Christianity: Divine Rescue
Christianity is a religion, not of self-help, but of divine rescue. Thus, to understand “atonement,” a person must first understand both humanity’s sinful condition and God’s just wrath against sin. For without sin, there is no divine wrath, and without divine wrath, there is no need for salvation. This important context makes the significance of Jesus’ death on the cross all the more comprehensible.
WHAT IS SIN?
At its core, sin is an assertion of spiritual autonomy (a declared independence, even of God); generally described as missing the mark set by God, going astray from God, actively rebelling against God, and taking the form of violating God’s expressed commands. Sin might rightly be defined as anything (including actions, attitudes, and nature) contrary to the moral character and commands of God. Sin is also defined as unrighteousness, godlessness, and lawlessness.
“Wash me thoroughly from my guilt and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my wrongdoings, and my sin is constantly before me. Against You, You only, I have sinned and done what is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and blameless when You judge… because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so… Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.” ~ Psalm 51:2-4; Romans 8:7; 1 John 3:4
ORIGIN OF SIN
Sin originates in the will of the creature. Adam, in his relationship to God, was not just a private individual. He was not only the first man, he was also representative man. God chose to treat Adam’s actions (either obedience or disobedience) as representative of all humanity’s actions. When Adam disobeyed God, it wasn’t just Adam who broke favor with God, but all his descendants as well. Sin and guilt transferred from the fall of Adam to all of Adam’s progeny. Consequently, humans are not sinners simply because they happen to sin, they sin because they are sinners by nature.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned… So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind. For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous… If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.” ~ Romans 5:12; 18-19; 1 John 1:8
TOTAL DEPRAVITY
Sin is universal and resides at the very core (inner being) of every individual [except Jesus], affecting the entire person - including the human mind, will, affections, and body. Human beings are thus ‘totally depraved.’
Total depravity doesn’t mean that people are completely or utterly evil, but it means that people are pervasively sinful (sin has affected their total being), making it impossible for human beings to merit the favor of God [except Jesus].
Fallen human beings are capable of doing certain morally good acts, but their sinful nature renders them incapable of living in a way completely pleasing to God.

Given man’s sinful condition and God’s holy and righteous character, man unavoidably faces the just wrath of God. Yet, in the midst of man’s desperate state (divine judgment), God intervened and provided a way of escape [Christ Jesus].

The Rebellion of the Waters
On the second day of Creation, God tore the upper waters from the arms of the lower waters amidst great weeping, and the upper waters were suspended in the heavens by word of God. On the third day, when God said, “Let the waters be gathered together” (Gen 1:9), the mountains and hills were raised up and scattered, and deep valleys were dug in the earth, into which the waters rolled. As soon as they had gathered together, the waters be-came rebellious, rising up almost to the Throne of Glory, and covered the face of the earth.But God rebuked the waters and said “Enough!” and subdued them beneath the soles of His feet. He trod down on them so that the air came out of them. When the rest of the waters saw how He had trampled the ocean, and heard its terrible cry, they fled. Even though they were seething, there was nowhere for them to go but to the sea. Therefore God surrounded the sea with sand, and measured it with the hollow of His hand, and made the sea swear that it would not go beyond the boundary He had set, as it is said, Who set the sand as a boundary to the sea (Jer. 5:22). Some say that God not only circled the sea with sand, but caused it to dry up, in accord with the verse He rebukes the sea and dries it up (Nah. 1:4).
This midrash draws a link between God’s separation of the upper and lower waters on the second day (see “The Upper Waters and the Lower Waters,” p. 104) and the gathering of the waters on the third, suggesting that the waters rebelled because of their anger at their recent separation. This midrash also comments on Psalm 93:3: The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice, the floods lift up their roaring. God’s quelling the rebellion of the waters clearly echoes the struggle between Marduk, the rain god of Babylon, and Tiamat, the personification of primeval waters in the Babylonian epic, Enuma Elish. This epic struggle (also found in other Near Eastern texts) is hinted at in the Genesis creation narrative, where tehom, the deep, echoes Tiamat. The parallels to the Babylonian myth can be seen in the following passage from Enuma Elish, from Near Eastern Mythology by John Gray, 1969, p. 32:
The Lord trod on the legs of Tiamat
With his unsparing mace he crushed her skull.
When the arteries of her blood he had severed,
He split her like a shell-fish into two parts;
Half of her he set up and sealed it as sky,
Pulled down the bar and posted guards.
He bade them not to allow her waters to escape.
Exodus Rabbah 15:22 makes clear that the ocean was not only trampled by God, but slain: “Then God trampled upon the ocean and slew it.” This text is sometimes intepreted to mean that God slew its prince, Rahab. The reference to the hollow of God’s hand comes from Isaiah 60:12. See the following myth, “The Rebellion of Rahab.”
In Likutei Moharan 1:2, Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav interprets God’s command of “Enough!” to stop the expansion of the world as referring to the creation of the Sabbath. The Sabbath, in effect, stops the work of the six days of the week.
The Rebellion of Rahab
When God desired to create the world, He said to Rahab, the angel of the sea: “Open your mouth and swallow all the waters of the world.” Rahab replied: “Master of the Universe, I already have enough.” God then kicked Rahab with His foot and killed him. And had not the waters covered him, no creature could have stood his foul odor.
The traditions about God slaying Rahab grows out of Isaiah 51:9, Are you not he who cut Rahab in pieces, and wounded the dragon? and Psalms 89:10, You have trampled upon Rahab; you have scattered your enemies with your strong arm. This midrash is also based on Job 26:12: By His power He stilled the sea; by His skill He struck down Rahab. This myth is another version of “The Rebellion of the Waters,” which describes the struggle between God and tehom, the deep, and thus also echoes the battle between Marduk and Tiamat in the Babylonian epic, Enuma Elish. However, Tiamat is a feminine figure, while Rahab is masculine.
In Enuma Elish Marduk uses Tiamat’s body to build a new world, using half to make the heavens and half to make the earth. He uses considerable violence in defeating Tiamat, as does God in defeating Rahab. Marduk crushes her skull with his club, splits her body in two, and scatters her blood in the wind. In the Hebrew myth, the waters are personified in Rahab, the Prince of the Sea, and instead of trampling the waters, God kicks and kills Rahab. There are hints in rabbinic writings that Rahab once had a great, godlike status. For example, it is stated in Deuteronomy Rabbah 2:28: “Rahab placed God in heaven and upon earth.” Although Rahab is killed in this myth, he reappears in later legends as the Prince of the Sea, and performs various deeds at the command of God or one of the rabbis. See, for example, Y. Sanhedrin 7:25d, where Rabbi Joshua ben Haninah calls upon Rahab to recover a lost charm, so that a spell can be broken.
Midrash Tanhuma tries to explain why God kicked Rahab, the angel of the ocean, who represents the ocean itself: “Why did God kill the angel? The rest of the waters, seeing that God kicked the ocean, and hearing its screams, fled without knowing where to flow, until they reached the place that God had prepared for them.” This violent act is thus explained as a way to force the recalcitrant waters to gather in the right places.See “The Rebellion of the Waters,” p. 105.
An alternate version of the Rahab myth found in the Prologue to the Zohar 56 explains that God’s tears, hot as fire, shed over the exile of the Shekhinah, fall into the Great Sea and sustain Rahab. And Rahab sanctifies God’s Name by swallowing all the waters of the days of Creation—the very act that Rahab refused to do in the other version of the myth, for which God killed him in anger. The moral of the two versions is clear: when Rahab refuses an order from God, he is slain; when he accepts the order, his life is sustained.

How To Traditionally Use Magical Baths.

After my last post on how to use floor wash in southern hoodoo I doing this on the use of spiritual baths.
Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Magical Baths are one of the simplest and most effective ways of purifying ones self.
Magical Baths was one of the earliest lessons I was tough.
In the tradition of using herbs for cleansing and bathing is an old practice rooted in African religious traditions, Judeo-Christian tradition paganism and all other religions. Even Psalm 51:7 reads: "Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." and the tradition of using hyssop in cleansing baths persists to this day. In fact it is one of the required ingredients in any uncrossing bath.
How to Bathe. In southern hoodoo baths are not relaxing in a tubs full of flower petals and perfumes that you sit and soak in. Remember this isn't a spa day.😁
They are a series of herbs and minerals that are infused and dumped over the head quickly. Think of it like a baptism of the head or a foot wash in Christianity. Dumping water over your head versus slipping into a warm comfortable bath. It shocks your system and instantly changes your energies vibrations. (Remember what I said in my post on rattles and instruments. The vibrations. And how important & powerful it is.)( See post on rattles)
Baths are typically done in the following manner:
Set up two white candles burning on either side of your tub such that you'll have to pass through them as you step out of the tub. (Don't need to anoint the candles)
2. Heat up some water and allow your herbs to steep until they have transfered their essence and aroma to the water (as strong tea-like infusion is perfect) - strain the herbs out of the liquid. (Don't touch herbs to skin in case If Irritation)
3. Fill a big basin/ bowl with bath-temperature water or tub and add your herbal infusion to it (diluting it) Disrobe and take your basin into the bathroom.
4. Stand in the bath between the two lit candles and dump the bath over your body* use your bowl to capture some bathwater or useing a plug in the tub.
5. Pray a psalm that is appropriate for your situation.
6. Air dry.
7. Dress in clean clothes.
8. Take up some of the captured bathwater outdoors and toss in the street of ground drain the rest.
Direction Of Pouring: You would pour the bath over your body starting at your head then moving upward toward your feet.
If you are eliminating something (like taking a curse off of you, performing an uncrossing or reversing something back at an enemy) you would pour the bath over your body starting at the head and working your way downward...
Psalm: Typically Psalm 23 is prayed while performing any type of bath, but there are others you can use according to your needs. Like I stated use your own If preferred.
Tossing out the Bath Water: toss the water it the street is fine. Keep it simple this is not TV don't need to over complicated.

A CONTRITE HEART THAT TREMBLES AT HIS WORD
20 I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil.
21 I will STEADY him with my hand; with my powerful arm I will make him strong.
22 His ENEMIES WILL NOT DEFEAT HIM, nor will the wicked overpower him.
23 I will BEAT DOWN his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him.
28 I will LOVE him and be kind to him forever; MY COVENANT WITH HIM WILL NEVER END."

God establishes covenant with His beloved.
The text of this teaching talked about the never ending covenant which God had with David and his descendants.
God promises to love him and be kind to him forever. God's love and kindness are never ending.
You also can do what would register you in the Heart of God forever. You can do what others have not done that would trigger His love for you.
God has established different covenants with different people in the past and in the contemporary time.
There are conditions for cutting or establishing a covenant with God.
Someone who has acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour would have to pay attention to some of the principles found in the Bible, for God to be moved and established a covenant with him or her.
(i) A Believer whom God would potentially establish a covenant with, should be someone who walks in total Obedience to God's instructions.
(ii) The submission of such must be uncompromising.
(iii) Such should be able to live sacrificially. He or she should be one who is willing to make sacrifices in doing God's Will.
(iv) Giving should be part of the person's life. Giving to God; His work, servants, the Needy, and whichever way he or she is prompted or stirred to do it.
(v) Such would have to love God with all his or her Heart, soul or mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). The love for God and His Kingdom should take precedence in the heart of such a person (1 King 3:3,4). This love for God and His Kingdom would enable the person to give all; his or her life, and whatever they have (2 Corinthians 8:1-5).
(vi) Humility would be the hallmark, a distinctive feature, of the person. God will not establish a covenant with a proud person (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5).
(vii) The person would have to be a person who understands the importance of Praise (Hebrews 13:15). Ascribing the glory of his or her success to God. If God knew you would steal, or rob Him of His Glory, He would not allow your lifting. His Glory would He not share with anyone (Isaiah 42:8).
To small or large extent, whatever God will do in someone's life, premises on the condition or the state of the person's Heart towards Him and His Kingdom.
What is going on in your heart determines His works and doings in the affairs of your life.
Another important thing that cannot be put aside is, what you do about His Word.
a. Are you indifferent to His Word? (Zechariah 7:13).
b. If you realized that you have missed it, how do you feel about it in your Heart—Are you remorseful? (2 Samuel 12:13; 24:10).
c. Do you tremble at His Word or despise it? (Psalm 34:18; Isaiah 57:15).
d. Do you trivialize His commands or instructions? (Proverbs 1:28,29).
e. Do you reverence Him wholeheartedly? (Deuteronomy 10:12; 30:6; Psalm 119:11).
"MY hands have made both heaven and EARTH; THEY and everything in them are MINE. I, THE LORD, HAVE SPOKEN! “I WILL BLESS THOSE WHO HAVE HUMBLE AND CONTRITE HEARTS, WHO TREMBLE AT MY WORD."

"THE LORD IS NEAR to those who HAVE A BROKEN HEART, And SAVES SUCH AS HAVE A CONTRITE SPIRIT."
Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)
"THE SACRIFICES of God are A BROKEN SPIRIT, A BROKEN and A CONTRITE [repentant] HEART— These, O God, YOU WILL NOT DESPISE."
Psalm 51:17 (NKJV)
God shows mercy to those who had a contrite Heart, who tremble at His Word:
15 FOR He says to Moses, “I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOMEVER I WILL HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOMEVER I WILL HAVE COMPASSION.” 16 SO then IT IS NOT of him who WILLS, NOR of him who RUNS, BUT of God who SHOWS MERCY" (Romans 9:15,16 NKJV).
Someone who is heady, stubborn, might not easily receive His mercy.
Trembling at God's Word makes you a candidate for His mercy and Blessings.
God detests pride, and whoever is proud cannot receive anything from Him.
God, rather, resists or stands on the way of the proud: "AND HE GIVES GRACE GENEROUSLY. As the Scriptures SAY, “GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE"" (James 4:6 NLT).
READ: 1 Peter 5:5
a. Pride is when you want to get or have something done in your own way, rather than God's Way. When you are not willing to submit your Will to embrace God's Will.
b. Pride is the inability to relegate the self and enthrone God. When you do not give to God, His rightful place in your life.
c. Pride is when you are self-centered and strong-willed. When your life is centered on the self, and you are unable to endure because of other people, God, and His Kingdom.
d. When nobody matters to you, but only you. The talking about the self, calling attention to the self, wanting to dominate every discussion.
e. When you believe that you are always Right, whilst others are wrong. That your opinions are the best and should be considered and accepted.
Humble yourself that you might be exalted: HUMBLE YOURSELVES IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, AND HE WILL LIFT YOU UP" (James 4:10 NKJV).
You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Whatever is contrary to your health is rebuked in Jesus' name.
What God has not planted in your life, working against your health, is rooted up in Jesus' name.

I will render you exceedingly fertile; I will make nations of you; kings shall stem from you. I will maintain my covenant with you and your descendants after you throughout the ages as an everlasting pact, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land in which you are now staying, the whole land of Canaan, as a permanent possession; and I will be their God.”
God also said to Abraham: “On your part, you and your descendants after you must keep my covenant throughout the ages.”

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Prayer for afternoon Thursday 🙏
04.01.2024. 7°C degrees warm
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen🙏
Whatever feelings appear in my life day by day from the past, I do not ask for forgiveness because I am a very sinful person, because everyone has sins, and rather I humble myself before God and ask for forgiveness because my heart feels that way, but I rely on God's strength and not mine. My part is submission and obedience, and His part is to empower and sanctify. Amen 🙏
