One thing I genuinely think the fandom forgets or underestimates is just how weird Neil is. Like we paint him to be this carismatic, flashy, cocky bad boy, but in reality he's stingy, skittish, balks at anything more personal then his thoughts on Exy and Cannot for the life of him socialize. Like in the Raven King, right after Seth dies, he straight up goes:

"Neil had to patch things up with [Allison] somehow, but he didn't know where to start. He'd never been good at winning people over. Someone like Allison wasn't likely to be his first success. "

Neil's spent his life living on the outskirts of "average" life. Ergo, he's cagey and flighty and so far removed from normal that even among the Foxes he'll always be a little unpredictable and odd. And you know what, good for him; we all deserve an antisocial introverted asshole to raly behind.

Because, see, in the first frame Darling’s expression is just one of concern, right, because this is obviously a very tense situation for everyone and Darling’s trying to reassure them the best she can.

BUT, Darling’s expression seems to change when she’s talking about Apple’s happily ever after, which, at this point in the story, everyone thinks will happen because of Daring.

DO YOU SEE THIS? BECAUSE MY DELUSIONAL ASS SURE DOES.

man, like, just the way darling is looking at apple in the second pic; the expression is so lost and hopeless in a way, because she thinks that even if she’ll get apple back, apple will never end up being her true love yk.

the way wildbow just completely gave up on brian after the timeskip .. i am a yurihead before everything & anything but the fact that he never has any legitimate conversation w taylor before he is kersploded (despite her stating multiple times how important figure of a figure he is in her life) & then taylor spends the next 2 arcs having oodles of lisa rachel aisha time just feels v narratively cheap to me

i need everyone to understand that kunikida's ideal romantic partner is 1. a show of how insanely detailed and unachievable kunikida's ideals can be (and how even though the ada drive him insane regularly they force him to have the breathing room within his ideals that stop him from being fully self destructive which also lets him have his ideals whilst being able to prioritize) 2. is not applicable to all women <- he doesn't think a woman has no value unless she meets his ideals --- his ideals for a romantic partner r simply what he wants in a romantic relationship. its like a more intense version of wanting someone who's like into the same movies as you, it doesn't mean you hate or put ppl who have a different movie taste than u into a sub-human category <- well if ur like a kinda decent person i mean

and i think ppl forget that kunikida holds himself to strict ideals too, so its not like he wants to go around being an average person at best but wanting a perfect partner

a few times i've watched a show and when the main ship kisses it completely baffles me. not because of the characters, but the actors. i'm realizing it might be because some actors playing love interests are literally best friends in real life and not just coworkers who have a nice time together on media tours yk? this specifically happened with david & michael and taika & rhys like it just blew my mind that those real living people have kissed before!!!

It's honestly so disappointing that Overly Sarcastic Productions has said NOTHING about Palestine. Like, I don't expect a lot from youtubers, but this is literally their subject and the silence is baffling.

OSP has done great work talking about and dismantling colonial ideas in history, have never shied away from ugly facts, and don't back away from addressing how insidious fascism is. They are firmly on the left. It's not like Palestine outside of their wheelhouse.

Hell, I remember the big Ten Year video they did where they were So Proud to be able to use their BIG PLATFORM to educate people on Ukraine and its validity as a culture, and fundraise for them. So do they just think Palestine isn't as important as Ukraine?

It's not to late for them. I hoe they educate themselves and their audience in turn, as that would be a huge service to the people in need right now. I hope they make a clear statement on where they stand, and make a good video that can teach Palestine's history.

I do not care about the Roman Empire anymore.

You know what’s cringe?

People who don’t know what bilingual people speak like. Cuz like I speak English and Spanish and you know “Spanglish” is super fun. (I mostly see this in fanfics).

But I never go: Yeah and I was at la playa, you know— sorry I speak Spanish and I mix up words! Silly silly me, no se hablar English!

It’s more like: Y estaba en la playa when my mom called me and she was yelling at me and I didn’t even know what I did! I was like ‘Mami, Que hice? Why are you yelling!?’ (More or less something I told my friend a couple of weeks ago)

Then theres the whole “character forgets a word because they’re thinking in Spanish!”

“No, no, the flecha! You know, the thingy that lights up! Like— ugh, what’s it called? Its like— its a flecha! I can’t think of the English word!” (Arrow, its a light up arrow)

Its so awkward to read those.

Idk but being bilingual isn’t just adding a random non-English word into a an English sentence.

Or like having characters just go: “you’re my hermano/hermana, man!”

Or (the very cringe) “come on foo!” // “ese!” // “vato!” // or literally any other word associated with cholos or Chicano gangs.

Like pet names I get. I understand those. I used to call my ex “mi amor” “corazón de melon” “Bebe” “lindó” “guapo” and nothing else in Spanish. Those are understandable cuz those are pet names.

Make Spanglish sound real! (hmu if you want someone to look over your Spanish, specifically)
