Hello, welcome to the Bingo of Our Own Christmas Event! This is going to be a limited time bingo event, separate from the main one. So, yes, you can still participate even if you have already received a card.
RULES
1. You can find the card on our Tumblr page.
2. Everyone can participate! It doesn't matter if you previously asked for a card or not.
3. The deadline is 7th of February.
4. You can post NSFW fics, but you must tag it accordingly. Anything explicit should be kept under ‘keep reading’.
5. For potentially triggering content, you have to add TWs above.
6. To make a bingo, you must complete all of the squares in a single row (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal). To make a blackout, you must complete all the squares.
7. Getting a bingo or a blackout gives you special titles in the Bingo of Our Own Discord server (you need a link to join the server, and to get it, you can message us). The titles are purely decorational and will not give you special perks, but they serve as a fun little badge that show you've completed the card.
The titles are:
The Ghost of the Christmas Past: Participated in the Bingo of Our Own Christmas Event by submitting at least one prompt fill.
The Ghost of the Christmas Present: Got at least one bingo vertically, horizontally, or vertically.
The Ghost of the Christmas Future: Completed the Bingo of Our Own Christmas Event by filling all the prompts.
Only those who post their works on the Ao3 collection/tag us on Tumblr will get the titles, but you can also just write for yourself.
8. You can use multiple prompts in a single work, but it will only count as one square.
9. Multi-chaptered works are accepted as multiple square fills, given that every chapter is a self-contained story for a single prompt.
10. There is no minimum or maximum word count.
11. You are allowed to crosspost your works. If you want, you can submit them to our official Archive of Our Own Collection.
12. If you want your work to be reblogged, you have to tag @thebo3bingo along with #bingoofourownchristmas and/or #bo3christmas
13. No harassment towards any of the creators is allowed. Don’t like something? Don’t read it.
14. All fandoms and pairings need to be appropriately tagged.
15. There is just a single card for all the participants, and the prompts cannot be changed.

When can I start posting?
As soon as you’re done writing There is no starting date.
Does the event have a deadline?
Yes. The last day to post is 7th of February, if you want to get the special Discord titles, want your works to be reblogged and/or added to the Christmas Event Ao3 Collection. But you can still post later than that, without getting the perks.
What fandoms are included?
Any fandom you want!
Can I submit any other types of artwork?
This is mainly a fanfiction event, but you can make fanart or edits for your prompts if you want to. Just don’t forget that they need to be SFW if you’re going to post them on Tumblr.

Oh my gosh, thank you for the ask!
💫what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?
I love all comments and feedback (as long as it's not like.. mean). Just knowing people read or enjoyed something I wrote is honestly an incredible feeling. But I think my favorite thing is when I've made someone laugh. That always makes me really happy. Also love hearing when I nail the characterization because that is important to me, but making people laugh is like... my favorite thing.
🎀give yourself a compliment about your own writing
I mean I sure do a lot of it. 😅 Sometimes I worry I post too much fic (is that a thing??) and I definitely don't expect to people keep up reading when I'm posting weekly or whatever, but I really enjoy writing, and it's part of how I engage with fandom and I write fast, so I end up with a lot of fic. (I also end up with a lot of scraps, unfinished stories, false starts, and stuff I don't think is worth posting.)
Also I do think I'm pretty solid at dialogue. Not all the time but I try to get the character's voices correct or as close as I can. Marius and Louis are often the hardest, but Lestat and Daniel having conversations takes me FOREVER to write because I want them both to sound like them. (That's two compliments, whoops. The first is sort of dubious I guess.)
🧿what steps do you take to not take things personally if a fic doesn't do well, or if your writing/posting/sharing experience isn't going how you'd like it to?
I always take it personally. 😂😂 No, no, I'm kidding. I try to remind myself of several things: 1. Sometimes you just post at a weird time or a day when people aren't around and then it gets forgotten and buried so it doesn't get as much love. 2. Sometimes it's just not a popular pairing or type of fic. But I like to experiment with different stuff and different groups of characters. 3. Not every fic is for everyone and neither is my writing style. I tend to write a lot of dialogue-heavy slice of life stuff, which I love, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. I've gotten a lot more confident writing smut, and someday I want to write a big Plot-Heavy Multi-Part fic or try cowriting with someone, but I love little fics that just explore the nooks and crannies left by canon (both reading them and writing them). Not everything I write is going to have broad appeal and that's okay!
Mostly, I'm writing for me. I am my own target audience. Of course I want other people to enjoy what I write, and I always hope they do! Which is why comments really help, it makes it feel like I'm not writing into a void. But at the end of the day, as long as one or two people enjoy it and it's what I set out to write, then I'm happy, and I move on and write the next thing.
💌share something with us about an up-and-coming work (WIP) that has you excited!
I am desperately trying to write something Lestat/Daniel for Lestat Birthday Bingo but I have like 3 half-finished fics I'm not super happy with any of them right now, so we shall see! Their conversations are so hard to write, I think because they get deep and getting Lestat to actually open up is a challenge! 😬
I also have an idea for a fun Devil's Minion Christmas Fic that I want to start soon, so I'm really excited about that but I don't want to say too much since I don't want to jinx it.

Longfic Series: A Tempest In Time:
Nearly seven years prior to the Honno-ji incident, a wormhole swept adrenaline junkie Katsuko and her brother Toshiie into Sengoku Japan. After an attack by bandits, the two are separated and Toshiie disappears. Katsuko is taken into the household of the enigmatic Yamaoka Akihira - initially as a maid. But Katsuko has other ideas, choosing to dress as a young man and become a courier for Aki. Over the next few years, "Katsu" travels through Japan's warring states, delivering messages and looking for her brother, and encountering some of history's most famous warlords. Then Honno-ji happens and everything changes...

But when her mentor Aki disappears and his trail leads to an illegal slave market in Sakai, Katsuko’s investigation sends her on a collision course with Akechi Mitsuhide.
Mitsuhide and Katsuko have never gotten along. However, Aki is not the only missing person. Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Mai have also disappeared in Sakai, and Mitsuhide is determined to locate and rescue them. Forced into a dangerous partnership, Katsuko must masquerade as Mitsuhide’s concubine. But even working together, can they fool the man known as the God of Deceit?

Mitsunari and “Okatsu” agree their relationship will be all business – after all, they only need to fool a lovesick princess for a few days. How difficult can that be? But that’s before Mitsunari and Okatsu discover that the Princess’s younger brother is the target of an assassin. That’s before they flee to a nearby forest to stop a coup against Oda Nobunaga. Most importantly, that’s before Mitsunari decides his feelings for Okatsu are anything but fake.

Timeline One: Twelve Lies I Told Shingen Takeda (Completed as of 1/2/2022)
Courier, scout, daredevil, housemaid … liar: Katsuko has had many identities in the seven years since a wormhole sent her back in time to feudal Japan. After she and her mentor Akihira help Shingen Takeda fight off bandits, “Katsu” finds herself working for Shingen as a messenger.
He thinks she’s a boy. She thinks he’s the biggest womanizer in the province.
But there are others forces at work – an old enemy is closing in, her new boss has a fatal secret, an assassination plot threatens the lives of Katsu’s new friends, war is on the horizon… and that’s just in this timeline. With all that going on, it’s good that he doesn’t know she’s a woman.

“Alpine, come to daddy,” Bucky smirks as your cat immediately runs toward him. The white furball sits next to your alpha and rubs her cheek into his calf. “Good girl.”
“Buck, can you just not,” Steve calls from the kitchen. “Stop seducing the cat, chickens, and our omega.”
“But they all love me,” the brunette shrugs. “What can a man do if they are all over him? I must spread the love.”
“Alpha, stop seducing my cat,” you tut. “It’s worse enough that she demands to sleep on your chest, and that the chickens are all over you too. You can’t do such a thing.”
“Bucky has enough love for everyone, doll,” your alpha smirks. He gives you a wink as he crouches down to pet your cat’s head. “I can’t let them down.”
“Dada,” you sigh as your daughter stumbles toward Bucky. She calls for her daddy and holds out her chubby hands. “Daaada!” she cries and whines.
“Baby girl,” Bucky scoops your little girl up, to press her gently to his chest. She immediately calms and sniffs at her father’s neck. “You know daddy loves you, right? Aw, you’re my favorite girl.”
“You are my favorite girl,” Steve points out as Bucky is busy kissing your daughter’s head. “Bucky likes to stray, but I only want you, doll.”
“I only want our omega. How can I not love my daughter?” Bucky grits his teeth. “You love Steven jr. as much as I love my daughter. Hell, I love the cute little bean like crazy. Even though, he scrunches up his nose as you do.”
“I was joking, Buck. I know that you only love our omega,” the blonde flashes Bucky a smile. “If only you wouldn’t try to seduce the chickens all the time.”
Bucky groans.
“Alphas, stop fighting. I need your help with the Christmas tree. Steven jr. is still asleep, but the little devil will wake soon and demand my full attention. We should try to get as many things done as possible.”
“You love that little Stevie clings to you,” Steve whispers in your ear. “Like father, like son, doll. He just loves his mommy so much.”
“Steve, stop trying to seduce our omega while my baby girl is around,” this time Bucky uses his alpha voice. “I dare you to use dirty language in front of my daughter.”
“You are the one not having his dirty mouth under control,” your other alpha bites back. You sigh again, knowing that they will fight the moment you turn your back on them to take care of the kids.
“Alphas,” you raise your voice. “I will not accept fighting in my house. Not on Christmas, not in front of our children. I told you to stop acting like mobsters in my house!”
“We are sorry,” Bucky and Steve say in unison. “No more fighting. Promised.”
“Good,” you hold out your hands. “Bucky, give me my daughter. I’ll feed her before Steven jr. wakes. Steve, you’ll bring the tree inside.”
Bucky whines but carefully places his daughter in your arms. “Be careful. She’s moody in the morning. You know that.”
You chuckle as Bucky seems to have forgotten, that you are her mother. He turns into a worried mother hen the moment the kids are around.
“I know alpha,” you peck his cheek. “I’ll take good care of her.”
“I-yes,” Bucky clears his throat. “What can I do?” He watches you rock your daughter in your arms, feeling a pang in his heart. Bucky just can’t be without you or his daughter for long.
“I want you to help Steve with the Christmas tree. Sam, Peter, Tony, and the others will be here soon. We want our friends to have a nice Christmas this year too,” you softly say. “I have missed them all.”
“Yes, ma’am,” your alphas hurriedly make their way toward the front door. “This will be an even better Christmas than last Christmas.”

2021 Fanfic End of the Year Asks
And here’s another review questionnaire! Again, feel free to consider yourself tagged if you would like to do this yourself.
favorite fic you wrote this year - "The Bonds We Choose"
least favorite fic you wrote this year - Eh, I guess "Sara in the Moonlight", if I had to choose.
favorite line/scene you wrote this year - I already mentioned these in the other questionnaire, but my favorite scene was Ch. 10 of "The Bonds We Choose" and my favorite line was "Otabek hadn't won because he was the best skater in the world; he had won only because the best skater in the world had made a mistake and lost," from “Golden Moment”.
total number of words you wrote this year - (Copying and pasting my answer from before) My official word count for the year on AO3 is 190,106, but about 33,500 of those are from reposting "Sands of Time (Destiny Arrives)", one of the very first fics I ever wrote, so those shouldn't count. And some of those stories/chapters were actually written last year; I just wasn't able to post them until this year. So... I'm going to say roughly in the 120,000-150,000 range?
most popular fic this year - "What Happens In St. Petersburg" probably, although it's hard to judge the popularity of "The Bonds We Choose" since it's a long multi-part and I started posting last year. TBWC does have the most AO3 comments of all my fics, at 32.
least popular fic this year - "Blue Christmas" only got three kudos and two comments/reviews, so...yeah. Guess not many Minako/Yaten fans around!
longest completed fic you wrote this year - "The Bonds We Choose" ended up at about 80,000 words, but I didn't write all of them this year. The longest one-shot was “Ménage à Trois” at a little over 14,000.
shortest completed fic you wrote this year - "A Dynamite Surprise" was only 870 words.
longest wip of the year - Well, it's no longer a WIP, but “The Bonds We Choose”.

any new fics to start next year - I intend to write at least two or three fics for the first annual Sailor Moon Rare Pair Week I'm hosting the last week of March, although I haven't really come up with any ideas yet other than a Chibi-Usa/Helios getting engaged one-shot. I’m also mostly done with three one-shots for the YOI version of Rare Pair Week, which begins the first week of the year.

most memorable comment/review - Well, this one is pretty recent, so it's still fresh on my mind, but I really loved the comment @taedae-nextrea left me on “Want and Need”:
I really appreciated the respect you showed both sides in this story, ace and allo. And that you showed blended sexualities can work, with the right pairs of people. Sure, it's not easy but no relationship is, regardless of anyone's sexualities or identities. I was also very intrigued that you had Yura as the ace character. I feel like a lot of people would have swapped them. I love it either way. But it's also kind of nice when characters are represented in more 'unexpected' ways.
I relate to Otabek really hard in this fic. So to see you've written him saying the same things I've said to someone I love very deeply as well, it's such a lovely feeling. Much like any kind of representation, I'm glad to see an allo character not be an asshole toward their ace partner.

One of the best Sailor Moon fics ever, even if it did take a decade for the new chapter to come out...
number of favorites/bookmarks you made this year - Apparently about 500 bookmarks on AO3? But a good number of them are old links I imported from my FF.net favorites.
favorite fanfic author of the year - My favorite authors don't really change from year to year, so I guess I'll just go with last year's answer to this question -- @floraone and @allekha!
longest fic you read this year - Well, if the question takes into account stories I'm currently reading and haven't finished yet, then the longest is almost certainly "Beneath Your Beautiful" by EmHunter and Bunnycube at almost 330,000 words. But going by fics I've actually finished reading this year... I think it's probably "on growing;" by crossroadswrite at around 140,000? I don't feel like going through all my (500!) bookmarks from this year to check, but it's definitely one of the longest, at least!

Because I co-write a lot with my lovely wife, I might answer some questions including those co-written stories, or I might not, depends on how I feel when I get there.

at the moment: MCU, especially Agents of SHIELD and Daredevil; Terminator: Dark Fate; Halt and Catch Fire. Oh and I wrote Dollhouse fanfics a thousand years ago. Sometimes I will watch a movie/show and think “those two girls should be gay” and bang out 2k of fic about it and then never write for that fandom again. (I THOUGHT this was going to be HACF but as it turns out, no, it’s not done with me yet.)

Co-written, it’s definitely mallverse, which is I think the reason most writers definitely hate us because it’s very long and there are a lot of tags lmao. The problem is that every tagged character HAS shown up in a significant fashion at some point so we can’t just...untag them! It doesn’t update weekly anymore because we’re exhausted by life lmao so at least there’s that???
As for a multi-chapter fic that was just me, I don’t tend to do that so much, so actually it’s say you will, my 3-chapter Endgame fix-it where Clint dies instead of Natasha and Natasha and Laura have a past. It actually has over 1000 hits which is very exciting! I feel like it’s...niche in a way that is frustrating but understandable lol. I put a lot of my heart into it and some people really liked it, so that’s gratifying.
favorite story you’ve written so far:
Co-written, I think our SHIELD Dollhouse AU is very underrated for the amount of work we put into it. Author bias evident here because I love Dollhouse warts and all, and it’s a lot of fun translating episode plots as well as the general trajectory of the show into stuff that will work with SHIELD characters. We don’t just rewrite episodes, we really try and rework them as needed. Also it features both Skimmons and my beloved rarepair Bobbi/Kara, though of course they won’t get together until later.
Of my own stuff, I’m still really really proud of the AU where Kara Palamas didn’t die. I think that was a pretty severe misstep of the show and I think I did a good job of fixing it. (I haven’t forgotten Kara, promise!)
fic you were nervous to post:
lolololol I wrote some uh. Terminator pornography last year and. They are very porny! I had co-written a bunch of smut obviously, but that was the first time I’d posted like, PWP all by myself on purpose??? and that was TERRIFYING. Also I was very nervous to post the Engame fix-it because that was my own personal goodbye/tribute to Natasha.
how you choose your titles:
They are always either song lyrics or jokes (such as Three Lawyers and a Baby, my Daredevil Accidental Baby Acquisition fic). My WIP docs are always titled either obvious shit like “RoseJannah horse girls” or memes like “what if we belonged to a fire cult and we fucked haha just kidding unless...?” or “Morgan has two mommies.”
do you outline?:
B and I typically outline for the co-written fics, although it’s more often chapter-by-chapter outlines since that’s how we write them. On occasion we’ve fully planned multi-chapter stuff out in advance but that’s less common. Oh and the one-shots are nearly always outlined as well, just to keep ourselves organized.
When I have written planned multi-chapter fics in the past I have used outlines - particularly for the Kara one and I had to do that for the SHIELD Kill Bill AU because I was trying to follow the format of the movie. For things that are allegedly supposed to be one-shots I almost never outline, which turns out to be a terrible idea when they inevitably balloon beyond my control and become 45k like say you will. That one, I wrote out a list of scenes I thought needed to be in it and then I wrote about 75% of those scenes and then I wrote a bunch more scenes I hadn’t planned for. Don’t be like me, kids!

You may notice a pattern!
By myself, I have: Have Your Elf a Merry Little Christmas, a Terminator Hallmark Christmas fic that I ambitiously posted the first chapter of in 2019 and then lost steam immediately (I am going to go back to it sooner or later bc I had some cute ideas for it); the SHIELD Fate of the Furious AU that has one chapter to go and which I do intend on finishing eventually; Three Lawyers and a Little Lady, the Daredevil Accidentally Baby Acquisition AU that is literally just cute kidfic and poly avocados and which I have a bunch of ideas for and just need to buckle down and finish some.

Lol so there’s a Dollhouse Caroline/Bennett Doctor Who AU that I wrote purely as idfic and which nobody ever cared about except me, and I think that ship has sailed! RIP darlings. I also had an ongoing Skimmons series waaaay back when where I posted oneshots that were like missing scenes or gay readings for each s1 episode, and I just feel like it would be inauthentic to even try and finish it at this point. (It does include the first ever Skimmons fic to be posted on AO3! Really truly, there’s one fic that shows up as older but it’s an ongoing fic and was updated with the tag way after I posted mine.)

35 Q’s for Fanfic Writers

I’m having a shitty, rude alter-y, crap night so I’m just going to answer all of these to distract myself and focus and to not bother anybody just making my own post and putting it under the cut
btw, notice to anyone not aware: since I’m moving I won’t likely be updating anything until I’m done doing so.
1. From one to five stars, how would you rate your writing? (No downplaying yourself!)
3/5? Could use more editing and description and can be weirdly paced.
2. Why do you write fanfiction?
Because it’s better than focusing on pain 24/7.
3. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
I don’t seem to have a specific narrative voice that people recognize but I’m pretty proud of mostly organic dialogue.
4. Are there any writers that inspire you?
as a rule i never look up to anybody for inspiration but there’s some stuff in my ao3 bookmarks I fawn over.
5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
Right now, none of them. It changes normally, anyway. If get too proud then I’d get my ass kicked by RSD if someone didn’t like it so it’s safer this way
6. What element of writing do you find comes easily?
Dialogue.
7. What element of writing do you struggle with most?
Organic description, poetic language kind of stuff. I can paint a scene but I’m not so great with bring out out a feeling with description alone.
8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?
Janus and Virgil are probably tied. They both have things I struggle with but I don’t have to go back and do much adjusting of language and tone with them. Though admittedly my Virgil is signifigantly more foul-mouthed than canon and I tend to prefer pre-AA feral asshole Virgil.
9. Which character(s) do you find most difficult to write?
Patton. I write him the least, so people can probably tell. I love Patton, I really do, but it’s so hard to keep away from fanon Patton.
10. What’s your favorite genre to write for?
Angst w/ H/C obviously. Or if you’re talking about regular book genres, Fantasy. I fucking love fantasy world building.
11. Who or what do you find yourself writing about most?
Trauma. I blame Daeram. As if Ayri isn’t a giant Angst Demon.
12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.
Slopes. I’m really into it. I’ve got three one shots running right now. Patrons can read the first part of the unnamed cat remus one, there’s also a coffeeshop au tropey nonsense one like eglantine & lycoris, but Slopes is addiction angst. Mmmmm. Virgil is addicted to coke and alcohol and will listening to his friends even be in time? Who knows, especially not me, but there’s already over 30k.
13. First fandom you ever wrote for?
InuYasha. Or was it Harry Potter? Or shit, The Blue Sword? Fuck, I’ve been writing for a long time, I really have no idea.
14. What’s your favorite fandom to write for?
Sanders Sides. The characters are the perfect dynamic for writing since they exist in balance of each other and the popular, easy to project on archetypes featured are incredibly fun to do basically any scenario with.
15. What’s the weirdest fandom you’ve ever written for?
Weird storywise? Kingdom Hearts? I can’t even follow the plot anymore.
Weird Fandomwise? Sanders Sides. Its simultainiously the fluffiest and angstiest nonsense at the same time.
16. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?
Vampires. Gay ones. Gay Vampires. I also love calm tol and angy smol.
17. A trope you’ll never, ever write for.
Any tropes that normalize incredibly toxic behaviour or tropes that are inherantly ableist, but I can’t think of any.
18. Wildest fic you’ve ever written?
Incorrigible continues to be complete nonsense.
19. Do you prefer canon-compliant, AUs, or something in-between?
AUs. I mean closest I even have is canon-divergence other than a single short.
20. Gen fic or shippy stuff?
I like it when there is gay nonsense along with a plot that is treated as more important than the relationship the most. But I like both. There’s more shippy stuff in tss so i read more shipping action by default.
21. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!)
Anxceit/Sleepxiety, but in general, give me darksides or give me death/j
22. Do you listen to anything while you write?
Almost everything I write has a special playlist I listen to to help me write it, but otherwise I listen to my Nyan playlist, an alter is picking the tunes, or a voidfam playlist. I never have music off. When my internet is down I just listen to the songs I own or Anxiety’s theme on loop.
23. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
I’m fine with all of them. I love working with prompts but I tend to deviate. And I’ve never done a challenge since I can’t do deadlines and bad things happen bingo never sent me a card and I applied three times.
24. One-shots or multi-chaptered works?
I am generally multi-chaptered stuff, but I’ve been working on a few one-shots lately that are much longer than most one shots.
25. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!
I was originally thinking of doing some little 13-year-old Dreaming!Roman (y’know, the one with a job) shorts but it turns out I just had an alter of that little bastard and that’s why I inexplicably know more about him then I ever even considered. I still might do them after Dreaming is done. But that’s paced so slowly who knows when that might happen. Otherwise I put stuff in my notes and just do shorts of it if I’m like “oh you know what’s cool???” but since I can’t daydream maybe this question doesn’t apply to me.
26. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?
I want to do more autism stuff, and I’ve had it demanded a few times, but I’m scared of being that explict about it for some reason. Possibly because I might be, possibly because I’m scared of doing it wrong even though I’ve accidentally coded multiple characters autistic. I’m scared of explictly tagging them as such, too.
27. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?
That I can remember off the top of my head? I’m going with one from @a-genz-with-trauma-and-kins. It really helped me out and was just so kind and literally the best christmas gift I got in 2020.
28. How well do you handle criticism when it comes to your writing?
I can handle it alright but Daeram is a little fucking pissbaby about it. Constructive criticism helps people get better, so I appreciate it. I can’t handle critism that is incomplete, though. “i just don’t get it” or “I don’t know I don’t like it” kind of things. If I can’t understand the why to fix it then things get out of control. And then I spiral and RSD for like four days minimum. If it came from an anon or a troll, too, It might not bother me for as long. Things that are just like “this is shit and you should feel bad” just make me laugh. Couldn’t even bother to read it long enough to insult me proper? I don’t care.
29. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?
I have a few times. Mostly in shorts and prompts, I think. I think they turned out okay. They’re not particularly inspired or anything.
30. Tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst?
Depends on my mood. Am I triggered? give me the fluff. Am I vibin? Angst.
31. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them!
Fuck, fam, no, I can’t, I have so many. I have multiple original stories and some of them have very large casts and like holy fuck. Or do you mean in Sanders Sides fandom? Um, Morgan and Thorn in PD. The lesbian and her himbo dynamic. I love them. They’re dorks. Morgan is strong person with sharp tongue and soft romantic heart and Thorn is just so kind and so dumb and so exciteable he’s like a puppy. They were just filler characters and I got attached to them. Felton even gets redemption for being an ass later in PD, like oof i never intended to include so much OC content, especially for names I just picked randomly.

33. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
an alter and I write together and I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen, what I’m writing about, or even what year it is. I often don’t even remember what I wrote. There’s no outline. I have an idea and I pick things at random for it. There’s just notes and an evil gleam in a demon’s eye. The only reason I know more than readers is because I take a long time to edit and some of these stories have fucking alters up in my head who can tell me things. Daeram tells me nothing. The writing demon supposedly has all this knowledge but I have absolutely no clue because he does not talk to me, he just fronts and slams out 9k in a few hours or we cofront to write and I’m like “oh no she didn’t” while typing
34. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.
i’m fond of the entire painful death series and I tried to find something I really liked without spoilers in stargazing and I couldn’t so here’s a random thing from incorrigble:
“So, what do you do with your friends?” Patton continued on with a megawatt smile.
“Grand larceny,” Virgil deadpanned and glared at Patton, who was taken aback. Remy and Andy just broke out laughing while Virgil tentatively sipped his still-too-hot-cocoa.

slopes my dudes slopes i have learned so much about cocaine! like wow! I thought for a minute it was going to end with MCD around 30k but it swtiched from whump to hurt/comfort and I still don’t know if it’s going to be MCD but look at that funky little coke/alcohol addict go, it’s a medical wonder he’s alive! It’s not like there’s what seems to be a little talked about interaction between alcohol and cocaine that causes a toxic chemical to build up in the liver which can result in liver failure and sudden death at basically any moment! Which is part of why it may result in MCD but this time no ghosts! maybe it’ll be h/c with whump elements or maybe it’ll be whump with h/c elements we can’t know for sure

FAQs 2020 Edition
Hey there, Wonderland Participants! As promised, here is your 2020 edition of Questions We Have Received. Some of these are repeats from blog asks or that we have previously answered, but this way it’s all in once place!
First though, a quick review of the dates and rules:

Sunday 08 November: Assignments will be emailed - these will arrive in the email inbox you provided when you signed up so if you did not receive a confirmation email from us we do not have a means to contact you with your assignment - please message the blog ASAP

This exchange is for good-hearted fun! Remember that you’re getting a gift, not ordering a commission.
Don’t be a dick.
Works submitted for this event have to be original works that haven’t yet been posted elsewhere in the fandom. Everybody deserves a new, unique gift!
Remember to keep your recipient a secret until your gift is posted.
This event doesn’t allow any works involving the Big AO3 Four (Character Death, Underage, Rape/Non-con, Extreme Violence). Just… this isn’t the place for it.
This event is open to all ages — with the caveat that participants under the age of 18 will not be allowed to create or receive sexual content.
This year we are allowing art and writing.
Fanart: Final pieces should be digitally consumable. This can include fanart, moodboards, and the like.
Fanfic: Absolute minimum 1000 words; no maximum; expectation between 1K-3K.
All works need to be complete before posting — this includes multi-chapter work.
Now, onto the questions we’ve received so far!
If we write a story best formatted as multiple chapters and finished by the deadline, can we post just chapter one on the day the story is due and each chapter on a new day thereafter or does an entire multi-chaptered work have to go up all at once?
The multi-chapter work must be complete by your posting date and must be completely posted by the end of posting. Basically, posting runs December 15-25th (dates overlap both Christmas and Hanukkah) - dates will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis by google form sign-up, and your entire work must be completely posted by December 25th. If you have many chapters, we recommend that you choose an earlier posting date so that you can post a chapter each day until complete and still be done by final posting date.
Will I get assigned to make either art or fic or do I get the prompts and choose which to make?
You will receive three prompts from your gift recipient and you may fulfill the request in whatever fashion you like as long as it respects the recipients DNWs. If you can make all three prompts into one art piece or one fic, go for it. You can focus on only one prompt. You can mash up two of the three! Whatever inspires you, we encourage you to get creative!
Are we allowed to combine our gift with a bingo fill if we can fit a bingo event prompt into the gift exchange prompt?
We are okay with this as long as the following conditions are met:
The work produced must prioritize the recipient’s request. If you can make werewolf den mothering and canon-compliant mission AU match up in a way that makes sense and that meets the recipient’s requests and DNWs, go for it.
The Bingo event is okay with prompts doing double-duty for our event and theirs.
The work created must meet the cumulative requirement for BOTH events. For example we are asking for 1-3k at minimum. If the Bingo requires 500 words, you would need to produce at least 1500 words to meet the guidelines for both events. It is hard to give an example of how that would apply to art, but the general idea is that you are creating a body of work which cumulatively meets the requirements for both events. Mood boards might need 6-8 images instead of 4, for example, or art might have a detailed background or full shading rather than a black and white sketch.Please use your good judgment with the idea that you are creating a gift for someone to enjoy in addition to filling a Bingo prompt rather than filling a Bingo prompt that you happen to gift someone.
Are threesome ships allowed for the exchange? As long as Clint and Bucky are prominently included? Can we put that as a request?
You can request an OT3 as part of your requests, but as this is a Winterhawk event your creator is under no obligation to fulfill any poly ships that are not Winterhawk. Additionally, the focus should definitely be on the Winterhawk aspect of the relationship.
When we will receive our matches?
On or before November 8th, depending on whether the mods can dig themselves out of the emotional black hole we’re all currently in to get it done early. We are working on matches every day!
How are matches made?
Matches are made through a very sophisticated system of: first we match up sensitive topic requests, such as ace/aro, trans, etc. with creators who are comfortable with those subjects and will treat them respectfully. Then we ensure that unusual DNWs (things that don't fall under the Big 4 or that aren't what most would consider 'common' DNWs such as abuse) are not matched with people who might accidentally include that DNW in a gift. For example, if you put werewolves on your DNW list, we aren't going to match you with someone who has submitted three werewolf prompts. That person likes werewolves, and you don't! It's not a good match! Finally, we pray over the spreadsheet to the Random Number Generator Gods, and they spit out divinely reveal Random Numbers for us to match. Entry number 1 gets matched to holy Russian Roulette entry number 25! Unless one of those already has been matched, that's the pairing that gets emailed out!
This is the fairest way we have come up with to do the matchmaking, but if you receive a prompt you absolutely feel you cannot create for, please reach out to us and we will see what we can do about resolving the situation, whether that means we make a matching change, or we ask the gift recipient for new prompts.
How do posting dates work?
After the second check in, a Google Form will be emailed out to all participants - you will be able to choose a date on the form that you would like to post on, running the entire length of the posting period (December 15-25th). There will be a limited number of slots per day (4-5 spots) and they will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Again, we recommend that if you have a multi-chapter work and would like to post a chapter per day/every other day that you sign up for an early posting date so that your work is completely posted before the event ends December 25.
What are the Check-Ins?
Just a way for the Mod Team to check in with participants to ensure things are running smoothly. We will ask you how your gift is coming along, if you’re having any trouble we can help with, and if you have any concerns you would like to voice.
The second check-in is going to ask you to be a little more specific about your progress towards completion, and it will give us as mods an opportunity to offer you help if you need it - cheerleading, beta readers, etc.
What if I need to drop out?
Please, please, please let us know as soon as possible. We have pinch-hitters on standby, very willing to step in if needed - we understand that things happen! We will not even ask you why you need to drop out, we will just say thank you for letting us know and then we will pass your recipients prompts on to a pinch hitter. No drama at all, and nothing to feel anxious about. No one will even know that you dropped out unless you tell them. Gifts are kept anonymous until posting day, and your recipient will still receive a gift regardless of whether you are able to provide it or not.
