Chilchuck analysis speedrun: As a hardworking half-foot who grew up poor and discriminated against and had his gullibility taken advantage of multiple times in his early adventuring days, Chilchuck thinks optimism is a dangerous flaw. He’s stressed and strict all the time because his job is noticing details like traps that could get everyone killed before anyone knows it, he takes the lives of everyone to be on his shoulders, and with the way he speaks about it that probably partly reflects how he felt about taking it upon himself to provide for his family too. His life’s always been pretty centered around work and has become even moreso now that his wife left and everyone is independent, and due to past events he’s very iffy with bonding with coworkers. He thinks feelings and job are a disaster mix. Like with his wife or with parties hiring him as sacrifice, being open or having good faith is vulnerability which can get you hurt, so he processes and shows all his stress as anger instead of worry. Doing strict dieting probably isn’t helping the irritability what with hunger, and on top of being a hunger suppressant alcohol might be the main stress reliever he has.
His grey hairs are so earned

Somewhere fandom culture lost the plot. Some parts of our fandom have forgotten the word "fanon" and instead started labelling all their (shared) HCs as canon.
Don't get me wrong. I also have my own interpretations. But I do think it's important to be able to distinguish what is a headcanon (i.e. your personal interpretation), what is fanon (i.e.: a significant portion of the fandom accepts that headcanon), and what is canon (i.e. what is in the game and the (sub)context).
I applaud all the creativity and interpretations of characters, but please be for real that most very popular fanons aren't supported by lore/canon/in-game mechanics/facts.
Like: you can reset Shadowheart's class and make her a bard, but her canon class is a cleric. Even if everyone makes her a bard tomorrow, that would still not make her a canon-bard.
That's what's been going on lately when I look at discourse around Durge, Durgetash, Astarion (especially ascended Astarion), or Gortash, to just name a few.
But then people scream really loudly about their interpretation being the only correct one. And worse, they start harassing other fans over it. Start looking down at parts of fandom who don't share that fanon.
I tend to get lost in my own HCs too, sure. But it's valuable to take a seat every now and then, set all the fanart and fanfics aside, and (re)play the game, the entire thing that is, and bask in the context and canon. It's humbling, I can tell you that from personal experience.
Own your headcanon, thrive in your fanon, but be respectful enough to recognize it as such.

What are your thought on First Ninja when he was introduced or just made a major role in the finale of the first season of “Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja?”
Honestly, I wasn't the greatest fan of a very random time travel episode at first. But when it came to First Ninja himself - I was so excited! Because look!!! Cool Ninja Prime who held the mask first!!! What secrets and lore we will glimpse from him?! And his entrance was so epic, not to mention his design was just fun to see.
And then I got a little disappointed because they did him so dirty in the rest of the episode. ;( He literally gave up and was ready to walk away because his plan failed and Sorcerer got an upper hand, like HUH?????! And this man supposedly was part of the Clan that was chasing Sorcerer for YEARS across CONTINENTS and lost ALL OF HIS SIBLINGS in the process. Like?? What.
I know all of it was done so Randy could be the cool one in the episode, but like?? Come on! If creators spent less time on jokes about Plop Plop's name (and just bathroom jokes in general), we could have gotten an actual super epic fight between First Ninja and Sorcerer, instead of Randy just doing all the battle and First Ninja literally just punching Sorcerer once and dunking him in a hole.
And I know, I know it was done in the same vein as the whole show, and I usually like RC9GN humour in general, but even the silliest of cartoons can sometimes make the most epic and serious episodes, especially finales, and I wished if anything it was that one. They still could have done the same haha funnies, but also like?? it could have been so much better.
So in conclusion, if I ever wanted to rewrite an episode, it would be the 13th Century Ninja, tbh.

Fandom: Tekken
Relationship: Kazama Jun/Mishima Kazuya
Rating: Explicit (this one has sexy times so not for kiddos)
THIS IS POST TEKKEN 8. BIG TEKKEN 8 SPOILERS. DON'T READ IT WITHOUT FINISHING THE GAME UNLESS YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT SPOILERS.
Additional Tags: Reunion, Reunion sex, Vaginal Sex, Vaginal Fingering, Awkward Conversations About Not-So-Accidentally Trying to Murder Your Son and Actually Murdering Your Dad and Kind of Accidentally Abandoning Your Unknown Baby-Mama, Forgiveness, Getting Back Together, Dealing with the mental fallout of Tekken 2 to Tekken 8, which for both of them is...a lot, but they're getting there
"I am not the man you want me to be," Kazuya admits. "But that does not mean the man I am does not love you."
"...Still?" Jun asks, the word the only thing that can quite get out of her throat.

a very primitive take on skirk
i really don't hate the color palette of her design, i just wish she was a little bit scruffier. time passes differently in the abyss, but that doesn't mean the wear and tear can't show on one's body, which i think is where part of her canon design falls short in displaying her as a warrior of the unknown. i think it would be interesting if she were covered in scars that almost glistened with freshness, if she wore the pelt of a fallen abyss mage, if the darkness of the abyss had begun to seep into her skin.
idk i just wanted a visually more striking design, instead of just... "waifu."
i do also think it would be interesting to avoid any and all gold in her color palette. most playable characters in game have some sort of gold incorporated into their design, and i just really think it would set her apart to be void of that color.

honestly if I were ever to throw the Suitehearts into any of my Killjoys stuff the dynamic would literally be the stupidest thing in the world. you do not want to have the Four and those guys together in any setting. it's a recipe for disaster. Jet and Benzedrine bitch and bicker like old ladies. telepathic warfare is waged via a complex language of glares and eyebrow movements between everyone in the room. Sandman makes a wholeheartedly joking comment to Ghoul like "I want to study you in a lab" and Kobra Kid gives him a black eye on the spot. Crab and Donnie end up playing hide n seek with the Girl until someone else who isn't aware of the game accidentally dumps a whole dude out of their hiding spot on accident and then gets elbowed for it. everyone hates each other but they're also kind of pals in the way that people who occasionally help each other out but don't see each other outside of that can be. that kind of thing

*wakes up in a cold sweat*
What if Nero still experiences phantom limb syndrome (despite his arm growing back) because the arm is basically an apparition and there’s times where it doesn’t feel real to him, and combined with PTSD flashbacks it gives him this weird feeling where his arm is both there and not there at the same time and, even if he’s looking directly at it, his right hand doesn’t quite feel like his own?
Does that make sense? Am I making sense here?

A Sky of Honey inspired me to also write Omegaverse, but I keep forgetting that I am writing Omegaverse.
See, I keep having the opposite problem. I'll be writing borderline or another fic and all of a sudden I'll be describing their scents and have to backtrack.
Or, as has been happening more frequently since I started writing borderline and bloodletting, I keep accidentally adding in mental conversations and mando'a respectively into the wrong fics.
