when I fell asleep at 3:00 in the afternoon and awoke at 8:00, I dreamt that Scorch is actually a deep-cover agent for Rex. And being a trained clone commando, he hides his intentions very very well. What I can recall is that Scorch has hidden guilt about taking Omega away but he had no choice but to do his duty and that he was secretly glad she and Crosshair had escaped Weyland and Mount Tantiss. What I can recall is that, as Omega escaped; Scorch would mutter to himself “stay safe sister. Run away and never look back. It’s a dangerous galaxy out there.”
this could be the start of an idea of mine of which Scorch plays his role as a seemingly subservient clone commando very well!

so more on that role reversal au...
Shadow (created as a Weapon Against Humanity) who was eventually raised, and exploited, by G.U.N to become Humanity's Ultimate weapon and Sonic, found by Robotnik
some more expanded thoughts below ^_^
SHADOW - G.U.N AGENT
Shadow was initially created with the intention of being a Weapon Against Humanity. after a life-altering incident, G.U.N. takes Shadow into their custody, raising him to become one of their top agents, exploiting him.
he's constantly under government surveillance... inhibitor rings (developed by G.U.N.) are clamped onto him like a shock collar so he is unable to tap into his full power. (Shadow has neither tested nor does he know the extent of his strength.. he has never tried removing them. G.U.N. is the only one who can remove them.)
the hypocritical method in wanting their weapon (cough trained dog) to exercise and develop restraint on his own terms, and yet forcefully acclimating him.
Shadow’s aware of his past. Definitely struggles with Existential dread about why he’s on Earth and what he was made for. he wants to (and feels like he should) do good, but if he was initially made with destructive intent… is he compensating this way? is this what he really wants? no.. he shouldn't think like that.. Maria would want him to be good..
If not to make the world the better a place, if they still treat his kind as inferior and sometimes, even a threat to the whole human race, does humanity and this planet still deserve its rite for redemption? What is humanity? Is that something he’s capable of, as a weapon of mass destruction?
what is he trying to prove here? His docility? His ability to be obedient and be, by human standards, good? what does that mean in a world that may never accept them, and much less him- a synthetic and all-unnatural organism forged from humanity’s worst and an alien race only capable of Evil and wrongdoing. a being so perfectly suited for any and all forms of persecution. Humankind’s scapegoat. He thinks about Maria.
Maria remains a guiding light. Back then, she would sneak Shadow out to gaze upon the Earth, her former home. She misses it, the lush greenery, the sun, the people. she hopes that Shadow will get to experience what it’s like.
au shadow is emo edgy in a sad wet adult 40yo cat leon kennedy kind of way. au sonic is emo edgy like a 14yo that found out you could buy a tattoo gun on amazon without a license. I know nothing about resident evil
when he's not on a mission, he's usually in his "room" (extremely generous word for containment chamber/training facility.) he's like a hamster in a cage with toys to play with . (treadmills. race tracks. dummy robots. Ak-47s.) He's allowed to freely roam HQ from hours 6am-10pm, and if not, he is usually escorted by a guard, unless its Rouge sneaking him out. But beyond that, it's not like the ultimate lifeform needs that much sleep, and it'd be bad to have their ultimate weapon roaming the halls without supervision. but let's say there's the occasional nocturnal scavenger providing him a bit of nightly mischief that even the most complicated most difficult to navigate ventilation system cannot keep a natural-born burrower out..... (haha)
SONIC - ACCOMPLICE
Robotnik’s “accomplice” (adoptive son?)
Sonic goes along with Robotnik’s schemes but has his own ulterior motives .. after all, working under someone is still infringing on his sense of freedom, independence, and pride.
He only rlly helps out Robotnik out if it helps him… robotnik makes some new tech that tickles his , esp if smth that happens to enhance his existing abilities. sure he’s more than capable of doing things on his own but what’s better than to play with his new toys with his already existing toys (GUN. shadow.)
and if he manages to break them in a day then he’s found an issue that robotnik needs to troubleshoot immediately. eggman should really be Thanking him!
his only known goal atm is to find things that stave off his boredom. from what Shadow's gathered at least. but maybe there's more...
has a very bad No Good Fixation on shadow's inhibitor rings for whatever reason. wonder that could mean.
Still fucking around with roles and nothing's rlly set in stone. Im just kind of giggling kicking rocks and throwing pebbles in the water to see what lands ^q^
Rouge is still there! A contractor for G.U.N. A Recovering/reformed Jewel thief who joins the task force (maybe?)
the gang is also there! still brainstorming roles though. emrmmm

Wrap Me in Your Skin and Bones
NSFW - 18+
Warnings/Tags : Cockwarming, Nightmares, Mentions of Trauma and PTSD, Angst, Comfort, Love Confessions
Relationship: Crosshair/Fem!Reader
Summary: After solitary confinement on Mount Tantiss, Crosshair is plagued by nightmares that lead him to seek comfort in your body.
A/N : Wrote and posted this to AO3 before season 3 but wanted to put it here too 🫡 I just had this angsty lil thing in my head about how a touch starved Cross would deal with physical contact after the empire 🫶 (even though I firmly believe Tech survived the fall - he’s dead for the purpose of this I’m SORRY)
Tumblr media
NSFW BELOW THE CUT
The sharp hit to your ribs has you springing into a sitting position, eyes wild and scanning the room for a threat. Muscle memory from years in the war has you reaching for the blaster and pointing it towards various shadows in the room.
You would be a lousy shot with the way your hand shook from the adrenaline in your veins. But, there are no imperial agents hiding in your room, no battle droids under your bed, the source of the attack lays next to you, writhing against imaginary forces in his nightmare.
Crosshair.
Abandoning the blaster on the floor, you work on tearing the bedsheets away from him before he can tangle himself any further in the restrictive fabric. Every muscle in his body seems to be rigid, even once you manage to free him, but he still thrashes, as if fighting against invisible restraints.
The sight of his struggle has your stomach forming knots.
“Crosshair, wake up,” your pleading hands press to his shoulder, thankful that the prominence of his collarbones has eased over the last few weeks, but he’s still nowhere close to as healthy he was the last time you saw him before the war had ended.
Unlike the rest of the batch, you hadn’t seen Crosshair during his time under the empire, and although during his absence you were thankful for it, this only made it worse the day his brothers brought him home.
Crosshair had always been the leanest of them, you had even joked with him on several occasions that he resembled the toothpicks which always hung from his lips, but the breath had been stolen from your body when Echo half-carried him down the walkway. Crosshairs face was almost as hollow as Echo’s had been after Skako Minor, and it was now flecked in silver stubble, with a large scar that stretched across the side of his head where patches of hair were entirely missing.
Just as the pair passed you by, Crosshairs eyes had met your own. You were used to a range of emotions in them, from heated glares and desire filled gazes, occasionally there was even an amused look that framed his eyes with a hint of laughter lines. However, what you didn’t prepare yourself for was for them to be entirely void of any emotion, it was if you were just one of the stone pillars that lined the streets.
After a week in the infirmary, it became evident that Crosshair couldn’t sleep alone. With Hunter preoccupied with Omega, the responsibility fell to Echo the first few nights, he was the closest to understanding Crosshairs situation after all.
On the third day after the rescue, Hunter had told you although Omega was kept somewhat safe with another female clone, they had found Crosshair in solitary confinement. Something deep in your chest broke at the unsaid weight of the information. Despite his aversion to most people, Crosshair had spent years of being in tight living spaces with his brothers, only to be thrown in a cell alone for maker knows how long.
Maybe this was why he gravitated towards you once he was finally in good enough physical condition to be released from the infirmary.
Between Echo’s own complicated relationship with sleep, Wrecker’s inability to not snore and wake everyone in the immediate vicinity, and Hunters responsibility for Omega, it was you who took him in.
If Tech was still here, he would have been the one to stay with Crosshair. You push that thought down, but the pain still resonates in your chest.
You give Crosshair another shake, and the second your other hand presses to the bare skin of his face, his eyes snap open. He lashes out like a snarling animal trapped in a snare, gripping both your wrists and pinning you beneath him with a speed that causes the room to spin around you.
“It’s just me, Cross.” You speak in a hushed tone, attempting to calm him as you fight against his grip.
Reality bleeds into his eyes, momentarily easing his pained expression, but then he’s choking on the air, collapsing onto you.
“I need,” although his face is buried in your neck, you hear the emotion crack his voice, and you already know the broken look that on his face. “Please, I need you.”
“It’s okay, Cross.” You nod and widen your legs, allowing his hips to settle between them. Your bodies act on the familiar routine you had both fallen into over the last few months since he moved into your spare room - which he has still never spent a night in. Crosshairs shakes have already begun to ease with the contact, his hands have at least stilled enough so he can effectively rid you both of the few items of clothing until you were bare against each other.
He coils himself around you at first, as if he were a snake trying to suffocate its prey, but you only wrap your arms around him in return, welcoming his touch. You aren’t certain if it’s the solitary confinement that made him need the contact, or if it’s some lingering effect of the chip, but either way you still offer yourself to him.
Seemingly unable to wait for his heart to settle, he chases the comfort only you can provide, and begins the slow push of himself inside you. Crosshair’s breaths are escaping him in desperate pants and he’s pressing as much of himself to you as possible, seeking the warmth of your body to drive away the sensation of the cold interrogation table that plagued his mind.
The stretch burns with the little preparation you have, and Crosshair senses your silent discomfort. He draws his hips back with a mumbled apology, so only the tip remains inside you, and draws slow circles on your clit with his thumb. It doesn’t take long for the resistance to ease with your wetness, and soon enough he’s rocking back into you with a groan, allowing you time to adjust.
He doesn’t attempt to bring you to the precipice, or anywhere close to it. Once he fully settles into you, his hand withdraws and instead tangles itself in your hair.
Right now Crosshairs need for you isn’t sexual, despite what it seems.
Some nights it will delve into more once his body relaxes, and he’ll take his time to have you come undone beneath him with more care and attention than he had ever possessed before the rise of the empire. But tonight, as he does most nights, he stills once fully seathed inside you, his only desire being your embrace.
“Where was it this time?” Sometimes he would answer, but other times he would give a slight shake to his head in response.
“Barton-4, then the interrogation room.” His voice is strained, and you recall everything he’s already told you about these places, specifically the haunting memory of Mayday’s death.
“You’re safe, we’re both safe, Crosshair.” You press a kiss to his temple as if it would help the promise sink into his mind. One of your hands moves to the back of his head, cradling him against your neck as the other traces patterns on his back.
It takes a few minutes of silence for his breathing to fall in sync with yours, and despite his cock being inside you, the light exhale against your neck has your face heating at the intimacy. His shakes have entirely ceased now, and you think he’s fallen asleep, until you hear the broken whisper.
“I love you.”
Your body freezes at the admission, both hands stopping their comforting movements. His throat bobs against your neck with a dry swallow, and you wonder if it’s his body trying to subconsciously take back the words.
You had been somewhat together during the clone wars, but it was never emotionally intimate. He had a physical need for you in a way that led to fucking you from behind against almost every surface on the marauder. And yet, true to his cold nature he never faced you, or even kissed you. Once he finished, he would neaten his armour and leave without a goodbye, yet you would still allow him back every time he gave the word.
“Crosshair-“ you start, but he’s cutting you off before your mouth can form another syllable.
“I know it’s not the right time to say it, but I do, I always have.” He rasps, trying to force the confession out in one breath, as if ripping the bacta patch off a wound.
Always have?
Your mind begins unravelling years of your self-imposed torture during the clone wars from biting down your feelings, pretending not to care when some pretty girl inevitably threw herself at him in a bar.
“You need to sleep.” He bites out, hurt evident in his tone at your lack of response, but he doesn’t dare peel himself away from you. Despite the hurt seeping into him, he’s too selfish to let you go unless you ask him to leave.
“Crosshair.” There’s no response, but something possesses you to reach out anyways, and you’re pressing your hand to his face, craning your neck to meet his stare. His eyes are open, but still avoid your own.
Your brush your nose against his, and your thumb traces over the sharp angle of his jaw, memorising the way he ever-so-slightly leans into your touch.
“I love you too.”
His eyes close, a shaky breath of relief escaping his lips. Crosshair had never needed a helmet to mask his emotions before his brothers brought him back to Pabu, back to you. His face had always been set in an ever cold smirk, whether it be when he was taunting a reg, on a stealth mission, or when you caught glimpses of him in mirrored surfaces in the marauder as he fucked himself into you. However, at your words, something akin to peace washes over his face, allowing it to morph into a rare expression of something softer, like that of a soldier returning from battle finally setting eyes on his home.
When the morning comes, you half expect the bed to be cold, or at least as cold as it can be in the climate of Pabu, but when the midday sun casts its warming rays over your skin, he’s still inside of you. Slender limbs have tangled with your own and his face is nestled against your neck, but you can tell from his breathing that he’s already awake.
“Stay.” It’s a whispered prayer against your skin, a desperate plea to some deity that seems to have abandoned him long ago in that cell on Mount Tantiss. But you don’t think the gods, the Empire or even the force could keep you apart now, and you don’t want them to. You press your forehead to his, a wordless answer to him that you aren’t going anywhere, that he’ll never have to be alone again.

Has a hard time with his whole shadows situation and not being able to remember himself before “omen” but believes that if he has you then he’s okay how it is.
Tries to be funny…fails. His voice makes the punchline go over your head.
Sends you emails to your protocol device when your away too long.
Doesn’t allow you to go on any missions alone or he is a nervous wreck.
I’ll add more soon! These are fun to write before bed.☺️ I gotta find more of these cute pictures! I get them all from Pinterest so I can’t exactly credit the original artists. Hopefully they don’t mind! - Maron!

Context
I have always loved how Amy always has faith there’s good in everyone even if they don’t believe in it themselves. Most of her allies and sometimes enemies view this as a strength, but what about those that view it as a Weakness who would take advantage of it? Surprisingly I haven’t seen that much content that has someone take advantage of Amy’s kindness and compassion. So what if when Amy first arrived on earth in the SCU someone took advantage of Amy's trusting nature?
(Like her origin in the game) Amy does a tarot card reading that leads her to Earth in search of her hero
She arrived a couple of months before G.U.N. Locate and release project shadow
Unfortunately, G.U.N. are the first humans Amy encounters who gladly accept Amy’s offer to aid on their mission
They were even kind enough to gift her a new outfit and high-tech pack that would be more practical for the “adventure” they’re going on.
In reality, the “gift” was Eggman's old tech that they refurbished to keep new intergalactic arrivals in their control (they were originally going to use it on Shadow once they found him).
The pack on her back is meant to send a controlled shock to keep the chosen subject in line
Sadly By the time Amy discovers that these people are up to no good she is already in too deep, experiencing her first shock at her first act of defiance.
Since then, Amy unwillingly works for G.U.N alongside Shadow (and eventually Rouge too).
Despite the circumstances, Amy remains kind and compassionate toward the humans she works with.
She even won the hearts of some of the more compassionate agents who worked at G.U.N (unfortunately they couldn’t help as much as they wanted to).
She still retains hope that she find her hero, and they’ll put their heads together and get her out of this mess.
Until then, she begrudgingly obeys orders and tries her best to wait out the storm (and maybe try to find her way out).
Shadow is the opposite of Amy, he is a lot colder and sometimes even aggressive towards other humans (especially G.U.N. Operatives).
He just works with G.U.N. For his own means to an end ( like the game shadow has amnesia and his memories have been tampered went to exact his revenge on humanity for Maria’s sake).
Despite his cold nature toward those around him, he forms a genuine bond with Amy Rose (and eventually Rouge too).
Amy is one of the few people Shadow finds comfort and peace in despite her sometimes overwhelmingly bubbly and energetic personality.
He can’t help but be reminded of Maria whenever he catches Amy taking in every nook and cranny of what Earth has to offer whenever they’re on their missions.
G.U.N. Takes notice of this and eventually takes full advantage of this to keep Shadow in their control
Shortly after Shadow was released, Rouge arrived on Earth, her sights set on the legendary master emerald.
Fortunately, Rouge was able to keep her distance (and guard up) enough to not let G.U.N. pull something similar to Amy (much to Amy’s relief).
Rouge and G.U.N. Do strike a deal, if rouge works with them the emerald is her’s (at least it is what they lead her to believe)
The team officially form intending to apprehend Sonic and his friends
Throughout their missions and training sessions, Shadow and Amy's bond grows stronger along with their new teammate Rouge.
Shadow and Rouge form a friendship built on trust and respect.
While Amy and Rouge's friendship is rough around the edges (they bicker a lot), they do have some form of respect for each other (they kind of have a sister relationship going on that neither of them would admit).
Rouge eventually gets curious about what is in it for Amy working for G.U.N. Which gets Shadow curious. they both know Amy is not the type to work for these goons to get something out of it.
Amy hesitantly replies that she wanted to help them out, but things got… complicated, so now she’s here.
Amy doesn’t want to worry Shadow or appear weak to Rouge, nor does she want to get them too involved in her problems.
Shadow and Rouge are suspicious that there’s something more going on between Amy and G.U.N that she’s not telling them.
Sadly, their suspicions are confirmed when one of their missions goes wrong and Amy takes the brunt of the blame.
shadow and Rouge witness firsthand what the pack on Amy’s back is meant for, and they both don't like it one bit
Shadow steps in to stop them while Rouge comforts Amy the best she can
with the confirmation that not just Shadow but Rouge cares deeply for Amy, G.U.N. not so subtly threatens Shadow and Rouge that this could happen again if they aren't so compliant on their next mission.
As Shadow comforts Amy, his hatred for G.U.N and humanity has cemented if it wasn’t already. He promised himself that he would stop at nothing to get Amy out of this place and make every last one of these agents pay. Unbeknownst to him, Rouge had made a similar promise to herself (but not to the full extent of ending all of humanity).
Eventually, the team encounters their target Sonic heroes, which leads to a lot of conflict
Amy is certain that Sonic is the hero that she was destined to meet and that they should accept the help they are offering
Shadow disagrees, feeling that Sonic is nothing but an idiot who can’t save anyone (and besides he didn’t need saving).
Amy is willing to take that chance with Sonic and attempts to accept his help but Shadow quickly intervenes when he notices the two warning beeps and her pack starting to activate.
Before the final warning, shadow grabs Amy (unintentionally sending the message that Shadow is taking Amy hostage to the heroes and pissing Amy off).
Realizing that G.U.N would never let Amy go so easily (assuming that the pack would terminate her if she were to side with the enemy). Shadow decides to take a risk with the heroes.
Before Shadow Chaos controls away with his teammate/hostage, he gives the heroes a good look at Amy’s pack and glares down at the heroes stating “If you’re truly looking for someone to save then pay attention!”
Sonic and Knuckles are enraged by Shadow's cowardly and low action of taking the girl hostage to escape their fight.
That was until Tails showed his brother what unit managed to pick up on Amy.
The brothers are horrified by what could’ve happened if Shadow hadn’t intervened in time. They all agree to take things carefully when trying to help Amy.
Sonic wants to help Shadow reignite after learning what he is willing to do to save Amy (he was just gonna be a tough nut to crack).
Rouge later gives the heroes blueprints on the pack to aid them in safely getting Amy free
Eventually, thanks to the help of Rouge and Tails’ careful planning, they were able to free Amy from their control.
With Amy safe, Shadow finally initiates his revenge against G.U.N and humanity.
Amy isn’t having it, so she confronts Shadow who doesn’t understand why after everything the government/humans have put her through she would still defend them.
She calmly replies that yes, she has experienced the worst of humanity, but she also witnessed the good in humanity with her brief time on earth.
Amy’s heartfelt speech strikes a chord with Shadow, reminding him of his true promise to Maria.
Wanting to make things right Shadow makes a new promise to Amy before aiding Sonic in saving the world.

Ok now that Superstars is out and people like it (mostly) can we PLEASE put Fang in the modern games/comics please. Let him talk. Give him a cooler gun (preferably some high tech laser revolver that aesthetically matches his bike). Make him a reoccurring mini boss. I don’t care. I’m just dying to see him interact with the modern cast in the games. Like:
Rouge: Rouge is a government secret agent that was formerly(?) a jewel thief. So she used to be an outlaw just like Fang, but is now one of the “good guys” while he’s still a hitman bounty hunter. Have these two ever crossed paths before? How would they interact with each other? How would they challenge each other’s viewpoints and vice versa?
Shadow: Fang used guns and bikes first! I want a scene where Fang accuses Shadow of cribbing his style. Also since Fang has been M.I.A. since before SA2 (I imagine he finally got arrested lol), it’d be funny if there was some scene where Fang’s like “what are you, Sonic’s emo cousin or something” then someone has to explain Shadow’s Lore™ to him and it just instantly cuts away to Fang’s confused yet horrified stare. Could also be a fun way to introduce Shadow’s backstory to newer fans.
The Chaotix: There’s a great arc in the Archie comics where Fang + Bark and Bean are looking for the same Chaos Emerald Team Chaotix (and Knuckles) is looking for. I honestly just want more of that. Fang and his boys bounce off of the detectives so naturally that you could convince me that they were planned to be intentional foils to each other
Silver: I think it’d be funny to have a scene/running gag where Silver, who’s from the future, goes on about how everyone in the main cast is considered a legendary hero/infamous villain by his time, then Fang shows up and Silver’s just like “uh, who are you?” and Fang is slightly offended over it
I don’t know if Sega still has their weird “classic characters can’t appear in modern games” rule, but Tailstube and some miscellaneous tweets show that the modern cast is allowed to at least recall the classic games as past adventures. So it really feels like there’s no reason to not put him (or any of the “classic” characters) in a modern title.
Sega please you’re doing so well just bring him home

title: Trust Takes…A Near-Death Experience?
blurb: the one in which the newest combat avenger that has limited healing abilities proves themselves. (fem!reader)
warnings: Clint should look around before leaving cover, Reader just wants acceptance (at the cost of hurting themselves), injury, medbay vibe?, passing out, the team are kinda mean to start with, swearing
Tumblr media
“Now, everybody follow instructions. Nobody go off and do their own thing, this is a quick in and out mission.”
The voice of the Captain boomed through the tech-clad jet, and the brightness from the overhead lights found love in my eyes, causing me to squint in attempt to see my surroundings.
“Stark, Nat and I will clear the pathway to the entrance. Wanda, Sam and Buck, cover and protect the perimeter. Clint and Y/N enter the building quietly, get the flash drive and leave. Don’t make contact with anyone inside.”
A chorus of “got its” and a cheeky “Sir yes sir” from Sam replaced the single voice. Clint made his way over to me, blindly handing me a small handgun.
“Just in case. You should stay behind me, stay in the shadows unless I tell you otherwise. This should be easy.”
His voice was sharp and I could tell he was annoyed I was partnered up with him. I felt the whole group’s eyes set on me and shuffled back in my seat awkwardly.
Stark stood up, lowering his helmet over his head. “Yeah and uh, when you see HYDRA agents try to stay loyal to us. I know they used to be a such a dear part of your life.”
Hostility was woven in his words, and snickers surrounded me. If the ground felt like eating me whole now would be the perfect time. Or eating them. That would be better, and it would be nice to see them grovelling for my help.
Ever since Fury took me in as a HYDRA escapee, the team have been less than pleased by my mere existence. I’m not stupid, I’ve heard them talking. Things about how they couldn’t trust me, that I was a double agent. It hurt sure, but I couldn’t blame them. Who would genuinely believe that an ex-convict would want to play hero to the world? That doesn’t make their words sting any less though. Wanda wasn’t always the good girl, and neither was Nat. Bucky was one of me for gods sake. The constant bitter phrases and venomous speeches filled my life. If I got hurt on a mission, I am convinced they’d just leave me.
“Great, they’ve already zoned out.” Bucky’s voice pulled me back into reality.
Truth is, this mission was kind of scaring me. They keep calling it a simple deal, but there’s too much history there for me. What if one of the agents walking around recognise me? Would they kill me? Or would they drag me back into that lifestyle? I don’t want any part of that, and I sure as hell am working everyday to repay the world for what I did against it.
“We’re here. Get ready.”
Wanda arose from the seat beside me, giving me one glance over before stationing herself behind the doors. Same with Natasha. And Cap, Tony, Bucky, Sam and Clint.
I sighed and stood, slowly pacing my way over to them. I shut my eyes and inhaled lightly, exhaled lightly. Just like Ma taught me.
The shudder of the doors opening reminded me to extra care of myself on this mission, stay in cover and do as I’m told. I’ve resigned myself to doing that every mission though. A part of me hopes that if I just let them control everything and make the rules, well then, maybe they’d start to warm up to the idea of me.
I felt Clint grab on to my arm as he tugged me towards some boulders sat just by the entrance. I allowed myself to be pulled along and crouched low to avoid being detected. We sat in silence together, I kept my eyes trained on the scene playing out before me. I watched as the others killed people quickly and quietly, and as Nat made her way to the door of the building and opened it, ready to kill any onlookers they may have missed. I felt Clint’s eyes place on to me a few times, either from concern or disgust, I’m not too sure, and I’d rather not know.
It was time. I stood from our cover and let Clint lead the way to the door. Nat offered him a small smile as he went inside, and instantly dropped it when she saw me.
Ouch.
‘Don’t let it get to you.’ I could hear my mother’s voice in my head. It chanted like it was some mantra until I found myself following what it was saying.
The inside of the building wasn’t that much different to the outside. It was bleak, grey and was a hub of sadness if anything. Clint was four steps ahead of me, and didn’t so much as turn around to see if I was even there. Part of me thinks he wouldn’t even question my disappearance, that he just expected me to turn double agent real quick and not look back.
We found the room quickly. It wasn’t hard to locate, nor was it well secured. Typical of HYDRA. They focused their resources in the wrong places. The metal door was heavy and rusted, turning into more of a bronze colouring. It was unlocked and made a loud ‘clank’ as we opened it.
I internally cringed as the sound rang through the empty hallways. The noise was starkly contrasted when a deafening silence fell upon us. Then the footsteps came running. One pair, two pairs, several pairs of people could be heard nearing us. And as if to mock us even further, a blaring alarm played out suddenly. If this wasn’t a serious situation, it possibly would of been funny.
The archer grabbed me by the wrist and quickly tugged us into the dark room, and we found solace behind a cabinet. It wasn’t long before the door to the enclosed space opened again, and from the corner of my eyes I could see the shine of flashlights reflecting against the silver panels of the area.
“раскрыть себя (reveal yourselves).”
I shuddered at the sound of Russian. It reminded me all too well of my past, a past I’m far from proud of. The footsteps paced around the room some more, before the flashlights turned off.
“все чисто (all clear).”
Slowly, the resonating footsteps got further and further away. I knew better than that though. There is at least two men still in this room, I know HYDRA like the back of my hand. ‘Sad that they haven’t changed their ways after all these years’, and god I need to stop thinking serious situations are funny.
Before I could garner my attention back to Clint, his grasp on me lessened and though I tried stop him, he moved into plain sight.
Silence.
I held my breath and prepared for what came next, it was inevitable.
I heard Clint sigh, “Shit.”
“Ah Mr Barton, рад встрече (nice to meet you).”
A gruff Russian accent coated the man’s words, the tension in the air was thick and surrounded the room. I watched as Hawkeye slowly reached back for an arrow, setting it into his bow. I felt helpless, I couldn’t blow my cover just yet, and Clint is way too egotistical to ask for help. But still, I know this is not going to end well for him, no matter how skilled he is, he is way too outnumbered. He just doesn’t know it yet.
Ping.
The sound of a sleek, metal point hitting its bullseye in the shape of a man’s head. And lord, Clint has just brought war upon himself.
Before he could reload, or I could pull out my weapon, I heard as the door slammed open and more agents rushed in. Curse the archer for thinking he always knows best.
Gunshots resonated throughout the building, and one could only pray the others could hear it. A hand reached up to my ear piece quickly, and I pressed on it.
“Guys! Backup plea-Clint!”
I watched in horror as he dropped to the floor with a vast array of gunshot wounds taken nest on his shoulders, stomach, torso and just below his heart.
Grabbing my gun from my holster, I left cover and finished off the final three men in the room. I looked around the floor, and fair dues to Barton, he had managed to take out a fair few of them. A groan articulated from beside me and I dropped to my knees in concern. I knew I didn’t have long before more HYDRA officials found their way here and could just hope that the rest of the team would come bursting through the door.
“Clint! Clint, look at me ok? You need to stay still, I’m going to heal you, don’t move.”
My words were shaky and unstable, I don’t know if he could even understand me. But even if I was speaking properly, this man is at deaths door and words wouldn’t be comprehensible anyway. My hands rested comfortably above Clint, a small gap allowing for the particles to flow out of my hands and over his body. I worked silently, even when the door slammed open. One, two, three, four…there was at least fifteen gunshots covering him. I don’t know how far my healing ability can cope with this. I had only ever used it on myself, it was simple trick that was injected into me by HYDRA to ensure they could keep sending me out on mission after mission.
I didn’t dare move even when I heard shouts of Russian around me, or shots being fired into me, all that mattered was making sure his family had their husband and dad in one piece. I watched as his wounds slowly covered over, and as the bleeding came to a stop. My hands didn’t leave him until I knew for sure that every little mark on him was healed.
Pain pricked into me, it was didn’t hurt that much yet it made me scream. I looked up in horror and was met by the rest of the team. It felt like everything was in slow motion now. My head felt woozy and light.
‘Huh, so at least I know I can heal a pretty much dead man’. Not now brain…not now.
My eyes fluttered open and shut like a butterfly, the voices of the team were drained and quiet and my vision was blurry.
The sound of me dropping to the floor.
•/\•
Beep.
“She’s waking up, get Bruce.” “She’s awake?” “Shut up, you’re being too loud.” “You shut up!”
Open door.
“Bucky, Sam. She does not need to hear loud noises right now of all times.”
“…sorry Bruce.”
Footsteps, shut door.
My senses slowly came back to me. I can hear my heart monitor. I can feel a blanket clad around my body. I can smell disinfectant, a aroma of cleanliness. I can taste the metallic tang of blood. I let my eyes open and instantly winced at the light compared to darkness of shut eyes.
“Oh! Sorry about that.” Bruce walked over to my bed and pushed the bright lamp that shone over me to face the wall.
“How are you feeling?”
“Like the devil tried finishing the job.”
He laughed in a geeky sort of way. I don’t mind Bruce. I’ve never met met somebody who contrasted their hero alias as much as him, but I guess that’s what made him more likeable. I saw him slightly tamper with the many wires attached to my hand. He must of felt my eyes on him,
“I’m just upping the morphine.”
“No need.” I allowed my hands to perch on top of my chest and focused my energy towards myself. Gradually, it felt like the ton of bricks was being lifted from my shoulders.
“That works too, I guess. Super cool by the way, the healing thing, wish I had that.”
The door crashed open again, this time the team came stumbling into the room.
“I said one at a time!” Natasha spoke up.
“Yeah, you just always got to be right dont you?”
“Stark, I will widow bite you.”
Wanda made her way over to me with a steaming bowl. It smelt amazing, and my stomach was absolutely begging for food. Not to mention the need to recharge my energy.
“It’s gulyas. My mama’s recipe. I’ve seen you eat it before so I just thought…”
“Thank you Wanda. It smells like home.” I leant forward to take the bowl from her.
“Should you be feeding yourself?” She asked as she moved the bowl away from me quickly.
“In case you hadn’t noticed, I can heal myself. I feel good as new. Just a little rough round the edges is all.” I joked light-heartedly.
The Sokovian looked doubtful as she passed it over to me, setting it gently on my side table and produced a spoon. By now, Bruce had managed to calm the others down, reminding them they were in a medical facility.
Clint awkwardly cleared his throat and captured the attention of everyone.
“I uh…just wanted to thank you for healing me. I thought that mission might of been my last so just..yeah..thanks.”
I smiled at him.
“Hey, it’s part of the job right? Protecting people. Nobody said it had to be just civilians.”
Steve lightly nudged Tony.
“My turn already?”
The others looked at him with annoyed glances.
“Ugh fine. Listen Nightingale, we just wanted to…apologise for how we treated you. You clearly have the teams best…interests at heart.”
Groans encompassed the space.
“Really Tony?” “You could of been slightly heartfelt!”
“What Tony is trying to say Y/N, is that we were unfair. Especially considering the fact that three of us were the same as you…technically four but Tony made weapons of destruction so I’d argue that’s worse.” Natasha cut in, looking towards me hopefully.
“Forgive us? Start afresh?”
I looked down in my lap. It felt weird hearing them say sorry. Or even having their attention full stop.
“I’m not going to lie and say I can just move on from this…it kinda hurt the way I was treated. It felt like when I was trying to finally put stuff right, I was just being shunned even more…”
“That was our fault. Completely.”
“But, I am willing to try. You guys seem cool when you’re nice.” I laughed quietly.
“Seem? Seem? I AM cool.”
“Tony, for fucks sake.”

Sonic and Shadow get into some sort of freak accident with the chaos emeralds and get sent to the future. Evidently, they haven't made it to Silver's future- things aren't apocalyptic nor are they high-tech enough to be the good future 200+ years on. So instead they cause shenanigans trying to get back to the present and end up getting hunted by GUN. Sonic's not too keen on chatting with them, but Shadow attempts to pull some rank and state that he at least was a GUN agent back in the day working with Team Dark.
The GUN soldiers get one look at him and give a nonverbal "oh shit" to each other. They're immediately treated much better and allowed to sit uncuffed inside of a normal car, where they're driven to GUN HQ. The soldiers are making not-so-subtle references to "the director" the entire time they're being led into the building and eventually they're put in a room with nothing else but a few chairs and a giant screen.
Sonic leans over to Shadow and whispers, "did you ever say that you wanted to, uh, work up the ranks?"
"I've thought about it." Shadow whispers back.
The screen flickers on and they both snap to attention. A red symbol appears.
"Remain seated for another three minutes and forty-two seconds," a deep, masculine voice emanates from a speaker.
They spend the first two minutes staring at each other and then the next minute and forty seconds or so convincing Sonic to stay in his seat. They're interrupted as the door opens.
And Omega walks in. His frame, though proud, is worn. It's easy to tell what's been repainted. His joints are stiffer, squeakier, and when he first activates his voice box, there's an audible pop.
"SHADOW. STATE YOUR PURPOSE."
"Could ask the same for you!" Sonic jumps in before Shadow can say anything. "What are you doing here?"
Omega rotates his optics to Sonic. But instead of chastising him, instead of expressing annoyance or even responding in any usual manner, Omega. . . pauses.
"Hello, Omega." Shadow says.
Omega looks at him. "IT IS GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN."
There's something about that sentence that causes his quills to stand on end. "What happened?"
"FURTHER DISCLOSURE WOULD THREATEN THE STABILITY OF THIS TIMELINE."
Sonic is able to recover for everyone. "Good to see you too, Omega! Now, as much fun as it is, we've gotta get back to our normal time."
"AFFIRMATIVE. MY SCIENCE DIVISION IS COLLECTING DATA AS WE SPEAK."
"Your guys, huh? I didn't take you to be the leader type!"
"NEITHER DID I." Omega replies. Then he looks at Shadow once more. "IT IS GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN."

Okay okay wait... I think I know what happened to Nureyev during What Lies Beyond. Not joking.
I’ve been relistening to this episode for a while, trying to figure out where the heck he went. He obviously didn’t escape on the Ruby 7 and we know since Tools of Rust that their other car was wrecked beyond use. So he HAD to still be on the Carte Blanche during the interrogations in part two. So where the heck did he go?
For a while, I’ve just been assuming that he hid in the walls somewhere, like Juno and Dark Matters also assume. But that doesn’t make any sense. We know tech exists that can let you scan for people in a single location (see: Stone Unturned). Dark Matters could have just scanned for some dude hiding in a wall somewhere, but they didn’t find him.
But then, in What Lies Beyond part two, I found the answer. And it hit me like a punch to the gut...
Buddy says she saw a Dark Matters agent putting on Agent G’s uniform after their death.
We all assumed that detail was just there to make Sasha’s Dark Matters sound messy, but what if it’s actually a Nureyev clue? What if that was Nureyev?! We know he has a knack for hiding in plain sight! And it’s not like it’s out of the realm of possibility for him, as he essentially did the same thing on New Kinshasa in Angel of Brahma, both when he and Mag took the guard uniforms AND when he pretended to be a corpse on the floor.
Hiding in plain sight. Just like Vespa hiding in the wall in Shadows on the Ship.
THAT’S where he went.
THAT’S why Dark Matters didn’t find him on the Carte Blanche.
And that’s also why Nureyev knew when AND how to rescue the crew from prison in Clean Break. He showed up there WITH DARK MATTERS.
He’s infiltrated them before. He could do it again.
...long story short, Kabert made a mistake by giving us another week to ruminate on the finale. I’m going conspiracy crazy over here.

Imperial Tech
just for the record, I have woken up from a dream where Tech was dressed up in the Armor of the Empire’s Inferno Squad. The armor was black and red. Tech’s Inferno Squad helmet came with a red visor. He commanded a large number of Natborn troopers alongside clones. Regardless of what conditioning he went through, he still cares for his brothers and Omega. This further has shown and proven to me that it is the basis of my newest AU Fic. Star Wars: Imperial Shadow! With all his brilliant exceptional mind, Tech will play the long game with the Empire just so he can make it vulnerable from the inside as long as he manages to act like a stone cold Imperial Loyalist!

I was watching the latest episodes of The Bad Batch, and I started thinking about the identity of the Shadow agent. If it isn’t Tech, who is it? I think it may be a clone we are familiar with, and his reveal will bring pain and nostalgia. I noticed that during one scene focusing of the Shadow, the first notes of the 501st anthem started playing. Perhaps this clone was part of the 501st? I then came to a realization. Which clone from the 501st was never truly confirmed dead? Which clone from the 501st was obsessed with loyalty? The answer: Dogma. It would make sense. He was loyal to Krell, even when he knew Krell’s plans were causing more harm than good. Yes, he killed Krell in the end. But would that completely erase his ideals of loyalty? He was never confirmed to be killed. He could have been taken back to Kamino, and we know the Kaminoans hate mistakes. They might have tried to “fix” him. If he was still alive when the Empire took over and saw an opportunity to use his undying loyalty, they could have taken him to Hemlock. If the Shadow is revealed to be Dogma, it would have a more emotional effect for the viewers than if it was a clone we didn’t know. It would also be more damaging to the other clones, especially Rex, who believed he failed Dogma. Rex is still haunted by Umbara, and Dogma would be a grim reminder. It could also be what finally breaks Rex and causes him to go into exile on Seelos with Gregor and Wolffe.

more rogue nation physicality obsessing before i sleep
Tumblr media
i would murder to get my hands on benji's e-ink laptop from this scene. its AMAZING. i would use it for everything. say goodbye to eye strain forever, holy shit.
Tumblr media
every fleeting glimpse of Ilsa is great. ALSO ITS A SMALL THING BUT ITS HUGE TO ME: i love that under her flowy, beautiful golden dress she has like this fitted black shorts thing? because yes that makes perfect sense, if anything ever happened to the dress, she could ditch it and have something easy to move in underneath ready to go.
Tumblr media
sorry i just think this shot is stunning, the dramatic shadows of ethan and the assassin in the foreground, the colors and lights, love it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay like its hilarious when TC is short BUT what i love about this fight scene is that it's not a one-off joke. the guy's stature is a very big problem for Ethan. he completely no-sells the kick to center mass Ethan gives him, he doesn't stagger in the way Ethan keeps trying to do, and Ethan has no leverage on this guy. it really takes Ethan's usual combat style and causes problems.
Tumblr media
the spinning around in unison is so funny
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the amount of effort this ONE GUY takes lmao, i love it. i love when Ethan gets the shit kicked out of him! i love that Ethan (and Ilsa and others) have a Specific Fighting Style and that informs how they handle situations. There are rules to how they move and those rules are consistent.
Tumblr media
ALSO I LOVE THE FACT THAT SOLOMON IS AT TURNADOT and if Benji didn't have to run to the lighting booth, he would have found him eventually. goddamn fucking Lane.
Tumblr media
shout out to benji getting throw bodily into a wall too and how real it feels. AGAIN, spoke about this before, but Luther and Benji are both tech people but Benji is a field agent where Luther is an eye in the sky or mission control. Benji doesn't hesitate to throw himself into the fray and I love that repeated note.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ilsa locks eyes with Benji and congrats Ilsa, you are now doomed to care about this fluffy lil man for the rest of the franchise. Ethan imprints on everyone and Benji gets everyone to imprint on him. Key and lock. ten out of ten.

Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau X Teen victim reader
Request!
Summary: Y/N is kidnapped by an Unsub, but the BAU is right behind them.
Third person pov...
Sirens from numerous police cars chase a grey BMW through the streets of Toronto, At the wheel was Barry Seymour he had been convicted of kidnapping and murdering 6 young teens.
When the FBI figured out it was him he was already on the road with a new victim in the trunk of his car, the victim was Y/N L/N they are 14 years old and very scared.
Flash back to A Couple hours ago...
The 14 year old was walking home from the park after hanging out with friends, as they were walking Barry grabbed them and threw the teen into the back of his trunk.
The teens head hits the top of the trunk knocking them out for a couple of seconds, when they woke up they started panicking. "oh no oh no" they whisper trying not to hyperventilate instead the teen starts kicking at the trunk making noise.
"let me out arsehole!" yells the teen kicking at the trunk, Barry rolls his eyes and continues to drive he ends up turning the radio up to not hear the teen kicking the car. "stupid brat" he grumbles before pulling his hat further down his head.
Y/N sighs angerly before they stop kicking, then they reach for their pocket. "yes the arsehole forgot to check" they exclaim the teen still had their phone, then they see it only had 10% left "of course" sighs the teen.
The teen was suddenly grateful to their parents who made the teen memorise the number for the FBI hotline. Y/N quickly types it in and holds it up to their ear. "hello this is the FBI hotline" comes a female voice.
"oh thank god, please help me im Y/N L/N and ive been kidnapped by the Unsub im in the trunk please save me!" they exclaim before their phones battery runs out. The 14 year old cries and waits for help to come.
At the police station the BAU team have sent out an apb for Barry Seymours grey BMW. As JJ is walking she get stopped by an officer.
"Agent we got a call from someone claiming to be Kidnapped by the Unsub" she says JJ nods and heads to the room where the team is.
"Hey guys we've got a hit on the Hotline" she says making the team look up as she plays the recording of the call. They are socked to here a young scared voice answer.
The perosn seemed alot younger than the first victims. "hello this is the FBI hotline" comes a female voice then a young voice answes "oh thank god, please help me im Y/N L/N and ive been kidnapped by the Unsub im in the trunk please save me!" Then it goes silent.
JJ shuts it off a grim look on her face. Then Penelope calls. "Hey Penelope you have something?" Questions Reid
"Yes my loveliess i do, we jsut got a hit on the Unsubs car" says the tech analysis. "Thank you Garcia, JJ you come with us" say Hotch standing up he already know Penelope sent them the coordinates.
End of flashback...
Currently The Unsub has both the Police and FBI on his tail and he wasn't planning on stopping yet, he was currently on a motor way he was almost out of Toronto.
Back in the trunk Y/N was trying to kick their way out, their head felt all fuzzy, but they couldn't fall asleep they had to stay awake.
"Can't sleep, have to stay awake have to survive" they mutter suddenly they are sent flying forward and end up face painting against the roof of the trunk.
"He's stopped!" They mutter to scared to move, the teen tries hard to listen but can't hear anything. Then gunshots and sirens are heard.
Y/Ns to scared to move, seconds tick by before the trunk opens and a tourch is shone right at the teen.
Y/N sees the shadow of a man, thinking its the Unsub they back aways terrified, when he tries to move forward Y/N kicks out at him. "Stay away! Please leave me alone, no!" They scream and beg.
Hearing the teen screaming Hotch sends JJ over hopefully seeing a woman would help them. Y/N jsut about calmed down when the man left.
JJ gives a smile to Derek as he passes her, she wonders up to the trunk where the scared teen lays.
The bump of their head still making their brain foggy, once the torch wasn't shining in their eyes the teen relaxed.
As they sit up slowly in the trunk a woman appears she was blonde with blue eyes, JJ sees the teens eyes widened.
Before they can panic she holds out her badge. "Hey hey sweetie don't panic I'm FBI, I'm an agent I'm here to help you" she says gently.
Y/N freezes leg pulled in ready to kick put again, they look wearly up at the Agent and at her badge. She had a kind smile on her face.
Y/N looks at the badge and at the woman before finally collapsing in a fit of sobs. "I'm sorry I was scared, I th-thought he was coming to get me" cried the teen, JJs heart aches for the teen.
They didn't mean to kick out at first they were just a scares kid who was kidnapped but a dangerous killer. JJ reaches out to the child and they let her.
She then pulls them up and out of the trunk the child holds onto her tightly not letting go, Y/N jsut continues to cry until they are sat in am ambulance to be looked at.
Once they were checked over they still didn't let go off JJ, but she didn't mind she was glad they managed to save the teen from being killed.
The end!
Hope you liked this oneshot sorry for it not being long, also sorry for grammar and spelling mistakes.
Request are open!

a compilation of overcomplicated hypothetical future IEYTD installments that i would kill to be canon
ft various spoilers for all three of the current non-hypothetical installments also ft really bad names for them in order to keep the list organized
I Expect You To Die; Once Burned, Twice Shy
During one of their usual heists against one of Zoraxis' latest schemes, Phoenix finds themself caught in what turns out to have been an orchestrated trap from the start. Not only is Zoraxis unscathed from the agent's attempt to stop their plans, but in the process, they find a way to pin their escape/the damage left behind on Phoenix in a catastrophic way, severing the Agency's trust in them and their handler.
Time after time again, Zoraxis have underestimated the Agent, but by separating the biggest thorn in their side from their main source of intelligence, power, and even locomotion, what can they possibly do to stop them from tearing down the rest of the Agency? And how is the Agency supposed to stop them without their star pupil turned 'traitor'?
Left with nothing aside from the guidance of their handler and their own sharp intuition- devoid of the Agency's tools or assistance- Phoenix needs to prove to Zoraxis and everyone else that they're more than just the tools the Agency lets them wield.
The 'gimmick' of this plot is kind of meant to be a parallel to what happened with Zoraxis at the end of the sequel. That being losing their trust with the rest of the world, and being forced to work in the shadows as opposed to hiding in plain sight. Because of this, a variation of this plot could be Zoraxis framing the entire Agency, instead of just Phoenix, forcing all of them to work and exist under the radar until they can clear their names. I just think the Phoenix specific plot is more entertaining, and made more personal by focusing on the protagonist.
I Expect You To Die; Pick Your Poison
The Fabricator probably has the most untapped potential and implied history with the Agency aside from Zor themself. While to me it feels like she's such an important character any plot that focuses on her would be a very late-game element, I can definitely see her serving as the 'main' antagonist of her own entry to the series.
The Agency- despite knowing the location of at least one of the Fabricator's workshops, are too intimidated by her lethality and talent to consider sending any more Agents to apprehend or face off against her. Behind Zor themself, they've gone on to list her in her dossier as the most lethal mind in Zoraxis' sprawling arsenal.
The Fabricator already has a bit of a vendetta against the agent, if not for the damage done to her workshop, then for the damage done to Zor's schemes, and by association, all of the tech she engineered for them.
There is also the point to consider that the Fabricator is in a very interesting place, for an antagonist position. Knowledgeable enough to know what happens to disappointing Zoraxis operatives- the cause of Juniper's death, almost Prism's, and who knows who else's- and yet… she seems more or less unbothered to remain by their side despite. The Agency wanting to get the Fabricator out of Zor's hands partnered with her seemingly deep running loyalty has very interesting implications for a betrayal arc of sorts.
I Expect You To Die; Reach for the Sky
Solaris is another character that has been brought up again and again in various ways, implying relevance- or at least, future relevance- to the series. While it would make perfect sense for her to accompany a Fabricator-focused installment, there's an equal probability for her to get something to herself.
Solaris- while perhaps not considered as dangerous as the Fabricator- is on par with her in terms of intelligence, and the Death Engine is still considered by the Agency to be one of the most powerful weapons to scourge humanity (as opposed to exclusively agents, as something like project KBOOM would have been).
While her loyalties to Zoraxis were obviously shaky even during her first appearance, Solaris is very self driven, and just because she may have broken ties with Zoraxis* doesn't mean she's completely out of the picture. As one of the Fabricator's tapes in Eaves Drop would suggest, Solaris still holds a grudge on the agent that destroyed her life's work. It isn't out of the question to consider that she would try to seek out her revenge, even on her own terms.
It's interesting to consider an arc that separates on competing with Zoraxis, rather than against them. Maybe- despite severing alliances with them- Solaris' tech is still of interest to Zor, which gets them involved the spat by proxy. Or maybe Zor- much like what they did when Anna intended to defect- is sending out a couple of operatives to take care of their newest loose end, with Phoenix finding themself caught in the crossfire.
*It is also possible that Solaris' 'defecting' from Zoraxis may have been a hoax or an effort to save face, with her being publicly tied to a newly exposed homicidal company. While somewhat unlikely, were this the case I don't think much about this hypothetical plot would change, save for Zoraxis being more of a main player (as they usually are) as opposed to a background threat.
I Expect You To Die; Playing With Fire
Vitti will almost certainly be given a mainstage role in a future installment, though with so little known about her, it's difficult to place how or where she'll show up. We know she used to be a field agent (maybe even Reginald's agent, when we consider that he used to hold the title of 'lead handler' at the same time she was 'lead agent'), and that she either had or gained ties to Zoraxis that may have lead to her erasure from Agency history. She also has the best case argument for being the Phantom, implying an interest in the Phoenix, as well as their survival.
To me, she's the perfect case for a betrayal/eluding-to-betrayal style arc without dipping into mind control. With the Agency being a dubiously-moral force as it stands, Vitti seems the perfect character to at least raise the potential that the Agency isn't really as good as they project themselves to be… and that the Phoenix isn't as safe with them as they'd like to think they are.
Maybe the two of them communicate off radar- Phoenix chasing after Zoraxis' tail while Vitti watches from the sidelines- breaching their coms to say her piece… Maybe the handler gives a piece of advice that Vitti contradicts, with her's being the safer option… Quietly worming the idea into the agent's head that even their own handler may not always have their best interest in mind… Whether or not there's any member of the Agency they can actually trust.
At the end of the day, Zor wants to tear apart every last facet of the Agency. But, they have a rival's fondness for the Phoenix… If they join Zoraxis, they'll be spared. They'll survive. If they stay with the Agency, they'll inevitably burn with the rest of them. She made her choice a long time ago… and she expects the agent to choose correctly.
I Expect You To Die; World in Your Hands
I don't care if it isn't likely I would do ANYTHING for a mind control arc (or something similar, at least), where we play as a Phoenix who- one way or another- has become a Zoraxis operative. It doesn't need to make sense while it happens because it would be fun as shit.
It isn't as if Phoenix still doesn't get to leave a trail of fiery destruction in their wake, it just isn't to the detriment of Zor this go around… Instead of the handler in your ear (🙁 no jared mason…) you can have one of the Zoraxis Operatives- either a new one, or a rotating cast of old ones (😊 yay mela lee). The souvenirs you bring back being exceedingly dangerous contraptions, explosives, prototype weaponry, and of course, many, many Zoraxis brand foodstuffs of varying degrees of quality. AND it would give Schell an excuse to bring back things like genuine gun combat from the first game.
And you get to be evil. Which literally who doesn't want to be evil?? Hello? We can get an epic evil cinematic intro and everything? An encounter with the handler where his voice shakes in genuine fear- for his life, for who his agent has become, for what Zor has done to them- HELLO??

Synopsis
Arriving on the almost impossibly ancient planet of Hyspero, a world where magic and danger walk hand in hand, the Doctor and Sam are caught up in a bizarre struggle for survival.
Hyspero has been ruled for thousands of years by the Scarlet Empresses, creatures of dangerous powers — powers that a member of the Doctor's own race is keen to possess herself: the eccentric time traveller and philanderer known only as Iris Wildthyme.
As the real reasons for Iris's obsession become clear, the Doctor and Sam must embark on a perilous journey across deserts, mountains, forests and oceans. Both friends and foes are found among spirits, djinns, alligator men and golden bears — but in a land where the magical is possible, is anything really as it seems?

Unnatural History
Synopsis
"They called it the Millennium Effect", said the Doctor. "But the millennium was only beginning."
San Francisco has changed since the start of 2000. The laws of physics keep having acid flashbacks. There are sightings of creatures from outside our dimensions, stranded aliens and surrealist street performers. The city has become a mecca for those who revel in impossible creatures — and those who want to see them pinned down and put away.
Sam's past is catching up with her — a past she didn't know she had. The Doctor is in danger of becoming the pièce de résistance in a twisted collection of creatures. And beneath the waters of the Bay, something huge is waiting.
With time running out, the Doctor must choose which to sacrifice — a city of wonders, or the life of an old and dear friend.

You too want to read a full novel explanation of why Dr Who canon is Like That (hint: it's little assholes who opt to look like 10 year olds wearing skull masks). Also unicorns in San Francisco. Unsurprisingly does feature Fitz being astoundingly gay for 8. (@eighthdoctor )
The villain of the week wants the Doctor to have a consistent backstory. This is bad because it’s not Doctor Who without plotholes and inconsistencies. Plus, it was published in 1999 (?) and there’s a line about how Gallifrey is always destroyed and un-destroyed. They didn’t even know… (anonymous)
Interference
Synopsis
Five years ago, Sam Jones was just a schoolgirl from Shoreditch. Of course, that was before she met up with the Doctor and found out that her entire life had been stage-managed by a time-travelling voodoo cult. Funny how things turn out, isn't it?
Now Sam's back in her own time, fighting the good fight in a world of political treachery, international subterfuge, and good old-fashioned depravity. But she's about to learn the first great truth of the universe: that however corrupt and amoral your own race might be, there's always someone in the galaxy who can make you look like a beginner.
Ms Jones has just become a minor player in a million-year-old power struggle... and as it happens, so has the Doctor.
Both of him, actually.
Propaganda
Father Kreiner war crimes because they are so in love with the Doctor and so depressed they want to die Romeo and Juliet style. Oh and it is the superior third Doctor regeneration story. (Anastasia Cousins)

DickTim Week Day 6: Slade’s Apprentice Meets Ra’s Heir
Rating: Explicit, word count 8483, no archive warnings would apply. It is omegaverse though. A lot of characters get to make an appearance in this one. Hope you all like it!
@dicktimweek
Dick had a handle on things. Or, well, he at least felt like he did… He would…God he hoped he was doing the right thing. Tim had left though, Dick needed the omega and he left. Gotham needs Batman, and Dick was the only one who could fulfill that role. He was the only one of Bruce’s sons who could step into the suit and god is he didn’t hate that that was the truth. Dick looked over at Damian before nodding.
“Robin, that’s enough for tonight. Go back to the cave and I’ll be there soon.”
Damian stared at him for a moment and then that look of disgust came over his face. “You’re going to look for the pretender again aren’t you?”
Dick grit his teeth and took in a deep breath. “I’m going to see what progress Oracle has made in tracking him down, yes.” Damian went to speak again but Dick held up a hand. “Robin, you will return to the cave. I don’t want to hear anything more on the topic.”
Damian held his stare for a moment and Dick knew that if he could see through the whiteouts he would see Damian’s eyes lit up like fire. Finally the teenager nodded and ran off.
Dick reached up and pressed the button on his com. “Agent A, I’m sending Robin home. If he’s not back in the next twenty minutes please inform me.”
“Roger that Batman.”
Dick let out a sigh and then started his way to the clock tower. He wanted to see how Babs was doing, and he actually did have a small bit of hope that maybe she had found some trail of Tim.
He landed on top of the tower and waved at the camera that she had set up next to the bat entrance. It took less than five seconds for her to open the hatch, but it was enough time for him to worry that she wasn’t going to let him in.
“What do you need Batman?” She asked as he landed behind her.
“How are you doing?” He asked softly.
“I’m fine.” She won’t look at him and he knows why. He knows that she is angry, but god it hurts.
“Babs, I-” He tries to talk to her, but then she turns her head and looks at him.
“Don’t. I have the birds looking for clues, but no one has seen him. If Tim doesn’t want to be found then he won’t be.” She looks back at her setup and sighs. “He’s good, and if he needed help he would reach out. If he accesses any of the bat tech then I’ll know, but he’s gone to ground. Maybe this is a good thing, maybe he’s out.”
Dick hangs his head and squeezes his hands tight. “You know that he isn’t. He’s out there somewhere, and I honestly don’t know that he will reach out. Cassie hasn’t seen him, Steph can’t track him, he hasn’t called or written…”
Babs kept typing for a moment while Dick stood there hoping she would say something else. “If you keep that up then the scent blockers are going to fail you before you get back to the cave. Gotham still thinks Batman is a beta.” Her cutting tone was harsh, but it snapped him out of his head.
“I’ll head home.” Dick gave in.
“Be safe out there Batman,” Babs called out to him and Dick waved at her before leaving the tower the same way he came in.
Dick ran his hand over the cowl and glared, he hated this stupid suit. Dick started his way back to where the batmobile was stashed in an alley. He kept an ear out for anything that was happening, but it was starting to crest into morning and crime had slipped back into the shadows for the day. Dick made it to the car and then stopped short. Because there was a bright red note on the windshield, and the tires were stacked next to the car with a tire iron sitting on top.
“HOOD!” Dick screamed.
He smelled the other alpha before he stepped out of the shadows. “Might want to get it together fast. Sun’s comin’ up in little over an hour,'' Jason snarked at him through the voice modulator.
Dick launched himself at Jason and tried to strike fast. “What the hell?”
Jason easily sidestepped his strikes and danced further into the alley. “Needed your attention,” Dick growled loudly and Jason just laughed. “Oh, is the big bad bat playin’ at bein’ an alpha?”
Dick sneered at him. “Don’t make me bite you.”
“Cool it, golden boy, I have information.” Jason struck out and Dick had to back up to avoid the fist.
“What is it?” Dick demanded.
“Deathstroke,” Jason responded. “He left a message with me.” Jason nodded to the car. “Don’t know what it says, but he paid me good to give it to you.”
Dick pulled back and turned to look at the letter. “Why not just drop it off?”
Jason shrugged. “Because he told me that he’d know when you read it, and that if you didn’t then he’d make my life miserable.”
Dick glared at the paper as though he could make it disappear.
“What does orange and black want with you?” Jason asked.
“Nothing good,” Dick muttered.
“Well, read it, yeah? I’ll put the tires back.” Jason walked over to the tires to start the process.
Dick walked over to the letter and picked it up carefully. He didn’t know what Slade wanted, but he knew whatever it was, it was gonna be bad. He looked at Jason and stepped into the alley so that he wasn’t too close in case there was poison or something inside the envelope. Turning it over he saw there was nothing on the outside, and the seal was just the normal glue seal that envelopes came with. With shaking fingers, he grabbed a Batarang from his belt and sliced open the envelope. No puff of smoke, but he could smell that Slade had scented the paper. He pulled out the letter and unfolded it.
Renegade,
I know whom you seek, and better yet, I know where the wayward Robin is. You know what I want, you know I can deliver, and you know that this is how it will always end. Come back to me, and I will help you get your omega back.
-Deathstroke
Dick held his breath. No one knew Tim’s dynamic, not even Bruce knew that Tim was an omega, hell even in her brainwashing of Jason, Talia had never known that Tim was an omega. Damian only found out because when Tim left he had left the cave filled with the scent of an omega in distress. Dick assumed that Alfred knew, but nothing made it past the eyes of him. He looked over at Jason, did he know? Did Babs? He took a moment to wonder if Kon or Bart knew before…
“So, anything interesting?” Jason asked from where he was putting the second tire back on.
“Just more of the same old same old.” Dick lied. “He wants to meet with me, I’m not going to give him the satisfaction.”
Jason studied him and then turned back to the tire with a small hum. “Any word on the replacement?”
Dick shook his head. “Not yet.”
“He’s still out there, Oracle will find him.” Jason walked over to grab the third tire and then tilted his head. “What?”
Dick shook his head and swallowed back his instincts. “Just worried about him, he’s been no contact since Steph.”
Jason stared at him for another moment. “Take my bike and go home. I’ll bring the car back.”
Dick gave a small smile. “Thanks Little Wing.”
“Whatever, just give me your keys.” Jason tossed his bike keys at Dick and Dick tossed back the keys to the batmobile.
He made the trip back as fast as he could. Damian was most likely waiting up for him, and he needed to get him to bed before the pup fell asleep in the cave again. He let himself pull on his bond with Tim just once, hoping that maybe the omega would respond this time, but like every other attempt Dick was met with a wall of nothing. Tim’s bond was still there though, so he was still alive, and for now, that was all Dick could know. Tim’s silence was hard, but he had survived so much, and he would come home… probably.
---
Tim could admit that maybe his plans were not always the most thought out. Lying in the dessert bleeding out next to the only remaining member of his team he could see how this could have gone a little differently.
“B-b-b,” Pru tried to talk but Tim just shook his head.
“Not dead yet,” he gasped out. “I’m gonna get us out of here.”
He slowly turned on his side and clicked the emergency beacon that Ra’s hadn’t taken from him. There was a slim chance that he’d make it back to the hotel for the drop, but maybe Dick would come for him. Curling up in a ball for just two seconds he allowed himself to close his eyes and imagine the alpha scruffing him and telling him it was all going to be okay. “Get up,” he hissed at himself.
He pulled a pressure bandage from his bandolier and applied it to the hole in his side. It wouldn’t do much about the blood loss he was already suffering, but maybe it would at least keep him alive long enough to get Pru safe.
He stumbled into the motel room and laid Pru on the bed. “I’ll contact the league, it’ll be okay.”
One moment he was holding the radio and the next he was kneeling on the floor trying not to throw up. Taking in a deep breath and clenching his eyes shut he kept himself together. Tim reached out to the radio and flipped it on. “We’ve been attacked. Two losses, myself and one asset are back at base.”
If a reply came Tim wouldn’t have known. The last thing he heard before passing out due to blood loss was footsteps and a deep voice.
“Finally caught you little bird.”
---
Tim woke up in a room that was glowing. Shit. He rolled away from the source of the light and stood up to see that he was indeed in the Lazarus room. His fingers itched to grab a weapon but he was in a loose gown without anything on him.
“Ah, Detective, you’re finally awake.” Ra’s sauntered toward him from the side of the room. “I was beginning to worry that we would have to throw you in the pit after all.”
Tim grasped at that information and reached for his side to feel where the stab wound was.
“Fickle things stab wounds, yours wouldn’t stop bleeding so we had to remove your spleen. The stitches will come out in a few days and you’ll be back to finding the Bat.” Ra’s was within arm's distance now.
Tim cleared his throat. “What about-”
Ra’s held up a hand. “You’ll have very few questions when I am done, I’d save them.”
Tim glared but held his tongue. If there was one thing he was good at it was getting adults to not lash out at him.
“Prudence was brought back with you, her failure in keeping her team together will be punished after her own healing is done. The man who brought you here let slip a beautiful nugget of information that was quickly confirmed. I believe you know Ms. Fox? Or at least her father?”
Tim went cold. Tam Fox was a good person who as of yet hadn’t really been wrapped up into the whole Batman thing. If she was here…
“You’ll be escorted back to your chambers and she is there waiting for you.” Ra’s continued shattering Tim’s hold on himself. He was endangering a civilian. “I have a proposal for you, one that I believe you will be interested in this time. But, before I tell you I think you may want that reunion first. You’ll have time to ask your questions later.”
“Ra’s-”
He held up a hand and Tim fell silent as the doors opened and a few assassins came into the room. They surrounded Tim and Ra’s made his exit before he had another chance to talk.
“Come with us, detective.” One of the assassins turned and started to lead him down the hallways.
He couldn’t decide what was the worse reason for being escorted through the compound. Because on the one hand, were they afraid he would get lost because he didn’t know his way around? Or was it because he was a threat and Ra’s wanted him observed closely even while in his sanctuary… either option was a bad one.
He stepped into the room that Ra’s had been keeping him in while he was here and stood by the door when the scent of angry scared beta came over him.
“Stay right there.” Tam hissed from the bedroom. “I’ll come out there.”
Tim stayed still and waited, attempting to control his scent like Pru had been teaching him to do since blockers weren’t allowed to be worn within the compound. “Tam, it’s Tim.”
The sudden movement into the room by the beta woman was a lot and Tim acted on instinct to avoid her.
“You idiot! Why are you out here? Why haven’t you reached out! What are you doing!” Tam yelled at him.
“Back up, why are you here Tam?” He asked softly.
“My father sent me, we need you back at WE. Things are going back and Dick isn’t handling anything well with having so much on his plate. We need you back so you can help.” She went for the logic route and Tim couldn’t hold back the half growl.
“He’ll be fine. He has the rest of them, and I’m needed here. Besides, I’m almost done.” Tim had the last bit of evidence he needed to prove to the JL that Bruce was out there. “All I need to do is to get Ra’s to deal.”
“Drake, you’re an idiot if you think he’s gonna let you leave here.” Tam sat down at the coffee table and glared at him. “He’s taken me hostage so that you can’t, and you know it.”
Tim nodded sadly. “Yeah, yeah I know.”
---
Three days. That’s how long Ra’s gave him before summoning Tim to his inner sanctuary again.
“Detective,” Ra’s greeted him.
“Ra’s,” Tim responded, refusing to bow to the insane man and give him any semblance of submission.
“Timothy, you know that there was a time that I sought out the Bat as my heir.” Ra’s started in.
“And put his son on the path to kill me, yeah, I remember.” Tim snarked. “What’s the point here?”
“I have a proposal for you. I want you to be my heir, I want you to carry on the league and lead it into a new era.” Ra’s smiled at him. “It would be so simple, for you to take over the league would take very little.”
“Be your heir? Or bear your heir?” Tim felt the need to clarify before anything more came of this conversation.
Ra’s laughed. “Detective, not to offend, but I am an old man and it has been a long time since I have kept up with another Omega, the league can only be headed by someone with a strong mind, holding onto the bonds of loyalty for all of the league members is something you will need to be trained into. It will be easier if you have a mate, but obviously, I have proven that with a strong enough mind you don’t have to have one.”
“What would I have to do?” Tim asked.
“Simple, give up the Bat’s way of thinking. Accept a bond from me so I can teach you the league’s ways better. Finally, if there comes a time that you wish to mate you would need to understand that you will be mating for the good of the league, love has very little to do with that.” Ra’s smiled at him. “You are already a trained fighter, you need only history lessons and the passing over of the league would be ready once I am ready to let go.”
“Can I think about it?” Tim asked quietly.
“I will expect your answer at dinner.” Ra’s agreed and then motioned for Tim to leave.
Tim started forming his plan as he was escorted back to his rooms. There was a way to get Bruce back to Gotham, and that’s what mattered really wasn’t it? That Bruce was Batman again, and that he was safe. Tam also needed to get home, and he now had something that the demon’s head wanted.
He walked into the room where Tam was writing something in the little journal she had been allowed to keep. “Listen, I’m gonna get you home. There’s just one thing I need you to do for me.”
She looked at him warily. “What?”
“I need you to tell Oracle that I’m dead, and I need you to give her this.” Tim walked over to his suit and fished the hidden flash drive out of it.
“What do you mean you’re dead?” Tam demanded. “Tim, what are you doing?”
Tim sighed. “Okay, I’m not dead dead, but I do need them to stop looking for me okay? Gotham needs Batman, and he needs to keep his head there and not go looking for the lost Robin. Hood came back, Oracle is established, and Nightwing chose the next Robin already. They don’t need me, they need to get Batman back, and they need to stay away where they’re safe.”
“I’m not telling your family that you’re dead,” Tam responded.
“They will get themselves killed coming after me if you don’t.” Tim glared. “Just trust me, please.”
Tam finally nodded. “Fine.”
---
Barbara was having a typical night, running coms from her clock tower, keeping her ear to the ground for any sign of Tim, and making sure that her boys didn’t do anything too stupid. So she was very taken aback when someone was waving at the camera hidden in the broom closet on the main level. She turned on the mic from that room to listen.
“-and I know you don’t really know me, but I have a message that I’m supposed to bring straight to you.”
“Who are you?” Barbara asked.
“My name is Tam Fox. He told me to say the birds only fly because the augury watches over them.”
Barbara hit the button to open the door to the hidden elevator before Tam even finished the code that Tim told her. It was an old joke of his that she was reading the skies by the trails of her birds so she was less oracle of delphi and more an augur.
Tam stepped into the room and Barbara looked her over. “Where is he?”
Tam nodded. “I have a line I’m supposed to say, but before any of that happens you need this. He told me that you’d be the only person who could decrypt it.” Tam handed her a flash drive and Barbara looked at it. It was one of hers that Tim had borrowed some case files on years ago.
“What’s on it?” She asked as she plugged it into a spare laptop that wasn’t connected to anything just in case it was corrupted.
Tam bit her lip and then nodded to herself. “Tim said it’s the proof he was looking for. He said if you use this you’ll find the real Batman.”
Barbara stilled for half a second and then started typing quickly to get the files off the drive. That idiot had done it. He actually found Bruce.
Tam fidgeted and Barbara looked up to see her playing with the bracelet on her wrist. “I-I think that Nightwing needs to be here to hear the rest of the message.”
Barbara studied her and then nodded. If Tim wanted them to know something he sent the right person. Tam was strong, she had her father’s strength. Barbara turned back to her computer and flipped on the line to Dick. He was on his regular route and nothing major had popped up so he could come here for a quick update. “Batman, you’re needed in the tower. Feel free to bring Robin-”
“No!” Tam interrupted her.
Barbara looked over and tilted her head.
“Trust me, please,” Tam whispered. “Oracle? Everything okay?” Dick asked in her ear.
“Nvm on that, I need you, let Robin patrol solo or send him home. Either way, you need to be here five minutes ago.” She nodded at Tam who relaxed a little.
“We’re kinda in the middle of patrol right now O.” Dick sounded conflicted.
“There’s someone here who’s spotted your wayward bird. They have a message for us from him.” Barbara responded.
“I’ll be there momentarily.” Dick’s response was curt and she knew that he was going to be angry.
Barbara set aside the laptop after seeing that Tim had everything organized the way he usually did and knew that she’d be able to get everything to whom it needed to go in the right order. “Can I offer you some tea?” She asked Tam.
Tam shook her head. “Actually, do you have a coke? Or something carbonated in general? I’ve had so much tea in the last month I’m not sure I can stand another glass for a while.”
Barbara laughed and motioned to the fridge in the corner. “Help yourself, will you grab me two bottles of water?”
Tam went over and grabbed the drinks and then Dick’s tracker showed him on the roof. “Incoming,” Barbara said as she wheeled over to accept the waters after having opened the trap door for Dick.
Dick landed in the room and looked around before zeroing in on Tam. “Where is he?”
“Hello Batman, how are you? Do you know Tam Fox?” Barbara interrupted.
Dick turned to glare for a second. “Oracle.”
“No, it’s okay.” Tam gave a sad smile and then gestured to the chair. “You might want to sit down.”
Barbara stilled her fingers on the laptop and saw that Dick was standing completely still for the first time in a long while. “Where is he?” She whispered out.
Tam steeled herself. “Tim’s exact words to me before I got out were. ‘Tell them I’m dead because there’s no way I’m breaking us both out of here alive. Not without compromising who I am.’ Then I was being led out of the compound as quickly as possible.”
“What compound?” Dick asked. “Where is Tim?”
“He’s with Ra’s Al Ghul.” Tam looked at them with a fire in her eyes. “And if it weren’t for my stupidity then he would probably be delivering that flash drive himself, but he isn’t. He wants you all to be here, he wants you to save Batman, and he wants you to let him go. Ra’s offered him a choice and he took it. If you care about him, if you ever cared about him, you’ll let him do this.”
Barbara winced when Dick let out a slightly hysterical laugh. “He told you to say that, didn’t he?”
Tam nodded at him. “Told me that it was the only way to get a group of stupid alphas to trust his judgment.”
The stunned Dick into standing still again and then he looked at Barbara. “Find Bruce, he’s gonna be the only one who can convince the little shit that self-sacrifice is an idiotic move.”
“Tim already found him.” She replied, having gone back to looking in the folders. “We need a time machine, but Bruce is located and will be okay. I’m calling Clark.”
Dick nodded at her. “I need to run. Ms. Fox, thank you for getting this information back to us.”
Before either of the women could say anything Dick was grappling out of the clock tower and Barbara just stared, wishing she could give him better news.
“Nothing ever happened between Nightwing and Tim did it?” Tam asked.
Barbara shook her head. “Not to my knowledge, besides, as far as I’m aware Nightwing is only into Omegas.”
Tam snapped her head to look at her and then just nodded in understanding. “Oh, I see.”
“I’m about to have a lot of company, you should leave the way you came in.” Barbara turned to look back at her system. “Seriously, thank you, you have no idea how much this means to all of us. If you ever need anything, get in touch.”
Tam gave a small smile and nod and then headed to the elevator. “Please, if you guys do get him to come home, tell him that I didn’t say a word more than he told me to.”
---
Two weeks, it took two weeks for Bruce to be back in the watchtower. Another week and a half to get him decontaminated so that he could come back to the cave, and a fourth week was spent letting him rest before Dick finally cornered him in his office.
“We have to go get Tim.” Dick opened with the only thing he cared about.
Bruce nodded like he had known that that’s what Dick was going to say. “I know he’s important-”
“He’s the only reason you came home, ‘important’ doesn’t begin to cover it.” Dick cut him off.
“Dick, I know. But he made his choice.” Bruce was talking to him like this was when one of the Titans left the team to quit the hero life.
“What are you saying?” Dick demanded.
“Tim has asked us not to come after him.” Bruce tried the gentle voice again and Dick growled.
“He is in an unknown situation, where he was keeping a civilian safe, he doesn’t need us to sit back and do nothing!” Dick clenched his fists and could feel his nails digging into his palms. “He didn’t give up on you-”
“Enough!” Bruce cut him off this time. “I’m not giving up on Tim. I’m respecting his final request. It’s likely he’s dead Dick, based on the message he sent to me with Tam he made an impossible choice, and if we go after him they will dunk him in the pit and hope for the best. He begged me not to come after him, told me he’d rather stay dead then be whatever twisted form that the pit would bring back.”
Dick held impossibly still not daring to even breathe. He took two seconds to try to control himself before turning and stalking out the door. “Fine! If you won’t go find him, I’ll find him myself!”
Damian scrambled out of his way as he stalked past. Dick knew that the pup would be upset, but he couldn’t think about that right now, his omega was out there in the hands of the demon himself and Dick needed him back.
Cass stepped in front of him when he reached the front door and held out a notebook in one hand and the keys to his bike in the other. “Find him, save him, come home.”
“I’ll do my best,” he whispered. “Watch out for Dami?”
Cass laughed and nodded. “Pack will still be standing when you get home. Rescue your omega.”
He accepted the items from her hands and pulled her into a hug. “Promise.”
His first stop was his apartment. He had a go-bag stashed there and there was only one more person to see and the easiest way to do that was to be suited up. He slipped into his apartment and then paused. There was a scent lingering in the room, one that he hadn’t been this close to in months. Dick rushed to his bedroom and changed as fast as possible. The other alpha clearly hadn’t been there in a few hours, but he had left his scent for a reason. Once he was suited up as Nightwing once more Dick grabbed his go-bag and slipped out the window. If he was going where he thought he was then he wouldn’t need the bike again for a long while.
Dick slipped his com in his ear and waited for Babs to contact him while he made his way in the direction of Crime Alley, he didn’t miss the fact that the other alpha’s scent was going the same direction.
“You’re being an idiot, but I get it. Bring him home yeah?” Babs’ voice came through the com unit.
“If no one will help then I need to do this on my own. I’ll do my best to bring him home.”
“Just don’t get dead yourself.” She responded. “I’m gonna scramble your unit. Take it with you and use it if you need extraction.”
“Love you too Oracle.” Dick smiled and then pulled the unit out of his ear. He placed it into a lead-lined container that Tim had given to him months before his disappearance.
“Yo! Golden child!” Jason’s voice came from his left and Dick stopped short to see him approach. “Daddy bats back up and moving?”
“He better be.” Dick nodded.
“You going after the wayward bird?” Jason asked seriously.
“Someone has to,” Dick smirked.
Jason nodded. “Get Deathstroke out of the alley before you leave yeah? He says he won’t leave until he talks to you and he’s makin’ my guys nervous.”
“Don’t worry Hood, I think he’ll be leaving real soon.” Dick smiled. “Keep them safe, yeah?”
“Don’t get mushy, just bring the bird home.” Jason rolled his eyes.
Dick nodded and then went back to tracking Slade’s scent through Gotham. He found him sitting at a little rooftop cafe near the alley and recognized some of Jason’s men milling about trying to remain inconspicuous.
“Nightwing.” Slade greeted him and gestured for him to sit down.
“Help me.” Were the first words that Dick could get out of his mouth.
“I can help you get to your Omega, however, it will take time. Time that you will need to follow my orders, and time that you will need to do what must be done. Are you willing?” Slade asked him with a voice that bordered on straight out commanding.
“Two years.” Dick held out a hand. “You have two years or I’ll go get him on my own.”
Slade smiled at him and nodded. “Let’s go.”
~~~
“I want a mate.” Tim requested one day.
Ra’s looked him over for a moment and then tilted his head in a motion to continue.
Tim steeled himself for the conversation. “My heats last a week and a half on average, this is fine, but I know that they would be shorter, and far less painful if I had a mate. You wish for me to take on the league’s bonds, I believe that I will have a clearer head to learn from you if I’m experiencing heats in a regulated fashion.”
“Detective, it’s been a while since you’ve stepped foot out of the halls of Nanda Parbat, do you have a suitor in mind? Or-” Ra’s paused as Tim held up his hand.
“My chosen mate will fight for me. Let the champions come, and I will choose the one who can one day help me carry the league into a new era.”
Ra’s smiled and nodded. “I’ll arrange a tournament.”
Tim had made this decision with a lot of thought, but he was still nervous about letting just any alpha touch him. A part of him hoped that Talia let slip to Bruce that he was going to be mated, but the rest of him knew that the beta wouldn’t let any of his sons come after him, not after Tim’s ultimatum. It was comforting in a way that he had been left alone for this long already. Ra’s was a difficult teacher, and each fight against him had been fought tooth and nail, but it was going to be worth it when he finally took control of the league. He could change things, he had to change things. Maybe Bruce would even let him come home… six months and counting was making it seem like maybe Bruce wouldn’t.
“Stop it,” he whispered to himself. “You can’t think like that.”
It took Ra’s three days to let Tim know that the tournament was on. Three of Ra’s best fighters, someone hand-picked by Lex Luthor himself, and two other champions that were chosen by mentors that Ra’s had contacted. Tim knew that the Justice League would know something was going on when all these people showed up in Pakistan, but Tim was just hoping that either Bruce would keep them away or would be one of them.
The tournament was set to be in a week, the actual fighting wouldn’t start until Tim’s pre-heat started softening his caramel smell, but he would have a chance to have dinner with the potential suitors before the fight began the next day. He needed to remember that whoever won would be a faceless nobody, someone who didn’t know him, and he needed to keep his head on when he came out of a loveless heat.
Slade was the first to arrive at the compound. His apprentice was tall and strong and unfortunately wore a mask just like his master to hide his features from the world. Slade referred to him as Renegade and told Ra’s that the man had been trained by the best that Sade would accept. Tim felt like a bug being inspected anytime Renegade was in the room. He moved silently like most of the league, but Tim could feel the alpha’s eyes on him whenever he stepped into a shared space. Ra’s champions were often following Tim, one of them had been his bodyguard when he first got to the compound, and the other two were unknown to Tim. The next to arrive at the compound was Lex Luthor, his champion was promised to be there at dinner but Tim hadn’t caught sight of the alpha yet. Finally, Ra’s informed him that Lady Shiva had accepted the summons and brought her own alpha champion to fight for his heat. When she arrived the league went silent at the sight of the young alpha in her wake. The One Who Knows All hadn’t been back on league territory since she joined the bats and Tim was ready to destroy everything he had fought for if it weren’t for the fact that any fight he started would end with him jumpstarting his heat. He may love Cass, but he didn’t expect her to be the bat that showed up first. In fact, he had partially expected Dick to find his own way into the compound to fight for Tim’s hand. But he couldn’t think about the alpha that could have been right now. He needed to figure out how he was going to get Cass out of Ra’s hands when she won the right to his heat.
The dinner came and Tim suddenly had a whole new problem.
Tim walked into the hall behind Ra’s and then froze. Because sitting next to Lex as his champion was Conner. “Kon,” Tim breathed out and Kon looked at him and lifted his mouth into a smile.
“I reject you.” The words were out of his mouth before he could think. Ra’s had told him that he was allowed to reject one of the champions, he had thought originally he would use this on one of the league alphas, but seeing Kon sitting there he knew what he needed to do. “My lord, I reject Kon-el, Connor Luthor, champion of Lex Luthor. We would make a poor match.”
“Tim-” Kon tried to step forward but Renegade was suddenly before him with a knife that looked to be tinted green from where Tim was standing.
“He rejected you kid, get out.” Renegade’s masked voice was deep and gravely and Tim hadn’t heard it before. Cass was just watching what was happening from her own seat but he could see that she was conflicted.
“If you don’t leave it will take me three seconds to out the identity of the second superboy to everyone sitting in this room, and I’ll make sure the knowledge goes public.” Tim hissed under his breath and Kon paled. “Do not think for one second that I’m bluffing, ask Batman why he hasn’t come for his wayward bird and you’ll know I’m a bigger threat than any of you have ever faced.”
Kon studied his face and then nodded. “Okay, I’ll leave… I just needed to know that you’re alive.” Kon turned on his heel and then in a burst of air he flew out but not before Tim felt his TTK brush a lock of his hair back from his face. Lex followed his son out of the room.
Tim blinked the tears that had formed while he was threatening his best friend back and looked to Ra’s and bowed low. “I apologize, my lord.”
Ra’s smiled at him and gestured to the table. “Come sit, it’s time to eat.”
Tim gracefully sat down on the cushion on Ra’s right-hand side. This put him right next to Renegade and that made him nervous. The alpha still hadn’t fully removed his mask, rather he had just taken off the bottom so he could eat. On Ra’s other side was Lady Shiva and then Cass who was watching Renegade as closely as Tim was. Tim knew that he could take any of the league champions in a tussle even when all heated up, and Cass would be gentle with him, but Renegade he had no idea about.
Tim watched as everyone selected food and waited for Ra’s to eat. Tim followed suit and pulled some food onto his own plate. Ra’s took the first bite and then everyone started to eat quietly. After a time Ra’s struck up a conversation with Lady Shiva and Slade about their travels. Tim kept watching everyone else and started doing statistics in his head as to how the battle for his heat would go. Without knowing Renegade well enough he had to assume that he would be out earlier than one of the assassins, but he also didn’t want to discredit the unknown completely. Cass seemed to be watching him closely so he was someone to watch out for, according to her, but maybe that was just because he was also unknown to her? What if he’s gone up against the bats before though? Dick had been dealing with Slade for a long time, what if the mercenary wanted to test his protege against Nightwing? Fuck, has the alpha fought ‘wing before? What if Dick-
“You should eat something,” Renegade whispered to him, startling him out of his thoughts.
Tim tilted his head to look at him more properly and then noticed that Renegade was holding a bite out for him. “I’m not-”
“You’re in preheat, you must be starving. The nerves of the fight are getting to us all, but you’ll need your strength when the victor carries you to bed.” Renegade reasoned with him and Tim nodded. Opening his mouth he allowed Renegade to hand feed him a piece of lettuce that he had piled with rice and a little fish and mango.
“Thank you,” he responded after swallowing.
Renegade gestured to Tim’s plate. “Eat, and don’t worry too much. The stone is rolling and only the most worthy will lay with you tonight.”
Tim nodded and turned back to his plate and ate slowly enough that it didn’t look like he was following an order. He couldn’t show weakness to these alphas, he’d already accidentally shown favoritism to Renegade and that was sure to bite him in the ass later when the alpha lost. Tim could already feel Cass’ eyes on him after the exchange.
Dinner finished and they were led out to the training yard. Ra’s had a chair there and Tim had his matching cushion next to it. He followed Ra’s and gracefully sank down to kneel. He watched Lady Shiva and Slade speak to their proteges and then move to the sides of the arena to watch. They both stood with precision and looked at Ra’s. All five of the remaining alphas lined up in the center of the arena and turned to look at the Demon’s Head.
Ra’s stood up and the silence was palpable. “Thank you all for coming to witness the battle for Timothy’s heat and position as his mate. As league tradition, I have summoned champions that are worthy to be called consort to the heir. These five warriors shall battle according to Timothy’s rules, and after the last alpha is standing they will have the privilege of a chase to Timothy’s quarters. If they can catch our prince and bond with him, they will become his mate. As per tradition, Timothy has been allowed to determine the rules of the battle.”
Ra’s stepped back and gestured to Tim who stood up. “You can all kill a man in many different ways, but that’s not what I want to see. I was originally trained to incapacitate a man but leave him alive, I want to see that. To win the privilege of my chase, you will need to incapacitate your opponents without killing them.”
The three assassins shared a glance towards Ra’s but when he didn’t object or contradict Tim they bowed. Neither Renegade nor Cass seemed phased about Tim making this rule and Cass even spared a smile toward him. He stepped back and kneeled back down and the five alphas took their stances. Ra’s declared the start and the alphas started. Renegade looked at Cass and nodded and then the two of them turned toward the assassins. The three assassins were going after Cass as a team in an attempt to take down The One Who Knows All first. The apparent team-up of Renegade and Cass is lost on them at first before Renegade uses their distraction to nerve strike one of the assassins and take him down to the ground. When he falls like a sack of potatoes Tim is a little nervous, but then can see the man twitch his fingers in an attempt to move. The remaining assassins split up, each taking on one of the other alphas. Tim keeps a watch on Renegade’s fight, watching the man move fluidly in a way that reminds him of Babs when she was still Batgirl, or maybe Dick’s Robin days before he started streamlining in the Nightwing mantle. Cass must have taken out her opponent because she was approaching Renegade’s battle. He tilted his head at her and then did a flip over the assassin that looked so familiar. He turned in the air at the last minute to strike at the assassin and he went down. Renegade then turned his attention to Cass. The two of them bowed to one another and then started to circle. Tim glanced at Ra’s who smiled, he seemed happy with the outcome no matter what way it went. Slade hadn’t put his mask back on after dinner so Tim could see the smug satisfaction on his face that his protege had made it this far. Lady Shiva just looked bored, like she knew the outcome from the beginning.
Then Cass spoke. “Sure?”
Renegade nodded once and then she stood still.
“Home?” She asked.
Renegade shrugged and glanced in Tim’s direction then looked back at her.
She took up a stance and walked forward to him. Then spoke looking straight at Tim. “I yield.”
Tim gasped and Ra’s started clapping. “Congratulations, Renegade. Detective?” Ra’s turned his attention to him and smiled. “Run.”
Tim scrambled to stand up as fast as he could and started the run to his nest. If he could make it there before Renegade caught him then he would get to fight in his own room without an audience, if he couldn’t then tradition dictated that Renegade mate him wherever he was caught and defeated, regardless of how out in the open it was. Tim had started really getting hot as the alphas clashed in the ring, but the chase and knowing that a worthy alpha was on his heels was starting to make his hindbrain scream to be dominated. Tim chanced a glance behind him and almost tripped over his own feet when he saw Renegade so close to him. He was playing with him, teasing him. Tim purrs and Renegade lets out a soft rumble in return.
“You gonna lead me to your nest Sweetheart? Or do I need to take you here?” Renegade asked.
Tim was torn, he wanted to feel the powerful alpha now, but he also valued his privacy, but the league was his, or it would be, and he wanted… everything. Tim whined and then made a decision, darting to the left and in the direction of his nest.
He heard Renegade still close and put an extra burst of speed in as he saw his open doors. Renegade must have seen them too because suddenly he was tackled to the ground. They rolled into Tim’s rooms and Tim heard his attendants closing the doors behind them. Renegade had him facedown in a pin and reached up to finally take off his mask. Tim could hear the thing fall to the ground and then felt lips at his ear.
“Don’t freak out Babybird,” the alpha whispered to him and Tim was filled with urgency to see Renegade’s face.
He struggled and bucked himself up, toppling the alpha to the ground. He turned around and pounced on him and then paused looking down at the face of Dick Grayson. “Dick?”
“Hey, sweetheart.” Dick brushed his hand over Tim’s cheek and held his face in his hand.
Tim felt the tears well up and whined in frustration. “No, you can’t-”
“Please don’t reject me.” Dick stopped him. “Timmy, I’ve wanted you for years, and you disappeared before I could explain, but please don’t reject me again.”
Tim gasped and then lunged away. Dick grasped his ankle and pulled him back and rolled them so Dick was pressing him into the ground again. The alpha leaned in and inhaled his scent. “Your heat smells so sweet omega.” He rumbled into Tim’s ear.
Tim let out his own purr and then pressed his lips to Dick’s hair. “If you want me, then take me,” he whispered and then started to struggle again.
Tim felt his robes loosen from the rolling around and struggled to get out of Dick’s grasp. Dick, for his part, was holding Tim’s wrists in one hand and kissing his neck and scent glands again. Tim felt Dick’s other hand between them and assumed that the alpha was pulling out his cock, something that was confirmed when Tim felt the heavy weight against his thigh.
“You’re going to look so pretty on my knot,” Dick whispered in his ear and that was all the warning that Tim got before Dick struck and bit his mating gland.
Tim whined and felt himself start to finally drop. Dick held his teeth in and Tim could feel the feedback of arousal that Dick was experiencing combining with his own. He moaned lowly and released one of his hands so he could reach down and feel Dick’s cock. He received a low growl from him as he stroked him using the precum to make the glide smoother.
Dick finally released his teeth and then was dragging Tim’s clothes off of him. Tim gasped when Dick slipped two fingers into his pussy and start to fuck him on them quickly. “Babybird, if you keep doing that I won’t last. Let me make you feel good so I can claim you properly.”
Tim gasped and moaned as Dick played him as an instrument. “Please, don’t tease me. I’ve been so empty, I need it, please Dick, please alpha.” Tim begged.
Dick took the hint and lined himself up and slowly filled Tim with his cock. Setting a pace that was brutal and harsh Tim could barely hang onto Dick’s biceps and cling to the alpha. He felt Dick’s knot start to grow and squeezed down on it to make sure that Dick tied them together. He didn’t need to worry though because then Dick was thrusting in as hard as he could and Tim felt his knot pop as he was filled with the alpha’s cum.
Tim grasped Dick’s shoulders and pulled him against his neck again. “Please, mark me again, make me yours,” Tim begged him.
Dick bit down on his gland and then as the bond started to flesh out he pulled back and led Tim’s face to his own neck so that the bond would be two-sided. Tim bit the alpha and felt the bond snap clearly into place over his other bonds. He felt everything else fade away and Dick’s mating bond was golden.
“I love you,” Dick whispered into his hair. “I have for a long time.”
Tim pulled back and let his head fall to the ground. “I love you too. So so much.” Tim looked to the side where his perfectly good nest was just waiting. “Think you can get me into the nest before the next round?”
Dick chuckled. “Yeah, Sweetheart, I’ll carry you there in a moment.”
---
Three days later Tim's fever broke. He sat up in his nest and felt the bond between him and Dick and smiled. This was a better outcome than he dared to imagine when he went to Ra’s about getting a mate. He brushed Dick’s hair out of his face and frowned at the new scar over his eyebrow. He hadn’t had that one before Tim left.
“You’re thinking too hard,” Dick mumbled, reaching out to grasp Tim’s hand and pull it so he could place a kiss on his palm. “You don’t smell as strongly as caramel anymore.”
Tim leaned down and kissed Dick’s lips softly. “My heat’s over.”
“We need to figure out the future,” Dick whispered.
“I made a decision Dick,” Tim warned him.
“You saved Tam, now let me save you. Cass is expecting us home,” Dick countered.
“Ra’s will never let me leave,” Tim whispered.
“He will if you let me take care of it.” Dick kissed Tim softly. “Please, let me?”
Tim pulled Dick into another kiss and sent his love through the bond. “Okay,” he said, pulling away. “But if you get hurt I’ll kill you.”
“We’ll be back in Gotham before the week ends.”
