Good news! My new earrings came today
Also good but more sheepish news, I may have gotten a little pierce-happy andnpw have THREE new piercings, rather than the original one I was reopening. (All in my ears btw. I'm not brave enough to do my face what with all the nerves and blood vessels)
Also! Adrenaline is a HELL of drug. I didntfeel anything, and my hands are still shaking

It's raining, ghost idly notes. Technically he should be focusing on the field briefing that they're getting, but they'd already gooten one when assigned, one before they left base, and one on the plane ride here. So really, they're just talking in cirlces now.
Price is at the front of the table explaining the plan, which they have to wait four hours to even begin acting on, standing next to the open laptop showing all the documents they need.
Gaz is trying very poorly to act like he's listening. Poorly because he's been flicking wadded up pieces of paper at price (who is ignoring it pretty well)
Ghost usually doesn't sit during briefings, he gets distracted, so he takes up a spot by the wall.
But soap, uncharacteristically is also leaning up against the wall next to him. Usually he playing footsies.with gaz across the table, but not today.
Price is still droning on about the mission blah blah blah, ok well not blah blah blah but it's nothing he hasn't already memorized.
He watches soap squeeze tightly at his knee again, for the third time in the last 20 minutes, as far as he cam reach without making it obvious. Ghost also notes that he's stiffer than usual.
He leans into soap's space just a bit, "you 'kay?" He whispers. Soap nods almost imperceptibly.
"Yeah, why?" He hisses.
"It's just... you know you can sit down right?" He says, gesturing slightly to the 3 open chairs at the table. One of which would normally be occupied by a certain scot anyway.
"Yea- I knoe tha', I chose to stand for a reason."
"Well- I was jus' sayin', ya look uncomfortable, s' all."
"I am, tha's why I'm standing."
"Yeah, 'cus that makes sense-"
"Are you two done arguing yet?" Price cuts in. Soap looks just as chastised as Ghost feels, which... is really only enough to fake it.
"Yes, sir." They both respond, and peice goes back to his rambling.
The meeting ends soon enough, and they're finally released to get ready or whatever they need to do.
"You sure you’re okay, johnny?" Ghost catches a stiff legged soap just before he leaves.
"Aye, s' rain s'all" Ghost isn't really sure what that has to do with anything, and he says as much. "I fucked up my knee a few years ago, it's fine now, the rain just makes it act up a little. Something Something low pressure atmosphere, basic science, I think."
"Okay, well you know you could sit down. Would probably help." Ghost suggests... again
"Yeah and I'll not stand up again, not with this wanker" soap snorts at him, referring to his knee. Ghost frowns.
"Well... anything I can do to help?", soap shifts from one foot to the other.
"Not unless you got me some new knees. It's fine, Ghost, I'm still mission ready if that's what you're worried about. I actually had to redo the fitness tests once I healed up just to make sure I could still do my job."
"..."
"What?" Soap shifts hsi weight again
"... that's really.. not what I was asking about."
"Aye, well- what do you brits say- 'cheers, mate' I'm fine. Swear it."
"And that's why you're limping around?" Sure, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not technically inaccurate.
"I'm no' 'limping' around, and even if I was it's hardly noticeable. Why do you even care so much, it's no' you're problem." Soap sasses back.
"Well, I'd like to help if I can-"
"How? You gonna shout it outta me? There ain't shite you can do for it. Just leave it be, aye?"
"... fine, but I can help if you let me."
"Aye, I'll keep that in mind, thanks." And then he was walking away, off to do whatever he need to do before their mission.
Ghost makes a note to himself to ask about it again after they're back on base.

Anyways I had just typed out a whole nice summary of Flatland's social structure for those who haven't read it yet but tumblr just ate it. And I have to redo the image descriptions too. Sigh.
Anyways. Long story short: The wider your angles, the higher your social status Under the Current Regime, which is super fascist and that's the point. It's a dystopia.
The lowest class is literally called the Criminal class. It is made up of Irregular shapes, aka, disabled people, and polygons with angles of less than 10 degrees. They have no rights at all. Lets just stop there.
The second lowest class is made up of Lines, who are classified as Women. They likewise have no rights, and have a ton of restrictions placed on them to control their movements.
Just above Lines are Isosceles triangles, who are forced to be Soldiers, aka canon fodder.
The lowest three classes are routinely murdered en-masse to stop them from revolting, with many schemes in place to keep them in-fighting instead of fighting together against their oppressors.
The middle class is made up of equal-sided triangles.
The upper-middle class is made up of squares.
The more sides you have, the higher your rank, the more money and privilege you have, until you get up to the circles, who have declared themselves the rulers.
That's the basics. Anyways.
It's very funny to me that the Kel-lite official website uses a free font I use to make neopronoun pins.

Quick vent about my school mental health awareness system and child protection: it sucks, like sucks ASS sucks.
Like "sure we will take you out of lesson to talk about your problems, but hey too deep into it and we will have to threaten call your parents which could be the reason for your high levels of anxiety and your outbursts of panic attacks"-
Also, recently I went to my safeguarding councillor to try and prevent some bullying I've been getting from a group of girls in my english lessons, but THEN the woman brought up my home problems like?? Excuse you but I have other problems before things I've been dealing with for my entire life and can handle for a long enough to be able to ask you to help me deal with this BULLYING problem.
it's not that deep- and I get shes trying to help but that's NOT what I need right now, I need someone to listen to what's going on and be able to help me so I dont feel more like a worthless peice of shit that has no use of being on this earth and cant accomplish anything.
Like- I walked into her office fabulous and walked out like j was in one of those Billie ellish music videos, I had to redo my entire make up,so that was lovely.

during my trip to the moma Museum, two artworks that resonated with me were the peices by georgia okeeffe
the particular piece by okeeffe that resonated with me did so because in the description and explained that she had drawn this picture around seven times. It went to explain that the reason she does this is because she wants to get it perfect. this resonates with me, because when I am working on a piece of artwork, I feel the same way, as if there is always need for improvement. This tells viewers a lot about not only her work ethic, but about okeeffe as a person in general. Many artists can relate to the feeling of their work being subpar as well as the feeling of needing to redo their work. okeeffes collection, puts this feeling on display.
another piece by Okeefe, which resonated with me, was one of her landscapes, the painting which is done in watercolour is not a traditional landscape in the sense that she is not trying to capture the image, accurately, visually, but rather she is taking her own spin on what she sees. While it is still somewhat obvious that the painting is of a landscape, are use of water colour allows for a more free and vibrant design. The water colours mixed together, creating a vibrant and eye-catching design. I particularly like this piece because it shows that there are more than one way to convey an image rather than just painting exactly what you see. Her work inspires me to expand my art work in different and unusual ways.
during my visit to the moma museum, I was exposed to multiple different artistic movements, for example the moma showcased works from the modern, contemporary and expressionism eras. modern art is shown in architecture, paintings, drawings, among other things, modern Art sometimes utilises Cubism, and it has most noteably influenced American art through modern architecture. expressionism can sometimes utilise abstract methods of painting. It has open the door for modern day artists to express themselves in unique and unfamiliar ways. contemporary art can sometimes be seen in technological ways, it has influenced American Art, notably through the use of a I and digital art.
in general, the more modern, pieces of art resonated with me personally, because they are most of the time neat and utilise CleanCut shapes this resonates with me because I like it when things are neat because it helps me focus, and I am able to understand the art more clearly.
overall, my trip to the Momo Museum has inspired me to explore more mediums, and thrust myself into unfamiliar, and sometimes uncomfortable new forms of art.

Staycation
A/N: Just some pure tooth rotting fluff for these quarantine times. Reminder to stay safe and wear a mask in public.

Week 1
“Maybe it won’t be so bad.” Spencer said.
You had to go into quarantine and your best friend was trying to convince you that it wouldn’t be bad.
“How? I’m a high school teacher who suddenly has to teach on zoom, and I live alone. I don’t even have like, a cat!” You said.
“I live alone too! And as far as we know, this’ll be over in two weeks and you’ll be back in the classroom in no time.” Spencer said, placing his hands on your shoulders.
You were currently in Spencer’s apartment, freaking out over the email you had gotten from the school you worked at, saying they were going to be closing for two weeks. Stupid virus.
Spencer and you had met two years ago in a bookstore when you ‘fought’ over the last copy of a book. You ended up getting it, but you also left with a phone number that would turn into your best friend’s phone number.
“I’ve got the best idea!” You said, suddenly.
“What?” Spencer asked.
“We could quarantine together!” You said.
“What? That seems like it goes against the rules of quarantine.” Spencer said.
“Think about it! It won’t be that long, and we both live alone. To save us from going insane, we could quarantine together!” You said.
Spencer seemed to be warming up to the idea. “Who’s apartment would we stay at?” He asked.
“Well...your apartment is bigger than mine. And you have a guest bedroom. And you have a washer and dryer already in your apartment.” You said.
“Fine. You can stay in my guest room for the few weeks we’ll be here.” Spencer said. “We can go grab your stuff later.”
“Oh this is going to be the best staycation ever!” You said.
Week 2
“This staycation sucks ass.” You said, dangling over the couch.
“Aren’t you supposed to go back to school soon?” Spencer asked from his desk. The last week had been fun, but being in the same apartment while both trying to do your jobs was hard.
“No. We got pushed back again. They said maybe by mid-April we’ll go back.” You said.
Spencer’s job at the FBI was changing too. For the safety of the team, they had stopped traveling and were only doing consults from their homes. The team also had a zoom meeting everyday, which meant sitting in your guest room for a very long time.
“That sucks. How are your students reacting?” Spencer asked.
“Eh. They say they love getting to catch up on all their Netflix shows, but some say they miss me, which warms my cold dead heart.” You said.
You flipped off the couch and went over to Spencer’s desk.
“I have a good idea.” You said. “How about tonight we stay up late and watch as many episodes of Doctor Who as we can?”
“That’s the best idea you’ve ever had.” Spencer said.
Later on, the two of you were settled on his couch, holding a bowl of popcorn and under a blanket. As the episodes went on, you caught yourself looking over at Spencer periodically.
His curls had gotten more wild, and you had never noticed the shape of his jaw before.
“Y/N?” He asked. You hadn’t realized he caught you staring at him.
“Sorry, I just zoned out there for a minute.” You said.
Week 3
You were on a zoom call with your third period class, going over Manifest Destiny. Spencer’s call with his team was later in the day so you actually got to do the call from the office for once.
Spencer had stepped in a few minutes ago to grab a book off his shelves, and was now looking at the shelves behind you.
“Can anyone name the president who really pushed for Manifest Destiny?” You asked.
“James K. Polk.” Spencer said from behind you without hesitating.
“Spencer, last time I checked, you weren’t enrolled in my third period American Studies class.” You said.
This caused a few laughed from your class.
“Sorry.” He said before slipping out of the office and back towards the kitchen.
One of the girls on your screen raised her hand.
“Yes, Amelia.” You said.
“Is he your boyfriend, Miss Y/L/N?” She asked.
You felt your face flush. “I-uh-no. Spencer’s just my friend.” You said. Wanting to change the subject as quickly as possible you moved on to your next question.
Later, when you were watching some random reality tv show, you thought about it. Sure, you really like Spencer, but enough to date him?
Maybe there was something there.
Week 4
“Ugh!” You called out, slamming your phone down on the kitchen island.
“You ok, Y/N?” Spencer asked.
“No! No, I’m not ok! I just found out we’re going to be doing online for the rest of the year!” You said. “It sucks. I had so many fun activities planned and I was so excited for the end of the year and I just-“
You stopped as you felt tears well up in your eyes. It was only your second year as a teacher and you were really looking forward to redoing some of your favorite things from last year and some new activities.
“Oh, Y/N, I’m sorry.” Spencer said. He came up beside you and wrapped his arms around you.
You fell into his embrace and you two stood like that for a few minutes, Spencer holding on to you, you crying into his shoulder.
When he pulled away, he wiped the tears from under your eyes.
“How about a nice long marathon of whatever show you like?” Spencer asked.
“Even if it’s cheesy and stupid?” You asked.
“Especially if it’s cheesy and stupid.” Spencer said, pulling you in for another hug.
Week 5
“Can I give you a haircut?” You asked.
“Absolutely not.” Spencer said.
You were standing behind him, and you ran your hand through his hair. “It’s getting really long though! I promise I won’t mess it up!” You said.
“No, I draw the line at haircutting. Have you ever even cut hair before?” Spencer asked.
“Once. On a Barbie doll.” You said.
“So no. You are not cutting my hair.” Spencer said.
You moved so you were sitting next to him and did your best puppy dog eyes. “Just a couple inches?” You asked.
You sat staring at him for a few seconds before he sighed.
“Fine. Two inches.” He said.
“Yay!” You said.
A few minutes later you were in the bathroom, Spencer sitting in a chair, you holding the best pair of scissors you could find.
“I’m so glad you let me do this.” You said, brushing through his hair.
“Only because you’re my best friend.” He said.
You smiled and grabbed the scissors, and started cutting the back of his hair.
“Be careful. That sounds like a lot.” Spencer said.
“Calm down, it’s like an inch-maybe two.” You said.
You worked in silence for a few seconds before coming around to his side. You cut some peices and then kneeled down in front of him. You were now eye level.
You brought a few pieces of his hair over to the other side, in an attempt to make it even. You didn’t even realize that Spencer was looking at you until you let go of his hair.
“Hi.” You whispered.
“Hi.” Spencer whispered back.
Suddenly, he was leaning forward, but not all the way. Kind of like a signal, if you didn’t want this, you could still pull away.
But you didn’t pull away. You wanted this. You leaned closer and pressed your lips to his. Spencer pulled away after a few seconds, and then smiled at you.
“I’m really glad you gave me a haircut.” Spencer said.
“I’m really glad you agreed to let me stay here with you.” You said.

May 23–3rd year
Junior year in college and you were slowly failing your communication class. The only thing that could maintain it is the group project that was coming up.
Yes, you're a failing student. But that's okay because you tend to pass most of the work since your friends would be in most of your classes and groups.
Sadly, this time wasn’t one of them.
You quickly stepped off the bus as you ran from your stop to the campus gates. You glanced at the time to realize you're going to be late.
“Y/n! TAKE YOUR TIME” your two best friends called behind you.
THE FÖCK YOU TRYING TO GRADUATE.
As you rushed to make your way to your failing class you felt someone with a black hoodie bump into you.
Your patience has warred off and you were fucking losing it.
I guess you guys already know what's about to go down… 😔 *sigh*
You thought they were going to apologize but…NOPE! bitch thought wrong.
The thought of cussing them out went through your mind but before you could you remembered the time—
Finally, you made it to your class. You took a seat at your regular spot while you waited for your friends.
Luckily the professor was late today.
BITCH REALLY RAN TO CLASS I—
Not long after the professor arrived and as the class continued he said to get into groups.
You watched as you slowly saw everyone in the room shift to different places.
It didn't take you long for you to finally find your group. You sat down and made eye contact with someone familiar.
Your eyes widened to come to the conclusion that it was the same person who bumped into you.
Y/n boutta throw that guy out a window..
The guy squinted his eyes while glaring at you.
“Osumu do you know her??” the guy next to him asked, bumping his arm.
You hid behind your laptop; trying to avoid the situation
Before the guy could answer one of the older peers spoke.
You would think that everything will be ignored by the time people start working…
Well föck were you wrong… Osumu starred you down the whole time…(kinda hot doe)
Finally, the class ended and you were ready to head out.
As you were making your way to the dining hall your hunger was at
max since rushing to the campus was the first priority. You were about to buy origini balls but—
THIS MF TOOK THREE!
At this point you hated him. He turned around and looked at you before sticking his tongue out. (lil mf)
Not only did he have the audacity to take the last servings but he casually sat across from you. Were you about to go crazy? maybe.
“ Your y/n right??” he asked while biting in one of the rice balls.
“HE CAN SAY MY NAME BUT NOT SORRY?!” (Y/n malfunctioning)
The two of you always ended up arguing in the group project.
Butting heads with each other.
Also, scoffing and getting back at each other constantly..
At the point where you have concluded that he was a mongrel( im sorry )
Except that one time…
On your way back to the library from the vending machines you heard two familiar voices loudly echoing down the hall. You walked towards it curious if everything was okay. As you turned the corner to check your eyes met with a scene of Osumu arguing with an older female.
“I guess he has mommy problems 🤭”
Before you left you were stopped by their sudden conversation.
“I didn’t ask for this— do you KNOW how useless this is??!” the girl threw something towards him as he just stood there.
“Breakup with me then..” Osumu’s cold words escaped from his lips which seemed to make the girl angrier.
“ YOU LOOK LIKE A FUCKING SOCIOPATH FINE THEN!!”
The woman stormed off which made you back away. You looked back at his direction to see him not there. As you turn your way back you stopped in your tracks to meet eyes with a very stressed Osumu. “It's rude to eavesdrop hun..” You ignored his comment and looked at him worried. “Are you oka-.” You were cut off by him. “ Don't look at me like.. I don't need your pity dumbass.”
You look down at his hands that were shaking. Slowly, your hand reached to grab his, he looked at you before covering your eyes with his hand. You kept hearing the faint sounds of him crying before hearing words come from him.
“Be my friend…”
WHAT?! WHAT THE FUCK—
June 3rd—junior year
It's been a couple of days since that strange meetup but the two of you have realized that it has become a trend for you guys to be around each other.
The two of you have planned to study for communication class in the rec room. It was late for studying but...exams for that class were the next day.
Get a guy who would procrastinate with you 😭
As you got there you immediately saw him pull a chair out.
“Hi dumbass”
You hit the back of his head before taking your books out.
It was 12:30am where you started feeling your eyes grow heavy.
“Wakeup!! dumbass”
Your head shot up from the desk. You looked at your surroundings before looking at Osumu.
Before you knew it you were having a mental breakdown.
“I'M NOT GONNA PASS AND I'M GOING TO HAVE TO REDO THE CLASS” You felt small tears run down your cheek.
It wasn’t long until you felt his hand on the top of your head.
“Shut up you're going to pass jus—“ He was cut off by your sudden action of holding his hand.
“You have a habit of holding my hand don't you?” He said moving his face closer to yours giving you a smirk.
‘Don't look at me like that~’
You had a slight tint of pink across your cheeks. He noticed your expression and immediately backed away.
“GET BACK TO WORK!!” He slammed your books onto your face before running out—
June 18–Junior year
It was the day results of the exam were going to be released. You and Osumu were sitting at the local cafe. The two of you sat there with your eyes plastered on the screen with your fingers crossed.
The two of you heard a *ding* before jumping out of your seats. You both continuously started scrolling before looking at each other.
“SAMU I PASSED?!!!” You jumped towards his figure hugging him.
His body became tense at first before realizing the situation and calming down.
“I LOVE YOU?!! THAN—“

“I Do too..”

EVALUATION:
To begin with, my research was very varied, i tried to explore as many techniques and processes that i could. I focused on traditional handcrafts and textile processes, exploring the technique and their role in history and society. I really enjoyed learning new skills, and i’ve since thought of lots of ways i can use them outside of this project in my own life. I also did more print experimentation, i got some vintage relief plates in amsterdam that i really enjoyed playing around with-especially the peice in which i incorporated cross stitch. Two artists that particularly really inspired me are Yinka Shonibare and Tilleke Shwartz- both these artists take traditional and historical things and distort them and use them in unconventional ways. Shonibare’s victorian dresses remade with african wax fabric are so incredibly striking they really inspired me, the bold colours and prints used in a style that typically did not use print or pattern very often is such a wild contrast it really stuck with me throughout the project. Shwartz’s embroidery is also sonething that i thought about quite alot throughout, embroidery and cross stitch are so often these pretty floral designs even now that Shwartz’s very different approach really stands out as unique.
My project evolved from this idea of historical techniques and processes into historical dress, heavily inspired by my visits to the Victoria & Albert museum and various museums in Amsterdam. I chose to work from a historical period amd try and make it historically accurate in construction because i really wanted to better my construction skills and forcing myself to make fitted garments with so many details and different aspects to them really showed yet sttengthened all of my weak points. My construction skills have gotten so much better, i understand alot more about not only how clothing works but also history. I think this project has also really made me step up my attention to detail, my hand sewing has gotten so much better and all those times when i’ve gone back to redo something that wasnt quite right has really payed off.
I think i’ve really fulfilled my statement of intent: i really enjoyed learning all new skills for the workshops, i got lots of primary research, i did far more planning and sketching and mathst than i’d ever done previously. Two areas where i didnt fullfill my plan as much was to use more printmaking (although this was because of the pandemic) and using unusual materials. I think if i were to do it again i would have experimented more woth this, using plastic or metal perhaps.
I have achieved what i set out to do, creating structurally accurate historical garments whilst exploring print and pattern as well as fabric manipulation and handcrafts, learning new techniques, learming new methods, refining my skills and learning more about construction and how garments work. I do think i could have planned my time better, although i for the most part did stick to my time plan the extra day here or there to finish up a garment meant i didnt have enough time to make the final bodice which i am quite dissapointed about as it meant i didnt have a complete set. If i had more time or didnt have a pandemic i would have changed my designs quite alot, i was thinking of designing and printing all of my fabrics for the outerwear but since i was printing at home with limited materials and space that meant it wasnt possible. I also wouldve liked to make my other designs, based off animals, plants, and the sea. This would have taken too much time, so also wasnt really an option. I also would have photographed my final outcomes alot better if i could have, it was really hard to do it all by myself hauling lamps around and positionong my phons on an ironing board. Its a bit dissapointing because you cant see all the detail and quality of finish in the photos, once i’m able i’m going to organise a proper photoshoot with some friends.
I am really glad i chose to do this, because these construction skills and understanding will be very useful next year at university where i will be studying costume. Also my exploration into historical dress has really inspired me, and i feel i have a much better understanding of different eras of dress and fashions i didnt understand previously. The working at home has also helped me to think about how i work when im not at college, although not being on campus didnt affect me a great deal because i had all my fabric and materials, i have my own sewing machine, i have my own space to work in, it did make my think about how i manage my time personally and how i approach my own projects. Working at home does definitely have its drawbacks, especially in lockdown, since my laptop, room light, and sewing machine light all broke around the same time and i havent been able to get them fixed which has been slightly inconvenient to say the least.
To conclude, i’m really happy with what i’ve achieved and i’m proud of myself and the work i’ve produced being stuck in my house woth broken lights and limited space. The quality of work i’ve produced has been the best i’ve ever done, my attention to detail and patience with finishing is the best its ever been, and i’ve learnt so much on this project i’m incredibly glad to have done it.

When starting out learning any new skill take notes
In my life. This is definetly advice I wish I had of taken on earlier. I have only started doing it this year, after several years of doing various courses for Premier Pro, Photoshop and many other applications. I found that not long after completeing those courses. Unless I used the knowledge regularly. It was gone pretty fast. When I do courses, or watch a How To video, I now have Onenote, or a peice of paper and pejn handy. It helps solidify the idea & if I forget, rather than having to redo the course, I can look back over my notes and recall quicker. This approch may not be for everyone and yes it can slow the process down, but it is well worth taking the time to make notes. They can be very simple mind you. I don't recommend writting a course trandscript word for work. Just some summeries the major points. I think this point is rather timeless.

Intro to React and Redux
TF is this?
I used the boilerplate project built by Cory House (Twitter: @housecor), SlingShot to build my company's transition into React. This was chosen because of his excellent PluralSight videos, and I felt that the patterns used were generally community accepted and thought out. Any reference to "this project" could be considered standard defined from Cory House, or just my whim.
Background (skip this if you just want to learn some react/redux)
I was working in a silo for two years, building out the front-end for a site that runs on .NET and MVC architecture. There is nothing wrong with server-side rendered pages. But our front-end was thrown together with little thought to re-usable peices. For example, there are at least 5 layout templates for a website that you log into and view a few pages (think accessing your bank account).
Our end-users have really bad internet connections. With a slow server-side rendered website, most used the native apps. It was most apparent when we had an extremely high-usage day, which brought the native mvc site to a crawl, but native apps were fine calling our new APIs. Had the site been fully converted to the React framework built for new features (as opposed to redoing the entire site in high priority), it would have likely persevered through the high traffic.
That's all well and good, 20-20 past vision stuff. But it still points to why I wanted to push for a SPA driven by React and Redux. The whole intention of the site is to act like the native apps, so let's bring it up to speed!
All that said, I decided to leave for several reasons, but I wanted to make sure any of the devs, including all .NET devs, native android, and native iOS devs, would at least have something to refer to besides just the general "here's how he built this so let's use that pattern" learning. I hope it's helpful for them, and I hope this reaches anyone else interested in React and Redux. There are a shit-ton of tutorials out there, I'm hoping I can make a TL;DR version of Cory's awesome 6+ hours of lessons.
Component Structure
Components can be written as a function or by extending the React.Component class. This projects uses the Container/Dumb Component pattern where "smart" components are considered containers, and dumb components (under /components) take props and know how to display them.
Props
Props are the data passed into a component. They can be any javascript value type, which allows for display data or functions that need to be executed within the component. props are the first param passed to a functional component. Access props from a class component by using this.props.
PropTypes
Every component should define its prop's types. This enforces type checking for the linter and testing, as well as will be generated in the npm run gendocs script. You will also see console warnings if an unexpected type is used in development mode.
The standard pattern is to declare the component as a const or class, and before exporting, assign the propTypes object:

When extending the React.Component class, you may see propTypes as a static property in tutorials. This is fine, however the pattern in this project still maintains them outside of the class declaration, mostly for consistency.
If your component can work without requiring access to React's lifecycle methods and manage state, it is better to create it as a function so as to not add the ES6 class overhead. However, do not make that prevent you from using the class structure if needed.
The most typical needs for React's lifecycle access are setting up/managing component state and retrieving data before a render. Below is an example of a component that handles state management. Note that this is referring to the "component state." Meaning this is just pure React at this point, without introducing Redux app state management.
Here's a simple incrementer/decrementer component:

So what is happening here? The constructor is run at the initial load of the component. super(props) is simply passing props to the React.Component abstract class. We want to define our intentional state for this component. In this case, we just want to keep track of what the amount to display is. The binding is a side-effect of ES6 classes. There are several ways to handle dealing with this in a class, specifically with render(), but this is the most resource efficient way, it just adds a few extra lines.
increment() and decrement() are class methods that are simply updating the component state. You cannot mutate this.state directly, which is where this.setState() comes in. It is a React function that accepts an object of what the new state will be, and when called, will trigger a component re-render. So anytime the state is updated, render() is called and the state values will be updated.
render() is the override for React.Component that must return jsx. In this case the component is providing the amount display and the buttons to modify that amount. Note that jsx requires a single opening and closing tag surrounding all others.

This is invalid. If you do not want to introduce a wrapping html element, you can use the `` tag to prevent additional html written to the DOM.

Redux Preview
This section explains how a component can trigger data retrieval and access the Redux store. It may be worth checking out the vocab section of Redux first.
Retrieving data for a component can be done by overriding componentWillMount() and firing off your required actions. Most commonly something like:

This will cause the spinner to display, dispatch the action to call the api to retrieve transactions, then hide the spinner. await is used here because we know GetTransactions is asynchronously calling the API.
Accessing The Redux Store
Redux is built in a way that it can be used without React, so in order for a component to access the store, we use the react-redux package, which provides an HoC (Higher-order Component) function called "connect".
This essentially wraps your component and returns a new component that has store access. It takes up to 4 params, but typically you will only use the first two: mapStateToProps and mapDispatchToProps.
mapStateToProps is a function that is supplied with the state (store) object. You must return and object from this function, providing any props that require data from the state. For example:

A couple things to note in this example. - We are using destructuring to declare isLoading and transactions. If you are unfamiliar, it was introduced in ES6 (https://hacks.mozilla.org/2015/05/es6-in-depth-destructuring/) - In render(), a list of `` tags are built by mapping an array of objects and returning jsx. This is a useful feature as you can build jsx sections piecemeal. - mapStateToProps is declared outside of the component class. This is because it isn't tied to the component itself. - mapStateToProps is creating its own prop, isLoading by computing off of the redux state, where transactions is just plucked directly. This is fine, the point is your component does not have to necessarily follow the redux state structure. - Another note about this, is the concept of selectors. This concept houses how the data is returned from state, but a more advanced topic worth diving into when you're more comfortable. - The second param for connect is an empty object, this is addressed in the next section - TransactionList is wrapped in parenthesis after connect is executed. This is shorthand for:

mapDispatchToProps
This is used to provide dispatch. Dispatch is simply a function that takes an object with an action type and any additional data (must define a type as a string). Reducers are listening for dispatch actions. They are simply a giant switch statement that intercepts the dispatch type and determines if/how to update the redux store. More information on dispatch Usage of this within components can vary, and this project abstracts a lot of it out into defining actions (/actions). The more manual way to set it up in your component is as follows:

As you can see, setting all your action dispatchers up within the component can add extra bloat. To alleviate that, the second param for connect can accept an object of actions. This is the pattern used in the project, so you simply import your action and define it (Note: will explain actions in detail later):

The benefits from doing it this way are better readability, abstraction of function, and easier to unit test your actions.
Redux
Redux is a single source for your entire application state. It's independent of React, can only be modified by dispatching actions (immutable), and allows for time travel because of this. React interacts with the Redux store with react-redux, which provides the ability to utilize the application state in components, as well as take actions to change state.
Redux Terms
Store: The actual data store. This is just a javascript object, so it can hold any values necessary. Redux itself is meant to maintain all app state in this single store, but allows for it to be composable using combineReducers.`
Action: An object to be received by reducers. It must contain a type property with an assigned string. These types are managed in /consants/actionTypes.js. Any additional data can be provided in the action.

Reducer: A function that takes state as the first param and action as the second. State is the current state of the redux store. action is the action object containing type and data.

Dispatch: This function is the glue between actions and reducers. You execute dispatch() when you want to bubble up an action to be intercepted by reducers. It is provided by the Redux store, but accessed via connect (see mapDispatchToProps). This is the only way to trigger a state change.

Thunk: A thunk is a function that is returned by another function. redux-thunk is middleware between actions and reducers.
If the action is a function, it executes it, thus allowing for asynchronous calls before the reducer.

combineReducer(): This function allows for composing with multiple reducers. This project does this in /reducers/index.js. It simply imports all other reducers and composes them in the structure of the desired Redux store. This can be nested, as you can see in /reducers/Support/index.js, which simply exports the support related reducers:

This results in the Redux store shape as:

The idea is that you can write small and specific reducers that only care about their slice of the state. As this is the case, the returned new state from a reducer function, for instance in /reducers/Support/phoneNumbers:

The state param for this function is only the state.support.phoneNumbers slice of the Redux store.
It's best to define what your idea of the initial app state is, so reducers can define their slice of the default state. This project defines that in /reducers/initialState.
So when adding newly nested pieces to the store, be sure to import them through to the main /reducers/index.js module. Also note that when using combineReducers, you are defining the name of that slice of state, so by changing phoneNumbers like so below:

4 HOURS TODAY!!! Got a lot done. I’m back where I was before I decided to completely rebuild my inventory system. You can swap around the little guys gear, and you can loot the dead skeletons. The cloning bug is gone now too.
In the vain of fixing the inventory I also changed how armor works. Before it a unique control object for each armor peice and checked all the things that could be wearing armor to apply its value. Now it just instantly creates, reads the armor value from, and destroys and instance of the armor.
Also fixed the awkward skeleton armor bug.
Apparently, at the time of writing my last bug I had already fixed the looping issue and then forgotten about it! The armor bug was a sloppy leftover from that fix.
So next up I’m finally moving forward and not just redoing stuff! I’ll be adding functionality to allow certain items to stack in the inventory, adding torch sconces with removable torches, reworking the zombies so they can wear armor and make corpses, and also maybe redoing the shield and tweaking the attack function so the skeletons don’t kill each other.
Known Bugs:
-When dual wielding swords, the sword which is not in use will not update it position until attack is over.
-hit boxes are all over the place.
-sword is... buggy as balls. Will be adding some kind of indicator to determine if hits are actually occurring.
-moving objects get stuck easily. It is possible for the skeletons to pin the player in such a way that neither can move or hurt each other.

TWO Days later five days after the birth marcy finally wakes up fullyand they name the child.
Due to marcys inability to have more children and their already existing 2 year old daughter in brooklynn(2) they decide to raise the child male and name him robert jr ‘robin’ tar’ein nash-price.
At two weeks old marcy puts a piece of toma tech in robins right wrist and eye
and after bothe births made six sets of fake birth certificates with the childrens prints and list six different couples as parents and six different birth states {all of the parents are orphans that were dead less then a year after robins birth so no one can contest the paperwork}
In the aftermath of robins birth marcy becomes terrorfied that her past and heritage will hurt her children and goes to extreames to prepare them for the danger shes sure theyll face sooner or later, giving them all that she can, teaching the two every aspect of toma heritage(history/medical/religion/mythology/ect) that she can when she can as soon as they can understand it all while training them to escape and survive at all cost from the day they can walk unasisted and unsupervised raising them more like soldiers then children

“were going for a visit will you grab our bags while I grab ma’i’ia’s and baba’s?”
she nods and hops up heading for the bathroom through the connected door where she grabs the bags from their locker while he goes through the hall and into their parents room to grab theirs.
She drops the bags in their room and goes over to their parents where she find robin packing their mi’i’ias phone/jewelry box{she never leaves the house without it} computor/keys into her go bag. She grabs her babas bag and begins packing the contents of the rooms safe into it(not knowing hes not coming with)(both bags on the bed){not really noticing what shes packing} as well as her granpa nash’s medal box.
The two close the bags and take them over to their room.
There lynn begins to pack their important items into their bag{not knowing how long theyll be gone but knowing that leaving in the middle of the night isnt a good thing}[their jewelryboxes their baby blankets stuffed animals and a few of their favorite books and their journals]
while shes doing this robin had fastened their parents bags together then his job done he notices that he cant hear his ma’i’ia humming any more.
Excited to catch his ma’i’ia doing her :magic: he sneaks out of his and lynns room and into the main hall where he ducks behind the shelves in the hall and peaks through it.
But instead of seeing his ma’i’ia doing magic he sees her fighting a man dressed in all black with yellow eyes.
Robin is scared and quietly rushes back to his room where lynn is fastening all four bags together.
Robin waves to get her attentionand uses one of the signs mi’i’ia had taught them {translation:GET OUT NOW FAST AND QUIET}
her drowziness instantly forgotton at the look in her brothers eyes lynn grabbs the teid together bags and robins hand and all but drags him to the window.
She climb out and while robin follows she pulls the bags onto her shoulder before the two quickly scamper up the ladder in a nervous silence and clamber into the storage unit{bobbys spot to medicate} where they raceout of the room and into the hallway out side.
Lynn runs ahead to pull the alarm knowing that robin will follow her.
On his way out robin knocks the space heater and bobbys vodka over in his rush but is moveing to quickly to notice as he flees into the hall the alam covering the sound.
The two grab hands again, hide in the crowd and race down the stairs two at a time.
At the bottom of the stairs the two split from the crowd, run through the lobby and exit out the side door and quickly duck into the locker.
Inside the locker lynn turns on the security screens on just in time to see the man drop their ma’i’ia’s body to the floor of their kitchen
the two are to shocked to do anything but watch as the man goes through the apartment trashing first their parents and then their own rooms.
Just as the man finnishes with their room they watch as the ceiling comes down in flame.
The fire spreads quickly and the man flees the apartment and leaves the sight of the cameras.
In stunned silence they wathc as first their apartment and then their floor are consumed by flame the cameras going down one by one as they melt.
Then they are further shocked when they see their baba race into the building just before the lobby camera goes down damaged by falling debrie.
Lynn begins to cry as she realizes that both of her parents are dead while robin turns to packing the locker up trying to not think about whats happened.
First he packs all of the storage lockers contents into their babas half empty bag:

Then robin takes lynn by the hand{lynn holding three of the bags atatched to each other and robin the other two tied together} and drags her out of the locker and into the alley between the bakery and daycare across the street from the apartment building so that they can see whats happening with the cameras down.
Lynn goes along with it but has no hope of seeing their baba walk out of the building as the two watch the crowds through tears.
Robin is the first to see the man in black as he stumbles out of the building and begins going up to people waving a picture frame around.
Robin recognises the frame of a picture of lynn and their mi’i’ia, and he is struckwith terror as he realizes that the man is after lynn and rufusing to loose anyone else robin grabs lynn by the hand and takes off running forceing her to catch up{lynn still has three bags and robin two}
the two run for ten minutes straight until they reach a late night buss stop

from 12:22pm 7/15/1999 to 12:30pm 8/04/1999 the two make their way to new york via buses telling any who ask their going to their parents for a custody switch
on 8/04/1999 at 12:41pm the two dissembark in oooooo,newyork and wind up in a little field surrounded by trees in a park next to the bus stop.
Lynn takes their remaining mony and after empting their babas bag goes to buy the two food bag in hand, whilrobin repacks the bags.
He empties the other four bags onto the pile left by lynn.

lynn returns with theirs babas bag full of long term food and a few bags of fast food in hand at 7:00 am (she spent her time shopping at a 24/7 store getting as much as she could for the least amount of money then she picked up food from mcdonalds.)
the two eat quickly then lynn empties the locker bag and fills it with their parents day clothes and takes them and sells them while robin reorganizes the food in their babas bag.(7:30 am)
she returns at around 10:30 am with an empty bag and 89 dollors and repacks the hardrives and the medal box into their babas empty bag.
The two then take turns sleeping in shifts until 12:00 pm at which point they begin making their way deeper into the city.
The two liv on the streets completely on their own surviving off pick pocketing and using the facilities of a fire station that they find unlocked when the trucks are on call until 8/19/1999 when lynn runs into owen strickland who came in on his day off with his son tyler kennedy strickland{7}.
Owen simply makes another plate and leaves it for her as well as a tupperware container full of food for her {not wanting to scare her off and wanting her to keep coming back thinking shes a homeless 17ish year old and wanting her to have somewhere safe to crash and food to eat[he knew someone had been using the stove and stocked food while the crews slept and now he knows who]}
lynn and owen proceed to repeat this every day that owen is on shift and after a few weeks the two start talking to each other.{8/19/1999 to 1/02/2000}[lynn 11 to 12 robin 9 to 10]
When owen realizes shes younger then she looks he offers to get in contact with her parents but she tells him that their dead and that she has no other family(he notes that she stuters over saying the later bit and assumes she has a younger sibling somewhere hidden and dosent trust him with them yet which also explains why their on the streets {cps might seperate them} so he starts cooking double the food and sending her off with lots of packed food.
Then he talks to his wife and asks if they can take them in{their already certified as foster parents due to the process they used to adopt her sisters son tyler} and she agrees.
The next day she and owen go in on his day off after the crews head out and the two discuss it with lynn.
Lynn clearly wants to but is hesitating until :oswife: hands her a contract that states that the stricklands will do everything in their power to keep her and her sibling(s) together all it needs is her and their names filled in and signitures in front of witnesses{someone from one of the other crews}.
Lynn agrees and runs off.
She comes back less then five minutes later with two birth certificates {listing lynn as lynda nomi price and her little brother robin alexi price 12 and 10} and a boy{robin} and five duffel bags.
While lynn trusts them robin is more suspicious and shy.

The room has a bunkbed and a foldout bed for when owens sisters kids spend the night.
He sets robin up on the bottom buck and gives lynn the pullout{knowing that the girl will feel guilty putting robin on the couch and ty already has the top bunk} he notices that the adults arnt let near the kids bags but they dont push.
tyler gets home and is a bit miffed at sudden new siblings but when he wakes from a nightmare that night things change.
Tyler wakes crying as robin shakes him out of a nightmare of his of owen dieing in a fire and robin pulls him into a tight hug until he calms and falls asleep on his shoulder.
Robin stays up the whole night petting tys hair and keeping the nightmares away.
The next day :oswife: takes the two shopping to get batheing suits so that they can join tyler in his swimming clases. While owen redos the room.
He takes out the pullout and puts in a second bunk bed that lynn will later take the top bunk of on a day to day basis {when owens neices are over lynn moves into robins, robin will sleep with tommy and leave the other bunk for them two girls.

lynn and robin end up being dragged from the home by yyyys brother{a cop} screaming for their mi’ada papa and tyler/ty the whole time.
Yyyyy informs :oswife: that she must kick owen out that night untill the investigation ends or she’ll take tyler as well with barely hidden glee.
Owen packs his bags and moves ou under yyyys watch
she then leaves with the three locked bags
yyyy dosent know about robins hermaphrodite status as he wears a special bandage like item over his feminine bits that hides it all well {marcy got it for him to make raiseing him as a boy abit easier
yyyyyyy drags a distraught robin to even eugine buckleys home where she all but flings him into the nursery and locks the door behind him.
While she takes the bags to eugine robin notices that theres a new born baby in the room with him.
With nothing else to do he picks the now crying baby up and begins to soothe him noticeing the bruises all over him and the leg brace and being extra carefull with the little one and glances around the room. He finds a vial of medicine with the name matthew eugine buckley on it and assumes that its the babys name. The vials paper work is next to it. He reads through it quickley and realizes that its and anti seizure med and that the baby needs it three times a day.
He checks the boy finds no needle marks and is concerned. He KNOWS the resaults of not taking such a medication but isnt sure that its the babies medication so he cant do anything.
Meanwhile yyy has dropped the bags with eugine and left to check lynn into the hospital.
Eugine spends hours trying to get them open before giving up and locking them in a safe in the basement. Then he leaves to pick maddalind up from one of his friends [where he sent her to deal with her mother leaving].
He returns hours later nd in that time matthew had had a seizure and robin had been forced to resuscitate him after he stopped breathing{thankfull for owens lessens} and had given the baby a dose following the instructions on the paperwork.
Eugine sends maddie to handle settleing robin in, maddie finds the door shut but asumes its an accident and unlocks it. She find robin paceing the room with mattie{2 weeks} with a finger on his pulse.
She asks what happened [shes been away two weeks] and robin explains whats happened since he got there.
Maddie checks the baby over {she knew about maddie but hadent met him face to face} and aftbeing assured that the child will be okay she gos to her father and asks him when mattie got the new meds
eugine explains that he had never seen him have a seizure so he hadnt given him the meds and apologizesfor worrying her.
Maddie returns and packs both kids into her care and takes them to the hospital so that matthew can be checked over.
Hes admited and released two days later after his meds are evened out
maddie takes mattie and robin home that day to find yyyyy and eugine at the kitchen table changing robin and lynns names legally speaking{12/15/2004} robin and lynn become evan eugine buckley and nionna ann buckley “so that they will fit in better with maddie and mattie”
yyyyy leaves and updates lynn/nionna on the name change.
lynn/nionna { } refuses to answear to the new name and after trying to escape she is sedated and spends the rest of her pregnancy heavily drugged due to her “inapropriate” “agressive” and “dleusional” behavior {by 12/15/2004 shes six mths pregnant}
on 12/23/2004 lynn/nionna gos into labour way to early and gives birth to a stillborn daughter.
Yyyyyyy wont let her see the baby or even know the gender and drops her at the buckly home three hours later still druged and out of it.
The misscariage is listed as a resault of the mothers illicit drug use
in reality yyyyyyyyy had given the baby to aaaaaaa and sent a sample of the girls dna in to ‘catch owen’ so she can take tyler
however the dna clears owen
on hearing this via phone call while driving crashes into another carefullyyyyyy and aaaa die instantly but lynns daughter “alexi” was lleft unscathed.
Alexi winds up with aaaaa’s daughter hhhh whos 22 as she is listed as aaaaa’s biological childrenalexi is raised well from then on.{same day}{12/23/2004}
on 1/12/2005 cps sends another worker out to the buckly house.
eugine quickley bribes the man to sign off on him keeping both children and he is awarded full custody.
On 1/14/2005 alexi’s dna clears owen.
While this means owen can go back home with his wife and son he and :oswife:cant get robin or lynn back as they were oficaily adopted and cps wont give them any information about the children or who has them only that they are settled in and that they cant be moved again noteing that the stricklands were still negligent in their care of lynn.
Owen is told by the agent {who is involved with hhhh} that lynns daughter alexi is safe but wont let him see her or even send her letters {owen gets suspicius that something bad has happened to HIS kids.
Tyler had been devestated by the loss of his siblings and cant stand to hear his name {tyler or ty} and has been going by tk since a few days after they were taken.
Owen focuses on raiseing tk and finding HIS kids {keeping the locker paid up just in case though he never looks into the bags} while :oswife: leaves tk withhis father and focusses on her job to deal with her greif.
Meanwhile 1/15/2005 is the last visit that cps makes to the buckleys due to another bribe by eugene {his perfect maddie needs siblings}.
Shortly after ariveing lynn/nionna{14} dissapears.
Eugine claims she ran away for drugs but in reality hes locked her away in to basement
maddie believes eugines story about the basement being caved in and filled with cement to keep the house from following suit.
Things go realitivly alright for the next four months:
-----eugine is gruff and cold towards evan{12} and matthew{>1} but trys to be pleasant to maddalind fffff{17} {his golden child} though he does loose his temper with her sometimes
-----any time he looses his temper he take evan “fishing” {drags him to the little shed on the lake in fffffthe back of the property and beats him bloody from his shoulders to his hips where his clothes fffffwill hide them}
-----evan dosent tell and does his best to hide it as eugine threatens mathew while he beats him with fffffthe switch{and cause evan dosent want to cost maddie and mathew another parent knowing how fffffit feels} [he thinks he can handle it and escape with mattie and track his sister down.]
This continues until 5/12/2005 when maddalind goes to visit her mother ffff shannon and uncle xxx{who married her mother a week prior}.
Its a four month trade off.
In her absence eugine goes from cold distant and a bit harsh to a creul callous monster and the house[not a home] turns into hell
the beatings become a daily occurrenc
on 9/13/2005 eugine fractures evans {l/r}ight kneecap and left him on the kitchen floor.
Matthew starts crying
eugine leaves to go out with his friends
evan drags himself to matties room and forces himself upright using his good leg and the wall picks him up and slides back down focussing on the baby to block out the pain{like all toma/nontoma boys he has a weird issue with pain only able to feel pain when the injury damages a bone}.
This is the scene maddie returns home to evan passed out with mattie on his chest his knee swollen and purple.
She drives them to the er and calls eugine
eugine arrives and claims that evan had fallen but that he didnt think it was that bad.{he tells evan that he knew where lynn/nionna is but that if he didnt behave hed kill her.}
After three days evan is sent home.
At which point eugine cuts back on the hits and bruiseing to sheild maddalind from the trueth {in his mind hes training the boy to be the perfect brother} and the most she ever sees is eugine smack evan for being disrespectful{not looking up when he talks/mumbleing/backtalking}.
Maddie thinks nothing of evans shyness and lack of acting out as shes never seen him be any different.
In reality while eugine had cut down on the overt violence his new favorite method for taining up evan is horrific but evans act is flawles as he works best under pressure and the threats to mattie and lynn/nionna and the precived risk to maddies happiness put him basically in mission mode.
Eugines abuse had turned sexual but since the only time he went full out he did so in the dark of evans room{so he couldnt anticipate what was coming} he never notices the patch or what hides behind it, something evan is gratefull for.
The first time he takes a sample from evan and puts it in a proper freezer in his truck {heworks at a fertility clinic} {so that he can make anotther pet} {evan dosent register what he was doing as he was out of it at the time.}
By evans 13th birthday on 10/31/2005 he is matthews{1} full time carer and administrates all his meds as maddie 18 is often out looking at schools.
This continues for the next three years.

maddie{21} visits for evans 16the birthday bringing her boyfreind doug with her.
That night eugine ups the abuse and makes matthew{almost 4} watch.
The next day evan pulls maddie to the side and asks that she not bring up his birthday ever again.
Shes confused but gos with it.
Then she heads back to collage.
On 12/14/2008 eugine finds out that evan{16} had been ‘spoiling’ matthew{4} when he catches the boy giving him a sponge bath [hes been giving him sponge baths as the boy is deathly afraid of bodies of water {though hes at least desenseitized him to glasses of it} and his panic attacks will trigger his seizures even when hes properly medicated and his seizures still cause arithmyias]{mattie has has 12 ‘heart attacks by age four}] and flips out.
He stalks over and decks even hard knocking him out.
Then he drahs the unconcius sixteen year old and the shakeing terrorfied four year outside down to the lakes peir.
He drops mat on the ground and hes to petrifeid to run as eugine teis evan to the peir
then he waits for evan to wait.
Once he comes to eugine lifts mat off the deck and THROW him into the lake.
Evan PLEADS and BEGS even breaking his wrist trying to get to mattie.
Just as mattie passes out eugine knocks evan out again.
He drags mattie to shore and resusitates him quickly not wanting to loose a toy and shove the catatonic boy into a box in the back of his truck.
Then he drags evan back inside this time he dosent hit the lights before starting in on evan.
As a resault he finds the patch and removes it.
On seeing what it hides he invites three of his friends over to have a turn.
This gos on for six hours evan going in and out of conciusness the whole time.
After his friends leave eugine leaves for texas where fff xxx shannon and maddie are leaving evan broken and bleeding and lynn/nionna tied up in the basement.
Evan wakes the next day barely able to move between the pain and the greif but forces himself up right to get to lynn/nionna but he cant get into the basement as its locked.
He goes back up and showers to clear his head, then he dresses and searches the house.
He nearly gives up before he finds the keys on the kitchen floor {they must have fell out as eugine left}, and invigorated by something like hopeevan grabs the keys and races as fast as he can back down to the basement where he unlocks the door.
He finds her chained and quickly unlocks her and carefully guides her upstairs and lays her on maddies bed.
That done he goes to maddies closet and ueses her pratice bandages to imobilize his wrist. Then he goes back to the basement, unlocks the safe and grabs the bags{hes shocked to find that lynns birthstone necklace is in one of the bags side pockets sans flashdrive but ignores it}.
Then he finds that when he packed away his babas jacket he must have lost the name tag as its gone but the bag and lock are both intact. He packs the bags into fff’s abandoned car and then he goes through the house collecting everything related to him lynn maddie and matthew {so that eugene cant toss them}and anything worth anything as a way to pay for their escape as well as anything useful to them. Then he packs lynn into the passenger seat and climbs into the drivers side and takes off not sure where hes going just unable to stop running once he starts {thankful for :oswifes: driving lessons}
together lynn and robin wind up back in newyork.{12/17/2008}
they check the stricklan house first but find it empty, then they check the station only to find it borded up.
{owens new crew is a few blocks over and he tyler and the previuos crews widows and children are on vacation.
As a last resort on {12/18/2008} they check the locker and are shocked to find that their keys still workand thet their bags are still there.
They collect the bags and robin puts on his necklace.
Then nionna has an idea she runs off to a near by store and uses the money robin took from the buckley house to buy a burner phone and puts the piece of paperwork with the phones number on it in the locker just in case the stricklands still want them.
Then with the bags contents she and robin set up fake ids for themselves
lynn uses one of the fake birth certificates and fills out the backstory of wiona ari russo{18}[20]with her ma’i’ia’s computor {a trans boy[william ‘billy’ ari russo] who was able to transition socially as a child who grew up in an orphanage}[BILLY RUSSO PLOT LINE]
while robin becomes evan ‘buck’ tar’ein price buckley in much the same way [keeps most of his ‘adoptive’ name since eugene wont be looking for evan buckley.
Then he uses the fact that even maddie dosent know how old he is and the fact that at 16 he looks 20 ish to list him self as 23 {since an age change will also make it easier to hide} [going by buck for his own comfort]
[maddie dosent know his age as she was never told it and buck already tested out of highschool when he cam to the buckleys though eugine wouldnt let him go to collage].
12/18/2008 billy{18}[20] signs up for the marines and buck{16}[23] for the seals both their fake histories backing it.

buck{18}[20] gets through all of his training right up till the end when he fails a test {disobeying orders under the impression that one of his team mates was left behind and hauling off shoving his co into the mud and takeing off to get the teammate alone. {5/17/2009}
hes told he isnt what they want for the job.
He returns to the usa and winds up in texas{5/20/2009}
on 5/19/2009 hes just heading for a park to run his energy off when hes nearly takeld by a shakeing five year old MATTHEW.
Buck drops to his knees and pulls him in close gently afraid hell dissapear.
A second later before he can say anything he hears a woman screaming “get away from my son”
he shoots up and steps in front of matthew as the woman comes close but before he can say anything mattie signs to her ‘thats MY even’
the woman stops cold and stares at him clearly 5ish6ish moths pregnant.
she comes close and buck expects her to slap him but instead she flings herslef at him and hugs him tight.
She introduces herself as shannon breeanna jjjjjjjj and invites him to her home.
Shanons inlaws are steying with her at the base house shes in but are out for errends at the time.
Shannon and buck talk for hours and when shannon mentions that shes worried that eugine will come for mattie buck quickley inacts a plan.
He pulls out his ma’i’ia’s computor and changes the boys legal name and history {he becomes matthew tarein price} a boy who is legally speaking the adoptive child of shannon and buck after eugine surrenderd his rights {fakeing the paperwork}.
While shannon adores mattie the boy clings to buck and is more active with him then he had ever been with her.
As a resault the two agree that buck will have primary custody of the boy.
They trade numbers and agree to keep in constant contact.
Then buck takes mattie to his apartment nearby.
Shannon tells the diazs that mattie went to his older brother whos could care for him better {financially and emotionally so that she can focus on her comeing baby and both children will be better for it}.
Ramon and helenna are a bit pissed but dont speak their oopinions{she threw a child away in their eyes leading to outward hostillity and blatent distencing}.
Peppa who was visiting better understands it when she hands her a recording of buck and evan{evans face blurred out}.
Buck and mattie stay in texas for a year.
Then on 7/19/2010 things change.
Mattie whos only six had to be put into special classes with tutors when the tests buck gets for him put him in highschool knowledge wise.{the tutors are hired as they can keep up with mattie and challenge him apropriatly.
Buck moves to a house nearer to shannon and keeps close contact with her.
While keeping up with billy
On 3/22/2011 billy stops talking to him
On 4/09/2011 their declared kia bodies unrecoverd and Steve calls buck.
Buck checks his ma’i’ia’s laptop and tells steve that billy at least is still alive as his monitor is still giving feed back on his status.
Buck explains that he can come in and find him easily with his own monitors tracker.
Steve reluctently agrees after reading bucks file.
Buck drops mattie with shannon and she wishes him luck.6/10/2011
He meets with steve, then he and steves team track billy down
it takes only five days
on 4/18/2011 the team and buck return with billy {they didnt find /////}
suddenly steve figures out the real reason buck went with his dismissial and didnt fight for the job, as buck is completely shut down.
Steve passes him off to nathen and focusses on biily
nathen brings buck out of his head by sparring with him and the two wind up in bed together.
Bucks surprised at how comforatable he is with nathen
steve makes buck a reacurring piece of the team on the low
shannon is more then happy to have mattie in the house when bucks off ‘gijoing’.
By 6/22/2011 buck is in to deep and cant see his life without nathen
nathen is much the same even giving evan a ring even though they cant marrying
{its quick but realitivly healthy}
however a mission on 12/13/2011 changes that
this mission was overseen by rawlins as steve is gone to handle his six year old daughters health issues the mission gos horribly.
Buck is there
everyone knew the mission was a trap but rawlins wouldnt listen

on 1/03/2011 buck finds out hes pregnant with nates child{7mths} [hed been carrying stealth and put his recent medical issues down to the shrapnel.
He goes to nates memorial on 1/29/2011 at 3 am {his wills wishes}{he was cremated right after death} and meets his adoped brother judd ryder and his wife grace ryder.
They invite him to breakfest {nate talked about him ALL THE TIME}
while at breakfest buck starts washing dishes with grace while judd goes to show mattie7 how the grill works
buck gos into labor but thinks its braxten hicks since it dosent hurt the way he was told it would
but grace notices when his water breaks
she leaves a note for judd and mattie and takes nate’s boy to one of the clinics she knows wont make a fuss about bucks gender.
Nadia ________ price ryder is born 9 hours later at midnight 1/29/2011{shes a femme herm}
when the nurse is rude about buck not having a middle name for nadia and her father not being there grace gos cold and rude and gets the nurse kicked from the room and buck adds grace to the birth certificate quickly {hiding it so he can tell her later on her bday when he asks her to be godmom {nate always wanted her as his future kids godmom}
but then buck gets the call
buck had put in aplications to fire departments everywhere when he was booted from the marines
and he just got a job with the 118 in la
he mentions this to grace and she offers to watch the children till hes ready to move them {hes uneasy but allows it because nathen trusted her}
before hitting la he tracks down maddalind who moved to oregan for work and doug and visits her job at the hospital.
The two talk but when he tells her he found mattie alive she freaks out calls him delusional and runs inside for help.
Buck leaves upset
he winds up at a bar and ends up druck and banging a random chick.
He quickly gets unhealthily attached to sex and trys to ignore it
he heads to cali and gets a decent apartment for him and the kids renovating it quickly to meet matties needs
then he picks them up and brings them to the apartment
he quickly enrolls mattie into online college
he meets with {eddies teacher]
he explains his situationto her{hes a single father who recently lost his partner}
she gets him clearence to sendd mattie and nadia to the school {they sit in a reading nook behind her desk and mattie works on his school work under her guidence} on a trial run
shes shocked that her normally rowdy class becomes 99% calm and well behaved in the presence of a baby who needs them quiet
it gos far better then expected and mattie acts as an asisstant when his work is done {he takes hyperactive kids to the side and helps them burn it off with challenges
then he drops the twokids wit h a sitter shannon used for her son and recommended to him when he called her
then he stops by the station and meets with the crew hes asigned to winding up having dinner{its the last day of their seven so he wont start for a week}
he goes home and tucks the kids in
he then pays the girl to watch them for another hour and gos out to get laid to try to get the thought sex out of his head
it doesnt work
he returns home sends the sitter home and showers scouring his skin to try to feel right again not understanding why it didnt feel like it did with nathen {he thought his earleir self disgust was due to his and the girls drunken states}.
He spends the next week adjusting the kids to the new shedule
tesh picks them up at 6
theier at the school from six thirty to four thirty
teach drops them with the sitter at 5
the sitter is working on her degree online inbetween cooking and watching the kids {mat even helps her with papers with random bits of knowledge that hes gained from his addiction to books}
she watches them till six when bucks off and 9 when hes on duty.
She watches them all day sunday while she has saterdays off{she dosent like being alone on sundays}
buck takes the kids to the liebarry on saterdays
Through the week buck continues to screw any one who will take him{hes safe about it but is desperatly chaseing what he had with nate}
the first saterday {two days till his first day} he takes the kids to the libarry
he settles them together in a reading cricle with other kids and settles in in the back.
Half way through the kids movies he sees a kid out of the corner of his eye.
As he watches the kid a boy that looks 14 at most dissapears up the roof accses stairs
following the feeling in his gut he turns to the mom beside him and tells her to call 911 as he just saw a kid go up to the roof and as she pulls out her phone he races after the kid knowing mattie and nadia are safe where they are {they have to be checked in and out}
he finds the kid on the roofs edge
they talk the kid is 17 severly starved and abused and trans{mtf}
buck ends up dragging her badily back when she slips and nearly falls
the two lay on the roof the kid shakeing hard
buck asks if shes looked into names yet
she says she cant find one that fits
buck offers up baudicca and the girl clings to it and the story he tells her about the name as he gets her up and shuffles her downstairs and hands her off to the first decent cop he sees
he picks the kids up checks them out and heads home after making his statement.
That night is the first time since nates death he felt alive {he loves nadia her existence dosent fill the hole in his lungs}
he continuse to chase the feeling in sex but it dosent come back.
That monday he starts his first day at the 118
he notices for the first time that bobby looks familier but cant place him
buck dosnt tell the 118 about his kids not trusting the m fully yet.

buck runs into judds crew and the two catch up on things{he ends up cooking them multiple meals and sends them home with a ton of it estatic to cook for someone again
judds crew leave in the morning and buck gos into work then the wedding collapses bobby’s story comes out
abby and buck go on a real date

shannon gets a job with the teacher as a classroom asistent and taxis the kids to and frome the school becoming fast friends with the teacher
two months after she told eddie she wasnt coming back[something buck dosent like but does understand] eddie moves to cali
