What AI Art is NOT
I keep seeing people refuting points from REAL ACTUAL ARTISTS using these talking points. So here’s a sort of FAQ of what I’ve seen.
Q: Isn’t AI Art is just a tool?
A: Tools include grids, perspective lines, rulers, apps like Sketch Up which place assets that are pre-designed and cannot be altered, et cetera. Tools are NOT: apps that draw the whole picture for you. If AI datasets were tools, then artists would also be tools. Artists aren’t tools.
Q: AI Art isn’t stealing art. It’s just like a collage.
A: I really want you to think about what a collage is versus the kind of art an AI dataset spits out. Are those things the same? Collages are derivative and generally fall under parody law, so long as the person creating them isn’t taking credit for the parts of the collage they didn’t photograph or draw. You cannot sell a collage of other peoples’ work without express written permission from those people. The elements of a collage are each separate and identifiable as such.
AI art is not a collage. The elements of an AI art piece are not separate and identifiable. They are combined into one single piece, where each piece cannot specifically be traced. AI art does not fit the definition of a derivative or parody work.
Q: If someone puts their art on the internet, it’s fair game.
A: Copyright law specifically disagrees with you on this point.
Q: If it’s not a collage and one can’t see the pieces of the art, doesn’t that make it an original work, and therefore, it’s not theft?
A: AI isn’t generating a new image. It’s taking pieces from many originals and “claiming” to make a new original piece. However, AI cannot generate these things without knowing what they are (IE skimming tags and allowing users to tell the AI what’s in the picture) Without the input of original artists, an AI would not be able to create anything, which is why most datasets include millions of pieces of art “scraped” (AKA stolen) from the internet. Currently, these pieces AI makes are being sold, and the owners of the datasets are charging for their use. This means that people who did not actually create the art are being paid, whereas the original artists are not.
Q: AI art can’t replace real artists. You’re fearmongering.
A: AI art has already replaced real artists. Shortly after Kim Jung Ji died, someone fed all his artwork into a dataset and “created” several new pieces that were almost identical to his style. Cosmopolitan magazine released a cover “drawn” by an AI and blatantly stated on the cover “and it only took 20 seconds to make.” A magazine article in The Atlantic used AI art to generate a photo of Alex Jones surrounded by papers. Someone submitted AI generated art to an art contest and won. Several anecdotal stories (not verified, but reliable) on Twitter state that small companies have fired their graphic designers or cut their work force. Commissioned artists have reported dropping sales numbers.
Corporations (and most people) will ALWAYS favor a cheaper option. If it’s good enough, it’s usable. The Cosmo magazine cover and the article header image were TERRIBLE, and they still went to print. Everyone should know by now that corporations will ALWAYS screw people over when they’re able to. If AI art becomes acceptable and commonplace, in-house artists will be replaced. This isn’t theoretical. It is already happening.
Q: It’s going to happen anyway. You can either embrace it or reject it. (Yes, this is real. Someone actually said this to me.)
A: Yes... Exactly. I’m rejecting it. Without laws to protect artists, I will fight AI art whenever and wherever I can. It might be fun and convenient for you, a non-artist, but it is terrifying and heartbreaking for artists. Websites like Deviantart and Clip Studio Paint who said “well it’s going to happen anyway” should have been the first line of defense against the creep of AI art, but they failed. It can only take over if people let it. Stop letting it.

You and your self-important, European anon, may pretend to have inside info to make your Jared look better, but Kim's post should make it clear to everyone why Jared is no longer wanted at most creation cons. He just doesn't bring in enough money anymore. His overpriced demands are disproportionate to his sales. While Jensen's photos are always sold out immediately, as are JenMish, Jared's are usually available until the very end. Not to mention Mishalecki. So to say that Jared no longer wants to work with creation or Jensen, it is much more likely that creation no longer wants to work with Jared. Jensen is worth every penny. Jared is only good for a few cheap comic cons.
LMAO! Thanks for the laugh, anon! Kim's post only proves that she's unemployed and not that popular. I don't see Jared out there begging for conventions. In fact, he's charging the most at general conventions and still selling out.
But sure, anon. that's also why Creation was selling Jared-less cons at half-price before Christmas, and why the only sold-out sections next year are at cons with Jared.
The only reason Jensen and Misha's tickets go for more is because idiots like yourself are willing to go into debt to overbid on them. But those are only a small part of Creation's sales. They also need stars to attract people to the convention in general. It's why they added JDM to Burbank. And yet, Burbank only 3 months away still has 186 Sunday seat tickets available (out of 448) (59% sold) and New Jersey, which Jared is attending, only has 127 Sunday seats available (out of 679) (81% sold).
Also, no one ever said Jensen wasn't popular. We're just saying that Jared is looking to expand his reach beyond Supernatural and Creation, and that it's a good business move. If Jensen and Misha and their fans want to stick with Creation, great! No one's stopping them. But if you think Creation is the one that let Jared go, you're the one mistaken because the facts don't lie.
You can keep telling yourself Jared's not popular while he sells out on a frequent basis at general comic cons (even while charging the highest prices at those cons) and he and Gen nearly fill a 5,000 seat hall all on their own.

Wrong On The Money (11-12)

Giving the kids rides home from Hellfire meetings is wreaking havoc on Steve’s gas money. It also involves the double-edged sword of Eddie being there. Two birds, one stone—but seeing him always stirs up feelings in Steve’s chest that he doesn’t know what to do with, so the audience isn’t ideal.
“About that total,” Eddie says one night, in the hurried rush between the kids piling into the Beemer and exchanging bills so either no one saw or the older club members assumed it was a simple drug deal. “I need to charge interest.”
Steve pauses, peering at Eddie, whose expression and body language carry more of the tension from their first run-in than he’s seen in a while. His first instinct is to ask about his uncle, but he’s not supposed to know about that and doesn’t want to get Dustin in trouble for telling him.
So much for a straightforward total. There’s some jewelry in his parents' room that his mom hasn’t missed in months, and probably won’t ask about whenever she bothers to stop by the house next. Maybe he can sell it, help both Eddie and himself out.
“Sure, why not,” Steve sighs.
It’s Eddie’s turn to stop and frown at him. “Really? No protest, just like that?”
Steve angles a thumb over one shoulder, pointing back at the Beemer right as one of the kids (his money, if he had any left, would be on Mike) gets to the horn. “No time,” he says with a tight smile of his own.
The car honks again as he turns to go. He was right; Dustin has shotgun, but Mike is the one leaning up from the back seat to lay on the horn.
“Mike! Patience, dictionary, look it up!” Shaking his head, Steve starts towards the car at a brisk pace, throwing a quick “See you next week, Munson” over his shoulder.
12.
What the fuck was that, what the fuck was that?
“What the fuck was that?”
Jeff’s voice mirroring his exact thought makes Eddie jump at least half a foot in the air. Gareth and Frank are already headed to Frank’s car, a fact he notes with confusion because—
“I told them you’re giving me a ride,” Jeff explains. “Figured it’d give you an opportunity to share about whatever’s going on with you and The Hair lately.”
“There’s nothing going on,” Eddie mumbles, jamming both hands deep in his jeans pockets to tuck the wad of bills he’d palmed from Harrington safely away. He slouches off towards his van where it sits alone in the deserted parking lot.
“Then he’s shit at buying drugs,” Jeff shoots back, following, “because he didn’t take anything with him. Come on, Eddie, how long have we been friends? I was right there getting that rabies shot with you after you tried to house train a raccoon, man.”
Eddie gets in and starts the van, looking anywhere but at his friend. “What are you poking at this for? Let it go, it’s not that big a deal.”
Yes it is. Yes it is and I am in over my head, I am so in over my head it’s not even—
“Dude,” Jeff says flatly. “I can see you thinking a mile a minute.”
So Eddie cracks. He drives out to the middle of nowhere and parks in a field, and tells Jeff everything, hardly stopping for breath the entire time. He outs Harrington, which he's literally being paid not to do. He outs himself (which, nothing against Jeff, but he was kind of hoping to get the fuck out of Hawkins before anyone besides his uncle found out). He talks about how the doctors keep extending the time Wayne is on the medication, not happy with some sort of results from blood tests, and having to ask for interest.
“And he’s going to do it,” Eddie says, winded by disbelief of this fact as well as everything else that's tumbled out of his mouth like a goddamn avalanche. “He didn’t even ask how much. That must mean—I must have really intimidated him, right? What if I’m ruining his life?”
“Oh bull,” Jeff scoffs, finally elbowing a word in edgewise. “Nothing I saw tonight implied he thinks you’re intimidating. Look, wait a minute—did you just say you’re gay?”
Eddie freezes. “I . . . sort of did, yeah.”
“. . . And the best you can do is a crush on Steve Harrington?
He flushes, pulling clumps of his hair to cover his face with both hands—mortified, but also hiding a manic grin. They’ve been friends for years, and while Eddie hadn’t expected Jeff to call him a fag and spit in his face, it would’ve been too much to expect this kind of easy acceptance.
That done, he starts patting his pockets for a joint, because god he needs one. “Uh, apparently? He’s, I mean, he looks like that, but. . . .”
“But a total douchebag,” Jeff supplies. “Man, I get it, most of the girls in this town would call me a nerd or have their boyfriends beat me up as soon as look at me.” He pauses, accepting the joint when passed to him with a look he sometimes gets when trying to puzzle out one of the traps Eddie's set in a campaign. “You’re right though, it’s weird. I never would’ve guessed blackmail because he didn’t even seem, like, mad.”
Eddie pounces on that, nodding hard. “Yeah, exactly! You know, he never even asked why I wasn’t worried that he’d tell people about me? I had an answer all lined up too, I was going to be all—” he drops into one of his villain character voices, low and gravelly— “Everyone knows I’m a freak already, they don’t need confirmation. You, on the other hand, are prime real estate for the gossip mill to go to town on.”
Jeff smirks. “Well, that’s true. But you’re only threatening to tell his girlfriend, right?” When Eddie nods again, he simply shrugs. “So, maybe he’s not worried that she’ll spread it around. I know Buckley from band class, she’s decent. Could explain why he’s so relaxed about the whole thing.”
“But then why is he paying?” Eddie wails, getting both arms in on the question.
“No idea. Maybe all that hair is weighing down on his brain.”
“Fuck off,” Eddie grumbles, but he doesn’t mind. It's a relief to tell someone, even though he's still not sure how to feel about the whole mess.

:D yay!!! I love your Newsies stuff sm (and yes you absolutely should rewatch its amazing). If you have time could you maybe write a Race x fem!reader where she's like Spot's second command and kinda like the "mum" of the Brooklyn kids - they go to her for like comfort and when they have injuries or have problems etc. And she's kinda reserved and such but became friends with Race from when he'd spend time in Brooklyn, and after the strike (during like KONY I guess) he goes to find her to ask for her help like getting everyone fixed up and the like, and at some point from there onwards it's like FEELINGS yknow? No worries if not! Only if you're inspired and have time and such :) I love your writing - you're so v talented xx
grateful for your support in my rewatching newsies agenda. anything for you anon xoxo

There’s a newsie from Manhattan wandering your streets again. He’s not supposed to be crossing over into Brooklyn like this, none of them are, but for some reason that hasn’t stopped Race Higgins from showing up time and time again.
It’s not like this should really matter. Shouldn’t, anyway. Brooklyn is messy and getting messier. One particularly plucky Manhattan boy shouldn’t have an impact on what you’re doing on a day to day basis. Spot’ll do some nonsense involving a good threat or two to scare the guy off. This sort of thing happens once a month, but Brooklyn always ends up on top. Always.
That hasn’t seemed to sway Race, though. Last time he tried this, one of the other Brooklyn generals was in a fighting mood and nearly left the blond with a black eye had you not stepped in and put a stop to the scuffle before it started. No one needed any more trouble when you’ve already got so much as is, or so you claimed.
Truth be told, you’re not really sure why you helped Race out. It’s not like you’ve got any particular fondness for the guy, he keeps bothering you whenever he sneaks over the turf boundaries. It’s like he has a sixth sense for figuring out where you are whenever you’re selling papes. Even when you tell him to bug off and leave you alone, he’ll just start selling half a block down from you, or right across the street. Just close enough that you can see the trademark grin on his face when you roll your eyes and do your best to ignore him.
At the end of the day, it’s not something that should be the pull of too much of your attention. It’s Race, for goodness’ sake, not a rogue Delancey brother or someone who could actually cause you grief. Race just wants to make you laugh, which is weird of him to do but not actually dangerous.
Dangerous is the rest of Brooklyn. Dangerous is what waits for Race when he’s not halfway in your shadow. Dangerous is what made you Spot Conlon’s second in command when there were so many other newsies vying for the title. You know dangerous, and you know how to handle it, how to keep your boys safe. That’s what you should be focusing on the most, not errant Manhattan newsboys who keep getting alarmingly close to making you crack a smile.
But. Well. It is easier to think of boys than trouble. Boys try to make you laugh, for the most part. They don’t come back under the cover of the dead of night, bloody and trembling, talking to you about cops and thugs busting up strikes, about workers from the Refuge who want to brazenly take kids off the street just so they can keep up their numbers. They didn’t always.
Then they did, and suddenly you weren’t quite so easy with your temper and gait anymore. Race was usually quick to a smile, a laugh, a joke. He’d offer you a cigar free of charge, then swear like a sailor at any other boy who tried to even look at his prized possession. You were different, he didn’t want to trouble you.
So he said. Didn’t stop him from hanging outside your window until you climbed onto your fire escape just to get him to stop throwing pebbles at the dusty glass. You might have spent more than an hour outside that night, and the next one, and the next, but it was only so he’d let the others rest. You falling asleep on his shoulder at least once, then waking to find his jacket wrapped around your shoulders, was pure coincidence.
Race was always carefree. It was his job, you think, his role to play amongst the Manhattan newsies, just as yours was to keep track of your Brooklyn kids. Race used to tease you relentlessly about how the Brooklyn newspaper distribution system would completely grind to a standstill if you so much as got a cold.
It wasn’t entirely a joke, it was true. Race knew it. The two of you could hardly talk for longer than ten minutes before a boy or twelve would come up to you, asking for help on something else. He saw how long you faked your smiles just for the happy expression to start fading into an exhausted sigh whenever no one was around but him. You liked your position in the newsie ranks, truly you did, but it drained everything from you.
Sometimes it felt like it was just you and Spot fighting a losing war trying to keep all of your boys out of trouble. You teach them to be tough and loud and unapproachable, but it will never be enough? How could it be, in this city? Race tells his jokes and you laugh and you try not to pretend that everything is falling to ribbons. At least then you could marvel at the colors.
Still. Race stayed. Longer than you expected, in all honesty. You kept waiting for him to have his fun and leave you to your city that never sleeps, but he came around and it felt more natural by the day. Instead of being surprised that he showed up, you started feeling confused if a week went by without you seeing him.
And, when two newsies come to Brooklyn from Manhattan talking about a strike, and neither one of them is Race but both of them need your help anyway, you listen. More than Spot, at least. Spot gets wind of trouble and he shuts down their plea in an instant. Despite the fact that you think this is the best chance any of you will have to change something around here, Spot can’t risk his guys.
You never know when someone will back out without telling you, he tells you later, and then all of you would be stuck out there on the front lines without backup. The ace without the sleeve up which to hide. Brooklyn kids are tough, and they wouldn’t run, but who knows a damn thing about anyone else?
It made you want to scream and cry and run out there anyway, just to prove a point. You heard how the strike went later, how no one showed up except the Manhattan boys because no other borough would come without Brooklyn’s express approval. You catch whispers and threads of the story, but you don’t learn the whole thing until Race shows up.
He’s alone this time, beaten and bruised. You flinch when you see him, even though he’s not swinging. The look in his eyes, though– that’s enough to leave you bloody.
Race puts a hand on your shoulder. The knuckles are bruised, and you try not to notice the spatterings of skin already turning a mottled purple and green. “It’s not your fault. Jackie boy told me you tried to convince Spot to join us.”
You frown, look away. “You got hurt and we could have done something. That sounds an awful lot like I failed.”
Race shakes his head, puts a hand on your cheek so you have to look at him again. “I’m not here for that. This isn’t your fault, it’s his. Pulitzer’s. Him and those damn thugs. Not you.”
You nod slowly. It’ll take some time before you’re able to absolve yourself of the guilt, but you can try. “Let me get my first aid kit, I’ll come back with you, try to patch some of the kids up. Can I assume that a lot of them are worse than you?”
Race’s expression drops. “Yeah. The thugs came hitting pretty hard.”
“Well,” you say in an attempt to cheer him up, “I’d wager it’s because they knew your lot were the toughest around.”
Race cracks a smile, even though you’re sure it must be painful. “Oh, absolutely. I’d topple a building with a single punch.”
You can’t help but cast another worried look towards his hands. Damaged, bruised, and they had tipped his cap towards you just a morning or two ago. Race always liked to playact a gentleman when you were around. As if any of you have money or morals to spare. The only mansion you’ve got is the wide sky above you, the expensive habits of running too fast on green grass. Your gold is a rusty coin or two, your finery hand-me-down clothes. Your mockery of manners is the closest you’ll get to that sort of lifestyle, but it was always fun to fake it, anyway.
“No more punches,” you tell him. “I’m serious.”
“So am I,” Race retorts, “we’ve got to be out there again tomorrow for the strike. We’se not giving up so easily.”
The thought makes your stomach twist. Race, back out there, ready to get dealt another blow. Maybe this time he won’t be able to pick himself up so easily. Maybe this time he won’t be able to pick himself up at all.
No. You won’t let it happen. This is still your city, damn it, and you have not spent all these years sweating out your sunrises and sunsets to keep it informed just for the last bits of your control to be ripped out from between your desperate fingers.
“You won’t be alone tomorrow,” you decide, “I’ll get Spot to join you.”
Race frowns. “Jack and Davey tried that already, I thought. He said no. Isn’t Spot a dead end at this point? Unless there’s something else you know to change his mind.”
You sigh. “You’re not wrong. I talked to him, though, after your boys left yesterday. I tried. As much as anyone can try to talk to Spot, y’know. I’ll try again, though. The choice he made was–” There are a lot of words you could attribute to Spot’s decision to stay out of the strike. Stupid. Pointless. Backstabbing. You end up saying something a little more polite. “Not what I agreed with, to say the least.”
Race’s lips quirk up in a half smile. “Glad to hear it. I always liked it best when you were on our side.”
You snort. “I’se a Brooklyn newsie, remember? I don’t think we was ever on the same side.”
Race shrugs. “Maybe not in a turf war, but other times we got along just fine.”
You feel your cheeks heat up. “I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Race grins, leans a little closer to you. It feels like your whole world is tunneling– you can look at his eyes or his lips, but not both, and it’s enough to make you dizzy. “The last month or two, I swear you almost liked me. Sure, you’re a tough girl if anyone asks, but I know what I know.”
“And what do you know?” You ask carefully. It takes every fiber of focus in your being to keep breathing, chasing every word he says like a high price headline.
Race tilts his head to the side, considering this. Considering you. “I know that you’ve been hanging around me more and more. I know that you aren’t trying to run anymore. I know that no Brooklyn newsie sticks their neck out for someone from ‘Hattan unless they’ve got a pretty good reason. Most importantly, I know that I want to kiss you, but only if you want that too. Do you?”
He’s so close to you now, practically a breath away. Just enough room for you to run if you wanted to, but also for you to do something else, something you’ve been thinking about even when you swore you wouldn’t.
“I do,” you breathe, and that’s all Race needs to lean forward and kiss you at last. He tastes like blood and foolish hope and promises you know he’ll always keep. It’s a damn good mix, enough to make you kiss him again when he starts to break away.
This is how you keep him safe, then. You love him too much and you convince Spot to lend Brooklyn’s support by hook or by crook. You defend the strike and you defend your boy. There are a hundred reasons this could all go wrong, but thousands, thousands more, that all shout for you to keep going.
Well, you’ve always liked a little bit of danger. Race is good trouble, and you are well inclined to keep him.

For character ask game—I feel like I always ask you about either rodimus or tarantulas so I’m going in a completely different direction. Tell me about Optimus Prime
we will continue the streak and do IDW Optimus!
one aspect about them i love: I like the way Barber handles Optimus as someone who finds out there is no way to idealize yourself, that is, to make yourself into an ideal, and then go back to being a just a person. There's something really compelling about the way that Optimus post-war tries first to abdicate the legacy he helped create to win the war and then tries to make it into something else that can exist during peacetime and just... fails. He made himself too remote and now he has no way back. He made himself too central and now if he leaves things collapse in his wake because nature abhors a vaccum. It's really interesting.
one aspect i wish more people understood about them: this is kind of in a metatextual sense, but. People who in IDW have mostly read MTMTE/LL often assume that in phase two, Optimus is shown in this uniformly positive light by the narrative. And he's just not by Barber! When he makes very bad decisions in those comics, you are supposed to see the downward spiral. There's an arc called 'All Hail Optimus', it's not even subtle.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: This is a completely baseless one that I don't even know why I believe so strongly: Optimus guessed- had a suspicion deep down that he tried not to look at- that Prowl, not the Decepticons, bombed Carpessa. Optimus understood how Megatron conducted himself and his army well enough to recognise that doing it would have been an uncharacteristically stupid decision at that point in the war (demoralizing to people on the fence about which side to join, strategically not useful, likely to be useful to the Autobots for propaganda purposes) but. He really needed Prowl not to have gone behind his back and have done it; he needed to not lose a key member of his command at a delicate point in the war. So he persuaded himself he was being ridiculous, and that set off a chain reaction of sunk cost fallacy reasoning which is a part of why Prowl avoided suspicion of wrongdoing outside his remit for so long. Because acknowledging anything else meant admitting that he had always been willing to overlook an obvious, truly egregious crime for the sake of keeping a useful resource he didn't want to give up.
one character i love seeing them interact with: I really, really love all the stuff with him and Shockwave. I still find it amazing how Shadowplay sells me on that relationship so quickly and in so little time, so that everything which comes after is convincingly tragic. And it is! God, it's so tragic. And yet also really. Fucked up? Hey remember when Senator Shockwave had someone perform unknowing surgery on Optimus so he could be a candidate to carry the matrix. WILD. There's this weird power dynamic at play there I find SO fascinating.
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more: I wish we'd seen more one-on-one stuff between him and Arcee. She's a character uniquely suited to see through the Prime bullshit as someone from a time before all of that becoming entrenched in their society, and also able to bring a perspective to the ways that Cybertronian society's problems well pre-date his experience. And he's someone trying to work out how to stop the cycle they're all stuck in repeating yet again during peacetime, which mirrors Arcee's personal arc. Also she can mock him for acting like he's sooo old or whatever like. You Are A Baby To Me. I think she would puncture him in a way that he would actually appreciate. She's one of the only people in a position to see him as not much more than just a guy in charge.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character: I don't think Optimus likes Rodimus. And I think a lot of that is that he recognizes he fucked up with Rodimus, at Nyon, in a way he has no real way to... do anything about, or even acknowledge now it's been so long. So he can't even truly get pissed when Rodimus fucks something up, because a little part of him is like. Hm. Well. He is, on the whole, partly my fault, isn't he. Which is frustrating, because he can't fix it, and he can't lash out about it without that niggling thought, and in the meantime Rodimus is just constantly there being kind of weird about him and causing problems. And so all that's left is to translate that situation into a kind of diffuse discomfort he grits his teeth and bears. Also, Rodimus is one of the only people willing to call him out on his weird Megatron hangups, which is infuriating because Optimus tries really hard to ignore that he has any.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, or how 101 I should get with this (please forgive me in advance if this is stuff you already know), but some things that make me absolutely feral about Peterick are:
*Patrick originally auditioned to be the band's drummer, but after hearing Patrick sing for the first time, Pete immediately shut that idea down and made him the singer. Patrick sees himself as a composer before anything else, and he only sings because Pete saw his talent, and needed someone to help share his words.
* Patrick suffered from intense stage fright early on, and so Pete gave him a knit hat (the one you see on the "Take This To Your Grave" cover) to wear as a security blanket, and cover his eyes; As we all know, hats have been a part of Patrick's stage wardrobe ever since! Patrick's stage fright is also the reason why Pete does most of the talking onstage. Patrick has said both of them have qualities the other lacks, and so they essentially make up one person in the group.
* And let's not forget their whole writing dynamic! Since "Take This To Your Grave", Pete basically gives his diary entries to Patrick in the form of poetry, full of all his pain and joy, and Patrick is in charge of turning those words into music. Essentially, they're always writing for each other!
* Naturally, more than a few of the lyrics Pete writes are about Patrick himself. Most of it is conjecture, of course, as Pete rarely says exactly who his words are about, but two of the times Pete has broken that rule, has been to say that he had Patrick in mind: "What A Catch, Donnie", which he wrote to remind Patrick how incredible he is (this was their last single before they went on indefinite hiatus, which makes me cry all the time!), and the line "I am half-doomed, and you're semi-sweet" from "Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes" (On Genius, Pete said "This can be anyone you feel that close to. Sometimes it's a girl, but honestly sometimes it was Patrick")
* There were two times in the band's history, where their future was uncertain: When they went on hiatus after "Folie A Deux," due to infighting, and the Pandemic, when everyone was in lockdown and Pete wasn't sure if he wanted to return to the studio. After "Folie", Patrick made a solo album called Soul Punk, but was heartbroken when it didn't sell well, and fans just kept comparing it to FOB. Pete reached out to him after an incredibly painful blog post he wrote then later took down, and said "You know what you need? You need your band", which is what brought about their glorious surprise return in 2013, and the album "Save Rock and Roll". Patrick returned the favor almost a decade later, when COVID made Pete afraid to leave his house. Patrick knew that if he was excited about writing new music, Pete would be too, and so he started working on what would be "So Much (For) Stardust". Patrick was right, and they started writing together again, for their first album in 4 years. The rest, as they say, is history...
I could honestly go on forever, but these two are living proof soul mates exist, and I will never stop being emotional about them!

The Yiga Clan read to me as a group of people who, at one point, had legitimate grievances against Hyrule, but over the century of them... Basically winning? Like age of calamity be damned they didn't actually canonically have much of a role in the Calamity, but. The guy they were rooting for won, so that's something. And in the century that passed since their guy won, they came under the control of an underqualified nepo baby and became the banana loving fools we know and love today.
Like everyone always talks about "addressing the problems with Hyrule" in botwtotk and I understand why some folks would prefer a dark and edgy completely serious Yiga Clan that addresses those things, but you know what character actually fucking does something about Hyrules government sucking ass? Zelda. Zelda and Link are our focal characters for addressing Hyrule's bullshit and for some reason that doesn't seem to... Count. Which is weird, because where else is this criticism supposed to come from? She's one of the only people left who fucking remembers it, the central government of Hyrule hasn't existed for a century, not even the Hylians really give a shit about it in game! The Sheikah are chilling in their village, the only other race that regularly interacts with Hylians at all are the Gerudo, and the Gerudo are very much in charge of that interaction since they still have their government. The Zora and the Gorons interact with Hylians so infrequently they often forget basic human anatomy and while the Rito are a bit better in that regard, Revali is our focal point for Rito opinions on Hylians so that's covered.
Like the Yiga Clan dont have a Hylian government to oppose in botw! Why would they stop and talk about how shitty it is? It's gone! It doesn't exist! It hasn't existed for a hundred years! They fucking won! They have their status quo in botw and are fighting to keep that status quo. And in totk they're... Building robots that Ganondorf doesn't want BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY they're specifically on a revenge quest to get Links ass and they're trying to get back into the swing of things with the whole "oh wait our guy might... Lose" thing and now that they're getting serious they're much more formidable opponents! But even then, whe one could argue that they have more of a Hylian government to oppose in totk, a) you'd have to argue that what Zelda is doing is establishing a central government at all and not just managing shipping logistics and supervising archaeological digs between sidequests, b) totk practically drills it into our heads that everyone loves Zelda to the point where Ganondorf has to disguise himself as her to get anything done because Zelda's whole thing is not subjecting anyone else to the bullshit she went through. Like six of the seven major people groups in Hyrule actively support Zelda's "y'all do whatever" style of monarchy, if it can even be called monarchy because let's face it, Zelda is only the princess because her pronouns are "the princess," Dr who style. And finally c) botw and totk both establish that Zelda is fucking chill with tech so aside from the "killing her" part the original fucking issue that caused the Yiga Clan to split off from the Sheikah is solved with Zelda in charge anyway.
I dunno, I think that, while fun and therefore the correct choice, Kohga's inclusion in Age of Calamity cheapened the Yiga in a lot of people's minds because they can't recognize a story choice to ignore basic logic that was made in service of including a fan favorite character in a game where the selling point is you get to play as your favorite characters. Like, like no we see people who were alive during the Calamity and barring Purah's laser induced lolita bullshit they're all old as fuck, I'm sorry but Kohga was not in charge of the Yiga Clan pre-calamity, the ruthless Yiga Clan assassins who almost took out Zelda in that one cutscene are not the same Yiga Clan that we encounter in the actual botw gameplay they are a century removed from the source of their sociopolitical motivations
The Yiga Clan aren't vessels through which to critique the Hylian government, Zelda does that just fine, and I think while it's fun to explore what that would've looked like it distracts from what they actually are.
The Yiga Clan are a death cult that got what they wanted, and I think that's way more interesting.

A Local Habitation Re-Read: Part 7
Hello again! Here's part 7.
Chapter Twenty-Eight:
It really is creepy thinking about April luring people out so Gordan could try to digitize them.
Chapter Twenty-Nine:
April's room being decorated so childishly makes everything soooo much worse.
"Damn. Just once, can't the villains look suitably villainous?" Give it a couple months Toby! You'll meet one soon enough.
I still think Jan's plan was to essentially put Faerie in the Metaverse. What would happen if the servers broke down? April had like a million failsafes and she still ran the risk of being turned off permanently if the power failed. I feel like, beyond the near impossibility of the task, there were a lot of issues everyone at ALH failed to consider.
The person in charge of the knowe being completely against you is a really scary thought.
Chapter Thirty:
'"Perhaps he'll stay dead this time," he said, nonchalantly. "Tybalt, I snapped. He gave me a look, as if to say 'what?' then began studying his nails.' I know that look. If he was my mom's cat he would've rolled on the floor to show how totally nonchalant he was feeling about the situation, which is maybe not as dignified as Tybalt was going for but would've gotten the feeling across the same.
I didn't think that Barbara was a very good Queen of Cats, but she might've been a *slightly* better one than I gave her credit for. Elliot said that Barbara was upset that the cats kept dying; if she wanted the testing to stop and ALH decided to keep going, that might explain why she decided to sell them out to Riordan. Which doesn't actually help the cats under her care, but it does explain why she'd 'bend at the knee' to a child of Titania.
Chapter Thirty-One:
Toby keeps saying that she's super paranoid about everything; if anything I think she's not paranoid enough.
'I was starting to see the blood trail on the floor, marking out the way in blotches and streaks. Only half of it was real blood. The rest was potential blood, ghost-blood, made visible by the magic I inherited from my mother.' I don't think that Toby's ever tracked someone through potential blood trails after this? I'm not sure if that's because everyone she tracks after this is bleeding enough she doesn't need almost blood, or because tracking people through their magic is more reliable.
"We go now, because there's no time left. Tybalt, can you-" "I'll guard him. I should be able to coax him back to human form." Tybalt really does understand what Toby needs. He knows that she needs to go save Quentin, someone who's her responsibility, and he knows she'll be able to focus on doing that if she's not also worrying about Connor.
Elliot's soapy tidal wave is actually pretty cool. I love the way that people stretch their magic to do things they technically shouldn't be able to do.
Chapter Thirty-Two:
If Gordan was always planning on experimenting/murdering Toby, why didn't she do it sooner to stop her from investigating? Or was there too big a risk that that would spook Jan into sending someone to bring Sylvester to Tamed Lightning?
Oh man, Gordan, if you think some type of hierarchy wouldn't be established in the digital world, then you don't know people very well.
Gordan makes me wish we got more changeling characters. I feel like we don't get a ton of them, and it seems like they tend to be unsympathetic characters instead of characters who have a lot of reasons to be bitter (but still don't default to murdering people).
'Then, quietly, [April] asked, "For right now, until they come and take Gordan's hardware... can we pretend that you'll take care of me?"' Oh nooooooooooo. Trust me, April, if it was even slightly possible, Toby definitely would've taken care of you.
I feel like this book was Toby's biggest failure professionally. One Salt Sea was probably her biggest failure personally, but she stopped a war from happening and rescued a kidnapped child then. In this book, only 2 out of 7 people actually survived (although to be fair, she did get to bring most of them back later).
Chapter Thirty-Three:
I know Tybalt stayed behind to avoid Toby until he could process what he'd learned about her (and to take care of the cats), but I'm still glad that April wasn't left alone with the dead. (Actually has anyone written that fic? Now that I'm thinking about it, Tybalt could probably give April a lot of advice on running her fiefdom and how to look after her people)
I wonder if Jin has a running tally of all of the ridiculous injuries she's had to heal when Toby gets involved. Maybe the healers have bingo cards and they win a prize if theirs gets filled up.
'No one knows exactly when Amandine went crazy; she collapsed a few years after I vanished, moving into an internal world far stranger than the Summerlands. She doesn't spend much time in the tower anymore. Most reports place her wandering endlessly through forests and standing, motionless, at crossroads. I wish I knew what she was looking for.' I remember feeling sorry for Amandine the first time I read this part, and hoping that Toby would eventually get her mother back. I no longer feel this way. I guess losing another daughter (and potentially her only chance at getting her other daughter back) is what caused her to snap. Also, I'm not sure if this is the intended association but 'wandering endlessly through forests and standing, motionless, at crossroads' is making me thinking of Tam Lin/Janet breaking the Ride.
"And Toby... he's not angry. You did the best you could. Both of you." This might be the last time we see Luna and Toby's relationship be uncomplicated/good. The next time we see them after this scene is when Luna's sending Toby to die for her.
That's it for A Local Habitation! I'm excited to get into An Artificial Night; this was the book that really pulled me into the series. See you next time!

Buffalo Bills Win Down the Line
We were already sick of the Chiefs before they missed their nap.  Buffalo’s second home is the first place for measuring present regular season status.  The best way to cope with knowing hotel staffers by name is to drive competitors to tears.  In the case of the bratty opposition leader, it’s not figurative.  A tradition that occurs more frequently than annually doesn’t always inspire as much dread as seeing your family on Thanksgiving then Christmas.
I hope your toddler goes right to sleep tonight instead of Mahomesing.  Babies ask you not to compare them to him.  The lousy actor and occasional quarterback took a break from selling disgusting sandwiches and ironically racist rioting to show who he really is, namely an insufferable brat who failed a test of character.
The face of the league threw a fit over an indisputable penalty, which is fitting in its way.  The professional shrieker made a repulsed face like he tasted Subway for the first time.  I’m sure he would have remained calm if sacked by a defender who was that offside.  The greatest injustice Jerk from State Farm has ever withstood was his idiotic teammate getting correctly flagged for not knowing where he’s allowed to stand relative to the ball.
You can see what play he’s trying to execute if you just watch.  Mahomes tipped off the call with the all-time irrational postgame excuse about wanting to “see the guys on the field decide the game.”  Permitting certain players to gain an advantage is the opposite of letting them decide it.  There are rules to prevent that, which dismays players who are used to being exempt from them.
The illicit misalignment affected the play no matter how tangentially.  Lining up in Kansas instead of Missouri creates an unfair advantage either directly or though a prohibited maneuver teams must divert resources to stop.  Not calling fouls leads to Battle Royale-style mayhem.  Even if you’d prefer the game to be played in a more lawless manner, it’s against present rules.
When will the poor Kansas City Chiefs catch a break?  We’ve never seen a call go their way.  Andy Reid threw a fit like a cheeseburger’s out of reach because the officials didn’t help him for once.  He should have felt embarrassed that his receiver doesn’t know how lines work instead of fuming at officials for not giving him a warning that he should stop breaking rules lest they finally have to call it.
Why didn’t they show the Pfizer shill’s boy toy after his teammate ruined his overhand lateral?  The best part of incessant luxury box shots showing the porcelain embodiment of bafflingly popular irksome tone-deafness is that you can’t hear her.  Thanks to dating Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift finally has an ass.
A game we’ll, um, never forget was what the coach needed as much as we did.  The Bills won even after the apprehension of flying on the same plane as Khalid Sean McDermott.  Life can be complex, as seen by how it’s possible to both think he’s a weirdo who should factor good and evil into his comparisons about team play and that the lame ancient story from a disgruntled fringe reporter was timed as suspiciously as possible.  Sports are tricky for emotions and other things.
Football is a nice break from nothing.  That icky bye featured disturbing news as a distraction from the ghastly void.  You have to phrase your wish to the genie so carefully that it’s not worth summoning him.  There may be a life lesson.
Kingsley Jonathan deserved to play just based on performance.  The player he should have replaced should spend some time off for multiple reasons.  Unlike the legal process, we know how Von Miller plays out.  It turns out there is a town where he can get arrested.  After another game where he had zero statistical impact, we await details on an accusation worse than stealing from the Bills.
Disturbing charges may or may not reflect what happened.  That covers all of it.  But it’s crucial to withhold judgment despite the temptation to reach conclusions based on details that lack the detail of verification.  Miller could have committed what’s alleged, in which case he can shove off and rot.  But wait to see if the accounts match.  Some haven’t learned from ruining Matt Araiza’s life that treating a police report as a biblical proclamation is blasphemous.  Like waiting to see how the season unfolds, it’s imperative to wait for evidence.  Fans may as well buy a Super Bowl trip package on the grounds that Miller will lead the Bills there.
McDermott can claim he was hijacked into making the baffling decision at half’s end.  Why try a long field goal that might miss?  It’s apparently better to heave a pass that’s destined to be knocked down.  An effective strategy to end the game was nice on its own.  It would’ve been even nicer to have made wiser earlier decisions that could’ve widened the lead.
Josh Allen mauled it in.  The football star’s helmeted rugby technique makes the fact the new taxpayer-funded stadium won’t be hosting any 2031 World Cup matches even more dismaying.  How about a throw for balance?  Improvising an unbelievable completion on what seemed like a play that was destined to be disastrous shows he deserves the faith Bills fans place in him.  A moment teetering toward doom for which this franchise is renowned illustrates his remarkable capacity to alter outlooks.
There are better ways to avoid getting too excited than an interception at the worst time.  It’s not that there’s a good time.  But trying to top the reigning champions was already challenging enough without an unfortunate read.  Every story about Allen overcoming coaching screwups must be qualified by his scheduled awful decision which keeps foes in games.  Giving him credit for a Chiefs touchdown is just to motivate the end to that one lousy choice per outing.
An eventful week off shows why dullness can be preferable.  Outbursts are fun as along as they’re by quarterbacks we don’t have to validate.  Winning in a rather challenging environment while adhering to rules outrages the right people.  Lines don’t bend any more than rules regarding them.

14 Cartoons About fake bags That'll Brighten Your Day
I am sure many of us have heard of pretend luggage, as well as obtained them right before. Fake bags are an enormous issue in the present style planet. These are built to glance specifically like designer bags so It is not easy to inform which is which. It is this kind of bummer that individuals would even stoop so small and build these faux luggage, which not only undoubtedly are a rip off to designer makes but also, are minimal good quality.
After i noticed my Buddy that has a designer-hunting bag, I was so envious and wanted to get a person myself. Till I found out that it absolutely was a faux, and I almost fainted! I used to be so mad, knowing that she experienced possibly been jipped of her cash. To help make matters even worse, the bag wasn't even perfectly-created nor did it look nearly as good as the true factor. Several days later the strap broke and that is when she realized it absolutely was a phony!
The worst part was that the bag experienced Charge her a lot of cash. It wasn't cheap, nevertheless the standard was terrrible. It was distressing to look at a pal louis vuitton outlet working experience this kind of loss. I signify, who genuinely benefits from these phony baggage? Totally no one. And It truly is not simply the large names that bogus baggage hurt, but in addition smaller enterprises who craft authentic bags and possess to compete with fake baggage.
I have come across a whole lot of individuals that acquire these fake bags because they Believe they're able to just 'get absent with it'. They could get absent with it for some time, but it's a issue of your time in advance of they notice the real cost of a pretend bag. It is a waste of money and time. Not to mention, the morality situation. It is common understanding that buying fake baggage is illegal, and however people today continue to keep shopping for them, regardless.
Having said that, in the event you find yourself in the necessity to get a designer-searching bag, there are options like 'classic retailers' or simply branded outlet merchants. These merchants have incredible baggage that should seem terrific and previous longer than a daily phony bag. Naturally, it's going to Charge more than a phony, but quality under no circumstances comes low cost.
Not to mention, the faux baggage never normally Exhibit the basic characteristics that genuine baggage do. Particulars like hardware, lining materials, stitching, stamp of authenticity plus more, are lacking in bogus luggage. Conversely, the original designer baggage have an added amount of sophistication which the pretend bags, Unfortunately, will not have.
A different issue Using these pretend baggage is that they're generally built with counterfeit products like leather, which are not only harmful but additionally degrade easily. They do not past very long and crack apart, which, in turn, impacts the quality of the bag.
Additionally, bogus bags commonly deficiency authorized warranties that include legitimate brands. That means, even should they problems unintentionally, it is possible to never ever get it set with the assistance in the designer's label. That is why it's superior to pay for somewhat extra than Have got a bag that can certainly stop working.
Last but not least, the smell of pretend baggage is almost always adequate to identify them from the true deal. Pretend luggage have an disagreeable oder to them due to the fakes components they are built with. That's why it is vital to examine the smell on the bag when producing a buy, to ensure that you're not staying tricked.
I recall buying and selling in my laptop for the money required to buy my to start with replica bag. I couldn’t think that this desire of getting a designer handbag was last but not least close by. And when it arrived, I felt like I used to be in heaven! It had all the things - stunning leather, a fragile strap and a brilliant lining that matched the color of my gown. I felt like a star.
It had been the ideal size for my on-the-go Way of life. Every time I was out and about, I could easily slip it around my arm, have all my Necessities, and even now look elegant. I could also fit in all my knick-knacks and even more which designed it the best companion for weekend visits and finding close to town.
The best part of owning a replica bag was that it was far more cost-effective than a designer model. Don’t get me Erroneous…I nevertheless like designer makes, but the worth tag just doesn’t often fit in my funds. With reproduction baggage, I used to be in a position to help you save a ton of cash and however get an excellent looking bag.
Regardless of each of the superb capabilities of the replica bag, there was a single down side - the durability. I anticipated the bag to final me for awhile, but following about six months of applying it, the material began to stop working. The bag just didn’t hold up in certain weather conditions. This wasn’t a giant deal for me as I just replaced the bag with a more recent a person, but this could possibly be really worth contemplating for the people trying to find a additional extended-Long lasting accessory.
The bottom line is, for those who’re trying to find a trendy and very affordable bag that’ll enable you to glimpse place-collectively, a replica bag is a great way to go. From my expertise, I can express that it’s absolutely worth the revenue you’ll be paying out.
I've also utilized a number of other replicas - including a Kate Spade impressed reproduction. I assumed this was a very terrific purchase since it gave me the texture of a designer bag without the need of breaking the bank. I acquired many compliments for it, and it felt like it was just the correct measurement. Additionally, it experienced sufficient depth to really make it glimpse incredibly exclusive.
I've also tried out a Gucci influenced replica which was produced from significant-excellent materials and a more intricate style and design. It had been Definitely breathtaking, even so, the element was a little bit an excessive amount And that i felt like it was too extravagant for every day dress in. I'd personally typically save it for Unique instances or evenings out.
Yet another fantastic replica I tried out was a Michael Kors impressed bag. This was some thing I attained for Every time I needed to appear elegant although not extremely dressy. It absolutely was ideal for Distinctive instances, however still informal with its minimalistic style and design. I did locate the straps a little limited for me, but nothing at all much too bothersome.
My experience with replica baggage has been positive Total. I come across them to become a terrific way to get designer seems without having sacrificing a ton of money. I really like that I get to express my private type by way of the selection of duplicate bags I possess. Now and again I like to replace them for anything different, as they usually previous me about 6 months just before breaking down.
However, I do know that not Anyone feels the identical way about replica bags. Lots of people feel that they’re not worth the income, Which designer baggage are exceptional in terms of top quality and magnificence. I'm able to surely respect that viewpoint. What I do know is the fact that, for me, reproduction baggage are actually an unbelievable approach to discover many different variations without breaking the financial institution.
The moral of the story is It can be just not worth it buying fake baggage. You can find too many pitfalls associated and the standard is normally not worthwhile. The initial high-quality designer baggage have colonial insurance policy, warranties, excellent design as well as much better material. Shelling out just a little more will warranty you the quality and pleasure of owning a genuine bag. Apart from, It is illegal, and from the ethical code. Do not be fooled into buying a bogus!

steph likes to think the system they got on the rare occasion they run into… conflicts. as much as she did not love where they came from, in tandem with pete’s talents, she finds that they mange to handle things quickly and with a certain skill. it had her getting in close- something that she hated and loved in part. steph liked being up close, she liked to see who she was against, she likes to be the one to handle things to make sure pete did not get hurt, she loves the challenge and the thrill, but of course, no sell sword or mercenary ( is that what she is? is she a mercenary? holy fucking shit ) likes to get into fights, but hurting people, even hurting the monsters... it sent a shiver up her spine when she sat in thought with what she is doing versus what she knows what her father did, likely is doing now. it's a reminder of what she will have to do to go home--- in the heat of it most of the time it is easy enough to forget in the heat of things. today? not so much.
it looked like a simple enough encounter, it was at the beginning. this group of five bandits would not fuck off when steph tried to scare them off with threats, they only charged. steph hadn't hesitated to dive in and defend. all went as it always did, a dagger alight with strange pink energy, firing the occasional spell if anyone get's out of her melee range- and these fuckers were more than expected hence, she's using more of her gift than usual--- maybe that's why it suddenly feels as though the power she is drawing on is dimming and slowly loosing control all together, something that had never happened to her before. the sudden stark numbness that slowly turns to pain, though is not.
mental she is swearing in her head, trying to maintain some sort of composure, to try and come back into herself as it feels like the world spins. what makes her come to, however, is different, startling. steph sobering briefly at the stark pain in her stomach, looking across to see that one of the bandits had gotten a stab on her with their sword. steph was quick to strike back in turn, despite the world spinning, slashing out with her knife and pushing back in turn, stumbling back a little bit as she tried to fight the sort of draining feeling that starts to ache and make the world all but throb around her.
for a second it's all a blur, but she's pushing on, mostly just trying to get to pete, though her hand is outstretched to send blasts back to try and get the last few in the process. nothing is clear, though, other than the feeling of pete's hands on her cheek, confirmation enough that they are out in the clear. they are safe, steph trying to cling to the feeling of pete's hands as opposed to the sudden strain and anything else.
her face turns to rest in hands, not doing well to convince pete of her words, trying to fight the urge to rest one hand on his but instead she presses to open wound in her stomach, mostly trying to shield it from pete's glance, but also doing the one thing she knew to help. " - ' fine. " she shifts a bit, trying to move a little, not out of his hold, fuck, it feels warm and grounding, she does not want it to stop. " ' feel like i can see the thoughts in your head. don't... worry... i've had worse. " - which she is sure is far from comforting as well, the half-elf sighing a little, trying again. " just... gotta stop for a bit, patch this up. then we can keep going. " she has to be, and she is trying to say those words for pete's sake, yes, but also the god who she is sure is watching her now. a challenge she's posing but steph is nothing if not stubborn. tuly, though, she does not want pete to worry, free hand resting weakly over his

I am always willing to talk about the problems with electric vehicles. As someone who really doesn't like oil and really wants an alternative like... if anything that just makes me more critical which is how it should be
Obvious right off the bat stuff is how we generate our electricity, and until we aren't using gas and coal it's not really an improvement, just shuffling where the fossil fuel in the equation is (natural gas is damn filthy and anything they tell you is a lie trying to make it seem clean because it's not quite as filthy as stuff like coal)
Second, there's no doubt the tech isn't quite there yet. A lot of it is batteries. Like I personally don't really like lithium, I mean I don't like a lot of these minerals used in electronics because of the ecological damage getting them tends to do. But like, lithium batteries also just aren't really where we need them to be with stuff like charge times and also replacing batteries which brings me to...
The way all these ev companies are super anti right to repair so far. They'll fight people tooth and nail not to let them just replace a bad battery bank, they'll fight to not let them even replace a damaged port on a battery. There's so much stuff I can point to with this with a number of companies (though tesla is one of the worst). Hell, they're even discontinuing selling batteries for like 8 year old models, so even if you fork over the money tough luck you have a dead car which is oh so eco friendly to do to people
Plus they're damn expensive. They're expensive upfront, the batteries are expensive, the lack of right to repair drives the price up... what on earth is anyone supposed to do? It's still a luxury item no matter how much people say to just get one to save money on gas. No one can afford it, and the ev companies just keep driving up the costs with stuff like the lack of repairability
They're full of wonky tech and bad designs like the doors not opening if the battery dies or whatever junk. Kind of circling back to repair, heard a case where this person had a bad battery bank (which I guess you can only travel as far as the worst part of your battery), and tesla just basically pushed an update on him to remove the alert for that rather than deal with it despite him being under warranty. Like all the touchscreen stuff is half cocked and half the physical design seems borked
The craftmanship seems non existent. We've all seen that tictok of the lady pointing out all the uneven spacing on the trim and stuff right? It's a good video, real good points, and like these are expensive as hell and tesla's cutting all the corners and frankly I bet the others all are too
There's also the fact that as much as someone like me who lives in the middle of nowhere needs a car (unless they somehow reopened and added a stop at that closed train station in town, I'd be down), but like making buses electric or just making all the vehicles electric doesn't really address systemic issues with things like access to mass transit or all our logistical issues or... much of anything really
Yeah, I'd rather no more gas vehicles, but evs often feel like a bandaid for most problems that come with a high monetary cost and like... a lot of negative environmental impact getting the materials
So yeah... like I said, really for so many reasons including just hating how loud internal combustion engines are, I'd love evs to totally replace them but like... let's live in reality, even if we somehow could we shouldn't right now because it's all half baked
I like it, I want it, and that's why I can say it's nowhere good enough

*Btw Veruca Salt is a spoiled kid that gets everything she wants, from Charlie and the chocolate factory.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Your eyes glared down at the younger boy, towering over him to show dominance "S-sis, what're you doing?" Karl asked "Trying to scare you, is it working?" you leaned down and kept eye contact with the stammering boy "u-um not really.." he stuttered out "then why're you stuttering over your words? You're obviously intimidated." you placed your hands on your hips.
"Well why're you trying to intimidate me? I'm just trying to read this book!" he groaned "Because someone has to knock you down a peg, you think just because you're younger that you can get everything you want? Well not if I can help it!" you were furious by the boy.
"What're you on about? What've I done to you?" Karl asked worriedly "You've been asking for a whole lot this week, veruca salt!" you threw your arms in the air and started pacing around him and his chair "What? Like what?" Karl was utterly confused "You've been asking for non-stop rides to your friends houses, and you've been leaving your laundry around for mother to do!" you cross your arms.
"You're overreacting!" Karl complained "Oh I'm not done! You've also been taking money from mom's purse!" you called him out "What- how did you know about that??" Karl immediately became tense "Oh you look so stressed dear brother, just relax- don't worry... I'm not gonna tell her-" Karl sighed in relief "Oh thank god" and got cut off by you finishing your sentence "-If you promise to be a good brother and listen to what your stepsister says!" you finished.
"WHAT? No way! I'm telling mom and dad!" He began to stand up but you pushed him back down "Oh no no no, you're gonna tell them what? That you stole the $200 that mom presumed was stolen by a thief? You gonna explain that to her after she already called authorities and had someone sent to jail?" you spat venom at him.
"You're evil!" Karl shouted "Me? Evil? I'm not the thief here" you grinned mischievously "Although I could be- if you don't wanna have to do everything I say then just give me something precious you own" you held your hand out expectantly "What am I supposed to give you? My soul?" Karl questioned "If you can bare to part with it then yes" you gave a mean smile in response to his sarcasm.
"I have literally nothing!" Karl exclaimed "You have your phone" you suggested "Dad would kill me if he found out I'd given it away!" He shouted "he'd kill you if he found out about that money too" you reminded him "I- I could give you... I'll let you date one of my friends!" Karl smiled nervously as he hoped you'd agree "What friends? You're a nerd, no one would want to be friends with you" snickered.
"S-Sapnap! He's strong, he loves animals, he has big muscles!" Karl said "The brute with dark hair? He's cute but not my type" you yawned "U-m.. Quackity?" a bead of sweat dropped down his face "He's super cool, really funny!" Karl was starting to worry as he was already running out of friends to pair you with "No.. My type is nerdy boys that I can dominate, ones that get nervous a lot and stutter over their sentences" you hinted.
"Oh- like Wilbur? I'm not really his friend but I can try something!!" Karl wasn't getting the hint "No, I was thinking more specifically towards someone like you." you finally told him "M-me? But I'm your brother!" Karl was in disbelief "Step-brother. And I don't really like you, I just think that you're pitiful and if you're gonna be selling someone's body to me in exchange to keep your secrets safe than it may as well be yours." you explained.
"But- Well- I've never done that before!" he put his hands up defensively "Well obviously, who would want to touch a greasy nerd like you?" you sighed. "Well- No, that's wrong!" he shook his head "Well I'm not gonna make you, just give me something else then and I'll be on my way" you told him. Karl looked down at his feet for a moment as he mulled over what was happening and what decision he was gonna make.
Karl lifted his head and made eye contact with you "Okay." he replied "Okay what? Okay you're gonna give me something?" you asked "No- I mean- okay I'm gonna give you my body" he mumbled quietly "Gonna need to speak up, can't hear you over the sound of our parents crying over having such a disappointing child" you ridiculed him.
"I'll give you my body, damnit!" he yelled "hey- quiet down, our parents are only just down stairs!" you made him shut up. "Whatever" he leaned back in his chair and slumped down "Karl. You need to give me your full consent, you can't just go 'yea whatever' and expect me to be fine with that!" you furrowed your eyebrows "Why?? What- do you need me to beg you for it?!" he was getting aggravated.
"Actually yes, I do" you decided to torment him a little bit "Big sis, please please please fuck this desperate loser" he put his hands together to make a praying gesture as he mocked you "That's more like it, runt." you grabbed his chin and forced him to face you "We can stop at any time, if you choose not to speak up then that'll be your fault" you made sure he was fully aware that he had a say even though he wasn't in control.
"Thanks. Now- how do we?" Karl was now confused on what you were gonna do, and he was having some type of delusion that he was gonna be the one in charge dominating you. "I think I'm just gonna have some fun by jerking you off, is that okay bunny?" you teased "W-what do you mean you're gonna jerk me off?" Karl asked nervously "I'm gonna stroke your dick, never done that before?" you bullied him.
"N-no, never even thought about it.." his face became red and flushed, you slowly slid onto his lap and straddled his leg "No? You haven't? Are you lying to your big sister? That's not very nice you know, Mom always told me that you shouldn't lie (Unless it's to your dad) " Karl glanced away from you and tried to hide his face "Aw you can tell me the truth, I'm a good listener after all!" you encouraged him "I haven't.." he persisted.
"Well then let me introduce you to the pleasure that is being jerked off, slide your pants down" you instructed "What? Do I have to.." he was clearly embarrassed "No. I guess I could just palm you through your pants" you shrugged. Karl sighed in relief and let out a small breath, tilting his head back in the chair and waiting for you to do what you wanted.
Your hand dipped between his legs, your palm rubbing his growing bulge "H-Hey that feels weird" he told you "So what? You want me to stop?" he shut his mouth, encouraging you to keep palming him. "This would feel a lot better if you let your cock free, instead your trapping it in your tight pants and strangling it.." you frowned "F-fine.." Karl blushed as he slowly pulled his pants down.
You watched in delight as he released his penis "Oh is this what you were worried about?" you stared down at it "O-Oh god-" Karl felt humiliated and went to put it away but you stopped him "It's cute.. I wouldn't expect a nerd's penis to be big anyways" you told him. Karl's little cock twitched at your words, moving slightly on its own "oh. my. god. You LIKE when I'm mean to you! That's why you never argue back! It all makes sense now.." Karl looked down to avert eye contact.
"That's perfect Karl, you love when I'm mean to you- and I love to make fun of you! Win Win!" you felt a small rush of excitement. Your hand wrapped around his cock which forced a choked out moan from him, his hands moving to cover his face "you're acting quite rude Karl. Look at your big sister when she's talking to you!" you ordered.
Karl slowly revealed his face, revealing how much pleasure he was having. "F-Feel's weird, let go!" he ushered you to let go of his penis, even though his body disagreed; his hips bucking up into your hand to help finish him off "Trust your big sister." you said as you continued to pump your hand around his cock. "Fuck! Fuck you!" Karl's whole body shuddered as he was having an orgasm, his penis twitching in your hand.
"Wow Karl, that was rude." you huffed and narrowed your eyes, your hand still lingering on his crotch "A-are you done now?" Karl panted as he was trying to catch his breath "Done? I've barely even started!" you laughed maniacally as you began to slowly stroke him again "Ah- no no no, that's too much!" Karl whined. "You want me to stop?" you asked him "Yes!" he exclaimed so you let go and pulled away "What?" Karl was confused and a bit upset "Hm? What is it?" you asked "You're just.. done?" he looked saddened.
"You told me to stop!" you explained "yeah but.. I didn't really mean it.." Karl's cheeks were dusted red "Well come back here then" you grabbed his hips and forced him back down onto his chair. Karl was already eager and bucking his hips up against you, your hand grabbed him again and started to jerk him off "Ah!- Ah-" Karl tried to keep quiet but couldn't help the escaped noises that came out.
You placed your free hand over his mouth to try and muffle his moans, his voice vibrating against your hand "You can never be quiet! Always have something to say, don't you?" you rolled your eyes at him. Karl clenched his eyes shut and tapped the chair repeatedly with his hand to let you know he was ready to cum again, you let him release his load yet again but you didn't remove your hand.
"A-Again?? I can only take so much.." Karl whimpered and whined "You're feeling this way already? But I've only just started!" You frowned "Well I guess I can give you a break now but there won't be any breaks later on when our parents go out to dinner." you stood up and got off him. "T-Thanks.." Karl huffed "For what?" you asked "Thanks for um- pleasuring me?" you scoffed and walked back to your room, ready to return at night time when you had Karl all to yourself.
