belong to me, it’s time for her to prove it,” there was no changing of Steve’s mind.  Tonight would be the night, and he’ll deal with the consequences of his actions later.
“And this could be something that makes her retreat into herself.  You’re doing too much.”
“Go home to your wife and kids, Sam.  Dove will be fine.  She’ll love it.  And everyone will know exactly who she belongs to.  They will know whose cock stretches her open every fucking day.  It will happen.  And no one can stop it.”
Sam looks at Steve through the rear view mirror.  Nothing could change his mind when he was like this.  He just hoped that Steve wouldn’t later regret it.  “Does Bucky know?”
“Bucky wants to go home to his fiancé every night.  What I do isn’t Bucky’s business unless he’s here.  He’s not here to stop me.  Dove is mine.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a girl to ruin,” you are his, and no one could stop him.  It was what had to be done.  And it will be done.
Tumblr media
You look at yourself in the mirror, trying to cover yourself up.  He had to be joking.  Steve is a menace, and he proved it daily, and this isn’t any difference.  You can hear the tv on, and even smell food being cooked, but you didn’t want to walk out of this bedroom.  Steve did remove your reason to think.  He did decide everything for you.  Down to this ridiculous outfit.  But sometimes you did want to, and this is one of those times.  Especially since you knew he was going to be fully covered.
“Dovey!” He shouts from another part of the house, and you open the bedroom door, wrapping your arms around your chest.  “Dinner is ready, come on.”
“What is this?” Walking out into the house, you realize that you are alone with Steve.  No guards.  Just you and him.  “What do you have me wearing?” He turns to look at you.  His hungry eyes looking you up and down as he walks closer.  Spreading your arms out wide, he spins you around.  “Steve.”
“Oh, stop whining.  You think I haven’t seen your tits before,” just to drive home his point his hand smooths over the sheer lace that makes up your top.  Making your nipples pebble up with stimulation.  You are ‘covered’ but only in material.  The lace reveals every bit of your top.  The shorts at least are solid around your core.
“You look beautiful,” he whispers behind your ear, and your arms relax, leaning more into him, his musky scent wafts up to your nose, and your body sets on fire.  Becoming more comfortable with his tiny little praise.  “And I like looking at what is mine,” ruined.  “Don’t cover yourself up.  Let’s eat.”
“Did you cook?” It seems like a silly question when you realize that there is no one else here.  It’s obvious that he cooked.  And even cleaned the kitchen up along the way.  The table is even set, but it’s for one.  His house is impeccably clean, and it’s something you should have expected with how particular he is.
“Yeah, surprise, I don’t just sell drugs.  My tongue also can do more than lick your cunt,” giving you a wink, he grabs your hand, pulling you towards the table.
“Where are you sitting?”
“At the table, in a chair,” he looks at you with confusion painting his eyes.
“What about me?”
A devilish smirk spreads across his face as he leads you into the dining area.  Sitting in his chair before rubbing his hand on his thigh.  “I’m a seat now, Dovey.  Come on, darling, let's get you fed, and we’ll watch a movie before bed.”
“We’re just…just going to sleep?  And I’m wearing this?” Why would he have you on display like this just to eat and get in the bed?  He wanted to make sure you gave him very little to his imagination.  He could see everything.  Keeping it cold in here, so your nipples are hard and poking through your top.
“Well, what did you have in mind?” Steve guides you to sit in his lap, and he picks up a forkful of food, holding it up for you to take a bite.  “If you want something, little bird, you have to ask.”
“I thought — why am I wearing this?”
“I like the view,” he’s being a bit too coy, and definitely too innocent at this moment.  There is more to his game, and you couldn’t figure it out.  Except for that question, are you ready to beg.
“What if I want,” biting at your lip, you turn to look at him.  Running your hand up his chest before giving him a sweet peck on his lips.  “What if I want you?”
“You have me.  Here I am,” he’s annoying, and knows exactly what you mean, but still he teases.  “And you need to eat, and drink plenty of water.”
“I’m ready to beg.”
“And yet, still you’re not.  Eat, Dovey.  This isn’t a discussion.  It’s what you will do, and then you’re going to let your stomach settle, while you continue to hydrate, and then maybe I’ll see if you’ll actually beg.  And you don’t have to say you’re ready to beg.  There’s other ways to ask that you want my fat cock in your sweet little pussy,” he takes a bite of food himself, grinning as he watches you try and figure out what to say.
“But you won’t let me say the F word.”
“Mmm, making love?  Having sex?  Taking your virginity?  Not everything has to be filthy fucking.  One day you’ll understand,” like Steve would ever do anything but fuck you like a filthy whore.  “Eat,” he gives you a smile, and his hand that’s behind you, slowly caresses your back.
You shudder at how soft and tender it is.  Gulping as you take another bite from his fork.  He could be tender.  Loving almost.  Slick floods to your core with every soft touch that Steve gives you.  Tonight would be the night that you beg and give yourself completely to Steve Rogers.
If this man can show this amount of softness, while still telling you what to do, he could have you.  Every part of you.  You would let him destroy and own you.
Tumblr media
Steve looks down at you, snuggling up to his chest, and your hand rubs along the lowest part of his stomach.  It feels somewhat normal, although foreign.  As much as he tried to break you, there is still this soft innocence to you.  You reveled in his debauchery, and still craved this sickeningly sweet moment of watching a movie, and touching him.  Cuddling up against him.
You are so relaxed, a leg was thrown over his lap.  You laugh at the appropriate times.  And fuck, when you look up at him seeing if he was paying attention, it drove him mad.  It isn’t sexual, but it’s intimate.  It’s something Steve has never felt.  Never had in possession, and you are giving it to him freely.
Sure, he’s fucked more women than he can count, but they were all disposable.  They never got past the sex before he was shoving them out of his bed.  You were showing him who he was before, and what he craved the most.  Refusing for far too long to try and get it because it made him soft.
He stiffens underneath you, realizing that you were making him soft.  He didn’t mind keeping you with him, but this wasn’t sexual.  This seems normal.  Healthy.  And since when was Steve healthy or normal?  When did he allow himself to have this?  It was when he realized he didn’t want you hurt.
Working for your innocence made him want you that much more.  You wanted it, and feared it.  You need him and hate him.  You want to learn more, but not too fast.  You trusted him, and still had that tiny sliver of hesitance.
You wiggle in closer to him, and he glances down, to see he’s petting you.  His hand literally moves up and down your back in comfort.  Keeping you warm, and you are wanting more.  This isn’t who he is.  He isn’t the boyfriend.  He’s the owner.  And yet you are controlling him just by being you.  He didn’t hate it.  But he fears it.  Fears your power over him.
“Dovey?”
“Mmm?” You sit up excitedly.  Your eyes are half lidded, and he can see the desire and lust in the deep pools of your pupils.  No wonder your hand slipped under his pants earlier.  You have the sweetest way of initiating sex.
“What is it Steve?” Curiosity and nervousness laces your voice.  “Steve?  Sir?” Little minx, trying to entice him even more with that pet name.  Trying to switch into subspace.  If you wanted him, you had to prove it.  He cracks his neck, ready to get the long night started.
“I want to try something with you, okay?”
“Okay,” he pulls you onto his lap fully.  Your legs straddle him, and he forces you to grind on him.  Backwards and forwards, moaning with the feel of his throbbing bulge under you.  “Stevie?” He growls, gripping tighter to your ass.  Giving your jaw a little nip.  “I don’t like calling you sir.”
“Stevie is not very threatening.”
“So it’s just for me to fear you?”
“Do you not?” He tilts his head to the side, searching your eyes.  His grip loosening, and your body is fully grinding on top of him.  You have settled your core closer to him, and he feels every bit of your warmth.  Cursing himself for not just making you walk around naked.  “Dovey, do I scare you?”
“Sometimes,” you answer in earnest.  “I don’t know what parts of you scare me anymore.”
“Explain, and don’t stop doing what you’re doing,” there is something different about Steve right now.  You aren’t sure if he’s playing a game, or if he’s being sincere.  Maybe while his cock is being stimulated, you get to see the real him.
“I’m scared of you hurting me.”
“Physically or…?”
“Physically, I enjoy it,” you shouldn’t.  It’s wrong, but you can’t help how the terror he gives you turns you on.  Makes you crave him more.  “You’re gonna leave me once I give you that part of me.”
“No.  I told you, Dovey, I want to own you.  Knowing that I am the only man that has ever corrupted you.”
“But that’s just my pussy.  What about my heart?”
This is not where he wanted this conversation to go.  He didn’t want to think about your emotions right now.  He couldn’t.  Not yet.  Maybe not ever.  “You’re…what we have isn’t love, little bird.”
“But…it could be?” Steve responds with a shrug.  Things are getting too deep.  It was nearly time, and he couldn’t have things go in this order.  “I guess that’s good enough.”
“I promise no harm will come to you.  And I can promise that I will satisfy you in ways you’ve only ever dreamed of, but if you need me to be your Prince Charming, I’m sorry to disappoint you.  I’m no knight in shining armor.  I’m a drug lord with a short temper.”
“But you want me?”
“No, darling,” he settles back into the couch, his hands go up your shirt, and he fondles your breasts.  Deep laboring breaths while he stares up at you, “I need you.  Not having you isn’t an option.  Call me, Captain.”
“Captain,” you whimper, circling your hips so hard over him.  He moans.  Squeaking out your name, and heat bursts onto your core.  “Steve?”
“Don’t stop calling me Captain, until I’m finished with you.  Yes, your filthy little show made me come in my pants.  I won’t be fucking you right now,” your lip trembles as he stands up.  Holding onto you when he walks you into an almost empty room.  A massage table set up with some form of contraption you didn’t recognize, and in the middle of the floor lays a long mirror.
He stands you up on the floor, and tugs at your shorts.  Holding your hand for you to step out of them before removing your shirt.  “Down on your knees, and straddle the mirror,” you stare at him for a moment, but when he snaps his fingers you do as he says.
“I need you to understand your body, Dovey.  I’m going to have some fun with your cunt, and you’re going to watch it.  Stop whining.  You see that tight little hole in between your legs has got me in a chokehold.  I can’t think properly when I’m around you, and you’re not begging,” he gets down to his knees, and his hand goes in between your legs.  Spreading out your lips so you can see the innocence that he wants to own.
“Don’t take your eyes off your cunt, okay?”
“It’s yours, Captain,” Steve moans as his hand flows down to your entrance, smiling at your reflection before he pushes in three fingers.  You may sniffle, but you keep looking.  Watching the way he stretches you out.  How simple motions make your arousal drip down onto your reflection.
“You were made for me, Dovey,” he moans, his motions going faster.  “You’re so reactive for me.  You want me?”
“I need you,” you mewl, and he drives in harder.  Deeper.  Curling his fingers to hit that magical spot.  Pressure tightens up in your core, and you can’t hold on any longer.  Your pussy gushes out below you.  “I need you, Captain!  Captain!” No amount of screaming was making him fuck you.  Only his hand.  Forever his hand.
“I need more!” Steve pounds harder, and your body heats up.  Sweat beads around your face, and you start dipping lower.  Legs going weak.  “I need more, Captain!”
Reaching into his pocket, you start crawling away.  “No!  Steve, don’t!”
“Shh, Dovey, you wanted more,” Steve hums, holding tight to your leg.  Pulling out his gun, he runs the cold metal around your backside.  “Stay very still.”
“Is it loaded?”
“Do you think I’d have an unloaded gun in my pocket?” You hold yourself still as he drags the piece through your folds.  “Tonight, you’re going to prove just how fucking loyal you are to me,” you would prove it.  You would make him proud.  “And if you didn’t like it why are you so wet?” He grunts, the tip rubbing your clit.  He pulls the pistol away from you, and your sticky honey creates strings of slick to the tool.
Slowly he eases the gun back to your center, pulling it back to your entrance.  “Count to three.”
“One,” Steve bites his lip, watching your reflection.  You are terrified, and still submitting to his sick fantasy.  Willing to do whatever he wanted to prove you are worthy to be his girl.
“Two,” without warning he pushes the gun inside you, and you let out the most surreal moan.  Your velvety walls stretch around the piece, and you cry out at the intrusion. “Aww, look at you.  You can see where it is inside of you.  You see it?”
You couldn’t miss the bulging line up your belly.  Why did this feel good?  Why did you want him to go harder?  “I’m gonna be deeper,” his hand traces the bulge, going up further before pressing up against your belly, “I’m gonna be right here.  Rearranging your fucking insides.”
“Captain!  I need you!  I’m begging!  Please, please!  I wanna feel you!” Steve fully settles himself behind you.  Keeping a hand on his gun, but positions his crotch right at the handle.  “Captain!”
“Fuck yourself.  Pretend it’s me.  How are you going to handle me, Dovey?” You start rocking yourself back onto him.  Taking the gun even deeper, “Keep watching.  Don’t stop.”
Pushing yourself back into him, you can almost envision that you are taking him.  Having him.  All of him.  But he’s going to be deeper.  Settled so deep into you that you feel pressure in your belly.  “Good fucking girl.  There ya go.  You like that?  You like fucking my gun?”
“Yeah.  Yes,” you start panting out.  “I need you.”
“You have me.”
“All of you.  All!” You push back harder, smiling when you spill even more onto the mirror.  Each movement makes Steve more feral and needy for you.  “All of!” It shouldn’t feel this good.  You had taken all of his gun, but it still wasn’t deep enough.  Even though your toes are curling, and you feel the ultimate high of release, you wanted him.
“All of you!  Captain!  Captain!”
“Fuck yeah,” he moans, watching your cream coat his gun.  “Tell me, you’ll do anything for me.”
“Anything, I just want you!” Dropping his gun on the mirror, he stands up.  Picking you up off the floor, he walks over to the bed.  You had hoped you’d be in Steve’s giant bed for the first time, but maybe he didn’t want the mess.
Laying you down, he crawls over your body.  Locking your arms down by your side with his thighs.  Straddling you in a way to trap you.  “Dovey, this is going to hurt.”
“What are you doing?” His hand turns your head to the side, and he kisses a spot between your neck and collarbone.  His tongue paints circles over the sensitive area, and you allow him to hold you even tighter.
“If you hold still, it’ll go faster.  Loki!  She’s ready.”
“Steve?” A tall man walks into the room, and flips on the machine.  Sitting on a stool, he scoots closer.  “Steve!”
“You got her?  The tattoo will be raised if I go too deep,” what?  Tattoo?  Steve holds tighter to your head, cooing down at you.  “Well, ain’t that sweet?  Buttering her up before you make her wear your mark permanently.”
“Don’t!  Please, Steve, don’t!” Even though you kick your legs, your upper body doesn’t move.  Not with Steve’s weight keeping you in place.  Tiring yourself out, but you didn’t know what else to do, but to fight.  “Please!”
“You said anything, Dovey.  Go on.  I’ve got her.  It’s happening whether you like it or not.  Hold fucking still, Dovey.  Prove you’re mine, and I will give you the fucking world.  Loki!” The hum of the tattoo gun starts, and you scream out when the needle pierces your skin.  Marking you up for all to see.  Claiming you as Steve’s once and for all.  You didn’t mean this.  He was going to get to walk away, but you were forever going to be seen as his property.
Screaming, crying, grunting.  Nothing could have ever prepared you for this pain, and the physical pain didn’t feel as bad as the deep betrayal you feel.  The fear is no longer sexy like before.  It is you completely giving yourself up to him.  Like you were never going to see another light of day without his permission.
Your screams turn into sobs of agony as Loki shades in your tattoo.  You didn’t ask for this.  Didn’t ask for him.  He forced his way into your life, and all you wanted was to stay awake to study.  “You’re almost finished, darling.”
You didn’t care.  No soothing words could ever make up for this.  “There, there,” he sighs, watching Loki clean you up, and cover the tattoo.  He leans down to kiss up your tear stained cheeks.
“Let me go,” you say calmly.  “I don’t want to look at you.”
“Dovey, this is what you agreed to.”
“You didn’t give me a choice!  Ever.  I can’t look at you, Steve.  Let me go.  Let.  Me.  Go.  Let me go!  Let me go!”
“You’re not going anywhere,” he growls, but you start flailing around.  “You belong to me.  Go in the bedroom, and pitch your fit.  You’ll understand once the adrenaline has worn off.”
“I am naked, and tired, and I’m in pain!  And you think I’m pitching a fit?  Let me go, please!” All it takes is that word, and Steve crawls off you.  Standing in front of Loki while you dash to the bedroom.  Slamming the door shut, and locking it.  You spot his phone, and run to it.  He would have his number.  And he would pay.
Tumblr media
Bucky bursts through the door of Steve’s house, and marches right to Steve who is sitting in a sofa chair, watching your door.  Lifting him up by the collar, he throws him up against a wall, and Steve chuckles.  “You fucking marked her?”
“She’s mine.  Now everyone knows.”
“You put a permanent mark on her skin, and you fucked her with a gun?  What the hell is wrong with you Steve?  That girl is willing to give everything to you, no questions asked, and…”
“She did!  She told me anything, so it was my right to show her and everyone else who she fucking belongs to.  She is mine, and I can do whatever the hell I please with her.  Look at it,” he flicks his head towards a table, but Bucky doesn’t take his eyes off him.
“Her cum is dried on my gun.  She came on my gun.  She loved it, and watched every disgusting second of it.”
“You used her in a vulnerable state!  You…”
“Don’t tell me what I can and can’t do with her.  She is mine!” Steve doesn’t have to try and fight back.  He lets Bucky think he has this moment.  For now.
“Yeah?  And where is she, Steven?” Bucky flattens his forewarn against Steve’s neck, laughing.  “You have her, and she’s so terrified of you that she locked you out.  Used your phone to call me.  You sick fucking bastard!  She was right there, willing to give you everything.  She lets you use her and lets others watch you do it.  But this is too fucking far.  I can’t…”
“Then quit,” Bucky’s weight shifts slightly, and Steve pushes him off.  “No one wants you here.  All you care about is your basket case,” Steve’s head slings to the side, and he rubs his cheek where Bucky backhanded him.  The metallic taste of his blood fills his mouth, and he grits his teeth as he turns back to look at Bucky.
“Don’t talk about my fiancé like that!”
“I no longer want you watching Dove.  I’ll have Loki assigned to her, or she’ll be with me.  Your services are no longer needed.  Whatever is left at the club belongs to me.  You wanted your life with your neurotic freak show, have at it.  Don’t come near me or mine ever again.”
“You’re gonna regret this, Steve.  You just remember who was loyal to you.  And you know what?  Fuck you,” spinning on his heels, Bucky stomps back outside, flipping Steve’s house off for good measure before he goes home.  Where he belongs.
Steve wipes at his mouth before turning towards the door, giving your current room a knock, “Dovey?”
“Go away, Steve.”
“You can’t stay mad at me forever.  You eventually have to eat.”
“I’d rather starve than to see you again,” you hug your legs up against your chest, letting your tears paint the pillows with smeared mascara.  It was the first time Steve would ever put this amount of fear on you.  He would never get the chance ever again.
“Fine.  Die a fucking virgin.  You’ll come out though.  And I’ll be waiting.”
You didn’t care.  He could wait forever.  Let his empire crumble.  You would never look at Steve Rogers ever again.  You’d never forgive him.  Never ever.

If I were to do a A/B/O story with Steddie this is how I would do it (I've never done omega-verse for any of my fandoms, but damn there is something about Steddie that just screams it, you know?)
Steve was sold to a place that uses infertile omegas as sex toys. Rut servicing, gang bangs, orgies, or even just pretty arm candy for special events. The point is that the Harringtons sold him when they found out he couldn't be sold to the wealthiest, most influential alphas as a broodmare.
They are pretty much indentured and have to pay off the debt of how much the company paid for them. Steve pays off his debt and stays. Most omegas leave, but he loves what he does. He really loves rut servicing. It's his favorite because he has all the control during the three to four days the alpha is sex crazed. He also loves that he can take care of them without them thinking he's in for the bond bite.
Steve's at some gala or event or whatever on the arm of an older alpha, probably a senator or someone important like that when he meets Eddie Munson, frontman for Corroded Coffin.
They're introduced and they hit off, until Steve mentions offhand that he's infertile. Because that angers Eddie for some reason.
Eddie sets up Steve to be his rut servicer and demands that Steve be placed on some kind of birth control. It's a strange request, but it's granted.
When Steve arrives, Eddie tells him under no uncertain terms that either of them are going to be barebacking. Condoms are required.
This pisses Steve off. He's infertile and these demands are just ridiculous. He can't get pregnant.
Eddie scoffs. If he was infertile it would reflect in his scent. It would be sickly sweet, like overripe fruit. Cloying almost. But Steve doesn't smell like that. He smells darker, woodier, more like spices then fruity.
Steve frowns, he hadn't heard that about omegas, but it made sense, his other co-workers did have that sweet smell, but never really thought about it being different than his own.
But before they could talk it out, Eddie goes into his rut hard. Harder then it's ever been and Steve is pretty much scrambling to keep up with the sex.
At the end of the five days, Steve is worn out and ready to pass out for the next week, but he needs to know what Eddie was talking about.
Eddie tells him that he's not infertile, he's an ultra-fertile omega. So rare that they present in only 1% of the human population as a whole. Red-heads are more common they are.
Basically they are only fertile during their heats, but instead of having only a 1 in 5 chance of getting pregnant like omegas do in heat (1 in 8 out of heat), they can get pregnant 4 in 5 chance of getting pregnant. In fact, they are so revered that they can have their pick of the best alphas in their country. Some of them even go so far as casting their net over the whole fucking world.
Steve isn't sure he believes him, but his parents never tested for it because it was too rare. So it's possible that he could be, it's not like he can test it now. The test needs to be done at the time he presented. The only way to know for sure is if he shared a heat with an alpha (he's not allowed to as service omega to spend it with anything but toys) and he doesn't know of any alpha willing to take the chance that he might be some golden omega.
Only Eddie is totally willing. Willing to even bond Steve, with or without the ultra-fertility.
Steve is shocked. He's even more shocked when he goes into heat just from being so close to Eddie. Because he's on blockers, that's not supposed to happen.
While Steve is still cognizant he consents to Eddie helping him through the heat, suddenly grateful for the condom and birth control stipulation is suddenly very welcome.
It's only a light one that lasts a couple of days, but it's the best he's ever had. The first he's ever shared with an alpha. And he loved it.
He found out that in order to share Steve's heat, Eddie had to pay a lot of money for the privilege so he just bought Steve's contract as a whole. The one he made because he brought in so much money to the company.
They talk about bonding and sharing Steve real heat. The reason Eddie was so insistent on the contraception measures is that his scent had been known to break blockers in the past.
Which makes sense, some alphas just have that strong a scent. It's not a thing like an ultra-omega, but just something that could happen. The company tended to screen those types of alphas and made sure that the omega would be safely whisked away. It just never happened to Steve before.
Eddie courts Steve properly and they bond. And sure enough Eddie was right Steve gets pregnant, and suddenly Steve's parents are banging on the door demanding they be compensated for the fact that he's an ultra-omega and could have been sold for lots, lots more money then the company gave them.
But Steve tells them to fuck off and slams the door in their faces. And Steve and Eddie live happily ever after with their growing family.
First chapter of the full story here.

Thinking of a modern AU when the kids get to be kids after it's all over and they go to the movies, they play games, hang out, all that. And of course, Steve drives them everywhere. He vouches for them in front of their parents, watches them like a hawk, tries to tell them about the adult stuff he's learned so far and chases Robin and Nancy to give them info on uni application and the things he feels he's too dumb for. Still, when Robin and Nancy are away and one of his kids needs something, he'll grab that legal document and either stare at it long enough to get a migraine or begins hounding the smart people who stayed in Hawkins (Mr. Clarke is Steve's go-to person and Mr. Clarke won't say it, but he's so proud of Harrington's progress).
So, Steve's life is basically nonstop work and babysitting (with lots of complaints and grumbling from the teens), they ask him to drive them somewhere and he'll bitch about it, sure, but he will get up after 4 hours of sleep and do it anyways. Dustin often reprimands Steve for not taking care of his health, but he doesn't see why.
When Encanto comes out, El really, really wants to see it, and how can Steve say no to her? He drives the whole gang to the movie theatre (some of them stacked on top of each other, some in the trunk on a pile of blankets) and decides to join them. He doesn't really like animated stuff, but Robin loves these movies and he wants yet another reason to call her and talk through the night.
He didn't expect to enjoy the movie so much, but it's colorful and catchy. The songs are nice and the characters are relatable. He makes a lot of mental notes to discuss with Robin. He thinks she will love Mirabel.
And then "Surface Pressure" starts playing and Steve wonders why he suddenly feels like crying. "I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service" hits especially hard. He's just sitting there and feeling incredibly stupid for tearing up at flying glitter-covered donkeys.
When they leave the movie theater, everyone is pretty excited and discussing which characters and songs they liked the most (even if some feel like rolling their eyes at a kids' movie, El's excitement stops them from doing that). They all start discussing to who they relate the most, El feels with Mirabel for being left out and different, even if she actually is the only one who has a gift, Will dares to utter that he really sympathizes with Dolores, Dustin loves Bruno for trying to fix the cracks in Casita.
And then they turn to Steve and someone makes a jab at him, saying he resembles Mariano the most. Steve is ready to shrug it off, there's some truth in that with what happened to his relationship with Nancy, but El just shakes her head and says: "No. Steve is our Luisa."
Everyone goes silent. There's a lot of hmmming and "well, he did get up to drive us when he had a night shift..." and "we could have just biked...". Steve tries to make them feel better about it, joking that he really has nothing better to do, but the drive home is full of whispering, and the party actually diligently thank him when they leave his car.
The next day is Sunday and Steve is ready for his usual routine, making himself busy until someone needs something. But there's a knock on the door to his small apartment and when he opens it, he sees his group of kids, proudly presenting a tray of muffins and two cartons of orange juice.
Out of all of them, it's Mike who speaks up. "Nancy said you often forget to eat breakfast," he states in his usual annoyed tone. "She also said that you like chocolate muffins, so we are here to ensure you don't die from hunger. Now move, I'll get the glasses and plates."
Steve just watches in awe as they swarm his flat, Will smiling at him and producing a DVD of the latest Spider-man movie. "This one was a tip from Robin, she says you haven't seen it yet."
Max is standing in the kitchenette with her cane, watching the pile of meds Steve has to take after his injuries with disdain. "This has to take forever for you to find what you need. Don't argue, I remember how shitty it was for me. Let me help you build a chart and thank me later."
El and Lucas are rearranging Steve's couch and placing pillows in front of the TV so everyone can sit comfortably. El also ensures the blinds are closed so Steve's eyes don't have to fight against the light.
And if that all wasn't more care than Steve has known in years, Dustin grabs his elbow and sits him down, threatening him with violence if he even thinks about working on Sunday.
As the opening titles start, Steve is surrounded by six teenagers in his tiny and cheap flat, chewing on a subpar muffin with an orange juice that probably never saw the actual fruit, and he thinks that there's no greater happiness than this.

Tattooed Steve, pt. 2
Part 1 here
Soooo I ended up writing more tattooed Steve. I couldn’t resist. I also realized that Eddie would be the first person to find out but like…other than Robin. But I didn’t count her because Steve and Robin are the same person honestly at this point. Anyway I hope you like it! Pt. 1 is linked above.
—-
It’s two weeks after Vecna when he gets his first one. It’s unexpected, impulsive even, but Steve needs to feel something. He has just spent the past week and half waiting for Eddie to wake up, staring at his pale form, wishing away the anxiety with every beep, beep, beep that comes from the heart monitor. Begging for this stupid, stupid man to wake up.
He isn’t really sure why he wanted Eddie to wake up. Sure the ruggrats love him, and there is the general sense of not wanting any innocent person to die on his watch, but Steve knows deep down it’s about something else. Or more like the potential of something else. He tries not to think about it too hard.
So during that first week and half of watching a comatose Eddie, Steve takes his time studying the man. Learning every curve, and every scar. And eventually, every visible tattoo he can see. They are interesting, not all of them good, but all very Eddie. It somehow makes them better. Some of them are messed up from the bat bites (ironically the bat tattoos remain untouched), but they add to his aesthetic if Steve is being honest with himself.
When Eddie wakes up after that week and a half, groggy and confused (especially towards the fact that Harrington is practically holding vigil at his bedside), the first thing Steve says to him is “Oh thank god you’re awake.” The second is “What the hell were you thinking?” Before Eddie proceeds to pass out again.
Later, when all of the doctors and family and friends have had their time with him, the third thing Steve says to Eddie is, “Tell me about your tattoos.”
And despite the fact half of them are mangled, Steve doesn’t think he has ever seen anyone light up that bright in his life. And when Eddie starts waving his hands in excitement, Steve can’t help but think that he’s never been so close to the sun before.
So, two weeks after Vecna, Steve makes a decision. Or again, if he’s being honest, an impulse. He finds old books in the library about tattoos (which aren’t very helpful), and finds zines hidden between the pages (much more helpful) on stick and pokes.
Steve shows up with supplies from Melvad’s (for a probably very dangerous tattoo kit) at Robin’s doorstep. “Robs, I need you to give me a tattoo.” Then she proceeds to spit all of her morning tea on him.
After a lot of shouting “Did you hit your head again dingus? Oh my god did you get into another fight? Are you having a break down? SPEAK STEVE.”
And a lot of convincing, “Robin I’m fine. No I’m not having a breakdown. Robs, Robbie, Birdie, I swear nothing happen. I just want to do it.”
The end up on Robin’s bathroom floor (because of course all important things happen on the bathroom floor), with a look of deep concentration on her face. “I can’t believe you’re letting me do this, with only twenty minutes from a zine you smuggled out of Hawkins Library. I can’t believe they even have zines.”
“I don’t think they were aware of it honestly.” Steve snorts. His shirt was off, a patch hair already shaved off right where is heart is placed.
“Do you know what you want?” Robin asks, head tilted.
“No, not really. I was hoping you would help.”
Robin hums, like she’s resisting the urge to point out how impulsive he’s being. Like she knows he needs to do this. “Tell me what made you decide to want one.”
So Steve does. He tell her about waiting for Eddie to wake up. Wondering why Eddie got them. Wanting to own himself again, to actually like something new on his body. Put something there he had control of. His curiosity of if it were painful. His interest behind the stories of Eddies tattoos. How Eddie lit up so bright when asked. Wanting to feel like that. Wanting to be close to the sun again.
Robin mercifully didn’t look too deeply (or at least didn’t push on it) about the interest in Eddie himself. “Okay, I think I got it. Just…hold still.”
Twenty minutes later, after three passes with pen ink and a needle, Robin disinfects his tattoo. Before she covers up, she asks “Do you want to see it?”
Steve nods his head eagerly. The tattoo had painful, more painful than he expected, but he found it sort of grounding. Something to keep him aware of himself, almost as if he was able to grasp parts of himself he wasn’t conscious of before.
When Steve stands up to look in the mirror, there he sees off center on his chest, a wonky little sun. It was something a preschooler could have drawn, but it was one of the most beautiful things Steve had ever seen, and it was made by one of the most important people in his life.
Robin says shyly at Steve’s speechless state, “You said you wanted to be close to the sun again.”
Steve scoops Robin up in an instant, ignoring the stinging both on the outside and inside of his chest. “Thank you Birdie.” Which translates, you are the only person I ever need etched in me forever.
“Always, Stevie.” Which means, you’re never getting rid of me anyway.
They pull away with tearful smiles, and silent promises. Steve can start to feel maybe not much like his old self, but somewhere on the way to who he truly is.
Then Robin says, “Okay, me next.”
————
okay I wasn’t sure if really anyone wanted more, or if I was going to do it but I actually really enjoyed where this ended up. Also I apologize for any tense changes. I quite literally type this on my phone and say screw it, without looking it over. Let me know if you want more maybe? Send me prompts even. Thanks for reading :)

inspired by a reply @gregre369 left on yesterday’s post. this is why i love this site so much bc i had this idea floating aimlessly around my brain for such a long time and then someone says something that just connects all the dots for me so - much thanks <3
tw: brief reference to domestic violence
One of parenthood’s biggest surprises (in Eddie’s opinion, anyway) was how easy talking to his and Steve’s daughters about why his parents aren’t in his life was.
He’d figured it’d be hard to figure out exactly how to explain that his mother's death was due to domestic violence caused by his father, who had died in prison twenty years later – but…that about covers it, honestly. Sure, the exact rendition of the story the girls hear varies as they get older, but…it’s pretty straightforward, actually.
Explaining Steve’s situation turned out to be way more complicated for…well, for a lot of reasons, and the fact that his parents are still alive and breathing and choosing to not be around didn't help things at all.
It also didn't help that the girls totally saw Jim and Joyce as Steve’s parents, but it did lead to a conversation that Eddie doesn't think he'll ever forget:
It happened when he was passing through the kitchen to see that Steve was cooking with Moe.
"What're we up to in here?" he asked.
At four years old (she’s actually almost five), Moe has yet to outgrow a phase of picky eating that had started out right around her second birthday. Steve is trying out a new method where he involves Moe in the cooking process in the hopes that she then actually wants to eat the product of her hard work when it’s done. He's seeing varying levels of success.
“We're making burgers,” Moe said, “Poppy’s recipe.”
Eddie looked at Steve skeptically, “Poppy Jim or Poppy Joyce?”
Steve rolled his eyes, “I’m telling Joyce you said that.”
And then he added, “Jim.”
Satisfied, Eddie continued on his way.
“How come you call your dad Jim?” Moe asked.
And that had Eddie pausing in the hallway just out of their line of sight.
“Well, Poppy’s not my dad, sweet pea,” Steve replied.
“Did you not have a dad?”
“I did have a dad – I do. He lives in Indiana with my mom. We don't really talk to each other anymore though."
"Why?"
"When I was younger, I decided that they didn’t take care of me like I needed them too, and Jim and Joyce stepped in to be like my parents instead."
It's not completely accurate, Eddie knows (and he doesn't love the way Steve is shifting culpability away from his parents because that shit was fully on them, but whatever; it's his story and he can tell it however he want), but just like how they don't have a completely accurate picture of what happened to Eddie's mom either, they know what they need to know for now and they'll hear more down the line.
“But what did your mom and dad do?” Moe asked.
"Well, you know how Daddy and I read to you and play with you and put you to bed and make food for you – it was a little different because I was older and I needed different stuff than that, but…”
Eddie watched Steve look back at their oldest daughter, watched him see the look of confusion in her big brown eyes.
“They didn’t do that?” Moe asked, sounding perplexed.
Steve shook his head, and Moe continued to look at him as if he might suddenly tell her he was joking.
“That’s crazy,” Moe finally said, and Steve let out a laugh.
“It is kinda crazy, isn’t it?” he agreed, “That’s why I love being your dad so much, because it’s actually so easy to want to take care of you. Even though you sometimes like to make it hard on purpose, right?”
“Yeah,” she grinned proudly, “Like when I make you snuggle me more at bedtime and you fall asleep by accident and then the kitchen is messy in the morning."
"Uh-huh," Steve said, poking her in the side so she giggled, "Exactly like that."
"You're a good dad," Moe told him.
"You think?" Steve asked as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
"The best dad."
“The best?” he repeated, “Can’t let Daddy hear that.”
“He can hear it.”

You loved your best friend, you would die for her without hesitation but even you had to admit that to this day, her priorities still managed to surprise you.
“Someone shot at you and I wasn’t there? How dare you?”
You twirled the spoon in your hot chocolate. “Becca…”
“Seriously, I miss the one time someone has the audacity to try that shit?” Becca asked. “And Bucky was there instead of me? Ugh, the timing…”
“I promise I’ll call you the next time someone starts shooting at me.”
“You’d better,” she insisted. “And you didn’t even text me that night, I had to hear it from Bucky when he asked me where we got your dress from.”
You bit back a smile threatening to curl your lips.
“He shouldn’t have bothered,” you murmured. “I don’t want or need any gifts from him.”
She stole a look at you, then heaved a sigh and reached out to squeeze at your hand.
“I can’t believe you almost got taken.”
“I can’t believe someone hired a group of amateurs,” you corrected her. “I mean how rude is that? At least send a professional, you know? Where are their manners?”
“I heard Steve is still questioning the guy,” she said, taking her tea cup to her lips. “If he’s working for someone we know…”
“I doubt it.”
“So do I, but—” she paused for a moment. “Do you think this might break the truce?”
“No way,” you said. “I was unharmed and we don’t know who they are working for. Not to mention my father is too smart to break the truce.”
“Is Ian?” she asked nonchalantly and you shook your head.
“Ian isn’t the one calling the shots.”
“Thankfully,” she said, leaning back on her chair. “But he will use any and all excuses to start a war once he is the one calling the shots and the truce will be over.”
You pursed your lips before shaking your head.
“I’ll find a way to stop it,” you said. “That dickhead is not going to ruin everything our families worked for, no way.”
Becca waved her hands in the air.
“Ugh, let’s change the topic,” she said. “So you’re getting back together with your ex then?”
“It was just one dinner,” you said. “And he barely counts as an ex, really. We dated for a short time, and didn’t really spend much time outside bed.”
She wiggled her brows. “Well if you’re so eager to catch up with him after years, I’d say it was a pretty good time.”
A smile warmed your face.
“He was nice,” you said. “Nicer than most of my college boyfriends really.”
“Have you talked to him since the shoot-out?”
You paused for a moment, cradling the hot chocolate mug between your hands.
“I considered texting him but I doubt he wants to talk to me considering how disastrous that date was.”
“I don’t know,” she said with a shrug of her shoulders. “I wouldn’t call a shoot-out a disastrous date.”
“He actually got shot, Becca,” you reminded her. “He had to go to the hospital.”
“Alright but there are worse dates!” she insisted. “There was that one time back in college, a guy whipped out his guitar to spontaneously serenade me on a first date, that’s much worse than getting shot at.”
“I don’t disagree,” you said, scrunching up your nose. “Wasn’t there also that one girl who talked about her ex throughout your date?”
“Still not as terrible as the serenade guy.”
You shot her a grin before sipping your hot chocolate. “I guess I could text Ethan,” you said. “He probably doesn’t want to see me again but I feel like I should apologize so…”
“And maybe he can ask you out on a second date when you see him again.”
“I really don’t think so—” you started but your phone started vibrating on the table, making you stop talking. You took a look at the screen, your frown deepening as you did.
“Why is Bucky calling you?” Becca asked with a small laugh and you scoffed, then hit decline.
“Must be an accident,” you said. “Anyways I was going to tell you, you remember that girl from—”
This time, it was Becca’s phone that started vibrating. She raised her brows and bit back a smile, then answered the phone.
“Yes Bucky?” she asked and stole a look at you. “Why?”
You ran a hand over your face, then mouthed “don’t” but Becca ignored you.
What am I, your assistant?” she asked Bucky, then rolled her eyes as she listened to him. “Right right, very important as usual, fine. Yeah she’s here, I’m putting her on the phone.”
She handed you the phone and you let out a groan, then took it to your ear.
“What do you want?”
“What, no hello or anything?” he taunted you and you gritted your teeth.
“Hello Bucky, what do you want?”
“I need to see you.”
“I on the other hand could live out my days happily without seeing you,” you said and he chuckled.
“Is this still about the dress?”
“It’s about your existence in general.”
“Ouch,” he deadpanned. “So does 5 o’clock work for you?”
You checked your wristwatch.
“I have plans until 4 so no.”
“I meant 5 a.m,” he corrected you and you made a face.
“Do you just not sleep?” you asked. “I mean it wouldn’t surprise me if you were a vampire, now to think of it. Leather jackets, wearing all black, you have that brooding expression all the time…”
“I’ll text you the address.”
“Oh great, do that so that I can ignore that text,” you stated. “I’m not coming anywhere at 5 a.m.”
“Charm…”
“Why on earth would I even—”
“You need to be there to see our guest off, you know the rules.”
That was more than enough to make you pause, your head snapping up. You pursed your lips and ran a hand over your face, then huffed out.
“No promises.”
“See you at dawn sweetheart,” he said and hung up. You clicked your tongue, then handed Becca her phone back.
“What is that about?”
“Steve’s guest,” you said and Becca raised her brows, then shrugged her shoulders.
“Well,” she said, grabbing her tea cup. “No wonder you’re sending him off at dawn, I’d say he overstayed his welcome.”
                                                *
Meeting Ethan was going to be awkward, you knew it was. Too bad there wasn’t a get well soon card that also included an apology for causing a person to get shot as well, so you figured you could just come up with something when you were there. You walked through the door to the café, then slowly made your way to the table he was sitting at, typing into his laptop. You cleared your throat, making his eyes shoot up at you.
“Hey.” He pushed his chair back to stand up and you offered him a smile.
“Hey.”
“Please,” he motioned at the seat across from his and you sat down, then stole a look at his shoulder when he sat down as well.
“What did the doctors say?”
“That it was a clean shot, the bullet passed right through without hitting anything important,” he said. “They bandaged it and they’ll see, but it should heal without any issues.”
“Good,” you said, letting out a breath. “I’m glad.”
A silence fell upon you for a moment and he coughed lightly, sitting up straighter.
“So,” he said. “I guess it’s nice to have an answer to my question from earlier, after all these years.”
You leaned back in your chair, crossing your arms in silence.
“You could’ve told me, you know? While we were dating.”
“There was nothing to tell you then,” you said after you took a deep breath. “There’s nothing to tell you now.”
“Wait, what?” he asked, letting out a laugh. “You can’t be serious Y/N, come on…”
“What?”
“How else would you explain what happened that night?”
“An unfortunate incident,” you said with a shrug of your shoulders and he shot you a look.
“Steve’s men talked to me,” he said. “You have nothing to worry about, I’m not going to tell anyone anything so you don’t have to give me that. I get how it works.”
“Oh do you now?” you asked with a small smirk and he held up his hands.
“I’ve watched The Godfather for three times,” he said, coaxing a laugh out of you.
“You do realize that if it were anyone else, they would be running for the hills right now instead of meeting up with me again?”
“I mean I’m not going to lie, it’s very intimidating,” he said. “That whole thing. But I also think you’re the most interesting person I’ve ever met.”
The smile on your lips faded and you swallowed thickly before biting inside your cheek, trying to keep your expression flat.
“Ah,” you said, the familiar disappointment sinking your stomach. “That’s why you accepted to talk to me again?”
“What?”
“Because you think what happened back there was exciting or something?” you asked with a scoff, then reached out to grab your purse. “You should sign up for bungee jumping classes if that’s what you want—”
“No no,” he cut you off, shaking his head. “You misunderstand me. It was terrifying.”
You arched a brow. “And yet…
“You didn’t have to do what you did to protect me,” he said, making you pull your brows together.
“I beg your pardon?”
“I saw you,” he said, letting out a chuckle. “You were—you were kicking their asses until you saw they held the gun to my head. That’s why you stopped. For my safety.”
You pursed your lips together, then put your purse back in the chair, leaning back.
“Ethan…”
“I mean, if you’re a part of that world—”
“I said nothing like that,” you said almost automatically and he let out an impatient breath.
“Fine,” he said. “Hypothetically speaking, if you were a part of that world—”
“Hypothetically speaking,” you cut him off and stole a look around the café. “If I were a part of that world, I’d say there are rules. A code of honor.”
“A code of honor?”
“Live by the sword, die by the sword,” you recited what you had heard from your father and everyone around you multiple times. “But hypothetically, if someone is not a part of that world… Civilians didn’t sign up for that shit, and no one can force them to. Trust me, what I did wasn’t anything special.”
“Either way,” he said. “Code or not, I don’t think anyone else would have done it. That’s why I wanted to meet you actually, to thank you. What you did back there, it means a lot.”
Oh.
This was unexpected. If it were anyone else, they probably would have never wanted to see you again, let alone actually thanking you but it shouldn’t have been that surprising that Ethan saw it like that. It was one of the first thing that had drawn you to him back at college, he always managed to see the best in people.
“…Seriously?” you asked, a tiny ray of hope warming your chest and he nodded.
“Seriously,” he said. “I mean I’m not going to pretend it’s not scary but at the end of the day, I liked spending time with you.”
“I liked spending time with you as well,” you said with a small laugh. “Minus the incidents.”
“Fingers crossed for fewer incidents,” he joked and you nodded.
“No promises but I’ll try my best,” you said and he grinned, then drummed his hand on the table.
“So can I buy you a cup of coffee?”
“Oh it’d be great thank you!” you said as he stood up. “You’re very sweet. A decaf latte please.”
He tilted his head. “Decaf?” he asked. “I remember you downing five espresso shots with zero problems, what happened there?”
“I can still do that but I should cut down on caffeine today,” you said, smiling slightly. “I need to get up really early tomorrow.”
“How early are we talking?”
“5 a.m.” you said with a sigh. “And it will not be fun, I’m telling you.”
“You’re starting on yoga or something?”
A small laugh climbed up your throat and you nodded your head.
“Uh huh,” you said as he walked to the counter. “Or something.”
                                                      *
When the car pulled over in front of the skyscraper, you lifted your head off the window, wiping the drool off your cheek as discreetly as you could.
“We’re here, miss.”
“Thank you Carl,” you murmured before a yawn split your face and stretched out your tired muscles. The sky was still dark, and the chill of the air sent a shiver down your spine when Carl opened your door for you. You rubbed at your arms in an attempt to warm yourself up, then walked into the skyscraper with two bodyguards following you.
You stepped into the elevator and pressed the button that would get you to the roof, rubbing at your eyes while you checked your reflection in the mirror. The classic music filled the elevator, making you hum along until it came to a stop and the doors opened.
“Let’s do this then…” you murmured and walked out of the elevator, your whole body tensing up because of how cold it was. Bucky was standing in the middle of the roof, some of his men pacing around while two of them stood by the edge of the roof, looking down. The tight rope on the floor caught your eye and you followed it to the edge, tilting your head to the left.
“Is that him?” you asked and Bucky looked over his shoulder, then turned around to see you better.
“Charm,” he said. “Good morning.”
“Could’ve fooled me,” you muttered. “Why are we doing this at this hour again?”
“No potential civilian witnesses,” he said as you approached him, your shoulders still tense. He took a look at you, then shrugged off his long coat and dropped it over your shoulders, his pleasant scent filling your nostrils.
“I’m not even cold,” you said through chattering teeth even though your body immediately welcomed the warmth, and he scoffed a chuckle.
“Mm hm,” he said. “Of course you’re not.”
“That being said, I’ll send it back after I get home,” you said, your nose stuck in the air as you rolled the sleeves of the coat up a bit. “I’m not catching pneumonia just because you decided to pull this shit at dawn.”
“You should keep it,” Bucky said with a small smile. “Looks good on you.”
You rolled your eyes. “If you think—”
“Please don’t kill me, please!” the shout coming from the ledge cut you off and you glanced at the rope, then up at Bucky.
“How long has he been begging, exactly?”
“Too long for my patience,” he muttered before he raised his voice; “Shut it, asshole!”
“No no no, please I can—I’ll change,” the guy said. “I’ll—I’ll never cross paths with her again, I swear!”
“Funny, he seemed much more confident while he was shooting at me,” you commented and a dark shadow passed over Bucky’s eyes.
“Deadly mistake,” he drawled and you took a couple of steps to go to the edge of the roof to look down at the man hanging by a rope over the edge of the roof. He was too panicked to even notice you while he dangled there, trying to break free from the rope and you took a deep breath, then turned to Bucky.
“What’s his name?”
Bucky put a cigarette between his lips, then lit it and exhaled the smoke.
“Tony Willis.”
“No no no, please help me—”
“Tony Willis, you have been accused and found guilty of multiple crimes against the city,” you recited the speech you had heard from your father many times. “You have put civilians in danger, attacked a member of a key family, and tried to break the truce. The—”
“I’ll change! I’ll change I promise you!”
“The punishment for these crimes is death,” you continued, deaf to his begging. “The sentence is to be carried out immediately, by a member of the family or a person of their choosing.”
You stepped away from the ledge to walk to Bucky, ignoring the pleas of the man and Bucky stubbed his cigarette before holding out his gun for you, but you shook your head.
“I don’t want my hand to smell bad,” you muttered, scrunching up your nose and a fond smile appeared on Bucky’s lips.
“As the princess wishes,” he said, his voice almost soothing before pointed the gun at the rope on the floor. “Live by the sword, die by the sword.”
He fired the gun at the rope, making it snap in half and the man’s shouting ceased immediately as he plummeted to his death. For a moment no one said anything, a silence falling upon the rooftop while you stared at the first rays of the rising sun before you hid your yawn behind your palm, then lowered your hand and glanced up at Bucky.
“Well then,” you said, crossing your arms. “I don’t suppose you brought coffee?”

pairing: professor!steve harrington x professor!fem!reader
word count: 6.8k words
summary: in which it had been twelve years since you last saw steve harrington. and you never thought about him, mainly because you’d forced yourself not to. but, suddenly, it was hard to avoid thoughts or reminders of him when after all of those years, you finally saw him again. it was an abrupt moment that oh so quickly brought back memories and old feelings that managed to do a number of things; confuse, scare, and worry you. after everything that happened between you two, you fully believed that you would never want to talk to him again. but maybe that was the exact thing that needed to happen.
warnings: explicit language, mentions of cheating, a bit of fluff, implied smut, a shit ton of angst but with a happy ending
author’s note: this took forever and it's insanely long but i love the way it turned out<33 the rest of the trilogy will be out next, so "august" and then "betty" coming (very) soon!! (full "folklore" album series masterlist here!)

Fall Semester 1996
You rarely ever thought about your life pre-Rhode Island. Mainly because you never wanted to, but also because it felt so far in the past that there was never any reason to focus on what used to be.
You segmented your life into two phases. One, before you left your hometown, and, two, the moment you drove past the “Leaving Hawkins” sign and never looked back, refraining to listen to the part of the sign that told you to “Come Again Soon.”
It had been nearly twelve years since you left the small Indiana town, and there wasn’t one moment where you ran into anyone that you once knew from that “before” life, which, in turn, meant that you never had any reason to think about Hawkins.
Until you did run into someone. And it was probably the worst possible person you could’ve ever run into.
Steve fucking Harrington.
You would’ve rather seen Simon Gardener— your crush from sixth grade who you’d thrown up in front of when the two of you got paired up on a Science project— than Steve.
But, now here he was, standing barely twenty feet away from you. You’d nearly dropped the coffee you’d waited almost twenty minutes for from your favorite coffee shop. Instead, you spilled some on your hand and only inwardly winced at the feeling because you didn’t want to draw attention to yourself.
You almost turned around and walked out of the building you just walked into, but your office was right down the hallway that Steve was currently standing in the middle of along with the head of the English Department, Dan. And now that there was spilled coffee on your hand you really needed to go in there and rummage through the drawer of your desk that contained a bunch of leftover napkins from random nights when you’d order takeout to your office.
Before you could contemplate further about what your next course of action should be, Dan spotted you and called your name, waving you over to where he and Steve were standing.
“Hi, good morning,” You greeted him, expertly avoiding eye contact with Steve because you didn’t want to see his reaction to seeing you for the first time in what pretty much felt like forever.
“Let me introduce you to the new addition to the History department upstairs,” Dan said and then gestured to Steve, which forced you to finally look at him. “Steve Harrington.”
You could tell he was surprised to see you, but he hid that surprise by smiling at you, and you hated that even after all of these years, his smile still managed to do something to you.
Now that you were closer to him, you could see some minor differences about him. His hair was a bit shorter, nothing too crazy or dramatic, but you noticed how his “iconic” hair was a bit more tame compared to how it used to be. And somehow he managed to get a little taller, only a couple of inches, but still you noticed that too.
He overall looked older, which obviously made sense because twelve years would do that to a person. However, there was still something all too familiar about him. That same boyish presence that you had gotten so used to seeing still lingered on him. Behind his eyes, you saw exactly that boy you fell in love with that one summer.
The summer that you never really thought about; in fact, you’d forced yourself not to think about it. But, now with him right in front of you, random flashbacks to moments from that July and August, especially August, were the only things circling your mind.
Your loud laughs and wide smiles as you swam in his pool and let your body wrap around his underneath the water, your drunken talks until the sun came up, the makeout sessions in his car that almost always led to doing other things in his bed since his parents were never home.
You pushed those memories far away, just as quickly as they resurfaced.
“Hi,” You said to him and forced a small smile.
You could tell that he was studying you just as you had been studying him, taking note of what you looked like now and comparing that to the version of you that he used to know. Whatever differences you had, you felt like they were subtle like his were, and just came with the territory of aging twelve years, but maybe he saw something else. He was the only person who you felt was able to actually look inside of you; he had known the ins and outs of who you were.
“She’s a Professor in the English department,” Dan told Steve, and you were insanely grateful for Dan’s presence at that moment because you knew that it would be hell if you had been alone with Steve right then. “Oh, what happened to your hand?”
You looked down at your hand, somehow you had actually forgotten about the spill that happened only moments ago.
“Little coffee mishap,” You said with a small, awkward laugh. “I have some napkins in my office, though, so I’m just going to head in there.” You looked at Steve and directed another forced smile at him, you had a feeling you’d be doing that a lot now. “Nice to meet you.”
You mentioned something to Dan about seeing him at a faculty meeting later and then headed to your office, which was only about ten feet away.
When it was just you alone behind the shut door of your office, your brain could finally process everything that had just happened.
Steve was here. Not Hawkins, not Indiana, Rhode Island. And not only was he simply in Rhode Island, but he now worked at the college you had been working at for the past two and a half years.
The only word you could think of at that moment was “Fuck,” and then you couldn’t help but mutter it under your breath. You took a sip of your coffee and let the familiar sweet and slightly bitter taste soothe your nerves.
Barely thirty minutes later— after trying your hardest to finish up the planning for a lecture you had been working on for the past few days but failing miserably because your mind couldn’t help but wonder why Steve was here of all places— you were stepping out of your office and almost crashed right into him.
“Jesus Christ,” You yelped; once again so surprised to see him.
“I swear I was about to knock and this is just freakishly weird timing,” He quickly told you. “I wasn’t being a creep and waiting for you to come out.”
“Okay,” You said with a small nod. Somehow his nervousness at that moment made you feel less nervous. “Um, what’s up?”
“Can we talk, maybe?”
“I have a class in fifteen minutes, so I can’t now,” You told him as you glanced down at the watch on your wrist. “But, um, maybe soon, yeah?”
You were completely lying, there was no way you were going to talk to him soon; at least not about what you assumed he wanted to talk about. You refused to do that.
Luckily Steve couldn’t see through your lie, or if he did, he didn’t call you out on it. Instead, he nodded at your words before you walked away.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
“'cause i knew you. steppin' on the last train marked me like a bloodstain. i knew you. tried to change the ending peter losing wendy.”
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
Somehow, and much to your grateful surprise, you rarely ever saw Steve. And when you did, because he was only just upstairs so it was sort of inevitable, there were only quick passing glances shared between you two along with tight-lipped smiles and small waves; both of you too busy to have any kind of actual conversation with one another.
However, you did manage to learn a few things about him over the past month he’d been there. You heard through the grapevine— said grapevine being various faculty members that seemed to grow a quick liking to Steve— that he was taking over Tamara Wilson’s two Early European History classes for the rest of the Fall semester because she went on maternity leave, and in the Spring he’d be teaching it again along with a U.S. history course.
None of that information answered the one question constantly running through your mind, though.
What the hell was he doing here?
Because you had to admit, you were so curious to know about all of it. How he was here, why he was here, how this coincidence could’ve happened.
But, you also really didn’t want to talk to him because you had the strongest feeling that the conversation would also involve the past, that summer, and how much you didn’t want that to happen outweighed your curiosity.
Therefore, on the night of the college’s annual Winter Gala, the first instance that could actually allow you two to talk to one another, you still tried your hardest to avoid him.
You had always hated these kinds of events because they were solely used to schmooze alumni and other donors to get them to give the school money, and even though you understood the need for that, you still didn’t enjoy attending. However, you knew that you always had to show face, at least for an hour or two.
And you made it nearly an hour and a half without having to see Steve and you were almost certain that you actually wouldn’t see him. But, moments before you were about to make your final rounds and say goodbye to people, mainly Dan so you could prove to him that you’d shown up, you felt a tap on your shoulder.
It was almost too easy to know that it was Steve because it was only his touch that ever managed to send something equivalent to an electric shock through your body. And with the strapless black dress you were wearing, his hand making contact with your bare shoulder immediately made surprised goosebumps rise to your skin.
“Hi,” He said, offering a small smile. Somehow the first thing you noticed about him was the bow tie he was wearing. He was also wearing a black suit with a white button-up shirt, but the bow tie caught your eye first. You were immediately reminded of a memory of him saying how much he hated bow ties, but you had told him how great he looked in one. In this moment, you hated how right you still were.
“Hey,” You responded with a smile of your own, and you sincerely hoped he couldn’t see your nervousness through it. He opened his mouth to say something but you jumped in before he could. “How’s your first month here been so far?”
“Good,” Steve answered with a nod. “A little weird just jumping in at the middle of the semester and trying to go along with what Wilson already set on the syllabus. A weekly quiz was on there, and I immediately told the students that we wouldn’t be doing that anymore.”
“They probably love you for that.”
“Yeah, I got a round of applause on my first day.”
You couldn’t help but smile at that, you were only fifty percent sure that he was joking, but either way, the thought amused you.
You wanted to ask when he got into history and into teaching, but maybe that question would open a can of worms that would lead to other topics of conversation you wanted to stay away from.
“I can guarantee that at least half of them will want to be in your class next semester,” You said instead of asking what you really wanted. “You’re gonna be doing U.S. History, right?”
“Yeah, and I’ll still be taking over for Wilson, so I’ll have three courses next semester, which should be interesting,” Steve nodded, and then a look crossed his face as if he just remembered something. “But, that probably sounds like nothing to you because I heard that you’re currently doing four American Lit courses and one British Lit course. Oh, and you’re the only person in the English department teaching that many courses, which sounds insane but that’s also pretty cool.”
You pretended as if now knowing that he had asked about you didn’t affect you at least a tiny bit. And you also pretended that hearing the admiration in his voice didn’t affect you at all either.
“Yeah, I’ve only been teaching here for a little over two years, so I still get stuck with most of the basic courses. Which isn’t horrible, but it’s pretty boring and easy, so I always do a lot,” You told him with a small shrug. All of the work that had been on your plate for the past few years sounded like a lot— maybe even too much— but in your mind, it actually wasn’t as crazy as it seemed. Because you liked drowning yourself in your job, it made you feel useful, and you’d spent so much time before and right after you left Hawkins feeling the exact opposite that you’d do almost anything to make sure you never felt that way again. “But, next semester I’m doing an advanced Creative Writing course for the first time, in addition to only two American Lit courses, so I’m pretty excited about that.”
Steve smiled at you. “That’s nice.”
This small talk felt okay to you, it was bearable. It was also mundane and a little trivial, but you’d rather that than talk about the past. Apparently, Steve had other plans, though.
“I had no idea you moved here.”
You pulled your eyes away from his and focused on your half-empty flute of champagne that you’d gotten when you arrived at the event and was probably disgustingly warm by now. You contemplated for a few moments whether or not you should avoid Steve’s question or allow the conversation to go in the direction that it was inevitably meant to go in. Maybe it was stupid to think that you’d be able to pretend as if your past, which Steve was quite involved in, never existed.
“Yeah… I went to college in Massachusetts and then I went to grad school here in Rhode Island but in a different part of the state, a little more north. And I always just stayed here, always finding a reason to stay around, some small internship or job, and then I ended up at this college because a friend who was already working here recommended me. I had never done any teaching before, but I actually like it.”
You didn’t tell him that the main reason why you always found a reason— more so desperately searched for reasons— to stay in Rhode Island was so that you never had to go back to Hawkins. But, maybe that was obvious, at least to him, because he was a huge factor as to why you knew that you needed to leave that town and never look back.
You silently wondered if he had been gone from Hawkins for a long time too, and then you realized that with the turn the conversation had taken, you could actually ask that question.
“When did you leave Hawkins?”
“Almost ten years ago now,” Steve said, and you had to admit, you were kind of surprised by that answer. To you, he always seemed like the type of person that would want to stay in the small town. “Decided it was time for a scenery change and my parents, especially my dad, were more than happy to send me anywhere.” He let out a dry and slightly sad chuckle, and you were all too quickly reminded of why you had always despised his parents. “He pulled some strings at this small college in Ohio, so I went there and actually liked it a lot, and I haven’t been back to Hawkins since.”
You two were sitting at an empty table now, somehow silently agreeing to migrate to that spot as you continued your conversation. You placed the glass in your hand on the white tablecloth and turned to look at Steve.
“When did you get into history?”
“My first semester I had this professor for a World History class and he was really great; Richard James. It was probably the first class ever that I actually cared about what was going on because of how he was teaching everything and I became pretty interested in history. I took a couple more history classes with him and some other professors too, and still really liked it so I changed my major to it. And after I graduated I started TA-ing for some of the advanced classes he was teaching.”
There was a smile on your face that you wanted to get rid of but couldn’t because it was just so nice to hear how happy Steve was as he talked about the past almost ten years of his life. You hated to admit it, and you’d probably never do so out loud, but there was still a part of you that cared about him so much, and you were glad that he was happy.
“And then I ended up here because last month Richard was supposed to do a talk here, but he got sick last second and asked me to fill in for him. And for some reason, the head of the History department really liked me and offered me a job.”
You had never been the biggest fan of history so it wasn’t that surprising that you had missed the first time that Steve had been here, but your mind couldn’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if your paths had accidentally crossed then.
“I want you to know, though, that if I would’ve known that you also worked here, I wouldn’t have taken the job,” Steve told you, somehow pretty much reading your mind and answering your unasked question. “Because I know you left Hawkins because of me. Because you never wanted to see me again, which I completely understand.”
His words right then surprised you and you had no idea what to say in response to that; your thoughts started running a million miles a second and you could only look down at your hands in your lap. But then you didn’t have to say anything because Steve kept talking.
“I’m still really sorry about everything that happened.”
You were so close to telling him to stop talking about it. You were fully ready to make up some lie about how the past was in the past, and how you were over everything that happened twelve years ago.
But, right then you actually didn’t want to lie and pretend that none of it mattered. You didn’t want to avoid the past like a plague, as you’d been doing for the past decade, and like you especially had been doing for the past month since Steve showed up in Rhode Island.
However, it couldn’t happen here. In the school’s basketball court that had been transformed for the evening into a ballroom-type of elegant space. No one was paying attention to either of you, but the potential for someone to come up at any moment while you were finally having this conversation with Steve worried you.
You finally let your eyes meet his again. “Can we talk about this outside?”
Steve nodded as you stood up and he followed you out the nearest door.
It was dark outside, the time now nearing on ten o’clock, but the many lamp posts brightened up the emptiness of the quad. You found a bench and sat down, the cool metal against your back calmed your nerves a bit.
You were suddenly reminded of the last time you and Steve talked to each other before you left Hawkins, which was about a month into Senior year at a random party at Rachel McKenna’s house. It was barely even a conversation because you refused to listen to him and his slew of apologies back then. And then you also refused to talk to him for the entirety of the school year.
You were still unsure if you had any regrets about that.
“I really don’t even know where to start,” You said now with a small sigh. “I always forced myself to never think about us; about that summer and the aftermath of it too. For the longest time I pretended as if none of it really mattered. Because I knew that we no longer mattered to each other.”
“You always mattered to me,” Steve told you and it was almost too easy to hear the honesty in his tone.
Still, you were quick to shake your head at him. “Stop, you can’t say stuff like that.”
“But, it’s the truth.”
You bypassed that softly spoken statement because even though you could hear that he was being honest, you didn’t want to acknowledge it right then. So, instead, you focused on something else that he previously said.
“You’re right. You were the main reason that I left Hawkins, not the only reason but definitely one of the big ones. But, it’s also funny because you were one of the reasons why I almost wanted to stay.” Your next words sat right on the tip of your tongue, but they were almost too hard to get out. You cleared your throat and took a quick breath before speaking. “Because I loved you, I literally loved you. So much. But, I knew that I couldn’t, or that I shouldn’t, because nothing could actually happen between us. That summer we were living in a dumb fairytale that could never become a reality. And it was so fucking stupid of me to ever think that we could actually be something real.”
“I wanted us to be something real,” Steve said and you had to bite back the scoff you wanted to let out in response.
“Yeah, weeks after you told me that what we were doing would have to be over because it was the end of summer and Nancy was coming back to town,” You said, trying hard not to let yourself get thrust back into that memory because the exact words he had said to you that day were still etched in your mind. “But, when we abruptly ended, it finally put everything into perspective for me. I felt like such a shitty person because of what we did and how it was a fucked up thing to do. And then immediately having to pretend as if none of it ever happened made it all feel so much worse. I hated you, but I hated myself so much more for everything that happened. That’s why I never wanted to see you or talk to you again, especially at that stupid party.”
You hadn’t realized you were crying until a soft look took over Steve’s face and you suddenly felt the wetness on your cheeks. You haphazardly wiped them away and averted your eyes from his, feeling immensely embarrassed because you hated that talking about all of that, things from years and years ago, still made you cry like you were that seventeen-year-old girl all over again.
“I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry you felt that way,” Steve told you. “But, it was all so much more my fault than it was yours. I was the one that cheated on her.”
“But, I knew. I knew about Nancy, and I knew that what we were doing was wrong.” But, I still did it because I wanted you so bad, and I loved that you wanted me too. You didn’t say that part because you hated the way it would make you sound.
“Still, it will always be more my fault. I was such an asshole back then. All of that ‘King Steve’ stuff really got to my head and I did a lot of shitty things,” He said, and you could tell that he wasn’t proud of that part of his past and he really did feel bad about it. “But, I don’t regret you, or us, or that summer, though. And maybe that still makes me somewhat of an asshole, but that’s okay because it’s true. I don’t regret you. Not at all.”
Somehow hearing him say those words made you realize that you didn’t regret any of it either, which was a thought that actually made you want to cry harder. Because even though you should’ve regretted everything because of every single thing that happened after— the hurt and shame you felt so strongly for months after— you knew that you’d let yourself do it all over again.
You’d still stupidly talk to him for the first time ever outside “Ralph’s Sandwich Shop” after he mocked you on the fact that you liked to put potato chips inside your sandwich and then praised you once he tried it and realized how good it was. And you’d definitely still let him kiss you for the first while swimming in his pool in the middle of the night after whispering to him, “Are you sure?” and his answer being a small nod and his lips pressing against yours that led to the chain of events that brought you both to where you were now.
You wholeheartedly knew that you’d do it all over again. And because of that, it made you say your next statement.
“I don’t want to be angry and upset with you anymore, or pretend you don't exist. I want us to be okay with each other.”
“I want that too. I want us to be friends,” Steve said, and although being friends was a lot different from simply being okay with one another, it actually didn’t sound like too crazy of an idea to you.
You nodded at him. “Okay. Yeah, me too.”
You held out your hand for Steve to take, which he did, and the two of you shook hands to seal this “deal.”
Your gaze broke from his and you glanced down a bit. “Nice bow tie, by the way.”
“I remember someone told me that I looked good in them and I believed her.”
“She’s still right.”
“Good to know.”
You both smiled at each other and then laughed, and it may have taken twelve years, but it finally felt like the past was really in the past.

Spring Semester 1997
It was during the most random of moments that you were startled by how close you were able to become with Steve again, and how almost too easily it was able to happen.
Joking around with one another actually felt normal to do, and even talking to each other about anything and everything somehow felt like second nature all over again.
Steve was the one person from your “before” life that you had wholeheartedly believed you never wanted to see again, and now you were glad that he was in your life again. Those stark lines between “before” and “after” that you had drawn twelve years ago were now completely smudged.
Sometimes when the two of you were in your or his office late at night simultaneously working on whatever you needed to while eating takeout from random places, you were hit with the thought, “Holy shit, I can’t believe I’m here with Steve fucking Harrington right now,” and when you would tell him that random thought, he’d laugh a bit and agree that this sudden turn of events did feel at least a little unexpected.
But, he liked how things changed these past few months, and you really did too.
Now it was you asking to use the shower in his hotel room that once again made you feel surprised by how comfortable you were with him.
“Can I use your shower? The one in my room doesn’t get hot for some reason,” You had said and then immediately laughed because of how insane the request was, but of course, Steve didn’t mind.
“Yeah, sure,” He answered with a nod of his head, opening his door further to fully let you in the room.
“Thank you,” You said, smiling at him as you walked in, a towel from your hotel room next door in hand along with a change of clothes. “I’m gonna tell the front desk about it tomorrow. I would do it now, but after the four-hour drive today, I actually feel disgusting and am in dire need of a shower.”
The two of you along with a handful of other faculty from the English, History, and Theology departments were in upstate New York for a small weekend-long conference. Things like that were definitely one of your favorite parts of your job. Hearing talks from the authors of books that you loved, and then being able to pick their brains afterward. It felt like you were a student all over again, but in a better way because you were only listening to the stuff you cared about.
It was also pretty endearing seeing how excited Steve was about everything too. He’d gone on and on about a lecture on World War II that was scheduled for tomorrow for at least an hour during your car ride together, and his happy rambling somehow made you want to go to it too.
“I haven’t taken a shower yet, so I actually don’t know if mine works either,” Steve told you as you headed toward the bathroom.
“Oh God, please don’t say that,” You responded and went to turn on the shower. You sighed in relief when you felt the water get warm on your hand. “Okay, we’re good!”
After your shower, you joined Steve where he was sitting at the foot of his bed. It probably would’ve made sense to head back to your room, both of you had to be up fairly early in the morning, but you didn’t necessarily want to leave just yet; even though the two of you had just spent the past four hours holed up in a car together.
He was clicking through channels on the small television placed atop the dresser, trying to decide on something to put on, before settling on a movie that looked quite familiar to you; Footloose. It was the movie that the two of you watched the first time you went over to his house that summer.
“Do you remember this movie?” He smiled at you and it was hard not to laugh at his question.
You met his gaze. “I definitely remember, but do you? Because you fell asleep during it.”
“I eventually got around to watching it,” He responded and you smiled at that.
“Good,” You told him as you pulled your eyes away from his and turned your attention back toward the television, the movie was close to the end.
When the credits started rolling ten minutes later, you were about to say goodnight to Steve and finally head back next door to your room, but he started speaking before you said anything.
“Do you ever wonder how different things would be now if we had ended up together back then?” He asked, and the vulnerability and genuine curiosity laced within the question made your heart constrict. “If I hadn’t been an idiot and gone back to Nancy at the end of the summer. If I realized earlier that I really wanted to be with you.”
His words actually managed to surprise you because, over the last few months of you and Steve becoming friends again, that part of your deeply intertwined past was something that neither of you talked about. What the two of you used to be to each other, so deeply and utterly in love, hadn’t once come up in your conversations. Maybe it was the elephant in the room that had yet to be addressed. However, a part of you also felt that it was unnecessary to talk about it because, just like everything else, that was also in the past.
“Things would’ve definitely been different,” You ultimately said, words feeling unsure because you now felt so confused. Your next statements came out rushed as you leaned back on the bed, your back hitting the comforter and your hands covering your face because you were purposefully avoiding eye contact with him. “Sorry, I don’t really know what to say right now. I didn’t expect you to say that, and now my mind is kinda spiraling a bit.”
The question became a broken record in your mind.
Do you ever wonder how different things would be now if we had ended up together back then?
You actually had never wondered about that because, for the longest time, you had forced yourself not to think about Steve, or that summer, or even Hawkins in general. But now your brain was spiraling in a thousand different directions with potential answers to the simply stated but insanely loaded question.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. That was a stupid question. I don’t even know why I asked it, honestly,” Steve responded, words coming out rushed just as yours had. Something about his current sudden nervousness reminded you of the first encounter you two had in the hallway when you learned that he lived in Rhode Island. “Please forget I said anything.”
You didn’t want to forget, though.
“It would’ve been good, I think,” You said softly. You could feel Steve’s eyes on you, but you still didn’t want to meet his gaze. “I think we would’ve been really good together. I wouldn’t have spent almost every day working at the library, and instead, I would’ve gone to your basketball games and swim meets, and I’d actually enjoy it all because I was watching you. And we would’ve gotten drunk at parties on the weekends, and then the next morning you’d still drive me to my shift at the library and stay the entire time because there was nothing else that you wanted to spend your Sunday morning and afternoon doing. Maybe after graduating, we would’ve chosen colleges somewhere close to Hawkins, or even somewhere so far away from the small town. Probably someplace far away. But that part of it doesn’t really matter because we would’ve been together, and that’s all that would have mattered.”
There was really no doubt in your mind that that would’ve happened, or a different but similar version occurring that also included you and Steve simply being happy and in love with one another.
You felt the bed shift a bit after a few moments of your previous words lingering in the air of the hotel room and settling heavily over Steve, and you finally pulled your hands away from your face to look at him. He was now also leaning back against the bed and staring up at the ceiling.
“God, I was such a dumbass,” He muttered, and you could hear the sadness in his voice.
You turned on your side to face him. “We both were. I wish I let myself forgive you at that party.”
“I didn’t deserve your forgiveness then,” He responded as he turned on his side as well and met your eyes. “Sometimes I feel like I barely deserve it now.”
There was so much you could’ve said in response to that but words didn’t feel right in that moment. So, instead of saying something along the lines of, “Please stop beating yourself up about it. You’re a good person,” you shimmied yourself closer to him, closing the small gap of space between you two, and pulled him in for a hug.
The position was awkward, one of your arms was sandwiched underneath him and you knew that it would almost immediately fall asleep and cause some discomfort. However, any and all awkwardness faded away when you felt Steve reciprocate and his arms circled around you.
“It’s okay, okay? I promise everything is okay between us,” You whispered, almost certain that your words got lost in his neck, but when you felt him squeeze you tighter you knew that he was able to hear you clearly. And not only that, but he believed you.
And then it felt like almost second nature for you to make a joke to make things feel light again. “Actually, I’m still offended that you fell asleep during Footloose the first time we ever hung out. I don’t forgive you for that.”
You felt his body shake with laughter which made you smile, and after a few moments, you pulled back from the hug to find him smiling softly at you.
“I’ll redeem myself when the sequel comes out,” He said.
“It’s been twelve years, I think the sequel ship has sailed.”
He laughed again. “Okay, yeah, that’s true.”
You should’ve taken the newfound silence as your opportunity to say goodnight to him and head next door to your room. However, you couldn’t find the will to fully pull yourself away from him. His arms were still around you, like yours were, and your faces were dangerously close. But, the current proximity didn’t feel dangerous or worrisome to you. Instead, it simply felt right; which was an abrupt feeling that should’ve confused you, but somehow it didn’t.
“I really missed you,” He told you, breaking the silence with a statement that only cemented that “rightness” you were feeling at that moment.
“I missed you too.” Your four words somehow felt so effortlessly honest. Even though you had pretended that he and that summer never mattered by forcing your thoughts away from it all, Steve always still held a place in your heart. Deep down inside of you, something that resembled a yearning for him almost always lingered. “I constantly tried to tell myself that that wasn’t true, but I really did miss you… And I’m so glad we’re here right now.”
“Me too.” He looked at you so softly that you felt yourself slowly melting under his gaze.
In your mind, which now suddenly felt so clear and the farthest thing from confused, the next thing you wanted to do seemed like the best thing to do. In fact, it was something that you felt like you needed to do.
Your hand that was resting at the nape of Steve’s neck moved to his cheek as you dipped your head just a tiny bit closer to him.
Steve closed the small gap some more and his lips ghosted over yours for what felt like a fraction of a second before he pulled back a little and looked at you. “Are you sure?”
“Now that sounds awfully familiar,” You joked, referring to that moment in his pool all those years ago, and although he cracked a smile at your statement, you knew his question was serious.
You weren’t kids anymore. The two of you couldn’t just kiss and let it mean nothing in the end.
But, you truly didn’t want it to mean nothing.
You couldn’t have a good ending back then, but did that mean that you still couldn’t have one now?
“I’m so sure about this,” You told him and before he could potentially respond with anything, you let your lips find his, and how quickly Steve kissed you back nonverbally told you how he felt about it all too.
You were completely done for, you knew that for certain. There was nothing that could compare to this and there would never be anything that could compare to this— Steve’s lips on yours for the first time in years, but it feeling like the last time it happened was only yesterday. It was all so innate and easy, probably the easiest thing you’d ever done.
The way his hand found your waist to pull you even closer to him, which made you inwardly smile, and the way you let your fingers settle in his hair and lightly tug on the brown locks, which elicited a soft sigh in contentment from him— you still knew every part of each other so well.
Two people that had been apart for so long finally coming back together. It was a statement that technically summed up you and Steve, but in your eyes, that felt too simple and didn’t accurately summarize the hurt, pain, and turmoil that had accompanied the past twelve years. And it especially didn’t correctly encompass the current part of it all, the “coming back together” part.
Because that part felt indescribable.
A part of it felt similar to watching a movie that ended just the way you wanted it to, or having someone right there to help you get back up and patch up your wounds after you’d fallen off your bike. A feeling that said that even though everything had once felt so uncertain and the complete opposite of perfect, it wasn’t that way anymore.
Things quickly felt so good and right, and both of you were already making internal promises— promises that you’d later whisper to one another while wrapped up in the sheets of Steve’s bed— to never let each other go so easily again.

A/N: Why does friends to lovers with Steve make so much sense that I can't stop thinking about it?
Tumblr media
Someone always ended up hooking up at parties, it was like an unspoken law of going to them. You will meet someone and you will at the very least make out with them. At most you will end up on top or under or sideways of them in a bed, doesn't matter much whose and not remember them after.
This wasn't the case this time because even with all the alcohol in the world you couldn't forget Steve Harrington, your childhood friend, who was currently kissing his way up your naked stomach, the both of you giggling from the alcohol and butterflies in your stomach.
Steve was who you arrived at the party with but you never imagined he was gonna be the guy you were leaving with too. The first kiss was almost a joke, the both of you thinking it was the alcohol. Then you stopped drinking for a bit, had a few snacks, kissed again, and again, and again, there was some humping in the car, your hand on his hard cock while he drove, and then more kissing as you blindly stumbled into the bedroom and tossed away your clothes.
"Stop for a second." You pushed him away, still laughing.
"Yeah?" He asked with an unopened condom wrapper in his mouth, "You wanna stop? Did you change your mind?"
You laughed before you kissed him, easing his worries, "No, I just need to get something for myself." He had an adorable confused look on his face as you waltzed over to his shirt and pulled it over your head, "You know how much I like this one."
"Yeah cause you bought it for me." It was a gift from you, over five years ago. And he wore it often, so clearly he was very fond of it too. Or he wore it to make you happy, either explanation made you the happy one.
"You don't mind if I wear it do you?" You asked, already half-way to pulling it on. Steve's mouth feel open as he watched the fabric cover your breasts, the stiff peaks of your nipples clearly visible, "I'll take that as a no. Now where were we, pretty boy?" Steve shook his head and rolled the condom on, signaling that he was now ready for you. "You're hot when you're flustered."
"Not flustered really. Never thought I'd be having sex with one of my best friends. Or confessing to you." That was one part you had yet to address, your mutual confession, a drunken one then, now you were both s bit more sober. "I meant it, just so you know. The alcohol gave me the courage to say it for the first time but I don't want it to be the only time." Steve pulled you back to bed and wrapped his arms around your back, your faces close, eyes glistening, "I'm so in love with you. I've been in love with you for a year, I wanted to tell you for a year, and now I'm telling you, I'm in love with you."
It was different hearing those words from him. People said them before, even when you had sex with them, they never carried the same weight.
Steve already confessed to you, and you to him, you ad to make it even. "I'm in love with you. You were always there for me to cheer me up and drag me into your nonsense, life threatening mind you, but you also had my back. You're one of the sweetest men I've met, maybe the sweetest. I'm in love with you, Steve Harrington, head over heels in fact."
"I could make it heels over head if you want." His eyebrow wiggle was too cute to warrant an eyeroll. "But for tonight, I'd like to look at your face, if you don't mind." God, he was such a romantic too, you scored big time by falling in love with him.
"I don't mind, Steve." This kiss was much slower and softer then the others, no urgency, passion yes but it wasn't rough, there was pressure and hunger, but it was all so calculated, measured, your breathing slow at first and then a sharp inhale as Steve climbed in top of you, his body pushing between your legs, his cock rolling against your pussy. "Let me."
You watched his whole body stiffen when you took hold of his cock and aligned it perfectly with your pussyhole, "I don't know why I'm so nervous. Are you nervous?"
Given how fast your heart was beating, through his shirt almost, it was an easy guess. "Yeah. But it's you, so I know it's gonna be okay. I trust you."
Steve never gave you reason to do otherwise.
With a shared deep breath your bodies joined as one, his cock perfectly snug inside your pussy walls, a perfect fit if ever there was one. It was a single perfect moment, one in which you never broke eye contact, never stopped smiling even as he leaned down to kiss you.
His hands sought yours, intertwining your fingers with his as he began to move inside you, out all the way to the very tip and then easily back in, your bodies relaxing more with each thrust until it began to feel as easy and natural as breathing.
You couldn't wrap your mind around how it could feel this good, you wanted more of him, yet you had all of him right now, it wasn't enough yet. "I love you, I love you, no one ever made it feel this good, this special for me." Steve's cock twitched at your confession as well as your praise, "That's it, there."
"Here?" He smirked as he thrust with a little roll upwards, hitting your gspot, making you suck in air through your teeth, "You feel amazing. A perfect tightness for me. I think we're very compatible, you and I. A perfect fit, a perfect pair, sweetheart."
You smiled from ear to ear when you heard his affectionate nickname for you. You never wanted this night to end, you wanted to keep this moment lasting forever, you and Steve, loving each other, the echoes and mixes of your moans and skin slapping against skin looped until your body went still from the force of your orgasm.
"Need to throw this away real quick." Steve was reluctant to pull away too, but he had to throw away the condom in the trash. Luckily the separation only lasted a few seconds as he was already next to you by the time you finished stretching out your sore body. He threw a sheet over your legs but kept your upper half uncovered, you were already wearing his shirt after all, so you wouldn't be cold when he holds you close through the night. "I can't wait to do that again."
"You do realize we're gonna have a hell of a fucking headache when we wake up right? I'm not fucking you with a headache." The good news was there would be no awkward sneaking out because your feelings were mutual.
"Then you can stay over until it goes away. We'll make breakfast, take a shower, cuddle, make a date out of it. Not the most conventional one but I'll take any date with you." You snuggled against his chest , looking forward to your first date tomorrow.
