My thoughts on socks

I have learned a few things about socks on my sock adventure

Pulling the yarn tighter on each stitch does not make the stitches smaller, it makes weird gaps between each stitch and the finished product doesn't stretch as well. In hindsight, I should've foreseen that because that's an easy prediction to make

Socks with tight stitches (a very solid sock) is not nearly as comfortable as loose stitches

Thin yarn is better than thick, natural fibres way better than acrylic

My favorite rib is k 3, p1

I tried a bunch of different heels but the basis short row is so far my fave after I figured out how to place the stitches properly on the needle when k3tog

Texture sounds nice but doesn't feel nice

I did a bunch of toe up socks and i discovered that no matter how long I made the foot, my toes always felt squashed in the toe. I tried a toe down sock, threading the stitches together at the end and the toes were much more comfortable because its shaped more like a bag and less like an envelope. No issue with the seam, it feels seamless.
