Levi is so clingy in the morning-
As soon as you move to get up, or your alarm goes off and you mumble “….time to get up.” Levi’s arms wrap around you tighter and he lets out a huffy little sigh…not actually saying anything, just trying to keep you in bed. You’re so warm and the blankets are so comfy…..he know it's time for you to get up, both of you actually.
But he doesn’t want to lose you, not yet. he knows the second you get out of bed he has to share you for the rest of the day, fighting for your attention.
And it’s just not fair!! He’ll miss your warmth and he always craves your attention, your scent, your touch- just you. Even if he knows he’ll see you later it’s not the same. so every morning he tries to keep you in bed just a little longer…..just keep your attention on him for a few more minutes.
and you know he’ll do it every morning so you just sigh and kiss his forehead, “Come on, guppy….I have to go….”
"No…..not yet….just…just five more minutes… please…”
….well- five more minutes can’t hurt, can it?

“Betrayal,” Levi x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: The 3 Titan shifters (aka Annie, Reiner and Bertholdt) had stolen the last Titan serum and you end up getting framed. While you get tortured by the military police to reveal the truth, Levi tries his best to prove your innocence.
Idk if this would end up being a series, it just might bc even tho this was requested, I’m thinking about having a spin where after the reader gets tortured, they have like a life changing moment (kinda like Tokyo ghoul where after Kaneki gets tortured, he turns into an actual ghoul) kinda like that so bear with me🤧
Warnings!: abuse and torture!!!!
.
.
.
It was a normal day, the only day off the scouts had and they all spent it relaxing and talking with each other. You had sat next to your boyfriend, Levi, while having a few drinks when the military police had stormed inside the place.
The sudden harsh grabs of their hands on your body, slamming you down on the hard table was enough to cause pain through your body and you had let out a wince from the impact.
Their actions had made Levi jump up and try to shove them off your body, his anger boiling at the sight of you being put into handcuffs without them barely saying a word.
“Back up, Captain and let us do our job.” The guy ended up punching Levi clean in his jaw and made him stumble back.
“What the hell are you doing?” Armin had shouted, all the scouts ready to fight with the guards as they yanked your small body off the table.
“Y/N is under arrest for stealing the Titan serum and helping the traitors get away.” They spoke coldly, making your eyes widen at their words and Levi had looked surprised.
“That’s not true! I didn’t touch it!” You shouted, trying to resist their attempts of shoving you out the door and you had looked back at Levi.
“It’s not true, you have to believe me!” The last look he had given you was disappointment and that had made your heart shattered as they put you on the carriage.
The ride back to their station was quiet, except their disgusting words that they shot at you to make you feel guilty and even a guard mentioned how beaten you were going to be after they were done with you.
Your heart ached and your body shook from the amount of rage you felt running through your veins. You were sure you already had bruises forming on your skin from the rough pushing and shoving against the table.
Levi had stood in the middle of the room, watching you get taken out the door with the small of blood running down his nose and everyone stayed quiet, looking at the Captain.
He didn’t want to believe it but why would they suspect you? Out of all people? It had made him overthink about it but the look of terror on your face as you looked at him one last time had made him feel deep down in his gut that you were telling the truth.
He was your boyfriend afterall, he knew you pretty well and have been for over a year so he was positive he would know if you were a traitor and if you stole something as big as the Titan serum.
As you were shoved inside the cell, being locked away, you were left to your thoughts and the tears threatened to stream down your face as you tried to think of everything- how did you even end up here? What led you here?
It was a painful topic to think about, to even think about being a suspect, to think about being a traitor. There was no room for you to be a traitor even if you tried.
It had taken hours before the guards came back to bring you into a empty room, tying you to a chair to ‘ask you questions’ but in reality, they put you here to enjoy the torture they’re going to do to you.
“Where is the Titan serum?” One asked, making your sad tear filled eyes to look up at them and before you could even open your mouth, he had swung his fist to strike you across the face.
The rough impact caused blood to spit out of your mouth and onto the wooden floors, coughing it up as you tried to take steady breaths but it was far too difficult.
Levi had finally went up to the station with everyone, trying to reason with the military police and talk to them about the fact that their thoughts on you were completely false.
They had surprisingly let Levi through considering he is a scout but when he got through the area he wasn’t supposed to be in and had seen you in the room, the way you were breathing heavy and the way you face was already beaten to the point where he could barely recognize your face because it was covered it blood- it made him angry.
“Have you even done your actual fucking jobs or have you been beating her this entire fucking time?!” He shouted at them, making you raise your head at the sound of his voice and your heart began to break more if that was even possible.
“We are doing our job, you’re not even supposed to be this far back here. Get his ass out of here.” The mp ordered the guards to drag Levi out and he had looked at you with a pained look, shoving the guards off of him and walking out of the room by himself.
He didn’t want to leave you there but there wasn’t a whole lot he could do except talk to the higher ups and try to prove your innocence to them but that’s a lot harder than it sounds
Throughout the night, the guards didn’t let you sleep one bit. The long hours of them beating you whether it was with a stick, a whip- it didn’t matter. They had even used knives to cut up your skin, they didn’t care- for all they know you were a traitor to them.
The amount of blood that had covered your entire uniform was sick, you could barely even keep your eyes open and handle everything. You stopped crying, you stopped screaming, you were just emotionless.
And inside your head, you had zoned out enough to not think about the pain and think about the harsh beatings they were giving you. It felt like you had changed into a whole completely different person and gave yourself a new mindset from all this torture.
And it took two days.
Two days for Levi to find proof, two days for Levi to run up to the station and slam the proof on their desks along with bringing the scouts for evidence to show them that the people who had stole the Titan serum was no one else but the two Titan shifters, Reiner and Bertholdt.
The way Levi had rushed up to the chair you were still tied in, the rope digging in your skin from how tight it was- leaving dry blood stains from head to toe.
The guards still didn’t feel bad, shit, they still thought you did it but by their boss’ commands- they had to let you go.
Your eyes barely opened when Levi stepped in the room, all you could hear was muffling of voices and a blur of his face come into view.
He wanted to kill them desperately. The way he would enjoy watching his blade slice through their skins like butter but he kept his cool, he kept it together but deep down he wanted to scream at the sight of you. You were awful.
He had scooped you up in his arms, you could barely see his face from the blood but you ended up passing out eventually.
When you had regain consciousness, Levi had barely made it back to the base. All the scouts had looked at you in complete shock and even Armin had shed a few tears while Eren threatened to kill all the MPs.
“Just leave her be for a couple of days guys, she’s in bad shape.” Levi mumbled, he didn’t want to think about it too much- he didn’t want to stare at your bloody state or else it’ll send him off the deep end.
He didn’t know what to do but simply clean you in the bath tub. He had undressed you and sat you in there, making sure to sit you up so you wouldn’t fall. You held onto the edges of the bath, your eyes staring down at the clear water that soon was dark red from your blood.
You remained quiet which worried him, he knew it must’ve been traumatizing but he thought you would at least speak up by now.
“Y/N?” He whispered, running the cloth over your body ever so gently and this is when he got full looks of your wounds.
Deep cuts and slashes on your skin, from your back to your arms and legs. It was painful for him to look at it, he knew you would need stitches for them.
“Will you be okay for a few minutes? I need to go get the first aid.” He stared at you but your eyes stayed on the water, your head tilted down and your eyes barely even blinking.
Levi had sighed, standing up from his spot and left the room to hurry to the infirmary and come back so he can stitch you up himself. While he was gone, your eyes had moved around the bathroom and the bloody cloth he was using to wash you.
Once you had catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, you stared at it for what seemed like forever- looking at the cuts that covered your pale body. Soon you started to laugh while tears filled up in your very eyes and even a few slipped down your cheeks as your laugh grew louder.
He had finally walked in the room, looking down at you and had felt a huge weight pin down on his heart. The mixed bloody tears on your cheeks and the laughter coming out of your mouth had him frozen in time until you finally caught his gaze, your laughing coming to a stop and your sobs started leaving your lips.
Levi rushed over, dropping the box and leaned over the tub to hug onto you but not so tight, making sure to watch your wounds. Your sobs had grown so loud that the scouts down the hall heard your crying, the pain escaping your throat was painful to their ears.
“Hey, shhh.” He had tried to comfort you, the guilt he felt had made him want to punch himself for not helping you sooner, it was his fault you were like this.
He stroked your hair back, tilting your head up to look at him fully and he couldn’t help but cry with you. The whimpers that escaped your busted lips had made him want to break down here and now.
“It’s okay, you’re safe.. you’re safe.” He repeated until your breathing had gone back to normal, placing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
He had resumed what he was doing. He grabbed the needle and thread, slowly starting to stitch you up while you silently cried in the tub, the water growing cold as your body ached. He had stitched you up in so many places that he could barely count, they completely went overboard with torturing you and he felt like it was on purpose.
When he finished cleaning off the dry blood off your naked body, he lifted you up and wrapped a towel around you. He watched the dark red water go down the drain and he cursed under his breath at the mess around the bathroom, blood everywhere.
You were silent again, numb to everything you had felt throughout the last few days, emotionless but felt the need to scream again but your throat was dry and empty and sore.
He was careful to dress you in comfortable clothes, mostly his t-shirt and some sweatpants after he made sure to put bandages over your stitches and cuts. He tugged his blankets back, laying you down and tucking you in.
Once your head had hit the pillow, your eyes shut and he sat at the edge brushing his fingers through your hair, watching you for a while.
“I’ll make sure they pay for this, I promise..” He mumbled, more to himself than to you before he pressed a kiss to your bruised cheek.
“I love you.”
Throughout the night he had slept beside you but made sure to keep his distance, he didn’t want to hurt you in any way and he knew you haven’t slept the whole time you’ve kept by the military police.
As you slept, all you dreamt of was nightmares and to you they felt so real. The way they would hit you, it felt like they actually did and when they had walked up to your bloody corpse, leaning down and even threatening to cut off your fingers.
The way their plyers had gripped onto your fingernails as they ripped it out with no remorse- it all felt too real. Your body would shake, jolt and even whimpers would fall from your lips as you slept. It had taken a while for Levi to even wake up from your movements.
“Y/N.” He tried to be as gentle as possible, placing his hand on your arm and that’s when you jolted awake, sitting up and panting.
He had removed his hand when you shot up, hesitating before he reached out for you again and when you felt his fingertips- you flinched hard, looking over at him like he was a stranger.
“It’s me.” He mumbled, your eyes adjusting to the dark and you looked at his pained expression and that made your breathing start to calm down.
“Sorry.” You whispered, wiping the sweat off your forehead and you looked down at your arms wrapped in bandages, seeing the blood start to leak through.
“Don’t be.. do you want to talk about it?”
“No.” You said coldly, moving to lay back down in bed and had your back facing him as you stared at the wall.
Levi wanted to desperately take your pain away, he wish he could trade spots and take all the damage instead. But as he sat there staring down at you for what seemed like an hour, he was afraid of losing you and afraid that you were slowly slipping away from his grasp.
He thought about comforting you, would that even be a safe option? He thought. You flinched at his slight touches and he didn’t want you to become afraid of him, he loved you more than anything.
He decided to scoot closer to you, carefully kissing the back of your head and rested his hand on a safe part of your upper arm, making you tense underneath his touch.
“Look, I know what you went through was traumatic.. believe me but please don’t push me away, I can’t lose you.” He said softly, making your eyes water instantly from the flashbacks that flooded your head, every slap, kick, punch, everything.
“Levi,”
“I just want you to be able to talk to me, you’re not alone, at all.”
“I know.” You simply said, not knowing what else to really say about the situation. You were beaten senseless, out of pure hatred, it changed you.
You decided to gently turn over to face him, scrunching up your nose at the pain that followed as you moved. Your eyes looked at his, your bruised face had made his heart hurt more than he could explain.
As you two sat there staring at one another, you carefully brought your weak hand up to caress his cheek and rubbed your thumb over his skin slowly.
He leaned his face more into your hand, the most affection he has gotten out of you and even then, you hesitated, you wanted to pull away. You didn’t want to be touched, talked to, you wanted to be left alone but you had to think about Levi’s feelings too and what he did for you.
“Thank you, for everything.” You mumbled, making his eyes instantly move to look at yours with a hint of hope in them.
“No need to thank me.”
“But I want to, for cleaning me up and trying to support me.. can I be honest with you?”
“Of course.”
You sat there for a moment, trying to think of a better way to put everything and you sighed, your lips pressing into a thin line and even that had made the pain shoot through your busted lips.
“I just- I’m not comfortable speaking about the details but what I will say is, I’m not the same.”
“Ive noticed.” He whispered, moving his hand to brush the strands of your hair back from your face and he gave you a weak smile.
“No matter what, Y/N, I’m here.. to love you, to take care of you, all of it. You’re not getting rid of me so easily.” This time you cracked a smile, squishing his cheeks playfully as you leaned over to press a quick kiss to his lips but even that caused you pain in your body.
“I love you, Lev.”
.
.
.
Soooo idk whether to make a part 2
But if I was, I was thinking of the reader going crazy from the traumatic experiences and even going as far as to killing the guards in cold blood— no one knowing who did it except Levi. Blah blah.
Tell me what you think
Also this one is longer and I’m actually glad and proud how it turned out. So this is why I wanna start pacing myself, it turns out better that way❤️ but my requests are ALWAYSSSSS open, just be patient with me. Mwah. Ps, if you read all that, I love you.

Thank you for the ask anon!
Ask and you shall receive.
Title: Omissions
Summary:
“Erwin first suspected that there was something going on between the squad leader and the captain during one of their strategy meetings. It was in the greetings and farewells they exchanged as fellow soldiers."
The development of Levi and Hange's relationship from Commander Erwin’s POV
Written for @levihanweek  Angstober 2020. Prompt: Greetings and Farewells
Link to cross-postings: AO3
Notes: This was originally written for  Levihanangstober 2020 for the prompt, "Greetings and Farewells" I was just generally unsatisfied with how it turned out so I decided to write "free spot" instead. Since this paled in comparison, I kinda had this idea that it was horrible. But reading it again now, it wasn't bad per se. In fact, I had fun looking back at this fic.
Thank you to the anon for that request. That got me the courage at least to reopen this file.
Erwin first suspected that there was something going on between the squad leader and the captain during one of their strategy meetings.
It was in the greetings and farewells they exchanged as fellow soldiers.
Or their lack of it at least. Erwin thought to himself as he watched the two make their way out of the office and into the hallway together.
The meetings usually ended at nine in the evening. With physical drills awaiting them early the next morning, officers usually went straight to their rooms. Although his room was more accessible to the corridor on the right, Levi always accompanied Hange as the latter exited through the left.
Erwin had discounted it the few times to survey corps business between the two, maybe training, maybe collaborations. Hange would want to test different weapons on titans or secure samples out in the field and to prevent unnecessary deaths, it was only natural she would coordinate with Levi to help secure her projects.
Erwin started to watch their dynamics more closely when he noticed that their leaving meetings together had become routine. Having spent a fair share of his younger years hanging out in bars with Nile and dating women, he was confident he could pick out a developing relationship if it bloomed right in front of him.
The pattern was there. Erwin just had to press the right buttons.
The next meeting, Erwin took note of the body language of the two as he summarized the agenda towards the end of the meeting. That was usually the point where everyone started tidying up their paperwork and sat up straight, ready to leave.
While Hange had also started to pick up her paperwork, Erwin could not help but notice that she had snuck a glance at Levi more than once.
"Levi. Stay behind."
"Sure." Levi was quick to reply, his tone as neutral as it always was.
Erwin kept his eyes trained on Hange. If he had not been purposefully observing her, he probably would not have caught it. For a second Hange had looked surprised but a little panicked at the sudden order he made.
He needed to probe more to be sure. That night, he drilled Levi for updates on his squad so as not to raise suspicion for having made him stay in the first place.
The meeting after that when Erwin ordered the same thing to Hange, Levi had briefly glanced at the brunette before looking back again at his paperwork, his expression unchanged. Levi's reaction was more subtle but Erwin had worked with the captain long enough to know that any reaction from someone as stoic as him was big news.
He drilled Hange on any developments with her research. They were already starting to plan their next expedition so it was only natural that he would want to talk to the logistics leader.
"There's this new test I wanted to try. We've already proven that titans use their sight often with hunting. I want to get more information on their hearing and maybe create a sound grenade." Hange explained.
"Have you tried collaborating with Levi?" Erwin suggested. It was an unnecessary suggestion Levi had become valuable to Hange's research already. With his fighting skills, he was easily able to secure areas outside the wall, and had prevented unnecessary deaths during her previous research activities.
"I've been working with Levi lately actually. There were so many things I wanted to try out so I have been bothering him a lot. I haven't told you about it?" Hange gave Erwin a sheepish grin.
Erwin noticed a slight blush but at that point wondered if it was just excitement and maybe slight embarrassment at failing to properly report her progress to him. "Just do what you need to do to keep your department running." He said. "If Levi is free and you need someone to accompany you, I don't mind you asking him for help."
"Yes sir." Hange looked more relaxed.
Erwin started to think that he could be wrong about a relationship blooming between them. He had seen Hange blush the same way when she enthused about titans and research. He had never seen Levi blush though and wondered if he did at all.
Hange and Levi had similar goals and may have just decided to work closely to achieve them, they were aberrant humans, their personalities at complete ends of the spectrum, coincidentally working towards similar goals. Erwin eventually realized that his experience with relationships did not cover those eccentric enough at least to join a group with mortality rates as high as that of the survey corps. He was the only one from his own group of friends among the cadets who had joined the survey corps after all. He conceded that with what he knew then, he could not assume the status of their relationship.
"Hange," Erwin started as the brunette made her way to the door. "Remember, the preservation of humanity should always be your ultimate goal of your research. You made that oath when you joined the survey corps. Don't lose sight of it."
Just in case his first suspicion was correct.
                                     Omissions
He might have been thinking too far with what he suspected. The inkling that something might still be there remained. To placate it when he could though, Erwin decided at least to try for some extra assurance.
That night he took the corridor to the left on the way back to his room. It circled the whole camp so it meant an extra ten minutes to get to his room.
Why would Hange and Levi take that extra ten minutes to their room? Unless there was some place they would want to visit after meetings.
It was easy to deduce after that train of thought that the only place worth staying in after dark was the dining hall.
He was proven right when he neared the dining hall and heard the distinct voice of one Hange Zoe. He could not make out what she was talking about as he stood outside but he could make out her voice, her tone and a distinct softness he had not heard before. Hange was generally an emotional person and she spoke to her subordinates with a unique tone that exudes both authority and gentleness.
At that moment though, talking privately to Levi, her tone was much softer and warmer. It was not the tone anyone would expect from a soldier.
"Knowing you four eyes, you'd fuck it all up…" Levi's voice seemed more relaxed.
A change in tone when talking to someone one's attracted to was evidence in itself of a possibly blooming relationship. Given their eccentric personalities though, Erwin was not satisfied.
Erwin entered the dining hall. "You too, what are you doing out so late at night?"
Before Erwin could even catch their expressions, both faces had morphed into that of complete astonishment at the sudden entrance of their commander.
"Commander Erwin…" Hange's eyes widened in surprise.
"It isn't healthy to stay up this late," he lectured as he approached the table they occupied towards the corner of the room.
"We don't sleep much anyway." Levi answered as he took a sip of tea.
"Talking about new developments?" Erwin asked, keeping his eyes focused on their expressions.
Levi's expression as usual, was unchanging.
Hange on the other hand, grinned at Erwin excitedly. "He agreed to test the sound bomb with me outside the walls. I was about to explain to him how I created it actually."
Erwin sat down on a chair next to them. "If you don't mind me here, I'd like to listen too."
If there was something going on between them, they probably would have at least looked a little disappointed to have a third wheel hanging around. Erwin surprisingly felt welcomed as Levi moved a little to the side to give Erwin leg room and Hange continued on to her tirade on her new invention.
Erwin started to see that it was in the way they talked, and the way they peppered the conversation with their personality. Hange would sometimes briefly digress from the main topic to rave about miniscule details and Levi noticeably made more vulgar jokes in between. Their shift in their tones towards each other did not change even as Erwin joined them.
As they exchanged ideas, Erwin saw that their expressions were very much consistent with their shifts in tone. Hange's eyes were somehow brighter as she enthused about her inventions and Levi somehow lost his almost perpetual sullen manner as he responded to her.
Back when he was dating, Erwin had felt self conscious about those small details when talking to Marie. He had always tried to remain stoic while with Marie to preserve the peace between him and his friend.
Those two did not seem self conscious at all to be showing this side of themselves to Erwin.
"You two talk like a married couple." Erwin commented.
They both turned to Erwin, looking genuinely surprised at his comment. A few moments later, their faces turned pink at the realization of what he just said.
At least we know they can be self conscious.
Knowing their personalities, Erwin realized he shouldn't have been surprised if they did not notice it. They did not look like the types to just jump into a relationship or even know how it usually develops in the first place.
Erwin just nodded in fake agreement as he listened to the pair scrambling for a justification for their too friendly exchanges. The latter was too busy fitting the pieces together to even make sense of it.
There was something going on between them. They just didn't know it yet.
                                      Omissions
Erwin had let that complicated relationship between the two parties continue as it did prove to come with its own results.
The researches of Hange were done efficiently with little to no unnecessary deaths in the process. While working together, the two had reported success in the invention of the flash bomb, the sound grenade and further improvements to the gun used for scouting formations.
While it did develop, Erwin started to worry. The reason he had broken up with Marie in the first place is because he also knew that love could be a distraction. At that point in time, it proved to have been an inspiration for both of them.
What would happen if they figure out their feelings for each other? If they do get together?
In his many years in the survey corps, Erwin had not seen any relationship end well since most anyone who had fallen in love within the survey corps, had their vision clouded at one point and ended up dead.
The saving grace came in the fact that both soldiers were just too dense to figure it out for themselves and had attributed the passion and exhilaration that came with being together to a passion for their jobs.
Erwin thought it better to keep it that way. For the betterment of the survey corps.
He could not risk losing his two best soldiers.
Fortunately for Erwin, within a few years, the establishment of the Special Operations Squad, Hange and Levi continued to find more reason to work together. With the survey corps constantly developing and constantly on the move though, the two never did probe further into that bond between them.
Erwin still continued to keep close tabs with them, enlisting the help of Mike.
With Hange's new resolve to capture a titan came new developments to their relationship beyond their hanging out together until the wee hours of morning.
As Hange started to push her agenda for capturing titans, she started to become more reckless. Erwin did not know at first whether that may have been from the actual excitement or a development. When Levi initially vocalized his rejection during their meetings, looking to have his squad's safety in mind, Erwin suspected the former.
One expedition, Hange rushed to the forest to chase an aberrant. Erwin had confidence in her ability to stay alive but had ordered Levi to chase after her. The latter was already on his horse when Erwin turned to him.
He wondered if he should have let Mike go instead, when they came back with a journal and Levi's sudden 180. The journal proved to be a breakthrough of a discovery and with two of his most trusted officers pushing for the agenda, he ended up approving it anyway.
How had she convinced Levi to help her capture a titan?
During the capture mission, there were no casualties so he could rest easy, knowing that they were at least still thinking straight.
Either way, the possibility of their relationship deepening continued to weigh on Erwin's mind.
In the case that they did start to suspect, would he let it happen? Or would he try to stop it?
They had become two of his closest friends over the years and as someone close to them, he felt it was his duty to at least nudge them in the right direction. His duty as commander protested this sentiment and in the end, he chose to err on the side of omission. If they did get together, he could at least convince himself that he had been busy with other things.
After the assault at Trost, Hange had busied herself with her new captured titans while Levi took custody of their newfound titan shifter Eren in the old scout headquarters.
A few days before their 57th expedition, Erwin called Moblit in for a quick report on the squad leaders movements, feigning worry over the Hange's sleeping schedule.
Moblit reported that Hange had visited the quarters a few times to experiment on Eren. Of course Hange would have been interested in the titan shifter. As the assistant reported to the commander, he did not look like he suspected anything at all.
Valid reasons at least.
The night the new captured titans were found dead, Erwin in between preparing for the 57th expedition in barracks and pondering the culprit, found Levi along the corridors of the barracks.
The scouting headquarters was at least a few hours ride away from the barracks.
"How's Eren?" Erwin asked. What are you doing here?
"Eren is in the basement of the old castle now so he wouldn't give my squad too hard of a time if he transforms."
"Tell Hange we're meeting tomorrow night in my office. I need to share something about the next expedition."
"WIll do."
As Erwin watched Levi make his way to the corridors to what he was sure was Hange's room, he could not help but note that Levi was not at all defending his effort or his motivations for visiting the barracks for the night.
Erwin felt his heart constrict and allowed himself to express some empathy for the two as soon as he got into his office. He sat on his chair, looked up at the blank ceiling of his empty office and closed his eyes.
Do you really not see it? He let out a painful sigh.
                                          Omissions
The night after the 57th expedition, having sustained multiple losses, he knew he would be facing trial at the capital. They had discussed the certainty of Annie being the female titan but by then, Erwin was considering the possibility that they could be wrong, and the survey corps could get dissolved.
After that, Hange helped an injured Levi to an empty meeting room, most likely to tend to his wounds and console the captain after he had lost his whole squad.
He did not know what happened between them in the room. Levi though, was due to accompany him to the capital. When he came out of the headquarters and into the carriage with a dinner jacket a few sizes too big for him, Erwin knew something was up.
"That's Hange's jacket."
"She lent it to me."
He did not question any further. There were far more important problems to consider than the relationship between his two soldiers. He distracted himself by furtively observing the body language of Levi. As they got closer to the capital where they were to stand trial, the captain held the dinner jacket closer to himself.
Seeking her warmth? Erwin thought. That unfunny joke was mostly for himself. Somehow he knew, that would be the last time he'd have time to think about them for a while.
The capture of the three titan shifters and the impending coup d'etat kept Erwin busy. Too busy to even consider the possibly blooming relationship of the two.
It was only after losing his arm and ending up out of commission did he have time to think about them again.
Especially with Hange as the new commander. As he lay in bed that one night, he allowed himself a few seconds to wonder what Hange's appointment as commander could mean for their relationship. A few times since then, he had considered telling them. His inclination to keep the future commander focused won over.
With the crowning of the new queen and the operation to take back Wall Maria nearing, Erwin was sure there were soldiers who would not make it back. Hange and Levi were no exceptions.
After he had brought that reality up in their meeting and after Levi had confronted him on his own intentions to join the operation, the next few times he saw Levi, the latter was with Hange.
Erwin noticed that they had watched each other's backs as they arrived on the wall at Shiganshina. As Erwin assigned Hange and Levi's squad to the armored and colossal titan  and Levi to take care of the horses, he snuck a glance at Levi and Hange who had given each other one last look before separating. From his angle, he could only see Hange's face.
A face that made his lip quiver and his stomach drop. A face of painful surrender.
                                               Omissions
"What happened to Hange?"
When Levi asked that in the middle of the already bloody battlefield, Erwin felt his chest constrict. He scolded himself a few seconds later for having even taken up valuable mind space to consider their relationship.
Erwin looked to Levi, keeping his face expressionless. "I don't know."
She was most probably dead. No one could have survived the explosion and Erwin had felt a small twinge of guilt at having assigned Hange there in the first place.
Levi was an important piece in the battlefield though and as commander, one of his priorities was to keep Levi on his feet. If it meant lying, then so be it.
                                           Omissions
Dedicate your hearts. Death came in slow motion.
It gave him enough time to come to terms with the reality of the war and his own decisions. He himself had thrown out his humanity, his relationships and his worldly attachments for the knowledge and the freedom he had promised his father he would attain.
For a second, he considered as well the other soldiers who would be following the same path. And the one soldier who would be filling his shoes soon enough.
Hange.
And by extension, that one soldier that had been joined to her hip since day one, despite their being on different squads.
Hange and Levi had made that same salute countless times, further proving their dedication through the years they had spent working under him. He couldn’t help but think the vague relationship the two had set up for themselves had brought forth all the developments to make the take back of Wall Maria possible. It could have also been the other way around.
Nagging regret had clung to his chest despite having pushed his thoughts elsewhere.
Had he really done it on purpose? Was it a conscious decision on his end to have kept the two from even understanding the inkling of a relationship between them? The inkling of a feeling, a sense of trust that dug deeper than a close friendship?
Did you do it for the right reasons? He allowed himself a glance at Levi who was starting to cut at the titans at the wings of the beast titan. His thoughts shifted there. Would Levi have been able to manage this feat if he had known?
It was a hypothetical and Erwin was sure he would never know. As the rocks sailed towards him, Erwin set aside all regrets, all the thoughts that had left him almost tempted to turn back.
Victory for humanity. He let those words echo in his head and overpower his laments and regrets.
Victory for humanity. In the end, that’s all that matters.

Hi! Could request a HC about an Mc that just latches themself onto the brothers legs and just sits there, won't let go?
wahh~ my first request ꒰´꒳`꒱ here i go! it was kinda hard to write, but still fun lol
warnings: none
✄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
Lucifer
it happened the first time while lucifer was once again locked inside his office, buried under stacks of paper work
you had come in without a word and he hadn’t said anything as well, being used to you joining him quietly
but what he didn’t expect was the way you had suddenly crawled under his desk and latched onto his leg
thought about something dirty at first, but didn’t let it show on his face
"(y/n) ... ?"
nonetheless to say, he was confused
tried to gently shake you off, but you didn’t budge
lucifer gave up after a few more shakes and returned to his paperwork, letting you do what you wanted and deciding to ask you later about it
later meaning, the next day
your answer was that you just liked doing it and that there was no specific reason
he couldn’t understand you, but he accepted it
when the brothers would ask why he let you do that, he would just smirk at them
there was something oddly cute and thrilling about seeing you at his feet, holding onto him tightly
Mammon
"What the fuck?"
those were the first words he let out when you suddenly clung to his leg while he had been counting the few grimms he had
dark blush
"WHAT THE FUCK?"
paranoid that you‘ll try to pull something funny
tries to shake you off, but you don’t let go
shakes harder, but you still don’t let go
eventually he just sighs and let‘s you be
he doesn’t understand you at all and just writes it off as some weird kink when you say that you simply like it
but he enjoys the attention
even if it was weird
he means, who wouldn’t love to be at the feet of the great Mammon?
don’t listen to his complains he actually loves it
at one point he starts stroking your head every time you do it
*insert worried glances by everyone else*
Leviathan
the first time probably happened while he was gaming
he didn’t even hear you coming in, until you were suddenly at his feet and clinging to his leg
screamed and nearly passed out
about to hit you with the controller, but stops himself when he realizes it‘s you
blushes in a matter of seconds
tries to shake you off, unintentionally harshly, but you don’t let go
"is this some kind of weird stuff normies like?"
after 10 minutes of struggling he gives up and posts about it instead
when he asks you why, you just shrug and he stares at you for a few seconds, before going back to his game
he just let’s you do it, thinking that if you like it, then it‘s okay
he actually kind of likes it, but won’t admit it
probably the most unbothered out of the brothers since he doesn’t move that much anyway
Satan
stared at you for literally three minutes when you suddenly grasped his leg while he was reading
can‘t understand what‘s happening
"what are you doing??"
he is SO confused
did humans normally do this? he hadn’t read about any human behaviour like that in his books
when you say that you just like it, he calmes down a little
a little
still confused every time you do it
you’re like a certain problem on a test he can’t solve, he can’t understand you
and he eventually gives up trying to understand
realized it‘s wasted energy and just accepted your weird way of physical affection, if he could call it that
he still hates the fact that he can’t understand it tho
starts reading to you in that position after a while
Asmodeus
he loves every kind of affection
e v e r y k i n d
had nasty thoughts when he saw how you kneeled down in front of him
but ended up just cooing at how cute you look
doesn’t even try to push you off
he will try to get you up to him so you can cuddle, but you decline and he pouts
he still loves it tho, very much
expect some perverted comments
uses the position to play with your hair or style it
sometimes you‘d fall asleep against his leg only to wake up with a new hairstyle every time
the second chillest after levi
will make you go shopping with him as a return
Beelzebub
he is in the common room eating some snacks when you sudde come and sit on the ground before him, grasping his leg
just ... stares
what are you trying to do?
"i won‘t give you my food, even if you kneel and beg for it"
you just laugh and tell him that you don’t want his food, but just like staying likt this
he is worried
but he doesn’t say anything and let‘s you be
while he doesn’t mind it, it makes him restless
because it‘s kinds hard to get to the kitchen for some snacks when you’re clinging to his leg like this
he thinks at first, but finds out that it actually pretty easy to walk even if you cling to him
after a while he doesn’t even notice you there anymore
his brothers laugh every time he walks by them with you clinging to his leg
you look like a small koala on a big tree
Belphegor
the one who hates it the most
"could you please stop, i can‘t sleep like that"
nearly kicked you off the bed the first time it happened if it wasn’t for your strength of clinging onto him
asks you why you won’t let go and you say that you like it
you say that he‘s the most comfortable
he doesn’t understand, but he wants you gone
tries to hide from you, but you always find him
after a while he just gives up and stops fighting back
gets used to sleeping like that, because he didn’t have any other choice
eventually grows soft and starts liking it
maybe, just maybe, he‘ll get so used to it that he can’t nap without you by his side

Drinking You/II
Tumblr media
Notes: Soooo....Here’s part 2..Thanx for the notes guyssss <3 ♥
Summary: You encounter a stranger on your way back from the grocery shop and everything about him pulls you in.
Pairings: Eren Yeager x Reader; Various pairings eventually
Warnings: NSFW(not today tho); mentions of smoking.
>
Part II
’’Kid….Am I not interesting enough for your small, forgetful brain?’’ asked Levi from his desk, his grey eyes expressing the dissatisfaction he had about your mistake.
THE FILE. The Eren Yeager file. The file he stole from your bag after he finished...well...screwing you. To say that you were upset about the fact that you were used as a mere excuse for theft was an understatement. You were pissed as hell.
But your boss came first, as his death glare made you snap out of your one sided grudge with the memory of the charming terrorist you encountered. It was definitely wrong and probably a bad move but you couldn’t tell Levi what happened. So….you lied.
’’For the 27th time, I am so sorry that I ‘accidentally’ threw an important file into the shredder..I was cleaning my desk and I wasn’t paying attention.’’ you sounded honest but a little mechanical as you said the same excuse for awhile now.
Levi raised one of his brows at your nonchalance but sighed and said:
’’At least you didn't lose it. That would have been a big ass problem.’’
You clenched your fist behind your back. This was not ending well for you.
’’Please..I’m not that idiotic.’’ somehow your tone didn’t betray you but a small voice in your mind retorted immediately, ‘You are more than idiotic and you’re definetley screwed.’. You gulped.
A soft knock interrupted the beginning of your inner mental breakdown. Armin entered Levi’s office carrying a stack of files in one arm and holding what looked like a coffee cup in the other. He placed the files on Levi’s desk and handed him the cup. You suddenly blurted out your first thought.
’’But you don’t drink coffee.’’
Levi’s death glare almost made you take a step back. Well, maybe Eren Yeager took more than the file...he stole your brain too as you suddenly find yourself incapable of thinking. You want to slap a hand over your mouth. What the hell was wrong with you lately?
Armin watched you curiously for a moment. You feared his intuition, he was too sharp sometimes and that made you anxious in the current situation, but you tried to play it off anyway.
’’Ahem, yes, I heard it from Mrs. Zoe? Ha, am I wrong ?’’ you laughed awkwardly at the end of your sentence.
Armin shook his head, his short blonde hair hitting his face in the process. ’’That is right. As expected of you, Y/N, your mind always picks up the smallest details. The Captain drinks tea. I got a few extra cups to go, just 10 minutes ago. You can help yourself from the kitchen...Though I’m pretty sure you love coffee more.’’ he said while giving you a kind, small smile. You smiled back trying not to break eye contact.
‘You might be my best friend’s soulmate.’
You cringed internally. Not because you didn't find Armin attractive, because you thought the boy could even model if he wanted to, but because of what happened later after Eren said that phrase. You shook your head trying to banish the image of a long haired, 6ft man on top of your naked body. ‘Not the time, not the time.’
You wondered what Armin would think about the fact that you got to meet his best friend before he did. As you found out today, turns out they have not met in more than a year. You felt guilty for keeping your mouth shut. But it seemed like the best course of action. You needed to act solo for a while.
In a safe way, of course.
Levi motioned for Armin to leave but as he got closer to the door you saw his eyes discreetly peering at your neck and then at your face. Your hair was covering most of your hickeys but Armin might have noticed something anyway.
Once he left the room, Levi got up from his seat and approached the window.
He was wearing a plain white dress shirt and black pants with a pair of dark brown leather shoes. He was not going on the field today, you could tell that much because of his outfit. He was in his thirties now but his looks still caused many casualties between the female officers, especially the MPs who were more than enthusiastic when Levi passed them by. He was one of the best at his job and his handsome face was obviously a bonus.
You always said it was the mix between his good looks and his cold attitude that was pulling people in, but he was far from an unfeeling person. He usually cared too much about everything. Seeming distant was just his way of preserving himself. People were impressed just by hearing stories about him. But most of them had no idea how much he suffered. You knew. Not that he liked that. He never liked the fact that fate seemed to always make you meet again and again.
The first time, as his student when he was teaching in highschool. The second time as his blind date, Hange’s courtesy. The third time as the new member of his team, fate’s courtesy this time.
Each time you look at him you remember how selfish you’ve always been. You hate the thought but you know and can’t deny the fact that one way or another you always became a burden for the man sitting right across you. Right from the start.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- ’’Sir, is she worth it?’’ an eighteen years old you asked a younger Levi who was just exiting through the school’s gates. As he whipped his head back to match the voice to the person, his stern look softened just a bit. It was late and you were supposed to be home long ago. Instead you were only leaving now, a bag full of books in your right hand. You always stayed in the library until the school closed. You didn’t want to go home anyway.
’’That’s not an ideal question to ask about your sister, is it, brat?’’
You started laughing. He knew better than to refer to his fiance as your sister. You hated the bitch and there was no bond whatsoever between the two of you. She was just the awful daughter of the amazing woman who took you in after your parents kicked you out.
’’Can you give me a ride home, sir? I am afraid my frail arms are unable to carry these books until I reach the nearest bus stop.’’ you said in a dramatic tone while Levi just massaged his temples out of frustration but made a gesture towards his car anyway.
You smiled at him as you entered the car. He was driving in silence, without any radio music in the background, without any small talk. You wanted to tell him so many things, you wanted to express your indignation regarding the fact that your ‘sister’ was cheating on him and using him as an alibi so her mother won’t ever suspect she’s dating one of the biggest drug dealers in the region, you wanted to complain about the fact that he wasted his good heart on someone who wronged him before, you wanted to ask him why was he clinging to unhappiness so desperately. You could never understand. Even as you watched as the road light travelled on his face while he drove, you could only think about how well he managed to hide his pain. People didn’t notice that he was alone most of the time. Or that he rarely smiled.
It made you sad, it made you think of a part of yourself. Except you constantly fought for your right at happiness even if sadness never left your side. No matter how annoying that made you, you still kept going. But he didn’t even seem like he tried. He looked like the loneliest person on earth and he hid it so well that if you said what you thought out loud, people would just think you're looking into it too much.
You reached your house and his car stopped. Somehow, only now you noticed the pleasant smell inside the car. It smelled like fruity tea-bags which you assumed came from a spare ’stash’ he had somewhere around. You smiled. He always drinks tea during the breaks. It makes him look so refined too. Without any intention you giggled. He noticed and raised a brow, asking:
’’What makes you so happy that you’re hesitating to get out of my car? Hm? Move it, you didn’t even had dinner yet.’’
You turned your whole body towards him while you spoke in an excited manner.
’’I was thinking about you, sir. The way you enjoy your tea during breaks and how that’s the most happy I saw you since I came to this school.’’
With a confused look on his face he tilted his head but let you speak nonetheless. Your voice became softer while you looked down, your hair falling over your face.
’’You see, I believe that happiness can only come from being honest with yourself. Lie to the world, lie to people but if you lie to yourself you’ll just tint your soul to the point even the tea you love so much won’t taste the same anymore.’’
Levi’s eyes widened slightly. He knew you were outspoken and that sometimes you caused trouble because you meddled in things that were none of your business and you spoke way too much but he couldn’t deny the way you arranged your words. He knew you had a kind heart and that you were trying to reach his. He almost wanted to smile. ‘Stupid kid.’
He didn't say anything as you exited the car but watched you until you entered the house. You were right, he knew he was cheated on, he knew he was used but there was another side to his truth too. He used the idea of a fiance to run away from both his past and future.
But looking at you who had nothing but wanted everything, he thought that maybe, just maybe...he became a coward. And he always hated cowards.
As you watched him drive away, that was the last time you met him as a teacher, as he would lose his job in two weeks due to murder acusations regarding his fiance. Your ‘sister’.
You’d hear from your classmates how a tall, blonde detective cuffed him in front of the whole school while he put up a fight.
Then he would be gone and you wouldn't hear anything about him for a few years. -------------------------------------------------
’’So, care to explain why you are so distracted today?’’ he was gazing outside the window but you couldn’t help notice the way his voice was softer now that you were alone again.
’’I was unable to rest well last night, however you don’t need to worry, sir. I’ll snap back as soon as I drink some coffee, just as Armin suggested.’’
Another lie. You actually slept like a baby because you were so exhausted. The bed felt so warm and the man next to you smelt so good that you felt like you were floating. Only your dumb ass could sleep so relaxed next to a criminal.
You pondered before asking the next question.
’’What type of person used to be.....Eren Yeager?’’
His name sounded so different from your mouth or maybe that was your own perception. You recognised a little stinginess in your tone.
You pulled out your phone and started a voice recording. You were allowed to do so when it came to declarations. You were a profiler afterall. You needed to go over conversations and details, multiple times to complete your work.
Levi turned away from the window and took a few steps closer to you. His expression looked indifferent but you knew better. There was regret mixed in his feelings.
’’That brat wasn’t the most talented nor the smartest agent around, I actually often thought he was more of an idiot than most people I knew..’’
You stopped yourself from laughing. ’Unprofessional...Don’t do it. Let him continue.’
’’He was too much of a hot head for his own good but he listened to my orders and tried to look at things from a more mature perspective, perhaps we might have asked too much from him. Our department was in trouble and we lost more people than you could count, in a very short amount of time. We had an operation that lasted for more than 2 years. Eren was the key to that operation. Everything circled around him. We wanted to find answers so badly, we sacrificed so much that we never saw the fact that we had spies among us and the whole operation became more than a national issue. You said you read the file before you shredded it, right? I also mentioned it in the meeting before. You know what’s the issue I’m talking about, right?’’
Your breathing becomes more alert and a bitter feeling takes over your heart. Memories from your distant childhood try to resurface but you push them away. The past always catches up.
Your voice becomes more serious when you answer.
’’After 14 years of peace we might have another war with the neighbour nation, Marley, is that right?’
Silence fills the room as Levi only nods. He seems lost in his own mind for a while and you can only guess what he might be thinking about. He was a soldier back then and this whole deal pissed him off.
’’Eren betrayed us. No warning, just a vague explanation. He almost wiped out their whole capital, one of the biggest cities in Marley, he killed VERY important people and now we are threatened left and right. This dumbass is very close to starting the biggest international conflict this country ever faced. Can’t believe that brat had the nerve to come back and now he’s under our jurisdiction again. We have to catch him and fast. Everyone you’ll ask will say he changed, but I always knew he had it in him. He might just destroy the world...no one can cage him. He’s that type of monster.’’
Your body suddenly felt numb, a weird sense of fear trying to take over you. His face, his expressions, everything flashed in your mind repeatedly, pieces of the conversation you had, the way he touched you, the note he left. For the first time in a very long time, you felt lost in translation.
Things were not adding up. Someone was wrong here. Something was definitely missing. You paused the recording and exhaled while rubbing your temples.
’’This should not be handled by a departament full of people that know him. Someone must really want to bury the Survey unit in shit.’’
A humourless laugh escaped your mouth.
’’Sorry Levi, you always hated when I cursed. Forgot about that.’’  you said, a sad look plastered on your face remembering many of the arguments you two had mostly because of you.
He frowned and took another step closer to you, unconsciously wanting to pat your head but you were already heading for the door. He snapped out of it and looked at his hand. He got carried away for a second, wanting to comfort you.
’’I guess you’ll always have a soft spot for me, sir...but we shouldn’t be very comfortable around each other. You were always the better man and I was always the wicked little girl.’’
’’L/N..’’
You exited his office. ‘Unfortunately, I’m still the same.’ you thought while walking to your desk and getting ready to work on the details of some cases that became piled up in the last week.
As you sat down and flipped through various lists of criminals, you tried to silence your mind. Sometimes your mental state was just like a furious sea storm. You have the tendency to drown in your own dark and poisonous thoughts until your identity becomes foggy. But work was a great distraction and thankfully...you sure had plenty of it. So you rolled up your sleeves, took a sip of the coffee Armin put on your desk (somehow the fact that he did sweet gestures like this made you very warm inside) and started working on your reports ignoring intentionally a certain criminal whose face you really didn’t wanna see again today, not on a screen, not printed...you'll deal with the Yeager case at home. You had to catch up on your work anyway.
Right? You weren’t running away or anything...right?
People around you became colorful shadows that moved around exiting or entering the headquarters while you were scribbling furiously details about different cases. When your phone rang, an hour before the end of your shift, you almost jumped out of your chair. You looked around and realised everyone was out and you were the only one left. Probably investigating, or some kind of emergency.
On the screen of your phone Jean’s face was popping up with the incoming call. When he first gave you his contact number he took a selfie of himself because he thought he looked ‘cool’ in that moment and you ‘had to have his handsomeness on your phone’, his words not yours. You rolled your eyes at the memory.
’’ ‘Sup Kirschtein? I’m busy and I swear to God if you call me ‘cause you're bored while being on some stakeout I will…’’ He burst into laughter and answered: ’’Calm down Y/N, I only did that like five or six times and you might’ve even liked it, don’t lie to me now.’’ he said in a charming yet joking voice and you couldn’t help but smile. He was one of the people who could easily put you in a good mood. ’’Wanna get out to get some ‘’fresh air’’ on the roof? It turns out we sorted out what we had to do sooner than expected….well sooner than I thought. That damn Floch will kill me one day...His attitude might just get us both killed.’’
Of course he wanted to smoke and complain about his partner, Floch. Jean didn’t seem like the type to think a lot, especially when you first got to meet him. He’s loud, a little bit of a bragger and has lots of opinions on anything but he was an exceptionally capable man in times of crises. You witnessed that a few times but you also heard it from Sasha: ’’Marco, Jean’s ex-partner, always said that Jean was the one most capable of leading us out of trouble and Marco’s intuition about people was as good as my instincts about danger. He knew what he was saying.’’
When you reached the roof, Jean was already smoking while looking at the red sky. The sun was almost gone. He looked lost in thought, barely noticing you until he heard the sound of your lighter. You took a long puff and exhaled. For some reason you felt exhausted and even if the silence somehow pleased you, it felt unlike Jean. He always liked to talk a lot around you, your smoking breaks being full of gossiping. It was almost always the two of you, given the fact that you and him were the only smokers in the department. You had a hunch that Armin smoked too but only when he was truly bothered by something, Connie tried it once and said he liked it but you knew he lied, Sasha said she didn't like the taste(did not surprise you at all there) and Mikasa thought it was stupid and unhealthy and you honestly agreed.
’’Why do you smoke, Jean?’’ you asked out of the blue. You realised you never asked him that. For some reason the image of Eren staring at you while holding his pack of cigarettes in one hand flashed in your mind. You took another inhale of smoke trying to push the image away. Jean didn’t respond immediately but when his eyes fixed on the cigarette he was holding.
’’Marco used to smoke here. It was so unlike him. He really didn’t seem like the type and he tried to hide it all the time...he was even carrying perfume around.’’ he said and let out a short bitter laugh. For some reason he placed a hand on his face trying to hide his expression. ’’I started smoking after he died. I guess..well fuck...I miss being with my friend. When I’m holding this cigarette it feels as if he’s still here. As if I could …’’ he hesitated before continuing,’’....ask him for advice about what I should do..’’
You got closer to him and bumped your shoulder into his in a friendly manner. He dropped his hand from his face and looked at you. You could see he was emotionally drained but you flashed him a cheerful smile even though you felt like shit as well. You looked up at the now, darker sky and said in a loud voice:
’’By smoking this cigarette I dare ask the amazing Marco Bott from heaven to lend me some of his wisdom. Please let me give our friend here a good answer to the question troubling his, not so young anymore, soul.’’
’’I’m only a year older than you, Y/N.’’ he said, his voice a little amused now. You rolled your eyes.
’’You’re an old soul, Jean. My shift will be over soon so spit it out...What’s bothering yo-’’
’’Did you study Eren’s file?’’ he asked out of the blue. You sighed and took another cigarette out and placed it in your mouth.
’’Not yet. Tonight I plan on looking over it. Why? Wanna tell me something about him that might help me in writing his profile?’’
Jean shook his head and took a puff out of his cigarette.
’’Once you look over it, after you read our statements  about him that are also included there, before writing any report, I want you to tell me something that might help me.’’ you raised a brow in confusion but he wasn’t looking at you anymore. He was staring straight ahead at the city covered in the red light of the sunset.
’’Who do you think will hesitate when shooting? Us or Eren ?’’
You ran a hand through your hair and looked at the city too. As the night approached, it suddenly looked more dangerous.
‘Who indeed…?’ . . . . . Before leaving you stopped by Hange’s office to drop some of the work you completed for the day. Moblit, her assistant, the guy who you knew for a fact was the only one besides Levi to be able to control your workaholic Director, was trying to force feed her some pizza while she insisted that she had to look over some DNA samples found at a random crime scene.
’’M’am, I know you worked in the lab for most of your life but now you should be dealing only with the work Erwin had to do when he had your position. He didn't try to be in ten places at once! Come on, eat this slice. You didn't eat all day! Do I really have to message Levi right now? You know he always gets pissed when you act like this.’’
When Hange noticed you at the door she took the opportunity and sprinted to the lab leaving a stressed Moblit behind who was still holding a pizza slice in his right hand staring at you in disbelief . Poor man. You placed your work on Hange’s desk and eyed Moblit and then the pizza. You smiled like a cunning, old, hungry dog.
’’I’ll call The Captain for you if you give me two slices of that pizza. Deal?’’ Moblit sighed. ’’Deal.’’
So there you were now, walking out of the building towards your car, while happily munching on your pizza slice. You planned on eating the other one at home, later, if you’d get hungry while working late. You entered your car and threw your stuff on the passenger seat. You started the engine and drove home while listening to the radio. Weirdly enough there was a radio podcast about astrology. You found it weird because this type of podcast would usually be broadcast in the morning. When you heard your zodiac sign being mentioned you couldn’t help but pay a little attention. You were curious afterall and maybe some luck was ahead of you. ’You never know.’
’’As I said John, the (your zodiac) sign should really be careful about what they say and do...The ruler of divine punishment, Jupiter seems to have entered a rare conjunction. The past is catching up to them and it looks like they can’t run away from certain confrontations anymore. It could be with someone else or maybe with themselves. Also, it would be especially good to avoid Fire Signs around this time for (your zodiac), as all three, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are chaos bringers in this Jupiter conjunction. So you heard me? Don’t try to dig into anything too much these days...You might just bury yourself.’’
You started laughing.
’’Pfft, yeah right... What a load of crap.’’ you said displeased as you turn off the radio.
You finally reach home. After you park and lock your car you enter your apartment building and as always you take the elevator, too lazy to drag your tired body on the stairs. You only think about soaking yourself in a warm bath as soon as possible. You might even use the new bubble bath stuff you got last week. ’Yeah, I think I will do just that. My body aches everywhere anyway, I need some relaxation.’
So immediately after you unlocked your door, you dropped your stuff, and went straight to the bathroom to turn on the warm water. Hell, you might’ve even skipped on the way as you were so happy to finally just have a moment of forgetting everything about anything and just indulge in the warmth and the nice smell of a warm bath.
So happy that you didn’t even bother to turn on the light in the living room.
Because if you did, you would have noticed Eren Yeager, sitting on your couch with a gun by his side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preview:
You looked at Eren. You looked at the gun. You looked at the gun. You looked at Eren.
There were many things you wanted to say in that moment but strangely enough a rather unusual question was bothering you more than anything.
’’You never mentioned your birthday,’’ you said not believing you were actually asking this out of all things, ’’not that you forgot to mention things like your name or the fact that you’re right now, probably the most wanted criminal in the...world ...ha ha ....but who keeps track, am I right?’’ you laughed nervously.
’’My birthday..?’’ he asked while watching you suspiciously but calm at the same time. ’’Why?’’
You kept your distance. Your position was stiff and you couldn’t help but be surprised that he was right in front of you. In your house ...again...in less than 24h. Why in Isayama’s name was he here?
’’Nothing important really...Just something silly.’’ again, you let out a nervous laugh. You were in trouble and you didn’t have your fucking gun on you and your phone was in the bag.
Eren let out a sigh and shook his head.
’’Hm, shouldn’t you, miss profiler, know that about me already?’’ He placed his hands behind his head and leaned deeper on one of the back pillows. His position was relaxed but something told you to not risk going for the gun. It might even be a trap anyway.
’’March, 30.’’ he surprisingly answered after a short silence.
‘March...Weren’t Pisces in March? Nah, this man ain’t no Pisces...Too unhinged...What’s next...Oh.’ you closed your eyes in frustration, ’... Aries.’
’’Great, freaking Fire Sign. Of course you are.'’
You weren’t sure if you should listen to that type of radio podcast more often or
never again.

who is here for a really bad and random high school au that is completely self indulgent yo
in which levi loses a bet with erwin and mike and is forced to audition for their school’s production of les misérables, he tries to mess up the audition but somehow he still sucks less than everyone so he ends up getting the part of marius??? and he can’t quit because it will influence negatively on his grades??? idk imagine levi reading the script without knowing shit about the play and reading all the cheesy lines for the first time and him hating every single thing about this situation until the first day of rehearsal where he meets the person who will play cosette, his weird schoolmate hanji who shares some classes with him who is always spending time in the school laboratory to do experiments and shit and oh. Oh.
at first dude wants to Scream because he just can’t bear the thought of acting like a booby who is madly in love (quoting old les mis memes from years ago here) with this wEiRdO who somehow has a pretty fucking amazing voice and wow maybe this weirdo,,,,, isn’t a bad weirdo. how bizzarre
Maybe just maybe as the days go by they start spending time together because hey! Looks like they are polar opposites but at the same time they have SO! MANY! things in common!!! and they eventually use rehearsing as an excuse to spend even more time together! and they bond over the fact that they’re supposed to play characters who are SO distant and different from how they are irl and levi finds out that hanji tried to audition as a joke but got the part bc she can actually S I N G like an angel and has a really solid head voice and range despite being a mezzo and cosette needing a soprano bc her parents forced her to take lessons, while levi despite having a decent singing voice actually had to have the songs lowered a lil bc bby is a baritone in a tenor role and has never had lessons and can’t support all the notes but fear not! Hanji offers to teach him some tips and tricks and whoops now they’re spending even more time together
And maybe just maybe it becomes easier for levi to sing “in my life she has burst like the music of angels, the light of the sun, and my life seems to stop as if something is over and something has scarcely begun”, maybe it comes natural for levi to stutter his line in “a heart full of love, a heart full of song, i’m doing everything all wrong” because?? he is looking right at hanji’s really pretty brown eyes and he can’t concentrate?? and he hates feeling like this lmaooo like sweaty palms butterflies fast heartbeat,,,,, boi is in love and he doesn’t realize it he just thinks he’s constipated
anyway let’s spice shit up and add erwin to the mix! erwin knows hanji, they’re childhood friends and they actually met through their singing lessons, the dude who was going to play enjolras gets idk chicken pox and the director is frantically looking for a substitute, levi wants to get back at erwin for making him audition in the first place (it’s all in good faith tho it’s a joke and they’re best friends dw he just wants to have a lil revenge) and suggests erwin, not knowing that he and hanji know each other and that he actually has been trained in singing so yeah erwin gets called for a last-minute audition and dude SMASHES it the director’s crying tears of joy they found their authentic tall hot blonde enjolras who looks like he’d be a great commander and people would die for him (;DDDDD) and during rehearsal levi finds erwin and hanji chatting like old friends!! and dude’s like wtf do u know each other??? and hanji says hell yes we studied together since we were children :D and just because i am huge huge erumike trash lemme say that mike got a lil part bc they needed ensemble members and he got to play grantaire so yeah enjoy both e/R and erumike there we go erwin gets to act with his boyfriend!! and they both watch levi and hanji during rehearsal and see how they obviously pine for each other but are far too oblivious for their own good so they decide here and there that they must get those two together bc it’s exHAUSTING to watch them stare lovingly into each other’s eyes and hold hands and kiss and then brush it off saying “it’s just acting we literally have to play a couple”
anyway the day of the show is here ladies and gentlemen levi is nervous af but doesn’t show it, he has to act like a lovesick fool in front of the whole school, the students, the teachers, the parents, EVERYONE and oh my god i hate it here might become his gratuation quote but all he needs is hanji backstage who squeezes his hand and whispers “can’t wait for you to sweep me off my feet shorty” which is extremely cringy but hanji did it on purpose just to see levi get embarassed and he does lmao so yeah the show goes amazingly! levi went flat a few times on the higher parts but it’s totally normal bby’s not trained and he did great everyone praise the birthday boy he deserves it
it’s after the show that things get a lil sad for our boi bc now he doesn’t have to rehearse anymore and is afraid that hanji won’t spend time with him anymore bc the show’s over :(( but fear NOT hanji plans on glueing herself to his side for the rest of the schoolyear and until they graduate and even after that and years later they’ve graduated college they’ve been living together for a while and they go to see the actual show on bway done by professionals and hanji acts weird all evening and OH as they’re going home she stops in the middle of the streets and whips out two lil matching rings,,,,,,, and says the cringiest cheesiest fucking thing in the world that has levi groaning and facepalming,,,,,, hanji says “will u be the marius to my cosette” and yeah levi just sighs and puts the ring on his finger and they smooch under the moonlight aw isn’t that CUTE and they lived happily ever after victor hugo is smiling down at them from the afterlife and patting himself on the back for helping them get together
NOW THERE’S TOO MUCH FLUFF AND I NEED ANGST TO BALANCE IT OUT so imagine this is also a reincarnation au and whenever levi sings “empty chairs at empty tables” he gets a weird feeling in his stomach and he gets really emotional singing “oh my friends my friends forgive me that i live and you are gone, there’s a grief that can’t be spoken, there’s a pain goes on and on” and “oh my friends my friends don’t ask me what your sacrifice was for, empty chairs at empty tables where my friends will sing no more”?? He blames it on the character getting to him too much but then he sees the scene where the students sing drink with me and the lyrics “drink with me to days gone by, can it be you fear to die, will the world remember you when you fall, could it be your death means nothing at all, is your life just one more lie” sound really familiar and resonate with him somehow as if he heard similar words somewhere else already, he sees erwin playing enjolras and being a commander giving orders and singing “let others rise to take our place until the earth is free”, he sees the scene where all the students get shot at the barricade and die one by one and he feels his head pulse and he has the strongest feeling of deja-vu and suddenly everything goes black and he wakes up in the infirmary with a very worried hanji sitting on a chair beside him and he really can’t explain what happened except that he feels like he just woke up from a very long dream and he feels like he fought through a battle and hanji just waves it off as him taking the stanislavski technique a bit too seriously for a high school play but the feeling doesn’t really ever go away and sticks with him even years later whenever he hears les mis being mentioned

Hikari's Pov
I sat next to Yua on the train headed towards Yokohama. We left the church early this morning. Neither one of us knew where we were going. We decided to go somewhere so we can figure out what to do. We just had to be away from our parents. That night after everything that happened Yua still tried to reason with Dad.
"Dad" Yua pleaded, grabbing his shirt sleeve. "I just want you to listen to me for once. There's weird things happening to Hikari and I-."
'Go to bed. I'm too tired to deal with this." He deadpanned, snatching his shirt from Yua's grip. There was no emotion on his face and no sincerity in his voice.  I watched him walk past her up to his bedroom.
"Too tired to care about your kids huh? It's like you don't want us here." Yua whispered.
"It'd be easier wouldn't it?" He snapped from the top of the stairs. Maybe things would be easier if we didn't adopt you two. You were suspicious about living her since day one. If it wasn't for you mom I would have given you back."
I shook Yua, waking her up from her slumber. She opened her eyes and yawned. The train stopped and we quickly got off the train. We found a small hotel nearby that was next to a convenience store. We stopped there first to stock up on food and water. Getting back to our room I plopped down on the bed. I took my phone out and stared at the wallpaper. There were no new messages or missed
"No calls or texts?" Yua asked, laying down next to me. I shook my head tossing my phone beside me.
"We left yesterday and our so-called parents don't even care. I would say I'm shocked but I'm really not."
Yua and I ate breakfast that consisted of juice and pancakes. After we ate I took a shower. I took off my jacket and shivered because of how cold the room was. I pulled off my beanie and tossed it in the pile of my clothes on the bathroom floor. Something about it felt off. I quickly turned back and picked the beanie up. This wasn't mine. It was Akio's. I guess when I was packing I grabbed his hat and not mine. I shook my head, placing Akio's beanie on the bathroom counter. Yua isnt gonna let me hear the end of this is she?  When I came out of the shower Yua was under the blankets snoring loudly. There was a chair by the window so I decided to sit there and read for awhile. Well attempt to read over my sister's snoring. The sky was gray and cloudy. It looked like it could rain or maybe even snow. A few minutes later it started to rain. I watched the rain fall down and leave droplets on the window. I ran my fingers over the cold glass turning the water into frozen ice. Placing my palm on the window it started to heat up and immediately melt. The window turned hot making me move my hand back. What don't tell me I have fire powers now? The room was cold so I grabbed a blanket off the bed and wrapped myself in it. Before I knew it I had fallen asleep.
Yua's pov
I sat at the edge of the lake watching the ducks take a late night swim. The moonlight beamed down on the water beautifully.
"Yua you're gonna freeze" Haru said from behind me, making me jump. He wrapped his jacket around me and sat beside me. He was still dressed in his training gear meaning he must have just gotten back.
"What are you doing out here anyways? It's late."
"Feeding the ducks."  I told him handing him the bag of bread crumbs. He tossed a hand full and the ducks gathered around. It was silent between us but it was a comfortable silence. The only sound came from the ducks happily eating.
"Still thinking about what your mom said?" Haru finally said. I nodded bringing my knees to my chest.
"It's a lot of responsibility. Taking care of my sister and one day taking over the kingdom. I don't know if I'm ready for that yet.
"Well I know once you fully turn you'll be ready. I can already see it when we train?
"Yeah?" I questioned turning to look at him. He nodded. "Your parent's see it too. You've already learned so much. Don't stress about it. When it's time you'll do fine. Plus you have Hikari and I." He smiled.
"Yeah but you're the only one that Will remember any of this" I laughed. "Even when I do see you again I won't know who you are."
"You'll remember one day too. Once you get your memories back you'll remember everything. Including this moment now.  that part was true. One day we'll all be able to come back to the castle. There won't be people coming after Hikari and I. Well if they do we'll be ready for them.
I woke up to the sound of rain hitting the window. It was pouring rain. Checking the time on my phone it was 4:52pm. I closed my eyes trying to process the dream I just had.
"Hikari?" I called out. She didn't respond so I sat up and noticed she wasn't in bed with me. I saw her sleep in the chair with the blanket falling off. I picked the blanket off the floor and wrapped her in it. She stirred a little in her sleep mumbling something.
"Hm?" I asked.
"Akio..." she mumbled again.
"So first you steal his hat and now you're having dreams about him" I smirked.
I laid back in the bed starving up at the ceiling. This dream was just like the last one. This time everything was more clear. Maybe what I was seeing was a memory. Everything about it seemed real. Plus Haru and I talked about me not being able to remember. What wouldn't I remember? That night? Or was there more? The last time I tried to talk to Haru about it he got defensive. Maybe that's why. He mentioned that I would start to remember. Did he not want me to? I knew then but now I know he's not telling me something. It would make sense with the way he's been acting lately.
"I knew he was lying."
"Who?" Hikari asked. I opened my eyes and she was standing over me. I grabbed the pillow next to me hitting her in the head with it.
"Why are you watching me sleep?"
"Why'd you hit me?" She pouted.
"Why are you having dreams about Akio?" I shot back.
"What?"
I cocked my head to the side grinning at her, she rolled her eyes and picked up the pillow hitting me with it. After hitting me she sat down across from me. I sat up while Hikari stared at me.
"Why are you staring at me?"
"I'm hungry" I signed, grabbing my phone. "You're always hungry
"Sushi"? She nodded smiling happily.
Riyoshi Pov
"Where the hell are they?!" Haru growled giving Akio and I a death glare. He tried his best to be intimidating but he wasn't. Honestly I don't know what Yua sees in this guy.
"We told you we don't have them.'' I said, stepping closer.
"I don't believe you. Now tell me or get your ass beat."
I chuckled and looked back at Akio. "Do you hear this guy."
"Yea he's pretty delusional and persistent." The younger one said in an annoyed tone.
"Aye! I'm right here and I can hear you." Haru walked up to me grabbing my collar. "Tell me where they are." he demanded.
"So you're like the bodyguard? You suck man, Like legit who trained you?"
I must have pissed him off as his face scrunched up and he launched me as far as he could but his throw had no aggression whatsoever. I landed on my two feet easily. "Now you pissed me off."
"Yo Riyoshi we are really wasting our time on this dude. I kicked his ass like a week and a half ago so imagine what you could do."
I sighed in irritation. "Don't ruin this man I need to let off a little steam anyway." Akio put his hands up and backed up as if I needed more space.
"Ahh lil tough guy huh. Your mommy teach you that?" Haru taunted.
"What are you 11." I said as I pulled at least 5 daggers out of my weapons belt "Any Last words buddy?"
"Yea. I'm not your buddy" Haru spat.
"That attitude makes me wanna shoot you instead but I have no wooden bullets for you today."I sucked my teeth mad at myself. "Too bad you'll die slower I guess." I shrugged then launched all 5 daggers at him.  He dodged a couple of them but since I'm savage I threw a few extra that he didn't see. Hitting him in both legs, his Right ankle, his chest and face.
These hits weren't fatal but he won't realize that till later. I ran up and kicked the dagged further into his chest and watched him fall to the ground groaning in pain and eventually passing out. "Damn that was quick"
"He might get back up, he had more fight in him when I was up against him."
"You didn't launch 5 daggers into his pressure points though. And the one in his face will definitely leave a scar.
"Did that one for fun."
"You really scare me sometimes man." Akio said with a straight face "he's not dead tho. I thought you were gonna kill him."
"Nah I really wanna shoot him so he'll have to wait till I finish carving bullets for that."
"Why do you wanna use weapons so bad?"
"Because I cant use them on Levi and I really wanna shoot him."
"Makes sense." Akio nodded in understanding and turned his attention to the knocked out vampire.
"That is just sad. Imagine being that weak Amelia would have our head for a failure this bad."
"You're thinking about Amelia, I'm thinking about our big boss, imagine that."
"You're right. That's worse."
"Let's go find those girls. It's about time we get your favorite hat back." I told him in a stern voice.
"Why is your anger suddenly directed at me?"
"No reason. But if you fuck this up just remember." I motioned my arms as if they were around his neck. "Remember this?"
Akio gulped "That's not right."
I tapped him on his shoulder. "You make the final decision so don't be scared yet." before walking away like I didn't just threaten to put him in a death hold while he stared at me in disbelief.

Inspiration Song : You’re gonna go far kid -The Offsprings
Tumblr media
Even tho Annton didn’t lie when he took me to the abandoned  house, he wasn’t completely honest.
Yes, it was true that the people who went to the fights as spectators placed bets on the fighters, but he failed to mention that the betters were nobles, from the high society, escorted by a few members of the Military Police and the Garrison. An enormous part of them even took their lovers along, girls way too young to be their wives, barely above 17 years old, wearing tight and colorful dresses, looking like they were about to assist to a big gala or something.
Eventually there was the middle class man in the crowd too, but The Basement was majority concurred by some of the most wealthy people inside the walls. Hypocrites that assisted with the sole purpose of satiating their thirst for depravation and violence . The basement was a place where everything was permitted, a law free zone where one could take the decency mask off, and just succumb to their most primal state of violence.
It was pretty obvious to anyone with more than two brain cells that the Basement wasn’t a proper place for a thirteen-year-old girl. The first time I stepped a foot in the dark room I almost peed my pants. Everything from my posture to my shaking hands screamed that I didn’t belong there, but the firm grip of Annton’s hand on my wrist impeded me to leave. I don’t even remember the wrestlers’s names, too focused on the stench circulating in the humid air to care about what was going on inside the circle. With thirteen years I didn’t recognize the smell, but at nineteen and with six years of experienced i was an expert pinpointing the metallic smell of blood mixed with the sweet touch of ale.
Men with expensive looking suits and their escorts filled the subterranean floor, their clothing contrasting with the dirt floors and the blackened walls because of the torches smoke, that gave what little ilummitation they could in the chamber. The spectators crowded around a white circle that was painted on the floor, elbowing one another to get to the front row, where the most sadistic hoped to get sprayed by the loser’s blood. Up and against the walls there were a few rows of bleachers, reserved to those who could afford it, they were a sign of wealth and status.
My first fight took place two weeks after Annton showed me the basement for the first time. When we were there they settled the date. One soldier from the military police had found another brat my age to face down. Apparently when two kids fought, it was a special treat, The basement hosting the double amount of people it usually would.
The last Saturday of September got earlier than expected. I had used my time to fiscally prepare, running laps and lifting heavy things I found around the house, doing sit-ups and pushups and all the exercises you could imagine. I hanged a pillowcase filled with heavy stuff to make it contendent and used it to practice my punches, trying to dodge the bag when it came back full force towards my nose. Keyword being ‘try’.
I tried to mimic the progression of hits my father had taught me in front of the mirror in the living room. My movements were sloppy, and my technic was nonexistent. There was no chance in hell I would win the fight. The fear was consuming me. If I came home with a black eye or a few teeth missing my father would notice just how fucked up i was, if I made it home after, Annton was prone to throw my sorry and beaten ass inside a prison cell as soon as i were conscious again. But the other option wasn’t good either, If I won the fight it implied beating another kid unconscious, another boy in the same predicament i was in.
An hour after my father left to the wall to keep guard i sneaked through the door, an old black cape that Mrs. Argón had given it to me a last winter draped around my shoulders, protecting me from the chilling wind. Annton had instructed me to take some spare clothes to fight with in a bag, so i packed the most basic things i had, a white tank top and some old black cotton pants that had a few holes on the lower end, so i ended up cutting them up at the knee.I also packed a pair of handwraps, the more injury’s i could avoid the better, that way it was easier to keep the fights a secret from dad.
The streets were silent and a layer of frost was forming in the windows I passed by. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have another way out. Annton was extorting me with prison time, but realistically I could run away and he would never find me, he didn’t have my address or my actual name, if I disappear it was game over.
Then why was I on my way to the lion’s den willingly? The idea of finally being able to stop begging on the streets for food was appealing. If I won I would get paid, besides for once in my life I was having the control over something, it didn’t matter that it could potentially get my nose rearranged. The fear was undeniable, it was there, lurking in the back on the back of my mind, but at thirteen years old I could be tempted by the idea of a better life.
At the end of the street, almost in front of Wall Rose I could distinguish Annton’s figure, leaning against a cart attached to two horses. The diver’s back was facing me, him not paying attention to us at all. The sound of my foots steps alerted Annton, who lifted his gaze from the ground and smiled at me.
“I thought you had backed down in the last minute.” He joked, I didn’t answer, the silence stretching between us. “Anyway, get in, it’s a long ride, the guards on the door knows about the event, so there’s no need to worry”
Without emitting a word I got in, Annton following right after. The sudden jerk of the cart because of the horses starting to run made me fall face first onto the wood planks. Heat crawled up my neck as Annton bursted out laughing. if the driver had reacted the same way, I would head dived out of the cart.
I got up and Annton grabbed me by the arm, trying to stabilize me.
“Thanks” I scoffed once I could finally sit on one of the apple crates that functioned as stools.
“You’re welcome kid” He said, looking at the narrow street we were traveling, leaving wall Rose behind.
The road seemed remotely familiar, the only other time I transited it I almost fainted from the panic, so i couldn’t recall much, a few buildings were familiar, but come on, every building was a copy of the one next to it.
The ride was lengthy, grazing the two hours of travel. Half of the time I spend it snoozing off, the constant rocking of the cart lulling me. Every now and then a rock on the wheel would shock me awake. Resigning my slumber, knowing full well I would not rest, i opted for talking to Annton. I could barely make out his face in the darkness, the moon nowhere to be found, only a few stars illuminating us.
“Annton...” I started, a grumble from him told me he was paying attention, so i continued “Who am I going against?”
Curiosity was one of my flaws. Ever since the date was settled I couldn’t stop imagining the fight.
“From what I’ve been told, you’re going against a kid from the underground city. “Annton turned to me " I think they found him fighting for food down there, the guard offered him money if he assisted the fight, and I heard there’s even the citizenship on the table.”
His words took the air out of my lungs. That kid had it ten times worse than me. A sudden wave of guilt hit me. Annton noticed my change of demeanour and he let out an exhausted sigh, rubbing his forehead.
“Why did I even opened my mouth…” The muttered words left his mouth" Listen kid, I choose you because I thought you were desperate enough, you are a decent fighter, you could handle yourself against a man almost the double of your age.” He said matter-of-factly. “If you feel even a little of remorse for that kid, he will break your nose. You two are not enemies, but he will not hesitate. He wouldn’t mind killing you if it meant he could take off from that shithole. Do you want to die? "  I shook my head, stunned by his logic " Good, then you must fight. If you don’t fight you don’t win, and if you don’t win you won’t survive ¿Understood?
“What if I lose? " I asked, my voice low, almost imperceptible. Everything had been an awful idea. The whole “doing something for myself and taking the reins of my life” thing was going south.
“It all depends on how you loose. If it’s for you not trying, then I’ll find out the coward you really are and I’ll throw you in a cell to rot myself.” The harshness of his words slapped me across the face. “ However, if you lose from lack of experience, you’ll do better next time, and you’ll keep fighting until you can pay you debt.”
I nodded, understanding his words.
“I trust on you Ace, there’s a reason I chose you… Don’t let me down”
His words did something in my interior. Maybe it was because it was the first time someone had said anything like that to me. No one had had faith in me before. My resolution to fight came back ten times stronger.
I could do it, I was going to give my all into this fight, no matter what.
The remaining of the trip we spend it on silence, only stopping twice to switch horses. Before I even knew we were right in front of Sina.
We both got down from the cart and he dismissed the driver, setting the meeting point for the way back. Once the sound of the hooves dissipated in the distance Annton walked up to the concrete wall. He looked up and whistled like a bird. My eyebrows went up. What an amazing dumb skill to have. Another identical whistling responded, and an elevator started to descend, I could distinguish another person on it.
Once it got to the floor, a woman got out of it and throw herself into Annton’s arms, smashing their lips together. I could feel a blush invading my face, I wasn't used to those kinds of affection, and the level of intimacy they shared made me really uncomfortable. I adverted my eyes, trying to give them some privacy.
Once they separated Annton called me over, I walked over to them and he gestured towards the girl with his arm.
“Ace this is Hale, my… Friend” I couldn’t stop my sceptic look. Friends didn’t kiss that way from my understanding. Apparently she agreed with me because she slapped the back of his head, annoyed.
“Charming as ever Ann.” Her frown dissolved into a smile when her eyes found my own. “Oh god! You’re so pretty!” Her big blue eyes shone with enthusiasm. She grabbed my hand, leading me to the wooden lift. “Try to keep your face intact tonight. Let’s go”
With a pull on my arm, she got me inside. Annton following behind and closing the door.
“So… how’s Wall Rose doing Ann” Hale Aked, her black hair slapping me in the face because of the wind. I took her in, the patch on her jacket displaying a green unicorn. Military Police.
“Meh, same as always. There’s nothing interesting” Annton placed his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close to him. “My last two weeks consisted on waiting for Ace’s first match” The excitement on his voice sounded authentic.
“First match? Oh honey,  you must be so nervous.” One of her hands patted the top of my head “Don’t worry, we won’t leave you on your own. I’ll even bet on your favor.”
That didn’t help at all.
They kept talking and I shut them off. Once we were on the top of the wall another guy received us, greeting Annton with a friendly hug. He looked me up and down.
“So… this is the renowned Ace huh?” He said with a deep voice. “She’s smaller than what I pictured. How old are you, girl?”
“I’m thirteen…” I said, Annton looking at me with a shocked expression.
“Shit Ace! Why didn’t you said anything!? You’re still a kid, i woul’ve thought twife before offering the deal.” Since when was he considerate " I thouth you were at least fifteen.”
“Dean is fifteen” Said the other guy " Though luck Ann, seems like you made a poor decision” He chuckled, palming Annton’s back.
Annton rubbed his face with his hands a few times and he sent a confident smile my way .
" As if.  Ace is going to kick his ass. Right, kid?”  I didn’t answer, this asshole was sending me to my doom.
“That’s Enogh Ivo. Don’t try scare her. Cant you see she’s already nervous? " Hale intervined, tying to defend me.
Ivo got down to my level. He was big, enormous,  around 6’2. His hand found a place in the top of my head, petting it as if I was a dog. With him in that position I could appreciate his features. His green eyes studying me with the same intensity as I was. He couldn't be older than nineteen, his face was young, without a beard or wrinkles, only smooth and healthy looking skin.
" I’m sorry kid, I know you will be just fine” He  pissed me off. He was underestimating me, and with a reason, but still, it was annoying.
I slapped his hand away.
“Thanks.” I said dryly. Annton and Hale laughing at Ivo’s flabbergasted expression.
“Huh… she’s got an attitude, I like it. She’s definitely going to be okay.” He said, getting up. He turned to the couple. “I wouldn’t be too worried about her.”
The four of us descended to the other side of the wall. I limited myself to observing them. Anyone could see they got along just fine, as they were comfortable with each other, joking around and pushing one another. A longing feeling made its way into my chest. I never had the chance to make friends, with my father often away and my constant begging on the street’s there wasn’t much time left to socialize.
Hale turned my way and smiled at me. Almost on instinct I smiled back, and hers grew bigger. She was young too, around the same age as Ivo. The doubt on  how these three soldiers ended up on the illegal world of  The Basement  was eating me away, but i tried to ignore it.
As I was walking down the streets of the wealthy town I realize just how much of an outcast I was. The children with lucky enogh to have been born inside wall Sina would never have to go through what I had. The exasperating need, and the dependence on other people’s goodwill to survive.
Annton was guiding the group, leading the way in the dark as if he knew it like the back of his hand. We made it to the entrance of a tunnel and without missing a beat he got in, descending the steps.
A long and dark hallway stretched out in front of us, seemingly going on forever. We made our way in silence, the only sound was the tapping of our footsteps on the stone floor.
“This tunnel connects with the ones leading to the underground city. “ Hale’s voice broke the quiet " The basement is right in the middle. You’ll know when we get there” Her hand found my shoulder in the dark and she squeezed it, comforting me.
Hale was right. After fifteen minutes i could hear the commotion. Lug voices and laughs, people stomping their feet in sync, almost like a heartbeat.
“Seems like they already started” Said Annton, quickening his pace.
“Come on Honey, you need to get ready. We better hurry” Hale took my hand and made me follow her lead, mi shorter legs trying to keep up.
I could see a few feet away the light of a torch slicing through the darkness. As we got closer, the fuss grew louder.
Once we got there I noticed a hole in the wall, almost as if someone knocked the tunnel wall with a hammer. Next to the jagged edges of the entrance there were two metal rings that supported the torches.
Annton got inside, with Ivo following behind him with a spring in his steps.
I hesitated for a moment. Hale clenched my hand, giving me a little of security.
“Be careful, there’s a step.” She said, smiling at me.” Don’t worry Ace, I’ll be right behind you.”
I took a deep breath in and I felt around with my foot until I found the step she mentioned. A few steps in and a heavy curtain stopped me in my tracks, the deep red colour out of tune with the gray of the walls. A man was in front of it.
“Hey Mick” Greeted Hale
He nodded in acknowledgement.
“Who’s the brat?” He asked, a thick finger pointing at me. “Spectator or Youngblood?”
“This is Ace.” She said. It only took my fake name for him to let us trough, stepping away from the opening on the curtains. I looked perplexed at her and she just winked an eye at me. I thanked the wardrobe of a man, and he nodded once again. A man of few words it seemed. " The perks of being a competitor”
“How did he knew my name?” It was the first time I saw the man. The first time i assisted we entered trough another set of tunnels on the other side of the city, the ones the nobles used.
“Annton putted you on the list, the guards memorize the names to make sure no one who shouldnt be here get’s in, otherwise the business could be ruined.” Hale had to raise her voice above the cheering of the swarm of nobles.
The place was packed, everyone crowded around the circle where two girls were sparring. A knot formed in my stomach with only watching them, and I tear my gaze from them quickly. Swallowing was hard, the nerves getting the best of me. Hale noticed my anxiety, and taking my hand she dragged me to a less transited area.
“Let’s go to the backrooms so you can get ready. Okay?” She didn’t wait for my anser and she dragged me straight to the opposite end of the place.
The backrooms where only a few small compartments with the same heavy fabric as the entrance separating them from the rest of The Basement. I touched the curtains with the tip of my finger, and my eyes opened like saucers. It was velvet. Someone had to sell their kidneys to afford them. Velvet was expensive as hell, a luxury only a few could pay for.
Throwing my embarrassment out of the window, I took the fabric to my face, petting my cheek with the soft material. It was almost like touching a cloud. My pillow back at home seemed filled with nails in comparison.
Hale noticed my amazement and giggled.
“Those were donated by Lord Reiss. He comes around quite often” She said  ”You better get changed, there are only two fights left  before yours, and for what I could tell, this one is about to end.” As soon as the word left her lips, the sound of a gong filled the air, which I supposed it meant the end of the match.
Once I was in my comfortable clothes, I took the handwraps and tried to wrap my joints, but they came undone each time I tried. The injuries on my knuckles had healed, a fresh layer of slightly pink skin covering them. The scars would stay there for sure, but oh well, what could you do?
When she saw me struggling with the wraps Hale took them from my hands and proceeded to do it herself. Her fingers worked expertly on my hands, tightening the fabric just the right amount, trying not to constrict the blood flow too much. When she finished with both of my hands, she gave me a friendly squeeze.
“Your hands are freezing.” Hale stated, rubbing my fingers i between her hands, trying to warm them up. “It must be the nerves”
I nodded.
“You know you can talk to me if you want to, right?” Her eyes were gentle.
“Yes, it’s just that I’m a little anxious, I don’t want Annton to regret his decision” I expressed my fear out loud for the first time. Hale’s grip on my hands tightened up.
“I know it seems like Annton is only getting advantage from you. But ever since he found you he wouldn’t shut up about how excited he was for your fight“  She said. “I don’t want you to think I’m only defending him because we’re together. But Annton knows what is like to live on the streets, and when he saw you I think you reminded him of his past. It’s not my story to tell, but by bringing you here he is, on his own twisted way, trying to help you. If you win you get paid, and that’s better than not knowing when you’re going to eat tomorrow or not.”
Shit. So Annton wasn’t only interested in the money. A new flame of determination ignited in my chest. I was not only going to win for myself, i would do it for Annton and his younger self too. I didn’t understand how a young and beautiful girl could be interested in someone much older than her.
“Come here, let me braid your hair, if it’s loose like that someone could grab it, and trust me, it’s not a nice feeling.”  Her hands digged into my hair, braiding it with an amazing level of skill.
I couldn't hold back my curiosity any longer.
“Hale, How old are you guys?… Isn’t Annton a little too old,” I asked. “Not like there’s anything wrong with that… it’s just that i found it a little odd… not that it’s odd.” I was just rambling, too embarrassed to think straight.
She bursted out laughing. The shame intensified.
“You’re funny, Ace.” She said, finishing the braid, letting it fall over my shoulder, a simple ribbon holding it together. The intricate pattern that she twisted the hairlocks in brought a smile to my lips.
I had never learnt how to braid my hair. With a decease mother and living with a grown up man who barely knew how to wash his own socks I never had the chance to.
I turned to face her, and she had moved to the wall, leaning against it, watching me, amused from my previous nonsense.
“Annton is twenty-one”  My eyes opened with surprise, damn he was rough on the edges. Hale laughed at my expression. “I know what you’re thinking, but try not to mention it, he’s sensitive about his looks. Ivo and I both are twenty years old. The three of us had been together since we joined the military, and we’re as close as we were back then.” I nodded in understanding.
Hale opened her mouth, about to sai something only to be interrupted by the gong.
The fear rushed through my body, chilling my core. It was my turn, the time had come. I was supposed to go out there and beat some other kid, and I thought I was ready, but my feet were nailed to the ground for some reason. I was unable to move.
Hale’s arm circled me.
“Hey Ace, don’t worry. Annton Ivo and I are going to be on the crowd, and if things get ugly, Hitch will stop the fight.” She shook me a little, almost like she was trying to get the anxiety out of my body, and snapped me out of my trance. “You’re going to do just fine. And if not then it’s all right, you get up and you try again. If you don’t fight, you can’t win.”
Her last sentence brought me back to my conversation with Annton in the cart, and the deep desire to make him proud gave me the strength I needed.
I felt like I could understand Annton a little better  he wasn’t mean only for the sake of it, it was his way of helping me out. He was projecting his younger self on me, he wanted to be for me the person he needed so desperately and didn’t have.
With a leveling breath I stepped out of the backroom. I wasn’t sure of what i had to do, but Hale didn’t leave my side. Holding my hand, she pushed her way through the sea of bodies, until we reached the front row, almost inside the circle. In the middle of it there was a man with the Military Police uniform on.
His presence was imposing. Standing taller than Ivo, around the six foot five inches, he smiled at the roaring crows, mischief shining in his eyes. He took his hands to his face and shouted.
“Are you ready!?” The response from the mob was deafening.
Shoulders collided with mine, making me lose my balance. My eyes searched the rows of heads. Right in front of us Ivo and Annton were making their way trough, pushing and insulting the guards that tried to resist them. Once his eyes found us, Annton Smiles at me and nodded one time, Ivo on the other hand screamed my name at the top of his lungs, clapping along.
A chuckle slipped trough my lips. For once in my life I had someone cheering for me, instead of pitying me. A warm feeling made its way through my chest. I was not about to spoil the start of something good.
The guard on the circle opened his mouth once more
“I said… Are you ready!?” This time my cheers joined the rest, my hands up in the air.
The warm laugh of Hale resonated by my side,  and my eyes were on the other two dorks, my smile widening when I saw them laugh too.
“Tonight we have a little treat for all of you.” The crowd went wild again, and Hitch tried to calm them down with a finger on his lips, his other hand signaling them to quiet down.” I know, I know. You must be wondering Hitch? What are you talking about? " The smile on his voice was obvious " We have two youngbloods in here tonight, and they’re going to fight for the first time in The Basement”  If I thought the spectators were nuts before now they reached a new level, jumping around, and pushing one another. y eyes went to the bleachers, where a few nobles were nodding their heads, leaning forward with interest.
“Is Dean anywhere around?” Hitch asked.
From the far end of the crowd a figure was coming trough as the people kept screaming. He shoved Ivo and Ann away with his hands and he got into the circle.
Dean was fifteen, but he could easily pass by as a thirteen year old. I knew about the rumors of the habitants of the underground city. Because of the lack of sunlight they didn’t grow that much, Dean was barely half an inch taller than me, his body build almost the same as mine, the only thing that told us apart was his eyes. There was no doubt on them, he had his eyes on the prize ad he was going for it.
The people chanted his name as Hitched grabbed him by the wrist and parade him around the circle. When he passed by me he winked an eye at me and he sent a crooked smile my way.
“Oh honey, I think he is underestimating you, so you better go out there and kick his butt.” Hale shook my shoulders.
A fraction of my stress dissipated with her light tone.
“Alright alright.” Hitch returned to the middle, Dean right behind him. “Is Ace in here with us tonight?”
When i heard my name i didn’t even had the chance to react, Hale’s hand shoving me forward, almost making me fall face first. I thought I heard a ‘Sorry’ from her, but I couldn’t be sure, the roaring crowd drowning her voice.
Hitch repeated the same process of circling me around, some people clapped and cheered me on, others looked at me from head to toe, their eyes screaming what their mouth didn't. They thought I was going to be crushed by Dean.
When I passed by them Ann and Ivo extended their hands, and I gave them a high-five.
Once we were done Hitch placed me in front of Dean. His green eyes analyzed me, sizing me up. The thought of how many times had he found himself in the same position, jus about to fight in the crime-ridden underground city? His black hair fell on his forehead, a few loose curls brushing his brow. I trailed down my eyes and i noticed his shirt was nowhere to be found, I tried not to let it affect me, but i couldn’t help my lingering gaze on the pale skin of his chest. Dean noticed it and he smiled brighter, a set of dimples on his face.
“You like what you see Girl?” He asked, getting inside my personal space, his voice barely above a whisper, only for me to hear. Hitched grabbed his face with a hand and pushed him away.
“Leave the teasing for later Boy” Hitched laughed “Rules are simple kids. No biting, unless you want to sweetheart” he winked “No low blows, no spitting, and leave the claws for another occasion. The fight stops when one of you can't keep up or gives up. Fists up, and clash them.” He took a few steps back.
Dean’s wrapped up hands collided with mines with a little more force than necessary. it was his way of intimidating me. And it was working.
Without another word, Hitch signaled the start of the match with a gesture of his hand.
I raised my guard up as Dean got closer to me, the nerves bubbling up in my tummy. Three blows made their way to my face, but I avoided them, messily and with no technique whatsoever, but they hadn't strike my head, so i was satisfied.
People’s screams were loud, spitting loose words like “Come on” And “Hit him” into the air.
I tried to throw a punch to Dean’s face, but he took my arm and swiped my feet from under me. My back collided with the ground and my spine reverberated from the impact. He lifted his fist and directed it to my head, trying to knock me out, but I rolled away and jumped to my feet. The crowd was roaring his name and he took a step back, spreading his arms, as saying ‘What are you waiting for?’
“Come on cutie, we don’t have all night.” he said, his guard up once again.
I din’t respond, too busy searching for an opening. With two steps he was infront of me, winging a punch to my face, i dodge it, but the moment i did his hands grabbed me by the soulders, and he brought his knee up, smashing it against my abdomen, the pain exploded. I thought he woul let me go after one punch, but he kept going. i needed to get him off of me and fast.
I resisted on last knee and when he retreated his leg to throw another i traped his elbow against his chest, linking my free arm around his other arm i twisted my hips and bended my legs, sending him to the floor with a heavy thud. Ivo’s cheer made it’s way to my ears, but i didn’t have much time to rejoice on my little victory.
My stomach was aching from the blows and i could feel a bruise forming. Dean got up and started to throw one fist after the other, all to my head. I waked back, trying to avoid them, until the hands from the spentators stopped me.
“Don’t go out of the circle, sweetheart. First warning.” Hitch’s voice sounded, but I barely registered what he said.
A fist punished my cheek and I felt the skin tearing, the warm and slow trickle of my blood going down the side of my face. It was going to hurt in the morning, but at the moment the adrenaline rush subdued the pain.
His merciless blows came fast and steady. I would like to say I dodge them all, but I would be lying.
Dean was repetitive and predictable, so taking my chance when he retracted his fist I took a step forward, going under his arms and flooring him.
Once we both were on the floor, I immobilized him with my weight and threw punches at his face. A few of them impacted, but the big majority didn’t get through, his arms covering his head. I made the mistake of letting my arms too far away from my face, and Dean shot his arm up, hitting me straight in the chin. I fell sideways, and the taste of blood was in my mouth.
Shaking my head I got up and lifted my arms, covering my bruised face, Dean rushed to me and threw a right hook, trying to hit my temple, but I blocked it with my elbow, grabbing the back of my neck. The impulse of his blow made him end up in my personal space, so I smashed my opposite elbow straight into his nose. The crunch raised the hairs on the back of my neck, and the blood started to gush out.
Screaming with pain Dean grabbed his face, and at the moment he took a step back I kicked him in the middle of his chest, sending him on his back to the floor, his head hitting hard against the floor, disorienting him. With a conviction I didn’t know I had I threw my body into his, my hips holding him still, and as if he was the same drunken bastard from the alleyway,  my fists unloaded all of my weight into his face.
The whines of pain that came out of his mouth made my heart coil with guilt, but it was a fight, we both had agreed to it and he had no problem on beating me senseless. I closed my eyes and kept going, waiting for Hitch to put a stop to the fight, Dean wasn’t even defending himself anymore.
A heavy hand on my shoulder halted my movements. The gong sounded and the screaming from the crowd erupted.
Once I was on my feet Hitch grabbed my wrist and lifted my arm in signal of victory, a dull ache traveling through my limb.
The spectators got into the circle surrounding me. Congratulations and praises were said by unknown faces, the shiny jewelry on their necks blinding me slightly. Slaps on my back and shoulders were delivered my way as well as a few jars with ale. I felt lost, Hale and the others were nowhere to be found. With a shot stature I felt like I was drowning, the high from the fight retreating, causing the pulsating pain on my face and torso to surface.
Out of the blue a pair of hands grabbed me from under my arms, lifting me up in the air, and putting me down on someone’s shoulders. When I looked down, I recognized Ivo’s dark hair. From my new perspective I founded Hale and Ann out of the crowd.
With a few long strides Ivo made his way to them, leaving the exited mob behind.
Annton had an arm around Hale’s waist, and a smile on his face. Hale was the first to speak.
“Ace! You listened to me and kicked his butt!” She clapped, like a little girl high on sugar “I told you it would be fine”
“Thank you” I said, still on Ivo’s shoulders, he was not putting me down.
He patted my calf, calling my attention.
“Now let’s go get the prize!” He exclaimed, rubbing his hands together, almost tasting the money.
Before the giant i was on could turn around Annton called me.
“Hey Ace!” My eyes took in his gentle expression " Nice work you did…You’re gonna go far Kid”
I smiled at him, grateful.  Ivo turned around, taking me to the women who recollected the bets.

Wendy Character Info (01/03/2020 Update)
Below the read more is all the information I have compiled about Wendy to this point. Wendy is a work in progress OC and I would love to hear any suggestions you have about her :)
__________________________________________________________
Wendy’s personality and appearance:
I’ve envisioned Wendy as the love child of Wednesday Addams and Robin Buckley. She has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She is about 5′7 making her a great deal taller than tiny Lydia (only about five foot even). Aesthetic wise she is similar to Lydia but in a less dramatic/proper way. She prefers to wear pants and shirts rather than dresses, her hair is cut about shoulder length and usually tied up in a messy bun or ponytail. She likes to wear makeup and is actually really good at it.
Personality-wise she can seem intimidating until you get to know her, once you do she is the biggest softie. Wendy also is very funny and clever. She sadly does not have dumbass lesbian energy :(
In the relationship, she has all the brain cells when it comes to common sense. Her and Lydia are opposite kinds of smart; Lydia is book smart but Wendy is street smart. Her favorite class is psychology, and she wants to be a child psychologist when she grows up.
Wendy can be just as awkward and timid relationship-wise as Lydia, both are each other’s biggest fans, always cheering the other on. Simply because she is taller she will go to defend Lydia from bullies and assholes, but Lydia will always stand up for her as well..often just in more sneaky ways than Wendy’s bluntness.
Family:
Wendy is the middle child of Mr. and Mrs. Blackwood. She has an older brother named Levi that’s three years older than her and a younger brother named Silas who is the same age as Skye. The Blackwoods are Jewish and welcomingly invite Lydia to participate in their holidays.
Wendy’s father is a pastry chef and her mother is a lawyer.
Her family is very supportive of their relationship and is just happy their daughter is happy. They also know about Lydia’s family and is completely on board with that too.
Information about how they started dating:
When Lydia and Wendy first meet they are a freshman in high school. They’re friendly with one another but not super close because they didn’t have any classes together. Freshman year that got put in the same chemistry class but Wendy liked to sit in the back because she has no interest in chemistry and would rather just doodle mindlessly.
Wendy gives Lydia her number and the two start talking. Lydia, still upset about what happened at the dance with Claire is taking things slowly at first but the feelings are there. They start hanging out a lot more outside of school and being affectionate with each other in a way that’s more than friends, but still that blurry zone. Like daily Wendy will run up and hug Lydia or they’ll hold hands in the hallway.
During a strange three week period in October of the freshman year, Wendy tried several times to ask Lydia out, but Lydia being the dumbass she is had no clue that’s what she meant (referring to the “I like to eat dinner every night” text post). Eventually, Wendy gets tired of trying to be sly and flirty about it. They’re facing timing each other a few days before Halloween and Lydia still didn’t have a costume. She asks Wendy what she should be and that’s when Wendy says “my girlfriend.” The two started dating and ever since they’ve been pretty happy.
Information about their dynamic:
As I stated earlier Wendy is the smart one™. She is also slightly more confident than Lydia and often initiates them going on dates. Lydia is a hopeless, puppy-love, romantic. She will send paragraphs about what she loves about Wendy and Wendy will struggle to find words to convey anything about Lydia. It took Lydia a while to get used to this especially when she texted Wendy that she loved her for the first time and Wendy sent back “k”  until twenty minutes later when she responded a photo of a reverse uno card. Very on-brand for their joint sense of humor. Wendy can be romantic tho, and is emotionally intuned to Lydia, but she is a little worse at showing it than the very emotional Lydia.
Lydia being super into photography has used Wendy as a model frequently and taken amazing photos, but the one time Wendy tried to get a picture of Lydia it looked like it was taken by a potato.
As expected Lydia is the one who will lay or lean on Wendy, but not to be fooled, every kiss that they’ve had Lydia literally refused to get on her tiptoes to reach so she just pulled Wendy down.
Random Tidbits:
As stated Lydia is very book smart, and when they have “study dates” it’s usually Lydia who is trying to focus but Wendy keeps trying to distract her and Lydia will eventually give in and give Wendy a kiss or attention.
Both LOVE attention and are not shy to tell each other. Being a middle child Wendy relates to the invisibility Lydia feels. It’s small things sometimes where one will say to the other “Hey I’m lonely rn can we talk, hang out, etc”
Wendy grew up as a dog person and hated cats until she met Lydia’s two cats. Wendy is one of the only people besides Lydia who The Kraken will voluntarily snuggle with.
They go on really cute dates, but are also down to just lounge around in sweatpants watching cheesy movies in the attic.
Wendy and Lydia are always getting into trouble. Wendy nearly got fired from her job at the icecream shop because Lydia is always around, and when they close they always seem to be goofing off.

Hiii! I love your posts, so here is some food for thought. How would the boys react if you came up to the and just bit them affectionately?
Hihi thank you!!! ‘n can I just say I love this idea sm!!!! Biting is my favorite love language lolol
Lucifer
The first time you did it Lucifer just stared at you for probably a good five minutes like ‘Why?’ before he could decide if he actually wanted to ask you why-
Just explain that it’s a way humans show affection! Tho he’s still going to ask you to explain better then that-
Honestly he would prefer kisses if you want to show him affection….but he won’t stop you from biting him.
Unless you’re in public. Lucifer ends up developing a sort of sixth sense and just looks at you to say, “Remember, no biting in public MC.”
Really tho he just likes to keep it private, just between the two of you.
Mammon
Screamed the first time you bit him- (a really high pitched one too) looks at you like you’re insane. Also asked if you have rabies or something 💀
After awhile he gets used to you just randomly biting him.
He fuckin’ loves it. he just doesn’t want to say it-
Likes to bite back!! Usually bites you on your cheek.
Levi
Screamed pt.2 he was playing games and you genuinely caught him off guard-
Eventually he gets used to you just biting him out of nowhere.
It’s an easy way to turn him into a stuttering mess :)
Wants to bite you back, but always hesitates.
Satan
Cat affection?? Cat affection!!!
Bites back.
Not really surprised either.
All in all he’s just enjoying it.
Asmo
Giggles and asks if there’s anywhere else you’d like to bite him~
Likes to bite back when he can.
Honestly it somehow turns into a competition of sorts between the two of you.
Basically trying to see who can catch the other off guard and bite / leave more marks.
Beel
He probably nibbled on you first and it was probably an accident.
Asked if you were hungry the first time you bite him….tho it took him a few minutes to actually noticed- your bite really didn’t feel like much.
Belphie
Why?? Just why?
Tries to hide how much he enjoyed it by saying he’d rather have kisses. He’s lying
After the first time you bit him, he’s taking it as an invitation to bite you whenever he wants.

The Wishing Well
Whew, I made it lol.  This is my story for the awesome @nalufever for the Nalu server’s secret Valentine’s Exchange.  LoL we had each other!  Omg, I hope you like it, I was trying to come up with a story around the idea we once talked about.  It ended up being a fluffy short story lol.  Okie here we go.
“Miss Lucy!” the little girl waves her hand excitedly from across the room.  “Miss, Miss, Miss!”
“Yes, Wendy?” the teacher’s aide walks up to the table and kneels, “are you finished with your drawing?” Nodding her head with a small blush upon her cheeks, the child holds her drawing up for Lucy to see.  “That’s wonderful Wendy!  Is that your cat?  But why is it blue?”
Wendy smiles wide, “name’s Happy!  Don’ know why he blue tho but it’s cute!”
“Yes,” Lucy chuckles, eyes brimming with delight, “he’s very cute!”
Content with the response, Wendy goes back to doodling a new cartoon while the teachers aid floats around the room checking on other students.  Lucy loved this part time job even though it wasn’t quite in the field she was studying for, the credit still counted, the pay was decent, and not to mention the students were adorable most of the time.  Of course, there were a few that could be a handful, but nothing the bubbly 22 yr old blonde couldn’t handle and besides, the teacher Mirajane was also a blessing to work with.
Storytime was probably Lucy’s favorite part of the day.  Books had always been her sanctum even from a young age and to impart that same love into these children was like paying it forward for the new generation.  They would gather round her with their snacks, the eager little faces and once a week she even delighted them with original little stories she would create just for them.  Filled with characters like Princesses and Dragons, of mythical elves and other magical creatures, even using their names mixed in to make it come alive for the awestruck youngsters.
Lucy smiles from her desk, this school year was shaping up to be a great one.
Across town at Magnolia University, a young man hurries out of class.  Checking his phone, he’s got 30 minutes to get to the primary school and pick up his sister, but traffic is often a pain at this hour.  His sister-in-law Mavis usually picked Wendy up but today she had an appointment leaving Natsu to rush.  It’s been a struggle for the 24-year-old, being thrust into the role of guardian at the age of 20, to drop out of college and take time off to raise a 2-year-old.  Not that it mattered, there was no way he was going to allow Wendy to be sent to a foster home after their parents died.  It wasn’t her fault tragedy struck and left her an orphan, so he was going to lavish that little girl with all the love and affection their parents would have given her.
He thrums his fingers on the steering wheel, as the car slowly crawled its way towards the front of the school.  The line of parents patiently waiting to pick up kids was pretty typical, however annoying it may be, but a requirement for the students in kindergarten and first grades for release at the end of the day.  Teachers and security waited with the children, handing them off as each car pulled up.  Natsu smiles when he finally sees the tell-tale blue hair of Wendy bouncing as she waves to him.
“How was your day at school Wendy?” popping the question as the first grader buckled herself in to her booster.
With a click and a bubbly response, “lots’a fun!  We drew and Ms. Lucy read us a story!  Ms. Lucy always has awesomest stories to tell!  Yuck, then Mrs. Dreyar gave us reading to do.”
Natsu chuckles, side-eying through the rearview, “What’s with the pouty face?  I thought you like reading?”
“Not for homework.  I wanna read for fun!”
That only makes him laugh harder, “tell ya what, how about we get some ice cream at the mall, then I’ll read with you, sound better?”
Wendy’s face lights up, “Yay!  Ice Cream!”
“Kozmic Cones it is!”
On the opposite side of the mall nestled near the food court, Faeries Café was a popular little hangout.  Good food that even a college kid could afford drew them in at all hours of the day. Lucy was no exception and today was her weekly meet up with her best friend Levy McGarden for coffee.  It had become a routine ever since they’d finished their undergraduate programs and moved on to graduate work, she in the field of English Lit while Levy focused on Ancient Linguistics.  Between classes and working jobs they rarely had much time anymore to hang out.
“How are things going with Gajeel,” the blonde stirred at the slowly warming coffee, “did you guys pick a date for the wedding yet?”
“He said not until after I graduate, which is only one more semester, so I agreed.”
Lucy leans onto her propped hand with a light smile, “You’re so lucky you found someone already Lev, I’m really happy for you two.”
“Aww, Lu you’ll find someone,” the bluenette reaches over the table and grabs her friend’s free hand, squeezing it before retracting back into her seat, “and I bet it’ll happen when you least expect it to.”
But the blonde just sighs, “Doubt it, I’m so busy I don’t have time to meet anyone unless they are under the age of 7,” chuckling lightly, “and no one in my college classes are very interesting to me.”
“You haven’t dated anyone since him that I can recall.”  Levy taps her chin, “maybe it’s not that you can’t but won’t look at anyone else.”
“What are you my psychiatrist now?!”  teasing at her friend.  “I’m fine, really, not like I don’t have enough on my plate to deal with, right? And as for my ex,” Lucy shrugs her shoulders, “we lost touch in college…”
The girls spend about an hour chatting and catching up, planning that upcoming weekend when another friend will be dropping by town.  Cana Alberona was never one to stay still for very long but luckily her job in fashion fit her personality well, jet setting around to photograph models and actors for Sorcerer’s Magazine.  She was so different in personality from the other two girls and yet the trio were inseparable in high school.  It wasn’t really their thing, but for Cana, hitting a bar or club was definitely going to be on the agenda.
Which was fine, she guessed, nothing wrong with hanging out with a couple of girlfriends at a bar.  Hopefully no one bothers us….  Ugh, but some guy always does!  As she walked away from the café, Lucy hangs her head wondering if her love life would always be a struggle.  She was sick and tired of even trying to meet guys when it usually turned out they only wanted her, sighing, for my assets….  It wasn’t her fault she was born with these curves, even thought about getting a reduction one day just so she didn’t have to deal with them anymore.
There had only been one serious relationship in her life and while the guy definitely loved her body, Lucy knew it wasn’t the reason he’d asked her out in the first place.  Back then surrounded by so many friends, she’d never cared much about having boyfriends or being in relationships but funny how things change and now 5 years later, it was kind of lonely.
She sees the wishing well a few feet away, absent mindedly pulling out a coin as she walked towards it. It was such a silly thing to make a wish and throw away a perfectly good quarter but well, flicking the shiny metal into the water, what could it hurt, right?  To have someone like him back in her life again, maybe the false smiles she wore would finally be real.
“Ms. LUCY!!!”
“Wendy?”  The young blonde turns around to the voice of her student, semi-surprised though this was a mall and all, just in time to have the little girl hugging to her legs.  “Wendy, what a nice surprise to see you here!” Lucy hugs the girl back, “but who are you with sweetie?”
The little girl, with eyes practically shining, bounces on her feet pointing behind her, “my brother gots me ice cream.”
“Your broth” As she follows Wendy finger, Lucy cannot believe what she’s seeing.  “N-Natsu!” a light gasp as her hands fly up to her mouth and moisture clouds her vision.  “Oh my god! I-Is it really you?”
Sporting the trade mark goofy grin that she knew better than most plastered on his face, “Yeah it’s me, heya Lucy,” scratching his head, “Didn’t realize you were the teacher she always talks about.  How ya been?”
Tears trickle down her cheeks and before she can stop them, her feet carry her towards him, hands flying into fists.  In that moment Lucy’s surroundings fade away and all she can see is Natsu, standing there in the flesh.  No Wendy, no shoppers, just him.  “Why!?” She beats at his chest, “no calls, no texts, no goodbye!  Four years! Y-you just left me hanging how could you Natsu!”
“Luce…” he had no idea what he could say to the sobbing woman in his arms to slow her tears, grabbing her hands to stop their fury but keeping them held tightly to his chest. She was right, everything she said was the truth.  Natsu was an asshole for not making the effort to contact her as soon as he could, and he knew that.  So, he did the only thing he could and held her quietly, whispering soft apologizes and hoping it would be enough to soothe the pain he never knew she had held onto.
Eventually Lucy slumps against him, liquid still flowing but her sobs withering into lighter exhalations. “I’m sorry,” her voice strained and muffled, “I didn’t mean to break down like that.”
“No,” Natsu pulls her head against his shoulder, cradling the back of her head, “don’t be sorry, I should have reached out to you too it’s just that…”
“I know about your parents….  I ran into Gray a couple years ago and he told me that’s what happened.”  Lucy pushes away just enough to look up at the taller man. “Natsu I would have been there for you if you’d have let me, you didn’t have to do it all alone.”
“I know Luce…. We…”
A meek voice breaks through the din, “I-Is Ms. Lucy okay?”
“Oh my!” Lucy pushes away and drops to her knees beside the little girl, followed quickly by the elder brother.  Still wiping away the streaks of salty liquid, Lucy takes the child’s hand, “I’m so sorry you had to see that Wendy.  I’m okay really, I am I promise.  We,” glancing to Natsu who nods, “we went to high school together and haven’t seen each other in a long time.”
The poor child’s face is still sullen and full of worry.  “Are you, are you mad at my brother Ms. Lucy?  Did my brother hurt you?”
“He…”
Natsu put his hand on Lucy’s shoulder, cutting off her response.  Turning to his little sister, “I did, a long time ago when you were still very young, I made Lucy very, very sad.”
“But he didn’t mean to sweetie,” Lucy chimes in trying to comfort the child, “your brother was going through a lot of things and it just happened.”
“So, you really aren’t mad at my brother?”
“No, I’m not,” the woman smiles.  “I rather like your brother a lot.”  Lucy feels the warmth tingling in her cheeks but does her best not to show it.  “He’s, you know like how we learned about the bad guys and the good guys in class?”  The child nods.  “Your brother is one of the good guys.”
That brings a delighted smile back to Wendy’s face.  “I think so too!  He takes really good care of me after mommy and daddy died.”
“I’m sure he does,” Lucy smiles back.
“Wendy, honey,” Natsu steps in handing out some change to the girl, “would you like to go make some wishes while I finish talking to Ms. Lucy?”  The child looks to her teacher, then back to her brother nodding, taking the change and skipping off to the wishing well.  “What’s the odds that she’d end up in your class?” turning to the girl still crouched, Natsu helps Lucy to her feet, “or running into each other at the mall’s wishing well?”
Lucy shakes her head rather than respond.  Magnolia wasn’t a large city, it was bound to happen sooner or later so there was no point in making it out to be anything more than mere coincidence.  “I-I sh-should probably go so you can get back to Wendy.” Lucy turns away.  “I must look like a mess right now…”
“You are still just as beautiful as the last time I saw you.”
The blonde stiffens. His words…. His tone… sends an electric shock through her frame.  Tingling along her skin when his hand comes to rest on her shoulder and the heat radiating from his body infringing upon her space.
“I’m such an idiot for letting you go once.  You must be settled down by now with someone….”
She shakes her head, refusing to turn around, and answering in a soft tone, “there hasn’t really been anyone since you.  No one’s ever treated me…. the way you used to treated me…”
One hand on her shoulder turns into two around her waist.  “I don’t expect you to forgive me Luce, but if it’s any consolation, I still love you, maybe even more now, knowing how much Wendy adores you too.”  Lucy squeezes her eyes shut, willing back the tears again. “Would you give me a second chance?”
“Please say Yes!”  The young man and woman’s heads whip around to see a beaming Wendy practically bouncing.  “Please say yes Ms. Lucy!”
Natsu let go of Lucy’s waist, turning her to face him.  “Well, Ms. Lucy?”  A large grin growing on his face with the thought of buying his sister that new dress she’s been fawning over.  “You wouldn’t want to make your student sad, would you?”
“Gah, you really haven’t changed,” she punches his arm, playfully with a smirk.  “Lucky you,” grabbing his shirt, “I still love that goofier side,” and pulling him down for a kiss….

After their disastrous "dinner" with the Brat Squad, Levi had returned to their room to find Eren sitting on the end of the bed. His teen's hands were clenched into fists as he stared off into the distance, not even noticing Levi or Hanji had entered. Leaving his dinner on his desk, Levi placed both twins down on their bed, before kneeling in front of Eren. Taking both his hands in his, the teen jumped as he finally realised he wasn't alone "Levi?" "Yeah, brat. Want to tell me what you're thinking?" "Things aren't the same" "What things?" "Everything. I tried to pretend it was, but I felt like... like I was walking eggshells around the others. They kept talking around me, like I couldn't hear them" "What did they say?" "Just stuff about the twins. Like how they couldn't be mine because they're cute and shit. I know it was joke, but I'm so fucking done. I don't want to be treated like this. I don't want things to be like this and it's fucking frustrating" "I'm sorry I had to talk with Erwin" "No. It's your job. I should be able to put up with the people who were supposed to be my friends for longer than five minutes" "You had a big day..." "Don't do that! Don't try to blame the fact I'm tired. I might be fucking tired, but I thought they were my friends, you know? I know I'm useless and I've been gone, but... I still wanted to try" "I know you did. Do you want to take a shower? Or start packing?" "Don't go in the bathroom" "Why not?" "I took my frustrations out on it" "Did you hurt yourself?" "No... I kind of ended up screaming at the mirror and throwing stuff" "Did it help?" "No. As soon as I was done, I wanted to clean it all back up, but I think I over did it with all those stairs" "It's fine" "It's not fine. It's a mess" "Which I'll clean up. It's not like I don't have to sort the bathroom out before we leave" "Levi, do you really want to go?" "What do you mean?" "You could stay here. You could be safe" "I've told you I want to this ocean of yours. We're going together. Rilee and Eli are both going to see the ocean, and we're going to be right there with them" "Is that what you want?" "I want to be with you. I want to see just why so many people had to die, and what this "world outside the walls" is really like" "I'm sorry. I keep making you look after me or making you repeat yourself" "I make a special exception when it comes to you" "Don't. Don't go easy on me. I don't know what to do when you're not acting like yourself" "I'm still me" "I know you are. I'm just... a mess" "A shitty mess" "Yeah. Fuck. Why couldn't they just accept the twins? Why did Armin have to keep asking Hanji if Rilee was ok? Jean kept teasing me about my arse. Mikasa kept telling him off. Sasha was looking at the twins like they were food, while Connie was teasing her for it" "Did Mike or Hanji say anything?" "Hanji told them that fluid in the lungs isn't all that uncommon. Mike just hung back, kind of, I think he found the beer better company" "At least they got to meet the twins" "Yeah. Fuck. I hate this so much. Everything has fucking changed all over again. I want to be out there. I feel like I'm a prisoner here. I feel like there's this knife against my throats and with one wrong step, everything's going to break" "We'll be gone soon" "And then what? What do we do when we reach the ocean?" "We'll figure it out when we get there" "I hate how patient you are with me" "I can yell if you want me to" "No. I'd probably just start crying and feel even worse. I hate feeling like this. I couldn't even fucking eat. Not with them all watching" "I had Hanji bring mine up. You should eat" "You should too. I'm healing. And you must be starving" "I'm not actually. It's weird. Maybe it's because of the kids?" "What? Like their smell? Or like your instincts?" "I don't know. I just haven't been that hungry for blood" Part of it was his instincts, the other part was the fact he couldn't get the mental images of Eren's blood over everything after the birth. It was enough for his stomach to tighten, and kill the desire to feed "Is all this too much? Me. Rilee. Eli?" "No brat. You and the twins give me a purpose" "You're a really good dad... when Mikasa mentioned Grisha, I wanted to vomit... I don't know what I'd say or do if we found him out there" He could think of a fair few things he wouldn't mind doing to Grisha... all them ending with the same send off Kenny got "And you're a good mum. You could have made any wish you wanted, and I would have found a way to make it happen. But you wished for your daughter. Our daughter" "I don't want her dying here" "We don't know she's going to die" "Everyone dies eventually..." "Why don't you finish my dinner? I'll clean the bathroom up, then you can take a bath. I have to finish up those papers, then we'll start packing" "Can we go along the top of the wall?" "If that's what you want" "I do. I want to be free" * It'd taken two full days to finally get everything sorted. Levi couldn't just waltz in a take all the supplies he'd wanted for his family, and the pile of papers on his desk had required him paying more attention to them than he'd thought. Eren quietly accepted it all, almost as if he didn't really believe they would actually leave. With both their bags packed, Levi had let Eren sleep until the very last minute. They were leaving just before sunrise, with the intention of hitting the wall around noon. He knew the grounds around the castle like the back of his hand, so the only real danger came from pushing out and into the unknown. With their arms filled with sleeping twins, Eren was slowly stumbling along side him. Every few seconds his fiancé would stop to yawn, despite the fact they'd had a most peaceful night. With all this yawning and stumbling, each step down the stairs that Eren took, left his heart stopping and starting, and by the time they hit the ground floor, he was amazed he hadn't had a heart attack. He knew Eren was strong, but his boyfriend was still recovering, both mentally and physically. The birth having seemed to send Eren's mental health spiralling again. So caught up in his worry, he barely noticed Erwin standing near the door that would lead them towards the stables. He hadn't counted on that. He'd left a letter to Hanji, explaining that they were going to take Rilee to the ocean. But he hadn't left an explanation for Erwin. Catching sight of them, Erwin closed the door with a loud bang that echoed through the deathly quiet castle, and caused Eren to whine in fear "What do you two think you're doing?" Instead of cowering away like might have been expected, Eren stood a little straighter "We're going to watch the sunrise" "With two backpacks? And two newborns? I don't think so" "We're going to watch the sunrise, and have breakfast out there" Erwin wasn't buying it "Then why do you have the twins?" "Because Rilee is sick. She's sick and she's going to die. I want my daughter seeing everything and experiencing everything she can before that happens" The look on Erwin's face was priceless. Anger, confusion, sadness, pain, all flickered across his features before he schooled them into a slight frown "I'm sorry about Rilee" "Like that changes anything. We all know how you feel about me. We all know the only reason I'm here is because you can't let Levi go. Well guess what, he's my fiancé and we're taking our twins to watch the sunrise. We don't know when Rilee's going to die, and I don't want to waste the time we have her, standing here and explaining to you why we should be allowed to take our own children out to watch the sunrise... not when any breath could be her last" Eren's brave words trailed into a broken whisper as he readjusted his hold on their daughter "What you're going through isn't fair. And despite what you've got into your head, you being here is for the protection of all four of you. I can't say I understand what it feels like to be the parent of a sick child, but I can say that I did see you after birth. With the sheer amount to blood in that room, there's no way you should have survived. There are others with the intent to spill just as much of your blood all over again. So while you're watching the sunrise, don't forget that not everyone here is your friend" "So, we can go?" "Of course. Just watch your back" It sounded more like a threat than warning, but Erwin slipped past them, disappearing towards the stairs. Letting out a long breath, Eren finally shook his head "Let's go" "I think you hurt his feelings" "He doesn't have them. He just had eyebrows and douchebaggery" "I didn't expect you to stand up to him like that" "It was for Rilee. And I knew her being sick... he wouldn't have listened otherwise. Him letting us go was an act of pity" "Whatever it is, no ones going to expect us back for a few hours at least" "You're not mad I lied?" "No. And it's not like you specified where we would be watching the sunrise" Eren gave him a small smile "That's true... I just hope he doesn't try to follow us" "He's got better things to be doing with his time" "Yeah, like coming up with new things for you to do" "I already apologised for the paperwork. You could have helped me get through it" "What was I going to do? Forge your signature?" "I would have let you" "Whatever. Can we just go? I don't want to be caught by anyone else... what was he even doing down here?" "He likes to walk the castle at night" "Spying on everyone probably" Eren let out a groan of disgust "What? Worried he watched me fucking you? Or sucking you off" "Ew! Gross. Not in front of the kids. And no... you're supposed to be my fiancé" "I am your fiancé. That doesn't mean his tiny pecker didn't get up for you" His own teasing of Eren angered him. Eren was his and he was the only one who got to see him like that "He probably came in pants just looking at you. You have no idea how hot you are" "You're the hot one. I'm short and cranky" "He probably had all sorts of nasty dreams about folding you up and fucking your arse" "I thought we agreed no more?" "No. But I don't want to think about it anymore" "You know I'm yours. Don't you?" "Yeah... maybe. No one ever said what was going on in my head made sense"

   CHAPTER ONE: ENLISTMENT
 Wall Sina | Year 847 | Mitras | 9:00 am
Placing my book on my lap,I stretched my arms out into the early morning,I always knew it would be a fine day when I couldn’t feel the temperature of the air. It’s summer. The hottest of all four seasons.I felt the gentle wind caressed my face as i opened the small window of the carriage and let my eyes wandered around my surrounding. The sun was already a friendly ball of yellow, promising more heat as the day progressed.Blue sky and white strips of cloud scattered up above, some are long strips, some are small but my favorite ones were those which has a weird formation, creating various beautiful shapes that will sometimes tickle my imagination. All in all i couldn’t have asked for a better weather.
Minutes passed by and i can no longer smell the sweet fragrance of freshly cut grass. The sound of birds chattering in the trees faded replaced with the faint sound of people talking, footsteps and the noise made by the objects being push, pull or drop can be heard inside the carriage I’m riding in.People scattered everywhere doing their own business. The once quite scenery was replaced by the noise of the lively and busy market place. My mind was fully occupied by the surrounding when I felt someone licked my hands.
"Hey,buddy,” I smiled,petting my dog’s head as he barked,his tail wagging.
He’s a gray German shepherd gift given to me by my mother on my fourteenth birthday, he’s pretty big compare to the average size of a dog,and he looks like a smaller version of wolf because of his color.I love exploring yet i am terrible at directions at the same time,so I get lost often, and Evo was trained for that.He was trained to be my guard and to be my guide. He’s always with me whenever I go outside, specially if I’m going to a place I’m not familiar with.
“Whoa!”I heard the coachman yelled. The horse halted with a neigh as i felt the carriage I’m riding in stopped.
I closed the book on my lap with a small thud before placing it beside me.I tucked a strand of my armpit length brown hair behind my ear as i stick my head out the window of the carriage, peeking outside.
“Lady,” said the girl beside me. “Please sit properly,” Her voice was soft yet stern.
My honey brown orbs met her green once as I put my head back inside the carriage. My eyes flickered with excitement, not paying attention to what she had said as i felt an electrifying feeling surge through my veins.
“Naya, are we already ‘here’? ”Naya’s lips pursed slightly, her eyebrows furrowed a bit as she stared at me,worry was visibly etched on her face.I saw small glint of fear crossed across her eyes and she let out a quite shaky sigh as if bracing herself to what will gonna happen. Her knuckles white,as she unconsciously clutched onto her long skirt before nodding.I brought my hands on top of her knuckles, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Naya,Everything will be fine,so don’t be nervous,” I said giving her a reassuring smile, “Trust me,”
Naya stared at me for a moment before smiling slightly, giving me a small nod of agreement.I smiled once more before placing my book back inside my bag, clutching the handle tightly as i opened the door of the carriage.
“Let’s go then.” I said rather cheerfully as I looked at Evo and he started barking excitedly, “You too, buddy,” and that’s the only cue he needed before he jumped quickly off the carriage and began walking around while sniffing the ground.
As soon as my feet touch the ground,a man in his 50’s approached me.He’s wearing a black tuxedo and a black hat.He has a broad-shoulder,a lean posture and a tanned wrinkled skin– a sign of aging. He has this friendly smile plastered on his face as he removed his hat, exposing those gray-ish strands of his.He then bow down his head courteously before standing straight placing his hat back on his head, still smiling. Evo jumped up on him gleefully, his front paws were on the man’s waist level, tail shaking from side to side and his tongue sticking out.The old man laughed calming the overjoyed dog by petting its head.
“Uncle Rob!" I smiled back.
"Vaccines, medicines, food and clothes are all ready,Miss Elena,”
My lower lips protruded in a childish pout as i heard the way he addressed me.I hoisted my bag on my shoulder, crossing my arms over my chest, pout never leaving my mouth earning a small laugh from the old man.
“Just Elena,Uncle Rob,”
I never liked the way Naya and Uncle Rob addresses me.Firstly, because Uncle Rob,even though he’s not my Uncle by blood, he’s always been working under my family as a butler, even before i was born. And Naya is like a real sister to me. She used to call me in my real name tho,but when she heard Uncle Rob calling me Miss Elena, and ever since when she started to learn the honorifics she began calling me 'Lady’ treating me high and mighty rather than treating me as her own sister. As a real sister. And it saddens me.
“Oh! Hi,Mr.Williams,” I heard Naya spoke behind me with a lively voice as she get herself out of the carriage. Evo was now sitting quietly beside me,his tongue still sticking out.
“My,my,You two really grew so fast, huh?Last time i remember you two were just this small,” He said motioning his hands, placing them on his waistline as Naya and I giggled softly,”Oh, and about the goods,“ The old man added before he whistled. To my shock ten men suddenly came up and began unloading the carriage.I blinked few times, analyzing what’s happening.
"Did–,” I said pointing at the men carrying the goods.”Did my dad sent them here?”
"No,Grandma did.It will be hard for us to carry those boxes without them,Lady,”
‘Well, obviously’ i thought.I bet i couldn’t even carry a single box,but sending ten men was kinda over reacting.I looked at Uncle Rob for confirmation, giving him a 'for real?’ look and he nodded.
“I know but,I was expecting fewer people.Maybe three men is enough, right?”
“Well,” i heard Uncle Rob sighed “Your granny knows how dangerous for us to go in such place,so she thinks sending three men is not enough.”
I frowned but nodded.
“Anyway,Uncle,”I said as i moved my gaze from the boxes to Uncle Rob “Where is 'it’?“ I asked and he looked at me questioningly.
"Oh,that,” he said as he remember, “On your left,Miss El,”
The frown on my face subsided slowly as I felt the surge of excitement runs through my body once again.I turned my head on my left side and gulped, Silently reading the letters written on the wall right next to an arrow.
'To Underground City’
I am finally here.
Again.
I flopped down on my bed groaning while messing my hair, feeling disappointed while I felt Evo lay beside me.I laid on my stomach while digging my face on my pillow as I clutched on it tightly.Lifting up my head a little,I look through my windows, quietly watching as the brilliant orb of amber and tangerine sunk lower and lower in the sky until it dipped down into the horizon, painting the sky in magnificent hues of fiery red and crimson illuminating my room. The colors faded from maroon to neon pink and majestic purple. An impossibly bright orange colored the world a sparkling gold as the sun descended. The sky changed from cornflower blue to a subtle purple, speckled with diamonds and adorned in one large orb of opal.
The first summer night of this year.
The dim light of the moon was the only one that serves a small light in my huge dark room.I rolled on my bed and lay on my back, staring at the white ceiling of my room in the middle of silence. The goods were properly distributed.I enjoyed this project but I’m quite disappointed at some point. So far the projects were successful except 'him’.
My first project was to help the refugees of Wall Maria. Those people who has been forced to leave their hometown and moved inside Wall Rose when the outer wall was breached by the Armored Titan and Colossal Titan two years ago.I chose Underground City for my second project not only because I saw how miserable was the life of people living in there but also, because of 'him’.That boy who saved me and Naya.
I knew that my chance to meet him again after thirteen long years was so small,I didn’t even catch his name, neither I know if I would recognized him if I see him. But i willingly took the risk.I just wanted to thank him for what he did to me and to Naya. And by 'thanking him’ I mean,I wanted to help him.I can help him out of that place if that’s what he want.I never get the chance to thank him back then because he left as soon as my parents came and found me.
’If he didn’t left maybe I could convinced my parents to adopt him too’.
How does he look like again? I couldn’t actually remember.Neither Naya can.The only thing I can remember were his eyes. Those pair of grey orbs, staring coldly. One of the most beautiful pair I have ever seen in my entire life.I sighed closing my eyes falling into a deep slumber.
Three consecutive knocks on my door woke me up from my sleep. Evo lifted his head and opened his eyes raising his left ear as the door opened with a small squeak ,but then lay his head back on my bed comfortably, closing his eyes when he saw it was just Naya who entered my room.I opened my eyes groaning as I glanced at the wall clock.
9:45 pm.
“Lady!" Naya called out catching her breath, one hand resting on her knee and the other one holding a small lamp. I sat on my legs lazily, stretching my limbs before rubbing my eyes.I looked at myself at the mirror beside my bed,my hair,a tangled mess.My gaze moved from the mirror to Naya.
"What is it,Naya?” I tilted my head in a slight confusion as i scrutinized the girl in front of me, “Did you run?" i asked yawning.
She swallowed and nodded, trying to calm her breath.
"You seem so tired,Lady.Would you like to rest first?”
I shook my head and sat on the edge of my bed trying to fix my hair with my fingers.
“Nah,I’m fine.I just woke up,”  I said still fixing my hair. “So,what’s up with you running like that?”
“Another letter arrived," Naya said showing out a small white envelope.
I looked at it before I nodded nonchalantly.Just another letter from the medical establishments doesn’t excites me.After i attained my highest education in the field of Medicine and graduated with the highest award being the youngest person who ranked first in the over-all-ranking,since then, medical organizations started their obsession on sending me letters, offering and encouraging me to join them, however, none of those letters caught my interest. They keep sending letters and i keep on refusing.I know that they just want me for money, the name and the fame.If I joined them, the chance of being hired by the nobles as their personal doctor will get higher and that also means bigger money. And i absolutely loathed the idea.
"Guess i need to declined another letter hmm?”
I shrugged walking towards my vanity mirror to brush my hair.
“But,Lady..” Naya said with her widened eyes looking at me, “This is not 'just another letter’,”
I stopped.Looking at Naya through my mirror.
“What is it then?” I asked, raising my right eyebrow. My eyes flickered with curiosity.
“It’s a letter from the royal family. Here," She said and I frowned, confused. Naya showed the envelope, pointing the stamp.I squinted my eyes looking at the small white envelope through my mirror. "It has a royal stamp,Lady,”
Recognizing the stamp,I gasped and spun around quickly.I walked towards Naya to check the letter myself. Naya hand it over me.The stamp was the image of the castle and the King’s initials. My eyes widened as my fingers touched the stamp.
‘But why?
I thought.I looked at Naya, and she’s already looking at me,My confused hazel brown hues met her pair of confused green once, returning my eyes on the small white envelope,i opened the letter that was addressed to me.My eyes scanned the letter. Each word was neatly written. And on the lower right, there was the King’s signature along with the royal stamp just like the stamp on the outside cover. The letter was clearly not an invitation nor an offer. It’s an order–An order from the King.Defying it means death.I can’t just decline it.As i proceed on reading,a certain line caught my attention.A small smirk crept on my face as I folded the paper neatly placing it back on the envelope, closing it.
“Pack your things,Naya,” I said walking towards my bed,“ We’re leaving.”
“Wha–..Where are we going,Lady?”
“Grandma’s,”I answered shortly as i get my luggage under my bed.
“But,Lady! The King expect you to be there before sunrise,” Her voice trembling as she speaks.”And if you refused you will be sent to–” her eyes widened as if realization hits her.
I didn’t speak, instead I walked towards my closet and get a good amount of clothes, placing it inside my luggage.
“Lady,Don’t tell me you–” the crease forming between his eyebrows became deeper.
“Yes,” I said calmly.
She opened her mouth like she’s about to say something but it seems like she can’t find the right term, that she’s unsure what to say so she closed it again, before she bit her bottom lip.
“You know dad will never allow me to go.” I sighed, turning to her, placing my hands on either side of her shoulder. “This is the only chance i have,"
"But,” she paused searching for words,”I know that you know this is not a good idea,Elena,”
I was quite shock when she called me in my real name.Sign that she’s angry yet worried, but she can’t stop me. I’ve waited for this opportunity for so long.I’m thankful that she always worry about me.I really am.But now,It’s the right time for us to choose our own path.
"Yes,I’m sorry,”
I murmured as i watched her walked towards the door quietly. The sound of opening and closing of my door is the only noise can be heard,a quite click followed. Naya walked out of my room leaving me without a single word.
****************************
Wall Rose | Year 847 | Ehrmich District (south) | 12:00 am
Sipping my tea, I let my eyes wander in my surrounding. A wooden table in front of me and a cup of tea on the table. This house was not as fancy as the one where me and Naya live. This house is more simple yet it gives me the feeling of relaxation and comfort. I’ve missed this house.Me and Naya used to spend our vacation in this house back then, but it stopped when I became preoccupied with my studies.
I heard someone cleared their throat.Following the sound, my gaze fell on my grandmother’s face. Her suspicious eyes already boring at me.
“So,what brought you here,young women?”
“Are you not happy to see us,granny?” I said dramatically clutching my chest.
“Shut up,El.You know that’s not what i meant,”
I pouted childishly. My grandmother is stricter than my mother, while my father has always been the softest one.Basically my grandmother’s the strictest person in the family.
“Why?Is it now bad to visit you, granny?”
“No.But at midnight?Seriously El?It will only take two hours of driving for you to reached my house. And that means you didn’t really planned to visit me but you had to because something came up.” she paused sipping her coffee. “So tell me,young woman.Did something wrong happened?”
My childish pout was now replaced with a serious expression, lips pursed tightly as I turned my gaze to Naya. She’s fidgeting while looking at the unmoving liquid substance in-front of her, holding her mug tightly.I sighed. I’ve already mentioned my plan to my grandmother before as well so I know she wouldn’t be so surprised if I bring up the topic.I turned my gaze to my grandmother, my hazel brown eyes met her dark brown hues still staring at me intently,I wet my lips.
“I am leaving for Military Training, grandma,”  I said as I stared at her not blinking while biting my inner cheek.
She continue to stare at me as well with so much intensity as if she’s looking for something in my eyes.Silence.The wind blow and the cold air entered through the open window of the dinning room and slightly caressed my cheeks. Silence. Only the sound of leaves swaying with the wind can be heard. Silence. Naya looked at me then to the old woman, feeling the tension rising up.
“No," My grandma said her voice low yet firm.
I let out a sigh.I just realized I was unconsciously holding my breath while I was waiting for my grandmother’s answer.
"You can’t do anything even if you’re against it,granny. The King sent a letter earlier, ordering me to work under him as his personal doctor. They’ll send someone to fetch me tomorrow and I’ve already leave a letter of declination on one of the maid in the mansio–." I tried to explain but i was cut.
I was surprised when my grandmother slapped me hard right on my face before I can even finished what I was saying.I touched my cheeks, eyes wide opened,She never slapped me before.
"Say,” She asked her voice was shaking. “You wanna die?”
“I never said that. They want me dead. But i never said i wanted to die, granny,” I argued and she frowned.
“And what about Naya? You’ll drag her with you?” she asked slightly gritting her teeth, pointing her finger to Naya.
I was about to speak when i heard the chair squeak as Naya stood up,all our eyes on her.
"I–” she stuttered. “I’ll go too,”Naya said with such determination that almost match mine if only her voice weren’t shaking.
“Naya,no,”  I said rather calmly as I looked at Naya, creased forming between her eyebrows. “ Never,”
I turned my eyes to my grandmother as she sighed closing her eyes, while pinching the bridge of her nose, trying to calm herself
"I’m sorry, for causing you stress.” I bit my lip looking at her apologetically.“I just wanted to say goodbye to you personally at least before i leave." I paused then look at Naya who’s still standing, her fists curled tightly. “And as for Naya,I’m gonna leave her here in your house.”
I know it will be the best for the both of them, since grandma’s not getting any younger,Naya can take care of her. Also, Naya needs someone to be with her.She can’t be alone. She hates it.
“You don’t understand,Elena." she said sniffing,"What i hate the most is..being left behind,”Naya said, tears running down her face, her voice shaking yet she spit those last two words venomously before she ran upstairs, leaving me and my grandmother in the dinning room.
My eyes widened and I froze not just because she called me in my real name for the second time this day,but because I realized something; I’ve hurt Naya. I will do the thing she hated the most.I will do the same thing those people in her past did to her.I will leave her. Will she hate me?I stand up from my seat and I was about to chase her when my grandmother stopped me on my tracks.
“You sit,”
I swallowed the invisible lump on my throat and patted Evo’s head before i whispered. “Evo. Go to Naya, okay?" I said smiling at my dog and he barked on agreement.
"Good boy," I patted him one last time before he run upstairs,my eyes followed my dog’s movement until I can’t see him anymore.I sat myself on the chair as my grandmother began to speak.
“Why?” she asked in almost inaudible voice,“Why can’t you just accept the order and live peacefully inside Sina just as what your mother told you?” I bit my lip, hanging my head low “Like me and your father want you to do?”
I stayed silent as she bombarded me with questions.
“Why do you have to be so stubborn?” She said her voice weak.“If you’re just doing this to avenge your mother’s death, then stop it.You don’t have to do that, honey,”
“Avenging my mother’s death is far from my real intention, granny.I wanted to do this because i wanted to help,” my eyes started to tear up as i started to remember her, “Just like my mother did,“
I admire my mother,Most of doctors declined working under Scouting Legion because they can’t offer them high income. But she chose to work under that Legion. There’s so many excellent doctors out there but they chose to work under the royalty.Under nobles.Only a few of them have the guts to work under this Legion, when in fact they’re the one who needs us the most.
“And I wanted to help not just as a doctor, but also,as a soldier”
She stared at my eyes as if she’s reaching out for my soul. And I stared at her eyes with my pair of hazel orbs full with determination. She sighed as if it’s the sign that she gave up.
"Did your dad know about this?”
My grandma asked but I didn’t answer, instead I just hang my head low.She clicked her tongue shaking her head.
“Did you even mentioned this plan to him?”
“I did,once.But he got angry,” I pouted.
“Who wouldn’t?Be thankful your dad didn’t slapped you like i did,”
“He almost,”
And I almost forgot about the slap tho.Now that my grandma mentioned it,I touched my cheek and I felt my cheek sting a bit.But I know the training will be more painful.
“But,I’m sorry.I just..” She trailed off, “I just don’t want to lost you the way i lost your mother.”She said and turned her head to the open window, looking at the sky. “My only daughter.”
I hummed.
“I know.I’m sorry too–”
“And I want you to know that I’m still against it.I just hope you’ll never regret this." She said with a quite yet sad voice.I give her a reassuring smile, hugging her.
"Nev–”
“Save it.I want you to say that to me one day.Not now, okay?” She said detaching herself from the hug and I nodded,“Promise me,”
I smiled,as i brought my hand on the left part of my chest. “I promise.”
“Now go upstairs and talk to Naya.”  she said smiling sadly.
—–
I knocked on the door before I opened it.There I see Naya on her bed, hugging Evo. She’s now on her nightwear. A white long sleeve duster that goes just below her knees with some ruffles on the collar. Some of the strands of her black waist length hair were covering her face. The only source of the light is the moon that can be seen through her windows, illuminating the dark room with its dim light. The curtain slightly swaying in the breeze entering her open window.I can hear some occasional sniffs which meant she’s still awake..and crying.I walked towards her bed and I sit on the edge, her back facing me. Evo stand up and walk towards me.I patted his head whispering a 'Thank you’ before I turned to Naya.
“Naya..” I called but she stayed silent.
I started humming a song, because I know it calms her.Music calms me too.We both like music so much.I play piano and she plays guitar. We usually spend time together composing music. To be honest most of the things we know,we learned them together.
“Back then we always learn things together. But now,” I trailed off. “It’s a bit different. We need to choose our path..of what would we like to be,”
“Bring me with you then,” She speaks all of a sudden.
I looked at her with a saddened expression in my eyes and she looked at me with her pained ones.I want her to do the thing that her heart desires. Not this. This is not what she wanted.I know she’s just doing this because of me.
She get up from her bed and shook her head before she looked at me.“Why is that you can to decide for yourself and you wont let me on my own. That’s unfair,Lady,” My expression softened as I heard her statement
"I can’t," I muttered with sadness lace on my voice.
"You can.You just don’t want to," She murmured before laying on her bed once again, but now ,covering her face with her blanket.
"If you will continue to deny my request, then please kindly leave the room,Lady. There’s nothing to talk about,”
That night I let Evo to stay on Naya’s room, instead of mine.

|6:30 am|
Morning came so fast.Silence engulf the whole surrounding. I’m now dressed and ready to go,I’m just waiting for the carriage that will fetch me to arrive.Naya on the other hand is still on her night ware.My grandmother look at the both of us,sipping her black coffee.
“I assume you two didn’t solve your problem,”
She said breaking the silence as she noticed the black circles below my eyes as well as Naya’s eyes.No one answered.Just another silence,It pains me that I will leave like this.We heard a loud knock on the front door.I looked at Naya then to my grandmother.Grandma gave me a small nod before I rushed to the front door, opening it as I saw a man standing outside holding a white paper to which I assumed was a sketch of me.He look at the paper then he looked at me while I get my luggage and carry it.I looked at him. He’s wearing a brown jacket, and a light blue shirt underneath,a white pants with straps and a leather boots. On his jacket an embroidered logo of a green unicorn. The infamous logo of Military Police Brigade.
“I came here under the King’s mighty order.I was sent here to deliver his words.Come with us.Don’t you dare escape, for i was given lawful authority to shoot and kill you if you dare.Don’t you dare refuse, for i had take you by force if y—,”
The man stopped when I walk passed him and get out of the house before he can even finished his sentence. He then grabbed my arm harshly and clicked his tongue.
“What a rude lady,”
I heard him said and I gritted my teeth, glaring at him as I tried to free my arm off his grasp by wiggling it violently.
“I won’t escape,goddammit.”
“Just to make sure,” he said without letting go of my arm.
“You have a gun,you could just shoot me if i dare, just as what you said earlier” i snarled.
“Unafraid,eh?” he chuckled but he didn’t let go of my arm.Squeezing it tighter instead, trying to intimidate me.I hissed, pained and irritated. “Anyway,” he trailed off “You’re not gonna say goodbye to them?” he said looking at the two women standing in the doorway of the house.
I gulped.I can’t get myself turn on my back,because if i will, i don’t know, I’ll probably break down,so i shook my head.
“Really?” he sounds amused,a devious smirk plastered on his face.  “Who knows, this might be the last time you’ll be able to see them,”
I sighed closing my eyes.I won’t let my emotions control me.I can’t let that happen so I get inside the carriage with my luggage as fast as i can and the man closed the door almost instantly after he get inside with me.I looked through the window, there I see my grandmother and my sister. Both of them held a sad expression on their faces as I waved at them and smiled gently.Gently yet sadly.
“Whoa!”
The coachman yelled and the carriage began to move as the horse starts walking. That’s when I heard a bark.I peek through the windows and I saw Evo running after the carriage.
“Wait!" I shouted.
"What?" The man beside me asked, irritated. The coachman slowed down the horse.
"Evo,i mean my dog.Can i at least take him with me?”
“Are you trying to escape using your dog?” The man said chuckling,he then turned to the coachman.“Please go on.Ignore her.”
I frowned. And the carriage starts moving again.
“No!Of course not,”
“Sure." The man beside me scoffed. I was about to say something when he speaks.
"You will shut your mouth or else i’ll shoot your dog." He said showing me his gun.

Training Camp| Year 847 | 8:30 am
"Move faster,dipshit,”
I accidentally dropped my luggage on the ground as the MP pushed me off the carriage. I heard him clicked his tongue. I hissed picking up my luggage.I noticed that he’s still on the carriage.I frowned at him.
“Here," He throw a paper bag on me.I caught the bag and look what’s on the inside.
"That’s your uniform," He said and I nodded as he closed the door of the carriage.
"Wait,where are you going?”
“My job here was already done, young lady,”
“What?” I asked confuse and the carriage starts to move. “Wait!” I shouted, but it didn’t stop.
I feel uncomfortable and nervous at the same time as I looked around me.It’s been so long since I went outside without Naya and Evo around. There’s so many people here and, most of them are so young. Most of them are refugees.I sighed walking around trying to find a place where I can changed my clothes, but to no avail. This place was just too big and too unfamiliar.I don’t know where to go,and I’m completely lost.I’m really bad at this.
"Trainees, gathered together and form 10 lines 20 rows,Now!!” I heard someone shouted and i started to panic.
“Dammit!" I hissed.
I haven’t even put my uniform on,I’m still on my goddamned casual clothes for Pete’s sake.I saw some trainees running on a certain direction,I looked at the paper bag in my hands then on the running trainees, contemplating.Should I change my clothes first? or should I follow them and fall in the line as well?
Clicking my tongue, I followed them. While running,I noticed that all trainees are now on their uniform except me.Great.Just great. When everyone’s done on choosing their place in the line,a loud voice boomed that made everyone flinched and automatically straighten their bodies.
"Straight those pants, peasants! The hundred and fourth Cadet Corps boot camp starts now!Allow me to introduced myself,” he said as he stood straight in front of us, “I’m the former Commander Keith Shadis, and you will gonna hate me.Training is gonna be a white-knuckle ride through hell.If I’ve done my job you’ll be waking up in a cold sweat from memories of this place every night for the rest of your miserable lives.Right now you’re nothing, livestock. But over the next three soul-crashing years, you’ll learn to take down your own Goliath.Remember this moment when you come face to face with him cause here’s where you will ask yourself ’Am i a fighter or am i a food?’,'Am i gonna be ground up to a pulpy human breast wing boulder sized incisors or am i gonna be that one that bite?’”
He shouted with all force with such voice that will make anyone shit their pants. He then started to walk towards the trainees, examining their faces with a glare.
“Hey,mop-top!” He called and go in front of a certain blond boy.
“Sir!”The boy answered, standing straight placing his right hand on the left side of his chest and curling up his fingers, his other hand on his back.
“What did i’ll call you,maggot?”
“I’m Armin Arlert from Shiganshina, sir!" he said flinching slightly.
"Wow,seriously? Why would your parents cursed you with such a dumb name?”
“It was my grandfather,sir!!”
And just like that the former Commandant continued insulting the new recruits.One.by.one.
“What do you call yourself?”
“I am Marco Bott, sir. From Jinae,in Wall Rose’s Southern District, sir!I came to join the Military Police and pledge myself to the King!”
He said, wanting to sound so brave and lively but I can still feel the nervousness in his voice.
'Another one who wants to join the MP huh?’ I thought.
“Well then, that makes you an idealistic fool and a rube. You want the truth? The only use the King has for your life and limbs are titan fodder." The man said moving to the next target like nothing happened.
Things just got worse when he saw a certain bald boy saluted with his left hand instead with his right, the former Commandant grabbed his head and lifted him off the ground.I didn’t expected him to be this rough with the soldiers, especially with the new recruits.
"Listen up,Connie Springer! This was one of the first things you were taught, this salute means you’re offering your heart to the King and for humanity,Is your heart on the right side, shithead?”
He said before releasing the bald boy’s head.He turned his head on the next row.On my row.A girl eating potato caught his attention and I’m near her.
Her.Another Cadet.Me.
“Hey,you there, what do you think you’re doing?" He said walking towards to the girl. The girl looked on her both sides before she took another bite of her food.
"You are officially on my shitlist,Just who the hell are you?" The man shouted angrily.
Swallowing the food on her mouth quickly, she answered,"Sasha Blouse from Dauper,in Wall Rose’s Southern District at your service, reporting for duty, sir!" She said saluting the potato still in her hand.
"Sasha Blouse huh?And what is that you’re clutching in your right hand?" The man said in his low voice.Looking at the innocent steamed potato she’s clutching in her hand with a glare.
I don’t know if am i the only one who find this situation funny,I’ve been holding back a loud laugh ever since the conversation with the potato girl started.Looking around all i see are stiffened soldiers.I can say that the former Commandant did a great job on intimidating them.
"Why?I can’t comprehend,Why would you eat that potato?”The girl started to look confused.
“Are you asking me why people eat potatoes?I’m surprised you don’t know, sir.”
Everyone’s jaw dropped and eyeing her shockingly.Silence engulfed the surrounding and she halfheartedly took a small part of the potato, sighing.
“Here, sir.Have half." She said as she holds out the small part.
That’s when I accidentally let out a loud laugh.Realizing it,I automatically lowered my head and avert my eyes on the ground covering the half of my face as I heard footsteps coming closer. My heart thumping so loud.
"Who the hell are you?And what are you laughing for?” he stopped for a moment and i got nervous, “And why you’re not wearing your goddamned uniform, cadet!?”
He shouted, his voice sent chills down my spine. I placed my hand on the left side of my chest and the other at the back.I stood straight but my head still bent down.
“I couldn’t find a place where i can changed my clothes,sir!!”
I said, eyes still on the ground and my head lowering more and more by the seconds. Then there’s silence first before he answered.
“What a dumb piece of shit. Why the hell you’re looking at the ground, shithead?Lift up your head and look at your superior!!”
I flinched as he shouted louder than before.I’m surprised he haven’t recognized me..yet.“I will asked you once again. What is your name?!”
Knuckles-white,I slowly lift my head up,gathering all my strength I speak loud and clear. He froze, staring at me.Shock etched his face as he recognized me.
"Elena Shadis, from Mitras, the innermost Capital inside Wall Sina,Sir.” I bit my inner cheek nervously as i heard audible gasps and whispering around me.Eyes still focus in front as the man, scrutinize me in astonishment.
“E-Elena?” he stuttered.Swallowing the invisible lump in my throat,I looked at him apologetically before i speak.
“Dad.”

04.03.20
not feeling super inspired right now to talk about anything so ill talk about my past birthdays. when I was younger, the apartment I used to live in was filled with not only Bengalis but children that were mine and my brothers’ age. we always had people to play with whether that was going to the park, going to each others houses, or simply playing on our block or backyard. we also always celebrated our birthdays together— I remember the first time I had my very first Big Mac was during my 9th birthday. in middle school, the birthdays got a little more sophisticated because we would go out to Thai restaurants instead of mcdonalds. in 8th grade, my family moved to a new house, a block away from the old apartment. the next year we all started attending different high schools and I don't rmmbr much, my feelings from the day at all except that we called it early that night and my mom and I slept on the living room sofa, lights off and everything. two of my neighbors came over to my house expecting that we were gonna go out to eat— i opened the door to see them dressed up and all they saw were me in my pjs, house dark and their faces fell. one of them said ‘we always do something for your birthday, we thought we were going to do something this year’ and I said no..not this year and kind of awkwardly sent them on their way. side note, I didnt really have social skills because I was extremely shy and super uncomfortable about being confrontational.
the next few years in highschool my birthdays were okay—I had more School friends to celebrate with and we always went out to eat. but I never had the money or enough friends to have a huge bash like the way I always fantasized. I rmmbr in 10th grade, a few of my friends pitched in to buy me balloons and delivered them to me before first period— I had to carry them around all day and I felt embarrassed but also incredibly special and happy. I eventually became close with Fariha and we spent the next two birthdays together, always Thai food--Jen joined me for one of those outings— Fariha always took care of my bill but I realized I never extended the same courtesy to her.
a certain pattern started developing over the years— my mom started picking fights with me and would always have me feelings miserable on the day of or very near my birthday. In 12th grade, we had a massive fight that I wasn't expecting her to remember it was my birthday or do anything about it. but near the end of the night she designed the living room with tea lights and bought me cake and dressed me up in a beautiful sari. looking back, its fucking manipulative to put me in a bad mood on a special day, and then expect those feelings to be wiped just because im presented with gifts. yes I was *eventually* showered with love but at the cost of feeling gaslighted and having to hide my negative emotions because they were considered disrespectful. my next birthday, I turned 18 but I can't rmmbr it at all. for my 19th, I was living in Toronto but I had visited Levi in Boston and for the first time ever I spent an entire week with him. I had recently gotten a credit card so I decided to buy myself expensive lingerie. that was a lot of fun.
my 20th birthday was one of the worst because I remember it had been a few months since I moved back from Toronto and my mom was especially untrusting. she completely disregarded that it was my birthday so that was a very lovely day. I remember I was working at magnolia that day but I can't rmmbr why I didnt go out with my friends…I don't rmmbr but it was a shitty day.
for my 21st, I had already been living in Boston for a little less than a year and Levi insisted I go out with my friends since I always stay in with him, I went out with two girls from the restaurant I used to work at, and another girl who I used t work at bebe with. regina (bebe) and I arrived earl/on time and decided to grab something to eat while we waited for the other two girls. we went to a Chinese hotpot place and it was a lot of fun trying something new to eat. the other two girls came and we went to a hookah place which was kind of ratchet but I remember my mindset at the time was to not plan everything out so meticulously because nothing goes to plan. however, I was TOO flowy because I was underdressed (it was fucking freezing that day) and the wait line for the hookah place without a reservation was ridiculous. I also didnt like the fact that the girls didnt dress up to the 9s like the way I did. they also didnt drink the vodka I snuck in so that was another bummer. the last annoying thing was that regina had to leave early because she used to Dorm, and the campus closed at a certain hour. even though I had more fun than usual, it wasn't the huge birthday bash one expects for their 21st.
the next year, 2015 at this point, I had moved back to New York but I can't rmmbr what I did that year. the next birthday was one of my favorites. I had finally planned out and executed an amazing girls night out. the day started off with me picking up a delicious tiramisu cake from a local bakery and heading over to nadiyas house in Astoria where Jenifer and Syndee also joined. we pregamed while getting ready. the dress code was black only— I had gotten an amazing sheer black maxi dress imprinted with gold stars from urban outfitters. all my girls looked amazing that night. we did our makeup and curled hair and even just getting ready was such fun. nadiya also put out snacks for us which was super cute. our first stop of the night was dinner at “beauty and Essex” where we had tapas like: tomato soup with a block of fried cheese in it; bone marrow with grilled bread, mini tuna tartare tacos, and shots of soup. the place was fucking fancy— they served us champagne in the ladies room, so extra haha. I knew the bill would be expensive so I covered a good portion of it which I didnt mind because I wanted to have FUN without being hindered at all. it was also a good amount of food where we were satisfied, but not too full that we felt bloated or couldn't continue drinking. we took an uber to the next stop to a placed called “beauty bar” which was a nail salon mixed with a club, that also served drinks. we each got ourselves a manicure and a drink. we danced for a little bit but didnt love the music so headed over to our last stop of the night, a nightclub called Cielo. this is where I made a mistake — I got us there a little after 11 and had to pay a $30 fee. if we had gotten there before 11pm, it would have been half the price. I remember sneaking a bottle of wine in, by squeezing it between my thighs, but it ended up being such a waste because we didnt have a bottle opener to even open it with. I ended up leaving it in the bathroom.  second thing wasn't really a mistake but it took points off from the overall day— the thing about nyc clubs is that there is SO many that they have to be different to stand out, meaning they don't play popular music or top 40. they will play what they think is cool. when you're drunk its fine, but if you're sober (like jen was), its less enjoyable. however because I was super drunk, I did enjoy dancing even tho I didnt act totally ratchet. maybe it worked out haha. I also met a very charming and handsome man that night. apparently he checked me out the minute he looked at me (according to Jen) and came up to me and…I can't rmmbr now what he asked but he offered to buy me a drink and I jokingly said back “haha I think my friends are going to be jealous if I drink without them” and then he actually bought me nadiya and Syndee drinks. I didnt expect that— afterwards we all split up and the girls danced with other people. I danced with this guy, whose name I don't even remember, but he was tall, genuine, and very charming. I met his friends and we went out for a smoke and I remember enjoying his company. I remember telling him I had a boyfriend and he will still ver pleasant and sweet, which I appreciated. afterwards us 4 girls and he, his friend and girlfriend all squished into this tiny car to grab pizza. it started raining heavy at that point and I was super drunk - on our way back to nadiyas place, we ended up having a sleepover that night, I dropped my phone into the water and it went blank. I felt horrible after because I never got the chance to thank him for the night— in his mind, I just became another girl that used him for drinks and then took flight. theres no way to change that unfortunately.
the issue with me is that I really want to execute the way I envision things, and when they don't turn out like that I become very unhappy. I started fantasizing, and still do sometimes, about having a perfect girls group thats made up of pretty girls of different ethnicities. for my next birthday I invited Syndee (Thai but can pass for Latina), Lilian (chinese), and a coworker of mine who I had never hung out with before (Mexican, but extremely pale- looks exotic white) to have a birthday brunch. this was the first time hanging out with Lilian after maybe 7-8 years so it was a bit of a reunion. we went out for drinks to a speakeasy after which was really cool too. even though the group of us looked beautiful in photos, the aesthetics of the restaurant was lovely, the food itself was amazing, and the drinks were strong-- the dynamic between all of us wasn't flowing 100%. I wanted so badly for things to look good that I didnt realize the coworker would feel out of place amongst the rest of us who had known each other for a while. so, while the day was nice and nothing bad had happened, it still didnt feel extremely memorable. thats the last time I hung out with that coworker, and the last time I tried to force things together to make them fit.
the next year I was pretty down about and around my birthday— this was the first birthday after being married. I remember Levi asking me what I wanted to do and what gift I wanted. im not super materialistic anymore so I don't like receiving gifts. we did go out to Indochine for dinner which was nice but not as great as it was the previous time we had gone. instead, we went out to see Jim Jeffereys in Madison sq garden. it was okay— he made a joke about taking a shit which lasted 15 minutes. it was annoying. also Levi got mad at me because I went out to get a drink and missed an entire segment. wooh. I am weird because I want people to show me a lot of love— it doesn't have to constant, or grand gestures but I like when its thoughtful. I hate having to ask for attention or affection, it makes it less special if I receive it after that. even though Jen is my best friend, I have celebrated most of my birthdays without her. she's usually unable to come see me during the school term. this year she was at med school and wasn't able to make it because she was busy studying. she's missed out on a lot of them and it hurts because not only is she my best friend and should do things to make me special, but that I always go out of my way for her to make her feel amazing on her day (I will make a separate post for HER  birthdays). I am relatively low key about my birthday too, ever since 10th grade it hasn't been on facebook profile. I don't tell people about it, if they ask for the date I try to evade their questions. I know its strange, but its because I don't like revealing personal info, or things that are meaningful to me, and have others disregard or forget them. most of my friends didnt remember to wish me but I don't hold it against them because I don't make their birthdays special. I only do that with Jen, so I only expect it from her. however, fimo did make me feel special. we went out to eat at a Sri Lankan restaurant and then got ice cream after from a different place. she printed me a cute celebratory card with a picture of me on it and got a beautiful vase (I told her not to get me anything tho!). she gave me black and white triangular shaped earrings and said, I noticed you like geometrical shapes so I thought you would like these (I did like them a lot). she also did something very sweet and unique- she cut out scraps of paper and wrote little compliments and inside jokes we shared on the. that was my favorite because it showed that there are little moments of me that she remembers, and that she has taken time to think of me and what would make me happy.
out of all my birthdays, the last one where I turned 26 has been my favorite. im not always moody and a downer! this was one of the first birthdays that I actually DID get to spend with Jen. I become very moody around my birthday- in the past because my mom would pick fights with me..these days because I prefer to isolate myself rather than be happy, or optimistic, and then be disappointed. I would want someone to do for me what I do for them. is that selfish of me? maybe. which is why I like to keep my expectations extremely low. Jen had recently broken up with her boyfriend of a long time and she was actually available to come see me, without being hindered or guilted into spending a part of the weekend with him. she asked what I wanted to do and if I wanted anything for my birthday. I feel embarrassed and shy about being given gifts so I always say no to that— I like to have special experiences instead. I gave her an ambivalent answer, showing my hesitation and hinting that ill be working and ill be pretty busy that weekend. the reason I do this is because 1. im manipulative and 2. I'm an asshole. id rather exaggerate to her and make it seem like *IM* the one whose busy and can't make time for her, rather than have her say yes and hope that she's coming and be let down if she can't make it (which has happened in the past before). I also am…apparently unsatisfied by how people show me love. im a scorpio… meaning I am excessive, intense, and “relentless” (according to levi). when I do something, I do it big and I try my best to make it perfect. when people are very lax, like the way Jen is, about certain things it conveys to me that they are not as serious about me. its not necessarily true but thats how I feel. so I tell her im busy, to test her and see whether she will still come to see me for my birthday even tho it may be inconvenient for her. I was wishy washy, but I wasn't completely adamant about her not coming so she decided to ignore my hesitance and come anyway. good decision.
several days before my mom hinted that she would throw a surprise party for me— she tried to be clever about it, in her defense, but when she asked me for fimos number I knew something was up. I played along— I found it very endearing that my mom would do something like this for me. this was part of the reason I decided Jen should come anyway, it would be more fun with her there after all. she came Friday night and we had dinner and talked for a little bit before heading to bed. I had work the next morning; after I came come we both got ready to go to my moms place. she made it seem like we were going to a wedding so I had to get there, get dressed and then we would all head out together. I knew it was gonna be a party so I tried to get Levi to come but he didn't think it was appropriate. once we got there and opened the curtains, I was greeted loudly with “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY!!!” it was my two brothers, a couple of my little brothers friends, fimo and her bf, my aunt, and my cousin and his parents. it was very sweet, I was honestly touched to see a room of happy faces all leathered around because of me. my mom was elated, it was so fucking cute. she spent all day cooking a ton of food— making all my favorites ofc— and got this delicious cake adorned with a picture of me. the room was designed with HBD banners and streamers, confetti balloons, and pretty fairy lights. my brothers even got a disco light that displayed different colored lights all over the walls, and champagne candles (the ones that shoot out that pretend fire until they die out). I felt so fucking loved— I feel happy right now thinking back to that night.
the next morning I had planned to go to the spa with just Levi but Jenifer wanted to join us. I didnt want to at first because I wanted to spend some alone time, but thankfully it ended up being a great time. Levi rented a car and we drove to this luxe spa in New Jersey. it was three floors filled with different temperature jacuzzis, pools, saunas, and steam rooms. the pool on the rooftop was an infinity pool, filled with a ton of instagrammers, but the view was stunning and we caught a delightful sunset. Jenifer being there added a lot to my pleasure and peace— I got to take as many photos as I wanted without being judged and I had fun running around to all the different areas instead of being told to sit quiet. I really do love that girl, but any actions of me being distant or cold are a result of being let down so many times, intentional or not, that I always expect only the worst now. however, her being there that weekend solidified our bond greatly and I appreciated that. we got pizza afterwards which was tasty but not so great. we drove back home and Levi let us off at st marks so that Jen and I could spend the last hour before she had to leave back to Philly. she spontaneously told me she wanted to get a belly piercing, and if I was down. we had gotten one together a long time ago but it fell out and we didnt have it re pierced. I didnt care either way so I went for it. now we have matching bffl belly rings all over again. nice end to a great weekend.
a few days later I met fimo for brunch at an Italian place in Brooklyn, that happened to be near the movie theaters where we planned on going after. brunch was whatever but she got me a fucking $100 Chanel perfume even though I demanded that she not get me anything. the perfume smells heavenly, and I only wear it on special occasions now. but it was too expensive, and I really didnt want that from her. later, we watched ‘Parasite’ at this theatre called Nitehawk Cinema which allows you to eat and drink right while you're watching the movie. we munched on popcorn and drank wine and felt like badasses. Parasite was absolutely amazing and thrilling- a Korean horror/thriller about a family that trick, and uses, a richer family into employing them. the name of the movie makes it seem like THEY are the parasites, but the crazy plot twist is that the rich family’s former employees were doing the same thing. but worse. they were secretly living/hiding out in the rich family basement/bunker. shit gets crazy when current employees find the ex employees. we both really enjoyed the movie, and didnt expect to like it as much as we did. it got nominated for several awards, so we were not the only ones who thought so.
the last person I saw for my birthday was Syndee but it wasn't really a bday hangout. I recently had a falling out with Ivan (more on that on a different post), and had reached out to all my closest friends. Sydnee and I see each other once every couple months so it was time. we got Detroit style pizza at this famous place near my work/home. the food was pretty good and it was nice to catch up with her. I let her know that I would be less busy in the future and that maybe we should start calling each other so that the stretches in person wouldn't feel as long. she agreed, and it was interesting as were catching up that for the first time I had only good news to share and she had not so good news. I told her that I had gotten a new job where I was planning to get promoted, had very recently gotten my green card, and that my mom was finally coming to terms with my marriage. I talked about my birthday, and she casually got the date for my birthday wrong (she was off by two days)— so I guess it really has been a while since we've been thorough with each other. she lamented about having to move out soon from her apt because she and her bf (who pays most of the rent) might be splitting up. she also said she wasn't doing as well at her new job as she had hoped. It was unfortunate that she was going through a tough time but I told her that she wasn't completely helpless, and that she still had options. its difficult for me to hear about people going through a tough time because I want to be able to change that, even if im not always in the position to do so. we did end on a good note and she seemed happy about seeing me which was nice. I am happy and grateful for the friends and the freedom I have. they don't always show me affection in the way I want but they do show it how they can, which I acknowledge and cherish.
