This is a un-fakeclaiming post.

How other systems present should not impact how valid you feel in your own systemhood.

It is great to share experiences as a community but they should never become a standard.

You are not fake for not experiencing something that is a daily occurrence in another system, nor are you fake if you do experience something that the other systems around you have never dealt with.

Please, remember that systems do not share everything they go through. That goes for both online and offline. Being a system and speaking about it is inherently incredibly vulnerable. Trauma is at the core of it, and we should all by now do our best to remember that trauma affects everybody differently.

Cherish what other systems deem worth sharing on such a public platform, but do not compare yourself to them.

With q!Cellbit and q!Bagi, I always love it when people design them as opposites to each other. I mean they already got the inverse hair color streaks going on in canon, why not incorporate that everywhere else? Cellbit wears black nail polish? Well Bagi only wears white. Bagi runs cold and wears her long coat in the summer? Cellbit runs hot and is seen without his jacket in the winter. One of them has sharper upper canines? Well would you look at that, the other’s teeth are deadlier on the bottom row. Y’know, stuff that shows that they have a deep connection but also inherently opposed each other as well.

Vampirism

TW: mention of blood + meat

This infodump will not cover vampirekins and that kind of discussion! This is focused on “irl-vampires” that aren’t inherently vampires spiritually or on a deeper level. This is an alterhuman ID but it isn’t inherently an otherkin identity, hence the tags! This’ll all become more clear as I go on!

What Is A Vampire?

TW: mention of blood

An individual who regularly requires blood/energy from external sources in order to remain healthy and functional. By functional I mean things like being able to think straight, go to work, connect with friends etc etc. Vampires become noticeably drained if they haven’t fed on either energy/blood for a period of time. Most report that they get drained after going 4-5 days without a Donor/Substitute others can go longer.

The community coined the term “vampire” purely because of the need to feed on external energy (in some way) in order to thrive. Not everyone within the community use the term vampire but a lot of us do.

How do I know I'm a Vampire?

As mentioned, the Vampire identity is attached to a need not derivative of another identity; generally humanoid, and generally expresses a Need. It is also important to note that you should’ve already explored medical reasons or possible things like an iron deficiency or various chronic disabilities.

This isn’t to say Vampires with iron deficiencies or chronic disabilities aren’t valid because there’s a medical reasoning to the identity, but it should be taken into account! I personally have both of what was mentioned above but there are also other mysterious things regarding my medical biology that have been discussed for years but are yet to be diagnosed or given an actual “reason”.

“If you find that you are unable to remain healthy or functional without regularly feeding on blood or energy, and after consulting with all relevant medical professionals, you still have been unable to identify the cause of your condition, then it might pay to start considering you have this condition.” — The Black Books

No one else can truly determine whether you are a vamp or not! It’s all about self discovery, self exploration and trial and error.

Types Of Vampires

Yes, it’s true. There are types of vampires depending on our feeding methods. So let’s go through the main ones:

Sanguinarian

TW: blood and meat

This is the type most imagine. Sanguinarian or "Sangs" are Vampires that get their external energy from blood. They require human or animal blood in order to maintain their health. I mentioned Donors before - Donors are people within the Vampire community who donate blood or energy to help our hunger. It is fully consensual and there are ways to do this safely in a clean environment with proper equipment (and testing of the blood before consumption). If Donors aren’t available, however, Sang Vampires may have substitutes like eating rare to medium-rare cooked meat.

Psychic/Psi

Psi or Psychic vampires feed off of energy from people or animals. This isn’t to be confused with the term “emotional vampire” or someone who drains energy from others easily or a psychic/spiritual attack. When it comes to Psi Vampires consent is ideal but it isn't always key. Most energy taken is from people completing their daily tasks in a public area.

Elemental

An elemental vampire is someone who feeds off of nature and the elements! Earth, water, air, and fire. Elemental feeding, depending on the element the vampire best resonates with, can be a lot simpler. They tend to also incorporate energy magicks and grounding to sustain the routine of feeding.

Hybrids

TW: mention of blood

Hybrids are able to feed from blood, energy or elements and are a very versatile type of vampire. Hybrids can have a preference in all the mentioned types of feeding but, essentially, they affectively feed in multiple ways.

Remember, we don’t CHOOSE how we feed. We don’t choose what sustains us, it simply happens.

General Q&A

Do we have powers?

IRL Vampires do not inherently have powers, no.

Allergic to the sun? Hate sunlight?

Not inherently! Many of us have a sensitivity to the sun/brightness but so do non-vampires.

Do you have fangs/sharp canines?

Again, no. Some folks naturally have pointy teeth ofc but not everyone does! My canines, for example, are literally not visible unless I reveal my top gums - they’re little stubs 😭

Do you age/ are you immortal?

Physically we aren’t immortal and we do not stay young. If you believe in reincarnation then… our spirits/souls live beyond our physical bodies. Some vampires may look younger though (some claim by about 10 years).

Do you hate garlic?

Me? I love garlic. But… you know, depends on the person.

Can I become a vampire?

This is debated within the community but the general consensus is no. You are born a vampire and go through an awakening/realization at some point.

So we became I

And I’m not sure how I feel

A Chief psychologist at a California children's hospital has claimed children can identify as 'gender minotaurs'.

Dr. Diane Ehrensaft is the director of mental health and chief psychologist at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital gender development center.

Her research focuses on the effects of puberty blockers and hormones on children.

First reported by Fox News, Ehrensaft has made claims that children can identify as gender hybrids, which include 'gender minotaur'.

The Minotaur, in Greek mythology, was a creature which had the body of a man but the head of a bull.

In a list of terms published by Ehrensaft, in a paper titled The Gender Affirmative Model, she refers to different ways in which children have described themselves.

One of these included 'gender minotaur', which is described as being a descriptor for a child who sees themselves as one gender on top, and another on their bottom half.

Other claims made by the psychologist include what she describes as a 'gender prius'.

This label is said to have been explained to her by a child who looked like a boy at the front, but had a long braid tied in their hair with a pink bow.

According to the paper, the child said: 'You see - I'm a Prius, a boy in the front, a girl in the back. A hybrid.'

Other terms include a 'gender smoothie' which is described as a variation of being gender fluid.

One teenager described it to Ehrensaft as: 'You take everything about gender, throw it in the blender, press the button, and you’ve got me—a gender smoothie.'

Another term shared by Ehrensaft is 'gender tesla' which she describes as a transgender state some children reach after being gender hybrid.

Ehrensaft had previously told a 2018 talk held at the San Francisco Public Library: 'I totally agree we are in the midst of a gender revolution and the children are leading it.

'It's a wonderful thing to see. And it's also humbling to know [children] know more than we do about this topic of being gender expansive.'

Ehrensaft believes that transgenderism is derived from a 'gender web' which is influenced by culture, upbringing and nature.

During the talk in 2018, Ehrensaft discussed a conversation she had with a 7-year-old that there can be 'gender minotaurs'.

She also said: 'I started meeting a whole bunch of other gender hybrids. And so we have the gender prius, we have a gender minotaur.

'And most of the kids who are gender minotaurs love mermaids. So make sure you have a lot of mermaid books. If you really you think about it, it works.'

Today the American Psychological Association taught me that "gender" is when you take a Buzzfeed quiz about whether you're a Monica, a Rachel or a Phoebe, and when it turns out you're more of a Rachel, you "identify" as rachelgender and change your pronouns to rach/rachself.

The same people who insist that sex is "too complicated" want to make sure you know the simplicity of "gender prius(es)," "gender tootsie roll pops" and "gender minotaurs," and that if you don't respect these identities, you can only be a transphobic bigot.

When believers themselves describe their gods as incoherent, we're justified in concluding they don't exist. When activists themselves describe "gender" as a dumpster fire of utter nonsense, we're justified in concluding that it doesn't exist, either.

Children don't always have the language to explain their feelings or their personalities, and when they hear the word "gender," they attribute everything about themselves to it, and are encouraged to do so by cult members roleplaying as health professionals. If you switch the word "gender" to "feelings" in the above, it makes much more sense. A trained mental health professional - or at least one who is not herself insane - should be able to figure this out, rather than funnel children's clumsy language into her revolutionary ideology.

These people are unserious lunatics who should be kept far away from children, and we should treat them as such.
