The first time I ever heard of the Gugs from Lovecraft it was Wayne Barlowe's illustration so that's what they look like to me, sad pink mole rat gorilla guys with vajinus mouths
Tumblr media
Thing is that's exactly how they were described in the books, with big bony brow ridges and giant hairy "paws" and a mouth that's just sideways "from the top to bottom" of their head
Tumblr media
But positively EVERY other depiction I've ever seen opts for the whole head splitting open, and yeah that's a cool look too, but are they just doing that because they can't resist pushing each characteristic to an extreme or are they afraid to depict something with a mouth that looks like a vaginer??? Give the gugs their gussies back

I can't remember if I've posted abt this before but regardless: I'm sorry but I really and truly cannot get behind the idea that there is any wide-scale societal "pressure for trans men to be feminine" or "to be twinks" or whatever. You are either conflating a very small online community's beauty standard (usually some kind of transmasc pseudo-appropriation of "femboy" aesthetics, which yes, are often Bad and regressive and fetishized and etc.) with Mainstream Society, or confusing society not wanting trans men to transition with "wanting trans men to be feminine", which are certainly not the same thing. Ultimately if a cis person believes there is any validity to the concept of being trans (i.e. not a Posie Parker-esque "there's no such thing as a trans person" type), they are more likely to think that trans men should be like as masc and buff and hairy as possible or whatever bc that's what cis people think men look like and it's easier for a lot of people to recognize someone who Looks Masc as a man. It is difficult sometimes to see derision of trans guys who are Too Feminine and Not Hairy Enough or whatever (which is not always something someone has control over btw) as anything but "this is Skye who I think is a confused little girl because Skye does not pass" slightly restyled for 2023 "filthcore fagdykes" or whatever lol

Dysphoric culture is wanting a phalloplasty without a vaginectomy and not being able to find any doctors who've ever done it, and then crying because you know your ideal configuration apparently isn't a thing that happens.
I want to keep my vulva/vagina, but I still want a penis, and I can't tell you the amount of times I've cried because I don't think this type of surgery is even done or, if it is, done in the US at least. It sucks so much.
Dysphoric culture is!
Also anon, great news: this surgery is real! It’s called vagina-preserving phalloplasty or VPP.
There aren’t a ton of surgeons who perform it in the US but some (from the Crane Center in California) are listed here. There’s also someone in New York that talked about getting a vagina-preserving metoidioplasty in a news article but mod doesn’t know who their surgeon was. More info and some more surgeons are here.
More people are getting nonbinary bottom surgeries so there are slightly more resources around now. Good luck anon!
(For those wanting the opposite of this, phallus-preserving vaginoplasty exists too.)

Trans women before they found out they were trans were probably saying disgusting shit about vaginas and the female reproductive system and once they find out that they're "women" they get onto afab people for talking about the female reproductive system because it invalidates them since they weren't born with it

so i wanted to make a post about harry and orchids, since he chose that as his visual during she on this leg of love on tour. there i was, expecting to find pages after pages of symbolism on orchids and how they represented sensitivity, femininity, elegance, whatever. no, it's just. it's. it couldn't be more harry if i tried:
Tumblr media
versus
Tumblr media
the orchid. a flower many disagree upon whether it looks like testicles or a vagina. for SHE. the song where the man pretends to know what he's doing with his life but really wants to sail out to sea and never return bc all he can think about is that where he stands, where he sleeps, it's really she.
the orchid. a flower that is so widespread across the globe that every culture has a different meaning attached to it. spread wide open for interpretation. it can go from love to sex to femininity to fertility to complexity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the visuals on harry's screen are delicate. they echo along with the chorus, whenever the word 'she' is iterated. the positioning of the screen might even remind one (me) of a pair of legs, open wide, revealing their most intimate parts (esp in the first pic in this post). and then there's harry, standing right at the centre. middle of the stage, singing these lyrics.
she lives in daydreams with me she's the first one that I see and I don't know why I don't know who she is lives for the memory a woman who's just in his head and she sleeps in his bed while he plays pretend

I love all your kyman hc's so much!!!!😭❤ I just need to hear more, so here are my questions: if kyman got married how would they act around each other? And do you think they'd adopt kids and if yes: what would they name them? And would they raise them jewish or christian or both?
Aaahhh I know there are too many questions I'm sorry 😭😭
Don’t apologize, I love talking about kyman :D
Regardless of context, the core of their dynamic is: Cartman is the instigator, Kyle reacts, a little back and forth, escalate the issue to Nth degrees of insanity, Kyle lands the final blow. Though sometimes, depending on the issue, Kyle lands the last punch thinking he’s won, only for Cartman to win the war last minute. Another way the show’s mixed things up, is that Kyle’s victory is undermined either by South Park itself, or Cartman. I see their marriage as an opportunity to expand their unique dynamic and introduce new plotlines/ jokes that couldn’t be done if they were still kids.
I see Cartman taking Randy’s place as the adult that’s always up to no good, the fixture of South Park’s weirdness. self serving hijinks flare up just about every week. Meanwhile, the Sharon (or straight man) to offset that cannot be anyone else but Kyle. This time however, unlike the marshes, and perhaps most couples in South Park, the Brofloski’s are truly in love. That’s kinda the joke. The couple that started out insulting each other and trying to kill each other on multiple occasions end up in the happiest relationship. I see them fitting nicely among the pantheon of sitcom couples— Mitchel and Cameron, Marge and Homer, Ralph and Alice, Gomez and Morticia. Their relationship, in Trey fashion, pays homage to and in the same breath, mocks those classic couples.
TLDR, Their dynamic is in tact, it’s just evolved to a new label. Instead of sort of friends-ish, they’re a couple. They’re still loud, obsessed with each other, fight over issues, hang out and share similar tastes. Only this time they got rings on their fingers. And if they don’t fistfight, how do they deal with their classic arguments? Well, like any sensible american couple, of course! they fuck each other’s brains out! ( just kidding. I have this vision of Cartman doing the most outrageous shit and Kyle chasing him offscreen in anger, Cartman shouting “domestic abuse domestic abuse!”)
I’m not sure what they’d name their kids. Does it matter? I do know what personalities I’d like them to have though— the 1st, their oldest, is outgoing, entitled, bossy, manipulative, a performative people pleaser, makes everyone’s problems their responsibility, and is quick witted. (A 2w3) Much like Eric, they are exceptionally charismatic and love being in the limelight. And like Kyle, they love getting involved in the lives of others, seen as helpful. The 2nd child is less outspoken, prefers to keep opinions to themselves, a dispassionate observer. ( poster child for 8w9) Like Eric, they’re materialistic, and prone to laziness. Still, they are an intellectual like Kyle, and far more principled in comparison to their sibling/Eric. They’re probably the most capable and dangerous in the family. They don’t shoot themselves in the foot like Cartman, and they don’t fight against the currents of South Park like Kyle. If they wanted to, they could take over the world and succeed where the Brofloskis failed. They just don’t care though lol.
I could never, ever see them as a two religion household. Yeah, Cartman has been portrayed as a bigoted Christian (or in his words, “[used] Christianity as an excuse to be a piece of shit”), but carrying that extremity to adulthood isn’t as funny. I don’t know how to articulate that other than, many extreme right wingers on twitter weren’t able to read Cartman’s bigotry in Cupid Ye as hyperbolic and instead took it as fact, and praised the stuff he whispered into Tolkien’s ears. His actions in Cissy were recently trending and was seen as heroic and like, justification why trans ppl can’t use whatever bathrooms they want. You can’t escalate the crazy stuff from real life anymore— it’s become reality. So the funniest thing to do, is either personify it as something else or, run in the opposite direction. If anything, PC has shown us that it’s funnier that the very same kid who once belittled Judaism in fact, became devoutly Jewish and proceeded to rub it in everyone’s faces rather than him ending up as some evil businessman. You rob bigots the chance to idolize Cartman, but give Cartman the freedom to hone his brand of idiocy on other things. So! Kyle slaps the antisemitism outta him, they get married, bam. They are a Jewish family.

Men can have vaginas. Women can have penises. Being a lesbian is not about "only liking pussy". Being gay is not about "only liking dick". Those are transphobic and intersex exclusive statements.
The "sex" in "sexuality" is not referring to assigned sex at birth or the most common presentations of assigned sex genitalia. It refers to sexual attraction. Queer sexual attraction is gender and/or shared queer experience based. Gender is not the same as assigned sex at birth or genitalia. If your personal sexual attraction is based on assigned sex at birth and specific genitalia and you use a queer sexuality label you are appropriating that label and participating not only in transphobia and intersex exclusion from queer communities but also in homophobia.
Stop appropriating queer sexualities and then trying to kick out people who actually belong under that label because you want to make a little exclusion based bigot club for yourselves.

you know how ive told you guys that people think im homophobic when i make gay jokes because they cant tell im a lesbian? well, maybe you dont, but it happened again and idk what to do. i made a joke that from a straight woman, would sound homophobic, and i made it in a gc with my two best friends and their other friend. we’re all gay, and the other friend knows i’m a lesbian- after i made the joke i literally clarified. but he got mad and kicked me out of the gc and i can’t join again and i’m literally so confused because i keep getting accused of being homophobic… i literally love women, i have a girlfriend

as a non-binary person. people misusing afab/amab pisses me off SO bad. like. what someone will be TRYING to say is “I was talking to someone who, based on their physical appearance, is likely to be socially perceived as a man” and instead they’ll be like “I was talking to someone who’s amab” and it’s like. did they tell you that? did the bus driver pull out their original birth certificate and show it to you during your conversation? were you there in the hospital at their birth? likely not!!
genuinely as a genderfunky person if you absolutely MUST gender me I would rather you looked at me and called me a woman/man if that’s what you think I look like than you look at me and decide that you think I was born with a vagina/penis.
but generally you probably don’t need to be gendering the person you’re speaking about at all! just say they’re a person! if their appearance matters think long and hard about WHY it matters. because most of the time the answer is that it shouldn’t!
if it matters strongly to you what this person looked like… then just say that! “I was talking to someone whom I perceived as a man.” like. I GET that it’s a little wordier but it’s way less cringe to use a few extra words than to use a shorthand that’s not meaning what you’re trying to say.
