Fluent Freshman - Part 16
PREVIOUS
Sweeties is very busy tonight but they get a table relatively quickly. He sees some people looking at their group all dressed in the ‘required’ attire for going out to Eden’s and reminds himself that maybe it’s for the best that people remember him tonight. It MAY help the police find his body in a shallow grave somewhere if they can piece together his last few hours.
Nicky stops by the salad bar and grabs three packs of crackers. He hands one pack to FF who just stares blankly at it before shrugging and figuring his stomach needs something so he opens the pack and just eats the crackers.
Nicky looks at him with an abundance of fondness that he doesn’t understand but shakes his head and hands a laminated menu over to him to order dinner from. “I know you’re not drinking but you still gotta take your meds before we leave.” Nicky reminds and FF nods. He reaches into his pocket to confirm that they’re there and feels something cheap and plastic.
Oh god, he forgot to take his Happy Meal Toy out of his pocket. No one needs to know that.
He shoves his hand into his other jacket pocket and the sandwich baggy with his single dose for his Ulcer is right there.
He starts to look at the menu when he realizes that everyone else already knows what they’re going to order since they apparently come here regularly. He tries his best to never be a regular at any place where they can see him and repeat his order back to him (Hello CVS girl, yes thank you for holding some Pepto for him. No he is very brand loyal and would not like to try Tums thank you.)
FF stands behind the art of the panic pick.
He has cultivated this ability over his many years of panicking. He can look at a menu and pick an item that might not be the thing he most wants on that menu it is something that he can eat or drink. Then while he has that pick queued up and ready to fly if a member of the waitstaff comes over before he’s actually read what’s on offer he has his panic pick.
A place like this has GOT to have a burger.
He finds it under the sandwich section easily enough and now he has his panic pick as he peruses the rest of the menu.
The waitress comes far faster than he had anticipated and slams waters down at each of their spots. “What can I get you?” She asks and before anyone says anything Nicky and Aaron slide over the two packets of crackers that she takes before looking at the empty packet in front of FF, “Just two?” She asks.
WHAT KIND OF CODE IS THIS?
“Just two.” Nicky says grabbing his trash and handing it over to her.
She shrugs, “Anything else on the menu I can get you boys?” She asks.
They all make their orders and Nicky, bravely, steps in to remind him he likes his burgers well done when the waitress asks.
“Sorry, I should have warned you.” Nicky laughs bumping his shoulder against FF’s “This place has this stuff called cracker dust, it gets you high but it’s not addictive.” He says.
Every single 80’s PSA goes off in FF’s head all at once.
NICKY “FLIPS TURTLES BACK ONTO THEIR FEET” HEMMICK DOES NOT LOOK LIKE HOW THE ‘JUST SAY NO’ ADS HAD SAID HE WOULD.
There’s not a trench coat! He wasn’t even wearing a hoodie with the hood up! There’s no sunglasses! Nicky had given him a baggie for his ulcer meds but IT WAS A SANDWICH BAG.
“I see.” He says out loud.
“Do you wanna try some.” Aaron asks. He double checks and yeah Aaron is still in the same club clothes he had left the house with. He has on a hoodie but the hood is down.
He does as any 80’s teen sitcom protagonist does by the end of the episode.
“No thank you.”
He thinks Mr. T would be happy that he said No. That ad had been especially nerve wracking as a kid when Mr. T ‘shakes some sense’ into the camera.
“Alright, no worries. Neil and Andrew don’t do any either.” Nicky says quickly.
The drugs come with the food and Nicky and Aaron pocket them before handing over cash to the waitress who just counts it right there. He focuses on digging into his burger and realizes it has jalapeños on it but Nicky volunteers to eat them with his nachos and lets the conversation weave around him as he polishes off his burger and takes his ulcer meds. “Oh cool, hand me the bag so I can keep our stuff in there.” Nicky makes a grabbing motion with his hands and FF just hands it over.
He zones out as he eats his fries. He wonders if Great Gran is upset watching him or if she’s happy that he said no to drugs. Maybe he should have said yes, then he could at least be blasted out of his mind when Andrew dragged him to the basement.
Well, it’s too late now.
The waitress comes and clears out their plates but picks up her notepad and pen again. “So, what ice cream do you boys want tonight?” She asks and looks straight at FF.
But FF is prepared.
Ice cream places are easy. His panic pick is a given, it’s Vanilla. Every ice cream joint has it so he barely even notices how his heart rate kicks up to 190 BPM and his palms grow instantly sweaty.
“Vanilla.”
“Sorry Hun, we’re fresh out.”
OH GOD. QUICK, SAY SOMETHING ELSE.
“Surprise me.”
NO YOU IDIOT SAY CHOCOLATE.
“Surprise you?”
RETRACT, IT’S NOT TOO LATE.
“Yeah. Surprise me.” He repeats and he can FEEL Nicky vibrating with laughter next to him.
“Alright Hun, I’ll surprise you.” She winks at him and he blinks back at her.
The rest of the table all order (They’re all normal people who order strawberry (neil), the special with chocolate (Nicky), Lemon Sorbet (Aaron), and Brownie Fudge (Andrew).
“Surprise me.” Nicky whispers to him.
“I panicked.” He whispers back.
“Yeah obviously.” Nicky snorts but pats him, “It’s fine. The worst is you might end up with Pistachio or something.” He pats FF on the back.
FF likes Pistachio and the world loves to make FF suffer.
“Here you go hun. We just got this in, it’s Mango.” She says setting down two scoops of a bright orange ice cream down in front of him, “With a little surprise.” She winks again as she sets the other ice cream down.
They all get started.
Why is the Ice Cream kind of spicy?
He eventually puzzles out that the waitress has served him a Mango and some kind of pepper (probably habanero) ice cream. She smiles when he thanks her for the surprise, tries not to let it show how much the spice is KILLING his stomach let alone the acid of the mango.
Andrew has his eyes narrowed on him and he’s sure the man doesn’t want him to make a scene at a place that seems to be a frequent haunt for the family. So he eats every last bite and ignores how his lips tingle.
“Ohhh it must have been good. Maybe we should get you her number.” Nicky says looking at his empty bowl.
“No, I’m good.” She was pretty but considering the acid currently swirling in his stomach she probably thought he was an asshole for asking for her to ‘surprise him’. Even if that wasn’t the case, what if she thought it’d be cute to serve him this spicy ice cream as a cute couple thing? His stomach can’t take that.
“Aw man you’re no fun.” Nicky pouts.
They pay for their meals and the waitress hands him his receipt with a wink. He nods back at her before shoving the receipt into his pocket next to the Megamind toy. “Have a good night.” He says.
“You too Hun.” She says.
They head out for Eden’s and in a way the ice cream is a blessing because his stomach hurts enough that he barely even notices his anxiety about being at the place where Andrew most certainly is going to stab him at least once by the end of the night.

Fake texts au- pt.16 bffs with the rookies+ revenge is a dish best served cold and glittery
When you woke up, you were tagged in many stories, almost all the drivers had put up stories in your support, chastising the paparazzi that had stormed you and asked inappropriate questions, even a lot of the Barcelona team (the ones you knew) were in your support.
Gavi is messaging you to complement your right hook, and Pedri to ask if you were okay.
The man you had punched was fired from his job and now wasn't allowed within 100 feet of you (courtesy of Max's lawyers), you had also gotten most of your things back, only left without your laptop.
And your 'friends'? Well, you knew just what to do to them. You still had some people you could trust back in the UK so you made them fill up all their dorm rooms with glitter and itching powder, and then blocked them everywhere, any and all communication would now be through Max's lawyers and man were you happy about that.
You were sure the next swing you took would be at them.
The university had allowed you to complete the rest of your course online, only giving the finals on ground, they were quite happy not to be spoken to by the lawyers knowing it was partially their security's fault to allow so many paparazzi to storm you in the first place.
You didn't feel comfortable going to the Las Vegas race and even Abu Dabi, just wanting a break but now? Oh now you were back for revenge, revenge on everyone who thought your life was theirs to judge.
You opened your group chat, you’d spent time FaceTiming and talking to the boys individually but it felt to awkward, to real to be in a group again but fuck that, these boys were your best friends! Lando, Charles and Max were like the older brothers you never had! Even Lorenzo checked up on you almost daily. You weren’t going to give all this up just because of some idiots.
You smiled as normalcy set into the atmosphere again. You called up a few people asking them if they could make and they all could, making you happier.
Things were finally getting better and now you could support your friends without feeling guilty about it.
You had missed the season end but had called Max to congratulate him, but hadn't felt safe enough to go to the party however much he asked but now you were going to be there for them, the people who've always been there for you.
This ones a lil shorter than usual but I needed a filler to move ahead😭

Idk if ur on Twitter, but people are absolutely ripping the devils to shreds. The main target of attack (no surprise) is Jack and Luke. People are acting like everything is their fault, and genuinely, I'm fuming about it. Because what do you mean?
Like ok relax, Jack is 22. This is only his fourth season w the NHL hes still a wee baby in comparison to other guys. Luke is 20 ffs, and it's his rookie season. Not to mention, he's breaking franchise/league records left and right as a rookie defenseman.
Jack is injured. He was out for 16 games and has the 2nd most points out of all the devils he's only 5 points behind jesper, who has played every game this season. Like do these numbers mean nothing to people?
Jack had consistently been getting better since he joined the league. He put up 99 points last season and was set for 100 point season this year until he got hurt (some people were even saying that with the way he was playing he wouldve hit 120 pts easy, which tbh i agree.) And now he's playing while he's not 100% healthy.
And people are out here saying, the hughes are trash, and they're the downfall of the devils, and they need to be traded immediately if the devils organization has any hope of being a winning team ever again.
Anyways. Sorry for rant. I'm just so upset by this 😭
just adding this as well so it's all in one ask but DEAR GOD the people on twitter are absolutely insufferable when it comes to the hughes boys!!
it's definitely just a trend at this point not to like them, which i am sure many players get. they just wanna be different and it's better to just leave them to it because even the stats from this season won't shut them up😭
if you don't like a player, fair! no one said you had to like them! but the reasons people give are so bizarre? and the way they make it their whole personality is just embarrassing😭
like you said, they are literally just 22 and 20 years old!! get off their backs!!
but to be honest, hockey twitter in general scares me because the people there are just😭i am very glad that hockey tumblr is much more accepting and nicer in general

I tried to make her a bit chubbier but idk. Editing companion icons are hard, it's easier to just draw her. But I have artblock rn, sooooo
She has autism and ADHD. Her special interest is cooking!
She sees Yaoyao as a little sister. Not only did she teach her how to cook, but she also taught her how to use her polearm.
She makes offerings to the stove god, both at an actual shrine and by just giving Guoba snacks.
She hates wearing makeup, but often helps Xinyan and Yun Jin do theirs before performances.
Xiangling caters Xinyan and Yun Jin's concerts.
She adventures with Xingqiu and Chongyun. She also brings a picnic basket along in case they get hungry.

Baizhu has multiple sclerosis. He is completely blind in the right eye and wears a brace on his left hand. They often need a cane to help them stabilize themself.
The medicine that Baizhu takes makes his hands incredibly shaky.
Baizhu sometimes becomes nonverbal and Changsheng will help communicate for xem.
Baizhu braids Qiqi’s hair every morning so she can remember what he looks like.
Baizhu initially took in Qiqi in order to pursue his goals of immortality, but eventually became incredibly attached to her and ended up adopting her. Although Qiqi technically doesn’t need to sleep, he renovated an old guest room in his house to be her bedroom. He took her to the store and let her pick out random things she likes to decorate her room with. She forgets about these things a lot, and gets excited when she sees them (which makes Baizhu super duper happy).
Half of Changsheng’s enclosure is decorated to look like a tiny human bedroom and the other half is a normal snake enclosure. The cage is huge, so it’s more like two different enclosures. Before Baizhu started taking xyr medicine, xe decorated it with tiny furniture xe bought from Changshun.
Baizhu is an amazing chef. Al makes all of aloes meals aloeself, it’s very therapeutic for al. They have a very restricted diet, so it’s not like they can trust other chefs 100%. It’s just the safest way for al to get the best food.
He also prepares meals for Changsheng (and Qiqi, when she feels like eating).
Although Baizhu isn't in a relationship, Gui has a crush on him.
Baizhu occasionally flirts with Zhongli, but never tries to actually ask him out. He knows that he's Rex Lapis, and also knows that he's gonna die young. He doesn't want him to mourn losing a lover.
Qiqi

Qiqi often calls Gui "Uncle Gui"
Whenever it sees Zhongli, it asks if he's Baizhu's husband.
She has really bad sensory issues. Because of this, Baizhu keeps things with problematic textures out of the house and the pharmacy.
I don't have many other thoughts about her, I really like her character the way it is.
Zhongli

Best Friends: Venti and Baizhu
Zhongli is the oldest Archon, so he is the most affected by erosion. This has caused Fibromyalgia. He has bouts of amnesia. His body also stiffens up at random. He gets awful headaches when he's reminded of Guizhong. He gets medication from Baizhu, but they don't always work.
They have a pet cat. It's a devon rex named Haoyu. He comforts them when they feel lonely and miss their old friends.
Zhongli has a crush on Baizhu, but doesn't know how to approach it. She's had many mortal lovers, but it always hurts when they go. Because of this, she pushes her feelings away.
Spends a lot of time in shrines, spending most of his mora on offerings to his old friends.

Best Friend: Traveler
Xiao and Itto are pen pals after the chasm incident. Xiao doesn't want to admit it, but Itto reminds him of Bosacius. This makes him think of him as a brother.
Xiao has a soft spot for Qiqi and sees her as a little sister
He has a crush on Venti, but pushes it down. He feels like it makes him weak.
He teaches the kids in Qingce Village how to fight using a polearm. He makes sure to tell them to only use it for self defense. He's surprisingly good with kids.
He talks to the Wanderer (I named him Kunimitsu so that's what I'll be calling him) a lot. He and Kunimitsu bond over having archon parents. They're both very aggressive and train together, which some people misinterpret as them trying to kill each other.
Xiao and Kuni see each other as family. They meet in Lumberpick Village where nobody else is around and just kinda sit there in silence. It's not awkward, despite their...personalities.

Best Friend: Xingqiu
Lost his leg when he was younger. He was learning to use his vision and accidentally froze it solid, giving him frostbite all over his leg. They had to get it amputated at the hip, so his entire left leg is a prosthetic.
Because of this, he trained his body to resist the cold. It also helps with his pure yang energy.
He gets hot very easily. His clothes are extremely light, including his little hoodie. In fact, the hoodie is only there so that he doesn't get snow in his hair. It gets wet when it melts, and he hates wet hair.
In fact, wet hair is a huge sensory issue for him. He also hates things like lotion and having a wet face.
Autistic with a special interest in ghosts and other supernatural phenomena. He often rants about it to Xingqiu, who listens patiently to everything he says with a happy smile.
He seems very awkward around Shenhe, but he's not. They're just both very quiet people and prefer to just hang out in silence. If they do talk, they only say a few words.

Xinyan and Childe are penpals. So are Xinyan and Fischl.
Xinyan has severe nerve damage in her hands from pyrotechnics.
She's scared of frogs because, when she was little, she was practicing guitar and a frog jumped out of her case and onto her. She's been freaked out ever since.

Into the Anthill pt 2 - The Wasp, The Fantastic Four, and The Avengers
This arc of Hank’s publication serves to establish his major relationships since he’d been a solo act up until this point. We meet his late wife Maria, his new partner Janet, and his eventual teammates in The Avengers. You know what that means? This marks the end of Hank’s publication as a solo act. Ant-Man vol 1 doesn’t come out for more than 50 years after this point.
And it’s about Scott.

We get the backstory about Hank’s first wife Maria and how she got kidnapped and murdered on a trip to Hungary. Her parting words that inspired Hank to be a superhero, you may ask?
“Go to the ants, thou dullard.”
This is also the first appearance of Janet van Dyne. Her father accidentally lured an acid monster to Earth with the laser he invented and it killed him, so Janet swore to avenge him and Hank decided to make her his partner. Jan basically fell in love with him the second she started to live a life of adventure but Hank insisted she was too young for him.
Tales to Astonish vol 1 #45
Egghead returns! Since his brilliant plan to use flypaper didn’t work last time, he decided to put Hank in a room with an anteater and see what happens. (spoiler alert: nothing happened. this guy sucks at evil plans)
Fantastic Four vol 1 #16-17
A big step up from Egghead, Ant-Man teamed up with the FF to fight Dr. Doom. This was his first time ever shrinking down to a microscopic scale as well as the first comic where he used flying ants to travel.
Dr. Doom set up a stronghold in a microscopic world and kidnapped the FF so Ant-Man shrank down to save them. Sue called him handsome, Ben joked about her wanting to fuck Namor instead, and Reed didn’t trust him, but ultimately they were all just thankful he came to help.
Tales to Astonish (1958) #46
Hank & Janet vacationed in Greece and fought a mechanical cyclops. Nothing else to say really.
Avengers vol 1 #1
Loki faked an attack by the Hulk to lure Thor into a trap. Ant-Man and The Wasp intercepted a distress call to help and somehow flew more than 1,000 miles on ants to help out (still arriving at the same time as Iron Man). Hank trapped Loki in a conveniently placed radioactive waste disposal truck after the rest beat him up.
Jan suggested they name this group ‘The Avengers’ and the rest is history.

When I'm writing fic, I typically end chapters when I feel story-wise, it's a good place to do so, but in general, how many pages is considered too short or too long? Mine typically run between 11-14 pages for each chapter.
Hi there! I’m gonna start by saying that “pages” is an arbitrary designation. Just alter your margins, your line spacing, or your font, and what was 11 pages could suddenly be 30 pages (or 2 pages, if you smoosh everything down really tiny). I don’t even think of my own writing in terms of “pages” because I use a relatively tight font and single space everything. My “page” is usually about 600-800 words, depending on whether I’m writing dialogue (more hard returns, and therefore more “space”) or exposition (more big chonks of text). So that doesn’t really tell me much about your chapter length, you know? If you’re writing in 16 pt double spaced comic sans (don’t laugh, some authors SWEAR by it as their writing font of choice), those are probably pretty short chapters. If you’re writing in 11 pt single spaced Georgia, they’re gonna be on the long side.
And if you’re posting your writing on AO3, “pages” aren’t really a thing there, either. Which is why everything there is measured in wordcount.
Now that we have that clarified, I’ll go on to say your original assumption is totally valid, good, and wise. Just like sentences and paragraphs, chapters are as long as they need to be. I mean, yes we could say that some sentences are too short (like a sentence fragment, or one that doesn’t convey a complete thought). Some sentences are too long (at least throw a semicolon in that somewhere ffs if it’s rambling on and on like Molly Bloom’s soliloquy) (for reference that’s a 22k word rambling internal monologue with no. periods. at. all.) (so like... you can break the rules sometimes).
(just know what you’re doing if you intend to break the rules that badly...)
But as for chapters? Just like with sentences that end when the thought is complete, and paragraphs that end when the idea is complete, chapters should end when the theme is complete. A “too short” chapter is one that hasn’t reached its objective. A “too long” chapter is one that continues on after its objective has been reached.
Don’t try to stuff things into chapters to beef them up to some arbitrary word or page count. Readers will get bored reading a bunch of filler. Don’t arbitrarily end a chapter if it has surpassed your “usual” length just to keep chapter lengths consistent. You wouldn’t do that with sentences, either, you know? You wouldn’t just keep typing words because your current sentence was “too short.” And you wouldn’t put a period in the middle of a sentence because it was running too long.
I mean, yeah, if you’ve got a 97 word sentence, you could probably edit that puppy down into separate thoughts, but sometimes the 97 word sentence is the right length, too...
(not usually... a 97 word sentence is probably stupid long, actually, but if it NEEDS to be that many words, you don’t randomly take a hatchet to it, either.)
Chapters within a single work don’t all need to be similar in length either. Some chapters will contain multiple scenes because they are thematically correlated. Some chapters will contain a single scene, or a transition scene between other larger chapters. THIS IS ALL TOTALLY VALID AND GOOD AND CORRECT!
There’s no such thing as “a good length for chapters.” There’s only “this chapter is a good length because it serves its function within the story.”

It doesn't look like you write for harry potter anymore, but I was just revisiting old favorites on ff. net and I wanted to send you my absolute love for getting it right and all of its spin offs. I read it first a long time ago, when I didn't know anything about messaging authors, and thought i'd tell you now how much i adored that series. I still think about it occasionally now, it made me fall in love with the next gen hp characters in a way that is unmatched by anything else. (pt 1)

god, this means so much to me!!! you're right, it's literally been so long and i really don't write for hp anymore, but GIR and all of it's sequels really meant a lot to me as well. they were the fics i wrote growing up. i started GIR when i was 16 and finally finished fremma when i was 25. nine years of my life and i honestly still think about these fics every now and then.
it's kind of a dream to re-write them, especially as i've gotten older and my thoughts and opinions change and grow with time. i know that a LOT of the plot for GIR/CGIR would definitely change if i wrote it today. who knows, maybe one day?

Fanfiction reader ask meme - 1, 13, 16?
1. What was the first fandom/ship you read fic for? How did you come to it?
In childhood my friends wrote stories based on animated movies/series like Princess Sissi (1997), Lion King, Pinky and the Brain, The Silver Brumby (Australian series), Pokemon, He-Man etc. They also wrote about Power Rangers and Tales from the crypt. Does it count? ;) If yes, then Lion King (and ship Simba/Nala and BrOTPs Simba & Kovu, Timon & Pumbaa) was the first. If it's going about more err... advanced fanfiction (or online archives) then hm... I think it was Tolkien's lore (or Harry Potter maybe) - I don't remember the first ships... I always liked Faramir/Éowyn but it could be Aragorn/Arwen (it was very very popular). From HP... Draco/Hermione. How did I come to it? I just... I was a HP fan maaaaany years ago and I always saw Hermione & Draco as endgame and one day my best friend just showed me some stories on blogs. And I was a tolkienoholic (childhood - 2018?) so I just had to find everything related to (forums, blogs and finally ff archives) ;) If I remember correctly, fanfiction.net (or Polish Mirriel Forum?) was my first contact with Tolkien fanfics.
13. Live/open/continuing canons or completed canons?
Well, as a reader I don't really focus on it. I just... read. Read what I like or what I find. So sometimes it's a story based on completed canon like Narnia, Arda, MCU (it's a completed 2008-2014 universe, okay? ;D) and so on and sometimes it's something written to open canons like Rowling's magical world, some tv series (I read fanfics when many crime series were still aired and continued) or animated movies like Shrek that can be probably continued (oh please, give us Shrek 5! 🙏). I mean, I can read almost everything and enjoy many fanfics (canon compliant, AUs, fix-its, what-ifs, comedies etc.) - it just depends on fandom. Sometimes I'm glad that canon is completed (and I have my whole point of view) and fanfics can be based on full worldbuilding (like Tolkien, Lion King, ER, X-Files, MCU), sometimes I'm happy that canon is still not ended and I can live-read fans' ideas and later compare them to the original plots and live-check what I like more: canon or fanon. Maybe in general I prefer completed things (because I don't like to wait or worry that the next season or book or movie part will be shitty or something like that xD) and mostly I look for my fav fandoms (which are now all completed, mostly in a best way - so here I love canon compliant fics, only Hawaii Five-O is poor *sob* - so here I wanna read AUs and fix-its!) but as I said - it depends (on fandom or my mood). Of course when I read ff to fandom that I don't know (yeah, I love blind-reading 😍) or truly don't care much about it, then I'm totally "whatever" (mean: all would be fine) ;D

Yes! Many many times! (as I mentioned: I love blind-reading). So thanks to my writing sunshines I watched f.e. Merlin BBC (Gizmo ;*), X-Men movies with McAvoy and Fassbender (Snylilith ;*), Witcher - only Polish TV series and I read short stories but it counts ;) (you, dear Rudbekia, Filigranka, The Dragon Hunter... - ;*), Star Wars OT & PT and some fan videos (Jamie Costa rules!) and tv series (Filigranka, Merryloon, Andromeda Mirtle, Elissa, Hazel Alice and all SW girls from Mirriel - ;*), Inception (SzmaragDrac ;*), Narnia movies (J.J. ;*), Banana Fish (Vicarious ;*), DC movies (Pantera ;*), Miss Saigon (Die Otter ;*), Brave (Marchew ;*). I read The Vampyre by Polidori (Abelarda Gildenman ;*). I learnt about Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell and even wrote one fic (without reading book/watching tv series 🤭) thanks to Abelarda Gildenman, Tina Latawiec and other girls ;* I watched few episodes of Torchwood and read about Doctor Who thanks to Ginny ;* I learnt about Mass Effect and Garrus Vakarian thanks to Naamah_Beherit ;* And about Supernatural thanks to SzmaragDrac and Die Otter ;* Huh, I swear, there is more and more and more!

Diona goes "fishing" with Klee. She turns all of the fish Klee blasts into her specialty dish, and the two use them for picnics.
She loves birdwatching. She sometimes has the urge to catch them, but she stops herself. This is how she teaches herself self control.

Everytime Diluc sees Kaeya and Eula drinking together, he feels a pang of sadness. When this happens, he gets Charles to cover his shift so he can take a break. He doesn't want his patrons to see him sad because of his brother finding a new family.
Diluc has severe burns on his hands from the delusion.
He wears a necklace under his suit. It has a starconch that Kaeya gave him as a kid. He keeps it there in hopes that it'll somehow help him get his brother back.
He has a lot of extra rooms in the Dawn Winery. One was given to Venti, another to Fischl, and another to Diona whenever she wants to stay there...but Kaeya's room is never occupied. It's exactly the same as it was when he left six years ago. Diluc's kept it the same, and occasionally just sits in there when he misses his brother.

She's SUPER pale. This is due to her having anemia. She often takes iron supplements to help with this, but she's still super pale. It's also because she's a night owl and almost never gets sun. This has led to many rumors about her being a vampire, but she doesn't mind. She likes being feared.
Vamp is friends with Diluc and often gives him updates on how Kaeya's doing. Vamp is also one of the few people who knows that he's the Darknight Hero, and the two work together a lot.
They get antidepressants from Sucrose for free.
The surname I gave her, Nacht, means night watchman.

Star reads people's constellations and learns their pasts, then star helps them cope with any issues they have. Star also prescribes medicine if needed, sending a prescription to Sucrose and Albedo.
