Steve, shoving his way into frame: Buy his new song! Buy his new song so I can get new kitchen cabinets.
Steve: I want new cabinets and he said no! So buy his song and make him happy so I can get cabinets
Eddie: Thats not - do actually check out the song and for the record, I said no because we did a complete renovation of the kitchen three years ago

glimpse of us pt. 2 (angst)
characters: Eddie Munson x Female Reader x Steve Harrington warnings: angst, sad eddie :( words: 3,176 parts: 1 | 2 | 3 | final part taglist: @imasimptoowth, @lokiswh0reeee, @kiki17483,  info: You used to date Steve Harrington until the Byers moved away and Nancy and Steve reconciled. Heartbroken you find love in the least likely person anyone would have imagined, however, Steve still holds on to feelings that he can’t seem to shake and deep down maybe y/n does too?
a/n: here is part 2 to my baby. (i literally put so much effort into this) of course it was already written, part 3 is underway and i will post it hopefully this weekend and it will include the reason behind why i use the gif for this story... so expect a lot of possible drama... of course taglist is always open so feel free to ask for a tag.

It had been two weeks since the infamous kiss between you and Steve, and Eddie still hadn’t talked to you.
You extended the olive branch by volunteering to be his partner in the weekly lab but coincidently he caught a flu bug until the week was over.
The Hellfire Club must have heard the story Eddie pieced together because even they started to give you the cold shoulder.
During lunch you sat alone at one of the tables by the trash containers when you felt three balls of paper hit your back. You turned to shoot the perpetrators a glare when you saw it was Eddie and the rest of the Hellfire Club grinning in amusement.
“oops.” Eddie’s friend burst into laughter.
You dumped your trey immediately and left the cafeteria to go find a dark corner to cry in.
The behavior was nothing like the Eddie you knew, the Eddie who asked permission first before holding your hand, the Eddie who gave you his leather jacket to wear during the class trip because it was cold and that was before you started to date. Most of all it wasn’t the actions of the Eddie whose eyes welled up in joy when you told him you loved him first.
That was probably why it hurt you more than you wanted it to.
As you headed to your usual hiding spot, the one you showed Eddie, the one where you two would sneak off to and make out under during chemistry, your foot kicked up a yellow flyer.
You picked it up off the floor and turned it over to read “Corroded Coffin TONIGHT! The Hideout” despite Eddie and his friends being the jerks you never knew them to be, you still wanted to support them.
After school, you went home and picked the most appropriate outfit for the night, and topped it all off with Eddie’s pick necklace.
You pressed it against your chest, and smiled, it was close to your heart like you promised him it would be.
At the venue you felt excited for the band, the entire place was packed, and since you didn’t have an I.D you had to sneak in through the back entrance where Eddie showed you.
You found a place nearest to the stage and looked around at the crowd, of course you knew it was packed only because a more well-known band was going to play last, but still they were all here to watch Eddie and the rest of the guys play.
As you looked at the faces of everyone, you spotted one that looked oddly out of place. It was Steve, still in his work vest you stifled your laugh.
As you were about to wave him over the lights went dim, and Eddie and the rest of the band entered the stage.
You Smiled brightly and settled into your spot, they started off with two songs of their own and then a cover of The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden.
The crowd although drunk all roared in cheers as Eddie smiled proudly at this moment, just then he spotted you in the crowd and his smile faded slowly.
You waved nervously and added a smile that matched the energy of the wave but twice as nervous.
Eddie stepped back up to the microphone and held his guitar by the neck. “before we play our last song, I wanted to play another cover for you.” the mic squealed in echos and feedback.
“This song is about people being having the power to be able to choose between good and evil.” Eddie announced into the microphone. “or right and wrong” Eddie looked at you.
The chords sounded familiar to you, it took you back into Eddie’s bedroom, where you were covered in his sheets, his arms were wrapped around you, his hands holding yours as he taught you this exact song.
“Sing me a song, you’re a singer.” he sang into the microphone.
You felt your stomach turn, the song although holding a sweet memory for you, also held the lyrics that you didn’t want to hear at this moment.
“do me a wrong, you’re a bringer of evil.” Eddie looked right where you were sitting, his eye contact not moving as he sang the rest of the lyrics “the devil is never a maker, the less that you give you’re a taker.”
You couldn’t stomach it any longer, leaving your chair you hurried out the door as fast as you could go.
Steve noticed Eddie focused on one side of the room as he sang his song, and looked to see you visibly upset. He grew concern as you turned and pushed through the crowd quickly, he immediately knew something was wrong.
Eddie would have lied to himself if he said he wasn't sorry for his actions. The truth was he wanted nothing more than to rush out the door behind you, to stop you and tell you he was sorry and he didn’t mean to do it.
As he continued his song he noticed Steve in the crowd, who also had his eyes on you, Eddie’s heart sank as he watched Steve shaking his head and walk out to comfort you first.
The band could see Eddie’s emotions take over as he played harder and with more anger.
“Hey, y/n” you heard Steve’s voice call out your name behind you. You ignored his call and continued down the sidewalk.
“y/n” Steve huffed as he jogged to catch up to you.
“What?” you sniffled and wiped a tear away from your cheek.
“I don’t really understand the lyrics, but from the way you ran out, I wanted say you don’t deserve that.” he shrugged.
“I know he is mad at me.” you sniffled and looked down at yours and Steve’s shoes. “but he didn’t have to look directly at me and call me a taker, or a bringer of evil.” your lip trembled.
“yeah, I don’t really know what that means, but I agree.” Steve crossed his arms.
“but he’s right.” you looked up at Steve, your eyes now puffy and full of tears. “I was an evil person for hurting him.” your voice choked out a sob.
“hey, that’s not true.” Steve wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close to his body. Your face dug into his shirt as you instinctively wrapped your arms around his waist.
Steve’s hand rubbed up and down your back as he rested his cheek on the crown of your head. “you’re not an evil person y/n, you never could be. You're more of an angel than a devil.” Steve chuckled nervously knowing he sounded cheesier than usual.
You let out a chuckle between your sniffles, “really?” you lifted your head and smiled at Steve.
“i know.” he admitted to his corny line. But proud he made you smile again.
“you always know how to make me smile even during my ugliest crying moments.” You rested your head back on his chest.
Steve stayed silent as he gently laid his cheek against your head again, his arms still wrapped around your body he was savoring this moment, it was a moment he hadn’t felt in a long while.
Eddie finished his set, and exited the building to have a cigarette and just be alone, something he “would have to get used to” as he said to himself the day he walked away from your relationship.
Eddie lit his cigarette and inhaled a long drag, he blew out the smoke and looked in the distance, his heart sinking as he spotted you in the arms of Steve Harrington, your arms held him tightly and your head was pressed against his heart.
Eddie dropped his cigarette down hard against the pavement and went back inside, hoping to steal a beer when the bartender wasn’t looking.
You pulled your arms away from Steve and took a step back, “thanks.” you cleared your throat nervously and looked away.
“no problem” Steve stepped back too, the moment now becoming an awkward one.
“how did Nancy take the news of our infidelity?” you asked.
“I-” Steve sighed. “have-not exactly told her.” he bit his teeth tightly.
Your sorrow was now replaced with instant anger. “WHAT?!” your eyebrows furrowed.
“I just haven’t found the right time.” Steve stammered.
“my relationship with Eddie was over the very next day after the fact” you pushed Steve as hard as you could.
“come on y/n” Steve attempted to diffuse the situation.
“come on what?! what Steve?” your eyes were now filled with tears of anger. “Eddie- Eddie” your voice started to crack, as your anger turned back into pain. “Eddie hates me now.” your heart broke again, “he HATES me” you emphasized. “my relationship is ruined, and you’re still in yours because of “the right time”?!” you shoved him again.
“is that thing with you Harrington? TIME?!” you stepped back, “the right time to leave me for Nancy, the right time to come over while Eddie is there and expose our mistake?! The right time to tell Nancy that you didn’t exactly have her in mind when your lips locked mine? The right time to come back into my life and RUIN EVERYTHING!!!”
Before you could stop yourself, you felt the palm of your hand make contact with Steve’s face. You stepped back and covered your mouth in shock and regret.
Steve’s hand cradled his face as he looked at you in surprise.
“Steve I-” you fumbled your words.
“you two kissed?” you heard a voice behind you. Steve looked up and his eyes widen, you turned and faced Nancy who was standing behind the both of you, pain in her eyes but disgust on her face.
“Nance-it was a mistake” Steve spoke in an attempt to comfort her, only to be met with another slap to the other side of his face.
Nancy’s focus darted to you, her eyes searing with anger. You stood in silence awaiting your well-earned slap to the face next.
Nancy stepped towards you, you closed your eyes and slightly pulled your face away to lessen the impact.
“have him.” Nancy hissed as she passed you and disappeared into the dim lights of the streets.
Steve looked at you, his eyes telling two stories of relief, and of regret. He shook his head and turned to walk away, “well, now you got what you wanted, she knows.” he remarked bitterly.
You inhaled a deep breath, and composed yourself, “good, because now you know how it feels.” you shot back.
Steve scoffed and walked in the opposite direction of Nancy, as you watched him walk away, you felt the regret wash over you.
“Steve.” you called out his name. He stopped and turned back to you.
“my mom is on another health kick.” you extended your metaphorical olive branch, “do you want to eat your feelings away with me?”
Steve looked down and back up at you, a halfhearted smile tugged at his lip.
You walked towards him, your fingers tugging at your clothes and a queasy feeling filled your tummy.
You returned his halfhearted smile with one of your own. The both of you walked down the street in silence until you reached home.
Both you and Steve sat on the floor in your room, a mountain of junk food piled by our knees.
“have you tried these chocolate covered vanilla pudding pies?” Steve exhaled after biting his hostess snack.
“yeah, I pigged out on them the day after Eddie and I broke up.” you sighed and shoved some Pizza rolls in your mouth.
“don’t tell anyone but I eat one before going to bed every night” he smiled, making you smile wider.
“that’s quite the confession Mr. Harrington” you blushed.
“now you confess something to me.” Steve opened his can of Slice soda and took a sip
“i don’t have anything juicy enough that you don’t already know.” you replied with a smirk.
“oh come on.” Steve protested. “i confessed something now you.” he groaned playfully.
“fine.” you gave in.
“I-” you sighed “I didn’t mean it when I said I was happy Nancy slapped you” you looked at Steve.
Steve looked down at the pile of snacks and back at you, “i know.” he replied. “you’re not that kind of person.” he added with a smile.
“but you did deserve it” you added.
“i know, but both of you?” he chuckled.
“well, maybe not from me.” you frowned.
“no, I meant I deserved both slaps, just not on the same night.” he smiled widely.
“I’m sorry.” you cupped his face softly where hours ago you slapped in anger. The pad of your thumb gently caressed his face and your lips tighten into a smile.
Steve looked into your eyes, and then his focus went to your neck, where he saw the pick necklace that started this all.
“you still wear it?” you lifted the pick with his fingers.
You looked down and closed the pick in your fist. “it’s stupid huh?” you twisted the pick in between your fingers.
“I guess, I figured if I wore it and Eddie seen me with it on, he would just-” you trailed off. “but I really think is over. Like forever.” you frowned.
“then don’t you think you should give it back?” Steve suggested.
“I guess, I didn’t want to, because I know if and when I give it back, it means what I think is real...will actually become real.” you felt a tear roll down your cheek.
“but you’re right.” you wiped the tear away, “if it’s really over, and he is going to be stooping as low as he is, then-” your finger tugged at the hook on the back of your neck but you couldn’t get a grip on the clasp.
“here, let me” Steve’s arms looped around your neck, you pulled your hair to the side and in less than a second the weight of the chain lifted from your collarbone.
Steve pulled the necklace off and dangled it in front of you. You opened your hand in a cup and felt the chain fall into your palm.
“thanks” your voice whispered.
You looked at Steve, his gaze looked deep into yours.
Almost like someone hit the repeat button, you fell forward, your lips touching his in a forced and passionate crash.
Your arms wrapped around his neck, as his rested on your hips. Steve sat straight and leaned into the end bed frame. You crawled into his lap, unhooking your kiss for a quick breath of air before pressing them together again.
Steve’s hands slide up your back, pulling your closer. You broke the kiss again and Steve started to pepper small kisses onto your neck, you turned your head to see your reflection on the closet mirror, only it wasn’t Steve you were sitting on top of, but with the black sleeved baseball tee, the ripped jeans, and the curly dark brown hair, it wasn’t hard to figure out who you wanted it to be, you gasped and quickly jumped off Steve’s lap.
“what’s wrong?” Steve looked around trying to see if maybe your mom and dad were home after their long night of drinks at the annual Harrington cocktail party.
“I-” you stammered. “I just don’t think this is a smart thing to do” you lied. “i mean we both just got out of serious relationships.”
“you’re probably right.” Steve agreed “I better get home.” he stood up.
You walked Steve to the front door, and leaned your face against the frame as he stood on the front porch.
“good night.” he finally managed to speak.
“night” you smiled weakly.
As you were about to close the door Steve called your name again, you stopped and opened it a little wide again.
“when you’re ready, and you no longer feel you need to hold on to that hope,” he gestured to your hand. “let me know, you know where to find me.” he waved.
You closed the door and locked the bottom lock; you walked back to your room and closed the door. You exhaled a shaky breath and unclenched your fist, revealing the pick necklace Eddie gave you.
You looked at your reflection in the mirror, and back at the pick.
In a quick second you went to the closet and grabbed your jacket, shoving the necklace into the front pocket you made your way out the door.
You trudged through the woods behind the Harrington house, hearing the party inside still going strong. You cut through a familiar path and where the paved road turned to pot holes and dirt you knew you made it.
Like you were on a mission you approached the Munson’s trailer and knocked the door, finally the nerves set in, you were really doing this.
“shit” you cursed and turned in hopes to get away quickly but the door opened and standing before you was Eddie.
“y/n?” he looked at you and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “what are you doing here? It's almost midnight?” he looked around to see if anyone followed you or if you were in any kind of danger.
“I-” you fumbled your choice of words. “I wanted-” You closed your eyes and inhaled a deep breath, “I wanted to say, the Eddie Munson that you have been showing me that past two weeks, really opened my eyes.” you looked at him with a straight face, “you showed me the REAL Eddie Munson” you exhaled a deep breath.
“I told Hellfire-” “no” you cut him off. “you listen to me, when I say, I didn’t believe everyone when they said you weren’t a good person” you held yourself together trying not to cry. “but they were right.” you looked at Eddie’s face, it expressed genuine hurt.
“you’re not a good person Eddie Munson” you gulped, “which is why, I-” you stopped and closed your eyes. You grabbed Eddie’s hands and enclosed them in yours. “which is why, I can’t hold on to hope.” your eyes welled, “hope that we will go back to what we had before, because from what you showed me...it will never be back.” you dropped Eddie’s hands and stepped away.
“Good Bye Eddie Munson” you swallowed a dry lump in your throat “forever.” you turned and walked away, to hide the tears from Eddie.
Eddie opened his hands to reveal the pick necklace, he looked back up and stepped off the porch, but you were already crossing the road into the woods.
Eddie held the necklace in his fingers and placed his fingertips against his lips to think over the past few days, trying to figure out what went wrong, and if it could be fixed, he inhaled a deep breath and caught a quick but faint whiff of your perfume, the one that still lingered on his pillow, that he held onto tightly every night, wishing was the real thing, and not just the memory of the real thing.

Either trans Eddie or Steve, making the other kneel in front of the couch with their mouth wide open. Whoever you pick to have a pussy just going crazy rubbing their g spot and pulling their dick so they just keep DRENCHING the other with their squirt.
oh i love this one !! thank you for submitting it 🥰 hope you enjoy the read :)
this ficlet includes: mommy steve, transmasc steve (cock, dick, pussy, clit used interchangeably), pet play, desperate af puppy!eddie, masturbation, overstimulation, degradation, cock caging, orgasm denial
eddie hates when steve rides one of his many dildos instead of him.
hates it because that should be him making steve’s pussy creamy with arousal.
that should be him stretching steve’s hole open while stroking his perfect swollen dick between two aptly applied fingers
that should be him flicking steve’s overly sensitive nipples with the cool kiss of his new tongue piercing.
but eddie’s in trouble today.
eddie’s in big trouble so he’s been demoted to kneeling on the loveless floor.
bruises forming on his knees as he gazes up at his love in all his horny glory. forbidden to touch.
steve’s perched on the couch.
he’s thrusting a lavender colored dildo in and out of his pretty pink pussy. legs spread wide to take the toy deeper—it doesn’t help that it’s exactly the position he would be in if eddie was fucking him stupid on his cock.
and eddie’s so far gone into the hazy land of subspace that he doesn’t even realize how loudly he’s whining until steve yanks on the studded leash he’s holding in his free hand.
‘quiet puppy. mommy’s doing something important. you don’t want to distract mommy do you?’ steve’s tone is patronizing and that only makes everything worse for eddie.
he wags his ass back and forth where he’s seated on the floor.
arches his back to show off the fluffy black tail plug steve bought for his birthday last week. there’s a set of matching ears attached to his curls.
‘sorry mommy. i’ll do better mommy. didn’t mean to distract you.’
steve pounds his pussy harder with the silicone and the resulting squelch is enough to make eddie drool. a line of saliva drips down onto his trapped dick and the sensation makes him shake.
‘aw pup. you’re so cock dumb for me and i haven’t even touched you. are you jealous, baby?’ steve condescends and eddie watches through eyes green with envy as steve clenches up around his toy and moans delightedly, ‘so sad you’re gonna miss the opportunity to breed mommy today but that’s what happens when you misbehave and cum without mommy’s permission. you don’t get to fill up mommy’s belly today.’
eddie squirms, feels the cage grow tighter around his purpling erection. his tail brushes against the back of his balls and he practically falls over. ‘wanna suck mommy’s cock,’ eddie tests his luck by crawling closer to steve on the couch, ‘wanna be a good puppy and let mommy squirt down my throat.’
steve perks up at that and looks deep in thought as he removes the dripping dildo and rubs it through his well slicked folds. his cock jumps in pleasure as he taps the toy onto it and shivers indulgently. slick fluid seeps from his overused hole and his pussy is so fucking puffy it physically pains eddie to not have his face buried in it.
‘you wanna suck me off, baby boy?’ steve asks sweetly and if eddie had a single coherent thought left in his mind, he might recognize the glint of mischief in steve’s honey brown eyes.
‘yes, mommy. more than anything.’
‘close your eyes for me, then. i’ll guide you to my cock, sweet thing,’ steve coos, bending forward to stroke eddie’s jaw.
without thinking for a second, eddie complies and parts his lips anticipating steve’s sweet drenched cock on his tongue.
but of course that’s not what happens.
eddie feels something heavy push past his bitten lips and it’s confusing because his taste buds receive the ambrosial taste of steve’s cum but his mouth is far too full and obstructed to be actually taking steve’s cock.
he gags. chokes. slurps around the slippery silicone and whimpers pathetically because that’s not what he wanted.
‘open your eyes and look at me,’ steve orders and when eddie does blink them open he pays witness to steve harrington experiencing pure ecstasy.
steve is jamming the dildo down eddie’s throat. fucking his fist into eddie’s mouth along with it. and between his soaked thighs are his fingers. rapidly jerking his throbbing dick and bucking his hips to meet his hand.
‘ohh there’s mommy’s boy. there he is. needy little slut—you’ll take anything mommy gives you as long as it tastes like mommy’s pussy. dumb puppy can’t tell the difference.’eddie does his best to nod around the bulge in his throat.
‘i’m gonna let you breathe but i want you to keep your tongue out for me. can you do that, puppy?’ steve takes the dildo out of eddie’s mouth and tosses it to the side.
eddie gasps for air. sucks in as much oxygen as he lungs will allow and obediently holds out his tongue as steve’s requested knowing he’s about to get rewarded. he feels giddy. he giggles and wags excitedly despite the ache of his untouched dick.
stripping his cock, steve’s legs tremble and eddie feels his collar tighten up around his neck as steve uses it to hold on through the pleasurable shock of orgasm.
‘fuck, baby. you look so pathetic like that. g-gonna squirt all over your pouty little face,’ steve groans as he cums—drenching eddie’s awaiting tongue in filthy release.
‘now get up here and clean me up puppy.’
and a few minutes later, eddie makes steve cum again just like that. feeling like the luckiest puppy in the world.

October 1989
“Oh, honey, come here.” Robin pulls you into a tight hug, letting you sob and snot into her shoulder. It’s three in the morning, and you’ve been drinking yourself into a stupor. You left Eddie a week ago, and haven’t been able to breathe right since. Seeing the video for The Crawl on MTV this morning sent you into a dizzying depression, remembering the days when Eddie would sit at the kitchen table trying to put the chords together. You wished you were with him, on tour, greeting him with kisses after every set. But he left for tour yesterday without telling you, and you only found out when Dustin asked why you weren’t with him. You hadn’t had the heart to tell him you’d broken up with him, so Steve had to break the news.
“I just don’t get it. Why didn’t he try harder? Why didn’t he fight for us?” You weep into the fabric of Robin’s shirt as she rubs your back in soothing circles.
“I don’t know, love, but he’s a fucking idiot.”
Present day
Your POV
Your issue of SPIN comes out today, and your heart is slamming in your chest in line to check out. In your hands is a copy of the magazine, a picture of Corroded Coffin plastered across the cover. Eddie’s eyes seem to glare even from the glossy paper, his arms crossed over his bare chest while the rest of his bandmates stand behind him, looking equally stoic. In the top corner of the page reads, Femme Punk Takeover: An Interview with Death Dance Approximately. You read the words over and over, refusing to spoil the spread for yourself until you’re alone and safe to scream with your friends about it.
Once you exit the store, magazine clutched in your hand, you speed walk back to the hotel you’re staying in. Today is your off day, but tomorrow you play a show on the one and only Las Vegas Strip. Your plans include celebrating the magazine spread by drinking yourselves silly.
Back in your hotel room, you kick your shoes off and fling yourself onto the bed. Robin’s out shopping with Steve, and Sylvie and Lilith are getting lunch, so you have the afternoon to yourself. Instead of diving right into your own spread, you curiously turn the pages until you find the Corroded Coffin interview. It spans four full pages, including photographs and quotes in bold, big lettering. You swear to yourself you’ll only skim, but that promise is quickly broken when you read the first sentence.
Kings of Rock, Corroded Coffin, sit uncomfortably in their folding director-esque chairs, as if sitting for an interview is the least punk thing they could be doing. Their frontman fidgets with his gleaming silver rings, his lips pressed together in concentration or annoyance.
Jessie Stevens: So, on your new album Freak Show, there’s a song titled Sweetheart. It’s far different from the rest of the tracks, a calming break before the climax of Severed Thumb and Wiped Clean. What influenced this mood change?
Eddie Munson: Sweetheart is about someone that was once very close to me. It’s about love and loss, and a whole shit ton of heartbreak, and the one person that never made me feel like, the freak, y’know?
J: Do you still talk to this person?
The frontman’s face falls a little, like he’s reminded of something upsetting.
E: It’s… complicated.
You roll your eyes. It’s not complicated, the answer is a firm no. You and Eddie don’t talk, not more than you’re forced to. You continue scanning the article, until you find something else that catches your eye.
J: You’re currently touring with Death Dance Approximately, who are quickly moving up in the world of rock. What advice would you give them as seasoned rockstars?
Munson pauses, looking at his bandmates with a question in his eyes.
E: I guess I’d tell them never to let go of themselves. I lost myself for a while, honestly I’m still pretty lost. The industry is brutal, it takes so much of your soul away from you, and if I could go back and tell myself one thing, it would be not to let go of who I was. I miss that person.
You read Eddie’s answer, over and over, your eyes stinging. You miss who Eddie was, before signing, before giving in to fame and attention the way he has. Desperately, you want to believe that sweet boy is still in there somewhere. You think he is, after the events of last night, but you’re not sure how to yank him out of the steel shell he’s built around himself.
Further down, one more thing catches your attention.
J: Do you wish you’d done anything differently? Whether it be in your career, or in your life outside of it?
E: I wish I fought harder for my people. I lost someone I loved so much. I let them walk out of my life without any objection. I wish so badly that I could’ve made them stay, but… It was too late. I’ll never know now. I’ll never get to fix it.
Munson’s bandmates look to each other knowingly, clearly aware that the mysterious person he speaks of is the reason for his sour mood.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” It’s barely a whisper, despite no one being in the room with you. All he had to do was ask, and you’d tell him everything. Why you left, what would’ve made you stay, but he’d rather tell the whole world he fucked up than just apologize to you.
Eddie’s POV
His copy of SPIN lay open in his lap as he reads the Death Dance interview. His bandmates are god knows where, enjoying their day off while Eddie mopes in his hotel room.
J: How do you guys feel about touring with one of the biggest names in rock?
Eddie rolls his eyes at the question, knowing you probably hated hearing his band brought up in your interview.
Y: I mean, we knew them growing up. It’s really cool to see them all again, and we’re honored to tour with them.
Eddie’s surprised you’d even mention knowing him at this point, it makes his heart beat a little faster.
J: You know Corroded Coffin?
Y: Yeah! I moved to Hawkins my senior year, where I met Robin, and they were all seniors. We played DnD together, made music together. We lost touch after high school, but the world is so small.
J: Is that what Indiana is about?
Y: In some respects, yeah. Indiana was a huge change from where I grew up in Boston, a much smaller, more conservative place for sure.
Eddie puts the magazine down, and reaches for his CD player. He skips to track 5, and closes his eyes as the guitars wail in his ears. He only knows parts of the song, from hearing it live when he can stomach watching your set, but somehow it feels like listening for the first time.
I’m from a city where no one knows each other / where we walk down streets avoiding eyes and shoving by / and when I moved to Indiana, I began to understand why / I wasn’t meant for smaller towns, where everyone knows my name, / but you had been there, my saving grace, / and now I miss the comfort. / I miss the sounds of singing birds, and the crackle of a fire. / I moved back to the city, and though it’s pretty, / it’s no longer what I know. / Indiana wasn’t home, but I found my home there / In the warmth of your eyes and the smell of your hair / I let myself believe I could make my life here / and when I lost you, I lost everything. / Indiana wasn’t home, but I found my home there. Indiana wasn’t home, and I lost my home there.
He plays the song four times before he can bring himself to breathe right again. Eddie can hear your heart breaking through your voice, the way it cracks on the chorus, the way you belt the final verse. All at once, he understands why you left, why you felt you had no choice. He was drowning in the pressure of being famous, leaving you behind to watch him from the shadows.
Your POV
You finally throw the magazine down, and rush to shower and get ready to go out. Tonight is your night off, a night to relax and not think about the boy across the hall. It’s easier said than done, though, as your mind keeps wandering to that final paragraph. I’ll never know now. I’ll never get to fix it. All he had to do was ask. You’d tell him everything; why you left, what could have gotten you to stay. But he’s been so cold, so distant with you, and you can’t really blame him. It’s just as difficult for you to be on tour with him, but you’re still trying to be mature about it.
Your spiral is disturbed by a knock on your door. You clip your earrings in and rush to answer it, smoothing your shirt to make sure you’re presentable. You open the door to Robin and Steve, their arms linked together like best friends on the playground. Both of them are dressed up, Steve in a button down and black slacks, Robin in sequined overalls that scream Vegas! They greet you with gleaming smiles, and you move aside to let them in.
“I’m almost ready! Any idea where we’re going?” You ask them both before pulling your lipstick out of your bag.
“We’re taking the strip by storm! It’s a group outing, everyone’s coming!” Robin claps her hands together
“Everyone?” You quirk an eyebrow, looking at her in the mirror.
She bites her lip and glances at Steve, who only shrugs. “Yeah, Gareth and Jeff overheard us planning, and we figured some bonding was in order. But don’t worry! We can separate when we get there.”
You smack your lips together and shrug. “It’s not me you have to worry about.” You turn to face them, extending your arms to present your glammed up self. “How do I look?”
“Like you’re gonna rip Eddie’s soul out of his bod— Ow!” Steve rubs where Robin has elbowed his arm. “You look beautiful.” He recovers, and you stick your tongue out at him.
“Let’s get goin’ then!” Robin heaves herself off the bed, and you hold the door for her and Steve, following them out the door.
The casinos are the most insane thing you’ve ever experienced. The bright lights almost blind you, and the sounds of slot machines are so loud you can’t hear yourself think. It’s no wonder no one wins these things, it’s impossible to concentrate.
“C’mon!” Sylvie grabs hold of your wrist, leading you and your bandmates to the blackjack table. You glance behind you, sending a help me look to Steve, who shrugs in defeat as he follows Eddie and Jeff to the bar.
“Robin, I don’t know how to play!” You object, but she’s already sitting in a free stool by the dealer.
“No worries, babe, this is all on me. I just want you all to watch me win!” She’s buzzed, having gulped her champagne down in the car on the way here. You giggle at her confidence, knowing damn well she also has no idea how to gamble.
“Whatever you do, don’t bet our royalties.” Lilith nudges her, hiccuping on her own bubbly.
“Yeah, yeah. Hit me!” She slaps the table, and the dealer smirks like he knows he’s about to watch Robin lose all of her disposable income.
Eddie’s POV
“Whiskey, neat.” He orders his drink, flopping down on an empty stool. Steve sits next to him, while Jeff orders drinks for himself and Gareth. “Come hang out, man!” Jeff calls when he receives his drinks, already walking to the table his bandmates sit at with yours. Eddie nods a response, nursing his drink.
“You gotta at least try to enjoy yourself tonight.” Steve says, taking a sip of what looks like fruit punch.
“I am enjoying myself, Steven” Eddie holds up his whiskey, as if to prove the point. Steve glares at him, and Eddie takes a swig. “What?”
“You’re moping! You’re a famous rockstar on a cross country tour, and you’re moping. Had I known you were gonna be a drama queen this whole time I would’ve brought a goddamn book to read.”
Eddie groans, taking another sip. “I know, I know. I’m miserable.”
“You need to talk to them.” Steve says bluntly, not looking at Eddie.
“Why would I do that?”
“I know you want to.”
“I do not!”
Steve snorts, and Eddie presses his lips together in annoyance. “You read that interview, right?” Eddie nods. “So you know they talk about you now. You’re on their mind. You listen to the song they mentioned?” He nods again. “So you still care about what they have to say. What’s stopping you? Why are you so fucking scared?”
Eddie turns in his chair, back to where your band sits at the table, anxiously watching as Robin plays another round. Your face is pink, caused by the alcohol or the warmth of the building. Your shirt hugs your frame tightly, accentuating your features. You lift a glass of champagne to your lips, pinky extended, leaving a smear of red lipstick on the rim of the glass. Your eyes sparkle with excitement as your friends cheer Robin on. You have a happy glow to you, and it takes everything inside of Eddie to rip his eyes away. “Whats stopping me is the fact that they deserve better.” Eddie grumbles, gulping the rest of his liquor down and calling the bartender over. “I don’t want to ruin this for them. I’m already here, and that can’t be easy. I want them to enjoy this experience, I don’t want to intrude on it.”
“So, what, you’re just gonna drink yourself to death every time we have an outing? You think that isn’t causing them any distress? Your liver is gonna deteriorate soon, man. May wanna figure out a different strategy.”
“Will you get off my ass about drinking, Harrington? It’s rich, coming from the kid that shotgunned like sixty beers a week his freshman year of high school.”
Steve chuckles, and Eddie can’t hide the grin creeping onto his face. “Fair enough. But that was high school. I didn’t have a billion fans relying on me not to die of alcohol poisoning.”
“Nah, just the six hundred Hawkins High students. Big whoop!” Eddie emphasizes his point with a show of jazz hands. “Either way. If I’m gonna talk to them, I’m gonna be drunk when I do it.” Eddie gulps down his second drink in one go, feeling the effects of the alcohol starting to kick in.
“Whatever, dude. You wanna go play some cards?” Steve offers his hand, and Eddie takes it begrudgingly, yanking himself away from the bar and into the mass of the crowded casino. He’s forced to squeeze by you, apologizing under his breath as he brushes against your back, sidestepping between the tables. You don’t seem to notice. He takes his place next to Gareth, and Steve stands firmly between him and you, a bridge neither of you dare to cross. Eddie feels your eyes on him, and it takes everything inside of him not to look back. Instead, he’s dealt into the next hand, planning only to play one round as a distraction from your presence. The waiter drops off another round of drinks, and Eddie slaps his palm on the table. “Deal me in.”
“Okay, that’s enough!” Steve yanks on an objecting Eddie’s arm, hauling him away from the table. He’s already lost a good chunk of change, both at the table and to the expensive drinks he’s been gulping down. Despite his objections, Steve manages to drag Eddie out of the casino unscathed.
“Here,” Steve sticks a cigarette between Eddie’s lips and lights it for him. “Sober up a little.”
Eddie plucks the lit stick from his mouth and exhales, the cool night air bathing his warm face.
“Where,” Eddie’s eyes are glassy, his vision blurring as he takes in his surroundings.
“We’re outside the casino. Waiting for the car.” Steve lights a cigarette for himself, inhaling as Eddie does the same.
“Where’s Y/n?” He realizes suddenly that he hasn’t seen you in hours.
“Back at the hotel. They left a while ago, but you didn’t want to get up. Sometime around your fourth hand, when you accused the dealer of cheating.” Eddie looks down at his feet, seeing four of them, and hums in response. “They told me to make sure I get you home safe.”
He looks back up to his friend, cautiously optimistic. “They said that?”
Steve nods, a smirk on his face. “Told me they’d kick my ass if anything happened to you. So I’m keeping my promise.” The car pulls up, and Steve opens the door for Eddie. “C’mon, in ya go.”
Eddie lets his eyes slip closed as the car starts moving, promising himself he won’t throw up on Steve. He thinks of all the ways he could possibly tell you he’s sorry, how he could start to mend the wounds he’s caused you. He’s going to, he decides, as soon as he can manage to walk on his own.
Your POV
There’s a banging on your hotel room as you’re clawing your way out of your clothes. You pull your big t-shirt on, pause Breaking The Girl, and rush to answer it. You’re expecting room service with some wine, or Steve with tomorrow’s game plan. “Coming!” You call, finally opening the door, only to be greeted by Eddie’s wobbly figure. “Oh. Hi.” You look at his nose as you speak, afraid of what would happen if your eyes were to meet his. His face is flushed from the drinking, his eyes glazed over and his hair frizzy.
“Hi. Bad time?” He looks you up and down, causing your cheeks to warm despite your blood running cold. You realize now that the shirt you’re wearing is one that once belonged to him. “I’ll, uh, go. I can um… I’ll come back later.” His speech is slurring, and you can smell the alcohol as he speaks.
“No!” You say, too quickly. “It’s okay, I’m just getting ready for bed. You wanna come in?”
Eddie hesitates, but you step aside to let him enter. He stumbles forward, placing himself gingerly in the chair across from the bed, where you sit across from him, acutely aware of your current pantsless state. “I read the interview.” Eddie starts, looking at the floor. You cross one leg over the other, waiting for him to continue. “And I’ve been listening to the album. Your album, I mean. It’s great, by the way, really fucking great.” He won’t look at you, instead focused on fiddling with his rings. You don’t respond, unsure where he’s going. “I came to say I’m sorry.”
Your eyes widen. This was the furthest thing from what you were expecting. “For what?”
Eddie slides further into the chair. “Everything. I’ve been such an asshole since the tour started. Especially to you. I wanna say I didn’t mean it, but I did. I wanted to hurt you. Flirting with all those girls, playing that fuckin’ song in front of you. I meant all of it.”
You bite your lip, unsure of how to respond. You doubt Eddie will even remember this conversation tomorrow, so you refuse to let his words convince you of anything. You don’t answer, just blink at him as he continues searching for the words to explain himself.
“I was trying to ignore it, I guess. How I felt about seeing you again. I was hiding it, and probably really poorly. I can't imagine it’s been easy for you, either, but you seem so happy. And it’s made me realize how horrible I’ve been.” He looks up from the floor then, his eyes searching yours for an answer. His face is flushed, his hair disheveled, and his lips are set in the pout that always got your heart stalling.
You clear your throat quickly, knowing it will crack under the pressure otherwise. “Eddie, it’s not your fault. You didn’t force this tour to happen. It’s an unfortunate coincidence.” He winces at your words, and you rush to correct yourself. “I mean, we didn’t know we’d see each other like this. We weren’t prepared. The way you’ve been acting, though hurtful, is completely understandable.” You want to cry. You want to throw Eddie out of your hotel room so you can sob into your pillow. But you don’t move, and neither does he.
“Why’d you leave?” He asks after a long moment of silence. “What happened to us?”
You know he’s drunk, and you shouldn’t be indulging him, but you’ve wanted to say so much to him since breaking it off, and you’re still a bit tipsy. “I was losing you. To groupies, to the label, to whatever you had become, and I didn’t think it was fair to fight it. This is all you’ve ever wanted, all we ever talked about when we were together. And you got it! The only thing you ever wanted. And I am beyond proud of you, Eddie. Who was I to pull you away from it? I couldn’t hold you back from this, but I couldn’t live in the background either. I couldn’t make you choose between me and your dream, so I chose for you.” Your voice falters as you explain, eyes threatening to spill the tears they harbor. “You deserve everything you ever want, Ed. I truly believe that.” You don’t tell him you still wish he wanted you.
Eddie is less than graceful in his response. “I would’ve chosen you. Over and over again, Y/n. I wish I hadn’t made you feel like you were my backup, my plan B. I lost sight of us, I know that now.” You sigh, your heart breaking as he speaks. Years ago, it’s all you wanted to hear. But it’s too little, too late now. “It got to my head, having you and getting signed. I felt like I could have it all. It got overwhelming, and I didn’t realize what I was doing to you. You were right to leave, and I’m so sorry it took me this long to figure it out. I blamed you for my misery when I caused all of it myself.”
You get up from the bed, and approach Eddie, kneeling beside the chair so he’s forced to look at you. “I appreciate the apology, Ed. I know you mean it. But I needed to leave for my own sake, too. I couldn’t keep competing with you, with all of the attention you were getting. I needed to focus on my own dreams, and I couldn’t convince you to root for me the way I had for you. Now that I’m here, I’m glad it happened this way. I wouldn’t have gotten here any other way.” You rest your hand on his knee, and you feel a drop fall from his cheek onto your finger. “You’ll always be special to me. I need you to know that.”
Eddie nods, sniffling. You stand up and offer him your hand. He takes it hesitantly, and you feel the familiarity of his calloused fingers entwined with yours. You can’t bring yourself to let go as he gets to his feet, missing the way his skin feels on yours. “Let’s get you back to bed, yeah?” You lead him out of your room and down the hall. “You got your key?”
Eddie clumsily pats his many pockets before finding his key card in his vest. He swipes it, and you pull him into the messy room, the bed unmade, empty beer bottles lining the nightstand and entertainment center. Eddie collapses onto the bed, and you get to work yanking his shoes off the way you used to after a long night out. He’s still in his jeans, but you don’t make a move to take them off. He’s not yours to take care of anymore, and if he wakes up uncomfortable, it’s not your problem. “Okay. Goodnight, Eddie.” You’re about to leave when you hear him whisper something. “What was that?” You don’t want to believe what you think you heard, but he says it again, clearer this time. “I’d still choose you.” You press your lips together, stifling your sobs as you close the door behind you. You can’t bring yourself to believe him.

Feelings?
Based on this request!
Paring: Eddie Munson x gn! Reader
Summary: You and Eddie both have feelings for each other and you need to talk about it with some friends; but Vecna gets in the way.
A/N: This is my first piece back after a huge depressive episode. Be kind; but constructive criticism is always appreciated! This is my work and I don’t give anyone permission to use it for any reason. Please don’t claim it for yourself.
TW: Talk about the bats incident. Not too graphic but it’s still there. Eddie almost dying. Just be mindful going in. Mental health first babes!!
Hawkins, Indiana. A town that to the outside world, and most of its own population; was painstakingly normal. A small group of kids and a few adults saw it in a different light though; and slowly that small circle grew. That’s how you ended up here, in a twisted version of the town you’d only moved to 6 months prior. Mentally you smacked yourself for not making ‘normal’ friends; but you really did like the group. The murderous creatures in the Upside Down you didn’t like nearly as much. Thankfully, this should be the last run through the demon layout; and you walked quietly with Nancy and Robin, preparing for the final assault on Vecna.
“Do…you think he feels that way about me?”
Nancy chuckled and Robin made a “duh” noise. The three of you had been talking about your best friend, Eddie Munson. You’d asked the two why he’d gotten so…weird around you. Granted, being accused of murder can put someone on edge so you wanted to be sure you weren’t overthinking. Robin brought up Eddie maybe having a crush and you hadn’t ever entertained the idea; but it made you smile. You had fallen for him a few months ago and it just got worse and worse and worse as you delved into DND and spent more time with him.
“Dude, he’s definitely in to you. “ Robin smiled. She knew you liked him.
“…maybe we will talk when this is all over.” You smiled back and Nancy sighed as you all reached the trailer.
“Good. But for now, we meet up with everyone and then finish this for good.”
—————————————————
“Wait is THAT what that means???”
Eddie groaned and ran his hands through his curly hair. Steve chuckled and let out a sad sigh.
“Yeah man. You’ve got it bad for them. I know the feeling.”
The metal head glanced at pretty boy Harrington. He’d felt bad for the former king of Hawkins high. Steve cared about everyone in the group so much, including you, and he just watched everyone his age pair up. Steve didn’t have feelings for you; but it was another of his friends who was going to couple up.
Eddie mumbled something to himself.
“What was that?” Harrington asked him to clarify.
“I…don’t really have crushes on people, or at least people who know I exist. I… what do I do? How do I ask them out or tell them that I’ve been in love with them since the first DND session? Usually I just like someone from a distance and wait until the feelings go away.”
“Just be honest with them man. I think they feel the same way dude…but we have bigger fish to fry right now.”
The trailer came into view. Both guys could see the three of you go inside. They were the last to arrive. It was time.
—————————————————
“No. No. No. No. No.”
Hot tears streamed down your face as you sprinted toward the mass of bats that descended on your favorite person.
“Eddie!!!”
You screamed out. Firing your gun and swinging your shield around you pushed though the bats, forcing your body to get to Eddie; but the moment you got there El had finished Vecna. The upside down began to crumble. Eddie was choking on his blood as you collapsed at his side.
“Eddie. You did it. You saved us. You gotta stay with me. Come on babe. Stay with me.”
Eddie smiled up at you, his beaten face seemed to relax.
“Babe. I- like w-when you c-c-call me that.”
He coughed and started to close his eyes. This wasn’t going to happen on your watch. Ignoring the pain in your legs and body, you dragged him to the trailer. Dustin was freaking out but you calmed him down enough to make a pulley system. You were getting Eddie to a hospital, he wasn’t going to die on you.
“Eddy, babe, stay with me. We’re almost there. I need you to stay with me. You…you can’t leave me.”
Fresh tears began to flow as Billy raced you to the hospital. He was quiet, and you said a quiet thank you. He knew what Eddie was going through, he’d been in Eddie’s shoes a few months ago; and he made it out. Eddie will too.
“You’re gonna make it.”
You kissed his slowly greying forehead.
—————————————————
Three months. Three months of daily hospital visits, horrible cafeteria food and sleepless nights. Three months of crying, waking nightmares and your friends not being able to comfort you because everyone was waiting to know if Eddie Munson was alive or dead.
Three months that felt like three years, but it was all worth it when you heard him take a breath.
“Eddie!!”
Jumping up from the couch in the corner, your dropped the DND dungeon master book and ran to his side.
“Y/N? Is that really you?”
He coarsely coughed out. You pressed the button for a nurse 1,000 times.
“I’m here Eddie. I’m here.”
“God you look like an angel.”
You chuckled through tears, there was no doubt your skin was pale from lack of food and sleep. The red puffy part under your eyes was getting more and more irritated by the day; but he still thought you looked good.
“You should be talking. You look like God himself.”
“Herself.” He smirked. His hand reached up to your face as he just took in what was going on.
“I’m Alive?”
You nodded and closed your eyes, leaning into his hand.
“Dustin and I got you out. Billy got us to the hospital pretty fast. It was touch and go for three months, but you woke up. You’re here. You’re safe.”
He was quiet for a while. You had to leave while the nurses and doctors came in to asses him. Pacing outside you had called everyone from the front desk to let them know what was going on. Finally, the doctor came up and told you everything. He was going to have major scarring, and he’d need physically therapy but he would live. You had permission to go back in, and you told him everyone would be there shortly.
“Before they come in, I want to tell you something.”
You got a little uneasy, but you didn’t know what tomorrow would hold. Gathering your courage, you spoke.
“I…like you. Like, more than a friend. I wasn’t going to say anything but…I thought I lost you. I just wanted you to know. I…can’t keep going without you knowing.”
Eddie mustered a small blush. He smiled and took your hand in his.
“Can I kiss you?”
“You want to?” You coyly asked.
“Of course, Y/N. I was going to tell you I fell for you too…but bats.”
“Damn bats.” You chuckled softly. Leaning in, the kiss was sublime. Not gross or aggressive, but warm. It was interrupted by Dustin clapping.
He was going to be okay, and you’d be there the whole time to help him.
That’s all! This one is a little short and a little less descriptive than normal. I’m trying to get back into the flow. I might open up to different fandoms here soon. Thank you all. Sending love!!

r i n g s + he’s a bit of a fixer upper? :DD
lex, my love 💕thank you for asking about these ones, i am very excited about these two.
for r i n g s — this one is actually the pwp i've been working on and have shared a teeny tiny bit of here already. here is a lil snip from a piece i just wrote for it the other day:
He starts to retreat, and even though Steve should be thrilled — to be left alone, to be given some privacy to either finish or wallow in his embarrassment — something in his head screams at him to not let Eddie go just yet.
Before he can even comprehend what he’s doing, or why, his hands fly out towards Eddie, and he calls out, “Wait!”
Eddie stops in his tracks. Hovers on the threshold and turns back towards Steve with both eyebrows raised, a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
And shit. Steve did not think this far ahead. Didn’t think at all, really. There’s no plan here, just his big mouth, opening without his permission. He has no idea what to say next.
Except — figuring that out becomes the least of his worries.
Because the expectant look has melted right off of Eddie’s face as he stands frozen in the doorway. His pretty wide eyes are zeroed in on Steve’s outstretched hands — both of his hands.
The rings. Fuck.
Eddie is staring right at them, and there is no mistaking them.
“Are those… are you wearing my rings?” Eddie asks slowly.
for he's a bit of a fixer upper — this one is another chaptered fic idea i had more recently and i have actually gone so far as to start planning the chapters out! i talked about this one in the server a bit a while ago, and it is heavily hallmark movie inspired LOL, buuuut basically the rough idea is steve moves away from hawkins in 1989. his parents have been nagging him for years now to join his father's business, "it's not too late to pick yourself up and fix your reputation, steven", and, well, that's the last thing steve wants to do. he can't. he won't. it is this, plus the fact that the kids have all graduated and are going off to college, which means they don't need him anymore, which means that he won't have a purpose anymore, that propels him out of hawkins, finally.
the final nail in the coffin of his decision to get the hell out is eddie. because after spring of 1986 steve and eddie became friends. good friends. great friends, even. and that friendship only grew and grew over the years. steve doesn't realize until the end of 1988/early 1989 that somewhere along the way those warm and fuzzy feelings he always got around eddie weren't just friendship feelings. no, he's got feelings feelings. eventually steve finds out that eddie likes him too — that eddie is in love with him. and that, shit, that terrifies steve, actually. because it's one thing to play in hypotheticals in his head, and another thing entirely for it to be his reality. Something™️ happens (a kiss maybe?) between them and steve freaks out. he hasn't come to terms with his sexuality yet, doesn't even know what he is because he still likes girls... but eddie... he's confused and he's scared and he's not thinking straight (hah) and it's the last straw. he disappears a few days later.
he doesn't keep in touch with anyone — except for robin, who basically forces him to keep in contact with her. he feels guilty about leaving, so incredibly guilty, for so many reasons, but he'd been at his breaking point.
steve doesn't go back to hawkins. not one single time since he leaves.
until he gets the call that his parents have died. it was a car crash. no survivors. they went quick, the doctors tell him, they didn't suffer. (steve doesn't know how he feels about that. then he immediately feels guilty for thinking that.) blah blah blah lots of conflicted feelings about his parents and his relationship with them and blah blah blah.
in the aftermath, though, he is left to deal with the fallout of their lives — which includes their old house that has now come into his name. steve has absolutely no desire to live in that place. it was never a home to him then, why would it be now?
he decides to sell it.
this, of course, means he has to make the trek back to hawkins to take a look at it, clear out any personal belongings he might want to keep, get it ready for listing and walk throughs and all that. the place hasn't been touched since the "earthquakes" so he doesn't expect there will be much to do aside from clearing out a thick layer of dust.
only, when he gets there he finds the place in much worse condition than he thought. the lawn is an awful mixture of dead and overgrown; a couple windows are broken; the paint is faded; there is plenty of dust, but there is also mold in some places, and the water has long since been shut off, electricity too, and some of the wiring has been chewed through by rats or some wild animal.
basically, the house is a disaster and needs a complete revamping.
it's a much bigger project than steve expected, but he's got the money to do it (his parents hadn't taken him out of the will — a surprise to him), and he supposes he's got the time too. and he has the skillset to do most of the work himself too (thanks to the odd jobs he'd picked up and bounced between since he'd left hawkins). so he decides to fix it up himself.
he tells this to robin, who he is staying with while he's back in hawkins, and robin absolutely will not stand for that. she tells him he's crazy, that that's way too much work to take on alone. it takes a lot of arguing and nagging before robin finally gets steve to agree to hire a professional to help him.
enter: eddie munson.
not long after steve had left, eddie got a job at the local repair and maintenance shop. corroded coffin never took off like eddie had hoped, but his career as a handyman did. he got good at it, worked hard, earned himself a whole new reputation. the owner didn't have any children or grandchildren, so when he passed, he left the shop to eddie. it's the only repair and maintenance shop that's local, and it's all eddie's.
so, when steve sets up the appointment (or maybe robin sets it up for him so eddie doesn't know it's steve until the last minute) and eddie rolls up to get started, they see each other again.
for the first time in ten years.
for the first time since steve left.
immediately, steve wants to explain. to apologize. but eddie jumps straight into business and doesn't give him the chance to. he just treats steve like any ol customer. only colder. he is, clearly, understandably, still upset. still hurt.
blah blah blah
slowly but surely, eddie starts to open back up around steve, to steve. the grudge is let go of (probably after something Pivotal happens... an injury maybe? hmmm), they have a Conversation about what happened. steve gets his chance to apologize. eddie works on forgiving him. they become friends again.
and over the course of fixing up steve's old house, they start to fall in love again.
and at some point, it stops being eddie taking creative direction from steve, and turns into the two of them collaborating, sharing the choices, making decisions together; the house becomes just as much eddie's as it is steve's.
by the time they finish the repairs, steve finds that he doesn't want to sell anymore. he wants to stay.
he wants to stay, and he wants eddie to live there with him. the two of them, together. in the house they built. the home they made together. 💕
((WOOF sorry that got LONG lol but god i want to write this one SOOOO bad, but, again, chaptered fics are scary!! i am Determined though!!))

Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want - Chapter 4
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3)
(Prior Chapter) (Next Chapter)
(Read on AO3)
Around 1PM Steve gets the call from Robin that operation Suzie Q is a go. Breathing out a sigh of relief Steve hangs up to get back to his ironing - he’s got two suits to press now.
When Steve pulls up to the Henderson home, he fully expects to lay on the horn to get Dustin to come out but is surprised to find his friend already on the front steps. He wonders if Claudia Henderson sent him outside so Dustin wouldn’t see her charging the family camcorder, but doesn’t question it. Instead, he leans over to open the car door for Dustin, who is under the impression Steve is there to distract him from prom.
Once Dustin is in the car, pulls out of the driveway to head to Robin’s and is about to tell Dustin as much when he’s cut off.
“I’m sorry,” Dustin blurts out.
“Sorry? What for?” Steve can’t genuinely think of what Henderson has to apologize for. Of all his kids he's the second most well-behaved next to Byers so he's really not sure where this apology is coming from. Unless, once again, Henderson has put a demonic puppy hiding in his bedroom.
"I'm sorry for being a dick. I know, I know language, but hear me out.” Steve nods for him to continue, hoping if he lets Henderson’s rant he won’t notice the route they’re driving. “A few weeks ago I pissed you off. I-I said that stuff about you and Eddie hiding your relationship from your parents and now you're here taking me out to distract me as if nothing happened. And I just needed to say sorry!”
Of all the possibilities, that had not been what Steve was expecting, but it was way better than another demodog. Steve can handle this. Steve cannot handle another creature of the Upside-Down.
“Well thank you for the apology Henderson that's very big of you. But it's not like you said anything untrue. It is true. It just sucks.” The admission doesn’t seem to quell Dustin’s apology though, rather it seems to give him permission to ask why.
“But that’s it! You've never explained to any of us, to me, why you and Eddie hide. He’s an alpha, you’re an omega, it’s kind of the fit your parents are looking for! For all the talks you both give us about being yourselves, it’s messed up that you aren’t taking your own advice.”
Steve sighs because it's not exactly a conversation he's been wanting to have with any of his kids let alone Dustin. But now it's May and  Henderson is going off to college. When did he grow up so fast? It feels like yesterday he was walking down train tracks with the kid and now he’s lecturing Steve about his relationship. But then again, that was the point of all this, wasn't it? To see them all grow up.
"Do you remember the first day at the lake the summer after Vecna happened?" Steve sees Dustin and nods and continues. “Right well that day Eddie and I made a promise - to be single and watch your kids grow up.” Steve chances a look over to Dustin and sees him looking both touched and confused. “We really didn't keep that first part as you know, but that's the day I learned Eddie and I were on the same page when it came to this pack. We realized that the only thing that was going to keep us sane in the aftermath of everything was making sure you six got out of Hawkins. Part of that plan included not letting my parents know Eddie and I were together because they’re traditional.”
“What do you mean traditional?” Dustin asks, confused and Steve’s grateful that Dustin’s living in a world where the ideas of his parents are becoming archaic.
“I'm not going to get into the details, but let’s just go with my parents are of a belief that all alpha/omega pairings should be male-female, and having an omega son threw them for a loop. So Eddie being a guy, in addition to being Eddie...well it makes things complicated.”
There is silence in the car as Dustin processes what he’s just heard. Steve’s certain all the kids would be a little stunned to know that the two older men had put in such an effort to stick around and weren’t just being townies by default, but rather an active choice.
“But we’re all leaving? I mean Erica is still in high school, but the rest of us are out of here? So what now?”
Steve can’t help but laugh. “Now? Maybe I'll take your advice and tell my parents to fuck off.”
Dustin laughs along with Steve, the image of Mr. and Mrs. Harrington being actually told to fuck off amusing them more than it should. It's only once Dustin settles down that he realizes where the car is headed.
“Why are we going to Robin's house?” he wonders.
“Right about that. We got you a bit of an early graduation present and I didn't want to wait to give it to you. Figured it would take your mind off of today.”
For the next few minutes, Steve humors all of Dustin's guesses until he's parked in Robin's driveway. This time he gets to lay on the horn to signal their arrival before getting out of the car.
Steve lets Dustin walk to the front door while he takes a seat on the hood of his car and watches as the door opens to reveal Dustin’s graduation gift.
***
The next few hours are a swirl of emotions and far too much picture-taking. Steve drives Dustin and Suzie to the Wheeler house where everyone assembles for group photos, and the shock of seeing the last-minute pair show up sends the pack into a flurry of questions, shouts, and tears. Steve knows he’s done well when Hopper claps him on the shoulder in his stoic approving dad way.
Leaning against the back of the sofa in the Wheeler living room Steve watches as all the kids line up for photos - group, couple, girls only, boys only. He watches Lucas put on Max’s corsage, and looks on a Will introduces his new boyfriend to the parents who’ve yet to meet him. He smiles as Hop and El take sweet father-daughter photos and cracks up when Claudia Henderson starts to drive Dustin a little mad with all the poses she’s asking for.
Glancing at his watch he knows he should head out to get to the school gym to meet up with Robin, Nancy, and the other chaperones. He stands to confirm once again with Joyce and Karen about the afterparty plans - he agreed to host the kids at his place so they was some semblance of supervision. It’s once he starts walking to the door that he hears someone run up behind him. He turns and sees Max looking bashful, and Steve begins to worry. Max Mayfield never second-guesses herself.
“Where are you going?” she starts, and Steve points to his car out the window, explaining that he wants to pull out of the driveway before their limo arrives and blocks him in. “Well you can’t leave yet,” she orders, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“And why is that?” he asks, looking behind her to see the kids watching the exchange.
Max mumbles something and Steve doesn’t quite hear it. “You’re going to have to repeat that Max, I’m old, a fact you like to remind me of.”
“You haven’t taken a photo with me, I mean us. You haven’t taken a photo with any of us...and that's sort of dumb,” she mutters.
Steve’s eyes go from Max’s pinched face to the gaggle of teenagers peeking out from behind the living room wall and his chest hurts. A part of him didn’t want to intrude because he knows that for all their teasing he isn’t actually their mom. He’s just Steve the babysitter. But seeing his six kids look at him with expectant eyes, Steve doesn’t know what he was thinking.
“Your right, I am dumb,” he agrees and lets Max tug him back to the living room for another round of photos.
***
Steve walks into the Hawkins gymnasium and winces at the cheesy theme chosen for the evening - A Night In Paris. Not that his own prom’s theme was any better (Under the Sea) but something about the garish faux Eiffel Tower has him cringing. He checks in with Principal Murphy who is still skeptical about Steve’s chaperone sign-up but is soon released to go find Robin and Nancy at the drink table.
“The dingus made it!” Robin calls out, and Steve just nods as he takes an offered glass of punch.
“That I did. The kids' photos ran a little over, but everyone is all set. And might I say that you both look great tonight,” he compliments, earning a faux curtsy from Robin, who’s in a high-waisted suit, her sleeves rolled and cuffed. Nancy in contrast is wearing a silver strapless asymmetrical dress that will cause too many teens to come up for drinks tonight.
“I’m surprised you two are using Nancy’s free weekend in town to babysit, not that I don’t appreciate the company,” Steve remarks as he watches the teenagers start to filter in. “I thought you two went to your class’ prom?”
“We did, but just with friends,” Nancy explains, leaning against her girlfriend. “So we figured why not have a proper do-over, without the threat of the supernatural looming over us.” “Yeah, besides, we don’t exactly get the chance to hang out together all that often. Speaking of which, where is Eddie?” Robin says looking around.
Steve doesn’t meet their eyes, opting to sip his punch instead. “Sleeping probably, but he’ll be at my house later. He drove back and forth from Chicago this morning so he’s tired. Besides, can you picture him in a suit dancing to Madonna?” he laughs wryly, recalling his boyfriend’s words while trying to ignore his disappointment.
“Well we can have fun,” Nancy chimes in, her clap breaking Steve’s mope. “I only saw Dustin and Suzie get ready so I don’t even know what my little brother looks like all dressed up,” she starts, and Robin soon chimes in with her tales of carting Max and El to the mall to look for dresses.
*
The upside of repeating his senior year three times is that Eddie knows all the ways in and out of Hawkins High. In the past, he used this knowledge to skip class or find a good spot to make a deal. This is why if you told Eddie he’d be using this knowledge in his 20s to break into his old high school’s gymnasium he would have laughed.
The side door to the old coach's lounge is still busted, and Eddie slips in quietly. Through the padded walls, Eddie can hear the din of the music blaring in the gymnasium and throws his head back in frustrated recognition - "Like a Prayer" by Madonna is playing, something Eddie reluctantly knows thanks to Steve’s undying love for female pop icons. He figured with just an hour left in the night he might have escaped some of the worst chart toppers but it seems he was wrong. Walking closer to the exit, Eddie catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror and pauses. His hair was tied back and away from his face, showing off his lined eyes and pierced ears. He tugs on his suit jacket, a patched and pinned number he’d put together for a Lost Boys costume last Halloween, and paired it with his least frayed pair of pants. With a rapid polish to his boots, Eddie walked out the door before he chickened out. Steve probably deserved a guy in a tux instead of whatever Eddie could pull out of his closet, but Henderson insisted it didn’t matter what he wore as long as he showed up. His youngest friend had called him once Steve was out of the Wheeler house to scold him for not going to prom, and he hates to admit he was right.
“The road goes ever on and on, Munson, so starts walking,” he tells himself with a final look and heads into the gym.
The change in volume is almost deafening when Eddie opens the door and finds that his exit is right next to the speakers. Keeping to the wall he scans the room and first spots Buckley and Wheeler dancing behind the drinks table, clearly trying to both enjoy themselves despite being surrounded by teenagers. His eyes pan further around the room and eventually, his eyes find Steve. The man is bobbing his head at the fringes of the crowd as he keeps a dutiful eye on the crowd. Ever the prep, despite Eddie’s best efforts, Steve is rocking the Don Johnson look, teal blazer and all.
Doing his best not to draw attention to himself Eddie weaves through the crowd until he’s right beside Steve. “You look good tonight big boy, haven’t seen you this cleaned up in a bit,” he murmurs into Steve’s ear. His boyfriend whirls around, eyes wide in disbelief, and for a moment Eddie is worried he’s going to cry. Henderson was right - all he needed to do was show up.
“Eddie!” Steve cries out, gripping his shoulders, “what are you doing here? I thought you were going to just meet us at my place. Did something happen?”
“Can’t a guy want to see his boyfriend?” Eddie shrugs. “Besides I got news.”
“News?”
“Was gonna wait until the after-party but nows a good as time as any,” he starts, taking in a deep breath. “I got the job babe - we’re both getting out of this hell hole. So go ahead and call that apartment back in the morning.”
Eddie watches as Steve just stares at him as he processes the news. All their planning and hard work are finally paying off - the other shoe didn’t drop, instead, it was cast so far out they’d never see it again. He’s about to ask whether or not Steve heard him when his boyfriend pulls him into a kiss. Not a peck on the cheek or a chaste brush of the lips, but a full-on kiss in view of everyone at prom. A whistle from the crowd is what makes Eddie pull back, and while he’s catching his breath, Steve is beaming.
“So does that mean we can-”
“Yeah,” Eddie nods.
“And we can start-”
“Yep,” he grins, knowing exactly what Steve wants. His boyfriend has been waiting for the day he can toss a molotov into the life planned out for him and set it ablaze. Eddie is happy to hand him the lighter.
Over the music, Eddie tells Steve about his conversation with Sweat Records, the fog of disbelief now cleared so he can actually remember the conversation he had on the payphone. “And it’s not just managing the shop Steve, they want me to book acts to play there too,” he rambles, telling Steve all the plans he has for the store until he feels a tap on his back and sees the disgruntled face of Principal Murphy.
“Mr. Munson, I do recall gym was your most skipped class, which is why I’m shocked to see you in here. This is a private event for students and chaperones so I’m going to have to ask you to leave,” she begins, when Steve pulls out a ticket from his pocket.
“Sorry Mrs. Murphy, Eddie here was my plus one but he wasn’t feeling well so I didn’t sign him in,” he begins and before the woman can continue her scolding Steve slides the ticket into her outstretched hand and drags Eddie to the dancefloor.
He loops his arms behind Steve’s head and he figures it won’t kill him to indulge his omega in a song or two. After all, neither of them went to prom. As they sway Eddie can hear Steve murmuring the words under his breath, and can’t help but nuzzle his neck a bit. Soon enough he’s going to hear all of Steve’s shitty music choices fill their apartment, the apartment that is going to smell like them and never again like the neutralizing soap Steve has to use between his parents’ visits and the nights Eddie spends in his bed. Soon enough it won’t matter what the Harrington’s say because Steve is going to be his, and he’ll be Steve’s. He’s got a ring and everything, despite Steve’s insistence that all he needs is a bite.
Eddie smiles into the crook of Steve’s neck, nipping it before he glances up to see Principal Murphy frowning at them. Without hesitation, Eddie turns the hands gripping Steve’s shoulder upward to flick off his former principal with both his middle fingers.

Eddie Munson had been dragged kicking and screaming into everything with the upside down, he’d fought alongside them, had fought bravely beside them, had proven vital in the downfall of Vecna, but had paid the ultimate price in doing so.
Steve felt somewhat responsible for it, afterall it had been his plan to send Dustin and Eddie off together. He confessed this one night to Robin whilst very drunk and very sad.
“You can’t save everyone” Robin had simply replied.
She went on to say that Steve had done all he could, he had sent them off together so that they were away from Venca, that Steve, hell, no one, could have predicted what would happen, that Eddie would cut the rope and stop himself from getting back. That the metal head would offer himself up as bat food to give the rest of them a better chance. Eddie was dead when they got back to him. They had all felt for a pulse in various parts of his body, had tried their best to both feel and or hear a heartbeat. There wasn't one. Eddie had joined Barb, Bob, Chrissy and Patrick in being victims of The Upside Down.
It had been 7 weeks since they Upside Down had been closed, this time for good. El and Will both said they couldn’t feel anything and that everything inside there was now stuck there, including Eddie’s body.
Dustin had taken over Hellfire and had started a new campaign. This is the reason that Steve Harrington found himself back in Hawkins High and walking down its halls once again. He wanted to be there at the end of the evening to make sure that everything had gone ok. That's where he first saw him, Eddie, walking in front of him. He blinked and rubbed his eyes only for the figure he thought to be Eddie was in fact the janitor.
"That was weird, could have sworn that it was either Eddie or his damn doppelganger for a second." Steve muttered to himself as he carried on walking towards the classroom they were using.
Hellfire had decided that the drama room held too many memories for them to continue to meet in, and Mr Clarke had given them permission to use his classroom. As he walked past the drama room he noticed that the door was open and glanced inside, yet again he thought he saw Eddie but when he took a step back he saw it was just a dummy that was used as a prop.
He shook his head as he continued down the corridor, he was just over tired, he wasn’t really seeing Eddie, his brain was tricking him. It had to be, there was no other explanation to what he had seen.
Only those weren’t the only two occasions he saw Eddie. He started seeing him whilst walking the streets, especially close to the record store he guessed Eddie liked to frequent. He had even shouted his name a couple of times when he had been absolutely certain it was Eddie in front of him. The walk, the hair, the height even was Eddie. When the person turned around at the sound of him shouting the person was totally different, taller, shorter hair, walking with a limp.
“Dustin, I’m losing my damn mind” Steve confessed one afternoon whilst it was just the two of them at Family Video.
“Why? What’s happening?” Dustin asked, without his usual sassiness, only concern present.
“I know he’s dead, but I’m sure I’ve seen Eddie half a dozen times in the past couple weeks. Just in random places. In the school hallway, drama room and a handful of times out and about. I don’t know what it is.” Steve explained.
“So you keep seeing his doppleganger?” Dustin asked “looks like him, talks like him, walks like him, everything the same” he went on to explain at Steve’s confused face.
“Yeah, yeah exactly! I haven’t heard him as such but everything else yes! When I look closer though or the person turns around it's not him though, not even a close enough match to be confused!” Steve mentioned. “Told you it’s crazy though” he added.
“I don’t think it is. I’ve seen him too, similar places to where you said, I’ve been looking into it. There’s a theory that dopplegangers come from a parallel universe, I had a thought that it could be the Upside Down, that what we’re seeing is that.”
