“I thought you never wanted to see me again.” The sorceress curled her legs beneath her body, against the red and clumped sand of the battlefield. The soldier she sat across from was one she was all-too-familiar with.
“I need your help.”
“You want healed," she hummed, and her red hair whipped around her face in such thin tendrils that Hero was surprised they didn't slice her cheeks like a blade. "Last we spoke, you told me you would defy death so you and I never met again. Now look at you. Blood on your lips.”
The sorceress could arrive on her own, when a soldier, or many, of her kingdom died. She came to clear the battlefield of her people. She did so now, her toes curling in the bloody sand as she reached a hand towards a dead soldier, the one whose blood she sat atop of. The soldier vanished. His afterlife would be a clean slate, no lingering messes which made him wish he were still alive, with comrades or family back at home. He wouldn’t suffer, for he never asked to stay alive. He would reach Bliss- nothingness.
If she were summoned, the sorceress would save the one who called on her. They were easy to spot, for the only way to summon her as a savior was to taste the blood of a fallen comrade. These men always had blood on their lips, just like Hero.
He held a hand against a wound on his stomach. “Please. I have someone to return to.”
“You know what it would mean if you did this?”
Hero took a breath. Being saved meant he broke his vow to his kingdom; he would have rejected a dignified death. He would be banished to an afterlife with the sorceress. He would face a life without sentiment, with a woman who loved him, but whose love he could never return.
“I always wanted you in the afterlife. I never thought it would come at the cost of you loving another woman.”
“We were children.”
“I held out for you,” she whispered. The jagged edge in her voice, the cutting edge which told him she held contempt, was gone.
Then you were naive. But what choice did she have in the matter? She was trained all her life to serve the soldiers of their kingdom, to make them an afterlife worth fighting for, to punish them when they didn’t appreciate the gift, to love them and the wars they fought. She was only ever taught to fall in love.
“You saw me when no one else did.”
“I was being kind.” They warned him not to get too close. ‘She’s dangerous.’ He didn’t understand it then, but he did now. Knowing she had full control of whether he died in this moment and was banished to an afterlife with a lonely sorceress- herself- or whether he went home to the love of his life...it made his palms sweat. His stomach stung from the salt.
Hero prayed. He wasn’t supposed to. The gods were meant to be scorned, while his sorceress received the praise. Right now, he saw no other choice. Secretly, he always worshipped the gods, and believed they would grant him a peace which was deserved, not vowed. They would save him.
"If you love me at all," Hero panted, "you will help me get home."
"You are going to be my Hell, you know that?" She slid across the ground to another body, which she touched, and promptly made disappear. Another soul sent into nihilism. "I will send you home and you will come back to me. Then, I will be forced to love you when you have no care for me at all. We will both be punished, and what will my misery be for? What have I done, Hero?"
"You are kind," he said, "and kindness must be met with consequence. The person who perseveres through that unfairness is the strongest of them all."
"And what if I do not care about strength?"
He was bleeding out. His hand didn't possess the strength, nor his mind the will, to hold his wound. "You choose to be strong like you choose to be kind, to love. If nothing else, you choose it because it is all you know."
She breathed. It was all she could do; it was all she knew. Looking at the bodies around her, she knew she had so much work to do. She would be here for hours- walking to one body, kneeling, touching them, and moving to the next. Body after body after body.
In another moment, she stood and held her palm out to the sky. In her hand, a pomegranate appeared, red and glistening in the sun like every other drop of blood on the field.
"If the woman you love is worth both our miseries, you will crawl to this fruit and eat every aril." She broke the pomegranate between two hands, ignoring the juice that dripped down her white and bloodied dress, and then she dropped both halves where the first soldier's body was. If Hero made it, he would taste the blood on the fruit, and she would be summoned again. She would save him.
***
As the sun set, the sorceress returned to her pomegranate. It was uneaten and untouched, though the whites of it had become yellowed from exposure to the air.
Hero's fingers were curled just short of the fruit. So close, yet so far away. If kindness was always met with consequence, she wondered why the scene before her felt so good. She was liberated, out of love.
Leaning down, she picked up one half of the fruit before plucking an aril and placing it on her tongue as she watched the sun finish setting over the field of red sand.
Every soldier had reached Bliss, and every sorceress, too.

In general
Beautiful, black-eyed Nyx, cloaked in darkness, older than old, daughter of misty Chaos, mother of great and mighty spirits, I call to you. Ever-present one, you live in the shadows; we know you in the dusk, in the comfort of the night. Broad-winged Nyx, you clasp the hand of bright Hemera, each eve and morn, you greet her with love and sorrow for only in those moments may you embrace your child. Goddess, awesome one, in your realm are we all unblemished, in your realm do lovers’ promises ring true, in your realm are all things possible, if only until daybreak. Nyx, I honor you.
Small prayer
“Nyx, mother of the night, mother of sleep, mother of death: Might your darkness embrace me Might your energy caress me Might you be mine and Might I be yours Blessed be.“
In general
O ancient Goddess, born of Chaos and steeped in shadow, I honor you now and always. With eyes which have watched the beginnings of all that is, see us now embracing your sleep and mystery. With power that strikes fear into the hearts of the most revered of Gods,
I remember your strength when I am searching for my own. In the starless night where light shines not i will give my thanks to your Greatness, And surrender to the dark.

Lucifer
Lucifer is a Latin word coming from the words lux, meaning light, and fero, meaning to bear or to carry. Literally translating to light-bearer.
Lucifer as a Roman Deity
Lucifer has had many faces throughout history. One of these being the Roman deity of the morning star, or Venus, considered the male equivalent of the goddess Venus. He is attributed to being the god of enlightenment and illumination. Lucifer is often depicted carrying a torch, and said to be equal in beauty to the goddess Venus. Due to being the morning star, I can also see Lucifer being associated with war as well. Especially considering his association with learning and knowledge, as well as that Venus also historically had war epithets.
In the Greek pantheon, they separate the morning star and the evening star into two seperate deities, being Phosphorus/Eosphorus and Hesperos. Eosphorus meaning “dawn-bringer”, and Phosphorus meaning “The bearer of light”. Phosphorus and Hesperos are the sons of Eos, Goddess of dawn, and Astraios, God of dusk. Phosphorus is the father of the Hesperides, nymphs of the evening time and light of the sunset.
Lucifer in Abrahamic Religions
Historically, Lucifer was never mentioned in the Bible at all. His name being associated to Christianity nowadays is due to a mistranslation of a poem about a fallen king. However, he is a big part of Christian culture now, and there are myths associated with him.
Lucifer was said to be the most beautiful and intelligent of God’s angels. He was God’s right hand. Until he defied God. There are many different versions of the fall of Lucifer.
One version of this story says that Lucifer became overly prideful of himself, his beauty, intelligence, power, that he thought himself worthy of being worshipped equal to God. Because of this, God cast him out of heaven.
Another version is that Lucifer was jealous of Jesus Christ. He gathered the angels and brought forward the idea of worshipping him instead of Jesus. Some of the angels sided with Lucifer, while others did not. There was a meeting between God, Lucifer, and all of the angels in which God said that their rebellion was unforgivable. There was a war between the two sides, but ultimately God and his angels won. Lucifer and the angels who followed him were banished from heaven.
Lucifer in Modern Witchcraft
In more modern witchcraft, there is a tradition which states that Diana, queen of witches, created Lucifer when she split herself into two pieces, darkness and light. She kept the darkness for herself, and Lucifer kept the light. Lucifer and Diana also have a child, Aradia. In this tradition, Lucifer is seen as the god of light, and masculine energy. One of the most influential sources for this tradition is The Gospel of the Witches by Charles Godfrey Leland.
Lucifer in Demonolatry
In demonolatry, Lucifer has many titles. Prince, King, Emperor, Lord. Lucifer is a demon of transformation, enlightenment, awakening, self-discovery, self-empowerment, and more. He is usually attributed to the element of air, and also pride.

Red was my favourite colour growing up. Because Red is the colour of sunsets, because roses are red, because rubies and maple leaves are red, because i love strawberries and pomegranates, and because red can be described as scarlet. But now that it’s everywhere around, i hate it. Because it’s also the colour of blood and i am devastated by seeing it dripping out of the bodies of people i loved. I remember my homeland as it is a mirror i look at. i’ll forget my name before i forget it. Because i cannot liberate my home with my two little palms and i am tired of carrying the bodies of my beloved in my arms. Because i cannot shelter my people under the ethereal wings of an angel. I’m just a human, after all. I loved white but i am tired of wrapping the human bodies in a white shroud. They are not just flesh and bones. They were living breathing human beings until yesterday. I hate white. I loved grey but the smoke rising from the bombs make me throw up. I am just a child after all, to let go of everything dear to me is like stabbing my own heart a thousand times. This is a cruel destiny written for a child. I hold my hands over the ears of my heart, so i don’t hate this fate. - Sanawar Fatima Saeed

My last question of today (I'll have to stock up on more) is how was Nooroo's time in the past? He has been enslaved for much more time than the others by Gabe, so even if he had to see his power being abused in the past, this time must have been therapeutic for him. He even got to wield his powers alongside a Guardian. And one of the most skilled miraculous users of all time to boot! (Even if he had to endure Tikki's death glare any time before and after transformations).
Nooroo lay still on Marinette, she was humming away as she sketched in her sketchbook with no care in the world. The small lavender kwami stared up at the ceiling of their makeshift home, his butterflies fluttering around the room contently. It was so much different from the cold, dark, and empty lair that Gabriel was constantly in, the butterflies preferred the sunlight and the open blue sky to wander around in. Gabriel's lair was a prison for Nooroo and his butterflies. The place he called home now was much better than the lair. He got a bed, a small makeshift bed that was soft and warm, and made just for him. He felt bad that he didn't like the bed, he wanted to sleep with Marinette like Tikki did. Marinette didn't mind, so Nooroo got to sleep with Marinette just like Tikki did. Close, warm, happy, and safe.
Marinette was also patient with Nooroo, she never got mad when Nooroo would flinch away from her hand, or when Nooroo would hide from her. She was caring to him, she adjusted to him as he adjusted to her. She would kiss his head and hold him for hours as he cried. She wouldn't force him to transform her, when Nooroo said no to transforming her Marinette didn't hit him, she just smiled and pet his head, and said 'okay'.
She also fed him actual food, he learned that Gabriel had been feeding him and his brethren what humans called dog food. Food for pets. Nooroo cried when he found out and Tikki had to scold Marinette for transforming with Duusu and threatening to shove dog food down Gabriel's throat not caring if it would expose her. Marinette gently introduced Nooroo to new foods, first, he ate apples, pomegranate, honey, and oranges. Then Marinette introduced him to soup, chicken soup, ramen soup, and seafood soup. He was introduced to so many new foods, but his favorite was the Dupain-Chengs deserts. Sweet treats like macaroons, croissants, cheesecake, ice cream cake, cupcakes, and ice cream.
When Nooroo was finally ready to transform Marinette he was scared that she would be disgusted by his power and his Miraculous. After all, it was his Miraculous that created Akumas, it was his powers that turned her friends and family into her enemies. His power was no gift to the humans, he was a curse. But he didn't feel that way when Marinette clipped his brooch on her bow, she smiled. "Your Miraculous is so pretty Nooroo, the colors are so soft and remind me of a sunset on a warm summer day." She told him. Nooroo wanted to cry but held the tears in as the words to his transformation were said and he was sucked into his Miraculous.
Titania was warm, warm like he was in an open field in the fresh days of spring, his butterflies were there and the sky was as blue as Marinette's eyes. Titania was loving, she accepted Nooroo's gifts with kindness. She listened to his butterflies and didn't mind when they cling to her. Titania was excited, she loved using his power, Nooroo could see all the ideas of champions swimming around in her head. Titania was understanding of Nooroo's pain, she cried the first time, feeling the pain of Nooroo and his regrets. Titania was soft, and gentle, Nooroo never wanted the feeling to end. Titania was loving, the God of Transformation had never felt so much love in his years of enslavement.
Nooroo was happy, and he hoped that Tikki would forgive him for wanting to steal her chosen. Nooroo never wanted to leave Marinette’s side.
He was finally safe and loved.

What is Rosh Hashanah and how is it celebrated?
Rosh Hashanah, meaning "head of the year" in Hebrew, is the celebration of the Jewish New Year. It’s commemorated with prayers, food and gatherings.

Rosh Hashanah is a two-day holiday celebrating the Jewish New Year and kicks off the start of the Jewish High Holiday season. Here’s everything you need to know about this important holiday celebrated by people around the world.
The two-day holiday known as Rosh Hashanah kicks off the beginning of the Jewish "High Holidays," a ten-day period of repentance and reflection that culminates with Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
But what exactly is Rosh Hashanah and how is it celebrated? Here's everything you need to know:
What is Rosh Hashanah?
Rosh Hashanah, meaning "head of the year" in Hebrew, is the celebration of the Jewish New Year. During Rosh Hashanah, Jewish people around the world ask God for forgiveness for mistakes they’ve made over the past year and remind themselves not to repeat those mistakes in the coming year.

What is Yom Kippur?
Yom Kippur comes on the last of the 10 days of repentance that began with Rosh Hashanah. The day is usually observed with fasting and extended time in deep prayer, before ending with the sounding of a "shofar," a trumpet made from a ram's horn.
When is Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur 2023?
Rosh Hashanah is observed on the first day of the month of Tishrei on the Hebrew calendar, which falls in September or October on the Gregorian calendar, the calendar commonly used throughout the world.
This year in 2023, Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on Friday, Sept. 15, and ends at sunset on Sunday, Sept. 17. Yom Kippur will begin next week on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 24, and ends the evening of Monday, Sept. 25.
How is Rosh Hashanah celebrated?
Rosh Hashanah observances include special foods, traditions and mitzvahs, or commandments, and celebrations can vary from family to family. Many people attend services at a temple or synagogue, where a special service is held with messages of hope and atonement in the new year.
A hollowed-out ram’s horn, called a shofar, is blown during services to awake any spiritual slumber and remind worshipers to return to God and reflect on their sins.
Another important part of Rosh Hashanah is Tzedakah, or giving back to those in need. The belief is that by carrying out good deeds, God will notice these efforts and bless them with a fruitful new year.
Some Jewish families toss bread crumbs into bodies of water to symbolize the discarding of their sins, a tradition that dates back centuries.

What Do People Eat During Rosh Hashanah?
Fish is a traditional meal at Rosh Hashanah as it symbolizes fertility and abundance. Some people will eat the head of the fish to express the desire to be leaders and not followers in the year.
Many Jewish families also eat challah bread and apples dipped in honey, symbolizing the sweet hopes for the New Year.
Some families will also eat pomegranate fruit as its many seeds represent the many blessings in the coming year.
What Are Rosh Hashanah Greetings?
Because Rosh Hashanah celebrates the Jewish New Year, the most common greeting is "Happy New Year." The equivalent in Hebrew is "Shanah tovah," (pronounced shah-NAH toe-VAH) which literally means "good year."
Shanah tovah is the condensed version of a longer greeting L’shana tovah u’metukah, which means “for a good and sweet year.”
You can also say "chag sameach" (pronounced KHAHG sah-MEY-akh) which means "happy festival," the Hebrew equivalent of Happy Holidays."

Happy WBW! Does your setting have any unique in-world symbolism? Like, are roses considered romantic there, or a different flower? Is there a popular symbol for death besides a skull?
I forgot this was in my drafts! Sorry this is so late! If you have questions about why any of the symbols apply to a certain concept let me know! I might do more posts like this in future, not sure yet.
I'm going to stick to Kishetal for this one, and I'm going to keep this one on the short side (For me). I'm keeping this one to just Love and Death, Hope that's okay.
Love
The Kishite understanding of love is quite a complicated one, in that there is no singular definition of love, and as such no singular word for it. The word Pati means desire or want for, this acts as a suffix for terms relating to types of love. Broadly love can be divided into ten categories, Ulipati (Romantic love), Kipati (Maternal or Paternal love), Kurapati (The love of a pet or animal), Lupati (The love between friends, Platonic Love), Seshpati (Lust, physical love), Impati (Love of an inanimate object or place), Jalimpati (Greed), Ushpati (Love of food and drink), Irpati (Love of Beauty, "Wonder"), and Naholpati (The love of deceased person, grief).

Death
Death is a complicated topic in Kishite culture, and ultimately can be divided among its two patron deities, Nahulpaha and Dualik. I wil address the differences between each of these aspects of death and their symbolism.
Nahulpaha (Nahul= Death, Paha= Father/Dad)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An important aspect of the Kishite understanding of death, its inherent impermanence. Nothing that dies, will stay dead. All living things reincarnate; mortals, animals, plants, and even some non-living items like mountains, forests, houses, and ships. The only difference being that mortals, those who are among The Awakened, have the potential to eventually, after many mortal lives, enter the Divine Realm, something that Animals, Plants, and even Spirits, cannot do. The Cycle defines the boundary between spirit and mortal; where the former exists exclusively as a spiritual being with an indefinite and/or malleable form, the latter exists as a soul inhabiting a defined, physical body. When a mortal body dies, the soul receives judgment, a process by which they decide if they should be reborn again on the same world, or continue on to be reborn in the next, each life coming closer to divinity. if reborn on the same world, the soul will not be burdened with the memory of the rejected life; while they are reborn as a clean slate in each new mortal world, and again into the spirit realm, if they reach the realm of the gods, they regain the memories of all of their satisfactory lives and attain the capacity to all of those people at once. A life may be rejected for any number of reasons: most commonly, the soul was too young to move on in the cycle, the soul was not satisfied or happy with that life, or the soul believes they did more harm than good during that life.
There is no concept of ghosts or the undead in Kishite folklore, however it is possible for souls that reject judgment to become trapped between lives, there they may attack or threaten the souls of the dead on their journey to judgment. There are a number of rituals and ceremonies meant to counteract this threat.
It is the duty of the deity, Nahulpaha, to guide the dead soul, to help them with judgment, to act as a mediator between the different aspects of the self. While called the Judge, Nahulpaha does not actually provide a sentence. It is thought to be impossible to lie to Naholpaha, as the god knows the mind of the soul.
The god is typically depicted as a dark or cloaked figure, who carries in his hand a torch, some say that this torch is some small piece of the sun given to him by the other gods. This may lead to a false impression by outsiders that Nahulpaha is meant to be a scary or wicked figure. However in the Kishite understanding he is quite the opposite. Nahulpaha is shown as kind, he comforts the dead so that they may judge themselves without fear or anger, he guides the souls to their next life, he sings and dances to comfort the lost children, he howls to welcome the faithful hounds, he pounds the drums to invigorate the fallen soldiers, and it is he who weaves the blankets for the worn mothers. Though he is initially believed to appear in his shadowy form, it is believed that he takes the form of the soul he is addressing, thus to speak with Nahulpaha is to speak with oneself.
Though it is his duty to usher mortal souls to the Divine Realm, he is alone among the gods in that he may not enter there. This arrangement is his choice, one made when mortal souls were first created. It is not unusual for the dead to be placed in their burial stones with food and drink, not for themselves but as gifts for Nahulpaha.

Dualik (The Destruction, The etymology of the name dates back to before the age of the Calamity, preceeding the Kishite Language by thousands of years)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dualik (Destruction and Time) is one of the three Primordial Beings, alongside Shobiash (The River of Creation) and Shuam (Law). They are the eternal embodiment of time and of destruction, the ferryman of the Shobiash. Both Dualik and Shuam are believed to be born of the river and the primordial nothing. It is the role of Dualik to destroy the universe at its proper time, known as the Nalbani, and to subsequently usher in the birth of a new universe. Dualik has very little to do with mortals or with the events of Kobani, and is thought of as either indifferent to or ignorant of the struggles and fates of the worlds that they oversee. This does not mean that "The Destruction'' is evil, rather it is viewed as a necessary mechanism of reality, one which all beings must heed, though one that few if any will ever see face to face.
And though Dualik is seen as time, decay, and errosion, they are also responsible for rebirth and recreation on a cosmic level. Only Dualik knows when it is the proper time for the universe to be brought to its end, and when the next should be created.
Dualik is rarely referred to in myth or ritual, when they do appear they are depicted as a many armed figure atop a barge or as 3 black circles each inside of each other.

Tumblr media
Here is the website in JP and ENG
The Cafe menu in JP and ENG
The food and drinks are both inspired by the characters Ash and Eiji as well as Ash's home town. Each item is given a description but I'll do my best to summarize. I do recommend you check out their website for further details.
FOOD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Green hill Diner's sandwiches" on the left, "Home Town pasta" in the middle, and "Fish Fry Tacos" on the right.
DESSERTS are
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Cranberry Waffle" on the left and "Mochi Pancake" in the middle and "Sunset with You" parfait on the right.
The waffles are inspired by Ash, they are topped with cranberries and cassis sorbet which are specialties of Cape Cod.
The Mochi pancake inspired by Eiji. They give a mix of Japanese and Western ingredients.
The parfait is inspired by the scene where Ash and Eiji are gazing at the sunset.
and SPECIALTY DRINKS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"My City is Red" on the left, "Your City is Blue" in the middle, and "Shooting Tea" on the right.
Ash's drink is made with cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry flavor soda drink. My guess it's also based on the song "Red" by Survive Said the Prophet.
Eiji's drink is a lychee based drink meant to express the sea and greenery of Cape Cod.
The shooting tea is obviously based on the scene of them shooting bottles. They also have a bottle of the tea that you can take home.

Will cast a curtain of coolness The sunset into the raging sea... And there will be supper on the veranda, And there'll be fruit on china And there will be red wine Soaked in all its fragrances, The sun didn't give it for nothing The pomegranate shimmer of a sunset. And there'll be a long talk About what? Who cares? And the wind, child of the blue mountains, Will echo us unknowingly.

Yalda night or Challah night is one of the oldest Iranian festivals. This celebration was registered as a world heritage on 9 Azar 1401. In this celebration, the passing of the longest night of the year and the subsequent lengthening of the days in the Northern Hemisphere, which coincides with the winter solstice, are commemorated. Yalda night is said to be between sunset on December 30 (the last day of autumn) and sunrise on January 1 (the first day of winter). On Yalda night, Iranian families usually prepare and serve a sumptuous dinner together with all kinds of fruits and, most commonly, watermelon and pomegranate. In this celebration, it is common to serve snacks, read the Shahnameh, tell stories of family elders to other family members, as well as fortune-telling with Divan Hafez. [1] However, Yalda night is the shortest night of the year in the countries of the southern hemisphere, unlike the northern hemisphere.
"Yalda" is derived from the Syriac word that means birth. Abu Rihan Biruni named this celebration as "Milad Akbar" and considered it to mean "Birth of the Sun".The term "Shab Chele" or "Shab Chele Kalan", which is used synonymously with Yalda Night in popular culture, is because the first forty days of winter are called "Big Chele" and the next twenty days are called "Chele Chele". It is said that there were forty divisions among farmers in the old calendar.Challah is two chronology positions during a solar year with the functions of popular culture, one at the beginning of summer (July) and the other at the beginning of winter (January), each consisting of two large (forty days) and small (twenty days) parts.
Yalda night entered the official calendar of ancient Iranians from 502 BC during the reign of Darius I. Chale and celebrations held on this night are an ancient tradition. The people of the distant past, whose agriculture was the basis of their life and experienced natural contrasts and seasons throughout the year, due to experience and the passage of time, they were able to adapt their work and activities to the rotation of the sun and the change of seasons and altitude. Adjust the length of day and night and the direction and movement of the stars. People in the geography of Iran, especially in the field of Zagros-Rafdin civilization, were familiar with solar phenomena such as the greatest night, the greatest day, the spring equinox, and the autumn equinox more than three thousand years ago.
Yalda night is also known as the birthday of the sun god, justice, treaty and war. There are two main narrations about it. First, on this night of Mehr, Mithra or as mentioned in the Avesta and the writings of the Achaemenid kings, Mithra (Mithra) returns to the world. He, who is one of the ancient gods of India and Iran, lengthened the hours of the day and as a result the superiority of the sun appears. Mehr worship or Mehr ritual was formed on the basis of Mithras worship in the era before Zoroastrian religion and it is also called Mithraism in Europe.
