somebody somewhere shared my fic I've got this burning desire to set you on fire recently and the kudos on it jumped so fast!! so I wrote part two as a treat!! thanks to whoever that was lmao
this can be read as a standalone or as a companion ficlet to the original fic linked above!
Steve’s students sit with rapt attention under the dimmed lights and Eddie’s theatrical storytelling. While Eddie sits in Steve’s desk chair, his arms gesticulate wildly with a flair like no other. Steve props against the arm of his chair and drags his hand softly up and down Eddie’s back while he lets himself fall into the memory.
Last October
Corroded Coffin’s show at The Venue at Fourth and West is the biggest they’ve played yet.
Seven thousand people and Steve and Robin, as always, take their rightful place on the front and center barricade.
Eddie’s on stage, adrenaline pumping and energy high as they play through their last song before the encore.
From his vantage point he’s got a perfect view of Steve singing his heart out and dancing with Robin, wearing a smile so bright it puts the spotlights to shame.
If Eddie’s heart wasn’t already pounding at the sight it would be as he holds out the last chord of the final song on their set.
As the noise in the room swells with the crowd’s cheers and applause, the lights dim and Eddie sees the other three guys slip off stage.
Steeling himself with a deep breath, Eddie meets the stagehand to his left and switches his Warlock for an acoustic.
Where he stood centerstage previously, there now sits a stool and a mic stand. He makes himself comfortable, sat far back with one foot anchored to the ground and the other braced on the stool’s cross-rod.
A single spotlight beams down directly on him as he leans over to speak into his mic.
“Alright, alright. I’ve got one last song for you today and it’s pretty special. Now I’m saying this once and I don’t want to hear shit about it again, got it? I do not care if you do not like this song because it's not for any of you motherfuckers!”
Laughter ripples through the crowd and a few people in the audience yell back.
Eddie scans his eyes across the crowd and they land on his boy once more. He can only imagine his smile mirrors the one he sees on Steve’s face.
“Hey baby,” he starts and lets out a breathy laugh when Steve rolls his eyes and hides his face in his hands. “Don’t hide sunshine, I’ve got a song for you.” He snaps and waves at the security guards and waves them Steve’s way. “Come on up Stevie, you know the drill.”
Know the drill he does. While Steve hops the barricade and is led to the stage, Eddie addresses the crowd once more.
“Like I said, this song is not for any of you so I do not want to hear shit from any of you, okay?” He sets to loosening the strap on his guitar when Steve makes it to center stage with him.
Just out of earshot of the mic Steve props his hands on his hips and grins. Asks, “Okay, what’re we doing this time?”
Eddie smirks and holds his guitar out to his right and pats the front of the stool for Steve to sit.
Steve snorts as he makes his way over. “If you think my ass is going to fit there you’ve got another thing coming.”
Eddie barks out a laugh and shifts further onto his stool as Steve sits, his back pressed tight to Eddie’s chest. He smacks a kiss to Steve’s cheek and waggles his eyebrows.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time!”
He swings his guitar back over his own shoulder and across Steve’s chest, hooks his chin over his shoulder and adjusts his grip.
Steve giggles down at the action and his eyebrows shoot up to his hairline.
“How many times did you make Gareth practice this with you?” He laughs.
“Too fucking many!” Gareth yells from his place in the wings.
Eddie shushes them both and kicks his mic stand a little closer as he starts to strum. He leans in close to Steve’s ear and whispers “Love you Stevie,” before he starts humming into the mic.
Realistically he knows he has approximately seven seconds before Steve catches on. He savors the brief moments where Steve just smiles and sways along.
At second six the recognition flutters across his features and he snaps his head towards Eddie.
“Is this fucking Taylor Swift?”
Eddie laughs and says “Eddie’s Version.”.
Steve laughs and rubs a hand down his face. Eddie hears a muffled “Oh my god” just before he begins to sing.
Hey Stephen, I know looks can be deceiving
But I know I saw a light in you
And as we walked we would talk
And I didn't say half the things I wanted to
Robin, god love her, Eddie sees has taken her role in this whole shenanigan very seriously. Having rounded up every photographer and videographer right up in front of center stage. Her own smile is barely contained where she covers her mouth with her hands.
Of all the guys tossing rocks at your window
I'll be the one waiting there even when it's cold
Hey Stephen, boy, you might have me believing
I don't always have to be alone
Just before he makes it to the chorus Steve’s laughter has calmed down and he’s left with a pleased smile as he sways to the music braced against Eddie’s chest.
Cause I can't help it if you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself
He swings his guitar up and over Steve’s head and tugs him back onto the stool as he steps off. Steve looks at him with a confused smile but he doesn't go too far. He props a foot up on the cross-rod and leans in close when he starts again.
Hey Stephen, I've been holding back this feeling
So I've got some things to say to you
I've seen it all, so I thought
But I never seen nobody shine the way you do
He spins around with a flourish and props on Steve’s other side and flutters his eyelashes to make Steve laugh again.
The way you walk, way you talk, way you say my name
It's beautiful, wonderful, don't you ever change
Hey Stephen, why are people always leaving?
I think you and I should stay the same
Before the second chorus he breaks out of his Steve induced trance and looks back to the crowd and laughs when he’s met with a sea of flashlight beams swaying back and forth. When he looks back at his boy he finds him giggling with a look of awe on his face.
'Cause I can't help it if you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself
He leans in close and says “Alright we’re gonna switch it up here Stevie, you ready?”
Steve smiles as bright as the sun. “For anything.”
Eddie takes his guitar off and hands it off to someone, he doesn’t know who to be honest. Doesn’t really care.
Gareth and Jeff take up playing the song while Eddie takes the mic off its stand.
They're dimming the stage lights
You're perfect for me
Why aren't you here tonight?
I'm waiting alone now
So come on and come out
And pull me near
And shine, shine, shine
The boys keep playing as Eddie’s heart threatens to beat out of his chest. He looks at Steve one more time, sees him smiling and happy.
He reaches a hand into his back pocket and feels the box he’d snuck in when he switched guitars.
Takes a deep breath and drops down to one knee.
If he could hear over the blood in his ears he’d hear the crowd go crazy and the incessant sound of camera shutters.
But as it is he swears he can hear Steve’s sharp intake of breath when he realizes what’s happening.
Hey Stephen, I could give you fifty reasons
Why I should be the one you choose
All those other girls, well, they're beautiful
But would they sing this song for you?
Steve’s got his hand covering his mouth and tears in his eyes and he’s nodding. He’s nodding even though Eddie hasn’t asked yet and he loves Steve so much.
I can't help it if you look like an angel
Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmm, I can't help myself
He doesn’t even get to finish the rest of the lyrics because Steve is up and off the stool and has both hands pressed to his cheeks dragging him into a fierce kiss before he can even think.
Eddie’s smiling and laughing so much that it's all teeth. But he’s so happy it's all teeth, it's all love, it's all Steve.
His arms are around Steve’s waist and the mic is somewhere, he doesn’t know or care.
“Stevie, baby. Baby I haven’t asked,” he laughs onto Steve’s lips.
Steve wraps his arms around his neck and buries his face in his shoulder.
“Yes. A hundred times yes. Don’t care. Yes!”
Eddie pulls Steve to face him with two hands on either side of his face, one still holding the box.
“Stevie, will you marry me?”
Steve's laugh resembles a sob but he’s smiling and nodding again and Eddie’s never been happier.
“Yes.”
~~~~~
“You proposed with a Taylor Swift song?!” The curly-headed kid in the front row screeches.
Eddie uses his context clues to assume this is Dustin.
Steve pipes up from his spot beside him. “He used to sing me that song when we were dating and it always made me laugh. I especially liked it when he would sing it in a Metallica shirt.”
Several of the other kids snort.
The door swings open in a flourish and Robin comes barreling in.
“Dude, are you holding your kids hostage? What’s goin– Oh hey Eds!” She waves.
“Hey Birdie.”
Steve looks at his watch and swears under his breath. “Alright guys, who’s going to Miss Buckley’s class next? Get out of here. I’ll sort the rest of you out.”
Eddie waves him off. “Don’t worry about it Stevie. I told Ms. Loretta in the office to let Nance and Jon know they’d be late to next period.”
Steve scoffs in shock. “Loretta likes you too much. I don’t know how you got in her good graces. Why would you do that though?”
“Well I thought your kiddos,” he gives the students a pointed glance,” would have figured me out by now and I wanted to bug them about their super cool, hot teacher.”
Steve claps his hands together in exasperation. “Okay, that’s enough. Everybody out!”
Students zip up their bags and filter out of the room and Robin knocks them on the back of the head as they walk out the door.
Steve shoves at Eddie’s shoulders. “You too! Go talk to Ms. Loretta, I have assignments to grade!”
Eddie laughs and ambles towards the door. He stops in the door frame and looks back at Steve who has his hands on his hips behind his desk. He wolf whistles and smiles back at him.
“See you at home big boy,” he winks.
“Out!”
You wish to what?
As Y/n stepped out of the luxurious carriage, her heart thumped wildly against her ribcage. The air was thick with anticipation and the scent of lavender, as if the entire world was holding its breath, waiting for something truly extraordinary to happen. She took a deep breath, adjusting the lace at her cuffs, and gazed around at the grand ballroom in awe. Crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow over the expansive dance floor, while a live orchestra played a waltz so enchanting it felt as though the music itself were pulling her towards the center of the room.
Her eyes darted across the crowd, searching for Mattheo Riddle amongst the sea of tuxedos and ball gowns. She had heard rumors that he would be attending tonight's event, and her heart fluttered at the thought of meeting him. As if summoned by her very thoughts, a familiar-looking figure caught her eye from across the room. His posture was tall and confident, his black hair slicked back, and his eyes locked on hers. It was him. Her heart skipped a beat as he began to make his way through the crowd, gracefully weaving his way towards her.
With each step, she felt more and more self-conscious about her dress. It was a deep crimson color, expertly crafted from the finest silk and adorned with intricate golden embroidery. She had spent hours practicing her dance moves with her dance partner, ensuring that she would make a lasting impression on Mattheo. As he finally reached her side, he bowed his head slightly, his lips curling into a playful smile. "You look lovely this evening." His voice was smooth as silk, sending shivers down her spine.
Taking her hand in his, he led her out onto the dance floor. The cool marble felt foreign beneath her feet, but his strong, reassuring grip made her feel as though she could conquer the world. They moved together effortlessly, their bodies swaying to the music, and she found herself lost in the moment, forgetting about everything else around them. "So," he said, his voice low and conspiratorial, "how do you feel about being the center of attention tonight?" She glanced up at him, feeling her cheeks flush, and tried to sound nonchalant. "I guess it's just another day in the life of a debutante." He chuckled, and the sound sent a warmth spreading through her. "Ah, but you underestimate your own charm, my dear."
The waltz came to an end, and they stepped off the dance floor, the crowd parting before them like the Red Sea. Y/n found herself wishing that the moment could last forever, but she knew that it was only a matter of time before they were interrupted. Sure enough, a servant appeared, a silver tray held out before him. "Lord Riddle," he said, his voice trembling slightly, "you have a note." Mattheo took it from the servant, his expression turning serious. "Thank you," he said, before excusing himself from her side.
So Y/n was left to dance with other but her figure had caught another's eye. A handsome young man with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He smiled at her as they danced, asking her name and where she was from. She felt a blush rise to her cheeks as she told him her story, feeling more comfortable with him than she had with Mattheo. They danced for what seemed like hours, losing track of time and the world around them. Suddenly, the music stopped and the crowd erupted into applause. She turned to thank her dance partner, only to see that it was not the young man with blue eyes, but Mattheo who had been watching them the entire time. His expression was a mix of annoyance and jealousy, and she couldn't help but feel a small thrill of victory.
She watched as Mattheo approached her, his features set in a stern expression. "Fancy meeting you here," he said through gritted teeth. "I had no idea you were such a popular girl." She forced a light laugh, feeling a little guilty for making him jealous. "Oh, Mattheo, you know I've always had a soft spot for you." He studied her face for a moment before leaning in close, his voice low and intense. "Do you now?"
He pulled her closer, their bodies pressed against each other, and Y/n felt a shiver run down her spine. She knew that she should push him away, but something about the way he made her feel…she couldn't resist. As they danced, he whispered words in her ear that made her heart race and her cheeks flush. The music swirled around them, becoming a haze of desire and longing, and she found herself lost in his eyes, lost in the moment, lost in him.
The music came to an end, and they stepped apart, breathless. For a moment, they simply stared at each other, the air between them electric. Then, without another word, he leaned forward and kissed her. His lips were soft and demanding, and she melted into him, returning his kiss with equal fervor. Their embrace grew more intense, their bodies moving together as one, as they lost themselves in the heat of the moment.
Around them, the ballroom faded away, and all that mattered was the two of them, their connection, their desire. Time seemed to stand still as they danced, their bodies entwined, their hearts and souls laid bare for each other. It was as though they were the only two people in the world, and nothing else mattered.
When at last they parted, gasping for air, Y/n looked into Mattheo's eyes and knew that she had finally found something she had been searching for her entire life. As he held her close, she felt a contentment and a sense of belonging that she had never experienced before, and she knew without a doubt that she wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with him.
(I got lazy change of pov)
I bowed after their last dance, "It is getting late my lord, I should turn in for the night" I say giving a quick glance to my brother that came to the ball with me. He nodded in understanding, knowing that I had promised to dance with Mattheo one last time. As I made my way towards my chamber, I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of loss. It was as if a part of me was leaving with each step I took away from Mattheo.
My heart raced as I thought about our dance, his eyes, the way he held me. I knew that I had to be careful, that our relationship could never be more than what it was now. But for just a moment, in that dimly lit ballroom, it had seemed like anything was possible.
Climbing into my bed, I sighed deeply, trying to push away the thoughts of him from my mind. Tomorrow would be another day, another chance to see him again. Perhaps, if I was lucky, we could find a moment alone and continue where we left off.
As the sun rose the next morning, I carefully dressed myself, making sure that my hair was perfectly in place and my jewelry was all in order. Today would be another day of courtship, another day of pretending to be interested in the men that were vying for my hand. But deep down, I knew that my heart belonged to only one person.
As I made my way through the halls, I spotted Mattheo across the room, speaking with my father. His back was to me, but I could feel his eyes on me nonetheless. It was as if he were saying, "I saw you looking." And for some reason, that thought sent a shiver down my spine.
Finally, my father excused me, saying that I had duties to attend to. I nodded, curtsying deeply before turning to leave. But as I did, I felt a hand on my shoulder, stopping me in my tracks. It was Mattheo. "My lord, you are quiet close," I glance down at the hand on my shoulder. "My father has excused me, I must be on my way." I say softly.
He smiles down at me, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "I know. But I couldn't help but want to speak with you for a moment." His hand slides from my shoulder to my arm, his touch sending a shiver down my spine. "I hope you don't mind."
I swallow hard, trying to find my voice. "Of course not, my lord. What is it that you wished to say?"
He leans in closer, so close that I can feel the warmth of his breath against my cheek. "I've been thinking about our dance last night," he whispers. "And I wanted to ask you something."
My heart pounds in anticipation as he pauses, seemingly lost in thought. "What is it?" I breathe.
His smile grows wider. "Will you give me the honor of dancing with me again tonight?"
I blush deeply, unable to believe what he is asking. In this crowded court, with everyone watching, he wants to dance with me again? "Of course, my lord. I would be honored."
He squeezes my arm gently before letting go, stepping back with a courtly bow. "Excellent. I will look forward to it." Then, with a wink, he turns and walks away, leaving me feeling breathless and more in love with him than ever before.
The rest of the day passes in a blur, as if time itself has sped up to match the pace of my heart. Every moment feels like an eternity, and every second with Mattheo feels like a gift. When the evening finally arrives, I can barely contain my excitement as I prepare for our dance. I spend hours agonizing over what to wear, finally settling on a deep red gown that accentuates my figure and brings out the color of my eyes.
I find myself sitting with a group of girls that are gossiping about the latest proposals for the girls of the season, with a glass of champagne in my hand. I try to ignore them, my eyes constantly darting around the room, searching for Mattheo. Finally, I spot him across the room, deep in conversation with my father. My heart skips a beat as I take in his handsome features, the way his dark hair falls over his forehead, the way his green eyes sparkle when he laughs.
As if sensing my gaze, Mattheo looks up and meets my eyes. A slow smile spreads across his face, and it feels like my entire body is warm and tingly. He excuses himself from my father and makes his way through the crowd, his movements graceful and confident. He takes my hand in his, his touch sending a jolt of electricity up my arm, and leads me out to the dance floor.
The music begins, a waltz, and Mattheo expertly spins me into his arms. I close my eyes, savoring the feel of him against me, the smell of his cologne, the sound of his heartbeat. As we dance, he whispers sweet words into my ear, promises of a future together, a future where we are free to love each other openly and without judgment.
When the music comes to an end, we stand there, still holding hands, our breathing labored. I'm not sure if it's the wine or just the sheer intensity of my feelings, but I feel like I could float away on the high I get when I'm with him. He leans in close, his lips brushing against my ear. "Will you meet me outside, my love?" he whispers.
My heart skips a beat at the words, my breath catching in my throat. "Yes," I manage to reply, my voice barely audible even to my own ears. "Yes, I will."
He squeezes my hand gently before letting go, stepping back with a courtly bow. I watch him leave the ballroom, feeling a mix of exhilaration and fear churning in my stomach. But I know that whatever happens, I will follow him, because in this world where everything else is a lie, he is the only truth I've ever known.
I slip out of the ballroom unnoticed, my heart pounding against my ribs. The cool night air hits me like a slap, making me gasp for breath. There, standing near a large oak tree at the edge of the garden, is Mattheo. He turns at the sound of my approach, his face illuminated by the moonlight. His features are soft, his expression one of longing.
We laugh and chat on our stroll through the garden, "Do you know my Lord that they are ladies from the Patil family who wish to marry you." I grin up at him, "I find it rather interesting when the lady's talk at tea time" I chuckle, "How they are seemingly infatuated with you" I give a fake swoon.
"They should be careful, I might be swayed by such attention," he teases, his eyes sparkling in the moonlight. "You know, I think you would make a wonderful duchess, love. You have a way of commanding a room, yet making everyone feel so welcome." He takes my hand in his, lacing our fingers together.
"Be careful what you say my Lord, you are not Duke yet, if someone overheard it would sound like you're planning something for your father." I giggle, feeling the warmth in my cheeks.
He stops walking, pulling me close until I am flush against his body. His hand cups my cheek, his thumb brushing across my lower lip. "You are right, of course. I apologize. I should not speak of such things so lightly." His voice is husky, full of desire. "But it does not change the fact that I want nothing more than to make you my wife, my duchess. You are the sunlight to my moonlight, the reason I breathe."
He leans in, his lips brushing against mine. I feel a shiver run down my spine as I melt into him. Our kiss deepens, his hand sliding into my hair, his fingers tangling in the curls. He pulls me even closer, pressing his body against mine, and I can feel the hardness of him through his clothes.
The sound of crickets fills the air around us, their chirping mingling with our ragged breathing. I can feel the tension building between us, a tangible electricity that threatens to consume us both.
Finally, he breaks the kiss, his eyes searching mine. "I want you. I want you so badly." His words are spoken in a rough whisper, barely audible above the sound of our hearts pounding in our chests. "Will you give yourself to me?"
"Y-you want me to give you my what?" I stumbled, not sure what to say.
"Your virginity," he clarified, his voice soft. "But not just that. I want your trust, your heart, your soul. I want to be the one who takes you to your first ball, who kisses you under the mistletoe, who holds your hand through the birth of our children. I want to be your everything, Isabeau. I want to be your life."
I swallowed hard, my heart racing. I could feel the desire burning in my veins, the ache between my legs. He wanted me, truly wanted me, and the thought was both terrifying and exhilarating. "Well, you are one with quite beautiful words" I sigh, "and I want that, I want you to be everything to me too" I say softly.
He smiles, his expression gentle. "Then it's settled. I will be the one who shows you the world, who holds you when you cry, who kisses you when you're angry. I'll be your protector, your friend, your lover. I'll be your everything."
He leans in, his lips brushing against mine, and I feel myself melt into him once again. His hand slips down to the small of my back, pulling me even closer. I tap his arm pulling away, "My father has arranged a proposal to a Duke from the Brown family" I say, my voice shaky with nerves. "I need you to help me convince him that I should marry you, not this stranger."
He smiles, his eyes sparkling with determination. "Of course, my love. We'll find a way. Together." He pauses, his expression turning serious.
"But I want you to know that I will always honor your wishes. If you choose not to marry me, or if you wish to marry someone else, I will step aside and give you my blessing. You are free to make your own decisions."
"I would never think such a thing" I tell him honestly. "You are the only one who has ever made me feel this way, this alive" I admit, a blush creeping up my neck. "And I want to be with you, but I need my father to see it too. I need him to understand that you are the one for me, the one who will make me happy."
He smiles, his fingers tracing circles on my bare lower back. "I'm glad to hear that. But don't worry, my love. We'll find a way. We'll make your father understand." He pauses, his expression turning serious. "In the meantime, let's enjoy this time we have together. Let's make memories that will last a lifetime."
He leans in, his lips brushing against mine, and I feel myself melting into him again. His hand slides up my back, cupping my shoulder, before moving down to my hip, pulling me even closer. His other arm wraps around me, pressing me against his hard chest. I can feel the heat emanating from his body, the desire burning in his eyes.
We stay like this for what feels like an eternity, lost in each other, lost in the moment. The world around us fades away, leaving only the two of us, tangled in each other's arms, our hearts beating in unison.
Finally, he pulls back, his eyes searching mine. "I love you," he whispers. "With every fiber of my being."
I gaze into his eyes, feeling the truth of his words wash over me. "I love you too, Mattheo." I breathe, my voice barely audible above the sound of our hearts pounding in unison.
S/I Part 1
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8
Audience: *weakly applauding when Buggy enters the ring*
Me: *clapping wildly* *continues clapping and whoo-ing even after Mohji puts the "applause" sign down*
Buggy: ok who's the goddamn CHUCKLEFUCK that is MOCKING ME RIGHT NOW?! HUH??!
Me, yelling from the crowd: ME! I MEAN -- I'M NOT MOCKING -- I SWEAR -- I'M JUST A REALLY BIG FAN!
Buggy: Well! Finally, someone who understands their place! CABAJI! BRING THEM HERE
Cabaji: *does*
Buggy: What's your name, pal?
Me: *speechlessly grinning* *can't talk rn* *too overwhelmed*
Buggy: You're taking up precious time, kid, just tell me your name so we can get on with the show
Me: 😀
Buggy: Great thanks GIVE IT UP FOR THE ONLY ONE HERE WITH AN OUNCE OF TASTE!
Audience: *applauds stiltedly*
Buggy: *turns me around, detaches hands and pushes me back to my seat* *reattaches hands and wipes them on his shirt* Alright... anyway... ... ...Goddamnit I'M THROWN OFF, NOW! DO-OVER! PLACES, EVERYONE! FUCK!
——
Later
Buggy: You've been great, folks! Truly a CAPTIVE... audience! Hahahaha! See you again tomorrow! Buh-bye now! *Turns to leave the ring, sees me waving frantically and sighs* WHAT?
Me: Buggy-- Sir-- Captain-- can I have your autograph??
Buggy: Heh. Sure, sure. *he pulls out his wanted poster, signs it, then hands it to me* Anything else I can do ya for, kid?
Me: 😀
Buggy: You have a problem. *turns to leave*
Me: LET ME JOIN YOUR CREW!
Buggy: *slowly turns back around* Ha?
Me: 🫡 I swear my allegiance to the Buggy Pirates!!! 🫡
Buggy: HA?!
Me: Please!! 🙏 My captain!! 🙇
Buggy: *stunned* *crosses arms, grins and shakes his head* You've got spunk! But. It takes more than spunk to join MY crew. MOHJI!
Mohji: Captain!
Buggy: Take this one to the ship.
Mohji: *unfastens chains and pulls me along with him*
Buggy: We'll talk later, peanut gallery. Enjoy the brig! Bye-eeee!
——
Mohji: To be honest *walking me along*
Me: Yeah?
Mohji: We don't really have a brig. It's more Ritchie's room since he can be pretty destructive when I'm away. *continues walking me toward the ship*
Me: Well where are you taking me then?
Mohji: Captain's quarters.
Me: SO DIRECT--
Mohji: What?
Me: Isn't that... Buggy's... boudoir?
Mohji: Uh... yes?
Me: EEEHEHEHEHE
Mohji: He's going to regret this so much
——
45 minutes of being chained to a chair in Buggy's Boudoir later
Me: *at the end of the chain, trying to snoop in everything I can*
Buggy: *opens door, sees me, jumps back and shrieks, having completely forgotten me*
Me: CAPTAIN 🙇
Buggy: STOP THAT!
Me: SIR 🫡
Buggy: You're not a part of my crew!
Me: Yet!
Buggy: *sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose* Alright, babe. What can you offer me?
Me: 😳 I can offer so much
Buggy: Why are you drooling
——
Buggy: *snaps his fingers in my face* Hey, wakey-wakey. Answer the question. What can you offer?
Me: I, um… *frantically searching for a talent* I can… draw?
Buggy: *not impressed*
Me: Oh! I could be a caricature artist for your audience!!
Buggy: *strokes his chin with a detached hand* Hm… I guess I could see how that would be useful…
Me: Yeah, you could advertise it and lure people in! Then you wouldn’t have to force anybody to—
Buggy: “FORCE”? You think people are FORCED to see my show?!
Me: Um. Well you kidnapped everybody, so. Yes?
Buggy: They like it so it doesn’t count.
Me: That’s problematic but I’ll pretend I didn’t hear it
——
Buggy: You better be able to prove that you can draw, peanut gallery, or else.
Me: *curiously* Or else… what?
Buggy: *hadn’t thought that far* You’ll… walk the plank!
Me: Right next to the dock? I could just get out of the water.
Buggy: Well obviously, I’d take you out to sea and THEN you’ll walk the plank where there’s no hope of survival!
Me: You’d be willing to put up with me for that long?? That’s so sweet :)
Buggy: Just— shut up! Show me you can draw! *shoves a paper and pen at me*
Me: Okay, fine. Jeez. *looks around for a surface*
Buggy: *sighs, turns around so I can draw on his back, but he flips his head backwards so he can see the paper as I draw*
Me: *ignoring how creepy that looks* *quickly sketches Buggy but in a caricature style, so his features are greatly exaggerated… especially his nose*
Buggy: Excuse me. What. Is this supposed to be. *he jabs his detached finger at the nose, which looks like a kickball glued to his face*
Me: A drawing of you
Buggy: DON’T PLAY STUPID!! *he turns his head back around, grabs the drawing and rips it to shreds, then stomps on it and digs his heel into the paper* *heaving breaths as he calms down* You’re lucky you’re cute. One more chance and that’s it. *presents a new paper, turns around again*
Me: *blushing a bit at his comment* *draws him again, this time with more realistically-sized features* What do you think?
Buggy: Hm. *he studies the paper and smiles a bit despite his recent outburst* *he frowns again, acting as though he isn’t actually as happy with it as he is* That’ll do. Welcome aboard, Resident Ar-teest!” *he claps me on the back, unchains me from the floor, then pins up the drawing of himself next to his mirror*
Me: YES!! WOO-HOO! Thank you thank you thank you!!! *I hug him tight, squeeze him and then let go to run around the room whooping*
Buggy: *blushes but covers up his emotions by looking angry about it* *releases anger and chuckles to himself at me* *laughs louder* That’s right! I’m the best in the East Blue! The rest of the crew could learn from your hootin’ and hollerin’!! *laughs triumphantly* *grabs my arm and tugs me toward the door, which he kicks open* ALRIGHT, MEN! MEET OUR NEWEST MEMBER… … *he falters, realizing he doesn’t know my frickin’ name*
The crew: *awkwardly watch him struggle* *a bird caws in the distance*
Me: *whispers to him*
Buggy: MO! I knew that. I was just waiting for a drumroll which NO ONE PROVIDED! *glares at crew*
Someone in the back: *starts a drumroll*
Buggy: IT’S TOO LATE NOW, DIPSHIT! *mutters to himself then turns to me* Mo, talk to Cabaji, he’ll set you up with a bed and whatever else. *he goes back to his room but stops and mentions this with a bit of embarrassment,* thanks for the drawing. *shuts the door*
——
Me: *lays down in the hammock Cabaji led me to and swings from side to side giddily* This is so awesome… I can’t believe I’m actually part of the Buggy Pirates! I’m in the Big Top RIGHT NOW! *rotates in the hammock like a high-speed rotisserie chicken* EEEE!! *stops* Wait. Something isn’t right…
Pirate failing to nap nearby: Is it that you’re talking to yourself when people are trying to sleep?!
Me: No *springs out of hammock and out the door* *runs to Buggy’s quarters and knocks like mad*
Buggy: *wrenches open the door, pissed* *gets knocked on the nose multiple times* *swats my fist away* OW! FUCK! WHAT IS IT *winces as he pats his nose, checking for blood (there isn’t any)*
Me: Ah, my bad!
Buggy: DON’T “MY BAD”—! Ugh… how does it look?
Me: It’s pretty red
Buggy: *sputters with rage at himself for walking right into that one* Just—Just—!! What do you need?!
Me: *suddenly very serious* I realized… I don’t have a clown motif.
Buggy: *straightens and looks distraught* You’re right. *grabs my shoulders* We need to fix that immediately. BOBO!
Bobo, the ship’s tailor: Oui?
Buggy: Get Mo something to wear! Quick!
Bobo: Oui! *hauls me away to his nook of the ship, which is filled with fabrics and notions of all sorts* *he gets my measurements in seconds, holds up various fabrics to my skin, finds a color he likes, and starts to drape on his dress form*
Me: *stunned as I watch him, in mere moments, whip up a bright teal jacket with jester horns on the hood*
Bobo: *puts the jacket on me and has me turn around for him* *he snips off a loose thread and nods* Oui.
Me: Holy shit! Wow! Thank you!!
Bobo: *beams*
Buggy: *saunters over* That’s Bobo for ya!
Me in Buggy’s eyes: *turns around in slow-motion, jester horns on the hood swaying a bit as I face him, I smile wide when I see him and my cheeks blush in his presence*
Buggy: *blushes too* Whoa.. *glances away nervously* Y-You look… Really good
Me: *reddens even more* Thanks…
Buggy: *clears throat* Yes, “thanks”… to Bobo! Thanks to Bobo you look good! Heh. Anywho. All set, now. So. *yells to the rest of the ship* LET’S CELEBRATE OUR FLASHY NEW CREWMATE! WHO WANTS BOOZE?!
Crew: *CHEERS RAUCOUSLY*
Buggy: *to me* C’mon. I’ll get us the good stuff. *grin and heads toward the ship’s store room*
Me: *chuckles and follows him down, looking forward to a fun night*
——
In the ship’s stores
Buggy: *grabs a few bottles and hands them to me* Here, this swill is for the crew. And this… *he opens a trap door and pulls out a fancy bottle of tequila* This is for us. *wiggles the bottle with a smirk*
Me: *sparkle eyes* Aaah I feel so special~ Captain Buggy~
Buggy: St-Stop being weird, don’t make me regret this!
Me: *shuts eyes but the light from the sparkles still shines through my eyelids*
Buggy: The fuck—
——
We go back up the stairs and Buggy has me hand out the bottles to a very joyful crew. I finish chatting with some of the crewmates and come back to Buggy, who has set up a couple of shot glasses for us.
Me: Alrighty, can’t wait to try this tequila! *reaches for a shot glass but Buggy snatches it away from me* Hey!
Buggy: Let’s play a game. *he has a glint of mischief in his eyes*
Me: …Were you planning this?
Buggy: *scoffs* No! *releases the shot glass and places it in front of me* “Answer or drink.”
Me: Answer what?
Buggy: That’s the name of the game. I ask a question, and you either answer it truthfully or you take a shot. And vice versa.
Me: Hm… Okay! You go first.
Buggy: Heh. Let’s start easy. How did you learn about me and my crew?
Me: *drinks*
Buggy: Wh—Yo— You can’t even answer that?!
Me: I just wanted to drink.
Buggy: THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!
Me: I know. My turn!
Buggy: *grumbles* Fine!
Me: What’s your favorite circus feat to perform? *assuming he’s proficient in all of them*
Buggy: *can’t even juggle* Uh… *drinks*
Me: This is gonna be a short game.
Buggy: Are you leaving behind any family, joining my crew?
Me: Nope. I was on my own.
Buggy: No friends?
Me: Hey, it’s not your turn! Um… is this your hair? *pulls the long blue stuff coming out of his hat*
Buggy: OW! Yes! *lifts his hat to rub his pained scalp*
Me: Wow, it’s so long… *strokes it* And soft! Are these little braids? Aww…
Buggy: *stuffs hair into his hat grumpily, blushing* Shut up! Hmph. Why don’t you have friends?
Me: …
Buggy: *realizes he’s struck a nerve as I take a shot*
Me: *more serious* Why are you so curious about me?
Buggy: …
Me: *looks at him curiously as he takes a shot, avoiding my stare*
——
About three hours later
Buggy: Mmkay, it’sh my turn ag’in…
Me: Mhmm
Buggy: And thish time, you better not *hic* drink
Me: Yeh ho’kay
Buggy: *slaps table* Wouldjoo… ever… *hic* Hm.
Buggy: C’n yew… hwhat
Me: *leans closer* Kin… I… ‘m…
Buggy: *blushing as I glance at his mouth*
Me: *falls forward* Zzz
Buggy: HA?! *barely manages to catch me* *he tries to prop me back up but I just fall forward toward the table* *catches me again and gently lays my head down on the table* *sighs* *looks around the ship* *the rest of the crew is in the same state as me, all laying around and snoring* Heh… C’mon. *he manages to stand, and he pulls me off my seat* Oof— he’vier th’n I thought. *struggles and ends up dragging me to the room where my hammock is*
Me: Zzz
Buggy: *heaves me onto the hammock, which swings in an arc and plops me face-down on the floor* H’oh shit—
Me: *muffled snoring*
Buggy: *lifts me up again and is too scared to try putting me back in the hammock* M’kay, ah… *he sighs and drags me back out of the room, fumbles with the knob to his quarters, and pulls me inside, plopping me on his bed like a sack of potatoes*
Me: *smiles in my sleep and nuzzles into his pillow* Buggie…
Buggy: *blushes wildly, falls backward and scurries out of the room* *fumbles for the knob, opens the door and darts out, shutting it quietly* *exhales* G’night, Mo.
——
The next morning
Me: *stirs* Hm… Wha? *notices I’m in a nice fluffy bed* Huh?? *sits up and glances around* *face drops and I blush when I realize I’m in Buggy’s room* *leaps out of bed in a karate position, not sure what to expect next* *relaxes pose when I realize I’m alone* How did I end up in here…
Buggy, who slept outside the door: *is awoken by getting stepped on the face by Bobo* GAH *punches him in the nuts on reflex*
Bobo: HORK *doubles over and trembles* Je suis désolé, C-captain
Buggy: *stands up quickly, has footprint on his face* SORRY AIN’T GONNA— oof… *sits back down and grips head, hangover taking over*
Me: *slams open door, which pins Buggy between the door and the wall right on his head*
Buggy: GH—HRGLE—
Me: Oh no!! *closes door and rushes to his side* Are you okay?!
Buggy: *tears in his eyes, footprint on his face, cheeks red from being smacked, nose throbbing, missing a tooth* Yeah I’m good
Me: Whew
Buggy: I’M OBVIOUSLY NOT GOOD
Me: Oh!
Buggy: *turned away* So oblivious…
——
Ten minutes later, we’ve gotten up and have started drinking coffee, which Buggy demanded Bobo to make simply because he was nearby. We both sip our coffees and sigh happily.
Me: So…
Buggy: *serenely enjoying his coffee* Hm?
Me: Did you take me to bed last night?
Buggy: *chokes* NO! Well… Yes? B-but not like THAT! *blushing, tries to focus on coffee, slurping it awkwardly*
Me: Hahaha! Why are you so flustered??
Buggy: I’M NOT— *red as a beet* *grumbles*
Me: *grinning, pats his back* I’m just messing with you! I know you’re too shy to try anything.
Buggy: SHY?! I’m not shy!! I could do… stuff!
Me: *teasing* Oh yeah? Like what?
Buggy: *mouth is a thin line as he tries to talk but can’t. He just gets redder, grunts and turns back to his coffee*
Me: HAHAHA
Buggy: Tch… *leans away with his chin in his hand, trying to hide his smile*
The U.S.O Girl, Steve Rogers
Word Count:  1.7k
Warnings:  none really
Tumblr media
“And Germany will think twice about trying to get the drop on us!”
“CAPTAIN AMERICA!” a child wailed as the faux Hitler burst through the line of girls, pushing past you and another girl to get to him.  But Steve whipped around and gave a screen punch towards the actor, causing him to fall down.
The crowd roared to life, children and adults alike clapping for the great, fearless Captain America. But Steve didn’t care about the applause.  No, his eyes were held firmly onto yours.  A blush rose to your cheeks as you held your pose in line with all of the other women.  You felt like he could see straight through the confident façade you held, all the way to the shy, nervous Manhattan girl you really were.
“Gloria,” one of the girls giggled, lightly nudging you.  You could see Steve blushing beneath the mask as he turned around to thank all of the people who had shown up.  The music started up again and all of you began marching off the stage and towards your dressing room.  You didn’t make it much further when you felt Mildred and Agnes nudging you, “he was looking at you again.”
“Oh hush,” you laughed, trying to ignore what your friends were saying, “Captain Rogers was not looking at me.  He was staring behind us…you know, pausing for dramatic effect.”
“Sure!”
“Is that why he put you in the center and had Doris moved down the line?”
“He’ll get sick of her soon enough,” Doris huffed as she fixed her dress, “he changes up his eye candy every few weeks.”
“You’re just jealous because Captain Rogers wants to look at her, and not you!”
“Girls, girls…calm down,” you said quickly, trying to cut down on the possibility of an argument breaking out, “Mr. Neiman told you and Hattie you were both being shifted down because of the starting formation changing.  With Janet falling pregnant after the first few shows it messed everything up.  Especially since they were talking about adding more girls.  I don’t see what all the fuss is about anyways.  I get shoved out of the way every show by fake Hitler!  Do you really want that back, Doris?  Because I’ll give it up!  Just say the word.  I’ll talk to Mr. Neiman is right now!”
“You should,” she huffed, “It’s only right!”
Part of you was grateful that she responded that way.  It would certainly make things easier now that she’d asked that of you.
“Fine!” you shrugged, standing up from your chair, “I’ll go tell them right now.  Does anyone know where Mr. Neiman is?”
You turned to find a stage assistant, and they led you down a series of hallways that twisted and turned so much you nearly felt dizzy.  By the time you were stopped, you ended up in a large, well-decorated room.
“Excuse me, I-“
But the stagehand closed the door on you, leaving you there, all by your lonesome.  You sighed but sat down on the couch to wait.  Not even a few minutes later did the door open, and you stood.  But you hadn’t expected the man who opened it.
You gasped, “Captain Rogers!”
He smiled and stepped into the room, being sure to drop the mask onto the coffee table beside you, “well this is definitely a surprise…hey doll.”
“Steve, wait!” you all but whimpered, holding the super soldier at bay with your arms, “not here.”
Steve licked his lips and nodded, taking a few steps back until he was a respectable distance away, “I’m sorry sweetheart…I got carried away…”
You bit your lip, your eyes meeting his once more, “The girls are starting to suspect things…”
He frowned, “Is that why you came to see Mr. Neiman?”
You nodded, “I-I think it’s time that I leave the company, Steve…”
He took a sharp breath in, “Gloria…you don’t have to do that, doll.”
“You’re showing me special treatment, Steve,” you sighed, staring into his crystal-clear blue eyes.  He took a few steps in front of you once more until there was nearly no distance between your bodies.  Your heart thudded wildly in your chest as you studied his eyes, noticing the slightest green flecks in them.  He wrapped his arms around your waist, and you felt your breath leave you, “Steve…”
“I don’t want to let you go, Gloria!” he replied honestly, “I can’t think of this tour without you on it…y-you’re the only one keeping me grounded.”
“Gosh, I really can’t do this, Mr. Neiman…this-this isn’t what I wanted!” Steve sighed to the producer, “I want to be fighting in the war.   Serving my country!”
“Listen kid, the man on the hill pulled a lot of strings for this to happen,” he shrugged, “and you are grade A government property, kid.  So you should do what you’re told.  It’d serve you right to.”
“But I-“
“And what do you want to be in a war for anyways?” he asked.  He gestured to the stage, “we’re about to watch a lot of girls all here to support the war in a way that only they can…by supporting you.  By encouraging the country to buy the bonds to help in the war efforts.  Each bond is a bullet in the gun of your best guy…didn’t you say your best friend is over there?”
“Buck…”
“Yeah…imagine that with every bond you sell, you’re helping Buck…helping guys just like him get the bullets in the guns that they need to defend themselves!” Neiman urged, “to defend the country…”
“Yeah…”
“NEXT!” Neiman demanded, breaking Steve from his thoughts, “SEND THE NEXT GROUP OF GIRLS IN!”
Steve watched as another line of ten women came to the stage.  All of the women that they watched today were supposed to be in line to run a series of shows, a U.S.O tour that would support the war efforts.  And these women were to be back up dancers and singers for him.
“YOU.  On The end.  What’s your name?”
Steve became lost in thought as the first woman spoke.  He could think of so many other ways to help support the war efforts.  He was a super soldier who could take out a platoon of men on his own, and yet here he was, sitting in a chair in an auditorium, auditioning women.
The line of women continued, and Steve traveled deeper into his rabbit hole, using his call sheet to draw instead of mark the women that he liked.
It wasn’t until they got to the second to last woman in the line when the door burst open and another woman came scrambling down the aisle.  Steve dropped the pencil that he was sketching with, his breath hitching at the sight of you.
“I’m so sorry-my cab dropped me off on the wrong block and-I’m so sorry!”
“Name?” Neiman chuckled, humoring the woman.
“Gloria.  Gloria Smith!” you answered breathlessly, looking between Steve and Neiman, “I-I’m sorry again.  I’m from New York and this city is noth-“
“New York?” Steve perked up at the mention of his home state, another thing, in his mind, that the two of you had in common without knowing one another, “where from?”
“Manhattan…I mean, I spent a few years in Brooklyn as-“
“I’m from Brooklyn…”
Neiman smiled, seeing the instant connection that you held with the country’s asset.  He nodded up to the stage, “throw your heels back on, sweetheart.  Get at the end of the line and we’ll run the number.”
“Yes sir…”
“You can’t leave, Gloria,” Steve all but whimpered, “I need you here.”
“Steve…it isn’t just the glances on stage,” you admitted, “I-I’m p-“
“Rogers.  Smith.  What a coincidence seeing the both of you in my room!” Neiman teased, coming into the room.  You immediately broke away from Steve’s grasp and took a few steps back until there was room between the two of you.  Neiman smirked, “here to tell me I’m going to be hearing wedding bells instead of a tank in your future, Rogers?”
You blushed, “Sir, Captain Rogers and I-“
“We’re together!” Steve finished quickly, looking to you, “and I don’t want to hide that anymore.  Gloria came up here, and said that she wants to leave, but I don’t want to finish the tour without her.”
“Miss. Smith, you cannot break your contract!”
“I know,” you nodded, “but there are extenuating circumstances that can allow me to leave…should they be true!  Is that not correct?”
Neiman took a second, looking between you and Steve, before smiling.  He gently punched Steve’s shoulder, “Rogers…you dog!”
“What?” Steve asked, unsure of what was going on.
“And to think, we all thought that you were some type of fruit.  It all makes sense.  The two of you up here in my office,” he smiled, punching Steve’s shoulder again, “the glances you’ve been throwing at her since you had  her moved to the center.  You wanted to keep an eye on the mother of your child!”
Steve paled, obviously not ready to hear those words, “e-excuse me?”
“The only way to get out of the contract is because of pregnancy!” Neiman smirked, looking at you.  You bit your lip and looked away from Steve when he shot you a concerned look, “Miss. Smith, are you pregnant with Mr. Rogers child?”
“Gloria…” You looked at Steve, the silence in the room becoming thicker, denser with every moment, “Gloria…am I-am I going to be a father?”
“Steve…I wanted to talk about this in private…”
He paused momentarily, before a smile overtook him.  He rushed you, his hands reaching down to your hips, while his eyes held onto your stomach.  You felt entirely too exposed as he stared at the bedazzled corset that held your own secret back, “I’m going to be a father…”
“Miss. Smith…you’re out of the tour as a dancer!” Neiman said with the smallest of smirks, “but congratulations to the happy couple…I don’t want to keep you and Captain Rogers apart, so you can stay on…as his personal assistant while we travel.  And don’t worry, we’ll make proper stops so that you can see a doctor while we’re on the road.”
“A baby…” Steve repeated, his hands rushing to your stomach while he held you close, “Gloria…we’re going to have a baby.”
In the bustling world of fitness, where competition is fierce and new gyms pop up like mushrooms after rain, there’s a hidden gem that sets apart the wildly successful from the merely surviving: member retention. You might be pumping iron, but the real muscle behind rapid gym growth lies in fostering an unparalleled gym member experience.
Forge a Community That Transcends Sweat
Imagine stepping into a gym where you’re not just another face in the crowd, but a cherished member of an exclusive community. Member retention begins with this feeling of belonging. It’s about weaving an environment where individuals share more than just bench presses and burpees; they share goals, triumphs, and a sense of camaraderie. Building connections among members creates a sense of loyalty that’s hard to break.
Champion Each Milestone, Big or Small
Every stride towards fitness deserves applause. Members need to feel valued for their efforts, and one way to do that is to celebrate their successes. From reaching personal bests to conquering long-standing barriers, acknowledge these feats publicly and watch the motivation levels soar. A simple shout-out or a high-five can make the difference between a fleeting gym membership and a lifelong commitment.
Remember Their Name, Greet with a Smile
Imagine walking into your gym and being welcomed by name with a genuine smile. It’s like entering a place where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came. Personalizing the member experience in this way goes a long way. It’s not just a workout session; it’s a visit to a place that feels like home.
The First 30 Days: Nurture Like Never Before
The initial days of a member’s journey are critical. Do you have a new member nurturing sequence that showers them with attention, guidance, and support? Those first thirty days can set the tone for the entire membership. Offer personalized onboarding, provide orientation sessions, and offer personalized workout plans. Make them feel like they’re part of something special from day one.
Stay Close, Stay Committed
It’s not just about gaining members; it’s about keeping them. Regular check-ins can be a game-changer. Imagine receiving a call from your gym, not to sell a package, but to genuinely ask how you’re doing on your fitness journey. It’s a reminder that someone is invested in your progress, and it’s a subtle yet powerful way to enhance member retention.
Marking Time: Anniversaries and Milestones
In a fast-paced world, celebrating milestones can seem trivial. However, in the realm of member retention, marking anniversaries and special milestones holds immense significance. It shows that you care about the longevity of the relationship. Handwritten notes, small tokens of appreciation, or even a personalized shout-out can make your members feel cherished.
More than Membership: Personal Touches
Remembering a member’s birthday isn’t just about sending a generic email. It’s about acknowledging their special day and making them feel like part of an extended family. Offering special birthday workouts or small gifts can transform a regular gym visit into an extraordinary memory.
The Digital Welcome: New Member Welcome Emails
In an age of technology, the first point of contact often happens virtually. A well-crafted new member welcome email isn’t just a formality; it’s an invitation into a world of possibilities. Share success stories, offer a glimpse of what’s to come, and create anticipation that keeps your new member engaged from the start.
In conclusion, member retention isn’t a secret; it’s a strategic masterpiece that separates thriving gyms from the crowd. A gym member experience that transcends mere sweat sessions creates loyalty, devotion, and a sense of belonging. By celebrating success, offering personalized attention, and creating a community that uplifts each other, you can set the stage for rapid growth that’s fueled by genuine connection.
So, ask yourself: does your gym offer more than workouts? Is it a sanctuary where members feel valued and celebrated? Because the journey from just another gym to an extraordinary fitness haven begins with an unforgettable member experience.
While the principles of exceptional member retention might seem straightforward, implementing them seamlessly requires expertise and dedication. This is where Fitness Management & Consulting steps in as your ultimate partner. speed racer- eren jaeger
Tumblr media
pairing: eren jaeger x fem!reader
word count: 6k
content warnings: nsfw, smut, 18+, smoking, degradation, overstimulation, breeding (w/o baby talk)
notes: 100% inspired by the official art, like mmm yes please. also i know absolutely nothing about how car racing works, but that’s not important. this is unedited because my brain turned to mush writing it. enjoy!! <3
SUMMARY: eren’s a semi-professional car racer, who has a tumultuous friendship with the reader. after losing a race, eren sets out to win something else in his life, much to the reader’s surprise.
“took you long enough!” sasha called out, holding her hand above her eyes in an attempt to block out the bright sun. you dished her a smile, weaving your way through the throngs of people in the stands, attempting not to step on anyone. your eyes briefly flitted to the track, the assistants distantly getting their cars ready. they were hardly visible from here; merely faceless figures idling around. you heaved out a sigh as you reached sasha, the brunette gingerly patting the spot next to her.
“you couldn’t have gotten better seats, sash?” you asked as you sat down, pushing your sunglasses on top of your head. sasha waved her large bag of popcorn in front of your face, an exasperated expression on her features.
“the line was long, and what’s a race without popcorn?” she grinned, offering you the bag. you rolled your eyes but took a fistful of the bright yellow snack nonetheless. “plus, if you really wanted that good of seats, you would’ve come early yourself.”
“i did come here early,” you retorted, your voice muffled by the popcorn. sasha raised a questioning brow, her elbow nudging you in the side.
“getting here early just so you can poke around the racer’s quarters is not the same thing,” she singsonged, a girlish smirk on her face. you scoffed, turning away from her as you felt heat race to your cheeks. “c’mon, everyone knows you and eren are totally into each other. i don’t understand why you guys don’t just go for it.”
“i wasn’t poking around, and i am not into eren,” you said, shifting uncomfortably as the words left your mouth. it was true, to some degree. the two of you had been friends in high school, back when eren was just some skinny kid with anger issues. now he was a semi-professional racer, and the rivalry between the two of you was palpable, to say the least.
you’d been in the same friend group and for some reason eren just loved to pick on you whenever he got the chance. you suspected it had something to do with his repressed daddy issues or whatever, and he’d known mikasa and armin far too long to be so catty with them. initially they were just playful taunts, but as you got older, they started to become more personal. with age came your own unchecked need to banter and argue with him.
somewhere along the way the arguments turned to sexual tension. a sexual tension that for the most part, the two of you were happy to ignore. it allowed room for a more sassy friendship, at least.
“uh huh, suuure,” sasha responded, seemingly unconvinced. she must’ve sensed your discomfort, deciding to change the topic. “who’s who?”
your eyes traced the track, analyzing each vehicle. “armin’s in yellow, mikasa’s in red, eren’s in white, and i believe levi is in green.”
“levi’s racing? isn’t he getting a little old for that?” sasha laughed, squinting. you chuckled.
“it’s just a small fundraiser race, plus he’s a crowd favorite over here,” you explained. sasha nodded as she processed the information. the sun was hot, beating down on your back. “i’m honestly surprised this many people came out.”
sasha tossed more popcorn in her mouth, halfway done with the bag despite the race still not having started. she offered it to you again. “mhm, this is the same type of crowd that we’d see in the underground.”
you thought back to your days of attending the illegal races, late at night and under the cover of darkness. though you were just a junior in college, it felt like those nights freshman year had been decades ago. that was before eren showed real promise in the professional circuit. it was also where levi scouted him out to be his successor.
as if on cue, you could see the figures of the racers emerging from the port, each headed for their respective cars. you couldn’t help the way your gaze immediately followed the tall, brown haired racer adorned in his white racing jacket, checkers on the side. the crowd erupted into cheers at the sight of the all the racers, one from each color of the rainbow. eren walked with a certain confidence, his adamant determination being one of the only things that followed him from high school.
though you couldn’t clearly see his face from where you sat, you knew he was smiling. eren had always loved the adrenaline rush before a race.
“alright ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you to the annual shiganshina fundraiser race!” the reporter boomed over the intercom. sasha squealed in her seat, excitedly gripping your arm and pointing towards your friends. you felt a mix of excited nervousness waft over you, giggling along with her. “today we’ve got racers from all over the circuit, and each one has volunteered their precious time for the cause. can we get a round of applause?”
the crowd erupted in yet another ear deafening round of applause as the announcer read off the names of each of the racers. you and sasha made sure to scream your loudest when armin, mikasa, and eren’s names were read off.
you hoped they knew it was you, your throat scratchy as you sat back down. there was no need to be loud for levi; the entire crowd went absolutely feral at the mention of his name.
the announcer read off the conditions of the race, as well as the reasoning for the fundraiser itself. you and sasha chatted quietly about the after party while the racers put their helmets on and got in their cars. before too long, the announcer was gearing up for the start.
“alright everyone, we’re about to start. get yourselves ready.”
you and sasha stood, hollering and cheering for your friends as the cars all lined up. you knew you’d be happy if any of them crossed the finish line first, but it was undeniable that it would be eren. it wasn’t armin or mikasa’s passion like it was eren’s; they viewed it more as as fun hobby. nevertheless, you dreaded how smug eren would be once he added another win to his already growing list. he really was a bastard sometimes.
“racers ready your cars. 3... 2... 1... go!”
they were off, levi’s green car easily settling into first place, cruising past the other cars as he whipped around the first curve. you held your breath, eyes scanning the other cars placements. eren was in fourth, armin in fifth, and mikasa in second. sasha yelled sporadically, reaching out and squeezing your wrist tightly.
as they rounded the circuit for the second time, eren passed the third place racer, coming up behind mikasa’s red car. you held your breath. “c’mon eren...”
“shit! he passed her!” sasha screeched, jumping up and down. you smiled as he whipped the corner, nearly cutting the edge of the median.
“levi is still so far ahead,” you commented, trying to pry sasha’s death grip from your wrist. your eyes glanced to the clock, realizing that the race was near its finish. levi was cutting the third corner and eren was quickly gaining on him.
“looks like it’s gonna be clo-” sasha’s voice was cut off as a large man tripped over the bleacher behind you, effectively shoving you into her side. “shit, the popcorn!”
you regained your balance, giving the man behind you a dirty glare as you turned to sasha. she frowned at the popcorn that’d been spilled all over the ground. “what a waste!”
looking back up at the track, the crowd broke into screams of excitement. you expected to see eren’s face on the big screen to the side as confetti streamed through the air, but were surprised to see levi’s unimpressed stare.
eren lost?
“you’ve gotta be shitting me,” sasha gaped, her face slack in shock. you shrugged, shaking the feeling of disappointment from your shoulders. serves him right.
people started to vacate the stands, shoving their way past you as you turned to sasha. “let’s go find connie and jean, sash.”
she nodded, still frowning. the two of you climbed down the steps, going against the flow of the crowd as you weaseled your way down onto the spectators path. you could see all of the racers shaking hands, congratulating each other. your mind briefly considered whether or not eren was going to be upset, but you decided not to dwell on it.
you watched as the racers disappeared into the tunnel, eren’s tall figure no longer in view. just then, connie and jean came walking out from the service booth, both wearing their maintenance coveralls.
sasha wildly waved her arm, grabbing your hand and pulling you through the remaining stragglers towards your friends.
“hey guys!” she smiled, the boys jogging to meet you halfway.
“why were you guys in such shit seats?” connie asked, skipping over a greeting. you let out a small laugh at sasha’s expense. she merely shrugged, turning to jean.
“we going to your place?” you questioned before she had the chance. jean nodded, adjusting the backwards baseball cap on his head.
“yeah, just gotta wrap some things up, then we can head out,” he replied. you grew happy at the thought of kicking back with your friends, enjoying a nice night of fun. parties at jean and connie’s place were always the best.
***************
“some race that was,” connie groaned, leaning back and bringing the beer bottle to his lips. so far it was just you, sasha, connie, jean, and a bunch of random drunk people who’d come from the track. sasha scoffed from her spot on the worn, brown couch.
“you could say that again,” she grumbled. “we didn’t even get to see levi cross the finish line ‘cause some guy rammed into us.”
jean looked at you from where he leaned against the wall, a bottle in his hand and his eyebrows raised. “wait, for real?”
“yeah,” you sighed, drinking whatever bitter liquid sasha had poured into your red solo cup. “didn’t even say sorry.”
“how many times do i have to tell you guys, just come work maintenance with jean-boy and i,” connie suggested, wrapping his arm around sasha’s shoulder and giving a squeeze. she rolled her eyes and shoved him off. “you guys would get to watch the race from the track itself.”
“i don’t know the first thing about cars,” sasha laughed, you nodding along with her.
“and you think we do? i just said that so we could get the best seats in the house,” connie snorted, taking another swig of his drink. you chuckled at his idiocy, unfazed by yet another one of their stupid stunts. “where’re the big racers anyway?”
“they should be here soon,” you responded, glancing out the window. jean was unironically blasting the fast and the furious soundtrack, something he’d done after every race for as long as you’d known him. by now the songs were ingrained in your brain.
“who wants to bet jaeger is in a pissy mood?” jean snorted as he moved to sit down on the arm of the chair you were planted in.
“when isn’t he?” you sneered. connie and sasha hummed in agreement. both you and jean loved nothing more than to push eren’s buttons. you knew jean’s motives stemmed from some boyish fun, whereas yours felt a little more personal.
the sound of clapping began to compete with the music, your neck craning to look past jean into the hallway. eren, armin, and mikasa came into view, people cheering them on and patting them on the back. they each wore their racing jackets over their street clothes.
you felt a familiar sensation burn in your stomach at the sight of eren. his dark hair was pulled back per usual, wispies framing his tan face. The white jacket stood out against his black t-shirt and black jeans; key necklace he always wore glinting against his chest. as your gaze travelled up from his body, you were startled to make contact with his teal eyes. you quickly glanced away in embarrassment.
“well, well, well,” jean cheered, raising his bottle to the trio. “how’d it feel to lose to a short, old man, eh jaeger?”
eren scowled, obviously peeved. “if i had to lose to anyone, i’m glad it was levi.”
connie snorted at that. “man, professional circuit has you soft.”
“whatever you say, baldie,” eren smirked mischievously as he came to sit down on the couch. connie defensively rubbed his head. “at least i’m making money in prof.”
“i still can’t believe you have people that actually want to sponsor you,” you snipped, a playful expression on your face. eren lazily looked towards you, the familiar irritation laced in his eyes.
“i’m sorry, what was that? i wasn’t listening to you,” eren retorted, looking as unbothered as ever. you glared at his words, but caught armin’s disapproving eye and decided to stay quiet.
as the night carried on, you watched your friends relax and reminisce about previous races and the days spent in the illegal ring. it seemed crazy that your life was so centered around car races, when you weren’t even a racer yourself. but you supposed you were just happy to be supporting your friends.
at some point you got up out of your chair to refill your cup. the large hoards of people had started to dance; the house feeling hot and humid as you shoved your way to the kitchen. luckily the room was empty, save for armin who was drinking water out of the kitchen tap.
“thirsty?” you asked, amused. his head snapped up, surprised by your voice. it took one look to tell he was absolutely trashed, face red and eyes half lidded. he smiled goofily and nodded his head before stumbling back out into the crowd of people.
you quickly filled your cup, following the direction armin had gone. as you stepped out of the kitchen, a body came out of nowhere and smacked into you.
eren jumped back, trying to avoid the liquid that sloshed out of your cup. “hey, watch it!” he hissed.
“you watch it, casanova,” you snapped, irritated by the sticky alcohol that dripped down your hand. eren’s eyes narrowed at the nickname, his arms defensively crossing his chest.
“i told you not to call me that,” he bit back, eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. you rolled your eyes, instinctively bringing your hand to your mouth in an attempt to lick the drink off. eren watched you, his gaze clouded with an indiscernible emotion. you knew what you were doing.
“hm. too bad,” you quipped, dragging your tongue down the side of your hand, popping your pointer finger in your mouth. eren glowered at you as you let out a giggle. “see ya, loser.”
“whatever, brat,” he huffed, shaking the tension from his pants as you sauntered off into the crowd. he hated the effect you had on him.
you’d already decided not to get shit faced. while the rest of your friends had chosen otherwise, you danced alongside them, your resolve wearing thin much faster than theirs. jean and sasha bounced happily up and down, screaming the lyrics to whatever song it was blasting from the speakers. connie and mikasa were playing beer pong, and you had no clue where armin and eren had gone.
you heaved in a breath as a sharp pain shot through your side, signaling the end of your dancing career for the night. your two dance partners were too far gone to notice, waving goodbye to you as you stepped out of the sweaty crowd.
slipping your phone out of your pocket, your eyes nearly popped from your head at the time. two thirty?!
only slightly tipsy, you decided to find jean’s room and call it a night. he’d just have to sleep on the couch. with one hand dragging on the wall, you made your way through the house, past armin who was doing body shots with a couple of strangers, up the stairs and down the dark hall. it was quieter up here, but you could still hear the music and knew it’d be awhile till sleep visited you.
shoving jean’s door open, you were surprised to see none other than eren laid back on the bed, puffs of smoke coming from his mouth. the strong scent of weed hit your nostrils, nose scrunching up in reflex. he propped himself up on one arm upon your entrance, eyeing you.
“oh, sorry i’ll just- wait a minute,” you paused, narrowing your eyes at him. “you aren’t supposed to be smoking on your sponsorship.”
eren let out a loud laugh at that, more smoke spilling from his lungs. “thanks, mom. i know.”
you stood in the doorway, not really sure what to do. “jean’s gonna be mad if his room smells like weed tomorrow.”
“yeah, why do you think i chose to do it in here?” he leered, bringing the blunt to his lips and deeply inhaling, sharp cheekbones protruding with the action. you sucked in a breath, not wanting to acknowledge just how gorgeous he was. his jacket was off, black shirt tightly gripping his muscular yet slender arms as he propped himself up. he blew the smoke from his nostrils this time, making your face heat. “wanna hit?”
you sighed, weighing the options. jean’s bed was a lot more comfortable than connie’s. you could just wait till eren was done, and then pass out. “no, but i’ll wait with you till you’re done.”
“suit yourself, brat,” eren hummed, flopping back down on the bed as you shut the door behind yourself. you came to sit by him, looking down as he heaved in a sober breath. he really is beautiful, you thought.
your eyes scanned his face. “you really shouldn’t be smoking, you know. you could lose the sponsorship.”
eren rolled his teal eyes, giving you a side glance. “i’m aware. i’m also aware that you aren’t going to rat on me.”
“and what makes you so sure?” you asked playfully, your voice low. eren’s gaze shifted to you, placing the blunt between his lips as he sat up, face inches from yours.
“because. you can act like you hate me all you want,” smoke blew from his lips as he spoke, slowly inching his face closer to yours. you swallowed, eyes struggling to maintain contact with his dark stare. “but i know how badly you want me.”
you blinked, heart rate accelerating as he glanced at your lips. “speaking from experience?”
eren’s mouth quirked up in a smirk at your words. “something like that.”
you watched with desire as he brought the bud of the blunt up to his lips, deeply inhaling the toxic smoke. he lifted his free hand, pointer finger gently tracing your jaw as his thumb came up to caress your chin. he tapped softly against your face, as if asking you to open your mouth.
you weren’t sure what part of you was wanting to submit to his every move. maybe it was the alcohol. or maybe it was the accumulation of sexual tension. something told you it was a deeper itch that needed to be scratched. an itch only eren could reach.
you parted your lips, eyes fluttering as eren leaned forward and carefully brushed his own against yours, dumping his lungful of smoke into your mouth. you breathed it in, fighting the urge to cough and whine as he pulled away.
“good girl,” he breathed, leaning away to snuff the bud out on jean’s bedside table. you heaved out as much as you could, shocked by your own willingness. you were mainly surprised by how much you enjoyed whatever that was.
you stared at him expectantly as he turned back to you, a serious expression on his face. “eren.”
“yes?” he asked, leaning heavily on his arm, eyes unashamedly focused on your lips. his other hand came up again, lightly ghosting your jawline. you could feel yourself growing wet between your legs; the way eren was fucking you with his eyes sending an unwelcomed throb to your clit.
acting on impulse, you lurched forward, latching your lips onto eren’s slightly chapped ones. he wasted no time in kissing you back; hungrily pressing himself closer to your body. his lips were warm and tasted like weed and coca cola, his tongue wiggling its way into your mouth where you happily welcomed it.
you brought your hand up, wanting to run your fingers through his hair, but were stopped when they got caught in the bun. eren grunted, kissing you harder and bringing his own hand up to yank the tie from his locks, letting his soft hair fall to his shoulders.
your fingers were quick to glide through the brown strands, scratching his scalp in the process. some throaty sound emitted from his chest, the noise making your cunt ache in need. how is he so hot?
eren’s hands came to your waist, roughly shoving you down onto the bed, so that he hovered above you. your lips continued to meld together, saliva coated mouths wetly intertwined. you removed your hand from his hair, bringing both hands to run down the expanse of his arms that were on either side of your head. you squeezed his biceps, surprised when he suddenly pulled away.
“is this okay?” he panted, breaths labored. his pupils were dilated, all seriousness behind his gaze. you nodded your head without hesitation, practically begging him to continue. “words.”
“yes, yes. i want this just as much as you do,” you responded. eren smirked from above you, his dark hair swirling around his face as his key dangled in front of your chin.
“good, because,” he leaned down to your ear, lightly nibbling the lobe as the cold key rested against your throat. “i’m going to punish you for all these years of torture.”
your eyes widened, the words sending a desirable chill down your spine. “torture?”
eren’s hot mouth travelled slowly from your ear down the side of your neck, lightly peppering the skin with lustful kisses. his tongue came out as he reached your collarbone, dragging the wet muscle up the front of your throat, leaving a trail of saliva in its wake. a small whimper involuntarily left your mouth as he pulled back, grabbing your chin in his large hand.
“all of the nicknames,” he pressed a kiss to your lips. “the quips,” and another, your chest tightening. “the stunt you pulled earlier with your hand. oh god. it’s like you were practically begging me to bend you over and teach you a lesson.”
he pulled back, dark eyes boring into yours. the desire was palpable, your breathing shallow as he stared at you. it was like he was waiting for some silent agreement.
you held eye contact, tilting your chin back ever so slightly in his grip. “good thing i learn fast.”
your words flew straight to his cock, throbbing uncomfortably behind his jeans. eren let go of your chin, his lips hungrily reconnecting with yours as his hands pinned your wrists to either side of your head. his tongue was quick to invite itself into your mouth, warm and erotic.
you wanted to tug on his hair again; wanted to hear his primal groans and feel him vibrate against your mouth, but you were pinned to the bed. desperate to hear eren moan, your teeth grazed his bottom lip, the action making him yank his head back.
“tsk tsk, none of that,” he growled, wet lips glinting in the low light of the room. “this is your punishment. guess we’re going to have to do something else.”
you frowned as he let go of your wrists, lifting himself from the bed and standing. you propped yourself up on your elbows, eyes laced with desire as eren swiftly pulled the black shirt over his head, key pendant resting on his newly exposed chest. he was dangerously attractive like this; dark hair disheveled on his shoulders, only adding to the feral stare he was giving you.
he leaned forward, grabbing your thighs and yanking you to the end of the bed, legs dangling from the side. you watched in awe as he dropped to his knees, fingers coming up to toy with the button of your jean shorts.
“these little shorts make your ass look so good,” he grumbled, tapping the button. “be good and take them off for me.”
you wasted no time in lifting your ass off the bed, struggling to yank the denim down your legs without hitting eren in the face. he watched your every movement, licking his lips as you wiggled them off.
without thinking, your hands gripped the hem of your shirt, pulling it over your head to reveal a black bra. eren’s pupils dilated further at the unexpected sight of your breasts.
he helped pull the shorts from your ankles, tossing them aside as you sat back down, just in your panties and bra. you paused for a moment, unsure of what he was planning to do.
“watch me,” he demanded, staring at you through his brows. you nodded your head, breath hitching as he placed an open mouthed kiss to the inside of your thigh, tongue swiping against the smooth skin.
his eyelashes fluttered as he licked up your leg; just the way he looked at you being enough to have you creaming in your lace panties. your teeth tugged at your bottom lip, the burning in your face mirroring the way your clit throbbed along with your heart beat.
eren’s tongue trailed until he reached the edge of your underwear, eyes never failing to stay connected with yours. you swallowed as he lifted his head, placing his tongue flatly against your clothed clit.
it was a warm, muted feeling, your body all too aware of the beautiful man between your legs. eren brought his fingers up, hooking under the fabric and pushing it to the side.
“so wet for me already,” he hummed, a smile on his face. you blushed in embarrassment, the feeling of his breath on your glistening pool of moisture making you shiver. “’m gonna eat you so good, little bitch.”
you gasped as eren rapidly brought his face down, burying his head between your legs. the sensation was like no other; a swirling feeling in your stomach as his tongue hungrily swiped against your clit. your hands flew down to his hair, tugging as his lips wrapped around the bud, suckling softly.
a moan escaped your lips, the sound causing eren to groan out in reply. the vibration of his vocal cords against your center amplifying the pleasure.
a distinct feeling began to burn in your chest, the sloppiness of eren’s tongue licking up your slick causing your legs to squirm, tightening around his head. “fuck.”
eren pulled back at the pressure against his skull, a smack sounding through the air as he released his suction on your wet cunt.
“i told you to be good,” he hissed, lips coated in your sheen. you knew the image of eren’s face between your legs, hair disheveled and mouth swollen, eyes dark and lustrous, would be burned into the back of your brain.
flustered, you nodded your head, spreading your legs so they weren’t pressing against his face. he nodded in content, arms coming up to wrap around your thighs to keep you steady.
and he was back; eating your pussy like he hadn’t been fed in years, a primal desperation. he pressed his tongue down harder, the cry ripping from your throat at the sensation only egging him on. you struggled against his grip as he abused your clit with his mouth, sucking and tracing his teeth over it so good.
his tongue slid down to your entrance, shoving itself in without invitation. the fullness wasn’t like having sex; it was a heated, swirling feeling. the wet muscle circled around your spongey walls, your face beginning to burn and hands growing clammy in eren’s hair.
you threw your head back as his ministrations sped up, your hips attempting to grind into his face. the warmth in the pit of your stomach building like a loaded gun, ready to release itself.
all it took was the added pressure of his hand wrapping around your thigh so that his thumb could press against your clit, feverishly rubbing. you came crashing down, your eyes screwing shut as the wave of dopamine stretched to every part of your body, legs jerking against his hold.
eren pulled his head back again, a smile on his wet face as he licked your release from his lips. “tasted so good, so good for me.”
you breathed out in reply as he came back up above you, gently taking your chin and bringing his mouth down to yours.
the kiss was small and simple, your eye lids growing heavy. you could taste your bitter release on him, the unfamiliar flavor not completely unpleasant.
“sleepy?” eren mumbled against your lips, coming back to look at you. you nodded your head, eyes catching on the key that dangled from his neck. “too bad. we aren’t done with your punishment yet.”
you frowned, your body suddenly more awake than it was before. “huh?” you asked, sitting up as eren shifted to pull his jeans off.
you weren’t sure what you expected when he yanked both his jeans and boxers down; you guessed you’d always thought his anger issues were compensation for something. the realization dawned on you that eren had nothing to compensate for as his cock sprung from his pants, the sheer size making your mouth water.
a smirk crossed his face as he stepped from his jeans. “enjoying the view?”
“what? no,” you scoffed, averting your gaze. eren crawled back over you, his bare length pressing into your stomach as his hands came up to unclasp your bra.
“don’t be shy, this is your punishment after all,” he whispered, pulling the cups from your chest. his eyes unashamedly scanned your breasts, a smile tugging his lips as he gave them a generous squeeze.
you tried to ignore the imprint of him on your stomach; but it was nearly impossible. you could feel the spot between your legs grow wet again, arousal already weaseling its way back into your system.
eren brought his lips to yours once again, the kisses much sloppier and desperate than before. he grunted as you shifted to lay back down, his exposed dick rubbing against your stomach. “can’t wait to be inside of you,” he mumbled against your lips.
you whimpered at his words, his lips melding with your own while he simultaneously tugged your panties down your legs. he propped himself up with one arm, the other positioning the tip of his cock at the entrance of your already throbbing cunt.
you took a deep breath as he slowly eased himself into you; the sheer stretch making your eyes lull back in your head. eren moved his hips slowly at first, loosening you up. he was watching your expressions; his eyelids heavy and mouth slightly agape.
“shit, you’re so tight,” he groaned, hips starting to move faster as he gazed down at you. you swallowed, closing your eyes as he sent one particularly hard thrust, cock nearly ramming your cervix. “you good?”
“mhm,” you responded, bringing your hands up to grab his hair. “just so big.”
eren let out a breathy chuckle at that, eyes traveling down to your pelvis where his dick was visibly creating a bump with every thrust. he placed his hand on your stomach, pressing down as he bucked his hips violently forwards. he was so deep.
you cried out at the feeling of his length sliding in and out of your cunt, your walls clenching around him as your hands clawed at his muscular back.
he was filling you up so good, a moan leaving his lips as your enhanced arousal unexpectedly brought your second orgasm down, tears pricking your eyes. eren kept abusing your pussy, his thrusts growing senseless before he buried himself deep within you, releasing his load inside of your exhausted center.
both of your breathing was labored, eren looking up at the ceiling. his face was flushed as he recovered, you laying limply beneath him trying to regain your composure yourself.
“that felt so good,” you admitted, bringing your hand up from his back to caress his angular face. eren frowned at your words, large hand grabbing your wrist and removing it from his jawline.
“m’not tired yet,” he said seriously, your eyes widening as he placed a chaste kiss to your lips. your fucked out face beneath him had his dick already hardening again. “m’not gonna be tired till i win.”
he suddenly pulled up, hooking his hands under your knees and pushing your legs up by your head. the action strained your muscles, the feeling of eren’s cum dripping down your ass filling your head as he readied himself to fuck you senseless.
he stared at your cunt; at the way his cum was oozing out of it, the abused pussy ready to take him in again. he used his fingers to catch the drip, forcing it back inside of you. the thought of filling you up all nice and pretty sent him over the edge, his hand shamelessly guiding his cock back inside of you.
eren was meaner this time; each thrust was deep and deliberate, hitting your cervix and making you cry out in pleasure. the burning sensation in your clit was overwhelming, your mouth hanging open as eren slowly fucked you stupid.
“good, pretty girl” eren breathed out, ramming his hips into yours. “took her punishment like such a good girl.”
you tried to nod your head, but you couldn’t move. the feeling of hot, sticky tears rolled down your face, eren’s cock deep within you almost too much to bear. he grabbed your chin, tongue swiping up your cheek as he savored the salty flavor on his tastebuds. this man and his licking.
“tell me, did you learn your lesson?” eren grunted in your ear, hand still gripping your chin. you tried to form a sentence, fucked beyond words. “hm, use your words and i’ll let you cum.”
one more deep thrust and his dick stopped its strokes, pausing within you. “yes... yes.”
“yes what?”
your tongue was heavy in your mouth, pussy all too aware of eren’s length within it. “i learned my lesson, you won.”
he smirked, aggressively bucking his hips into your weak cunt, the action making you cry out as he rammed your cervix. the tears continued to roll down your cheeks as eren’s dick twitched, spurting the his seed into you. your third release followed his, your clit spasming from the overstimulation.
eren heaved himself out of you, collapsing deftly onto the bed. the two of you sat in a heated silence, your face sticky from the tears. eren glanced to you, eyes trailing down your body.
“i’ll get a rag,” he mumbled, shoving off the bed and walking into jean’s bathroom. you were beyond exhausted and knew that you’d be sore tomorrow. eren reemerged, quickly cleaning you up and handing you your shirt.
your eyes lazily watched him as he walked over and locked the door; brain too tired to form a sentence.
he must’ve noticed your concern. “we can sleep in here tonight; i don’t think you’re in any shape to move.”
you carefully crawled into the sheets, not even bothering to put your shirt back on. eren followed suit, climbing in behind you.
“night,” he whispered as he shut the bedside light off. your lids were growing heavy, a smile on your lips as you began to fall asleep.
“night, casanova.”
MASTERLIST
You’ve been working in this small bar for years now; it mainly catered to older folks, the owners having fallen in love with the 40s and 50s and themed their bar after that. You quickly fell in love with the decades as well, hearing the old music and seeing all of the older people’s faces light up, reliving their glory years. However, usually, there were a couple younger groups there to relish in the theme a bit.
You started as a waitress at 18, trying to work your way through college. Quickly, you moved up to bartender, before one slow night when you randomly decided to sing along to one of the songs that the Thursday night live band always played. They were a pretty good group, and you soon found yourself listening to the songs they played in your free time. After you sang with them, the owners decided to add you to the regular Thursday night entertainment, still bartending on other nights.
You were nearing the end of your set, just two more songs to go before you could take off the heels you had ridiculously decided to wear tonight. They were very 50s and you loved the look, but, carelessly, you hadn’t broken them in yet. You thought you would be fine, but your typical little dance during Fly Me to the Moon had suffered greatly. However, they matched your midi-navy-polka-dot dress and your pin-up style curls, so it wasn’t a total loss.
“Alright everybody, we’re getting close to that time of the night,” you hummed into the microphone, “for this next one we’re gonna slow things down a bit. To those of you I’ve been watching sit in your chairs all night, you’ve only got two more chances to ask your ladies to dance. Even if you don’t know how, ask her anyway, she'll love it.” you joked.
The band started to play Paul Anka’s Put Your Head on My Shoulder, a personal favorite of yours.
“And remember, if anyone needs a partner, I’m ready and willing,” you joked as the intro played. Quite a few times, older men who no longer had a partner took you for a spin for a song or two and you loved it.
You hummed a bit before you started singing along.
As you were singing, you watched a few of the younger guys in the back finally bring their girls out on the floor. Smiling as you watched them, you swayed back and forth.
You kept going with the song, almost at the end, glad that someone hadn’t asked you to dance, because your feet were really killing you.
You finally finished it off, earning a small applause as you twirled with the mic.
“Alright y’all, last song of the night and you know what that means as well,” you spoke to the crowd, “last call for alcohol,” you sang out.
You pointed back at the bar, and your friend who was tending tonight, before she waved at the group. A few people left the dance floor to get a drink as you continued your end of the night spiel, “fellas still sitting by themselves, last chance to take a spin on the floor. I see you still sitting there in the back! It’s a short song, I promise,” you chastised the last table you saw still sitting there.
Two couples from that table got up to dance, leaving one man sitting by himself. You felt kind of bad for turning everyone’s attention to him, but you had offered earlier to dance if anyone needed a partner, so the ball was in his court.
You signaled to the band to start up and spoke, “alright here we go,” into the mic.
It’s Been a Long, Long Time kicked off, and you instantly swayed. The band didn’t usually play this song, but after your Marvel obsession kicked in, you convinced them to add it to the set list.
You sang away, loving life, but your eyes didn’t leave the man in the back. He was obscured by shadows - probably purposefully - but you felt drawn to him already. Something about him sent tingles down your spine.
Before you knew it, the song was over. You took a small bow before turning and pointing at your band, getting the audience to applaud them individually.
“Thanks everybody, have a good night and drive safe. Hope to see you next week!” you spoke quickly and everyone filed off the dance floor to collect their things.
“Thanks, you guys, that was a good show!” you spoke to the band before you rolled up your mic cord and packed it away backstage. As soon as it was safely in its case, you took a seat on one of the saxophone cases and started rubbing your feet.
Soon, the band came back to put their instruments away and you reluctantly gave up your seat. You headed to the bar to sit with your friend while she finished cleaning up; this gave you a chance to rest your feet a little more before attempting to maneuver yourself home.
You glanced around the room quickly and everyone had cleared out except the back table. They were all standing, putting on jackets, and just beginning to file out the door. The couples went first hand-in-hand, followed by the single man. You looked back at your friend and began to make small talk about the next night, seeing as you were off, before you felt a tap on your shoulder.
“That was a great set,” the man spoke out in a low raspy voice, “I wish I had a dance partner.”
“Thank you, but if I remember correctly, I did offer to dance with anyone. Anyone included you, Chris,” you quipped back lightly, chuckling.
“Well, doll, the way you were stumbling about up there, I didn’t want to risk it,” he joked back, “and you know who I am?”
“I’m gonna head in the back to finish cleaning up and then we can go,” your friend spoke, gently tapping your forearm. You usually carpool to work because you live a few houses down from each other and it just makes sense.
“Alright, sounds good,” you answered her before turning back to Chris, “well I did just sing Steve and Peggy’s song. I wouldn’t be doing it justice if I didn’t know at least its major history. And I don’t think I was stumbling.”
“Okay, fair,” he answered, “maybe stumbling wasn’t the right word, but I can tell your feet hurt in those shoes.”
A small silence settled between the two of you as you got lost in his eyes, barely registering what he had said. His lips curled into a small smile as he gazed back. His eyes darted from yours to your lips for only the slightest second, before wandering down to your feet, which you were rolling slightly on the leg of the barstool, attempting to massage them a little. He looked back into your eyes again, his smile growing. The tension in the room rose quickly, and you began to get a little hot under his gaze. You were wondering how you ever got so lucky to have Chris freaking Evans looking at you like that.
“I’d offer to get you a drink, but you did say last call a little while ago,” he spoke slowly.
“That I did,” you answered, “maybe next time.”
“Or, I could take you somewhere else,” he offered lightly, his voice raising in pitch.
“Hmm, I don’t know if my feet are up for it,” you said softly, “and I don’t know where else we would go on a Thursday night. Everyone is probably announcing their own last call.” You were surprised by your own confidence in front of him. You had no idea how you were keeping it together, let alone flirting.
“Another option,” he suggested, “I could offer you a nightcap at my place. Or maybe coffee? A glass of wine?”
“Eager there are we?” you quipped.
“Well, what can I say, that last song did it for me,” he chuckled, “but really, it would be totally casual, no expectations.”
You thought for a moment, weighing the options. He probably wasn’t a murderer, or a kidnapper. He was probably one of the gentlest guys you could go home with, and lord knows you’ve taken a few risks with others.
“Totally casual doesn’t sound too bad.”
“Really?” he asked, “great! Do you have a car here?”
“No, we carpool,” you said, gesturing at your friend who had just walked back into the room.
“Ready to go?” she asked.
“Actually I was going to head out with Chris,” you said, looking at him while you spoke.
“Oh, okay,” she said, her voice dropping slightly, “well, I’ll lock up the front and we can head out the back together then.”
“Great,” Chris answered, his eyes never leaving you.
You slipped your shoes back on and stepped down from your stool. You grabbed your purse from next to you and turned to grab your jacket, which was no longer on the back of your chair. You looked up and saw Chris holding it open for you and you slipped your arms in, your heart swooning wildly. You smiled at each other and followed your friend out the back.
You hugged her quickly, whispering “I’ll send you my location,” in her ear. After all, a girl can’t be too careful.
You followed Chris to his car around the front of the building, where he opened the door for you before jogging around to the driver’s side.
His car was nice, as to be expected, but not flashy and you enjoyed his modesty. It smelled freshly cleaned - a big plus - but also rode incredibly smoothly. You were more than content to drive around with him, listening to pop songs and belting out musicals, but before you knew it, he was pulling into his driveway.
He got out first, stepping out quickly. You waited half a second, sending your location to your friend quickly. As you were reaching for the door handle, it was being pulled from the outside. Always a gentleman, he is.
Chris flashed you a charming smile as you stepped out, swinging your purse over your shoulder.
“This way, darlin’,” he spoke lowly, shutting the car door. His hand was quick to find a home on your lower back, gently guiding you towards the front door.
Once up the stairs, he crossed in front of you, unlocking the door and slowly pushing it open. The alarm on the wall chirped, signaling the opening of the front door. Chris quickly bent down with his hands in front of his knees, preparing for the impact. Dodger came flying around the corner having heard the chirp, and slammed right into his dad’s hands before jumping onto his dad’s legs begging for pets.
“Hey bubba, how you doin’?” Chris spoke to his best friend, rubbing his ears, “this here is Y/N, be nice to her buddy, no jumping.”
Dodger quickly took notice of you and immediately tried to jump onto your legs, a greeting you weren’t necessarily against, but since Chris said no, you quickly pushed your hand down and met him on the ground. He sat at your feet, immediately accepting your presence.
“He never does that!” Chris spoke, shocked at how quickly Dodger took to you.
“What can I say? I must be magic,” you joked and shrugged at him, making him laugh.
“Well let’s move out of the doorway, yeah?” Chris asked before closing the front door behind you.
Chris moved to the side of the hallway quickly; he kicked off his shoes and encouraged you to do the same. You happily followed suit, aching to get those damn heels off again. You sighed in contentment once your bare feet hit the cool hardwood floor, throwing your head back slightly, closing your eyes, and breathing deeply.
“That bad, huh?” Chris chuckled, waiting for you at the end of the hall.
“Oh yeah, I definitely have to get used to those before I try to wear them again,” you answered back.
“Well, follow me and we’ll figure out that drink I offered.”
You set your purse on the bench next to your shoes before following him into the kitchen. He strolled around the island, resting his forearms on the island.
“Take a seat, doll,” he encouraged you, gesturing to the barstools on the other side.
Usually you wouldn’t have obliged so quickly, offering to help him make whatever, but given the state of your feet, you hopped up quickly.
“Alright, so you have a lot of options, water as always, coffee, beer - my personal favorite - tequila, a slew of other liquor, juice, soda, milk, - which would be weird but whatever - wine, take your pick,” he said smiling at you.
“Coffee sounds good to me, to be honest,” you answered quietly. You would’ve chosen beer simply because it was his favorite, but you weren’t a big fan if you’re being honest.
“Coffee it is, gorgeous,” he answered, filling the pot with water and loading in the grounds, “milk, creamer, sugar, black? What do you like?”
“Milk and sugar would be good.”
“You sure? I’ve got peppermint creamer,” he coaxed you.
“On second thought...” you chuckled, taking him up on his offer.
“Alright, doll, peppermint it is,” he laughed.
Soon the coffee was ready and as excited to try the peppermint creamer as you were, you could’ve watched him flutter around the kitchen for days. He handed you a sleek navy blue mug, taking a red one himself.
“Shall we head to the living room?”
“Whatever you want, it’s your house,” you laughed.
“Alright, follow me,” he said, leading the way, “you too, Dodge,” he called over the island. Dodger had been sitting at his feet the whole time, watching his dad.
He settled into one arm of the couch, pulling the coffee table closer to rest your mugs on. He placed his mug down and gestured for you to join him. You sat on the other end of the sofa, gently, looking over at him. He threw an arm over the back of the couch, kicked his feet out in front of him, and turned his body towards yours. Dodger watched you sit down and looked at you, almost saying “you’re in my spot,” before turning around and going over to his bed by the fireplace.
“How’re your feet doing now?” he asked you.
“They’re okay, it may take a few days to recover,” you laughed back, turning to face him as well. You held your mug in one hand, bringing the other to your foot as you swung your legs up at your side.
Chris reached over towards your feet, pulling them into his lap, “here let me,” he spoke.
You blushed lightly at the very domestic action, but who would say no to a beautiful man rubbing their feet? He massaged them gently and you let out a little groan.
“You really don’t have to do that, but you’re so good at it I don’t want you to stop,” you told him.
“Well then I won’t stop, darlin’.”
He looked at you from across the couch, making your heart swoon again. You let out the quietest moan, enjoying the work of his hands, and closed your eyes.
Chris laughed lightly, whispering something to himself under his breath. You were a little lost in the moment, so you didn’t hear him.
“Sorry, what was that?” you asked him.
“Oh, nothing, just talking to myself,” he answered. You knew that wasn’t the case, but let it rest anyway; it couldn’t have been too important.
Chris started asking you about your work and friends and family, what kind of movies you liked, and music preference of course. You asked him as well, really getting to know each other. He had stopped rubbing your feet a long time ago, but kept them in his lap, an arm thrown across them, rubbing your shins and ankles lightly. Dodger was snoring loudly across the room, and had been for quite a long time. The both of you were so lost in the conversation, that you didn’t realize how late it had gotten. You glanced out the window behind him, beginning to see the sunrise.
“Oh my goodness, what time is it?” you asked him, chuckling.
He glanced at his phone quickly, “almost 5:00,” he said with wide eyes, “I didn’t realize it had gotten so late.”
“I’m so sorry,” you said a little embarrassed, “I’ve stayed way too long, I’ll just get out of your hair.” You began to pull your legs out of his lap, but he locked them down.
“You don’t have to leave if you don’t want to,” he spoke quietly, “I’ve really enjoyed your company.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to overstay my welcome…” you trailed off.
“Positive, sweetheart. Please, stay.”
“Okay, if you’re sure,” you asked him, raising an eyebrow. He nodded slightly at you. “Then I'll stay,” you said, settling back into the couch.
“Can I get you another cup?” he asked, gesturing to your mug.
“Sure,” you answered lightly, handing it to him. He got up and trailed into the kitchen. You waited half a second before following him.
Chris heard you walk into the kitchen, turning around to look at you quickly, “sorry, can I get you something else?”
“No, I’m fine,” you answered.
“Oh, well, uh… I would’ve brought your mug back to you,” he chuckled.
“Oh that’s okay, I felt weird just sitting there,” you laughed lightly.
“Oh, okay,” he chuckled back, “well, since you’re here now, can I offer you breakfast?”
You didn’t realize how hungry you’d gotten until he offered, “only if I can help,” you responded.
“Oh well, that’s a deal breaker, darlin’,” he answered, almost seductively.
“Well then no breakfast for me,” you laughed.
He was starving too, only having had a small dinner before he went to the bar last night. He didn’t know when you’d eaten last, so you must be hungry as well.
“Well, maybe there is one way, you can help,” he said in a high pitched voice.
“What can I do?” you asked quickly.
“Come here,” he said.
You walked around the island you had been leaning on, joining him between it and the cabinets on the wall. Chris extended a hand towards you. You took it quickly and allowed him to guide you closer to him. Once you were fully in front of him, he dropped your hand and grabbed both of your hips. He picked you up quickly, surprising you, before setting you on the counter.
You laughed lightly at him, “okay, now what?”
“Now, you sit there and look pretty while I make breakfast,” he chuckled out, standing between your knees, keeping a little distance between the two of you.
“Chrissssss,” you whine out at him.
“What, doll?” he asks, taking a step closer to you as you wrap your hands around his shoulders.
“I can do more than just sit here.”
“Oh, really?” he asks, taking another step towards you, now standing between your thighs, almost flush to the counter.
“Yeah, I can,” you breathe out, barely able to contain yourself now that he’s slotted between your legs.
“Nope, darlin’, this is enough help. Promise,” he says quietly.
Chris glanced down at your lips quickly before looking back into your eyes. He ran his hands up your thighs, starting at your knees, before settling onto your hips again. The temperature in the room seemed to rise at an unbelievable rate as you stared into each others’ eyes. You could feel his breath on your lips, you were sure he could feel yours as well, the smell of coffee and peppermint radiated between you. He slowly leaned in and connected your lips.
It was like time stood still. He moved one of his hands around to your lower back, pulling your body to the very edge of the counter and flush against his chest. The other hand stayed firmly on your hip, digging in just a little. You wrapped your arms around his neck even tighter as you molded your lips together. He licked your bottom lip slightly, asking for entrance, which you granted. He explored your mouth just a little bit before pulling back, breathless, and resting his forehead against yours.
“Well, that was, uh…” he spoke.
“Yeah,” you answered, breathless as well.
You held his gaze for another second before moving forward and kissing him once again. You pecked him sweetly, before mumbling against his lips.
“I’ll let you cook, as long as you let me clean up,” you laughed a little before connecting your lips again.
Chris let the kiss hang just a little longer than a peck before pulling back completely. He pecked your forehead quickly, before answering.
“No,” he said firmly, turning around and letting out a loud laugh, one you knew so well.
You laughed right back at him, watching him start to cook and shaking your head to yourself. How did you get so lucky?
WIP Wednesday! 7/7/2021
Here’s an excerpt from the first chapter of the yullen soulmate au that I’ve been teasing:
The lights flash on and off three times inside the tent.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Thank you for coming to tonight’s show. At this time, we ask that all guests be seated and remain seated for the duration of the show. Please, for the safety of our performers, no flash photography. The entire show you are going to see tonight is completely student run….” The announcer over the speaker system drones on. Kanda tunes it out till he hears, “Now please, enjoy the show!”
It’s quiet for just a second before loud brassy music starts to blast through the speakers. The lights swing wildly around the crowd and the three rings in the middle of the tent. A young man with elaborate makeup that even without being able to see colors, Kanda knows must be a nasty mash of the rainbow, comes running from the side entrance that leads to the backstage. He has a bejeweled microphone in hand that he raises to his lips. Kanda assumes he must be the ringleader.
“Hello everyone!” He says with overflowing enthusiasm. He jogs to the raised stage in the middle of the tent. “How’re we all doing tonight!?”
A raucous cheer erupts from the crowd.
“Ah, you guys can do better than that! I said, how’re we all doing tonight!?” The ringleader throws his arms up in the air and the crowd shouts again. Lenalee cups her hands around her mouth to add to the cheer. Kanda winces at the sounds. It’s grating as hell, and he’s always had sensitive hearing. The music swells and then the show really starts. Five performers in costumes in varying shades of gray come pouring out of the backstage entrance and run around the stage. A girl does several cartwheels, and one guy claps his hands in big motions over his head to the thumping beat of the music. In the left ring, they do some tumbling. Kanda finds it to be underwhelming (he can totally do all those flips and handstands too), instead he watches the stagehands set out a wire between two poles across the right ring of the tent.
“Alright, give a big applause for our amazing tumblers!” The ringleader shouts into the mic. “Next up, please welcome our spectacular tightrope walker!”
A twiggy guy comes out in a unisuit and a long pole and walks across the wire a few times. Kanda yawns – the whole thing would be a lot cooler if the pole or the wire was on fire. After the tightrope walker, its two muscular guys that swing on a trapeze and toss a small woman between them. That’s a bit more entertaining to Kanda. After the trapeze performers, it’s a guy and three girls doing some crazy stuff on a bike that he rides around and around the left ring. After them is a girl with a really large cat that she gets to jump through hoops. When the cat starts to wander off in the middle of their performance, Kanda snickers a little. The gray thing is so massive and fluffy, he’s sure it weighs twenty pounds.
“Give a round of applause for Amy and the spectacular Sasha the Cat!” The ringleader announces. The crowd roars around them. Kanda claps his hands lightly. Watching that girl chase after the big cat was pretty funny. “Now when you think of the circus, what is the thing that first comes to mind?”
“Stunts!” Someone in the crowd yells.
“Lions!” Another screams.
“Bearded women!” This one gets a chuckle from the crowd.
 “Those are all great answers!” The ringleader says. “When I think of the circus the first thing that comes to mind for me is clowns. And here we have our own clown, who’s going to do some crazy juggling for you guys!”
“Oh! That’s Allen! That’s Allen!” Lenalee slaps Kanda and Lavi’s arms excitedly. The people cheer as the spot lights swing over to the dark gray curtain blocking the backstage from the front.
“Ladies and gentlemen, he seems to be a bit shy, can we get a drumroll please!” The ringleader says before rhythmically slapping his thighs. The crowd mimics him by hitting their legs or stomping their feet on the metal bleachers. Kanda rolls his eyes. This kid is getting more buildup than even the trapeze trio did. He better be a damn good clown.
The curtains part and reveal pitch black behind them. And then a young man in a baggy costume comes running at top speed from the back. He does a cartwheel into three rapid backflips before landing nimbly in front of the middle stage, right in front of Kanda. He throws his arms up in the air with a wide grin on his face. And Kanda finds that he can’t look away. He has barely done anything, but he holds the audience’s attention captive like no other performer tonight has. He has a charisma that palpably ripples from him, like he was meant to perform.
“It’s Allen!” Lenalee screams, voice barely audible over the noise of the crowd. Allen turns to face the crowd on the left and then to the crowd on the right. And then when he spins back to face them, Kanda watches Allen’s performer’s grin turn to a more genuine smile when he spots Lenalee. That smile makes the corners of his eyes crinkle. Then those eyes slide from Lenalee and lock with Kanda’s and he sees that the blue makeup ringing his eyes is cracked where they crease at the corners.
Blue?
There’s blue makeup covering Allen’s eyelids out to his temple and up to his eyebrows. Then Kanda sees the red stripes on his clown costume start to bleed into his vision. Kanda rockets up out of his seat.
No. No. No.
Allen’s smile falters to one of confusion and concern as he holds Kanda’s stare. The colors fade into clarity slowly and then all at once. Like when someone turns on the light after having sat in the dark for a long time, Kanda’s vision swims as he’s bombarded with pinks and yellows and greens and purples. The onslaught of reds and blues and oranges makes him dizzy. He vaguely feels a hand on his forearm, but everything has faded away except for the colors and Allen’s face. He doesn’t hear anything, he doesn’t feel anything. And then the colors swallow up his vision into black and Kanda passes out.
Part Two
Tumblr media
“He does things his own way and has climbed the ranks with lightening fast speed! In the number two spot! Winged Hero: Hawks!”
The crowd erupted in applause as the red suites hero approached the stage to stand beside his fellow heroes. The smell of delicious food, and expensive champagne filled the sensitive mans nose. As for having a bird-like quirk, the blonde had a very keen sense of smell and sight. The only thing he was focused on at the moment was the young woman sitting by herself at the table reserved for him and the other top three heroes. Her skinny arms were raised in a small quiet clap to appraise him. He smirked to himself and put his hands behind his neck, flaunting his vibrant red wings out to make himself stand out. It was impossible to miss his presence due to his powerful quirk. The announcer finished introducing the top 5 heroes supporting the charity event Hawks was currently at. Once the heroes were dismissed, he rose to the air and made a straight B-line for the woman at the table.
“Hey dove.” He called out to her, making the beautiful young woman flinch harshly and jerk around to greet him. He landed softly in front of her while people stared in awe at his large wings and glowing aura. This was the popularity of one of the top 3 heroes. He opened his arms, initiating a hug, but before he even got his arms up, she was already in his arms hugging him. His honey-colored eyes glistened and glowed with an unknown emotion. His strong arms wrapped around her, his hot breath ghosting over her ear. “Good girl. I’m proud of you.” His husky voice was suggestive and poisoned with lust. The girl in his arms shook slightly, slowly nodded her head in acknowledgment to his words. When he pulled away, his pupils constricted once he laid eyes upon a couple people staring. “Let’s go somewhere more private. So I can reward you properly.”
His voice was no longer warm and goofy. It was cold and harsh, demanding the woman in his arms to come with him immediately. She clung to his order and quickly latched onto his arm. His pupils dilated back to their normal size and he grinned cheekily walking through the crowd. “Leaving already Hawks? It’s barely just begun.” The number two hero stopped in his tracks hearing the voice of the man he admired every since he saved him. He turned his head around, the diamond studs in his ears sparkling under the bright lights. “Ah, Endeavor!” Hawks turned around and moved his hand down to tightly hold the mysterious woman by the waist. She kept her head down in Endeavors presence. The Flame hero was a clever man, and immediately, he could tell there was something odd about their relationship. “Oh! Endeavor! I’d like to introduce you to my beautiful dove, (Y/N).”
It was quick, but the woman’s head jerked up quickly, and her panicked (E/C) eyes could’ve been perceived as embarrassment, but Endeavor could clearly tell it was not that. It was fear. ‘There’s something off about her. Is it me?’ “I-It’s nice to meet you... M-Mr. Todoroki. H-Hawks is a huge fan. I-I really admire your work too... you’re a v-very respectable hero...” The red-haired man came to the conclusion that she was just shy. He couldn’t have been more wrong. Hawks carelessly flopped his arm around his lovers shoulder, tightly squeezing it with all the force he could. The woman now known as (Y/N) flinched feeling his tight grip. “I-I’m sorry! Please excuse me! I’m going to get some drinks! I-I’ll bring you some Hawks!” In the blink of an eye she was gone through the crowd, rushing towards the refreshment table. A sharp barbed feather glided across the floor unseen and jabbed into the frightened girls leg. Luckily, her dress covered it and her hair was down to cover up the frightened and pained face she was making.
“A good one isn’t she? Sorry about that! She’s a bit shy! She only likes me! That’s why we’re trynna leave so soon! I thought I’d make an appearance and earn some money for whatever this is for and head home!” Hawks boasted and flexed his wings a bit, showing off his alpha-like nature. Endeavor hummed in suspicion, looking for the girl to come back. This didn’t help the growing possessiveness inside the number two hero. His wings fluffed up wildly and his pupils contricted sharply in a threatening manner. He could feel the warm blood running down his unattached barbed feather, making his legs quiver. What a lovely feeling. “What’s with the look man? Don’t think I can land such a hottie? I’ll have you know I’ve been with plenty of smokin’ chicks. And not chickens!” His fake cheerful laugh interrupted Endeavor’s thoughts. He scowled a bit. “How exactly did you two meet? I’ve never seen her with you at one of these things.”
“We’ve been dating for about a year now. We met at my agency actually. She was looking for a job. Later I courted her and told her I would work and she wouldn’t ever have to raise a hand in the work force again!” Endeavor narrowed his eyes. ‘There’s no way anyone would willingly want to stay cooped up inside a house the whole time... he’s hiding something. It’s unlike him to be so defensive.’ Just in time, (Y/N) returned and handed Hawks his drink, lowering her head once again, refusing to make eye contact with either of them. Endeavor huffed and offered his hand out for her to take, a test of some sorts. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” The girl refused to take his hand. She kept her head lowered and clung herself to Hawks. Usually, Hawks would just laugh and make a joke for her not to be scared, but Endeavor was surprised to see Hawks holding her tightly and looking at her blankly. ‘Something’s off.’
“We’re going to head home then.” Hawks spoke suddenly, rubbing his lovers back with a small sincere smile. He downed the expensive champagne and set it on a random table. He kissed her head and moved his wings to block her from anyone else’s view. A crimson feather came from the floor and reattached to his large set of feathered wings. Unnoticed by everyone. “I don’t want to make my beautiful angel uncomfortable. See ya later Endeavor! Let’s go out sometime for some Yakitori soon! Okay?” He ushered her quickly away from the scene where the number one hero just stood there. He watched them go, his gut demanding him to follow them, that something was off, that something sinister was right in front of him. It couldn’t possibly be Hawks.
‘I’m probably just imagining things. But next time we meet, I’ll definitely get to the bottom of whatever is going on.’
“I’m proud of you, dove. You did so well tonight.” Hawks praised his lover once they reached the security of his top level pent house suite. His eyes seemed to glow in the dim light cascading over the room from the moon. His hands twitched in anticipation seeing his beautiful angel standing before him, now completely undressed, patiently waiting for his orders. “I would like to reward you, buuuuut you got a bit too talkitive with Endeavor back there... guess I gotta punish you just a little.” It was quick, but the winged hero harshly pushed against the back of her knees and made her kneel harshly in front of him. His ungloved hand made contact with her hair, entangling his rough fingers within and yanking upwards harshly, forcing the terrified girl to look at him. “You should only say stuff like that to me. ME. Got it?”
She nodded frantically, tears building within her large (E/C) eyes. Flurries of apologies burst through her lips and onto his deaf ears. He thought actions spoke louder than words. Her next actions would determine if the punishment needed to go further or not. Over the past year, it had been his goal to break her mind into being his obedient little pet. He had taken her out to his office only a couple times, but when she ran and pleaded for help from one of his sidekicks, his “training” became more intense. The pain became too much for her malnourished and fragile body to handle. Her mind slowly began to crack. “You know I don’t accept apologies that way my beautiful dove. Use that mouth for something else other than talking.” She knew what he was implying, and hastily began to unbuckle his belt.
His training paid off. He was in complete and total control over this woman. HIS woman. His lips spread into a sadistic grin and he let out a throaty chuckle, sighing in pure amazement at how well he had done. “Look at you, desperately wanting to suck my cock for my forgiveness. I’ve trained you quite well haven’t I angel?” He pulled back a little bit to plop on the couch, watching with lustful eyes as the woman of his dreams quickly followed after him on her knees and got between his legs. She nodded anxiously and fearfully, worried that if she took too long to respond, he would go through another “training” session with her. “Hmm... hey... remind me again what I did last time to make you mind so easily. I tried out a bunch of different methods than last time. I just wanna know... what works best for you angel.”
He reached down and grabbed her hands to stop her from continuing, waiting for her answer to his question. He already knew the answer, he was only testing to see if she remembered what punishment he gave her last time she went against the rules. “You uhm...” She stuttered, trying her hardest to remember the punishment she was given last time. Over the year, he had given her hundreds of punishments, and over 50 “training” sessions. There was a large difference between Hawks’ punishments and training sessions. Punishments would only last a little while, maybe a few hours. But training sessions lasted days, even weeks. She had to remember all of the rules he had set in place for her, or else she would be punished and go through the same session again and again until she never forgot.
Rule 16. Tell Hawks “I love you” every day
Rule 17. Call Hawks if someone touches you.
And the list went on, and on, and on, and on. The rules were hammered into her brain for days. Morning time, Hawks would take his feathers and penetrate the skin on her back, making her repeat the rules every time a feather pierced her now scarred skin. Then make her repeat it again when he pulled them out. While she was home alone, he tasked her with writing down the rule over 100 times to make sure she got it. Then we he came home, he would review her work, demand her to tell him the rule, and depending on that, he may let her eat and sleep. Everyone looked at Hawks as the friendly, carefree, boisterous, and fun pro-hero. However, (Y/N) knew the dark side of him. The possessive side of him that refused to let her go, let her speak to anyone else but him, anything really. Everything had to be him.
She snapped out of her gruesome thoughts of her last training session and shakily looked back up to see Hawks patiently waiting for her answer. “You... p-put your feather... through m-my tongue... b-because I s-said... I felt b-bad for... B-Best J-Jeanist...” He nodded and scratched the stubble on his chin. His lower lip stuck out and he smirked. “Ah! Now I remember perfectly... the taste of your blood when I kissed you felt so good. Should I do it again? I’m feeling pretty punishy today.” (Y/N)‘s face drained color immediately and she hastily began to unbuckle Hawks’s belt, hopeful he would forgive her.
Rule 41. Blow Jobs for forgiveness.
“Looks like I burned that rule right into that pretty head of yours huh? They always say I’m too fast for my own good... what do you think dove?” His sinister yet carefree grin unnerved her and she shivered harshly under his gaze. She didn’t know how to respond. After being with him for a year, she was still wary of his mood swings. He could be so friendly and nonchalant the first minute and the next he’s cruel and cold. What answer was best? “I.... I think you’re perfect just the way you are Hawks... fast or not... y-you are... perfect.” That was a good answer. She inwardly applauded herself for coming up with such a great answer. Hopefully he would punish her less right? “Perfect huh? You always know how to make my heart flutter don’t cha dove? But I’m not letting you off that easily.”
Her body stiffened.
“Don’t think I haven’t noticed the way you behave around me. It’s quite suspicious. Even Endeavor back there was gettin’ a little too curious about our relationship.” Her hands halted, his pants now loosely hanging from his hips, his arousal clearly evident by the bulge in his grey boxers and the slight stain from his sticky pre-cum. She regretted the moment she looked up to look into his golden eyes. His pupils were slit, and he wore a grin, a crazily sinister glint within those once warm eyes. “It’s startin’ to piss me off a bit ya know? It hurts my feelings my baby bird isn’t being honest with me. After everything I’ve done?” He laughed and spread his large wings out, towering over her and blocking her only heavenly source of light. Her gaze was locked on the only thing she could see.
Those horrific glimmering eyes of his.
“No I want you to be honest and tell me everything you’re feeling right now.” Suddenly, a hand forced its way onto her throat. The unexpected movement knocked the breath from her lungs, and the restricted force placed around her windpipe only made it harder. Her mouth shakily began to open, but closed immediately, fresh hot and salty tears already beginning to stream down her already dampened cheeks. “What? Don’t wanna be honest with me baby? I thought you would’ve remembered that rule...” He pouted in disapproval. In a sudden flurry of panic and fear, she pushed his hand away, stunning him into silence as she recited the rule. “Rule 21! Always be honest! Rule 6! Hawks will always protect me! A-And rule 5! Hawks will always love me! Rule 27! Everything Hawks does is for me! And I’m always grateful! Rule-“
“Woah there tiger! Didn’t need ya to tell me every little thing. But I’m glad you remember so much. I’m honestly impressed.” His wings retreated against his back, and he raised his bare hands up to softly pet her hair. His precious dove lowered her head slowly, accepting his praise silently. “But you still aren’t being honest with me. I want you to tell me how scared I make you. How you’re so scared about what I might do that you’ll never leave. That you’ll always be beside me!” His voice was getting desperate, and the way his ash blonde eyebrows furrowed showed her his frustration was seeping through. She shakily exhaled, heart pounding harshly against her chest. “I... u-understand... your want to k-keep me here... you’re... l-lonely... and mentally exhausted... I... love you Keigo... I just... don’t... like how... you hurt me... that... terrifies me.”
His pupils shrunk hearing his first name come from her lips. He searched deeply for any lingering signs of dishonesty, but found none. What she said was genuine. She was scared of being hurt by him, but knew deep down how fucked up his life had been despite being such a popular hero. Having to play double agent, keep up two different personas and stress about not getting found out by the other organization. “...Rule 5.” He said sternly. His voice was cold and void of emotion, which was strange and unnatural for the usually bubbly winged-hero. Blonde bangs covered his honey colored eyes, hiding the truth from her. (Y/N) flinched and quickly recited the rule. “Rule 5... H-Hawks will always love me.” A smirk stretched across his face, and he raised his head up, his eyes shimmering with possessiveness and greed. A red glint shined within those bird-like eyes, and he grabbed her hands, placing them on his hips again. “Please me. Pleasure the fuck out of me dove. Do good... and I might let you go out tomorrow —with a feather of course.”
All of a sudden her mood lifted, and she smiled widely at his proposal. “R-Really? Y-You mean it Keigo...?” He gave her a lopsided grin and nodded his head confidently. His wings spread while he laid back against the sofa, comfortably adjusting himself so he could get a perfect view of his little lover. His avian eyes watched carefully as her delicate hands moved over his pants, pulling them down just a bit. The large H on his belt hung loosely to the side, making the belt a bit heavy. Hawks deployed his feathers to make his wings smaller and slipped his jacket off, only being left in his tight fitting shirt with gold accent lines and a diamond. His wings came back to life quickly, slightly fluttered as he got them reattached. “Your... wings are very... large and b-beautiful.”
“They’re all for you baby bird.” He commented flirtatiously. His eyelashes were exceptionally long, and those dark markings near his eyes made his eyes only pop and glow in the moonlight. His large wings created long and intimidating shadows, shaking up his forced lover. She shook her head quickly and focused her attention back on the task at hand. Her cool fingers slid across the fabric of his boxers, a heavy blush settling on her face. She leaned closer to his hips, her (H/C) hair falling to rest against the top of his clothed thighs. (E/C) eyes looking up innocently to see what reaction his smooth face held. He was watching intently, his stern eyes demanding her to continue. Her throat bobbed slowly and she gently pulled down his boxers, clenching his loose pants in embarrassment watching his arousal slap against his abdomen.
“Ahh... come on baby, don’t tease me like this. Hurry up and swallow my worm birdie.” He cooed, throwing a very gross sounding bird pun in. A shiver crawls up her spine sharply, her brain finally taking back control of her fingers. The smooth skin of her fingers folded over his steamy cock, running along the vien on his underside. In the background she saw his bare hands clenching the cushions of the couch tightly, his forearm stiff. He was restraining himself, and clearly it wasn’t working too well if he had to go through all that. “Stop. Fucking teasing me.” He ordered in a raspy hoarse voice, struggling to even get a sentence out. His cock twitched in her smooth hands, aching and throbbing, begging to be touched and engulfed by something warm and tight.
(Y/N) closed her eyes and leaned forwards, pressing her lips gently against the head, before her tongue slid over the vein and she took him into her mouth. “Hah... fuck, deeper.” The hand previously on the couch came to tangle into her once beautifully curled hair. His reluctant lover flinched and squeezed her eyes shut tighter, letting his hand guide her. His nails dug into her scalp, some of her hair being pulled out by the roots at his strong grip. There was a very arousing wet sound bursting into both their ears from the activity both adults engaged in. The pro hero had his head on the back cushions, panting heavily with his wings tightly folded against his back occasionally twitching and shivering. “Fuck, fuck, fuck. Yeah... just like that dove. Hah fuck, your mouth is so damn amazing! Haha! You can take me all in can’t ya? Argh... only one way to find out right?”
The girls eyes widened in horror and the hero slammed his impressive length down her throat, his strong hands pushing on her head as hard as he could. “Ugh! I feel yer teeth! Open that beautiful mouth wider for me dove!” Her mouth was at its limit. Her jaw was aching, her throat being stretched, her nose buried within the curly mess of musky smelling hair near his V-line. Her eyes burned with tears, head throbbing, pussy dripping with fluids, her lungs clawing at any ounce of oxygen they could find. She was incredibly lucky she got over her gag reflex early on into their “relationship.” He jerked her head back, her nostrils stretching to catch even a small amount of air to satisfy her lungs, only to be slammed back down repeatedly. “Didn’t- Ngh!- know you could go this deep! Fuck! Haha, you’re gonna make me c-cum soon~”
His calloused hands from years of hard work shoved her head back and forth wildly, refusing to stop his relentless face-fucking. His movements increased, and his panting and moaning had only gotten louder. “Ahh~ hah! Yeah baby! Come on!” He sucked in a breath through clenched teeth and growled out lustfully. His husky voice shamefully making his baby bird’s love parts ooze with arousal. His keen nose could smell it from a mile away. Suddenly a soft feather came under the woman on her knees, harshly rubbing against her sensitive clit. Two more came to push against her nipples with the softer part of the feathers. “That’s it b-baby! Ahh yeah you dirty little slut~ getting wet while sucking me off~ haha! Agh... yeah... lemme know when you’re close, I-I wanna cum in that pretty pink damn pussy. And it’s all mine. Ohh... it’s all mine.”
His low husky growls only made the sensations better. (Y/N) was now struggling to maintain the fast pace he forced on her. The adrenaline pumping through her veins with the only thought in her mind was not getting hurt, she pushed through. “Haha! Ohh~ you’re mine. Fucking mine...” He growled through grit teeth, his avian eyes glued to the sight of his cock disappearing into the mouth of the woman of his dreams. His eyes traveled just a bit south and caught a glimpse of his soft red feathers harshly grinding against her nipples, making her squirm in discomfort and desperation. “Nghh~ haha! Fuck! Fuck baby bird~ my cute dove~ my god damn angel... I’m gonna fucking cum. Hurry, hurry get on the couch.”
In a flash he shoved her head back, not even giving her a second to even breath before hoisting her up and slamming her down on the couch. His rough hands found her legs quickly, spreading them apart and getting between them. He hastily grabbed his hard cock and immediately shoved it inside her aching and unprepared womanhood. A flash of white hot pain shook her whole body. Her fingers were tingling and the breath was knocked from her lungs. He was a monster. Relentlessly moving himself in and out of her like she was some kind of toy. His play thing he could bend, break, use, and throw away whenever he pleased. But she was his favorite toy, his most prized possession. No matter how broken, or bent, or lost, it was his.
And he would kill anyone if he ever lost his precious treasure.
“Haha! Ohhh... oh, yeah. It’s been a while huh baby bird? You okay dove? You can take my cock soooo good can’t you~? Right?” His flirtatious groans echoed in the large space of his penthouse living room. His wings spread widely, fluttering slightly at all of the lewd attention his sweet sweet cock was getting. Squeezed so firmly by unprepared walls of squishy muscle, enveloped in a warm and comforting feeling of love. He couldn’t have been any happier at that moment. His lover on the other hand, “Y-Yes H-Hawks!” Her mouth was left hanging open, her eyebrows scrunched together tightly in pain. Her cheeks were painted with salty streaks that cascaded to her chin and left drops on the couch.
“No... hah, no Hawks. Say my name. My name that o-only you know.” He was setting her up to make himself lose control. They both knew that whenever (Y/N) would say Hawks’ real name, the bird-quirked hero would lose control and turn into a complete animal. The girl underneath the presumed hero could only sob in pain and fear, conflicted on what to do. Have her captor cum inside of her and possibly force her not to take plan B, or be brutally hurt for disobeying his orders. On the slim chance Hawks would let her take the pill afterwards, she succumbed. “K-Keigo! Keigo! Kei! Kei! Kei-.. g-go!!!”
“FUCK DOVE! Yeah say it more! Goddamnit! Fucking say my name! You’re m-mine! Ahh hah! My pretty bird! A-All... mine...” His large hands slid over her slim waist, malnourished from his constant punishments and paranoia if she gained too much strength she would attempt to rebel against him like she did when she first got here. She began to chant his name desperately, almost screaming at the top of her lungs to satisfy him. “Rule 5, 1, and 19. Say them.” He demanded, not faltering in his movements. His fierce golden eyes stared upon her, watching intently as he made her cute breasts bounce. Her body being shoved back and forth aggressively to satisfy his burning hunger. “Hawks will a-always love me!” She sobbed out, struggling to even get a sentence out. She opened her blurry eyes to look at him, biting her lip harshly to stop crying. “I-I will always love Hawks! And we will do a-anything for each o-other!! Keigo please! Please!”
“Good girl! Fuck! I’m gonna cum dove!” His screwed up mind perceived her pleas as a sign for him to push her over and make her reach her euphoric orgasm. In reality, she was begging for him to stop. Stop his assault, stop his forceful touches. She could practically feel her body shutting down. Her heart and mind mentally checking out. Her emotions become hard and stone-like. Death would be better then spending another second with this man above her. She flinched feeling something warm flood about inside of her, ears barely picking up on the breathy gasp that came from the number two hero as he finished himself off. Her mind began to wander back to how all this even came to be.
So naive.
So stupid.
So blind to the true nature of the number two hero, Hawks.
Her eyes slowly fluttered closed, feigning being asleep in hopes she could escape to another world. Alas, that world faded the moment he opened his mouth and took away all her concentration. “Wore out already, huh? Guess I need to feed ya more, dove.” She was lifted into the strong hero’s arms, carried carefully back to his bedroom like she was the most fragile thing in the world. She knew of the pro hero’s past, how lonely he was. Even though she hated him to the core for everything he’s done to her, she couldn’t help but pity him. “But you know I can’t feed you too much or you’ll try to leave me again. You remember, baby?”
No response.
He sighed blissfully and leaned close to her, gently brushing her hair out of the way and listening to her soft breathing. “So fucking beautiful. You still manage to take my breath away. I trained you quite nicely. You behave so well... I couldn’t ask for a better girl. Although... when I first saw you I knew you had to be mine.” She tensed under his calloused fingers smoothing over her face. He knew she was awake. He wasn’t an idiot. “Rest baby bird. My sweet... sweet fucking dove. You mean the world to me. And I would kill. Anyone. That would try to take you away from me.” He smirked and pressed a kiss to her head. She slowly opened her eyes to look at him, seeing his warm smile full of genuine love. “Your eyes are so beautiful, (Y/N). Everything about you I love but your eyes... they’re your most beautiful feature.”
“...thank you, Keigo.” She whispered. He chuckled and crawled into bed beside her, pulling her body close to his. Large red wings spread widely, slowly coming down to cover them both as protection, and reassurance that his precious angel wouldn’t escape. She moved close to his chest, wrapping her arms around him and burying her face into his bare chest. “Rest. You’ve got a busy day tomorrow, going out on your own without me. You must be excited.” He always gave her these fishy questions. It was like he was testing her to examine her commitment to him. She swallowed a little and smiled. “A-A little... I’m g-going to buy groceries, ch-chicken, your coffee... a-and some p-plan-B...”
“Still weary of barring my chicks? That’s alright. It’ll all change soon dove. Once I achieve my dream, I’ll take you far away, start our family, and marry you.” He smirked down at her sleepy state. His large hands combing through her soft (H/C) hair. ‘Maybe we can start over, and you can love me without being forced.’ He thought to himself. I’m honesty, he disliked hurting her, but he couldn’t control his rage sometimes. In his childhood, all he had was an Endeavor toy. His favorite toy. Now he had (Y/N), and she was his new favorite toy, his treasure really. He needed to hold on with a death grip and not let her go. Not let go of the only good thing going for him at the moment. “That sounds n-nice... I-I’m sorry I’m v-very tired... g-goodnight Keigo... I-I love you.”
“I love you too.” He kisses her head. “Just don’t forget the rules while you’re out.”
The Ranger's Apprentice Holiday Special: Chapter Three!!! O, Holy Night, Gilan's for Jenny Pining (Halt's probably pining for Pauline too)
Everyone in Castle Redmont, from the visiting monarch to the orphans from the Ward, settled down in the great hall. At the far end of the room, a stage had been erected, festooned liberally with garlands. A hush fell over the crowd as George shuffled out onto the stage, tripping over a painted sheep.
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,” he said, staring over the crowd apprehensively. “It is my honor to present this year’s Nativity Play, performed by upstanding young members of the community.”
“This should be fun,” said King Duncan from where he was sitting on the dais of honor with Baron Arald, Lady Sandra, Cassandra, Pauline, and Sir Rodney.
“I’m sure,” Arald said. “Have some cookies?”
“Where’s Halt and Crowley?” Pauline asked, looking around with an odd expression on her face.
“I’m not sure,” Arald replied.
“Be quiet, everyone,” Cassandra whispered. “The show is starting.”
George retreated, relieved that his part was done but very, very, nervous. Jenny walked out from the wings, wearing one of Alyss’s white Courier dresses and a blue shawl.
“Isn’t she adorable?” Sandra whispered.
“HAIL MARY!” Gilan leaped out onto the stage, brandishing his sword, wearing a nightshirt and a pair of enormous wings. The entire crowd jumped in their seats.
Jenny screamed, “Oh, what is this? A beautiful angel, visiting me?”
“Be not afraid,” Gilan said, smiling down at her beatifically and preening his wings slightly. “The Lord is with you. He has chosen you to bear His Son.”
“But how can this be?” Jenny asked, brushing her shawl out of her face. “I am a virgin.”
“Don’t worry,” Gilan said. There was a pause. Gilan glanced at Jenny nervously. “I forgot my line,” he whispered.
“You silly boy,” Jenny giggled, then composed herself. “I am the Lord’s servant.”
The scene ended. “Mary made the incredible desserts,” Arald said. “I mean, Jenny did.”
“She’s better at baking than acting,” Cassandra said.
“Quiet,” Duncan said, enjoying a ginger snap.
Will, swathed in Arald’s hunting cloak - “I wondered where that got to,” Arald mused - lay on the ground, snoring as convincingly as he could. Gilan leaped onto the stage, trying to flutter his wings.
“Joseph,” he said, “Don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife even though she’s pregnant. She is carrying the Lord’s child. You will call Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Will sat up. “Wow, I dreamed about an angel,” he said, rubbing his eyes.
“Don’t ad lib like that,” George moaned from offstage.
The scene changed again. Will hoisted Jenny up onto Tug who was wearing large ears meant to make him look more donkey-like. He led them across the stage. “To Bethlehem,” he said.
“Hold your applause until the end,” Tug said, looking very smug to Will.
“Show off,” he muttered.
“I think Will’s talking to his horse again,” said Cassandra.
Gilan stepped onto the stage as the couple settled themselves at the manger. “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and laid him in a manger, for there was no room for them at the inn.”
“That’s the most disgraceful part of the story,” Sandra told her husband disapprovingly. “Arald, never turn away a pregnant woman.”
“You know I wouldn’t, my love!” Arald said, alarmed.
Alyss and Horace entered, wearing Gilan and Will’s ranger cloaks and sheepskins, holding sticks. They sat down with several flat, wooden sheep.
Gilan reappeared, waving his sword wildly. Alyss gasped, her hand to her mouth. Horace screamed, causing Sir Rodney to put his fingers in his ears.
“The boy’s got pipes,” he said, checking to make sure his ears weren’t bleeding.
“Be not afraid,” Gilan boomed, looming over the two shepherds like a tall, white-clothed bird of doom. “For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will be to all people, for unto you is born this day, in the City of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign unto you…” he paused, drawing a blank. He glanced over to Jenny. “You will find…a very pretty girl…with a baby…in a manger. Yeah. Now go!”
At this, he waved his sword dangerously close to Horace’s nose, who screamed again. Gilan roared with what could be called a singing voice: “Glooooooooooooooooooooria, in excelsis Deo!!!! then pirouetted off the stage, tripping over his robe.
“Why did I cast him?” George cried, from the wings where he had been watching in horror. “Why?”
Alyss leaped up. “Let us go to Bethlehem, and find the child the angel has told us about!” she said, tugging at Horace’s hand.
“She’s so talented,” Pauline said, smiling proudly.
“Let’s go!” said Horace, waving his hands in what he thought must be a theatrical gesture. The two of them hurried over to where Will and Jenny were sitting with one of the Ward girl’s dolls, wrapped up. They bowed reverently.
“Is it over?” Duncan asked, then realized that the company was singing, Will whipping out his mandola and strumming a tune. Gilan reappeared on the stage to loom over the manger, his sword raised rather menacingly, Arald thought.
“Silent night, holy, night,” he warbled.
“All is calm, all is bright,” Alyss sang, gazing in wonder upon the scene.
“Round yon virgin, mother and child,” Jenny trilled, cradling the baby Jesus with maternal affection.
“Holy infant, so tender and mild,” Horace sang, in a surprisingly pleasing tenor.
“Sleep in heavenly peace,” Will chimed in, strumming his mandola with rather more gusto than was necessary for Silent Night.
“Sleep in heavenly peace,” boomed Gilan, drowning everyone out.
Everyone bowed. Arald and Sandra leaped to their feet, clapping profusely. “Bravo, Bravo!” Arald shouted.
“What a charming production,” Pauline said, standing as well.
“Horace and Will did amazing!” Cassandra said. “Especially Horace.”
“What a talented horse!” Duncan said enthusiastically. He played the role of a donkey flawlessly.”
The king himself acknowledges my talent, Tug told Will. I expect many apples of appreciation.
“You’ll get your apples,” Will said, pulling off his horse’s ears.
“Good show, everyone,” George said weakly, stumbling off and downing a cup of hot chocolate from the snack table.
Gilan took Jenny’s hand. “You were radiant!” he said. Jenny beamed.
Will looked around. “Where’s Halt?” he asked anxiously. He had hoped that his mentor would be there, but maybe he had stayed away like he had all week.
“I suppose he didn’t come,” Pauline said, from where she was standing with Alyss. “He doesn’t like Christmas much since…” she sounded distant.
“Clear the way, clear the way, Rangers coming through,” called Crowley, moving through the crowd, Halt behind him.
“You did come!” Will said gleefully. “Did you like the show?”
“It certainly…was a show,” Halt said, looking like he was restraining many, many words.
“Performance of the century!” Crowley enthused, slapping Gilan on the back. “I didn’t know you boys were performers.”
“Well, George needed somebody,” Will said bashfully.
“You were amazing, Horace,” Cassandra told the tall knight. He shrugged, noticing that the princess’ eyes were glowing in a way he had never seen them before. “I could never be on stage like that.”
“If I’m being honest,” Horace said, relaxing now that everything was over, “I didn’t like doing it much. It was a bit intimidating.”
“I completely understand,” she said, smiling. “But considering that, it was great that you stepped in to help!”
Horace felt warm and contented inside, like he had just eaten a wonderful meal.
Please Hate Me //part 48
Fandom: Marvel
Summary: Based on: “Imagine having a love/hate relationship with Loki.” by @thefandomimagine Who would have thought that babysitting a god could be so much fun?
Genre: slow-burn, enemies to lovers, banter, smut
Tumblr media
Being the friendly neighborhood Spiderman always gave Peter a sense of pride and purpose, even if he could only share it openly with a few people. It was the kind of accomplishment that made all the hardships seem worth it in the end. It also made him happy in a way he couldn't really explain, but which involved a certain connection between him and the people he protected and got familiar with over the course of his superhero patrols.
But being the friendly neighborhood Spiderman was difficult in a neighborhood where no one was actually friendly in return.
Peter’s frown grew the further into the building he went. He was pretty sure it was the same one Loki and you had been renting an apartment in, and since he was a rather frequent guest, the neighbours should recognize him by now enough to at least return his greetings.
That was what logic dictated, but Peter was pretty certain the people he met in the hallway only gave him a stern, disapproving look before walking past him quickly.
Peter was still frowning when he moved up the stairs, juggling the keys in his hand. Then he stopped. The unearthly screams of the damned were muffled, but most definitely coming from apartment number 13.
Opening the door quietly, he slid into the familiar interior, now echoing with pain and suffering so loud, Peter had to cover his ears just enough to move to the root of all evil  - the bathroom.
There were many inexplicable things Peter had witnessed happening in the apartment 13, and to some extent he got used to the thrill of not knowing what he'd face next time he paid a visit. Still, he hadn't expected to see various parts of a half-drowned owl sticking out of the sink filled thick with foam and bubbles. The owl must've struggled a lot, judging by the amount of water splashed on every possible surface, and the iron grip you and Loki still kept on the bird. Even if Loki was not wearing his usual features, it was still obvious who your partner in crime was.
The two of you froze. Soap and foam dripped to the floor. Loki's new form shimmered with a glamour only magic could achieve.
"Um, what are you guys doing?" Peter asked.
"Trying a new disguise?" The curtain of Loki's new long hair was luscious and utterly drenched.
"No, I meant-"
"Listen, boy, as surprising as it might be for you, I'm still me, just with a less… criminally wanted image."
"Yeah, only if 'ME' stands for mischief embodied," you laughed.
"It literally doesn't. It's smooth, but it doesn't."
"Thank you, love. Now, could you please stop drowning poor Barbara?"
Loki sighed, but relaxed his grip on the bird just enough to allow it to peak its head out from under the surface and take a deep, long breath.
Peter put his backpack down and meandered closer, dodging the growing puddles. "Why is there an owl in the sink?"
"Because I'm not allowing any fleas into my house," you firmly stated, pushing the wings back under the water. "And I don't care how many hours we'll spend here, I'm getting all the mud and dirt out."
Barbara clung to her dirt with all her might, but was overpowered and utterly misunderstood. Loki's new form was slimmer, but held the bird with his usual strength and a big dose of satisfaction. The smirk on his face was unchanged, even if the features were new.
"What do you need a disguise for anyway?" Peter asked, looking for a towel. "Can I go with you?"
"I'm afraid that as wildly chaotic and lawless as our destination is, you'd still be age-checked," Loki cooled his enthusiasm.
Barbara rushed to the towel and clung to it, loudly exclaiming what, precisely, she thought about her caretakers. Peter tried to dry her up as best as he could through her wriggling and screams.
"Are you sure all this soap is good for her? Did you use any animal-friendly shampoo?"
Loki shrugged. "I doubt she can get any more dead."
The boy looked at the owl. The owl looked at the boy. The ruffled and drenched feathers were sticking out in all directions, uncovering a deep and no doubt fatal hole in her side.
"You got a dead owl…?"
"It was not my idea," Loki groaned, casting the bird a disgusted stare in the mirror where he tried to change the shape of his eyebrows.
"You're just angry because she likes me more," you laughed while mopping the floor.
Peter did his best to become invisible and not stare too openly at the ribs poking out of the feathers. Barbara puffed them every time he moved the towel around. The boy couldn't speak owlish, but the small, crittering noises she made were definitely far from happy.
"Where will you be going?" Peter asked. The owl sat on his knees and refused to move even after he finished drying her on the couch.
"To the largest casino on the Moon."
"Wait- There are casinos up there?"
"Not for kids your age," Loki said.
Peter slumped on the couch. "That's not fair."
"We'll be back before you notice." You threw the wet rag to the sink. "Of course, as long as a certain someone FINALLY decides what to wear."
Loki ignored your pointed look, too busy with changing his hair color. No matter how many little details he changed, he still struggled with finding a form he was sure would allow him to pass through the guards unnoticed and unrecognized. It was a shame he couldn't use his own - it felt like a waste to hide a face like his.
The owl settled on Peter's shoulder, immobilizing him with the claws buried in his skin. But even from the couch, the boy could see the remnants of a hurricane that had thrown a rather alarming amount of clothes around the apartment.
"I thought these were yours," he admitted. The owl kept on looking through his hair with the utmost scrutiny and very little gentleness.
"I've settled long ago on what I'm going to wear. As for the diva himself, though…" you gestured around.
"I need it to be perfect," Loki said. "I have an important role to play, I can't just waltz in there and be recognized."
"You could go blond," Peter suggested.
"Ew, I don't want to look anything like my brother- Wait, that's actually a great idea."
Before any of you managed to protest, a full-grown Thor stood in Loki's place, watching himself from all angles in the mirror. The clothes no longer fit, so he dropped them and dove into the closet again.
"...what have I done?"
You patted Peter's free shoulder. Barbara nested in the crook of his neck. "Nothing they can prove. Hopefully."
*
"I am not my father's servant," not-Thor downed another beer. "And if I want to relax for just one evening, I shall!"
The tankard broke into tiny pieces as he smashed it on the ground. The loud applause and waves of laughter followed the very Thor-like outburst, making Loki relieved he was playing his role well. Even in a place like this, crowded with drunkards and gamblers from all over the universe, it was common knowledge what the god of thunder enjoyed.
Loki forced his glamoured face to remain cheerful as another tankard of beer had been brought to him, disgustingly sour and rough. He knew his brother well, and was sure he'd love it, but Loki himself would rather bite off his tongue than willingly digest any more if only he had an actual choice. He didn't, and therefore swallowed another gulp to the cheering from the crowds gathered at his table. The cards had been laid out, waiting for the victors to celebrate their success, and the rest to decide how much more money they were willing to lose to the god of thunder.
Seated in a great hall of marble and gold, Loki wished he could play the way he actually wanted to, which was the very same way that got him banned from the Moon last time he had visited. But for the sake of the mission, he stayed just above the line between bankrupting and winning money, which added to the body he was wearing, was just big enough temptation to keep his table busy.
Everyone entering the biggest casino on the Moon was inclined to try their luck, or at least take a quick look. It was a perfect, if rather boring, way of scanning everyone who entered the rich complex of buildings. The few fountains set further in the back murmured as they shot curtains of water. The air was thick and warm, making crowds of people inevitably gravitate towards them in search of any cold. With the tall, lush plants artistically winding over and between the pillars, it created little areas dotting the impossibly high hall, where the pleasant breeze gathered the people looking for just a moment of relief. You occupied a spot beneath the fountains, where most people would wind up going to at some point, and used it as a second checkpoint, just in case anyone missed Loki's, or rather his brother's table.
"Come on, does anyone else want to lose their fingers?" Loki heard you call out to the crowds.
Between their never ending sessions of losing and winning the money back just to lose them again, there were many individuals in need of a drink and a quick break from the gambling. How easy it was to grab their attention with a loud voice and a dead owl.
Loki stretched his neck and looked over to where you had sat down the bird with all kinds of currency piled between its claws and a single coin shining through the open ribcage.
"All you need is to get the coin out, what's the matter, people? Is there no one brave enough to win all this money?"
Greed has always been a major deciding factor for the living beings regardless of race and the world of origin. The queue only rose in length as everyone wanted to try their luck.
The table under Barbara grew more and more slick with blood from cut and bitten fingers. Pure malice shone in her dead eyes.
"What an awful creature," Loki muttered to himself.
He could sense the stolen pin somewhere in the vicinity, but the casino was a loud and chaotic place, with multiple areas each centered around a different type of entertainment. More than an hour had already passed, but whoever was currently holding onto the pin, had not yet ventured anywhere near.
The two of you were slowly but inevitably running out of time. Odin might've been old and naive, but his spies' eyes reached far and wide. Loki had little doubt he would be interested in his favourite son's apparent evening fun, especially if he had that particular son with him, in the palace. Thor was a good cover, but not for much longer.
And then, by chance or a generous turn of fate, the shadows stirred and whispered.
Loki cast the dice, not paying attention whether he'd won or lost. His money wasn't real anyway.
There - by the high palms stood the Hoarders, clad in the worn out rags and way too much jewelry. With their grey skin and long limbs, it was no wonder how easily they blended in with the shadows, using their skills to warp their surroundings and get in places others would consider highly secure. But their success was not measured in how many places they were capable of breaking in themselves, but rather how many individuals of all races they could easily befriend and bend to their will. Although, to be quite honest, Loki doubted the necromancer had needed much convincing.
There were only three of them, each almost an identical copy of the others, but the Hoarders were encircled by both their partners for the evening and whatever scum tried to befriend them. That made it so much harder to approach them, but Loki was already thinking of a good excuse when he rose from his seat. People parted, giving him space - much more that would be granted to Loki's original form.
The shadows whispered again. One of the ladies separated from the group, with an annoyed expression on her face.
Loki stretched, making sure to put his hands high. Once he caught your attention, he followed the lady at a leisurely pace.
"What do we do?" You asked once both of you entered the corridor and disappeared behind the corner.
"She's got the pin."
One more turn took you in front of the ladies restroom.
"Time for Plan C.” Loki began undressing quickly.
Holding a spare dress in your bottomless pocket was not the wisest choice, but it apparently paid off, even if fishing it out took you a moment. Your hands shook. Someone might have walked in on you at any time. While Loki would be doing whatever it took to get the pin back, you would be the one making sure no one interrupted him…
Like distracting the waiter that was now staring at both of you. Focused on the contents of your pocket, you hadn’t even noticed him approaching. Loki clad in only Thor's skin, blinked.
The waiter turned on his heel and disappeared.
"I can already feel the gossip stirring," Loki shifted into a more feminine body, quickly putting on the dress. "They are going to eat my brother alive."
"Do you feel bad about it?"
"Oh, my heart is breaking into a million pieces," Loki assured you with a smile far too wide for that to be true.
He kissed you quickly before disappearing into the restroom.
Life felt amazing. Loki couldn't help but imagine the amount of trouble his brother would get once the word spread about his whereabouts.
His imagination was running wild, but the one thing Loki couldn't imagine was how, merely thirty minutes later, he'd find himself in the dungeons deep beneath the surface of the Moon, half-drowned, and viciously bitten.
hello hello would you do Sasara taking reader on his ideal date? <3
A/N: ooooh, I have a little scenario in mind. :p enjoy
Word count: 1225
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Sasara loves going to new places with you. Today he decided that you two could adventure to a few restaurants and shops around town. He would take you out for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you'd let him. But decided that was too much for one day. Knowing him he probably already packed the day full of activities for the both of you to do.
"I know a great okonomiyaki place that I go to quite frequently. Let's go there for lunch." You smile and nod. On your first date, he took you to a nice diner that had the best
Sasara leads you down an alleyway to a little walk-in restaurant. "Ohayo~" "Ah Sasara, nice to see you-" the cook turns to you and smiles. "And who's this pretty young lady?" "This is my date, y/n." "Oooh my, arent you the lucky one." You both take a seat.
"Well, would you like your usual?" The chef says squirting some oil onto the grill. "Sure. What would you like y/n?" You take a moment to scan the menu. "Hmm, whatever you're having I guess." "Are you sure? You can get whatever you want." Yeah, I'm not picky though. I just hope that you have good taste." You wink and nudge his arm. "Better make that two then."
Sasara entertains you with some small talk and his dry humor like usual. When the food is done you down it with great gusto. But it unfortunately ended up being too much for you to finish so you took the rest to go.
Sasara's arm wrapped around your shoulder while you walk down the street. He cracks jokes the whole time and teases you.
"So why do you like me y/n?" "W-what?" The question catching you off guard and you can't help but blank and stare back at him. "If you don't tell me I'll have to guess. Hmmm..." Sasara scratches his chin.
"Is it my sense of humour? I've been told I'm pretty funny yknow." He nudges you with his elbow. "Maybe my fashion sense? Houndstooth print is coming back and I hear green hair is in these days." You laugh and ruffle his hair. "Your hair is pretty great, and you are a stellar comedian, Sasara."
"Is that all?" Sasara pokes your side. "H-Hey!" He grins and raises an eyebrow. "Oh, so you're ticklish, huh?" His hands immediately launch forward to tickle your sides.
"Sasara stop!" "No way! It's fun if you're really ticklish!" His fingers poke and jab back and forth from your sides to your armpits making you yelp and squeal with laughter. "Stop, please!"
"Alright alright." He ceases his assault leaving you out of breath. " You have a cute laugh y'know." "Whatever." Sasara takes your hand. "C'mon, let's keep going."
You're out most of the day going from shop to shop, taking a walk in the park and visiting the 'fish galleries'. Later on in the evening, you stopped by a convenience store where you two share a melon cream soda.
"Since you asked me earlier, I think it's only fair if I ask what you like about me." "Well, that's an easy one." Sasara put his arms behind his head. I think you're very cute, down to earth, have the cutest laugh, but I suppose that's already been established. He takes your hand.
"I like talking to you y/n. You're always willing to listen and put up with all of my shenanigans, cheesy puns and dad jokes. All I want to do is make you happy." A slight blush forming on his cheeks. "I really like you, y/n." Your stomach flipped in the best way. "Sasara, I like you too." You smile a foolish grin and squeeze his hand.
"There's a club downtown that's having an open mic tonight. Might be fun to scout out some of the local talents." You roll your eyes. "Of course, you're going to take me to a comedy show." "Haha you're not too tired, are you?" "Nah, I'm game." "Great."
There were a lot of great acts at the comedy club. You both laughed until you cried, almost to the point where water was going to shoot out of your nose.
Sasara loves watching you laugh. Seeing how happy and carefree you are makes him glad to be by your side. He hopes to always make you feel this way.
"And now, our last act of the night, please welcome to the stage Tragic Comedy!"
Your eyes widened as you saw Sasara leave his seat to walk up on the stage. Though you really shouldn't be surprised that he's part of the act tonight. But you just were suspicious of what gags he had up his sleeve.
His set was very playful and lively. You couldn't help but feel your heart beat faster when your eyes locked on his. He looked to you when delivering punchlines to check if you were still having a good time. But there was no doubt that you weren't impressed.
Sasara's energy was exhilarating, and if your stomach wasn't hurting from laughter before it certainly was now. Wrapping up the show his tone got a little calmer.
"So my date is here tonight. Say hi, y/n." The crowd oohs and awws. Your face heats up and your cheeks become beet red as you wave. "I was gonna say this earlier but thought I should wait. Cuz what am I if not a man of good timing right?" 'He can not be serious...' you slouch in your chair and look around for somewhere to hide.
"Well y/n, I was hoping that tonight you would become my girlfriend." The audience gasped gawking in anticipation. 'Why did he have to make such a big deal out of this.' You scratch your arm and look up to see him staring at you with uncertainty. Surely you couldn't turn him down in front of all of these people. You cover your face with your hands in embarrassment.
"Yes of course, you clown."
The room erupted in a roar of cheers and applause. That smug look returning to Sasara's face. "Alright alright, looks like I can end this show on a good note after all." He wipes the sweat from his forehead. "Goodnight everybody!" He takes a bow.
Like that he's back by your side in an instant and pulls you into a hug. After the quick embrace, you're practically dragging him out the back door of the club to then punch him in the arm.
"H-hey!" "That's for not telling me you were a part of the show." "I thought it was a nice surprise." You smack him on the other arm.
"That's for asking me to be your girlfriend in front of an audience." You cross your arms against your chest. "But I shouldn't expect anything less from you I suppose..." You lean over to kiss his cheek.
"And that's thanks for taking me out on a wildly fun date." "You enjoyed it then? "Of course I did, moron." You cling to his arm. "I always have a blast with you."
Sasara brings you home. You insist on inviting him inside but he declines saying he should get back to his place and go to bed. Cupping your cheek he leans in to kiss you goodnight, thus ending your date with your new boyfriend.
Troublemaker
yoonmi, hannah, and seri’s showcase of trouble, their collaboration album (what happened, and what they wore)
italics are spoken in english; everything was prepared and done according to community quarantine guidelines
the showcase starts with “that’s a no no”
the stage is dark and the lights flash on at the first beat of the drum revealing the three girls
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can hear cheers from specially when yoonmi starts rapping
the music at the end then transitions from that’s a no no’s outro to “not that type’s” intro
as soon as the number ends, the light fades back in to show three smiling and slightly panting girls
jin walks on stage with a mic and script in one hand and three tumblers
“wah, you kids did so well! you must have practiced so hard considering you forgot to put these out here before the show started”
the three girls laugh at him but gratefully take their own personal tumblers from him while he officially begins hosting the show
“everyone, welcome to troublemaker! today, i’m not bts’s jin, i’m the royals’ mc jin. let me introduce to you our three girls. we have bts’s miya, nct’s hannah, and txt’s seri! do you kids have a group introduction?”
yoonmi and hannah immediately turned to seri who laughed but placed her tumbler down next to the stool that was placed behind her
“2, 3” “hi, we’re royals”
“i’m our leader seri, this is our producer miya, and our choreographer hannah unnie”
the four of them sat down while cheering could be heard in the background
“it’s nice to see you finally on stage when your album has been released for a week now. why did you choose to wait for today instead of promoting on music shows?”
“well, we just thought that it would be nice to make it a little more special by having just one time performing since this is pretty new”
“also hannah unnie didn’t want to clash with wayv’s promotion period!” “hey, seri said this was a good birthday gift for beomgyu!”
seri let out a playful sigh and turned to jin who was chuckling “this is why i became leader”
“it makes sense. now that you can finally perform your stages, how do you feel? let’s hear from each one of you. hannah?”
“It feels amazing! i love the neos, but this is something different. there’s just a different feel when you’re acting sexy with people of a different gender and people of your own gender, you know?”
there was a yell of “sexy!” in the crowd which made hannah laugh “thanks, nana! moving on, miya?”
“this is really cool! i’ve never actually done a concept like this before, so it was exciting trying something new.”
“to be doing a unit album with hannah unnie and miya is interesting. i’ve seen their sm station before, and it looked pretty cool. i’m pretty honored to be doing this with them”
jin smiled at them “and i’m going to assume we’re not talking about the production process because you’ll have those up on your channel?”
“straight off the script, oppa” hanah smirked which made jin snort
“right, right, we’re making this as quick as possible because of all the performances. how about this, which of the performances are you looking forward to the most?”
yoonmi smiled “bicycle, of course! it’s a style new to all of us, and it’s bound to surprise everyone! i believe only five other people in here have seen it aside from us and our dancers?”
“that’s right… personally, though, i can’t wait for our bonus tracks. as someone who’s more into vocals than anything, i think it would be a nice way to show ours off. unnie, how about uou?”
“well, i’m personally looking forward to our unit stages. especially me and seri’s. it’s our first time working together, so that’s pretty exciting”
“speaking of your unit stages, it’ll be up soon, right? anything we can expect?”
“the songs will be quite familiar” yoonmi winked and stood up “but, before that, we have two songs to perform”
hannah stood next “our second is something you may remember we performed in mama along with “not that type””
seri smiled “but the first is a little something we hope can make you feel stronger than anyone else out there. “you think!””
jin asked the audience for a round of applause and ran off stage when the lights went off. as soon as the light went on, the girls performed “you think” and “helicopter”
after helicopter ended, a vcr starts playing showing the behind of the showcase production. it showed yoonmi discussing the stage setting and how everything is going to happen and appear. hannah is discussing with the performance team about positioning and entrances and exits. seri is talking to the audio team about the mics and in ears as well as to the rest of the staff about the program flow
when the three girls appear on stage, a mellower melody plays. it’s “you never know”
Tumblr media
they pick up the mood with “celebrity” a few moments after before the lights turn off
then a familiar melody plays. lights appear, and it’s yoonmi and hannah on stage. they perform txt’s “can’t we just leave the monster alive”
the txt boys in the audience were focused on by the screen and they were getting all surprised because “that’s our song?”
lights went off then turned on to show seri on stage instead of hannah, and yoonmi holding a guitar. they performed nct dream’s “puzzle piece”
the nct dream boys are seen lipsyncing along and you can see yoonmi accidentally look up and make eye contact with haechan who pulled a face (she almost started laughing)
next yoonmi disappeared, and hannah took her spot. they performed bts’s “lost”
the bts boys were show cheering while jungkook and jimin did the dance in smaller movements in sync with the two girls
when everything finished, yoonmi walked onto stage with jin
jin was clapping “wow, you girls did lost better than i did”
seri shook her head in laughter while hannah laughed at him “you’re being way too kind, oppa”
jin walks them over to the stools yoonmi and seri sat on earlier, now with two more extra for all four of them to sit
“it’s nice to see you cover each other’s songs. what made you girls think of doing this?”
yoonmi poked seri in the side to get her to explain
“well, our groups have different concepts, and we decided to try each other out because we were trying out a new concept for the album anyway. why not try a few other ones?”
“it looks like our lovely audience enjoyed it, as well?” yoonmi gestured over to their friends.
hannah laughed and pointed at the six boys making fun of mark “i think someone’s a little upset his girlfriend didn’t perform a song he was part off”
yoonmi laughed a little and waved sheepishly at her boyfriend
jin laughed and looked towards the audience “let me introduce to the fans watching our live audience. on seri’s hand, we have the boys of txt, and three of her friends from jyp.”
the camera turns to the five boys who started to bounce in their chairs excitedly while three people known as stray kid’s seungmin, and itzy’s chaeryoung and ryujin waved from in front of them
“over there on hannah’s hand, we have around 21 boys known as nct. two of them, i believe, are currently observing quarantine, so they couldn’t be here today”
the camera turns to show a large group of boys (and two puppies?) who were waving excitedly and a little girl who was sitting on mark’s lap and playing with haechan
jin laughed. “puppies, too. finally, on yoonmi’s hand, we have me, our bts members, chan, yoonmi’s other brother, and his family… well, mostly. little yoonseol is over there”
the camera then turns to seven boys hooting and cheering wildly alongside a laughing chan and eunsol
“how about a few reactions from our crowd. girls, take your pick from your members”
the three discussed between each other before nodding. seri went to jin and whispered something in his ear. he smiled and nodded
“our girls are going to sneak off for a bit to get ready for their solo stages.”
yoonmi, hannah, and seri hopped off of their stools and walked off stage. seri winked, hannah blew a kiss, and yoonmi waved before the three of them ran to the wings of the stage
jin continued “if we can call our members on stage, that would be nice. soobin, jeno, and rm?”
namjoon calmly walked on stage, pulling a hesitant jeno along with him while the txt boys practically threw soobin up. much to namjoon’s embarrassment, the bangtan boys together with chan and yoonsung started chanting each of the leaders’ names. he gave them an exasperated look which led to laughter
“now that everyone’s quieted down, soobin, what do you think about miya and hannah’s stage?”
soobin gave a nervous chuckle when jin held the mic up to him “i don’t know if i’m suited to give critique to my sunbaes.”
“soobin, we’re literally friends” hannah’s voice came from where she spoke into her mic backstage
soobin’s eyes widened while jeno and namjoon tried to hold back their laughs. jin shook his head
“you heard her” “well, miya wrote and produced the song for us, so her understanding of the song is no joke. hannah, on the other hand, she seemed to get the feel immediately. the five of us loved it”
jin smiled and patted soobin’s head before turning “jeno-ssi! i’ve seen you at the company once, but i haven’t seen your face around our dorm. miya hasn’t brought you by yet?”
jeno jumped a little startled before laughing and scratching the back of his head “we’re friends, but she just happens to be closer with the others. seri actually was the one who invited me to the company”
“come and visit us some time when hannah comes over. you’re like a cute puppy. anyway, anything to say about miya and seri’s cover?”
jeno’s ears were turning slightly red at jin’s off-handed compliment accompanied by the neos being loud. his cheeks heated up even more when namjoon patted his shoulder
“uh, jaemin, hannah, and i worked on this song together, so it’s a great honor to have miya and seri cover it. they both have really good vocals, and yoonmi is great on the guitar, of course”
jin chuckled and thanked jeno before turning to namjoon “you. your turn”
there was a round of laughter from everyone at the way jin addressed namjoon who just sighed
“i don’t know why yoonmi asked for my opinion when i have nothing to do with lost’s production and creation”
“oppa, you monitored our practices the most” yoonmi’s voice rang through the room which shocked namjoon a little bit
“right, anyway, the girls did great. seri reminded me a bit of taehyung, and hannah was eerily similar to jungkook. good job girls, you made the song seem like your own as well”
“thank you,” jin took over the mic once again “you three can head downstage now. up next, we’ll have the three girls showing off their personal charms with solo performances. seri’s going up first. she chose to do one of miya’s title songs to show off a more elegant side of herself. hannah is going to be exuding her charisma through her only solo sm station song (i suggest having her do more), and yoonmi’s going to be spreading the fun with her best dance performance winning comeback song. without further ado, here is seri”
the lights faded for jin to walk off stage. when the lights went on, seri was on stage, a smile on her face before she whistled
Tumblr media
she performed “the boots”
the camera caught seungmin who was staring before he saw his image and shook his head with an embarrassed laugh
then it showed beomgyu and yeonjun who looked like they were yelling along to the songs
hannah was next. she performed “snapping”
Tumblr media
the camera showed chenle and johnny who both stood up to dance along, mouthing every word
it also showed the neos doing a mini wave just because they could
yoonmi was next with “play”
Tumblr media
jimin danced with her rather than her usual dancer (who was sadly sick)
the camera showed little yoonseol cheering her yoonmi unnie on
it also showed jungkook v and jhope cheering a little too wildly for yoonmi and jimin’s pair dance
after yoonmi’s performance ended, another vcr started playing
it was a mini montage of the girls practicing their performances in both the bighit practice room and sm practice room
there were also cuts of yoonmi leading the girls during the recording process
then the lights went off
bicycle started playing
there were cheers as the girls emerged from the dancers
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it started off with seri and you can just hear the txt boys chanting her name loudly
hannah took over the pre chorus which was starting to hype up the audience a lot more
then she went “get on my bike let’s go” and started the chorus. you can see some of the people in the audience doing the choreo that they’ve been doing on tiktok for the past week
then the second verse started with yoonmi rapping and seri walking off stage for a bit
the camera turns to the audience during yoonmi’s part, and you can see jungkook jokingly covering mark’s eyes and jungwoo covering yangyang’s eyes, both with haechan’s help
seri came in for the second chorus
the dance break started, and the cheering was pretty loud even through the screen
yoonmi took the last chorus
then the song ended and there was cheering
jin walked on stage with a proud smile on his face
“it sounded like the military in here, i could barely hear our four lovely girl guests”
“i don’t know, ryujin can be pretty loud” “yah!” seri laughed at ryujin’s indignant yell at her statement
yoonmi sees mark struggling against jungkook’s and chan’s hands and points it out to hannah and seri who laugh
seri then notices johnny being jokingly held down by taeyong, jaemin, and kun while doyoung covered yangyang’s eyes with jungwoo’s help
meanwhile haechan was between them and trying to cover both their eyes
seri pointed the neos out as well, and the other two just burst into more laughter
yoonmi falls off the chair that the staff brought which makes seri and hannah laugh harder
the cameras caught everything
jin helped her up “aigoo, looks like our girls still have a lot of energy despite the crazy performance they just did”
“so this is what it feels like to perform in the military” yoonmi laughed
“you three put up quite a performance. now, it’s time to end. it’s time for your parting words, kids”
yoonmi went first, holding her mic up
“this was a really nice time. i’m glad we were able to show everyone what we’ve been working on the past few months. we’re also really glad to have been able to broadcast this so it could be watched around the world. i hope you guys enjoyed our half-concert half-showcase today. next time, i hope we can meet in real life like in person”
hannah went next
“we practically self produced the whole thing from music to choreography, so i’m glad it looks like you enjoyed it. thank you to our friends and family who are here today for coming to support us as well! these are the people we had in mind to give us energy when we were tired, so we’re glad to be able to show you what we came up with”
finally it was seri
“we worked very hard on every aspect of this collaboration album. it’s not going to be released on charts because we want this to be something you guys can enjoy without worrying about rankings. we hope that you can feel empowered and build up your confidence from listening to our album. we’ll work hard and, if we do this again, we’ll try our best to show you guys something amazing once again”
jin smiled at them “congratulations, girls. your album has been doing well, and it will continue to do amazingly. that’s it for troublemaker. time for an ending greeting”
“until now, it’s been the royals. 2,3”
“thank you” the girls bowed in sync and waved off until the camera faded
that was the end of their showcase
They’ve got a bad reputation (they’ll get a standing ovation) part 2
HI HAVE I, TOLD YOU, THAT, @nottesilhouette IS THE MOST FRIGGEN AMAZING WRITER IN THE WHOLE WORLD? God...why do we do this to ourselves, friggen 3400 word story in the span of 2 days...this is entirely exclusively my fault pay no mind  Read part 1 here. Happy @felinettenovember y’all, time for slep!
...oh, dear gods, why is Felix here? The spotlight burns into his face like shame, regret bubbling up in his stomach. He doesn’t remember challenging Marinette but he has, apparently, and now everyone’s watching and he has to-- he has to-- fight. Defend himself.
Or breathe, if he can manage it.
One seems easier than the other. Well, here goes nothing. Felix steps forward and calls engarde.
“Ophelia did nothing but obey the men in her life!” He cries, stepping forward, gesticulating wildly. The crowd gasps, and Felix doesn’t understand why until he realizes he's still holding the sword prop, white-knuckled grip around its hilt. Marinette’s eyes go wide with surprise and Felix nearly blurts out an apology right there. But then a glint of something sharper flashes in her gaze, burning with determination and suddenly Felix isn’t feeling quite so confident. It’s too late to quail now. He steps forward and matches her, still talking. “She’s hardly enough of an independent person to qualify as a character.”
“What would she be, then?” Marinette’s voice is steady, calm, and Felix is wildly, irrationally envious of it. He can’t work out how to make his statements come out smooth, suave like she’s managed, so he goes for the next best weapon: rage.
“She’s little more than a symbol, a prop,” he spits, and the crowd reacts appropriately. Something in his chest loosens at the idea that he’s performed correctly. Something in his heart wrenches.
Marinette sends him a snide look. “You would know. You’re a model mannequin.”
They’re circling each other now: Felix is brash, forceful, cutting broad slashes through the air with each sweeping generalization he makes. Marinette is steady, precise, pulling apart the stitches of his defense with needle-fine precision. His pulse quickens; a glance at the audience shows she’s winning their favor. This isn’t the clever riposte and quick banter they expected, and Felix is coming across as dim-witted at best.
“Well, what is she then? You have so many judgements, it’s time you raised an opinion of your own-- or do you have no policy but to raze mine?” Felix pushes her back, scrambling for repost. He needs to be interesting, he needs to be clever, he needs to-- turn it back onto Marinette before the crowd realizes he’s faking, that he doesn’t want to be here, that he’s… scared.
His tongue sours at the words, and he hates himself for saying them. Marinette shoots him a glare full of challenge, and for an instant he considers conceding right there. Marinette believes so strongly in her cause, and Felix is desperate to apologize, to reconcile, to just acknowledge the points she’s making. But he’s trapped now, caught in the reputation he’s built for this audience and his own pride, and he has nowhere to go but forward.
Or backwards, apparently, because with each point Marinette makes, crisp and concise and clear, Felix finds himself frantically retreating further and further.
“Ophelia is the only person in the play who recognizes that Hamlet needs help.”
“That’s not true--”
She cuts him off with a slice.  “She’s the only person who notices and tries to stop him, who cares enough to call him out on his actions, to hold him accountable to the promises he made before his mad plan, to who he used to be.”
“The entire argument is milquetoast--” He stabs desperately.
“They speak of beauty and reputation, of expectations and the way one’s actions will never outweigh the image others have of them.”
“They speak of madness and prostitution!”
They’ve become locked in combat now, their blades darting in the scant space their words leave behind. The crowd presses forward, squeezes the stage almost to bursting. Nino presses his face to the camera lense, not wanting to miss an instant.
“The argument is framed against women but its themes are centered on Hamlet’s own realization of the position he’s found himself in. It breaks the adrenaline rush long enough to show him, in all his grief and desperation, the reality he’s constructed for himself. They speak of agency!”
“Ophelia has none!”
“Ophelia reminds him that he does!” Marinette’s voice finally raises. “Ophelia reminds Hamlet who he is, what he has, if only for a moment. Ophelia grieves for him, for his loss: of his father, of his sanity and dignity and agency. She acknowledges that he is a liar, but remembers the man he used to be, the person he put work into being.”
“She laments the loss of his attention, nothing more.”
“To write her statements off as such discounts the tone and the manner with which they are intended; she is returning his madman’s accusations with compassion and reason, she is the only person who has done so, who will ever do so.”
“Why should I take her seriously when no one else does?!” It’s a mad, desperate response as he finds himself teetering at the edge of the stage, and he’s unbalanced. He swings again, unhinged.
“None of the men in her life-- not her father, not her brother, not god himself-- take her seriously until she dies.”
“She trips into a river.” Finally, Felix is in charge of this conversation; this, Marinette cannot deny. It is his strongest point, and the only point that matters. He steadies himself, holds his sword like a shield to defend his statement.
“Her death is not an accident. Her death is the culmination of the climax. Her death is the reason anyone stops long enough to notice how far gone Hamlet is! Her death tethers Hamlet to the person he used to be, who loved her once, who remembered what it felt like to choose what he did and who he was.”
“That makes her nothing more than the physical manifestation and harbinger of Hamlet's descent into madness,” and Felix puts on a smirk because he knows he should.
Felix wishes he was being honest, passionate the way Marinette is being. Felix wishes her voice didn’t seem so far away, calling from a world he remembers existing in but can’t find his way back to anymore. Felix wishes he was talking to her in a realm even close to reality instead of the mirage he’s operating in, desperate not to fall through.
Instead, he steps forward from the edge of the stage and keeps his sword aloft. “She’s trapped in the societal confines of traditional womanhood. She’s nothing more than a woman in a world where that doesn’t matter.”
“You’re right.”
Marinette stops moving forward to meet him, drops her arm. Felix is thrilled, and sick and confused, doubly so when he notices the ferocity in her expression. It is not one of someone who has given up. It is one of someone who is about to pounce.
“You’re right, she is nothing more than a woman in a world where that doesn’t matter. No one cares what she has to say. So she makes it matter. She dies, and she is finally heard. You’re right, and she’s a genius for the way she wields it like a weapon.” Marinette smirks, matching his smugness with self-assured pride, and taps his wrist with her sword. His own slips easily out of his grasp, and he trembles; with what emotion, he cannot place. “Being able to do the work of all these men in 58 lines doesn’t make her less of a character, Felix. It makes her more of one, and more power to her for what she’s able to notice that no one else will. It’s not her fault men can’t manage it.”
 Felix finally snaps. “My sense is not less than yours!”
Marinette pauses, and very very slowly, grins. It’s terrifying, predatorial. She rakes her gaze down his body, and he shivers. “I had thought to agree but this battle of wits has proven very much so the opposite. When she blows him a kiss and winks, Felix collapses where he stands.
It’s over. The tension the assembled students have been holding in their collective lungs for the last five minutes erupts into cheers and thunderous applause.
“Bravo, bravo.” says Nino, pushing through the crowd, most of whom are still frantically scribbling in their notebooks. Felix can scarcely bring himself to look up, his face burning with humiliation. The room around him is rapidly becoming a confusing blur of angry lights and prying eyes.
“You guys were amazing, I’ve never seen anything like that before! Honestly I should turn this in just like that.” Nino moves around to get a few more shots of their faces, lit up under the harsh theatre lights.
“No way!” shouts someone from the crowd, “I’m turning it in first!” “--can’t believe how easily Marinette just eviscerated Felix! I thought he was good at literature but--” “--she’s so clever, he could barely keep up--”  “--he’s not very good at this, is he--”
Someone else laughs and soon the whole crowd is bickering, arguing over who will lay claim to Marinette’s mental prowess and Felix’s mortification.
“Enough, ALL of you! That was completely uncalled for. This wasn’t for you to take advantage of. None of you-- none of you-- bothered to state your own position, your own opinion. All you did was encourage my attacks, which were honestly in poor form.” Marinette hardly stops to breathe. “And anyways, I’m only more coherent because I’ve done weeks of research on this character. Felix kept up to someone who wasn’t just thinking on her feet, and his points still had credibility-- do you know how many literary analyses I’ve read on his position just to try and work out how to defend mine?” Marinette leans over and offers Felix a gentle smile and an outstretched hand. He gratefully accepts.
Felix takes her hand and pulls himself up with it, and stands shoulder to shoulder with her, looking out at the sea of chastised faces. “And now you think you can turn in our work-- her work, really-- and our performance as your own as if you have any claim to it-- it’s disgusting. Marinette poured herself into caring about this, and… and I should’ve listened to her, but I don’t get to take credit for the work she’s done to be this person. I need to do the work myself. You’re manipulators and thieves if you think you deserve any part of what she’s done.”
“Hey, everyone is manipulated by something. Hamlet, Claudius, Horaito… you would know, right?” Marinette looks at him again, soft and shy and concerned through her lashes.
Felix swallows hard, glances at the cameras still rolling. Yeah, he would know.
“Thank you.” He says, stumbling and trying to hide the way his legs are shaking. “I, um… I guess I’d better put these swords away before someone stabs themselves.”
Nino slaps a hand on his shoulder so hard he nearly falls back down again. “Felix, my man! Get that grumpy black uniform off you!”
“Um… what?” Felix turns in confusion, head still spinning.
“You, my friend, are stage-hand no more! We’re still missing a Hamlet, and I know I’ve found the perfect one right here!”
“...WHAT?!?”
As the world around him starts to blur, Marinette slips her hand into his and squeezes, shooting him a fond, amused grin. “You’re going to do great, Felix. I’ll see you on stage.” She presses her lips to his cheek, soft, warm, and… the scene fades to black to the sound of cheering.
The Miys, Ch. 124
Second half of the exhibition!  Mac’s performance here is based on an actual incident that occurred with one of the many actual cats that Mac is based on.
Trigger warnings for blood here.
Thanks go to @baelpenrose for his beta-reading and Arthur, @zommbiebro for Jokul, @books-and-cartoons for GK, @werewolf2578 for Michael and all the other characters you have added to this story, and @charlylimph-blog for her characters. <3 you both!
“Who is competing in the canine rounds?” Coffey asked, steering the topic smoothly.
“Myself,” Grandma Kim gestured. “Michael and Sparkles, Derek and Machiavelli, for the service round. I believe there are a few more for the security round, but I don’t recall whom.”  From GK, that was basically saying they were so far beneath her notice that she refused to learn their names.
A chime sounded, indicating that the intermission had ended. Arthur, Coffey, and I made our way back into the stands, waving to Simon as he worked his way onto the sidelines. Ivan had initially come down ahead of me and Maverick, but was also packing the floor with the competitors for the upcoming events. As soon as we took our seats, Evania announced the next event - sure enough, it was the service and security animal exhibitions.
Rather than the participants stepping forward, Antoine took the floor after Evan. “Previously, these events were separated and considered the ‘canine’ events.  However, it has been brought to my attention, most ardently, that service and security animals are not limited to canines, even with the limited amount of animals we currently have on the Ark. As such, we are combining the service and security events, and this year there is a non-canine participant.  Due to the nature of the exhibition, I will be personally monitoring from the sidelines in case there is any need for interventions.  Also, as with in the past, please be assured that all participants in these events are volunteers and a med bay is on standby.”
Medbay is on standby? I wondered. I didn’t recall that before, but I also hadn’t paid more attention than was necessary to know how many jerky treats to give Lyric and Sparkles.
First up was our veteran, Lyric the First. The elder stateswoman of Ark companions may have hobbled onto the field, but she went through her paces as a service animal with tidy precision. On top of that, the second the ‘security’ portion started and someone brandished a weapon at GK, all concept of ‘elder’ went out the window and Lyric became 120lbs of teeth and fury, daring the faux-attacker to come within six feet of her charge.
I could feel Coffey shudder beside me, at the same time that I could see Arthur nod with approval.  I couldn’t lie - there was a part of me that remembered this same dog standing over me when Maverick first dropped by unexpectedly, and I was warmed to know that I had been so safe in that moment.
After the applause due such a respected member of the community, Lyric the First was taken off the field, and it was Lyric II’s turn to show how she lived up to the name.  Sure enough, she displayed the same precision in the service animal rounds, but it was clear that she knew this was for show in the security segment.  Rather than the degree of savagery her mother had shown, Lyric II was clearly a little confused by the fake-attack.  She still received her applause and treats, however, while GK was obviously considering how much more training was needed.
Michael and Sparkle were next, and their performance was on-par with Lyric the First. Rather than having Sparkle function as a service animal for Michael, Sam had volunteered. The moment loud noises started to upset Sam, Sparkle nudged him into a prone position and brought his ribbon over.  If someone tried to step to close, she calmly pushed them back. Due to her youth, Michael did step in for the security portion - Sparkle wasn’t trained to decide between security and support yet - and that was where she shined.  Without hesitation, she took a defensive stance at any aggression toward Michael, and really did Lyric the First proud.
And then, the fourth round happened. That was what set the crowd’s eyebrows on end, the round with non-stop chatter throughout.
On the contrary to the rounds with both Lyrics and Sparkle, there was no leash, there were no steps to walk through. Instead, the crowd saw Derek Okafor walk out, carrying a lavender blanket and pillow, with a solid mass of feline ink trailing behind him.  Rather than lead Mac through any actions, Derek set the pillow down, curled up on the floor, and covered himself with the blanket.  In an action I had witnessed on more occasions than I could count, Mac curled his impressive mass on the blanket, just outside of Derek’s elbow.  Directed audio amplified Mac’s purring so everyone could hear it, even in the furthest seats.
Suddenly, the audio in the gym played discordant noises.  Not even waiting for Derek to flinch, Mac darted under the blanket and a lump erupted where Derek’s ear had been.  After a moment, the sound cut off, and instead a bowl of food - one so strong-smelling that I could catch it from my seat - was brought out. Mac poked his nose out and started sneezing convulsively, hissing at the bowl as he moved towards it.
The coup de grace was what came next. Without warning, as soon as the bowl was taken away, someone darted towards Derek from the other side. I could actually feel my soul chuckle for this poor slob as I anticipated what would happen.
Sure enough, Mac became a blur of void and vaulted over Derek, clawing the interloper from elbow to wrist, then from thigh to knee. He hissed and spat, clawing at anything and anyone that came within reach.  Nothing could stop the ball of feline fury until Derek darted out an arm to scoop Mac back under the blanket while the poor volunteer - who looked like they had a bad date with a Cuisinart - was led to the aforementioned med bay.
“I’m not sure they knew they were signing up for this,” I murmured to Maverick and Coffey.
Coffey made a firmly negative gesture. “I assure you that they were aware. That particular volunteer? She has been Machiavelli’s training target for three months now.”
“Why?” I sputtered.
“Some people are afraid of dogs,” Coffey shrugged. Given his clear discomfort watching both Lyrics perform, it made more sense suddenly.  I knew he wasn’t afraid of dogs - he kept treats in his pocket for Lyric and Lyric II, at all times - but we weren’t far enough removed from Earth to make everyone comfortable with the kinds of dogs that worked best as service animals.
A cat, though? I knew from a lifetime of experience that nothing was as persistent or vicious as a cat, when properly motivated.
The audience was respectfully silent until Mac and Derek left the gym, before cheering wildly.  Even from where I was sitting, I could hear people talking about the potential of having a cat once the colony was established.  As a firmly devoted cat owner, I couldn’t even make up an excuse to argue.
Arthur leaned over so I could hear him clearly. “You never told me you have an attack cat.”
“I’ve always had them,” I admitted. “I just didn’t know it wasn’t a normal thing.”
“Mac is a good kitty.”
“The best kitty,” Coffey corrected with a grin. At some point, he had adopted Derek as a younger brother/nephew figure, and by extension doted on Mac to the point of chemical warfare.
“The only kitty,” I pointed out. I would have loved for the Ark to have ship cats, but we had learned - the hard way - that genetic enhancements were necessary for them to thrive in the gravity we were operating under.  It was part of the reason Mac was so large - four years ago, he had actually undergone a heart transplant so his vasculatory system would function in the increased gravity. Where Lyric II and Sparkles had benefited from what Miys learned from the original Lyric, Mac was the original.
The next event was thrown projectiles, so I took the opportunity to go grab some popcorn and sausage-rolls for the last two events. No one in my family was participating in the javelin/spear exhibition, but I knew that Xiomara and Evan would be eyeing these candidates closely for colonial security, so I made a point to pay attention. However, despite my original reason for keeping an eye on the event, I found myself fascinated. Each spear had a different range for accuracy, a different technique for throwing… I found myself filing the information away for later, anticipating a very rousing conversation with our Councillor of Security and her protege. Ivan Thorsson, to nobody’s surprise, excelled.
However, the last event of the exhibition was finally at hand - archery.  Charly had made several attempts to have this event be its own exhibition - the projectiles were not thrown, nor were they combustion - but a sheer lack of participants inevitably led to the sport being included with the ‘non combustion’ weapons exhibition, in the same way the animal companion events were.  On the plus side, participation this Von-year made a strong case for archery being its own event.
Participants were allowed ten arrows, ten targets, and fifteen minutes to fire all arrows. Bows could be any size, but had to be pulled by hand - no crossbows, no hooks to draw. Targets were only 25cm in diameter, and any shots that missed the desired target were counted off, with a double ‘friendly fire’ deduction if the arrow hit an entirely different target.
Even with all the restrictions, there were no less than twelve participants in this event, more than any other.
Maverick was first. While he was exceptionally precise, his Shinto-style did not lend itself well to speed. Next came Tyche, who landed killing hits on every shot, though with far less aplomb than her knife-throwing had shown. Arthur had a similar result - fast and deadly, but less accurate than Maverick - before MIchael Smith took the stage again, to my surprise.
My jaw hit the floor as he pulled just as fast as Tyche and Arthur, with the same accuracy of Maverick. Very few people took part in multiple exhibitions, and to see him do so well in three was a shock.  Nonetheless, he swapped out with the next participant with zero acknowledgement of his performance.
After that, the event continued: several people I did not recognize, before all that was left were Conor and Charly.  Similar to his style of throwing knives, Conor drew ambidextrously and over the shoulder. The connection was crystal clear as you watched his motion - a smooth draw, looped into a pull and release.  The only difference was that, where he would throw a knife, he would draw the arrow.
Next, I expected Charly, but what I saw made my head spin: Simon Rodriguez stepped out of a back room, with a longbow and a quiver full of arrows.  Even more incredibly, he did not stand in front of any specific target, but stood in the center of all ten.  With one deep breath, he started drawing from his waist, firing and drawing, arrow after arrow, in a smooth, mechanical motion.
Every arrow struck the center of the target.
The blood drained from my face as I realised why Tyche had threatened Conor with allowing Simon to use him for target practice…. I had no idea, at the time, that Simon was such an incredible shot. Immediately, I felt guilty.
Before I could apologize to him, Charly and her bow walked out. Speaking now felt like an obscenity, since this was the reason so many people were still here. Sure enough, as soon as the targets were replaced, she displayed a foreign calm as she fired shot after shot.
Ten shots. Ten exact centers. Ten arrowheads protruding from the back of targets by a minimum of two inches.
Twelve seconds total.
The transition between Simon and Charly took place so quickly that I had no idea who the applause was for - the Twelve Second Sorceress, or her clear protege. Either way, the end of the exhibition was explosive, to say the least.
I turned to Conor, ready to apologise for not taking the previous threat as serious at it was, when he said something that made me slap my face and groan.
“Bless it, do you think Simon will show me how to do that?”
