Just wanted to give you guys some posts to let you know we're alive, and still working on Uranesia. I hope to be more interactive and do more stuff on Tumblr in the future, but I'm still busy with the project and with school. In the meantime, I'll do the best I can with these small updates.

a continuation of my lighting experiments, this time in Midnight Hollow 👻 i think i've narrowed it down but damn i did not realize how picky i am... lmao
★ base game honestly looks great tbh, i have a feeling i'll end up playing it vanilla with reshade for screenshots
★ i really like uranesia's night sky and daytime brightness, but the water is too blue
★ ddefinder's outdoor lighting tweaks look great during the day but is wayyy too dark at night. the lighter version isn't too bad though, so i may pick this one. it also comes with slightly-longer days (my beloved)
★ brntwaffles' dystopian goes very well with midnight hollow's grey tones, but i don't want very long days or fire skies
★ brntwaffles' midnight dream is really nice, but a bit too colorful
★ i will definitely be using nilxis' realistic clouds though! they're gorgeous
none of these are criticisms on the mods themselves, just on how they fit the vibe i'm looking for! they're all wonderful and i'm grateful for the creators hard work in making them ^^

Favourite Sims 3 Lighting Mods
Just the lighting mods themselves; not anything else that enhances the weather, the indoor lights, clouds, moons, suns, etc. And note: I use these one at a time, not all of them at once.
...although I suppose I COULD for custom worlds. But I don't. Because I am lazy. And get bored easily. XD This is why it takes me so long to convert anything and upload it for you guys.

It's getting silly to think. I decided to post what I like. Just block porn bots. It's all right, there is no problem.
That's why when it gets hot, I play "Palm Shadows" by Cink Sims, but this world has a little problem, so please be careful if you download it. (I think there are many simmers who know.)
It's a very beautiful world except for that problem. (I edited the parcels)

Merry Christmas! ❄️
I’ve found this amazing mod by Canibal_MLO today, and of course I’ve had to try it in Saaqartoq! I swear all these pics are unedited, the auroras look incredible in the game, they seem SO real.
I also wanted to give a small update on Uranesia: yes, we’re still (slowly) working on it. At the moment I’m working on the routing, and I’m having to change and re-build a lot of things (terrain, lots, paths, objects...) to reduce lag and make the world more playable. It’s a very complicated world routing-wise, given that it’s roadless and has many scattered areas. So this is why there haven’t been updates lately.
I hope you all have a nice holiday (even if you have to work, like me lol) ✨

[SCARAB: ReShade preset for The Sims 3]
A person on Twitter kindly asked me to share the sweet sweet smooth-skinned baby reshade preset that I use, but the thing is – my preset is the result of me clicking random buttons and moving random sliders until I liked what I saw, so I couldn't really provide the said person with any links.
Then it hit me that I simply have my own custom preset. Behold!
SCARAB (sfs, no ads):
the zip folder contains the ini file and before-after screenshots
named so because it was mostly adjusted while in Al Simhara, and imo that's where it slaps the hardest
made with The Sims 3 in mind, but if you install it onto your TS2/TS4 game and it still works, then godspeed
based on ReShade 5.0+ (mine is 5.5.2), but if you dump it into an older version and it still works, then godspeed [2]
uses qUINT shaders, Fubax Sunset Filter, and luluco250 Adaptive Tonemapper – check that you have these
for the love of god, fix your DoF and MXAO if you haven't yet
no hotkeys, we die like fish
screenshots taken in windowed mode, TS3 fullscreen likes to screw with my setup
keep in mind that I also have Uranesia Lighting and Simsi45's/Lazy Duchess's shader mods installed
subtle and gameplay-friendly – tested on a 5-year-old Lenovo office laptop
no point in keeping Sunset Filter and MXAO on during gameplay, these are primarily for screenshots
I have a soft spot for Matso DoF, and switch to qUINT if Matso doesn't do the job, but overall feel free to use whatever DoF you may like
I am NOT an expert reshader, I'm simply screwing around. If there are any issues, inform me in a civilized manner, preferably with a ready solution

This is Belmont, a medium-sized world by SimsNetwork. It uses all expansion packs and stuff packs (except for Movie Stuff). This world is heavily influenced and based on midcentury era in interiors and 80′s aestetics on community lots. Depite I’m 90s kid, I really like these vibes, but that’s not the only reason I love this town. Overall, it's like better Starlight Shores - more fun, more colorful, and a little bit of chaotic and spontaneous too.
If I would say, what’s the most important packs for this world, then I would aim in Showtime EP and 70′80′90′s stuff pack. I have only 4 stuff packs, but was still looking nice for me and only few things might have been replace.
I get it from the exchange, but you can also get it from author’s site. Two months ago Cjplays made also overview of it.
On above pics, I used Pet a Pigeon preset for gshade by @erasabledinosaur, and Uranesia lighting mod by @nilxis. But I’ll also show some photos without gshade too to show more natural colors.

PINES GShade for TS3
'Nother GShade preset, this time for The Sims 3 folks. I'm getting a better hang of it I like to think, but again this was just created for the fun of it, so I'm sorry if it isn't perfect.
Uses several shaders, so I attached some to keybinds for better ease of use ( especially for gameplay ).
When all the shaders are on, I experienced a dip of about 30 fps, this number could differ depending on your computer. I highly suggest you toggle off the depth shaders ( MXAO/DoF ), unless you're taking screenshots.
F6 - Bloom
F7 - MXAO
F8 - DoF
The MXAO is heavy on objects, but lighter on sims, and I kept the Bloom on the low end. You can also toggle it, in case you use Clean UI, and are having difficulty reading the text.

REQUIRED
This preset requires Gshade.
RECOMMENDED
I highly suggest using a lighting mod, I use Uranesia Light Mod PLUS, "NOGreenSunrise".
