Disheveled hair, stray strands fluttering in the breeze. The feathers of a crow, a glossy black. Half lidded eyes, shrouded in shadow. Unfocused, yet not exactly disinterested.
A sparkle gleams from within, a light in a cesspool of darkness.
When he stares at you, there’s a certain glassy quality to his pupils. As if he’s looking at something beyond your physical form. Staring straight into your soul.
Got anything to do, sweetheart?
If not, wouldn’t you like to have a seat?
Stay and keep him company.
Even if it’s just for awhile.

About him: Disheveled and carefree, Wei Jie isn’t the most presentable person. He doesn’t really give two hoots about what other people think of him, constantly acting out of the norm. Oddly enough, those erratic actions of his end up helping more people then expected.
He’s kind. Almost to a fault. Wei Jie’s fond of poking his nose into the business of others. Why the frown? What’s bothering you? If you ever mention a problem to him, he’ll go out of his way to help you out.
He can’t really say no, if you’re the one asking.
Favourite food: Barbecue Pork buns (Char Siew pao)
Backstory: With both his parents working, Wei Jie was raised mainly by his grandfather. He specialised in Traditional Chinese medicine, and would often bring Wei Jie with him to his clinic.
As a child, Wei Jie would sit on a shaky old stool, watching his Grandfather administer treatment to his patients. Foul smelling herbal concoctions, minced up into a powder. Gentle hands pressing into patients’ skin, relieving their pain.
It’s safe to say he picked up some things.
Soon, Wei Jie wasn’t a mere bystander. He was one of the staff. After class, he’ll head straight to the clinic. Running around, preparing treatments. Hand glued to the mortar and passel, spending hours grinding medical herbs into a pulp.
He’s helping people. That’s all Wei Jie needed. The smiles of relief when medicine is prescribed. The grateful looks on their faces…
That’s all he needed.
Even as his grades slipped. Even if every step was tiring, even as sleeping in class became the norm.
It was ok.
Because he was helping someone.
He doesn’t mind running himself ragged, if it was of use to someone else.
