THANK YOU FOR BEING STRONG, LISA MARIE PRESLEY ♥ (1968 — 2023)

I'd like to address a few words on Lisa Marie Presley today, on [sadly] the 1st anniversary of her passing.

BRAVERY. That's the biggest virtue I see in Lisa.

At 5 years old she saw her life drastically changing for the first time, and it was the first moment she had no other choice but to be brave, even not knowing about it, consciously. Her parents, Elvis and Priscilla, divorced in 1973. Imagine how this feels to a child. Imagine now how this feels to a famous child, since gossip is all around and there's nothing anyone could do to prevent her from being exposed to it (even if Priscilla and Elvis tried the hardest to protect young Lisa, the best they could).

Although she couldn't possibly understand what was going on, a child is still very perceptive and sensitive to the world around. At 5 years old is the age we all begin to keep the first memories of being alive, so Lisa must have kept to her adult years, vivid, possibly painful, memories way back from 1973, even if just a few blurred images and soft whispers echoing through her mind.

Then, at 9 years old she was forced to be brave for the second time, but it was harder. Unfortunately, Lisa lost her loving father in 1977 and grief stroke her for the first time, ravaging her fairy tale castle at once, without any warning, and, on top of that, she spent her whole life from then on, having those painful memories being brought up to mind when people, naturally, asked about her phenomenal father, all the time they addressed to her. She could never, and she did never, managed to escape this, to keep herself from thinking about her father's death and avoid suffering.

But the worst about having to heal and "get over" her father's loss, certainly was witnessing people, many, many people, badmouthing him. The man this young girl knew, the one she looked up to, the loving parent that took good care of her, that spoiled her to a fault, the first man that protected her and the first man she ever loved, the one man that treated her as a little princess and made her feel the most special little angel on earth, was gone forever... and the people, instead of being compassionate and protective about her, were all around spewing venom over her father's grave, shouting how bad of a man Elvis Presley supposedly was. And it all started since the day Elvis passed away, from the gossip in the book "Elvis: What Happened".

To little "Yisa" Marie, Elvis was a hero, just a hero... nothing more, nothing less.

But she didn't have him around anymore, to hug her and tell everything would be alright, or to put her at ease and say those things they said about him, those things that were hurting her so much, were all lies — even tho much wasn't, she didn't understand and it would've been good having her father there to make her feel safe.

All she had available now, to help her feeling closer to her daddy, to get to know him a little better for herself and maybe getting a good and sound advice from him, were books. Books with the family and friends own personal accounts on who Elvis was and what he did throughout his life. But those books... the same books that contained the good side of Elvis, contained many things a daughter doesn't want and doesn't need to know about her parent.

To who Lisa could run to, when needing a little support, a little help soothing her sorrow, her grief? Her mother. Now, the worst must have been having her own mother writing a memoir book where she accused Elvis of many shameful, monstrous even, actions and behavior (one of the vital books that tainted Elvis' image forever). Now, Lisa didn't have her father anymore, and her mother kinda looked like an enemy at times. She felt lost, alone, and didn't know why those people kept on talking so badly about someone she utterly loved so much and that gave her nothing but the deepest love she ever felt.

Reading gossip all the time, being asked about things written in book she couldn't possibly tell rather they were truthful or not; things written in books she probably didn't ever read to keep herself from getting even more hurt. Still, Lisa had to sit and hear all those hurtful things about her own father and she couldn't do much to defend him. She just sat there and probably feeling the words cutting her guts like knives being twisted nonstop. This little girl was deeply hurt many times in her life, and nothing could mend this part of her broken heart.

It made her angry the way she was forced to hear some people mocking her father. It maddened her how the press kept questioning her about rather Elvis was or wasn't a bad man. But she had to live with this and keep a straight face. She had to grow up faster than most children/teenagers do while the press - and a good part of the society - kept on trying to make Lisa hate a part of herself, her origin, her own family name. She saw her castle being crushed many times during her life, with only a few quick breaks, here and there, so she could take a deep breath and get herself together again, only so she could prepare herself to the next dark moment she sorely felt would come to find her, sooner or later.

On top of Elvis, Lisa had to deal with many more damaging situations throughout her life, AND I AM ONLY TALKING ABOUT HER FORMATIVE YEARS UNTIL NOW.

Because of her status in society, her name, her fame, her wealthy, she never knew if the ones around her were genuinely loving and caring for her or not (something her father also experienced as an adult, something that Elvis confessed to friends it made him hopeless since he would never know for sure if he had true love in his life or if the people around him were there to get something only he could offer, and something that wasn't his pure love at all. Imagine living a life where you never know if you are loved because of who you are or for what you have to offer. It must make one feels like they worth nothing, like they didn't deserve being loved.

Yes, Lisa was poured with Elvis' fans adoration and love, but its a different love, it's distant. It's a love not even Elvis himself could feel in his soul, even tho he loved his fans so much. He said to friends our, his fans love, was an impersonal kind of love because we didn't know him as a person, just as an image. He was right, back in his time people only knew Elvis' image. As much we adore them, Elvis and little Lisa couldn't possibly feel loved only from the fans adoration.

Not knowing if her friends really cared for her must have been lonely. Like she had nobody she could trust. We know Elvis felt like this.

Living this kind of life isn't easy, it would quickly take its toll on any of us. Lisa must have felt browsing in the ocean, all alone. She needed to escape from those uneasy feelings. So, she had some drug issues during her growing up period in life. I don't blame her, neither should you. Like Elvis sang, "Walk a mile in my shoes". You and I have no idea how it must be unbearable listening to people mocking at your family publicly; saying the meanest things about your father, some mean gossip about her mother too, here and there, and even mean rumors about herself, when people begun judging her body, her relationships, and so on.

Yet, Lisa continued being brave. She lived her life, her own way. Never caring what outsides may think of her. She got married some times, she had children and for a moment things seemed to be doing okay. But the worst thing could ever had happened to sweet Lisa, happened. Suddenly she was losing her only son, her loving beautiful boy, her Ben. All of those things that happened in that little girl's life until now, and then this, the most horrendous nightmare strikes her, breaking not only her heart but her soul, in a way she would never recover from.

Still, Lisa Marie continued being the bravest she could, for herself but mostly for the 3 beautiful daughters she had to be there for, but from now on things were never the same.

I still don't know about Lisa Marie's life in a deep. There's many more things, I'm sure, she had endure, she had to face in her lifetime [the broken relationships, not to mention the inner monsters she had to fight against every single day], but those things everybody knows are enough to make me feel empathetic towards her.

Of course, there's poverty in the world, there's people literally dying from starvation or from guns/knives and bombs - and we all feel deeply for them too, but that doesn't mean the famous and rich people don't suffer as well. Everybody has their own mountains to climb. And yes, I feel very empathetic for the emotional issues Lisa Marie Presley had to face after losing her father as a child, all the press abuse she experienced since a young age and then the tragic lost of her only son.

I'm not trying to make Lisa a saint, much less someone you should pity. Not in a million years. I know, we know, Lisa Marie was happy too. Not everything was darkness in her life. ✨ She managed to find happiness and bliss in the little things. She wrote beautiful, meaningful and deep songs; she performed live onstage graciously, even if it must have felt terrifying singing in front of an audience when people had unreal expectations on her because of her father. Lisa lived life her way. She gave her father's fans her love and affection the best way she could, all her life. She grew a loving family. She had 4 beautiful children. CONTINUOUSLY, SHE LIVED BOLDLY, DOING HER OWN THING, TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS, SEARCHING FOR HAPPINESS WHILE BEING THE STRONG, BRAVE WOMAN SHE WAS BORN BEING.

Lisa Marie Presley is an inspiring woman. She was humble, she was fearless, she was a rock star. ⚡

Unfortunately, Lisa was taken away from her family, from us, fans, too soon, exactly one year ago. But we will never forget her, not because of her father but because of her own soul, the life she created by herself.

Now, something to celebrate is that we, gladly, will read Lisa's own words about her life. About her father, certainly, but most importantly about herself and this is something to celebrate indeed. Elvis didn't had the same good fortune of having the time to collect his memories and writing a book that could speak up for him when he was no longer here. Thanks to Riley Keough, Lisa's beautiful daughter, Elvis' grandchild, Lisa will have this triumph, this final time to set the record straight.

I'm SO, SO, SO happy Lisa's memoir book will be released! She deserves having her story told by herself. Once again, Riley is being the real Presley she is. God bless her.

I love that GIF so much! It's clear to see how Lisa is emotional seeing her father's history being told in such a fair, not full of bullshit way. If we think about other Elvis biopics released previously, where in some Elvis is shown ridiculously talking to his shadow, even tho Baz Luhrmann's 2022 "Elvis" movie isn't 100% accurate, it was the closest we ever got to his real, full lifestory being portrayed. I feel happy the last her father's history portrayed onscreen she got to see was one that made her feel happy, proud and honored. That's all Lisa wanted all her life in what concerns to her daddy memory and legacy. I'm in peace knowing that, even tho she died so young, she was honored and witnessed at last her beloved father being honored and praised for the good, unique Rock and Roll hero, the pioneer, the legend he was.

I'm happy it made her happy. ♥

We miss you so much, EP and dear Lisa. Hope you're both happy reunited. Look down for us, sweet angels. We'll keep your memories alive. May God keep Lisa's angel soul in Heaven, peaceful and together with her beloved father and son.

We love you, Yisa. Thank you for living your life in such inspirational way.

Rest in peace, sweet princess. ♥

[this is gonna be really freaking long and emotional i am so sorry] Dude I was scared shitless.

like back in august when Charlie (and JRWI by proxy) were looking for artists for the BITW coc campaign, I replied under his tweet with my stuff Mainly for funzies (was egged on by moots) thinking he'd never actually pick me (there were SO so many good artists under that post ain't no way...)

.... and then he DID

like I wish I could fully emphasize how much that gig means to me imagine: one of my favourite CCs ever, from one of my favourite podcasts EVER, liked MY art and talked to ME to essentially be an environmental concept artist (which is like.. my dream job btw) for HIS campaign??

For someone with really, really, really horrible social anxiety I'm eternally grateful for his patience putting up with my awkwardness - he is seriously one of the most kindest people in the world ;_;

It was so nice hearing Charlie's ideas for the campaign and letting me build on top of it - it rly shows how important that campaign in particular and dnd as a whole is to him and the rest of the council and I feel so blessed to have been a part of that process >w<

The Arcana Main 6 x Dara relationship dynamics

Asra: There is some romantic potential between the two, but it's not very much. They were childhood friends and are still very close. Because of that, people often mistake them for lovers. When I say they are close, I really mean it. Asra has no problem hopping into Dara's bed for some cuddles and he's one of the very few people who are allowed to touch them. They pretty much go everywhere together and even though they have separate beds in the shop, they often end up sharing. He's invited to every family gathering and special occasion. Dara can be a little oblivious when it comes to how others feel about them (coughs coughs Nadia coughs choughs), but Asra, being the cheeky person that he is, doesn't shy away from letting them know that a certain Countess might be in love with them. Asra was the first person Dara kissed, btw.

Nadia: Oh I could talk about these two all day. True love. That's it, true love. They met during the plague and quickly fell in love with each other. However, they didn't confess their love until after Nadia woke up from her coma. Dara is introverted but warm and patient, which is something that can be said about Nadia as well. Their relationship is as comfortable as it is passionate, filled with affection and care. They're both givers, which means they spoil each other 24/7 with gifts and all forms of affection. Neither of them trusts easily, but since they're both patient and kind, opening up was not a big issue (except that one incident but that's gonna be explained in Wounds of Magic, Scars of Love.) Nadia is Dara's favorite person in the entire world and they're giving her the special treatment. They seem like an open person, but there's still so much that they hide about themselves. Not from Nadia, tho. Nadia is the only person that Dara tells everything. They have some trauma, and so far, Nadia has been the only one they completely trusted with it. Whenever something happens, Dara's first thought is that they have to go and tell Nadia about it. No one is allowed to touch Dara without asking for first (except Asra and maybe a handful of other people), but Nadia is always an exception. Actually, Dara wishes she would touch them all the time. There is something about the Countess that makes Dara feel things that no one else ever has before. It's a relationship based on lots of love and mutual respect. When it's just them, everything feels so easy. They can be just Nadia and Dara with each other and I think that's beautiful. There's no pressure, no expectations. Just love. If there was a love story about a star and the moon, it would be about them. Hand in marriage when?

Julian: Dara can't really decide how they feel towards Julian. On the one hand, they'd party with him. On the other hand, they're giving him a bombastic side-eye. Julian is not bad and Dara is okay with hanging out with him once in a while, but they can't imagine getting any closer to him. However, sometimes they hang out at the Rowdy Raven and chat over some drinks and they worked together during the plague. When they share a common goal, they're willing to work together towards it.

Muriel: Sweet Muriel is a childhood friend of Dara. They drifted apart but later rekindled their friendship. Or more like, Muriel tolerates Dara more than he would with other people. Dara isn't someone who would force anyone, which is something that Muriel appreciates. However, Dara makes sure that Muriel never feels forgotten. Whenever Dara goes somewhere, they bring him back a little gift or occasionally show up at his hut to say hi, bring some goodies, and pet Inanna. Whenever there's an occasion, Dara invites Muriel and sadly, he often says no, but Dara lets him know that they could hang out later. Just the two of them. They both like chickens. Dara sometimes asks if they could hug Muriel.

Portia: Besties. They bake together and gossip together. When Dara and Portia sit down, they simply can't resist spilling all the latest tea. You know what TikTok trend about whoever brings up xy has to pay first? Yeah, it's them. I swear to gayness, they're like two grandmas. They pet and feed stray cats. Maybe occasionally bring them back to the Palace until Nadia says it's enough. Portia is someone that Dara trusts and considers a true friend. Lots of inside jokes and uncontrollable laughter. They also think that she's cute.

Lucio: Another character with romantic potential. At first, Dara just wanted to punch him. Now they want to punch him and then make out with him and it really confuses them. They're still salty about the way Lucio treated Nadia, but they also understand that Lucio is in some serious need of a therapist. With that being said, Dara is someone that Lucio can talk to about his past. As soon as they begin to understand why Lucio is the way he is, their judgement and hatred for him starts to disappear. When Lucio had the plague, Dara did their best to ease his suffering. If he ever needs a shoulder to cry on or just someone who listens, Dara is always available. They want to get drunk with him.

Drifting Stars Masterlist Ⅱ

I never thought there would be a part two of this solely because of the limited number of fanfictions there actually are for this au. Yet here we are, four months later and somehow able to make this post. Same rules apply; general order of favourites, you are all entitled to your own opinion, add any I may have missed, and that's kinda it.

Disconnected by DarrowWyrlde - 4th part of a series, 2 028 words, 2/13

Ok so this one probably should not be in this post at all since it's not drifting stars and more of a lost legends fic. I only put this one here because it's still about Mabel in the multiverse and who knows, maybe that's why you read drifting stars. I don't have much else to say, just thought I'd put it here.

Drift Away by GravityUniverse115 - oneshot, 1 174 words, 1/1

This one was written well despite it being fairly short, the only catch being that it - again - is not entirely drifting stars. It is about Mabel going through the portal, but it is written more as a concept in comparison to a typical oneshot. If someone did write a fic based off of this tho I would definitely read it.

The Drifting Star by Booblybaba - standalone, 35 337 words, 15/?

This was your typical drifting stars fic, I don't have too much else to say except that it was good and that it ends just as I was getting into it. It was a bit fast paced but again, not bad.

Into the Unknown by MintGreenMare - standalone, 31 681 words, 22/22

Finished and Drifting Stars does not go in the same sentence, and yet this fic exists. Fully complete, 100% resolved. It only took like 9 years for someone to actually finish writing one of these. It did take me a bit to get into it compared to other stuff I've read, mostly because it feels more like a collection of oneshots as opposed to a whole fic, but I did still enjoy it.

Ad Astra by Queen_Mab - standalone, 103 406 words, 18/?

So many people go crazy for this fic and I kinda get why, the worldbuilding is done really well and the stuff going on back in Gravity Falls is a lot more interesting than just Dipper and Stan rebuilding the portal. The only setback for me is that it feels unrealistic and was almost pushed too far in some aspects. But again, I get the appeal and do wanna see what would happen next.

Save That Light by Mezzorellasticks - standalone, 11 293 words, 5/?

I'm surprised there aren't more fic's with some of the concepts in this one. I won't spoil it but I could see this happening to Mabel more than once and yet no one has written about it. Some parts felt a little off in terms of character but overall it was pretty cool.

A Familiar Face by Missintroverted - 1st part of a series, 2 350 words, 1/1

This is another fic that's not entirely drifting stars but at the same time kinda is. Instead of Mabel being fully related to Ford, it's another version of her but older (possibly a relativity + reverse portal version). I thought it interesting and I enjoyed the interaction between the two.

Among The Stars by Maviiigirl - standalone, 4 603 words, 2/?

This fic follows the typical outline so far; Mabel falling through the portal, Ford being an awkward dumbass, the two figuring out what's going on before any proper multiverse madness occurs. But the way it was written was really good, that and the fact that this author also wrote a very good oneshot which gives me hope for the future of this fic.

A Little Help by Maviiigirl - oneshot, 3 130 words, 1/1

I thought this oneshot was so cool. Mabel being all responsible while internally panicking and Ford being delusional was actually so funny to me. Some parts were a little quick but overall I thought it was really well done. I kinda wanna see it be continued just to see what Ford would say when he woke up tho.

That's mostly it, if I were to compare the two list's I'd say the quality of the fics from the other one are far better, but these one's are a lot more recent meaning there is hope that some of them will be continued.

I didn't mean to insult any of these, I find my main problem with fanfiction is the way the characters are written and the way characters bond, especially since many are rushed and often there isn't enough time allowed for certain emotions to properly form before diving straight into hurt/comfort. I understand tho, I struggle with that a lot in my writing too.

So to pass the time lately I played through Lies of P for the first time

And of course, me being me, I proceeded to make everything about the game gay

Tho what started as just "I think Carlo and Romeo are exes" and "Eugenie needs a girlfriend" turned into an actual honest to fuck queer reading after that final boss fight

tl;dr: Lies of P is to trans femmes what original Pinocchio is for trans mascs

but to explain my insanity I'm gonna have to spoil the shit out of the game soooooo you've been warned

Okay so for the sake of simplicity I'm gonna refer to Geppetto's son as Carlo and to the protagonist of the game as P. I know they have literally the same soul, but they don't share memories and don't seem to share a sense of identity, so I'm gonna treat them as different people here

Also it's important for The Symbolism, so bear with me here

So our dear P is this new person who is slowly building a sense of identity for himself, this being represented by you slowly growing more human the more you do certain things in the game

Like enjoying music, and lying to people

You know, normal human stuff

This eventually leads to one of the first big changes in P's character design. P grows his hair out, much to Geppetto's frustration.

Because P no longer looks like Carlo. He's starting to differentiate himself from the person Geppetto expects his son to be.

This tension between P's growing sense of self, and Geppetto's expectation for P to just turn into this image he has of Carlo, just continues to escalate

Culminating on the final boss fight against The Nameless Puppet

Carlo's corpse being used by Geppetto to claim back his son's soul

And that's when the old man says a line that makes me rethink who P and Carlo are

"This freedom isn't for you. It's for Carlo"

and you know, there's something about how to claim your freedom and keep your soul, you have to fight and defeat your own masculine body, which is being puppeteered by your controlling father, who has very strong opinions about who you're supposed to be

ESPECIALLY when said father keeps calling you a male name that is no longer yours

Like her first lie is her trying to get the security systems of the hotel from killing her

And her last lie is her telling her dad she trusts him

In the end P feels like a transfemme with a very strained relationship to her father, who still only sees her as "Carlo", the son he insists she should be.

Honestly there's probably a lot to be said about P and Carlo's relationship to Romeo, as well as Sophia's role in this story, but I'd need to play through the game again to get all the specific interactions aaaaand I don't feel like playing a video game twice back to back

hello! can you explain what you mean with your tags re: the phrasing of "kill all men" and the idea that a "certain" group benefits from the oppression from another group? i'm not sure i understand what you were trying to say but i'd like to!

ftr this is just something I noticed, I'm not making any claims about whether or not it's enormously offensive or important to counter

so my point is that I feel like I've seen the same few steps occur a couple times, which go:

a certain phrase or idea is widespread on here

the idea is criticised by Black people / people of colour specifically along a racial dimension

(white) people water down & miss the historical specificity of said racial critique and think that it must have an analogue along the lines of gender or sexuality or ability status &c., and so apply it too broadly.

with the "kill all men" example, this would be:

a bunch of women express frustration with & anger at misogyny, patriarchy, & men('s role in upholding the same) using the phrase "kill all men," and maybe a few other similar phrases

some Black people point out that it is a little absurd for white women to be saying this type of thing, given the very specific and very violent relationship that white women have to Black men & 'masculinity' where certain white women could and did literally get Black men killed at will (for the most part talking about a U.S. context, tho' similar things may obtain elsewhere)

people start saying things such as "it's bad to say things like 'kill all men' because you're including gay and trans men, disabled men, and men of colour," which widens the original critique into sort of being incoherent, since none of these groups of men at large have the same relationship to the violence of white femininity that Black men do

the other example rests on my feeling that I first saw "it's not enough to say that white people aren't harmed by racism, colonialism &c.; it must be pointed out that they benefit from it"—which makes sense if by "benefit" you mean "are given some of the spoils of colonialism" rather than "are better off than if capitalism didn't exist at all"—and then, perhaps due to this influence (?), I started seeing people say that every group benefits from the oppression of every marginalised group they don't belong to, without actually arguing why that's true in each case.

-Black Butler : Public School Arc (yes the ship is problematic but you cannot deny the shipper when you watch it. I'm not shipping SebasCiel but I'm not anti too. Their canon relationship is complicated but great story)

-Wind Breaker (bucchigiri but way better and loveable mc)

Hey hey ( ◜‿◝ )♡, Literally following all of these already.

Black Butler was definitely a must, since the announcement dropped sometime last year I've been unable to keep it out of my mind. It's understandable not everyone will ship them but I personally have missed Sebaciel shenanigans so much and seeing favorite characters like Soma (although with less melanin than I remember lol what =_=) in the recent episode just made me so happy.

As for Tadaima Okaeri, I was looking forward to it for a long time, so far I'm not disappointed and it's definitely so fucking cute. All I'm saying is...if any country needs to push baby making propaganda they should go for this instead of the trashy het stuff, I don't make the rules.

I have almost no thoughts on Wind Breaker. It's definitely an upgrade but after the disappointment that was Bucchigiri, I've began to keep my expectations for Delinquent shows low (Tokyo revengers and IWGP are yet to be topped for me). It's not bad but do feel like it's lacking substance in some areas and trying too hard. The main character isn't a bitch tho so I know there's hope for it yet.

To me this year's winter season had way more exciting stuff but there are a number of other anime I'd love to recommend for this spring.

Karasu wa aruji wa Erabanai (The Raven does not choose it's Master) Is almost like the apothecary diaries, but with magic, and without the herbs and medicine...but it has the court politics so yay (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧ taking place in a world where people can turn into three legged ravens called Yatagurasu, Yukiya after causing some trouble for his family is taken to serve the most special of specials crown prince who is to become the next Kin'u after picking a bride from the four daughters of the clan heads sent to him. So basically every gay historical romance Wattpad story lol. Unfortunately this isn't a bl and though you can probably tell the prince will get married in future episodes, from these three eps, I think it establishes the focus will be on him and Yukiya, which, I couldn't ask for more.

Another Recommendation is Kaijuu no. 8, I have no words (in a good way). Just spacial forces slaying gigantic monsters while the main character suddenly becomes one of those monsters and has to still join the special force that at some point will kill him if they find out, or if they have found out they realize he's different from other monsters and can help them win the war for humanity *aot flashbacks ಥ‿ಥ* What I'm trying to say is that... it's good. I think it's funny with characters that have to potential to reel you in. I've been told the manga is pretty average tho but we'll see.

Touken Ranbu Kai is...something, I don't watch anime just for pretty boys but even if I didn't like the plot of this one I'd stick with it just for the guys. Beautiful character designs, the lore feels very fresh and intriguing and as well. There's a lot of philosophical topics I think the show has potential to dive into and I'm excited to see where we go moving forward from the three eps out currently.

Last but not least, there's Sentai Daishikkaku (Go Go Loser Ranger) I really don't want to spoil anything but let me just say, it's a brilliant subversion of the Power Rangers narrative. The sound track is fun while also hitting hard, and the characters definitely leave you wanting to know more about them and the world they're in. Definitely give it a try, I don't think you'll regret it.

Got a bit carried away with this one hahah, welp that's all my recs for now. Aside from my shipping stuff I'll probably talk about any of these every now and then, my top three right now tho are definitely Black Butler, Sentai Daishikkaku and Karasu wa aruji wa Erabanai. Anon has amazing taste but I'm a very big action and supernatural fan at heart so I'm based.

Depending on how disappointing or exciting things get along the line this list might change but unfortunately my feelings don't help the state of my FAL ranking so yeah wish me luck (〒﹏〒)

A little rant about leaks because I'm lowkey dreading them. And I'd appreciate it if you'd read it (and if not... 👁👁).

I find the jjk fandom's (though it's true for others too) reliance on leaks very off-putting. I know people want to look forward to something in the middle of the week and talk about it, but this just feels disrespectful, while also being at the cost of other people getting to enjoy it as they want to whether you care about getting spoiled or not.

So many people just don't tag leaks and spoilers properly (forget places where tagging doesn't even make a difference). Seeing things trending with the context of previous chapters explains everything. Not to mention people mis-tagging spoilers and leaks interchangeably (you can remove leak tags after the chapter is officially published but not spoiler tags!!) And no, you're not subtle with your 'out of context spoilers' to someone who has all previous context.

But what boggles my mind is why would you want someone to shout the punchline of a joke in your face before any of the setup has been done. You'll have a bunch of deepfried 2 pixel screenshot of screenshot quality manga panels of crucial moments with none of the build up and pacing. Paired with the most lacklustre explainations of what's happening (the phrasing of which can be biased to the leaker's opinions). Translating isn't easy. To convey what exactly something means from one language to another in an effective and in the intended way isn't easy (shoutout to fan translators tho y'all are amazing thank you for your time and effort)

And whether you care about the story or not, heck even if you think the mangaka themself doesn't care about it, it is just so disrespectful to the content that you're consuming. Making comics and manga isn't easy (churning them weakly is insane imo esp when a lot of mangaka aren't even full time artists) so why wouldn't you allow yourself to consume their story the way they've themself laid it out. Where one panel comes after the other. Where one expression has context in the next page. Where a dialogue has weight only when placed with another dialogue. Give the creator(s) this little grace too, because whether you like a story or not, there is still a huge amount of effort and skill, by multiple people, going into it.

And I personally love interacting with the fandoms I'm in, literally sometimes the only source of joy I have (yes ik leave me alone) is interacting with other fans and having my mind blown over their art and writing and theories. And I'd rather not be spoiled unless I'm myself seeking them out or just reading the actual chapter. So this involves me either spoiling it for myself before someone else does it, or spoiler dodging for 5 OUT OF 7 DAYS A WEEK EVERY WEEK.

I'm not even saying you should only look for official sources or whatever because I know not everyone has access to legal places to read (tho the shounen jump app is there for those interested, but yeah i get it for other publications), but there are better ways to read/hate-readyour fav/least fav manga out there without ruining it for someone else. The wait is juuust a couple of days more. There is absolutely no dearth of fan made content that can't help you last another few days, maybe your new fav fan creator is right around a little wait (ahem check my bs out if you'd like ahem ahem).

I just want to be able to interact with the fandom for more than just 2 days a week, and I don't like my accounts dying because i dissapear 5 days either, and is that a such a bad thing? I come online to have fun, not run an obstacle race y'know?

Honestly I'm interested on how Yoo Joonghyuk and Woo Jin Chul would get together and what their relationship dynamic would be like. A preserved and independent man who happens to get agitated a lot when a certain sacrificing man named Kim Dokja is around X a workaholic and peacemaker man for strong and powerful people. Of course, that's not how I intirely see them as, I just kinda see their dynamic in that way lol. Jin Chul would certainly just step infront of Joonghyuk when it looks like the man is about to slash Dokja apart like a samurai in DvDs (my attempt to rant like a tumblr person /j I could not get anymore creative than this). That is, if Joonghyuk already has feelings for him or they're already in a relationship. If he doesn't or they aren't in a relationship yet, Joonghyuk would attempt to hurt Jin Chul just to get to Dokja (to punch the man ofc), not knowing Jin Chul is capable of slowing him down/stunning him. It's not even serious, Dokja is just being stupid and Joonghyuk is also being stupid but Jin Chul would rather have their surroundings intact and clean so he ends the bickering quickly. Idk Joonghyuk takes interest in him yada yada Woo Jin Chul gains a bf (Yoo Joonghyuk) and I'm going to sleep (I SHOULD BE ASLEEP RN). But on an additional note, I wanna create an AU with these mfs. SL x ORV. I'm not that creative or good at writing but I'd be brainstorming and I'd enjoy it, so imma make one (if I had time). With Sung Jin Woo x Kim Dokja as well, but the endgame will be Sung Jin Woo x Woo Jin Chul and Kim Dokja x Yoo Joonghyuk. Idk maybe they're exes, maybe they're idiots (they are /affectionately), maybe they– honestly idk LMAO. Imma search for inspiration and stuff so I can write these pairings that would make sense lol. I am... yapping. I'm so sorry— (I would like to read what you think of the pairings Yoo Joonghyuk x Woo Jin Chul and Kim Dokja x Sung Jin Woo, if you're not comfortable or don't want to write about it, that's okay! Delete this right away if you want)

Personally I was never a big fan of Dokja and Jinwoo, but Its not like I disliked it either. It is a popular ship and im glad a lot of people on ao3 like it, (not only beacuse the ship managed to keep SL one alive, but also because the ideas of the characters and world had been expanded through those fics. And bc it is a beneficial way for fans to interact with more manhwa, especially since the anime has come out. Also SL is not that strong on worldbuilding so the writers have an easier way to complement all of their magic systems and lore into the other story without much problem. I think its part of SL's charm that crossovers ships and fics exist more than just being a self contained fandom like most are. Best way I can put it is that SL acts more like a soda, you can have it for yourself or with other foods, but most of the time you see it with other foods. Also the side characters, as someone on ao3 puts it, are free real state. To most who use it, they are pretty much like dolls whose personality definatly ranges but als onot much to make you think its completely differnt person.) I got introduced to ORV that way, kinda, and well sadly I havent fnished the tory tho I got easily spoiled by like everything, so my characterizations for Joonghyuk and Dokja might be a little skewed, ooc even *gasp*.

Anyways as for how I would think about it. From first time I do agree with a lot of your ideas, and if you wanna write then go ahead! I think it will turn out to be fun!

Jinchul and joonghyuk is a pair I thought I saw once during my fanfic hunt ( and im sure of it that it existed... somewhere =_=) but defiently a new concept for sure. I do feel pity for Jinchul having become this side character who will be put in the place of constant death for the sake of kim dokja. Oh, although considering how protective jinwoo is over his love ones ( and the protagonist halo he has) it wouldnt be a bad idea overall to put him as a sacrifice since the moment that happens Jinwoo comes back to rescue him with the power he has on him. Psychopathic for all of them but it fits them.

(omg just imaginig the cycles of Dokja trying to find a solution by killing himself, Yoo jooonghyuk saying it should be Jinchul instead, jinchul actually trying to find a solution that doesnt involve ANYONE dying because god is he the only one with braincells. and then jinwoo just raising his hand up like, you know my power is dying right? like I can do this instead.)

Depending on what world we are talking about, their situations would def be vary as well. Dokja and Yoo Joonhyuk in SL world, alongside Jinwoo, would probably the most dangeorus things Jinchul has to deal with on a daily basis because of how much they keep filing for property damage. Joonhyuk and Jinwoo would always like to one up each other me thinks, while Dokja would likely be more insterested in the gates and their ecosystems, what stories could they tell and where they could come from. He would proably be the most chill with Jinchul, maybe even sharing a lot of information with him about monsters and magical items.

As for how jinchul and jinwoo would work in the Orv setting. WEll for one i dont think the pairs can seperate. Both Jinwoo and Jinchul, just like Dokja and Joonghyuk are like, bonded stray cats, not sorry. They could go for hours at a time doing their own things but they will damn well find each other back. This probably makes it easier then for Jinchul to make out a plan for his 'sacrifice' to be stopped midway when Jinwoo decides to appear with so much plot armor you think he'd be a constellation. I also like the idea of Jinchul finding out through context cllue that like, Dokja had read the whole story of what might happen in the future and being the only one to confront him about it. It would be cool to see if Jinchul can also challenge Dokja's vision of needing to sacrifice himself, (especially when he already has one suicidal hero on the bag and dont need another one). If it were to me I would try to put Jinchul's detective skills /and his way of dealing with powerful people like s ranks) at work since it would be fun if someone saw past Dokja's hero persona easily, slowly peeling it away to reveal someone who is way too traumatized by possible past events that he might just start doing some things to self destruct.

I dont know how to put it into words as well, but Jinchul being the most realistic person out there --not a sidehero, not an op protagonist or a damsel or a femme fatale. Not one of the characters in his book and not one of the readers or the people who adore him. He is as human as he can be. Having flaws and weaknesses more than everyone, but having his own niche strenghts as well. Not being able to be understood by Dokja unless he actively tries to get closer, and even then jinchul would know more about him than Dokja knows about the other.

Oh right what this wasnt a dokja and jinchul post, forget that (forgive me but dokja needs someone around his age that is like, a friend to him more in a casual way than the 'devoted loyal will always be there for you and kill for you' kind of way that he has with the rest of the kimcom. They are not bad by ANY means, its just that watching Dokja trying to befriend someone without the need to prove his worth, or just meet, in an apocalypse (or start one) would be healthy for him. It would also be funny if Jinchul is overall too tired with work to care that theres a whole ass apocalypse going down. Dude's "im not cut out for this" and "fuck that" getting him out of drama situations.

Jinwoo is there. I dont know what to make of him, surprisingly. He is that plot armor that everyone desperatly needs, but sadly he is out there hunting other weird ass monsters and probably hijacking the whole system that the dokkabei have. Jinchul and Jinwoo in prv could serve as awesome narrative foils, one acts as the most generic protagonist one could ever meet, and the other acts as so human to the point that its scary. Jinwoo would always be that stepping stone that Joonghyuk has to overcome (and maybe does a lot of the times, maybe he doesnt reach the perfection state like jinwoo does, protagonist halos are weird) And Joonghyuk will try to gain some information about him through Jinchul, whenever he is not using him for sacrifices against humanity. Jinchul of course might use that info as a bargain to get dokja out of certain trouble (which could also gethte other a headache bc agh nothing is going to plan!) and powerup jinwoo instead. When no one is going at each others throats, it would be fun for jinwoo and joonghyuk to interact and share stuff about their younger sisters-

HOLD, kyung hye needs to meet kim dokja she would solve like 65% of whatever is wrong with him my senses tell me its true CONTINUE

Over the coure of many shitty things happening once the fights with the contellations start, I think Joonghyuk might rely more of Jinchul to get them out of situations and regard him as a more respectable ally to be around (especially when he comes with the bonus of a living embodiment of a death god in the background) and Jinchul could learn to put Joonghyuk in check before he goes on a killing spree because of Dokja's death.

I will have to catch up on orv's ln to get more about this four, but the idea was certainly fun, so thanks for oversharing your thoughts!

Hunter likes to spoil you in every way.

The way I'm thinking about the bg3 story, both Rosio and Lucis were simultaneously completing parts of the quests, adventuring with only half of the companions, never running into each other (maybe at the end.. big avengers assemble moment.. except it's your ex that kinda ruined your life.. a classic), so from the pool of companions Rosio knows very well - Lae'zel, Shadowheart, Astarion, Jaheira and Halsin - he basically trusts Jaheira the most and almost instantly lol. She reminds him too much of his mother 🥲 Halsin is probably right there with her, he's the main voice of reason, Rosio trusts him to not let him and Astarion die during their gremlin shenanigans 😭 He kinda trusts Lae'zel and Shadowheart too, but only after their "fuck our goddesses" phase, he doesn't generally trust people too attached to their gods.

Funnily enough it took him the longest to trust Astarion 💀 Rosio was convinced he was the object of his manipulation basically till the "I love you" moment (and even more funnily enough, Rosio was willingly subjecting himself to that manipulation, being the self sabotaging, masochistic idiot that he is).

If Rosio knew Wyll, he wouldn't buy into his whole good boy hero shtick. He doesn't believe there are this kind-hearted people out there 😔 (But he's absolutely self projecting lol, the whole "how could you turn so kind when people wronged you so... and why I wasn't capable of it")

Lucis, on the other hand, fucking loves Karlach and Wyll. He trusts them with his life, considers them his best friends. Maybe he's a bit naive, but he actually finds their strong moral compasses admirable.

He trusts Gale too, but considering he's his lover, it's a tad more complicated 💀 It means the absolute world for Lucis that Gale would basically move mountains for him, but there's also.. Mystra 💀 That would be the source of his insecurities and a bit of trust issues (which, tbh, is pretty selfish, boy!!!! It's not like you're completely over your ex lmfaooo 😭)

Oh HMMM. The most typical one being food, I'd say. This man would run out of shape so fast if he wasn't leading an active life lmao. But if we're talking more Deep guilty pleasures, then it's being cared for, not having control, getting attention and feeling small (and yes, this is mostly about sex ahjkdajkds). He doesn't get to feel this way often nor does he even usually allow himself all this.. bc Issues and Trauma :)

For Lucis it's probably getting spoiled lol. He hates it about himself tho (being a spoiled kid, getting harshly criticized for it, wanting to be different, really cutting ties with the way he used to be).

But from more serious point of view, you can apply literal Guilty Pleasures to him. Lucis has such bad body autonomy and sex issues that he hasn't been able to have sex sober for like 20 years, he freaks out so bad and it got so mentally draining that it led to an addiction. Which leads to a constant guilt and pretty damaged confidence. (Turns out being a sweetheart of Athkatlan high society for like a decade really corrupts!!)

WELL THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR BIG BRAIN MUSIC TASTE, ZEAL, Take This Lonely Heart will always be THE Rosio song. Can't believe Nothing but thieves created a song about my oc, so thankful to them, they really didn't have to 🙏

Now cue to Maneskin brainrot, you can apply so much of their songs to Lucis, bc. Medicated, horny, party animal lifestyle. But honorary mention to After Dark bc sad synthwave/retrowave would be so much his style (and it's what imbued thunder/lightning magic into a bardic instrument is for, right ??)

My only knowledge about tarot cards comes from jojo's bizarre adventure (😭) so literally anyone could correct me on this and my 5 minutes long research aaaa.

Tbh probably Death for Rosio (end of a cycle, change, beginning ??) and I think there would be something very poetic about The Lovers

Aaaa The Devil literally fits so well for Lucis' worse past (addiction???) but I think deep down he's The Fool (innocence, but mainly new beginnings, aww)

Do you agree with the idea that the white fang plot as a whole was poorly handled even tho Adam was done fairly well in a vacuum?

That's... Tough.

You see, I do think they handled racism very poorly. Not because the plot itself was racist, or because the racism portrayal was bad. The plot isn't racist and the racism portrayal, although limited at first, gets a lot better as the show goes on and overall I'd say it's good.

What they failed to do is discuss racism.

The message of the White Fang arc is hardly related to combatting racism. The message is about how terrorists can't be allowed to represent minority groups, because oppressors will use the terroristic minority to generalize the entire group. As such, the minority group as a whole must stand up to the terrorists and show that they are not represented by the terrorists.

It's basically "one bad apple spoils the whole bunch" and how to solve it. That message is good, great even. I personally think that the responsibility shouldn't fall onto the oppressors to show that the vocal minority doesn't represent them, but it kinda has to, seeing as the oppressors aren't gonna be doing it anytime soon. Overall, I think that's a great message.

But it's hardly about how to combat racism. In the end, there is no message about how to do that, other than don't let crazy terrorists represent you cause people are gonna end up hating you, but that applies to pretty much everything.

I could say that for Muslims. Al-Qaeda's 9/11 attack didn't cause the U.S. to cower in fear, it generated HATE, and it made the U.S. intensify their efforts to eliminate Al-Qaeda. I really, really, really fucking hate that this is the case, but most Americans that generalize Muslims through Al-Qaeda aren't going to educate themselves. As such, it falls upon Muslims to show that they are not represented by Al-Qaeda and other Islamic terror groups like the Taliban. And, many Muslims have done this. Malala Yousafzai comes to mind (damn that girl is brave holy shit).

I can apply this to any minority group that is generalized by oppressors, not just racism.

As far as combatting racism goes, RWBY glorifies civil disobedience and MOSTLY peaceful stuff with Ghira, who is shown to not be against using violence in self defense as long as no one is killed and is ok with breaking laws (Adam robs a dust processing plant while still working for Ghira in the Adam Short), it takes a neutral stance on using violence and terrorism to achieve equality (doesn't vilify or glorify Sienna) and takes a hard negative stance on using terrorism to achieve revenge (Adam is a villain).

There's really no big discussion about the morality of using violence / terrorism to achieve equality. It's just not discussed. They had the setup to do it with Sienna Khan, but it was completely dropped. Naturally, RWBY fails to discuss racism in it's White Fang subplot by merit of kinda just giving up on it. The White Fang subplot absolutely succeeds at discussing terrorism and it's effects not just on the terrorist's targets but also on the people the terrorists are fighting for (or at least claim to be fighting for), and that's all fine and dandy.

However, I am still disappointed by the lack of racism discussion. The potential was all there, and it was just... dropped. Now, CRWBY themselves admitted they were naïve about racism, and yes, they were. Racism portrayal wasn't all too god in Volume 1-3. So I honestly think it was still the right decision to drop Sienna because it wouldn't have been well written if they kept her around, and they knew that.

So, in a way, yes, I do. I think the White Fang subplot fails to discuss racism and the big political question of if violence is justified if it's in the name of equality. It has no take on it, it's completely neutral on it, despite all the setup. However, I do think the White Fang subplot succeeds at discussing terrorism. To me it feels more like a subplot about terrorism with some racism sprinkles (terrible analogy but I'm trying my best lol) instead of a racism subplot with terrorism sprinkles. If the intention was to discuss terrorism, which, obviously, it was, then yes, it succeeds, but dropping all the discussion about racism was extremely disappointing and I 100% agree that it fails to discuss racism, not because of bad writing, but because it... doesn't try to.

In summary, the White Fang subplot has a very good message about terrorism and how it impacts not only the targets of terrorism but also the people the terrorism is done for. The White Fang subplot does not have any message about whether or not violence is justified in the name of equality. It fails to discuss this by merit of not trying.

So, I guess it was handled well when it comes to terrorism discussion, but not racism discussion.

I'd once again like to repeat that the White Fang subplot was never, has never, and if it comes back, hopefully will never be racist. Not once.

Hello! Firstly, I'd like to give thanks for getting me back into FNF. A good friend shared that wip Yourself/Silly Billy x reader comic you're working over Discord, and it intrigued me enough to look into it. Not only did I end up returning to the FNF fandom but also got a very big brainrot on Yourself/Silly Billy. Thanks for that.

Also speaking of that wip comic, I absolutely LOVE how it's coming along so far!

That first page is just so sweet, and honestly even more so now that I know more about Yourself there. Poor guy is clearly so happy and relieved to be reunited with a loved one there, even though said loved one (in this case Reader) isn't the same version he knows.

Then freaking Boyfriend calls out and that bit we get to see of Yourself's reaction regarding that- I couldn't help but let out a little laugh. It feels almost like he got caught up in the moment there and only just came back to reality there when BF called out there.

Speaking of BF, it's a good thing he showed up when he did. Not that I'm worried about what would happen to Reader with Yourself there, but man I can't help but feel he saved Reader from a more shocking reveal there. Better that it happens right now than later on am I right lmao.

And speaking of the reveal there, I LOOOOVE how you have done the reveal with Yourself on the second page. Poor Reader just very fearfully glancing down to the BF in their arms and god- I love that panel with Yourself there but god damn does it give me the chills. Like, in a good way here if that makes any sense.

THAT BIT YOU SHARED ON THE THIRD PAGE THO ASJKASJK GOD I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT SO MUCH. It's just a small thing, yes, but that panel with Yourself holding Reader there- god it makes me feel so many emotions there. The fact that he's an alternate Boyfriend? God. I just feel myself getting a little misty-eyed here.

I do feel a little bad for Reader though. While we know that Yourself has no malice intentions for them and simply just want to be with them again, Reader DOESN'T know that. As far as Reader is aware, they encountered what appears to be some sort of doppelganger of Boyfriend, and for whatever reason he seems to be really interested in them.

Can't wait to see their reaction when they learn who Yourself is there. Hopefully it'll involve giving the poor guy some much comfort there cuz seriously he has been through a lot. 😭

Anyhow, this is getting long enough as it is so I shall end this with another thank you and wishing you luck on the rest of that comic and your other works! Also hope we'll be seeing more Yourself/Silly Billy x Reader and Boyfriend x Reader content in the future too! :D
