They could possibly expect lacerations, fractures (often to the face/head and ribs from being kicked and their arms from trying to shield themself) sprains, severe bruising, internal bleeding or organ damage.

The story behind my username (part 1)
When I was 12, I had to partake in mandatory physical torture education. My class was playing “field hockey”, one of those games were you run around whacking a tiny ball with a stick (sexual innuendo not intended). When we were on break, we would sit on top of the folded bleachers, which look like this:
Ours were about that height, probably 7 feet above the ground. Instead of climbing down, my ADHD ass thought it would be a great idea to jump down. I did so, and promptly rolled my left ankle with a sickening crunch. It was sprained.
However, because I’m autistic, I have a weird way of interpreting pain. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, to the extent that it’s dangerous. /nj
So I continued throughout my day, playing in the game, and then school, without really telling anyone. Sure, it was swollen and bruised and sore, but that’s not bothering me, so why should I mention it?
I even went to ballet class that night. We were practicing these one legged turns, and when it came to our left side, I obviously couldn’t support my body weight. I then again fell and rolled my ankle. If it wasn’t sprained before, it certainly was then.
I never told my parents or anybody, mostly because I didn’t want to disrupt my daily routine. I also have a connective tissue disorder, so my ankle would never heal properly to begin with. So I meandered through life with a sometimes angry ankle and that was that. Or so we thought…

And screamed

A booming voice cut through the gloom of the armory. “STOP THIS! NOW!”
Jon pulled himself to his feet. Donal Noye stood glowering at them.
“The yard is for fighting,” the armorer said. “Keep your quarrels out of my armory, or I’ll make them my quarrels. You won’t like that.”
Toad sat on the floor, gingerly feeling the back of his head. His fingers came away bloody. “He tried to kill me.”
“‘S true. I saw it,” one of the rapers put in.
“He broke my wrist,” Grenn said again, holding it out to Noye for inspection.
The armorer gave the offered wrist the briefest of glances. “A bruise. Perhaps a sprain. Maester Aemon will give you a salve. Go with him, Todder, that head wants looking after. The rest of you, return to your cells.
“Not you, Snow. You stay.”
Jon sat heavily on the long wooden bench as the others left, oblivious to the looks they gave him, the silent promises of future retribution. His arm was throbbing.

I sprained my ankle and it’s going to take 3 to 6 weeks to heal. I managed to either get pink-eye, or I have something lodged in my left eyeball that’s mucking up my vision. And I have a mountain of work tasks. Since I work in a large organization, I think some of the people who would like my assistance might feel I’ve been slacking off the past week, but uh... when you’re injured but not to an extent that you need to be off work, do you like, put out a memo to the effect of ‘Sorry I couldn’t do better, I was doped up on pain meds and my eyeball is burning’?
Sigh.
Also the minor anxiety of ‘do I need to see a physician about this or will they think I’m being unnecessarily needy?’... actually, that’s an easy one. Yup. I need to see a physician. Possible foreign body in the eye, irritation and mildly blurred vision? It might just be a viral conjunctivitis, but if I’ve gotten a bit of popcorn kernel or dust or whatevs in there, I’d rather the professionals dealt with it.

One time when I was like 7 I sprained my ankle playing outside so I go in to tell my parents something is wrong but it’s like super late at night when I did it so they’re like if it hurts we’ll go in the morning- well morning comes along and it still hurts here’s the important thing I was slightly afraid of the doctor (and still slightly am) and as I’m sitting in that mostly empty waiting room it’s all setting in the they’re gonna have to touch me so I want to leave I tell my dad
“Hey you know my ankle feels fine now actually- I was probably being silly we can go” and my dad was like nope we drove all the way here, if you’re fine than walk on it. I look at him he looks at me I look at the only patient in the waiting room,an older dad looking individually who by now is intrigued by this array of daddery and had out down his news paper. I try to walk and the pain is insurmountable, anyways…
