Have you ever thought to yourself: Yee howdy, I wish I could know what everyone thinks of my favorite character, and I also wish we could all definitively rank them in popularity based on the whims of the public? Then do I have the thing for you!
Right out the gate, it's time to vote for favorite characters. The votes for favorite NPC (human) and favorite NPC (other) will be running alongside each other, with the vote for NPC (other) starting a little later to make them both finish at the same time and end in an epic dual victory.
I have chosen to split them up because there's a lot of NPC's and we can expedite the process somewhat by having separate tournaments running alongside each other.
Humanoid creatures such as Pandorians residing in the circus will be counted as humans because that's how they choose to present and I will respect that.
Certain conditions apply regarding characters added to SSO just to host races, NPC's that are named but do not take part in quests, and characters from earlier games. these characters will not partake because the list is so. long. already.
Every poll will be accompanied by a picture and a brief description to refresh your memory, so don't worry if you can't remember them just by name! If you have any concerns or can't see your favorite NPC anywhere, send a message or an ask.
The first NPC (human) tournamnet will take place over 3 sessions of 40 posts per week, because it's 120 posts and I don't want to overwhelm you with that many posts. Once we've narrowed it down to 60 favorites it will be split into 2 sessions, and once we've only got 30 contestants left, I'll post them all in one go until a winner is declared. That's also when the NPC (other) polls will be posted.
Who will go up against who is randomized and can be found under the cut.

Our song #interstellar (67) being included in this legendary podcasts #bestof2023 playlist was the best thing to happen all year. Thanks again #DJAbsurd. (Darren Shabat) You're greatly appreciated. I've got something else cookin, too.
Gary Oldman is not a nice person. He’s a former alcoholic, been accused of spousal abuse, he’s misogynist and thinks Mel Gibson’s behaviour falls within acceptable guidelines. Everything I’ve ever read about him says he’s a creep in real life.
He’s also a brilliant actor.
When you have someone who’s an utter prick playing an utter prick, it turns out that they are very convincing in that role. Oldman’s character, Jackson Lamb, in Slow Horses needs to be convincing, but you don’t need to like him, which is good, because I don’t.
Yet, amazingly enough, despite the fact he apparently never bathes or uses deodorant, eats “like a dying horse”, chain smokes and drinks, and treats everyone he works for or who works for him like garbage, Jackson Lamb isn’t the biggest prick in the series. He’s not even the worst prick in his little enclave at Slough House.
He just gets the best of the one-liners. It’s quite something to see :)
If Slow Horses’ appeal rested on Oldman, I wouldn’t watch it, and to be honest, if I hadn’t got 3 months’ free Apple TV subscription with my new iPhone, I wouldn’t have paid to see it because Oldman is just so vile. But being able to see it for free, I’m glad I did watch it, because the cast is amazing - come on, Saskia Reeves, Jonathan Pryce, Sophie Okenado, Jack Lowden and Kristin Scott Thomas all in the one show? - the writing is very, very sharp, there is zero bathos, and it makes John Le Carré look like a writer of cosy mysteries.
There are two more seasons to come, not yet available to view, and the preview indicates that the makeup people got the order that Oldman didn’t quite look gross him up, so let’s make him look even more revolting.
Highly recommended, even though I think Gary Oldman needs to be dropkicked off the face of the earth. I’ll sit back and wait for more anonymous abuse for liking something problematic like I got after daring to enjoy the latest Strike series.

Papoose presents 50 Years of Hip Hop – A Celebration of What's to Come – the 40/40 Club – New York, NY – April 13, 2023
The 50th anniversary of hip-hop marks a significant milestone for a cultural movement that has transformed music, fashion, and art across the globe. Originating in the South Bronx of New York City in the early 1970s, hip-hop emerged as a voice for marginalized youth to express themselves through music, dance, and graffiti art. Since then, hip-hop has become a cultural phenomenon that continues to evolve and break down barriers. Papoose is a rapper who has made significant contributions to the hip hop community that goes beyond music.
The Brooklyn rapper gained popularity in the early 2000s for his mixtapes which showcased his natural talent for storytelling. His intricate wordplay and lyrical ability earned him a loyal fanbase in the underground hip-hop scene. His dedication to preserving the genre's history and legacy has cemented him as a pillar in the community, making him a perfect fit for the role as Head of Hip Hop.
On January 24th, 2023, TuneCore, the leading digital distribution and music publishing service for independent artists, announced a new partnership with the legendary rapper, naming him Head of Hip-Hop for the company. In his new role, Papoose will report to Andreea Gleeson, Chief Executive Officer, and will lead the company’s Artist Ambassador program for Hip-Hop, making him responsible for scouting rising talent, overseeing artist education and act as a brand advisor for TuneCore.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Hip-hop, Papoose and TuneCore linked up to commemorate the incredible milestone and celebrate the rap giants belated birthday and new role as Head of Hip Hop for the music platform. Held at the notorious 40/40 Club in NYC, the event pulled in hip hop juggernauts and various pioneers in the community, including Remy Ma, Fabolous, Jim Jones, Ja Rule, Melle Mel, Doug E. Fresh, Mona Scott Young, Consciousness, Rocky Bucano, Bishop Whitehead and many more. Throughout the night DJ Trase spun tracks from the 80's-90s, setting up the perfect tone for a night of nostalgia and celebration.
To kick off the event, Rocky Bucano from the Universal Museum of Hip Hop presented Papoose with the "Hip Hop Artist Executive Award," recognizing the artists contribution to the genre and the community. To open up the lineup of performances, Papoose introduced his TuneCore recruits, rappers Manson Thugication and K Goddess.
The up-and-coming rappers set the tone for the night with raw lyricism and flow that only native New Yorkers bare. As the night went on Papoose introduced icon after icon to the stage, including Melle Mel, Ja Rule, Fabolous, Jim Jones, Maino, Remy Ma and Doug E. Fresh. Each bringing energetic and captivating performances that instantly brought the crowd back to the golden era of Hip Hop.
As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, we reflect on its impact on society and culture, and recognize the contributions of the pioneers and visionaries who have helped shape the progressive movement. We look forward to seeing what Papoose’s new role at TuneCore will do for the community and wish him a happy belated birthday.
