“A Game Of Angels & Devils”
Warnings: Smut, it’s smut, pure smut. Swearing and maybe some violence but mainly smut
Pairings: Demon!Dean x female angel!reader
Summary: Dean is a demon, and he’s loose in the bunker with Castiel’s angels sister.
Word Count: 1,781
Tumblr media
Castiel always had a rough relationship with the other angels, you were the only one he really saw as a sibling. You always stood by him no matter what, so when he asked you to help with Dean, his best friend, you jumped at the chance. But Dean was also a legend, to heaven and hell. And now that he’s a demon, you couldn’t wait. You couldn’t wait to meet him, you couldn’t wait to see what he was capable of.
Castiel and Sam were out of the bunker while Dean was trapped in a chair, the same one previously used to hold Crowley. You were left alone with Dean. Castiel had other things to deal, and Sam went off to get groceries. Nobody anticipated that the attempt to cure Dean would turn out this way.
The cure of course, is human blood. But unfortunately Dean had just enough human in him to escape, and enough demon in him to come for your ass. And when you saw he’d escape, you were terrified. After everything that happened with the angels and heaven, you knew you couldn’t stand a chance against Dean Winchester.
So here you are now, walking down the halls, as Dean’s voice booms through the bunker, “Y/N! I’m coming for you!” Your steps are quiet as to not draw any attention while you look for a place to hide. The only place you can think of is under a bed, and the bed happens to be in Dean’s room. You try to quiet your breathing down, covering your mouth. You know you’d have to keep Dean from escaping but right now he’s after one thing: you. Dean didn’t like angels much before, except for Cas. All other angels were dicks. Dean being a demon means all that hatred is on another level.
“Come on Y/N, I just want to have some fun. Let’s play a game!” his voice sends shivers down your spine. You know he’s going to hunt you down and he’s not quitting any time soon. Of course you wanted to see what he was capable of but not with him roaming
The clicking of his boots on the bunker floor get louder as he gets closer. You see him entering the room, walking closer to his bed. You hold your breath, scared to what he would do. And then he crouches, and you see him looking right into your eyes.
“Fuck,” you breathe out, as he grabs your shoulders and pulls you out from under the bed.
“There you are, princess. I was beginning to think you were hiding from me,” he taunts you. His smirk is playful but his eyes are determined.
“You got me, what now, Dean?” you look up at your brother’s best friend. You keep your voice steady and refuse to let Dean see the fear in your eyes.
“I can torture you, use you to get what I want out of Sammy and Cas,” he explains. But what did he want, other than to kill all three of you?
“Yeah except you’ve got more human blood in you now. You’re not as strong,” you spit. You can’t tell if you’re being brave or stupid, talking to Dean like this.
He glares at you, grabbing you by the shirt. He may not be so strong for a demon, but he’s Dean Winchester, so he’s strong enough. And so you are scared, of course you are scared. But a small part of you is excited too.
“I’d be careful if I were you, princess. Watch your mouth.”
You don’t wait for him to do anything, as your knee goes straight for between his legs. He lets go of you and hunches over in pain.
“You’re going to regret that,” he growls.
You attempt to run off but he grabs your arm and pulls you back, before throwing you on his bed. You lay on your back, looking at him, as he walks closer to you. His eyes burn with anger, but there’s another feeling mixed in there that you can’t quite place.
“You know, we never got along,” Dean starts, as he gets on top of you. “It’s a shame, your Cas’ sister, I’m his best friend, we should get along.”
“Yeah I’m going to get along with the guy who toys around with my brother, he ruined his reputation with heaven, he was a good soldier of heaven, and then you happened,” you lecture Dean. You’ve always felt like Dean ruined Cas.
“And yet here you are, helping him,” Dean smirks. Dean climbs onto his bed, crawling on top of you.
“He was my mentor, I’ve been by his side for years and years. He’s my family.”
“And he’s my best friend. Or was, before all this happened.”
You sigh, looking up at the demon on top of you. Your breathing is heavy, as you stare into his eyes. He smirks at you, leaning down. You don’t know what to say or do, as he gets closer to your ear.
“I think I have another idea on what I want to do with you,” he whispers in your ear, causing you to tense up.
You look down at his hand, unzipping your jeans. You gently gasp as his hand goes in your panties and his middle finger finds your clit. You bite your lip, feeling your body relax under his touch. His lips brush against the skin of your neck, before he starts kissing it.
“We may not get along but you have no idea how much I’ve wanted to do this with you, Y/N. Way before all this happened actually. And now, as a demon, ruining your angelic innocence,” you feel his breath on your neck.
“Oh, honey, I may be an angel but I’m not innocent,” you look back up into his eyes.
His eyes are dark with lust, as he sits up, pulling your pants off, and then your panties. As he does, you throw off your shirt and quickly undo your bra and toss it to the side. Dean’s hands roam up and down your body, before he takes off his own clothes, and positioning himself to enter you.
“I’m going to make you my bitch,” he tells you.
“I’d like to see you try.”
And with that, he pushes himself inside you, and you let out a moan. He pounds into you, holding your hands above your head, pinning them to his bed. With his other hand, he grabs your thigh, wrapping your leg around his waist, allowing him to go in deeper. He’s hitting your sweet spot, over and over, but you can’t let him just win like this.
You break free from his grasp, and roll over, using both of your hands to pin his to the bed, while you take control. Up and down you bounce, causing him to grunt, as he glares at you. You continue to work your magic, and Dean let’s you. No way were you going to let Dean make you his bitch.
“Yeah you like this?” you tease Dean. “I bet you do. You have this tough boy act but really you’re just a little bitch.” Wrong move.
In a second, he’s back on top of you, thrusting fast and hard, hand around your throat. You gasp, moaning. But you still refuse to lose. If this is the game Dean wants to play, you’re playing too.
“Look at you,” Dean says, putting his thumb on your lips. “Be a good little angel and open.”
You comply, and he puts his thumb in your mouth for you to suck, so you do.
“Good angel, taking orders like you should.”
You smirk, his finger still in your mouth, as you get an idea. You bite his thumb, and he pulls it out, growling. He grabs your face, and makes you look into his eyes.
“Did you just fucking bite me?”
“Yes,” you simply answer.
Instead of saying anything, he decides two can play that game. He leans down and bites your neck, gently. Instead of pain you feel bliss, with the mix of the love bites and his length in you sliding in and out.
You’re not going to lie, there always been a sort of attraction to Dean, but in your mind he was always off limits. You didn’t know how your brother felt about Dean, you just knew he was his best friend. But you definitely are not complaining about having sex with Dean.
You wrap your legs around Dean, wanting some sense of control. You want a chance of winning but as you and Dean look into each others eyes, you realize this might end in a draw. And neither of you are complaining.
As your walls tighten around him, he grunts, his lips crashing into yours. You kiss back, holding his face in your hands. He continues fucking you with passion, as you both come closer to your orgasms. His skin hits your clit over and over as he fucks you, pushing you closer to the edge. His finger goes to your clit, rubbing it, bringing you to your orgasm.
He follows shortly after, pulling out and finishing off on your chest, his eyes going black. He knew better than to finish in you. If a half demon/half human kid is dangerous, and a half angel/half human kid is dangerous, you couldn’t only imagine what would happen if there was an offspring of a human and a demon. Dean was smarter than risking releasing something like that upon the world, even as a demon.
You’re both panting, as he lays down next to you. His arm wraps around you, pulling you close. It’s a warm feeling that you didn’t expect from a demon. Maybe enough of Dean was in there, especially with the human blood Sam has been injecting in him. You really don’t know, and you don’t need to know. You just really enjoy being in his arms like this.
“Guess we both lost,” Dean breaks the silence.
“Yeah, and I’m glad we did,” you tell him, turning your body to face him. “Cas is so going to kill you if he finds out.”
“Like he can,” Dean rolls his eyes.
You smile, enjoying the moment. Right now, it doesn’t matter if Cas wouldn’t approve, if Dean is a demon or if you didn’t like him before you met him. It doesn’t matter that you are an angel and all angels were dicks in Dean’s eyes, because you aren’t. In Dean’s eyes, you’re this angel, and as a demon he can see you for what you are. And he is mesmerized.

SUPERNATURAL LUCIFER X FEM!READER
(Reader is referred to as sister)
- You joke around with Lucifer and your brother, Dean, doesn’t like it :)
fluff 😇
1.2k words
Tumblr media
I walked into the room that my brothers were in, "Where's Clarence?"
"Not sure, said he had some angel business to deal with." Dean muttered as he continued to stare at his laptop screen. I sighed and fell down onto one of the chairs "I'm booorreedd." I whined and nobody said anything, "Ok I guess I'll go annnd.." I paused while I thought about what to do, "Find a case." Normally they would 'advise' not to because it could be dangerous on my own, but they didn't even look up. Maybe I should elaborate, "Actually you know what? I'm gonna go find a vamps nest." Ok they definitely wouldn't let me go alone. But I still got no answer.
"Ignore everything I just said, I can't be bothered. I think, I'm just gonna go talk to one of the angels." I hoped that would get their attention considering they dislike most of them. "Hey, I should go talk to the devil, I mean he's probably pretty lonely." Ok that must have gotten there attention. Nope, still nothing.
Alright well, "Lucifer. You know? Satan?" That caught their attention and Dean glared at me but I smiled innocently. Sam looked at me over his laptop, "What? Sorry, I'm just trying to figure this out and I feel like I haven't slept in years, did you say something about Lucifer? Has something happened?" I could tell I hit a bit of a nerve by mentioning his name but how else was I supposed to get their attention. "No, well yes I said I should go talk to him 'cause he's probably lonely." I smiled innocently at them again but they didn't look very happy.
"Don't even joke about that. I don't want you anywhere near him." I could tell Dean was serious but I didn't understand why. Well, I did, I knew why. He's killed people, he wanted Sam as a vessel, he tried to start the apocalypse and he is Satan. But I know a side to Lucifer that they don't, a side to him that's not all death and destruction.
I was about to speak but I felt the temperature drop. I saw the panic in Sams face and Dean reached for his gun by instinct. "You called, darling?" Oh joy, Lucifer is here.
"What a pleasant surprise." I turned to face him with the fakest, most cheesiest grin I could manage. "You were thinking off me so damn much that it basically came to me like a prayer, why were you thinking about me, Y/N?" He smirked as he walked closer to us and I rolled my eyes. "I was thinking about how much of an ass you are, my brothers here were agreeing." I smirked right back at him and he scoffed "I know you like me really and you enjoy my company more than anyone else's, you're not fooling anyone." He shrugged slightly like what he had just said was painfully obvious.
"Ok that's enough, I can't take it anymore. Lucifer what the hell are you doing here, really?" Dean looked pretty mad that I was joking around with the devil but who can blame me, he's quite funny when he's not trying to start world war three.
"You act like I'm about to try and start the apocalypse Deany, I mean c'mon, I'm totally over all that now." He smiled like he just told Dean he'd bought him some flowers and baked him a cake. "Right of course, I'm sorry for assuming the worst from the literal devil, you must've just popped in to give me chocolate and watch a movie with us." Dean spoke sarcastically and Lucifer pretended to be offended and shook his head. "Wow. I know you don't like me, but that was harsh. I mean, I really did come here to watch a movie. Not with you exactly, but that is the reason. I can't believe you think so lowly of me Deano." Lucifer matched Deans sarcastic tone and it just pissed my brothers off even more, meanwhile I found it to be good entertainment.
"First of all, stop adding letters onto my name. Secondly, if you mean that you came to watch a movie with my sister? You can forget it. I won't let you get anywhere near her." Aaaaaand protective brother mode is officially on. "I'm already near her." Lucifer scoffed as he walked closer to me and threw his arm around my shoulders. "Dude get your big ass arm off of me." I tried to shrug his arm off but he added another arm so he was giving me a really weird side hug, successfully trapping me in his arms.
However before I could complain anymore, a sudden gunshot echoes throughout the room and it makes me flinch. Lucifer let go of me with a grunt. "Ouch." He pouted like a child that didn't get his own way.
I turned to look at him and realised that Dean had shot him. "Was that really necessary, Dean? I can handle myself against big ole pouty satan over here." I felt him poke me at the insult so I looked back at him to see him still pouting and I giggled. "Yes. It was completely necessary. I told him that I wasn't gonna let him near you, Y/N. I don't like how close you two seem, all buddy-buddy and shit, it's not right. Has he got you under some sorta spell? Do you need help, Y/N? 'Cause I definitely do not have a problem with killing the devil himself." Dean looked between the two of us practically giggling like a pair of school girls.
"Yes Dean, he has me under a very powerful spell." He didn't look impressed with my sarcasm. "Whatever, but you hurt her and I swear I will find a way to end you." And with that promise he left the room. We both looked at Sam and it was pretty awkward for a second before he cleared his throat "Yeah, Well I- erm- I need to carry on with this, so.." He got up and walked out with his laptop.
"Wow. You know, you could be here to kill me and both of my brothers just left me to be murdered." I joked and turned around to face him.
"You know I'd never hurt you though, right? You are one of the very very few humans I can tolerate." His smirk was replaced with a genuine smile as he looked down at me. "I know." I nodded and it was quite for a moment as I looked at him, taking in his features. Damn, his eyes are so pretty and his hair looks so fluffy, I want to just run my hands through it so fucking bad.
"So," I cleared my throat like I was trying to get rid of the tension in the room. "What movie do you wanna watch, Luci?" My eyes widened slightly as I realised what I had called him, but it was too late, he had already heard it. "'Luci' huh?" I was about to start apologetically rambling before I noticed a grin spread across his face. "I like it, but only from you. I don't want some demon walking around calling me 'Luci ', it'll ruin my reputation." He chuckled, "Oh and I'm 99.9% sure that you forgot I can read your thoughts, your eyes are pretty too." His smirk was back as he cockily walked out of the room, leaving me stood on my own in embarrassment.

belphegor possesses jacks body, reader who is grieving jacks death finds comfort in belphegor? maybe a bit of a crush..
Close As Strangers
Belphegor/GN!Reader
Author note: I tried to keep the exact nature of Jack/Readers relationship ambiguous, so you can fill in the blank as you please. Similar with Bel/Reader, but it has very much enemies to friends/lovers vibes.
Rating: Teen +
Genre: Hurt/comfort, angst
Words: 1624
Tumblr media
TW: Grief, arguing, manipulation, crying, very minor mentions of gore, mentions of death, unhealthy coping mechanisms.
Please remember: You are allowed to make a big deal out of things that are really big to you.
Tumblr media
“See something you like?” Your heart feels hollow as you watch him wiggle his Jack's brows at you. Blackened, bloody skin peeks out from the top of his sunglasses. His words, his movements, the whole thing made you feel sick.
“No.” You respond curtly, intending to stop there. You can’t help the bitter word vomit that continues. “Just you, defiling the body of someone I love.”
Belphegor inhales through his teeth in mock pain. Not a hint of sympathy or remorse. When he alters his stride to walk closer to you and drapes an arm over your shoulders, you’re too shocked by his audacity to pull away.
“You know, babe, I think I know a way to help you feel better about all this.” He says, offering you a smile that is too sharp, too smug for Jack's face.
“What?” You ask, your eyes darting back and forth between his face and his unwelcome arm.
With a gesture to his Jack's body, he answers, “You could love me.”
You scoff, ready to respond with something harsh and mean, but when you look at his face again, his expression has changed. His head tilted back, chin pointed out, mouth closed and stretched into a familiar smile. There’s that empty feeling again. You know that’s not Jack, but that’s his face, his smile, and at that moment, you couldn’t snap at him like that.
Before you can think of a response, you’re both distracted by the sound of a shotgun being cocked. Dean, who had been walking a few paces behind, presses the barrel of his gun between Belphegor’s shoulder blades.
“Get your arm off them and keep walking.” It’s an empty threat, and all three of you know it.
Dean wouldn’t shoot Jacks's body any more than you could insult it. Even if he did, it wouldn’t do anything.
Regardless, Belphegor, with a smirk, releases you and picks up his pace, but not without raising those scorched brows at you one last time. “I like it when he’s bossy.”
“If we’re all gonna work together, you’ve got to shut up.” You call after him, slowing your footsteps until you fall in line with Dean.
“Awwwh, I’m starting to have an effect on you.” He calls back, refusing to give you the last word, and you concede, crossing your arms over your chest and walking in silence.
Tumblr media
"Are you thinking about me?” The sound of Belphegor’s Jack's voice so close to your ear, the feel of his unnatural breath against your skin makes you almost jump out of your skin, makes your body tingle in a way it definitely shouldn’t have. “Is that why you're so unfocused?"
"You wish.” You retort, snapping your head to face him. Admittedly, you had been slacking off, unable to keep your mind off the chaos that had been the last few days. Particularly Jack.
Belphegor doesn’t appear offended by your response. Hands in pockets he offers you a casual shrug before stepping back and leaning against the nearest wall. The two of you were alone, guarding the back entrance of the High School. There had been a lot of debate about who would be ‘left with’ who and for what purposes. It seemed nobody wanted to leave you alone with Belphegor, but nobody else wanted to be stuck with him either.
“What were you thinking about then?” He asks.
Without processing, without thinking clearly, you reply. “You. No, I mean Jack. I was thinking about Jack.”
“Am I sensing a little Freudian slip?” That smile is back, the one that’s too much for Jack. But for a moment, you think to yourself that it actually looks attractive in a roguish sort of way.
Feeling flushed and guilty at your laps of judgement you look away. Hiding your expression. “No. It’s just… I don’t know.”
“It’s just hard to differentiate us sometimes?” He offers, in a tone much softer than you’d come to expect. You know he has self-awareness, but you’re surprised he’s showing it. When you nod your confirmation, he continues; “It must be hard. I mean, I’ve seen loads of people die, probably millions, killed most of ‘em. But no one that I ever cared about. At least, not for a loooooooong time. I don’t really remember it.”
When you hear his feet against the concrete you watch him from the corner of your eye. It only takes a few steps before he’s in your personal space again, but he’s slow and calm. His face is solemn as he gently places a hand on your shoulder. You think he’s trying to comfort you, maybe? But it all feels wrong.
“I’m just saying, I can tell the two of you had some kind of connection. If you want to talk about it, I-”
“Stop.” You shrug his hand off and turn your back to him completely.
“Stop what?” You don’t know if he’s faking it to play with you or not, but the confusion and the hint of worry in his voice, Jack's voice stings.
“Stop being nice to me.”
“Fine, maybe you didn’t care about him all that much.” The softness and uncertainty is gone in an instant, replaced with pure venom.
You’re grateful your back is to him. It takes everything in you not to spin around and go off on him. A part of you knows you’d likely lose your resolve the moment you look at him anyway; you’re inches away from the brink of tears already.
“Oh, blow me!” Is all you can muster.
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” Malice, all malice. It sounds so wrong.
“I’m gonna sweep the building.” This is too much, and you can’t cope. You need to clear your head. “Don’t follow me. In fact, just don’t move.”
You don’t turn to look at him as you leave, if he says anything, you don’t listen.
Tumblr media
You hadn’t told the Winchesters or Castiel about your spat the night before. So here you were, patrolling quarantine with Belphegor. Alone. Again. You’re certain any one of them would swap with you if you asked, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to do it. They were hurting too. Besides, you figured after last night that Belphegor and you needed some kind of conflict resolution; you were just surprised when he broached it first.
“You haven’t insulted me all morning.” Belphegor nudges your shoulder with his own, and you can’t help the quiet chuckle that escapes you. “What’s up?”
“No… Yeah.” You’re not really sure what to say, so you offer him the only thing you know for sure. “My head is a mess right now.”
“I know.” He gives you that relaxed shrug you’ve begun to associate with him. There’s no way of knowing how earnest he’s being, but he seems surprisingly understanding, for a demon at least. “This whole situation is a mess, and you’re grieving. Can’t blame you.”
“Thanks. And thank you for helping us.” You smile at him, it’s a weak smile, but he smiles back and that tingle from last night returns. “I’m sorry I snapped at you.”
“I know one way you can make it up to me.” You hold your breath in apprehension. Certain he was about to spoil the moment. “You can talk to me.”
Still tense from your moment of dread, you respond immediately and defensively, “We are talking.”
Clearly unbothered by your cautious reply, Belphegor goes on, “You can talk to me about Jack. It's not good to keep it all bottled up.”
You feel bad for assuming the worst. You’ve felt bad for a long time. How good would it feel to get some of that off your chest? How easy would it be to talk to Jack about it? Only, this isn’t Jack. This is Belphegor, who, for all his apparent kindness, is still a stranger. A dangerous stranger.
“I really don’t think I can do that.” The tingle on your skin is gone, replaced by the ever-lingering emptiness.
“Why?” The familiar venom creeps back into his tone.
“Because y-” As much as you want to tell him it’s because you can’t trust him, you don’t. You can't afford to lose his assistance right now. “Why do you want me to?”
“Oh what? Because I’m a demon I can’t care about you? Is that it? I find that offensive.” There’s a tinge of humour in his voice, but you’re still shocked by how accurately he hit the hammer on the nail. So shocked, in fact, that your only response is to stare at him slack-jawed. “You don’t have to be strong and good all the time, you know? Let me help you. I’m begging you to let me help you.”
He stops his strides, forcing you to halt with him and turns to look at you straight on, jaw clenched as he impatiently waits for you to say something. Anything.
In that moment, with explicit permission to be vulnerable, the tears you’d held back last night, the tears you’d been holding back for a long time, finally come out. It starts slow, a tear rolls down each cheek, and you sniff to try and hold them back. You press your jacket sleeve to your eyes, but for every tear you soak up, another falls, until you’re heart-pounding, blurry-eyed sobbing.
When you feel Belphegor’s cold hands on you, you don’t pull away. You let him come close, you let him cup your face and use his thumb to wipe your tears, you let him guide you until you're chest-to-chest, your face cradled in the crook of his neck, you let him caress your neck and rub your back. You let him Jack lean down to whisper in your ear. “It’s okay. I’m here, don’t worry.”

Thinking about 4.11 “Family Remains” and how Dean keeps insisting to Brian (the dad) that he will save Brian’s family—that he will put himself at risk for them and he will find Danny.
Eventually, Brian asks Dean straight up why he cares so much—why he's willing to put himself at such risk for them. Dean doesn’t get to answer.
We know from the start of the episode that Dean has been hunting non-stop to cope with his trauma. That's made pretty obvious at the beginning of the episode:
SAM: What are you doing? DEAN: What's it look like I'm doing? SAM: Like you're looking for a job. DEAN: Yahtzee. SAM: We just finished a job like two hours ago. DEAN: Adrenaline's still pumping, I guess. So, what do you think... Cedar Rapids, Tulsa, or Chi-Town? SAM: I am all for working. I really am. But you got us chasing cases nonstop for like a month now. We need sleep. DEAN: Yeah, we can sleep when we're dead. SAM: You're exhausted, Dean. DEAN: I'm good. SAM: No, you're not. You're running on fumes, and you can't run forever. DEAN: And what am I running from? SAM: From what you told me. Or are we pretending that never happened?
We've seen this behavior from Sam before too—Sam pushing back to back hunts in 1.19-1.20 to cope with his anger, and in 2.11 (due to guilt over Ava) and in 2.19 to deal with Madison's death, and in 3.11 to deal with Dean's (temporary) death. We'll see it in the future too—the brothers displaying a need to work to get through something.
So it’s easy to say Dean is simply pushing himself to "be the hero" in 4.11 because of guilt about Hell and leave it at that. I do think Dean believes in atonement (we get hints about this in 4.05), but I think the reason Dean insists on being the person to jump down in the first hole they find instead of Ted, and then insists on going down the second compartment to find Danny when Brian is ready to do it, is also because Dean has a feeling they're going to have to kill this girl, and however scary she may be—however violent—she's also a victim of horrific abuse, and taking a life is always a serious thing. So Dean's trying to spare Brian from that trauma.
Dean doesn’t want Brian to have to take a life and (no matter how justified the kill) feel like a monster. Dean already does feel like a monster (no matter how justified his actions were, no matter how understandable it was because it was born from decades of torture... he still feels and deals with terrible guilt). So Dean takes on the highest risks and puts himself on the front line, upping the chance that if anyone has to do any killing tonight, it'll be him.
Dean does end up killing the boy in the walls in self defense, and the camera focuses on Dean staring at his body as Sam enters, while a sad theme plays in the background, and then we get this look from Dean:
Tumblr media
This is the first time in the series that either brother kills a human (besides a demon meatsuit) and a teenager at that, so there's a special weight to it.
But Brian still ends up killing the girl in the walls immediately after this, and that scene is one of the more horrifying ones, because it's shot in a way that casts Brian as the monster lurking in the dark.
Earlier in the episode, we establish the horror of the anticipation of having ones legs grabbed.
DEAN finds a hole in the floor and looks through. TED: You're not going down there. DEAN: Well, do you want to? TED says nothing. DEAN starts down. DEAN: Please nobody grab my leg. Please nobody grab my leg.
And when Brian attacks the girl in the walls, from the perspective of his wife Susan and his daughter Kate, all we see is the girl suddenly get dragged out into the dark by the legs.
Tumblr media
Then we focus on Susan and Kate as they listen in terror to the sound of her screaming as she's stabbed over and over and over.
Tumblr media
When Brian knocks on the door they jump and scream.
Tumblr media
After Susan opens the door for Brian, she backs away from him almost warily.
Tumblr media
They see the knife—the blood on his hands and clothes.
Tumblr media
Brian saved them, but he's shot as the monster who reaches out and grabs you by the legs. We cast the girl in the walls as a smaller monster (ultimately just a child who can easily be overpowered) snatched up in the jaws of a much bigger fish. All despite the fact that Brian did what he had to do.
SAM: You okay? DEAN: You know, I felt for those sons of bitches back there. Lifelong torture turns you into something like that. SAM: You were in hell, Dean. Look, maybe you did what you did there, but you're not them. They were barely human. DEAN: Yeah, you're right. I wasn't like them. I was worse.

I wanted to read something different from my usual go-to, and I had this story in my To Be Read 'pile' for a while, so I read chapter 1! I can't wait to read chapter 2. It's really well-written and the sexy times are awesome.

Full of Grace by ilovehowyouletmefall (AO3)
I love this fic. I have read this thing so many times. I love the intimacy and how they develop organically. How Cas just takes why Dean gives and it’s how it should be in my head. It’s sweet and fluffy. I wish Dean would stop calling Cas “pal” as if he’s fucking Mickey Mouse and Pluto but it’s amazing. I return to it a lot. It’s a comforting story that deals with mental health and I’m glad it’s set in heaven.
Cuddle Deprivation by @destielshipper4cas
This is sooo good. It’s an incubus that feeds off affection and emotions through touch. It is so good. So fluff, Castiel and Dean confused about the different cultures, which I think is a great element because it's a common problem with relationships from people of different countries or even skin color at times. Must read.

This is the ending to the series I wanted.
Destiel's 1st Time by @chaoticmotherofall
Holy shit. Wow, primal. Rawr. Must read smut. I think it’s the scene most of the fandom would want to see if they could. Sorry, not sorry.
Dean's Delights by Redamber79 (AO3)
Destiel. Baker Dean. Can smell each other through blockers. Insecure Cas. Love it! He just wants to eat Dean up and kind of does! True mates are delicious, don’t ya think?
The Company by CasCase (AO3)
You’re gonna get intimidated by the language of ballet vocab but don’t worry, it isn’t important. It’s such an amazing love story and so well written. Wow. There is even artwork of the seriously important emotional scenes that just make it so much better. Omg! I wish this was a fucking movie because it’d be gorgeous!
Room for Two (The Mattress AU) by @almassi
Schmoopy fluffiness. I love it! I also love that Cas actually gets everything but doesn’t show it. Lol. He got the references.
truly there's nobody for you but me by Abi_in_the_Cosmos (AO3)
Omfg, hotness. Cas so teasing Dean. The shorts are used. The shorts in the BTS on the show of Jensen wearing denim short shorts, which of course Dean says they exist for an in-story reason. I don’t care. It’s great.
this heart and flesh shall fail by ValandraWrites (AO3)
Monsterfucker story, technically. Great story. Dean is not technically underaged despite what it says. Twist ending. Beautiful story with a sexy but sad twist.
The Biological Ways by @sitruunavohveli
Three words: Accidental office romance Destiel! A/b/o! Love it. Love that it’s Charlie too. Yay! I also am a huge fan of this author’s works. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them and they’re just amazing to work with. Please check them out.
Weighted by amireal, tiamatv (AO3)
I absolutely love this fic because I actually sleep with a weighted blanket and when my kids are sick, they love their own. I even have one in the car. It’s light but enough to feel it. This is just so fluffy and romantic all thanks to our favorite redhead introducing weighted blankets which helps so much. It’s been shown to even help babies but blankets aren’t great for them. Anyway, they’re so cute and that scene where Dean opens his eyes all slow and gentle with “hey”, just broke me. My husband and I do that periodically and it just means more snuggles and sleep. lol. Poor Castiel thinking he couldn’t have Dean which I understand since Dean has said so much he is straight or implied it rather often. Ugh. This was done so well. Thank you both!

When There's Only You by AnOddSock (AO3)
It's such a visceral and extremely well-written story, dark and full of intense angst but at the same time it highlights that profound tenderness and affection between Sam and Dean. The whole "there is no me if there is no you". I was on the edge of my seat all the way through, my heart breaking for the brothers in such a delightful way. This fic is a great rollercoaster ride, like a dark porn with a substantial amount of well-thought-out plot. Heed the tags though... Your feels might not come out intact.

She Thought She Was Normal (series) by @aylacavebear
This is @Aylacavebear's first fic she's putting out into the wild and it's going to be a long multi-chapter journey. What a way to start! This first chapter takes us to poor Maria as a child, who has just lost her mother to a yellow-eyed demon, and Bobby sets her and her Dad up with Sam and Dean. Can't wait to see the whole journey!
Cuddle Deprivation by @destielshipper4cas
This was adorable!! The whole concept of cuddlibus was so cute and I loved when both Dean and Cas were trying to get more out of the relationship but thinking the other didn't want it. And including Sam's cuddlibus daughter was also adorable
Power Grows out of the Barrel of a Gun by Alaisabel (AO3)
I absolutely loved this AU. There are so many twists and turns and I had such a fun time working out what was going on. Dean is so anti-authority and he ends up in a relationship with Cas, a cop.

Fluffy Faerie Tales (series) by @ladylilithprime
This universe and the characters in it are so fascinating! Sam and Dean are half-fae, and Jimmy and Cas have a backstory that is wildly different than anything else I've ever read! (No spoilers!) Sam/Cas/Jimmy is a threesome I've never read before, I don't think, and I'm loving it. So far, all of these stories are filled with plenty of fluff, and the perfect way to end my day. Sweet dreams of faeries and friends are always welcome!
Cuddle Deprivation and Cuddlibus by @destielshipper4cas
I am now OBSESSED with the idea of cuddlibi!!! Like those who have nominated this story above, I find this idea adorable and sweet. And Cas is just SO SWEET! And there's so much delicious pining in both of these stories!! I now want to read ALL the cuddlibus stories!!

Tumblr media
Summary: Ivonne Rainer hadn’t met Dean Winchester in 2006 after he was hit by a car. No, this time, this universe, they met in 2010, when the whole Apocalypse deal started and Dean was made leader of one of the only remaining survival camps in America. Little did he know, one random raid would change everything.
MASTERLIST
RETRIEVAL
“So…” I was approached by woman my age, her brown hair tied up in a sleek ponytail. “you must be the new arrival. Dean really has a problem with you.”
I cocked a rifle, passing it to another camper, James Rhodes, who took it, checked it and nodded, seemingly impressed. “That’s me, yeah.” I nodded, folding my arms. “Though I’m usually known as Ivy.”
“Ivy.” She repeated, then held her hand out with a smile. “Risa.”
“Nice to meet you.” I responded with a small smile twitching at my lips, then I saw her still-outstretched hand and shook it hurriedly.
“Woah, quite the grip.” She grinned as I let go.
“Oh, uh, sorry.” I chuckled nervously.
“Nah, you’re good.” Then she smiled again. “I don’t see what Dean meant about you being a pain in the ass. You seem like you aren’t.”
“Just depends on who I’m hangin’ with.”
“Touché. Dean can be an irritating S.O.B, but you learn to ignore when he’s being a douche after a while.”
“Promise?” I smirked, making her laugh. I laughed too, feeling at ease around this… Risa.
“Hey, uh, Risa?” James interrupted the conversation, slinging a gun clip holster on his chest. “I’m about to head out with the squad to Missouri. I know the boss told me to keep an eye on Ivy here, but-“
“Oh, so I need surveillance now?” I raised an eyebrow, pissed off. “This guy’s askin’ to get decked.”
“Believe me, he is, but it’s just how Dean rolls.” Risa chuckled, then led me away. “You’ll have a much better time hanging around me. I’ll introduce you to the campers, get you started on something, and we’ll all be smiles and giggles.”
“I hope not.” I laughed.
“Yeah, neither do I.” She grinned. “Just a few things. Stay away from the hippie cabin at 3 o’clock, it gets hot an’ heavy in there and nobody wants to hear it. If you wanna earn Dean’s trust, you have to save his ass, but he doesn’t let anyone save his ass so you just kiss that sweet thing goodbye. And one last thing…” She rounded on me, “can you shoot?”
“I’ll fire a bullseye if you give me a target.”
”Alright.” She picked up a shotgun, handing it to me. “There’s a red dot on the wall behind you. Don’t think, just shoot.” I immediately spun around, my eyes locking onto the red dot. The moment I got a visual, I pulled the trigger, hitting it dead on. “Damn!”
“Eh, it’s nothin’.” I chuckled, handing the gun back.
“You’re a damn good shot, I mean, that was-“
“Suicide!” A man who was only an inch taller than me popped up, looking outraged. “Do you know what Dean’s gonna say when he sees a bullet missing-“ His eyes landed on me, and he looked confused. “Risa, who is this?”
“Right, I forgot to mention.” Risa gestured to me with a grimace. “Chuck, this is Ivonne Rainer, she’s new here. Ivy, this is Chuck ‘Prophet of the Lord’ Shirley. However, a prophet isn’t much use in an apocalypse. They’re only gonna spell D-O-O-M.”
“At least I’m the rations organiser! What are you, the boss’ woman?”
“Exactly.” Risa smirked before tapping me on the shoulder, leading me away. “That’s Chuck for you. He gets a bit sensitive sometimes. Anyway, Dean gets really touchy with the supplies and stuff, goes through ‘em himself to make sure nothin’s missing.”
“If he’s gonna freak out over a bullet, give me a bit o’ metal and a heat source, I’ll forge a new one.” I grinned, and Risa raised her eyebrows.
Tumblr media
I held up a freshly-forged bullet, examining it for a second before putting it in the cartridge. Risa looked on in surprise, and nodded in disbelief. “You did it.”
“Yep.” I nodded, replacing the cartridge in the gun and cocking it before throwing it aside. “I’m prepared in a dire sitch. The boss won’t suspect a thing, so you’re safe.”
“My god, you’re amazing.” She laughed in disbelief, looking at me in awe. “Just where did Dean dig you up from, huh, lifesaver?”
“Jersey City.” I smiled.
“Wait- that’s a Croat hotspot.” She sat up suddenly, her jaw dropping. “How long were you there?”
“Two years.”
“And you survived?! No bites? You’re not one of ‘em, right?”
“I’m immune.” I shrugged, frowning a bit. “Never figured out why, but I’ve been bitten at, scratched, and never came out with a single goddamn piece of sulphur in my blood. It’s relievin’, but unsettlin’.”
“Unsettling? That’s a damn blessing.”
“It’s that I don’t know where they come from.” I sighed, looking down. “They just came to me when I was nineteen. No explanation, no nothin’, all I knew is that they were there.”
“Damn, that’s…” She trailed off, frowning. “that’s rough.”
“I lived, clearly.” I chuckled. “Besides, I had my uncle to help with the worst of it. Until we got separated, and I had to quite literally fend for myself out there.”
We sat in silence for a moment, which was all I needed, if I’m bein’ honest.
Tumblr media
“So…” I heard someone chuckle, and I turned to see James. “I heard you were the new thing pissing Dean Winchester off.”
“That’s me.” I smirked. “And I wear that like a badge of honour.” Then I looked him up and down, thinking. Dude had a really good body, that was enough to tell under the strained khaki shirt that made his frame look more impressive and complimented his green eyes, paired with fluffy black hair. “Nice build. You ex-military or somethin’?”
“Uh, no.” He chuckled nervously, running a hand through his hair. “I used to be a detective sergeant. The muscles just came with the job.”
“You used to be a cop?” I grinned, then saluted jokingly. “Thanks for your service.”
“No problem. What about you? Any job before this?”
“Hunting, and more hunting, and more hunting-“
“With hunting as the cherry on top.” He joked.
“That’s right.”
“James!” Chuck came running up, frantically looking at a clipboard. “I’d ask Dean, but he’s out on a mission. We’re running low on edibles, how should we ration?”
“Women and children first.” James answered instantly, and I listened carefully. “Then ration with the elders, afterwards divvy it out to the rest.”
“Wait, Chuck,” I frowned, “how much is left? How much food?”
”Not enough to last a week.” Chuck replied.
“Then rationin’ it out is gonna be extremely difficult. With the amount of people in this camp and enough food to last a week, the women and children are gonna have everythin’.” I frowned. “You need to send out a squad for supply retrieval. Nearest abundance of food I know’s in Missouri.”
“We need Dean’s permission for that.” James raised an eyebrow, turning to me. “And he’s on a mission, left this mornin’.”
“Not nearly enough time. He’s hittin’ a Croat hotspot, he could be back after a week and by that time we’ll be in crisis. Scramble a team of semi-automatic experts, take a Jeep, hit Missouri, it’s the only option.”
“The boss is gonna be pissed.” Chuck scoffed. “And how do we know your plan is valid?”
“It actually works.” James agreed, nodding with a disbelieving look. “We’ve got enough men on hand to form a scavenge team, and Missouri’s the nearest state that we haven’t hit and isn’t a Croat infested wasteland.”
“Not my fault if your ass gets busted by Dean.”
“I don’t think it matters.” I retorted. “If people are starvin’, you need to do what’s necessary, not what the doctor ordered. Get a team together and send it out, see if I’m wrong.”
“You are.”
“Try me.”
Tumblr media
Winchester’s Jeep came back a week later with the med supplies, unloading them quickly. I looked up from where I was busy hauling a duffel bag, and the first thing he noticed was the people eating in a corner, his eyebrow raising. Then he turned to Chuck, conversing with him for a moment before I pinpointed the exact moment he saw red. His nostrils flared, jaw clenching along with his fist. I turned to James, sharing a look with him.
We’re screwed.
“JAMES!” Winchester yelled, now sipping a beer can. “RAINER! YOUR ASSES, MY TENT, NOW!” I rolled my eyes, running a hand through my hair as Risa whistled lowly.
“Boss man seems mad.” She whispered. “Better go before he gets more pissed off. I’ll take that.” She took a hold of the duffel bag, and James and I made our way into Winchester’s tent, where he was standing there, cocking his rifle in a way that would seem threatening to a wuss.
“You.” He pointed at James, who instantly stood straighter, the latter’s Adam’s apple bobbing. “You’re my second for a reason. Without contacting me, you authorised a raid that could have gone south so quickly. What got into you, huh?! Are you thick? Or a dumbass?”
“With all due respect, boss, we would have starved.” James answered calmly, which seemed to aggravate Winchester even more.
“That’s besides the point! What if we’d lost men? If someone had gotten turned? That blood would be on your hands, no one else’s!”
“With absolutely no respect whatsoever, I think he made a good call.” I stepped in with a frown, folding my arms.
“I’m getting to you.” He snapped, pointing at me before rounding back on James. However, I wasn’t gonna take that for an answer.
“I’m afraid you‘ll have to deal with me now.” I retorted, setting my jaw. “Fact remains that I suggested the only plan that worked in your absence when you were gone a week, and your second in command, the one who’s makin’ the decisions when you’re not here, led a squad, and they got back. Alive. Now people have food and water and they can remain sane. I don’t see how that’s a problem for you, or anyone, for that matter.”
“Shut up.”
“Ooh, make me.”
He pulled his gun out, pointing it at me. “Do not make me pull this trigger-“
“Dean!” James yelled, stepping in front of me. “Are you insane?!”
“She’s a smartass!”
“Hey, hey, put it down!”
“You don’t give the orders!”
“To hell with orders!” James retaliated, making me raise an eyebrow. Damn, boy. “She helped. She made the layout for the strike squad. She’s a smartass, sure, but she’s a useful smartass. A really damn useful one, because we could use an immune and/or psychic person right now.”
“All the more reason for me to blow her brains out. She’s a goddamn psychic, and I haven’t had the best experiences with those bastards.”
“Just see goddamn reason!” He persisted, holding his hands out. “Look, if she starts to go insane, or whatever it is happened with the rest of people like her, I’ll shoot her myself.”
I snorted. “As if you could-“
“Work with me here.”
“Fine.”
“Just…” James left a pause as he tried to find the words, “give her a chance.” Winchester paused for a moment, then lowered the gun, not without giving me a steely warning look.
“Ok.” He nodded, glancing at me briefly, “But you’re keepin’ her in check. If she steps out of line, it’s your ass.”
“Again, with no due respect, I can handle myself.” I scoffed. “You don’t need to post a bodyguard on me every five seconds.”
He let out a dark chuckle, his lips pursing when he stopped. “You’re actin’ like you have a choice.”
“Oh, yeah, I do.” I nodded. “Cause you’re in no position to order me around, since there’s clearly a power imbalance here.”
The words made him stop and rethink, and then he gritted his teeth. “Get out.”
“Gladly.” I smirked, walking out gratefully, happy to be away from that- “Douchebag.”
“Jackass.” Dean growled under his breath.
Well, that couldn’t have gone better.

SAM WINCHESTER HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
Sam Winchester is left handed.
He is lactose intolerant, which isn't confirmed but is also my headcanon and I am keeping it because I can.
He enjoys forensics, chemistry, law, english and theater - particularly law and forensics, but is really skilled in english which is mostly canon.
Not a huge fan of tattoos, but still got his along with Dean after Sam got possessed by Meg.
His favorite scent is grass and old books. He just finds it comforting and reminds him back of Stanford, when he and Jess would sit together under a tree, on the grass, reading books. Total silence, but still no time was being wasted.
He can't enjoy being around cats. He just doesn't like them. There isn't really a reason or a trauma behind it. He sees a cat, he keeps his distance if he is given the chance.
Sam feels relatively anxious if he can't understand something. This will sometimes cause him to chew on his nails or even obsess over the problem in question to no end.
The reason his wifi is exceptionally good is because he actually befriended a witch. The deal was an essay in exchange for all wifi bars anytime he needed. This isn't my headcanon but I love it.
He is able to draw really well, but only when he has visions about it.
Sam sleeps mostly laying on his stomach but sometimes feels comfortable sleeping on his right side.
Mostly vegetarian - once or twice he will break the rule but he likes to keep to that diet.
He actively searches hunting lore. He doesn't fully hate hunting itself. He just hates not being given the choice.
This is more canon than not, but if you want to read Sam Winchester's emotions, look at his eyes. What his face won't show, his eyes will immediately show as much as he tries to hide it.
Sam can't stand to talk about himself without talking about other people's problem's first. The moment he tries, he finds himself struggling to get the words out.
He is non-binary bisexual, but really can't care much about the labels.
He will always finish what he starts and avoids making promises he can't keep.
Sam absolutely loves dogs and if he can, he will stop to pet one.
Sam's favorite colors are powder blue, brown, white, black and gray-green and his favorite season is autumn
He seeks control for himself. He needs to be able to feel in control of his life, thoughts and actions, since people are always depriving him of that, which then becomes an issue with the entire Ruby situation (she made him think he was in control).
Sam's playlist is very strange. He'll listen to Bon Jovi, Amanda Palmer, Celine Dion, but would probably enjoy some styles of classic romantic music or baroque on certain days.
He's the type that would listen to christmas songs in June. Especially Frank Sinatra.
He is sometimes able to sense ghosts in his presence - this has been something that he's felt since he was a kid but had nobody to tell (he feared Dean would be upset with him)
He would definitely shamelessly listen to Adele.
Jess taught Sam how to knit, or at least started teaching him.
Sam is actually a decent cook.
Sam's friend group at Stanford was Luis, Jess, Brady, Zach and Rebecca.
They sometimes went over to Zach's and Rebecca's just to play Mario Kart and watch movies all day after their exams.
Their group photos burned down along with Jess so Sam never had the chance to retrieve them.
Sam was actually really short until he turned 17-18. His growth spurt came out of nowhere.
Sam had to wear knee braces during most of his time at Stanford.
Autistic with some slight OCD

To further my “Meg calls Sam her little brother” agenda, when Azazel possesses John and tells Dean that he killed his son and exorcised his daughter, he makes a reference to Sam being his son as well. Maybe it’s when Dean is staring at his father’s body and it’s his voice threatening to kill Dean and when Sam starts to struggle to try to help Dean, Azazel turns around to say “Now now, son, I’m not ignoring you, but I need a few minutes to talk to your brother here.” Sam and Dean have other things to worry about and this slips their mind until other demons start referring to him as such as well. And when John goes to make his deal with Azazel and Azazel comments about how if only the boys knew how much their daddy loved them, he adds on something about how Sam is more Azazel’s kid than John, or at least he will be soon enough; maybe this happens when John reveals he’s hidden the truth about the special kids from Sam and Azazel says, “Oh Johnny boy, that’s colder than even I expected. Letting your kid run around searching for answers when you’ve had them all this time. And to think, you’re willing to make a deal for one son but you can’t even tell the other the truth about himself. But then again, Sammy’s more my son than he is yours, isn’t he? Or at least, he will be before long.” John has to weigh Dean’s life against whatever Azazel’s plan is that makes him so sure Sam will be Azazel’s son by the end, and still makes the same choice as in canon, still tells Dean he might have to kill Sam but tells Sam nothing. It still gets revealed to Sam around the time it does, but when Meg reveals she’s possessing Sam, she calls him “our little brother” to Dean; also it’s important to me that Meg genuinely viewed this possession as a sibling bonding activity because she’s a demon. But one demon early in s3, I wanna say in Sin City but I’m not sure, tells Dean that Sam was supposed to take over after Azazel died and now there’s nobody actually in charge down there, so unless Ruby and this demon were lying and Pride was just running his mouth when he talked about how he was supposed to bow to Sam and called him the boyking, Sam was genuinely Azazel’s heir. But then we get to season 5, assuming HBO supernatural would follow the same broad plot, and when they’re in heaven and they see Sam’s memories, Dean talks about how he shouldn’t even be surprised none of Sam’s memories are of their family, after all he’s more Azazel’s son than he is John nowadays—and it is key that Sam and Dean never learn exactly what Azazel said to John, Dean is referring to the blood drinking the season before and all the demons calling Sam Azazel’s kid—and this is Sam’s worst nightmare, that he really is Azazel’s son and Lucifer’s vessel and the heir to the throne of hell and nothing he ever does will ever change that blood in his veins.
But to lighten it up a bit, because this agenda is not solely limited to HBO supernatural, I need a meeting with Sam and Abbadon where she kinda feels him out about maybe Sam taking over, because Azazel was a Prince of Hell who became the king and Abbadon was chosen by Lucifer to be a Knight and she just wants Crowley off the throne so she’s perfectly willing to use the original plan, and Sam stares at her for a solid minute because of all the things he expected from a Knight of Hell, inquiring after his interest in ruling Hell was not one of them. This also means that at any given moment, Crowley’s biggest competition for the throne is Sam, who flatly refuses every time. Abbadon catches up on everything that’s happened since her jump to the future and she learns Sam killed Samuel Campbell; she tries to use that as a reason to bond, because I think it’s funny if the demons just latch onto Sam: “I killed your dad’s dad, you killed your mom’s dad, we have loads in common.” Sam also gradually gets demons’ phone numbers until they make up about 80% of his contact list. Also, Crowley does not kill Meg here, because he knows she considers Sam a brother but isn’t sure if Sam considers her a sister and Crowley has no interest in dealing with Sam trying to kill him for killing his sister, just in case. Winchester Family Drama, Azazel blood edition. “Dean Winchester’s behind you, dumbass” but instead it’s “you know Sam Winchester’s my brother right?”
Ahhhhhh 👀👀👀 Omg I love both scenarios so much!!! Thank you mysterious speedy anon <3
it’s important to me that Meg genuinely viewed this possession as a sibling bonding activity because she’s a demon
You're so right about this!! We should see how demon's perceptions and opinions are just so skewed because they're no longer humans. According to the demon lore of the early seasons demons forget about being human, so of course they don't get them. And Meg being like well this was fun is much more compelling than her doing it for the sake of being evil or revenge (as I think she cited in canon).
this is Sam’s worst nightmare, that he really is Azazel’s son and Lucifer’s vessel and the heir to the throne of hell and nothing he ever does will ever change that blood in his veins.
You should know I was in full on sicko mode as I read this.
“I killed your dad’s dad, you killed your mom’s dad, we have loads in common.” Sam also gradually gets demons’ phone numbers until they make up about 80% of his contact list.
LMAO I love this so much 😂😂
Crowley does not kill Meg here, because he knows she considers Sam a brother but isn’t sure if Sam considers her a sister and Crowley has no interest in dealing with Sam trying to kill him for killing his sister, just in case.
This but, to bring in my cram agenda, he then goes to Sam and is like "look I didn't even try to kill your sister will you please fuck me now 🥺"

I am not hijacking yet another one of scoobydoodean's posts for an Amy discussion (been there, done that), so I'm copying the whole thing over here:
@pendragony Thinking about the conversation in the comments of the latest instalment of @ani-coolgirl ‘s awesome ‘Every first time’ wincest project re Dean killing Amy. The thing about Sam is, for all the puppy dog, baby girl, uwu vibes, that man is also a stone cold killer who is capable of going right off the reservation without his brother acting as a moral compass. And Dean is used to clearing up his family’s messes. So, while there’s a lot of other stuff to consider, Dean quietly going to do what his mentally ill and morally questionable brother couldn’t, and then trying to ensure his peace by not telling him stuff that would hurt him, is also classic big brotherism on Dean’s part. It reminds me of his reaction to the Meg possession and finding out Sam killed a hunter - tidy up after little brother, and nobody needs to know. Both brothers are willing to monster themselves in order to save the other. @jinkieswouldyoulookatthis @blue-chimera
Do I understand why Dean killed Amy? Yes. Do I agree that it was, in their world, something that needed to be done? Yeah, I guess. Do I understand why Dean felt like he needed to do it behind Sam's back and then lie to him about it? From Dean's pov? Yes, but it still makes me want to shake him. Narratively, I get it. But there is a very loud voice in my head that goes, "Dude, that was an asshole move."
Like, Amy basically was what Sam had briefly suggested they become way back in Time is on My Side (3x15). She killed only to save the life of her son. She made an effort to kill those she considered to be bad people, trying to make the act feel less bad. But otherwise she had structured her life around not killing humans, finding "ethical" ways to source what she and her son needed. This is basically what Sam was thinking about when considering if they could somehow use Doc Benton's methods to loophole out of Dean's deal.
One of the things that I really like about Supernatural's story is how the boys are constantly dancing along a knife's edge of becoming the monsters that they hunt. And for the first half of the series, Sam was most often the one in danger of slipping, and his innate morality is less clear cut than Dean's so he relies heavily on Dean to help determine the right course of action. But as the series goes on, as Sam better figures himself out (has the pride beaten out of him by the story), Dean becomes the one losing his way. The Amy situation, happening at the beginning of season 7, is around the tipping point for this shift, and I think that may be part of why it stands out and causes so much passionate discussion.
But, I don't know, as always, I just wished they'd talk to each other about shit, lol!

Between Us Episode 2 Commentary and Review
Tumblr media
We start this episode with Team entering his room. He seems to be having a slight mental breakdown. Oh! loving the flashbacks, give us the goods. What the fuck did Team google though? Protection? If you've already done it just go with it and enjoy? Is he freaking out over the gay sex or that he did a one-night stand. Both me thinks. Poor baby is dealing with a double whammy. As my daughter would say "Get Fucked." In this case, he literally did.
Look at Win being thrilled. He likes that he was marked. That smile. Ha! Who you are calling kid, kid. Meanwhile, Team is telling all his friends that he is sick. More likely, his ass isn't feeling well.
Nerd boy and Manow moment!
Here comes Win to ruin that moment, though. He wants to know where his boy is. Look at this lack of respect for their moment. He is too busy getting alarmed over Team being sick to even know that he is scaring poor Manow. Daddy mode activated.
You can run Team, but you can't hide! He really went to close the door on Win! How rude! I love it, though. 🤣🤣🤣 He was concerned, Team, can't you tell. Isn't it written all over his face. 👀👀👀 Love the bratty attitude that Team is throwing at Win, but he gonna pay for that. See, I told you. Look at that gentle correction. He is caging him. Team immediately shows submission by saying Hia! Win rewards him with food.
Team is not fully giving in though. He is still showing attitude, just softer now. We are seeing a lot of back and forth that I'm really enjoying. "Just eat the damn food." If you pay attention though, we are seeing a much softer Win compared to before. He is showing a much softer side to Team than before and in comparison, to what others get to see.
Ha! Team just now figuring out that Win shouldn't know where he lives. The answer is registration paperwork, and Dean helped! 🤣🤣🤣 Omg! I love these coconuts so much. They have such an enjoyable Brat Tamer and brat relationship.
Win saying that it's him taking responsibility. Such a good Dom Daddy. Oh, look at Win using the word, Destiny. Guys... Win already knows what he wants. Look at that smile at Team when he says, "What destiny? More like Karma that led me to you." I think he is good with that Team.
The A, B, and C gang are such coconuts. Yeah, it's because of you that he had gay sex. If you only knew, but I thank you for it.
Win got questions, and you can't hide from them, Team. Notice he is keeping to the Hia, though. So hot. Nobody believes you were just feeling lazy, Team. Look at Win being blunt. That's a mark of a true Dom. Love it. I really love the bluntness and communication. He is asking questions and making statements when needed to get clarification. He wants to make sure that Team enjoyed that night. Teams defense is to run, though.
He might be giving brat mode, but he is keeping it respectful. Even the arm grab isn't bad because he is still talking respectfully. He is being pushed up against a wall, though, and he doesn't like it. Win lays it out. Look how he is watching Team's face. Notice he is unbothered by Team pushing him out because now he knows it's just Team needing adjustment time. Why is he so unbothered? Because subs are allowed to set boundaries too, and Team needs his. Now that he knows it really isn't an issue about him, he's good.
That deep breath that Team takes in. He cares for Win. He is just inexperienced and clueless. Look at Win telling him to mind his business. Love this because you see the clear contrast between how Win treats others and how he treats Team.
Parents don't look happy with Waan. I'm not sure what is going on here yet. Bitch don't talk to your wife like that. Oh, T-Rex heard it all and we know who T-Rex is. T-Rex now knows Waan's identity too. We are getting a lot of side couples this episode. T-Rex got some feelings going on already.
Look at Win grabbing his moment. He knows what he wants, and he is going to get it. Red and Blue again. Love it. I adore how in Until We Meet Again, we were dealing with a couple that are already established soulmates. Those who had already created a destiny for themselves for each life here on out. With Win and Team, we are seeing the beginning of that. How that type of relationship starts, molds, and is created.
Back to them fighting over the car ride. "We are going to the same place! Be generous!" "An heir to a resort like you is worried about gas?" That should tell you something Team, but I get it, you don't have the experience to understand if he is playing or not.
I'm really glad they aren't recapping everything with Dean and Pharm but giving us new elements. The Trio! Spill your guts to Pharm. This friendship really reminds me of the coconuts mafia. Love Manow, love so much. This friend group is all sneaky.
Team hands over some desert to Dean that's from Pharm. Dean seems to be confused as to why Pharm didn't do it himself and look at this brat just ratting out his friend. Look at Win being jealous sadist. Love it. Talk back and get punished. You got what you deserved, Team. See the arm grab around Team's neck. How many of you have seen that out in public, and it made you so uncomfortable, but it didn't even register here? There is a huge difference between a Dom doing it with vs. an insecure abusive dick. There is a whole different body language to it. While Win has Team hooked, Team could actually easily get away if he wanted. He is whining for the fun of it. There is plenty of space, though.
I loved Dean's little smile. Now we are watching them eat breakfast together, and Team is observing Win's habits. The seasoning comment is important because remember he bought Team a meal with lots of spice. Team observed that who does this for a sick person. So, one might assume that Win bought what he likes. However, we learn here that Win when choosing his own food doesn't do spicy. Team is from the South, where they put a shit ton of spice. It's Team who is used to spice and likes it.
Look at Win trying to slip in that ownership and Team not having it. Again, Win is simply amused. Look at T-Rex outing Win. Win is just being a good guy. Nah, Win isn't going to out either of them till Team is ready. Though he would likely make it clear that they are together if it were up him. Do you see the difference in how he talks to Team vs. T-Rex, even though T-Rex is a friend. Then, look at him opening up Team's bottle. Now Win his opening up. Look at him calling his brothers stupid. I'm dying. I've been known to feel that way about my siblings for sure.
Opps, you stepped on a mind field with that one Win. He sees it, though, and doesn't push. I totally see Win being that bad boy type. Oh wait, because he still is. Love, love the communication that Win is giving. He knows Team isn't ready, but he is, so he is showing all his cards. You are going to deny seeing them when you see them during swimming. I'm so dead. And the Sadist strikes. "But the tattoo below the swim trunks, only you have seen it." That smile at making Team shy. Haha!
This friendship trio should be interesting, too. It's such a contrast to the sub trio. Ha, don't talk about his man. Win knows what he wants. Then bam, we are back in the swim locker room. Win pushed too hard, but Team is letting him know. Support? Is this how we support these days? I need some support. Oh no, I don't need a drink. Fucking product placement. Yes, a kiss. Sweet!!!
Everybody going to try and get their mack on. These fucking coconuts. Manow how many times you going to sigh. These two are such dorky cuties. Win is staring some daggers. That smile from Win when Team said he had to wait on a friend. Abso-fucking-love-it!
Look how easily he took Win's hand without thinking. Oh, a command. "Kiss me." Team with his one foot up. So, fucking cute! Once again Win gives Team the choice to follow him. Which Team easily does. Tell me that slam against the locker wasn't hot! Who else rewound? Just me 👀👀👀 Damn these two know how to bring the chemistry. Don't think that Win is annoyed. You would be mistaken. See how tender that kiss is. He isn't even pushing until Team gets it out. Now he can reassure him. Win values communication. Doesn't matter when. Because look at how more invested Team is now that he has had reassurances. More communication, love it!
Yup, that's definitely two Doms going at it. Even if Team is submissive in their relationship, that doesn't mean there won't ever be a leak through. It just depends on the relationship and what is allowed. If you watch, though, Team's hands are loose while Win's are in control.
This episode was so good! I can't wait for next week! Hope you guys enjoyed this!

i feel like so many facets in jack’s character that are narratively supposed to attribute to his internal conflict have been woobified and infantilized so extensively that nobody can even register them as actual struggles—like the entire thing about his age vs his life experience. on a physical/mental/emotional level jack is developed to his early 20’s and has all the capabilities of a young 20-something year old, but because he hasn’t actually lived through 20-something years and lacks the experience necessary to having good judgment and a good understanding of how to respond/react appropriately.
and the thing is, jack did choose to be an adult, but had no way of knowing that he’d have to deal with all of this as a result of that. he made his decision on the basis that the world was too dangerous for him to be younger, but Kelly likely never made him feel as if he would potentially be dangerous because of his powers. like I’ve said before, jack is almost entirely unaware that they aren’t a normal human for the entire first episode up until Dean tells the sheriff they’re a nephil. all they knew is that they heard voices and got freaked out and that “things” (sheriff barker getting launched into the vending machine) happened when they got freaked out.
adding onto this, another facet of Jack’s character is wanting to prove his worth or capabilities to others. he wants to be part of the team and be strong enough to protect people, all of which ties into his core desire to be Good and Safe and prove that to the guys, and he expresses extreme frustration and anger at himself when he naively trusts the wrong person (asmodeus, duma), misjudges a situation or overreacts in a way that harms someone else (the tombstone security guard, the Gas’n’Sip employee) because it outwardly proves to his father figures that he isn’t good or safe or worth their love+effort, and while the basis for Jack’s character and conflict is Nature vs Nurture, it also revolves around a struggle for autonomy—particularly his struggle to be more than what his own existence even allows him to be, and I think that’s the thing people horribly misunderstand or purposely ignore about jack and this particular struggle.
it’s not about jack wanting to be a normal kid (he actually very much just wants to be a normal teenager). it’s about the fact that jack has a limited life experience which clouds his judgement, lends to his naivety, and leads him to making the wrong choices and react inappropriately and hurt people without meaning to and further playing into why everyone is afraid of him. it’s about the fact that jack wants to be good and safe and strong and protect others (which are both already conflicting idealizations), and he’s angry when when the factors of his existence lead him to fucking up and registering him as a threat when he very adamantly doesn’t want to be a threat.
jack doesn’t want to be a normal child and none of their problems would disappear if he was one. they want to be capable of having self control and protecting the people they care about (re:, “what’s the point of having these powers if I can’t use them to help the people I care about? it’s selfish of me not to”), and he wants to have better judgement to understand what the right thing is in a situation and make the appropriate choice/reaction. the horror lies in the fact that he inherently does not have any of that. because of Jack’s naivety, he doesn’t have good judgment and he is incredibly dangerous regardless of the effort he puts into being safe, and frankly it’s weird to infantilize that particular aspect of his character (and every aspect, but this especially) the way this fandom has

(This is gonna sound random because I was reading old posts, sorry!)
What makes me bitter about Season 12 is that they had the perfect opportunity for a reset and even seemed to set it up several times, so I actually dared to hope they might go that route, but they didn't.
The MoL after the Amara storyline seemed like a way to make it smaller again when they could not possibly go bigger, but still present a new challenge because Sam and Dean are experts on fighting MONSTERS, but what do they do when the villains are human? They could have blown up the Bunker when they were trapped inside, eliminating that stagnation. Mary could have sacrificed herself after her redemption during the raid. Cas could have stayed dead with Crowley. Lucifer could have been locked away for good. The Jack storyline should never have happened. They even got the Colt back! It could have been two brothers on the road with their magic gun again, instead of *gestures disgustedly at everything*
No need to apologize, anon! I'm generally up for discussion, even from old posts.
Yes, exactly, it was just so frustrating! There were a couple of things they did around season 11-12 where it felt like they actually sat down and realized the show was stagnating and came up with a few things that might have actually worked to fix that ... and then it felt like they basically just sloppily threw it all away.
When they introduced Billie and The Empty, it could have reintroduced real stakes in terms of physical peril. Sure, nobody with any sense believed Sam or Dean would die permanently before the end of the show. But at a point when heaven/hell/purgatory basically had a revolving door for the Winchesters? It brought back the idea getting resurrected might actually be hard/complicated and shouldn't just be taken for granted. Except instead of actually utilizing that, they threw it away on one of the most pointless Castiel deaths & resurrections in the entire series (which is really saying something) to show just how overpowered their latest absurdly overpowered character was. Can't exactly take it serious as a threat when the first time they bring somebody back from the place "no one comes back from" it was barely even on purpose.
Resurrecting Mary could have helped to re-center the show in terms of emotional stakes. At that point, Sam and Dean had been subjected to so much trauma that the writers just brushed under the rug when it wasn't convenient to deal with that it didn't even feel important. Of course the show wasn't going to deal with it 100% realistically, but when it starts to feel like the characters don't even get to care, why should we? But they could have reexamined all kinds of things from the way they grew up to the latest disaster through Mary's new and concerned eyes. Except the Mary they brought back could barely be bothered to give a single solitary fuck about her sons at all, because she was too busy being an embarrassing caricature of a Strong Female Character who is actually just an asshole with informed awesome abilities.
Introducing the BMoL could have helped stop the problem of ever-escalating enemies and bogging down in heaven/hell bureaucracy bullshit. Where do you go after you have your protagonists fight God's Sister? Well, if you don't want to make up yet more random deities or have them fight God himself (sigh), you find a different kind of challenge to give them, a new angle they have to work they aren't already experts at. The BMoL were human, so Dean and Sam should have needed to find new ways to deal with them. They couldn't just straight up murder humans, right? They should have needed to actually learn how to be subtle, maneuver, compromise, organize, do something they had reason to be challenged by. Something that wasn't just searching fruitlessly for the next McGuffin until the script said it was time to find it and win. Except the BMoL were absurdly competent and incompetent in turns and then just cartoonishly evil for reasons, until in the end? The Winchesters just got together a group of hunters and murdered them all as if they were literal monsters. So we could go back to yet more heaven/hell bullshit that they also half-assed on all fronts.
So, so much of the Dabbernatural seasons felt to me like the writers over and over choosing the laziest and least interesting paths.

Hi hello! Happy WW. Question: do you have a preference for how established relationship Sam deals with his jealousy of Dean's connections to other men? I think you've said a threesome with a canon dude would be unlikely, bc even Dean's natural charisma is.. a lot (rip deanbennysam, you would have been hot 😔). Does Sam scene with him, or realize that probably ain't great to punish Dean when he doesn't realize what he's doing (or does he?), or stew in it, or talk it out (lol)?
hello, hello, happy wincest wednesday! 🌈
And what an interesting question you have brought me! I am totally fascinated by actual-canon Sam's jealousy of Dean's connection to other men -- Dean's out there forming homosocial bonds like nobody's business and Sam's going ARE YOU KIDDING, it's the greatest. As I said the other day: it's very funny to me that Sam's the one who's out there trying to draw Lines and Personal Boundaries, and the second Dean has one (i.e. his friendship with Benny) Sam's like UH NO? NOT OKAY? NOT WHAT I MEANT AT ALL? Delish. :)
That said -- in an established relationship context where they're okay, I feel like this element of Sam would cool down a little. He wants Dean's devotion -- like that's an essential element of their relationship, Sam craving Dean's devotion while Dean craves Sam's presence -- and a sexual relationship would just make that devotion more obvious. As long as it wasn't a sad part of their relationship where they're hatefucking or whatever, I think that additional proof of closeness would make him... relax. He knows whose bed Dean's going to end up in. Hell, even if Dean sleeps with other people -- as long as it's not coded as 'cheating', I think Sam could handle Dean getting well-fucked by all and sundry, as long as Dean's heart isn't in play. Friendship is fine; affection is fine; someone starting to take over that 'brother' category [indefinable, per the ask I just reblogged] is not. This is why (in the non-having-sex-with-each-other s8 canon) he was so deeply upset about Benny. And... Cas, allegedly.
In canon Sam deals with his homosocial jealousy Poorly -- I mean, look what a hilarious bitch he was about Crowley, lol. But other than the s8 moment which was so intense, it's not totally clear to me if Sam notices that that's why he's jealous. Given established relationship -- given a scenario where he actually has some vague worry about the 'brother' thing -- I actually think it might be Dean who really notices why Sam's being a bitch about whoever he's jiving with, before Sam does. Which gives us the entertaining possibility of Dean getting back from a hunt with Handsome Jocular Hunter #3 who he did a job with because [whatever, some reason] and Sam's being kind of snippy and bitchy about it and Dean squints at him, and then goes and gets them both a beer, and then he climbs into Sam's lap and kisses him and goes, okay, bitch, let's hear it. And of course Sam would be embarrassed and he knows upon it being pointed out that it's stupid, but hey. Sometimes you just need the truth to be underlined.
...All of which, you'll notice, very much avoids the traditional jealousy business -- and especially the 'scene' business -- because... I find that kind of thing anywhere from stupid to risible to red-flag-yikes. If Sam feels the need to scene with Dean with spanking etc to prove to himself who's got the right to stick his cock in there, then that Sam is not a Sam who deserves to stick his cock in there. Much happier for me to have super toppy super confident super masc Sam be a brief hapless dork, and for Dean to smile at him (with kind of the same expression he had in a similar scene in the Plucky Pennywhistle ep) and go ...Sammy, are you jealous? and for Sam to look down at his lap and mulishly go, ..........no. <3 Dweebs are so much more fun than jealous buttheads. :)

wip - station 19, andy/vic
notes: hadn't so much as considered this possibility until I saw thier names tagged on ao3. now here we are. I'm sharing this wip draft for now until I finish more of it and post on ao3.
context: kicks off after the season 4 finale. Marina wedding reception still in progress. Andy fucked up. Vic just made out with Theo now that she has Travis' blessing (and poor sweet Dean saw it when he went to confess his feelings for her).
.
The vibes are off when Maya, Carina, and Andy get back from storming the chief’s office. Sure, they turn on the music, and everyone starts dancing again, but Vic can’t really surrender herself to the party anymore. She can’t just make out with Theo when it feels like something really big just happened. Something nobody’s talking about.
Andy dances as far away from Sullivan as she can. He keeps eyeing her like some wounded dog. When Vic tries to talk to Dean about it, Dean gets weird. So, Vic really only has one option.
She corners Andy in the bathroom.
She’s polite enough to wait until Andy’s flushed the toilet, but the second Andy opens the stall, Vic stares the other woman down.
Andy flinches at the sight of her. “Shit, Vic, say something next time.”
“Maybe you should say something,” Vic says. “What happened with the chief?”
Andy averts her eyes to the sink. She gets the water running.
Vic watches Andy’s jaw work. Her eyes start to narrow because it’s a simple question.
Maya and Andy stormed the chief’s office, and then… what? Fill in the blank.
“He’s not giving Maya her captaincy back,” Andy says. “I’m proud of her for still enjoying tonight. It was really a beautiful wedding. You did amazing, Vic.”
“I know I did amazing. It’s the best freaking wedding at a pierogi place that will ever exist,” Vic says. “But Maya’s spot doesn’t explain you acting weird. If Sullivan really caused this—“
“He did,” Andy insists. Her tone’s sharp as it always when she mentions her husband. She shakes her hands.
Vic grabs paper towels and hands them over to Andy.
Andy sighs out, “Thanks. I don’t really want to get into all of this. Robert put this whole thing in motion. He said the chief wanted to know what Robert thought about Maya, and Robert….”
Andy’s nostrils flare. Her eyes cut to the paper towels in her hands. Then it makes sense. Andy’s anger only tracks if Robert looked out for himself over everyone else.
So Vic finishes the sentence for Andy. “Robert tried to get her spot.”
Andy laughs, but it’s probably the angriest, most disbelieving laugh Vic has heard in years.
Andy says, “He keeps saying he did it for me. For us. For our house. But—“
“But that’s bullshit,” Vic deadpans. “If he wanted to protect the house, he would’ve argued to keep Maya where she was.”
“Exactly!” Andy throws her hands to the sky.
“Or-or mentioned you — you’re an actual lieutenant. The rightful heir of Station 19.”
Andy rolls her eyes. “Not heir, Vic, come on.”
Vic bumps Andy’s hand. “It’s true! You’ve been our little captain that could for as long as I’ve been here. Having Maya as Captain was one thing, but someone else entirely….”
Vic doesn’t want to imagine it. They’ve had enough change in their lives recently. Her awful older sister of a restaurant got torched a month ago. Ben and Dean almost drowned. It’s been absolute hell, but they’ve gotten through every bit of it because of their family.
She sighs. “You know what, we’re not going to let one potential new person throw us off. We’ve gotten through so much shit together. We can deal with this too.”
Pain flashes across Andy’s face.
Vic’s brows scrunch. “What? What was that face? Don’t say you don’t need help, because Andy, I swear—”
“We won’t be together,” Andy admits. “That’s… that’s the other thing that happened with the chief. He reassigned me to Station 23. Effective on Monday.”
Vic’s whole body freezes.
It just ceases to function for a second.
She starts to laugh, because this has to be a joke.
There’s no way that Andy Herrera is leaving Station 19.
“You’re not serious. Right? You can’t be serious. Why—“
“He said that I’ll never be out of my dad’s shadow. And told me this move would be good for me,” Andy says.
“Bullshit!”
“Yeah, well, his decision’s final, so…” Andy sighs. She opens her mouth to say it, but no sound comes out.
It’s like a spark ignites with that. One second, Andy’s fine. Angry, but she’s holding it all together. It’s just another captain’s order for her to carry out. But the next, she’s clutching at her chest. Tears completely blur her vision. The bathroom tiling feels too close and getting closer.
Vic catches Andy when Andy stumbles forward. It’s not perfect, and it takes a careful shuffle of their bodies to keep Andy from dragging them both down to the ground.
A dry sob wracks Andy’s body. Vic wraps her arms around Andy as tightly as she can. Every ragged breath, every broken sound. Vic takes it all. She squeezes her eyes shut and lets Andy fall apart.
“I can’t — I can’t do it,” Andy sobs. “I can’t leave 19.”
.
.

Teri Hatcher Movieline Interview 1996
"Seriously," she continues, "it's really nice right now between Dean and me. He's off doing his first real movie with Drew Barrymore. He called me two nights ago, and we talked for 45 minutes. Drew has been around a lot and I think she can offer a lot of acting experience to him. It was wonderful hearing him tell me how this or that had happened on the set and I found myself going, 'I'm not so bad, am 1? You thought I was nutso but I'm not really, am 1?' It makes me feel really good that he's come to appreciate me more than maybe he did initially, that now he really thinks I'm cool and a great actress. I don't think that he always thought that." Some people do think Hatcher pushes the star envelope on certain occasions. I run down a few of the things said to make for a bumpy ride on a Hatcher set. "I'm driven. Really professional and nor the kind of person who will just let things go," she declares, "On the show, I do go, 'No, it's not supposed to be like that,' rather than just take the resigned attitude, 'It'll be easier if we just do it this way and nobody will notice.' The shows means something to me. I'm really proud of my work on it. Sometimes I step back and think, 20 years from now, 'Lois & Clark' will be part of American history like 'Gilligan's Island,' or 'The A-Team' or 'Charlie's Angels."' I ask Hatcher whether she'd watch "Lois & Clark" if she didn't star in it. She hasn't a ready answer. "I don't watch television," she says, falling silent. After a few moments, she finally remarks, "I have so much baggage about what it takes to make the show, about what it's taken from my life, that it would be skewed for me to say I wouldn't watch it if I weren't on it. Would I watch the show? Dean's really cute, so I guess, if I had nothing --if I was just flipping through the channels, I'd probably be like every other woman in America and go, 'Wooo, he's cute." On to the topic, then, of Cain's tights: padded or all Dean all the time? Hatcher leans in, smiling like a minx: "Haven't you heard those rumors? From what I've heard, there's no padding involved." And how does Cain rate on Hatcher's kiss-o-meter? "l haven't kissed anybody but my husband for four years," she frets, before giving it up. "Well, except Deem, who is a great, great kisser."
"In terms of relationships and almost everything else," she says, "I call this the 'Microwave Society.' Everything has to be fixed in a minute. It leads us all to feeling like the second anything gets a little bit uncomfortable, move on. [Personally-] I have not found this business to be full of temptation, even though I work with attractive people. You're put into situations where you get close to people very quickly, and if things are at all rocky in your normal life, you can get confused in fantasies of how things could be with this or that person. [But] I am very clear about the line between fantasy and reality." "Television is in your face every week, so l think TV people are probably bigger than movie stars. There are probably far more people who want to know what I'm up to than what Meryl Streep's doing. "All I know," she continues, "is that I'm on that show every week and I'm, like, a big deal on the Internet. What more could I want? Well, I did write my first script this year. It was only for 'Lois & Clark,' but still. And I'm going to direct a 20-minute short. See, I have a goal, not a 'soon' goal or a 'near' goal, but still a goal that I haven't really admitted aloud. I want to produce, direct, write and star in a romantic comedy. Whew! There, I've said it. I'm a firm believer in putting your money where your mouth is."

realized i do have a little i could share for wip wednesdsay! was talking with @barbiedolldean and @deanjohn about a universe where john survives, and mentioned i had a fluffy snippet for that. i’ve already shared this with a couple of you, but here’s my little self-contained, john and dean a decade or so down the road being domestic and sweet excerpt:
The music at the bar up the street from their repair shop isn’t much to write about. Dean and John mostly go there because it’s close, which counts for a lot when all you want to do is have a decent walk and to get a little tipsy. Plus, the bands they get on Thursday nights aren’t always half bad, even if they don’t make music like back when John was a kid.
They don’t go every Thursday, but Dean likes to get out every now and again, and John knows the activity does him good, so they try every few weeks to head over. They share a pitcher, smoke a few cigarettes, and play footsie under the booth table while some unknown rock wannabe swaggers on stage. It’s too loud, and the bar charges too much for the shitty Bud they serve, but it’s nice all the same. Nobody knows them, or looks at them sideways. Just a couple of guys having a good time.
They don’t talk while they’re there—way too noisy for that. John just makes googly eyes at his son and pulls faces about the music when he knows Dean’s looking. He likes the easy way Dean rolls his eyes before going back to nodding along with the beat. Like putting up with John’s shit is no big deal. John supposes these days, it’s not.
“You ever think about picking the guitar up again?” John asks as they walk back to their place. His shoulders keep bumping against Dean’s. He’s huddled up close, both because he likes the way Dean feels next to him, but also because it’s the first real chilly night of the year, and John isn’t ready for it. Before the incident, the cold never much bothered him. But after, it’s become a real bitch.
Beside him, Dean shrugs. “Think I’m too old.”
John blows a raspberry. “Fuck off with that.”
Dean snorts. “Damn, Dad, okay. You’re right: forty-three is still very much my youth.”
“What are you trying to say about me then?”
Dean cocks a head. “I don’t think you want to know.”
John might be frail, but he can still be quick when he needs to. He snakes his foot out in front of Dean, tripping him. He doesn’t go all the way down, just a stumble forward, but it’s enough to make his point. “Still calling me old?” he asks with a sly smile.
Dean doesn’t miss a beat. “Old enough to be my father.”
John barks at that. “You’re a little shit, you know that?”
Dean looks sideways at John, gentle smile on his lips. “Yeah, Dad. I do.”
Then John feels Dean’s hand slip into his own. He doesn’t let go until they’re back at the apartment, and Dean is forced to pull his hand away so he can wrap his arm around John’s waist to help him up the stairs.
“Goddamn these fucking things,” grits John as he hefts himself up the last two steps.
“I know, Daddy,” Dean murmurs.
John knows he does. Doesn’t make anything any easier.
John limps his way over to the couch where he collapses with a groan. “Those fucking stairs and the damn cold aside, tonight was good. Music wasn’t too bad this time.”
Dean moves between John’s legs and kneels on knees that crack with the gesture. John hates to hear the sound.
“Can I do anything for you?” Dean asks, hands rubbing softly over John’s thighs.
John creaks out a yawn. “Help me to bed, baby?”
Dean nods. “I can do that, Daddy.”
Their life is made up of routines, and John knows this is one of them. The way Dean moves to John’s boots and unfastens the laces. The way he pulls them off carefully, almost reverently. The way he kisses John’s aching knees before moving his hands to the button on John’s jeans. It’s not even about sex—John’s always too beat after a night like this to put out. It’s about something else. Something else John doesn’t want to say out loud, but something that he’s pathetically grateful for.
“You wanna shower?” Dean asks quietly as he stands.
John thinks about it. The warmth would feel good, but so would falling right into their bed. “No, I don’t think I will.”
“Siren song of the sheets is just too strong, huh?” He extends his hands for John to take so Dean can pull him up from the couch.
“Guess I am the old man you say I am.”
“Nah,” Dean says with a grin. “You’re a fucking fox.”
John heaves up with a groan. “Can’t I be both?”
Dean considers this. “Why not?”
They head for the bathroom where they share the sink to brush their teeth, then John leans against Dean as they may their way to the bedroom. It’s there that Dean helps John finish undressing, all the way down to his birthday suit. Then Dean undresses himself while John moves to the side of the bed and sits down with a grimace. Shit, he’s fucking sore. Probably should have taken that shower. He considers asking Dean to turn on the water, but then he turns to look back at his son and can’t bring himself to speak. Dean is beautiful under any circumstances, and at any age. But there’s something arresting about him like this—naked and sleepy, illuminated by the pale street lights filtering through their shitty, faded curtains. Dean looks vulnerable and young, scars and wrinkles blurred in the dim light. John just wants to touch him as soon as he can. He needs that more than a shower.
“You good, Daddy?” Dean murmurs as he crawls into bed.
“Yeah, baby,” John replies, slipping under the comforter himself. “I’m good.”
They settle in then, Dean tucked up behind John, warming his back. They’ll part ways sometime in the night, when Dean inevitably overheats and John starts snoring, but for now Dean is a welcome weight. A comforting warmth. And John is content enough to sleep.
