When you backread through a fun conversation you had with someone for hours an angel gets its wings
#I was talking to my brother about Norman doors and I had fun in my UX class and he was telling me about demon cores and the trolley problem#in his class. AND I remembered to take my meds today so I can feel every cell in my body. i can feel the neurons rubbing together#and yesterday I infodumped about the specialists bullseye chart to crow and how it ties with witch hat atelier#WHICH I MANAGED TOGET THEM TK READ IM SO HAPPY. I MAKE SQUEALING GUINEA PIG NOISES EVERY TIME THEY TELL ME WHAT THEYVE READ SO FAR. AHH#i might not even be scratching the surface with witch hat there are so many themes i could not possibly fathom or go over my heasd#and thats what makes it so exciting there are so many spaces in between that you can fill with your thoughts and i. i#waves my hands around manically#for anyone interested in my insane ramblings. the bullseye chart is from are we all scientific experts now by harry collins#in my own words its basically saying everything we know about anything is a game of broken telephone#and it discusses how information gets lost in translation between experts and laymen including things that arent in control#one of the main points was how things that happen between experts are complicated including debates and findings#that you can only really understand thru research and experience in that field and cant be smoothly shared without it being reworded#and risking some of those key points. or even concepts that are hard to understand that cant be shared at all#like if you tried to tell me about how DNA works using words scientists are familiar with but i am NOT- i risk missing concepts that i need#to understand to know how it works on the level you understand. or i risk having it reworded and understanding it but not on that level#AND IT DOES TIE TO WITCH HAT THE WITCH AND NORMAL FOLK COMMUNITIES I PROMISE. ITS SO INTERESTING#anyway i spent hours reading back thru that conversation and i might as well admit it goes for almost every fun conversation i have#and it might be the 20mg of adderall in my body but i am in such a state of peace and love i have to verbalize it. ahh#yapping

"Wait what? You have a crush on Peter?"
Well, your brother had just found out you're crushing on his best friend when he saw the bespectacled boy's name written on your notebook, right next to your study notes as the two of you are studying for an exam.
"Y-yeah... though I've never told anyone until you found out about it because I'm scared Flash will make fun of me for liking the "dweeb" he loves to pick! If Flash was the one who finds out, I'm sure he'll constantly tease and embarrass me about it."
I mean, sure, Flash Thompson is the biggest bully in school and you find him really annoying but at least you have your brother by your side.
"What's the matter, Harry?" you asked once you saw a frown in his face.
"I'm not sure if Dad would like this or not. I mean, I'm your brother and you're in love with my best friend, who he seems to like more than me. It's not like I hate you dating Peter or anything, because I'm actually glad you both found each other, Y/N." he said, hugging you.
Being Harry's sibling, at least he has someone who can truly reassure that he's loved and will always be enough despite what he believed. Both you and Harry's relationship with your father is complicated, to say the least. You love him but at the same time also think that he tends to be a little harsh on your brother, which was the reason why he often tried hard to make his dad approve him.
In return, he feels more safe because of your presence. Even if your family's a wealthy one, you've never been one to flaunt off your wealth to everyone in school as you just wanted to be a rich yet humble person, someone well loved for their kindness instead of money.
You find Peter to be a really nice guy, despite his "dweeb-y" demeanor. He's a really great guy to talk and confide to, and treats you really well, which is a really pleasant surprise!
He's a little intimidated by the fact that you're one of Norman Osborn's kids, but nevertheless he admires the man and loves you for you and not your status or money.
"You're the sweetest rich kid I've ever met, Y/N. I'm serious."
"Shut up, Pete, you're adorable."
This is where things get really interesting, because you told your dad that you'll introduce your new boyfriend to him, and so Peter's invited for tonight's Osborn family dinner.
"You're gonna be fine, Petey, don't worry. There's still me and Harry in case you feel uncomfortable, you know?" you reassured.
"I know. It's just I've never dated someone before you."
Dinner's being prepared and your dad's currently seated in front of you, with Harry besides him. You've told him about your new boyfriend coming over for dinner, so the three of you are patiently waiting for Peter to arrive.
"Seems like you're happy to see Peter." Norman said, snapping you out of your little daze. "It's been so long since when I first adopted you, and I still remember you being a little baby. Now, look at you dating your brother's best friend." he let out a chuckle right as the doorbell rang.
"I think Peter's here, Y/N."
You immediately rushed to the mansion's front door and opened the door. There, Peter's standing still with a small grin on his face.
"Just the right time, Pete."
Soon, you lead him to the dinner table and he made sure to greet your dad and brother (or his best friend) before making himself comfortable in the seat next to you.
So far, the dinner's going well! Your dad, while can be questionably busy with his work, managed to have a good chat with Peter. He asked him questions about how did he meet you, how it's like to date you, and all that.
"Y/N's a sweet kid. I love how they're one of the few people at school to never pick on me, other than your son and Mary Jane."
"That's great to hear, Peter. Now, were you nervous at the fact that you're dating an Osborn? And secondly, how are your parents like?"
"Kind of, Mr. Osborn. My parents died when I was young, so I lived with my aunt and uncle for the majority of my life now. Though don't worry, I'm fine with my Uncle Ben and Aunt May, I really love living with them.
"I see. I've raised Harry and Y/N by myself after my wife passed away. When Harry was 1, I adopted Y/N so that Harry won't feel lonely and the two have been inseparable ever since."
"I never got to see my mom at all, but at least I have Harry." you added, making Peter pat your shoulder in his attempt to comfort you.
Sometimes Harry would join in and tell embarrassing stories about you to Peter, much to your dismay.
"Hey Pete, did you know that Y/N one time got lost in Oscorp when they were a kid?"
"Shut up, Harry. I was a kid, okay? Do you really expect a little child to know all about Oscorp's building just like that?"
Norman cleared his throat. "Kids, please."
But the room soon went quiet when Norman said this to your boyfriend.
"Well, Peter, I really appreciate you for treating my Y/N well and for being a good man." he firmly said, his gaze towards Peter matching his stern tone. "But if you break their heart, I will not hesitate to make you pay for what happened. Otherwise, I'm really glad that you've taken interest in my child and I want you to make them happy."
"I won't, Mr. Osborn."
"Good."

Could you do a fic where Peter 1 meets the Harry of his universe and talks to Peter 2&3 about it maybe Mary Janes also there
or
Maybe he meets Peter twos Harry if he survived this time since Norman was cured
“Petey! We were just wondering when you’d get back. How’d it go?” Peter Three piped up as soon as Peter One came through the door. “Did you tell her? Are you and your MJ back on?”
“Uh…no, sorry,” Peter One murmured, though despite his failure, he didn’t look as dejected as usual. He looked more pensive, unsure. “I got kind of, uh…sidetracked.”
“Now where have I heard that one before?” Mary Jane chuckled ruefully with a nudge of her elbow against Peter Two, who couldn’t help but blush. “Well, how was she anyway? Did it seem like Michelle was doing okay?”
“Y-Yeah, I think so, but I didn’t actually get to talk to her. Like I said, I got distracted. There was someone else there.”
Peter Three winced in anticipation. “Oof, not an ex, I hope. You know you can’t trust that Liz Allan girl. Selling you out to the tabloids as soon the world saw your face is 100% not rebound material.”
“No, no, it wasn’t even anybody I knew before,” Peter admitted. “Actually, I think it was somebody you guys knew. There was a long line, he was in front of me and I happened to see the game he was playing on his phone. It’s a hidden object game where you look for clues to solve parts of an overarching mystery and—well, never mind that part. I had already played the scene he was on and he couldn’t find a couple of the clues so I pointed them out. After that he wanted my help with the next few puzzles.”
“And being the gold-hearted giver that you always are, you couldn’t say no?” Peter Three predicted.
Normally Peter One would have taken that as a compliment but his smile was more like a grimace. “Yeah, well, I sat with him, just talking and playing. We even joined each other’s in-game teams so we could gift each other advantages. It was all fine and normal, it was fun! I haven’t had that much fun with anybody but you guys since…since Ned.”
“Peter, if you feel like you’re ‘replacing’ Ned, please don’t,” Two chided gently. “You’re allowed to make new friends while you’re still figuring out how to talk to him.”
“That’s exactly what I was trying to tell myself but…then MJ called out the guy’s order.” He fidgeted, glancing meaningfully between his brothers. “Harry Osborn.”
Peter Two stiffened, Mary Jane lost a bit of color in her face and Peter Three shot upright on his cot. “What?”
“Yeah. Apparently he exists in my universe too. When I heard his name, I had no idea what to think.” Lips pursing, Peter One shook his head in frustration. “I-I kind of still don’t. He seems nice but I don’t exactly have the best track record, trusting ‘nice’ people. It just seems like none of us can make a good friend, a real friend without it getting ruined. Just look at Mysterio—and what about everything the Harry Osborns did in your worlds? I couldn’t just sit with that and pretend to stay cool so while he was up at the counter getting his drink, I booked it outta there.”
“You ditched him?” Mary Jane couldn’t help but sound a little dismayed.
“I know, not my proudest moment. Now he’s messaging me in the team group chat asking what happened and I have no idea what to say. How can I talk to him again? This guy who supposedly called himself your best friend, he tried to kill you both!”
“Yeah, but…I don’t know, maybe this one could be different?” Peter Three suggested tentatively. Peter One could only sigh.
“Come on, we’re three-for-three on being Spider-Man. Who’s to say Harry Osborn wouldn’t be three-for-three on betraying us if I let him get anywhere near me?”
Peter Two shared an unreadable glance with his MJ before shaking his head. “What do you want us to say, Peter?”
“Well, would you trust him?”
“You know I can’t really answer that. We only know the Harry from our worlds and neither of them was this one. I don’t know what it means that you crossed paths with him, Pete, but…if he’s nice, if you think you might make good friends, you could give it a shot. I regret what happened between me and my world’s Harry every day. For all we know, this could be the universe where Peter Parker and Harry Osborn become friends and stay friends.”
“But what if it isn’t? What if he’s exactly the same?”
“We’re all Peter Parker, we’re all Spider-Man,” Peter Three allowed, “but are we all exactly alike?”
“…No.”
“Right. Brown eyes, brown eyes, blue eyes. Curly hair, straight hair, short hair. You wouldn’t jump to judge Peter Parker’s books by their covers when we don’t even have the same covers.”
“I’m one of the multiverse’s MJs just as much as Michelle is,” Mary Jane added, “and our lives couldn’t be more different if we tried. The fact that you started with a Ned Leeds as your best friend and not a Harry at all means that this Harry’s relationship with Peter Parker has already diverged from the others. So why don’t you want to give it a try?”
Peter One swayed uncertainly, unable to quite meet their eyes. “I guess I just…don’t want to get hurt again…”
“That’s the risk we take with every relationship,” Peter Two murmured, MJ snuggling deeper into his side.
“That’s the risk I took when I told you guys I loved you,” Three concurred, a small, rueful laugh escaping him. “All you said back then was ‘Thank you’ and yet look at us now!”
“If you genuinely don’t want to talk to him again, you don’t have to. But we don’t want you to miss out on something that could be good because of our pasts. We want better things for you.”
Peter One found himself hard-pressed to swallow the tightness that surfaced in his throat. That sentiment seemed to be a multiversal constant.
I just wanted to be like you.
And I wanted you to be better.
Maybe…this would be a chance to prove that he could be.

None of this was supposed to happen.
Tonight was supposed to be nice, calm… relaxing.
I had packed my books into my backpack and got into Michael's car, he made jokes and told me about his newest discoveries, ideas, and random musicals he discovered recently. It was nice, a fun conversion and a good distraction. I was to be studying with Micheal in the school library, though neither of us really had any intentions of studying it seemed. But most plan to study, they say they’re going to study, but it’s just a guise, a lie, a cover up for what some wish to do. We wished to do some sinful making out, it seemed as he pushed his lips against mine.
I was happy, glad to reciprocate.
Though I was still surprised, I hadn’t even known his feelings for me, we were talking about school subjects then suddenly kissing.
I’ve had a crush on him for a while now, but tonight… I finally did something about it.
I finally kissed and confessed.
It was 7:03…
We didn’t get to savor our time… sadly. But that’s when everything was starting.
Everything unfolding so fast.
None of us knew at the time what was occurring… we still don’t know what’s occurring right now.
I’m just sitting with Freddy in some empty classroom, waiting… Micheal left with his brother Chucky, Patrick went with them…
There’s tension in the air… hoping the three are alright, that nothing bad has happened… it’s dumb to be so terrified, so scared that they won’t come back.
I don’t know how long we’ve been waiting. I haven’t paid enough attention to the time at this point. Freddy’s constant pacing is also a bit distracting… but a good distraction. It keeps my brain from running wild.
But I couldn’t be afraid, nothing was happening… but… something still had already happened before.
After making out with Michael… We had been interrupted.
First by the lights, they suddenly went out along with the power. The cause still unknown…
But… Then there was the scream.
Norman’s scream we discovered. Though it hadn’t been a good discovery.
We had run out of the room, running into Patrick. He scared the shit out of us.
Dark hallways where the only thing you had to see your way was weak phone flashlights. A dark figure behind us… which turned out to be Patrick.
He too had heard the screams...
Nobody knew what was happening… All of us were cautious as we walked down the dark school halls. None of us sure what to expect ahead.
Though I think what we saw was the last thing we would ever expect.
Chucky sitting on the floor, knees pulled against his chest, seemingly in shock and unresponsive. Freddy kneeling next to him patting his head.
Then the horror that laid beyond them.
A sight… I can’t get out of my head. It’ll probably be nightmare fuel for months when we finally get out of this god forsaken place.
Blood, it pooled all over the ground. Norman’s head on the floor next to the door to the basement, his body nowhere to be seen… but presumably, behind the door where most of the blood was seeping out from.
He had been… beheaded by the door. He probably had only managed to get out the scream we had heard before his life was cut short.
Micheal had quickly of course checked on his brother, they were twins, and close. Even if they always seemed to be fighting and acting like they hated each other. I can’t imagine either would react well to either one being hurt.
Chucky and Norman had been together in the basement… He refused to tell anything more.
But now I’m waiting with Freddy.
Chucky had gained more stability in recognizing his surroundings, coming out of his shocked state... Then he decided to go to find a weapon, presumably to somehow fight against the force that nobody have seen, the force nobody knows anything about. Well… except Chucky… he might know something, not that he mentioned.
I decided to stay back with Freddy.
But… I think something’s wrong now.
They’ve been gone far too long, unless that’s simply just my anxieties wishing they’d finally be back. I’m scared, I just want to leave. I don’t understand why these idiots want to fight whatever or whoever killed Norman. I want to find the exit and get the fuck out of here.
But clearly we’re all idiots, because we’ve stayed, and we’ve split up.
I don’t know why we haven’t gone to the closest exit of this place, I wish we’d just leave. But no apparently we have to stay in the creepy school where our friend died and we suspect someone is coming to kill us…
Earlier after finding Chucky and… Norman… We had tried to call the EMS… We tried to call them. All of us called, all on different phones. But the call wouldn't go through. Every call we made just wouldn’t work, it wouldn’t even ring. Our contact has been cut off from outside this place.
I don’t think Norman is going to be the last dead here. I think he’s only the first… and I’m terrified.
Norman had always been nice, I don’t know too much about him. But he had always seemed introverted, anxious, smart, and he had a quite gothic aesthetic, a bit like mine but much less refined.
I always saw Norman close to Chucky, they were close friends. Always hanging out. Chucky has always been slightly unhinged, odd… They balanced each other out, you could always find them near each other too… I guess they could have been closer than friends, not that Norman being completely beheaded helps any of that.
But I heard rumors… Chucky was going to try summoning some ghosts.
God, I swear if all of this is his fucking fault I’ll kill him before this entity kills him. Fucking idiot summoning ghosts? I don’t really believe in them, but honestly… If they are real and Chucky managed to summon a killer one, I will kill him. Why can’t he have some fucking normal hobby, like stamp collecting, or cheese tasting, or even vandalism.
Shit, I’d love a grilled cheese right now. ___________________
10/13 8:37pm
Freddy is now suggesting we stop waiting… he wants to leave and get a weapon of his own. Another idiot suggesting splitting up. As if that’s not the worst idea ever in all horror movies.
I know that more people are going to die at this point with all this stupidity around. Who splits up in situations like this?
I get that he can’t wait any longer, but still, why don’t we just try to leave?
Why don’t we just find an exit out of this school, and then head home! Why haven’t we tried that yet?
But I’ll follow… It has been a long time.
I miss my idiot, Michael, that lovable idiot… I’m missing him right now.
But I’m done waiting, I’m going to go with Freddy now. ________________
10/13 8:50pm
Something’s wrong. Something’s very wrong.
We found Michael, or well… he found us.
I was walking down the hall behind Freddy who decided to run. But I really didn’t feel like running, it’s not like my shoes were made for it, they’re made for looking nice. Plus honestly running isn’t my thing, it’s not like we’ll die any slower if we run. I’d rather not get all sweaty and out of breath.
But something’s wrong with Michael. He came back alone, he told us that Patrick and Charles died, that Patrick burned to death by fire and Charles died by being burned by chemicals…
But he sounded so emotionless, so unaffected. It could be grief… but I think there's more wrong. He called Chucky, Charles… it doesn’t sound like anything big or that should be of concern. But… I’ve never heard him use Chucky’s full name.
He’s not himself, even if you can chalk that up to trauma and shock…
It’s just… Micheal doesn’t seem right, I can’t explain it. He just… I feel weird around him, uncomfortable. I don’t know why.
I should give him the benefit of the doubt, his brother just died in front of him, he just witnessed two deaths.
Even if he’s not showing any emotions, he could be in shock.
I’m probably jumping to conclusions. I’m just happy he’s safe, and alive. ___________________
10/13 9:15pm
We’re saved… well
Me and Michael have been saved.
Freddy didn’t make it.
He had run into the gym equipment room, and ran to grab a bat. He had gotten his hands on his new weapon. Only to be brutally beaten down by the rest of the bats formerly hanging on racks connected to the wall, blood everywhere. I saw his body drop lifeless. His head shattered open.
But now, the EMS are here. I don’t know how they knew, but they’re here.
Maybe our phone calls had gone through, maybe they had gotten alerts from our calls and saw the location.
We’re saved. I’m relieved… though… I can’t help but feel a bit of dread.
Something still isn’t right with Michael, something is wrong with him. ________________
10/13 9:25pm
The police had pulled us both to the side, questioning us. But I… I couldn't answer anything.
I don’t know what’s happening, I still don’t know what’s going on.
I’m… scared deep down. I know I am. But I’m not going to let the fear out. I’m strong enough.
It’s irrational. I’m only scared because I don’t understand.
But investigators will figure this out. Then I’ll be relieved. ________________
10/13 9:40pm
I’m in Michael’s car, he’s driving me back home.
I asked him to stay the night. I don’t want to be left alone after everything.
But before we got into the car he seemed off.
He asked if I was afraid, I told him I wasn’t not with him around… it had seemed… I don’t want to believe it.
But it had seemed that after he was saying that I should be afraid. ________________
10/13 10:13pm
We’re back at my house, I got into some comfy clothes, I need to relax.
This will all just be a bad dream in the morning. I’ll delete these notes, it’ll all just be a bad nightmare.
Micheal is borrowing some of my bed clothes and is laying down.
I’m just in the bathroom finishing everything.
I should probably get back to him before he gets impatient.
Honestly though, cuddles sound great right now especially after everything that’s happened today. _________________

I’m
Bleeding out
Michael is dead, he has been for awhile.
But who I’ve been with.
He’s not michael.
He left, because I’m dying, bleeding out with my throat slit.
He knows I can’t be saved… so he’s gone.
Spellcheck saving my writing tbh
It hurts so much.
But he’s not Michael.
He’s not my Micheal.
The Michael I knew wouldn’t slit my throat and disappear. His eyes… they were bright red, he had horns, claws, and wings.
He was a monster…
A demon.
 He told me himself he wasn’t Micheal… that Michael was a vessel.
I have no time left, he cut deep… I may have a few minutes.
But I know
He feeds on fear
And he was waiting for me to be afraid.
This isn’t a nightmare or a bad dream. This is real
It’s tru

News Reports say that the notes of Jason V. are over exaggerated. That he was impaired from shock. Psychologists agree, he had been severely impaired from shock. When met at the school after he had escaped he had been observed with symptoms of shock by EMS on the scene.
This morning, the body of Jason V. the only survivor who escaped the school was discovered in his home, throat slit and blood covering his bed, his phone in his hands. Reports state could have been alive for 6-8 minutes before dying.
Officials have linked the murder of Jason V. with the murders Freddy K, Patrick B, Norman B, Michael M, and brother Chucky M.
Though the body of Micheal M. was found inside the school building down in the west basement in the cafeteria it is unknown who exactly had left the building with Jason V. The Victim had been spotted leaving with someone resembling Micheal M. it is unknown who he had actually been.
The murderer wasn’t found and there was no evidence who had committed the murders of all 6 victims.
School is to resume in a month after a deep clean of the building and an investigation into the deaths.

4. Your family and the convention.
You've been at your parents' house for several weeks. It's a routine you've had since you finished the second season working on TWD. Although you got a good and cheap apartment in New York, until you got that money you had traveled to your parents' house after every long period of shooting and now you continue doing it, you don't stay so long since you have your own house, but you like to spend some days there. You also have a pending thing with Norman.
You're still not sure how you got tricked into this. You had brought him cakes for his birthday and he proposed a motorcycle tour around your town. In fact he didn't want to know the details of the trip, he gave you the number of his buddies who were handling the issue and between the two of you you worked out the route Norman would take. You would both travel on his bike, first you would introduce him to your own town, tell him the anecdotes about the street circuit and then you would make a route to the north and then return to see the new circuit that was just outside the town. You hadn't found many things that would involve biker groups or motorcycle specific routes, but Norman insisted that he didn't care. That he was looking forward to making the trip with you.
"So next week we're having a celebrity over?" your sister asks you when you go up to her bookstore and open the door.
"Sort of, but I'm a little offended, I'm supposed to be a celebrity too."
"Yeah, but you're my sister, I've watched you grow up and I know how glamorous you are." She jokes and you laugh nodding your head.
"Touché...I wish it didn't feel awkward. I mean...I know it's good for business, but try not to have too many people come see him when we're shooting around here."
"Relax, I'm busy this weekend with the little convention we're doing at the theater, I won't have time to show off my future brother-in-law."
"Yeah I kno…What are you talking about!?" You squeal feeling your cheeks burn.
"Don't look at me like that! That guy is smoking hot, he's coming all the way down here to do a show And you mean to tell me you're not going to get in his pants? Yeah, right."
"He's my co-worker! And we're very good friends, he's invited me as he does with many others, I'm not the first and I'm certainly not going to be the last..."
"Yeah, but you like him." She cuts off your argument making you almost bite your tongue.
"That doesn't... that has nothing to do..." You mumble lowering your head.
You feel guilty about how you feel. You and Norman have been friends for many years, you can say that for sure, but a lot has happened since you first shared a conversation and you've realized that yes, you enjoy his company and adore being his friend, but something inside you quirks up differently every time you see him. It excites you and makes you nervous at the same time, you look forward to being a good friend to him and yet every time he is near or you feel him hug you your whole body trembles and your knees go weak. You've tried to avoid him, to ignore him and it hasn't helped. You don't want Norman to know, you don't want him to find out and all is lost because he doesn't feel the same, you don't want to make him feel uncomfortable around you.
You don't want to be one more in the long list of women who fell hopelessly in love with Norman Reedus.
"I finally find you." You hear from behind you and quickly turn around.
"Norman!" Your heart races as he smiles stepping fully into the store.
"Quite a journey you've made me take to get here." He jokes advancing a few steps in your direction.
"B-but what are you doing here?" you ask incredulously. "Isn't the program next week?"
"Yes, but I wanted to come earlier to see you." He shrugs and his arms catch you in a tight embrace. You hide your face in his chest, the smell of smoke and cologne mingle sneaking in through your nose, you smile against his shirt and hug him back tapping his sides to break away from you hearing him chuckle softly. "Besides I saw around that your sister is hosting a convention this weekend, and I didn't want to miss it." He smiles again looking at your sister who watches you two with her mouth open.
"What, really!? Oh thanks Norman, that would be great! People would love to see two TWD characters." She says excitedly bouncing a little on the tips of her toes.
You smile and walk over to her to officially introduce her to Norman, he allows himself to give her a smaller hug and a kiss on the cheek before squeezing her hand with his. Your sister's cheeks are red and she looks a little shy now. You laugh softly and give her a little nudge to get her to react.
"Can I announce it on social media? Maybe we could stretch out the Q&A a bit..." You start mumbling planning the weekend again, actually as a highlight so far I only had you, several well known comic book artists and even some voice actor, but Norman was a big deal. I knew it would move a lot more people.
"You don't have to." You say to Norman as your sister gets engrossed in her business and goes into her office leaving you alone in the store with Norman. "Don't feel obligated."
"I don't feel obligated, I proposed it." He shrugs going through the shelves and picking up one of the TWD comics. "Besides since I'm here, it might be fun."
"You know it's going to be crazy..."
"I'm telling you, I don't mind, really." He smiles and hugs you again making you laugh and feel your cheeks turn a reddish color.
"That's enough, you just got here and you're already groping me." You joke and he laughs pulling away. "You can't keep your hands off me can you?"
"Yeah, you're right." He pulls away a little smiling sheepishly averting his gaze from you.
"Norman, do you mind if I take a picture of you to put on the store website?" Your sister appears again. Your co-worker's attention turns to your sister and nods.
"Yes, come on." He takes her by the hand again and the three of you walk out of the store.
On the store front, next to the door is the sign with the name of your sister's bookstore. Norman hands you your sister's phone number and puts an arm around her shoulders, sticking out his middle finger, resting his chin on her head. Your sister puts an arm around his waist and smiles broadly. Her excited gesture rubs off on you and you take a couple of steps back to take the picture and show it to her later. Norman looks pleased, even your sister.
"Mention me to post it too so more people can see it."
"Thank you very much, Norman." She says walking back into the store bouncing on her own two feet from the excitement that is pulsing in her veins.
You look at your co-worker with a smile nodding his head. Norman just shrugs it all off and shares the post your sister has put on her store's social media.
"How did you get here? have you ridden your bike here yet?"
"I rented a car, I parked it behind the church." He informs you and you nod, entering the store again.
"I'm going to take Norman home, so he can leave his things there." You inform your sister and she nods.
"Okay, I'll come over later for dinner, let mom know."
"Yeah, sure. Come on Norman." You tell him and he looks at you curiously, but follows you.
"Where are we going?"
"We're going to my parents' house, we'll leave your suitcase there, if that's okay with you, and the car, around here you won't need it."
"No, I already realized it's a small town." He smiles and looks around again, amused. "You know what the best part is?" You look at him waiting for him to continue and he adjusts his glasses and cap. "It's been a long time since I've felt this calm, you know, being able to walk around and have no one pounce on me." He laughs and you imitate his gesture understanding what he means.
The good thing about your town that even though they know the show, people are disconnected from the rest of the world, Daryl, Rick, Michonne, Ezekiel, Carol, even your character, are just that, characters, the people behind them don't give a damn. Of course there are teenage girls in love with Daryl Dixon, and not so teenage girls, but they're looking for Daryl Dixon, not Norman Reedus. Which makes it easier to move around without a continuous escort or without having thousands of cameras taking pictures non-stop.
When you get to the car you tell Norman where to go until you get to your parents' house. It was one of the little treats you gave yourself when you started to have more importance in the series. You bought your parents a house. A nice and deserved house, with enough rooms to accommodate the whole family but without being something exaggerated and flashy. They lived on the outskirts of the city, away from the constant noise and bustle of people and you were sure that even their health, for the age they were, was much better now.
You gesture for Norman to stop in front of the huge front door, pull out a small remote from your bag and push the button causing the door to start moving to the side, opening.
"We'll leave it inside and make sure nothing happens to it, or do you want to go with this car in the program?" you ask him as Norman enters the lot and shakes his head, parking next to another car.
"No, we'll ride a motorcycle, if that's okay with you." He looks at you before bringing the car to a complete stop and you nod.
"Yeah, sure, no problem. Come on, didn't you want to marry my mom? Well, let's go meet her."
A small smile full of shyness forms on the actor's mouth, but he finally gets out of the car following you to the front door of the house. There's a man waiting for you, short, no more than five foot five, his hair struggles between gray and a deep jet black for his tall age, his chubby nose holds a pair of glasses and behind them you can see two big, bulging green eyes. Norman gives you a sidelong glance, if he is your father, genetics certainly hasn't given you any of him. At least to the naked eye.
"Hi, Dad."You greet the man and Norman takes off his cap and sunglasses to introduce himself.
"Hi, I thought you'd gone to help your sister."
"Yes, but I had an unexpected visitor." You say looking at Norman and your father follows your gaze having to lift his head to face your co-worker.
Norman has never felt like the tallest man in the world, in fact he feels short when compared to other men his age or older, like Jeffrey, but seeing your father having to raise his head to look at him makes him suddenly feel imposing in front of him.
"Dad, this is Norman, my co-star. I told you guys he was coming to shoot a show around these parts, remember?" You tell the man, stroking his hair with infinite affection.
"Nice to meet you." Norman says and his voice squeaks a little, you look at him in surprise and smile gratefully as you watch him try to communicate with your father.
"Oh, yes, I remember. Nice to meet you Norman." Your father's English isn't much better either and the actor smiles warmly shaking your father's outstretched hand.
"Thank you so much for letting me stay here." Norman tries again and your father nods.
"Just like your home." He lets go of his hand and opens the door letting you into the house.
Norman is the last to enter, you grab his suitcase to take it later to one of the rooms your mother probably already has ready for him. You put it aside when you see her appear with her unmistakable kitchen apron, her blond hair already had a handful of gray hair, her skin is wrinkled by age, but her blue eyes give off a lot of vitality.
Okay, now Norman understands all that hair you always have tangled and messy when you show up on set in the mornings, he smiles and rubs his hands together nervously, your father has been an easier test than he expected, but mothers are always more complicated. He knows.
"Nice to meet you." He repeats the words he's used with your father and you smile looking sideways at him. "Finally." He smiles and you laugh low. "I-I love your food..." You can't contain yourself and laugh loudly as you see your mother's gesture and how she blushes a little.
"Thank you so much, I... I didn't know you were coming so soon, Norman." You feel your mother's inquisitive look and roll your eyes.
"Neither did she, apparently he came alone." Your father explains and you nod.
"Norman is like that."
He doesn't wait for her permission, he walks over to your mother and hugs her warmly. Your mother's eyes widen and she laughs nervously as her hands rest on Norman's back. The woman's gaze shoots up at you with raised eyebrows, grimacing in surprise and you are grateful that Norman can't see her, but he surely feels your mother's hands feeling him up and down, examining him.
"Mom, please..."
"It's just so tight...and muscular." She dares to say knowing that perhaps the man can't understand her. "It's been a long time since I've touched a man so hard..."
"Mom!" You scold her feeling your cheeks burn, Norman breaks away from your mother giving her a kiss on the cheek before returning to your side.
"Don't be so confident, young man." Your father threatens him in a firm voice.
"I'm sorry, it's just..." He sheepishly lowers his head and laughs softly. "I was really looking forward to meeting you."
Norman continues to try to talk to your parents as you carry your co-worker's backpack to the room your mother has already prepared for him. You carefully set the backpack on the bed to return to the dining room and try to rescue the actor from your parents' hands, but the man seems comfortable and engrossed in conversation with them, so you don't bother going to the kitchen to help your mother with dinner while they continue talking.
In the evening you set up a large table in the garden behind the house so you can all share the dinner you have been preparing. Of course Norman is the attraction for everyone. There are many questions, anecdotes and conversations shared with the actor, about you, about your work together, about how things are going and about himself. Norman answers everything without hesitation, smiling, enjoying your mother's food live, also enjoying all the company of your family, getting to know them a little more, telling him some stories too that force you to shut him up and the laughter intensifies.
After dinner and sharing some more time with your family, Norman is exhausted, the flight has been long, the trip there tiring and then meeting your family and learning how your sister's convention was going to work have taken the last of his strength.
You say goodbye to your family and walk him to his room, at least for this week. You open the door to let him in and show him a bit of the layout and the bathroom that the room itself has.
"See you tomorrow, Norman. Get some rest." You tell him, but when you want to leave he holds you back by hugging you again. You smile against his chest trying to calm your beating heart. You wrap your arms around his waist caressing his back affectionately. "Are you okay?"
"Exhausted, it's been a long day." He admits holding you a little tighter against him and you laugh. "But it's been worth it. Your family is very curious." He pulls away from you and caresses your cheeks staring at you, you feel nervous, not sure what is going through his mind, but you let him do it. "Your father wouldn't let me near your mother." He laughs letting go of you and you join him in nodding your head.
"Yeah, it sounds to me like he felt threatened." You joke and squeeze his hands when you're finally able to separate completely. "Rest."
"Yeah, you too." He leans in to kiss your cheek and you mimic him.
You walk out of the room leaving him alone in his room to go to your own, it's been a long day for you too, not as long as your partner's, but you do need to rest. You change your clothes and curl up in your bed falling asleep shortly after.
Norman despite the tiredness and the exhausting day, feels like he can't sleep, his body aches, his head is spinning, he chews on his lower lip several times before getting out of bed and carefully leaving the room. He doesn't want to wake anyone up, he just needs to smoke a little and he'll go back to bed. With the pack of cigarettes in his hand he walks down to the kitchen and carefully opens the door to leave.
"Everything okay, Norman?" The actor's heart almost leaps out of his mouth at the sound of your mother's voice behind him.
"Yes, yes..." He lifts the pack of cigarettes and she smiles in understanding. "I'm sorry, I don't... uhm..." he tries to search for the words in his head, but your mother shakes her head.
"It's okay, Norman, take it easy, good night." She waves goodbye to him and Norman doesn't move until he stops hearing the woman's footsteps and his heart returns to its place.
The rest of the week you spend getting to know the town, showing him a bit of the interesting things there, Norman absorbs all the information you give him by simply listening carefully. The weekend comes quickly and the convention attracts more people than you expect. The interview panels and signings with the actors and cartoonists are in the theater, but the rest of the activities take place in the old Market right next to the theater making it easy to get from one side to the other, with many booths with different things. Norman goes through the different booths before people start arriving and it is difficult to access. People who see him and know him stop him to take pictures with him and get posters, t-shirts, and even some DVDs of his movies or the series signed. You have your little group of onlookers too, but the main attention falls on Norman.
You're in the theater because it's your turn to go out to the Q&A panel. You're nervous, it's not the first time, but you always have that feeling before the panel starts. Norman next to you squeezes your hands trying to calm you down. His lips crash against your cheek and you feel better. You smile in gratitude for his affection and squeeze his hands between yours.
"What do you think they're going to ask us?" you whisper listening to your sister talking to the audience before introducing you.
"I don't know, but it sure is fun."
"My sister has the video of the new season, surely people have already seen it online, but..."
"Have you seen it?" she looks at you curiously and you shake your head. Norman opens the curtain a bit without anyone seeing you and points to the huge screen where your sister is going to play the video.
You both look over and when the lights go out the images start jumping from one scene to another in no specific order. You hear the raspy voice of 'Daryl', you also hear Michonne or Rick. Suddenly the succession of images stops to show a scene in which your character and Norman's character are staring at each other.
"Promise me you'll come back."
"I promise."
The video ends as your characters kiss, you tense up enormously not expecting that in the video. The lights illuminate the theater again and your sister's voice ushers you in, Norman makes you react and you both walk out onto the stage being greeted by screams, applause and cheers, you even hear some compliments thrown towards the actor playing Daryl. You approach your sister, hug her and Norman kisses her on the cheek with affection, you sit on the small sofa that your sister has placed on the stage right next to the couch where she also sits to interview you. The crowd continues to shout and call out to Norman who turns around greeting everyone with a wide smile, his eyes shining brightly.
When the crowd calms down your sister does a little interview with you before giving the floor for people to start with their questions, they are questions in general, how are you, what has the series meant for you, if you are excited about the new season. There is a very nice little rhythm between the three of you and the audience, a dynamic and fun conversation even making those who have come to see you laugh. You are grateful that Norman is with you as he seems more comfortable with it all.
When your sister finishes the interview and you don't have much more to add, the round of questions begins. There is a prepared microphone controlled by a moderator who gives way to your sister for people to ask questions. The first questions are simple, a contact shot before people dare to ask what they really want to know.
"My question is for both of you: what was it like to start working together? Because it's always said that you're like family, but you came in the third season, did it get weird?" they ask you and you laugh nodding your head in agreement, however you see Norman get a mischievous grin and raise his microphone.
"Oh yeah, let's just say our first contact wasn't very friendly, was it?" he laughs looking at you and you feel your cheeks burn.
"That's not..."
"What happened?" your sister insists, she knows perfectly well what happened, you called her full of shame and remorse that very day.
"Are you telling or me?" Norman asks you, of course it's rhetorical, because before you say anything, he keeps talking. "You insulted my intelligence."
"I didn't...! You showed up out of the blue asking me if I was sick!" You try to defend yourself by listening to the audience laugh.
"You were there in the middle that you looked like you were going to faint!" he reminds you and you laugh along with the crowd. "Then he spent two months after that behind me apologizing to me for it." Again the laughter intensified and you covered your face with both hands.
"I hate you."
"We both know you don't." He laughs and takes one of your hands kissing it. People cheer at that, he doesn't seem to mind, but you feel a little suffocated.
"You two are obviously getting along better now." Your sister brings some order to the room and you both nod, your hands still clasped. "Let's get on with the questions." She says letting someone else speak.
"Norman, we've heard a lot of rumors about new projects you have, can you tell us something, why exactly are you here?"
"Oh yeah, I've heard a lot of rumors too, what have you heard about?" he jokes making people snort again in amusement. "Yeah, well, to tell you the truth I'm involved in my own projects now, I mean, other than Daryl right now I'm not working with any other scripts, but we are starting to shoot new episodes of 'Ride with Norman', have you seen it?" cheerfully everyone answers in the affirmative. "Gee, are you guys just as effusive about everything?" jokes your sister to which a coy giggle escapes and you smack your forehead. Then the little sister is you. "I'm around because we're going to shoot some stuff, and you're going to accompany me." She points at you and people let out complicit exclamations and the occasional whistle. "Nah, don't think so, I've seen her sleep and she's no princess."
"Hey!" You punch him in the arm pretending to be offended and again people are amused by your interactions. "Don't think he's in a very good mood when he gets up either."
"You clearly know each other very well." Speaks another person who has been approached with the microphone. "Was it hard for you guys to do the scene we saw? Because there's clearly kissing..." Again insinuating whistles echo throughout the room.
"She forgot her line." An exclamation of surprise struck the theater dumb. "We had to improvise. It's the Reedus effect." He scoffs and people laugh with him, you cover your face with both hands feeling like you're going to burst.
"Well, it's not your first kiss with a TWD guy, is it? There were rumors of your relationship with Tom Payne." Another voice is heard on the other end of the microphone and Norman turns to look at you, his eyebrows raised in surprise.
He didn't know.
"Me and Tom didn't last too long..." You admit looking sideways at Norman. "We're good friends, we didn't want to mess that up...besides it's not like kissing the great Daryl Dixon." You joke and everyone seems to agree, but the smile Norman gives you isn't sincere and you get scared.
You can't say you know each and every one of Norman's expressions, but you know that gesture is a smile out of commitment, but there's something in his head that's messing with his head and you're not sure what it is.
The rest of the questions are normal, nothing compromising, people don't keep harping on the kiss between your character and Daryl, yet you sense some tension in Norman, but he hasn't looked back at you after he discovered your moment with Payne.
"You have no right to be mad, asshole." He says to himself rubbing his face with both hands as he walks out of the theater after your little panel.
For today you are done, people are making their last purchases in the merchandising area, you guys are done signing, only the last stragglers are left and you can go home. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cell phone, he knows it's an hour when maybe Mingus is still busy, but he tries. He dials his number and walks away a bit so he can talk to him.
"Dad?" He hears on the other end. "Hey, hi, how was the convention?"
"Good, more intense than I expected..." he sighs taking out a cigarette and the first puff completely engulfs him.
"Is everything okay? do you need to talk?"
"I'm a dick." He says matter-of-factly. "I have no right to be angry, she can do whatever she wants, but... God I feel like punching Tom..." He confesses.
"Oh..." Mingus' voice trails off and Norman freezes looking at his phone for a moment and then puts it back to his ear.
"Did you know!" He questions him hallucinating.
"She told me, yeah, I thought you knew too...it was no big deal..."
"She...!" He bites his tongue in time not to scream again and looks around, takes another puff on his cigarette wanting to temper his nerves. "She never told me...why? I knew about her other asshole boyfriends...Is it that Tom did something to her?"
"No! It's not that dad, maybe she'd be embarrassed because he was a mate, I don't know dad, but yeah you're a bit of a prick for taking offence like that, a few days ago you had a friend in your apartment, remember?"
"I know, I know. I have no right to... get like that, but I thought she trusted me..." He says that last thing with a made up voice.
"And trust you, Dad, don't make a bigger deal out of it than it might be..."
"Norman." You call out to him, tapping him on the shoulder. Norman turns to you feeling uncovered but you smile kindly at him. "Sorry, I didn't know you were..."
"It's Mingus." He hastens to clarify. "Well son we'll talk, thanks for calling." He says quickly and hangs up.
"Poor Mingus, you didn't need to hang up on him so quickly." You laugh, but you're nervous, Norman is nervous, you can see it in his tense face, in how he's holding his cigarette and in the twitching of his leg.
"No, it's okay, it was nothing important, what's wrong?"
"Nothing... you're... you're fine?" you dare to get a little closer and pull his bangs back.
"Yeah, it's not... it's just that I'm a dick." He sighs long. "Don't make a big deal out of it, shall we go home?"
"Yeah, my sister's already finished picking everything up, I'll help her take it to the store tomorrow."
"Okay, I'll give you a hand too."
You smile gratefully and see his face change again, there's something still stirring inside him, but it's okay, it's no longer the same smile he showed you before, so you relax. You both go back inside, help your sister and go back to your parents' house to sleep for the rest of the day. You are both exhausted, physically and mentally.
When your mother arrives home a feast awaits you, your mother has made sure you are all well fed. As the night before, taking advantage of the nice weather, dining outdoors is pleasant and you can stretch the after-dinner conversation. Slowly everyone leaves, even your sister returns home to say goodbye to you, thanking you again for helping her with the convention, and you and Norman remain at the table. Your co-worker dares to light a cigarette and you finish the last morsel left on your plate. You both remain silent, but you know something is still on his mind, the way he touches his lip with his thumb holding the cigarette lets you know he's turning something over in his head.
"You want to tell me about it?" You say suddenly, you see his pupils vibrate bringing him back to reality, he blinks a couple of times and fixes his attention on you, you smile. "Everything okay?"
"Yeah, just... I was thinking..." He starts to say and takes a long drag on his cigarette. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asks you swallowing the smoke, holding it in his lungs for a few seconds. "You didn't trust me?"
"What? are you talking about Tom?" you reply and you see him avert his gaze licking his lips with the tip of his tongue. "No... No! Of course I am, I..." You shrug not knowing what to say. "It wasn't... it wasn't important..."
"I knew about... the other assholes you were dating..." You try to justify your discomfort, but you remember Mingus' words, you have no right to be harping and nagging about it, but you can't help it.
"I know, but... Well we weren't hiding it either, it just... it only lasted a few months, then we each found another way... I don't know Norman, I'm sorry."
"No, God you don't have to apologize to me, I..." He rubs his forehead with his palm. "Just forget it, okay? It was a stupid question."
You stare at him, the nervousness is still in him, but he tries to disguise it with a small smile, he pulls out his phone and points it at the sky taking a picture of the moon. You sigh, you know the conversation has been left there, Norman is not going to bring it up again, and he will avoid it as much as he can. Yet you feel that there is a gap to be filled, something that has suddenly planted itself in the middle of the two of you. You can feel that strange distance and you don't know what to do.
To be Continued...
I hope you liked it!
See you in the next chapter!

Harry Osborn x Parker!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: This was kind of the crack fever dream type of imagine so like don’t judge me
Harry has a YouTube channel that’s pretty popular
Cuz let’s be honest who doesn’t want to watch a rich kid blog about his life
One day he’s planning a challenge to do with his best friend
i.e. Peter Parker
Unfortunately, though, Peter had to go and save the world
So, he sent you in his place
Now Peter knew Harry would be upset that he had to bail on him
Again
But sending you in place of him was a very smart move on Peter’s part
Because he knew about the crush that Harry had on you
And while he didn’t appreciate it
Or even understand it to be honest
He still used it to his advantage
So, when you show up at Harry’s door with a wide smile and apology donuts from Peter, Harry has no choice but to let you in
And that’s how you end up filming a cooking challenge with Harry
“Hey guys so even though I told you my best friend would be here, unfortunately he couldn’t make it so I have something even better! Here’s (Y/N)!”
The two of you actually have a blast playing this game
Halfway through Harry starts taking questions from twitter
“What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done for each other?” Harry read from his phone while you tried to get the sauce jar open
He grabbed it and did it for you
“Hmmm I pretended to be your girlfriend because there was a girl at school who wouldn’t stop sitting in your lap?”
Harry burst into laughter after hearing that, nearly dropping his phone
“I forgot about that!”
While you were still recording, he asked you what you wanted for your birthday this year
“Hmm a jet.”
He laughed, chopping a few vegetables
“What colour?”
“Really?”
“No. But seriously, what do you want for your birthday?”
“Money?”
He laughed this time
“Are you so greedy?”
“Yep, little rich boy, I want all your cash.”
It was kinda quiet after that while the two of you were silently cutting vegetables before you spoke up
“Hey, Harry?”
“Hm?”
“If I married you, would I get half your money?”
You didn’t even look up to see Harry blush bright red and hold a hand to his chest trying to calm his heart
And in the most strained voice
“Yep.”
“Cool, let’s have a summer wedding.”
The whole video is filled with you both flirting this way
The editors had such a great time editing this video
And when it finally got posted his fans absolutely loved it
It being such a hit that you show up in more videos with Harry
You ended up doing a lot of challenges together
Smoothie challenge
Pizza Challenge
Letting the person ahead of you choose what to order
Shopping spree under one minute
Every challenge under the face of the sun has been done by the two of you
Everybody talking about how the two of you should start dating
I mean Everybody
Like a hundred different students coming up to you on Monday morning asking if you’re dating Harry Osborn
And the whole time you’re like
“Nope, not dating him.”
Peter is kind of fed up because there are like a hundred people he knows who are asking him about it
Aunt May also saw a few tweets about it
Harry actually feeling so apologetic about it but you just brush it off saying that it’s fine
Him actually asking you out later and you wondering if he’s doing it cuz people are pressuring him
So, you say no
And he’s super upset by it
So upset that Peter actually ends up hearing him talk about it for like 6 hours
Before he thinks he’s had just about enough of this and goes to tell you that Harry is actually crazy about you
He’s just like “I know he’s my best friend but please get him off my hands.”
And then you agree to date him
And Peter isn’t sure if he should be happy about it
“You’re my best friend, Harry but I’m not sure I like you enough to be my brother.”
But the two of you are pretty happy so who cares about what Peter thinks right?
Harry actually spooling you but you being like stop I’m not with you for your money
“I have actual recorded footage of you asking to marry me for the money.”
He’s so sweet to you
Pretty touch starved so he loves cuddling and you really don’t protest
The kind of boyfriend who won’t really notice when something is wrong unless you tell him
But he’s also the type who calls you beautiful just because
Peter gets sick of being the third wheel very quickly
You would think that Norman would have been snooty and rude to you
But he’s actually so cool about your relationship
After he got de-goblinized he was even better to you
The three of you actually did a challenge on YouTube together
It was incredibly awkward
But hey fans found it funny so why not
After a while the channel stopped being his and actually became both of yours
But the two of you love vlogging and things like that so it’s kind of worth it
Being literal high school sweethearts even though Harry graduated a year ahead of you
Harry picked you up from school in a limo every other day because he wants to show other guys that you’re his
You didn’t feel the need to do the same
Until one day someone brought to your attention that the girls in his college was very pretty
So, you ended up picking him up from college the next day
And then making out in the backseat of the limo
While it is difficult putting your relationship online
You also like to show him off and you love the community the two of you have
Dating all the way through college
Fans making compilations of the two of you
‘Harry and (Y/N) being in love for 24 minutes straight’
“Harry and (Y/N) being couple goals’
There was this one time that Harry was doing an Instagram live from his bed
Fans practically freaked out once they noticed you were sleeping beside him
Peter freaking out too and telling him to send you home
Tries to get Aunt May to call you home
But she’s just like
“They’re adults they can do whatever they want”
So, Peter does the responsible and mature thing
Goes all the way over to Harry’s penthouse to supervise
Harry just ignoring him and going back to sleep while cuddling you
And Peter tries to stay outside and spy
But he ends up feeling weird and embarrassed so he lets himself out
And you crack open one eye like
“Is he gone yet?”
Dating Harry Osborn is really fun and there’s always something new
It’s very refreshing to be with him
And also, you always feel loved

bill turner (childhood friend of theirs) telling paul he didn't like hello, goodbye and paul being taken back by that
the beatles bought pete a car (jaguar to be specific)
john was very insecure around girls and never knew if they liked him or not
john thinking his housekeeper would assume him and pete were having sex because they were laying next to each other
pete was actually happy at first when john and yoko got together because john was happy
any time john and pete would be laughing together yoko would silence John
the beatles had to constantly tell ringo he was the best rock drummer in the world before he agreed to join the band again
paul asking pete if hey jude or revolution should be on the A side, pete saying hey jude, and then paul immediately screaming to john that pete picked his song over john’s.
there was so many arguments with yoko that would have to be another post itself but i will say it’s awful
george running after the press in his backyard because he took a photo of him while the police chase george around to arrest him for possession of drugs
“remember pete, they can't kill you for speaking your mind.” - john lennon
when pete found out about john’s death he went to visit george
“on the drive back home, memories of john flooded into my head. what a life, i thought.” <3

Tumblr media
Echo smiled, laying next to Y/n on the bunk, body bare and only covered by a blanket, sharing with Y/n.
"That..." Y/n spoke with a deep breath, "Was...new..."
Echo chuckled, he had finally gotten back to Y/n, and things returned to how they were almost immediately.
"So were you," Echo spoke rubbing his shoulders and neck, prominent bite marks had scabbed over quickly where Y/n once drank sips of his blood.
"Yeah, sorry about that." Y/n apologized.
"Don't apologize," Echo told him, "I'm not saying I didn't like it."
Leaning up he kissed Y/n's lips, Y/n returning the favor. Echo pulled away with a chuckle.
"Love you."
"Love you too."
Echo smiled, Y/n shifting under him slightly to get more comfortable, his arm around Echo's shoulder one arm behind his head relaxing, his eyes even closing as if he was going to sleep.
"Y/n," Echo grabbed his attention.
"Hm?" he asked with closed eyes, chest rising and falling steadily, skin warm.
"Can, we talk about it?"
"Bout what baby?" Y/n questioned.
Baby, that nickname, returning from the grave, he had never thought he'd hear that come from Y/n's chest, "About, our past, like we use to."
Y/n rubbed Echo's shoulder, "There's still not much to talk about."
Echo frowned, not much to talk about? Perhaps he just didn't want to talk about it, but Y/n taught him you had to talk about everything, the sooner the better, or it would catch up to you. It was silent, Echo not wanting to pry.
"I was put away for a while," Y/n started out of nowhere, "The Corasaunt guard with Tarkin as their director stormed the house after a conversation with my parents, we were hauled away in cages rather than cuffs, I didn't understand, tried to keep the kids safe the best I could, but we were split up, I had managed to keep Princess in the cage with me."
Echo looked up at him, listening to every word that fell from Y/n's lips
"but when we got to the research facility, we were split up. I didn't know what happened to everyone until I escaped with Sonju and Mijuka." Y/n spoke, "After the incident with Dogma."
Echo frowned, but let his fingers rub over Y/n's exposed chest, over some puckering scars.
"I had learned from archives that most of my brothers and sisters had died, there was only one left." Y/n spoke, "You remember Princess?"
Echo nodded, Princess the sweet little girl that had done his "much needed" makeup all the time out of fun.
"I had run to grab her from her cell but, well it seemed her death was more than just experimenting wise, they had her in a tube, filled with flowers and red liquid, turns out they had just sold her and she hadn't been marked as dead yet," Y/n told him.
"Y/n, I," Echo tried to empathize, sympathize, anything, but it was even hard for him to comprehend, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," Y/n spoke, "I'm not too sad about it anymore, she's with the family somewhere else now, I just hope they're happy wherever they may be."
Echo snuggled up to Y/n more to comfort him, "I'll never see how you'll do it, be able to accept it, especially so fast."
"I haven't been able to accept it, but I know, that I can't keep dwelling on it, when we broke the kids out of the physic section in that lab I realized, I had to be a big brother again." Y/n let out.
"I'm here now, you can lean on me now," Echo spoke, Y/n smiling smally in response, "I want to help you like you've helped me."
"Thank you Echo," Y/n told him, kissing the top of his head, "You've helped by being accepting."
Echo ran his hand through Y/n's hair soothing the male, his hand from the top of his hand ran down to his cheek where he rubbed a thumb over Y/n's cheek. They stayed like that for a few more moments, relived in each other's arms.
"Hey, Roslyn!" Sonju called banging on his door, "Dinner!"
Y/n sat up, quickly throwing joggers on and walking to the door, where he let it slide open, his frame blocking the doorway.
"Alright, I'll be out," Y/n commented, Sonju seeing Echo's form in the background immediately, the clone covering himself up some more.
Sonju looked back down at Y/n acting as if he hadn't seen anything, "And what's this thing with everyone calling you Y/n? Weren't gonna tell me?"
Y/n shrugged, "Didn't know you needed to know." he replied sarcastically.
Sonju chuckled, hands upon the top of the door frame supporting his leaning down the body which rests at Y/n's eye level, leaning in Y/n rolled his eyes.
"You, smell different." Sonju teased, "Want me to change that?"
"Want me to rearrange your insides, and not in a fun way," Y/n argued arms crossed.
Sonju chuckled, "Well then hurry your ass to dinner before I drag you there."
Y/n waved him off Sonju walking off with a shrug as Y/n closed the door locking it once again with a push of a button.
"Come on, let's go eat," Y/n told Echo.
Echo nodded, getting out of bed he dressed, Y/n redressing himself in something more suitable as they walked out together, everyone in the common room eating.
"Your food," Connor spoke handing the bowl to Y/n.
"Thank you." Y/n thanked taking the food.
"Here your's as well," Isabella spoke handing the bowl to Echo.
"Oh, thank you." Echo spoke, the two finding seats on the floor more comfortable than the seats as they leaned up against the curved booth.
"Ooo! y/n! Y/n!" Emma cheered, "Ray has-"
Emma was elbowed hard by Ray, "Hey!"
"I don't have anything," Ray defended as Emma frowned.
"But you just told us that-"
"no, I didn't" Ray argued jerking his head towards Echo who was looking down at his food and eating.
"Oh,"
"Anything you wanna say ray?" Y/n questioned with a smile.
"Emma has a crush on the bandanna guy!"
"I DO NOT!"
"YES, YOU DO!"
"YEAH!? WELL, YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON THAT BLONDE GIRL AT LEAST THAT'S TRUE!"
Echo almost choked on his food at the burst of conversation, wait way- OMEGA!?
The two continued to bicker, the elders laughing, "Remember when you had a crush on a certain someone Sonju." Mujika teased.
"Yeah well, I ended up eating her so," Sonju spoke taking a spoonful of potatoes into his mouth.
"That's news to my ears." Y/n spoke, "Her?"
"I like options," Sonju spoke another big spoon of potatoes into his mouth.
"Relationships are a waste of time," Connor spoke.
"Well, you did try and stab your dad to, death," Evie spoke.
"Damn imagine having parents." Jacob chimed in.
"Jacob!" Evie argued, "Really!?"
"Oh was this not trama circle and dinner?" Jacob questioned, "Let's just unpack it all why don't we."
"we rather not," Isabella spoke eating her stew.
"But I'd bloody love to." Jacob spoke, then turned toward Echo, "So what's your story lad?"
Echo looked up food in his mouth pointing to himself in question.
"Please don't entice my brother with stories," Evie spoke.
"Oh uh," Echo spoke, "I'm a clone, that's all really do it."
"You fought in the clone wars?" Norman asked sitting across from Echo as he nodded.
"ARC Trooper, previously at least," Echo spoke. "Not much of a trooper anymore anyways,"
Echo let his words sink in then quickly corrected them, "You know!- with the empire, and all..."
"The clone wars were pretty brutal on the creed." Evie spoke, "Moraled Assassins because ruthless bounty hunters, the republic didn't take nicely to the Creed not taking a side, neither did the separatist."
"So, neutrality destroyed your people?" Echo questioned.
"Yes," Evie spoke. "Very much so,"
"Order 66 destroyed the clones and Jedi, did it not?" Connor questioned.
Echo nodded in response, "It killed a lot of good men, soldiers, Jedi, and Clone."
"Title doesn't do you much good now," Sonju commented, "We're all the same in the ground"
Y/n sat up from his leaning state and grabbed two drinks off the table, handing one to Echo. The rest of the dinner was quiet, eating is the main task, it reminded him of Y/n's house, everyone talked letting out whatever they wished to at the beginning of dinner and then everyone becoming silent as they ate and filled their stomachs.

DSMP FALLS! <1>
Ah! Summer break! A time for leisure, recreation, and taking her easy.
..Unless you're me.
A pair of triplets crash through a billboard with a go-kart. "AAAAAHHH!" Being followed by a monster of unimaginable horror. "It's getting closer!" One of the triplets cried. My name is Y/N. The boy to the right of me about to puke is my triplet brother, Tubbo, while the boy to my left screaming profanities is my other triplet brother, Tommy. You may be wondering what we're doing in this situation. "Look out!" Tubbo cried. "Agh!" Y/N screamed. "This monster is such a bitch!" Tommy cried. "Tommy!" Tubbo frowned. Rest assured, there's a perfectly logical explanation!
... Let's rewind. It all began when our parents decided we could use some fresh air. They shipped us up to Gravity Falls, Oregon, to stay with our great uncle in the woods. "This attic is amazing! Just look at all of my splinters!" Tubbo cried. "..And there's a fucking goat on my bed." Tommy sighed.
Tubbo walked up to the goat.
"Hey, new friend! Yes, you can keep chewing on my shirt!" Tubbo giggled. Y/N giggled as well. Tubbo and Tommy seemed to look on the bright side of things. I, however, was having a bit of a harder time getting used to our new surroundings. "Boo!" "Aagh!" Y/N jumped up from their spot from under a tree. An old man took off a mask and started laughing. And then there was our great uncle Schlatt. That guy. Our uncle had transformed his house into a tourist trap called the Mystery Shack. The real mystery is why anyone came. And guess who had to work there? Y/N sighed, sweeping the floor. Tubbo reached out to touch something in this gift shop before Schlatt slapped his hand away.
"No touching the merchandise!" He said. Tommy snickered and touched it anyway out of spite. It seemed like it was going to be the same routine all summer, until one fateful day.
"Alright, look alive folks! I need someone to go hang up these signs in the spooky part of the forest." Schlatt said. "Not it!" The triplets said at the same time. "Also not it." Ranboo said. "Nobody asked you, Ranboo." Schlatt said. "I know and I'm comfortable with that." Ranboo smiled. "Niki! I need you to put up these signs!" Schaltt said. "I would.. but I can't.. reach." She trailed off. "I'd fire all of you if I could." Schlatt sighed. "Okay, let's make it eeny, meeny, miny, you." Schlatt pointed at Y/N. "Yes!" Tommy and Tubbo exclaimed. "Awe what? Gruncle Schlatt, whenever I'm in those woods I feel like I'm being watched." Y/N said. "Oh, this again." He rolled his eyes. "I'm serious, something weird is going on! Just today, my mosquito bites spelled out beware!" Y/N said, showing schlatt their arm. "...That says bewarb." Schlatt said. "Look kid, the whole monsters in the forest thing is just a local legend. Drummed up by guys like me to sell merch to guys like that." Schlatt pointed at a guy distracted by a schlatt bobblehead. "So quit being so paranoid!" Schlatt said. ... "Ugh, Gruncle Schlatt. nobody ever believes what I say." Y/N groaned as they hammer signs in the forest. They hammer another tree but stop when they hear metal. "huh?" They hit it the hammer again in curiosity. Finding a secret door with a machine inside, they mess with the buttons for a bit before something opens up behind them. "What the.." Reaching into the hole, they find a dusty old journal. They brush it off and start reading. "Woah.. trust no one, huh?" Y/N mumbled. "Hello!" Tubbo exclaimed. "What are you reading, some nerd book?" Tommy asked. "Uh-uh, it's nothing!" Y/N exclaimed. "Uh-UH IT'S NOTHING!" Tommy mocked. "What, are you seriously not gonna show us?" Tubbo asked. "..Let's go somewhere more private," Y/N said. ... "It's amazing! Gruncle Schlatt said I was being paranoid, but apparently, Gravity Falls has this secret dark side!" Y/N exclaimed. "WOAH!" Tubbo exclaimed. "SHUT UP!" Tommy pushed Y/N with a grin on his face. "Get this! After a certain point, the pages just stop! Like the guy who was writing it mysteriously disappeared!" Y/N exclaimed.
The doorbell rang. "Who's that?" Y/N asked. "Welp, time to spill the beans! This guy's got a platonic date!" Tubbo grinned. "Platonic??" "Date??" Schlatt walked in as Tubbo came back in with someone. "Hey family, I want you to meet my new platonic boyfriend!" Tubbo exclaimed. "Sup." He said. "Hey." Y/N and Tommy said. "How's it hanging?" Schlatt finger gunned. "We met at the cemetery. He's really deep." Tubbo smiled. "..What's your name?" Y/N asked. "Normal.. Man!" He groaned out. "He means Norman." Tubbo giggled. "..Are you bleeding, Norman?" Tommy asked. "..It's jam." Norman said. Y/N stared at him in suspicion before Tubbo dragged Norman away. There was something with Norman that wasn't right. I decided to consult the journal. Y/N read the journal out loud. "Known for their pale skin and bad attitudes.. these creatures are often mistaken for.. TEENAGERS?!" Y/N exclaimed. "Beware Gravity Falls' nefarious ZOMBIES?!" Y/N gasped. "Zombies??" Tommy gasped. He was sitting there with Y/N. "Tommy, outside!" Y/N exclaimed. "Oh, no! Tubbo!" They both yelled. Norman lurched towards Tubbo, grabbed him, and put a flower crown on him. "Daisies?? You scallywag!" Tubbo gushed. "Is our brother dating a zombie or are we just going nuts?" Tommy muttered. "It's a dillema to be sure." Charlie said. "Agh!" Y/N jumped. "I couldn't help but overhear you guys talking to yourselves in this empty room." Charlie explained. "Charlie, you've seen Tubbo's platonic date, right? He's got to be zombie!" Y/N said. "Hm.. how many brains did you see the guy eat?" Charlie asked. "Zero.." Y/N sighed. "Look, dudes, I believe you. I'm seeing strange thing in this town all the time. Like, the mailman, I'm pretty sure that guy's a werewolf. But! You gotta have proof, or else people will think you're a major cukoo clock." Charlie said. "As always, big C, you're right." Tommy said. "My wisdom is both a wisdom and a curse." Charlie said. "Charlie! The toilets are clogged again!" Schlatt called out. "I am needed elsewhere." Charlie took off. Y/N and Tommy decided to work together to get some evidence. Throughout their studies, Norman certainly had strange behavior, but not enough to convict him of anything supernatural. "I'll talk to Tubbo, don't worry, sib!" Tommy said. "Alright." Y/N nodded. ... Tommy walked into the triplets' shared room. "Tubbo, we've got to talk about Norman." Tommy said. "I know! Isn't he great?? Look at this smooch mark he gave me!" Tubbo turned his head to show a large red area on his face. "Egh!" Tommy cried. "Hah! Gullible. It was just an accident with the leafblower. That was fun." Tubbo laughed. "No, listen, Tubbo! I'm trying to tell you that Norman is not what he seems! The journal that Y/N found!" Tommy insisted. "You think he might be a vampire?? That would be awesome!" Tubbo gasped. "Guess again, big T! A zombie he is!" Tommy said. "A zombie?? Not funny, Tommy!" Tubbo frowned. "I'm not joking! Y/N can agree, it all adds up! The bleeding, the limp, he never blinks! Have you noticed that??" Tommy exclaimed. "Maybe he's blinking when you're blinking." Tubbo suggested. "HE'S GOING TO EAT YOUR BRAINS, BIG T!" Tommy shook Tubbo. "Tommy! Listen to me. Norman and I are going on a date tonight and I'm going to be adorable! He's going to be dreamy! And I'm not going to let you and Y/N ruin it with another one of your crazy conspirices!" Tubbo kicked Tommy out. "Ah man.. what am I gonna do??" Tommy slumped against the door. Someone sat down next to him. "How'd it go, bro-bro?" Y/N asked. "He's refusing to listen.. He kicked me out." Tommy sighed. Y/N frowned. "Not surprising. Hopefully he'll come to that realization in his own." ... The two out of three triplets were sitting on the couch, looking over the footage. "I guess we don't have any actual evidence, huh?" Y/N sighed. "Yeah.. I guess we can be kinda paranoid sometimes-" Tommy stopped. In the footage clip, Norman's hand fell off and he put it back on. "WAIT WHAT?!" Tommy and Y/N exclaimed. They leaped off
the
couch in a hurry. "WE WERE RIGHT! HOLY SHIT!" Tommy exclaimed. Racing outside, the two tried to find their uncle. "GRUNCLE SCHLATT! GRUNCLE SCHLATT!" Y/N called out. Schlatt wasn't paying attention.
"Wait! Niki has the cart!" Tommy suggested. "Good eye, Tommy!" Y/N grinned. "Niki! Niki! We need the cart to save our brother from a zombie!" They ran up to her. "Try not to hit any pedestrains." She winked, giving them the keys. "Alright, Tommy! Let's go save our sister!" Y/N grinned. They backed up before Charlie stopped them. "Dudes! This is for the zombies." He handed them a shovel. "Thanks." Y/N grinned, "This is in case you see a pinata." He handed them a bat. "..Thanks?" Tommy said. "Better safe than sorry!" He called out. Tommy and Y/N sped off to find their brother. They heard screams and drove to the direction of the sound. "LET'S GO!" Y/N exclaimed. "Get his arm there, Steve!" Tubbo was struggling against several gnomes. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!" Tommy exclaimed. "Tommy! Y/N! Norman turned out to be a bunch of gnomes! And they're total assholes!" Tubbo cried.
"Gnomes..? We were way off." Tommy mumbled. Y/N flipped open the journal. "Damn.. no weaknesses." They sighed. "Hey! Hey! Let go of my brother!" Y/N demanded. "This is all one big misunderstanding. Your brothers not in any danger! He's just marrying all one thousand of us and becoming our king for all of eternity!" The lead gnome explained. "Give him back right now, or else, prick!" Tommy demanded. "You think you can stop us, child? You have no idea what we're capable of!" The gnome went on a tangent before Tommy scooped him up with the shovel and tossed him to the side. Y/N used that chance to free Tubbo, dragging him back to the kart with Tommy. "GO GO GO!" Tubbo exclaimed. "I wouldn't worry about it. See their little fucking legs? Those pricks are tiny." Tommy smirked. Tommy stopped when they heard the noises of a creature. A giant gnome creature, to be exact. "Damn." Tubbo said. "MOVE! GO GO GO!" Y/N screeched. The giant creature chased them through the forest. Gnomes launched onto the kart. "Agh!" Tubbo exclaimed. "GET OFF MY FACE!" Y/N cried. "I got you, sib!" Tubbo punched the gnome, while also accidentally punching Y/N several times before the gnome let go, revealing new bruises on Y/N's face. "..Thanks bro.." They winced. "Look out!" Tubbo cried. They crashed into the back of the Mystery Shack. They were officially cornered. The triplets hugged each other in terror. "W-where's Gruncle Schlatt??" Y/N asked. "It's the end of the line, kids! Tubbo, marry us before we do something crazy!" The lead gnome ordered. "There's gotta be a fucking way out of this.." Tommy muttered. "I gotta do it." Tubbo decided. "What?!" The other two triplets exclaimed. "Tubbo, are you crazy?!" Y/N asked. "Trust me." Tubbo said. "..What??" Tommy gasped. "Trust me, just this once, guys." Tubbo said. The two hesitated and then nodded. "Alright, Jeff. I'll marry you." Tubbo stepped forward. "Hot dog!" The lead gnome climbed down to Tubbo. "You may now kiss the groom." Tubbo said after the lead gnome put a ring on his finger. "Well, I don't if I do!" The lead gnome grinned, puckering up. Tubbo took that chance to hit him with the leafblower that was left outside. "Agh!" The gnome screamed. "That's for lying to me! That's the breaking my heart! And that's for messing with my siblings!" Tubbo shot the gnome off into the forest and the rest of the gnomes scattered away. As the triplets walked back into the Mystery Shack, Tubbo stopped them. "Hey, Y/N, Tommy, I'm sorry. You two were really just trying to look out for me." Tubbo sighed. "Oh, don't be like that! You saved our asses back there!" Tommy smiled. "I guess I'm just sad that Norman turned out to be a bunch of gnomes." Tubbo sighed. "Hey, look on the bright side! Maybe the next one will be a vampire." Y/N giggled. "You're just saying that." Tubbo giggled, punching their shoulder. "..Awkward triplet hug?" Y/N suggested. "Awkward triplet hug." Tommy and Tubbo said together, the three of them in a hug. ... "Yeesh, you three get hit by a bus or something? Hahah!" Schlatt laughed. The triplets ignored him. "Hey, um,, I accidentally overstocked some items, why don't you three take something?" Schlatt said. "What's the catch?" Y/N raised an eyebrow. "The catch is do it before I change my mind, now go!" Schlatt said. The triplets grinned at each other. Tubbo picked out a grappling hook, Tommy picked out a music disc, and Y/N picked out a a hat with a bat symbol on it. ... This journal told me that there was no one you could trust. But when you go up against an army of gnomes with side by side with two people, you realize they probably got their back. "Tubbo, can you get the light?" Y/N asked. "You got it, sib!" Tubbo shot the grappling hook at the light. "Oh, for fuck's sake!" Tommy rolled his eyes. Tubbo and Y/N giggled. Our uncle told us there was nothing strange about this town, but who knows what other secrets are waiting to be unlocked? -------

-As the new family drove into town they got a lot of stares from the locals watching as the moving van drove down Main Street to the most popular Bakery in town
-Their first day in town was spent talking to curious locals and accepting welcome gifts
-As Marinette was moving of of her boxes inside she noticed two boys staring from across the street
-One boy had black messy hair and blue eyes
-He wore beat up blue jeans with a white t-shirt and a blue plaid shirt unbutton over it and a pair of beat up hiking boots
-The other also had black hair, but his was a lot neater. He had dark green eyes that seemed to bore into Marinette's soul
-He work dark wash jeans, a red t-shirt, a green and yellow jacket with a pair of black combat boots
-Marinette gave them an ackward smile and wave that the boys returned before leaving down the street
-Marinette shook off the strange encounter and continue to unpack
-The Dupen-Chengs stayed in their new home for a couple of days unpacking and setting up their new home
-After about a week the house was all unpacked and decorated and the bakery will open back up the next day, so Sabine had a chat with her hermit children who have yet to leave the house since arriving
-Sabine: Why don't you two go out to explore the town?
-Adrien messing with his camera: I don't know mom it looks like it's about to rain?
-Sabine looked at her two children, both dressed in clothes Marinette made
-Marinette was in dark blue jean shorts, white fitted t-shirt with a light pink vest with a pair of dark blue converse hightops with pink flowers embroidered on the side
-Adrien was wearing blue jeans with a black t-shirt that says You Got To Be Kitten Me Right Meow in green with paw prints dotting the i's.
-Adrien would right down puns for Marinette and she would put them on t-shirts for him, even if they made her groan.
-Sabine: It's Oregon it's always about to rain
-Sabine pushed her 2 children out the door, handed Marinette her small pink backpack, and locked the door behind them
-Sabine: Don't come back till sunset
-Adrien and Marinette looked at each other shocked
-Marinette: She really kicked us out
-Adrien: And told us not to come back till sunset
-Marinette looked around their was 2 directions they could go
-Down Main Street with all the shops and people or down a mist filled road with an old sign pointing to something called the Mystery Shack
-Marinette pointing to the mist filled road: Let's go that way
-Adrien gave Marinette a look: You want to go down the creepy road?
-Marinette: Yes
-Adrien *sighing*: Of course you do
-The two made their way down the misty road after about 15 minutes they come across a old cabin with the words Mystery Shack spelled out on the roof
-The two walked in to be greeted by a boy in his early 20s with a white streak in his hair sitting behind the counter
-Jason in a bored tone: Welcome to the Mystery Shack the most mysterious place on Earth
- The man looked up at the two teens who walked into the gift shop
-Jason in a livelier tone: Oh you guys are the kids who moved into the bakery right?
-Marinette: Yeah I'm Marinette Dupen-Cheng and this is my brother Adrien
-Adrien with a slightly dreamy voice: Hi
-Jason: Cool! My name's Jason Todd welcome to Gotham falls
-Marinette: Thanks
--A commotion could be heard from the back and older woman can bursting out of the back stacks of fliers in her hands
-Marianne: Jason where's that little brother of yours? I thought you said that he would come today to help hang fliers and where's Harley?
-Jason: He must have gotten side track you know how he and Jon can get and Harley had to go do something
-Marianne: ugh... Who are you two?
-Adrien: Oh I'm Adrien Dupen-Cheng and this-
-Marianne: Yeah don't care do you want to earn some money?
-Marinette: What
-Marianne: I'll give you two $20 each to hang these posters up around the road to town.
-Marinette and Adrien looked at eachother asking if the other were okay with it
-Marinette: Sure why not
-Marianne: Good here's the fliers and $10 each I'll give you half now half when you come back
-The two grabbed the fliers and said goodbye to Jason and made their way down the road into the woods hanging posters up every couple of feet
-It took about an hour but Marinette and Adrien finally got all the posters hung up
-Adrien: Come over here Marinette
-Marinette: What?
-Adrien: this is a perfect area for you outfit go stand in top of that stump
-Marinette did as her brother said doing different poses on top of the stump as Adrien snapped pictures of his camera
-At one point Marinette stepped too far back and stepped on a branch still attached to the stump and it went down like a lever and a shelves popped open
-Living inside was a green journal with a hold turtle shell of the front with the number 3 written on it
-Marinette: What?
-Marinette picked up the book and open the first page
-Written on it was the words trust no one in Gotham Falls
-Adrien reading over her shoulders: Ehat does that mean?
-Marinette flipping through the journal: I don't know. Look at this it's filled with sketches and info about different types of monsters. Who wrote this?
-Adrien: I don't know, but let's get out of here, this place is freaking me out=
-Marinette: I have to agree with you there Adrien. Let's head back to the Mystery Shack
-Marinette slipped the journal in her backpack, zipping it close
-As the two head back to the shack not noticing the small dark shadows hidden among the trees
-They went back to the shack and gathered the rest of their payments
-The 2 stayed there getting to know Jason and also meeting Harley who came back about an hour after they returned
-It was fun the two stayed at the Mystery Shack for hours laughing and joking around with the two 20 somethings, every once and a while helping Marianne with anything she might need done while they were there
-Jason’s mysterious brother and his friend never showed up
- As the sone started to dip behind the trees Marinette and Adrien head back to the bakery
-The rest of the week was spent by the 2 siblings spending every other day at the mystery shack
-When not at the shack they would explore the town and do different photo shoots around the areas they would discover
-And when she wasn’t doing that Marinette was reading the journal
-It was written so well that Marinette almost believed it
-Adrien dismissed it though claiming it was probably some kids D&D journal
-As the two siblings explored the town Marinette noticed that a tall teenager in a black sweatshirt always seemed to follow her and Adrien around
-One day when Marinette was alone the teen finally came up to Marinette and started to try to flirt with her
-He said his name was Norman and with a broken speech Norman tried to ask Marinette out
-Marinette watched in horror as she silently checked of a mental list that pointed to only one answer
-Norman was a zombie trying to lure Marinette away to eat her brain
-Marinette searched the street around her hoping to see Adrien or Jason or Harley or anyone who could get her out of this situation when her eyes landed on the two boys that she waved at the first day she arrived in Gotham Falls
-Marinette: I’m very flattered but I have plans with my friends over there, so maybe another time
-Marinette ran toward the two boys, moving between the two and hooking her arms through theirs
-Marinette loudly: There you guys are I’ve been looking for you guys.
-Marinette quietly: Sorry about this that guy over there is freaking me out
-The two boys nodded their heads and lead Marinette away from Norman pretending to have a conversation with the young half asian girl.
-They lead her back to the bakery not leaving her side until they were sure Norman was no where to be seen and Marinette was safe inside
-Marinette: Thank you so much I know that was probably super weird and ackward
-Damian: It's no problem miss
-Jon: Happy to help
-Before Marinette could say anything else the boys disappeared down the road
-That night Marinette told Adrien her worries about Norman and her theory about him being a zombie
-Adrien: Come on Marinette that's silly. I think you need to stop reading that strange book so much
-Marinette: perhaps you're right
-On there way to the Mystery Shack the next day the two siblings were exploring the woods near the road where they were cornered by Norman who turned out to be a group of Gnomes who wanted Marinette to marry their leader
-Marinette: ARE YOU CRAZY?!?! I'M NOT GOING TO MARRY YOU!!!
-Gnome Leader (a/n: I can't remember his name and refuse to look it up): Oh I'm sure that's just cold feet talking. You'll be my queen and ruling the gnomes. Guys get her!
-With his command gnomes charged the siblings
-Adrien: Run!
-The 2 ran towards the road but the gnomes cut them off
-Adrien picking up a tree branch: Looks like we're going to have to fight our way our of this
-Marinette taking out the journal: Let's do this
-The two started to whack the gnomes away from them
-They did their best to beat them back but there was too many of them
-They were almost completely overwhelmed when a golf came crashing through the crowd stopping in front of Marinette and Adrien
-Damian at the wheel: Get on!
-Adrien: You don't have to tell us twice
-Jon squeezed Marinette between him and Damian and Adrien hopped onto the back
-Marinette: Go go go
-Damian didn't have to he told twice he slammed on the gas
Marinette: How did you guys know we were in trouble
Damian: We noticed that something was not right with Norman so we've been keeping an eye on him
Jon: But we thought he was a vampire
Marinette: oh I thought zombie
Adrien: I just thought he was an awkward guy. I think we all can agree that nobody saw gnomes coming.... AHH GNOMES ARE COMING!!!!
The gnomes had joined together to form a giant gnome
Damian/Jon/Marinette looking back: OH MY GOSH!!!
Damian swerved into a tunnel hoping to lose the giant, but to no advail
Gnome Leader: Come back my queen!
Damian and Jon paused their screaming and looked at Marinette
Marinette: Yeah I have no idea
The giant gnome threw a tree in their path causing Damian to try and swerve out of the way
Damian turned too hard and the golf cart tipped to the side crashing in front of the Mystery Shack
The teens crawled out of the golf cart pressing their backs against the walls of the Mystery Shack
Marinette notice a leaf blower in the pile of leaves beside her
Marinette: I need you guys to trust me
Damian: What?
Marinette staring into Damian's eyes: Trust me.
Damian: Okay
Marinette stepping forward: Wait! You win I'll marry you
Gnome Leader: oh great
Marinette sat down on her knees as the gnome climbed down his fellow gnomes
Marinette waited as the gnome slid a ring on her finger
Marinette: You may now kiss the bride
Gnome Leader: Don't mind if I do
As he closed his eyes and puckered his lips Marinette grabbed the leaf blower and sucked the gnome up
Marinette: That that you little creep!
Marinette then shot the gnome out of the leaf blower causing him to shoot through the giant gnome
With their leader gone the other gnomes fled with the teens yelling victory
The 2 sets of teen finally introduce themselves and that battle was the start of a beautiful friendship
Together the teens started their investigations of the mysteries of Gotham Falls
Damian and Marinette seemed to be focus more on the mystery than Jon and Adrien though
Together they hunted mythical creatures and try to gain more information on them
Jon and Adrien was more focus on summer fun and romance
While Adrien seem to fall for almost every cute boy that passed through town
Jon was completely smitten with Adrien
He tried to do his best to hunt at it but Adrien was completely oblivious
As the summer went on Adrien forced Damian and Jon to do photoshoots with Marinette
All together they made a great team
They solved so many mysteries together
Adrien and Jon made sure Damian and Marinette didn't go too crazy trying to solve mysteries and Marinette and Damian made sure the other 2 didn't get too carry away with summer romance and fun
During Summerween Damian angered the Summerween Trickester sk the kids had to try and get 500 pieces of candy
Which was made worst because of their age
In the end they weren't able to get it all and had to fight him
They beat home by melting making him sink down the drain
Another time Adrien and Marinette was curious about the resident phyick that Marianne hated name Lila
Together with Jason they watch her show and even stayed behind to talk to her
Apparently Lila took a liking to Adrien and wanted him for herself
Adrien really wasn't comfortable with the attention Lila was giving him and tried to tell her, but every time he tried to tell her something came up that pressured him not too
Adrien begged Marinette to talk to her for him which she agreed to
It was a huge mistake
Not only was Lila a REAL phyick, but she was also a sociopath
She tried to kill Marinette thinking she was keeping them apart
The only thing that saved Marinette was Damian coming across them and Lila not wanting other people to see her like thay
After that Damian put his foot down
Damian: Marinette's not breaking up for you any more she could've been killed
Adrien: I agree with you 100%
Jon bringing his face closer to Adrien's: You know I could help you keep people like that away
Adrien blushing: Oh stop joking Jon
Another time Adrien and Jon were convice that Damian and Marinette binged together so they set up a romantic picnic for them
Damian: I can't believe your brother and Kent did this to us
Marinette blushing: Am I really that bad?
Damian blushing: No not at all Angel it just that I would have preferred if I asked you myself. I actually...well I really
Damian grabbed Marinette's hands and was leaning his face closer to hers
Marinette had every intention to let Damian continue, but she notice something big under the water of the lake
Marinette: What was that?
Adrien from the bushes: OH COME ON!!!!
That turned into a lake monster hunt
Which in the end they learned there was no lake monster but the town kook Mr. Pidgeon
Near the end if the summer Lila tried to get her revenge by taking over the Mystery Shack our gang's favourite hang out
She used a dream demon called the Joker to get into Marianne's head
They did their best to stop her, but Lila made it very clear that the only way she would give the Shack back to Miranne was if Adrien agreed to date her
And no way was Marinette going to allow that
It took a lot of courage for Adrien to accept who he is and Marinette was not going to let some bitch force him to subress that
They used a spell that was in the book to also enter Marianne's mind to stop the Joker
They succeeded in banishing the Joker from Miranne's head and stopping Lila
And even though the summer was over Marinette new that they were just beginning to unravel the mysteries of Gotham Falls
Tumblr media
So guys welcome to part 1 or 3 in my Gravity falls au. While yes this is a Daminette/Adrijon fic it will focus mainly on the sibling relationship between Adrien and Marinette
I hope you guys like it and I'll see you soon on the next part

Memorial Day Weekend.
You know what Memorial Day Weekend means: It means paying respects and remembering the fallen soldiers that fight for your freedom, and country. Also means Barry is throwing a barbecue! So, here’s my headcanon for something fluffy and silly, since I did post some angsty shit a few days ago.
Barry: He is the man of the hour! He has been preparing his house for a barbecue weekend! I’d like to imagine Barry being that sort of fatherly/uncle figure that has a nice house, pool, front and backyard that has soft grass. Ultimate picturesque American Norman Rockwell.
While it’s not specific, and you’re not required to bring anything. Barry won’t turn away any side dishes, or general food item that someone may bring.
Leon and Claire are first to show up at Barry’s. They bring a fruit salad, and some brownies. Leon is trying to show utmost respect for Barry, and still exuding that sense of professional rookie. Claire on the meantime is ready to have a drink, and laugh!
Sherry is with Leon and Claire when they go. And my god... that kid wouldn’t shut up about swimming. She’s been wearing her swimsuit under her clothes for hours, and all she wants to do is jump in that pool. It’s almost impossible controlling that child the moment they get to Barry’s house. Claire has to remind her to put sunscreen on, and it nearly causes a fight when she stops Sherry and is greasing up her face!
Rebecca shows up and she has a vegetable tray, and modest healthy food. She’s also partially prepared to deal with bloody noses, scrapes, bruises, things that come from big large people rough housing. (Because Chris and Carlos will be in the same area. It’s bound to happen.) She takes over kitchen duty helping out Barry. She’s seeing to drinks, making sure that there is plenty of water, cups, napkins, plates etc. Barry is outside, so why not be inside greeting everyone!
Chris shows up. He’s trying his best to get out of “work mode”. But, it’s proving harder than he thought. He’s friendly, he’s cordiale. But our man Chris also has a lot of internal anxieties. I feel people forget that Chris is dealing similar trauma that Jill has endured. He was there in the Arklay Mountains as well with the mansion. He saw and dealt with similar events. Now, he has the knowledge and fear that his own little sister dealt with similar as he did. Something that no big brother wants to know about. Let alone that he wasn’t there to protect her.
So Chris is apprehensive. He’s a bit rigid, and he’s keeping an eye on all doors, windows, any point of entry when he’s inside. When he’s outside, he’s at an area where he can keep an eye on both the gates into the backyard, the pool, and doors that lead into the house.
It’s emotional when Chris and Claire get to see each other. While they have seen each other after the events of Raccoon City, it doesn’t stop the tears and sniffing from seeing the other is still alive. There is laughing, there is hugging, there is also the shit given back and forth to the other.
So, for Jill. She’s nervous about attending the barbecue. Crowds, even if friends are always anxiety ridden. She’s worried people will look at her like she’s some kind of monster. She doesn’t want to have anyone’s pity, or sympathies. If she could be invisible and not noticed she’d much rather have that.
Carlos however, is adamant that they have to go. Granted, his anxieties are towards Jill’s former comrades, and friends reception of him. But, he knows that Jill HAS TO interact and be with those that care about her. Closing herself off from her friends will not help in any improvement mentally, or emotionally for her. While he’s anxious about how she’ll react, and how he’ll be received, he takes them to the barbecue.
Carlos also is the one that makes some of his favorite dishes from his country. Carlos can cook! Man will put some meat on your bones. His love language is also with his cooking. So, you best expect what he brings is FUCKING DELICIOUS!
Jill’s rigid, and similar to Chris, she’s anxious. She has a small tight smile, she’s reserved, she’s trying to pretend to be normal.
Claire’s squeal makes Jill jump! As does the partially liqured up red-head’s adamant surprise hug attack!
Barry jokes, and he hugs Jill. He’s the first to really notice that she’s dealing with some shit. That’s where he gives her a rum and coke. Little stronger than some beer, something to loosen her nerves. He tells her too that he understands. Take some time. It’s safe. Nothing is going to happen. They are all there with her.
Chris and Jill have an awkward moment reunion. They’ve been through so much together as well, just as Jill has with Carlos. They do have a silent moment where the emotions are palpable. They end up embracing, and there are silent tears.
Carlos is trying not to feel awkward, but he does. He’s not so much “threatened” by Chris. But hey both have high tensions around the other. Carlos being former Umbrella, and Chris having the same distaste to Umbrella that Jill has. Naturally Chris doesn’t trust Carlos. Carlos just wants him to mind his own business! But for this... he can’t try to enforce that.
After that moment of tense interaction, and silent emotions expressed between Chris and Jill. Things begin to lighten up, and dare say it... people start having fun!
Leon is pushed into the pool.
There is an arm wrestling contest. Barry beats Leon. Granted, Leon did come close. But! Old man strength prevails.
Carlos and Chris are in a stalemate that Rebecca breaks up.
There is a game of capture the flag.
Claire and Jill get giggly with each other when they keep drinking.
Everyone eats hotdogs, grilled chicken, burgers- tasty all around food that you’d expect to have at a barbecue. It’s not till they try what Carlos brought that everyone’s minds are blown!
Carlos is oddly sheepish, and blushes at the praise he gets... Chris even compliments him. Those two have an awkward nod off.
Barry gets the firepit going, and people start to gather around it, sitting and talking, joking, telling stories etc.
Sherry has swam to her heart’s content, but now she’s tired and wrapped in a towel and in Leon’s lap, mumbling how she’s tired. All while Dad-Leon has frizzy hair, and damp clothes from being pushed in the pool.
Claire and Jill are drunk, and starting to show they are done.
It’s around 10:30-11pm that they call it a successful barbecue.
In the end, everyone had absolute blast, and they all left with high spirits. Chris and Carlos managed to get along, and Barry waves them off.
Leon has to carry Sherry to the car, and Chris helps get his sister into the jeep. She is muttering, and arguing with her brother all the while! She’s a tough badass woman, she doesn’t need his help. He counters back she’s drunk, and she needs to get some sleep... this goes on for awhile.
Jill can’t walk. She doesn’t trust her knees with how drunk she is. She’s too tired emotionally and mentally from the anxiety of just going to the barbecue. So, Carlos has to carry her out to their car.
Barry watches from his porch, smiling so proud to watch his “kids” leave to go home.

Hi Aly! I really liked your previous post and your devotion to the ship, so I was wondering if you had, by any chance, a list of Keenler scenes/episodes? I know it is a lot to ask, but considering the situation we are in, I wanted to start rewatching the series focusing fully on Keenler! Another thing. Do you know where I can find the comic that you uploaded in the post with your thoughts about Ressler being Liz’s source of light? Thank you for everything!! ❤️
Hi there and thank you!  Sorry it’s taken me a day or two to respond to this - I recently posted a list of fav Ressler/Keenler eps off the top of my head in the Keenler group chat here on Tumblr so this list will be very similar to that with some additions.
For the comic book - I know the books are available as graphic novels for purchase through Amazon. I still have my original digital editions through the Comixology app back from when I got the new issues live and I think they still sell them both as individual issues and as graphic novels.  I also feel like I saw a post somewhere (Reddit maybe?) recently that said they are available somewhere else online but I’m not sure where and I can’t find it easily. If anyone knows, please chime in for anon.  They were last published as individual issues during S3.
Anyway, the non-exhaustive list because I’m sure I’ve missed something:
Season 1: Stewmaker (the hug of course!), The Courier (when she listens to him talk about how the job is all he has left), General Ludd (his sympathy for her pain when she loses her dad), Anslo Garrick (giving up the code once he sees Liz’s face), Mako Tanida (moments throughout but especially her talking him down from shooting Jonica), Kingmaker (the bridge talk plus the “I didn’t know where else to go” at the end), Berlin (him with her in the wreckage of her apartment)
Season 2: Lord Baltimore (Ressler rolling his eyes at the rinse & repeat of failed relationships plus her concern for him not seeing the psychiatrist); Monarch Douglas (lots of moments, but especially her hand on his shoulder at the end), Mombasa Cartel (ambulance scene at the end when she confronts him about the drugs), The Scimitar (the great fake hospital scene where she saves them both and shirtless Ressler!); The Decembrist (near fist fight with Tom with the whole “what are you, her boyfriend? line); Luther Braxton Conclusion (where he confronts Red at the end of the memory manipulation and sweeps Liz off in the blue blanket); Ruslan Denisov (where she confesses about the Harbor Master); The Deer Hunter (he stops her from killing the woman and then confronts her outside about not turning herself in over the harbormaster); The Longevity Initiative (birthday dinner!); Tom Connolly (letting her go!)
Season 3: The Troll Farmer (she was my partner and the scene with the trap door in the bar, chasing her to the Embassy), Marvin Gerard (Embassy car chase and rescue! diner door scene), Eli Matchett (first phone calls, “good person” talks), Arioch Cain (his testimony; fear that she was dead and the Aram hug), Kings of the Highway (the chase) The Director 1 & 2 (multiple jail scenes, car scene, saving her from the bullet, I’ll keep you safe I promise, etc.)., if you can stomach the wedding in 3.17,  their talk before her wedding &. him showing up at the church, The Artax Network (Ressler only), reaction to her office being cleaned out, taking her foot massager; Alexander Kirk Conclusion (Ressler only) willing to let Red kill Kirk and learning Liz is alive.
Season 4: Esteban (willing to risk himself to rescue her; Cuba restaurant scenes), Mato (rescue at the summer palace and the second hug!), The Forecaster (first time they’re back together in the field), The Harem (those lovely park bench scenes), Isabella Stone (another ambulance scene at the end), Dr. Bodgan Krilov (Liz attacking Krilov and talking Ressler down from shooting Hitchen), The Debt Collector (Samar telling Ressler he needs to be there for Liz despite his suspension; shootout at the cabin).
Season 5: Greyson Blaise (not really a Keenler ep but just fun all around with Ressler in jeans); Miss Rebecca Thrall (Ressler making excuses for phone calls with Prescott), The Kilgannon Corp (horror at her engagement ring; working together on the case); Ian Garvey (another clingy hug (hug #3!) and all the scenes at the hospital), The Informant (Ressler only but very important for his mindset), The Capricorn Killer (his arm around her talking about silver linings), Sutton Ross (the interrogation scenes and Liz’s escape)
Season 6: Dr. Hans Koehler (the “I know you” in the parking garage), The Corsican (all the scenes at the UN), Alter Ego (banter over his cousin’s wedding and the idea of hiring a date), Marko Jankowicz (the entire episode), Minister D (Liz’s concern for Ressler testifying and her reaction when he does), Robert Vesco (library scene, scene with Red and Dembe), Robert Diaz (matching outfits, arrested)
Season 7: Louis Steinhil Conclusion (talk about “we,”); Norman Devane (teasing Aram and talk about seeing her happy), Hannah Hayes (the talk about a year or seven), Victoria Fenberg (the ballet discussions), Cornelius Ruck (the ballet scene at the end), Twamie Ullulaq (discussions in Alaska), Brothers (all of their scenes together but especially the final one), Roy Cain (conversation in the car about Red’s health), The Kazanjian Brothers (the conversation in their office)
Phew.  Hope that helps anon!

Can you tell/link me the dirtiest smut you write please and thank you!
Hey Anon!
That is a TOUGH question! They are all dirty is some way or another. I always try and add some spice to the sweetness...
The one that comes to mind is one of my Boondock Saints smut pieces, “Sinful,” which is a three way with the reader and the brothers in a confessional booth.
Sinful
Summary: The reader is working late one night at a church in the city. The Macmanus Brothers show up late, wanting to pray. She locks them in and gives them a few minutes inside the church while she goes about cleaning up for the night. The boys meet the reader in the confessional and threesome smut ensues.
You and Your Stupid, Fucking Rope
Summary: Murphy is propositioned by a female bartender (the reader) at McGinty’s one night. Connor intervenes and kinky rope smut ensues. This is more of a Murphy x Reader smut, but Connor also gets to use his stupid rope. ;) My first BDS Smut piece, hope you all like it! This honestly may be the longest pure smut piece I have ever written, rivaled only by All of You Part 2.
-----
For Daryl I’d say:
I’m Not Jealous
Summary: Daryl sees the reader talking to another man and gets jealous. The reader goes to bring him lunch and a fight ensues. Jealous, make-up, smut ensues. Season 3. Right after they find the prison. Prison Era.
Release
Summary: Set in S.3 at the prison. Reader gets all hot and bothered watching Daryl chop wood and slips away to their cell for a release. Daryl finds you and smut ensues.
The Big Bad Wolf
Summary: The reader convinces Michonne to have a costume party when they run into a costume store on a run. She asks Daryl to be her big bad wolf. He lives up to the challenge and shows the reader just how bad he wants her and just how bad he can be. Hot Halloween Smut. Season 6 Era. Pre-Negan.
----
For Norman:
Guilty Pleasure - Part 1
Guilty Pleasure - Part 2
Guilty Pleasure - Part 3
Summary: Norman and the reader have been fuck buddies for a year or so. Norman goes off to film in GA and comes back to the city after months away to find that the reader has started dating someone else. The reader expects Norman to back off and go after someone else. But, instead Norman gets very territorial and ends up showing up more and more at the reader’s door. The reader tries to push him away. But, she can’t deny how much she wants him. Norman can’t take it anymore and tells the reader he is the one she should be with. Hot! Hot! Smut! With a sweet smutty ending.
Jealousy*
Summary: I had this brain child while writing my other Dom!Norman piece. This one just hammered itself out, no pun intended. lol! Norman is jealous of the reader and her co-worker. He lays down the law. Ends lovey-dovey.
Your Pussycat*
Summary: The reader surprises Norman with a night of costume filled fun for Halloween… Nothing but pure smut goodness…
-----
Here you go Anon! Here is my list. If anyone else has any other suggestions for Anon please comment the story title. Here is the Master List.
Thanks for the ask Anon, happy reading! :)

In Conversation with Eva Marie Saint and Norman Lloyd by Susan King
Anybody who has attended the TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL in Hollywood knows what a magical experience the event is for fans of vintage movies. There’s such good will, love and friendship there that it’s hard to choose what the favorite event is at the Festival, which would have celebrated its 11th edition this April until Covid-19 cancelled the four days of classic films.
Tumblr media
One of the most popular presentations are the “Live From” events, which features some of the greatest actors and filmmakers from the Golden Age of Hollywood in conversation with the late, great TCM host Robert Osborne and now with Ben Mankiewicz, the channel’s primary host. These interviews have played on TCM over the years. And a select few, including interviews with Oscar-winners Luise Rainer, Eva Marie Saint, Faye Dunaway and such legends as Norman Lloyd and Peter O’Toole, will be featured during the TCM Classic Film Festival: Special Home Edition.
As a movie writer for 26 years at the L.A. Times. I’ve had the good fortune of interviewing many of these legends. Here are some memories of my conversations with two of my favorites, Eva Marie Saint and Norman Lloyd.
Eva Marie Saint
Tumblr media
I have lost count of how many times I have interviewed Eva Marie Saint, now 95, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar as Edie, the girlfriend of Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando), in Elia Kazan’s 1954 Academy Award-winning masterpiece ON THE WATERFRONT.
But I remember the first time.
I was at the now defunct Los Angeles Herald Examiner when I was assigned to talk to her in 1986 about director Garry Marshall’s NOTHING IN COMMON, which stars Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason in his final film. Saint had long been a favorite of mine. I was a huge fan of ON THE WATERFRONT and admired her performances in 1957’s RAINTREE COUNTY opposite Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor, Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 romantic thriller NORTH BY NORTHWEST opposite Cary Grant and Otto Preminger’s 1960 epic EXODUS, where Saint was romanced by Paul Newman. I had also seen her on stage in 1979 in Los Angeles opposite Henry Fonda in the hit comedy First Monday in October.
From the moment she opened the door of the Westwood townhome she shared with her late director husband Jeffrey Hayden, I felt an immediate bond with her. Not only did we both hail from the same hometown, East Orange, N.J., Saint was down-to-earth, friendly and smart as a whip. And she’s always been frank and funny.
The last time I interviewed her in person in 2014, Saint talked about doing live TV in the late 1940s and 1950s. “My God, terrible things happened,” she said with a laugh, including exposing more than her talent on the soap opera One Man’s Family. Saint was doing a scene in a small pool opposite the actor who was playing her brother. At one point, she recalled, “someone was doing something offstage. You learn not to look away from what you are doing because you can be distracted.” But she finally looked, only to see a man off camera pulling his shirt up and down. “I looked down and saw my boobies were showing coast to coast,” Saint said, laughing. “I just kept in the scene and slid under the water. What could I do? It was live television. To this day, all of these years later, someone will say to me ‘Miss Saint, you were doing One Man’s Family…’ and I’ll say, ‘I remember.’”
Tumblr media
Saint was married to Hayden for 65 years until his death at 90 in late 2016. And he was as exceptional a person as Saint, sweet and friendly. I asked her how the two met. Saint was a young actress and model in New York in the late 1940s, and Hayden was working in radio at NBC. “He saw me on the subway from the back, and he liked the way I walked,” Saint said with a smile. Hayden also noticed a big black book she was carrying that was her modeling portfolio. “The book I was carrying said ‘Eva Marie Saint’ in gold letters,” she noted. “He thought ‘I like the name.’”
They were fated to meet. Not long after seeing her on the subway, Hayden saw her again at Radio City talking with actor Arnold Stang, who also happened to be the only actor that Hayden knew. “So, he could go over to Arnold and Arnold would say ‘Hi Jeff, do you know Eva Marie?’”
The married in 1951, had two children and grandchildren.
My heart skipped a beat when she talked about how strong their marriage was after six decades. Saint noted she had been “thinking about life and I guess I was a little low. I said ‘Jeffrey, what in today’s world inspires you?’ He put his head up and said ‘You.’”
Norman Lloyd
Tumblr media
Norman Lloyd, who is still going strong at 105, is one of the most accomplished actors/producers/directors. Beginning as child actor in the 1920s, he starred on Broadway as a member of Orson Welles’ legendary Mercury Theatre in the late 1930s.
He’s appeared in countless movies, including as the evil villain who falls from the Statue of Liberty in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1942 classic thriller SABOTEUR, as well as Jean Renoir’s 1945 THE SOUTHERNER and Charlie Chaplin’s 1952 LIMELIGHT. And TV audiences may know him as the kindly Dr. Auschlander on NBC’s acclaimed medical drama St. Elsewhere from 1982-88.
Lloyd also had one of the strongest marriages in Hollywood. He and his wife Peggy, who died in 2011, were married for 75 years. Having interviewed him several times, I can attest that he is a terrific storyteller and the sweetest of peas.
When I chatted with him at his cozy Brentwood home in 2014, he was still playing tennis twice a week and regaling me with stories about Hitchcock (Hitchcock, Renoir and Chaplin were among his best friends.) In fact, Hitchcock saved his career in the 1950s. Lloyd had discovered jobs hard to find because of the Hollywood Blacklist. Though he was not officially blacklisted, his liberal leanings and friendship with those who had been blacklisted hurt his career.
Tumblr media
That didn’t stop Hitchcock from hiring him to be an associate producer on his classic anthology series Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1957. CBS told the Master of Suspense that there was a “problem” with Lloyd. Hitch persisted. “He said three words: ‘I want him,’” Lloyd recalled.
The Tiffany network, not wanting to upset one of the biggest directors in the world, immediately greenlit Lloyd, who initially worked with producer Joan Harrison, eventually became the executive producer of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour which ran until 1965. Lloyd also directed episodes of the series, including the devilishly fun 1960 installment “Man from the South,” starring Peter Lorre, Steve McQueen and the King of Cool’s then-wife Neile Adams.
Hitchcock and Lloyd reunited in the late 1970s for THE SHORT NIGHT, a thriller Hitch was hoping to make after 1976’s FAMILY PLOT. “Hitch, by the way, was not at his physical best,” Lloyd recalled. “He was really getting old and had difficulty walking. We were working on the script one day and he says to me, ‘You know, Norm. We are not going to make the picture.’”
Lloyd asked him what he meant by the statement. “He said to me a classic line: ‘Because it’s not necessary.’ When he died, the Directors Guild asked me to write a tribute to him, which I did. That’s what I ended it with.“

The Webs We Weave: Chapter 29
Start From The Beginning
Luke groaned as he opened his eyes. Looking around, he found Danny and Jessica laid out on the ground beside him. The room they were in was plain and vacant. It clearly wasn’t meant to house anyone.
“I feel like shit.” Jessica groaned, sitting up and holding her head. “Worse than any hangover I’ve ever had.”
“That’s impressive.” Danny mumbled into the floor.
“Shut up you ass.” she huffed, shoving him.
“As fun as it is to hear you two bicker, we got bigger problems.” Luke grunted, pushing himself up off the floor and walking to the door.
“Seems like a poor attempt to keep us hostage if they put us in here.” Danny frowned.
“All the better for us.” Luke said, pulling back his fist and slamming it into the door and flying back into the wall.
“Holy shit!” Jessica screamed, rushing to Luke’s side had his entire arm looked burnt. “What the hell was that?”
“Not as poor an attempt as I thought.” Danny winced as he looked over Luke’s arm.
“It’s a-”
“High powered electric field.” Norman’s voice cut off Luke’s reply. “It would be very foolish to keep three powerful individuals like you in such a simple room. Don’t worry though, you won’t be here long. I just have some things to take care of first.”
“You better hope your little field holds up Osborn.” Luke growled. “Cause it won’t be pretty if I get my hands on you.”
“You’ll find I’m not very concerned with what actually happens to any of you.“
They could hear the dismissal in his voice.
"I’m more concerned with the idiot ‘billionaire, playboy, philanthropist’ and the special little spider I’ve managed to catch. Enjoy your stay.”
The sound of the speaker crackled out as Jessica erupted into curses.
Danny felt around his ear, taking note for the first time that his communicator was missing. Unless Jessica or Luke had theirs, there was no way to reach Frank.

Felicia wiped her eyes as she continued down the tunnel. They had no idea where Peter and Tony had gone. They had no idea if continuing down the tunnels would even help them at all. No one knew where they all went anyway! What if they never found them? What if Norman already had them? What if whoever Norman was working for had his own plans for Peter? It wouldn’t be the first time someone would think they could experiment on him.
She wiped her eyes again.
She wanted her Peter.
If-no-when they got him back, he was going to be on house arrest until she deemed him safe enough to return to the outside.
It shouldn’t be to hard to keep him indoors. He’d have unpacking to do in his and Wade’s new apartment after all.
She sniffled.
“Hey,” Bucky said, grabbing her shoulders and pulling her into a hug. “We’re going to find him. I won’t just leave one of my idiot brothers behind.”
“One of your brothers?” Felicia asked, her face buried in his chest.
“Yeah.” Bucky chuckled. “Steve is idiot brother number one, Peter is idiot brother number two.”
Felicia giggled as she clutched his shirt tighter, enjoying the warmth of his arms around her.
“Usually Peter would have something snarky to say at this point.” she smiled.
“All the more reason to keep going. We’ve got to find him and take care of this Norman guy. We’ve all got lives to get back to that don’t involve a lunatic with a Halloween fetish.”
“Yeah. I’ve got to tell him how you held my dainty figure in your strong, masculine arms while I cried for him.” she snickered as Bucky choked.

Wade Wilson knew fury. He knew the dark desire revenge could be. He had given into that desire often enough to consider himself an expert.
Having Peter taken from him brought that dark desire front and center. He itched to pull the triggers of his guns, or swing the sharp blades of his katanas through someone’s flesh.
His thoughts were dark, and bloody. His ideas involved trails of blood and dismembered body parts. No, Peter wouldn’t like it, but he didn’t have to know either. Wade would never enact such things in front of his baby boy.
Still, if Wade was seething, murderous vengeance, he wasn’t sure what to describe the thing next to him as.
At this point, Wade had seen Matthew Murdock in various stages of emotions, but this was an entirely different beast.
For the first time ever, Wade realized the ‘Devil’ in Matt’s vigilante title might mean more than he thought.
A darkness seemed to roll off his shoulders. He was to silent to be natural.
Even the brat had noticed.
While he hadn’t been really interested in talking to either of them after the big reveal of Spider-Man’s identity, the kid was even quieter now.
“So, I can’t believe I’m the one asking this, but what’s our plan?” Wade said, breaking the tense silence.
Matt stopped completely, his face turned straight ahead.
“You two will get Peter and Stark. I will handle whoever’s there.”
“You wait a sec-”
Wade grunted as he was slammed into the wall, Matt’s arm buried in his throat.
“You listen to me Wilson, I won’t repeat myself. You two will get Peter and Stark and get them to safety. We have no idea what kind of shape we’re going to find them in. Considering our situation, I seriously doubt either of them would be any use to us. I need to know Peter is safe. I trust you to follow directions and get him out.
"Bu-” Wade choked as Matt pressed harder.
“My son was taken from me. You may be dating him Wilson, but he was my kid first. I made a promise to his aunt to get him out. I can die, Wade, you can’t. If anyone can make sure Peter gets out, it’s you. That’s always going to be your role. Peter is always going to be your job to protect. If you decide to ignore me and fight whoever we find, you better hope I die there. If I don’t, I’ll make it a personal goal to find a way to make sure you do. I’ll do what I have to, regardless of what it means for me.”
Matt growled as he released Wade and shoved him to the side before turning to Harley.
“The same thing goes for you. Get Stark out.”
“And if they’re fine?” Wade coughed, standing up fully. “You know Pete isn’t just gonna stand aside.”
“Then you better make sure he’s not alone.”
Even after being surrounded by Avengers, looking at Daredevil, Harley felt he could finally see what being a real hero really meant.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tony winced as his eyes cracked open to bright lights. His head throbbed and he felt sore. Peeling his eyes open slowly, he took note of his state. He was in a propped up position, but strapped to a metal table. Across from him, in the same situation, was a still unconscious Peter.
“Peter? Peter! Wake up kid!”
“He’s not going to hear you, Stark. I was very careful about how much sedative I gave him over you. I wanted us to have a few moments together.”
Tony growled as Norman stepped up beside him.
“I have to say, while I was hoping to catch two birds with one stone, you weren’t the other bird. Still, I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.”
“Who was crazy enough to let you out?” Tony glared.
“There was a time I would have risen to that bait, but I believe that out of the two of us, I’m not the one who has anything to worry about.” Norman smirked, moving over to Peter.
“He’s something else, isn’t he?” Norman asked, running a finger down Peter’s cheek. “A marvel for sure.”
“Don’t touch him!”
“Has he ever really discussed himself with you?” Norman asked, moving away from Peter, ignoring Tony.
“He’s done research on himself, you know. Extensive research. He’s accessed my servers to an extent Harry doesn’t even know about.”
Tony frowned, wondering where this was going.
“You know, the spider’s venom he received was never meant for human experimentation…..at least not when he was bitten. My people had run multiple tests on them and had been recording the changes in their poison. It was a secret project, so there were no time constraints.
One of the very few projects I gave free reign to.
I needed it to be perfect before anyone could know about it….and they were making progress all the time.” Norman looked over at a large monitor detailing information on the spiders.
“What was the project supposed to be?” Tony asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
“Once properly developed, they would be harvested to create a new breed of super soldiers…ones that would put Steve Rogers to shame. It isn’t a coincidence that Peter’s abilities are greater than Captain America’s. That was always the point.
"You just said it was never meant for human experimentation!”
“I said the spider that bit Peter wasn’t meant for human experimentation. None of the spiders in that batch were even remotely ready to be harvested. Truthfully, the fact he’s even alive is incredible. The venom literally altered his DNA.” Norman paused, looking from the screens to Peter.
“He’s far to precious to be out unsupervised. You had no idea what you had with him.” Norman said, glaring at Tony. “He nearly died the time he saved your ass by protecting your precious Stark property!”
“How about when you attacked him!”
Norman laughed as Tony fumed, guilt over the entire event of Peter’s Homecoming night gnawing at him.
“If you ever thought Peter’s life was really in danger, you’re more of an idiot than I took you for. While I didn’t know who was under the mask, I would never have killed them. They were far more valuable alive than dead. That said, he wasn’t going to come in quietly, and his abilities made close combat difficult to achieve. Naturally, I had to up the ante to acquire him. Admittedly, I underestimated the intelligence under the mask. It wasn’t simply brute force that beat me. Peter’s mind works amazingly fast to try and analyze everything around him.”
Tony didn’t respond, he didn’t need to. He was fully aware of the brilliance of Peter’s brain. While he would never flat out say anything to Harley, if Peter had decided to return to him and SI, he would easily put him as the main inheritor to the company.
Harley was smart and could most likely run the business perfectly but , he could be rash and come off a bit abrasive. Peter on the other hand, was extremely intelligent with a calm and friendly personality. Out of the two, people would most likely be more willing to deal with Peter than Harley…..kind of like how people were more willing to deal with Pepper than him.
Still, none of that mattered if they didn’t get out of here.
“Oh yes, you know all about him though, don’t you?” Norman sneered, sarcasm heavy in his voice.
“You know all about his perfect grades from the moment he entered school till he left. You know all about his life before his uncle passed.”
“I know they haven’t had it easy-“
“All you know about him is what any idiot can look up. You know nothing about what the Parker’s have experienced emotionally. Peter and Harry have been friends since they were very young. I’ve watched Peter grow up. I was around when he lost his parents. I went with my wife and son to the funeral. His parents were brilliant scientists.”
Norman chuckled, looking at Peter.
“He definitely took after them.”
Taking a breath, Norman moved to a small table and picked up a glass cube.
“I had hoped spending time with Peter would have been good for Harry. Maybe get him on the right track. Unfortunately, Harry will never amount to anything.”
“He seems to be running Oscorp just fine .” Tony sneered. “Better than you.”
“I’ll give it to him on one thing.” Norman said, walking up to Tony. “He made a smart move hiring Peter for the pharmaceutical department.”
Tony glared as Norman stopped before him. A sly grin spread across the man’s face as he held up the glass cube.
“Anyway, what do you think?”
Tony looked into the cube, taking in the small spider suspended inside. There was nothing special in the way it looked, but he had a pretty good idea of its importance.
“I’m sure you know why I’m showing you this. It’s the very spider that bit Peter.” he twirled the glass.
“It was found on the floor after the field trip had ended. At the time, we all assumed the spider had just died being outside of it’s controlled environment.”
Norman chuckled at himself.
“I’m honestly ashamed of myself for taking so long to put the pieces together on where Spider-Man might have gotten his abilities. Of course, when I did, I tried to offer him a place as a partner. With his abilities, given by me by the way, we could have made a formidable team.”
“How’d that work out for you?”
“It wasn’t to surprising.” Norman shrugged. “Spider-Man had chosen the path of the hero long before I got to him. It was just disappointing.”
“When did you figure out it was Peter under the mask?”
“Oh, I have you to thank for that.” Norman laughed.
“Think back, Tony Stark . Think back to the early days of a certain webslinger. Think back to a moment in time where you failed him by not trusting him over your own issues.”
Tony frowned, feeling like he should know where Norman was going, but missing something.
“Does the moniker of ‘Vulture’ ring any bells?”
Tony’s eyes widened.
“Oh yes. He was willing to keep Peter’s secret, until he was offered his freedom. It’s amazing what people will do for the chance to get what they want. For Toomes it was his family, for me, well, he’s right across from you.”
“You’re disgusting.”
“And you’re so much better?” Norman asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Have you not been pushing him to rejoin your little hero group? From what I’ve gathered, Spider-Man has never seemed to be interested in joining the Avengers. In fact, I’d say he went out of his way to avoid you.”
Tony’s jaw tightened.
“I guess my return worked more in your favor than you want to admit.” Norman smirked, moving back over to Peter.
“He should be waking up soon, then the real fun will begin.”
“What are you planning?”
“Well, I can’t let him out to wander the streets, now can I? No. So, he’ll have to be kept inside. Luckily, I’ve got some….. volunteers testing out some new features I plan to use in Peter’s room.”
“You’re going to keep him locked up like some prisoner? Yeah, I’m sure that will work out for you.”
“Well, it will only be temporary.” Norman shrugged. “Once he learns his place, he’ll be able to leave his room.”
Tony growled, pulling against his restraints.
“How cute, Stark. Do you really think you’ll be able to break those without your fancy suit?”
“You’re going to regret this Osborn!”
Norman just smirked, looking over at Peter as he started to stir.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frank grunted in annoyance as he checked over his gun for, what felt like, the hundredth time.
He was growing restless, not to mention the increasing feeling something was wrong.
“Hell with this.” he said, standing up.
“This stealth shit ain’t working for me.”
Grabbing his bag, Frank left the rooftop and headed off where he had watched the members of the Defenders go.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We gotta get out of here.” Jessica huffed, stalking around their prison cell.
“Well, until we figure out a way around that field, we arn’t going anywhere.” Danny sighed.
“It would be nice to have the nerd with us.” Luke mumbled.
“That little shit is definitely taking me out drinking once this is all over.” Jessica grit her teeth, kicking the wall to relieve frustration.
Danny watched as she stalked off toward the other side of the room, not bothering to look where her foot had made contact with the wall.
He looked however.
His eyes widened at the small dent and hairline crack in the wall.
Maybe they weren’t as trapped as they thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peter groaned as he struggled to regain consciousness. His head hurt slightly, and his eyes felt heavy.
Making to move his hand to rub his eyes, Peter snapped to awareness as he felt the restraints work against him.
“Wha-Tony?” Peter croaked out, throat dry.
“Peter!”
“Isn’t that cute.” Norman sneered. “Tony Stark all concerned for Peter Parker’s well being.”
“I’m not the one that drugged him and strapped him down!”
Peter took the two men arguing as a chance to fully assess his whereabouts and his situation.
He and Tony were both restrained and at the mercy of a psycho.
‘ Great. ’
Peter internally huffed.
He needed to figure out a way out of the restraints, but he could still feel the drugs in his system. He wouldn’t be anywhere near as good in a fight right now as he would be normally.
Still, he had to chance it.
He couldn’t let Tony stay here.
Norman wasn’t after Tony, despite their long time rivalry. That made Tony expendable. Expendable people usually didn’t last in these situations and despite their history, Peter couldn’t let anything happen to the man.
Spider-Man didn’t abandon anyone.
Twisting his wrists, Peter tested the strength of the restraints and various angles and points. Infuriatingly though, they were solid at all points.
“Well now, Peter.” Norman smiled. “Let’s help you get a better look at things.”
Peter watched as Norman moved to the side of the table and pressed a button. The table gave a slight vibration as it tilted forward, putting him into an almost standing position.
“There we go. Now we can all properly see each other.”
Peter held back his glare, refusing to give anything away as to how he was handling things.
“I’m so glad to see you again, Peter.” Norman smiled, an unsettling scenarity in the action. “Our time together was so short last time.”
“You’re the one who left.” Peter replied.
“Well, I had a few things to take care of.” Norman shrugged. “But everything is how it should be now.”
Norman moved directly into Peter’s eyeline, his expression sent Peter’s Spider-Sense screaming.
Norman reached out a hand, grabbing Peter’s chin roughly.
“Now, Peter, how about we finish what we st-”
“Osborn!”
Peter froze.
He knew that voice.
He knew that voice so well.
The missing puzzle piece had finally fallen into place
Norman grinned before dropping his hand and pulling Peter’s mask back over his face.
“Can’t have just anyone knowing your little secret, now can we?” Norman chuckled before  turning to the new arrival.
“I apologize for the lack of a proper delivery but ,” Norman chuckled. “I don’t believe we’ll have to wait much longer. As you can see, we have something he’ll be very anxious to have returned.”
“We better not.” the man threatened, before turning to both Peter and Tony.
Tony looked between the two men. It was obvious they were talking about Peter, but what business did either of them have trying to lure in Deadpool?
That was who they were after, right?
“I must say, Tony Stark was not who I was expecting to see when I came here.” the man chuckled before focusing his full attention on Peter.
“Hello again, Spider-Man.”
Peter looked at the man before him, a sinking feeling in his stomach.
“How’s it going, Fisk?”

Sammy’s and Normans first kiss?
I don't usually poke at these sorts of themes, but fair warning: This is slightly NSFW due to a few "wandering hands" on Sammy's part.
Summary: If there's anything that Norman regrets, it's his and Sammy's disaster of a first kiss...
---
     Susie's and Sammy's messy breakup over the replacement of Alice Angel's voice actress role had taken an even bigger toll on the studio than anyone could have ever imagined. Morale had already been low with the steady increase of workload, and the stress of overclocking to chug through the narrowing time frames between deadlines. So having both Sammy Lawrence and Susie Campbell, two of the most outspoken and loud folk in the studio, in such low spirits really had an impact on the other employees.
Sammy took it out on people, his fragility making his temperament unstable to the point lashing out felt like an easier way to cope than to deal with his emotional turmoils head on.
Susie resorted to pettier methods. Decreasing morale with rumors and cruel gossip, and overall making any voice over roles she got (the very same low grade background characters she'd begun with) a nuisance to get done if just to make Sammy's life more difficult. This in turn, fed the perpetual cycle of anger and frustration that permeated the recording booth.
Susie was gaslighting Sammy, and Sammy was verbally assaulting people in retaliation. All of this generated by Joey Drew "accidentally" sending everyone but the intended employee a memo detailing sensitive information regarding their work.
Truly, Norman was at his wits end from pure exasperation over Drew's tactics to keep the studio under his iron grasp. He knew the sort of dangerous game that devil of a man was playing, and he hated how easily everyone fell into place.
Above all, he hated what Joey was slowly shaping both Sammy and Susie into.
     Back in Louisiana Norman had a particular childhood bully who was the ringleader of the bigger meaner kids in town. He was a scrawny meek looking boy with a devious spark in his eye. A thinker instead of a go-getter.
That boy had made Norman's life a living hell, up until his growth spurt came in (he'd been a late bloomer so that had been a good 15 years under that little hellion's tyrannical grasp). Once Norman became bigger than his bullies, that clever bastard had tried buttering up to him. Get him nice and friendly so he'd fall in line with the rest of the thugs.
Once Norman 'kindly refused', he'd instead tried to make him look bad to the rest of the neighborhood. Not too hard, considering he'd always been a bit of a sneak, but honestly he'd never much minded what others thought.
Norman was the weird kid with the crazy eye, and the lightest feet in town. He could sneak up on the feral cats that lived in the overgrown playground without getting heard, and he was the kid that knew sign language because one day his hearing was going to go because he was born with something inherently wrong with his ears. He was also the kid that woke up at 5AM sharp to run training drills with his old man and his siblings.
Nothing the little jerk could do or say had ever made much of an impact on his reputation. Then one day of course his little sister came in missing a braid and his little brother had a split lip. That day Norman beat the shit out of that hellspawn and got in trouble for standing up to his bully.
That's what Drew was doing. Pulling all sorts of cheap manipulative tactics that were slowly shaping the people he employed into being predisposed to doing whatever he felt like.
Be it light threats hidden in passive aggressive comments, invitations to lunches or dinners where he'd test his boundaries of control over certain situations like who paid the bill or what sort of seed of doubt he could implant in someone's brain, or even feed the fires of someone's ire by meddling with their relationships.
By doing this to Sammy, especially, Joey was destroying his reputation as a respectable musician. The blond music director may be unreasonably unsociable, but that did not affect the quality of his work in the least. If anything Sammy seemed to work better under a more private setting.
Now that he was the focus of scrutiny and that people were constantly intruding upon his given workspace however, things were blurring. Professional and personal life had mixed and Joey was purposefully poking a sleeping bear to maintain control over the only composer he knew he could effortlessly keep under his control.
If Sammy so much as tried to quit, the damage of his current behaviors would ensure he'd never be employed ever again, and then where would he go from there when he had bills and rent to pay, and another mouth to feed?
Susie too was at risk.
She'd taken the hit so badly that she was actively fighting her employer and superior by behaving in an almost childish way in protest over being personally wronged. By demeaning her own work she was risking one of Joey's infamous blacklistings from the working industry. Who'd hire a difficult broad that thought she ran the show?
No one, that's who. Not in this overly masculine society.
     20 years ahead of both in experience, Norman was well and truly concerned. Both of them weren't bad people. They were fine adults with their whole life ahead of them if they played their cards right and sorted their emotional bullshit before snakes like that devil Drew got them cornered like mice in a maze. They were also both very competent and passionate about their work (which honestly was very attractive to him).
Obviously they weren't getting it on their own, so he had to stir them towards the right path somehow. A little nudge.
If only things weren't so hard in this damn studio… Getting to Susie was complicated considering she was avoiding people. And Sammy? Well, Sammy had some concerning vices.
  "He's been drinking." Jack had taken Sammy under his wing a while back. Norman knew how much the lyricist cared for his coworker and friend, so the pain in his voice was palpable. "He's hardly himself anymore. He's resorting to racist comments and shouting matches because he can't come up with any real reason to put people down, and I caught Wally straight up crying in the bathroom the other day because Sammy made fun of his spots to the point he couldn't take it anymore."
  "Miss Campbell ain't doin' no better. Word is she pitched a mighty tantrum ta other day in ta booth." At least that's what he'd witnessed while doing his usual rounds. "Sammy threatened ta write her up so Joey would fire her."
  "Don't remind me… I was conducting the band while Sammy helped Miss Pendle, and then Susie just barged in!" Jack ran a hand over his tired face, looking a decade older than he actually was. Just from how frustrated the situation left him. "I'm losing my best friend Norman… If this keeps up I won't be able to stand Sammy. Wally feels just about the same with Susie. They're hurting everyone around them and they don't care because they're so caught up on attacking each another…"
  "They is more stubborn than a mule in ta field. Ain't nothin' I could say that could fix what Drew's meddlin' has done, but I could sure try ta call them ta reason." He muses. "I've had ta knock some sense into Sammy before. Could use the reminder..."
  "You're not gonna hit him are you? Norman you could get fired…" Jack looked concerned at this.
  "N'aw. Drew don't care, I roughed him up before and our 'kindly boss' didn't give a rat's ass 'bout his wellbeing." Norman stated. "Henry sure did give me an earful tho…"
  "Who…?"
  "An old friend… Anyhow, can't hurt ta go see Sammy 'bout his deplorable behavior. You know where he gone off to?" Norman dismissed the question with a smile.
Jack shrugged at him in reply.
  "You could try his office. Unless you know where he holes himself up, then he's probably there." The shorter of the two men fixed his bowtie and grabbed his hat from the hanger at the door. "Please go easy on him… It's not his fault."
  "Don't excuse him being a right pain to everyone else."
  "No, but you wouldn't blame a wounded dog to bite when cornered would you?"
  "That's what a muzzle is for."
Not that a muzzle would work on Sammy's sort of breed. He was not one to be silenced so easily in his pain.
Subdued… Maybe, if he had a couple of glasses of that yummy bravery juice and an ear to badger. He wasn't a wordsy man in the sense that he could elaborate what he felt. He was more the word vomit type that said what he felt in bursts. Not very articulate but definitely trying to show what was going on in that confused head of his.
Silencing Sammy was not worth the effort. It'd only make the situation worse. At best, Norman hoped to get him talking after knocking him about just a little.
It never occurred to him that he'd end up doing something else entirely.
     Jack hadn't been kidding. The kid had indeed been drinking, and god the smell of whiskey in his office was overpowering. It came off thicker than Sammy's cheap cologne, and it definitely reminded him of his Pepaw's bootlegging days. The sharp smell of alcohol and a man's bitter tears beneath the dense musk of despair.
Norman crinkled his nose in displeasure as he watched the wiry frame of the blond music director draped over his desk like some twisted puppet that had its strings cut off abruptly. A soft noise made him roll his good eye, wondering when Sammy had fallen so far from grace to the point he was openly snoring in his office like he didn't care about his reputation.
He walked closer, half ready to slap him awake when he realized the noises weren't snores. More like keening whimpers. Soft and throaty, just barely contained.
Then he really scrutinized what the kid was doing. Left arm cushioning his head, while the other was… Oh.
  "Fuckin' Christ Sammy…"
The other's flushed face turned to look at him with a jump, his hand still stuck in his pants, and his eyes just barely focusing.
The wretched smell of alcohol and sweat were already an indicative of his state of inebriation. The lack of shame in his actions, another indication.
But then it was the way he was staring up at him that really gave Norman a scope of just how shitfaced Sammy was.
  ".........S'dat you Norms…?" Speech slurred and bleary eyed. Drunk as an Irishman on Saint Patty's, or a German man on Oktoberfest. This was not a dignified way to find the ornery composer. If anything Norman felt wrong intruding on… Whatever this was. A pity wank?
  "I… should come back later." He was not dealing with this.
  "No!" Sammy reached out for him. "S'day. S'ged'ing lon'ly…"
The taller of the two froze and bit his lip in discomfort. He was not staying to watch Sammy jack off, there was no way in hell. He'd seen Piedmont enough times to warrant a restraining order if the man ever found out what he'd been up to while hiding in the walls. He wasn't going to perv on someone 20 years younger than himself. That was just wrong... As hypocritical as that may sound.
  "I really should let yous finish that…" he tried to back off, but the other clearly wasn't getting it. Counting bottles, Norman could guess why exactly that was. Just how much had Sammy drank?
  "Pl'ase. S'day… D'n't wonna… D'n't feel good all al'ne…" Sammy sniffled loudly. Still reaching out for him with his unoccupied hand. The other was still very much preoccupied down south, from what he could tell in the dark.
  "Sammy Lawrence I am not watchin' you pleasurin' yourself like some deviant! That ain't right!" Hypocrite, the little voice in the back of his mind hissed. You would.
  "Why no'd…? You cute…" Had he… had Sammy just called him cute? A man twice his age and well outside the whole petit brunettes sort he liked? "Big an' han'some… You cou'd brea' me… I'd let's you…"
This was… this was not what he imagined when he'd come to confront Sammy. That hungry, lustful look under the drunken stupor. The way he wasn't even trying to hide his pleasure as he unapologetically stroked himself while speaking to Norman.
An open invitation. It evoked something the older of the two men had been trying to bury for a while now. Desire. A desire that was certainly making his own trousers feel a tad constrictive.
But he couldn't. Not like this. Sammy wasn't in the right state of mind for this.
As if reading his mind, the blond stumbled forward. The projectionist backed up once more to avoid his grasp, but found his back colliding with the office door. Closing it and cornering himself in the process.
Sammy breached his personal space and put a hand to his chest. Norman tensed under his touch, watching transfixed as the composer felt up his pecks in clear adoration. Adoration. Sammy Lawrence was showing something other than annoyance towards him and it felt like he was watching the man being enlightened in some way.
  "So strong…" He felt himself swallowing around a thick lump in his throat as Sammy's purrs got to his groin rather quickly. "So han'some…"
Norman's good eye went back to the fiddling hand, just barely able to see what was happening beneath fabric. Then he felt Sammy's exploring touch lower until it rest between his legs.
  "So big…" The blond whispered seductively before he pressed their lips together in a bid to get what he wanted. Get what both wanted. The taste was both vile and tempting. So hard to push away... But Norman knew it was inherently wrong to exploit.
  "Ok that's enough a' this charade!" He grabbed hold of Sammy's shoulders and pushed him off, ignoring the painful ache between his legs that begged for the music director's hand to return. "Yous don't just go feelin' up a fella's package you damn twit! If I was one o' them homophobes I woulda beat yous black an' blue for this! Ya gotta be smart Sammy, or yous is gonna end up dead one o' these days!"
The blond stared up at him in confusion and mild shock, clearly unhappy about the rejection. He pulled his hand out of his trousers and just stared at him with that semi unfocused gaze that was slowly gaining a bit of clarity as time progressed.
  "... Did… I do bad…?" His confusion soon turned into frustrated anger "Why m'I never good 'nough?!"
  "Sammy what are ya hollerin' 'bout?"
  "M'I ugly? W'y s'everyone got'a leave?!" Sammy stalked back over and pushed Norman against the door, clearly ready to blow up out of anger. "M'I not good 'nough for you?!"
  "Sammy…"
  "J'ust wonna feel! Feel good!" The music director looked him in the eye, practically begging. "Wonna feel good! Pl'ease! Ju'sh wonna feel loved!"
  "Wouldn't be right… you're drunker than a skunk… ain't right kid. Please see reason…" He pleaded, honestly pleaded with the distraught man.
To his credit, it sort of worked. Sammy cried out in anger and shoved him a few more times against the door for good measure, before collapsing into a crying heap. All Norman could really do was kneel down and try to comfort him.
  "J'us wonna m-matter…"
  "Damn it Sammy… You do matter." He held him closely, feeling bitter about the circumstances behind the gesture. "Yous don't gotta offer yourself up like this ta feel like you do…"
Rather than reply, Sammy sobbed and clung to him for dear life. Letting all the pent-up heartbreak out.
The games Drew played… they had an impact that Norman truly despised. Ones that lead people into the brink of desperation. Sammy was already a casualty of it, Susie not far behind.
That night Norman took it upon himself to take Sammy home, not trusting the kid to be able to go on his own. He practically carried him all the way, making sure to go through less frequented streets to conserve some of the dignity the music director had left.
Knocking on the door and having to explain to Sammy's sister that he was out of it was... Distressing. That girl may be a ray of sunshine, but the obvious disapproval behind Abigail's eyes was colder than ice.
They'd been at odds recently, the two siblings, because of just how badly things were spiraling.
Abigail wanted Sammy to leave the studio, find something else to do that didn't take such a toll on his mental health. Sammy refused, out of pride and fear for what Drew might do to sabotage him.
Norman found that this was another thing he couldn't exactly fix. Wherever that devil of a man looked, a strange taint followed. Even something as pure as a sibling bond, or a kiss.
And god, did Norman regret that damn kiss.
What a fucking mess.
