Dear {Family}, I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express some thoughts and feelings that have been weighing heavily on my heart. I want to start by acknowledging that I appreciate your sympathy towards my transgender identity. It means a lot to me that you're trying to understand and support me. However, I wanted to share with you how certain actions and comments have been affecting me. There have been times when jokes made at my expense or a lack of speaking up in my defense have caused me a great deal of pain. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's important for me to communicate how deeply hurtful these instances can be. I want you to know that my journey as a transgender person has not been an easy one. It has involved facing discrimination and witnessing the erosion of my rights as an American citizen, as an American veteran. Such as the impact of anti-transgender legislation that has been enacted in some states, such as Florida and, unbearably soon, Alaska. These laws not only strip away my rights as an individual but also perpetuate a culture of discrimination and intolerance. In these challenging times, I have longed for the support and understanding of my family. It would mean the world to me if we could have open and honest conversations about these issues, even if they may be uncomfortable at times. I believe that by fostering a space of empathy and sensitivity, we can strengthen our bond as a family. Let's work together to create an environment where I feel safe, respected, and loved. I know that change takes time, but I have faith that we can grow together and overcome these challenges. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I know a lot of people just see the flobots as forgettable one off's who did 'Handlebars' but their song 'Defend Atlantis' fucking slaps. Especially the following lines

Love me a good political music. Handlebars is, of course, the hit from this album, but the rest of it is pretty good too. Really good instrumentation, definitely worth a listen.
