It’s silent in the car, aircon blasting as Jungkook just sits there staring at the dashboard of his car.
When he glances over at the clock it sinks in that you’re not coming back downstairs.
It had been an hour.
Which he knows is enough time for reality to settle in for you, that if you wanted out it would have been decided by now and he’d be driving the both of you home. Reality sinks in, yet he can’t bring himself to start the ignition just quite yet. The smallest sliver of hope that any moment now you’d open the door to the lobby, and he’d already be there waiting for you.
His phone lays open on your chat, last messages from over a week ago. No sign of you typing to message him saying you made a mistake wanting to stay at a friend’s house for the night. No ‘I miss you’, no ‘I love you’.
He swallows, fingers tapping against the steering wheel as he knocks his head back against the seat.
“Shit” he whispers, tongue pressing into his cheek.
The streetlights blur behind a veil of tears, slipping down his cheeks as his bottom lip quivers.
His feet tap against the floor as he tries to swallow down a sob, ugly ache blossoming within his chest. He wonders if it’s fully due to you not being with him tonight, or if it was partially the fact the last couple of weeks had been the most stressful of his life. So many fickle emails and bratty clients. His mind melted after minimal hours of sleep, locked up in that crappy office of his for more hours than he had ever wished for.
Or if maybe partial to the fact that he could feel the both of you slipping further away from one another, your fingers slipping from between his. Sticky vines that tied your souls together slowly unfurling until you’d slipped from his side, pretty flower of your existence slowly wilting, where all he can do is watch. So caught up with what other people needed of him, that not only had he neglected himself, but you too.
His phone screen glares at him, another minute ticking by on the clock. He snatches it off the seat, hand running over his jaw as his mind cranks back to life.
He sits there for a moment, ‘I miss you’
He shakes his head. He doesn’t want to guilt trip you to come home.
His tongue runs over his bottom lip, eyebrows furrowing in the slightest. Fingers tapping away on the screen, game of battle ship sending into the chat.
He stares at it, body prickling with anticipation, hope firm in his chest as he waits.
It can’t be more than a couple of minutes before you’re accepting the game, always a lot better than him at it. Though he didn’t mind losing this time if it meant any meagre sort of interaction with you. The small truce with whatever you had going on mending that little crack in his fragile soul.
It’s when you’re half way through the game does he get the notification.
‘14 days without logging in, no action? :(‘
His shoulders slump forwards a little, quickly swiping out of the game you were playing to check on his app.
His feet patter against the floor as it loads, impatience seeping from every fibre of his being as it opens. His fingers are quick to flick through each of the columns, mouth tipping open a little wider as he catches sight of his score.
Third place too. Not even second. Third.
20 orgasms behind schedule, utterly awful that he would ever neglect you of that, even if it weren’t intentional.
“Oh hell no” he cries, tears clinging to his lashes. His head tips forward, heart hammering against his chest when he startles himself, loud ring of the car horn echoing off each of the houses of the street. He sits up with wide eyes, peering out the window beside him, eyes focusing on your friend’s apartment. Suddenly embarrassed at the prospect of him waiting outside in hopes of you changing your mind.
He’s quick to swipe back into your chat, quick to play his turn of the game before he’s opening his browser.
He scrolls through each of the tabs, patting around the passenger’s seat for his glasses. He fumbles to turn the small overhead light on, hand brushing through his hair as he finds the tab he was looking for.
He wouldn’t be paid for another week, the flights staring back at him from his phone. Realistically if the both of you didn’t indulge for the week, then it would be fine, price for the both of you sending his bank balance reeling.
He swallows down the thought of all the money that’s about to go out of his account, false reassurance that it would all be worth it by the time he gets paid for all the work he’d put in over the last couple of weeks.
“It’s okay” he whispers, fingers tightening around his phone. He pauses, tapping open his banking app to make sure he wasn’t about to go into the negatives because the universe knows you would berate him beyond belief if you ever found out he was in the negatives.
He doesn’t think about it, fingers pressing against the screen, janky wheel of the booking website taking longer than he would have liked to spin. A short puff of reassurance dissipating from his chest when the confirmation email comes through: two plane tickets for the both of you. That, and with the Airbnb all booked, Maria having confirmed that it was totally okay for the both of you to go as wild as you liked over your stay in her place, even offering to stock it up with snacks for the first night you’re there, Jungkook’s plan was finally underway.
Only a little while longer, countable sleepless nights, ongoing projects that had become the bane of his existence almost ready to be sent off onto some other poor sucker before it’s even thought to be released.
Months of planning, months of stress and hurt and utter shit. Yet he could see it, the moment both of your hearts reach out for one another again, bodies warm pressed together, unbridled love shared through gentle kisses. Everything back to how he liked it before life had become too hectic.

It had been... a year, for the Dracule's. Mostly with the formation of The Cross Guild. When the warlords where disbanded, Mihawk had considered leaving his lover at a completely different island somewhere, to keep them away from what problems the Guild could bring them. However convincingly, reader got to tag along Mihawks side. Reader reminded Mihawk of his vows to his S/O,
"Through water and blood, I vow that I shall do whatever it takes, to keep you by my side. Even if the world truly turns upside down, you are not leaving my side".
Reader wasn't entirely expecting... buggy of all people. Reader preferred to stay away from buggy at all costs if Mihawk wasn't around (which mihawk greatly used as an excuse when he could). The both of them agreed to try and stay away from the... rowdier parts of the Big top ship. Which sadly was everywhere. The year was coming to an end and every breathing thing on the ship was screaming. Mihawk and reader had settled in the not small, but decent sized room they were given when they had arrived. Mihawk was enjoying a vintage, he had already drunk half of his bottle without realizing, and when he did finally notice, his attention had flicked to his lover, who was laying net to him on their bed.
Mihawk thought you were asleep, however his Haki told him otherwise. You were most definitely not asleep as you looked. He couldn't decide whether to say something, or to gently touch you, till you said something. "I can feel you staring, you a-also haven't flipped a page; for a w-while." reader said, tone shaken an unfocused. Which was HIGHLY, unlike your character. Mihawk looked to his book, which was now on the nightstand then back to his lover next to him. Sighing, he placed the empty wine class on his nightstand, and turned over to place a gentle grasp at your hip.
You flinched, swiftly bringing your hands to your ears before you stopped, Mihawk didn't take his hand away, instead turning you to your other side to meet him face to face. Your eyes were red from rubbing them, making them heavily glassy with unshed tears. "My Dearest, what has you so riled up like this?" his tone softer than normally, his face as flat as ever, tho you could notice the subtle differences that made his question genuine.
You meet his gaze has his hand moved from your hip, softly rubbing up and down your arm. Your voice shaky, "I-... it's the-" before you could finish a series of loud pops had echoed through the ship all the way to your shared room. You flinched once more, however much stronger than before. Your hands completely holding your ears down, with your knees now completely at your torso. Mihawks eyes slightly widened, his expression shifting slightly as a vein curved itself in his hairline, clenching his jaw he breathed through his noise and pulled himself closer to you wrapping himself tightly around you.
Reader first shifted at this, unsure. However, quickly they clung around their Husbands neck, burying their face into his pulse point. Their heavy breathing becoming more noticeable, and uneven. Mihawk brought a hand to caressing the back of their head, running his fingers through their hair. Shushing them, holding them as reader had done for him. He thought back thought the year, how many times reader had held and stayed by his side when he was drained or wasn't in the mood for anything. His S/O had always been there, but he couldn't recall a time where he was the one comforting reader, he could remember moments where they would seem off, however. Voice cracked, eyes red and puffy. These thoughts were interrupted by another loud crash, causing the reader in mihawks arms to startle.
"Hush.... my love, they won't last much longer." Mihawk stated as he held you tighter. You just nodded, still pressed against his neck. Mihawk honestly... had no clue how to approach you, he had so many questions he wanted to ask you. However, it didn't seem an appropriate time for such questions. he could hear a rough countdown happening outside...
"30.. 29.. 28!!"
Mihawks hand that was in your hair was now perched on your chin, tilting you too meet his golden stare as his other hand pulled you slightly away, you sniffled as you tilted your head in confusion.
"24,, 23,, 22"
"My dearest. I may not be... the most emotional human, I may not be as affectionate either. But it doesn't mean I don't know what they are, and I can tell somethings bothering you, and it has been for a while, am I correct?"
"20,, 19,, 18!!"
you stared at him, face red and puffy, you didn't know how to respond, yes, he was right, but what- why bring it up? Mihawk had just nodded, lips slightly tearing from their straight line, to a very small, unnoticeable to an untrained eye frown.
"16,, 15,, 14"
"For years, not even just this one, you have seen every bit of me. Even the parts I didn't entirely know I could express, you've been there for me, yet you have-not allowed me to aid you in your moments of distress, of need". God, his emphasis and tone on the last word. Youd think he was angry with you. or maybe even drunk...
"12,, 11, 10!!!"
Everything got so much louder. your unshed tears started to pour out, " And that isn't even the start. You act like everything is fine, never letting me help. You can't keep this up, not with what's going on around us now." he won't let up, his voice is starting to speed up. He doesn't do that.
"8,, 7,, 6"!!
"My fire and flood, love and dearest, I will not allow you to shed your tears alone, to carry this burden and mine on your shoulders alone. We vowed, to share these burdens together, had we not?" he's speaking even faster now, face lax, but concerned. You have been just staring at him, unable to form words at this. How easily, he could read you like his usual books.
"5, ,, 4 ,, , 3!!"
your tears were like rivers, pouring from your eyes, down your cheek to the sheets below you. Mihawks grip on you had tightened so significantly that you thought he was going to leave a bruise in the morning.
"If I could have just one wish, for another year with you, my dearest. Please. allow me to hold and sooth you, as you have me for years on end."
His voice was cracked, he leaned in and stole whatever words you were going to say.
"2, , 1!!"
"HAPp-"
All the noise was drowned out. Mihawks lips pressed to yours, unlike the swift and soft ones he usually gave you. No, this one was different. As his tounge prodded at your lower lip, the kiss developed into a passionate, deep, loving one. The conjoining of lips locking was so different than what you were used too, but you didn't care. you craved love like this for so long, your not letting this go so fast.
Mihawk finally lets reader and him breath, placing his forehead against his lovers. "i-im sorry..." reader squeaked out, again... again... and again. Mihawk pulled them back against his chest. but they wouldn't stop saying it. Sorry, sorry, S o r r y. Why was his dearest sorry? "You have done nothing wrong, love;" he assures the babbling wreck in his neck. "; but please... can you promise me, you'll let me closer? let me help... when I can." he pleads with his reader.
Reader doesn't let up, they refuse to take their face out of mihawks neck, arms tightly around his torso. "I. c-can't promise, bu-ut I can Try." That was more than enough for Mihawk, he would have to plan accordingly for situations in the morning. but for now....
He and his dearest reader deserved some rest tonight.
For Tomorrow was the start of a new day, a new year. one of unknown pain. So tonight, while they can, they enjoy the peace they do have.

Imagine my surprise when I learned 15 years too late that reading spicy fanfiction of Vegeta & Bulma is what you call the classic fandom experience. My teenage self missed out on so much community love. Also I can't remember if Taito came first, but they were my gay awakening for sure. Favorite Childhood Book: Frederick. Frederick is a little mouse who collects colours and warm memories when all the other mice carry food into their winter cocoon. All his mouse friends mock him for it but in the end, when the food is gone, Frederick and his dreamy heart bring all the mice through winter. It impacted me deeply. I still cry when I read it at 33.
Currently Reading: Da Ge by Priest, the novel to the Taiwanese BL series that's currently airing on Viki. Although I have to put it away every 5 seconds because I can't decide if I want to watch or read the ending first. It's such a damn good story.

SUMMARY: Brooklyn, 1927. The Golden Age of Boxing. Two years ago, light heavyweight champion Dean Winchester and heavyweight champion Castiel Novak had a secret affair. After a scandal tarnished Cas’ name and stripped him of his title, the two parted ways. Now, with a heavyweight tournament on the horizon, Dean aims to up his weight class so he can compete for the title. He finds unexpected competition when Cas comes out of retirement and returns to New York to fix his reputation. Upon their reunion, the two contenders learn that, outside of the ring, some bruises never really heal.
PREVIEW:
Dean shook out the cramping in his hand. The heavier he breathed, the more he became aware of the stitch in his side. If he allowed his heart rate to go down, he feared he’d lose the adrenaline keeping him on his feet.
He spread out his arms in a challenge. “Who’s next!”
The crowd cheered. No one stepped forward.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, Dean saw someone get shoved into the circle. The man stumbled before catching himself, and he didn’t step any closer.
Dean grinned cockily, because this was bound to be an easy one. He could take this guy out and move on to a real challenge.
But then he turned fully to face his new opponent—and every ounce of certainty and vitality came crashing down.
It was like a fever dream seeing Cas in a place like this. For a second, Dean thought he was reliving a memory.
He had a flashback the first time he ever saw Cas. It was in some warehouse just like the one they were in now, and Dean was standing in a crowd just like this, watching as Cas took down some man that was bigger than him in a couple of punches. Dean hadn’t known his name, wouldn’t know it for at least another three years, long after they had both turned professional and met at some party at a mansion in Westchester.
Time was no longer flying past. It grinded to a screeching halt. For a long time, all Dean could do was stare at Cas. Cas stared back, blue eyes wide and lips pressed tightly together.
Then, someone shouted, “Woohoo! Kick his arse, Angel!”
Dean had forgotten anyone else was there. Startled, his eyes flickered toward the man who had spoken—the same man who had pushed Cas into the circle in the first place.
Mick Davies?
No, that couldn’t be right.
Why was he there? And why was Cas’ coat draped over his arm? How did they even know each other?
Cas took a tentative step forward, arm outstretched like he was trying to deescalate the situation. “Dean…”
“What are you waiting for?” another voice toward the back of the crowd yelled. The rest of the crowd started jeering again, demanding a show.
And that was a good question. What was Dean waiting for?
He’d come there to fight. So had Cas.
Dean had come there to win.
A sick thrill went through him at the thought of beating Cas. Maybe it was about time the two of them fought. Maybe it would stop the constant buzzing under his skin that Dean had felt since he’d first seen Cas back in New York.
Maybe it would even bleed out the anger and longing he’d been feeling since Cas left in the first place.
Dean needed to get Cas out of his system. This—the first place he’d ever wanted Cas—seemed like the perfect place to do it.
Dean steeled himself, hardening his expression with determination, making himself a wall. He raised his fists.
Cas was still trying to stop him: “Dean, I don’t want to—”
Dean didn’t give a fuck what Cas wanted. He charged forward with a yell and threw a cross.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Twenty one. Have deleted as many in as many years, probably.
2. What's your total A03 word count?
740,975. I had this horrified moment as I was tallying… what if my current WIP (not live) has a bigger total than everything else that’s up as of today? (It’s not. I’m not sure if I’m relieved because this thing is shaping up to be a trilogy.)
3. What fandoms do you write for?

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Kudos in ratio to chapter, orrrr just the volume? Some of them are shit and I pretend they don’t exist anymore so I’m not going to list them. They’re like bad dreams. That shit never happened I don’t care if it took 38 chapters. And I’m not counting the Nightmarket because it’s a hundred and eighty one-shots lumped together.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Depends on a couple of things that aren’t always consistent, and often if I don’t reply it’s because the comment broke me. (I often will reply, but I’m like a cryptid — expect me to pop-up without warning six months after you’ve left a note.) It’s often someone saying something nice, my inner self-hatred seeing it and going, “LIAR!” And then taking six months to convince myself that I just can’t take a compliment when negotiating my own imposter syndrome.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ah that’s… hm. I don’t think I’ve killed anyone lately.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Everyone gets a happy ending. Even if it’s a little twisted. I like horror endings, you know? The kind that, on the surface, appear as if everything’s actually going to work out for the better but there’s a single drop of darkness left on the page that implies everything can be lost at a moment’s notice.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Narp.
9. Do you write smut?
Yarp.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Just once. Let’s not talk about it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Better not have. I’ve had multiple pieces plagiarized partially, though. In really hilarious ways (to me, at least) because there’s nothing like borrowing a turn of phrase said to you IRL (while you were sleeping with the person who said it), giving those words to Maul as he speaks them to the Reader character, then finding someone else pulled out several lines of the same dialogue to use in their fic without permission. Maybe don’t do that. You don’t know where this stuff comes from, and you definitely don’t know what I was working through when I wrote it. Awkward.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I remember. (Maybe once in X-Men? I've had work turned into podfic, though.)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Feral and Kai? Do OCs count?
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Nothing is ever finished even if it’s finished. I don’t understand the question. /j
16. What are your writing strengths?
I show up every day and I do the work. Even when it sucks and when I hate it. I do the work.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
If I don’t have a clear overview of how a scene is going to play out (or especially the layers of an argument between the characters — what they’re saying VS what they really mean, what they’re withholding, what the reader knows but they don’t, etc) I will spin my wheels and fill up a page with setting description to avoid making a bulleted list of what’s actually happening so I can get to the point. Then edit it twelve times later like hacking away at a hunk of marble trying to get to the good bits.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Doesn’t bother me. There are circumstances where the jist of the conversation carries regardless, and if not, I’m assuming the writer’s offering a translation either in-text or as a citation. I mean, if you want to get granular about it, then start asking does doing that serve the story and what does it add, or does it detract, but that’s a situational thing and I think you need to experiment a bit to learn what works in context.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

🍛 Have any comments, tags or reactions to one of your fics every made you laugh or cry or both?
So i have a very clear answer for this. It was a comment on Hands Off that I got that, through no fault of the commentors, made me so anxious i had to like, not write for a few days. Now It's fucking hilarious, but at the time it was sO STRESSED
I blocked out the name bc i don't want to put the person on blast because again it's a super normal comment but
WHEN I READ IT I HAD LITERALLY JUST FINISHED WRITING BENS RELAPSE AND I WAS SO WORRIED I WAS OVERSTEPPING AND THAT PEOPLE WERE GOING TO HATE IT?? I STRESSED OVER IT FOR D A Y S but it was good practice at moving past that stress and finishing and publishing anyway, which is why I think this comment is hilarious now.
🍢 Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?
I don't think so? I've gotten, like, reasonable criticisms, and that's legit fine, but I truly don't think anyone can be meaner about my writing than i am? that's not a humble brag 50% of the time my self esteem about my writing lives in the fuCKING SEWERS. Like, I'm not even sure hate could bother me?, if it was specifically about my writing.
🍘 Is there a fic or idea for a fic that you've abandoned?
I have a few AUs on my list that realistically won't get written, although I'd still like to? I just don't have the plot. One of them was an au where Hux is a hedgefund manager who shorted gamestop, kylo is one of the reddit wallstreet bets bros who inflated gamestop stock, and they meet at the capitol hearing on the issue. I just don't have enough plot to make it worth writing to me? it's like, a 5k story at most right now and I'm not interested in writing something of that length.
Yeah I just went through my list and I intend to write everything else, realistically. I stick to a main ship for like, 8/10 years, I've got plenty of time to get through them all.

If it's okay, Gray and Laxus headcanons? I saw these little clips of them from the fairy tail video game and it was so funny and endearing to me
Another shameless self-plug cuz this is about to be my most-read fic.
Also there is no art of Gray and Laxus even near each other because search engines only ever generate content for other ships when I try to search them. And there's exactly 5 posts in the #graxus tag. So here, have this image I stole from CBR.
These two kind of end up being the power couple of Fairy Tail? Nobody expected it but their relationship is much less dramatic and more stable than most.
These two are both loyal lovers whose love language is favors and acts of service. They have to do relatively little speaking in order to understand each other and their affections.
Laxus has so much pride in Gray. Back in the Battle of Fairy Tail, he was calling the guy a loser. By the time Gray stalked off to go kill Mard Geer, Laxus was like "I can't not date him".
They can commonly be found touching each other in small ways--arms around shoulders, usually, but also heads on shoulders or in laps, or even just holding hands occasionally. The casual PDA isn't too dramatic, but it's consistent.
This is because of the way their magics interact. Laxus radiates his magic, which feels very electric and tingly if he isn't restraining it, while Gray radiates cold, molecules slowing down around him. The two end up balancing each other out and when they touch, they provide each other a strange sense of equilibrium and contentment.
"I always thought your necklace was kind of cool." "I always thought your scar was hot."
The two are both punk-adjacent and enjoy a lot of the same hobbies and aesthetics, with Gray leaning slightly more emo and Laxus leaning slightly more rock. Their dates are surprisingly fun.
Gray is always wearing Laxus' clothes. Everybody knows what it means and he doesn't deny it--except that he also wears Laxus' clothes just because he can. Do they fit? No. Is he still able to make them look halfass decent on him? Yes.
There is something very magical when Laxus kisses Gray that makes the latter just want to stick to him like glue and do it forever. Likewise, when Gray kisses him, Laxus can't help but smile.
These two literally make the front page of fashion magazines when modeling together, they just have insane photogenic qualities.
"Bro" and "babe" are interchangeable, they both answer to either.
Laxus actually proposes after a few years together. He thought about a diamond ring hidden in an ice box but didn't want Gray to swallow it trying to eat the ice.
You didn't ask for them but I'm still gonna provide u the ns/fw headcanons just cuz i might not get another chance:
NS/FW:
Gray, unlike a lot of people Laxus is shipped with, doesn't like sex rough or super-energetic. To him it's more about intimacy and exploring the other's body, and Laxus is very receptive to this kind of sex. They're slow, gentle, and relatively quiet.
Gray is not actually an exhibitionist, despite his unconscious stripping. He will become one, though, if the opportunity arises and he's got a desire to give head. Gray is fantastic at oral sex and loves doing it whenever he can, so Laxus has successfully swayed him into ducking into an alley for a quickie or even a blowjob in the back of a taxi. Gray is way more embarrassed about it than Laxus is, but is he going to pass on it? No.
Being in Laxus' lap is literally Gray's favorite position. So much to touch, lick, and bite all laid out there in front of him. So stable when he needs to hold on.
These two treat each other's bodies like works of art, with something new to find every time they get the chance. Laxus loves to remind Gray how sexy he is, and Gray loves to brag that Laxus is all his.

Hey @spoonergodofspoons has gotten far enough in one piece for me to start recommending fanfics so I thought it would be easiest to post them here! Consider this my one piece fanfics rec list for people who recently got halfway through dressrossa
Part 1: early asl reunions
Look I am a sucker for these fics, and aren't we all a little in denial about marineford?
A present that's a mystery (giving you your history) by midnightluck you might see that name a couple of times here, I love their fics so much idk if they have a tumblr
Anyway this is about 5.5k of sabo getting his memories back early (because koala found embarrassing baby photos of him for his birthday) and reunion fluff, one chapter for Ace, one chapter for Luffy
Wish by spirit and if yes by midnightluck LOOK I TOLD YOU THEYRE REALLY GOOD AND I LIKE THIS ONE EVEN MORE THAN THE LAST!! it's an au where the RA send someone to keep in touch with the whiteboards every now and again, and now it's sabo's job! This fic has my favourite reunion of all time and I won't say anymore because if there's one fic on this list you should read it's this one - 32k

Speak up boys! By @plantwithoutplot , a solid contender for just being one of my favourite fics ever, it's currently sitting at about 69k (nice) and chapter 9/31 and look I know it's incomplete but it's SO GOOD
it's a time travel au, where the asl bros end up on Gol D Roger's ship. Ace is trying to commit patricide, Sabo is trying to be the reasonable one and Luffy is... Luffy. Everybody is having a rough time of it and auuugggg the angst of being reunited but knowing you have changed so much and what if you don't know them anymore and what if you are no longer the person they loved and AHHHH go read it!! Read it now!!!
Chasing the remnants by @29rynoah sabo goes with dragon to loguetown! This one moves a little slower than the others in terms of how long it takes for the characters to actually be reunited, but the writing is really good!! The payoff when they finally get to see each other again? The character work? Incredible, 40k and I know I said it moves slower but when I was reading it I swear it only felt like 10k
Being together we are stronger than ever by starryyah
Body swap! ASL can have a little body swap, as a treat! I'm sure nothing will go wrong! 13k
Part 2: Lawlu!
Okay, I know I'm a big proponent of platonic lawlu and I cannot see Luffy in any kind of romantic relationship I really can't- however some people are writing really good lawlu and I am a little bit closing my eyes and saying yes it is queerplatonic. To me.
I Love Luffy by missdreamgirl32 you know what I just want to steal one of their tags to sell this to you: Law tries to play three-dimensional chess against two guys playing go fish and loses
The character dynamics in this are so fucking good, I'm also actually just going to steal the summary right from the work because I get way to lost trying to explain everything else which is cool about this fic if I try to synopsise it:
After hearing Luffy off-handedly mention he has a boyfriend, and worried there might be some misunderstanding, Ace and Sabo decide to track the guy down and invite him out to dinner
Anyway it's really fucking good check it out it's only 10k I have read it... Many times (could be read as romantic, I do not)
The mysterious Torao by spooky_vallimo
This one is romantic but it's so fucking funny, spare 3k words worth of time to read this drabble, au where Luffy and Trafalgar met as kids, if you enjoy it there are some more works in the series
Come to sea with me, where we can be free by siojo
This is the only au that's set in a completely different world on this list, I guess I love Luffy is a different world but it's not fantasy different, its more a modern au
Anyway siren AU!
this one is again, a lil different to the others on the list, which are largely character studies
This one is on the list because I'm a little obsessed with the story aside from one piece characters? It's just really well written and has interesting lore and world building
It's also kind of a sad/bittersweet fic, and some of the characters do eat humans (because siren) so yeah, this one has a different vibe to the other fics on this list but it occupies a certain space in my brain, only 8k
Part 3: Miscellaneous!
This is ASL stuff that isn't necessarily early reunion, or is only about one or two of them
The world doesn't deserve you by dezace
Okay so what if I told you there is an au where asl brothers are pirates together as children? And that it was 47k and had other works in the same universe?
Great, you're on board? Now, this is the only fic on this list to have made me cry
It is HEAVY ANGST and Spooner I know I'm making this list for you but it will HURT YOU and you may not want to read it, the ASL bros may be alive but they were the only survivors after a buster call was made on goa, and everyone else on the island died, and everyone believes the trio to be dead for a very long time
But if you do decide to read this fic which will hurt you, the emotional catharsis at the end is REALLY GOOD!! and there are many more short stories in the universe!!
But if this all seems a bit too ouch, the this author has a different, more light hearted series: Luffy was raised as a marine and makes it everyone's problem, which is a fun good time where Luffy knows marine codes and uses them to save ace, among other things

On brotherhood by @ladycrimsonandblack
This is a lovely little fic where Luffy is the elder brother, just over 4k
There's this very specific fic niche where Luffy is older and he meets up with Ace while Ace is unwillingly being recruited onto the whiteboards and I just love it, this is the second one I've read and now I'm going to see if I can track down the other

Anyway yeah this is a very specific genre of fic, but it turns out I'm very fond of it

oh i have been tagged in a thing. ty @yugonostalgia2019. time to overshare
3 ships: Hmmmm ok I gotta list Taylor x Lisa, their dynamic makes me go absolutely feral without fail. Honestly I don't even need them as a ship I just love how horrible and amazing they are for each other. I am limiting myself to one Worm ship here, despite how much it pains me, but I shall provide brief descriptions for the other ships for the people who don't know the non-worm stuff here. Marina x Pearl from Splatoon are so damn cute and I adore them. Nepotism baby punk soundcloud rapper x runaway genius former child soldier military engineer is honestly just 10/10, and they're just so good! I swear to god if the DLC doesn't have a 20 minute cutscene of lesbian cephalopod kissing I'll riot. Splatoon is my biggest fandom besides Worm which is kind of hilarious to me considering the sharp difference in tone. Third ship... hmmm, The Doctor x River Song. I just think it's genuinely such a sweet concept and wonderfully executed, two time travelers who are in love but keep meeting each other in the wrong order so their experiences and knowledge of the other don't match up is tragic and great and I nearly cried at their final episode. Honestly just been a River Song fan forever too, she's eternally my transition goals.
First ever ship: Ohhhhh gosh this one is lame. Back when I was a wee lass in middle school browsing FF.net endlessly, my main fandoms were Pokemon and Super Smash Bros. I flat out didn't realize that you could ship anything except a man and a woman because like, no one told me, and I kinda was just not a fan of romance because I thought it was always forced in stories (I was right about that tho). But then I read a Smash Bros fanfic that had Lucina and Palutena shipped and I was just like... damn, women can kiss? That sounds so cool. Shame I can never do that. And so I read the shockingly large number of fics shipping those two because it was the only wlw ship I knew existed.
Last song: I don't actually listen to music that much. Last song is uhhh... the Monster Sanctuary PVP Theme I guess due to playing Monster Sanctuary PVP. If we're talking actual music, I think my sister forced me to listen to some Taylor Swift song recently? Idk what it was but I think the album was called 1984.
Last movie: I also don't watch movies much! Uhhhhhhhhh I think it was Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No. Might have been a different one? The Sharknado movie that ends with them crashing down to Earth inside of a shark after fighting them off from a satellite and one of the characters gives birth while coming down inside the shark and the baby cuts its way out with a chainsaw before the mom gets crushed by falling debris. Sorry for spoiling, I know everyone was really looking forward to watching Sharknado 3.
Currently reading: Making my way through the Snapshots series of Splatoon fics which are so fucking good. For published stories though, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight for a class. Thinking about rereading Worm and posting about it but I gotta beat the Lakesbian copy allegations.
Currently watching: I'm don't really watch anything when I'm on my own, I prefer to read in almost all situations. When I go home though, I watch One Piece with my sister because it is nice to spend time with her and she's very passionate about the show.
Currently consuming: Nerds Gummy Clusters. I regret every bite but I bought this shitty bag of candy so I gotta finish it. Fuck these are terrible.
Currently craving: Mini Chewy Sweettarts. They're my favorite candy and I have a massive sweet tooth so I've been craving them, but I swear every single damn store in a mile radius stopped stocking them and is now selling "Sweettart gummies" or "Sweettart chewy fusions" or "Sweettart ropes" or "Sweettart rope bites" and that is not what I desire! Where is my delicious mouth hurting candy ;-;

Every now and then, but usually it comes from Amy - yall know Amy - and even when it doesn't, its typically in relation to my plot choices and not a critique of my skill

Bro. Yes lmao. Not super kinky. Not entirely vanilla either. Idk that I could really give you a 'kind.' It's solely based on how thirsty I'm feeling on any particular day and then when I have to actually edit it, I want to punch my past self in the face.

Never written one, probably would though.

Yes and it was so cool to see. Still endlessly grateful.

*sigh* I call myself cowriting a fic with @fyonahmacnally and @chaotic-super. I also call myself cowriting a different fic with @sssammich. And then of course that series that we absolutely aren't writing. But thus far, most of the 'writing' has taken place inside our own imaginations. Maybe we'll make progress. Someday.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I think I'll finish all of them honestly. May take 3-5 years. But I think I'll finish.

Injecting the most misery possible into a single fic. Smut. I think I have a nice prose too.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing lmao.
I think most things are a weakness for me. I'm told my descriptive writing is great, but I always think it needs so much improvement because of my inability to visualize anything ever. But if yall can see it, then that's fantastic. Otherwise, long scenes with dialogue. I struggle so bad with extended dialogue.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Would stress me tf out lol. I think it's great. I've almost done it. But I don't trust google translate near enough and I don't personally know anyone who speaks fluent French. So we all just gonna have to use our imaginations when Lena walks through that parking garage.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Technically, Law and Order SVU, though it was never finished or posted anywhere. I needed Katie McGrath to come grab my inspiration by the throat, evidently.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Lie to Me. Without question. I put the most into it and I'm incredibly proud of it, even if I wanted to set it on fire most days. It's simultaneously the easiest and most difficult thing I've ever written and I hope I always love it this much.

1. how many works do you have on Ao3?
Ten! I am a prolific reader, but not so much a writer.
2. what's your total Ao3 word count?
253,223. Holy moly. I remember when cranking out 1500 words was a lot for me. I never expected to break that Big Phat 100k, which is yet another reason gallifreyburning is the wind beneath my wings. Half of those words are hers.
3. what fandoms do you write for?
The Old Guard and Jupiter Ascending are my two most dominant fandoms per stats. I've also written for Mad Max, the MCU, Leverage, and The Man from Uncle (the 2015 movie), but I wouldn't call these my most active reading fandoms.
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?

5. do you respond to comments?
Unfortunately not. When all of my fics were relatively short and I only got a handful of comments on each one, I replied individually to each comment. However, we have THOUSANDS of comments on INAIED, and although I've replied to some of the particularly consistent and wonderful commenters, there is no way for me to get all of them. However, please know that they are all loved.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
and reason quite decay, for Mad Max. It's a pre-canon snippet to the 2015 movie, about how Max lost the little girl he keeps hallucinating. I was very, very much into the "all lower caps, title is a line from a poem" aesthetic. Still am, to be honest, but A Fine Chain is just CONSUMING me atm.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
and sat him doon at her bed feet is a triptych of each of the Leverage OT3 being a selkie and getting together with the OT3, so that's technically three happy endings in one, but our INAIED boys worked so hard for their payoff that I have to put them first.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have been lucky enough to avoid this so far!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've written a grand total of like...two smut scenes, both of them m/m, but DEPENDING on how much longer I can tolerate the slow burn of A Fine Chain, I may be writing something f/m in the near-ish future!
now private chats between mutuals about IMAGINED character smut, on the other hand...
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I don't write crossovers - they generally don't appeal to me as a reader so I avoid them as a writer.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know, and I hope and pray it never happens to me. INAIED got a few weird pings last year, but so far I've been very very lucky.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have gotten a request or two, but I don't remember if a translation was ever posted?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
LOLLLLLLL. If it weren't for @gallifreyburning i would still be languishing at 5-something chapters of AFC and a handful of fics, and I would never have written for TOG at all.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Harsh, bro. I don't think I have a very favorite ship, but I definitely have favorite dynamics. See my "you are responsible forever for what you have tamed" tag
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Much Nothing About an Ado. My post-canon Mad Max fic where Max comes back to the Citadel and Furiosa decides to Hit That, but in the sexy way this time. But hey! I thought that It would take another decade to finish A Fine Chain, and I am ROLLING!
16. What are your writing strengths?
Mmmmfdfnggg. Umm...I'm very good at long, flowery descriptions, and at grounding clips of dialogue to specific physicality and setting, I think? When I want to write something, I usually see a movie of what I want to write playing out in my head, and then I have to figure out how to translate those actions to the page in a way that accurately conveys the action and tone. I block out the scene in bullet points first, then bang out a loose first draft, then go back over everything and rewrite it from the top, trying to make sure that someone reading it would see and feel the same things I did when watching the movie in my head.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
TOO MUCH FLOWERY DESCRIPTION. Sometimes I get lost in the movie in my head. Also, my crippling fear of intimacy sometimes translates to being hesitant to get to the actual climax of the story. I have to have acres and acres of slow burn, or I'm writing a single poetic one-shot with artsy film blur. This is where a good co-author is worth their weight in gold - you can't get away with kicking the can forever.
Also - I need to see if this still happens in AFC, but I feel like I rush through smut, and sometimes that pr0n deserves to be LINGERED UPON.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It's nice, if it's used correctly! It's off-putting, if not.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
OOF. I saw the first Tobey Maguire Spiderman as a wee babe, and wrote an absolutely passionate proto-whump fic about it in my spiral notebook along with some very bad illustrations.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
INAIED is a Lifetime Achievement (TM) for me, the thing that makes me genuinely frustrated I can't brag to my coworkers about the massive novel I co-authored. I will be proud of it forever and ever and ever. I own a physical bound copy of it, and take it out every now and again to look at it fondly. I Helped Write That Thing. It is dear to my heart.
