When you start shaking he knows that you should stop and he knows when you need a break

When you’re at home I can see him probably helping you practice talking by giving you simple scenarios and asking you what you would do

I had an idea for Rui and Mizuki with a shut-in reader, it can be either platonic or romantic idc.

Foreground: The reader used to be friends with the two of them in middle school, as they were another social outcast. The reader stops showing up to lunch one day without a word.

Present day: Mizuki or Rui run into the reader outside, and they're both happy to see eachother, but the reader is a complete ball of anxiety. It turns out that after some severe bullying, the reader left school and went full hikikomori. They work online and only ever leave their apartment to get groceries, and they've developed a fear of just going outside.

Feel free to pass on this if it's too angsty, I'm kinda just projecting my life onto a pjsekai prompt XD

♡ OUTCASTS - Rui Kamishiro and Mizuki Akiyama x Reader

Rui:

Rui was used to people pushing him away for being weird, so he was always grateful for you and Mizuki's presence

He was expecting one of you two to leave him eventually. It still hurt when it was you though

Fast-forward to a couple years later. Rui has become an expert with robotics, and is well known for his eccentric plans

He was buying some more parts for his robots when he bumped into you

He would pause, looking you over before calling your name cautiously. Your eyes widened before you mumbled, "Rui?..." "Ah, so you do remember me! I thought you had forgotten about me completely back then." There was barely hidden hurt laced in his tone

You had detected it, and was quick to stumble an apology out. You spoke about how you had been bullied, how you shut yourself in your room, how you had grown a fear of going outside for anything except your essentials

And then, the hurt was gone, replaced by sympathy. "Ah, is that so?" He hummed, placing a hand on your head and patting you, "I apologize, I would've tried to help if I knew...How about I make it up to you?"

After that run-in, he went over to your house often. He would come with his robotics, and would talk and catch up with you as he worked. Sometimes, he'd bring Nene with him, since you were acquainted with her when you were younger

He makes a robot for you, one very similar to Robo-Nene that you can use. It can leave the house, and you were able to maneuver it from the comforts of your home. Rui would just need to accompany the robot to make sure that things didn't go wrong. He'd do anything for you though <3

Mizuki:

Mizuki was learning a lot about themself during middle school, so it was a show of trust that they let you and Rui into their life when they did

Of course, that made the sting of you suddenly not meeting with them worse. They could never find you at school either. Where did you go?...

Fast-forward to a couple of years later. Mizuki had become more sure of themself, and was as comfortable as they could be in their identity today

They were out buying groceries when they bumped into you, and it was a shock for you both

They called your name with awe, and you stared at them for a bit before your eyes went wide. "Mizuki?..." "Yeah! How have you been? I haven't seen you since..." They would trail off, looking to the side before sighing. "Ah well, that's in the past-"

You stutter out an apology before quickly and quietly explaining what had happened. When the bullying had become too much, you had shut yourself in your room, too anxious to do much outside except buy groceries

They had nodded the whole time, a sad smile on their face. "Ah, I'm sorry it reached that point..." They took your hand, squeezing it gently, "You're like one of my friends- I won't force you to go out too much, but we should really meet up again. I missed you!"

So, after that day, they go over to your house as much as they can. Sometimes, they call Niigo while they're at your house, and introduce you to them! You and Kanade bond over your hatred of going outside

They buy a lot of gifts for you since they know you fear going outside. Ena asks why they have so many bags and they respond that they're for a very special person <3

Biography:

Nene always had trouble making her friends due to her social anxiety and would be too nervous to ask teachers for help when she needed it. Thanks to this, she was often getting held back and given detentions for getting bad grades. However, during these detentions, she met a girl in the year above her who was well known for causing trouble and picking fights. This girl noticed Nene's problems with making friends and encouraged her to break out of her comfort zone, so she brought her along to skip class and mess around in town with her gang of classmates who felt as if they didn't belong. It was during this event that Nene tried graffiti for the first time and immediately fell in love with the art form. Her friends encouraged her to pursue it - scoping out good places to paint, buying spray paints for her and making sure she was able to finish her pieces. This was the first time Nene felt free, due to not being held back by her academic skills or fear of being judged by those around her. To this day, Nene still hangs around with that gang and has a crush on the leader but is still trying to work up the nerve to ask her out.

Nene is another participant of the Killing Game who doesn't get involved all that much. She tries to help out or speak up during discussions but tends to get drowned out or gives up after a while. Thanks to this, she takes more of a support role, using her quiet demeanour to eavesdrop on others so she can verify potential alibis or quietly investigating other areas to see if she can find any clues that everyone else had missed. While she doesn't talk about it much, she does desperately want to get out to find out if her gang is okay because she's terrified of losing the one place she feels as if she belongs.

my ultimate fav characters in chronological order, but i only talk about if theyd be stoners.

-scooby doo: ULTIMATE STONER DOG, psuedo canonically a stoner

-hanna marin: only smokes socially, and pretty rarely. probably used to quite a bit with mona. edibles are her FAV. i absolutely see her in seasons 1-3 as a nic kid tho. like if nic sticks existed back then the way they are now??? she and mona would be those girls vaping in the bathroom during lunch LOL (and s3 she'd be a sad nic kid cus mona is gone and shes trying to quit). she and caleb probably smoke a LOOOT in season 5 though like fr. and i think she'd always like thc vapes. spencer doesnt smoke with her cus yk. her Issues. but i think hanna smoked emily up to comfort emily after maya, and then probably later on when she was done w swimming and had body pains. she and aria smoke occasionally and get silly

-jay walker: totally gets anxious/paranoid when hes high. was probably super not into it but kai and nya seduced him LMAO. he doesnt like it tho. he also gives nic kid vibes but like. vitamin vapes LMAO he has an oral fixation sorry. but he only buys blue vapes bc its his Brand. also he usually likes those flavors.

-sakura kyoko: realistically, based on location, not a stoner. however if she was in the states she'd probably be a stoner. sadly shes lived on the streets from such a young age, much worse things could happen to her. including worse drugs. but id like to think she wouldnt bc of her headstrongness and stubbornness and whatnot. but weed? hell yea. she probably only smokes alone, she doesnt like ppl seeing her vunerable, and it helps her sleep. madoka encourages her to stop, esp when kyoko smokes cigarettes around them, and kyoko often blows puffs of smoke at sayaka in response and madoka is like D: mami also tries to get kyoko to stop but kyokos like uhhh no shut up. sayaka kinda wants to try but its nervous. also, kyoko harshly judges nic stick kids (cough sayaka cough) cus she feels cigarettes are superior

mizusawa matsuri: again, based on location, probably not a stoner. in the states, omg. yes. matsuri would be such a lil pothead i love that for her. she thinks it makes her look cool 😭 esp when yuzu is like "matsuri omg put ur cigarette out" and she gets to go "its not a cigarette 😎." has probably laced something she brought to a gathering to get everyone high without them knowing because shes yk. fucked up LOL. she wants to get mei high so badly but mei knows better and doesnt eat/drink anything matsuri offers. but yea matsuri likes corrupting people. she'd always be peer pressuring nene into smoking tbh. but she gets to smoke w harumi sometimes, and once w her and yuzu. she also likes vapes, both nic and thc.

-beth greene: no 😭 not a stoner tbh. shes a happy drunk but i picture her throwing up when she tries to smoke LMAO her friends probably had her try and she got sick. like i wanna say yes but yea. no. maybe edibles. she'd probably likes gummies

-trini (power rangers 2017): probably smokes weed somewhat regularly but not necessarily a stoner. thinks cigarettes are gross and makes fun of kids who vape (kim absolutely has a lowkey nic addiction bc shes a vaper and trini loves ragging on her for it)

-toni topaz(doesnt really count, i dont watch or follow the show. i liked her when she was first around): yes. totally smokes w sweet pea and fangs

-emily junk: not a stoner but she smokes socially in college. beca, stacie, and cr invite her to join their smoke session one day. she coughs a LOT and is probably paranoid the first few times but then she gets really giggly. when the bellas graduate get develops a slight reliance, which happens again in her senior year during finals. but shes fine ! shes just got an addictive personality

I don't mind if it's a cg or playmate :3 I mostly just age dream, not really age regress, but it's definitely more of an older age range, like around 10 or so! A curly-haired whirlwind blew through my cabin doorway and collapsed on my bed.

"Hola nene."

I smiled slightly, glancing up from my phone. "Greetings, destroyer of clean bedsheets." I nudged him with my knee. "Get off, you're probably covered in oil and grease."

Leo placed an offended hand on his chest, eyes wide in mock horror. "Perdón, you're so rude, that was one time!" He sat up, leaning over to see my phone screen. "Whatcha up to?"

"Nothing, to be honest." I clicked the screen off and tossed it on the pillow. "Waiting for the appropriate time to watch a movie."

Leo threw an arm round my shoulders. "Okay, I'm just throwing this out there..."

I held my breath. That was not a sentence that came before things I liked.

"...The Apollo kids are having a singalong by the campfire in like an hour, wanna come?"

My heartbeat was already increasing, palms already a little sweaty. "Oh, uh, I don't know-"

Leo turned so he was facing towards the side of my body. "Imma make it clear that you do not have to come, alright?" He poked my cheek to get me to turn my face to his. "Cariño, I wasn't asking because I need you to go with me, there's no obligation, I was only asking because it might be something you'd enjoy and I'd stay with you the whole time, promento."

I chewed my lip a little, feeling kind of stupid that the reassurance was really nice. There was no way I'd be able to go alone, but maybe with Leo I could deal with it?

"...I mean, you don't have to stay with me all the time, I can't ask that of you..."

His fist gently tapped my arm. "Hey, who am I?"

I grinned at him. "Isn't that Jason's line?"

Rolling his eyes, Leo grabbed my shoulders and shook me slightly. "Answer my question, idiota."

"You're my best friend." I smiled softly at him, shrugging off his hands.

"Exactly," he flicked my forehead. "And as your certified number one bestie, I'm saying I want to be around you, I like being around you and it would be cool if you'd come with me and judge Percy's singing with me round the campfire as the Apollo kids try to drown him out."

The kid made a pretty convincing argument. It would be dark in an hour anyway so I didn't need to worry too much about what I'd wear, I could disappear quietly if I wanted under the cover of shadows and voices...

"...and if I get overwhelmed, you'll come watch a disney movie with me?"

"And if you get overwhelmed, I'll watch as many disney movies as you want," Leo grinned. "Alright, I'll be back in-" he took out a pocket watch from his toolbelt and checked the time. "-exactly 49 minutes, okay? Then we'll head down to the campfire and I'll let you choose where we sit."

I nodded, happy to have an exact plan. "Thanks Leo, thanks for dealing with my shit."

That earned me another forehead flick. "No, it's not me dealing with your shit, it's us being amigos, alright? So shut up and let me leave so I can be back in 48 minutes."

.Hololive Quarterly Report

I was trying to write this, then it became painfully too long, so I stopped and I’m going to try a much abbreviated version. I don’t why I’m writing this preamble.

Usada Constructions - Buy

CEO Pekora has come back from the creative crisis in late January, her response to the Akukin relay, Pekoland has been quite the success, and Pekora has hired three new people and taken two into actual production, and there has been talks of two more recruitments. Usada constructions has been the premier revenue maker in the server already and with renewed vigor, Pekora has inadvertently cornered the service industry, with her business associate Moon, making the HoloID mall, and hiring Botan or Menya Botan and Kiara of KFP in the process, and thinking hiring Watame, which has a food delivery service.

Future is looking bright for UsaKen and one should buy the stocks now.

Akukin Constructions - Sell

Akukin has a bright start with the recent hiring spree then the wildly successful AKukin Building Relay... and boasting 25% of the workforce in their wake. But CEO has been hampered with failure of her personal projects, first with her loss in the Mario Kart tournament, and then her failure to get the elusive solo Master in Apex. Perhaps, buoyed by her failure, she’ll return to Minecraft, but for now... there has been minor outing of the employers.

Both Mio and Marine went on Minecraft once after the relay, Marine to push Kanata to make her noteblock machines, and Mio in basically upkeep. Rest of the players have been quiet or have been associated with other people. Roboco have played once of twice, although she didn’t even participated in the relay. Choco has been mostly working as a broker for Flare, who is a contractor for Akukin. Lamy and Nene has been basically doing their own thing, mostly since they haven’t had anything else to do... and that’s it, I believe. Iofi, Mel, and Akirose never returned to Minecraft after the relay.

Well, Shion returned after four months with Rushia as the guide... but seriously, Akukin is all but over unless there is a serious reorganization. Sell them!

Shirauni-Elite Conglomerate - Buy

This is outside of current consensus, but it makes for me because it fits the current state of things. Miko and Flare first found their calling by basically gaslighting Kanata into operating a school. They have sense collaborated many times, Flare being part of the four heavenly kings and expanding their partnership in the urban environment, more specifically in Los Santos.

Flare’s turn in Minecraft basically leads me to reassess Flare’s strengths. Flare was kind of the straight man of the 3rd Gen, but she has shown that she could be as wild and unpredictable as the rest of the Hololive Fantasy. Flare eventually roped Polka into an apprenticeship, and Polka’s ability to pop into the most unexpected direction really helped with Flare’s stream as well.

Flare is having the time of her life, and her lover Noel has finally turn the tide on her devastating decline due to the great ASMR purge in early 2020, by embracing the English duolingo... finally passing up people, after falling so far.

Yeah, you should buy here. Although Miko’s recent pause is little worrisome...

Oozora Constructions - Hold

Subaru has been doing a lot of work... her biggest strength has been her free talks, she is a great storyteller, but that’s obviously hampered by language, which is why Subaru made the difficult move of having English summary in her topics, which is a great improvement for her... but her collabs have been on fire, and I mean Oozora Police was just amazing, with good timing as well.

Apparently Subaru has a new costumes, collabs, and original songs coming up in the next quarter, so Subaru is going to surpass already high expectation made during this quarter. As for her company though... well, Subaru has been a... lone duck in the situation. (Sorry for the pun)

Famously outcasted as Kanata and Marine were chatting up with Moona and Reine, Subaru has been lonely for quite sometime. Subaru has been working an actual commission from Korone, although Korone is most inconsiderate Hololive member (as evidenced by two consecutive Kuukiyomi tests), which is a bad sign. Rushia has been working well, both independently and with Subaru... now Luna... that’s the cinch of the situation at this moment.

I’ll talk about Luna later, but overall Oozora has its strength and weakness perfectly balanced. It’s a hold for me, although it can be a buy quickly...

Haachama Constructions - Buy

Haachama started off kind of lost. She recently moved back to Japan, and she didn’t really knew what direction to go off on... apparently a horror unfiction was her choice. It is a great unfiction, in all its spirit, the meta-component worked perfectly, the improvisational and interactivity was unparalleled, it is astounding that this a one-woman production, since even a dedicated team might not pull off this feat, taking images made minutes before the stream is due and incorporating them into the story flawlessly.

Akai Haato always impressed me, but this arc showcased that to everyone. And her future seems to be bright as she starts working on Season 2. Just buy!

OkaKoro Constructions - Hold

Both Okayu and Korone has been steady in their output, minimal collabs and continuing their series of old games. Korone has been particularly clever in her selection of games. Everyone playing Undertale, why not play the game that inspired the whole thing, Earthbound? People are playing Dragon Quest? Well, how about a classic version, Dragon Quest 3, instead of 11S?

But other than that, there wasn’t much going on... then the OkaKore anniversary concert happened, and I realized they still have so much progress. One commenter said how Bloom was a failure because there wasn’t any idols in that list, namely Watame, Okayu and Korone, and I started to agree.

But that’s just one performance, we don’t know if this would be foundation for something better. So let’s hold on the papers for now.

Kureiji Constructions - Hold

There’s always a bit of anxiety when one is lauded as the next new star, least to me, I was always anxious about Ollie’s growth. She could be great, she has plenty of talent, she’s a massive simp and a social collaborator, but her personality can turn on a dime if not careful. Fortunately, Ollie made good on herself, having one of the more explosive growth and becomes generally accepted as a peer, recently doing a large Mario Kart collab.

It’s still a hold, since I have residual anxiety, but this is a good stable company.

Seiso Pillars - Buy

I never really got the appeal on Sora, until she put on her glasses on. Her movement was so fluid and practiced, you can tell she’s a young lady with ambition, which is contrary to the goddess image. Azki has been making the move that Suisei did in end of 2019, slowly putting herself in the comedic spirit of rest of Hololive, and her Vtuber showcase is freaking phenomenal.

Suisei has been flirting with the pillar in Minecraft, and bring the third of HoloKazo(?) in Los Santos, letting her psychopathic side fully. Suisei used her arbitrary demonitization to her advantage, reinvigorating her streams immensely. I thought about holding, but honestly this is a buy. They are going to get better.

Shirakami Forestry - Hold

Fubuki wanted to finish her cherry tree by spring. Well, that didn’t happen. But Fubuki has been doing okay. Fubuki has made some radical moves this year, firmly associating with Coco. Remember that Fubuki’s explosive growth was due to Chinese fans, and this is true of Aqua as well (which is why Aqua has been more distant lately), so to associate with one of the most hated Vtubers by the ‘West Taiwanese’ is a risk, but one made with the knowledge that her base can be shifted, since this did not impact her growth at all.

So Fubuki is going to be Fubuki, no matter who she associates with. Hold.

Free Agents - ???

Matsuri might be the most valuable free agent, but she’s kind of like a public official, helping to keep stock on the commons, and helping Luna as well. This is why Luna is the kingmaker. Luna has connections with both Subaru and Matsuri, but their connection is either loose or non-associative. She can be convinced, but she could easily refuse... and who knows how that would affect Pekora.

Most people thought Matsuri was going to join UsaKen, and that might still be the case, although Pekora is notoriously uncomfortable of senpais.

Risu is next valued player. After her explosion in the 4th quarter, Risu has been struggling to keep afloat, although Risu seems to be fine with her laggard growth. Her impromptu Nier;Automata streams are always a delight, and her Spring soundboard has been fun as well. Risu also returned to Minecraft for a bit, so she might be on the hunt... she would be a great addition to UsaKen.

Ayame is the third player. Ayame has been inconsistent this quarter, mostly since she streams the least amount out of anyone. Her recent collab with Marine was something though, although that’s going to be paused for a bit.

Anya is the last person, just because she doesn’t have Minecraft and she is the least subscribed member. I think it was surprising how Anya’s stream has been. Instead of doing gatcha and perhaps talking stream, her game selections has been far off the beaten path, more so than Korone and Okayu, and she has been blazing (that’s another pun) her own trail much to her detriment.

I mean she’s fine in the grand scope of things, still very interesting move.

Okay, that was the short version, and even then it’s really long so... yeah.

2020 winter season retrospect

Soooo. These past weeks had been crazy, huh. First I got swamped with work, then COVID-19 arrived in my neck of the woods and turned my life upside down. See, I’ve never been much of a social person and I’ve been working from home already, so I’m doing fine on that end; but if there’s something I absolutely do not deal with well is uncertainity, and so my mental health has been under a huge, huge strain. I developed a terrible case of anxiety, I spent an entire week barely knowing what I was doing, and while I calmed down somewhat in the past days, the anxiety is still very much present. It’s not really the virus - I’m doing all I can to avoid it, and I’m resigned to get it eventually so I’m just hoping that when it happens I’ll be lucky and won’t develop a bad case of it. But I’m so incredibly anxious over everything else. My country’s health care is in shambles and completely unprepared and disorganized (we don’t even have a ministry of health!), the government only cares about how they can use the situation to turn the already autocratic, fascist PM into an actual dictator, and holy shit I’m so worried about access to food. I’m avoiding grocery stores but online shops are completely overwhelmed and it’s impossible to order home delivery anywhere.

So yeah, I admit I probably haven’t been in the right headspace to watch anime in these past few weeks. Still, I did watch some, and the season has ended, so I guess I have to get it out of my system...

Eizouken ni wa te wo dasu na - RIght, so... I guess this was one of the shows that really didn’t benefit from my current state of mind. But also, I hadn’t been particularly excited about it to begin with, and then after the festival arc I... I kind of lost interest? and dropped it. There’s nothing wrong with the show at all, it’s Yuasa, it looks great, I absolutely appreciate its enhusiasm and heart. But while it’s great that the show is about people creating anime out of their love for it (or aspects of it) yet again, I can’t see myself being reflected in it. I don’t see characters being excited about anime for the same (or similar!) reasons that I am excited about animation. I suppose it’s different for someone who creates (like the characters/anime creators) and someone who consumes (me, although I do have enthusiasm for, and experience with, certain steps of the creative process). And frankly I didn’t really care about the characters on their own, so I didn’t develop any emotional connection to the show either. Too bad. Again, there’s nothing wrong with the show, it’s perfectly fine, I just couldn’t connect with it.

Jibaku shounen Hanako-kun: Surprisingly enough this ended up being a letdown for me. The show had a very strong first half and I really enjoyed it, right up to the first Mitsuba-centric episode. I loved that episode, but then it turned out to be a set-up to a larger arc, and frankly that just didn’t work for me. Mitsuba was fine as a one-episode wonder, but as a long-term character he’s just not working for me (and I find it really difficult to believe that Kou has developed such a strong connection with him during what - barely a day?), Nene’s “ditzy boy-crazy damsel-in-distress HELP ME HANAKO-KUN” routine was getting really irritating, I didn’t find the Hanako vs Whatshisface-his-brother conflict very interesting (or the brother himself, for that matter), and frankly I didn’t care for the Hanako/Nene romance either, it’s chock-full of tropes I dislike. So yeah, I loved the show’s first half, didn’t much care for the second. Too bad.

ID:Invaded: And while we’re talking about underwhelming shows... ID:Invaded and Hanako-kun actually kind of battled it out as my favorite shows this season, and as Hanako-kun started slipping I thought “hey, at least I still have ID:Invaded!” But then... the last arc happened, and the show kind of opted for the stupidest and most uninteresting (for me) story solutions. I really do like the underlying message they were going for, what with the thin line between brilliant crime-solver and brilliant murderer (but then no show did that better than Hannibal which I recently rewatched) and so on and so forth, but unfortunately every point they made was kind of overwhelmed by all the technobabble, contrived plot twists, superpowers, wells within wells within wells within wells, etc. So in the end ID:Invaded was also something of a letdown. Too bad for this as well.

... So was there a show that didn’t let me down? :D;;

Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga: ...for example this one! Certainly it helps that it’s a silly little comedy show with a very niche and stupid premise, but hey, at least I could place the bar really low and not worry about it not being able to reach it. :D

Pet: Pet hasn’t ended yet, but I might as well include it here - I have a fairly good idea of where it’s going, and if I’m even remotely correct it won’t affect my overall evaluation of the show. I hadn’t had any particular expectations of Pet when I started watching, but overall it’s been a very pleasant surprise. Sure, it has some really... questionable... aspects (seriously, whose idea was it to have the poor Japanese voice actors speak Chinese??) and the plot is fairly contrived. But under all the mangled Chinese, all the babble about peaks and valleys and crushing and whatnot, it’s a simple but effective story about the scarier aspects of love. How vulnerable it can make someone, how scary it is to open up and let others in; how love can bring the best and worst out of people, how it can be abused via manipulation and toxic relationships; and how different minds, from pure and innocent to twisted, can interpret it and act on it. It’s the kind of shit I really enjoy, so I’m glad I gave Pet a chance. It’s not going to be my favorite show, but it’s definitely something I don’t regret watching. (I’ll read the manga, too.)

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: Yeah, this was totally my favorite of the fall and winter seasons. :D It was cute and wholesome, with really cute characters, and did I mention it was cute? Yeah, it was cute. Looking forward to season 2, and in the meantime I’m keeping up with the manga. :D

So yeah, that was the 2020 winter anime season. It wasn’t anything to write home about, but at least it was better then any season in 2019! I really hope spring will be better...
