What do you guys feel about temporary-blind Watcher Grian who can't recognize Mumbo after he crashed on the Hermitcraft server (Like he knows him. But not his name or his face or his voice, he remember his laugh but not how it sounds, rather how it make him feel.)
Ofc it's Mumbo's perspective, maybe.
I'm still playing this idea around but I just want multiple opinions
Imagine TCD Scar finds a group of other survivors.
He's absolutely thrilled, finally able to have someone other than himself to talk to, finally not alone. He sticks with them for a long while and they really get the hang of things. The group is a well oiled machine whenever attacked by hordes and setting up defenses.
He gets to know them very quickly, becoming friends with all of them.
Grian, the sniper.
Mumbo, the tactician.
Pearl, the leader.
Impulse, the melee and "door buster" as affectionately called by the other three.
Scar fits right in, hanging out with Grian the most and exchanging tips on shooting. Grian is the first person he allows to touch and even hold his gun, the very thing he named himself after.
But one day something goes wrong.
Mumbo is the first to fall. Then Impulse. Then Grian, who throws himself in front of Pearl to save her. Then finally Pearl, who falls screaming in grief, rage, and pain.
Okay but imagine after Mumbo sees young Scar's mostly white hair in tcd he finally realizes why his hair goes white and it gives him a whole new context for Scar's white hair in Last Life (it wasn't just a 'style choice' like Scar said) and he feels super guilty about it and vows to be super vigilant about it when he's back on hermitcraft. Then Grian and Scar come back from double life and Scar has a whole chunk of white hair on display and he worriedly asks Grian what happened and Grian's just super chill about it like 'i think he just dyed it to be dramatic about the secret soulmate thing' and Mumbo has to ask him to elaborate and so Grian does and he tells it like it's some funny anecdote and like it's no big deal but Scar's hair had turned white and somewhere in the middle of Grian's explanation Mumbo just hauls back and decks him across the face KKAJSDJKS he won't stand for the Scar slander <33

OH HELL YEAH. JAY THIS IS SO GOOD HOLY SHIT.
I would love to see Mumbo suddenly being so overprotective-
The thing with Grian and Scar in DL-
Mumbo needed just one look at Scar to know that something was wrong but grian seems like he's just trying to ignore it.
And I wanna see the hermits wonder what happened when Mumbo was on his break. Because when he comes back hes more agressive.
He will tell someone to shut up, he will punch someone when they say something he doesn't like. Especially when it comes to Scar. There's this deep look in his eyes, this sadness and anger that no one seems to understand.
On one hand, I personally believe that Mumbo Jumbo is such a goofy man that he is incapable of having angst headcanons be made about him
On the other hand, ever since Grian informed him that his Void self has the deepest, creepiest black eyes, he has been unable to look at mirrors. His own eyes are a solid black, which isn't abnormal for a human. But sometimes... sometimes if he stares long enough, he thinks he can actually see the monster lurking behind the abyss.
lost longing for someone you can't recall, but that someone's a faraway deity
"The ancient gods changed men to things, but left them
A consciousness that smoldered endlessly,
That splendid sorrows might endure forever.
And you are changed into a memory."

Joel and the mounders all tell eachother their deepest fears. Joel’s resonates with all of them.
Here’s a little rant on The Mounders:
Personally, I see the Mounders as sort of the ‘nobodies’, or the people who were abandoned once in their lives. Each of them have gone through betrayal and heartbreak, loneliness and knowing what it’s like to be picked last. Yet they have eachother now. They’ve always sort of been a weird pairing of people (at least to me), but it makes sense, in a way. They’re just a group of nobodies who make eachother somebody. They’re loyal no matter what because they know what it’s like to be abandoned, betrayed for a better deal. They open up to one another and share who they are cause they know what it’s like to want to be wanted. To have nobody listen. But now they have each other and they will die for each other.
Even though they aren’t close, and aren’t ‘best’ friends at all, they’re definitely found family. A family that found themselves through nothing, and made something.
Scar being surrounded by love after SL is over. They’re stuck indefinitely in Limbo, unsure why. Normally, the winner shows up, and everyone wakes up home. Not this time.
A snow storm comes in, and Grian makes a joke of ‘formally inviting’ everyone to a fortified community house to wait it out together. It’s big with accommodations for everyone. Everyone shows up bringing blankets and food. Scar gets extra love in all of this. Everyone’s safe, there, and happy.
Except for one person. A pink-haired woman who’s still sitting in her house. Who’s been keeping to herself so much she didn’t hear talk of the storm. Whose house is in the middle of the woods. Who didn’t get an invite. Who’s curled up in thin, tattered blankets, shivering by a dying fire. A pink-haired lady who’s blocked in by snow and fallen trees. Lizzie, who just wants to see her friends again.
Lizzie, who wants to joke around with Grian. Lizzie, who wants to gossip with BigB and Pearl. Lizzie, who wants to talk shit with Cleo. Lizzie, who wants to talk redstone with Mumbo. Lizzie, who wants to talk builds with Joel. Who wants to eat Jimmy and Tango’s cooking that warms your bones. Who wants to curl up around Gem, and the Scott’s as they talk music. Who wants to wrap up in one of Bdubs many fluffy blankets as Etho denies anything Joel related. Who wants to hear Skizz giving praises. Who wants to hear Martyn and Ren’s theatrics.
Lizzie, who wants everything Scar has right now. But she’s stuck in her house, alone, curled up by a dying fire.
I hope everyone knows that The Mounders is the only thing keeping Pearl and Joel from going absolutely insane. We’ve seen how they can get when they’re red. Specifically, red with no allies. Or lost allies. Red names with no one to keep them stable or to help calm them down. No one to cheer them up or make them laugh or brighten their day. You’ve seen them. They’re insane, they’re bloodthirsty, they’re violent. They’re Scarlet Pearl and Lone Wolf Joel. And now, they’ve just lost Mumbo. Everyone on Secret Life needs to be careful now because Bdubs has scary dog privileges
Autumn came, and with it came a pleasant chill in the air and large, fluffy clouds carried by a lazy breeze. Leaves turning to fiery colours fell from the trees to the ground, adding a delightful crunch to the ambient sounds of travel. Five pairs of feet walked over the leafy path, one in particular stopping by a stand-out patch of purple-blue. Scarred hands gently plucked one of the late blooming lilacs, a grin lighting up dark green eyes as they examined the flower.
“Scar!” Impulse's voice, cheerful and hearty, called out. “You comin', man?”
Scar straightened up, eyes blowing wide open at how far away the others had gotten while he was picking flowers. “Hey! Guys, wait up!” He jogged up to the group before settling back into a casual pace. “I can't believe you were just gonna leave me like that!” he jokingly complained.
“We still can!” Grian chirped, “it's not too late!”
Scar stuck his tongue out at Grian, who made a face back. Scar huffed playfully at that, crossing his arms. “Well, if you're gonna be like that, I'm not gonna give you these flowers!” he teased, watching Grian's eyes widen.
“Give me those!” Grian squawked, trying to grab them from Scar's hand. Unfortunately for him, he was short and Scar was not, so the taller man simply held them above his head.
“Say pleeeease~!” Scar sang out, letting out his little breathy chuckle, a bouncy sound just as signature as his crooked smile.
Grian crossed his arms, glaring playfully up at Scar. “May I please have the flowers, Scar?” he asked, and Scar gracefully nodded.
“Here you are, my good man!” Scar exclaimed, handing the flowers to Grian with a flourish. Grian snatched the flowers and took a moment to admire them before tucking them behind his ear, nestling them carefully against the feathers of his ear wings.
Mumbo laughed, looking Grian up and down. “Looking great, G. Really adds some colour to your outfit,” he teased, and Grian smacked him with a wing.
Pearl turned around, already laughing. “Alright ladies, break it up. If we want to get these apples before fall is over, we gotta pick up the pace and stop it with the infighting.”
“I'm not going to listen to you!” Grian quipped, and Pearl picked an apple off the tree and threw it at his head. He dodged, of course, but she made her point well enough. “Okay, Pearl, void! No need to be so violent! Absolutely crazy, that woman,” he muttered playfully to Mumbo and Scar.
They made their way through the rows of apple trees before deciding on one. Pearl handed Impulse her bag before carefully climbing up into the tree, going higher and higher until she had practically disappeared into the leaves. “The best ones are at the top!” she called, upon hearing Impulse's confusion. “Right, Impy– catch!”
Impulse yelped as Pearl threw an apple down to him, just barely managing to catch it before placing it in the bag. “I don't know how I feel about being the catcher!” he called up to Pearl, “I feel like this is just an excuse to try and hit me in the face with apples!”
Pearl cackled, giving him no real answer as she threw another apple down for him to catch.
Meanwhile, Grian had decided to try and hop up onto Scar's shoulders in order to get the apples that were higher up. Of course, in his classic Grian style, he hadn't informed Scar of that decision beforehand, leading to the two almost falling over. Mumbo laughed at them as he picked his own apples by hand.
Impulse did, in fact, get hit in the face with an apple. Only once, though. Grian and Scar ended up eating more apples than they put in their bags. Mumbo's head sprout accidentally grew an apple that Scar dared Grian to take a bite out of, much to Mumbo's horror.
They ran into Tango and Jimmy on the tail end of their apple picking adventure, and of course Grian tried stealing an apple from Jimmy.
“Don't you dare!” Jimmy snapped, smacking Grian's hand away. “Tango worked so hard to get these for us!”
Tango squeaked, his tail flicking back and forth. “Hey man, I was just– I was just doin' my job, y'know? Climbing trees is fun, too. I don't do it often.”
Pearl gestured at Tango, looking at Impulse. “See? He gets me!”
Impulse rubbed the sore spot on his forehead where he had been beaned with an apple. “Yeah, well, Tango isn't dropping apples on Jimmy's face!”
Pearl snickered, her wings fluttering slightly. “That was an accident, Impulse!” she exclaimed, though the tone of her voice made it very clear that it had been on purpose. “And! And, I apologized!”
Impulse grinned. “Well, you're not forgiven.”
Tango sucked in a dramatic breath through his teeth. “Ooooh, that's rough. Impulse over here holds a grudge like no one else, y'know. He never forgets.”
“I'm still mad from the time you set my pants on fire,” Impulse grumbled.
“That was ten years ago–!”
Jimmy grabbed Tango's arm. “You did what?!”
“Ten years ago!” Tango yelped, and the whole group devolved into cackling laughter.
They said their goodbyes and went to go pay for their apples, and by popular demand, bought some fresh cider donuts as well. The group sat at one of the tables outside, happily munching away at their donuts and chatting about their most recent adventures.
It was a wonderful fall day. The first of many yet to come.
TCD mumbo getting obsessively protective over scar to the point where its not healthy.
Mumbo is always keeping an eye on Scar, paranoid that something is gonna hurt him.
Mumbo getting scared when he's getting low on health because he will die and Scar will he alone again-
It's gets to the point where mumbo has the best gear possible, constantly on alert and helping scar at all times. And as much as scar appreciates it, he's also worried.
It's very clear that Mumbo also has some sort of trauma from TCD, but he doesn't want to admit it.
Scar makes mumbo to talk to him properly. He tells him what he's doing is not healthy and that he needs help. He cant keep doing this- he can't be stuck in the past like this. But what was years ago for scar was days ago for mumbo.
Scar has days where he feels like he's back there, but he's worked so hard to get better and he will fight for mumbo to do the same.
He knows it's not easy and it's not fun, but he will help mumbo however he can.
mumbo talking ab growing gills in his most recent episode has activated my little brain. fishy mumbo. mermaid mumbo. shifter mumbo who doesnt really consciously shapeshift, but is instead influenced by the people around him— who he spends the most time with, who elicits the most emotions in him, what he eats, what he personally is doing. shifter mumbo who has seen his friends dedicate themselves to the ocean and gone “huh. haven’t tried that one before.. wonder whats up with that”. shifter mumbo who sees how much time grian has put towards the ocean and feels, not for the first time, a longing to have grians full attention again, because it feels like theyve been so far from each other for so long, and he doesnt know how to mend that rift thats begun to appear, doesnt know how to even begin to approach it. shifter mumbo who wonders if its even fixable, who then wakes up the next morning with gills and better dark vision and fins and webbing between his fingers and goes “this is going to make my life much harder isnt it”. shifter mumbo who thinks, deep down, that maybe this will make grian notice him more.
