THIS PLACE IS ABOUT TO BLOW.
The night had barely veiled the sky, when Muzan hopped down from the car. After years of searching for that place, he had finally found it. The road was silent, exceptionally silent, and everything was set. For weeks he had tried to fetch Kagaya a blow. After the little stunt he had pulled with his daughter, with you, Muzan craved more. His arms factory, the industry located in a secret location that nobody could ever find, was now under his nose.
The new recruit, Kaigaku, had done a pretty decent job in stalking his cousin all the way here. Such a pity that a fine building was about to turn into ashes in a few minutes. Bombs had been activated in every angle of the company and all it would have taken to make them explode was a simple remote he was currently holding into his hand. A small black device with a red button in the middle.
"I believe there's still someone inside" Nakime pointed out, scrutinizing the area with a pair of binoculars and spotting two cars in the parking lot.
Muzan did not even bother glancing at them, he closed his eyes for a second and a small grin crossed his lips. There was such a difference between the person he was now and the one he was around you. He did not want to fail to attend your dinner, he went mad when he was not around you. Yet, he could not turn into somebody else only because now you were part of his life. If you love someone, you learn to love their edges too, right?
Also, everything he was doing now was for you.
"Awesome. This only means there will be some collateral damages" Muzan replied, before shoving his hand into his breast pocket and pulling a phone out to check the time. It would have been foolish bringinghis main device in the area. The police would have reasonably been able to track him down and, frankly, the last thing he needed was to be arraigned on a charge of murder.
Studying the area before attacking had granted him the chance to find a blind spot where the videocameras could not catch even small glimpses of them. Yet, since there seemed to still be people into the building, and he was smart enough to figure that some of them were Slayers, they had to be ready to fight. Bringing with him his most cold-blooded assassins would have surely helped me to get the job done in a matter of seconds.
"Be nimble. Don't toy with your victims. — Muzan said, his plum red eyes darting on the silver-haired man at his left — I'm talking to you, idiot" he remarked, earning a grin from Douma.
His presence alone was enough to irk Muzan. He would have gladly asked Kokushibo to take care of this but, since he could not trust Douma around you, he had no other choice than switch the roles of his bodyguards.
"Can I, at least, kidnap a lady? You know, like a souvenir to remember this glorious night" Douma chimed, causing Nakime to grimace in disgust and Muzan to load up the gun he kept on his belt.
As the raven-haired politician turned to face Douma and pointed the gun at him, the bodyguard knew it was time to shut up. It was not the first time Muzan killed someone. Five bodyguards had been murdered in the last two years, all murdered by the said man.
"Do not give me an excuse to blow your brains out  – Muzan deadpanned, locking eyes with Douma before turning to glance briefly at Nakime – Get in position now, both of you" he added shortly.
In a few seconds, the lights into the building they were watching turned down. Kaigaku had finally caused the blackout in the area. A few seconds passed by, before a couple of Slayers ran out of the building and checked the area around the parking lot. Their blades glimmered under the moonlight as their eyes searched for possible threats. They seemed young, probably barely around their early twenties. It was clear that they were no match for the two Moons ready to strike them down. They waited in the darkenss, until the taller one noticed the shiny car parked on the side of the road.
"Fox, that car doesn't belong to any of us" he pointed out, his turquoise eyes widening even so slightly in the futile attempt to catch some details that coukd have helped him to figure out what was going on. However, they were too far for that and they ventured down the desert street to approach the vehicle.
The other Slayer, the one wearing a white Fox mask with a peculiar scar on it, walked beside his dark-haired colleague. His grip on the hilt of his katana was tight, his knuckles had turned white as they carefully devoured the distance between them and the car. He seemed more tense than the other, as if he was expecting to be attacked at any given chance. Yet, it was not enough to save them.
It happened before they could even realize it. As the taller one got close enough to peek into the opened window of the parked vehicle, a knife was thrown at his back and impaled his right  shoulderblade. A wince of pain left his lips as he turned around hastily and slashed at the brunette woman standing a few strides away from him.
"Yuichiro!" the masked slayer yelled out, the blood spilling out from his colleague's wound splattered over his white mask.
Nakime dodged the attack and drew another knife from the suspender on her thigh "Good evening, fellas" she cooed, her red-painted lips curling up in a smile as Douma joined her and unfolded his tessens. He pouted, cocking his head to the side as he let hsi multicolored orbs analyze his opponents outfits.
"Distasteful choice of colors for your suits... The mask is cute, though, but I would love to look my enemy straight in the eye, as I tear him apart. I hope you don't mind it, dear" the Second in Command cheerfully said, before quickly slashing at the mask covering the shorter slayer's visage.
The sound of the two pieces of wood clattering on the dirty ground made the peach-haired guy flinch and his lavander eyes glint in anger. That blow, so fast and precise, could have killed him right on the spot. How was he not able to dodge it? There was no doubt that the two strangers in fornt of them were skilled fighters. They were Moons. They clearly had no chances against them and his mind only screamed for one thing: the urge to protect Makomo and the secretary, Kotoha. They needed to run as far away as possible and to call for someone to help them out.
If they somehow managed to survive.
"Go to call Makomo and Kotoha. Tell them to go, tell Makomo I love her" Fox said through gritted teeth, not even galncing at Yuichiro for a second.
"Sabito, no! If you think I'm going to leave you alone, you're clearly out of your mind" Yuichiro spat, before he coughed up some blood on his hand.
At that sight, Douma smiled brightly and nudged Nakime's ribs with his elbow "Woah, you compromised his lungs! Good job!" he beamed, as the brunette simply twirled the knife between her fingers and threw it at the already wounded slayer, hoping to get it through his heart.
As she aimed for the organ, Sabito's eyes switched on her as he was quick to knock it out of Yuichiro's way with an horizontal slash of his katana.
Nakime sighed "You know, I was doing your friend a favor by stabbing him through his heart. I was saving him all of this sufferings... Nevermind, though" she whispered, as she got ready to throw another knife.
However, a sudden shotgun and the sight of Yuichiro's dead body slumping onto the ground were enough to make her flinch. The bullet had went clean through the slayer's head, killing him right on the spot. While Nakime knew exactly who had fired the gun, Sabito's eyes widened in horror as he knelt down next to his comrade as if shaking his shoulder could bring him back to life. It was pointless. Yuichiro Tokito was dead. A tickle of blood was running down the curve of his nose, contrasting with his pale skin and the glassy eyes now staring into the void. It was over, it was all over.
"Incompetent Moons are a pain in the ass. Worthless, you are worthlesss" Muzan Kibutsuji flatly said, his deep voice piercing their ears before he came to their vision.
Soft whimpers and shaky breaths filled the air, as two women walked slowly in front of him. One of them was younger, her tiny hand hold a broken blade in her hand as her blue eyes serached for Sabito's ones. Her left eyebrow was cut, as if someone had smacked her and, as Muzan kicked her on her back, making her fall face down on the cobblestone, it was pretty clear who had done it. The other one was around her thirties, emerald eyes contrasting with long and dark hair loosened down her small shoulders. She was terrified, tears streaming down her cheeks as she watched the scene before her eyes.
"Muzan Kibutsuji" Sabito hissed, trying to craddle Makomo in his arms, as the tiny girl sobbed in fear and gripped the fabric of her boyfriend's shirt in her little fists.
Muzan gripped the older woman's hair and made her wince in agony, before he shoved her against Douma's chest, as a sign for him to hold her still. The silver-haired man sneered and gladly wrapped his hands around her wrists, holding them tightly behind her back. His breath fanned her earlobe, making the woman shiver in fear.
"What's your name, honey?" Douma whispered, propping his chin over her shoulder.
"Kotoha. Hashibira Kotoha" she merely murmured, squeezing her eyes shut in fear as Muzan loaded his gun again and walked up towards the young couple of slayers, sitting at his feet.
It was their end. No one was going to save them.
"That's right. It's my name. — Muzan replied, pointing his gun at Sabito's head — I've tried to ask them about it, but all they were capable of telling me were pleas for mercy. How pathetic... Tell me, is there someone else in the building?" he coldly asked him, his finger ready to pull the trigger as soon as the slayer had given him the answer he needed.
Sabito held Makomo tightly, tears welling up in his eyes, as he refused to waste his last breath to talk to him. Instead, he pressed his lips against Makomo's temple and closed his eyes.
"I love you. Close your eyes" he whispered softly.
Two shotguns filled the air, some bids flying away from the brench of a nearby tree as Kotoha almost fell on her knees. She knew she would have been the next, her heart was thrumming in her chest in anticipation as thanked the God for what had happened that morning.
If Inosuke had not changed his shift with Yuichiro, the young boy laying on her ground would have been her son.
"Nakime. You know what to do. A 'K' on her left cheek, now. Hurry up" Muzan ordered his Fourth in Command as Douma gripped Kotoha's jaw to hold her head firmly.
Terror filled her eyes as she tried to wriggle in Douma's grip, only to earn an amused chuckle from the sadistic Moon behind her "Come on, hold on tight, it's like a tattoo" he crooned, as Nakime pierced her cheek with the cold blade of her knife.
Screams of pain shattered the silent night as the Fourth in Command neatly cut on her flawless skin, dark blood oozing down from the lines forming the shape of a 'K'. The mark of Muzan, his message for Ubuyashiki.
"Please, stop! It hurts! I can't!" Kotoha screetched, as Nakime finally stepped back and Muzan flicked his gaze up to admire her work of art.
There was no sympathy in his eyes as he reached his hand up to tuck a strand of Katoha's hair behind her ear, apathy in his visage as he grasped her hand delicately and pulled her closer to him. He did not care about the pain he was putting her through. She was a tool for him to send a message to his enemy.
"Your role is important, my dear. You will deliver my message to Kagaya Ubuyashiki" Muzan said, holding her gaze as she sobbed uncontrollably.
His words confused her. Was he going to spare her? The dim ounce of hope seemed to twinkly in her eyes as she wiped some blood and tears from her face with the sleeve of her shirt.
"What do you mean? Do I have to call him? Do you want me to be a messanger?" she naively asked him, her shoulder shaking as she tried to collect her breath.
This made him smile faintly. His hand reached for something behind his back, as he made sure her gaze was transfixed on him. Kotoha Hashibira was indeed a sweet woman.
His free hand held up her chin as he spoke out again "Yeah, exactly. You are going to be my messanger, Kotoha. But, you see, I got nothing to tell him. Therefore, my message has be graphic. That is why I do believe in killing the messanger" Muzan reasoned, grasping the handle of the switchblade he had hidden in his back.
Her eyes went round as she shook her head "No! No, please! Why?" she screamed, but the blade through her heart made her choke on her words.
Blood dripped out of her mouth as Muzan stared deeply into her eyes and helped her to lay down onto the ground.
"Because it sends a message" he whispered in her ear, as she twitched a few last times, before life abandoned her body.
Silence swallowed them again, as Muzan grasped the controller and his bodyguards got back into the car. He stared at the building one last time, before hopping into the passenger seat. As Douma began to drive away, Muzan rested his thumb onto the red button and, with a click, the industry exploded. The sound of the explosion felt like music to his ears and he watched the smoke and flames envelope it through the rear view mirror.
"He stood me up. He fucking stood me up" you slurred, eyes wide open as you stared up at Kokushibo in pure shock. You could not believe Muzan had cancelled your dinner through a stupid message.
Now, all dolled up and drunk, you were talking to his First in Command about how pathetic and stupid you felt for not having got back at him for that.
"As if buying me some Valentino dress and these stupid shoes... Argh, I have even forgotten the name of their brand" you ranted, dipping your head between your arms as you closed your eyes in irritation. You had drunk too much, that was evident, and now an exhaspered Kokushibo was forced to raise from him chair and help you to stand up.
"I think it's time to go home. – he lowly said, clearing his throat to catch your attention — And the brand of your shoes is Louboutin" he added, making you quirk up your eyebrows and smile up at him.
"Aw, that's so cute, you remembered the brand for me! Yeah, let's go home! Let's go! I wanna set his stupid collections of ancient tapestries on fire!" she chimed, giggling as the stoic man's ears turned pink for the embarrassment.
The restaurant was empty at that hour. You were the last two guests left in here, since you had kept on ordering bottle after bottle to drown your anger and sadness into expensive wine. Actually, all that you felt now was a suffocating dissatisfaction. You could barely stand on your heels and you clung to Kokushibo's arm as a koala.
As you almost toppled down a table, the man exhaled through his nostrils and hauled you over his shoulder making you squeak out in surprise.
"Coconut! Coconut, let me down! I can perfectly walk!" you protested, blushing as the waiters stared at you two with uncomfortable expressions plastered over their faces. They had recognized you, obviously, but Kokushibo had paid them enough to keep their mouths shut about this little stunt you had pulled.
"Stop calling me that" Kokushibo said, walking through the exit and up to his car. Just a little longer, he had to try not to strangle you for a little longer.
However, you were far from being done. Annoying Kokushibo was an art you had crafted since the first day you two crossed paths. It was in your veins, you were born for it.
"Oh, I understand! You were just looking for an excuse to stare at my ass, were you not?!" you taunted him, bursting out laughing for your own stupid joke.
"I suggest you to shut up" he warned you in a stern tone.
"I suggest you to take that broom out of your ass".
It was enough. He wanted to choke the life out of you, yet you were absolutely cute at times. Now, now as you were pestering him, you were hilarious too and he could not take it anymore. You were ready to say something else, he felt the muscles of your abdomen flex over his shoulder as you took a deep breath. This time, though, you were going to swallow your shallow speeches.
You did not process it, all you knew was that you found yourself settled onto the hood of his car and his maroon eyes bored into yours for a split second. What followed was his hand grasping your jaw and his mouth capturing yours in a passionate kiss that made your toes curl into your shoes.
It lasted a few seconds, your hands settled on each side of you for balance as his tongue explored your mouth. You were drunk, really, but sober enough to feel how passionate he was.
"Will you shut up for the rest of ride?" he breathed out, as the kiss broke.
Of course you were going to shut up.

Dog Days
Shinobu Kochou x She/Her Reader
A/N: Request for @ross-ayase Thank you for your patience! It’s longer than I wanted it to be, but I also feel like it goes too fast over some parts. I hope you still enjoy it. There also may be more errors than usual because I’m too tired to edit right now, but I promise I’ll give it a closer look at a later date. Word Count: 6,523
Shinobu took one look at who had arrived before her to the Master’s mansion and suppressed the urge to groan as she gracefully knelt upon the vacant cushion beside her.
“Kochou!” The Hashira beside her grinned, “I was hoping you would be literally anyone else!”
“Likewise.” Shinobu replied, facing forward, same smile as always adorning her face.
The rivalry between Shinobu and (Y/n) had started all the way back when they were first training to become demon slayers. Something that still hasn’t changed at all even after all of these years later, finding themselves both at the highest rank a slayer could be bestowed with. At least the days when they used to brawl at the drop of a hat were over. Shinobu claimed she was much too mature to stoop to that level, (Y/n)’s level, anymore. Although she was usually the one to start any physical altercations in the past… but make no mistake, though their quarrels were less explosive, the way they spoke to each other could be like a fist fight all on its own.
Although they seemed to speak to each other in pleasant tones, if someone took the time to actually listen to what they were saying, they would turn tail and run as fast as they could to not get caught in the crossfire.
There was no time for them to really dig into each other this morning, as Kagaya arrived on Amane’s arm not long after Shinobu’s arrival and as much as the pair loved to bicker and attempt to one-up each other, they would never dare do so in front of the Master.
“(Y/n), Shinobu, thank you both for joining me this morning.” The Master spoke warmly, once his wife eased him down.
“Good morning, Oyakata-sama. We’re happy to be of service.” (Y/n) and Shinobu spoke in near perfect unison, both subtly glaring at the other as they bowed reverently.
The Master chuckled quietly. “You two are almost always in sync after being friends for so long. That is why I know you two will be perfect for this mission.”
Shinobu’s smile tightened and (Y/n)’s eye twitched slightly.
“This mission will be a very… odd one to say the least, but as long as you watch out for each other, I don’t think it will be a particularly difficult assignment, but I believe the fine tuned skills of a couple Hashira will sort out the trouble our lower ranks have been having in this area. I am asking you, (Y/n), Shinobu, to investigate the sudden disappearances of our slayers and destroy whatever demon or demons are responsible.”
***
“Are we there yet?” (Y/n) asked with a smirk, walking beside Shinobu down the rugged road.
“You know that we are not.” Shinobu sighed, doing her best to let the words drip off of her like water off a duck’s back. “Now if you could refrain from asking for the twelfth time in half an hour, it would be much appreciated. As far as I’m concerned the mission had already begun, so can you take this seriously please?”
An amused scoff left (Y/n)’s lips. “My name is Shinobu~ I’m a proper young lady now~ blah blah blah.” She poked Shinobu’s back with each consecutive ‘blah’.
“And my name is (Y/n), an insufferable girl who has failed at showing decorum since the day she was born~” Shinobu mimicked back, smacking (Y/n)’s hand away from her with a karate-chop-esque strike.
“I’m just poking fun at you, lighten up.” (Y/n) rubbed her hand. “You poke at Tomioka all the time.”
“That’s different.”
“Is it? What, you have a crush on him or something?”
Shinobu side-eyed (Y/n) before facing the road in front of them again, still walking ever closer to their destination. (Y/n) frowned at Shinobu’s silence and looked away, fists clenched. They were quiet the rest of the journey until they made it to the village.
“They have a lot of stray dogs around here…” (Y/n) commented as they entered the village.
“I was trying to ignore that fact, but yes, it is an unusual amount for a village this size.” Shinobu said, pulling her hand away from a dog who ventured close enough to sniff at her.
“Still don’t like cute, furry animals?” (Y/n) snickered, offering her own hand for the friendly stray to sniff before lightly scratching behind his ears.
“Don’t touch strange dogs, (Y/n), honestly…” Shinobu scoffed lightly, “you don’t know where its been. It could have fleas, mange, rabies… I said, stop that.” Shinobu pulled (Y/n) away from the dog by the back of the collar of her uniform and continued to walk through the village. “We have a mission to complete and I’m not wasting what little supplies I brought to patch up a dog bite.”
“Come on, he’s friendly! You’re as much of a killjoy as ever, you know that?”
“Excuse me, have you noticed anything odd about your village in the past few weeks?” Shinobu was already moving along with the mission, asking villagers about the goings on.
The influx of stray dogs was indeed a phenomenon that had only occurred within the last two weeks. Along with this, a dozen villagers had gone missing alongside the slayers who had been sent to the village before them, usually gone without a trace. There had been a few instances where they had found clothes identifiable as belonging to missing persons, but that was the only lead they had.
“So there’s definitely a demon around here who’s turning people into dogs, right?” (Y/n) said once they stopped at a little roadside vendor for an early dinner.
“We don’t know that.” Shinobu replied, after sipping her tea. “Don’t jump to conclusions.”
“Hey, didn’t you get saddled with helping a bunch of spider people get back to normal? It’s totally feasible! You just don’t want to agree with me because you’re stubborn.”
“It’s too early in the investigation to be certain. Even if there is a demon blood art that can turn people into dogs, we shouldn’t approach thinking we know the whole situation. We don’t even know how many demons were dealing with yet, if we find one, whose to say it’ll have the power you are expecting it to have?”
(Y/n) stuck her tongue out and Shinobu and then groaned, she leaned back, bracing herself with her hands curling around the back edge of the bench she and Shinobu shared. “Okay, smarty pants.”
Shinobu subtly rolled her eyes and took another sip of her tea and it was quite for a few minutes as they watched the sun slowly sink beneath the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant orange and pink. Shinobu felt eyes on her and caught (Y/n)’s eye before she could completely turn her attention elsewhere.
“Yes?” Shinobu rose an eyebrow, finding the odd expression on (Y/n)’s face curious. She had never quite seen anything like that look before. Granted, she hadn’t seen (Y/n) in a couple months, which could feel like a lifetime in the quick-paced lives of demon slayers, Hashira being the busiest of all. Shinobu would not admit it, but there were often times she wondered how (Y/n) was doing, wondered if she should send a letter, but she never knew what to write, so she didn’t.
(Y/n) almost looked like she was gearing up to say something, but then seemed to change her mind at the last second, shaking her head.
“It’s nothing.” She finally shrugged.
“It doesn’t seem that way.” Shinobu scrutinized (Y/n)’s posture and expression in an attempt to decide what may have been going through her mind. “Usually you have no problem speaking your mind. A rather annoying habit of yours, actually.”
“Hypocrite.” (Y/n)’s lips turned upward in a small, almost nervous smile as she watched the sun sink below the distant mountains. “But maybe I’ll tell you after the mission.”
Shinobu kept her eyes to the side of (Y/n)’s head a few beats longer before facing forward again.
“I’ll hold you to it.”
***
They disposed of quite a few demons that night and the added challenge of it being a new moon left the forest extremely dark. Fortunately, that did little to hamper the progress the two Hashira were making, but as dawn approached and the longer reprieves between battles, they began to let their guard down.
“I believe we may be done here.” Shinobu said after taking another lap around the woods that surrounded the village and finding nothing.
“There’s no way.” (Y/n) shook her head. “None of those demons were particularly challenging. I don’t see why so many demon slayers and villagers would have disappeared. We still haven’t found one with a dog-related demon art yet either…”
Shinobu shook her head, “Will you let that theory go already?”
“Nope! I know I’m on to something. I can feel it in my bones.”
“You’ve come to me with broken bones on enough occasions that I doubt that ‘feeling in your bones’ is reliable.”
“Come on, just one more lap, please? Humor me just this once.”
Shinobu bit the inside of her cheek, then sighed quietly. “Fine, one more lap, but only because you said please and I’ve never heard you ask so politely.”
(Y/n) stuck her tongue out at Shinobu again and then started jogging around the path once more. Shinobu shook her head, but followed (Y/n) anyway. They maybe made it about three-fourths through the wide ring they were traveling when (Y/n) stopped so suddenly, Shinobu almost bumped into her.
“Did you hear that?” She whispered, looking at Shinobu over her shoulder.
Before Shinobu could answer, a whining sound sounded from somewhere off of the path and (Y/n) leapt over some brambles to go investigate.
“(Y/n), don’t rush in without a plan.” Shinobu warned, leaping after her with her sword drawn.
“Oh, poor guy…”
“What? What is… it.” Shinobu trailed off when she caught up to see what (Y/n) was crouching over.
Yet another stray, caught up in some brambles. It’s whining and struggling only seeming to make itself more tangled.
“Awww, hang on buddy. I’ll get you out of there.” (Y/n) soothed, getting right in the brambles with the trapped dog.
“(Y/n), be careful.” Shinobu warned, feeling more on edge when she saw the dog growl and snap at (Y/n)’s hands.
“It’s fine. She’s just a little scared.”
It took a little work, but (Y/n) managed to free the dog from the brambles, getting a little scratched up herself in the process.
“Shinobu, will you check her out? Make sure she’s okay?”
“I’m not a veterinarian.”
“Oh come on, how different is it really?”
“Quite. Different.”
“Shinobu.” (Y/n) glared at her.
“Fine, fine.”
But before Shinobu could join (Y/n) beside the dog, it suddenly bolted, tail between its legs.
“Well, it must be perfectly fine to be able to run off like that.” Shinobu said, brushing off her hands on her pants even though she had not gotten the chance to touch the dog.
“Maybe physically fine, but that dog seemed terrified.” (Y/n) stood up and brushed herself off, looking deeper into the forest. “I’m gonna go further, see if I find something.”
She hopped over the bramble bushes and jogged deeper into the forest. Shinobu suppressed the urge to groan and followed her.
“Shinobu, look at this.” (Y/n) was crouched to the ground, a hakamashita and complementary hakama draped over her arms. “It’s like what they said in the village, random clothes in the woods. I wonder if these were left here recently.”
“They don’t appear to have been worn down by the elements. I would wager they haven’t been left for very long at all.” Shinobu deduced.
“You’re correct. I can assure you that bundle is quite fresh.”
(Y/n) and Shinobu whipped their heads around, finding a bright beam of red light being directed at the both of them.
“You’ll both make such cute little doggies~”
“Shinobu, move!”
Before Shinobu could react, (Y/n) was already pushing her out of the way, taking the full blast of the beam and collapsing onto the forest floor in front of her. Shinobu got up quickly, narrowly avoiding another beam.
“(Y/n)?” Shinobu cursed under her breath, her fellow Hashira was still laid out on the ground, writing in pain. She couldn’t afford to check on (Y/n)‘s condition at the moment, she needed to take down this demon first and she would be sure to make them suffer just as much as (Y/n) appeared to be.
“Ah! You’re a fast one, aren’t you? And such a scary look in your eyes!” The demon dodged each of Shinobu’s strikes, his tail wagging excitedly, annoyingly, Shinobu would add. “I’m doing you a favor, you’ll be so much happier, so carefree! You should feel honored that I want to give you a more simple life. I devour the humans I find unworthy. You look like you’d make a good dog person.”
“I’m more of a fish person, actually.” Shinobu tried to stab the demon again, but he dodged, back flipping away. “I can’t stand fur.”
“That so? A pity. But don’t you worry, you’ll forget all about your depressing human existence by the full moon and you’ll forget all about your silly little peculiarities.”
Shinobu dodged several more beams, trying to counter when she could, but it was fairly even on both sides. However, Shinobu did have one weapon that never failed her, the sun. If she could stall long enough, keep the demon within this clearing, he would burn to ash and scatter on the wind. Then she could focus on the dozens of people who had been transformed, she could make sure (Y/n) was going to be okay. She better be okay, because Shinobu had quite a few things to say to her after making such a self-sacrificing decision.
Dawn was quickly approaching after they already spent most of the night making rounds. Instead of taking a purely offensive approach, Shinobu began to defend the treeline to make sure the demon couldn’t slip away. The demon seemed to understand her plan and smiled wickedly.
“I’d keep my eye on your partner over there if I were you. The transformation process tends to leave people rather defenseless.”
Shinobu’s head snapped back towards (Y/n) on pure reflex and her grip on her nichirin blade tightened. Another demon was creeping towards the hunched bundle (Y/n) had become, hoping for an easy meal in the last moments before sunrise. Shinobu didn’t have to think twice before rushing in.
“I knew you’d make the right choice!” The dog-tailed demon laughed, springing into the dark woods and quickly out of sight as Shinobu’s blade found home in the much weaker demon’s chest.
The weaker demon spluttered, then stilled, the first beams of sunlight burning the body into nothing while Shinobu fell to her knees beside the lump of cloth that was once her rival, the person who pushed her away and spared her from having to share the same fate. The person who she still had so much left to compete over with, to argue with, to pop in on unexpectedly to torment when they were apart for too long, to tease, to talk, to eventually confess—
Shinobu shook her head and placed her hand on the center of the lump beneath the layers of haori and uniform.
“(Y/n)?” She cautiously called.
The lump beneath her palm stirred, and she pulled back, watching the bundle of fabric rise wiggle, a low growl came from the bundle as what was left beneath it struggled to free itself. Shinobu reached out again to help and another growl sounded as her hands came in contact.
“Calm down, I’m helping.” Shinobu assured, pulling the layers away, until the mid-sized Kishu dog could shake the rest off herself.
‘Oh gods…’ (Y/n) spun around on wobbly, unfamiliar paws, trying to get her bearings, trying not to panic at the new state of her body.
“Are you sincerely chasing your tail right now?” Shinobu asked, making (Y/n) turn to face her with a sharp bark of warning that if translated correctly would probably be the equivalent of ‘shut up’. “Can you still understand me?“
‘Do you really have to ask?’ An almost disbelieving snort left (Y/n)’s muzzle, the intelligent look in her eye being enough to answer Shinobu’s query.
“Okay, at least you have that much going for you. It’s unfortunate, I finally don’t have to listen to the nonsense you’re always spouting, but now I’m stuck with a fluffy-tailed mongrel.”
‘Hey!’ Another indignant bark and a little stomp of (Y/n)’s front paws was the best rebuttal she could give at the moment and Shinobu smirked despite the state of affairs they hand landed themselves in.
“Didn’t quite catch that, apologies.” A growl was the reply this time, and Shinobu chuckled. “Actually, this could be pretty fun. It’s too bad I have a responsibility to at least try to restore you to your former self. It wouldn’t do to have a Hashira who hasn’t the thumbs necessary to wield their sword.”
‘Oh, yeah? I’ll make you eat those words, just you wait!‘ (Y/n) huffed again and dug her snoot beneath her clothes and rustled around a bit, emerging once more with the hilt of her blade clasped firmly between her teeth. ‘Checkmate!’
“Put that down before you hurt yourself.” Shinobu reached out to take the sword, but (Y/n) was not making it easy for her, dragging the blade around Shinobu in several tight circles. “Drop it, mutt.” She ordered, smiling tightly.
‘As if I’d start taking orders from you.’ If dogs could roll their eyes, (Y/n) would have found a way, but a huff of air left her muzzle before she started to trot off towards the village, hilt still in her jaws. ‘This is kinda heavy though, actually…’
“Where do you think you’re going, the mansion is that way.” Shinobu tilted her head in the opposite direction as she gathered the rest of (Y/n)’s belongings.
‘I’m not the only dog-person here that needs a safe place to sleep.’
(Y/n) looked over her shoulder briefly before continuing to trot over to the village, sword dragging against the ground. If her swordsmith could see what she was doing, they’d probably have a heart attack. Shinobu released a long exhale from her nose then followed after her.
It soon became clear to Shinobu what (Y/n) was thinking about when she went back into the village. Slowly, she amassed a small fleet of stray dogs. Shinobu surmised through observation that these dogs must have been human once as well, as (Y/n) seemed to converse with them. Those that were pure stray dogs would, well, act like dogs. Those that seemed to have been human followed (Y/n) throughout the village and helped her locate more unfortunate souls.
Finally, (Y/n) trotted back up to Shinobu with the pack and looked up at her expectantly. Shinobu would have liked to wait on rounding up the civilian and slayer victims until after she had the cure prepared, but it would seem (Y/n) was expecting her to house all of these humans turned canine. She knew it was the right thing to do, some of them had been condemned to the outdoors since the moon had been waning. That didn’t stop Shinobu from dreading this sudden influx of furry patients, however.
“All right,” Shinobu sighed, “Let’s go…” she turned to start walking back home, but she heard (Y/n) grunt beside her, now struggling to continue dragging her sword around. Shinobu smirked. “Done being unreasonable?”
‘Oh, shut it.’ (Y/n) dropped the sword at Shinobu’s feet with a huff and Shinobu knelt down to pick it up, realizing too late how slimy the hilt was. Her whole body shivered with disgust and (Y/n) barked a laugh before scampering forward to take the lead.
“Someone is going to be sleeping in the garden shed tonight.” Shinobu smiled threateningly, wiping her hand off on (Y/n)’s haori still bundled within her arms.
***
Shinobu didn’t really make (Y/n) sleep in the shed, in fact, they ended up spending countless hours together in the lab. Shinobu had not expected finding a cure to be so difficult. She expected to have to adjust the formula she came up with for the slayers on Natagumo Mountain, but no matter how many time she recalculated, the drug just would not take effect.
As they days stretched on, she only got more anxious, though she did her best not to let it show. If what the demon said was true, they were running out of time before the transformation was permanent. Some of the victims who had been transformed earlier in the month sometimes got confused, more canine than human in behavior. Looking up at the night sky, a waxing gibbous hung high over Shinobu’s head, mocking her. In less than a week, the full moon would arrive, and the human minds trapped within their canine vessels would be lost.
There were very few things that made Shinobu angrier than a problem that she could not solve on her own. Medicine, science, that was her bread and butter. She knew logically that she wasn’t infallible, she couldn’t solve every problem, but that didn’t make it any less aggravating.
She dropped her head in her hands and rubbed her temples, then pressed the palms of her hands into her eyes. She had come out onto the engawa after another failed attempt to reverse the demon art’s effects on (Y/n) after hours of work. Now that she was outside, the moon only reminded her of how little time remained. She could just about scream.
But then a wet snoot swiped against her ear, making her cringe and bat away her visitor.
“(Y/n), that’s foul.” Shinobu glared at the Hashira turned hound now sitting beside her.
‘If you really want to be justifiably horrified, I could have licked you instead.’ (Y/n) chuffed at Shinobu’s displeasure then looked at her expectantly. Shinobu felt something uncomfortably heavy in her chest whilst looking at her.
“I suppose this is your way of telling me my break is over?” She tried to sound annoyed, but her tone sounded more pathetic to her own ears.
(Y/n) snorted and shook her head. ‘I hate that boring-ass lab’.
“Well, I must get back to the drawing board anyway.” Shinobu stood and turned to walk back inside, but a tugging on her haori made her pause. She turned around to reprimand (Y/n) but she had already leapt off of the engawa, circling a patch of dirt as if wanting Shinobu to come closer. Shinobu decided to humor her and hopped down to the ground herself, watching (Y/n) pick up a stick between her teeth.
“You don’t want me to throw that for you, do you?” Shinobu asked, half-joking, half worried that (Y/n) was starting to lose herself as well, but thankfully (Y/n) gave her an incredulous glare before proceeding to use the stick to sloppily draw in the dirt.
Shinobu scrutinized the crudely drawn blob, trying her best to decipher its meaning. “(Y/n), when you retire, art may not be a good hobby for you.”
‘You try drawing without hands!’ (Y/n) growled and stomped her paw against the dirt and then tried to make her doodle look more clear and somehow, Shinobu thought it was reminiscent of a certain demon that she very much wanted to pump full of poison.
“The dog demon? What about him?”
‘We go find him and fuck him up!’ (Y/n) mimicked searching and sniffing around, sneaking up on her messy drawing and then pouncing and digging at it with a growl until there was nothing left. She then looked up at Shinobu expectantly.
“You want to destroy him. As do I, but he could be anywhere by now. I can’t imagine he stuck around the village after all of that.” Shinobu knelt down in front of (Y/n). “You don’t need to worry, I’m not going to rest until I have the proper formula. You will be human again, I promise.”
‘Come on, Kochou. This is our best shot. You must know that by now.’ (Y/n) whined and shook her head. She pounced on the disturbed dirt again, looking up at Shinobu with a fire of determination in her eyes.
“We’re running out of time…” Shinobu tried her best to keep her voice even. “We can’t go out on some wild goose chase. Reworking the formula is the only thing we can do.”
A sharp bark left (Y/n), startling Shinobu, ‘We can do this! Since when have you ever been known to shy away when things get tough?’ She pounced on the dirt again and then sprinted to the mansion fence before turning back to Shinobu and barking again. ‘Let’s go, Kochou! I’d leave you behind, but in this state, I could really use the backup.’
Shinobu’s hands tightened into fists beneath the sleeves of her haori. “Stubborn fool.” She mumbled under her breath. She briefly looked behind her in the direction of the the lab, an uncertain feeling burying itself in her brain in a place where she just couldn’t shake it loose. Then she looked back to (Y/n), fur almost glowing under the moon. Even in this form, Shinobu could see the same steadfast determination that she had for every obstacle in front of her.
Shinobu felt a pulse of annoyance and anger. (Y/n) was the one who was about to lose everything, and here she was stalling and feeling sorry for herself. (Y/n) deserved to make the final call and Shinobu would do all she could to help her. And in the end, if it came to it, Shinobu would take care of that damn dog until her last breath. She would give her the best life a mutt could ever hope for. But now was not the time to start planning for that future outcome. She’d much rather have (Y/n) telling her stupid jokes, maybe finally work up the courage to hold her hand, grin when (Y/n) would get flustered by the sudden action and tease her relentlessly over getting so nervous from a simple hand hold. That’s what Shinobu wanted, and she’d be damned if she let that opportunity slip away from her for the last time.
“Alright then,” Shinobu took a calming breath, fingers grazing over the hilt of her blade, “We have less than a week to find him. Let’s hope that nose of yours can sniff out that vermin quickly.”
‘That’s what I’m talking about!’ (Y/n) barked excitedly, running circles around Shinobu once she had opened the gate. ‘Let’s get the bastard!’
***
They began in the village where everything went wrong and from there, (Y/n) picked up a scent. It was faint, but it was a start. For days (Y/n) and Shinobu were on the road, following the scent. Resting was a little tricky, Wisteria Houses weren’t always available and regular civilian lodging usually didn’t allow animals and (Y/n) was too big to smuggle in, so they would find places to sleep outside during the day. Sometimes Shinobu would fall asleep with her head on (Y/n)’s side, waking up disoriented and grossed out by the fur clinging to her clothes and hair while (Y/n) made the closest noise she could to a snicker and wagged her tail.
Shinobu would glare at her and chuck the nearest stick she could find into the woods, smirking when (Y/n) couldn’t help but go get it and bring it back to her with a strange mix between resentment and hopefulness that Shinobu would throw it again. After a couple more tosses, Shinobu would finally relent, satisfied that she had gotten her revenge.
They would then continue on, the scent getting stronger the further they traveled until finally on the last day, (Y/n) found herself surrounded by the scent. The demon’s new stomping grounds.
‘This is it!’ She barked and bounced back and forth, alerting Shinobu with her little dance.
“Is this it?” Shinobu felt hope rise within her as she took in the sea beyond the cliff they had found themselves near. Somewhere within this jagged landscape, the demon was laying low until sunset. Tonight, on the last possible night, Shinobu would end that demon and hear (Y/n)’s voice once more, to see her smile. Everything will be back to the way it was supposed to be.
Easier said than done.
When night fell, the demon wasn’t hard to find, they just needed to follow the scent and the trail of clumsy-looking dogs left in his wake. He wasn’t the same, however. After their last encounter about fifteen days ago, he had been devouring more humans than he had been transforming. He had anticipated the occurrence of this reunion and did his best to prepare for this moment. It was only by the carelessness of one of his demon companions that he managed to escape dawn’s first light.
“We meet again!” He said with a false chipper tone, scratching behind the ears of a dog struggling and whining against his hold. “Have you come to join your friend so you can be carefree and frolic together for the rest of your days?”
“No, not quite.” Shinobu smiled tightly, her thumb slowly dragging the first inch of her blade out of its sheath.
The demon frowned, his tail unmoving, “I didn’t think so. So unfortunate that you would rather fight against pure happiness!” He released the dog, who promptly scrambled away and aimed a beam of swirling red power at Shinobu.
Shinobu dodged the beam easily, fully prepared for the demon’s speed this time around. (Y/n) barked, sprinting through the woods to try to keep up with the battle, even though Shinobu had told her to stay back before the battle had even begun. As if (Y/n) was going to leave her without support, even if she was in the form of a dog.
The battle went on most of the night, slowly chipping away at Shinobu’s stamina and both her and the demon’s patience.
“Why won’t you just hold still!” He growled. “It’ll only take a minute! You’ll be so much happier! Would you really rather die? Leave your friend to wander through this world alone?”
“The only one who is going to die tonight, is you.” Shinobu swore, her sword clanking and scraping against the demon’s claws, trying to nick his skin just even once.
There was an orange glow bleeding into the horizon, dawn was approaching, highlighting the churning ocean below. Shinobu was not going to let him get away this time. She couldn’t. Even when she found herself dangerously close to the cliff’s edge, she did not waiver. Not even when her wrists had been trapped in the demon’s hands after a failed strike, even when the demon grinned wickedly at her, pushing her towards the edge of the cliff, the fire in her eyes did not leave her.
Guessing the demon’s intent, she dropped her sword and and grabbed the demon’s clothes. If she was going over the edge, so was he. The sun would rise as they fell, the demon would turn to dust before they hit the water. What happened after… well, as long as (Y/n) and the others were back to normal, then Shinobu thought the sacrifice would be worth it.
‘I don’t think so!’ With a mighty growl, (Y/n) launched into the fray, clamping sharp teeth into the back of the demon’s calf, ripping and tearing at the muscle, making the demon shout and push Shinobu to the ground to attempt to rip (Y/n) away from his leg, he kicked and shoved and punched, but (Y/n) kept a firm grip on the demon, until the cliff’s edge crumbled away beneath them.
“No!” Shinobu reached over the ledge in an attempt to grab (Y/n), but it was already too late, she watched in horror as the demon burned to ash and scattered in the wind, while (Y/n) disappeared in the surf.
(Y/n) kept her eyes to the sky as long as she could, watching Shinobu become nothing more than a blot of color on the cliff high above. A whine clawed out of her throat. Was this really it? ‘I should have told her how I really felt.’
Everything went black before she even hit the water.
Shinobu scaled down the cliff as fast as she could, not ready to accept the reality of what she saw. (Y/n) was too stubborn, too annoyingly resilient. There was no way she was going to lose her. Not when she had so much she wanted to tell her.
“(Y/n)!” She yelled over the sound of waves crashing over the rocky shore. “(Y/n), where are you?”
Finally, something caught her eye in the surf, a bundle of fur floating up and down in the waves. Shinobu quickly waded out to her knees, stumbling on the slippery rocks beneath her feet. She wrapped her arms around the motionless lump and dragged it back to shore, collapsing right on the edge where the waves would still lap at her feet as she laid on the sandy rocks, her face buried in the wet, matted fur of one of the most special people in her life.
“Why did you have to do that, you idiot?” Shinobu hissed, breaths coming quick and shallow. “You told me once that I’d never be able to be rid of you. You swore…”
Shinobu’s eyes stung with sea salt and tears, shutting them tightly as she hugged (Y/n) closer. “There’s so much I didn’t get to tell you, so much I wanted to hear from you,” Her voice cracked, “Something was wrong, why didn’t you just tell me what was on your mind that day? Why didn’t I pry further? You promised you’d tell me, so keep your damn promise and wake up!”
As she weeped, she failed to notice the fur melt away from between her clenched fists, how the body expanded and morphed beneath her tear-stained face. Only after the body beneath her blinked awake and rose a hand to clutch Shinobu’s haori, did her eyes open, harboring a manic look within.
(Y/n) managed a tired grin though she looked like she nearly drowned. With as much strength as she could muster, she brought her hand to Shinobu’s cheek, clumsily brushing her chilled and clammy fingers against the tear-stained skin.
“H-hey…” Her vocal chords didn’t feel exactly right yet, but it was music to Shinobu’s ears. She brought her own hand up, keeping (Y/n)’s hand pressed to her cheek.
“You…” a watery chuckle escaped her lips, “you damn fool, why did you do that?”
“What?” (Y/n) spoke hoarsely, “And let you have all the glory? I don’t think so. I always feel like I’m trying to catch up to you as it stands. Any opportunity I can find to show you I’m just as good as you is one I can’t pass up on.”
“And what an ineffective way to show it. You could have not been less graceful if you tried.”
“Hey!” (Y/n) coughed and Shinobu quickly helped her sit up, wrapping her shivering body in her haori and pulling (Y/n)’s head to her chest, and hugging her close in an attempt to give her some warmth.
“Don’t get so excited, you’re in bad shape. In fact, just focus on breathing, alright? That’s all I want from you right now.”
“But there’s something I gotta say first.”
“It can wait.”
“It’s been held off long enough.” She insisted. “I made a promise and I don’t want to wait another minute to tell you so…” She swallowed thickly and cleared her throat, “All the years we spent brawling, competing, goading… I wouldn’t trade any of that for anything. You’re presence has always been my safety blanket, my constant. You’re the most important person in my life and I love you.” (Y/n) sighed, the tail-end of the breath coming out as a chuckle. “Can’t believe how easy that was to finally say—“
Shinobu squeezed (Y/n)’s cheeks between the fingers of one hand with such force that (Y/n) could feel Shinobu’s fingers against her teeth, the muscle and skin of her cheeks being the thin barrier between them. Suddenly her back was against the rocky sand again, Shinobu hovering over her almost menacingly.
“Oh you love me, do you Miss Gallantry? What a relief to hear, truly.” And truthfully, Shinobu was relieved, elated even, but the aura she was emitting shook (Y/n) to her very core. “The one to save me not once, but twice is also the first to say ‘I love you’? Are you trying to outdo me, (Y/n)?”
“I-it’s not a competition!” (Y/n) sputtered, unable to look away from Shinobu’s intense stare as the grip on her face persisted.
“Everything has always been a competition of sorts between us, (Y/n),” Shinobu’s face drew closer, “and I’m not going to let you leave me behind. My comeback starts now.”
Shinobu’s lips met hers in a searing, salty kiss, and a rather thorough one at that. When she pulled away, they were both breathing heavily.
“I love you more.” Shinobu smugly declared. “Even though you currently smell like wet dog.”
“I do not!”
“Oh, you definitely do. It’s rather disturbing. I hope it’s not permanent.”
“You don’t exactly smell like flowers right now either!” (Y/n) pouted, wrapping her arms around Shinobu so she could bring her closer and rub her wet, tangled hair against Shinobu’s clothes, making Shinobu gasp and try to push her away.
They bickered, bantered, laughed and kissed, laying side by side on the ocean shore as the sun creeped further into the sky, bathing them in a warm glow. After a few days rest at the nearest Wisteria House, the pair finally returned to the Butterfly Mansion, finding all manner of gifts left at the mansion gate.
As Aoi would later explain, they were gifts of gratitude from the villagers once affected by the troublesome spell. The girls were surprised to learn that the two Hashira were finally together. Not so much surprised by the fact that they enjoyed each other’s company that much, but surprised that they finally admitted it out loud to each other.
But what maybe surprised the Butterfly Mansion residents more than the admission of love was how the competitions never subsided. It became a lot more lively around the mansion, especially if Tanjirou and the gang were hanging around. Seeing the genuine smile light up Shinobu’s face whenever (Y/n) was with her was contagious.
“Here girl, we’re going to be late. I’m not going to let you sabotage my perfect date.” Shinobu whistled, patting her thighs as (Y/n) slipped on her shoes.
“Don’t talk to me like a dog!” She couldn’t stop the smirk that worked its way into her lips as she joined Shinobu at her side. “Besides, why would I stall? It’s going to be impossible for you to one up the last outing I planned.”
Shinobu lightly ran her fingers down the side of (Y/n)’s face, smiling when she caught wind of a couple butterflies fluttering in (Y/n)’s stomach at the gentle touch. “I wouldn’t count me out just yet.”

Hey how about the Hashira meeting Demon reader who has the same personality and abilities as Kiriko from Overwatch 2. If you don’t know who she is, then I’ll gladly explain. Kiriko is a ninja healer who uses kunai and is aided by a kitsune spirit. She can create protection suzu as well as healing ofuda to her allies. Kiriko is cheeky and full of life with a cheek styled humor and is not afraid of teasing others despite how intimidating they might be. She has youthful energy and intelligence making her extremely personable. If anyone sass or disrespects her, she makes a comeback. Like the fox spirit, she is a trickster but while being a lighthearted trickster, she has a strong moral compass and believes in taking care of those around her and is a natural leader. Also, she has a sweet tooth.
◡̈⋆ʜᴇʟʟᴏ(●’◡’●)ノ you did a great job explaining cause I had no idea who that is.

Hello there! If you accept requests I was wondering if maybe you could write some headcanons of the hashiras seeing reader (Who's older and also a hashira) as an older sibling figure? Only if you want to ofc and if it's possible all of them, if not that's alright! Have a nice day / night! ^^
My Saving Grace
Author's Note: I finally have the will to post this. I tried, I really tried because I'm not sure how to write this since I prefer oneshots. I don't see the characters as a sibling figure too so it was really difficult to grant this. But since it was the first request I received, I tried to write this. I love scenarios and this made me really know how to write one. Sorry for taking too long and sorry for not managing to get every hashira included but I hope I did it correctly. Hope you enjoy it!!
Mentions of death, abuse, and trauma.
Characters: Sanemi, Obanai, Giyu
_____________________________
On the torture room, the smell of blood is staining the nose of the Young Master of the Ubuyashiki Family the moment he enter the room.
Within the four walls of the room, his eyes laid on the table that was placed in the middle of the room as a figure of a woman soaking from her own blood was the one thing that greeted him.
He felt his wife let go of his hand as he slowly walked inside the room. The people inside left to give them the private time he requested for.
The moment the door closed, he started to walk closer to the woman he got to learn about.
"Fuyutsiki Y/n, can you hear me?" His gentle voice rang across the room yet silence was the only thing that responded to him.
He sat on the stool that was close to her as he held his focus on the eyes of the woman who was just staring at the ceiling above them.
"Do you still have the heart to listen for what I'm about to request you with?" He continued noticing she won't bother responding with the torture still felt by her body.
"Do you want to take your life back?" That question finally manages to get a slight movement from the woman as she blinks her eyes from what she heard.
"Even if I did..." It was barely heard with how she tried to let those words out.
It was still painful
"What can I possibly do?" It ends up as a whisper that made Kagaya put his hand above hers to offer his sincere comfort to the woman.
"You can protect the people who suffer the same way you did. Under my wing, killing wouldn't be a sin"
A tear fell from the woman's eyes when those words were stated. Somehow, the slight heavy feeling on her chest lightened even just a little bit.
It became more bearable with the guilt she is now experiencing.
"I just want to be free. But no one wants to save me" she stuttered out as more tears followed that mix with the blood trailing down from her head.
"Now that I freed myself from that man, why do they need to punish me for it?", She started to question her fate as the young man silently listened to her pain.
"I became a sinner because I want to be happy"
Kagaya slightly grip her hand to remind her he is still here with her. Sharing the pain she is going through.
"Another chance. There is a path you can take without going against your morals but at the same time where you can heal" he exclaimed that made the woman glance at him.
"I can give you that"
That was the time Y/n chose the path Kagaya offered her.
And that is to become a Demon Slayer...
Known as the Winter Hashira, in three years, she managed to climb the ranks of the corps without any sight of injury ever being seen on her.
If anyone were able to describe her, a woman who moves with elegance and gentleness that became her advantage on the battlefield.
She kills her target without blood even staining her body.
A woman who finished her job beautifully.
Those were the words of the staff that can usually be hear when someone ask about the quiet woman who always spend her time in a garden.
She looks untouchable like a noble lady. So the others never bother getting along with her.
Yet without a doubt, she maintained her Hashira position compared to the Hashiras where the kids (Future Hashiras) were training under.
It made them doubt her abilities. A woman who seems to have no care about the world.
Until...
In the middle of daylight, after a Hashira meeting. A woman's hand is seen gripping her fellow Hashira's neck.
"Y/n-san! Please calm down" Kanae's voice can be heard on the Estate as the kids (Some Future Hashiras), were silently watching from the window of the Butterfly Mansion.
The man let out a gasp when the hands of the Winter Hashira tighten, blocking his airway.
"Let me make it clear to you about your role. You were chosen to become an example, not a corrupt person" the voice of a woman that is laced with undeniable hatred can be heard as Kanae can't help but close her mouth.
"You have no rights to hurt the kids as if they were your stress reliever. Especially if no mistake was made" the woman let go of the man as they fell on the floor, gasping.
"If you can't control yourself, then you shouldn't be a Hashira" the anger of the woman was clearly seen from how her eyes seem to lighten up like she can kill the person in front of her in a second.
"Y/n-san, you're breaking a rule-"
"The rules don't dictate me. It's my job to correct mistakes, especially entitled people like you." She calmly stated as she wiped her hands with her handkerchief, acting like her blood was not boiling from anger a while ago.
"Don't test me"
That moment changed the perspective of the kids who she defended.
____________________________
Sanemi:
He was fifteen when it all started
Anger...
That was all I felt as I held my friend's deceased body. While the demon's body slowly withered from my vision.
I failed to protect the person who gave a chance on the friendship I never thought would bloom.
I lost another person against the demons.
The stinging pain in my chest was ignored as my vision turn red that i ddin't notice I started to have a rampage and killed every demon I encountered without any mercy.
That when I encountered another lower moon, I finally lost the strength to keep going on as I fell to the ground along with Masachika's body.
I'm Tired...
Tired of being the defender, tired of forcing myself to keep going for the people I failed to save.
Tired of holding on to the hatred I held for the demons.
Where is the peace I first wanted. Will all of that be unreachable to reach?
I didn't have the time to see the head of the lower rank demon decapitate before the silhoutte of the well-known hashira stood in front of me.
"What are you doing?" I utter as her blank gaze look down on me.
Somehow in that little time, I wish to just die.
But someone like her prevents that wish of mine from being granted.
"I'm doing what I promised to the world" she answered my question where the answer was already serve.
I felt myself getting pulled up from the ground that made me tiredly sat up as she crouch in front of me.
"This is one of the challenges you need to get passed through" her presence made me almost didn't realize the help that finally arrive as my friend's body was taken away from me.
I felt the anger that made me numb, set free again as it surround the heart that almost stop beating.
"It's not the end of the world, Sanemi. You can't give up yet"
Her words made me scoff as I finally had the courage to gaze on her own orbs.
"What am I even fighting for?"
It was a question that I should have the answer. But now the grief made my mind a mess that is starting to make me confused.
But one thing I'm sure of was I'm really tired.
"What would I benefit from here?"
I sacrifice so many things yet I don't know what I would receive in the end.
"Is fighting really worth it?"
"Yes" she didn't hesitate, not even a bit from her answer as her firm gaze never left mine.
"Make that anger, that pain your weapon. So you would achieve the very first reason why you decided to put your life in line to protect the others." Her grip on my arm started to loosen as she completely kneel to be on the same level as me.
"You want peace. Not only for yourself but also for the world we live in. You want justice, for yourself and for the people who lost their life on these battle." Her words started to enter my mind as my stiff body softened a little and the burning anger, started to slowly rest in my chest.
"Sanemi, there's a lot of reasons to keep fighting. And one of those is being the savior of many" her gaze slowly turned less icy as she put her words in my head.
Dictated every word, and engrave it to my mind. So the confusion that the pain gave me, can be cleared and answered like I needed.
"The world is not forcing you to keep going. But you can rest so you can continue fighting. Let me be your aid in this time you need someone" she put her hand on her chest as a declaration.
"Then after this, you can grant the dream you wanted for the old you and for the people who you lost along the way"
"As someone who keeps going on this path, let me look after you. Let me stay beside you. As your guide, and as your teacher"
I felt my chest slightly warm up when her words made me feel that I was finally being protected instead of always being the protector.
Someone is finally looking after me like how it was supposed to be.
I finally found someone I thought I didn't need.
Obanai:
He was thirteen
"Little one, come over here" I heard her gentle voice towards my direction as I didn't raise my head to look at her. I tightly grip on the clothes I was holding as Rengoku-san gave me a slight push like it was my cue to go near her as she asked.
With trembling hands, I approached the woman and became wary of the moment I saw how she treated her fellow hashira.
But I unknowingly admire her for standing up for me. Due to the trauma I felt, I still can't help my body to stop trembling when a person gets angry at me.
Only her, who stood up for me.
I slightly flinch when I feel her cold hand touch my warm ones before she gently pulls me closer to her.
She raised the sleeves that were hiding my arms and saw some slight bruises that formed from being beaten by a stick.
"Does it hurt?" Her gentle voice manages to calm my nerves as she rubbed circles on it that gave me the strength to look at her and saw her eyes already staring at my own.
"From now on, you would be under my care so don't worry" she lifted a small smile before caressing my cheeks as I nod, trying to stop myself from crying.
"There, there" she soothes me down when she senses I'm near on breaking down as she sat me on the bed before taking the bottle of cream from the side table.
"We both know you can do it for your dreams, alright?" She exclaimed before she applied the cream on my bruises.
"Y/n-san" I called for her in a shaky voice as she hum and raised her head to look at me.
"Can I cover the lower part of my face?" I asked in almost a hush tone and I saw how her eyes sadly gaze on the scar that was clearly seen on my face.
Sensing her attention was on it, a tear fell on my eyes because of fear and shame.
I heard her close the bottle before I felt her hand behind my head as she brought my head to her chest so I could free my tears that I badly wanted to hide from the world.
"If hiding your insecurities can make you stronger. We can hide those" I heard her as I can't help but seek for her warm more.
After being alone on the cold dungeon on my own family's home. I finally heard the encouragement and felt the warmth I was seeking for.
Giyu:
He was fifteen
Within in the shadows of the corporation, only her who look for my figure. Someone who never wanted to be left alone.
The quiet woman who I always spend my time with when I have no one beside me.
I thought we were only acquainted until she started to remind me of my deceased sister.
Until her actions slowly started to comfort me.
I felt someone hold the wooden sword that I keep swinging towards the trunk of the tree as I forcefully let out my breath while trying to stop my trembling hand.
Another nightmare.
The same nightmare that prevent me from moving forward without any guilt or negative outlook in life that those important people in my life want me to think about.
It never fail to remind me how useless I was in that moment. And right now, I felt like I'm still chained to that trauma.
"Giyu" I heard her call for my name first that I snap from my thoughts but my grip on the wooden handle didn't falter.
"Go easy on yourself. Don't degrade the strength you have within"
Her monotone voice didn't help me that I almost want to leave until her next words made me want to stay.
"Because you're just a kid" I lifted my head in a speed of light and my teary eyes met her warm ones.
"As someone who watch you from the sidelines, you're better than what you always thought of" her tone started to soften as she immediately took the sword the moment I began to let go.
"So take a rest"
I finally heard the assurance I always tell myself. The words I want to use as a barrier to my own nightmare.
I was better than I know.
And hearing that from her became my comfort in those silent fights on my own mind.
I finally have someone who would be my light on this dark night

Let Me Go...
Tumblr media
Kyojuro Rengoku x reader
Mythology AU!
~You have made it to the Underworld to get your Fiancé back, but will he follow you up the steps and into the light?
This is my submission for @tsukkismoonlight What Could Have Been Collab.
Thanks for hosting Max!
This fic is inspired by the Greek Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, but I wouldn't call it a retelling, so there are a few differences.
Warnings: Lots of talk about death, extreme grieving, unhealthy mindsets, pretty much everything that comes with the og myth
Tagging: @tokyometronetwork
The obsidian floors feel cold against your knees as you stare up at the Lord and Lady of the Underworld. They sit side by side on their thrones, wearing robes stitched from the night sky itself. Their faces are partially lit by the light of human souls.
"Please," you plead, "Lord Kagaya, Lady Amane. I beg of you; I have done much to make it here. Please let me retrieve the man known as Kyojuro Rengoku~" you start to say more only to be silenced by the slow raising of the Lord's pale hand.
"My Child," the God of Death says, staring down at you with a pale gaze full of kindness. "You have done well to make it so far, but what makes this one worthy to receive the gift of a second life?"
"There are many who attempt the journey down here in hopes of bringing someone back." The Queen says softly, placing her hand atop her husband's. Her lavender gaze seems to stare into the depths of your soul, "There is a beauty that accompanies death the living do not yet understand."
You clench your fists, the sharp pain of your nails sticking into your flesh makes you feel more awake. It's true what they say; the living are not meant to be in the Underworld. Already you feel your body weakening. After everything you did to get down here, the trials, the bargains. You only hope that you'll be able to persuade them to let you bring Kyojuro back to the surface.
"There is beauty in life too." You respond. Your voice much stronger than you had intended it to be.
"And what does this man, this mortal, have to do with the beauty of life?" Kagaya says, leaning forward, interest piqued by your words
"Everything," you say, taking a step towards the throne determinedly, "without him, life is endless, its colors dull, and music silent. When the sun touches my skin, I feel a chill. Everything that I thought was beautiful before he died merely exists."
"The way you speak of the world saddens me," pearly tears rim the Lord of the Underworld's eyes at your words. "If this man means that much to you, I suppose I will give you a chance to bring him back."
Your heart feels tight in your chest "do you mean it? Will he be able to come back?"
"If you follow our directions, then your Kyojuro will be able to live as he once had." The Queen says, her features stone, but her eyes contain the same kindness as her husband. "Do you wish to guide your lover back to the surface?"
You nod vigorously. "More than anything."
"Then listen well because you will only receive one chance to bring back your beloved." the King says; the ground begins to rumble around you until a gateway appears in the castle walls. Stepping closer to the stairs, you see that they seem to go all the way up to the surface. "Follow these steps with your beloved until you reach the surface, but do not look behind you, or his soul will be trapped down here forever."
The instructions sound simple, too simple.
Tales of the god's trickery run through your mind, and you begin to doubt the Deities before you. "How will I know he is following me if I cannot see him?" you ask, raising a brow.
The goddess only chuckles, placing her pale hand in front of her lips. "It seems easy, doesn't it? As a sign of our goodwill, You shall be able to hold his hand and speak with him as you climb."
"It's alright to be apprehensive, My child." Kagaya soothes, "But you have been given an extremely rare opportunity; your body cannot withstand the power of the Underworld much longer. Go, and you will have proof your Kyojuro is behind you."
The sincerity of their gazes and the tiredness that wears down your psyche makes you inclined to believe them. "Thank you, your excellencies." you breathe, feeling the victorious drumming of your heart in your chest. "You have given me my heart back."
The Lord smiles softly at your words, but there is something sullen written on his face. "Remember, keep your eyes forward, and do not look back for any reason. If you do, your love will return to this place and shall never walk amongst the living again."
You nod and, with shaky legs, make your way to the steps praying to something ever greater than the gods that you are not being tricked.
The steps look to be carved from the earth itself, the walls coated with sand and stone. The moment you take that first step, you feel the weight of the Underworld detach from your body, you don't sense his presence right away, but heeding the god's warning, you do not look back.
You climb a few more steps until you hear the soft falling of feet on the ground behind you.
You hear the soft shuffling of footsteps.
"Kyojuro?" your breath catches in your throat as you listen to the familiar footfalls., "Is that you behind me?"
A voice clears its throat behind you, "It's me, Fireball, I promise." The voice is small and a bit raspy from lack of use, but it's him.
It's Kyojuro.
The sound of his voice makes your knees give out on the steps. Your eyes fill with tears; you've never wanted to turn around more in your life.
Before you can fall, his two hands come to sturdy your shoulders, keeping you upright. "Easy there, you're all right." his gentle murmurs overpower the feelings of exhaustion, pain, and hunger, and you let out a deep sob from the bottom of your heart.
Your cries echo off of the dirt walls, and you are sure that everyone in the Underworld can hear you, but you don't care. "I want nothing more than to look into your eyes and see that bright smile of yours," you breathe. The muscles on your neck twitch in anticipation, but you shake the tempting thoughts from your head, "But I can't. If I turn around, I'll be losing you all over again."
He grabs your hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. His skin against your own feels familiar, but it's different somehow. The calluses on his hands from years of training and hard labor are gone leaving only smooth skin remaining. "You've never lost me, y/n. I promise you that I feel the flames of your love every second I have been down here."
You can't help but let the tears flow again; the thin streams flow down your cheeks and drip onto the stone steps as you walk. "I've missed you so much; the world doesn't make sense without you in it." your legs shake at the memories of all the days you have spent in heartbreaking solitude. "I'd feel guilty for smiling because you weren't around to see it. At night
"Please don't cry anymore," Kyojuro pleads softly, his voice picking up its usual jovial tone in an attempt to cheer you up. "Once we get out of here, we can go and have a big meal."
You let out a chuckle and feel the taste of salt on your tongue. "Whatever you want, Kyo."
"I'll hold you to it," He laughs. The sound usually puts you at ease, but now there is something else behind his words.
The entrance is only a hundred or so steps away, but something makes you want to slow down. "Is something wrong?"
"I'm sorry I left you," he says softly. "You must've been lonely."
"You died, Kyo," you sniffle, "It's not your fault.
You can feel his frown from behind you. "I've caused you pain, and that is unacceptable."
"It's been hell," you sigh, ignoring the opportunity for a pun, "But..but It's all going to be okay now, right?"
"It will be." His thumb gently runs along the back of your hand. "If following you up here is what will make you happy, then I will come with you."
You came down into the Underworld for him, didn't you?
Why does it sound like he doesn't want to go?
You stop in your tracks and drop your hand from his grip. You can see the green grass just beyond the stairs as you gaze up at the surface. "Kyojuro," you murmur. "Why does it seem like you don't want this." He sighs deeply, and you feel his fingers brush against your hand, but you pull it away, clutching it protectively with your other one.
"Y/n, I love you more than anything else in this world and the next. But I'm at peace. I don't have to fight anymore. I-i'm tired. But if you want me to join you, I will stay by your side.
Your heart feels heavy in your chest, but you understand. Kagaya said there was a beauty in death the living could not understand.
He's already died once
In excruciating pain.
Do you want him to have to go through all that again?
"Can you promise me something?" you ask, staring at the last stone step between you and the future.
He squeezes your hand softly in response. "I'll do anything for you, my Love."
You clench your first into tiny balls. "Promise me that we'll find each other in the next life."
His breath hitches in surprise, and he squeezes your hand, smoothing out the angry marks from your nails., "As if I wouldn't wait for you. Now I need you to promise me something in return."
You squeeze it back hard. "What is it?"
"Promise me you'll take your time." his voice cracks as he raises your hand to his lips, kissing it softly as a way of goodbye. You didn't get to say goodbye last time. "Live your life, find things that make you smile, and by the time we meet again, have many stories to tell me."
"I-i promise," you croak, taking a deep breath. "I just love you so much."
"And I you," he says softly. "I will be waiting for you."
It would be so easy. You are only one step away from the surface. If you were to just pull him up onto the grass, the two of you would be able to pick up from where you left off. A life with Kyojuro, starting a family with him.
The dreams of the past are mocking you, calling to you like a siren's song.
But these dreams must stay in the past.
You grit your teeth and do the unthinkable.
You turn around…
Your eyes land on Kyojuro. His form doesn't look entirely living. It glows with the brilliance of his soul. The last thing you see as the winds pick up and he is pulled back down into the Underworld is his radiant smile.
~
The fluorescent lights of the kitchen shine through your lids and pull you from your slumber. The pages of your husband's lesson plans stick to your face as you lift your head. Peeling a sheet off of your face, you wonder if you drooled on them.
"Did I wake you?" Your husband laughs, leaning against his spot against the doorway, not looking the least bit guilty.
You smile and get up from your seat. Your neck is a bit sore from sleeping over the kitchen table. "Just a little bit," you say, kissing him on the cheek.
"You got some lines there," he says, gently tracing the little indent from the textbook out from your cheek. "Did my lesson plans put you to sleep?"
You shake your head and wince at the stiff feeling on your neck. "No, I was just tired, but I guess your Greek Myths Textbook isn't the best pillow." you tease, glancing back at the stack.
He laughs heartily, a fire glowing in his orbs. "I'll have to tell that to my students,"
"As if they ever could fall asleep in your class," you chuckle, thinking about a group of high schoolers trying and failing to doze off to Kyojuro's loud lectures.
His red iris scans your face curiously. "Were you dreaming about something, I swore I heard you talking in your sleep."
You furrow your brows in concentration before looking up at his handsome face, "I think so, but I can't seem to remember it. It was strange, though. It felt like more than just a dream."

UBUYASHIKI X F.READER
Tumblr media
Ubuyashiki is watching the beautiful front garden as his feet touch the wooden floor beneath his sole, it's a warm day, the birds are flying, coloring the skies in a romantic bale, the bees praising the flowers, everything in his sight it's so beautiful.
At the same time, the breeze invites the black locks of his, exactly like a wild black panther that walks through the night, to dance to the command of the wind.
He has only the initial symptoms of the disease that he has run in his family for centuries. So he still he can still admire the picture and landscapes around him.
He thought that he saw everything about beauty and horror in this world, but... is it?
He is awaiting the arrival of his future wife from the oficial family's bride who will be presented to him soon. She is from a distant place and belongs to a noble and wealthy family, she was selected especially for him.
He is imagining what she looks like, her face, hair and details like these, and her personality. Still going through his thoughts, behind him, while still keeping his eyes on the fountain of water that falls from his garden and spills out with the filling of the bamboos, he is listening the water drops as the light paint it around with beautiful colors.
"- Master, she's here." He is warned.
He smiles slightly to himself, and going to welcome her, he trades steps calmly towards the fate that has apparently been sealed.
He finally sees her, she has white hair and expressive eyes, but… something was not expected, no definitely not...Kagaya didn't count on her would obviously bringing to fill the needs of a wealthy lady, the chaperone that is YOU.
All he had to do, was accept the deal the family has accepted for generations. But looking away from his future wife figure, he couldn't help but look at you.
Your eyes, oh, your eyes, how can they look like of the most glitter of precious jewels? How is your face different from anything he's seen so far, so unique? Your gracefulness, the way you move, he should be on the lookout for the bride-to-be, but no… his heart took the command now and for the first time Kagaya felt something greater than the purpose of his life for fades away from everything you are.
He was able to speak to his future wife, but he was thinking how to include you on it, as an informal conversation, and persuasively he begins to invoke you for the dialogue. As you answer your name, your voice makes Ubuyashiki shiver, and your name was just the spice that he needs. What are his thoughts? "Of course she would have a adorable name, just like her."
Everything in front of him, north, south, east or west was clouded in his eyes, you are all there is now absorbing everything around. Ubuyashiki has been possessed by your essence.
Skillfully using the wisdom he has, he tells how even close to his abode there are onis attacking people.
The future wife is uncomfortable with these words. And Ubuyashiki's extreme formality towards her, who seems to insist on her rejecting him, he made no effort to be desirable or charming to her eyes. But there are still a few days left before you and your mistress must depart. But... Kagaya has other plans for you. As he said to himself, what if I wrote my own fate? Make my own destiny? In one of the moments when Ubuyashiki's "future" wife is resting sleeping in some place away, so you can take a rest and now you are sitting on the amazing gardem, admiring the landscape that it's just breathtaking.
And for Kagaya who is at the same time staring at you, realizes, you are all that was missing in all this beauty , like the most exquisite flower. You need made part of it.
For a moment when you feel that you are being watched, you turn to the direction that your instincts calls you. And watching it, you can see, shining eyes and lips smiling at the same time to you, as if they know something you don't, but anyway you smile back.
He could totally feel inside of him, you ripped him to the bones, he is on his knees begging for mercy inside of his chest, the feeling it's just so strong. And he just can't help, he doesn't shy away from looking at your whole being and inside you. He has no doubt, you was born to belong to him.
On the last day, the bride decides not to accept be his wife, obviously...well... Kagaya worked hard on it, being subliminally obnoxious about how she "would" have to be the perfect wife, fulfilling duties and all. On purpose he was being nasty. So she could not nurture any affection for him and decides to leave.
While this, you, the escort, mysteriously disappeared! You cannot be found.
The ex future wife is looking for you, but with no success.
Ubuyashiki with a sad look, placing a hand on her shoulder, shakeing his head, as he close his eyes, telling everything by his "sad" behavior.
She covers her mouth in shock, you are death! She got the message, still with a lost look, she leaves in silence and never returns to that dark place.
Watching her leave, Kagaya smiles inside and out, and knows exactly where to go now.
You're in a comfortable room full of everything you would want or not, and you wake up slowly, and your eyes little by little capture the lavender-colored gaze devouring every detail of you.
You look at him confused. And with a weak voice you say. "- I remember drinking something and then I have no memories."
Ubuyashiki's soft voice starts to "explain" to you...
"- Dear y/n as I can see you're surely not used to the drinks from the banquet we made in this region, yesterday, I made sure you could recover away from any disturbance. But y/n, I'm sorry to tell you this, but your master decided to reject me, and also informed me that as you were absent at the time of serving her, she would leave you here. But I don't think it's fair that you, someone so loyal, should be treated in such a way, definitely not."
When you found yourself staring at him, he just give his final blow, Kagaya's light and delicate hands, were already on your face, to comfort you, the feeling was so soft.
He smiled. At this point this same smile, the beautiful eyes in contrast with the beautiful black threads that he possessed, had already snatched your being. And to consummate that all your thoughts were the same as his, gently with the velvet voice he caresses your existence.
"- It seems that both of us we were abandoned. My sweet y/n, I want you to know that I will protect you, unlike others. After all, we have each other now. "
You sit on your bed where, as a result, your bodies approach.
In a sigh you answer. "- Thank you."
He doesn't answer in words, but his hands and arms are now around you, his smell, his touch, his magic on you, took you away. And looking into your eyes, he don't want to wait anymore, you have the power to bring out his most mischievous side. He already broke the hourglass, and by fight against the time, he brings his lips together until they meet.
You let yourself be kissed, Ubuyashiki is hallucinated tasting your lips, oh it's a thousand times tastier that he could ever imagine, you're not even close to knowing what he would be capable of from now on to keep you in his arms, he grab your face as if he never will let go, and he won't. And you... well, you just dive in with him. After all, no strengths exists in your being against him. You are his now...
Glad you didn't know how it ended up in Kagaya Ubuyashiki's tender embrace.
Isn't that right, Ms. Ubuyashiki? You were the chosen one.

‘Oyakata Sama!’
‘Oyakata Sama!’
It was just request, after request, after request.
‘ sigh Seriously what am I going to do with him? He’s so insistent on doing everything himself no matter how much I try to intervene. He always keeps a gentle smile on his face and tells me he’s fine but everyone has their limits. All this stress on him is only going to speed up the effect of the disease.
‘Is there anything we can do to help?!’ Mitsuri yelled out.
‘Yes! We’ll do anything we can to help the Master out’ Rengoku reinforced.
‘Well he’s not going to listen to any voice of reason….But there is one thing you could try..’ She quietly whispered something to the 3 of them.
Kagaya was returning from visiting the graves of the fallen soldiers in battle. He listened to the gentle breeze as he reflected on those who had passed. Everything was quiet and still until…
‘MASTER!!’ A loud voice called out to him. *Ah Rengoku* he thought as he watched him approach.
‘Hello Kyojuro. Were you looking for me?’ He asked with a smile.
‘Yes actually, I was wondering if you wanted to take the day off today.’
‘Ah, as much as I would like to I have a lot of things to take care of today.’ He offered him a small smile.
Rengoku shook his head. ‘Sorry Master, but I can’t  accept no for an answer’
The purple haired man grasped Rengoku’s hands gently. ‘Really Kyojuro, I’m very appreciative of your concerns, but really I’m fine this is expected of me as Head of the Demon Corp so don’t worry.’
‘Looks like we’ll have to do something else then.’
‘We’ll?-‘ But Before Kagaya could say anything else, Misturi and Tengen leaped out of their hiding spots, pouncing on their Master alongside the flame hashira.
‘Misturi, Tengen!? When did you—!!’ He was harshly cut off when he was forced to the ground and  Mitsuri began wiggling her fingers all over his stomach.
‘Ahehehe…. Wahahit what are you doing!’
‘Haha! Lady Amane was right, you really are ticklish!’ Tengen cackled, joining in on the sides of his neck fluttering his fingers against the skin softly.
‘Ahehehehe!’ The tingly sensation made him scrunch up and lean his head to one side to block the tickles, but Tengen’s other hand would just move to the other unguarded side and scratch there making him move his head from side to side hopelessly.’Ahahaha! Tehehengen!’
Oyakata-Sama’s laughter was just as kind and gentle as his personality; soft, breathy giggles followed by the occasional wheeze that seemed to flow with the fresh breeze. His face was also scrunched up in an adorable smile as he squirmed. It really felt like his laughter could heal even the darkest of souls.
‘Aahahah! Whahahaaha! Why ahahahare yohohohou tickling me!
‘Even if we can’t convince you to stop working so hard, we can at least make you feel better!’ Rengoku chuckled, scratching the middle of his palm, remembering that Amane had told them it was a pretty bad spot.
‘Plehehehase! Ihihihihi’m Fihihihine, I’hihihim fihihihine Gahahaahaahahahaha!’
‘Ahh! The Master is so adorable when he’s laughing, he should do it more often!’ Misturi squealed.
‘Hmm, what about here-‘ Uzui asked, squeezing and poking at his sides.
‘AH! NohohHoHo! nOhohohohot theHeHere! Ahaha Pfft- GahahaHaAhhah!’ Ubuyashiki  tried to grab and push their hands away, but when pitted against the  hashira especially the stronger ones there was no chance of escape. ‘AhaHAhaHAHA! OkahahaHahay! Ple-aHahahaHaha! Nohohoho mohohohohore!’
Kagaya was now shaking his head while pleading for mercy, tears pricking in the corner of his eyes and a flushed face.
The Chaos trio looked at each other before nodding. They then stopped and waited till the Master had gotten his breath back.
‘We hope we managed to cheer you up Master!’ They all cheered in unison.
‘Yes, I think you did.’ A bright smile remainded plastered on his face.
End
Hope you enjoyed 🤍🫧

Warnings: fem!reader, polyamory, smutty themes, jealousy
Note: This is a request from the prompt list but I'm a dumbass and forgot to post it with the ask.
Tumblr media
It was one of the rare down-times in your life as a demon slayer. To celebrate a rather big victory, Shinobu and Mitsuri decided to throw a small party at the mansion with permission of course. You had been asked by your beloved, Kyojuro, to accompany him. It was fun, to say the least. It was very rare that all of you managed to be in the mansion at the same time unless summoned by Kagaya. Everyone’s very different but big personalities made for some interesting spectacles, including Tengen who had brought all three of his wives to the party.
For some reason, his wives had flocked to you. It was sort of nice to be getting all of this attention. They were so kind to you. They were making a big fuss over the pretty kimono you wore to the party. Suma especially was being so kind to you.
“You’ll make some man so happy,” she says sweetly as she hangs off your shoulder.
“You should get married while you’re still young,” Hina says. “So you can have a lot of fun with your husband.”
You’re blushing like crazy and starting to look around for Kyojuro to give you an escape. Instead, you spot him in the corner speaking with Giyu. Then, you feel a soft hand on your face pulling your attention back to the three wives.
“Wait, you’re not already married are you?” Suma asks, no doubt hoping for a big romantic story of how you have a secret husband.
“N-no,” you answer shyly.
“You aren’t! Life is too short to wait around,” Makio adds.
“Well, that does it,” Hina grabs your hand and starts pulling you towards Tengen. You’re squeaking and trying to get away, looking desperately for Kyojuro.
“Tengen-sama! Tengen-sama! We have a great idea,” the three women speaking in unison start to draw attention.
“What is it, ladies?” Tengen says affectionately.
“This is our new best friend,” Suma says sweetly. “And we think you should marry her too.”
The room falls silent. Somewhere a glass drops, and you don’t have to look to know it was Kyojuro’s. To your surprise, Tengen actually seems to be considering it. He rubs his chin dramatically as he looks you over carefully.
“I have always thought you were pretty cute,” he smirks.
“Isn’t she just precious?” Makio adds.
“Whaddaya say-”
“NO! She says no,” you feel a strong hand grabbing your arm. You’re tugged away from the grip of Tengen’s wives and against the chest of your beloved. “She’s spoken for.”
“You haven’t married her yet,” Tengen comments. “I was ready to marry her right away.”
“N-no,” you stutter.
“Come, my flower. We’ll be leaving now,” Kyojuro says.
You have no choice but to follow him with the firm grip he has on you. Your feet can barely keep up with his quick gait as he drags along behind him to his room. You’re trying your best to utter some sort of explanation, but he doesn’t even seem to care.
“What the hell was that?” He asks as he pulls you into his bedroom and shuts the door.
“I-I didn’t. It was them,” you explain. “They thought it was sad I wasn’t married and--”
“Are you unhappy?”
“No! Not at all,” you take his hand in yours. “Kyo, I love you so much. I’m not unhappy at all.”
“You love me?”
“Mhm,” you hum. “So much.”
“Then prove it,” he growls softly, “Bed. Now.”

Master Kagaya is a dutiful man, he never once strayed far away from his obligation. Though, beneath his gentle demeanor, he bore a deep hatred. A descendant of an evil birthed a millennium ago, the Ubuyashiki family is cursed to forever pay for this sin. Blind and yet painfully aware of the impending doom that awaits his children, he remains level headed and supportive.
His children know of such a curse, it is no surprise the Master is in need of constant assistance. His wife, needing every bit of support in the aid of her husband. In turn, certain kakushi bless the home of the Ubuyashiki family, providing a sense of relief.
It was one of those days that further blessed the heart of a certain Hashira.
While required to dress accordingly to protect the identities of the kakushi, Lady Amane took a rather peculiar liking to an outspoken young woman. Perhaps it was the moment she came to realize this young woman shared similar beliefs to her own. Or perhaps, it was the utter care she presented as she cared for young Kamado. While the two kakushi remained transfixed in scolding the young boy for not understanding the gravity of his own fate, she stayed still. Calm, though the glare in her eye spoke otherwise. It was as if Lady Amane saw her younger self within her. That same hunger to simply bring order around her. Order, regulation, and peace–
Y/N had earned her own spot in the Ubuyashiki Estate, hand picked by Lady Amane herself. Her attire changed as well–
No longer in uniform, she dawns a kimono that signifies her status within the home. Awake at first light, she even stays up throughout the late hours of the evening providing support to their Master. This change in pace brings quick relief felt throughout the Estate.
__
A meeting with all his children commenced on a morning that left the Master particularly ill. Since dawn, he had stained every cloth in red. But, his children deserve an update. They must see him, even if it shall bring a terrible ache.
Walking slowly by his side, Lady Amane and Y/N bring support by holding tightly onto his arms. This morning starts anew for Y/N, as this is to be her official debut without dawning a uniform that strips away her identity. Her name to be addressed after today, her purpose to be solidified.
A line of 9 individual strengths lineup mere feet from the edge of the engawa, and with the approaching sight of Master, they all take form. A sign of respect to the man that had given their lives purpose. Faint voices of greetings escape from the line of bowed heads.
“Good morning Master”
At the center, the two women leave him to sit but remain close. Arms at their front, hands interlocked as attention is focused forward. Y/N however, took a moment to trace her eyes along the line. She had never seen the brave 9 up close before–stories of fortunate kakushi that were able to lend aid to injured Hashira were the only bits of information she gathered of their existence. The adrenaline kicks in swiftly as the heads of the courageous lift-
Her eyes, while not quite done being utterly nosey, meet with a fiery gaze.
“I had all and then most of you”-
Time had stopped, even just for a second, this was undeniable. Within an instant, the interest sparked. He wears fire and resembles light. A soft, gentle man with the look of pure determination. The spark of interest indeed.
Quickly, she looks away from him, completely embarrassed by the sudden gaze. The bright flush in her supple cheeks caught all by him. The smile that curves onto his face is welcomed, as he dare not hide his joy. Why hide such an interest for such a lovely sight.
The meeting ran for less than typical, Master could not handle the overwhelming warmth and topic of conversation. The sacrifice of his most treasured time with his children had to be cut short to his dismay. His cough worsened, words leaving him as he is left winded. Y/N had recognized his discomfort moments prior, due to this, she was by his side in an instant. Like a mother with a child, she nurtured him as Lady Amane guided him up.
Given the circumstance, it was entirely inappropriate to witness this woman and feel attracted. And yet, here he watches her so intently as they walk away. Her gentle hand caresses his back as she seems to whisper into his ear. Her face is soft, and yet concerned. Everything about her is no less than intriguing.
“Oh how I wish to see you once more.”
__
Nothing could have kept him away from the Ubuyashiki Estate. Whether he was training with Lord Tengen, or sharing sticky dango with Mitsuri, he found himself walking along the path just outside. His head turned every so often to maybe catch her. He did not understand why he felt this intense drive to see her more, but he couldn't take it much longer. How is it he had never seen her until now?
“What is her story? Would she allow me to peek inside her mystery?”
He returned in the night–
His younger brother wondered where he had run off to. Senjuro knew Kyojuro was not assigned to duty. There hadn't been anything worth worrying about in the neighboring villages, surprisingly, it had been relatively peaceful. Though, this wasn't any cause for concern, as he would come to find out what kept him away from their quality time soon enough!
Like the rest of this side of the world, many had begun to prepare themselves for well deserved rest. All but for her–the duty of the aid is never done. The garden had become her sanctuary while keeping watch. A peaceful stream of water flows through as she steps along the stone. The back gate had remained open to the unknown.
At last, she sees him just before she can make her way to close the gate. Once again, they are left to their own pocket of time. The air thin as she chokes slightly on her own breath, not knowing what to say or what to do, they just stare for a moment.
All at once, that spark ignites something within the bottoms of their feet–wanting nothing more than to get closer. Standing across from one another, they finally share a moment of bliss.
“Hello-”
“Hello-”
The night they met-
__
“She is an outstanding woman! One of care and pure heart! Not to mention stongwilled!”-He continued eagerly.
“Can you believe she caught the interest of the Master? To be hand picked out of all the kakushi? Wow-”
Snickers among the group follow right behind the man of flame as he daydreams-
“The master isn't the only one she caught the attention of.”-
“Oh please calm yourselves, he’s utterly oblivious! This is just cruel teasing!”
“What’s cruel?”-As if to prove them right, Lord Tengen shakes his head as he looks to his best buddy, completely dumbfounded.
“Oblivious and seemingly dense. It’s a miracle she spends time with you buddy-”
The faint giggles now become hearty laughs as the group begin to feel defeated. Perhaps time will be kind and make haste of the two. Hopefully.
Meanwhile, Y/N had taken liberty to prepare a quick meal for the humble family before Lady Amane notices. She has this sense of duty to be the only one that fulfills the household tasks. Incessant that Y/N relaxes while she can, as in her words-
“You help enough.”
But of course, being that same outspoken woman, there is no way Y/N would ever leave the workload to one person. Especially not after how accommodating they have been with her. This is the least she could do! Plus, this serves as a wonderful distraction! Y/N has become completely engrossed by the Flame Hashira, all her thoughts consist of just him.
The night they met proved to be something special. Nothing could compare to the late night talks they continued to have. Stories of his adventures far and wide engulfed the woman in such passion. She never heard of anyone acting the way he does–he is gallant, thoughtful.
It had become routine for Kyojuro to simply make time to visit her in secret, making it obvious to everyone but him that this is simply more than friendship. Kyojuro is just grateful to have met someone so interested in his story. She is someone who sees him, never once looking through into the next person. It’s refreshing to have more than just his brother to speak to so freely with.
Oh–and yes, Senjuro is all too keen on one day meeting this special lady. Children are incredibly observant, sometimes though, a little too observant. Some nights are longer than others, while other nights, he comes home with a slight pink hue. It’s all too refreshing to see his eldest brother finally meet his match.
“I had all and then most of you, some and now”-
He met his match alright-
The nights leading up to the mission, Y/N felt a chill crawl up her spine. Something wasn't right, in fact, the world felt as though it had shifted. Yet, he never seemed to understand it. He was so driven by his own pride and determination, the dangers meant nothing to him.
But it meant everything to her. She never meant to strip him of his manhood. In fact, she was always the one to remind him nightly how much he truly did for our world. Our twisted, violent world full of creatures that plague the midnight sky. It wasn't in her character to be overly selfish, but for tonight, she must-
“Kyojuro, do not leave the base. Pass this along to another Hashira, someone who is more experienced in years-”
Cut off, the tension is thick.
“Now you say I am not experienced enough? What next? You think I should retire now because I’m simply not strong enough?”
His anger is palpable, though he does his best to keep it within him. It wasn't in his character to be angry. He simply just did not have it in him to be angry, and he could never direct his anger towards her. Though, his livelihood is now being questioned by a woman he had met not too long ago. Who gave her the right to disrespect a Hashira?
“N-No! K-Kyojuro, please you misunderstand-”
His boiling point. What was it with the people around him that seemingly had no faith in his ability to think for himself? He had been called oblivious, dazed, and whatever else behind his back. Now, the one he had come to adore, claims he misunderstood her words? As if she did not speak them into existence?
“No. I think it’s best if we simply let go for tonight. I must prepare to leave within the hour. I still have much to do.”
The silence was deafening. The night sky blanketed over their feelings. There was more–so much more. There was just not enough time, not enough here to confess. They had just met. They only had mere hours late in the night to spend with one another, and each conversation consisted of his glory-
Her words failed to make it above water. She felt as if she was drowning in a sea of pure agony. Everything was right there-
Nothing.
This silence was more than enough for him. This ride was not meant for her, they could not ride together.
 Please, please-
__
All is quiet, but not all is calm. All 9 had gone through the motions of this morning’s news. Day break had brought on a cloud of sadness and grief. Nothing could have prepared her.
Last night’s silence brought on this morning’s guilt. Was there nothing that could be done? Why couldn't she have been enough for him. The breeze remained still after the final blow, as the trees came to a full stop. Yet another deafening silence that will forever imprint on her mind of things to despise.
In the distance, the familiar caw of the most trusted guides known to the slayers grow louder-
And louder, then louder.
Until further silence. The ring in her ear being the only thing that reminds her that she is still alive and left behind. Meanwhile-
He is dead.
“I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you.”-
Please, please…please-
“Take me back to the night we met, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I’m haunted by the ghost you.”

hello! Can you make Lee Muichiro ler Lady amane there’s no Fics about them
'Mother' and 'son' moment 🥹 (and angst-) (By the way, I did my math and considering that, I guess Kanae could have been alive in those moments-)
(Sorry if there are mistakes, I can't concentrate if I write something sad-)
Tumblr media
Ler: Amane Ubuyashiki (Kagaya's/Oyakata-Sama's wife)
Lee: Muichiro Tokito
'Tokito-San... I brought you di... nner...-', Amane entered the room, but there was no one there. She put the tray on the floor, she knew that if Muichiro wasn't in the room, he would be training.
She had accepted that at the beginning, but now she was worried, Kanae had recommended that Muichiro not make so much effort, since he was still somewhat weak.
'Tokito-San! It's too late to be training...! Please come back here', Muichiro glanced at her, but ignored her and continued.
Amane sighed and approached slowly, taking the wooden sword from Muichiro. 'Give it back to me! Can't you see I'm training?!'
'I see it, but it's not time to train, you must have dinner or you might faint... Let's go inside, I've prepared...-'
'I don't care! Give me my-!'
Muichiro fell to the ground holding his throat while coughing, he had overexerted himself too much.
Amane called one of his daughters to bring a glass of water and after he drank, he fell asleep.
'Mother...?', he spoke, slowly opening his eyes. 'Tokito-San... Do you feel-?'
'Where I am...?', Amane caressed his head, she hadn't left his side all night.
She had taken Muichiro to Kocho's estate, she wanted to make sure that everything was okay with the minor and fortunately it was.
'You passed out and I brought you here to make sure you're okay, please eat some, okay?'
'Would you mind feeding me...?', she nodded, a mother's instinct I suppose.
He looked somewhat happy, being pampered by Amane made him feel happy, it made him feel... As if whoever was next to him was his real mother... 'I-I'm sorry... I don't know what's wrong with me...'
Muichiro was going to dry his tears, but someone beat him to it. That gentle touch that she had, a touch that a loving mother has, brought a smile to his face, small, but it was.
'You should smile more, don't you think?' 'I-I was smiling...?', Amane nodded.
Muichiro didn't know, maybe he got too lost in his thoughts or maybe he did know but he was trying to hide it.
It was probably more the former, because Muichiro didn't realize that he was now on Amane's chest, feeling her caress his cheek.
'Amane-San... You... Do you think you could tickle me...?'
'Huh? 'Do you want that?'
'Yes... But don't be abrupt or cruel...! Be gehehentle!', Amane couldn't help but smile.
Muichiro felt good, it's the kind of tickling that relaxes, that sometimes (internally) makes you feel good, that helps you release stress and that makes you feel like you can't be judged because it's something you need...
He didn't remember how long had it been since he sat on his mother's lap and made the same request, he felt good...
Muichiro...
Muichiro...
Tokito-San?
He recognized that voice instantly and almost at the same time he opened his eyes and looked to his side.
Amane was by his side, usually she would have been with her husband, but due to his condition, it was impossible for him to get out of bed. 'Amane-San... How are you...?'
'I feel fine, thank you. And you? How is it? Don't move much, we still don't know if you're fully recovered. Oyakata-Sama and we are all proud of you, congratulations', Muichiro looked away, he felt strange.
That fog had diminished, now it was not so difficult for him to remember, he felt confused.
But even with the fog in his head, he couldn't forget Amane-San, something in his mind didn't allow him to do so, neither she nor Kagaya could leave his mind, they remained there.
'Tokito-San? Once again you are looking at a non-existent corner, it would be best if you...'
Things didn't change much, Muichiro hugged Amane with love and happiness, feeling how she also hugged him.
It was a great progress, she always saw how Muichiro avoided almost all types of physical contact, but not anymore, it was he who had taken the initiative and hugged her.
'Tokito-San...' 'Call me Muichiro or Mui, whatever you wish!'
'Okay... Muichiro, I guess this hug has a ulterior motive, right?'
Muichiro denied embarrassedly, earning a chuckle from Amane when after a few seconds he nodded. 'I guess this will become a habit, right?'
Amane said as her hands moved up from his ribs to his armpits, gently kneading in the center. 'Ehehehehe! Amahanehehe-Sahahan!!'
'If it's too much for you, tell me and I'll stop, okay?' 'O-okahahay!!'
It would be a long time, Muichiro had no intention of it stopping anytime soon, what did it matter if someone saw them?
After a few minutes, Amane stopped, leaving him confused. 'H-huh? Why did you stop?'
'I've only given you a moment's respite for what I'm about to do...'
'And what-? EHEHEHEHE!! AMAHANEHE-SAHAHAHAN!!'
Muichiro started kicking, he should have guessed, but it wasn't like he cared that much after all, he wanted that, right?
'I'm not overdoing it, right?', he denied. 'Again!'
Amane smiled and nodded, who knew that child would love raspberries? Well, she knew it, she knew him as well as she knew her children.
'Well, I think that's enough raspberries for one day hahaha', and with that, Amane stopped
After catching his breath, he hugged her, beginning to fall asleep as she began to hum a lullaby.
When she finally felt that he had fallen fast asleep, she left him on the bed, tucked him in and kissed his forehead. 'Rest well To-... Sorry... Muichiro... I love you very much'
'Amane-San... I love you too... Mom...'
Amane stroked his hair for the last time and left happily, she can't wait to tell Kagaya what had happened

Gyuu sat in front of his master. His wife, Amane, was right behind preparing something to drink.
It was amazing how much respect he had for that man.
Gyuu bowed
“What makes you call me, master?”
Kagaya smiled
“It’s nothing formal, Gyuu, it’s just a consultation I’ve been doing with my children”
The hashira looked at him, confused
"What it is?"
“I don’t think you’re well” he reached out and held the man’s hand “are you feeling unwell, my child?”
“Should I be honest, master?” Gyuu said without emotion
“Of course, but know that your actions will have consequences” Kagaya laughed, Gyuu looked confused
“I haven’t felt well for a long time, master” Hashira sighed “I guess I’m not happy now”
Kagaya sighed
“Everyone else responded like this…”
“Except Miss Kanroji” Amane said softly, but the master heard and laughed
“Except Mitsuri, and do you know what everyone got, even Mitsuri?”
Gyuu widened his eyes “what?”
“The happiness treatment, which I usually use with my children, you know what it is, don’t you?”
Master Kagaya approached Gyuu, making his stomach turn.
"I- I don’t-"
“Come on Gyuu, haven’t I treated you like this before?” He flicked his fingers as he approached the other
Gyuu wanted to remain firm, but he was too anxious and couldn't contain his silly smile.
“Y-yes, m-master”
“Then it will work, especially if you are as sensitive as you usually are.”
Kagaya finally placed him hands on the man's stomach
Gyuu let out an exclamation
He wasn't laughing yet, he was holding back
“You don’t need to hold back your laughter here, Gyuu”
Was it true? The hashira placed all his trust in that man, and he had already gone through the treatment before, and the other times laughing had made him feel better, Gyuu didn't want to hold back his laughter
Then he finally started laughing
Kagaya traced paths through Gyuu's ribs
“You seem much happier, my child, but the finishing touch is missing” the master turned back, still squeezing the hashira’s ribs “Amane, dear, can you help me?”
The woman was confused, but got up and went to whoever was calling her.
“What do you need, my master?”
"Can you help me? Keep pressing here where I am, on his ribs” Kagaya seemed very excited
“But- I-“ the woman was confused, did the master want her to tickle someone? And Gyuu there laughing on the floor, would he want her to tickle him?
In fact Gyuu was laughing too much to notice, he was focused on letting his laughter flow
“Yes, just like you are doing” Kagaya congratulated Amane when he saw what she was doing “now… what do you think about this spot here, Gyuu?”
“Nohohoho, mesteheher!”
“Sounds like a good spot~”
Kagaya pressed on the specific place on Gyuu's kneecaps that made him jump.
Amane was a little confused, but smiled as Hashira's laughter increased.
“MEHEHEHESTEHER PLEHEASEHE”
“That’s what everyone says, right Amane?”
“Yes, master”
The hands tracing his sides and ribs combined with the hands squeezing his knees made Gyuu want to scream
“MEHEHEHESTER STOHOHOP”
Kagaya smiled
“Okay, okay” he signaled the woman to stop
Gyuu lay on the floor
“Are you feeling better, child?”
“Yes, master, thank you very *hic* much” Gyuu’s eyes widened at what he had just done
The master laughed “do you have hiccups?”
“Apparently *hic* yes” Gyuu smiled, he wasn’t afraid to smile at his master
“So deal with that hiccup, and remember, every time you’re sad, I’m here.”
Kagaya gave the hashira a hug
Gyuu got up
“Thank you, *hic* lady”
Amane looked at Gyuu and smiled
“Your laugh is contagious, sir.”
Gyuu smiled, and finally left
At the exit, Muichiro was waiting to enter
"What happened?" The youngest asked when he saw Gyuu all messed up.

Love Is Blind Ch4 A Hesitant Agreement
(Warnings: Depictions of Kagaya's illness and scars Yn has a small panic attack.
Just for context. For the story at the moment Kagaya is 20 and Y/n is 19 years old.)
Tumblr media
Quietness filled the space with uneasy silence.
The silence was temporary interrupted by a shaky hand gently reaching out to grab a warm cup off the table sat in front of him. The warmth had a sigh escaping his lips before the cup pressed against the smile. Sweet tastes of green tea and honey danced along his taste buds and soothed the dull stinging leftover in his throat from earlier coughing. The relieving feeling was bliss. Despite the fact that he felt at least three pairs of eyes staring at him but he had the before thought of expecting this reaction to first seeing his face.
"As I was saying......even he ....... happily filled life......Wedding!"
F/c eyes stared at the blind man in front of you. Kagaya smiled continuing to drink the tea a maid brought him earlier after his grandfather had practically carried his body back into the house. You remained silent however. Your mind blank and numb trying to process the reality that was presented to it. Your mother and father sat next to you equally as bamboozled and shocked at this entire situation constantly exchanging glances and looks at one another as if hoping the other had an answer to this. The only one who really seemed to make an effort to keep talking was Mr. Kotoya who smiled and kept speaking. You couldn't comprehend what he was saying, only small pieces of entire paragraphs the old man continued to ramble on about otherwise all you could comprehend was white noise and a ringing in your ears as your blank mind still stared.
"The garden........I just know-........ excellent cakes in town!.......... precisely!" Mr. Kotoya looked to laugh after finishing whatever he was currently rambling on about your mind didn't hear before reaching out to pat his grandson's back fondly. Kagaya didn't say anything but smiled politely at him. "Did........I............kimono fitting!"
It was only then after minutes of this happening you were snapped out of your long stupor by your mother slapping an arm around your shoulder before scowling at the men in front of her. "There is absolutely no way on earth my daughter is going to be fitted for a wedding dress tomorrow! Are you foolish?!"
You were finally snapped back with a jump as you blinked and all at once you were hit with the ice cold reality of it all. Of the situation. Of Kagaya.
"I'm only suggesting that we make preparations is all."
"Preparations?! I'm not allowing you to just marry my daughter off like a matchmaker!"
"My lady, it's already fated by the gods! Why else would they bring our children together but to be married? And if I say so it's a perfect match!" He gushed clasping his hands together and smiling widely. "An herbalist! That's almost as wonderful as a doctor! Kagaya will be in such good hands with someone who could take care of him!"
Take care of him?
The question echoed in your mind bouncing off the walls of your skull as you just stared at him now freezing up with hard realization brought up by that statement. Take care of him. You were expected to....take care of him? Like a patient?
"Are you sure you're Kagaya Ubuyashiki?" The question escaped your mouth before you could stop yourself.
Kagaya only nodded calmly. "I am."
It was Kagaya Ubuyashiki.....
THIS WAS YOUR SOULMATE?! F/c eyes looked him up and down and up and down. Over and over again. Staring at the white orbs of his eyes. The shaking of his hands. The purpled old scars sat upon the upper part of his face. No...No it just couldn't be! This just HAD to be some kind of mistake! There was absolutely no way that THIS man was your soulmate...
"But....You can't be." Your head shook slowly. Your words had the blind man slightly lowering the cup from his face. "You're not-...." You couldn't find the words to finish your sentence.
He was absolutely nothing like what you've been imagining about and praying for. All that time praying to the gods as hard as you could. All the small offerings you left out, taking painstakingly long hours to pick the freshest fruits and baking the sweetest foods in order to appease the gods. All the time making sure you'd be on your best behavior to not anger them....It was all for nothing?!
The dreams you had of having someone to travel with you. Share sweet memories with. Of a handsome man taking you by the hand as you two walked along a beach-
"*COUGH COUGH!!*" Kagaya carefully but hastily placed the cup back down as another small round of coughing erupted from his body causing him to turn his head.
THIS MAN COULD BARELY STAND ON HIS OWN LET ALONE WALK!! Your whole reality shattered around yourself. The feeling was intense. It was like having a nice house you've worked on decorating for years to hopefully be standing up strong one day only for giant hands to wrap around the walls squeezing it all until it cracked and crumbled into nothing but ashes, and then someone offering up a second rate hutt with a shrug and saying-
"This is the best we could do. It still kinda fits with what your life is. Be grateful you got this."
The coughing continued the more you stared. And an emense overwhelming feeling of disappointment bubbled up from deep in your chest. This is who the gods decided was your perfect match?? This is what they thought would be the ideal life partner was?
"Please excuse me," Kagaya rasped out raising a shaking hand to cover his mouth with a handkerchief in a vain attempt to still be polite. "I-I do not mean to come off as such."
Mr. Kotoya patted his shoulder. "Don't apologize for it. It's not your fault, but things will be better now."
Kagaya did not respond to his grandfather but turned his half covered face in your direction and shakily reached out a hand. "I do deeply apologize to you for not exactly being what you might've expected of a future husband, Y/n. But I do want to be able to have a chance to get to know you better. I've been curious about you ever since I read your name upon my hands." A softer closed eye smile was given to you as he lowered the handkerchief.
You just stared at him. Flashes of hypothetically scenarios flashing in your mind at the speed of lightning after the words 'future husband' left Kagaya. A vision of yourself having to literally carry your husband down the aisle at your own wedding, watching as your guests laughed and danced as you could only sit next to your husband not being able to enjoy any of the activities with him because he was too weak and tired. A vision of you trying to kiss him only for him to go into a coughing fit each and every time. A vision of you struggling to calm down a crying newborn and other children fighting, trying to parent them yourself as their father could only weakly watch from his bed. A vision of you walking him around, having to help him eat, and having to constantly watch over him day after day night after night for the rest of your life staying forever confined to his bedside. His own bedside nurse for everything and anything he needed. Never again being able to have freedom or time to yourself because you'd be tied to him by a commitment through ceremony.
You didn't notice too distracted by the rapid thoughts running through your mind but your body back in the real world started hyperventilating.
Everything that you every worked for-..GONE!! Everything you wanted to do-.. FORGOTTEN!! Anything you had already accomplished-.. WOULD BE ALL FOR NOTHING!! Your entire life would be stripped from you and your desires would be nothing but an afterthought. You'd be nothing but someone's personal assistant for the rest of your life!! It was all over.
"Miss Y)n, please calm yourself."
A voice called out to the panicked mind.
"Shh. Shh. You must listen."
You jolted back as something gentle grabbed either of your cheeks and something pressed against your forehead. F/c eyes deeply staring into white orbs. Confusion filled with panic, mouth panting heavily heaving fresh air into  burning lungs.
"Shh. Shh. There you go. You're alright. There, there. I've got you." Something-.. SOMEONE soft and warm and gentle pressed against your forehead continuing to gently speak."Breath in through your nose and out of your mouth slowly. It helps to calm your heart."
You stared at the blind orbs of Kagaya as he calmly smiled at you literally forehead touching to forehead silently......All panic and reason was thrown right out of your brain as a fountain of scalding hot red passed over all through your neck and face making your pale hair look like a cherry was wearing a wig.
"Hhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa-!? Off, off, off!!"
You had finally found your voice again squealing the words and harmlessly slapping at his hands holding your face. Kagaya only chuckled and slowly obeyed your wishes removing himself from you and sitting back down. Your flustered face burnt a red. Your mother looked one second away from throwing herself across the small table and strangle Kagaya as she glared deeply at him. Your father seemed to be both surprised and thinking about something. Meanwhile Mr. Kotoya never lost that bright smile of his.
"This meeting has no more need to continue on," Kagaya spoke calmly and exhaled, "It's clear to everyone that she wasn't properly informed of my condition before coming here, and it's more than obvious that the thought of any kind of relationship between us is not something she wants. Ms. Y/n will not be coerced or forced into any kind of lifelong commitment."
Everyone stared in surprise at Kagaya but after a moment you sighed in great relief. Oh thank the gods for this fix up. Kotoya sputtered looking at him in disbelief.
"Kagaya, do you have any idea what you're saying?!"
"Yes. I am highly aware."
"But she's your soulmate. The gods have chosen her!" The old man's hands desperately grabbed onto the blind man's haori coat despite Kagaya not even batting an eye. "The gods have sent her to you to be your wife! It's her duty to be by your side-"
A single, shaking hand was instantly held up silencing the old man instantly as if he feared the invoking the blind man's supposed wrath. "I will not take a marriage that is founded on force and deceit. If Ms. Y/n wishes to not engage in this then that will be my final decision. No one here will make her take my hand."
Your father's brows rose higher. Your mother still frowned but looked surprised. You just felt an emense sense of relief. Oh thank the gods for this. You supposed Kagaya really was an honorable man like Rengoku mentioned.
"Well then...If that's your final answer then we really don't have anything else to discuss here." Your father slowly stood up. "And no more reason to be here." He bowed lightly. "But we thank you all for your hospitality."
Kagaya also smiled and bowed to him. "Thank you for coming to visit me. It was very nice to meet all of you." Kotoya sputtered strange sounds looking between all of you and Kagaya moving his arms until  Kagaya reached a hand out to grab his grandfather's arm. "Be still. I apologize for all the trouble caused by my grandfather. He wants what's best for me but he went about it the wrong way."
Your mother huffed before also standing up and pulling you with her. "Well next time he gets it in his head to harass someone, you better knock some sense into that thick head of his!"
"HONEY!! I apologize for my wife. She can have a temper when she's stressed."
"It's quite alright considering everything that's happened. He should've asked properly."
You were relieved. You could go home. You could have that life you've always wanted-
"Which is why I ask you, Mr. and Mrs. L/n, for your blessings to court your daughter."
A glass shattering sound went off in your mind. WHAT?!
There was a soft grunt escaping from Kagaya as he reached out to push himself up, struggling to get to his feet but eventually able to slowly stand up on his own carefully. Smiling politely right at you. "Ms. Y/n, I would also like your permission to start courting you."
You blinked. "What?'
"I will not force you or try to change your mind if you still say no, but I meant it when I said I would like to still get to know you better. Perhaps we could find a way to allow us to talk more?"
You stared at him mouth wide in shock. "I-.....I-I don't know."
"Hire her to help you for a year!" You nearly jumped as Mr. Kotoya jumped up with a smile and solution. "She'll be paid, have her own room, and have free reign of the grounds!" Kagaya tilted his head at him. "All she have to do is help you a little bit and make some medicine when you need it! That way you two can really get to know one another and she can decide if she wants to live here permanently! If she's not satisfied by the end of the year then she can do whatever she wants!"
Kagaya hummed in thought. "...That does not seem like a bad idea." He turned back to you. "But again it's entirely up to her."
"..... Would you excuse us for a moment?" Your father reached out to pull your surprised mother across the room and turned their backs towards the lot of you. He pulled her close and the two of them began to whisper on about something. You could only watch as they spoke. At one point your father pointed back towards Kagaya. Both briefly looked up at him, spoke a little more, before turning back around as your father cleared his throat. "Well we've talked it over. Our reason for coming here was to stop all the harassment from your grandfather as my daughter deserves to have a life of her own. However Mr. Kagaya Ubuyashiki, your kindness and understanding of the situation has not only moved us but shows how mature about the situation you are. BUT-..." Your father sternly held up a hand pointing at him (despite the fact he was blind). "I meant it when I said my daughter deserves to have her own choices. She's a grown woman now and can make up her own mind. If she chooses to go back then we'll support her and won't force her to be in any marriage soulmate or not." You mother nodded agreeing with everything he said
You sighed relieved and smiled. You were so lucky to have such wonderful parents like them.
"However like I said she can decide what she wants to do with her life. If she wants to accept your deal, then we'll allow her without fighting to change her mind. You'll have our blessings to court her if and ONLY IF Y/n agrees to it, and only if we're promised she'll be treated fairly."
"You have my word she'll be treated with the upmost respect." Kagaya bowed his head to them. "I thank you both." Before he tilted his head back to you. "But your choice is entirely yours. I will respect any choice you make."
Your choice huh? You froze being put on the spot as four heads turned to you. Staring and waiting for an answer. It was intense, nerve wracking even. Even though you wouldn't be forced at all and freely given the choice. You really didn't want to but for some reason before you even knew what you were doing, a single word escaped from your mouth-
"Yes."

The Half Hashira Teil 1.3
At the end, choose what happens next. write it in the comments.
----
Tanjiro turned his head towards me.
"Huh?"
I was a bit confused and hadn't expected such a question at the beginning.
"I'm sorry. you don't have to answer me, I'm just curious."
The redhead waved his arms around as he was probably embarrassed now.
"No, it's all right Tanjiro. Well, how can I put it, but most of the Hashira think I'm nice. And since I don't feel a thirst for blood and can walk in daylight, it was probably easy for them to accept me. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the exact reason why, hehe."
I looked to the side sheepishly and scratched my right cheek with my finger, not knowing exactly what to say because I didn't want to reveal everything to the others right away, as they would find out soon enough.
At the end of the forest, which we had reached in the meantime, several lights appeared. The inn was not that far away, which meant that the hot springs were not far away.
"So they're all relatively tolerant of other demons? Because I can't do without Nezuko."
"Well, I'm afraid I can't give you an answer to that, because I grew up with Kagaya and have known every one of them since they started."
I replied.
-Unfortunately, they will probably treat her differently than me. But I will stand up for Nezuko, because she is clearly someone special-
I smiled at him and tried to encourage him a little.
"Hey halfling! What kind of place is this?"
Inosuke shouted at me.
"A small inn with hot springs. You can rest here. And eat something."
I just said and told them to go into the small wooden house.
An elderly lady was already waiting for us at the entrance and instructed each of them to make themselves comfortable. Everyone was given their own room and the food was brought to their room accordingly. The elderly lady gave everyone a white kimono and several towels. We all bowed our thanks.
Everyone made themselves comfortable in their room and ate something before heading to the water. What the others don't know, of course, is that it's a communal bath.
Of course I was very happy about it inside, but I also knew that I shouldn't overdo it. Even though I couldn't get the person from the trees out of my head, I would take care of him later and he knew that I would talk to him anyway.
"Let's go to the others then."
Now I was only dressed in a towel that covered my body except for my arms and my feet. I put my long (h/C) hair up with a hairpin so that it couldn't get any wetter. I walked quietly through the small inn. It was more than just cozy because of the wood and the individual flowers that stood in a corner every now and then. The way to the bathroom was quiet, but I could already hear the voices of the others.
I stepped out into the night air again to get to the spring.
The three boys sat comfortably and relaxed while Nezuko sat on the edge and swung her feet back and forth in the water.
"Hello boys, I hope you still have room for me?"
I must have startled them all with my voice, because they all jumped up. And then they blushed when they saw me, dressed in just a towel.
And now I could also see Inosuke's beautiful face. His blue/black hair hung down and framed his face. Those eyes. Those eyes were just a dream. I blushed a little myself and couldn't believe he was covering that face with a mask. All three of them looked so beautiful. I don't even know who to sit down with.
A) Tanjiro
B) Zenitsu
C) Inosuke
