As indulgent as it is, this delicious Banana Yoghurt with Maple Chocolate Sauce can be a breakfast as well as a dessert, or a mid-arvo treat! Happy Wednesday!
Ingredients (serves 1):

Peel and slice banana, and add banana slices to the bowl.
Generously drizzle with Maple Chocolate Sauce.
Enjoy Banana Yoghurt with Maple Chocolate Sauce immediately.

Here are possibly unpopular food opinions collected from random people; bold what you agree with.
I'm not familiar with some of these as an European, but let's try :D Cheddar is an overrated cheese. Oreos are overrated. Bananas taste boring. Sucralose makes coffee taste like battery acid. Peanutbutter is shit. Cold eggs are the worst thing ever. Most teas don’t taste good without milk. Spiced roasted veggies are actually good. A tomato is not a vegetable. Tomato sauce/paste is gross. Topping off your mashed potato with an extra knob of butter is excessive and unnecessary. Burgers are overrated. Salad dressing is gross. Bananas are not good; too sweet and weird texture. Pasta is overrated and tastes like nothing. Only the sauce adds flavour. Tacos > pizza. Pineapple belongs on pizza! People who worry about where the meat in cheap sausages comes from are missing the point; sausage’s a way of preventing food waste. Sweet potatoes aren’t good, a potato shouldn’t be sweet and it’s completely overrated. Sugar isn’t that bad for you (in moderation, and avoiding sugar sweetened beverages) Coke is horrible and tastes like sewage water. Monster is really not good at all. Oatcakes (the Scottish style ones) are the best crackers and should be available everywhere. Food is best dry (without sauce). Oatmeal/porridge made with water tastes disgusting. Fries are good w/ maple syrup. White monster is way too sweet. Cheese is overrated. Pasta isn’t actually that good. Standard pizza tastes like greesy cardboard. Courgette (zucchini) is one of the best veggies. Grapes are absolutely disgusting. All of them. Same with anything grape flavored. Turkish delight chocolate is actually really, really good. Cereal is best made with hot water. Nuts are a safe food, at least they become one when you realise that nearly every study correlates them with either weight loss or maintenance. BBQ sauce is trash. Vegan yoghurt tastes disgusting. Mustard is disgusting. Pineapple is better grilled than fresh. Rice cakes aren’t bad; they’re pretty good! Corn thins are better than rice cakes. Pecan pie is the best pie. Brined black olives are delicious. Beer doesn’t actually taste good at all. Neither does wine. I love konjac noodles. Unsalted rice cakes are actually good as long as they aren’t stale. Couscous is basically just the fluff that collects in your vacuum cleaner.   Popcorn is mega overrated. Fried sushi should not be allowed. People rave about salted caramel but it is at best 1% better than just caramel, and is massively overrated. Black forest is a seriously underrated chocolate and cake flavour. People who can’t handle spicy food are weaklings. Tuna tastes so bad. Almost all fruit is gross. Ice cream is overrated. Tabasco is not a good hot sauce. Astronaut ice cream is actually amazing. Thin crust pizza is the best crust. Ketchup is actually really good! It’s better to dip fries in ranch than in ketchup. (both are weird to me as a Belgian) Sugar in coffee/tea or any other drink is terrifying. Dark chocolate is delicious. Asking “but how can you not like [insert food]!??” is a stupid question. Not everyone likes the same things. Eating meat doesn’t automatically make you a bad person. Eating the fruit is better drinking the juice. Hard/slightly unripe fruit is nicer than soft fruit. There IS such a thing as too much garlic. Grits are disgusting. All seafood is bad. Coffee is an overrated beverage. Tinned soup is just as good as homemade. Drizzling syrup on pancakes is overrated- dipping is so much better. Onions taste better when cooked in oil. All colours of bell-peppers are delicious. Just because a food is vegan does not mean it is automatically healthier than other foods. Tomatoes? Great! Soup? Great! But tomato soup? Absolutely tf not. Soymilk is just as good as real milk for putting in tea or washing down biscuits and cakes, in fact for some things it’s better. Veggies > fruits. Vegetable pizza is the best pizza. Schools should teach basic food growing and preparing skills. Sometimes flowers taste really good. Black licorice is good. Eggs are way better tasting with the yolks and worth the calories. Bananas are far better eaten when the skin is still tinged green, rather than fully ripe. Chocolate should be nuttier. Like, peanut slabs should be the gold standard of how many nuts you put in chocolate. Apples are not filling. Short pasta like farfalle, penne and fusilli > spaghetti. Soggy fries are just as good as crispy fries. Broccoli is better than cauliflower. Red currants are tastier than black currants. White chocolate is best chocolate and others are trash. Nutella is overrated and overpriced. Mc Donalds fries aren’t good they’re soggy instead of crispy! Drenching your food in condiments is gross and takes away from all other flavours. Chikki is better than western style peanut brittle. Cilantro is meh. More things should be smoke flavoured. Especially chips. Kentucky fried chicken is kind of overrated. Caviar is overrated and there are far better delicacies. All pork products are icky. Mayonnaise is terrible. Square sausages are an abomination. Coffee is actually better black. The best ice cream flavours are mint chocolate chip or rum and raisin. Oranges don’t taste good. Bacon is overrated. Gummy candies suck, they get stuck in your teeth and they taste dusty and the flavours are always disappointing and weird. Energy drinks are overrated. Orangina is the most vile drink on the planet. All sandwiches should be toasted. Icing ruins baked goods. Walnuts aren’t as good as other nuts. Hersheys is some of the worst chocolate. White queso is vile, yellow is clearly superior. Marmalade is the best type of fruit preserve. Pistachio is the best nut. Bread that has been frozen tastes like shit. It ruins the texture. Milkshakes are gross. Soft/semi melted chocolate is not good. Thai curry isn’t that good. Hob nobs are better than digestives, and chocolate hob nobs are better than chocolate digestives. Veggie bacon is better than real bacon. McDonalds is not all that tasty at all. Zoodles will never be a good replacement for pasta. Soft bread is nicer than crusty bread. Peas do not belong in fried rice. Diet drinks don’t actually taste anything like their full sugar counterpart. Coke and pepsi are overrated. Biscuits (cookies) and tea is an underrated combination. Lipton tea is undrinkable. Oatmeal raisin cookie is better than choc chip. Meat pies are generally terrible. Chocolate ice cream isn’t that good. Tomato sauce is bland and boring. Strawberry flavoured foods are better than strawberries from the grocery. Glazed donuts are better than filled donuts. Bananas go great with hummus. American cheese is actually just fine. Sweet potato fries are far superior to regular fries. Waffles or pancakes ALWAYS need to have a topping. Scrambled eggs are better without additions like onions/cheese. Ramen tastes better when you just *dip* the block of noodles in the broth. Nestle chocolate isn’t that good. Coconut is an amazing snack to monch on. Mozzarella is overrated and tastes like nothing. Raw oysters is the best way to start any dinner. Spinach is better than lettuce. Fries are overrated and gross. Liquorice is disgusting. Raspberries are the worst popular berry. Black and rose pepper taste better than white pepper. Fruit based pies are all disgusting. Dried fruit is disgusting, especially raisins and apricots. Banana chips are better than real bananas. Salt n vinegar chips are amazing. Pumpkin pie is the best pie. Eating a thick slice of cheese by itself is absolutely disgusting. Spicy food is overrated. Pickles suck. Pop tarts taste like cardboard. Chocolate flavoured foods never taste good. Muffins are better than cupcakes. The leafy part of celery stems is actually kind of yummy BECAUSE it’s bitter. Italian food is overrated. These “fancy” doughnuts with a bajaillion toppings and flavours in one are actually kinda gross. Like, they’re always drowned in icing and glace. Sour cream is nasty. White sauce pasta dishes are nasty. There is no such thing as “too spicy”. Banana milk is amazing. Coconut is awful. Pickled beets are amazing. Green tea is overhyped. Pizza is better than pasta. Mayo > ranch. Fruits (eg cranberry/oranges/apples) don’t belong in salads. Salads are overrated with or without fruit. Hot cocoa doesn’t need to be sweetened. Bell peppers are disgusting. Milk chocolate is gross. Original greek yoghurt is disgusting. Sushi rice is the best rice. Meat or fish does absolutely not belong in salads. Plant based ice cream is so much better than “regular” ice cream. Ketchup goes well with rice. Kimchi is only good if super spicy. Adding an egg to packaged ramen makes it 10x better. Sweet foods are not a meal. Oysters are not about the taste because they barely have any; they’re all about showing off and being fancy schmancy. The crumbs at the bottom of cereal bags are actually good. Fries/ chips are great with tartar sauce. Cheesecake has a weird and unpleasant texture. Japanese peanut cream is actually good. Natto and konnyaku don’t actually smell bad. Tangerines/clementines taste better than oranges. Mars bars are kinda boring. Fries are better with melted cheese. Eggplant is disgusting. Celery is gross (both cooked and raw). Tartar sauce is an underrated condiment. Chicken is great with honey sauce. Fish and chips is the best diner food. Fry sauce is better than ketchup. (if you mean fritessaus, then yes) Sun dried tomatoes are an underrated pizza topping. Black olives > green olives. Cold tea is bad. Oyster sauce > soy sauce. Alcohol doesn’t belong in cooking/baking! Salty + sweet is a good combo. Blueberries are only good in muffins. Mint and chocolate combo is hella overrated. Unsweetened yoghurt is pretty shit. Spearmint is an awful, awful thing. Salsa is nasty. Most sponge cakes are too dry that they don’t have any flavour and they’re hard to eat because they crumble. Peas mixed with oatmeal are amazing. Chicken tenders/fingers/strips > chicken nuggets. Avocados are disgusting. M&Ms shouldn’t be an ice cream topping. Fish does not belong on pizza. Brownies > chocolate cake. Broth is much better than creamy soups. Oranges are the best food ever. Shirataki noodles can actually be pretty good, if you find out how to prepare them / which sort to buy. Chicken and waffles is better with gravy. McDonald’s are the worst fast food nugget. McFlurry is the best McDonald’s dessert. Canned green beans > fresh green beans. The best fruit to go with ice-cream is banana. Avocado sushi is the best sushi. Chicken does not belong on pizza. Asparagus is one of the absolute worst tasting and smelling vegetables. Goat cheese pizza is good. Tomato juice > fruit juices. Vanilla pudding > chocolate pudding. Parsley is gross. Macarons look better than they taste. Lemon pastries are the worst fruit pastries. Some meat substitutes actually taste better than meat. Strawberries are good but strawberry flavoured things aren’t good. Starfruit isn’t as good as it looks or sounds. Passionfruit is overrated because there’s barely anything to eat. Artificial coconut flavors are delicious but actual coconuts taste awful. Orange cream soda > regular orange soda. Butter on bread is unnecessary. Mayo is the best salad dressing. Horseradish is an overrated flavour. Cooked cabbage is nauseating. Sushi > steak. Sugar is fine. Brown spotty bananas > unripe bananas. Strawberry milkshake is the best milkshake. Cold pasta is good but cold pizza is gross. Biting icecream or a popsicle is not the right way to eat them. Apples are overrated. Brussels sprouts are delicious. Tomato-based pasta dishes are better than the creamy, cheesy ones. Thick, chewy oatmeal > thin, creamy oatmeal. The smell of cooking cauliflower is not that bad. Eggs with ketchup is good. Rice is amazing even on its own. Watermelon is disgusting. Cucumbers are not tasty at all. Pickled herring is god awful. Water actually has a taste and that taste is bland. Spaghetti pasta >>> shell pasta. Pumpkin tastes bad. 90% of apples are gross. Tea with milk > tea with sugar. Smooth/nutty/mellow cheese is better than “sharp” cheese and way better than stanky moldy cheese. Melons are nasty. Olives are too sour and salty and are really not good. Iced coffee is gross. Chocolate milk is the best liquid. Bolognese >>>> carbonara.

Snack - serving of lemon meringue pie.
Dinner - serving of biriyani with chicken curry, potato curry, salad with ranch dressing.

Exercise - 21 mins on the treadmill at 4km/h and incline of 10%; Chloe Ting flat abs in 30 days (10 mins); 25 x (donkey kicks, butt bridges, double leg raises, crunches, half push-ups)
Had the last slice of pie today. The last time I made it was over two years ago, so I thought I'd commemorate it.
Tumblr media
Wasn't planning on exercising but then the mood struck. The walk went well, and I took some very brief breaks during the Chloe Ting video but made it through all the moves okay (with a modified bunny-hop-plank because I was indoors), and then I threw on those 25-rep moves because my abs weren't really sore from the video, so either my muscles are still working after almost two months of rest, or I didn't do the video moves correctly. Felt good after it all, which is the main thing. :)
I'm thinking of trying to properly 'meal plan' so to speak, by being more mindful of what I eat. My weight loss seemed to go fastest when I reduced my intake of bread and dairy (and sugary treats too) so I'll aim towards those two goals, as well as more fruit and veg and protein to help me feel full.
The only sweet treats I'll accept will be meringue kisses, because there are so many to get through. :P
30/7/21 Weight
SW: 80KG
CW: 63.0KG
GW: 60KG
0.5KG down from last week. Hard to believe it's already been a week since last weigh in.
Still, that's not bad for only two days back on exercise (and all that sugar 😬)
Breakfast - 2 buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and salted butter, sweetened black coffee.
Dinner - serving of mixed steamed veggies, 1 steamed dim sim, 1 serving roast chicken with spicy sauce and 2 servings stuffing, 0.5 corn on the cob.
Dessert - 1 meringue kiss.
Water - 2L, excellent.
Exercise - 21 mins on the treadmill at 4km/h and incline of 10%; Chloe Ting flat abs in 30 days (10 mins); 25 x (donkey kicks, butt bridges, double leg raises, crunches, half push-ups).
I noticed that I've lost the faint ab lines I worked so hard for all those months. ;n;
I've only gained maybe 1.5-2KGS from my lowest recorded weight, but it's really visible around my face and belly. And my arm muscles are hiding under the returning chub, which makes me sad. I worked hard for these muscles. They're still there, but I can't see them so well anymore.
Oh well, with a little work and time I can easily come back around. Just gotta stay consistent. 💪

tagged by @bardingbeedle the only person who would put up with reading this much about me.
What is the colour of your hairbrush?
I have a buzz cut, I don't have a hair brush anymore.
Are you typically too warm or too cold?
Too warm. I have been warmer than most people my whole life, and I often need to sleep with a fan on.
What were you doing 45 minutes ago?
Working on a sketch for an MTH fill (update from the end of this: I have spent an hour doing this fuckin thing)
What is your favourite candy bar?
Bounty. My favourite candy is Reese’s Pieces but I like a bounty. Or like, and chocolate without fruit in it tbh.
Have you ever been to a professional sports event?
Yes, one of my parents referees Championship Football here in the UK. I have been to a few of his games. I also went to the London 2012 Paralympic closing ceremony, if that counts.
What is the last thing you said out loud?
‘Oh, this will last me a few days’ I was talking to my mother about 1/2 a can of pringles, I was lying.
What is your favourite ice cream?
Vanilla. I am boring. But the best ice cream i’ve had was a cream/milk flavoured gelato in Florence, that shit slapped. I also like cheap strawberry ice cream when no one is trying to put strawberry bits in it.
What was the last thing you had to drink?
Dinner. A spinach, banana, summer fruits and coconut yoghurt smoothie (with extra raspberries). Its my nightly dinner to cheat more veg into my body.
Do you like your wallet?
Very much. It’s about 7-8 years old, it is faded to hell but it has spiderman and a pony ride stony pin
Tumblr media
What was the last thing you ate?
See above smoothie comment, but if that doesn't count, a sugar free mint polo.
Did you buy any new clothes last weekend?
Nope. I don't buy as many clothes as I want to, bc mens clothes in larger sizes are hard to find or expensive here.
The last sporting event you watched?
F1, I don't keep up but I watch a little with my dad every now and then.
What is your favourite flavour of popcorn?
BUTTER. They don't really have it here, and I don't go to movies much when in the states. But @festiveferret introduced me to it when we saw Ant-man and the Wasp, and much like poutine and Tim Hortons, I still crave it.
Who is the last person you sent a text message to?
My dad.
Ever go camping?
Yes, I was a Scout. I have done enough camping to not want to do more, it was fun when I wasn't organising it.
Do you take vitamins?
Yes, but not as often as I should, and as much as my mother bothers me too.
Do you go to church every Sunday?
Nope, not even when I considered myself christian. I go only go to church for other peoples events, and I’m an agnostic now.
Do you have a tan?
I cannot tan. I just can't, I burn lobster red in 5 minutes outside without literal sun cream for BABIES
Do you prefer Chinese food or pizza?
Chinese food, It was easily what taught me to like more foods also, I don't eat tomato so I can't have most pizza. I love a good garlic base/bechamel, but you can't really get that here easily (yes yes I could make my own but that ruins half the point of pizza)
Do you drink your soda with a straw?
I don't drink carbonated drinks, because its like drinking pain. The fuck is wrong with all of you.
What colour socks do you usually wear?
Various colours, but I consider red on the left, blue on the right, my lucky socks. No I don't know why, but I take all exams and interviews wearing them. It’s just a thing.
Do you ever drive above the speed limit?
I don't drive, but if I did, No. Theres a lot of questionable laws out there but Traffic laws aren't one of them.
What terrifies you?
Pfft, most things from spiders to rollercoasters. But more seriously, Being shouted at. Shout at me and I start hyperventilating, its a thing. Also not knowing if someone is mad at me. I’m not good at reading people,
Look to your left, what do you see?
The wallet shown earlier, and the sugar free polos mentioned after that.
What chore do you hate?
Vacuuming. It makes everything in my body hurt. I would rather clean toilets.
What do you think of when you hear an Australian accent?
@s-hylor
What’s your favourite soda?
See above. I do not like your pain liquid. Apple juice for life.
Do you go in a fast food place or just hit the drive-thrus?
Either delivery or kiosk, I don't like talking to people where possible, I often need tweaks I don't want to have to remember to repeat.
Who’s the last person you talked to?
@downeyhills
Favourite cut of beef?
I don't generally eat beef, lamb, or most red meats. I love crispy chilly beef, but as anyone can point out its bc your generally don't feel the texture of the beef.
Last song you listened to?
Everybody Wants to Rule the World | Tears for Fears | Pomplamoose
I’m on a Pomplamoose kick, and I also just love this song anyway.
Last book you read?
Understanding Comics (The invisible Art) - Scott McCloud
Favourite day of the week?
Friday nights. The weekend is ahead and @loraneldin and I take to wrangling our beloved usual suspects through another week of Ults Book Club.
Can you say the alphabet backwards?
I can barely say it forwards.
How do you like your coffee?
With milk and sugar, or ultimately, in a Caramel Frappuccino bc I'm a bitch like that.
Favourite pair of shoes?
I have walking boots that don't make my flat ass feet feel like they’re dying. OR my black and green crocs (Fight me, they’re useful).
The time you normally go to sleep?
9-10 is what I'm working on, but I fluctuate depending on if I'm working on something or not.
The time you normally get up?
5-6 If I have a choice in the matter, but often 7-8 if I didn't get to bed at the right time. I’m more about getting the right hours in for my diet than time specifically.
What do you prefer, sunrise or sunsets?
Sunset is the prettiest, but I like to be awake to see the sun rise.
How many blankets on your bed?
One big thick comforter, because that's the uk standard, and I get too hot otherwise.
Describe your kitchen plates
Two types, big wide white ones with a navy blue rim. They are so large I never use them, and little Navy saucer plates I use a lot.
Do you have a favourite alcoholic beverage?
I don't drink, so no. I drink apple juice or Shirley temples when I'm in pubs/bars
Do you play cards?
Sometimes, I like to teach people to play Old Maid. It’s the monopoly of card games.
What colour is your car?
Again, I do not drive.
Can you change a tire?
I am aware I just said I don't have a car, but I do know how to change a tire. Everyone should go learn its pretty simple.
Favourite job you’ve ever had?
I have only had one job really and two job experience jobs. I did experience in a school library for a week and that was v fun and chill. I did all the jobs they had prepared for me in 2 days so I alphabetically reorganised their fiction section for the rest of the week. I LIKE ORDERING.
How did you get your biggest scar?
I no longer have a gallbladder, so I have 3 scars across my torso from that, the biggest right in the middle of my ribs. Non surgical wise I have matching scars on my knees from ripping holes in them when tripping. I have weak ankles and also I got both of those at different times.
What did you do today that made someone else happy?
I gave my spare animal crossing Iguanodon skull to a wicked artist I follow on twitter so he could complete his dino park.

Apocalypse Cookies
Tumblr media
Hi all! So; things are looking pretty rough right now. If you’re like me (i.e. an unquestionably Non-Essential worker), you’ve likely been stuck at home the past week or two with no one but your family and a dwindling supply of toilet paper to keep you company. (And several hundred pages of edits I should be working on as we speak, but let’s not talk about that.)
No, what I’m here to talk about today is cookies! A recipe I affectionately refer to as Apocalypse Cookies!
Or, if you prefer, I’ve Got Jack Shit Left in the Pantry and I Ran Out of Sweets a Week Ago But I Can’t Go Out and Buy More Because I’m Practicing Responsible Social Distancing cookies. I thought I’d share it here, in case any of you are working with the same appalling lack of baked goods as I was this morning. This recipe is designed to be easy, quick, and nigh-infinitely adjustable to whatever leftover back-of-the-pantry crap you’re working with.
Tumblr media
So, without further ado!
Step One: Check your pantry. If you have the ingredients for making regular cookies, make those first. This recipe is for the DESPERATE, do you hear me? If you still have chocolate chips, what are you even DOING here?
Step Two: Re-evaluate your conception of what counts as a cookie. These things are going to be imperfect. They may even be a little ugly. But be honest: you’re in your pajamas right now, aren’t you? I certainly am. We’re in no place to judge. Give these cookies space to be whatever they turn out to be — at least 6 feet of space, preferably.
Step Three: Gather the ingredients. The following is what I used to make my Apocalypse Cookies, but make whatever substitutions necessary.
1½ cups flour. Regular, gluten free, leftover waffle mix, anything you have. If you don’t have any flour, use oats.
1½ cups almond flour. Or hazelnut flour. Or flour flour. Or more oats. Or, if you’re truly insane and have 45 minutes to kill, stick some almonds in a food processor and grind them yourself.
Approx. ½ cup oats. Or oatmeal mix. Useful for adding bulk and filling in for any flour you don’t have. Disregard if you don’t like oatmeal cookies.
1 cup brown sugar. Or date sugar. Or coconut sugar. Or white sugar. Or ½ cup honey or maple syrup.
2 eggs. Or 1 mashed banana. Or ½ cup of yoghurt or apple sauce. Or 1 Tbsp flax or chia powder + 3 Tbsp water.
6 Tbsp water. I’m assuming you have this. I hope.
2 tsp baking powder. Or 1 tsp baking soda + 2 tsp cream of tartar. Or ½ tsp baking soda + 1 tsp lemon juice. Or use buttermilk or sparkling water in place of the 6 Tbsp water. Or, honestly, if you already have eggs, you’re probably fine to skip this extra raising agent.
1 pinch of salt.
2 capfuls almond extract + 2 capfuls vanilla extract + 1 capful orange extract. Or whatever flavors or extracts you have on hand. Some (i.e. professional bakers) would say this is far too much extract. They would be WRONG. The trick, you see, is to disguise the sins and substitutions elsewhere in the recipe with as much flavor as possible.
Optional accessories: Cinnamon. Cocoa powder. Chopped walnuts or almonds. Go nuts.
Step Four: Preheat oven to 325°F. Then, while you’re waiting:
Step Five: Rewrite your recipe. Write it down. Write it dooown! Especially if you’re using complex substitutions or a different raising agent.
Step Six: Add dry ingredients.
Step Seven: Add wet ingredients.
Step Eight: Mix. This is a one-bowl, one-spoon recipe folks. I know you don’t have the mental or physical energy to wash eight different bowls right now.
Step Nine: Line a tray with baking paper and spoon cookie-sized dollops onto tray. If your mixture is very sticky (as mine was) I recommend using a wetted fork to get the mixture off the spoon and shape it on the tray.
Step Ten: Bake until done. About 25 minutes, probably. But look, every batch of Apocalypse Cookies is its own unique creature. Listen to your cookies; talk to them. Give them the time they need.
Tumblr media
And that’s it! Eat them on their own or with tea, coffee, or whatever else you have. This is a tough and stressful time for all of us, but we’ll get through it if we just stick together. I mean — not stick together. Stay apart, that is to say. Stay at home. You know what I mean.
Eat cookies and stay safe!

Day 10 - 30 day challenge
I woke up at 6am - headache free yay!
At 9:15am I did a 15 minute arm and booty workout. I wanted to do longer but started to feel nauseous so I need to listen to my body and take it easy as my body recovers.
At 11am I had alpro go on high protein soya yoghurt with cinnamon granola and blackberries again 😍
Tumblr media
At 12:10pm I had a soreen banana lunchbox loaf as a snack.
Tumblr media
At 1:40pm for lunch I had leftover rice to use up so I froed it up with some egg, onions, green beans, furikake seasoning, sou sauce and queen chicken style slices. I didn't actually like the flavored of it so I put ketchup on it and ate as much of my portion as I could. To make me feel happier afterwards I had 3 squares of turmeric and ginger dark chocolate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a snack at 4pm I had one of the spiced apple and carrot (refined sugar free) mini muffins I made. Their key ingredients include home made apple sauce, oats, coconut oil, maple syrup, shredded carrot, raisins and spices.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At 5:15pm I had an eat natural bar.
Tumblr media
At 7:30pm I had pumpkin ravioli with 2 turkey sausages.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At 7:50pm as we watched ggbo i had 2 mini coconut chocolate pots and a cup of tea. In the supermarket my fiance was trying to 'treat' me to a much unhealthier chocolate dessert but I really wanted to pick they healthiest indulgent option I could do we went to a different supermarket to get these 😁
Tumblr media
Today has just been one of those days where I was super hungry (probably because I hated my lunch and I'm fighting this cold). I tried to make the healthiest choices I could but listen to my body. Because, let's be honest, I would have loved to eat some cookies and donuts 😂

Vegan Diet Benefits
Becoming vegan can be one of the most significant life changing moments of one’s life. Not only can you feel increased energy, experience a greater range of foods and are able to easily maintain a trim figure, there are environmental and ethical side effects as well. Animal products have been found to be unnecessary for optimal health.
Vegan diets are higher in dietary fibre, magnesium, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, and photochemicals, and lower in saturated fat and cholesterol. Studies also show greater mental health as a result of veganism, and many believe it brings good karma.
 Losing/maintaining a healthy weight
Because vegan diets are naturally low in saturated fat, high in fibre, they cut out refined sugar and are packed with antioxidants, it is natural to feel more satisfied with more healthy alternatives, and thereby eat less. This leads to a lower weight, and the ability to maintain that weight because of the complete change of diet over the long term. Vegans have been reported to have the lowest body mass index. Because vegan diets are high in healthy carbohydrates, there are less cravings for unhealthy carbohydrates containing refined sugar, that are often the cause of overeating and weight gain.
 Save money
Animal products are among some of the most expensive foods in the world, and so changing to a plant-based diet can help reduce expenditure on food. Food such as soy, rice, beans and grains can be bought in bulk, have a long shelf life and are very inexpensive compared to animal foods such as prawns, caviar, high quality beef and gourmet cheese. Fruits and vegetables bought in season are also very economical. Growing one’s own fruit and vegetables is a practical possibility, whereas access to animal products is most likely only possible through purchasing these at a store, often for high prices.
 Health
The health benefits of a vegan diet may include increased heart and bone health and a decreased possibility of obesity. Many individuals have testified to an increase in overall health after eliminating all animal products. Some individuals on plant-based diets have also experienced a more youthful appearance. More fruits and vegetables have been shown to lead to greater mental well-being. The high fibre content of a vegan diet also contributes to greater regularity in elimination.
Better digestion, clearer skin and better sleep habits have also been reported as positive side effects of a vegan diet.
 Increased energy
There is evidence of increased energy levels for vegans due to the lower levels of processed fat and sugar and more healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Dairy products that are known to promote a good night’s sleep are replaced with plant-based foods that promote greater alertness and zest for life. Animal based foods may also contain arachidonic acid that has been shown to cause a downturn in one’s mood.
 Prevent the exploitation of animals
Animals are continually being exploited for food, clothing and furniture.
Changing to a vegan diet has a significant impact on promoting the just and kind treatment of animals. Although vegetarianism is a significant contributor, taking the extra step to becoming vegan can help with the just treatment of cows, bees, and young chickens that lay eggs. Male chickens are killed because of their inability to lay eggs. Male calves are slaughtered for veal. There is overwhelming evidence to show the unjust treatment of animals that are slaughtered or manipulated for human food.
Animals are often slaughtered alive, live in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions, often physically abused, stand in their own feces, and often receive no exercise, fresh air and sunlight. The workers that care for these animals are often working in poor conditions as well.
 Benefit the environment
We can lower our carbon footprint by avoiding all animal products. Large areas are needed to grow crops for animal feed. Great quantities of water are needed to water these crops, as well as to provide water to feed the animals.
Production of grain feed is a leading factor in deforestation, habitat loss, and species extinction. The developing world often spends money on crops to feed livestock to provide them with income, instead of using it for food for themselves. Studies have shown that a smaller number of crops and water are required for a vegan diet.
A plant-based diet requires a third of the land that a meat-based diet needs. Less greenhouse emissions, and minimal contribution to climate change are also positive side effects of a vegan diet.

Pancakes on my mind..😌 Yesterday has definitely been the hardest day of juice fasting so far and all I wanted was to dig into a big stack of pancakes with all the toppings.🍮🙊 Listened to a specific guided meditation episode which is supposed to help you with cravings.. it didn’t. Probably because I didn‘t have cravings, I was just hungry.😂 Especially in the morning as I'm such a morning eater, after lunchtime the hunger feeling was pretty much gone. Anyway, I made it through day 3.. I hope today will be easier but I think so, feeling no hunger so far.✌ Already looking forward to the weekend and breaking the fast on Sunday. Won’t start with pancakes though but with something light.🍏 On Sunday I‘m going to the „Veggie & Frei Von“ fair in Stuttgart – will be hard to not try a lot of different treats, I guess, but I don’t think it will be good for my stomach to eat a lot of different foods on my first day of eating again. Don’t wanna ask too much of my body.😉 . . 📸Pancakes: Mix 1 mashed banana, 5tbsp flour, 1tbsp corn starch, 1tbsp plant protein powder, 1tsp baking soda & as much plant milk you need to get your desired texture. I like the dough a little thicker, makes the pancakes thicker & fluffier. Bake the pancakes in a pan with a little coconut oil. I topped mine with soy yoghurt, blueberries, cute little vegan chocolate speculoos. Chocolate sauce: Maple syrup, cacao & water. 🐎🎄✨ . . . #pancakes#pancakesaturday#pancakemonday#veganpancakes#bananapancakes#blueberries#blueberrypancakes#speculoos#soyyoghurt#veganbaking#veganism#veganfood#healthyfoodporn#bestofvegan#veganshares#veganfoodshare#veganfoodspot#eattogrow#treatyoself#vibrantfood#highcarb#plantpower#veganworld#slowfood#intuitiveeating#dontstarveyourself#cravings#soyummie

CHIA PUDDING
You only need almond milk and chia seeds for this recipe. Simply add two tablespoons of chia seeds to a cup of almond milk. Let it sit for ten minutes then enjoy the mixture. Chia pudding will give you omega 3s, protein, and keep you full for long.
BANANA PANCAKES
These pancakes are made from banana and eggs. They are perfect for most people since they’re dairy-free and gluten-free. Go here to learn how to make this weight loss-friendly diet.
SHREDDED CHICKEN FOR TACOS
This is probably one of the easiest chicken recipes. Put raw chicken breast in a slow cooker, top it with salsa then cover it and leave it to cook. After four hours your chicken will be ready and juicy.
2-INGREDIENT COOKIE
Most healthy cookies require you to use baking soda or boxed cookie mix, not this one. All you need is two old (overripe) bananas and one cup of oats. These cookies only take 15 minutes to prep. They’re excellent for breakfast or midday snack. Go here to see recipe instructions.
SWEET POTATO PANCAKES
These pancakes are delicious and super-healthy. And the best part is you can make them on weekdays since they only take a few minutes to prep. They will give you fiber, proteins, omega 3s and much more. Here is the recipe for 2-ingredient sweet potato pancakes.
2-INGREDIENT COCONUT AND BANANA COOKIES
These banana and coconut flakes cookies are perfect for breakfast or a snack. They are delicious and easy to prepare. Note that using overripe bananas will make the cookies sweeter. I got this recipe from this blog.
PUMPKIN MUFFINS
To make pumpkin muffins mix a can of pumpkin puree (14 oz.) with a package of spice cake mix and ¾ cup of water. Put the mixture in tins and then bake. Get more details.
WALNUT BUTTER
If you’ve never liked walnuts because of their bitter taste, this recipe will make you love them. Use a high-speed blender to chop two cups of raw walnuts. Add three tablespoons of raw honey and continue blending until it’s smooth. Feel free to apply it on bread or just eat the butter.
PEANUT BUTTER BANANA ICE CREAM
You can enjoy homemade ice cream without consuming excess calories. Slice four bananas into small pieces and then put them in a freezer for two hours. After two hours blend the bananas until the mixture is smooth. Add two tablespoons of peanut butter to the mixture, and then blend until they mix properly. Enjoy your ice cream!
EGG DROP SOUP
This soup recipe is loaded with proteins. To make this recipe you only need chicken broth and three eggs. See the recipe here.
COCONUT WHIPPED CREAM
Regular whip cream is loaded with sugar, so here’s a better alternative. And the good this is you don’t need an electric mixer to make whip up coconut milk.
Put the can of coconut milk in a fridge overnight or at least 6 hours. Make sure you don’t shake the can when you remove it from the fridge. Open the can of coconut milk carefully, scoop the thick cream and put it in a mason jar. Add maple syrup to the cream and then shake it vigorously for 3-5 minutes until the cream is thick. Serve it immediately and enjoy.
Visit Megan’s page, for more details on how to make coconut whipped cream.
NO-BAKE ENERGY BARS
Homemade energy bars are the way to go. Processed ones are filled with sugar and will trigger your cravings. To make this energy bar you need hot water, oats and dates. See the recipe here.
PIZZA DOUGH
For this recipe you will need plain greek yogurt and self-rising flour.  Go to Delish to see directions for making pizza dough.
BANANA AND MELTED DARK CHOCOLATE
Dark chocolate has strong antioxidant properties and can help curb cravings. In fact, this snack can help satisfy your sugar cravings without consuming excess calories.  One banana and 5 grams of dark chocolate add up to 170 calories.
Slice 2 bananas into small pieces then dip them in melted dark chocolate and enjoy.
BROCCOLI AND MELTED CHEESE
This is a low calorie meal that will keep you full for long. Steam broccoli over simmering water for three minutes then put it in melted cheese.
CUCUMBER AND HUMMUS
This is a no-cook recipe. Simply deep cucumber sticks in hummus. Feel free to add a little raw honey in hummus to make it sweeter.
HOMEMADE SAUERKRAUT
You will never buy canned sauerkraut after trying this. Fermented veggies are rich in probiotics which are beneficial to the good gut bacteria.
This recipe is a time-saver since you can make sauerkraut that will last for a week. Here is the recipe.
PUMPKIN PASTA
The ingredients for this recipe are: pumpkin puree and flour. Pumpkin pasta only takes 20 minutes to prep and it’s delicious. Go here to try the recipe.
STRAWBERRIES AND GREEK YOGHURT
Eat this combination for breakfast or a snack. Strawberries contain vitamin C and antioxidants. Greek yogurt contains protein and it is filling. Put greek yogurt in a bowl, slice strawberries and add them to the yogurt.
SLOW COOKER BBQ CHICKEN
All you need for this high-protein meal is boneless chicken breast (skinless if you want to lose weight) and bbq sauce – bought or homemade. Cook the chicken in a slow cooker for 4 hours then take it out, pour bbq sauce on it and enjoy. See recipe here.
As you can see, it’s easy to eat healthy if you put a little effort. Now use these recipes to change your eating habits and drop excess weight.

(un)popular food opinions! Here are possibly unpopular food opinions collected from random people; bold what you agree with.
Cheddar is an overrated cheese. // yeah we all know it’s a fruit Tomato sauce/paste is gross. // yup whole milk for me or I’m not gonna eat it Fries are good w/ maple syrup. // what, it’s the first time ever I’m seeing that statement White monster is way too sweet. // all of them are Cheese is overrated. Pasta isn’t actually that good. Standard pizza tastes like greesy cardboard. Courgette (zucchini) is one of the best veggies. Grapes are absolutely disgusting. All of them. Same with anything grape flavored. Turkish delight chocolate is actually really, really good. // what? Turkish delight is a chocolate?? Cereal is best made with hot water. Nuts are a safe food, at least they become one when you realise that nearly every study correlates them with either weight loss or maintenance. // tell it to a person with nut allergy and see their reaction lol BBQ sauce is trash. // ranch? ketchup?? what the f are you doing to our national dish omg Sugar in coffee/tea or any other drink is terrifying. // yep broccoli and cauliflower are flowers Black licorice is good. Eggs are way better tasting with the yolks and worth the calories. Bananas are far better eaten when the skin is still tinged green, rather than fully ripe. Chocolate should be nuttier. Like, peanut slabs should be the gold standard of how many nuts you put in chocolate. // again, what about people with nut allergies?? // wait is there such a thing?? :O Coffee is actually better black. // instant sensory overload, nope thanks Icing ruins baked goods. // never heard of either lol Veggie bacon is better than real bacon. American cheese is actually just fine. Sweet potato fries are far superior to regular fries. // nope your American rip-off will never be better than the original that we invented Waffles or pancakes ALWAYS need to have a topping. Scrambled eggs are better without additions like onions/cheese. // what, cheese in scrambled eggs?? I’m too European for this survey lol Ramen tastes better when you just *dip* the block of noodles in the broth. Nestle chocolate isn’t that good. Coconut is an amazing snack to monch on. 🔥Pancake Day 2018: Where to find vegan pancakes in London🔥
Reviews, recipes and a feast of flavours
Foodie holidays can be a struggle for the average vegan.
There is perhaps no trickier date than Shrove Tuesday, when the country dedicates itself to eating a dish that is usually about 50 per cent egg.
Pancake Day doesn’t have to be a time of polite refusals for dairy-free folk, with plenty of London restaurants – vegan and otherwise – now boasting alternative plant-based options on their menu all year round.
Check out these vegan pancake purveyors and join in on all the flipping fun.
Where The Pancakes Are
Pretty much everything on the menu at this Borough Market spot is a pancake. Whether it’s a Dutch baby (an American-adapted German iteration) or a polenta corn fritter, it’s basically a pancake. The even better news for vegans is that almost all of those pancake options can be made using a vegan “3-in-1” batter that is not only plant-based but dairy-free and wheat-free. Vegan toppings include the veg-packed 1000 Baby Greens which is flavoured with cumin and chilli, and topped with piles of baby salad leaves.

Comptoir V
Globetrotting vegan restaurant Comptoir V embraces plant-based recipes from around the world, and looks to North Africa for its signature dessert. Its popular Moroccan pancakes dessert is made with a batter of semolina flour and coconut oil and is topped with caramelised biscuit spread, maple syrup, vegan ice cream and a sprinkling of chopped nuts.

Senzala
This long standing Brixton Village favourite has almost 40 crepes and galettes to its name, all of which are available to order with its gluten-free, vegan buckwheat batter. You can of course request to leave out the cheese on some of them, but designated vegan options include the Juarito, which comes filled with black beans, piquillo peppers, courgette and guacamole, and The Sweetie Vegan made with maple syrup, banana strawberries and mixed nuts.

Redemption
This trio of London bars is an all-vegan affair, from the cocktails to the food menu. It’s all-day offering includes two brunch-worthy pancake dishes: sweetcorn and red pepper pancakes are made with polenta and flavoured with chilli and spring onion, before being served with avocado and roasted tomato. Meanwhile, the buckwheat batter, American-style pancakes come laden with coconut yoghurt, banana, berry compote and chocolate sauce.

Osu Coconuts
This street food favourite uses coconut water to make its vegan, gluten-free pancakes, which travel between Shoreditch’s Sclater Street, Brick Lane Market and Broadway Market. Varieties on offer include a savoury dhal puri pancake served with pumpkin, chickpea curry and plantain, while a longer list of sweet treats include blueberry and maple syrup, or stewed apple with custard caramel and a digestive biscuit crumb.

The Gate
Having been promoting meat-free food since 1989, The Gate is a much-loved favourite of the vegetarian scene that now boasts an almost entirely vegan menu. Brunch is one of the more recent additions to its repertoire, sporting a dish of banana and berry American-style pancakes served with lashings of maple syrup.

By Chloe
Plant-based fast food chain By Chloe hails from the States, but made its first London home in Covent Garden two years ago. It’s since launched two more sites in the capital, and expanded its vegan remit from burgers and fries to a sprawling brunch menu. Here you’ll find its daily-changing gingerbread pancake, which comes topped with the likes of spiced pear and raisin compote, coconut whip, or whipped maple butter.

The Breakfast Club
The London-conquering breakfast fanatics have a whole section of their menu dedicated to pancakes, with two of those boasting plant-based credentials. Diners can opt to switch up the pancakes and bacon option with vegan batter and meat, or they can opt for the new PB&J, a plant-based, gluten-free stack topped with peanut butter, jam, banana, fresh berries and syrup.

Farmacy
Health-focused vegan restaurant Farmacy boasts the likes of a “protein” omelette and “rawnola” made from sprouted buckwheat on its breakfast menu. If you want to keep your health kick a little more forgiving, the house pancakes are made with buckwheat flour and served with indulgent portions of coconut yoghurt, fresh seasonal fruit, maple syrup and caramelised pecans.
