This is also my first ever x reader story, I’ve always done OCs when writing on other platforms so be patient with me please! Thank you and love you guys! <3
Prompt: after everything that happened with Peter had finally been resolved it was time to watch over Lydia, unfortunately not everything goes to plan.
————————————————————
You were sitting in the hospital waiting room with Stiles, who was unfortunately snoring and very clearly dreaming about Lydia. Stiles rolled over in the chair, mumbling some nonsense you could care less about. However, it still made you chuckle, he’s been in love with her since you could remember and while you wished he would just leave it alone you knew he couldn’t.
Melissa walked through the door with Lydia’s father, he glanced at you and Stiles before pointing to you guys, “He’s been here all morning.” Melissa’s eyes met where the man was looking, “He’s been here all weekend.”
You chuckled and looked over to Stiles just in time to see him unknowingly freak out a poor staff lady with his sleep talking, “Sorry, he’s little… well as you can see, an odd sleeper.” She rolled her eyes before walking away, clearly not wanting to be bothered. You bumped Stiles in the stomach with your elbow and he shook awake making the balloon that was tied to the chair swish in his face.
“I’m going to get going, I’m exhausted and these chairs were not made for sleeping, even though you seem to have figured it out.” He glared at you before sitting up completely, “Did you want me to drive you home?”
You shook your head slightly, “No, don’t worry about it, Melissa’s house isn’t too far from here and I could use the fresh air after everything that’s happened.” He nodded understanding what you meant, from Scott’s werewolf problems, to Peter being an absolute menace to our grade point averages, and to top it all off your new abilities that awoke when Scott was bitten (you guys still have no idea what it is), it seemed that you guys didn’t even have time to breathe for a while.
“I’m just going to let Melissa know that I’m heading home and then I’ll be on my way,” You smiled and with a wave exchange between the both of you, you turned and made your way to the front door, where Melissa was standing behind the desk. You gave your parting words and she gave the motherly warning of “be careful” that you’re beyond used to at this point.
You see you are Y/N L/N, no relation to Melissa McCall or her son that you’ve known since you learned to talk, but your parents were in some accident when you were little and from then on Melissa and Sheriff Stilinksi took care of you. At first it was just them switching off every few weeks, then after Scott’s dad left you stayed exclusively with the Sheriff and when Melissa was able to move on from that event she took you in completely. You’ve been with her ever since, Stiles and Scott were like your brothers, always there for you when you needed it. Never made you feel like you were the odd one out, even though you were. That didn’t matter though, because you had all you needed, the perfect family in your eyes.
Your thoughts got interrupted by the sound of a machine, you turned your head in the direction of the sound only to realize you had reached the cemetery without realizing and it was Isaac Lahey working the machine. ‘His dad must’ve made him work a night shift, again.’
You actually knew the boy pretty well, you were in Chemistry together, even had a project you two were paired together for. He was such a sweet guy, insanely cute too although that you would never admit to anyone but yourself.
You knew to a slight degree of what his dad has done to him, you wanted to tell someone but the tall boy had a panic attack at just the thought of the idea. He said it was because if things were to go wrong he couldn’t bare the thought of his dad trying to hurt you.
You decided you were gonna stop by and keep him company for a while before making your way back home. You walked into the dark graveyard, making your way towards the rig that Isaac sat on so clearly focused on his work. He only noticed you when you raised your hand in the air and let your voice ring out.
“You seem quite focused over there, you wouldn’t mind some company, right?” You questioned with a slight smile on your face.
You could see his eyes just so slightly light up to the point where you could’ve probably made yourself believe you imagined it. “No, no, I wouldn’t mind, so long as you don’t mind being slightly uncomfortable in this one person seat.” He smiled so softly and you have to admit it made your heart flutter ever so slightly.
You put your hand over your heart and with a sarcastic look and tone you gasped, “Oh no, stuck in a one person seat with the ever so charming, Isaac Lahey? How ever will I cope?” He chuckled at your response and reached a hand out for you to take.
“Thank you my dear Prince Charming.” You said with a fake accent.
“Prince Charming, huh?” He inquired while holding onto your hand. You smiled and gave him a proud nod, “Yep, only a prince would allow a peasant like me to sit in this amazing contraption.” You gestured to the yellow machinery. He huffed amusedly before silently going back to his work and for the next ten minutes you both just basked in each other’s presence. You looked down and saw your hands still interlocked, you could almost feel your heart stop in that moment. Without even thinking more about it, you gave Isaac’s hand a small squeeze and right away you felt him squeeze your hand back.
You looked up at him, “Hey Isaac?”
“Yes, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing! I just was wondering if maybe you-”
Your phone rang before you even got a chance to finish, you sighed and gave him an apologetic look to which he shrugged it off in a light hearted manner. You looked down at your phone, which was still ringing, only to see a name that instantly made you worry.
Stiles?
Why would he be calling right now?
You answered the phone, only to hear the stuttering and chaotic mess that is the young Stilinksi boy, “Y/N!” You pulled the phone away from your ear, it caused Isaac’s head to snap to you, his eyebrow raised.
“Stiles, what could you possibly need right now, I’m kind of busy,” You huffed.
“LYDIA!”
“Lydia? What about Lydia?”
“She just left out the hospital window!” Your eyes widened, “She WHAT?”
“Yeah you heard me, look I’m gonna come get you, Scott already knows so we’ll regroup and find her.”
“There’s no need to come get me, I’m not that far right now, I’ll be there soon and then we can get Scott,” you glanced at Isaac hoping he wouldn’t be upset at the situation but he just gave you a look that said ‘it’s alright, I understand’ and you knew it would be okay.
“How are you not home yet?”
You sighed, “Now’s not the time, okay I’ll explain to you later.” You said your goodbyes and hung up the phone.
“Isaac, I’m really sorry but I have to go it’s an emergency,” you looked at him as he gave you a slight wave off, “It’s alright, I’ll see you at school.” You gave him a smile and without a second thought you kissed him on the cheek and hopped off the rig, starting your jog back to the hospital. “I’ll see you at school!”
Little did you know, you left the tall boy slightly red with his hand on his cheek.
————————————
a/n: andddd that’s part one, i thought about doing the full episode in one part but i feel like that’s a lot to read over. Tbh none of this has been read over either lol ANYWAYS let me know what you think and if you see any mistakes let me know!

Issac Lahey x Reader : Secrets
Issac Lahey x witch!reader ;
angst ( lil' bit) ;
Tumblr media
Issac Lahey had just one friend, i.e., you.
The poor troubled boy always had trouble in his plate with his father after his brother was slain in combat, as Mr. Lahey always blamed his younger son for the elder one's death and there was no form of physical and mental torture he didn't inflict upon.
You were Issac's neighbor and his only escape from the reality.
You both were close knit until the day he became a werewolf, thanks to Derek Hale.
You knew Issac was a werewolf he moment you watched him bump on Scott aggressively in the lacrosse field. The bite had worked.
You were a witch yourself, the bloodline from a famous coven of them, so you knew the supernaturals. And not to mention you knew Derek Hale very well, the new Alpha in town, whom you saw more as an elder brother than a wolf.
You were working with him from the shadows and even if he didn't admit it, Derek knew he wouldn't have lasted long without you, his little witchy by his side.
Although you began contemplating whether it was right to let him be a werewolf while watching Issac taking the school in a storm in leather jackets and cocky attitude.
He had completely turned his back away from you after the bite had transformed him and was hanging out more with his fellow wolves ( as expected.)
What you didn't knew is that Isaac was doing it all just because he didn't want to hurt you or face the thought of you leaving him after knowing what he had become.
You knew deep down your heart that this was bound to happen, but it couldn't stop your stupid freakin' heart from bleeding.
You love him. You love Issac Lahey. You have loved him always.
And couldn't help but be jealous of Erica and the girls Issac flirted with.
How much you wanted to run to him and tell him you know what he is and reveal what you are.
But you couldn't.
Not until it's the time too.
And you resolved to give the same cold treatment he was giving you, after that.
______________________________________________________________
A loud crash was heard as Derek dropped to the ground, unable to get up. Isaac tries to defend his Alpha by charging when Allison comes in front of him and attacks with the ring knives.
What an idiot! you scoff.
The fight and dramatics goes on for a while until you decide to step in when Gerard yells, 'Kill them all!' after his body rejects the bite due to mountain ash.
'Phasmatos Ossox'. you mumble as your eyes glow purple and the Kanima, aka Jackson's bones start to break with huge sound and he drops Allison.
You let the spell last for a while because you don't want Jackson to die, even though you have a good amount of dislike for him.
'Y/N?' Scott gasps as you step in from the shadows.
'I had a plan too, McCall.' you smirk and send Derek a wink, who smiles smugly, standing up.
'What are you?' Allison asks, between her coughs.
'A witch, sweetheart.' you smirk, cockily. Your attitude catches everyone off guard except the Hales, who knew you were a girl with many shades.
Issac just stays rooted in his spot, shocked.
Peter scoffs in his place, 'Dearest nephew rubbed his dramatic entrances on others very well.'
At the end of the day, after all the drama, you all were in Derek's loft, with you being the centre of attraction, sitting on the table, with your legs dangling and the attitude of 'I own this place.'
'You're a witch? How come we didn't smell you? And why didn't you tell us?' Scott is the one who speaks after a long moment of silence.
'I can mask my supernatural scent very well. I always opted to stay out of trouble but couldn't help but involve when Derek became the Alpha. I owe Talia and him a lot.'
Derek smiles a bit from his spot.
Stiles screeches at the smile and turns to you, ' Why didn't you approach Issac then, when he was pushing you away? You knew right he's a were wolf!'
'Who do you think gave the idea to Derek of giving the bite to Curly?'
A ghostly smile crept on Issac's lips as he continued being silent.
Curly.
The damn old nickname.
And it flickered in him. Hope. Hope of getting you back and then you won't be refused when he'll apologize and ask for forgiveness.
' Am hungry! Der Bear, Mexican tonight!' you yell after the pack had dispersed ( after almost two hrs of interrogation), except Issac, whom you were avoiding, more clearly giving him back what he had given you.
It's going to be a long night.
But in the end, he will get you.
And he'll confess what he had been hiding for years.

Betrayal
Characters: Brett Talbot x male reader, Isaac Lahey x male reader
Universe: Teen Wolf
Warnings: None
"Brett! I need your help!” You called into your house when you opened the front door while your little brother was still in the car. When you looked at him - as you waited for your husband - you noticed again that your brother is not that small anymore. Big enough that you can't carry him on your own. Although these new procedures are slowly getting him back on his feet, walking or standing up without much help is still too much for him.
For a moment, you just stood in the open door, waiting for your man to come from somewhere, most likely shirtless. But even minutes later he didn't come.
Worried, you entered slowly and carefully. After all, you never knew if a group of hunters might have found your man. With your heart beating like crazy, so fast that it concerned you that all supernatural beings in a ten-kilometer radius would soon come to look at what was happening, you moved to the living room. As quietly as you could, you opened a hidden wall and pulled out one of your late father's guns. Your homemade miracle weapon is already loaded.
With that gun safely in hand, you first checked every room on the first floor, but nothing was there, no person and no sign of a fight... no signs at all. Now really worried, you started stumbling up the stairs, beads of sweat pouring down your forehead from the warmth of your body, almost obscuring your field of vision.
You took one of your hands off the gun to wipe away the beads of sweat. But it didn't help much. Soon there were more, which put even more concern in your mind.
After a few steps, you could hear a sudden noise. You couldn't really make out what the sound was, so you stopped and looked up and down the stairs to make sure no one was walking past you. At the same time, you listened carefully.
It was quiet again for a while. But as soon as the sound returned, you were already on high alert. It sounded like a groan of pain, as if someone -most likely Brett - was badly hurt.
Light as a feather, you bounded up the rest of the stairs, almost silently, your gun slightly lowered as you passed locked doors. The further you walked, the closer you got to where the sounds were coming from, making you tremble with fear that Brett was being tortured.
When you had to stand in front of the room where everything happened, your blood ran cold. It was... your bedroom? Your shared bedroom! The bedroom you are sharing with your husband! Who on earth is sick enough to torment someone in their own bedroom?
You stood there to make sure it was the correct room, and when you were sure: you yanked open the door, raised your gun, and searched the room. But once the bed you slept in just a few hours ago, with your husband by your side, is a sight you will never forget. "Mum?" Your voice cracked, calling out the only "parent" you had left.
She just looked at you lazily and grinned. At the same time, through her movement, you could see who was below her: whom she rode like a horse.
The first thing you wanted to do was shoot them both. Instead, you turned around and slammed the door behind you. Just to be safe, you locked your gun: so you couldn't shoot even if you wanted to.
Mumbling curses, hot salty tears pooling in the corners of your eyes. "Babe, wait! I can explain it!” You heard your husband's deep voice. Which just a few hours ago made you jump with lust. Now you made you want to strangle the bastard.
"I'm sure you have an elaborate, sad excuse for shagging my drug-addict mother who tried to kill me multiple times, spent the last ten years in prison, and paralyzed my brother."
He already knew all that. After all, there's no getting around not telling such important things like that. In the end, it would have come out anyway.
"She's clean and wanted to reconcile, one thing leads to another and-"
"Yet you fucked her, destroyed my trust in you, and asked me if she was the only one." At this point, you both were standing in front of your house - Brett was only in his underwear, though. "Let me guess. You two had a secret affair for at least six months. Because she is out of jail since then, she's most likely been telling you some shitty sob story about how my dad kept her away and used his contacts to get her into trouble, that she's actually the good parent."
From his silence, you could tell you'd hit the nail on the head, and you backed away in disgust. "She only loves herself. She never wanted to make up in her life, but I can tell you, she wants your money. She knows you're are loaded, and since she doesn't have access to my or my brother's money. She must have thought my hot bisexual husband might be an easier target. And unfortunately, she was right."
When you rushed over to your car, your brother sat in his seat in absolute shock. Although recent surgeries have been a success, and he has regained some control of his body, he still has a long way to go. Brett was like another older brother to him, a rock to both of you. Hearing your babble obviously upset him. But at this moment, you couldn't talk about it, too upset about the whole situation. So you just started the car, let Brett bang against the car doors as you rolled down the driveway, drove off immediately, and left him in the dust.
Kay didn't even look at you, too deep in thought. Subconsciously he played with his hands. It made you happy to see him moving at all and seeing him exercise when he was stressed made it even better. Even if he still has a lot of work to do before he can fully use any part of his body again.
For about two hours, you just drove around. But Kay began to whine about his body aching from being cooped up in the car the entire time.
You knew you had to crash somewhere. So you went to the only place you could think of. With a heavy sigh, you turned the wheel to head back toward the city you so badly wanted to leave behind forever.
Deeper into the city and not back to the outskirts, you were living a happy life until that wrench of a woman came back like the plague and destroyed it again.
You soon found yourself in a relatively newly built skyscraper. You carefully got your brother out of the car, put him in his wheelchair, and wheeled him into the lobby. The guard greeted you warmly and asked if he should warn him before you just stood to get to his door. But you waved him off and wished him a nice day after he gave you a visitor pass.
You knocked on the door quite softly; you visit so often. Someone scrambled inside but quickly got to the door. As soon as the door opened, the breath caught in your throat.
"Is everything ok?"
"Not really," you told him, almost throwing up at his feet. "Can we come in?"
He just stepped to the side because he knew you would tell him what was going on soon enough. "Can I go back to one of the guest rooms?"
"Of course, little buddy. You know where to go, don't you?" Isaac's smile was so bright as he spoke to your brother. It warmed and melted your heart at the same time.
Kay immediately used all his strength to roll over there. The moment you heard the door shut, you broke down: you cried ugly tears and fell to your knees. And all before your host could even react.
"Calm down! Your heartbeat is too fast!"
You hate his wolf hearing, you can never lie to him, and he always knows when something is wrong. He soon came to your side and pulled you into his arms. You've been a bit distant with him for the past few years after he's openly admitted to everyone about his feelings for you. Brett had no problem with your friendship with Isaac because he knew you only loved him. But you didn't see fit to get too close to Isaac under the circumstances.
He was right. Nothing had ever happened between you and Isaac. Now you hated yourself for it. You should have followed your heart when you fell a little in love with your childhood friend after a year with Brett, but you thought Brett would be a better husband. How wrong you were back then; you should have left Brett and gone to your childhood friend instead. After all, everyone knew your husband was a player, but you thought he'd changed, that you'd tamed him enough to remain loyal, but now you know it was just wishful thinking.
Isaac only held you for a long time, later even carried you to the couch, put a blanket over you, and even went so far as to make hot chocolate with little marshmallows: just as you like it.
"So what happened?"
You feared this question. But you knew it would come sooner or later. Suddenly your eyes went dry, and your sadness turned to numbness as if nothing had happened. It sends chills down Isaac's spine to see you like this. Fear overcame him, even trying to put some distance between the two of you, but you crawled onto him as if your life depended on it.
Sitting there, a frightened Isaac, and you, clinging to him, have told your story. That you believed for about two years that your husband had multiple affairs but could never prove it; On this day, however, you caught him in the act.
Isaac tensed up at the mention of an affair, but when it dawned on him that you had mentioned several, his face twisted into one with anger. But you weren't even in the best part yet.
Isaac knows your mother and how terrible this woman was to you and your brother that even the state didn't want to hand you over to her after your father died but had no choice until she paralyzed Kay. You were then emancipated and took custody of him. With your father's money, you could easily find a caretaker for your brother when he came out of the hospital or rehab.
So when you told him how you found her in your marital bed with your husband, he got up, pushed you back on the couch, and paced the room.
He cursed under his breath, cursing Brett to death, mumbling that he gave him a chance to be with you before he would've picked you up. And if he hadn't gone to France, you would have been certain that you never married Brett, but him: your childhood friend, first crush, and first love, even if it was just on your side.
As you saw his anger spiraling out of control, as he slowly transformed, you stood up yourself, but it was too late; cabinets and closets were his victims, poor wooden things.
"I swear if I get my hands on that little rat, I-"
Suddenly a loud knocking was heard. Both Isaac and you looked at each other in shock. They both seemed to know where the other side was, and neither wanted to deal with it.

Prompt//Get locked in somewhere together.
Liam Dunbar X OFC Lahey
TW: None?
Word count: 1469
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clara and Liam never got along. Since the first time that they met at school, they have despised each other. Clara thought Liam to be arrogant and hot headed while Liam thought Clara to be stuck up and a know-it-all.
They have been arguing back and forth for the past ten minutes and the rest of the pack is sick of it. Liam just brought Theo back insisting that he can help with The Wild Hunt, while Clara thinks that they should send him back to the Skin Walkers. While some of the pack agree with Clara, she is being harsher than needed.
“Are you really that dumb?! I mean, is there honestly nothing in that head of yours!?” Clara shouts while waving her hands around.
Liam's face is getting redder by the second. Everyone knows he wouldn't hurt her… again… But they can tell he's getting angrier and angrier by the second. “Well tell me what your great idea is, huh?” He steps closer to her “Just stand around while people get taken?!”
Clara doesn't back down and gets in his face “Of course not! But we should at least try and come up with something better. I mean, how could you be such a dumbass Dunbar?!”
Liam opens his mouth to respond but before he is able to get anything out Scotts steps in between them. “Okay. Okay. You guys are done.” Scott looks to Clara and points upstairs “You, go sit in my room. Take a minute to calm down.”
Clara sends one last glare at the werewolf and stomps up the stairs and slams the door. Taking a minute to cool off as her heart hammers in her chest, she decides to head to Scott's bathroom and splash some water on her face. Letting the cool water calm her down, her breathing and her heartbeat slows.
The door opens and Liam is pushed through, while the door slams shut behind him. He immediately turns around and starts shaking the door knob.
“This isn't funny Scott! Let me out!” he yells banging on the door. Clara leans against the bathroom counter and crosses her arms over her chest.
Scotts voice is muffled through the door “No. You two need to figure out how to get along. Me and the rest of the pack are sick of listening to you two bitch at each other all the time. Figure it out.” With that, Liam heard Scotts footsteps growing quieter and there was no longer a heartbeat to be heard.
Silence overtakes the room. The only noise to be heard is the sound of the bathroom fan that seems to be broken. After ten minutes Liam stops banging on the door and sits on the ground with his back leaning against the bathtub.
“This is all your fault, you know.” Clara states but doesn't look at the young werewolf in front of her.
Liam scoffed while picking at the lint off of his leans. “You're the one being a bitch. I don't even know why you're part of the pack.”
Claras nostrils flare. She was part of the pack because of her brother Isaac. When he was bit, he begged Derek to take his sister with them. She didn't want the bite, but Isaac couldn't leave her alone. They only had each other, so from then on she has been part of the pack. Helping in any way a human could.
It was Clara's turn to scoff. “You're right. I'm just a human, but how many times has this human saved your ass? Too many to count.” Liam rolls his eyes but doesn't say anything. It's true. Clara has saved him on multiple occasions. Clara was just a human, but her fighting skills amaze him. She can definitely hold her own during a fight. He just can't stand how she constantly has to be better than him, and how low she clearly thinks of him.
They have been sitting on the bathroom floor for an hour without speaking a word. Clara starts thinking about how when Liam is quiet he is actually pretty cute. She has always noticed how attractive he was. He is amazing at lacrosse. Watching him play is truly entertaining. They have gym together and sometimes he will do that thing where guys lift their shirt up to wipe the sweat off of their face, exposing their stomach. She cant lie and say she has caught herself staring a time or two, but then he opens his mouth and ruins it. He always has to be so cocky.
Liam knows that she is looking at him. He can always feel when her eyes are on him. She tries to hide it, but with being a werewolf he can sense it. Claras looks always make him nervous, though he will never admit it. She is beautiful and smart as hell. How could anyone not be nervous around her? When they were first introduced by their friend Mason, Liam couldn't stop staring. He was mesmerized. All he wanted to do was talk to her, but she didn't seem interested so instead he did what he always does. Act cocky. Needless to say, she wasn't a fan. From then on the two couldn't stand each other.
His butt getting sore from the hard ground, Liam stands up to stretch. His shirt rose some in the process.
Catching Clara's eyes he smirks. “Like what you see Lahey?” She presses her lips into a thin line. “Until you opened your mouth.” She spits and stands up while glaring at him. She wouldn't admit it, but sitting on the ground while he was standing above her was a little intimidating.
“You know what your problem is? You think you’re so much better than everyone.” Claras mouth gapes open. “I do not.” She whines while crossing her arms across her chest. This causes her breasts to press together and Liam struggles not to let his eyes wander, as she will definitely notice.
“You do. You always have to know everything and you're always correcting people.” He's towering over her now and she's backed up against the counter again. “Did it ever occur to you that I try so hard to know everything because I'm not supernatural like the rest of you and want to help!?” She exclaims, face hard as he takes in her words. No.. That never occurred to him before. He just thought she wanted to be smarter than everyone else.
As if calculating her words his head tips side to side slightly. Then a thought pops into his head. “Well, how come you hate me then? Since we met you decide you hate me.“ Deciding to tell the truth she looks up at him “Because. I hate cocky assholes. And you Liam are a cocky asshole. ” She yells at him, throwing her hands in the air.
“So you hate me?” He asks with the slightest hint of sadness, lacing his cocky tone. “Yes.” Her heart rate picked up and he heard it.
“You're lying, Lahey.” Liam responds with a smirk. The same smirk that she hates that she loves. “In fact, I think that you like me.” He presses closer to her, his nose centimeters from hers.
“I do not.” Clara breaths out.
“You're forgetting one little detail. I can tell when you're lying.” He looks from her eyes to her mouth and back.
Lips barely touching hers he hesitates for a moment. Giving her the choice to push him away. But she doesn't. Instead she throws her arms around his neck and pulls him as close as he can be, crashes her lips to his. He's quick to drop his hands around the back of her thighs and lift her up on the counter stepping in between her legs. She lets a squeal of surprise out when she's lifted.
Their kiss is heated. Hungry. Her fingers scrape his scalp pulling on the longer hairs on the back of his neck, as his hand wanders along her thighs and back up to her waist. Every inch of them is connected.
As soon as his hips come into contact with hers she lets out a little moan. But before they can go any further the bathroom door swings open. They pull away in surprise to see Scott standing at the door with a cocky smirk.
Clara is straightening her shirt and patting down her hair and Liam combs through his. Both of them flush from the heat of their activities.
“You two figure out your differences?” Scott asks with a knowing smirk playing on his lips. Both teens nod their heads. Too embarrassed to speak.
“Good.” Scott nods his head and walks away from the door frame. “Malia! You owe me $30!” He shouts leaving the two stunned teenagers behind.

BLUE EYED WONDER PT. 1 (Isaac x Witch!SO):
⚫️summary; Reader is a Hale, the only witch in the family, Derek comes back after turning Isaac and reader, who lives in her own home that Derek got her after the Hale House Fire, senses someone is there, resulting in her meeting her future boyfriend.
⚠️warnings; soft!Isaac vibes, witchcraft, reader being a bit too overprotective of herself, swearing, implied smut, boyfriend!Isaac, overprotective Derek, Hale family dramaa, etc.
February 2011, I walk into my house after getting home from dinner with Allison and Lydia but due to having grown up with werewolves my enhanced senses make me realize someone else is here. Eyes on full display of the dark living room, I drop my bag on the floor quietly and grab the knife under the coffee table. The lights flicker on and I lunge forward to the not one, but two werewolves that stood there, I quickly retract my knife before stabbing none other than my older brother, Derek in the chest.
“Derek! Why the fuck! What are you doing in my house?” I huff out as I toss the knife back on to the coffee table.
“Technically, I bought this place but anyway, I just wanted to check in on you. How was dinner?” Derek smirks watching the very annoyed expression on my face.
“It was fi- Who’s the blue eyed wonder?” I look around Derek, locking eyes with a tall light brown haired, blue eyed teen.
“He’s my beta. Isaac Lahey, meet Y/N Hale, my youngest sister. Y/N meet Isaac. You guys have been in the same grade forever.” I slowly started to remember the times we would bump into each other at school, at the coffee shop and the bookstore in downtown.
“Hey, nice to officially meet you.” I say as we both reach out our hands to greet one another and Isaac returns the greeting. My eyes flash red for a split second, catching both their attentions.
“Wait! Are you an alpha too?” Isaac grips my hand a little tighter and I chuckle.
“God no! I’m a witch. Long story but the family gene skipped me.. Happily.. No offense.” I say as they both begin to look offended.
“Anyway, the other reason i’m here is for your best friends. Scott and Stiles, where are they?” He says and I rolls my eyes stripping the jacket from my shoulders and taking a seat on the couch.
“I don’t know. What do you want with them? Nothing good I assume.” I snap back, keeping her my heart rate steady, knowing that both of them would be searching for a glimmer of weakness in me.
“You’re lying.”
“I’m not. Now once again, what do you want with Scott and Stiles?” Before Derek can answer Isaac steps up.
“We need to talk to them about an incoming threat. We’re not trying to hurt them.” Due to my extensive abilities I listens in on his heart for a change and believe him. Pulling out my phone, I quickly dial Stiles’ number.
“Y/N? Hey what’s up?” His voice rang over the call.
“I need you and Scott to come by my place. Derek needs to talk to you both.”
“Okay, sounds good we’ll be right over.” He hangs up and Derek walks over to the cabinet under the sink.
“Still hiding my whiskey all this time?” He says as he pours himself a glass. I scoff turning back to Isaac who was awkwardly standing by the door.
“You can take a seat if you want, I won’t bite.. Promise..” I smirk as he hesitated to sit but when he does, Derek walks back out.
It felt like hours until Stiles and Scott knocked on the door and the entire time I sat there reading over Lydia’s chemistry notes for the pop quiz we had coming up. Finally I heard the familiar knocking and shouted out that it was open.
“Okay! Hey, what’s up guys! What’s Isaac doing here?” Stiles struts through the door making his way past them and sitting next to me on the couch. Isaac shifting in his seat a bit seeing how cuddly Stiles was with me.
Derek explained what the issue was and a small argument erupted, me stopping it only seconds before fangs and claws were about to emerge. I begin notice Isaac isn’t just Derek’s right hand but also Scott’s friend, for some reason there’s a sense of trust in the air that’s undeniable. We continue to exchange glances until Scott finally gives in and tells Derek about the chimera and who he thinks it may be. As usual the first suspect being wrong.
The conversation ends abruptly with Scott reminding Derek that he’s not a part of his pack and Derek pouts, Scott and Stiles both bidding me their goodbyes. I suddenly feel Stiles place a small kiss to my head before getting up to follow Scott and catch a glimpse of Isaac’s sorrowful expression.
“We’re just friends by the way, more like siblings. Remember back in third grade when Scott ‘married’ us to one another at recess? We’ve been friends ever since. No need to worry.” I pipe up and Isaac attempts to hide his smile that had started to creep up his face.
“Why would I be worried?” He shot back.
“Because you like me. Obviously.” I stand up, making my way to grab a water from the fridge and he stands there frozen as Derek exchanged a look between us two.
“I like you? I barely know you.” Isaac says in an attempt to cover up his heartbeat quickening.
“Okay, you find me attractive whatever but, your heart racing says otherwise. So..” I reply taking a sip of the water and confidently making my way over to him.
“Okay, enough. Isaac, let’s go. We have business to take care of. Y/N, i’ll text you later.” Derek says before heading to the car and before Isaac can walk out he hesitates and I take the chance to grab his phone from his jacket pocket. I type in my number and hand it back to him.
“Text me, maybe we can hang out sometime, just us two?” I tilt my head to the side standing at the door while he slowly backed out of it. He chuckles slightly, nodding.
“Alright. I’ll text you. Nice to officially meet you, once again.” With that, I knew Isaac Lahey would be a significant person in my life. Not only the supernatural part of it though.
A/N: LMK IF I SHOULD KEEP THIS GOING! I LOVE MY MAN ISAAC SO I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE SOME SCENARIOS IVE SCRIPTED AS A LITTLE FIC. 🩷

First days of school came and went. Jason adjusted his hours at the diner, leaving himself only afternoon shifts and one full on weekend. The classes - well, some of them were easy, like History and English, some hellish, like Science or Econ (mostly due to their respective teachers), some awesome, like Math. He was with Lydia Martin, Jackson's girlfriend, in that one. They weren't particularly friendly, just nodding acquaintances. Jason wasn't sitting with them at lunch. It was just - that first day of school, he was still reeling from the party the night before. He wanted some quiet.
So he sat with an equally quiet guy, Boyd was the name he went by - and that's basically all he knew about him, because no parties were particularly into chatting.
He nodded at Jackson and Danny when he noticed them, same as with Scott and Stiles, or anyone else he met at the party. But that was, thankfully, it.
Between classes, he hang out at the bleachers, mostly. There were some kids who smoked there, but they left him alone and he did the same. He wasn't the only loner there, either. A curly-haired guy who was in Chem with him - Isaac - was napping in the sun there, like a cat. Somehow he was still pale as shit.
Jason had to wake him up one day - they had Chem next period, and the bell would be in a few minutes. But just as he put his hand on the shoulder, Isaac momentarily jumped up, wide-eyed. Almost fell off.
Jason backed away. It's not that he recognized something - there could be a lot of different explanations for such a reaction. Some people were more skittish than others. For some, yeah, it was a trauma response, but not necessarily domestic abuse.
"You okay, man?" he asked. "We're going to be late for the next class."
"Who are you?" Isaac asked.
"Greenberg, we have Harris's class together."
"Well, fuck off, Greenberg."
That was that. On the weekend, when Jackson and Danny were running with him (Jason did it every day, but not for physical training, but to calm down his mind), Jason tried to ask around Isaac's situation. It was honestly not his business, and Jason knew Isaac himself wouldn't be thrilled with it, but. You take a boy out of Gotham and all that.
"Lahey? Yeah, I know, we're neighbors," Jackson said. "You say he's sleeping on the bleachers? Figures. His dad is a big fucking asshole. He owns the graveyard, makes Isaac work for him."
"He was coaching the swimming team like six years ago," Danny added. "He was okay then."
"But then he drowned in a bottle, after half of his family died - first the wife, then Isaac's brother. So yeah, they kicked him out."
"Yeah?" Jason probed. "Is there anything else going on? Isaac looks kinda skittish."
Danny and Jackson exchanged a look.
"Isaac Lahey? He's one of the meanest SOBs at school. But yeah, I guess. My dad suspected that Lahey not only loved to drink, but also to slap his kid around. Reported it, even."
"And?"
"And nothing, Stilinsky's dad is as useless as the son."
And that was everything Jackson knew.
Jason, though, had the Sheriff's card, and had a notion to call him up for a reason, feel him out. It's just it didn't feel right to use Isaac for that reason. Jason knew firsthand how such cases can go south. Even if Lahey Senior was heavy handed and mean drunk. Even if he was brought up on charges and lost custody. It didn't necessarily mean a happy ending for Isaac.
So he tried to approach him first.
Isaac, for his turn, didn't eat lunch alone. He was sitting with a mousy kind of girl. Grey clothes, grey hair, no make up. He nodded at her when Isaac didn't respond to his greeting, introduced himself.
"Erica Reyes," she offered in return.
And then nothing else. Well, Jason could work with that. He really could. He started talking about himself moving here from the East Coast, how it took him awhile to get used to all the sun. Said he wanted to move to Los Angeles, after his parents died, because he had a friend there. But he couldn't afford it. So he chose Beacon Hills, found a job. Jackson's dad - you know Jackson, right - helped with getting out the foster system.
Erica looked like she didn't know why Jason was telling her his life story, but was too polite to stop it. Isaac, Jason noticed out of the corner of his eye, was still looking angry. But he didn't leave, so Jason counted it as a win.
"You know, most of the people who stay in shitty situations, they think they don't have options," Jason said. "I thought so for a long time, too. I had no relatives who could take me, or who I would trust to live with. And foster system - there are very different people there, who are in it for a lot of different reasons. I was scared. And I would understand if others were scared of it, too. But it's not the only option. I'm renting a loft on the Northern side of the town, by the way. The rent is pretty affordable, but I was thinking of finding a roommate, anyway. Do you know anyone who would be interested, Erica?"
Erica looked at him, then at Isaac. It wasn't a "You're in?" though, it was a "Can you believe this guy?" look.
"No," she said. "I will be sure to let you know."
Isaac said nothing at all.
Well, Jason knew his people skills were shit. Breaking heads were much easier than breaking convictions, for him. He wasn't like Dick.
So, he decided to do what he did best.
He did wait for the end of the week. Isaac started to go around when he saw him, much like he did with Stiles, Jason noticed. That didn't necessarily say anything about Isaac home situation, and could just as well be about Isaac finding volumous people who ranted in nonsequiter on random topics annoying.
Every night, Jason stacked out Lahey's house. He didn't hear screams or anything like that. He did follow Lahey father and son to the graveyard and back. Lahey was spending those nights in the office, and Isaac outside, digging graves with heavy machinery. No wonder he was always sleeping in school.
But, again, nothing criminal except for child labor.
And then, during the PE, Isaac's shirt riled up when he shot a ball in the basket. He had bruises on his hip. He tugged the shirt down and looked around. When he saw Jason looking, he scowled, then approached Coach Finstock. Jason didn't know what he has said to him, but Jason was running laps until the end of period.
On Sunday, when Jason had a day off at the diner, he broke into school. Checked Isaac's attendance records, grades all through elementary to high school. Medical records, what there was of them. His file from the guidance counselor office. It was all circumstamcial. Wouldn't be enough for the Sheriff to open the case. Might be why he didn't, when Whittermore first reported it. Jason found that he wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt - that Isaac's father was a bad apple, that Sheriff wasn't corrupt, or indifferent. That he really didn't have anything to hold Lahey Sr. for.
Jason broke into their home while they both were at the graveyard. Saw Cadmen's room. Practically a shrine. Saw Isaac's. It was minimalist, if Jason felt charitable. He wasn't particularly, no. He noticed the lack of any pictures of the dead wife and mother. Checked her death certificate - natural causes, apparently. Checked the computers, the DVDs in Lahey Senior's room. Nothing suspicious.
Nothing out of place in the whole house, as though it wasn't really lived in. He checked everything on the first and second floor. The only place he didn't check was the basement and the garage. There was little time before the owners of the house were due to get back, so he needed to decide, quick, where to go. He opted for the basement - breaking into a garage would be easier, he could do it later.
Turned out, he didn't really need to do it later. The basement held the prize - the evidence - that Jason was looking so hard for. But... He really wished he was wrong instead. That Gotham twisted him to see darkness everywhere, made him paranoid. Would that be fucked up? Sure. It would be much better than Isaac being locked in a freezer for god knows how long, though. Long enough that the nail marks changed their placement - long enough that Isaac grew up.
Yeah, he was calling the Sheriff, and if he lets Jason down? Jason would be paying Lahey household another visit, this time when the host was home.
***
Sheriff agreed to come by the diner. Joked about Jason not updating the blog for too long, Stiles cooking blanched broccoli again.
"I don't know what you mean," Jason said. "Blanched broccoli are delicious. But yeah, I was busy with something else. That's actually why I called you about."
They were sitting in one of the boots. Jason took his break early, now that there wasn't a lot of guests. He was drumming his fingers on the coffee cup that was on the table before him, waited until Sheriff drank from his own. Avoided looking at him.
"Everything alright, son? Someone giving you trouble?"
"No," Jason said, finally catching Stilinski's gaze.
He figured he pretended to be nervous enough, it got across. Now he needed to see Sheriff's reaction.
"Jackson Whittermore said, his dad already approached you about it in the past. It's about Isaac," he added. "I think he's in trouble at home."
Sheriff sighed and nodded, closing his eyes minutely.
"Whittermore called in a noise complaint. Privately shared his concerns. We checked the house, didn't find anything. Isaac refused to testify against his father. There was no bruises on him. So..."
"No evidence, no crime, huh? Well, Isaac has bruises now. And did you check all of the house? Did you check the basement?"
"What's in the basement?" Sheriff frowned.
"You will see."
"It doesn't work like that," Sheriff grimaced. "I can't just search his house without an order, and your testimony won't be enough, I'm afraid."
"You can, if you're called in again - for a burglary, perhaps."
Jason saw that the Sheriff got it immediately.
"Now, son, don't do anything rash - something like that gets on your permanent record, then even if you aren't tried as an adult..."
"Tried? They would need to catch me first."
"Me, it's me who would need to catch you."
"You won't, don't worry." Jason got up. "Anyway, I don't know what you're talking about. I was just talking hypothetically. I'm gonna be partying with Jackson and Danny on Friday. Half the school would be there, I'm told, except for Isaac, because Isaac never goes to parties. Or anywhere, really, except to graveyard. At night. Because that's apparently how his dad saves money on hiring adults. Just be sure to work on Friday, okay? There might be underage drinking, or something."
Sheriff didn't try to talk him out anymore. Anyway, that wasn't the test. Even arresting Lahey Senior wasn't the test. Jason practically gift-wrapped him for the Sheriff.
The test was, what the Sheriff would do with this later, with the information Jason allowed him to glimpse about himself.
***
The op went without a hitch. Jason showed up at Jackson's house, made a show of drinking cola out of the solo cup, talked to Danny for five minutes before taking a bathroom break. He got out of the window on the second floor, crossed to the Lahey's house. Broke from the back, making sure not to make noise but to set up the silent alarm.
When the cop car appeared on the street, he sneaked back through the same window. The party, when he went downstairs, was in disarray. People thought the cops were after them, maybe, because they ran away, leaving only Jackson, Danny and Lydia to quickly hiding any trace of alcohol. Well, the guys were on the clean up duty, Lydia was standing by the window.
"What's going on?" Jason took a trash bag and joined Danny in picking up the plastic cups, while Jackson was hiding the beer and the liquor.
"You were gone so long, I thought it was you who called the cops on us," Danny smiled.
It wasn't quite a joke, though, Jason saw it in how he wasn't quite turning his body to him, and the tense set of shoulders.
"Nope," Jason shook his head. "Was in the bathroom all this time. Beer didn't agree with me."
"You never even finished the cup," Danny said quietly, not looking at him.
"I'm a lightweight. Didn't I tell you before? My old man was very strict. I never partied before."
" Jason," Danny stopped. Stopped cleaning up, stopped smiling. "You didn't finish your cup. I know what you've been drinking. So unless you were forbidden any caffeine as well..."
"They aren't going here," Lydia said from her vantage point. "Something happened at the neighbor's place. Well, that's a waste of the evening."
She fell down onto the couch, petulantly crossing her hands over her chest. Jackson, after a few choice words, joined her there in a sulk.
Danny started to pick up the trash again, and Jason, too. Shit, he thought. Fuck. That's what you get for thinking you're smarter than others. No matter how experienced he was, this wasn't Gotham. He wasn't wearing any mask. What he did tonight could very much jeopardize his cover - his life. And he might have fucked up things with Danny, too.
"Hey," he said suddenly. "Everyone's gone, but you know what this means? More booze for us."
"You don't drink," Danny said.
"Sure I do," Jason insisted. "Starting now. What do you say, we play some kind of drinking game? Like, uh, put some sports on, and drink everytime your team has a goal... Or something..."
Jackson snickered.
"Cute, Greenberg. We're convinced. You know sports. It's when, uh, goals."
"No, no, let's do this!" Lydia clapped her hands. "But let's play truth or dare."
"Uh," Jason said.
"You don't want to play anymore?" Danny asked mildly.
"What the hell," Jason murmured. "I'm being peer pressured. I was warned about this. But sure, yeah, let's do this."
"You can't choose dare for more than three times in a row," Danny said.
"Is that a rule?" Jason raised his eyebrows.
"It is, now."
"Not an issue to me," Jason said. Like a liar who lies, etc.
But oh well.
***
Jason made a point of chosing only truth.
Danny made a point of not asking, actually, where he has been. It left Jason frustrated. Not that he planned on telling, or relished in an opportunity to lie to him - to them. But it was like Danny was driving home some point, and Jason was still missing it.
"Okay, Jason," Lydia said, after he chose truth again. "What's the worst thing you did?"
"I don't think I can answer that without my attorney present. Or even with him present."
"Your confession wouldn't be legally binding, though," Jackson pointed out. "So just - tell us. We won't testify against you in court, that would be hearsay."
Lydia ruffled his hair lovingly. Danny, Jason noticed, was looking at him with some guarded expectation.
"Alright," Jason said. "Let me think."
"Have you committed that many atrocities?" Lydia asked, huffing a laugh.
Jason shrugged.
"By whose standards? Society? Sure. Some parts of it anyway. My father? Definitely. My own? Well." He really went all over the list on his head.
He did commit.any horrible acts - in all those parallel universes. Killed people in cold blood. Attacked teenagers younger and much younger than him. Put kids into a danger's way, or at least proposed to.
Fucked with Bruce's mind, brought him to a breaking point, and he broke - just not in the way Jason expected or needed. But in a way that left Jason dead, Joker - alive, and laughing, laughing, laughing, while everything around them went up in flames from Jason's own bombs.
He smelled a sweet, mellonny aftershave. Felt a warm hand on his face.
"You alright, man?" Danny asked him, Jason heard, and the laughter was gone, the smoke was gone. "You don't have to answer, you know. You don't even have to drink anymore."
"No, it's alright," Jason said, taking a sip. "I just don't know what to choose. I did a lot of stuff I won't necessarily advertise. Some things may get me in trouble. It's just, by and large, I'm not ashamed of them. They weren't that much horrible, if they were done for the right reasons, yeah?"
"Did you murder someone?" Jackson opened his eyes wide. "Shit, Greenberg, if that's it, do me a favor and don't, in fact, tell us."
"Nah," Jason said.
Felipe, in this universe, was the only one - and even he wasn't Jason's murder victim per se. Manslaughter at worst. Jason really spooked him, when he tried to punch him in the face. Felipe was sampling his father's product on the regular, it was the same that night. He freaked, jumped back - only he was on the balcony, there was nowhere to jump but down. Eighty floors down. Was that Jason's fault? No, Jason reiterated. Gloria Stanson's suicide was his fault. Garzonas Jr was... A bastard nobody would have missed, except his father, who made him into this in the first place.
"No murder. I won't say I was always on the straight and narrow, but it never came to that."
"Is that why your father was so strict with you?"
Jason shrugged.
"Might have. He got me out from the streets, basically. Was worried that the streets would stay behind, underneath all that fleur he tried to drown me in."
"Street?" Lydia echoed.
"Well, yeah," Jason took another swing from his glass. "I'm - I was adopted, didn't I say?"
Jackson slowly shook his head.
"Well, I wouldn't, would I. I don't like to think about it. He was still my real father, you know, despite all his - paranoia, sometimes psychosis, that he projected onto me. Because he wasn't really worried that I'm going to start stealing again - he understood that it was just means to an end, for me. And he never acknowledged that he knew why I had two priors, or why my arresting officer let me go both times, after some time in the interrogation room with a turned off camera. Maybe he never knew, never suspected. We never talked about it. Anyway, that wasn't what he was worried about. He had this - mean streak in him. He was a good guy, you know, saving puppies, donating to charities. Soft spot for kids and outcasts, provided they weren't violent."
Jason closed his eyes. Didn't want to see their faces - pity, disgust, or just simple incomprehension. Didn't want them to see his eyes glistening, either. He ought to shut up, he ought to run away. But he wanted to tell them, tell someone - he wanted to stay.
"That's the thing. He didn't like violence, if exhibited by other people. Himself, he - that mean streak I mentioned? If you pushed his buttons, or if he was already on edge for some reason. Let's just say, he put more than one guy into intensive care. Although never in the morgue, don't think. He could stop in time. And me - well, he was worried that I wouldn't. That I will be like him - and I was, a bit, if you push my buttons. Kids, women, drugs, I don't like that. I don't like that at all. So he was worried that I'm gonna do something horrible to someone, something he had stopped himself from doing, just barely, always wanting. We shared that."
And then Bruce thought that Jason jumped all over the line he drew on the Gotham's quicksand. And Jason just fell down there. And drowned on a dry land.
Jason opened his eyes.
"Sorry, what I was saying?"
"It's fine, Jason," Danny said quietly. "You don't have to explain anything more. Let's get you some water, and get you to bed."
***
Jason stayed at Jackson's. He regretted drinking that night very much - not because of what he said, he didn't remember what he said. That was the problem; no, he made a recording of everything that went during the drinking game exactly for that reason, but still - a stupid risk. Almost burned his identity down.
But in a way, it made his alibi more thorough. He was very visibly hangover when a deputy took his statement. So, his story about drinking too much, puking his guts out upstairs, and then crashing at Jackson's house stood. No, sir, I don't know about any robberies. Are the owners alright? You can't say because of the open investigation, I see.
And that was that. Neither Lydia, nor Jackson or Danny brought up the events of the last night when Jason brought them to the diner, for the hungover cure breakfast Reddy swore by.
But Jackson sneaked at him glances all throughout. And when it was time for them to go, and for Jason to took up the shift, Jackson awkwardly half-hugged him before running after Lydia.
"We're cool?" Jason asked Danny with apprehension.
Do you forgive me for lying to you, he didn't say.
"I'm sorry," Danny said. "We shouldn't have made you drink."
"Hey, I made myself drink."
"Still. We shouldn't have continued asking you stuff after it became obvious that you're - sharing more than you would otherwise. I know what it's like, a bit."
"Over sharing?"
"Having a past," Danny said. "One I don't exactly advertise. Jackson knows, but that's because his father was my lawyer."
"You don't have to tell me," Jason shrugged. "If you want to do it just because it feels unfair - don't worry about it. You can tell when it feels right. It felt right for me yesterday."
"That's just whiskey cola speaking."
"Yeah, well. At least it was in a small group, and you guys won't talk about my sad street rat past, right?"
"Street rat, right," Danny said. "Of course. No, we wouldn't."
Jason knew Danny meant something other than that. Knew that those three probably figured out who exactly broke into Lahey's house, and why. Still. Danny said he wasn't going to say, and Jackson had some kind of emotion about it, so he probably wouldn't, either. And Lydia... Well. He just had to trust into her discretion. And anyway, there wouldn't be any DNA or fingerprints to tie him to the crime scene. Unless Sheriff Stilinski really cared about his office's closing rates, Jason was nowhere near hot water.
That's it, he said to himself. It's the first and the last time he was doing any kind of maskless Robin shit in Beacon Hills. Provided there were no red flags from the Sheriff, after the bait he fed him.
But Jason's worries about the Sheriff were moot. He still showed up at a diner once a week, talked with Jason for a bit - never about that conversation. But a bit about how Isaac was doing (foster placement with McCalls for now, looking into emancipation). A bit about regular stuff like asking about Jason's grades - steadily rising, and whether he was going to try out for the lacrosse team - he hadn't decided yet, needed to watch at least one game before that; he wanted to join cross country though. Stuff like that. Inconsequential, meaningless things that nobody else really asked Jason.
Things were quiet, up till at the tail end of the Fall, someone started to kill deer off in the Preserve.

Y/n sits in the chair besides Stiles in his dad's office. She had been invited by the Stilinski's to have dinner and, even if she wanted to, she couldn't say no to Stiles' big brown eyes. Noah takes a bite of his burger only to be disappointed by its contents. "Oh, what the hell is this?"
"Veggie burger." Stiles says.
"Stiles, I asked for a hamburger."
"Well, veggie is healthier. We're being healthy." He shows off his salad then glances at Y/n. "Well, most of us." The girl looks up at that, a french fry hanging halfway out her lips before she munches it.
Noah then lifts the paper lid on his other container that holds celery and carrot sticks. "Oh, hell, why are you trying to ruin my life?"
"I'm trying to extend your life, okay? Could you just eat it, please?"
"Tell you what, Sheriff." Y/n leans forward. "I will trade you five fries for a celery and two carrot sticks, and you stop complaining and eat your food. Deal?" She raises a brow at him. Noah thinks about it for a second then nods.
"Fair enough." Once the trading of items is finished Stiles speaks up again.
"Tell us what you found."
"No, I'm not sharing confidential police work with teenagers."
Stiles looks at the board behind his dad. "Is that it on the board behind you?"
Noah glances at it while Stiles cranes his neck to see it better. "Don't look at that."
"A'ight." He sits down again but moves right back to looking.
"Avert your eyes."
"Okay."
"Hey!"
"Just- it's just- I see- arrows pointing at pictures."
"Okay, okay, stop. Fine." The teens perk up a bit. "I found something. Mechanic and the couple who were murdered. They all had something in common."
"All three?" Y/n asks.
"Yeah. You know what I always say. One's an incident."
"Two's a coincidence." Y/n had been around them long enough to know this phrase.
"Three's a pattern." Stiles finishes.
"The mechanic, the husband, the wife- all the same age. All 24."
"Wait a minute, but what about Mr. Lahey? I mean, Isaac's dad isn't anywhere near 24."
"Which made me think that either A) Lahey's murder wasn't connected or B) the ages were a coincidence, until I found this, which would be C." He hands Stiles a folder and Y/n leans to look over his arm as he looks at it. "Did you know that Isaac Lahey had an older brother named Camden?"
"'Died in combat'." Y/n read from the file.
"But if he were alive today, take one guess as to how old he'd be."
"24." Stiles says. All three get up to look at the board closer. "Now what if same age means same class- I mean, did you think of that?"
"Yeah, yeah." Noah nods.
"You sure?" Y/n asks teasingly and he hesitates.
"Well, I would've. I mean, I- look I just got Lahey's file two hours ago."
Stiles looks at him in shock. "Two hours? Dad, people could be dying."
"Yeah, I'm aware of that. Thank you."
They look at the board again. "Same class." The Stilinski's look at each other and suddenly Y/n is dragged over to the desk where Noah puts some books and files down. They look through files and Stiles picks up a blue folder. "Okay, this is it. Class of 2006. They all went to Beacon Hills."
"Including Isaac's brother."
"All right, but so what if they all knew each other, you know?"
"Two of them were married." Y/n agrees.
"Maybe they all just hung out."
"Well, they could have had the same classes together. They could've..." Noah trails off when he sees something.
"What?"
"Same teacher." He moves a paper around for them to see that it shows Mr. Harris.
"Harris." Y/n grimaces. She really doesn't like the guy.
"They were all in his class?" Stiles asked.
"All four. And I don't know how Mr. Lahey fits in, but this- kids, this is definitely a pattern. All right, give me the 2006 yearbook. These names, we need faces." He starts calling someone as Y/n grabs the book.
"Which ones?" She asks.
"Everyone in that Chemistry class. If the killer's not done killing..."
"Then one of them's next." Stiles says.
"Yeah." Then he gets an answer on the phone. "Yeah, it's Stilinski." After a bit of her and Stiles finding the people in Harris' class she got a message from Scott saying he needed her at the clinic.
"I gotta go." She said once she looked at it. "I gotta help at the clinic for a bit tonight."
"That's fine. Thanks for the help, Y/n."
"No problem." She smiles at the Sheriff and then turns to Stiles. "I'll see you later, yeah?"
He nods. "Yeah."
"Great detective work, guys." She gathered her things and then gave Stiles a quick kiss. "Love ya!" She called as she dashed out the door.
Stiles looked after her wide-eyed for a moment with a little love sick smile before he looked back at his dad who was smirking at him. He realized that his dad just saw and heard that and he busied himself with the files again. "Shut up." But he still had a smile on his face.
...
Y/n got to the clinic just as Scott left the room to open the front door for someone. "Hey." She greeted Alan. "Meeting with Derek Hale?" He nodded. "This should be fun."
"What's he doing here?" She heard Scott ask.
"I need him." Derek answered.
"I don't trust him."
"Yeah, well, he doesn't trust you either." Isaac's voice said then.
"You know what? And Derek really doesn't care. Now where's the vet? Is he gonna help us or not?"
"That depends." Alan leans on the doorjamb with Y/n next to him. She nods her head in greeting to the newcomers. "Your friend, Jackson. Are we planning to kill him or save him?" Derek said 'kill him' at the same time Scott and Y/n said 'save him'.
"Save him." Scott enunciates at Derek before looking back at Alan. "Save him." They all go into the back room and stand around the metal table, Y/n and Alan on one side, the werewolves on the other. Y/n places a tray of glass bottles filled with various things on the table.
Isaac goes to grab a bottle to look at it when Derek grabs his wrist and yanked it back. "Watch what you touch." He warns. While Alan looks through the bottles to find something hopefully useful Isaac leans his arms on the table.
"So what are you? Some kind of witch?" He asks Alan.
Y/n smirks at him. "That would be me." She flashes her eyes at him and he raises his brows a bit in surprise. "He's a veterinarian." She nods her head at Alan.
"Unfortunately, I don't see anything here that's going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin." Alan puts down a bottle.
"We're open to suggestions." Derek says.
"What about an effective offence?" Isaac offers.
"No, we already tried. I nearly took it's head off. And Argent emptied an entire clip into it. The thing just gets back up."
"Has it shown any weaknesses?" Alan asked.
"Well, one. It can't swim."
"Does that go for Jackson as well?"
"No. He's the captain of the swim team." Scott says.
"Essentially, you're trying to catch two people." He opens a drawer and grabs an item, closing the drawer and turning back to the group. "A puppet." He holds up a pendant depicting the horned god Cernunnos. "And a puppeteer." He puts the pendant on the table. "One killed the husband, but the other had to take care of the wife. Do we know why?"
"I don't think Jackson could do it. His mother died pregnant too, and she was maybe murdered. I think he couldn't let the same thing happen to someone else."
"How do you know it's not part of the rules? The kanima kills murderers. If Jackson kills the wife, then the baby dies too." Isaac theorises.
"Does that mean your father was a murderer?"
"Wouldn't surprise me if he was."
"Hold on. The book says they're bonded, right?" Alan asks Y/n and she nods. "What if the fear of water isn't coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him?"
Y/n let's out a small 'ah' as she catches on. "So what if something that affects the kanima also affects its master?" She grabs the bottle of mountain ash, dumping a bit in her hand, and pours it over the pendant making the ash form a perfect circle around it. Alan smiles at her.
"Meaning what?" Isaac asks.
"Meaning we can catch them." Scott answers. "Both of them."
...
Stiles pulls into the school parking lot and parks near where Matt is locking up his bike. "There's gotta be some other way to get a ticket, right?" Scott says as he, Stiles and Y/n climb out of the Jeep.
"It's a secret show. There's only one way, and it's a secret." Stiles says.
"Hey." Matt suddenly calls and the three turn to look at him. "Any of you know why no one's getting suspended after what happened the other day at school?"
"Just forget about it. Nobody got hurt."
"I- I had a concussion."
"Well, nobody got seriously hurt."
"I was in the ER for six hours."
"Hey, do you wanna know the truth, Matt? Your little bump on the head is about this high on our list of problems right now." Stiles bends down and holds his hand an inch above the ground.
"Okay, settle down, tiger." Y/n makes him stand up straight and holds his hand, the action seeming to calm him a bit.
"Are you okay?" Scott asks Matt.
"Yeah, I'm fine now. So you didn't get any tickets last night either."
"Are they still selling?"
"Uh, no, but I managed to find two online. You should keep trying. Sounds like everyone's going to be there." Matt walks away.
"I don't like him." Stiles says.
"Me either." Y/n makes a face towards Matt's direction.
"Hey, are you sure about this?" He asks Scott.
"Last time, whoever's controlling Jackson had to kill somebody because he didn't finish the job, so what do you think he's gonna do this time?"
"Be there to make sure it happens." The three walk into school.
...
"Katamine?" Scott questions. Alan holds a vial of the drug up for the teens to see.
"It's the same stuff we use on the dogs, just a higher dosage." He explains and sets the bottle and a large syringe on the table. "If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him down enough to buy you some time." He grabs the bottle of mountain ash. "This is some of what you'll use to create the barrier. This part is for you and Y/n, Stiles." He sets the bottle down. "Only you two."
"Uh, that sounds like a lot of pressure." Stiles picks up the bottle. "Can we maybe find a slightly less pressure-filled task for me?"
"You'll be fine, Stiles." Y/n assures and plucks the bottle from his fingers. "This is from the mountain ash tree."
"Which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural." Alan adds. "This office is lined with ashwood, making it difficult for someone like Scott to cause me any trouble."
"How come Y/n is able to use it then if she's also supernatural?" Stiles asks curiously.
"Witches are like the bridge between the natural and supernatural world." She explains. "We're supernatural enough to not be human, but human enough to not be affected by certain things."
"Okay, so then what? We just spread this around the whole building and then either Jackson or whoever's controlling him can't cross it?"
"They'll be trapped." Alan nods.
"Doesn't sound too hard." Scott tries to assure Stiles.
"Not all there is. Think of it like gunpowder. It's just a powder until a spark ignites it. You need to be that spark, Stiles."
"If you mean light myself on fire, I don't think I'm up for that. And why aren't you saying this to her?"
"Because I already know how to use it."
"Let me try a different analogy. I used to golf. I learned that the best golfers never swing before first imagining where they want the ball to go. They see it in their mind and their mind takes over. It can be pretty extraordinary what the force of your own will can accomplish."
"Force of will." Stiles nods, yet he still seems unsure.
"Here's another example." Y/n offers. "It's kinda like pixie dust, you need to believe it will work or else it won't."
"If-" Alan moves his head a bit to make sure Stiles is looking at him. "If this is going to work, Stiles, you have to believe it."
That night Stiles pulls up outside the secret party after picking up Scott and Y/n. They all go to the back and Stiles opens it up. "You okay?" Scott suddenly asks Stiles as he grabs a bag of mountain ash.
"Yeah, why?"
"You just didn't say anything the whole way here."
"No, I'm fine." Y/n could tell that was a lie. Something was bothering him, she could feel it. Something at home. She had been waiting for them to be alone to say anything about it. "Grab the other bag, please." Stiles asks her which she complies.
Scott suddenly takes a few steps away as he hears something. "Not here, not now." He says just before he rushes away.
"What- Scott?" Stiles called after him, it's to no avail.
"Let him go. We'll be fine." Y/n gives him a reasurring smile. He goes to start pouring the ash before she stops him. "Hey." He gave her a questioning look. "What happened earlier?"
"I don't know what-"
"Stiles." She sighed. "I know when you're lying. It's not just the upticks in your heart either, I just... I just know, okay? So, please, don't lie to me."
He sighed and looked away. He was so quiet she thought he wouldn't speak until he did. "My dad was fired." He finally said, although it was a near whisper. "And it's my fault."
She lightly shook her head and hugged him, he practically wrapped himself around her for comfort as the bags were left momentarily forgotten by their feet. "It wasn't your fault." She spoke just as quietly. She pulled away and made him look at her by putting a hand on his cheek. "It wasn't, okay?" At her insistence he nodded a bit. "It'll be okay. I promise." When he managed a small smile she gave him a soft kiss, nothing rushed or heated, but slow and promising she'll be there for him.
When they pulled away his smile was more genuine. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." She suddenly grinned as she stepped away from him. "Now, let's catch some baddies." She hauled up the bag of ash and took his hand. "Come on." He grabbed his own bag and she led them to the other side of the building. "I'll go this way, you go that way and we meet in the middle."
He nods with a deep breath. "Sounds like a plan." And then they start pouring the ash, going opposite ways to meet back around at the Jeep. It took a bit but not as long as it would have with just one of them pouring it. Y/n got back around before Stiles had. She figured he was going fast but slowish to make sure he poured it well enough. Y/n caught the last handful of ash in her hand and tossed it forward, finishing her last twenty feet of her half.
She was leaning against the Jeep, waiting for Stiles and keeping an eye out for whoever was creating that gunfire. She had a feeling it was Hunters, but the wolves seemed to be holding their own for now. She heard shuffling and turned to find Stiles as he caught his last handful of ash. "Oh, no." He whined. "What are we gonna do?" He immediatly started going into panic mode. "Y/n, I don't know what to do. There's like 50 feet of ash left and I'm hearing gunfire and werewolves-"
"Stiles, calm down. It's okay."
"How is this okay, Y/n? I've got a handful of magic fairy dust left and it's not enough. It's not enough."
"Stiles!" She snapped once she was in front of him. "It's enough. You have to believe." She spoke more softly. "Remember what Alan said? Just picture it. Believe and picture it working."
"I don't know-"
"Believe in me." She took his hands in hers, carefully curling her hand over the one holding the ash while intertwining the other. "If you can't fully believe in this, then believe in me. I know it will work. Trust me. Picture it." His eyes darted over her shoulder to a bumper sticker with a quote. Imagination is more important than knowledge - Einstein. He looked into her eyes, shining with determination and faith. He trusted her with anything and he believed in her unconditionally. If she believed that the ash was enough, then it was enough.
He took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay. Just- just imagine." She nodded and took a step back, taking more when he followed. He kept his focus on her eyes, not paying attention to the slow trickle of mountain ash slipping though their fingers until their hands were open and empty. He looked down, half expecting the line to still be incomplete. When he saw it was indeed intact he laughed in excitement. "Yes!" He threw his hands up while Y/n smiled at him. He suddenly jumped onto the back of a car only to hop right back off when the alarm started going off.
Y/n rolled her eyes with a head shake. Her eyes flashed and she snapped her fingers, the car stopped blaring and Stiles continued his happy dance. "Told you."
"You are amazing." He quickly kissed her, making her eyes widen in surpise while he cheered some more.
She shook her head fondly with a smile before grabbing his hand. "Okay, that's enough celebrating. We still have someone to deal with." They made their way to the small area where they agreed to take Jackson when they got him.
Erica and Isaac anxiously watched over Jackson when the door opened. Stiles immediatly putting his hands up when Erica almost lunged at him. "No, no, no! Just us, it's just us." Y/n closed the door behind her and then looked at Jackson. He was seemingly passed out, slumped in a fold out chair.
"Is he okay?" Y/n asked.
"Well..." Isaac went over to him. "Let's find out." He pulled out his claws and went to swipe at Jackson.
"Isaac, wait-" Y/n tried to warn, when suddenly his arm was caught. He grunted in pain and fell to his knee when Jackson's grip was too strong. He managed to pull his arm free and retreat back to the group.
"Okay, no one does anything like that again, okay?" Stiles ordered. Erica nodded while Isaac was still in pain.
"Give me your arm." Y/n held her hand out expectantly. Isaac looked up at her warily. When she gave him a look to urge him forward he hesitantly held his arm out for her. She gently held his hand and carefully held the other over where he was injured, her eyes glowing as she encouraged his healing and healed a bit of it herself so he was in less pain.
"Thanks." He said when she let him go.
"No problem."
"I thought the ketamine was supposed to put him out."
"Yeah, well, apparently this is all we're going to get." Stiles said. "So let's just hope that whoever's controling him decided to show up tonight."
Jackson's eyes opened. He didn't look at any of them, just stared into space. "I'm here." He spoke although it wasn't his voice. It was distorted and sounded like more than one person was speaking. "I'm right here with you."
Y/n took a step forward, but Stiles grabbed her wrist and gave her a worried look. She nodded in reasurance and he let her go. She crouched down in front of Jackson, keeping a safe distance. "Jackson, is that you?"
"Us. We're all here."
She quirked a brow, glancing at the three behind her. "Are you the one killing people?"
"We're the ones killing murderers."
"So all the people you've killed so far-"
"Deserved it."
"We got a little rule book that says you only go after murderers."
"Anything can break if enough pressure's applied."
"That can lead to unforseen consequences most often than not. Are all the people you're killing murderers then?"
"All. Each. Every one."
"Who did they murder?"
"Me."
"What?"
"They murdered me." Erica and Isaac got anxious as Jackson's eyes shifted to his kanima ones. "They murdered me."
"Y/n, get back here." Stiles asked when Jackson's claws came out. She stood and backed up to him. "Okay, all right. More ketamine. The man needs ketamine. Come on!"
"We don't have any more." Isaac held up the empty bottle.
"You used it all?" Y/n asked incredulously. Erica anxiously tapped Y/n's arm and they looked over to see Jackson standing up. Y/n would have tried compelling him back to sleep if someone else hadn't already had control of his mind right then. Jackson screeched at them, half shifted. "Okay, out, out! Everybody out!"
The four rushed out of the room and piled against the door to hold it closed. "Okay, find something to move in front of the door." Stiles instructed. Another screech rang out and a second later the fully shifted kanima broke through the wall and ran away.
"Well, shit."
Stiles and Y/n go back out to the Jeep in the flow of people leaving the party. They step over the line as Derek comes up to them. "Hey, um, so we kind of lost Jackson inside, but it's-" Stiles cuts himself off when Erica and Isaac come out, but they pause when they sense something. Isaac crouches down to look at the ash line, glancing up at Erica. The two look nervous and confused because they can't cross. They haven't experienced mountain ash before. "Oh, my God. It's working! Oh, this is- we did something." He brags to Derek.
Y/n's eyes widen when she and Derek hear Scott's sudden roar. "Scott." She takes off and Stiles looks after her confused.
"What? Where are you-"
"Break it." Derek orders quickly.
"What? No way."
"Scott's dying!"
"Okay, what? How do you know that? Is that why Y/n-"
"Yes! We just know! Break it!"
Stiles drops to his knees and waves his hands down, creating a rush of air that dispersed the ash and broke the line. Derek rushed after Y/n as soon as he could. He caught up to her just as she went into a room. She spotted Scott on the ground as soon as she went in and darted to his side, dropping to her knees beside him. Derek was on her tail but paused just behind her, the wolfsbane in the air having an effect on him. Victoria came from the shadows and stabbed Derek in the back. He groans in pain and turns around, catching her arm before she could stab him again.
Y/n looked up in fear and without thinking she threw her hand up, her eyes flashing as she forced the knife from the woman's hands. Victoria stumbled from the sudden action. She recovered as Derek went for her. They struggled and ended up by the doors where the strobing lights filtered in. Derek growled and bit her in defense before she managed to toss him aside. She ran before he got up. When he saw the Hunter was gone he quickly went to help Y/n carry Scott out of that room.
Scott was layed out on the metal table in the backroom of the clinic. Alan had just finished helping the werewolves with Y/n's assistance. Derek sat in a chair against the wall, watching them. Alan lightly petted Scott's head in reasurance. The teen would be fine. "Thank you." Derek said. Y/n looked up at him and smiled.
Alan walked out into the front of the clinic, turning at the sound of a familiar voice. "I can't decide if l admire your sentimentality or despise it." Ms. Marin Morell sat in one of the waiting chairs and looked at him.
"If I want your opinion, I'll make an appointment with the guidance office."
"From the state of things, I think you could use a little guidance. Are you really going to leave all of this up to a couple of kids?"
"They're more capable than you think."
She looked away in thought. "And are you going to tell them what's coming?"
He glanced towards the back room. "They've got enough to worry about."
Y/n sits against the wall of the clinic, resting a bit as she watches over Scott, Derek seemingly doing the same as he rests his head against the wall with his eyes closed. She closes her eyes and copies Derek's position, trying to get some type of rest. It doesn't seem like she'll get it, however. She knows he's there without even opening her eyes.
Peter sits against the wall next to her. "You know, you could do so much more. If you practiced a bit of blood magic you'd be so much more confident in your abilities. You'd be a force to be reckoned with."
"I'm not ready." She muttered.
"You keep saying that, but are you really not ready? Or are you just too scared to try?"
She snapped her head to the side, brows furrowing as she looked towards him, he was already gone. She couldn't help but think of what he said.
Was she scared to try?

Title: Two Cups of Coffee & a Tattered Book
Summary:
Both of them reached for the same book at the same time and got flustered.
"Sorry," Stiles said and held the book out. "You can have it."
Isaac shook his head. "No it's okay. You go ahead. I-I can wait."
"Are you sure?"
"Mhm."
Stiles tilted his head, glanced down at the book, glanced back at the other man and smiled. "What if we read it together? Over coffee perhaps?"

“Stiles? Honey, what are you doing up?”
Stiles glanced over at his foster mom, Meredith. “Just watching the stars,” he said quietly before looking out the window again, his fingers idly brushing back and forth across his forearm.
“I know you love the stars, sweetie. Five more minutes and then it’s time for bed.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he whispered. He heard her sigh and only felt slightly guilty for the reaction. He knew how much Meredith wished for him to call her mom, but Stiles just couldn’t. His mom died and there was no changing that. There was no replacing her and calling Meredith mom would be a dishonor to his own mother, at least that was how Stiles saw it. So, there was no way he'd ever call anyone else mom. The term, the meaning, the title, the importance of the word would never fit anyone else for him like it had his mama.
Stiles heard Meredith’s footsteps retreat as she headed back to her bedroom and shut the door. He was able to hear her settle in her bed for the night and heard his foster dad, Damien’s voice. They weren’t bad people. In fact, they were the best foster parents, foster family he’d ever had but they weren’t Claudia and Noah Stilinski.
Amber eyes burned with unshed tears as Stiles hugged his knees to his chest. He remained sitting on the window seat and traced his thumb absentmindedly over the ink black paw prints that paced up and down his forearm. His eyes remained fixed on the night sky, as he stared out the window, admiring the twinkling stars. He was almost eighteen and he was ready to get out on his own. If only the stupid age thing didn’t matter, he would have gone off on his own years ago.
At first, at the age of ten, he’d been okay, even though losing his dad was extremely painful. He at least still had his mom but then when Stiles was twelve, he lost his mom to cancer. It nearly tore him apart. He didn’t really remember much after that. It was like he blinked and found himself being introduced to the first of many foster homes.
Now at his fifth foster home he was even more lonely, despite Meredith and Damien doing everything in their power to show him how much they cared. He logically knew they loved him but knowing it in his head was one thing. Believing it in his heart was another thing entirely. He only knew of one love that would never change and his soul mark, each little paw print, was that much more precious because of that.

Isaac Lahey was the middle child with an older brother named Jordan and two younger siblings named Erica and Heather. Jordan was formidable and fierce while the twins were rambunctious and adorable. You always knew when any one of the three of them was nearby. They were an intense trio of people.
Isaac, however? Isaac was quiet but very observant. It was one of the reasons he immediately noticed the moment his mark showed up—that and because he had been eagerly awaiting its arrival—when he was sixteen. It was the most precious thing he possessed. It was something that belonged to him and to him alone. Now, at twenty-one years old, the turquoise sparks that danced up and down his forearm were the only connection he had to his soulmate. His soulmate was someone that he desperately wanted to meet.
He didn’t go out of his way to find his soulmate though. He was firm in the belief that it would happen when it was meant to. So he continued his studies at Amethyst Amherst Academy, majoring in English Literature with a minor in Creative Writing. Jordan teased him about it, but it was all in good fun and Isaac loved what he was studying which was what mattered most. He hated being so far from home, but it was worth it in the long run. He just wasn’t sure why yet.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
The day Stiles got out of the foster home, he felt like he could finally breathe. He had graduated high school two years early and had taken a couple online courses at a local community college. He had only been waiting to be of age so he could attend his college of choice in person. He had been offered scholarships to several universities but as he was looking through them, he felt a tug towards one called Amethyst Amherst Academy. It was made even better by the fact that AAA was his mother’s alma mater. So, with the tug on top of that he knew where he was going to attend.
Now, Stiles didn’t know if he believed in the whole fate thing, but this pull that he felt was something he didn’t think he could ignore. More importantly, he didn’t want to ignore it. So, he packed up what little he had and moved across the country.
Because of the life insurance money, and an inheritance from both of his parents, he was able to get an off campus apartment, tune up his jeep and pay for school. Amethyst Amherst Academy was amazing, and they worked with him to make sure they could transfer all his credits which put him in the first semester of his junior year of college. He had chosen to double major in Creative Writing and Music with emphasis in Composition and Production.
When he settled into his apartment, which had a window seat, he couldn’t help but notice the way his soul mark seemed warmer, and it made him smile. For the first time since his mom died, he felt free, and everything felt almost perfect.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Stiles found that he spent a lot of time in the campus library despite having his own place. He just had a feeling that he needed to be there and just like the pull he felt to come to the university, he didn’t ignore the need to be at the library.
He didn’t know what he expected to happen, but nothing wasn’t it. He shrugged it off for the first couple of weeks but three months in, despite the pull never waning, he found himself doubting. It wasn’t a fun feeling to have.
Halfway through the semester, Stiles had once again showed up at the library, just like he had every other day and once again the tug was still ambiguous in its origin. So, with a soft sigh, Stiles grabbed his usual table on the second floor in the back corner, put his headphones in and got to work on his essay.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Isaac was thriving at Amethyst Amherst Academy, and it was such an amazing feeling. He was making a name for himself with his professors who were impressed with not only his work ethic but his grasp on the subjects he was learning.
Today Isaac found himself in the campus library. He had felt a pull to come to the library for a while now, but it hadn’t seemed important. Today however, three months after that first pull, he felt an insistent tug that said he had to go today. So here he was wondering what reason he was brought here for.
He looked around the first floor and winced. For a library it was way too loud. So, he escaped to the second floor and instantly felt calmer. There must have been some kind of magic keeping the noise contained, only audible on the first floor. Thus, magic was preventing disruptions to the upper floors. Then again, he shouldn’t have been surprised considering the librarian was a witch. At least she was the good kind of witch. He shuddered, remembering the witch his brother Jordan had dated for a time that was not a good witch. It had been pretty satisfying to see their mother deal with her though.
Isaac snorted at that and sighed as he glanced around the second floor. He loved the quiet and maybe he could get some work done here. He started looking for the perfect table to settle at for a night of serene studying.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Stiles was finding it harder and harder to concentrate. His mark was getting hotter, but it didn't hurt; it was just annoying. So, he rubbed at it subconsciously as he moved onto his next assignment. He adjusted his glasses and huffed distractedly when the mark grew even hotter. Suddenly, his arm jerked to the left and he winced as his elbow smacked the table. “Shit,” he cursed under his breath.
He rolled his eyes and tried to go back to his homework, but the tug refused to let him. He threw up his hands in defeat and finally followed the direction of the tug with his eyes. He came face to face with the section of books on soulmates and soul marks. Huh. He hadn't noticed that section before. The only logical thing to do was get up and look at them. So, that was what he did.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Isaac finally found a table that seemed perfect. The only downside was that it’s already partially occupied by someone. He walked closer and carefully set his things down. Hopefully the other person wouldn’t mind. Speaking of—He turned and saw only one other person nearby. That probably meant that this was his stuff. So naturally, Isaac went over to ask if the other guy minded company. As he was about to speak up, he noticed a book that he had heard of but had never gotten to read. He reached for it.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Both of them reached for the same book at the same time and got flustered.
“Sorry,” Stiles said and held the book out. “You can have it.”
Isaac shook his head. “No, it’s okay. You go ahead. I-I can wait.”
“Are you sure?”
“Mhm.”
Stiles tilted his head, glanced down at the book, glanced back at the other man and smiled. “What if we read it together? Over coffee perhaps?”
Isaac gaped for a moment. He studied the other guy’s face, from the chestnut brown hair to the golden honey eyes, to the pink cupid’s bow lips, to the Orion constellation across his face and agreed wholeheartedly. “Yeah. Yes. That’s uh–Sure.”
“I’m Stiles,” Stiles said, offering his hand to shake, nearly dropping the book in the process.
Isaac caught the book and chuckled as he shook Stiles’s hand. “I’m Isaac.”
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
The first time they had coffee, they both felt like there was something there, knew down to their souls that they were soulmates. So, one coffee became two which became three.
“Hey Isaac?”
Isaac looked over at Stiles who was standing next to him in line. “Hm?”
Stiles kept his gaze fixed ahead, chewing his lip as he surveyed the menu even though Isaac knew he always got the same thing. “Are we dating?”
“Uh—I mean I kinda thought so. Is that okay?”
Stiles turned and kissed his cheek. “It’s perfect.”
They grew closer through coffee dates and shared books. They spent time at Stiles’s apartment studying, watching movies, playing video games, cooking and of course reading. Their relationship foundation was settling nicely. Isaac was the first to place a major piece.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Stiles was the first person Isaac that told about his full shift.
“I already knew you were a wolf but Izzy this is…” he trailed off, sucking in a deep breath. “I mean you’re just…” He smiled. “You’re beautiful and breathtaking.”
At Stiles’s words, Isaac woofed and jumped on the couch. The end result was a happy Stiles cuddling with a huge dark brown wolf.

When the second piece of their relationship foundation was placed, it wasn't intentional but instinctual. Stiles threw himself in front of Isaac as a dragon—because those totally exist apparently—breathed fire at them. Isaac was the first person to see Stiles’s spark in action.
There was a burst of white light and then ash floated down to the ground. “Man am I glad we weren’t like on campus for this. I’d rather not out myself to the world.” Stiles flicked his hand and the ash dissipated as if it was never there to begin with along with the smell. “Now what to do about these scorch marks. Damn dragon got my t-shirt. It was my favorite t-shirt too!” he said with an annoyed huff and looked at Isaac.
Isaac was struck silent in awe of the turquoise eyes that matched the color of the sparks on his arm, the very same sparks dancing along Stiles’s fingertips. “That was badass. You’re a wonder, Stiles Stilinski,” he whispered in awe before stalking forward and pulling his boyfriend close, bringing them chest to chest. “And you’re all mine.”
Stiles grinned, his cheeks twinging pink and leaned forward. It was the first time they kissed. Literal fireworks burst above their heads thanks to Stiles’s spark. Isaac would never get enough of those turquoise eyes. He loved trailing his fingers up Stiles’s arms and watching as the sparks followed his ministrations. Their marks matched up perfectly: bright turquoise sparks and charcoal paw prints.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Of course, they could never get a moment of peace now it seemed. A rogue alpha decided to attack them while they were on a picnic date at the lake near campus. Luckily, it wasn’t too close to campus, or they would have ended up on the national news.
Stiles cried out and threw his hand up, but the alpha caught them by surprise. “Isaac!”
Isaac turned and lunged while the alpha had its eyes set on Stiles. Faster than Stiles could blink, the alpha’s throat had been ripped out and his boyfriend was doubled over as the alpha spark consumed him. Stiles ignored the pain in his arm and hurried over. “Izzy?” he whispered.
Isaac let out a whine and Stiles looked at the other alpha’s body. How dare that alpha hurt his Izzy. How dare that fucking alpha hurt Stiles’s mate. Stiles felt his spark burning white hot inside him in righteous indignation and fury. He placed his hand on the scratch marks and pushed that power into Isaac to help heal him. Isaac never expected to become an alpha and Stiles knew it would be hard, but he was there, and he wasn’t going anywhere. They would face this new reality together.
That confrontation resulted in an alpha that could fully shift and was bonded to a spark whose power was like a raging inferno. No one really knew just how powerful he was. Not to mention how powerful his mate was. Together, they were unstoppable.
Hopefully, they could finally have some peace and quiet to finish out their junior year and not have any issues their senior year.

One Year & Two Months Later:
Stiles grinned as he hung the final certificate on the wall. He stepped back into waiting arms that wrapped around him and smiled. “It’s perfect,” he said.
“Just like you,” Isaac said, placing a soft kiss on his mate’s neck.
Stiles hummed at the feeling, baring his neck to let Isaac have free reign. The alpha rumbled happily as he nipped the pale column. “Oh, you sappy wolf,” Stiles teased, laughing at the playful growl he got. “Mieczyslaw Genim Stilinski-Hale. Bachelor of Music and Bachelors of Creative Writing.” He beamed and looked up at his now fiancé. “Isaac Spencer Stilinski-Hale. Bachelor of English Literature with a minor in Creative Writing.”
Isaac pecked his fiancé’s lips and smiled. “Look at us. Brains and brawn.”
Stiles snorted. “Yeah right. You’re brains and brawn. I’m just brains.”
“Lies. You’re just as powerful as I am and even more courageous.”
“Oh, stop being so sappy. We’ve got a meeting to get to.”
Isaac quirked a brow. “We do? I don’t think it starts until two and it’s a little before noon right now.”
Stiles gently tweaked a frame to make sure that it was perfectly straight, only half paying attention. “Uh huh. So, we gotta—” He let out a squeak as Isaac yanked him closer. Stiles was pulled tightly back into his mate’s embrace and held firmly.
Isaac lowered his voice and breathed against the shell of his mate’s ear. “But I have such great plans for you. We have time for me to take you apart and put you back together again. I’ll even do that one thing that you’ve been asking for, for a while now. You know the—” He got cut off when he was pushed onto the bed. “What did we say about teleporting?” Isaac teased as he ended up with a lapful of spark.
“That we would only do it in extreme circumstances and this totally qualifies because I want that, and you’ve been saying you wouldn’t do it and now you will. So, get your pants off, get mine off and let’s do this. Please?”
“All right. All right, little sparkling,” Isaac cooed as he stripped. He was still too slow it seemed because the sight that greeted him when he was finally naked made him groan. Yeah, they would probably be late for the meeting.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
“You’re late,” Allison said with a judgmental but teasing brow raised.
Stiles turned red and coughed. “Yeah. Well, it’s all Isaac’s fault. He’s all ‘I’m the alpha’ but then he wanted to do a thing and I said that we’d be late, but I can’t defy my alpha.”
Isaac rolled his eyes and swatted Stiles’s ass. “Like it was such a great hardship, and you defy me all the time.”
“I love you too, Boo,” Stiles said with pouty lips only smiling when he got a kiss. He turned towards the table. “All righty then. Who are we looking at?”
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
The Alpha and The Spark had taken up the mantles that were their birthrights. Stiles had become not just a Spark but an Emissary and an Alpha Mate. After they both graduated, they began to form a pack. The first to join them was a surprise as they might not have even considered her otherwise, but Allison Argent had approached them after graduation and even requested a formal meeting.
So, she made three and then came Liam who Stiles called pup because he was just so adorable. Liam said he didn’t like it, but he totally did. Liam made four, which then became five when Liam’s mate Hayden joined them after they were assigned a class project together. Five became six when a beta wolf named Brett joined them after he and Allison took down a pair of rogue omegas together.
Slowly but surely, they built up a strong pack. They bought land in the Mohonk Preserve in New York and built a pack house with room for everyone. So far, it had been amazing. Liam and Hayden were soulmates and Brett and Allison were soulmates. Stiles couldn’t help but coo over his betas and their adorableness. It made Isaac fondly roll his eyes even as he rumbled in his chest, pleased with his pack and his mate.
🐾 ✦ ☕︎ 📗 ☕︎ ✦ 🐾
Three Years Post Graduation:
Stiles had now written and produced two albums and was working on his third album. He and Isaac wrote a book together called “The Alpha and The Spark” about their pasts, their present and their future. They might make it into a series because of how much love it’s gotten from readers all over the world. Isaac had started writing children’s books and Stiles helped with the art for them. They could often be found in their study with Stiles’s music playing in the background as they each typed away on their laptops.
They now had a pack twenty strong and it was still growing.
Stiles leaned back into the v of Isaac’s legs, smiling at the arms that wrapped around him and the lips that kissed his neck. “Are you happy, My Spark?” his husband asked in a whisper.
“Beyond happy, My Wolf,” Stiles replied. “Are you happy?”
Isaac peppered soft kisses on his husband’s neck as he spoke. “I am completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.”
They both let out sighs of contentment as they watched their pack. Surrounded by the people they loved and had sworn to protect, there wasn’t a care in the world. It was something they both knew was out there for them and that one day they’d have it, but they would never quite get over just how much they loved each other. It was quite infinite and immeasurable.
And to think, it all started with a tattered book and two cups of coffee.

Beware the Spirits of the Vengeful ~ pt 3
____________________
3rd Person pov
Cheers filled the bleachers as the lacrosse players ran in between the goals, each trying to score as many points as possible. (y/n) was stood amidst the crowd, cheering for her school team and for player fourteen, Isaac Lahey. The (h/c) haired girl looked around the field, casually sniffing the air every now and then for the scent of the Alpha. She had hoped he would show up but thus far, he hadn’t made an appearance.
(y/n) jumped when a large hand settled on her shoulder, the girl turned quickly to see a burly man with dark hair and green eyes. ‘Why are all the guys I meet here gorgeous?!’ She thought to herself. “Come with me.” He said sternly, his scent washing over her. Derek Hale.
(y/n) stood up and followed the man to a glade of trees, far from the bleachers. ‘Yeah (y/n), follow a strange yet very attractive man into the woods, this is probably not my best idea.’ She thought. They stopped behind a large oak tree and he turned to face her, his intense gaze burning into her eyes. “What are you and what are you doing here?” He asked angrily.
(y/n) sighed and looked at the grass, stuttering for an answer. The Alpha wolf lightly gripped the girl’s chin and lifted her head, “No, don’t look at the ground, look at me.” He continued, once again staring into the girl’s eyes, a dangerous glint in them. The girl once again sighed and looked at him.
“My name is (y/n), I refuse to tell you what I am, just know that I am more powerful than you are and I am here on personal business.” She told him defiantly, pulling away from his hand that was still gripping her chin. Derek huffed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Let me start over, its clear that you are here for a reason and as long as it isn’t to harm me or my pack I don’t care. Let me introduce myself,” He muttered, still angrily clenching his hand into a fist. “My name is-”
“Derek Hale,” (y/n) continued for him, “Son to Talia Hale, deceased, brother to Laura Hale, deceased and Cora Hale, missing. You are also the nephew of the previous Alpha, Peter Hale, deceased and the informal carer of Isaac Lahey now that his father is dead.” She finished with a straight face. The Alpha stood staring at the girl in shock, stuttering over his words and losing the sullen look on his face.
“H-how do you know that?!” He asked, once again returning to an angry presence, charging toward (y/n), grabbing her by the throat and pushing her against the trunk of a tree. The girl in his grasp merely smirked and closed her eyes, disappearing from the strong hand around her throat and the tree, returning to the bleachers and continuing to cheer, only to realise that Number Fourteen had also disappeared.
Time Skip~
(y/n) ran to the parking lot at the end of the day after overhearing that Isaac had been taken into custody by the police. It might have been her first day but Isaac was the sweetest boy she had ever met and she wouldn’t have him going through the full moon on his own. Shoving the doors open only to realise that she was too late, the Sheriff’s car was already leaving the parking lot.
(y/n) looked to her side to see Scott McCall. Of course she remembered Scott, they were good friends growing up, but thanks to her glamour, the boy could hardly remember her. Any attempt to remember her had left him with a crippling headache. “What happened to Isaac?” She asked terrified. She already knew, but talking about it seemed natural.
Scott took the question, “His father was found dead and he is the number one suspect.” (y/n) looked shocked, even though she knew perfectly well what had happened. A black Camaro skidded to a halt in front of the two teens, Derek at the wheel, “Get in.” He ordered quickly, looking at the (h/c) girl specifically, nodding his head to the passenger seat.
(y/n) huffed, mumbling to herself as she walked around the car to climb into the passenger seat, the boys watching in confusion. “W-what is going on?” Scott muttered. Scott was watching the girl in confusion as she leaned against her hand.
“Are you serious? You did that, that’s your fault,” Scott told Derek angrily, still mad that Derek had turned Isaac.
Derek sighed and said, “I know. Now get in and help me.” (y/n) was still sat in the car, bored out of her mind at the conflict between the two werewolves. ‘My kind would have gotten this over and done with by now.’ The girl thought to herself.
“Whatever Jackson said to the cops?” Derek continued sullenly, “What’s in the house is worse, a lot worse.” ‘That was ominous,’ (y/n) thought, looking in curiosity at the older wolf. Derek returned the girl’s gaze and seemed almost bashful under it.
Scott piled into the Camaro and they sped off towards the Lahey house.
Time Skip~
Derek pushed open a door that led down to the Lahey’s basement, “What’s down there?” Scott asked, hesitant to go down there, as was (y/n).
“Motive,” Derek responded.
The two teens walked down the stairs slowly, Derek following behind them. “What am I looking for?” Scott asked, almost forgetting that (y/n) was there, if it wasn’t for her intoxicating scent.
“You’ll find it, follow your senses.” Derek told him, watching (y/n) walk around the basement with no fear, running her hand along objects with her eyes closed. He was fascinated by the girl, he had never met any of her kind, that he was sure of.
She was undoubtedly beautiful, he had to remind himself that he was in fact a few years older than her. Even in the dark room she seemed to give off a slight glow, her (h/c) hair shifting fluidly as she moved. Her (e/c) eyes glinted under the shallow lights of the room, making her look ethereal. The older wolf shook himself out of his stupor as Scott asked a question.
“What happened down here?” The boy asked in a whisper. The girl gasped all of a sudden, startling the two wolves. (y/n) could feel exactly what took place here, swiftly shouldering past the tall Alpha and running back upstairs with a hand covering her mouth, trying to silence her sobs.
“Seems that (y/n) has figured it out.” Derek told him, “Can you feel it?” He asked, to which Scott nodded. He was slightly confused that he couldn’t figure out something that a human could without his enhanced senses. “Think about how the sound of screaming can leave a tiny impression in the wood. Sweat left from fear. Saline from tears. In the walls, the floor,” Derek told the teen.
(y/n) pov
Tears slid down my cheeks for the first time in years, poor, poor Isaac. The cheerful boy I had come to be very fond of in the last twenty-four hours, had been treated terribly by his own father. Who knew we would have so much in common?
I crouched down against the wall, next to Scott’s and my bags, clutching my arms around myself. I breathed slow, deep breaths to try and calm myself down. I was startled by Scott’s phone ringing, realising that he wasn’t coming to answer it I took it upon myself.
“Hello,” I answered.
“Hey,” It was Stiles, “Who’s this?” He asked.
“Oh, it’s (y/n),” I replied.
“(y/n)? What are you doing answering Scott’s phone?” He asked, clearly confused.
“Scott and Derek are a bit busy right now, so I thought I would answer it because the call could have been important.” I told him, explaining my actions the best I could. I already knew that Stiles was aware his best friend was Lycan.
“Derek!? You’ve met Derek!?” He yelled shocked, causing me to pull the phone from my ear to avoid hearing damage.
“Yes, I’ve met Derek, now what did you want Stiles?” I asked, my face still wet from tears.
“Right, uh, I have reason to believe that Isaac is in trouble at the station.” He said.
“What?” I asked shocked, “Okay, I’ll tell Scott and he’ll get back to you.” I told him, not waiting on a response before hanging up the call.
I ran to the basement, “Derek, Scott, Stiles just called and said he thinks that Isaac is in trouble at the police station,” I told them, worried. I tossed Scott his phone and was told to stay put for now by Derek.
“We need to make sure Scott is safe during the full moon,” He told me quietly, “Wait until someone comes here, either Stiles or his girlfriend. Be wary of her, she’s an Argent.” He spat the name with disgust as he prepared to leave, ordering Scott to also stay put.
“An Argent!? What’s he doing dating an Argent?” I whisper-shouted. I knew all about the Argents, they were renowned Hunters, most of them followed specific codes, but there were a few that went rogue.
“Don’t get me started,” He told me, running up the stairs faster than my human eyes could follow.
Time Skip~
3rd Person  pov
Scott and (y/n) sat in the basement, so close that their knees were touching. Scott looked over at the girl next to him, her eyes were closed as she tried to avoid worrying about Isaac and Derek, her face had tear streaks across the cheeks and Scott resisted the urge to tuck a lock of her hair behind her ear.
The front door suddenly opened, startling the blushing boy to his feet and the girl opened her eyes once more. “Scott?” Allison called from upstairs, the (h/c) girl shot to her feet, excited to go and see Isaac.
“Bye Scott,” (y/n) muttered, giving him a quick hug out of childhood habits before sprinting up the stairs, past Allison and out of the front door. Scott was glued to the spot, the scent of the girl lingering on his clothes. At least Allison wouldn’t realise.
Police Station~
(y/n) ran through the station, past the reception and to the holding cells, following the werewolf scent of Isaac. She ran in to see Isaac confused and afraid in the corner of the room, Derek was getting ready to leave and Stiles was stood behind her gawking.
“Stiles, could you give us a minute,” (y/n) asked, once again not waiting for a response from the dazed boy, shutting the door and walking over to sit with Isaac.
“Isaac,” She spoke in a quiet, calming voice, trying her hardest to make him feel better. Her first full moon was difficult as well. The terrified werewolf looked at the girl he had come to know as his friend and shuffled closer to her.
(y/n) wrapped an arm around the boy’s shoulders, his head laying in the crook of her neck, “I remember how difficult my first full moon was,” She whispered, watching in silence for the boy to catch on to her secret.
“You’re a werewolf?” He asked, innocently looking into her eyes. The (h/c) girl laughed and shook her head.
“Not quite, but I am supernatural, I can’t tell you what I am, but the moon does affect me.” She told him, opening the palm of her hand and revealing a dark flame.
The boy looked at her hand in awe.
The two teens remained snuggled together until Isaac returned to Derek under (y/n)’s watchful eye. Looking up at the full moon, (y/n) saw the night was nearly over and made her way to a place she wished she never had to go back to.
The cemetery was cold and dark as the teen walked through the headstones, walking with purpose to her family mausoleum, the place she herself had perished. A sigh left the girl’s tired body before she ducked under the yellow police tape and entered the rubble.
(y/n) looked down with a stoic face, knowing that in the rubble is the body of her younger self, a dark thing to think about but a thought nonetheless. The girl breathed deeply, closing her eyes and channelled the energy that had been consuming her body since the moon rose. When her eyes once again opened, they were a stunning cerulean.
Lifting her hands toward the sky and keeping her open eyes on the rubble, the destroyed mausoleum seemed to be reversing. Each piece and shard of the building rose into the air and slotted into its correct place, until the building was good as new.
“Phase one, complete.” (y/n) muttered.

Need to hear about both jairix and Gemma so a lot of questions for the dnd ask:
Jairix: 2, 22, 42, 62
Gemma: 8, 16, 43
ohohoh I'm not complaining
Jairix:
2. Before they met their party, what was their main goal?
Before working for Skyship Guild as an adventurer, Jairix was studying airship engineering under Professor Volni Eo, one of the most respected airship engineers in the world. Halfway into her time in Eo's workshop, her best friend left for a mysterious internship without saying goodbye and never returned. Jairix spent the few years between Mina's disappearance and meeting her party trying unsuccessfully to find out whether she was just overreacting to a friend not wanting to talk to her anymore, letting her anxiety and her imagination get away from her, or if there was really something nefarious going on (spoiler alert: there was).
22. what is a promise they’ve broken?
oh ok I see how it is
I'm certain she once promised Violet that she'd protect her, or at least that she'd try. That she wouldn't leave her behind.
She also promised Krurr'ash that she'd get some sleep, but at least that one she technically kept.
42. what are three words they would use to describe themself?
at the beginning of the campaign: curious, stressed, confused
at the end: capable, focused, logical (she's still stressed and confused but she'll never admit it out loud)
62. outside of otherworldly forces, what do they believe in?
not a whole lot. they believe that the consequences of your inaction are just as much your responsibility as the consequences of your action, and often turn out worse. she believes that the stars are bright and beautiful and feel like home, but no matter how much she wishes, there's no one out there looking back. she believes, a bit ruefully, that divination's not particularly useful when all your worst case scenarios seem to keep coming true.
Gemma:
8. what are three songs that suit them?
you KNOW I have like 3 Gemma playlists how can I choose
ok let's go with Mama by MCR, Bad Prescription by Hospital Bracelet, and just for you, I Love You Like A Brother by Alex Lahey. she may not see Griffin a lot but everything she does is at least a little bit about being a big sister.
16. what are their feelings on the people who raised them?
complicated, to say the least. Gemma loves her mom so so much, and she hates her mom nearly as much, and she'll cry every time she lets her down. They've always wanted to be just like her. The two of them can't spend an hour together without getting into an argument. Every time her mother leaves, she breaks Gemma's heart, and she misses her the whole time she's gone, and can't stand her as soon as she returns. Not to mention the adult adventurers (which includes Gemma's mom) have let the apprentices down a thousand times. I think every month that the adventurers failed to save Prinz or to find Ozrai eroded some of Gemma's trust in her mom.
She loves her dad with all her heart too. Gemma's like that, when she loves someone it's completely and fiercely and doesn't get diminished by hate or anger or betrayal, only complicated. I think their dad is kind, and doing his best, and I think half of Gemma wishes they could just curl up in his arms again and be safe forever, and half of them sees him as one more person to protect.
43. why do they fight?
because there's so much to fight for and who else is gonna do it. because that little kid who got kidnapped, or sacrificed, or poisoned by tree monsters could be Griffin (or Thorn, or Walter, says the ghost in her head). because Gemma was always gonna be a hero, even when she was just a little nuisance stealing cookies from the castle kitchens, she's always cared so much and always half believed she was invincible, and maybe she's not wrong, that would explain why she's always fine while everyone around her gets hurt. because they can, that's why, and because then it follows that they have to.

______________________________________
"Oh, what the hell is this?"
You and Stiles were sitting at the station with food for Sheriff, who was very unhappy with what he had been given. "Veggie burger," sang Stiles as he rearranged the contents around the table. He handed you yours before setting his salad in front of him.
"Stiles, I asked for a hamburger," complained Sheriff his mouth still full.
"Well, veggie is healthier. We're being healthy," Stiles argued. You nodded along as you rustled your fork through your own salad to mix the contents around equally. Sheriff sighed but went back to unpacking his food, when he uncovered the basket of carrots and celery his face took on the look of disappointment once more, "Oh, hell, why are you trying to ruin my life?"
You gave the older man a pointed look, "That's very dramatic, don't you think? We just do this because we care." You weren't lying, Melissa may have been the one that took you in permanently but the Sheriff had always been like a father to you just as Melissa had been like a mother.
"I'm trying to extend your life, okay? Could you just eat it, please? And tell us what you found."
Sheriff disagreed, "No! I'm not sharing confidential police work with teenagers." That didn't stop you two from looking behind the man and at the wall. You pointed to it as Stiles called attention to the board, "Is that it on the board behind you?" He turned to look at it, "Don't look at that." Stiles continued to not listen, his eyes glued onto the wall.
"Avert your eyes. Hey!"
"I see arrows pointing at pictures," Stiles said move about in his chair.
He finally gave up when he realized that you two were not going to listen. "Okay, okay, stop! Fine. I found something." Both you and Stiles brought your attentions to him, instantly satisfied with his words.
"Mechanic and the couple who were murdered. They all had something in common."
"All three," you and Stiles asked.
"Yeah. You know what I always say. One's an incident. Two's coincidence-."
"Three's a pattern," Stiles finished for his father.
"The mechanic, the husband, and the wife- all the same age. All twenty-four."
Your eyebrows scrunched together, "Then what about Mr. Lahey?" Stiles looked over at you and agreed, "Isaac's dad isn't anywhere near twenty-four."
Sheriff had stuck his finger out, stopping your questions, "Which made me think either 'A,' Lahey's murder wasn't connected or 'B,' the ages were a coincidence, until I found this," he rolled his chair backwards a little and turned. Grabbing the file and handing it you, you opened it so both of you could expect the contents.
"Which would be 'C.' Did you know that Isaac Lahey has an older brother named Camden?" Even though the question was in general, meant for both of you, Sheriff did make the most eye contact with you. You shook your head, going back to reading the words.
"'Died in combat,'" whispered Stiles.
"But if he were alive today, take one guess as to how old he'd be."
"Twenty-four," you said.
Eating was apparently going to have to wait, since both men stood up and began to go over the board. "Man, I really just wanted to eat," you whined begrudgingly getting out of your chair. Your complainants were completely ignored as they started to plot.
"Now what if same age means same class- I mean did you think of that?" Sheriff brushed off his son's question with a slight wave, "Yeah, yeah." There was a brief moment of dead air until Sheriff confessed he hadn't thought of it.
"Well I would've. I mean- look I just got Lahey's file two hours ago." Even though the statement made sense to you, Stiles didn't accept that.
"TWO HOURS? Dad, people could be dying!"
"Yeah, I'm aware of that, thank you."
You placed a hand on Stiles' shoulders to make your presence known, "He can only keep looking at this stuff for so long, Stiles. Sometimes you need to step back to refresh your eyes."
Both guys settled down at your words, before turning towards the photos, "Same class," murmured Stiles. You all shared a look, "Do you have any old yearbooks, Sheriff," you asked.
Like on cue, they scrambled to get any old yearbooks and school files they could get their hands on. To be honest, your glad they didn't need your help on that because truth be told, you really were hungry. You only got a moment to stuff your face with food because they came rushing back soon after slamming all contents on the desk.
Stiles had found the file he was looking for, "Okay this is it, class of 2006. They all went to Beacon Hills."
"Including, Isaac's brother," stated Sheriff.
"Meaning they could've, theoretically, known each other," you said finishing your carrot before standing up once more.
"Two of them were married- so maybe they all just hung out."
Sheriff shook his head lightly, "Well, they could have had the same classes together. They could've-." You saw the man's face fall into a look of recognition. Stiles had caught it too, "What?"
"Same teacher." Mr. Harris' picture was on the page, clear as day.
"All four. Now I don't know how Mr. Lahey fits in, but this- kids, this is definitely a pattern. Alright, get me the 2006 yearbook. These names, we need faces."
"Which ones," you asked as Sheriff went to make a phone call. "Everyone in that chemistry class," he answered, "If the killer's not done killing..."
"One of them is next," Stiles said.
"Yeah."
~
Later that night, you had promised to meet Scott at the clinic to relay everything you just found out. He wanted you there though because Derek was planning to show up and he figured a three versus one when it came to opinions would work better in his favor.
"So, you weren't able to get tickets," you asked currently perched on the half wall in the lobby. The boy confirmed your question, "Nope, but we need to find some because Jackson seemed very hell bent on getting them."
You nodded slowly, "Meaning whoever is controlling him, desperately wants to be there." Scott agreed and then his head perked up, looking at the clinic door. You figured it was because he heard Derek so you felt no need to stand up from your position.
Scott walked over, unlocking the door letting Derek in, "What's he doing here," you heard him asked.
You looked up and felt your breath get caught in your throat, you weren't expecting Isaac to come. Guess it was only fair since Derek wasn't informed of your presence either. "I need him," the Alpha said bluntly.
"I don't trust him," Scott shot back. Mean while all you could do was stare and the Beta made eye contact with you for just a second.
"Yeah, well, he doesn't trust you either," you would be lying if you were to say that his voice didn't make your heart flutter. Once he finished his sentence he walked passed both the other werewolves standing close to where you were sitting on the wall.
"You know what and Derek really doesn't care."
You raised your hands as you blurted out, "Oh my god, one more person talks in third person and (Y/N) might just punch you all in your throats." You heard Isaac snort out a quiet laugh as he turned his head to look at you. His eyes gleamed like stars when they met yours.
Derek had interrupted your little moment, "Now where's the vet? Is he gonna help us or not?" You scoffed at the Alpha, "What great patience you have there, grumpy." You hopped off the wall and crossed the little group to stand next to Scott, just in time for Deaton to come out of the back room.
"That depends, your friend Jackson. Are we planning to kill him or save him?"
"Save him," you and Scott synced.
"Kill him," Derek had said at the same time.
You and Scott both whipped around looking at the dark haired werewolf in disbelief, "Save him," Scott argued once more before looking at you. Your eyes both met and stared at each other for a moment, like a form of silent communication. You nodded at him once more before both of you turned back to Deaton and synced again, "Save him."
Deaton had a small smile on his face and nodded, gesturing for you all to follow him. Derek had silently walked passed definitely grumpy of being out numbered. Scott followed a second later, leaving you and Isaac alone for just a moment.
You turned to him quickly whispering, "Derek made you come?" He nodded in response, "And now I'm glad he did because I get to see my favorite girl." He stood next to you, throwing his arm around your shoulder, keeping you from walking towards the back room door. You chuckled lightly, rolling your eyes, "You're never gonna stop with the nicknames, are you?"
You moved passed him, his arm falling back to his side and you spoke once more, your voice still lowered, "Fine but we still need to talk everything through. After this is all over." He nodded with a smile on his face following behind you and into the room with the others. He took his place in between the other two werewolves and you stood next to Deaton and helped him lay everything out. The sound of Derek's voice made you look up.
"Watch what you touch," he said with Isaac's arm in his hand. Deaton had picked up a jar reading it then showing you the label and pointing to the ingredient in the book laid out in front of you. He had become some what like a teacher to you, every chance you got you were here, learning, reading, practicing and he would guide you. Seems like he thought now was still a good time to show you some things.
Isaac had leaned down resting his arms on the table and now at eye level with you. He smirked when he saw your attention on him before asking his question to Deaton, "So, what are you, some kind of witch?"
"No, I'm a veterinarian."
Deaton's reply made you shake your head in amusement. You saw Isaac process the answer with his lips taking an "oh" shape silently, before he looked at you again. It felt like every chance he got, his eyes were stuck on you.
"Unfortunately, I don't see anything here that's going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin. Except for when (Y/N) is able to learn healing abilities, but even then, that could take time we don't have and it would really only be effective after the fact." Your head shot up, your body still leaned over from reading the pages. You glanced at everyone in the room before meeting Deaton's eyes.
"Wait, I can do that?" Deaton chuckled at your astonishment and nodded, "Well that's news to me," you said looking at your best friend.
"We're open to suggestions," Derek continued to conversation. "What about an effective offense," asked Isaac.
"Unlikely," you scoffed as Derek began speaking again, "We already tried, I nearly took its head off. And Argent emptied an entire clip into it. The thing just gets back up."
You mumbled lightly, "I'm really glad I haven't had to fight this thing." The boys looked at you, a certain Alpha showing a very obvious annoyance, "What? I'm sorry, okay. Stiles isn't here to voice my thoughts like he always seems to, I can't help it."
Deaton looked at all of you, "Has it shown any weaknesses?"
Derek answered his question, "Well one- it can't swim."
"Does that go for Jackson as well?"
"No," Scott interjected as you shook your head, your posture now straight and your arms crossed. You continued for the Omega, "He's the captain of the swim team." Deaton nodded along at both inputs, "Essentially, you're trying to catch two people."
He turned grabbing something from a drawer, he show you an amulet, "A puppet... and a puppeteer." He set it on the table and continued, "One killed the husband but the other had to take care of the wife, do we know why?"
Scott piped up gaining everyone's attention, "I don't think Jackson could do it. His mother died pregnant too, and she was maybe murder. I think he couldn't let the same happen to someone else."
"How do you know it's not part of the rules?" Isaac's eyes were slightly glazed over as he stared at the table. When his eyes blinked and his attention was no longer stuck, he continued, "The Kanima kills murderers. If Jackson kills the wife, then the baby dies too."
He looked at Scott and when he did, you felt your body jolt. It was the weirdest sensation and you didn't understand why it happened. It wasn't a normal reaction so your only guess could've been it was something supernatural. You checked to see if anyone noticed and when you confirmed no one did, you made a mental note to ask Deaton about it later.
"Does that mean your father was a murderer," Scott questioned.
"Wouldn't surprise me if he was." His eyes were back in your direction only his focus was on the wall behind you; you were okay with that though, you didn't want him to see the frown you had.
"Hold on. The book says they're bonded, right?" Deaton's hand was held out as he hypothesized, "What if the fear of water isn't coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him." You nodded along adding to his words, "Like they're not only bonded as in partners but mentally." Deaton pointed to you grabbing a small jar.
"What if something that affects the Kanima also affects its master." He circled the sand like substance around the amulet on the table, "Meaning what," Isaac asked.
"Meaning we can catch them," Scott started.
"Both of them," you finished.
~
The next morning consisted of both you and Scott telling Stiles everything on the way to school. "There's got to be some other way to get tickets, right?" Scott hopped out of Roscoe as he finished his question, helping you out as well. Stiles met you both on the sidewalk, "It's a secret show, there's only one way, and it's a secret." You adjusted your bag onto your shoulders, "Real helpful, Stiles," you joked.
"Hey!"
All three of you turned to find Matt, "You guys know why no one's getting suspended after what happened the other day at school?"
"Just forget about it, nobody got hurt," Stiles tried to convince him. Matt gave him a confused look, "I-I had a concussion." You turned your head and laid it into Scott's shoulder, hiding your small laugh threatening to come out.
"Okay well no one got seriously hurt."
"I was in the E.R. for six hours."
"Okay, do you want to know the truth, Matt? Your little bump on the head is about this high on our list of problems right now." Stiles had proven his point even more by leaning over and placing his hand just inches from the concrete. Your cover of your amusement was taken from you when Scott moved forward to ask if Matt was alright.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, now. So, you didn't get any tickets last night either."
"Are they selling?"
"Uh, no, but I managed to find two online. You should keep trying. Sounds like everyone's going to be there." He gave Scott a friendly fist to the shoulder before walking away.
"I don't like him," You and Stiles both said, once he was far enough.
"Hey, are you sure about this," he asked Scott. "Last time, whoever's controlling Jackson had to kill somebody because he didn't finish the job," Scott said.
You chimed in, "So, what do you think he's going to do this time?"
Stiles sighed, "Be there to make sure it happens," He shook his head before both boys turned, taking their places beside you as you walked in the school.
~
"Can anybody tell me where the hell Jackson is and why he missed morning practice?"
Coach was right, practice was already over and there was no sign of Jackson. Everyone shook their heads and Stiles leaned over so you and Scott could hear him better, "I thought I told you to keep an eye on him."
"STILINSKI!" You three straighten and looked at Coach, "Jackson!" Stiles shrugged, "Sorry, Coach I haven't seen him since the last time I saw him."
"Oh, and when was that?"
"The last time I saw him was definitely the time I saw him last."
"Again, Danny, tell Jackson no missing practice this close to the championships, okay," Coach was leaned over in Danny's eyesight. The boy nodded, "Sure, Coach." Coach started to back up into his office, "That goes for all of you. I should be coaching college." He started to close his door but just before he did, he looked at you, "(Y/N), I'm going to need to see you later for game plans."
You nodded, "You got it." He finally closed his door, which allowed the boys to go back to talking to Danny. "Sorry, but I only got two myself," Danny said.
"What- do you even have a date, yet?" Your head snapped to Stiles, your arm shooting out to smack him in the stomach, "Really?"
Danny's tone changed, "I'm working on it."
"Okay, okay, hear me out. You give us the tickets, and you devote your life to abstinence and just-." Before Stiles could finished both him and Scott were pulled away and you felt someone right behind you, "How do you two losers even survive?" It was Isaac, you looked behind you to see him looking between the two boys, his hands still gripping their shirts.
You scoffed and pointed to yourself, "That would be thanks to me, actually." Isaac looked at you and smirked, acknowledging your answer. Scott huffed, "What are we supposed to do? No one's even selling." He gestured to the whole locker room, where all the boys stood around, probably waiting for you to leave so they could begin changing.
Isaac's eyes were focused somewhere in the distance, you felts hands lightly place themselves on your waist guiding you closer to Scott. The tall werewolf patted Stiles on the chest, moving passed him, "Wait here, boys."
All of you gave each other looks of confusion, Scott asking, "What is he-?" But he never got to finish, thanks to the crash caused by Isaac. You guys flinched at the loudness, "Ow," you commented.
"Yup, that's excessive," Stiles added on, the sounds only getting louder as Isaac continued his actions. "That'll bruise."
"Ow," Scott repeated your first comment.
"Wow, okay." Isaac walked back over, tickets in hand, he handed you each one before turning around his hand in his pocket, "Enjoy the show."
You guys were in shock until you broke it with your words, "That was... so hot." Both boys looked at you, wide-eyed, when you saw them you just shrugged, "What? He's on our side now, I can say that."
Stiles pointed at you, "I thought you were mad at him?" Scott nodded in agreement.
You rocked your head from side to side, "I was and still kind of am, but that doesn't mean I can't find that," you circled your hand motioning to the boy walking away, "Extremely attractive." Scott and Stiles both scoffed, the spastic both pushing you slightly, "Get out of here, you dummy, let us change."
You laughed and walked out the room, only making it a few steps out the door before you heard your name once more. You turned to see the boy you were just talking about leaning against the wall, "I heard you." You smiled as cluelessly as you could and walked closer until you were inches from his figure, "Heard what, exactly?"
His arm came around your waist again, this time turning you so your back was pressed up against the wall and his body was trapping you. "You find me attractive, huh?" His eyes were on you, glancing at your lips before reaching your eyes once more, "Always did," you answered. You leaned a little closer missing his lips and bringing yours close to his ear and whispered, "See, isn't it so much more fun when you're on our side?"
You grabbed the wrist of his hand that was laying itself on your waist, removing it gently and sliding out of his grip, "I'll see you tonight, Isaac."
~
"Ketamine?"
"It's the same stuff we use on the dogs, just a higher dosage."
Deaton set down the syringe and bottle, "If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him enough to buy you some time." He turned picking up a jar with that same sand from the other night, "This is some of what you will use to create the barrier. This part is for you, Stiles. Only you." He placed it down and Stiles picked it up his eyebrow raised, "Uh, that sounds like a lot of pressure. Can we maybe find a less pressure-filled task for me?"
"It's from the mountain ash tree, which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural." He gestured to the walls, "This office is lined with ashwood, making it difficult for someone like Scott or (Y/N) to cause me any trouble."
We turned back to Stiles to see him still confused, "Okay, so then what? I just spread this around the whole building and then neither Jackson or whoever's controlling him can't cross it?"
"They'll be trapped," Deaton confirmed.
"Doesn't sound too hard," Scott reassured.
"Not all there is," Deaton said. You sighed and slumped your posture, "There's always something."
"Think of it like gunpowder. It's just powder until a spark ignites it." He pointed to Stiles, "You have to be that spark, Stiles."
"If you mean light myself on fire, I don't think I'm up for that."
Scott looked at Stiles worried and then you to which you rolled your eyes. Deaton gave a silent chuckle, "Let me try a different analogy. I used to golf. I learned that the best golfers never swing before first imagining where they want the ball to go. They see it in their mind and their mind takes over. It can be pretty extraordinary what the force of your own will can accomplish."
Stiles mumbled, "Force of will." You grabbed his hand, "You got this, no sweat."
"If this is going to work Stiles, you have to believe it."
~
The night had finally arrived, your nerves were definitely getting to you. It also didn't help that the car ride over seemed really awkward. Stiles was oddly quiet and you could tell that Scott noticed as well.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
You and Scott shrugged lightly and you spoke, "You didn't say anything the whole way here." Stiles grabbed the bag out of the Jeep and looked at you both, "No, I'm fine. Let's grab the other bag."
Scott looked at Stiles, "We can't, remember Deaton said you have to do this alone."
"Okay, this plan is really starting to suck."
You smiled, "There's our Stiles."
"No, not here, not now."
You turned to see Scott running off, panicked you looked at Stiles who was just as bewildered as you. "What," Stiles said.
"Scott!" You called as Stiles continued on, "What am I supposed to- plan officially sucks!" He looked at you and you just shrugged. "I'm going to go look for Isaac and Erica, you got this Stiles." He waved his hands at you in frustration, "Yeah, whatever, go make out with your boyfriend." You gasped, "He's not my boyfriend!"
"Yet."
You pointed behind him, "Go play with your sand." He huffed a laugh and you turned to make your way into the building. The music could already be heard from inside but still it was quite a shock on how loud it actually was. The lights were blinding, you squinted to try and find the two Betas but to no avail they were no where to be seen in the sea of people.
Deciding that staying on the outskirts was your best course of action, you began to make your way to the side where a line of pillars were. You leaned on one of them as you scanned the area again, looking for any signs of any werewolves.
"You planning on dancing tonight?"
You jumped at the sound of Isaac's voice right in your ear. You turned and you were sure you looked like a deer in headlights considering the boy only started laughing when he saw your face. You punched his shoulder and he faked a wince, "Don't do that! Where's Erica?"
He nudged his head in the direction of the crowd behind you, "In there, thought I would come look for you while she looked for Jackson."
"Me?"
"You and Scott."
You scoffed, "You said me." He smiled making the motion to press his forehead against yours, "Okay, it was mainly for you." You laughed and moved your head away, leaning back on the pillar, "My, you're quite the flirt these days." He shrugged leaning against the pillar with you, one hand in his pocket. He looked down and crossed your pinky with his.
"You're not as mad at me as you have been, it's a little easier now."
You chuckled and nodded, "True, true."
You saw Scott come around the corner, you let go of Isaac and that caused him to look where you were looking. You dashed towards the Omega and hugged him quickly, "Where did you go?"
"Allison's here."
You looked at him, "That means her dad is here." He nodded and started making his way to Isaac, who was still leaning against the pillar watching you guys. Scott handed him the syringe, "Why me," Isaac asked. They were standing side by side while you stood just slightly off from them.
"Because I got to make sure that Argent doesn't completely ruin the plan. Okay, look, you gotta do it intravenously, which means in the vein. When you find him, you pull back on this plunger right here. The neck is probably gonna be the easiest, so you find a vein, you jam it in there, and pull back on this trigger right here. Be careful."
Scott had given him a whole lecture on the plan, Isaac chuckled, "Oh, I doubt it'll even slightly hurt him." Scott shook his head, "No, I mean you. I don't want you to get hurt." Isaac's head shot to the side in surprise. There was this moment of silence between them and that's when you felt it... another jolt. This time it was stronger.
What was going on? Why has it happened twice now?
Your thoughts were broken when hands grabbed your shoulders. You blinked and refocused on Scott, "And you be careful too, okay? Stay out of the way." You scoffed, "Okay, Mom."
"(Y/N), I'm serious."
You laughed and pushed him away, "Yes, I know, I'll be careful. Now go growl at middle aged men." He smiled at you before running off. You and Isaac were left alone once again. He seemed to still be in shock at the conversation he just had.
"I told you so."
"What?"
"I told you, we care about you guys." He turned to see your smirk wearing face. He snickered, "You always have to be right, don't you." You gave a bright smile and a quick nod, "Yep," you grabbed his hand, "Seriously, be careful."
He used the grip you already had on his hand to bring you closer, his forehead back to resting on yours, "I will but it would be nice to have some incentive." You let your eyes lock with his, "Okay, you get out of this alive and I'll forgive you completely." His face practically lit up and he tried to hide it but you saw the bright expression just before he went back to his usual resting smirk.
"Now that's what I like to hear," his head shifted upwards and you felt his lips on your forehead. He pressed them there ever so gently before letting them leave your skin. "I'll see you soon, beautiful," he made the move of leaving first but was stopped by you grabbing the front of his shirt.
"You do anything too sexual with Erica and I'll kill you, Lahey, understand?"
He smirked, "Yes, ma'am."
~
You went to find Stiles after you had set up the area you guys were planning to keep Jackson. You guys had caught each other at the front entrance and you were now making your way towards the room, listening to Stiles excitement on how he had done his task.
You two had made it to the door and when you opened it you had startled the two Beta wolves. "Uh, no, no, no, just us. It's just us. Don't freak," Stiles rambled. You let out a breath of relief when you saw Isaac was alright and it looked like Isaac had done the same when he saw you.
"Is he okay," your best friend asked.
Isaac walked over to Jackson, raising his claw up, "Well... let's find out." When he went to swipe at Jackson his hand was caught as the lizard boy started to crush his hand. Isaac let out a groan of pain and he pulled back as hard as he could. He backed up to guys and you instantly grabbed his arm, "Are you okay?" Even when he was still grunting in pain, he nodded.
"Okay, no one does anything like that again, okay," Stiles pointed to everyone and he received unanimous nods. Isaac groaned one more time, "I thought the ketamine was supposed to put him out."
"Yeah, well, apparently this is all we're gonna get, so let's just hope that whoever's controlling him just decided to show up tonight."
Almost as if on cue, Jackson's eyes opened. You erratically began tapping Stiles and Isaac, "Guys, guys. Something's happening." Everyone watched Jackson as he started to speak, "I'm here." His voiced echoed and you could hear not just Jackson but someone else. It had to be the person controlling him.
"I'm right here with you."
You and Stiles looked at each other and slowly stepped towards the boy in the chair. "(Y/N), come back here." You ignored Isaac's words and crouched next to Stiles.
"Jackson, is that you," you asked quietly.
"Us. We're all here."
Stiles was taken aback by the answer, glancing over his shoulder at the werewolves behind you. "Are you the one killing people," Stiles questioned.
"We're the ones killing murderers."
His voice was full of venom and it was nearly as paralyzing as his actual toxin. It made you shiver out of fear. "So all the people you've killed so far-."
"Deserved it." He cut off Stiles violently.
"We got a little rule book that says you only go after murderers."
"Anything can break if enough pressure is applied."
You looked at Stiles again and took over the questioning, "Alright, so the people you're killing are all murderers then?"
"All. Each. Every one."
"Well, who'd they murder?"
"Me." His reply to your question truly stunned you, "They murdered me." Jackson's eyes rolled into his slitted ones and his head turned straight, "They murdered me." You and Stiles got up and started to back your way to the other two. Isaac had a small grip on your hip, keeping you close. You started to see Jackson's hands move, breaking free from its previous stillness.
"Alright," Stiles panicked, "Ketamine, the man needs more ketamine."
Isaac picked up the bottle, "We don't have anymore." Your best friend whipped around, "You used the whole bottle?" You saw Erica tap Stiles and you all looked to see Jackson standing, he hissed and his head began to shake violently.
"Okay, out, everybody out," you pushed Erica and Stiles forward. They needed no help from you though, all four of you rushed out of the room, bumping into each other until you closed the door. Everyone pressed their back on it and Stiles gave out instruction, "Okay, (Y/N), make a barrier hurry." It was too late, Jackson had busted through the wall and had made a break for it.
You guys all ran for the front door as everyone began leaving, you and Stiles made it outside and he crossed the line meeting Derek who was jogging over.
"Hey so we kind of lost Jackson inside, but it's-," Stiles' attention was on you and the two Betas who had also just walked out. You three were right on the line, they looked at you for reassurance and you raised your hand coming in contact with an invisible wall, it glowed a blueish color as you put more pressure on it.
"Oh, my god! It's working! Oh this is- yes! I did something!"
You heard a roar, it was so guttural. You felt the heat in your eyes, this time it was intense, if you weren't used to it by now it might have actually bugged you.
Scott
"Scott?" Derek had voiced your thought, he looked at you, he saw your eyes glow and he heard it too. The roar of a dying Scott.
"What," Stiles turned to Derek.
"Break it."
"What? No way!"
"Scott's dying!"
"What? How do you know that?"
"Oh, my god, Stiles! I just know! Break it!" Stiles broke the line and Derek took off. You could feel your feet moving before you could even think as you started to try and run too. You were stopped, however, by Isaac grabbing you, both arms wrapped around you.
"NO! LET GO! ISAAC! LET GO! SCOTT HE- HE'S HURT! YOU HAVE TO LET ME GO!" It was almost manic how much you thrashed to try and get out of the boy's hold. He held on tighter, "(Y/N), no, okay you can't, you can't fight yet. Derek will save him, okay, Derek will save him."
Your eyes were pouring tears at this point, "No, no, Scott he needs help, he needs me," you whimpered as you fell to the ground, Isaac coming with you but his arms never leaving their position around you.
His lips pressed against your hair and he just continued to comfort you, "I know, baby, I know. But he's gonna be okay. Derek's gonna save him. You have to stay here, okay, baby?"
You nodded still crying now holding onto Isaac like your life depended on it, muttering the same thing over and over again, "Scott he's- he's dying. He's dying- he's-."
"It's okay, baby, it's gonna be okay."

Question: what were Jackson’s thoughts on Camden? Was Cam asked to babysit little Jackson and Isaac?
ABSOLUTELY!!!
Usually Jackson would have a babysitter on those days where his parents would work late but something that babysitter can't come over maybe they got sick or maybe mom and dad had to leave on an emergency and Camden gets paid more than two months of his allowance to babysit the most stubborn 6-year old he's ever known (other than his brother)
Jackson and Isaac (i very much hc) were childhood friends, with their houses being so close and them attending the same school and playing in recess together, it wasn't that big of a deal when Jackson stayed over at the Lahey house.
Mr. Lahey would mostly sit infront of the television, beer can in hand as he watched the news. Mrs. Lahey as long as she was in good health would be in the kitchen, making a batch of cookies for the bookclub she attended every saturday night. Camden would corral both Isaac and Jackson into the backyard in the golden hours of the evening and sit on the back porch, either doing homework assignments or cracking away at a sudoku puzzle (the only obsession he ended up taking with him to the army).
He'd rarely have to butt in with his brother and Jackson. Unless either of their stubborn asses would begin a fight over a toy or something the like. Then it was screams and yanking and one of them always ends up with a tantrum and stomping off into the side of the house to sulk. Camden always used bribes of small chocolate bars to coax them back into the backyard.
I could go on and on about hcs with this but overall, Camden loves his brother and doesn't mind Jackson. He is however a man of his words and Jackson would always be fine and happy in his own way by the time his parents come back.

Just a normal game night, right?
Characters: Isaac Lahey x male reader, Cato x male reader, Logan (OC) x male reader
Universe: Mostly Teen Wolf?
Warnings: Slight smut, cheating
Authors note: Okay guys, I have no idea what happened. I wanted to write a normal Teen Wolf story, but for some reason, Cato from “The hunger games”, got a small spot. As well as my real first OC. I think, he will be in a couple of more stories. So have fun... I guess? :D
Everything started at a game night. Something your friends and you did quite often, when the streets are peaceful and the world is a happy place. It does not come often, but sometimes you had this luxury.
Most of the time, it was just that. A little game night. With scribble, monopoly, uno and all the other good stuff, that can bring the worst in people. But this time it was different. More and more people showed up. At some point, even some you did not know.
Your friends on the other hand, seemed happy. That was the moment you got to know, that they actually meant this to become a party and let the „lame games“, be a part of the past. Of course you weren’t happy, because you always thought that everyone had fun. To know that this was just to make you happy, hurt you. Still you stayed. Just to not look like boring person a party pooper.
Soon after alcohol swept the room. Everyone became intoxicated with the exception of a few people, you were one of them. You found yourself in a group, with people you had never seen before. Four guys and tow girls, one of the guys was gay, and one girl too, they were both single, but got taken with some of their friends. The other four were only there, because they got dragged out by their significant others, to keep an eye on them.
One of the guys told you, that his girlfriend is an angry drunk, that he needs to keep in check, to not get into problems again. While another one, told you that his girlfriend can’t control herself around other people, when she is intoxicated. Which to be honest, frightened you for him. To never know, if your significant other would cheat on you, was horrible.
Despite your hurt feelings, you became fast friends with the people. Happy, to not be alone, while you got ditched by your friends, boyfriend and even older brother.
„Why are you here?“, the first guy who had opened up about his significant other asked you.
A glommy smile across your face, already told you, it wasn’t something nice, „Well this is my brothers house and we had a game night. Apparently game nights a lame and none of the people here, liked them. So yeah, not really a good night.“
The entire group looked at you stunned, sympathetic and actually angry, „Really? Game nights are the best. Screaming at each other, when you think, that they cheated never believing what anyone else says ever again. I actually would like this more, than a party,“ the girl who always looks around, in search for her boyfriend, told you.
It brought a faint smile on your face. But maybe just as your friends, they were just nice to you. „Do you guys like sports?“
For a moment most of you, just looked funny at the second guy who had opened up. Obviously not comfortable in social settings.
„Everything that has to do with balls,“ you and the other gay guy simultaneously. Smiling at each other, you gave a high five. Which brought the guys to chuckle lowly.
„That was obvious, at least one of you does this regularly, right?“, he looked questioningly at you. A sad red blush came over your cheeks.
„Not really anymore. He is not in the moods, which absolutely devastated me, because he made me addicted to it.“
You could see how uncomfortable this made the threes straight guys, not entirely believing, you would say something like this. „But I like ice hockey and football“, you added in a panic.
„Why?“, the other gay guy wanted to inquire.
You just shrugged with your shoulders. „Because of the brutality of men ramming into each other, proving who is more manly. But also of their bodies, he liked more muscular guys.“ The second straight guy told the gay one, without batting his eyes.
Confused you stared at him for a while. For the first time, you had the feeling that you know him. But could not really place him. As he turned to you, winking you immediately recognized him, „Logan? What the fuck?“, you asked loudly, almost wanting to jump in his arms.
A slight smirk showed you that he knew it was you for a while, „Took you some time. I know it, because I was his first. After practice in high school, he searched for one of his friends and saw my half naked. He took every centimeter in. I let my towel fall and before I actually could think twice, he already was on his knees. Well, the rest is history.“
You cheeks began to flare up. He got hotter within the years. The other gay guys, looked between you two, but could not feel anything. „It was a one time thing?“, he asked curiously.
Logan nod, „Yeah, I’m actually not into guys, but it was the moment, that really turned me on. We were friends for the rest of school, and nothing happened after the one time.“
„Yeah because most guys I find attractive are straight sadly,“ you murmured almost silently.
„What is with your boyfriend?“, one of the other guys wanted to know. He had heard you, before.
With a heavy heart you looked at him, „He is great, but I have the feeling, that he also is not really into guys. I met him when he was dumped by a girl. Since then I believe he only took me as a rebound. That was nine month ago. Which is even worse, he is a great lover.“
Before any of them could react to it, A commotion could be heard. As the guy besides you turned around, he became pale, „Kayla stop! No bad Kayla, put that down! No you will not him with this!“, he screamed all over the place. „Kayla stop!“ Finally he ran to her, holding her down and carrying her out, „Was nice to get to know you guys, maybe we see us soon!“, he called over his shoulder.
„Well I take this, in searching for my girl as well,“ the third guy told you guys, while the girl began to search for her boyfriend. At the end, Logan and you, did the same, saying your goodbyes to the last two, without any commitment.
„I can’t find my boyfriend, what about your girlfriend?“, you asked Logan who actually protected you from the masses. With him being taller and with more mass, it was just a normal thing.
„No, maybe upstairs? In one of the bathrooms or so?“
Just by the sound of it, your stomach turned. Logan could see you getting paler. He himself did not feel good as well. Both go you had heard about things like this, of course you did. You are at college.
He began to walk up the stairs, before you. While you slowly walked behind him, eyes on the stairs and not his delicious looking behind.
„You look right and I’m left?“, he asked in a unsure tone. But you declined his offer the moment you said it.
„No, we should look together,“ you mumbled into his side. Trying to find a hold at him. He gladly gave it to you. He knew how hard it was to trust someone. You looked hot, always has, but never had you a relationship.
As a friend he was concerned, now he was pissed, because his girl was gone too. And he wasn’t the guy, someone would cheat on.
In the most rooms were people making out or more, but nothing out of the ordinary for you two. Until you came to a bathroom. As Logan opened it, you saw your boyfriend. Balls deep in a good looking brunette girl. Which after the look your friend gave her, was his girl.
As you cleared your throat. Isaac immediately stopped his movements. He slowly turned his head and his eyes widened. Before he could say something, Logan already punched him out of his girl. But more than the one punch got nor thrown. Because you pulled him out, before more could happen.
With his hand in yours, you pulled him behind you. You were smaller skinnier and weaker than he was, but he still let himself handle by you. „I can’t believe that Allison cheated on me!“, he cried out, as you almost were out of the house.
„Allison?“, you asked angry, „Argent?“
„Yeah, do you know her?“ He desperately wanted to know. But you did not answer him, instead you let go of his hand, walked back upstairs and a moment later, came back. A bit of blood on your cheek.
„You were not the first guy she cheated on, with my ex-boyfriend.“
He looked completely devastated at you, „Do you know a group of maybe college football players, who need someone to get their sexual frustration out? You know, taking someone completely trough and not caring for them afterwards?“
His anger slowly vanished, as he understood the implication. „I have a house full of those guys. They look good too.“
„Great you drive!“, you told him. Later in the car he came to understand, why. Because you were too preoccupied to help him relax.
You woke up the evening after. Logan slowly caressing your head, „Fuck my body hurts,“ you cursed loudly.
„Well me and my guys did a number on you,“ Logan chuckled lightly. „Thank you.“
„I have to thank. I never had so much sex in my life, with so many hot guys and they were so fucking nice. Even clean me after everyone. Saying sweet nothings. God I would date all of you at the same time.“
It comfortable silence came over you two. Until you asked Logan for his phone. You tipped a bit on it, „What is that?“, he asked confused, but not sopping to caress your head.
„Go there on Monday about three o’clock. Tell the worker, Rachel that you are Logan, a friend of mine. I believe you two would make a great couple. But please don’t use her, she is an amazing person.“
Logan was still confused. Nothing what you had said, made any real sense. „She knows of our escapades. And she likes to watch muscular guys fuck other guys. All of her relationships broke, because her boyfriends wouldn’t do this for her.“
He was utterly speechless. But soon after a smile crossed his face. „Monday eight o’clock in the evening, wait at the edge of the ice hockey ring in the city. A blond guy, his name is Cato. He is really sweet, caring and an open bisexual player. He actually has a thing for you. With a little help of me of course. I always brought him to places you would be. Because I did not forget one of my most intim and best friends.“
It was a low blow, because he knew how bad your memory is, „You build feelings in a guy, to date me? Really? Is this not a bit manipulating?“ Still a smile across your face, told him enough.
„I saw your glances at him, when you watched him play. Don’t act if it wouldn’t be a dream of yours, to be crushed by his muscles and from the locker rooms I can tell you. A night with the entire football team, is nothing in comparising to a night with him. He has a monster between his legs.“
„You aren’t small yourself,“ you laughed, as you grabbed between his legs, just to find him already hard, „One last round for the way, before we meet hopefully our happy endings on monday?“
„Fuck yeah!“, he almost screamed as he landed on you, kissing you, already one of your legs on his shoulder. Looking you in the eyes, as he slowly dipped into you.

just gonna jump the gun on the ask game - 01 for our favorite teen wolfs
OH LETS GOOOOO this took me a while to answer because i have been formulating . i've been ideating. none of this will be a shock . but i have so much to say.
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:
Favorite character: DEREK HALE completely unsurprisingly. Literally from season 1 episode 1. I love him so much.
Least Favorite character: THEO RAEKEN Even in my rewatch I didn't like him, which makes him okay as a villain but I don't even really like him as a villain. also started my teen wolf rewatch when i was rewatching pll and kept calling him mike.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): STEREK literally from day 1 also. The only fic i read for teen wolf is sterek. SCISAAC also from the first time i watched the show. there's something so special to me about scott and isaac together i love them so much STALIA i didn't actually like them together when i first watched the show but rewatching it??? holy shit. they were so so so so good for each other and it broke my heart when they broke up. one of the scenes in s5 where malia says she knows stiles had to kill one of the chimeras but 'it didn't matter' /didn't affect how much she cared about him so she didn't bring it up??? holy shit. that paired with 'i would never leave without you' GOD I LOVE MALIA TATE STYDIA spoilers for a show that ended in 2017 but i did in fact cry when they ended up together. dont forget i love you?? bitch im going to scream ALLYDIA i got one of my friends to start teen wolf and they sent me a message like midway through season 1 and said 'do people ship allison and lydia?" and the answer is yes. me. i'm people.
Character I find most attractive: DEREK HALE also 'character most frequently covered in blood' and 'character most likely to be in distress'
Character I would marry: DEREK HALE i mean. come on.
Character I would be best friends with: ISAAC LAHEY he is SO important to me and i loved him even more with rewatching the show. someone please be nice to him.
a random thought:
An unpopular opinion: I FUCKING LOVE SCOTT MCCALL . i know a lot of people dont! i understand! but i love him so much. scott is probably my second favorite character in the show. he is . chefs kiss. a lot of that also comes from loving tyler posey. + i am GENUINELY excited for the movie. I know most people are not! i am. if you ask yourself 'who asked for this movie?' the answer is tumblr user stilinskiderek. i asked.
My Canon OTP: STALIA not a ship that lasted but my favorite canon ship ever. i loved them together so so much and i missed their dynamic in season 6
My Non-canon OTP: SCISAAC HEAR ME OUT i know i have a sterek url i also love sterek BUT i think Scisaac could've been made canon so easily whereas sterek couldn't have. I GENUINELY think if Isaac was a female character he would've ended up with Scott. Their personalities worked so so well together and I really think they could've been canon!!!
Most Badass Character: DEREK HALE like for the sheer number of times this man has brushed death and survived. jesus CHRIST.
Most Epic Villain: VOID!STILES the other characters having to fight with a person they were FRIENDS WITH?? stiles is scott's BROTHER like holy SHIT. god. the emotional turmoil. dylan obrien killed it. the divine move is one of my favorite episodes of the entire show.
Pairing I am not a fan of: DRAEDEN it just felt...out of nowhere? and kind of weird? i think because season 4 was when hoechlin wasn't a series regular anymore so derek wasn't a key character in every episode it felt like their relationshp was super rushed and just. didn't fit either one of their characterizations.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): DEREK HALE i could talk about this until the cows come home. i think that derek was not treated with any sort of importance despite being a main character, and i don't think the literal trauma and abuse he suffered at the hands of kate argent was ever properly addressed. a lot of his actions and the way he treats people are obviously based in that experience but there was absolutely NO attempt at resolving it or even really acknowledging it. It should've been something, especially in season 4 with kate coming back, but it wasn't. i'm never going to not be mad about it. in that same vein, i think derek and isaac's relationship could've been way more impactful if the writers gave a fuck about derek. with the other hale betas in s2, jackson, erica, and boyd all have 'real'/biological families they can go home to. jackson's might not be great but he still has somewhere else to go. the only person isaac had was derek, which puts derek begrudgingly into this older brother/dad role for isaac that could've been incredible HAD THE WRITERS DONE ANYTHING WITH IT!! clearly isaac is living in the loft with derek but ?? that's all we ever get. what could've been a really great found family moment was absolutely nothing, and watching the scene in s3 where derek is terrified of the alpha pack coming for him TO THE POINT WHERE HE SENDS ISAAC AWAY TO KEEP ISAAC SAFE makes me so mad because if that relationship had been developed that scene would've been even MORE heartbreaking. isaac is being sent away by the only person he has in the world and that hurts but derek should've also been hurting because he's trying to protect this kid he took in but he can't explain it to him and i just. it could've been the bella/charlie scene in twilight but it wasn't!!!
Favourite Friendship: SCOTT/STILES stiles has scott's back through literally everything and god the scene in motel california with the flare breaks me every single time.
Character I most identify with: LYDIA okay this was hard for me to answer because i identify with a lot of them but in different ways?? then i remembered one time my friend sophie asked me to pick a teen wolf sun/moon/rising sign which i think fits this question. my rising sign is Scott, my moon sign is Lydia, and my rising sign is Malia. I think out of all of them I identify the most with Lydia!! i love her.
Character I wish I could be: DANNY I just want to be adjacent to all of the chaos and observe from afar. the way he knew about the werewolves because nobody can whisper in beacon hills is so special to me. i also love that he's the singular side character who was not made supernatural and did not die, just vibed the entire time.
