Can you make Toby headcanons
Tumblr media
I can’t believe I haven’t already done this?? He’s literally all I think about lately. Also sorry for the lack of posts life is busy. Anyway! (Some of this will be canon)
“Ticci” Toby Head Canons
Toby was in and out of the hospital all his life
CIPA will do that for you
He constantly had to lie about the bruises he got from his dad while he was in the hospital
He didn’t want to be separated from his sister in foster care
Toby got bullied and outcasted at school
But he also was a bully kinda
The violence he was experiencing at home made him violent at school
He would beat people who teased him bloody
He’s impulsive and cynical but also empathic
He would use his body as a shield against his father to protect his sister and mother
Purposely behaving bad so he would get it the worst, sparing his sister and mother
Slenderman was trying to get both Lyra and Toby to become proxies and Lyra had been experiencing the slender sickness and seeing Slenderman
So she purposely crashed the car so her and Toby would both die, but he was none the wiser
Only Lyra died and Toby has survivors guilt
Not only because he’s alive but because Lyra was a better person in his eyes
She took care of him, she was sweet, she was gentle
Toby was rough, standoff ish, and rude
Toby thinks he deserved to die, not her
Wishes he died instead of her
Slenderman only targeted Toby after that
The hallucinations getting stronger and worse
Him seeing his dead sister
Constantly feeling sick
Toby looked at all his neighbors with jealousy
Why did they get the perfect suburban life?
Why was he given a life of suffering?
Slenderman was breaking him down day after day
On top of all that the abuse didn’t stop
Slenderman was able to take his mind over easily with all that Toby was going through
Toby’s grief, anger, sadness, pain and suffering making him unable to fight off Slendermans influence
The night he killed his father he was under Slendermans control completely
Only snapping out of his trance for a few seconds before being taken over again
He didn’t really want to kill his father but his body wasn’t his
Luckily he was able to snap out of the trance before he hurt his mom
But he still burned the neighborhood down, ready to accept death
Then Slenderman took him in
When he was 19 he acted a bit like the teen he never got to be
Not super upbeat but he was more playful and free
Masky and Hoodie do care about him, just in a rough love kind of way because they didn’t want to see him die
Also he was so young, they know what it’s like to loose your life and mind to Slenderman at a fairly young age
So they trained him hard and kept reminding him that he’s disposable so be careful and not so reckless with his body
Toby’s not only good with hatchets but knives as well
Also good at hand to hand combat and dodging
Has infinite stamina and is really strong and fast
Dated Clockwork from ages 19-24
He died at 25 but was resurrected by Slenderman and became possessed fully (which is another reason why he’s so sickly pale)
Slenderman attempted to make him kill Clockwork, but luckily some of Toby was still in there and he was able to hold back from killing her
She was able to fight him off easily after that but couldn’t bring herself to kill him
But she doesn’t want to see him ever again
The one man she trusted tried to kill her and it was too much for her to handle
Toby was heartbroken for months and killed a lot of people, letting himself become a puppet for Slenderman completely
Toby came to the realization that his body was never his to own
His body belonged to the doctors when he was a kid to experiment on, the shield to protect his family, a puppet for Slenderman to use, even his Tourette’s controlled him sometimes
Toby is bi but leans towards women because women were kind to him all his life
Total horndog
He can be manipulative but honestly it’s not on purpose he’s just scared to loose people
“You shouldn’t leave. You’re all I have. My family is gone. Please. You’re the only thing I love.”
Very clingy with people he cares about
Especially because he knows he’s a lot to handle
His emotions can change very quickly
Since his mind has gotten used to Slendermans influence, his memories come back in full force
He vividly remembers everything that happened to him and will sometimes have breakdowns
The memories come at random times too
He’s full of himself and not insecure at all
Blunt, rude, will say what he wants whenever he wants with no filter but is nice to people he likes
Constantly has bloody and bruised knuckles
Smells like the woods/ outdoors and campfires
Made a promise to his sister when they were young to never be like his dad. So he’ll never hit a woman he loves
Belive she’s not meant to be loved. Everyone who’s loved him has either died or left one way or another
Wears neutral colors to blend in with the forest
Touched starved, due to not getting much gentle touch and affection in his life
Wants a normal life so bad but knows that will never happen
Wants to have kids. He wants to be the man his father never was
Hides his face gash with bandages and gauze when he goes out in public
He’s handsome and he knows it. He uses that charm to lure in/ manipulate his victims
Dark brown eyes and hair and pale pink lips
29 years old
Started dating Nina at 27
Toby is 6’0 flat
Very lanky but his back and arms are toned because of constant axe throwing and swinging
Toby is much more mature now that he’s 29 but can still joke around and stuff
Has scars all over his body not only from his father, but fighting since he was 17
He’s so full of himself and cocky especially when he’s manic
He’s an extremely jealous person and can be very possessive especially over the person he’s dating
He’s just scared to loose anyone
Hes violent as hell when it comes to killing
Very very messy because he’s impulsive and reckless and doesn’t care about getting hurt because he doesn’t feel it
Sometimes will target abusive men and will beat them to death with his fists while looking them in the eyes, smiling
Just because he was manipulated into killing at first doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy it now
Because he really enjoys it
Especially when he’s angry or emotional
Still needs constant check ups and has to check for injuries on his body because he can’t feel them
Eats people on occasion. Since he chewed on his hands a lot he likes the taste of flesh
Likes fucking with his victims before he kills them sometimes. He learned that from Masky.
Has nightmares but doesn’t tell anyone about them
Doesn’t drink alcohol often because he really doesn’t wanna be like his dad
Midwestern emo
Looks like his mom. It makes him sad. He misses her.
When he’s by himself he wears grandpa sweaters and loose jeans
Nina is the only other person who can wear his clothes
Anyone else? No way.
Is close with EJ because of the constant medical checkups
Close with Jane too since Nina became friends with her
Actually can cook pretty well since he had to survive on his own a lot
His hair is mid neck and curly because he doesn’t bother to cut it
His beard is prickly and it started growing at 23
Has a bunch of piercings because he can’t feel pain (eyebrows, snakebites, tounge, septum, a bunch of ear ones) he also did it to match with Nina
His favorite food is ramen
His ADHD can make him upbeat and happy sometimes but it doesn’t last long
He likes to sit in the woods by himself sometimes and just enjoy his own company
He has quite the reputation working for Slenderman and all
Masky, Hoodie and Toby are called the triple threat
Hoodie handles ranged combat like guns. Masky is a hard hitting melee fighter, using crowbars, bats etc. Toby can do both by throwing hatches and using them in hand to hand combat. But he can also use his fists.
That’s all I got 4 now I’ll make a part 2 when I can remember more. Also this isn’t proof read sorry :3

Gardener/Botanist Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
P x (gn) reader
A/N: Completely self indulgent. I love plants, flowers, mushrooms— any sort of flora mystical or otherwise. I think, considering how much was delegated to the puppets the need for gardeners would be less and less. That aside, people are stubborn when it comes to art and caring for such plants is, in my opinion, nothing short of art.
Warnings: Game spoilers just all around, P and Gemini are a little stupid in this one (I am very fond of them), Lots of bouncing around concepts, tell me if I need to add more
The art of gardening was dying amongst the people of Krat, despite its rich ecosystem and peculiar plants, as it had been delegated instead to the Puppets of the city
When the puppet frenzy set in, almost all of the knowledge gained from Krat’s flora died with its people and with its puppets
Except you had survived, taken in by Antonia in the hotel, and offered her your services as thanks for the safety and security the Hotel provided
You were close with Antonia, saw her almost as a peculiar aunt. In turn she was fond of you and loved to share any of Krat’s secrets during the few times she could muster the strength to visit the gardens or you took a break and stepped inside.
When P first came by and stopped at the inner gardens, you gave him a once over before bluntly telling him not to mess about the bushes. You weren’t otherwise perturbed by his presence.
One of the few things Antonia seemed to hesitate speaking about was Gepetto, and so you had your reservations about a puppet made by him. He seemed… nice, though. Polite. Definitely very sweet.
He had come to check out the puppet dummies Eugenié was talking about, and was intrigued by you.
You kept him coming back to the garden, but most times he’d make an excuse about wanting to try out a new weapon of sorts. Not that he needed to make one— as long as he didn’t out right hurt the plants you didn’t mind.
Honestly avoids touching the plants incase some complication arises and they die or something. Doesn’t want to disappoint you, the silly guy.
Every subsequent visit comes with his awkward (albeit endearing) attempt to get to know you, and what starts off as a tentative friendship blooms into mutual pining.
P is a quiet visitor when he’s in the gardens, content to ask a question and hear you ramble on for however long you want to.
That doesn’t mean he won’t indulge your questions.
He’ll spend just as long recounting his adventures in Krat if you ask for it, sheepish and sweet as he censors the more… unsavoury moments of his journey.
In game, your character gives a bit of exposition to the flora of Krat. You tell him the certain conditions some plants thrive in, talk about the weather conditions in relation to that, etc. but you also talk about the meanings of each one. It’s from you he learns to communicate through flora.
More than that though, when you mention something specific of certain flora, it becomes a little sidequest for him. He’ll take back a little piece of it to show you and you start trading him items every time he does.
Not wanting it to be a one-sided thing, you give him pressed flower charms, amulets, floral accessories, and even some shiny things you’d picked up like quartz.
The greatest reward is maybe like a little gardener costume. To match with you, you know.
And listen, whatever you give P, he treasures. If you gave him a spare gardening uniform he’d wear that the whole way throughout Krat he’m so silly.
There’s a lot of clumsy and endearing gestures from his end.
One time he accidentally misunderstands you and makes a bouquet asking for your hand in marriage and you about have a heart attack.
You explain both the message and meaning of the bouquet to him, and while he isn’t fussed or embarrassed at his mistake he makes note of it
As he progressively becomes more human, his expressions more lively and his voice more open, your relationship develops further.
His own interest in flora flourishes. He starts trying to record the plants he comes across somehow— either by learning how to draw or asking Venigni to make some sort of camera.
He often thinks of you when he finds a peculiar plant, wondering if it would be ok to take it to you. If he had the means to just take record of it instead he’d show that to you
Doesn’t mean he doesn’t get you flowers still though. He’ll pick out flowers while weighing in his mind if it’d disrupt the ecosystem too much, and once he has them he does his best to arrange them in a pretty manner.
Gemini actually helps him here, giving him ideas for things like the wrapping, telling him to do things like use newspapers or something of the like to bundle them up
At some point the two idiots genuinely consider breaking into an arts and crafts shop because Gemini thinks it might be a good idea, and P just doesn’t know enough to argue that it isn’t
“I mean, the shop is closed down right? Nobody would mind if we just stole a ribbon… or two! Nobody’s using them anyways!” — Gemini
When he regains Carlo’s memories, he feels a little embarrassed about that and refuses to ever mention it again. Gemini makes fun of both of them somehow without being ashamed
When even Gemini fails at figuring out how to decorate flowers, P goes to the other Hotel inhabitants
Sophia’s got such a lovely eye for them, and knows how to arrange a bouquet beautifully and loves to help, and Antonia finds the whole thing adorable and loves to tease P lightly but offers genuinely good advice
Polendina is the perfect butler of course, so he knows his bouquets and is happy to help with them, and while he’s seen metal more than he’s seen flowers at the factory, Pulcinella is just as good
God forbid he asks Eugenié or Venigni though. They might be great at what they do but they’ll put together the most foul colour arrangements known to man.
Eugenié finds out about one (1) poisonous plant and decides it’s a great idea to make a whole bouquet of them. Venigni just picks out the flowers he likes the most, or the ones that match with his outfit, without… really knowing how to match it to his outfit.
I don’t even want to bring up Geppetto. Man would probably sit P down and spend hours agonizing over the arrangement of the petals and pollen like the little control freak he is.
But it gives P a nice break from Krat’s troubles, and your joy at the bouquet makes it worth it every single time
By the end of it, the flowers spill into the hotel, spotting the place with life and colour that makes it feel like maybe the world isn’t as dead and gone as it might be

most to least likely move on if their s/o dies.
a short little something to post while i work on some stuff in my inbox. except i only explain the bolded ones and the rest you get to come up with your own reasons i guess.
most likely: jason the toymaker, jeff the killer, candypop, kagekao.
50/50: nina the killer, x-virus, the bloody painter, the puppeteer, homicidal liu, jane the killer, laughing jack, hobo heart, the doll maker, nathan, eyeless jack, jay, jessica, brian.
least likely: zalgo, sully, slenderman, toby, clockwork, nurse ann, emra, laughing jill, alex, tim.
JASON'S whole thing is finding the one for him, so if his lover were to die then he would move on rather quickly, to be honest. he's killed many of his past lovers after he realized that they failed his requirements and whatnot. i suppose, if he thought his current significant other was the one for him, and they died an untimely death, then maybe he'd be less likely to move on. but he moves on from people rather quickly once he's done with them.
NINA really depends on how close she was to her significant other before their death. if things were fresh and new, then she'd probably move on with relative ease but if they've been together for years or they have such a strong bond with each other then i think it would take her a good long while to move on from their death to even think about pursuing any other relationships.
ZALGO wants to literally destroy mortals so the fact that he managed to fall in love with one? and then they died? yeah, no. he's never going to fall in love with another. that mortal was special, and now they're gone, and that just gives zalgo even more reason to create chaos and destruction. what's the point of the world living if his lover isn't there to live in it?
SULLY, unlike liu, is not accustomed to loss. he's never lost anyone close to him before, so he doesn't know what it's like to grieve and move on. so, i think, if he were to enter a relationship with someone, and his partner were to die then the likelihood of him moving on from them is damn near non-existent. i also think he'd be very hesitant to let anyone close after losing his significant other because he understands what it's like to lose someone now, and he's not sure if that's a pain he'd be willing to experience again so... it would just be safer to never let anyone close ever again.
TOBY has already lost so much, and he's already hesitant enough to let people close to him so if he enters a relationship with someone and they die? well, he'd probably break more than he already has. he's only one man, a mere mortal. he can only take so much pain and loss before it all becomes too much for him to handle. honestly, he'd probably be... grateful for slender's control over him because at least when he's in a mindless state of obey, he doesn't have to think about anything.

Trimax Thoughts Vol. 4 Pt. 3
Alright. Bit of a heavier one for tonight. I want to talk Vash's relation to his own feelings of anger and how these tie into his suicidal thoughts, because it's tragically fascinating and I still can't really make heads or tails out of it - specifically in that I don't think anyone is a reliable narrator in this situation so I'm left a little lost as to who to believe.
Tumblr media
(ID: A screenshot of four panels from Chapter 7 of Volume 4 of Trigun Maximum. A conversation between Hoppered and Vash takes place, in which Hoppered says "I bet you want to kill me too, right? Of course you do... You want to tear me limb from limb." A somewhat grainy image of Rem, smile visible but eyes hidden, is shown, before Vash replies, his eyes narrowed, "Yeah... I do..." End ID.)
Warning! I am going to be discussing Vash's no good, very bad mental health. It's nothing worse than what is obvious from a read of the manga but if you're not in the headspace for it, you might want to skip this one. I had a bit of trouble writing it, if I'm being honest.
Volume 4 basically solidified what had kept cropping up all throughout the manga - Vash is keeping himself going only through his goal of "settling the score" with Knives. On the next page, Vash says the following:
"That's why... you can go right ahead and kill me. But... before I give you that chance... before I let you bind me in chains, lock me up, and torture me to death... I will send Knives to hell!"
Yikes buddy. This has been a running bit of characterization all throughout the manga - Vash survives because he has to. He takes small moments of joy where he can, tries to smile even when he's not feeling it, looks on the bright side even when things seem hopeless, because that's the only way he can survive to do what he has to. <- There's nothing especially wrong with this. This is a coping mechanism and as far as his coping mechanisms go, it's not so bad at all. It's actually pretty good, all things considered.
Problem is, he also has to embody the ideal he strives for - that no one needs to die, that he will never kill. And herein lies the issue, because Vash already feels like a monster because of July. Any deviation from the peace loving pacifist image he tries so hard to maintain brings Vash's self-loathing to the surface.
Ex. Vash sees the moon his angel arm blew a hole in and goes from denying culpability for the destruction of July to hardly resisting and calling himself a murderer.
Ex. Vash expresses that he holds murderous sentiment towards Hoppered. He sees this as a justifiable reason for Hoppered to kill him.
Even the thought that he has or could still deviate from his promise made in Rem's memory causes him immense amounts of shame. Vash does not want to harm people. Is it out of love? Is it out of guilt? I think at this point, there's no separating them. Vash doesn't kill out of a mix of these two emotions that are so intertwined in his core they have become inextricable.
The thing is... Vash's driving emotion appears to actually be anger, specifically, anger against Knives. He wants to "settle the score", which is a pretty retributive mentality for someone trying to embody pacifism. In fact, that kind of motivation strongly clashes with that image in a way that imo cannot coexist. It's reasonable in his mind to take that stance against Knives, who is not one of the humans Rem died to save, but against humans, it's unacceptable. So, Vash represses his anger constantly.
A great example of this is watching the contrast between Vash fighting Leonof and Wolfwood fighting Ninelives. Wolfwood fights with his emotions on visceral display; he is loud and cocky and desperate and violent. Vash, on the flip side, is almost dangerously quiet and composed, to the point Wolfwood seems a bit disturbed by it - but it's all repression. He needs to stay focused, his motions are calculated to reduce harm even against the puppets, he's eerily silent and his facial expressions are controlled and muted for the most part; all methods that Vash uses to stay in control (<- this is important!).
Here's the thing. I don't know that I necessarily, fully believe that Vash wants to kill Hoppered. I don't know that I trust anyone's narration in this scene - first of all, Hoppered is mad projecting his animosity onto Vash because he needs to secure the image of Vash as unrepentant destroyer of July; if Vash isn't the demon he believes him to be, his quest for revenge was for nothing (well, sort of. Vash obviously did destroy the city, but the intent was not there - and the latter seems to be what Hoppered is banking his hatred on). Hoppered earlier accused Vash of enjoying the fight... which is pretty clearly not true, so that it was Hoppered who prompted Vash's admittance above is a little suspect. Second, we've seen what Vash looks like when actually violently angry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ID: Two separate images screenshotted from the Trigun manga. The first shows Vash raising his gun at a recently reborn Knives, angrily shouting the other's name. The second shows Vash having jammed the barrel of his gun into Monev's eye, clearly close to pulling the trigger. End ID.)
To me, I see little indication in the build up to this of Vash legitimately wanting to kill Hoppered. He had no desire to kill Rai-Dei after all, and that was after he knew the GHG were targeting Home. Hoppered is probably the most sympathetic of the GHG. Vash is also in a self-destructive mindset in this scene, having just called himself a murderer after seeing the damage done to the moon again.
Is he agreeing with Hoppered's projection because he wants Hoppered to continue to hate him enough to punish him for the deaths of all those people? (The image of Rem then becomes symbolic of his having already failed to uphold her sacrifice.) Or should I be taking his words at face value and he really does want to kill Hoppered? (In this case, the image of Rem is out of guilt for voicing something aloud that goes against his image of her.) Is it possible that a combination of his self-loathing in this scene and fear of himself has him agreeing with Hoppered out of resignation that despite his best efforts, he is doomed to destroy? (Like in fifth moon's "we were no good from the start". The image of Rem is thus the image of someone genuinely good and kind to him, an image he feels he cannot embody no matter how hard he tries.)
I find it very ambiguous honestly. Any interpretation is compelling from a character sense. Perhaps they all hold merit to some degree.
Regardless of how you interpret the line though, Vash is obviously angry, and for good reason - Hoppered, Midvalley and Zazie have taken Meryl. He's also likely afraid for her too - dude did jump out a window for like no practical purpose whatsoever before Zazie even finished talking. Like that's really sweet buddy but you accomplished absolutely nothing of use lol. Anyways. The point is, even if Vash was angry enough to want to kill Hoppered (and it would be for this reason, since nothing else would really warrant that), then that still wouldn't make Vash secretly evil and awful - first off, having a thought does not mean you will actually act on it, and second, what's the thing we keep getting shown and told, again and again?
Anyone will pick up a gun when their loved ones are threatened.
It's very natural to feel animosity for a person who may have harmed someone we care about. In that sense, Vash is behaving very human.
However, there's an extra layer here that complicates things. Vash has never been shy about his anger, but I think there is a bit of a progression of Vash kind of... tamping down on it faster, reeling it back in a little sooner after an initial flare of rage. ...Ever since Fifth Moon, actually. We also know that he has a strict training regimen, he does not miss a target, even blindfolded - Vash clearly maintains strong control over himself, all to mitigate the potential damage he could cause.
But then there's his Plant abilities. The angel arm. Something destructive he clearly does not understand, and has little if any control over (never mind that control was literally wrenched away from him but whatever). I don't think it's a stretch to say Vash is terrified of losing control.
Any human can feel hatred and anger and potentially cause moderate amounts of harm and damage, but these are likely to be targeted and can be more easily contained. Vash feels hatred and anger and has the capacity to level a city and blow a hole in a celestial body in the blink of an eye, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. That must be terrifying.
Because, see, the no-killing thing is out of respect for Rem, but Vash also strongly wants to, needs to believe that non-violent solutions are possible, that people are good, that anyone can change. Vash, out of some combination of love and guilt, does not actually want to harm anyone, but Vash is also a living gun just under the surface of his iron self-control. And being reminded of that deeply fucks him up, to the point he believes he is a danger by nature, incapable of living up to the standard of kindness he wants to put into the world, so even just the thought of wanting to inflict harm on another is enough to send him spiraling - because what if that is the point he loses his control? "I should never have been born" indeed...
It's interesting to me that Vash should call Wolfwood out on his lack of hope in a future for the world, when he so clearly has little if any hope in a future for himself. He allots himself no place in the world. Maybe you should allow yourself to heal a little, buddy. You have some people pretty close by who, in spite of it all, like you quite a lot...

since hes open to feedback im considering talking to james roach about giving jade the justice she deserves after her narrative shafting in act 6 and one-dimensional ooc-ness (and also being a plot device deprived of agency) in the epilogues. if i do im probably going to link to this post……
so james if i sent this to you and you’re reading this, hi! :)
you say, “i want you to know if youre having problems with the story you can come to me with it and i will hear you out”. first of all you are such a good dude and have such a good open honest approach to the fans. i need to get that out there, because i know you’re just as much a fan of these characters and world are we are. secondly, i don’t know what your plans for homestuck beyond canon are, but dave and jade’s poor handling is a problem in both homestuck canon (act 6, even act 5 fucking them over with “tell, don’t show”; see the latter half of section 1 of the post at > Dave: Deploy cloning apparatus. and section 2) and post-canon that has yet to be addressed.
i understand the nuances of making things flow in a story; things that have already been established can’t be simply retconned. i wrote this post knowing that in mind and hopefully working around that into believably timed and justified/needed arcs gives it more potential
jade is a character i care about so much, and many fans also. her dynamic with dave was one of my favorites but the resolution to their separation…is not even really a resolution. it’s hard to talk about one without the other since theyve always been narratively intertwined. or at least jade has
remember how they musically collaborated more than the other kids? (crystalanthemums is their surprisingly tender song dont forget. i saw that the weird troll grub versions of objects make a comeback in the upd8; make music a relevant part of homestuck in-universe again too </3) dave sending her sbahj furry poster in the mail? the first ones to use a collaborative fraymotif in the comic? kringlefucker and conksuck boot? literally collaborating on creating the right seed for the new universe? and then dave died in jade’s arms and they were separated for 3 years and then that never gets touched on because of the retcon and all the other endgame shit going on (and lets be real grimbark jade from before the retcon wasn’t a satisfying reunion either). we get like, a brief exchange of dialogue at the very very end that made you want to see MORE of them after the battle but it. doesnt happen.
and then in the epilogues jade gets warped into this oddly hypersexual ooc one-dimensional character meant to narratively get in the way of davekat and it’s so awkward and uncomfortable for them. and even THEN in meat timeline gets her agency revoked by the narrative with alt calliope. and in candy dave realizes he’s gay (i thought he was explicitly bi? didnt he call jane hot multiple times both pre-and post-retcon, and once call roxy a “choice babe” in pajamas before he knew it was his ectomom?? if you’re actually gay and in denial why would you have these subconscious freudian blunders). and being married to jade gnaws at him because of it which is. unsatisfying i guess and isn’t consistent with dave’s established sexuality…and then he dies leaving his probably concerned wife and becomes a robot. even if the “point” is that the epilogues are metanarrative commentary about storytelling and candy represents the kind of fanfic that goes off the rails with fanservice it doesn’t feel good when i still care about these characters and their established canons. and a lot of people are in the same camp as me regarding this. it’s still an uncomfortable resolution for their relationship
i really want to see jade’s arc overcoming being used as a puppet by the narrative and the space aspect. just some things to think about / consider that have been running through my head: she’s a witch, right? isn’t what she’s supposed to do is actively bend the rules of her aspect? feferi bended the rules of life by asking the horrorterrors to create dream bubbles so the deceased could still sort of “live” which had a massive narrative impact. who exactly determines that being spacebound means you are fated to be passive and alone? the author? alt calliope? how do we know alt calliope can be trusted or if she’s just projecting her experiences as the most passive class possible onto jade, who ironically has an active manipulation class but is forced to be passive for some reason? normal calliope wasn’t right about everything classpect-related either.
ultimately these things are up to you. you’re still the director of course. but i’m speaking to you, as equally caring of these characters as you and everyone on the team, as a hypothetical suggestion or just something to consider for a jade arc: i think it would do such good to jade and the comic as a whole to see her speak to the manager and recognize the power she has and take back the reigns over her own life and dignity. jade is MAD that she had her own possibilities for socialization and agency taken away from her. and with floralmarsupial, my beloved mutual floral who i went to homestuck high together with, i KNOW the potential they possess to write a compelling arc for jade harley. i think everyone knows too lol floral is THE compelling deep jade harley fanwork big name fan. i dont know what we got to lose. with you guys in charge now, and with the last we see of jade in hs^2 (now hs:bc) fighting callie’s influence and advocating for her own agency, really the only way to go from here for jade is up. (assuming she doesn’t permadie of peanut but i doubt that’s going to happen since she’s one of the original kids and it wouldn’t be satisfying storytelling. and it’s homestuck)

this statement so ripe with potential to me ^ and we’re left on a cliffhanger with jade going in this direction
i want jade and dave to be close friends who care about each other a lot and do silly stuff together again. this isn’t even a call to make davejade canon; it doesnt have to be romantic—i dont want a davekat davejade war to break out, you know? i know you’re trying to balance fan demands. but i just loved their dynamic a lot and i MISS it so much, homestuck act 6 didnt give us this and i wish their reunion had more that went into it. we’re past that point though
i want jade and dave to have a talk that’s like old times. something that isn’t awkward as hell or about sexual relations or drama or whos fucking who. just something for the two of them. something that grounds them in what made homestuck so compelling in the first place: character and friendships and these kind of interactions
i want to see them collaborate again. an idea i have is maybe they start a band or something since they’re both musically talented and also live together so they can make stuff together in person now. you’re a music guy you get it. tangle buddies. jam buddies
and maybe something more serious that concerns just the two of them. post-retcon dave never talked to jade about his thoughts when they fought bec noir right? knowing that jade would inevitably kill him with bullets through bec, but he couldnt warn her because he knows she wouldn’t go through with it, creating a doomed timeline? so jade thought all that time she killed him by accident…..what about all that guilt she must harbor? the first person she had in-person contact with since she was probably four years old, her best friend online, and accidentally killed him within just a few hours of meeting him? and never got to talk about it with him, let alone anyone, after three years? hello?? :(
these are the final lines of the last pesterlog between jade and dave before their 3-year separation (and basically all of act 6)
Tumblr media
so uh…..this exchange really openly invites some kind of talk to take place even if it’s long overdue. among other things maybe. they need to hug or something. jade’s touch starvation is real, but not everything needs to be sexualized about touch. she’s lonely and starved of affection but i feel like it would be more meaningful if it wasn’t sexualized. just really basic platonic primal cloth mother needs. just like..both being human beings and having basic needs like this that jade’s been deprived of. who’s the person she would feel most comfortable going to? who does she have the richest history with throughout the webcomic? dave, right? her online best friend since childhood that always cared a lot about her? they have stuff to talk about
i feel like that would address the issue people had with jade’s out of left-field promiscuity in the epilogues and even leftovers of it in hs^2. not only do i think primal platonic touch starvation would be a more meaningful and evocative type of interaction to give them at some point, it wouldn’t rock the boat or create any ship drama (davekat has long since sailed and most people seem to be on board with it) and it would probably be really positive representation of these sorts of things which not only throws a bone to aroace people but just depicting this sort of thing normalizes the fact that two people can be close and not necessarily in an official relationship.
this is a good transition point to this post also which is basically an extension to this one. it’s exactly the issues i had. it’s on the nature of what they had going and how much they mean to each other but how the storytelling held them back when it was unnecessary
this breaks my heart. mr. roach and hs:bc writing team please i miss my favorite blorbo duo being happy in each other’s company. they were such good friends but circumstances pulled them apart. i miss when they created music together and talked about their interests and exchanged quips. i am such a well of ideas for stuff like this. show us how much they mean to each other again
if youre still reading this james thanks for hearing me out. if you wanna pass on to the writing team to look at and get their feedback on this i’d be so so thankful

“and to think that after all this he still chose to save her, like always, probably knowing he had little to no chance, just because he cares for her, her life and who she is beyond this moment, really meant a lot for them. i really, really was mad that this would be the last time they would truly ever be together in a way that to me mattered” — vintagegamebro

Cursed Siblings
Ryomen Sukuna X Sibling!Reader
Word Count: 1524
Requested: @imperatrizpirata
Request: hello everything is fine? I love your post, can I request jujutsu kaisen again? with the female reader being a curse and ryomen sukuna's older sister? the reader also saves jumpei from mahito (but the reader wants to use jumpei to be his new vessel). Thank you in advance…
Warning: Cannon divergence, still cannon deaths
A/N: the moment that I saw this request I was super excited to write it, I hope that it lives up to what you were thinking about and let me know if you want me to right a part 2 because I would totally be interested in doing that.
Tumblr media
You were sick of the human bodies that you had taken, you had been around since the Heian Era, everyone knew your brother Ryomen Sukuna, he held their attention and therefore their rage when they came to take back their freedom and kill the biggest threat. The jujutsu sorcerers of that era knew very little of you and quickly forgot about you when your brother’s memory faded too.
You watched the world change around you, you changed with it, having to take a number of different host bodies, all genders, body types and ethnicity. It was getting boring though being the way that you were, stagnant in a moving world, you were established and had been for a long while as the danger in the forest, humans built a story around you, summoning you with a ritual allowed them to ask you for 1 wish in return for something from them and for the most part that was right however not many people were smart enough add the clause of actually enjoying their wish before you take your price and you were always in need of a new body.
The modern world was no different, in fact humans were more vain and your job had become more boring than it had been in a long time… Well until you felt it, your brother’s power surged across the city, someone had become his vessel, so you waited but he never came looking for you.
“You're the curse that they call wish granter?” One of the curses asked, he had light blue hair stitches that covered his face. “You curses should definitely know me by a different name.” Your muttered cheek rested against your fist as you looked down at them. “(Y/N) sibling to Sukuna.” You looked over at the body the voice had come from, it was dead, you knew that much, the curse was in the head of the body. “What do you want?” You asked. “This is Sukuna’s sibling, the one you were talking about, they don’t seem so dangerous.” The first one whined and you narrowed your eyes, a simple movement from your hand, he was pinned to the floor with a force no one could see but everyone could feel. “The lack of patience runs in the family. Do not test me, speak quickly, if I lose focus he dies painfully.” You warned them. “I am Kenjaku and we intend to bring your brother back to his former glory.” He said as he stepped forward. “You insult him by even thinking he would need your help.” You muttered as you looked over them. “A curse born from the fear of volcanoes, a curse born of nature's fear of man, a curse born of human fear of each other, a curse born of the fear of water based natural disasters and their puppet master.” You appeared before each of them as you listed them settling in a place before Kenjaku. “I assure you we are more than that.” Kenjaku promised. “What are you doing here?” You asked. “Sukuna is known to be unpredictable-” “You think he would be more likely to join you?” You asked. “They don’t call him a king for nothing, he will join no one.” “He’s currently trapped within a particularly strong teenager, a vessel I made to contain his power, under the watchful six eyed sorcerer.” The curse under your technique explained and you smirked. “And you're convinced that it will stay that way without your help?” You asked. “I know it will be with Gojo Satoru watching.” Kenjaku said and you shook your head. “Naive.” You muttered before lifting the cursed technique “leave before I kill you myself.”
You were out again, you hadn’t been bothered by those curses again but equally you hadn’t felt your brother’s power either, you hadn’t expected to when the curse womb made itself known but there he was. “Must you terrorise all life?” You asked leaning against the tree as you watched him fight the poor teenager. “I’m giving him the chance to save his friend.” Sukuna smirked as he looked at you, still easily dodging him. “You look well.” “I’m bored, you took your time coming back.” You sighed as he smirked. “You miss me?” He asked. “Missed the chaos, not you.” You answered “but you won’t be around for much longer, this one's clawing back.” “Hm.” Sukuna grunted. “Use the time to make a pact, a vessel made to contain your power is probably more brawn than brains right?” You asked. “You always were too smart for your own good.” Sukuna muttered and you shrugged. “Wait for me, I’ll bring the fun soon.” He promised. “I should hope so I haven’t waited this long hoping from body to body for you to fail me.” You said kicking yourself off of the tree trunk. “Get to work I’ll only wait for so much longer.”
You had decided to look for a new vessel or curse user to bind yourself to in preparation for your brother returning, you knew that you needed someone a little more vulnerable then the average, someone that you can ‘help’ and then manipulate, your brother loved ruling with it, inspiring it. You much preferred manipulation into loyalty if a subject thought that they owed you something they were far more likely to choose you when they were asked, that was what led you to Junpei in the first place. You started small bumping into him on the street apologising to him, holding a door for him or grumbling at people who caused him some kind of inconvenience, you didn’t need to be a big part of his life not yet, he just needed to know you. Your plan was ruined when Mahito latched onto him far faster than you planned to do and talked him into attacking his school but you managed to use that to your advantage.
“Help… Me.” He pleaded as he looked at the kid that was your brother’s vessel, you could hear the boy begging as Mahito laughed and you assumed that Sukuna was laughing too. “Alright that’s enough of that.” You muttered using your cursed energy to slam Mahito against the wall on the other side of the hall as you walked towards the transfigured human. “Hey you remember me right?” “Mhm.” He hummed almost like it was painful to do so, you reached out a hand touching his cheek and using your reversed curse technique to bring him back to his original form. “Thank you.” Junpei looked over at Mahito on the other side of the hall. “I could protect you from everything, if you wanted, I’ve seen you around, you're a sweet boy and you don’t deserve what has happened to you.” You explained. “Can you save my mum?” He asked. “She’s already passed?” You asked. “Yes.” He answered. “I can not reverse death.” You answered with a soft sigh. “I have no one left.” His eyes watered as he looked at you. “Do you want a friend that can never leave you, one that depends on you the same way that you depend on them?” You asked. “Y-you?” He asked. “Me.” You nodded, putting your hand out “state your terms and I will state mine then we confirm the deal by connecting our hands.” “I want you to protect me from any harm, stay by my side and be my friend, one that comes when I call.” He stated and you smiled. “I want the freedom to use my power how I see fit, to work with my brother when he asks and the ability to take control when I say the word activate.” You explained wiggling your fingers as you waited for him to accept. “Junpei don’t!” Yuji yelled. “Don’t worry Yuji, I’ll be okay, they’ll keep me safe.” He smiled through tears as he took your hand finalising the deal, the body you were in dropped to the floor as you took up the place of Junpei's bonded spirit. The pulse of energy seemed to call sorcerers in the area because by the time Junpei and Yuji had gotten downstairs the six eyes user and another sorcerer were waiting. “Yuji what happened?” The six eyes user asked but his eyes moved to where you were hanging over Junpei’s shoulder. “You can see me, can't you six eyes?” You asked. “Who are you?” He asked. “You know that already, think harder.” You teased. “You thought I was bad in this form.” Sukuna’s voice emitted from somewhere on Yuji’s body “no one ever talked about my older sibling but they should have, they were the one that taught me what I know and always reminded me that there was so much that they hadn’t taught me.” “You flatter me little brother.” You waved him off as you rested your chin on Junpei’s shoulder. “You have no need to worry about me yet…” “Uhh this is going to be even harder to explain to the higher ups, they’re going to think I’m doing this on purpose.” He groaned. “Time to tell them that the cursed siblings are back.”

Here is a summary of what I believe the ending of Homestuck 2 will be. Feel free to correct any part of what I say here. Please note that I am unsure of what the Homestuck's teams plans are for the story or what direction they are even trying to go in. I am not focused on that, only what makes sense for the story with what is already written. I'm adding in what I assume they are working off of from the original story as well. To start, Dirk is doing this so as to create the original universe. The one that came right before the Beforus's troll's. Moving on. Rose was already somewhat in tuned with fortune telling. Early within the story, Dave reads something Rose had written, Complacency of the Learned. Within it Rose writes of twelve selected children surprisingly turning. In the end; The four beta kids, four alpha kids, Karkat, Kanaya and Terezi make it to the end, along with Calliope. This makes twelve characters. (Ignore Jane's dad, he is not a child.)
Within Act 6, Complacency of the Learned is referenced again. Calmasis, a character who is referred to with both she and he pronouns, plays the role of the antagonist. This is clearly Ultimate Calliope. Calliope also hosts Lord English's soul inside of her body now that she has consumed him. This is where the androgyny comes in.
Within Complacency of the Learned Roxy's mother wrote all twelve characters are killed, all but Zazzerpan. I think this is going to be referenced within Homestuck 2 as a prophecy for events to come. Everyone in meat will be killed before Dirk.
Calliope had consumed Lord English, took in his soul. Part of LE's make up was Auto-Responder. A part of Dirk's soul. I'm certain she will have to die in order to kill off Dirk. (Think Voldemort here.)
I am certain Jake will have to die in order to kill of Dirk as well, seeing that Brain Ghost Dirk even referred to himself as a splinter who is in tuned to Dirk. Not unless Jake can get rid of this manifestation he's created. It is likely everyone in Candy will die during these events, unsure about the Omega kids. (Davebot might also be an exception.) Ultimate Dirk will, in the end, be killed by Dave. By the same sword that is capable of harming Lord English, Caledfwlch. Ultimate Dirk is gladly going to allow himself to die by his hand. (Who is to say that Dave will be willing to kill him...) DIRK: I’d never kill Dave, no matter what I felt the stakes were. I’d never hurt him either Now, here is a really fun part! In Meat, all the characters will have robot bodies. Terezi will as well, once she dies on her quest bed. I suspect there will be a blood and mind player so that Karkat and Terezi will be able to do this. Space and Time are a given, Kanaya will have a quest bed as well. Everyone will become immortal. Wonderful. Yippie. Yay.
A way that things may have a happy(?) ending is that all of the character's robot bodies will be destroyed and their consciousness might go back into their original bodies. If this did happen, they would likely be horrified with the events of Meat and being used as puppets. Jake might still have to die because of what I said earlier about brain ghost Dirk. They will all be their ultimate selves as well, all be awoken. They will know the events of candy too, maybe still love their children. That or they will still die, maybe because they are now guardians to children, who knows? Homestuck's team should take the chance to make the ending at least somewhat happy. Here's where I go off the rails: Dirk refers to himself as God. (As seen in this line the literal hand of God) In the context of this story, I assume he plays that role. Not just as someone taking over the narration, but as someone with full control over everyone that exists. The race(s) he is creating contains his DNA. His Heart powers can likely extend to everyone, since they all stem from him. (This likely excludes Void players. Seeing that Scratch could not see what was happening around Equius.) This is a guess, a shot in the dark, I think when Dirk was decapitated by Dave during Collide, this is when he woke up. It makes sense, fully dying would show him the nature of reality and that his soul is everywhere, even in death. So... what happens after he creates that full loop that I mentioned. What do they do after? Does Dirk just die and that's it? Is their more? Yep. Ultimate Dirk is likely the one who placed the code for Sburb on the moon for Meenah to find. Dirk is the one who corrupted Damara. He likely went to her directly. I don't see Scratch or English or anyone else going to talk to her, though perhaps there is a way they could have been in that universe. I just assume that Damara likely sold her soul directly to him and then she would be enslaved by Lord English to fulfill her role. Dirk probably ensured more events would take place. His role is to keep everything on track. If he fails, which he will not, everyone would not exist. I have so much insane shit to say, guys!!! I have more! MORE! To say! I could make a full length YouTube video myself on this crap. I also have a much more insane theory, probably the craziest one... probably the most accurate one too. I don't know if I wanna go into depth with it. But I'll just say the gist of it and it will make me look bad, uh... worse? Dirk desperately wants to shape Dave into a hero. Dirk wants to be the villain to Dave's story to make sure that happens. He wants Dave to decapitate him. Rose throughout the story references Freud so I don't think it's a shock that Dave's sword represents a penis (It breaks all the time too, oh my god). Dirk being decapitated by Dave is wild literal symbolism!
Here is what I assume Dirk's actual story is: Dirk fell in love with his guardian, who he did not personally know. He was detached from him. He idolized him. He wanted to shape Dave into what he thought Alpha Dave was. Later, when Dirk fully awoken to his ultimate self Dirk feels guilt over how he treated Dave when he was bro, and wants to die by his hand- but also wants to make it as homoerotic as possible. Oh nooo! He's in love with him! hehehe! I honestly think this story is running with this. That's why the homestuck fandom being upset about stridercest shippers is so funny to me. The stridercest fans might just be the ones with strong intuition or reading comprehension. When I realized this, it's what eventually lead me into shipping DirkDave. I didn't before but now it is too funny not to. I just don't really think Dave is into it. And I'm not going to go off again about Dave being sexually abused by Dirk openly already. It's so obvious and out in the open. It's like... is that even subtext? Dave's family member is cheerleading while Dave is about to animalstically fuck a guy, when Dirk's soul extends to engulf everything... Dirk can probably fell that. I assume Dirk can, even if he can't. Why be so eager to oversee your son fucking a guy? How is that not incestuous? I wrote a simpler version of what I am saying so it's easier for me to think this through, you all might find this too long didn't read version helpful. - During Act 7, the 12 survivors create a new universe to inhabit - During the Meat part of the epilogue, Dirk awakens Rose, kills John, forces Terezi to join him with the promise that John will be revived. - During Homestuck 2, Dirk begins the process of creating a new race and tasks Rose with making one herself. They use their Dna to do this. - Dirk's Dna is within these new people. - This universe is the first to ever exist, leading into the creation of Beforus' universe. - Dirk can look into every soul because he is a part of it. - Dirk is likely planning to have Kanaya, Karkat and Terezi die on their questbeds so they may become immortal before he places their souls inside of robots. - Perhaps because the Meat's cast's souls are hosted within robots, they will not actually die when their robot bodies are destroyed, but they will instead go back into their actual bodies.
Holy shit, this is all amazing! It would be cool if it actually leads down to this. And yeah, you could probably make a YouTube vid about this. Even make these posts on your blog itself and I'd definitely give it a share. I don't mind you sending me these kind of asks or posts. It's actually interesting to hear your thoughts about the series, the fandom, and the current project going on here.

heyyyyyyy!! so i saw that your reqs were open and thought id throw one in since YK- LOVE UR WORK!
and ik ive been requesting this kind of thing only (if u dont wanna do it for this reason, i understand!!) but- Could I please have a Yanplatonic Mephisto/Lucifer/Amaimon x Reader?
This time could you maybe do it with Reader being human, An exwire and completely unrelated to them at all. They hate demons with a passion, But somehow these mfs suddenly decide "yep, new sibling" and surprise adopt kidnap her?
Thanks for considering!! Love your work, Make sure to take breaks if tired!
-TML
YES!!!working on this kind of this is what make Requests so fun!Amaimon will be kind of funny to write🤣 thanks for the Request ❤️
PD: for some reason i imagine this Reader has some Shinobu personality? It's hinch.
Platonic Yandere Mephisto Pheles,Lucifer and Amaimon x Ex-wire! Reader
Genre: Headcanons
Reader: female
Warnings: YANDERE BEHAVIOR, PLATONIC YANDERE, OBSESIVE BEHAVIOR, MENTIONS OF BREAKING READER, FORCED FAMILITY, the three of them TOGHETHER on the title is NOT enough warning?? Illuminati, Amaimon is Mean sometimes--
SPOILERS FROM THE MANGA!!!
As said above, (reader) has a very complicated past with demons, to the point of hating them.
It can honestly be anything, whether your family has been affected by the blue night, by District 13 or simply that your parents have been exorcists who have died in the line of duty.
In any case, (reader) ended up developing a great hatred towards these creatures and decided that she would become an exorcist, in order to get out all that pent-up rage.
In general, I imagine this (reader) as a quite aggressive person and has trouble opening up, so she gets her emotions out through outbursts of anger.
but at the same time he is very intelligent, he uses his environment to his advantage and knows how to take advantage of his resources.
He has what we call "street smarts"
I have no idea who would be the one to take care of (reader) during her training before being Ex-wire, although with her personality, she would run away from any caregiver she had.
(I think the only exception would be Angel because 1- he is strong like that and 2- they share a similar hatred towards demons).
(reader) manages to enter the Ex-wire class, and stands out both for better... and for worse.
First of all, her classmates have a difficult time trying to talk to her (even Shiemi) precisely because of her closed attitude, in addition to the fact that she has constant friction with Izumo and even with Bon.
and most importantly she feels something strange with Rin...
(reader) doesn't know what it is, but she already hates it.
The only one safe from his outbursts is practically Konekomaru (and the weird kid with the puppets, whatever his name is).
It is because of this very fuss that it causes that it ends up attracting the wrong attention.
Mephisto is the first to have interest in (reader)
Not from the beginning as such, no no, although Mephisto had noticed her completely wild attitude compared to her companions (which he found hilarious to say the least) I think it would not be the trigger for him to become interested in (female reader).
I think it's only until (the reader) gets to share her experience, her horrible past with demons, the pure, burning HATE she has for them, that Mephisto finds her very interesting.
Oh humans, so diverse and with many facets~
but Mephisto definitely liked how open she (reader) was in her hatred, that she wasn't looking for moral supremacy or anything like that, she just wanted blood and she loves that!
so he tries to approach in a very unsubtle way and see more of that side knowing how much she hates demons.
appearing out of nowhere in the hallways to scare her and make her curse him, appearing in his dog form in her room to parasite (and then being kicked out) and a long etc.
In this way he not only became involved in the life of (the reader) but also learned more about her in the process, giving emphasis to the growing obsession.
Mephisto wants to know more about this "problematic" student who has caught his interest, whether it is having her academic record or all the information he has and whatever he has, he is not satisfied until he has it all.
It's almost as if I had replaced reading manga with the history of (reader)😅🤣
In this way, now every time he ran into (the reader), Mephisto made jokes and pranks that were increasingly more personal, more intimate.
and that is very scary.
apart from the fact that he behaves in a more... sticky way with (reader).
and that is VERY obvious.
He greets you with a HUG or a pat on the head (no, he doesn't care if you bite him or try to hit him).
and he is even the first to ask (reader) to call him "Oni-chan"
(how fucking disgusting--)
Mephisto is like the older brother who constantly bothers you.
and it is very difficult to get out of its grip.
Do you try to go outside the bedrooms? appears in the form of a dog.
Do you try to go for a walk around campus? appears randomly. It is impossible to surprise him.
But he does have something like an agent that helps him keep (the reader) in line.
That's when Amaimon comes in.
Honestly, he wouldn't be interested in (reader) at first, even though his older brother seemed to have an interest in her.
So, when he told him to keep an eye on her, he didn't think much of it other than it was a nuisance.
While Amaimon finds the task of "taking care of (reader)" annoying, he can't really do much against his brother. Although I think that to have fun from time to time he would make some things happen to (reader) just to make her angry. Like trowing insects at her or even leaving Creepy ass things in her locker.
It's boring for him, better than being a hamster, but extremely boring, so he starts picking on her.
She clearly sees him and curses him every time she sees him about to do something "mischievous" to her or when she hears him commenting on how "weak she is" in training. He thinks it's funny to see her all grumbling.
although eventually it becomes more than that.
Amaimon seems quite carefree, but as time goes by, he takes his "task" of "protecting" (reader) more seriously.
After all, being so weak, who else could take care of her?
He is one of the first to kill for the "well-being" of (reader).
I mean, he can do it as long as it's not one of the Okumura brothers, let him have some fun.
at the same time that he begins to want to have more interaction with (reader) beyond making her angry.
fight, for example.
After all, there must be something about her that caught her older brother's attention. Maybe she has something that he doesn't realize?
although without knowing it he is only falling into the same obsessive trap as his brother.
Once Amaimon becomes a student, rest assured that he will be glued to (reader) and insist that they fight, but she either tells him to fuck off every time or tries to escape from his grasp, without success.
It's like the meme of "fight me You nerd ass punk"🤣
Although don't get me wrong, I think he would be the most manageable of the three, even the "best" brother as far as possible.
(Bonus if you are a distant relative of Shiemihaza, maybe it would explain why Mephisto likes to mess with you so much, to screw with the Vatican)
He already understood that he can't make (the reader) fight with him by bothering her, so now he's simply trying to "figure out" what the hell he does to get there.
although at the same time, being as carefree as he is, he doesn't have so much problem giving (the reader) some time alone and can even distract Mephisto for a while so that she is less irritable.
Amaimon discovers that he actually likes it when (reader) talks and doesn't just grunt.
He's like that awkward brother but if you do him a favor he'll have your back, more or less.
Because he wants you to spend time with him.
It makes (the reader) at least watch him fight if she's not going to fight him.
I think Lowkey wants to show her how strong he is because well, Ego. but it is also a way to measure the strength of (reader) by her reactions. And intimation
although I doubt this (reader) will be intimidated.
He is definitely the first to suggest eliminating (reader's) entire family if she has one left :)
He's not really a fan of (reader) calling him a brother like Mephisto, but he demands the respect of an older brother and at some point he won't let (reader) walk all over him.
Mephisto and him argue about whether it's a good idea to let him (reader) fight him or not, precisely because Mephisto doesn't want him to get hurt.
and Amaimon WANTS to understand what made him become so attached to her. Maybe by fighting he will understand.
NOW, THE MAIN COURSE.
LUCIFER
(reader) at first would only know him from certain mentions of Amaimon that came to nothing, but when the Illuminati's declaration of war occurs or in any case something related to section 13, she understands everything...
There's a small chance that Shima told the Illuminati about (reader) seeing how "close" she was to Mephisto, which would make Lucifer interested.
Why are his brothers so interested in a completely human student who isn't even related to them?
(reader: same man, same)
So naturally he makes them investigate (reader) to understand why out of nowhere his brothers seem so attached to a simple human.
Who knows, maybe it will serve the Illuminati in some way.
(ignoring the hypothetical case of being a descendant of ShiemiHaza) when Lucifer does not find anything really relevant in his search, he is more doubtful than before, but he reasons, perhaps the human has some kind of ritual that only Mephisto knows about.
There HAS to be something that makes his brother like this.
For the same reason, if Lucifer tries to ask Mephisto directly, he becomes very defensive, telling him to stay away from the students and especially from (the reader).
which only gives him more motivation to want to know more about her.
so 1- seeing that she really doesn't want to be with Mephisto and Amaimon orders Shima to recruit her or 2- (more likely) he directly kidnaps her during the declaration of war on the true cross :)
Be that as it may, (reader) ends up on the Illuminati ship more deranged than ever, and well, it makes sense, now they not only harass her, chase her and pull her from one place to another, but they kidnap her!
Even if Lucifer maintains manners and courtesy, as soon as (the reader) realizes that he is a demon, he becomes wild and tries to get out by all possible means, including jumping off the ship!
Fortunately, Homare constantly watches her and, to his relief, she is not very talkative.
But Lucifer is still quite confused. If this human has absolutely nothing special then why is he important?
although he understands a little better when Mephisto demands that he return his "sister"
Ah, so that was it. family ties.
He is the quickest to accept that (reader) is something like a new brother, so as soon as he finds out this new information, he goes to (reader) and demands to know EVERYTHING about her.
likes, dislikes, what his life was like, his abilities, his weaknesses, whatever, his most obsessive side comes to light.
and (reader) is so confused that she barely answers 1/4 of the questions.
Now, Lucifer is like combining Mephisto and Amaimon.
He is very protective, but he is not on top of (reader) all day (at least not the same one, Homare is usually the one who watches the reader)
He wants (reader) to treat him like an older brother and be referred to as such, but he doesn't force her.
uses a similar approach as with Yukio. He slowly attracts her so that she gets used to HIM.
but it doesn't mean it's not bad.
If (reader) still has a family, he will use them as a constant threat against (reader) to improve her attitude and behavior, he is not above killing them if he feels particularly jealous.
Although I think he would kill (reader)'s sibilings if she had them. After all, she already has him and his brothers, humans could never be equal.
He doesn't spend as much time with (reader) as the other two, but he makes up for it with PRETTY expensive gifts and things he knows she likes (from stalking her).
I think he would only return (reader) if a kind of agreement is reached with Mephisto, in which they both share (reader) and Amaimon goes with her when she is with both of them, that way Mephisto can ensure that Lucifer returns (reader) (reader) and vice versa.
I know this was about their relationship as brothers with (reader) but it reminds me a lot of divorced parents who share custody of their children... although of course, these parents are crazy.
going straight all together, it's not as bad as one would think.
Mephisto is the biggest pain in the ass, that's for sure. He is VERY POSSESSIVE of (reader) to an almost ridiculous point.
He likes to put clothes similar to him, it's a way of "showing dominance" and he likes to think that this way they seem more like a family.
Being with him prepare yourself for a lot of unwanted physical contact and to spend HOURS watching your former classmates suffer from his tricks and be left on the sidelines because you can no longer even carry a weapon...
INFANTILIZATION AT MAXIMUM POWER, he loves to pamper (the reader) and act as if she were a little girl, either because it amuses him to see her angry or because for someone who is thousands of years old like him, she IS indeed a baby.
he reacts VERY badly to rules being broken, if (reader) wants to save herself from punishment (most likely having broken bones, even if he speeds up time so it's not THAT bad, it's horrible) she should go to Amaimon.
He's the best, I already said it.
more than anything because he "understands" better the situation of stress under the thumb of his older brother and now he can understand affection a little better, even if it is still toxic.
but don't be fooled.
If he sees the slightest possibility that (reader) is going to leave him, then he will tell Mephisto or Lucifer to ruin any plan, that's how he is.
apart from the fact that he follows (reader) s everywhere to "inform" Mephisto and Lucifer of his well-being. and it is impossible to lose him, he has a connection with the entire earth and a great ability to find what he wants. Do not even try.
although as long as you give him some affection and treats, he's actually quite manageable, not clingy or overly jealous, just very aggressive and protective.
(another who would want to kill the reader's brothers when seeing them as a threat to their relationship).
and Lucifer...he's a mix.
he's not AS possessive as Mephisto, but he definitely wants everyone to know that (reader) is HIS sister.
He has great respect for the rules and he wants them to be followed, but when it is (the reader) who breaks them, he is much more lenient.
Be careful, I don't want to say that he is exempt from horrible punishments, if (reader) exceeds a limit of errors, then he will not be saved from one.
but Lucifer goes more for the Psychological side of things.
It makes (reader) believe that she is in control of the situation, a situation where she has no real advantage.
In this way he gains her favor but causes him to fall into his trap.
because HE is the one who is in control of everything. If (reader) goes far, it is because he allows it.
very protective, more than Mephisto, if it were up to him she wouldn't leave the Illuminati base, but at the same time he gives (reader) much more autonomy than Pheles.
It's very difficult to come to terms with him, but at least you can use his own sense of the rules against him :D
I think that the one most likely to break (reader) would be Mephisto, followed by Lucifer, these two would undoubtedly do it on purpose so that (reader) would stop trying to escape. Amaimon would only do it by accident due to his lack of knowledge of the human mind.
If (reader) develops Stockholm syndrome, Mephisto is throwing a fucking party! even LUCIFER would be happy (reader) has returned to his senses! and Amaimon would be happy but he would definitely miss the anger.
In short, it's chaos, but it balances out in certain curious ways so you get a little bit of each world.
Overall, it's a VERY fucked up yandere trio to be with, but look on the bright side! you will never be alone...

Can you imagine the kind of grief Suchin would go through if she was brought back by Kronica? Like, one second she’s fighting for her and her son’s life against what seems to be an endless wave of assassins, praying and hoping they don’t find him, then she’s yoinked from her time and is now standing before a god, by the way those are real, and she’s saying she can make it so her and her son are never discovered and she can raise the boy in peace, just do her this one small favor and kill these people for her. She agrees, assuming that if events are unaltered that both her and Takeda would have died, so like the younger Scorpion, she’s fighting for a lie.
Then she meets the people she’s tasked with killing, some military grunts and their bosses and another god. Whatever. But then one of them asks for her name mid flight and she gives it, thinking nothing of it, the person is about to die anyway, but they pause and have this haunted look in their eyes and immediately call everything off and start panicking because holy shit they were about to kill Takeda’s mom. This is messed up. And now she pauses because how do they know her son? He’s alive? He’s involved in all of his?
Then she learns who she’s been fighting. His friends, his fiancé, his mentor, his adoptive father and master. It’s 20 years into the future and Kronica puppeted her into fighting the people her son cared most about. She was played a fool.
Once everything is over and a new god is made and things calm down she finally sees him again but he’s so vastly different she can’t recognize him at all. Her son was a small, shy, young boy that stubbornly clung to his mother and was wary of outsiders. This was a charismatic, witty, and kindhearted young man that is fiercely loyal to his friends and clan. He had become a warrior and she had missed every step of that progression and it hurt.
She'd be wracked with grief but refuse to show it and Takeda would see right through her. I bet the only person who could really get through to her about it would be Hanzo
Also, her reactions with young Sonya would be very interesting. Bc Suchin loves her son, always has, but young Sonya is understandably put off by the thought of having a kid with someone she hates, so they'd have some interesting convos
Kronika would get ripped a new one tho, Suchin isn't "The Bitch With A Blade" for no reason, after all

How do you think Alec would have handled getting the Valkyrie treatment? Being made into a puppet in the same way that he did to other people, his sacrificial suicide being subverted by another cape who uses people as tools but in a much more complete and permanent sense, coming back wrong and having his cape identity irrevocably a part of his body and self, and no longer being able to take off the mask, is this anything?
see i've rotated this extensively in my mind before because i think coming up with how a cape's design would turn out if they got glastig uained is a really fun exercise (do that shit to lisa for some Fun eyeball body horror!!) but i'm struggling to come up with what would happen to alec :( the most obvious answer is the crown becoming like. Attached. to his head. but id ont know if that's too far out there. there's also the concept of having his face frozen in a permanent smirking expression but i feel like that would go Too tragically counter to the point of a 'surprise hes back again' au wherein he would be expected to. yknow. realize and experience some of his feelings again at some point. so yeah i'd need someone else to help me figure that one out.
anyway the actual experience of being glastig uained. if i recall correctly in ward brian says it was basically just like waking up feeling like everything from before he died was just a few days ago not Years ago so i don't think alec would care that much that someone was using his ghost or whatever for shit while he was dead, relative 2 all the other problems in his life. wouldnt even notice with the type of shit hes got going on. the big reason why this au doesn't really work is that it's just Wildly Unproductively Depressing. it seems like ciara only starts bringing random people back by the time aisha is like. what. 20?
it works Fine and Actually Thematically Interesting Well that brian is like oh FUCK youve GROWN UP when he gets back because it's relevant 2 their sibling dynamics. but it does. it does not work if alec gets back and aisha is like 20. it's just depressing. from alec's PoV it would be "congrats you've been brought back into a world where your best and only friend is too old and character-developmented for you to actually have a close connection with even though for you it feels like she was still your age only a few days ago and also your fucking shit ass siblings are here too and btw the world ended so all of the nice luxuries you were enjoying previously are not options anymore. go feed the earth gimel sheep boy." and from aisha's perspective her best friend would be back but in a monkeys paw way where he did not get to grow up with her and he's still little and sad and fucked up and more like one of his siblings that she's caring for/trying to help vs the equal best friendship she Wants but Can't Have because he is Fifteen. so now everything sucks and is sad for everyone involved. :(.
i would say "on the 'up'side this is a hot new contender for scenarios wherein lisa could feasibly decide alec is her new sopping wet fixer-upper" but she already has an even more absurd and unstable option (that one cop) so as usual alec remains background. btw he would be offended on taylors behalf that lisa had replaced taylor with victoria (who he does not like because shes annoying) and entirely oblivious that taylor had ever thought or said anything about him being sucks and utterly lacking in interiority. AUs that have potential to be funny wrt alec's interactions with the other undersiders but are wildly fucking depressing when you get to his interactions with aisha.
if we fudge a bit and say ciara brings him back like riiight after gold morning aisha would only be a bit over a year older than him so that's more doable in terms of character development and eventual reconnection but it'd still be a mess. i'm not articulating my explanation of how aisha's character development works rn and i don't feel like saying something wrong so i'll just leave it here but trust me it'd still be a mess. maybe an interesting one but a mess

Tumblr media
I am not the ghost!
Without a soul!
come! Listen to my heart!
You here it beat…
(Preface for pronouns, Dart is transfem)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Introduction of both this au’s villains, and more Dart lore! This is for the au we’re Raz is 20 btw.
Firstly, Agatha was working on her reanimated dead in secret, her company makes toxin based weapons basically but they're still not Really doing anything illegal that people know about. The reason people started finding out is that she was dumping "unsuccessful" ones out of the drainage pipes in her factory and they began walking around and terrorizing people. Lili, Raz, Dogen, n Kitty were sent to the city her company's in (dubiously New York City) to sleuth out what was going on! They don't immediately figure out it's her, Dex gets wrapped up into it because of the zombies using C.R.I.M.E. tech. Agatha tried to be super friendly n sponsoring the psychonauts agents at first in order to lead them in the wrong direction ! Kinda a mix between Syndrome and Mirage from the Incredibles plot wise.
She eventually reanimates Dante, but noott very well. All of Agatha's zombies r basically puppeted around by mechanical parts and some psychic tech. Dante is only conscious after she reanimates him too bc he had his brain stored when he died! Agatha's reanimated dead are also reanimated a while after death, whereas Dart was reanimated almost immediately so Dante is practically falling apart compared to her. Dante is definitely not the main villain, and Really does care about Dart, especially since he went through so much effort to keep her alive after he died, but Agatha reanimates him so they can rediscover that same method that worked with dart. Which might become a conflict of interest between Agatha n Dante in the future.
When Dante was alive, he did actually Try to parent Dart, but so much of his time was iust devoted to his experiments and work and cult stuff and holing himself up in his office that they were distant regardless. I mean Dart was kind of just an experiment that he didn't even think would work and he got attached too- there were a good 3 or so years that Dante was sick and dying (probably harmful material exposure let's be honest) and they just Didn't talk about it. They both knew but they didn't discuss stuff like that. I mean they had heart to hearts sometimes but the last time Dart really saw him before he died was kinda 'you're dying and we both know it'. Even when Dante was alive, Dart was really trying to run away from anything ‘supernatural’ or ‘weird’ or dangerous and just live a normal life. That’s kind of why she started going to whispering rock, but after the brain snatching incident she just hid in the outhouse the whole time and then stopped going after.

A quick observation.
First we have Ionius, said by Hubert to have been a puppet of Thales. Thales, as Arundel, was regent meaning that Ionius was unable to rule likely due to health concerns. Now, think about this. Thales killed Edelgard's siblings when she got her second crest, and then Ionius gets sick. Thales takes over as regent until Edelgard ascends the throne, after which Ionius dies. We know Cornelia was manipulating Rufus and how he looks like shit, and when Edelgard declares war she has him killed. It's also been all but stated they were behind the death of Claude's uncle, framing Gloucester, while Claude's grandfather mysteriously became ill around the same time.
So we have Thales ruling in Ionius's place, Ionius being sick and then dying after Edelgard takes the throne. We have Cornelia manipulating Rufus into taking the throne, have him run the country into the ground and then has him killed with Dimitri framed and believed to be executed once the war starts. Then we have Claude's uncle be killed by them, one of the major houses of the Alliance framed, and then Claude's grandpa becomes sick as well and dies during the timeskip. We also have Holst being sick a lot in Houses, preventing him from acting. But then Claude shows up from Almyra, believing Fodlan will have the answer to fixing Almyra's racism for some reason, and then starts blaming the Church when that isn't the case while it's shown that TWSITD are trying to feed him information like they're implied to have done with Edelgard.
You starting to see what I'm seeing? I mean, look at how much they stacked the deck against Rhea. The Empire is attacking her due to their machinations, the Alliance is led by someone who wants the Church gone so declares neutrality as a result of their schemes, and they instantly take over half of the Kingdom with the only hold-outs being the Eastern part of it without any clear leadership because of what they've done to it. Hell, that means only an EIGTH of Fodlan (considering the size of each country) is fighting back against Edelgard (outside of Flower, but even then it's still mentioned by Yuri the Empire have the advantage) and it's still a stalemate before Byleth shows up.
Shows how bad Ed and Caspapa suck at strategy.

So I really like the concept of MCD Aaron & Laurance being friends. If you moved some stuff around in the timeline, like delaying Laurance’s shadow knight transformation to WELL after they meet Aaron, and match things up in time for Laurance to travel to the VP timeline, die to the Alter at the very end of season 1 a la Garroth’s sacrifice in the Irene Dimension style, and become a shadow knight either before or during the time Aaron becomes Shad’s vessel, I think it could bring about some juicy character dynamics and scenarios
(character and story analysis/ideas/headcanons below, content warning for ptsd and in-depth discussions of trauma)
I like the concept of them meeting in life, before either of them have died, when Aaron has closed himself off from the world and become hardened by the pain, fear, grief, and vengeful fury that came from watching his wife, son, and entire village die. When they meet, he’s stoic, he’s living off of vengeance alone, he’s miserable. The feared and infamous Werewolf Killer gets picked up by Aphmau, Garroth, Laurance, and Dante and brought into the Phoenix Drop Alliance, likely because he’d have much better chances at finding and killing High Priest Zane with them than just by wandering the icy wastes on his own. But the boys take him in as one of their own, they become friends, and Laurance is an especially big help to Aaron’s progress. Laurance is the comedian, he’s the playful clown, he’s the competitive spirit getting others fired up and shining their brightest, he’s the hype-man, he’s the one who cracks the jokes that keep you going in the midst of the horrific terrors of war. He’s like a dog, he brings infectious laughter wherever he goes, laughter Aaron is in dire need of. Laurance teaches Aaron the value of being light-hearted and genuine. He teaches him how to unwind, how to relax, how to have fun, how to play again. Through him, Aaron learns how to recognize when he’s safe, when he doesn’t have to fight. He can put his sword down and kick back for a while, join in on the games. He can forget about the pain for a little while. He’s the one who teaches him safety—which makes it all the more impactful when that’s the very thing that later gets torn from them.
I like the concept of Laurance being a Shadow Knight at the same time his old friend has been warped into his Shadow Lord. Aaron fights Shad and tries to heaven and back to protect his old friend from all the torture and the beatings and the brutalization designed to crush, but there’s only so much he’s capable of saving. You can have one version of their dynamic that’s much less angsty, where he does actually manage to protect Laurance from Shad’s wrath and control, preventing him from spiraling from the trauma and Shad’s influence later, and Laurance gets to keep his old, bright self through his escape and rebellion—but you can also make some delectable angst from the two of them, and I think I like that concept a little better ;>
I like to imagine that though there is a magical aspect to the Shadow Lord’s control over his knights, and he is able to possess and “puppeteer” them and send them into a blindly violent state that can be signaled by the Knight’s strong emotions, most of what makes a Shadow Knight a Shadow Knight is purely psychological. Every one of them is a person that went through a literal and emotional hell so viscerally traumatizing that they’re just…broken. They have to follow his every order, they can’t speak for themselves, they can’t do or think anything else, because God only knows what would happen to them if they did, and that gets programmed into their bones so deeply that the terrified little animal in their brains isn’t capable of even thinking of anything else—because he’s in their thoughts too. He’s in their minds, he can read their thoughts, he knows how they’re feeling, he’s in their bodies, he’s in their veins and their guts and their bones, like a terrible leech. And what thing is more horrific than losing your own autonomy and self-agency, what thing is more traumatic than having someone else, a writhing parasite of an untouchable, unstoppable man, taking your body as his property and using you, breaking you, controlling you, making you do everything you never wanted to do, like a million cockroaches inside your innards, that you can never, ever, ever get rid of, no matter how much you fight—until it’s just not worth fighting anymore. What’s the point? He’ll always be there. He’ll always find you. And that’s what happens to every Shadow Knight, that’s the fear and trauma in each that drives them to do everything they do. Laurance, Gene, Zenix, Sasha, Vylad, Zane (especially Zane since he happened to piss off Aaron too), they all have it. It’s horrifying.
But when Shad is defeated and his soul moves on to become the Judgement we see in When Angels Fall, all of his prior magical control over his Knights is lost. Laurance and Aaron are freed, all their enemies are gone, they get their happy ending, and the war is finally won. But the two are still left with the grievous scars, physical and psychological, and the question of “What the hell are we supposed to do now?” They can finally be normal now, if “normal” was ever salvageable.
Aaron remembers his old friend. He still held on fiercely to everything he learned when he was with Aphmau and the boys, he held on to his gentleness, to his care, his heart, his yearning for the joy of times long past. He feels terrible for everything Laurance went through under The Shadow Lord’s command, and he wants his friend back, he wants to make it up to him and fix it somehow, even if it may be impossible to ever fix something like that, he still cares enough to try.
Laurance remembers too. To the very end, he held onto his heart and everyone in it with a shaking hand. He also understands pretty well what it’s like to be forced to hurt the people you love and do terrible things against your consent, he knows what it’s like to have someone horrible control you. So he holds an empathy for his old friend, he doesn’t blame him for any of his hurt. He knows it was all Shad, he knows logically that Aaron would never hurt him, he knows that Shad is dead and the threat is gone. But that kind of fear and pain doesn’t go away very easily, and certainly not by the scorn of “reason and logic.” A part of him has been killed, and it’s going to take a very long time to get it back, if he ever does.
He still cares for Aaron, he certainly doesn’t want to fight him or hurt him, and there’s a significant part of him that wants to keep him close. But there’s also a lot of him that’s still pretty fucked up, that still sees his Lord when he looks at Aaron. And that brings up…a lot of things. Self-destructive things, violently defiant things, furious things, crying things, hopeless things, hopeful things, comfort things.
Aaron tries his best to be gentle and reassuring and comforting, he tries his best not to spook him, but they have good days and bad days anyway. It’s all very messy, very angsty, very sopping-drenched in pain, and very much a struggle. They’re working towards getting through it.
I like that concept.

If you accept prompts can you do more protective/angry freddy? I just want him to snap and go off while all the other animatronics are just like :O :O :O :O!!!
We’re kicking off this round of prompts with number 38! I know some of y’all have been looking forward to more Freddy being protective, so come and feast, friends! I’ve given Gregory the chance to annihilate Afton a few times now. I think Freddy deserves a turn. :)
Feral
“You broke my puppet,” the monster snarled, raspy. “Therefore, I think it’s only fair that you replace her.”
Gregory didn’t think telling the mostly dead man that it’d been Monty’s careless lunging that sent Vanny headfirst down the long spiral staircase in the west arcade would really help his situation. And also, fear was clogging up his throat as he tried to become one with the chair he was tied to.
Even though it just made him feel worse, he couldn’t help but keep looking at Freddy, frozen in the corner with a vacant expression. The monster—Afton, he was pretty sure Vanny had called him during her frenzied mumbling—had just ordered him to stop, and it was the worst thing he’d seen all night, the way Freddy had immediately fallen still.
Afton had laughed each time Gregory tried to call out to him, and he’d gleefully gloated that nothing could break his hold on the animatronics. Gregory didn’t want to believe him, but Freddy hadn’t so much as twitched no matter what he said.
Now Afton shuffled closer, decaying and rotten, his rusty joints creaking, the heavy animatronic suit jerky and stiff. He was a masterclass in disgusting, the dictionary definition of something that should’ve died a long time ago.
And in his clawed hand was a writhing, clicking, bug-like piece of machinery. It was like a grossly big centipede, maybe about three inches in length, with dozens of needle-like legs that flexed rhythmically. It was segmented in such a way that made it flexible, and the dark metal of its surface just made the shiny silver of its teeth in its round mouth stand out more.
“For your neck,” Afton told him, borderline pleasantly. “All it will take is a small incision, and it will burrow the rest of the way to your brainstem.”
Visceral horror seized Gregory’s heart. This was a world away from dumb animatronics hunting him—badly—or even the cheerful child murderer in a bunny costume.
“It will be agonizing,” Afton finished, glowing purple eyes flashing in what might have been anticipatory delight. “And then you will be mine.”
Gregory futilely tried to push himself further away from the encroaching parasite. His heart raced, and he couldn’t stop himself from breathing fast and hard, panicked. He was cornered, trapped, helpless. He burned with it, with fear, and his wrists stung as he twisted them in their bindings. His legs strained against the rope. Everything in his body desperately wanted him to move, his flight instinct kicking in with no way to satisfy it.
He shook his head, wide eyed and frantic, choking on desperate dread. As Afton picked up a knife, Gregory cried, “Freddy, Freddy, please! Please wake up!” It was better than begging Afton not to hurt him, even though Freddy didn’t react. His eyes burned, tears slipping down his face even as he squeezed them shut. He thrashed in place, whining. “No, no, no, no.”
He heard Afton circle around behind him, and then his head was being shoved forward. His stomach lurched dangerously when he felt movement in his hair; Afton hadn’t put down the parasite, and it kept squirming, occasionally brushing against his head.
“Freddy, please!”
“No one’s going to save you,” the monster whispered. “It’s always been that way, and it will always be that way.”
Heart fit to burst and eyes squeezes shut almost painfully tight, Gregory shrieked with all the desperate fear and need tightening his chest, “Dad!”
The cold line of the knife being laid to his neck made him stop breathing. Static crackled in his ears, and tension bowed his spine in the long pause before Afton started cutting.
The expected stinging pain never came. Instead, a deafening roar had him flinching, and the echoes of it hadn’t had the chance to fall quiet as fast, furious footsteps stormed right up to them.
A surprised noise left Afton, and the unwanted touches to Gregory’s head and neck vanished abruptly. Barely comprehending the change, Gregory numbly looked up—just in time to watch Freddy pick Afton up with both hands and hurl him at the wall.
The monster wheezed, and that was all he was able to do before Freddy was on him. He’d always been fast, clearly faster than the other animatronics, but Gregory distantly thought that Freddy must have been holding back before now. He moved with a speed that was truly inhuman, his eyes pitch black but for the pupils, which were stark, blinding white.
Gregory watched, frozen in place, as Freddy grabbed hold of one of Afton’s arms, planted his foot on that same shoulder, and yanked.
The rusty metal and rotting flesh that made up his body were no match for the sheer strength of an animatronic in his prime. The arm snapped clean off. Afton shouted in strained pain, scratching weakly at Freddy’s ankle with his other hand.
Freddy threw away the severed arm like it was trash, and Gregory’s stomach turned when he saw the parasite still held in the fingers, wriggling mindlessly, denied a new host.
But Freddy didn’t stop there. He swiped up the discarded knife and jabbed it through the hole where a nose would’ve been. He made a motion that Gregory could only call stirring with it, Afton screeching all the while.
It sounded like he tried to command Freddy again, garbled though it was, and Freddy scoffed. He reached into a hole around the ribs and, as far as Gregory could tell from his chair on the other side of the room, wrapped his hand around Afton’s spine. Whether it was bone or metal, Gregory didn’t know. Afton thrashed, groaning, as he was lifted.
Freddy effortlessly holding him one-handed off the ground was just insulting, and if Gregory hadn’t been on the edge of a panic attack, he probably would’ve laughed. As it was, he remained silent, a heaviness seeping through him as he pulled in choppy lungfuls of air.
“I will not let anyone,” Freddy said, the first he’d spoken since breaking free, “hurt Gregory on my watch. Certainly not you.” He straightened even more and, wow, had he always been that tall? He hadn’t seemed like it, before. “His claim to me is far stronger than yours, and there is nothing I would not do for him.”
He’d stumbled over the dad word a few times during the past handful of hours, admittedly, and though Freddy hadn’t reacted badly to any of his slip-ups, it—it was actually really nice to hear it acknowledged, reciprocated, like that. He sagged, boneless, in his bindings.
If Afton responded, Gregory didn’t catch it. Freddy slammed his body into the concrete with such force that it shook the floor. There were clangs and snaps of metal breaking, and bits of flesh splattered out of the tears in the fabric suit. Afton very well could’ve been dead from that, but Freddy took no chances. He grasped the more intact of the monster’s ankles and, turning so he was holding on over his shoulder with both hands, seamlessly whipped Afton up over his head in an arc.
There was no other way to say it: Afton shattered upon being reintroduced to the floor. His body split off into half a dozen pieces with an almighty explosion of delicate metal parts and brittle bones.
In the ringing silence afterward, Freddy turned with a growl and stomped down on the parasite, grinding it to dust with his fury.
Gregory blinked tears out of his eyes, and then Freddy was there, kneeling in front of him with a soft hum. He snapped the rope as easily as if it was thread, and Gregory tipped forward into his arms with a weak sound of relief.
Lifting him into a secure hold, Freddy turned and shoved his way out of that horrible room, leaving the stench of rot and blood behind. Gregory trembled faintly, gripping onto the edge of one of Freddy’s chest plates for the comfort of it.
“Thanks, Dad,” he mumbled, closing his eyes and resting his head against Freddy’s shoulder.
Freddy’s grip tightened slightly. “I will always protect you,” he swore. “I am only sorry it took so long.”
Gregory shook his head. “You weren’t too late. You saved me. That’s all that matters.” And he dozed off a bit as Freddy carried him out of the buried wreckage, safer than he’d ever felt.

Today in TMWSL #10, we get half our answer and also Joker in a skirt again! Look how happy he is.
Spoilers and violence, yadda yadda…
We open with Black Mask interrogating a police officer about what the Commissioner did with his men, but it quickly becomes clear something is wrong!
Tumblr media
Joker (our favorite Sewer Rat one) comes over the speaker in Roman's office (?) in the fashion of a flight crew, as Roman manages to get a gas mask.
Tumblr media
And our boy makes his entrance as grandly as always.
Tumblr media
With the henchmen dispatched, Joker starts to tell Roman about his complaints.
Tumblr media
And here's where I bring up Gotham War, and how I guess this is happening at the beginning of Bruce's 2-month unconsciousness after Knight Terrors, right as Selina is starting to steal all the henchmen and train them to be Good Nonviolent Thieves. Because here it's alleged that all the Gotham bosses are still doing fine getting their underlings and it's just Joker who isn't. I have to assume that because otherwise the inconsistency would be another reason to dunk on Gotham War and who would do that!
Anyway, we cut to Wesker who is collecting clues from the men Joker did manage to round up about where the other Joker came from.
Tumblr media
C'mon, Scarface! They're probably doing their best! Besides, you've got other things to worry about.
Tumblr media
Jason, noooooooooo! He's just a lil murderous conniving puppet! He can reform! He can do a YouTube series about mob history!
As for Joker, we know where he is. I mean, one of them.
Tumblr media
It looks like, for some reason, Joker is giving this cop Lazarus resin, assuming @clownprince's theory about where Joker #2 came from is where all this is going. Though it doesn't explain why Joker is reviving this cop. Not yet….
Also lookit them heels!
Anyway, Joker is looking for clues about his doppelganger with Roman personally, which implies he has a strong feeling Roman of all people has key info?
Tumblr media
Oh right, Joker doesn't know the other guy is back in town. But unfortunately Joker #2 knows his twin has wrangled up some friends and is having his own friends, er, de-wrangle them.
Tumblr media
In a way, they're just making room for Mr. Waffles' defection!
At least Joker gets to feel himself in this outfit before he figures out his scrappy crew is already being dispatched.
Tumblr media
Look, I don't know what Wesker is alleged to be up to but I don't think Joker has a leg to stand on calling him a pervert.
Anyway, Jason brings down Joker's mood. 🙁
Tumblr media
Ooh, I love when Di Giandomenico gets him all dark like that.
Joker does manage to get in touch with Shocky back at the warehouse and tells him to get everyone back there.
Tumblr media
SHOCKY ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW. … Also who are you and how did you of all people manage to find out??
Sadly AND PREDICTABLY, we cut to the warehouse and Shocky has also been attacked by persons unknown. Jason, Steph, and Ravager are already on the scene. And then Manhunter shows up and nobody has any chill so they all get into a fight. Steph manages to calm everything down.
Tumblr media
They compare notes and realize they're tracking the activities of two different Jokers. More importantly, they realize Shocky is alive! And we see Joker watching from the rafters.
Tumblr media
At first I wondered if Joker didn't like what Shocky told him and tried to kill him, but nah, it looks like the warehouse got hit by Joker #2's crew. And I think they took Fake Jackanapes because he's nowhere to be seen, but per #12's cover he does appear to be back with Joker. Hmmm...
All four heroes are conspicuously absent when Shocky gets taken to the hospital, but Joker hitches a ride on the roof of the ambulance. From flight attendant mode to gremlin mode!
Tumblr media
In a completely impractical way of figuring out what Shocky knows, Joker decides to interrupt his surgery in a new costume. I'm not sure if he had time to change into the cops' clothes outside or if he was wearing the first cop's uniform under his Sewer Rat outfit. I am sure that Mimi does not care!
Tumblr media
Joker shoots the doctor because he has not learned any lessons about why he has no friends, and gets to the big question.
Tumblr media
GODDAMMIT, SHOCKY– but actually I think the trope here is clear. Shocky did answer Joker's question in one word. DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN but that's confirmed shortly, after this hilarious page:
Tumblr media
It's Albert, the Knight Terrors son! Reading a Wonder Woman comic. It doesn't look like he took Joker's suggestion to ask for better toys to heart.
Inexplicably, Joker stops in the middle of everything to steal the kid's drugs.
Tumblr media
The implication may be that Shocky's words have jogged something in Joker's memory, and he's trying to ease the rest of it out. And that certainly seems to be happening, because we abruptly jump into the surreal "backer," which has a stronger tie to the main story than the others.
Joker is poisoning civilians when it turns out something's wrong with a henchman's mask.
Tumblr media
Joker takes this opportunity to create his twin himself (dun dun DUNNNN) with the assistance of Professor Pyg.
Tumblr media
Pyg successfully transforms the henchman into a Joker look-alike, and the fun begins, with Joker using his double to seem like he can be in two places at once, and to explain sudden changes of heart or ability. And all that goes fine until:
Tumblr media
Original Joker does not appreciate anyone killing his men but him! (For once.) He confronts his creation when he's sitting on a park bench feeding critters. (A Joker enjoying himself at night on a bench? If only a bat doppelganger was there to join him.)
Tumblr media
And we end on panels very reminiscent of what happened back in TMWSL #1.
Tumblr media
Is this dunking on Three Jokers? I'm choosing to take it that way (even though TMWSL itself could still go the same direction).
Unlike other issues, we return to the main story for a page.
Tumblr media
I had to include both these panels because 1) I enjoy the clown balloon exploding perfectly positioned in the cop's face and 2) like the last time Joker was in the hospital, he's reading a comic and replacing the story that's in there with something in his head.
But here it is! Half the mystery solved: Joker himself made his doppelganger! Which raises questions like "why?" and "how?" and "when?" but look there's only another couple issues to go.
And we can keep speculating in the meantime. Again I point to clownprince's theory linked above that some clone or plastic-surgeried reanimated corpse was mindwiped into thinking he's Joker. If that holds true, which it seems like it will because the Lazarus resin came up again, now we have Joker saying that he is the person who did it. Of course, if we go by how it went in the backer, then it's Sewer Rat Joker who is the fake, but since the backers are surreal and strange, the story Joker "read" in the comic may just be inspired by the actual goings-on and he really is the original as he says. It's also possible that we'll find both Joker's are so mixed up that they simply can't agree on who the original is, and we never get confirmation.
Regardless, we can further extrapolate that after seeing the clones at the end of Joker 2021, even though Joker was pissed about that, he may have been inspired too. It wouldn't be the first time that he thought a joke was only funny if he was the one who told it. So after he left Texas, he came across the mindwipe tech Bloom used in Task Force Z, and decided to give it a try? Except the person he brainwashed would be as vain as him and want to be the one-and-only Clown Prince of Crime, and it would never occur to him that he's the copy.
I'm hoping that's what it is, and not that the double was created earlier and it really is like Three Jokers where there's been more than one Joker tHe WhOle TiMe. I mean, Joker's last line could be taken to mean, "I was the one behind our best shenanigans and am responsible for our fearsome reputation." At least it's definitely not some multiverse shit as implied by that Batman #135 page.
We've got a couple issues left to get more answers. My understanding is that TMWSL stops at #12, which is a bummer. I've had a great time reading it, which only makes me grumble more about what's going on in Batman and Gotham War. "I Am A Gun" was delightful, but ever since Batman's storyline hit the alternate universe, the writing has gone… not great, IMO. So I'm not sure what Zdarsky is gonna do with Joker for the reunion. :|
