Toji’s watched you do your hair over and over again, and without noticing, he’s learned to do it with you. So many nights, he’s mindlessly watched you as you put your hair in braids before going to bed, or before going out. It’s something that he’ll probably never use, but he guesses it’s nice to know. It might help him in the future.

“I’m too tired.” You mumble against the bed, and Toji almost wants to kick you off when he sees you dirtying the bed sheets with your work clothes. The man picks you up from the bed, carrying you to the bathroom. Even with all your clothes on, he puts you down on the bathtub.

“The bed is available when you take a shower. Until then, you lay down here.” Toji says and you groan. You just want to sleep. How childish would it be to throw a tantrum? Or maybe you can just sleep in the bathtub. “I’ll be waiting for you, don’t take long.”

And it takes everything in your body to take a proper shower, but you do it. When you’re all comfortable in your pajamas, you plop down on the bed again. Toji raises his eyebrows when he notices your long hair down, and not in it’s usual braid.

“What about your hair, baby?” Toji asks, and you murmur something about being too tired to even lift a finger. Toji stands up, going to the bathroom to get all of your hair products, and when he comes back, his arms are full with all the bottles, brushes and hair ties. “I can do your hair, if you want, baby.”

“Huh?” You lift yourself up, and you raise your brows as you find your boyfriend holding everything you own for your hair. “Do you know how to do it?”

“I’ve seen you one too many times.” Toji tells you. He makes you sit up, as he begins to brush your hair. He doesn’t know why, but he gets stage fright when he’s about to begin. He’s watched you do it so many times, so why is he not sure how to start.

“I won’t be mad if you do a bad job.” You say, waiting for him to begin. Toji clicks his tongue as he begins to do the hairstyle that he’s watched you do so many times.

“You have so much hair.” He comments, and you hum in agreement. It seems that learning it has come to a good use after all. When Toji finishes, he’s not sure if he did it right… It looks weird. But you can’t complain too much, it’s his first time doing your hair.

He kisses the top of your head and says, “There you go, baby.”

When you asked Kuro to go with you to do some simple grocery shopping, he was quite surprised. He didn't reject of course and instead was quick to accept the offer. Any time spent with you was time he enjoyed.

Arriving at the doors to the store, you sheepishly told Kuro that the reason you'd asked him to come was because you had left your shopping late this week, and by now you were hungry. You knew if you went shopping alone, you'd end up piling your basket high with foods you didn't really need and would overspend for sure. Kuro was going to be your critical thinking.

The two of you began your cruise around the isles, enjoying some idle chitchat together. So far you'd managed to only stick to your normal purchases, basic things like milk, eggs and fruit- then things started to go downhill. As you sidled past a neat display, an item caught your attention. Suddenly your mind conjured a delicious meal that required it, and you could swear that nothing would taste better right now. As you reached for the item a voice startled-

"Do you really need that?"

You snapped your head to your rational thinking, a pout already coming to form on your lips.

"I could make something really nice with it! I haven't had it in forever…"

You began to pull your arm back, item in your grasp. Kuro just tilted his head forward, an expectant look across his face. Under his gaze you shrunk back, now reconsidering.

"Okay, how about this; If you can tell me 3 recipes you could use this in, you can have it."

Mouth hanging open, you fumbled for words. Your mind was scrambling to think- surely you knew more recipes for this!

When nothing came up, you accused the fact that you were put on the spot. It wasn't fair! Regardless, you put the item back, cursing yourself for your genius idea of asking Kuro. He was apparently very good at this.

Soon enough, however, you came upon another item that struck your fancy. Even as you reached for it you could tell Kuro was going to ask and so before he could, you turned to him and listed a few recipes you could use it in- and you were so excited about the prospect of it that you'd already turned around and begun scanning for the other items you'd need for those recipes- unfortunate for you, as Kuro had smiled so gently at your success.

This continued around the store, you picking up items and having to rationalise to Kuro to keep it. It became a game, although you didn't even mind if you lost because he'd started patting your head when you put something back. By the time you got to the check-out your basket was filled with an array of foods that would keep you fed and allowed for various options so you could make something that matched your tastes for the day.

"I don't think I've ever been as prepared for the coming week as I am right now… This is amazing! I should ask you to come with me every week Kuro~" You'd laughed to yourself, happy with your little joke.

"Well you usually shop on Fridays right? I'll be here your usual time."

When I saw this prompt I knew of course I had to read one of @lemonlyman-dotcom monthly fic recs. From the September edition I chose to read this wonderful fic.

This one is a canon compliant fic in which TK takes Carlos on their first offical date. What a tender and sweet little fic this was. The way Carlos practically giggles and kicks his feet when TK calls him baby for the first time, and he can’t get enough and makes him repeat it <3 The addition of them reminiscing now that they’re husbands. A gorgeous moment that feels authentic to them 🥺

This line was a highlight: “conversation flows effortlessly, like they’ve been doing this forever. They haven’t, but as they swap half of their mains so they can both try each dish, it feels as if they have.”

📙 and 🍋 for the Jumbo Ask Game?

📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun?

God, I could talk about Twenari or Astra here, but I'll go with Twenari. Her darling in life, her purpose, is magic. She loves sorcery and knows just about everything there is to know about it, even at her young age. She's intensely curious about book magic - runes and potions and stuff - and wants to go to school for it, even though a sorcerer of her talent would usually never stoop to study the 'material magics.' The things she's most interested in, though, is the Araunian desert.

To start, the Araunian desert is weird and there's never an explanation for why it is the way it is. It's a blasted desert on top of the ruins of an ancient empire of the same name, and it's utterly saturated with rotting magic. Rotting magic is the runoff energy from spells that slowly decays into reality in the form of radiation. There's a massive pool of it across the Araunian desert, which means anyone who enters better be wearing protective runes or they're getting magic cancer.

The other weird thing about the desert is that the rotting magic, sometimes just called the corpse, might be sentient. Twenari has drawn on its decaying power twice in her life. Once, it tried to influence her into using it all up, which would've killed her. The second time, it tried the same thing, which prompted Sepo to come up with audio runes, an entirely novel form of magic. There's also the fact that only in Araun do automatons spontaneously become sentient.

Twenari is utterly fascinated by all of this and eventually dedicates her life to discovering the desert's secrets. She can talk for hours about Araunian ruins, runoff signatures, and robot sentience. Often, she seeks to study it even in her free time by reading all that's been written on it and parsing through any legends that have survived from the old empire.

🍋 Does your OC act petty and jealous easily? What sort of things make them feel like this and do they experience guilt for getting so worked up? How do they deal with these emotions when they get them? If your OC doesn’t feel like this often, why not?

Let's go with Sepo, since he's the king of petty. He's the type of guy to tailgate someone with his brights on after they cut him off in traffic. He's the type to spit in a customer's food if they were rude. He can hold a grudge into literal eternity - he practically collects the things. So yes, very petty.

Another very petty character of mine is Djek. He's more cheerful than Sepo, so his ability to hold a grudge tends to get looked over, but he's holding them just the same. When he loses his temper, he tends to lash out with insults. He usually feels guilty about this, with one exception.

Sepo and Djek have a sort of grumpy older brother/annoying younger brother dynamic. Djek takes genuine joy in irritating the siren, and though he'd never admit it, Sepo wouldn't know how to live if he didn't have someone to complain about. They're constantly trading jabs as payback for some comment or another, constantly playing small pranks, constantly taking innocuous remarks as insults.

But honestly? They both have fun. The insults are petty and the pranks are many, but they both know where the other's buttons are and avoid pressing them. Djek knows not to joke about Sepo's brother, and Sepo knows not to joke about Djek’s parents. So yeah, they're two very petty, irritating men who use each other as a sort of social isolation chamber so their mean streaks don't spill out on other people as much.

a few months Ago you were celebrating a friends halloween birthday party in her penthouse apartment in upstate new York, you went dressed up as a sexy vampires, You were basically in lingerie you had fake fang teeth, wearing a black & burnt orange corset with orange lace boy shorts black thigh high stockings,strippa heels,with a lace dark orange vail .the party was lit, there was drinking games, stripping games,dance contest starting every 5 minutes. people were really letting loose. you knew your drinking limit, but that night you knew you went a little over bord but you were still very aware of everything that was going on around you,so to sober up you set down on a nearby couch and drank two water bottles. something was telling you to look up so you did & right across the dim lit room, you saw him,A mutant turtle man, One of the 4 brothers that saved New York back in 2016 from aliens. you heard about them but never seen them up close before. man was he handsome. looking back on it you couldn’t remember what his costume was but it might’ve been a police swat team or ninja of sorts . but you honestly didn’t care because his look was so different & those damn baby blue eyes captured you, no literally it’s like as soon as you locked eyes with him without thinking your legs started moving by themselves ,before you knew it he had you wrapped in his arms. BIG MISTAKE

}}}}}}}}} I stopped what I was doing and slowly walk into his room, sometimes I forget that he’s not fully human, his body is godlike,im talking Hercules or Poseidon. then reality sets in and I remember that he is a mutant, and true to his animal side his turtle room was dark,and humid, starting down his winding steps that were made of mahogany wood, his roomed smelled sweet like citrus fruit, the walls were covered with lush green vines , flowers & jagged rocks that had water trickling down them which led into a beautiful small pond that had a few koi fish in it. on the walls he had Beautiful paintings & sketches that hung, the floors were of marble and leading to his bed there was plush black shag carpet . turning my attention to the turtle man we lock eyes, but something seems different, his eyes seem darker, and so does the room or is it just the atmosphere.

at the end of the day, i love writing about love. every story i write has some variant of a love story in it somewhere. that said, i am not a romance genre writer. i have made my bed with fantasy, and to fantasy i will always return, yada yada. my dad read The Hobbit to me when i was four and set me up for life.

secondary world high fantasy is my specialty, but i also love space fantasy, fairytale and myth retellings, and cosmic horror. my wip Star White, about a man who spends a billion years searching for his lost lover when he is abducted by sentient dark matter, is a blend of all three.

you may know me from my 1920s-inspired theater with an interdimensional portal in the belly of the stage wip, The Great Glavenisean Theater, or my very strange giant tree wip, In The Deep of the Trees featuring Titus and Sabine. if you’re an oldie (circa 2018-2020), you might recall Bloodlines, a romantic high fantasy featuring original species, the Gelkins and the skin-changers. my other wips include the aforementioned space fairytale, Star White, a queer fucked up found family epic with trans wizards and missing gods called Solene’s Verse, and a very experimental novella about the worst walking roadtrip known to mankind (i accidentally blow up your village and kill your girlfriend, you get an existential crisis about the nature of reality), aka The Wasteland.

i will continue to spruce up this space with wip intros as i refurbish everything, but my main focus right now is finishing the first draft of The Great Glavenisean Theater. i do aspire toward traditional publishing, and have had an eye on this industry for twelve years (i was actively querying at fourteen, we’re in this writing shit for life)
