He's a... STREET-PREACHER!?!
Pyrrha and Weiss were strolling through Vale, both incognito. They had both feel a need to get away from the stresses of school. Most wouldn't have thought due to the rocky start that the heiress and the Champion would have become good friends... it was all thanks to Jaune.
Weiss: So you and Jaune?
Pyrrha: Please don't.
Weiss: What? I was just going to ask how things were. I mean I can tell you two are good together... it's just...
Pyrrha: (Green eyes narrow) Just?
Weiss: I feel bad about how I treated him... and I guess I just want to say I'm happy you're happy.
Pyrrha: (Smirking) You are thinking what it would be like, aren't you?
Weiss: (Sighs) Am I that transparent?
Pyrrha: Yes and no. Be patient, you'll find your own Jaune one of these days.
Weiss: Speaking of Jaune. I haven't seen him around much after classes. Is something up with him?
Pyrrha: He decided to give back to Vale and is doing some outreach work.
Weiss: Really?
The pair pause and look about as they can hear what sounds like a large group of people stamping feet and clapping hands in a rhythmic pattern.
Weiss: What is that?
Pyrrha: I'm not sure... it sounds like it's coming from over there.
Weiss: We should check it out.
The pair of disguised young women moved along the street and turned the corner, and made a dead stop. Before them was about twenty people of all walks of life, faunus and human, all stomping their feet and clapping their hands in a steady rhythm.
But that wasn't what really shocked them. No it was the image of Jaune, standing on a slightly elevated wooden stage. His blond hair was slicked back. He was dressed to the nines in a black suit, white shirt and black tie.
Weiss/ Pyrrha: Jaune?
Jaune was speaking with his hands as he preached to the crowd. telling a parable of sorts...
Jaune: *God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son." Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on." God say, "no"
Crowd Murmuring
Jaune: *Abe say, "what?" God say, "You can do what you want, Abe, but the next time you see me comin', you better run." Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?" God says, "Out on Highway 61."
Crowd Murmuring
Pyrrha / Weiss: Jaune?
Jaune: You always have a choice! No matter what it is! There is always a choice, but with choice comes responsibility and consequence! You can choose to drink! Choose to do drugs! Choose to steal! But there will ALWAYS come a time when the responsibility of making those choices brings consequence to your door!
Crowd Murmuring
Jaune stops talking and walks over top pick up an acoustic guitar from a nearby case. Slipping the shoulder strap over his head, he returns to the center of the improvised stage.
Weiss: He's go to isn't he?
Pyrrha: (dreamily) Yes...
Pyrrha was breathing heavily, picturing how she was going to make sure her man knew how deeply she accepted the "consequences" of her choice.
The crowd was moving about, and approaching Jaune shaking his hand and putting large donations of lien into the bucket before him. He shook each and every offered hand. Thanked them and offered words of support, never once did he balk, or shirk. He treated each and everyone the same.,, as if they were important to him.
Weiss: Pyrrha?
Pyrrha: Weiss?
Weiss: Are you and Jaune... exculsive?
Pyrrha Wait? WHAT!
Weiss bolted from Pyrrha's side directly for Jaune.
Pyrrha: WEISS! HANDS OFF! HE'S MINE!
(Master Episode List)
*Quote from opening narration from the 2003 movie "the Hunted", original source of the quote is from Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited"
This is not a political or religious statement. This is just harmless fun.

Obligation.
Jaune makes his way through the kitchen to see a big metal door with a simple but effective locking mechanism.
The door had read 'Authorized Personnel Only'.
Jaune: We'll this must be the backroom Gepetto was talking about.
Jaune knocks on the door, only to receive no answer.
Jaune waits a few seconds before knocking again.
Nothing.
Jaune sighs a bit in frustration, this time deciding to open the door the large metal door.
The door was heavy, massively heavy.
Jaune: What the hell are we keeping in here to warrant this?
Jaune pulled at the door as it slowly opened up until finally he was able to get inside, making sure the heavy door didn't fully close behind him.
All Jaune was greeted with was a dimly lit room, and in the center of it was a chair, table and a small tablet.
Jaune: Gepetto, you in here?
Jaune slowly walked up to the table as a light on the tablet blinked.
Jaune lifted the tablet.
'Pree play and sit' said a pop-up text.
Jaune,not seeing any alternative,sat down and pressed play.
Gepetto: Begin playback... leaving deadspace in 3...2...1.
Jaune: Gepetto?
Gepetto: Mr. Knight, the purpose of this tape is to inform you of your obligations come closing time starting tomorrow night.
Jaune: okay...?
Gepetto: Every night, once tasks are finished and the pizza place is secure, you will look in the back alley for anything that meets the criteria of paragraph four.
Jaune: What was paragraph four again?
Gepetto: If you don't remember the criteria, then I will remind you: Should you come across a Maiden-Matronic that meets our standards, those standard being...
1. Does it look fun?
2. Does it look safe?
3. Does it look cheap to fix?
Jaune: I'm not sure the maiden-matronics I'm after are categorized as such...
Gepetto: If these vintage attractions meet those criteria, then you will carry them into the backroom and perform the maintenance checklist, which I have provided a copy for you below.
Jaune looked at the sample checklist.
Gepetto: The purpose of the checklist is to test automated response times and reactions from these vintage maiden-matronics following audio stimuli.
Jaune looked over his checklist, noting 5 different times the test had to be done, with only three choices to select.
Yes. No. Unsure.
Gepetto: I will fill you in more come tomorrow night, but once you are done and the checklist is complete, you are to clear the space and seal up the room. Do not return until the end of the shift the next day. End recording.
Jaune: Okay, but that leaves me so many questions...who'se dropping off things in the back alley!
Silence.
Jaune just sighed. Maybe reading contracts would have been helpful...he wished Ren were here. He would have found any small nitpicks.
Ren.
Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha are all going to be here tomorrow.
Jaune: Don't worry guys, like I promised it's all coming together, I freed team RWBY, and I'll free you guys too.
Jaune got up from his seat and left the small chamber, sealing the deadbolt shut on the door.
Jaune checked the pizza place over one more time before closing up.
Tomorrow was the grand opening.
-
*Rumble rumble*
A truck carrying three maiden matronics drove into the inky black darkness as it made it journey to its destination.
-
It was dark.
She hated darkness.
So much.
???: Ren.
Ren: Yes, Nora.
Nora: Do you think Jaune will save us?
Ren: I believe so, Nora.
Nora: ...Ren are we bad people?
Ren: No, Nora we aren't? Why do you ask?
Nora: Is this hell?
Ren could say nothing, not sure if he could believe whatever answer he told her.
Meanwhile, silenty the red-headed amazon spartan maiden-matronic could only weep silently at her teammates' question.

Dumb lancaster request)
Ruby and Jaune were fighting in the are. Jaune was able to disarm Ruby but then (thanks to yang training) ruby put Jaune in choke bold, between her thighs and Jaune just gave up. Stopped fighting, adopted a smile on his face (not perverted one, but one of content) and let his consciousness fade.
Now, i would love to see everyone reaction to this and
Scene later when Jaune woke up and his friends (much to ruby's embarassment) decided to talk about it and please add line similar to these:
(whoever you chose): Jaune, you were almost choke to death by ruby's thighs!
Jaune: And i enjoyed every second of it! If these legs will by my demise then by oum i will accept it my fate with smile on my face!
"You lose, Craterface." Jaune said with a cocky smirk.
Ruby's weapon was knocked away easily. She expected this, since the condition for this matchup was not to use semblances, and since Jaune hadn't unlocked his yet, the match-up was a bit easier... for him. For her, it was slightly more difficult.
Crescent Rose was a weapon for killing the creatures of Grimm, finely tuned to be a lethal weapon in the hand's of the red reaper. Ruby never intended to use the weapon for harming people. She figures that's part of why she lost her weapon so easily; she couldn't stand the idea of hurting her cr- friend, Jaune.
Luckily, Ruby had been trained for this event. Yang and her Dad made sure she didn't leave home alone with learning a few self-defense techniques. Rushing forward, she side-stepped a swing from Jaune's sword arm, grabbing and pulling herself into the air. She threw a leg around Jaune's head, bringing the other around the other side, using her momentum to spin around his head, feet clasped together as she spun three times before twisting and sending them both to the ground.
Jaune dropped his weapons and slapped his hand on the floor. It was fun while it lasted, but he knew he was beat. Professor Goodwitch called the match, and Ruby loosened her thighs.
"You did good, Jaune." Ruby praised. She thought he would take the loss hard, but that wasn't the case. Instead he seemed calm, happy even. When she tried to part her legs, he grumbled.
"Yo, what's going on, Rubes?" Yang asked from the bleachers.
"I think I knocked Jaune out!" Ruby called back. "What should I do?"
"Step away, Miss Rose." Ruby split her legs apart and moved away. Jaune instantly sat up and yawned. "Are you alright, Mister Arc?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Jaune rubbed his eyes. "I must have fallen asleep."
"Our fight wasn't that boring!" Ruby fumed.
"Wait, we were- Oh, right! We we were fighting!" Jaune smacked his fist into his palm. "I remember you grabbing me, but then I suddenly felt sleepy and passed out."
"Hm, in any case, the match is over. Please return your weapons to their lockers and return to your seats."
"Yes, Professor Goodwitch." Her students replied.
The two returned to their seats next to one another, with their teams on their respective sides. Ruby's sister glanced between the two with a mixture of worry and anger, while her partner paid more attention with interest to their leader.
"So," Yang began, "what exactly happened down there?"
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked in return. "Jaune knocked Crescent Rose away, so I had to use that move you taught me."
"Oh, so you taught her that move?" Blake's attention shifted to the blonde brawler.
"It's just a move I taught her to keep her out of trouble." Yang defended herself. " I didn't teach her how to wrap her legs around a guy's head, though. It was supposed to be a kick to the backside."
"I improvised." Ruby shrugged.
Weiss refused to comment. Instead, she glared at the oppsing team's leader, who was being pelted by his own team's questions. How a perfect being like Pyrrha Nikos could stand to be under that buffon's leadership is something she would never understand.
"Are you sure there's nothing going on between you two?" Nora asked.
"It was just a sparring match, Nora." Jaune answered.
"That ended with her legs wrapped around your head." She added.
"It just happened!" Jaune held his hands up defensively. "I didn't have a say in any of it!"
"Are you sure?" Nora asked. "Maybe Ruby's got a-"
"Nora," Ren spoke with an admonishing tone, "it's none of our business."
"Thank you, Ren." Jaune smiled.
"If Jaune and Ruby are dating, then that's not something we should worry about."
"Oh, come on, Ren!"
Pyrrha gave a half-hearted pat to Jaune's shoulder. "I'm happy for you, Jaune."
"There's nothing going on between us!" Jaune groaned, a hand over his face, while his other hand held Ruby's behind them.

Patreon Reward: Stiff Competition!
Cinder Fall had it all. Looks, Brains, Talent. It shouldn’t be that hard to get the boy she wanted, should it? Enter her competition, Pyrrha Nikos. As Beautiful, Intelligent, and Skilled as she. And even more worrisome, she held eyes for the object of her own affections, Jaune Arc. So, Cinder plots and makes a ‘bargain’...with Pyrrha...what could possibly go wrong?
Cinder Fall had a problem. Well, two problems to be exact. Problem one? She was in love. Well...that wasn’t exactly a problem, per se, since the young man that had captured her heart was the most decent male in the school. He was kind, caring, and he surprisingly enough never held grudges. He was stubborn, but willing to be pliable when if need be…in short he was perfect for any girl.
However, the second, and actual problem, was the other girl she knew that held a flame for one Jaune Arc. Pyrrha Nikos. Four Time Champion, and most importantly, partner of the boy she wanted. That alone put her at a massive disadvantage...but for one thing.
She was sure that the girl was still a virgin. After all, anyone who managed to bed the ‘Invincible Girl’ wouldn’t be able to shut up about it, despite the potential backlash. Whereas she actually had had sex before. Did she regret not waiting? Sure, but she actually knew what to do to please a man.
But first...she would have to do something to ensure she came out on top and got the man she wanted…
~
Pyrrha Nikos had a problem. Well, two problems to be exact. Problem one? She was in love. Okay, that wasn’t exactly the problem, since the young man who managed to capture her heart was the most decent man that she had ever met. Kind, caring, and treated her like a normal person. He was a stubborn one, but it worked well with his drive to become a great hunter. He was everything she wanted in a man.
However, the second, and actual problem, was the other girl she knew who had been eyeing Jaune. Cinder Fall, an exchange student from Mistral. She walked with the air of a seductress, and knew how to tease boys into puddles of goo. She had seen it when she had gotten Cardin to get himself into trouble.
She knew that she was a virgin, but that didn’t mean that she didn’t know how to make Jaune feel good! She had watched several videos and read literature to ensure she knew what to do when she and Jaune crossed that boundary!
But first...she would have to do something to ensure she came out on top and got the man she wanted…
~
“Nikos.”
“Fall.”
The two most desirable females of first year met, staring at one another intently. “So, I hear you are interested in my partner…” Pyrrha started off, her emerald eyes set in a hard glare, which Cinder matched, her own golden eyes glinting.
“Your partner he may be, but have you even gotten his attention in the way you want? You make doe eyes at him all the time, but never say anything!” Cinder tsked, shaking her head. “And you want to believe you could please him, little miss virgin? You’d be a complete pillow princess!”
Pyrrha scowled at her. “Jaune is a virgin, too!” she was certain about that, just from how awkward he was around her and the other girls. “We can learn together, unlike you. Most men don’t want a girl who’s hopped from bed to bed!”
Cinder scowled, feeling that hit a little closer to home than she wanted. But she would not lose this...a smirk formed on her lips as an idea came to mind. An utterly wicked one. “There’s an easy way to handle this, Nikos. Woman to woman.” seeing the intrigued look on Nikos’s face, she knew that she had her.
“It’s simple. Only one of us can have him, so we both go to him and please him. Whoever satisfies him the most, wins. The loser...steps aside, and won’t even look at Jaune in that way again.”
Pyrrha’s eyes widened, before they narrowed. “Very well, Fall. We’ll let Jaune decide.” she growled. She was certain that she would win! After all, she and Jaune were meant to be! He’d certainly fall for her over Cinder Fall!
Cinder smirked to herself. The bait was taken. After all, she knew one simple fact that Nikos didn’t: men loved women who knew what they liked in bed, and who were willing to do kinky things. She was both. As a virgin, Nikos was neither. She had this in the bag.
~
Gluck! Slurp! Schluck! Cinder didn’t have this in the bag! She was currently on her back, lets splayed, cum stuffed cunt oozing on the bed as Jaune ravaged her mouth, her throat bulging as he thrust into her face, his heavy balls slapping against her nose every thrust down, forcing her to keep her eyes closed, and her lungs filled with nothing but his thick, musky scent. She was exhausted. But, at the very least, she took comfort in the fact that she had to be doing better than Nikos...
“Jaune...don’t leave me alone...wouldn’t you rather fill up my pussy with your thick cum again? Or even have a go at my ass? I’ve never had anything there before, not even my fingers, so you could be the first to stretch me out~” shock swept through Cinder as she heard Nikos’s eager voice, even if on some level she was grateful for the reprieve as Jaune pulled out of her abused mouth and throat, coughing as Pyrrha’s squeals and moans filled her ears, the world fading around her...
~
Pyrrha was in bliss! She had dreamed about this moment for months! “Yes! Yes! Yes! YES!” she cried out in bliss as Jaune fucked her from behind, her rear rippling and stinging beautifully from his powerful thrusts. His hands were curled underneath her, groping her large breasts, fingers pinching, tweaking, twisting, and pulling on her nipples, fondling the barbell studs that pierced them, something that she had never shown anyone prior to this moment.
Her womb swirled with his cum, the pleasant heat filling her and making her feel claimed by her love. “More, more!” she found herself begging, even as her limbs gave out and she slumped to the bed without energy, doing her best to entice Jaune even as the world faded around her…
~
Jaune grunted as he came again, his cock spurting and spraying his thick cum all over the splayed bodies of Pyrrha and Cinder. He had been shocked when both had come up to him, with Cinder telling him of the...agreement...that they had made. While it was an interesting idea, both were wrong about several things.
One: Juane wasn’t a virgin. Having a lesbian sister and bisexual sister in law who wanted a baby ensured that.
Two: Jaune liked both of them. Very much.
And finally, Three: Jaune, despite what people thought about him, was very greedy when it came to certain things, and affection was one of them. So, why pick between them? He’d just date them both. It wasn’t like he didn’t have the stamina to keep them both satisfied, as he had proved over these past two hours.
Smiling down at his new lovers, Jaune couldn’t wait to see where they would go next.

*At the back of Beacon’s library*
Pyrrha, sitting at a table by herself: *completely engrossed by something*
Jaune, sneaking up from behind:.........*grabs her by the hips* Whatchu’ doing back here young lady? *kisses her cheek*
Pyrrha: *squeaks loudly while nearly jumping out of her skin*
Jaune: *laughs*
Pyrrha, blushing and pouting: J-Jaune! D-don’t do that. You nearly gave me a heart attack.
Jaune, chuckling: My bad. It’s just that it’s not everyday you can get the drop on the Pyrrha Nikos. *pulls up chair* So what are you doing back here all by your little self anyway?
Pyrrha, awkwardly: O-oh, uhm...I uhm....
*Jaune looks a the table to see a figure of a car with other pieces near it and an instruction pamphlet*
Jaune, raising an eyebrow: Wait, are you building a model car?
Pyrrha, blushing: M-maybe. I-it’s uhm.....it’s a model from Back To the Future.
Jaune: Back to the future? That old movie franchise from the dinosaur ages?
Pyrrha, slightly defensively: It’s not that old, but yes, that franchise.
Jaune: Oh my god. I can’t believe my girlfriend is such a dork.
Pyrrha, blushing: H-hey. I-I’m not a d-dork!
Jaune, snorting: Relax, I’m only joking....partially. Being a dork can be cute nowadays. I mean, you should know. You’re dating me of all people.
Pyrrha: *cutely pouts at her boyfriend’s teasings*
Jaune: So you bought yourself figure from the movie?
Pyrrha, smiling embarrassed: Well I wasn’t really planning on buying it. It’s just kinda happened. My dad randomly sent me a link to this because it was on sale. Next thing I know it was already in my cart.
Jaune: You dad sent you it?
Pyrrha, smiling: Oh yes! My dad’s also a huge fan. He’s the one who got me in the franchise. He took me to see all of them in theater; you see, the movies were playing in my neighborhood’s theaters because of one of it’s anniversaries, and my dad wanted to see them again. Although he also had to watch me while my mother was away, and instead of hiring a baby sitter he decided to just take me along with him.
Jaune, nodding: Oh?
Pyrrha, smiling giddily: I remember the first time seeing it. I was amazed the entire time. They were so fantastic and magical to me. I loved them so much. I asked my dad so many times to go see them again afterwards, and each time he did, at least for a week that is, then he grew tired of it. He had to buy me the DVD set so he could get one free day to himself. *chuckles* He used to make jokes about it on how he “accidentally created a monster”. I was so happy when I got the DVDs though. I’ve watch them so many times. Every day after school for like a month straight. My mother used to call me her ‘little time traveler’ and I also liked to pretended that I was time traveling in my blanket forts. I also— Eh?
Jaune: *chuckling*
Pyrrha: What’s funny?
Jaune, chuckling: Nothing. It’s just that I’ve never really seen you talk about something you this passionate about. It’s really dorky, but in a cute way.
Pyrrha: *blushes*
Jaune: So anyway, this is the car they used in the movies? Looks kinda weird.
Pyrrha: Yeah. The car model they used wasn’t actually that popular at the times. It was lacking behind compared to the other cars. It’s only became popular because of the movie franchise in fact. The only reason they chose the DeLorean in the first place was because Doc thought it looked stylish.
Jaune, raising an eyebrow: Doc?
Pyrrha: One of the main characters. He’s the one who made the time machine. He got the idea when he hit his head on his toilet while putting up a clock. He then wrote down the idea for the flux capacitor so he wouldn’t forget it. OH! Which is this thing right here!
*Pyrrha shows Jaune a tiny metal box that has a glass case in it, a Y shape object being inside it*
Pyrrha, with stars in her eyes: This bad boy is the reason why the DeLereon can go back in time in the first place. In order for it to work the car has to reach a speed limit of 88 miles per hour and requires 1.21 gigawatts to activate.
Jaune: *smiles at his rambling girlfriend*
Pyrrha: Originally the car ran on plutonium, which the Doc has to steal from a group of terrorists, who in returned killed him, forcing Marty to flee back in time in order to escape. Marty then— OH! I forgot about the main protagonist! Marty is a friend’s of Doc. He’s a high schooler he hangs out with. They never explained how they met in the franchise so it’s kinda up to speculations. Anyway, Marty is kinda a rebel like character. He’s not afraid to talk back to authority and fight someone, unlike his father; whose the complete opposite of his son.
Jaune, internally: God she’s so cute.
Pyrrha: Anywho, Marty goes back in time which kickstarted the whole movie’s events. He accidentally messed with the timeline and nearly erased his whole existence until he got his parents to fall in love at the dance, OH, and he technically invented Jonnny B Goode during the dance. After Marty saved his existence he went back to the present when he finds out that Doc actually survived because he was wearing a bullet-proof vest since Marty told him abou— oh gosh! I forgot to mentioned that Marty met past Doc as well! You see, Marty didn’t have the means to go back to the present, so he went to Past Doc’s house to get help. Obviously he didn’t believe Marty at first when he told him about it, until the boy showed him— w-Wait, why are you laughing again?
Jaune, chuckling: Cause of your ramblings. It’s adorable, I swear. I’ve never seen you like this before. It’s precious.
Pyrrha, blushes again: I just really like this franchise is all.
Jaune, smiling: Look, instead of telling me about the movies, you wanna watch them together instead?
Pyrrha, eyes instantly sparking with joy: Really? You want to?
Jaune: Of course. Why not? Sounds great. You watched all of the lord of the rings with me, so it’s the least I could do.
Pyrrha, happily: Oh gosh! I can’t wait then! I can get my dad to send me my DVDs and we can watch them immediately! I can’t wait!
Jaune: That sounds great. *stands up* Anyway, I think I should allow you to finish this model of yours.
Pyrrha, confused: My mode— oh! I forgot about the model I’m building. *slightly laughs in embarrassment* S-So is next week good for you?
Jaune: It’d be perfect. See you later. *leaves*
Pyrrha, smiling and waving: Bye. Okay, now let me finish this thing finally. *goes back to building the DeLorean

Motion Sickness Chapter 80
pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq
"How are you feeling today, Cloud?" Dr. Caulbaugh asked me. We were alone in a padded office. She had a plant in the corner that looked malnourished.
"I'm alright. Can't really complain." I responded. I stared at the tall plant.
"Oh I'm sure you could. How are you really doing? It's important."
"Fine. I suppose. Been getting into some missions lately. There are these two girls who have been taking care of me recently. Looking after me. They want to help but they're not sure how."
"Two other huntresses?"
I nodded. "Yeah."
"Two other friends?"
"We might be a bit more than friends. The three of us."
"I see. Aren't you a lucky man."
"Am I though?" I laughed a little. She looked away, a touch embarrassed.
"Yes I suppose it's maybe something to help balance out what all happened to you. Something good to come at me with rather than have everything bad." She worried the corner of her lip with her pen. "And everything is working out between the three of you."
"I think so. Except…" I gestured at the side of my head in a circular fashion to indicate my insanity.
"You're not crazy, Mr. Strife."
"Well then I'm right next to crazy, one rung above it on the ladder of sanity."
"You're too cognizant for it to be traditional psychosis. When a patient exhibits that they have no idea that they are showing symptoms of it. You're self aware of what is happening to you."
"Maybe…"
"But this relationship is working out well?" She asked.
"We had some stuff to iron out at first and get the air clear. We still are occasionally. But for the most part yeah." So far my relationship with Weiss and Ruby had been, well, it had been easy. The pieces falling together once Weiss and I talked a little about freshman year.
"Have you been able to have sex? Many patients report problems performing while on the sorts of medications we have you on."
I blushed a little. "So far it's been just fine."
"That's good news. That sort of endorphin rush can only help with depression. It can sort of clear your brain chemistry for a new wave of neurotransmitters."
I'd been kind of able to feel that. Like I was wiping away an old slate with the release. "I thought I had PTSD?" I asked.
She waggled a hand. "They often go together. Sort of a buy one get one free deal."
"But with my brain."
"It's a complex organ."
"I see…"
I looked over at her plant and thought of something else to talk about. We'd only just begun this meeting and I was already running low on topics.
"I've been thinking about getting a plant. You know? Something to take care of. It was Ruby's idea. One of those two girls. Something small and easy to take care of. Weiss, the other, was all onboard with it. I think they both think it'll be good for me."
"Been eyeing at my plant have you? I can never seem to keep any of them alive. What kind of therapist am I if I can't even keep a plant going and my patients need me for their brain?"
I laughed a little. A low chuckle. "That's how I figure mine would go. I can't even take care of myself and then I'm supposed to add something more to that. No way. Nah."
"Those are their names? Weiss and Ruby?"
I nodded. "I worry about them. I'm scared about the things that come through when I'm not paying attention while Mother assaults my subconscious. I feel like she's a shark, just waiting underneath the surface of my thoughts. And she'll spring out at some point I'll have no control over."
"Salem is constantly at your door then, so to speak. You keep calling her mother. Is that on purpose?"
"No. That keeps slipping through. No matter how hard I try that one comes through. It makes me worried about what else is slipping through the cracks on me," I said. "It's an accident. But one that I keep making."
"She is your mother though, in a way."
"Yeah but I hate her and I don't mean to call her that."
"Do you think of her as your mother?"
"At times. But for the most part I think of her as this foreign, nearly all powerful thing that has her hooks in my mind. She's no more my mother than the incubator I was grown in was."
"So she is kind of your mother."
"Kinda," I returned. "She called me her son, her child, that is. I think she thinks of me that way and it influences me."
"Do you think she loves you?" Tanya Caulbaugh asked.
I inhaled a shuddering breath. "Maybe? I have no idea. I've never really thought about that. I mostly just think about how much I hate her. And my father too."
"Merlot? Was it?"
"It was. I think I'm going to kill him if I ever meet him. Is that fucked up of me?"
"The desire to kill one's parents is not unheard of."
"Yeah but in my situation. With how I was made. Is that messed up for me to think about?" I cornered her.
"Probably less than it might otherwise be. If you grew up in a loving home then it would be different. How you were born matters to this. The things that happened to you are awful and unforgivable."
"That's what I thought…"
"Though I'd prefer it if you harbored fewer murderous thoughts. I know killing people comes up on the job but you shouldn't seek it out."
"I think about killing more than just him. There's this woman, Cinder Fall who killed my partner, Pyrrha Nikos. I want her to die too."
"Are you often consumed by thoughts of revenge like this? Between your father and this other woman it seems to be on your mind a great deal. There's this revenge piece that we're only just tapping into."
"Maybe… My friends want me to give it up. But the fact is that I'm one of the only people on the planet that can stop Cinder Fall before she strikes again. I won't say I'm doing it for a purely altruistic purpose but I am doing it for that at least in part. She'll kill people if I don't stop her and I'm one of the few that can."
"Who else could fight her? Instead of you?" She asked.
"I'm really not sure. Almost no one by themselves apart from me. I'm a menace now. I had to surrender myself to Atlas custody. They couldn't bring me in unless I wanted to. She's in a similar boat. She's very powerful. Very dangerous."
"I'm glad you decided to come in. The path you were on with the Marijuana was self-destructive."
"I miss it."
"You do? The Marijuana?"
"Yeah, I doubt the girls would appreciate it if I took it up again but I do miss it. I might not get kissed as much if that was the case."
"You're not going to use on me, are you?"
I shook my head. "Nah. They took my paraphernalia. The girls did. Besides, my word of honor is good. You've got nothing to worry about."
"That's good. I'll warn you right now that THC doesn't play well with some of the other drugs you're on. It can make things so, so much worse," she said.
"Hard to imagine worse than this," I pointed out.
"How have your hallucinations been?" She wondered.
"About the same. Maybe better. It's hard to say."
"Any auditory command hallucinations?"
"Yes."
"Any visual hallucinations?" She scribbled into her notes.
"Yep," I returned.
"And tactile?"
"You bet."
"How have the nightmares been, Cloud. I know that they were worse on the Asenapine but how about on this Vraylar?"
"They've been at my normal level."
"Your normal level is pretty bad." She tapped the corner of her lips with the pen.
"Yeah. Yeah it is," I confessed. I brushed a hand back through my hair. I scratched at my scalp a little. I hated my own weakness. In many ways I was just as weak as I'd been when I first showed up at Beacon.
"We'll corner that eventually. You have my word that it does get better. I've worked with a lot of PTSD cases and I've seen a lot of ones that were worse than yours. We can get you through this."
"We'll see, Doc."
"I think that's all the time we have for today, too. I want you to think about whether it's true that only you can bring the Cinder Fall to justice or if that's a complex you've come up with to justify it to yourself."
"Very well. I will."
pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq pq
It didn't take me much thought about Cinder Fall to see whether I was one of the only people that can bring her down. I was. Dr. Caulbaugh didn't know about the maidens. She didn't need to know about them and since it was something on a need to know basis I hadn't shared it.
"How did therapy go, Cloud?" Ruby asked me.
"It went good. Even though I didn't have time to practice my lines for it."
Weiss did that thing where she hit me disapprovingly but her fingers lingered at my chest. I loved that. I loved when she did that. It just made me want to say more things she'd disapprove with. "You're not supposed to 'practice your lines.' You're supposed to share just whatever with them."
"Would you be able to? Just go in raw like that?"
"Well…" Weiss trailed. "Your phrasing is a little… I could maybe…"
"See that's what I thought," I said. I took a bite out of an apple at that.
My stomach felt small but my doctors were insisting that I at least eat something like three meals a day so I was snacking a little rather than have a full meal. Hey, it was the thought that counted.
I reclined back on my bunk in Atlas Academy. My point proven.
Ruby plopped down on my legs in the bunk. She rubbed a hand up and down on my leg contentedly. "Are you coming with us to dinner?"
"I got my dinner right here." I twisted the apple at her.
"The doctors say-" Weiss started.
"-the doctors say a lot of things. I'm fuckin' tryin' here." I twisted the apple at her next and took another bite to prove my new point. "I figure I'll leave you to Yang and Blake. I'm tired of coming between your team. I'll give this evening over to them."
"Hey, you don't come between our team," Ruby said softly, still rubbing at my leg in a comforting fashion.
"It's not that I don't believe you Ruby. It's that I can't believe you," I returned. "'Sides I should spend some time trying to turn this needle into a feather."
"Is that what you're doing with that?" Weiss asked.
"Yeah. Why?" I asked.
"I just thought you liked to stare at it," Ruby muttered. She was adorable. I reached out and brushed some hair behind her ear and she leaned into my touch like a kitten. She fluttered her eyes closed and let out a little sigh. I leaned all the way up and gave her a quick kiss.
"Please just come to dinner. Let us worry about how Blake and Yang feel," Weiss said.
I looked away from her eyes. She was disarming me. Trying to pen me in. If I looked at her too hard I'd have to give in.
"Please." Ruby begged, her eyes still closed. "Please."
"You two could literally ask me to jump off a bridge like that and I'd have to."
"So you'll come?" Ruby wondered.
"Got no choice now, do I." I tapped Ruby twice on the leg to tell her to get up off of me and I pulled myself up and out of the bunk. "But if I fall behind and never transfigure the needle that's on you two."
"Pssh. Yeah. Okay." Weiss hit me with the sass.
My feet hit the ground and I gestured for them to lead the way. They did, holding hands while I walked behind them and cored out my apple.
It was a short walk to team RWBY'S room. Literally one door down, was all. It brought back some memories of my team JNPR, when there was a team JNPR, being right down the hall from team RWBY. It was a painful memory. It had its ups and downs to it but really it was just painful as well.
"Yang, Blake?" Ruby opened the door and popped her head in, swinging the door wide open. "We're headed to dinner. You wanna come with us?"
"Sure. Will-uh-Cloud be there?" Yang asked.
"Right here." I stepped into view and waved at Yang.
"How's it hanging, Cloud?" Yang politely followed up.
"Oh you know. The usual."
"For you that could be anything," Yang returned.
"It's a bit of everything to be honest," I said. Weiss bumped me with her elbow. "Mostly good at the moment though."
"Reminds me a bit of getting dinner with team JNPR, you know? We'll be right there," she said getting up and helping Blake up too. Blake looked less enthused but she was coming.
"Yeah, those were… good times…" I trailed and rubbed the back of my head.
"Cloud…" Weiss hissed.
"I'm literally doing my best." I whispered back.
I let them all march in front of me and I took up the distant rear. "Remember when Nora would demand that Ren make pancakes for her, she wouldn't eat the stuff they made for us on pancake mornings," Yang said. "Oh no. She had to have it Ren style."
I didn't much like to think about Ren and Nora. Maybe even less than I liked to think about Pyrrha and what could have been there. When she had kissed me she had meant it. My fault. All my fault.
Not that I was unhappy with my current situation. I walked behind my two girlfriends and their teammates and listened to them reminisce about times past with another team long dead.
"She always just liked him in that outfit, I thought," Weiss said as we made our way up to the dinning hall.
"I didn't think it was about the pancakes. Just Ren's attention," Ruby murmured. "She liked having his attention."
"And they never got the chance to… well you know. Figure the other person out fully," Blake said. "I'd like to say it was obvious what they felt, but it never came from their lips."
"We'll never know, now." I cut in. I realized my mistake when they all turned to look at me. "I mean Nora was asking me for advice on how to get with him. And he was asking me for the same thing. They just…" I killed them. "Ran out of time," I finished.  I tried to shake it off and come up with something less depressing to say.
Yang read me though.
"What about Pyrrha? We all knew that she liked you," Yang said. "You're quite the lucky guy looking at things like that."
"I never knew. Not until it was too late," I told her.
"Is there a story to that too?" Blake asked a touch sardonic.
We lined up and got our dinners. I tried to shake my somber mood off but couldn't quite manage it.
"She kissed me before she went and fought Cinder. Then she died."
"Cloud… your life sucks," Yang said as we sat at the table. It felt like there were three missing spots where I sat off to one side of the other four.
I looked at her in shock. "Um…"
"I'm not trying to make you feel bad or anything but you have to admit that your life does suck," Yang said quickly.
"I'm not sure whether to be offended or…"
"Not offended. You have to agree that your life so far has been a series of unfortunate events," Yang pointed out. "You got born, stuck at Beacon where you sucked, Pyrrha died, then Nora and Ren died."
"And it keeps coming," I agreed at last. "Doesn't seem like there's much I can do to get away from it sometimes. I mean I've had the occasional bright spot, all of Beacon was good, I think, but for the most part…" I trailed and shook my head. "What about you girls. It couldn't have all been easy for you either. Yang, you lost your arm for crying out loud."
"Yeah but I didn't kill my friends."
"Yang!" Weiss hissed.
"No, no. Weiss she's right. I fucked up."
"It wasn't your fault," Ruby said tenderly. She reached over to me but I rejected her touch for a moment. I didn't want the things she felt for me at that second. The purity burned me.
"Disagree. But that's not the point. It still happened to me. Is this really the first time we've all spent time together since Beacon fell? At least of those of us that remain?" I asked. At least of those of us I didn't let die, more like.
"Happy reunion," Blake muttered over her dinner.
"I'll cheers to that." Yang held out her glass. I clanked it with mine.
"So much has happened," Weiss said. "Even since that time Ren told us we had all grown so much. And of course you weren't there for that, Blake. I'm sure he would have told you that you had grown too."
"We've all changed. Some of us even changed our names," Blake murmured.
"Hard to imagine things will stay the same as they are now. I mean, I can't imagine working for Ironwood forever," I said. "Things are just going to keep changing."
"Hey, maybe you'll get some good changes out of this one," Yang cheered optimistically.
"Hey, I doubt it." I chuckled. "All things serious though I got Ruby and Weiss. How much better can I expect things to get for me? This is probably the high point of my life."
"You think something bad is going to happen?" Ruby asked.
"I know it will. That's how my life goes, up for a bit then down. Probably run into my sisters or something else awful and then caput."
"Well, family is just like that," Weiss said. I nodded but everybody else at the table shook their heads.
"Your two families are like that," Blake returned. "You leave my family out of this. My family is fantastic."
"Samesies," Yang threw in. "Yeah it's complicated but it's not hostile, well maybe not."
"I suppose we wouldn't know," Weiss murmured. "My father, well, don't even get me started."
"Same but for my momma." I held my glass to my lips. "She's such a bitch. You ever feel like literally every problem on the planet is your mom's fucking fault?" I took a long drink.
Yang laughed at that. "You're in my club on that one."
And Weiss gave a small giggle behind her hand. Blake smiled at me but Ruby just gave me that old worried look.
She reached out and put her palm on my thigh. A small comfort in a big world.
"Well not everyone has the mommy issues that you do. Some of us have our very own mom issues," Yang said.
I nearly spat out my drink. "What? What is it?" Ruby asked.
"I forgot to tell you all. I ran into Raven fucking Branwen when I was on the lamb with Neo checking out Merlot's laboratory in Anima."
"Well did you get her?" Yang asked her tone low and sarcastic.
"She teleported away before I could kill her. Sorry? Or not sorry. Whichever is best."
"Eh that's fine," Yang waved a hand. "She's bound to be slippery. Not sure if anyone will be able to catch her and put her down. She's a coward. She'd probably just run from you the next time you meet. If you run into her again, that is."
"I was sure to cut her nice and good for you, Yang."
"Oh is that why you did it?"
"Not really. I was sort of just pissed off at what I'd found in the lab. Needed a good target and she was just kinda there, I guess."
"Now that I get," Yang pointed at me with her glass hand. "Trust me on that one."
"Fair cop," I returned. Ruby was rubbing my thigh in a little circle and looking up at my face.
It felt good. Talking felt good. I was glad they dragged me out into this. I sighed and reclined. If only life could stay like this forever…

Firen Lhain:  Chapter 602:   Prismatic Confessions:  Part III/III
Blake sat on one of the beds in her room, Ilia sitting across from her on the other.
"I guess... I should explain..." Blake voiced, and Ilia just looked at her nervously. "Yang was my partner back in Beacon."
"Like... Adam?.." Ilia asked.
"I was SO afraid she would turn out like Adam, but Adam is not freedom, not independence, not even power or justice, he - is - spite. Yang is strength. She doesn't really know what to do with it, but... she's - not - out - to - destroy - the world. I kept her at arms length for the longest time... and... I can't believe I said that."
"Blake?.." Ilia quietly voiced.
"Adam," Blake said, fighting back tears, "cut off - her arm." Ilia did a double take before looking back at Blake. "But, apparently that wasn't enough to stop Yang." Blake shook her head, causing the tears to fall away, and developed weird smile on her lips. She then wiped her eyes. "Next we have Weiss, the... former... heir... to the Schnee Dust Corporation."
Ilia developed a terrified look. "She?.."
"Was disinherited for trying to help the people of Remnant. She became a Huntress so her father, who married into the family, wouldn't be the one to define the family name. As you might imagine..." Blake said with a bright smile, "we did not - get along - that well - at first. We learned to trust each other, love each other. Next is Ruby, who is," Blake said, and paused, "hope incarnate. She's the reason the rest of the team, the reason everyone, got back together. Just being around her makes me hopeful we can succeed."
"And... the buck?.." Ilia asked.
"He prefers hart, through he's actually a Caribou." Blake warmly said to her, "He's the warmest, gentlest warrior I've ever met."
"He did not feel..." Ilia tried to say.
"He didn't hurt you." Blake voiced, "I've seen him strip Yang's considerable Aura with a single punch." Ilia looked at her with wide eyes. "You can't tell me it didn't feel warm being carried by him."
"Even if I was being carried under his arm?" Ilia asked.
"Whom are you trying to convince?" Blake asked her, and Ilia stared into nothing for a moment.
"Wh... why... are you telling me this?" Ilia asked.
"Because," Blake voiced, "if you join us, it wouldn't be as my girlfriend... but you will still need to know how I feel about everyone here."
Ilia looked off into nothingness as she thought this over.
* * *
Blake walked down the stairs, only to step into the sisters shouting at each other. She didn't hear what Ruby had originally said.
"Chill, sis!" Yang shouted, "Everyone knows I've got it going on."
"But!" Ruby tried to say.
"But what, Sis?" Yang asked.
"I mean..." Ruby voiced.
Blake looked around inside, not seeing Jaune anywhere. It wasn't until she looked out on the patio that she found him. She walked out to the patio, closing the door behind her. Jaune turned his head briefly to see who it was before looking back over the night.
"I hope I'm not disturbing you." Blake nervously stated.
"A lot of things happened today," Jaune voiced, "but I wouldn't say disturbed is one of them."
"I'm not bothering you, am I?" she asked, as she nervously walked up to him.
"I honestly don't know." he said, and the two stared out into the darkness. "Just... so much happened today. It doesn't seem real. Does it?" he asked, and turned to her.
She nervously tried to look at him, but had to look back out into the darkness. Jaune turned to join her. "It, "she voiced, "makes far more sense than it really should."
"It, what?.." Jaune asked. "We can't... can we?.. I mean..."
"I mean," Blake said, and moved slightly towards him, "it makes more sense than it should." Blake took another step towards him, and then another snuggling up to him. He shook with a start for a moment and then continued staring into the darkness. He moved his arm around Blake, hovering over her shoulder, unsure of what to do. She grabbed his hand and pulled his arm around her. "You've never been shy, before." she voiced.
"It's never meant this much before." Jaune voiced. "You girls were always so unattainable. The most I thought I could expect was friendship. And you, along with my team, are the best friends I've ever had. I just... never... thought..."
"Never thought, what?" Yang asked as she walked over. "I've seen the way you look at us."
Jaune turned just enough to look back at her, trying not to disturb Blake, "With... respect..."
"Well... yeah..." Yang voiced, "but a little somethin' else. I've seen your eyes wonder, if you know what I'm saying." And Jaune sighed in reply.
"Okay, yes, you're all so amazingly beautiful." he stated.
"And apparently last night it was a cat burglar, as she decided to jump to the front of the line."
"I just... needed... someone..." Blake voiced.
"I could have..." Yang tried to say.
"You were having a... talk..." Blake voiced, "with your sister."
"Is there?.." Jaune voiced, "Actually a line, or?.."
With this Yang sighed. "Sorry." she voiced, as she walked up to Jaune's free side. When he didn't react she spoke up. "You've got two hands, and I expect you to use them." Jaune quickly wrapped his arm around Yang's shoulder. "So, we didn't want to fight about this, but this is my play. I'm a babe, and you certainly know that. I've caught you staring."
Yang squeezed Jaune and then slipped out of his arm, before returning to the house, Jaune's head following her before looking back at Blake..
"And?" Jaune asked, "this is yours?"
"Two Faunus," she said with a pause, "with eye-shine, staring out into the night?" Blake asked, "How could it not?"
"Exactly." Jaune said with a smile.
* * *
Jaune and Blake stepped inside, when a burst of rose petals appeared in front of them. "Okay!" Ruby shouted.
"Ruby?" Jaune asked, and Blake respectfully stepped away.
"So, Yang-and-Blake-made-their-move-and-I-want-to-make-my-move-but-I-really-don't-know-what-but-just-know-that-you're-the-first-one-to-talk-to-me-and-I-don't-think-I-could-live-without-you-and-I-wanted-to-thank-you-for-coming-with-me-and-I..."
"Easy, Ruby." Jaune stated.
"but?.." Ruby tried to ask.
"I don't think I could live without you, either." Jaune grumbled, "Which is one of the reasons this is so... difficult..."
Weiss cleared her throat, and Jaune looked over to her. Weiss had a light blue flush, and hands tented in front of her face; when she dropped them he saw a smile, "I do believe it is my turn." Jaune gave her a nervous smile.
"Is this going to be fancy?" Jaune asked, and Weiss nervously looked down and around, anywhere but at him. Ruby turned to leave but Jaune quickly pulled her into a powerful hug. He then kissed her on the head, let her go, and turned back to Weiss.
"I suppose?" Weiss teppidly asked, "candour is in order." She nervously looked up into his eyes. She breathed in deep for a moment. "Yes?" she nervously asked, and he lightly sighed.
"Remember, I want to spend time with you." Jaune stated, and Aurora appeared behind Weiss.
"As I expected." Aurora said, and Weiss jumped. She turned to glare at her. "I have made alternate arrangements."
"Aurora!" Weiss admonished her, and then breathed in deep, "And they are?"
"Not quite as fancy," Aurora voiced, "as he says, but a lot more private."
Weiss then looked at Jaune. "Well, he does seem to enjoy the idea..." She then turned to Aurora, "Very well. Dress will be?"
"Formal." Aurora said, and Weiss looked expectantly at Jaune.
"I... uh... walked here... with the clothing on my back." Jaune voiced.
"We could..." Weiss tried to say.
"After poking the dragon's den... queen... bitch..." Jaune voiced, "I would rather NOT be without my armour.
"Huntsmen are normally except from formal dress requirements," Aurora stated, "unless they are... well... Qrow..."
"You got a problem?" Qrow asked, and Aurora brushed her chin as she looked at him. "What, you don't like my beard?"
"That - "Aurora voiced, "is not - a beard."
Weiss looked at her incensed until Qrow just started laughing out loud. He then stood up and looked her in the eyes, "I like you." he said, and Aurora nervously looked away. "Oh, man, she's a keeper, Weiss."
"I will take your accolades into consideration," Weiss replied, "though, so far, she has been fantastic."
* * *
Weiss and Jaune walked along the street, side-by-side as they followed behind Aurora. "So, tell me?.." Weiss nervously asked, "Did you truly walk across two continents with but one set of clothes?"
"Well," Jaune voiced, "I did bring spare socks and underwear."
"And... who has been cleaning it?.." Weiss asked.
"The laundry fairy." Jaune stated.
Weiss smiled for a moment, "I doubt you mean that seriously."
"I think it's Ren," Jaune stated, "though I'm not sure, but Ren seems like the most likely candidate."
"Are you?.. serious?.." Weiss asked him.
"100%," Jaune replied, "swear to the good god. My clothes were always clean by the time I was done bathing."
"You - bathed?," Weiss asked, "Out in the open?.."
"Ruby and Nora always turn around, and Pyrrha was the same way."
"And I suppose you were just as much of a gentleman?" Weiss asked.
"Of course." Jaune said. "Trust is incredibly important."
"And as a former noble, you have your honour to think of." Weiss said, and Jaune sighed. "I'm sorry, I did not mean..."
"No..." Jaune voiced. "Whether that's why, or not, I try to always mean what I say."
"Your earnestness is infectious." Weiss replied. "Just please stay your charming self, and not the one I first met."
"Uh... yeah..." Jaune said, and then let out awkward laughter. "I was pretty terrible." he added, and Weiss giggled.
"Looking back on it, it's almost a fond memory, but... yes... you were. I much prefer this charming gentleman."
"Hardly... gentle..." Jaune voiced.
"You can be a bit of a lummox, but you are always genuine, always wanting to help. Too bad it took being a bird locked in a cage to make me realize it."
"I kind of find that hard to believe." Jaune voiced.
"Oh?" Weiss asked.
"Being in a bird cage and not trying to pick the lock or something?" Jaune.
"I tried to find lawyers to take my case, but the only ones I knew were the family lawyers."
"Ah..." Jaune voiced.
"They were right in that it was a conflict of interest." Weiss voiced.
"So?," Jaune asked, "then what did you do?"
"Hire Aurora." Weiss said, and made a thrusting movement with an invisible rapier, "And had her offshore my savings so I could be supported once I escape."
* * *
Weiss and Jaune sat on a table on a balcony, overlooking the night as a sommelier poured their wine.
* * *
Aurora opened the door to the house and walked inside, stepping aside so that Jaune could walk in arm-in-arm with Weiss. A burst of rose petals appeared in front of them.
"How was your wine tasting?" Ruby eagerly asked, trying her best not to be judgemental, or jealous, or at least less socially awkward than she usually was.
Jaune stepped forward to kiss her on her lips. Ruby turned pale(r) and nearly fainted.
"I suppose we can blame that on the wine." Weiss said with a smile, and then stepped forward to do the same. This time Ruby's knees did buckle, and luckily Jaune was ready to catch her. He picked her up like a princess and walked her over to the couch. He gently put her down, and stood up, staring at her. He dropped his hand and cupped her face before gently stroking her hair.
"Shit," Yang said, "you don't take any prisoners."
"You have your," Jaune said, and thought, "bodacious play. Blake had her quiet, Weiss her company. I had to give Ruby something."
"And ice queen?" Yang asked.
"My plan is to blame it on the wine." Weiss said with a bright smile.

RWBY Grimm Guardians Arc 4: Re-Bonding In Mistral Ch 6 (Part II)
Here’s Part 2 of Chapter 6.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(The next morning…)
As everyone was having breakfast, still absorbing the conversation from last night, the youngest of the team leaders went to the living room.
“Yang…” Ruby called out. Her big sister hummed from the couch, turning to face the younger of the two with a raised eyebrow. The red cloaked teenager bit her lip. She knew she shouldn’t ask this... But she wanted to try and help. “Do you...want to talk about Blake and...our other mom…?” She asked with hesitation. As expected, the blonde sighed, “Blake, yes. Mom...I’d like to wait for now.”
“She didn’t come back with Mom...did she?” Ruby asked, sitting next to her big sister on the couch. Yang shook her head, “No, but I get why. Stepmom gave Mom a choice and Mom alone has to decide if she’s ready to return.” “She’d do the same with us, if we were in that position.” She explained. “It’s just…” The blonde sighed, racking her fingers through her hair.
“I just...wished this was an easy choice for her.” She said. “I get it. She wants to protect us and proud of her for that.” Ruby nodded in agreement, before asking, “But you want her to do it where you can spend time with her. Right?” “I know it’s a bit hypocritical…” Yang said. “But, unlike Blake, I’ve been without Mom my whole life…”
“I can’t talk to her the same way I can speak to Blake.” The blonde said. “I…still don’t know Mom well enough for that.” Her younger sister nodded, “I get that. Also, unlike our other mom, you and Blake have a more effective means of staying in contact.”
Yang nodded in agreement as she rested her head on Ruby’s shoulder. “I know you’re questioning your thoughts. I am too…” The younger of the two said. “So, trust me. We’ll both get answers soon enough. I’m sure...”
“She might be anxious over Dad’s possible reaction too.” She explained. Yang nodded, before shivering, “I don’t want to know how bad THAT might end up.” Ruby nodded in agreement, “We’ll see how it goes... and support them in the best way we can.”
The blonde nodded, before the two rested on the couch. As the morning went on, they watched Jaune spending time with Pyrrha, while Ren spent time with Nora. “Those two pairs are cute together.” Yang chuckled. Ruby grinned, “Aren’t they?”
Weiss then sat down next to them, with Ruby saying, “Your mom looks WAY different now.” The heiress gave a soft chuckle, “Yeah. It’s almost unbelievable.” “But it’s nice. I’m happy with it.” Weiss smiled. “She...finally feels better about herself.”
The tallest of the three sighed, “Speaking of parents, will Blake and Gambol’s like us?”
Weiss sighed, “I hope so. I don’t want to be judged based on my father’s actions.” “From what Mom said since our virtual meeting, they seem really nice and understanding.” Ruby said. “We might be good in their eyes, if they believe Blake.”
“Speaking of Blake, she texted me earlier.” Yang said. Her sister and Weiss turned to look at the blonde, to which she said, “We’ll need to be careful. White Fang’s gonna attack Haven soon.” “Shit…” Ruby whispered, to which Yang nodded. “Yeah.” The blonde replied. “How long do we have?” The heiress asked. The blonde sighed, “Approximately two weeks. They could attack earlier. We’ll need to hurry and be cautious.” “Blake and her family will be coming to help us out.” She explained.
Ruby and Weiss nodded. That was, at least, one good sign.
The three noticed Evergreen comforting Oscar in the kitchen. “Seems like last night made him feel worse about himself.” The youngest of the three said. Yang nodded, “It was Ozma, not him.” The heiress nodded, “Though it seems he’s struggling to see the difference.”
The sister pair nodded in agreement. Qrow entered the living room with a mug of coffee, before looking at his nieces. The two just each gave him a reassuring nod, before he gently combed their bangs out of their eyes with a chuckle.
“Guys…?”
Everyone turned to face Summer as she entered the room, before Ruby, Yang, Qrow, and Evergreen’s eyes widened. As the former STRQ leader stood before them, she was in the EXACT appearance she had prior to her death. She was shorter, had no scars, had longer hair, and had her black dress again.
Yang immediately sat up, before she and Ruby began standing.
“Sum…?” The former bandit called out, covering his lips in shock as he almost dropped the mug. His former leader nodded, shaking, “Please...tell me I’m not DREAMING. Please tell me...that I’m still here.”
Immediately, the former bandit realized that his former leader had triggered her strongest ability. Her unique semblance: Transformation.
Putting the mug on the table, Qrow walked up to her and racked his fingers through the woman’s hair, before holding her. “I’m SO proud of you…” He said, a smile forming on his face. “You remembered your greatest strength.” Something in the former STRQ leader cracked as she broke into tears, burying her face into the now taller man’s shoulder and holding him tightly. “It’s okay, Sum. It’s okay.” The former bandit whispered. “This is real. You’re not dreaming. You’re still here.”
Yang and Ruby, without hesitation, immediately rushed up to them and hugged their mom. Qrow gave a weak, yet genuine chuckle as he said, “I’m so proud of you…” Summer finally pulled back a bit, wiping her face dry and sniffing. “Sorry…” She mumbled, referring to the stain on Qrow’s shoulder. The former bandit smiled, “Don’t be. You know I’d sacrifice a dry shoulder for you, Rae, Tai, and the kids any day.”
The now shorter woman nodded, before holding her daughters...or at least attempting to, given that the two had wrapped their arms around her waist and abdomen from behind her.
As the two teenagers released their hold on the former STRQ leader, she let out a sigh. “I’ve missed this…” She mumbled with a tired smile, before pointing at the stubbled man in front of her. “Doesn’t mean you get to use the height jokes, Qrow.” The former bandit gave a fake pout, “You’re no fun.” Summer gave a genuine chuckle, “And even though I’m shorter, I’m still a can of ass-kicking. I told you that ages ago.” Qrow smiled, raising his hands with a nod, “Yes, yes. You did.”
The two stood like that for a few moments, before Summer once again tightly hugged the taller man. “Easy, Sum…” The former bandit said with a smile. “I got you.” He felt his former leader nod, tightening her hold on him.
Summer began to wonder if this was what it was like. To love yourself.
She believed that this was probably ONE way to love yourself. If so, she’d take it with every bit of joy in her. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Some time later…at Haven Academy…)
Finally the group had arrived at the academy. And as they entered, the headmaster, Leonardo Lionheart welcomed them. “Why hello. Thank you for...coming.” He said with a nervous chuckle. “There seems to be...more of you than last time.” Everyone raised an eyebrow, before Qrow said, “Well, the more the merrier, as they say. What’s going on with the council?” “Why did you...bring your weapons?” Lionheart asked.
Once again, the group was confused by the headmaster’s nervous tone…
As well as getting suspicious…
“We’re huntsmen, Lionheart.” Evergreen said, before giving his fellow headmaster a concerned expression. “Is everything alright?” The bearded faunus nodded, “Yes, of course! I apologize.” “Haven’t had my evening coffee yet.” He explained.
Summer and Evergreen knew THAT was a lie and a half.
Suddenly, Summer felt Yang gently tugging on her sleeve as she whispered, “Mom’s here.” The former STRQ leader knew Ember heard that...and probably Ruby and Qrow too. The tallest of the group turned towards the balcony Yang was now pointing to, revealing a black bird on it. Nodding, she then said, “Raven… If you could be polite and come down here, please.”
The group watched as the bird flew from the balcony and landed in front of Summer, before transforming and revealing Raven, removing her mask...and still wearing Summer’s cloak. “You are too observant for your own good.” She said...with a noticeably somber tone.
That alone made Yang realize that her mother didn’t want to be at Haven. Qrow went up to the two, asking, “The hell are you doing here…?” Summer continued to look at her former partner in the eye, before whispering, “You’re not here by choice… Are you?”
The tribe leader sighed, whispering, “Bribed. Salem’s brats want the Relic.” The twins could hear the uncanny wolf growl from their former leader. “And Vampier?” The taller woman asked. Raven closed her eyes, “She’ll be here too.”
Summer sighed, “Very well then. I can make her beg for mercy again.” “I know you will.” The elder Branwen whispered with a small smirk. “Plan is to trick them into fucking up.” The taller woman chuckled, “I’m glad you still got that clever side of you.” The twins smiled, before noticing their former leader grinning as she said to them, “Better make this convincing. Got it?”
“Yes, ma’am.” The Branwens whispered, obviously a little anxious by how willing Summer seemed to go along with this plan. The three then backed up from each other, before Summer whispered in each of her daughters’ ears. As she did that, Qrow successfully managed to distract Lionheart by asking Raven in a convincing angry tone, “There’s only one reason you’d be here. You got the Spring Maiden, right?”
Unexpectedly, the elder twin gave Qrow a noticeable flinch. His jaw nearly dropped in shock. ‘Oh fuck, do NOT tell me…’ He thought to himself in worry. Summer paled, realizing that Qrow didn’t know that Raven was a Maiden...and she was certain the tribe leader was internally panicking. ‘Those two need to play their cards VERY carefully right now.’ She thought. ‘Or we’re so fucked…’
“I do.” Raven said...and as expected, Qrow was even more shocked. ‘Fuck…’ He thought, before saying, “Okay… Then help us by letting her join us…” “Not that simple, little brother.” The tribe leader said. “You know as well as I do that fighting Salem is just a LOSING battle.” Her little brother sighed, “Rae, we’ve been over this. We can stop her. She’s not invincible.”
“She’s right, Qrow.” Summer suddenly said in a monotone voice, drawing a lot of shocked reactions towards her. “Nearly...died ONCE...against Salem.”
The twins and Evergreen looked the most horrified out of everyone present. Against her better judgement, the elder Branwen asked, “Then why are you still fighting?” “Not. Just...protecting you all…” Her former leader said, once again in a monotone voice. The twins felt like their hearts SHATTERED when they heard that. Raven could tell that Evergreen seemed very guiltful over this. Summer’s fingers twitched, before she said, “Can’t kill HER. But her TOOLS, on the other hand…”
“Kill off...or defeat her support? She’s alone.” The former STRQ leader said. “We can, at least...make her fail.” She then perked up, looking around her, as if she had forgotten where she was. Summer then cleared her throat, before saying, “Sorry… That was...something I needed to get off my chest...for quite some time.” “I think…” She mumbled. The group and Raven assumed that the taller woman just had a flashback and whatever thoughts that were still buried decided to show up.
Raven seemed to know very well as to what Summer was talking about earlier.
“As much as I’d like to continue this discussion...and be proven wrong....” The tribe leader started. “This group won’t let me waste anymore time.” She then half-heartedly swung Omen down, opening a portal. A fireball and an energy blast launched out, both hitting Summer to little effect. She had dashed in front of Ruby...and as the smoke cleared, the former STRQ leader glared into the portal. “I see you got a new toy to play with.” She said as Vampier stepped out.
The Bat Queen grinned smugly, “Yeah. Do you like it?” “A...friend of mine has a new toy as well.” She said pointing at the portal as Cinder stepped into the room. The teenagers paled as their eyes widened in shock.
“Thought you saw the last of me, brats?” The red-dressed woman grinned. She and Vampier then looked at a now-furious Pyrrha. The Bat Queen raised an eyebrow, “Aren’t you supposed to be dead?”
It was taking a lot of strength from Jaune, Ren, and Nora to make sure the armored redhead didn’t rush in and get fatally injured again. Cinder looked at Ruby, who looked like she saw a ghost. “Did you like my gift?” The Fall Maiden asked with a grin.
“How…?” The red cloaked teenager asked, shocked that CInder was standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. Her mind almost flashed back to her nightmare as the red-dressed woman sighed, “Salem’s QUITE generous. Gave me a new arm, new ability…”
“And freed me from my FEAR of you damn brats.” She emphasized with a grin. She then snapped her fingers and soon, Mercury, Emerald, and Vernal had entered the room. “Ah, if it isn’t the assholes who tried to make us look bad.” Yang smirked. “Now we can kick your asses without feeling guilty.” Ruby managed to ignore Cinder as she looked at her sister and Ember, “You two want my scythe?”
The taller blonde ruffled the younger Rose’s hair, “Thanks, kid. But we’d rather punch their teeth out.”, before going into Yang’s gauntlet. The blonde teenager looked at Ruby, obviously concerned as she whispered, “Are you going to be okay?” The younger of the two shook her head, “I...really don’t know…” Weiss put a hand on her leader’s shoulder, “You understand that you have us to help you. Right?”
Ruby gave a small smile and nodded, before jumping as Willow shielded them from another fireball. “What’s the game plan?” She asked Summer. The former STRQ leader narrowed her eyes, before saying, “Vampier’s mine.” She then looked at the teenagers, “Can you take on Cinder and her brainwashed children?” After a few moments of silence of looking at each other, both teams nodded. Summer smiled, giving them a reassuring nod.
She then looked at Qrow and Evergreen, “You two and Willow try to take on Raven and Vernal.” “At least to make this somewhat believable to Cinder…” She whispered. The three adults nodded, before Qrow and Summer noticed a brief, but thankful smile on the tribe leader’s face. “Do me a favor and don’t hold back, brawd.” Raven said. Reluctantly, Qrow nodded, “If that’s what you want, chwaer.”
Cinder formed a flame in her hand with a grin, while Vampier charged her new pistols. “If we’re all done with this chit-chat…” The Fall Maiden started. “Time. For. Some. FUN!” Summer immediately pulled out her sabers, before everyone began charging at each other. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God, this was hard, but I hope it was good enough.
College is a pain in the fucking ass and some personal shit with anxiety had also prolonged this.
Now, Transformation works like this: Summer can transform into things that represent her or her bloodline (for example: A giant gray wolf, a legit giant, a Beowolf Grimm, herself prior to her death or during Beacon, and...something else that will be revealed in the future, hopefully). She can partially transform into other creatures, but it’s difficult to do so. Also, she prefers not doing it with other things.
Of course, these forms (excluding the mysterious one (for reasons not yet set in stone) and her appearances prior to her initial death (because it's just a cosmetic change)) all have their own benefits and flaws.
Naturally, her wolf forms can allow her to communicate with canines, like Zwei for example. As her Beowolf Grimm form was granted by the Grimm blood now inside her, she’s able to communicate with Grimm.
The next three chapters will ALL be about Haven’s fall. With a LOT of differences.

--== Table of Contents ==--
They were backstage, with Ms. Primrose. Continuing the tour, letting them see the activity that take place after an event. The chatter was idle, with Yang asking various questions. Pyrrha mainly kept to herself. Her mind occupied with memories of Jaune, both in the good times and bad. Yang's hand on her shoulder brought her out of her thoughts.
“Are you okay, P-money?”
“Yes, I'm fine.” Pyrrha replied. “Just thinking...”
“About VB?”
“VB? Who is that, if you don't mind me asking.” Jade cut in.
“Jaune.” Yang responded, “It's a nickname from when we went to school together.”
“Interesting. You went to school with Golden Boy? How was he back then?”
“Goofy, dorky, but a guy with a golden heart.” Yang offered, before asking, “So what is it with everyone hating on him? I mean, just about everyone almost loved him when he was in school.”
“It is partially because he publicly jumped from Gold to Fall as a sponsor; and his aura.”
“What do you mean?” asked Pyrrha.
“He has almost double the amount anyone else has. So he's near unbeatable in a straight-up throw down. He lost a fair bit in the beginning, due to a lack of grappling skills, but as soon as he was head-hunted, he got good, and has basically been nearly undefeated since.”
“Okay. So answer me this. What it with needing a gym sponsor?” Yang questioned.
“It is partly for health reasons. We vet the gyms, training methods, drug policies, and such. So if a gym sponsors a fighter then we know they are competently trained, healthy and are clean.” Jade answered, “In fact, we only offer contracts to gyms. We have about half a dozen right now, with a few more just starting the vetting process.”
“So the gyms are the ones who choose the competitors?” inquired Pyrrha. “How do you set up matches?”
“The gyms give us a roster of their available registered fighters.” Jade responded. “We then match up based on win-loss records with us, and weight classes. If you do decide to join up, it will be at the discretion of your sponsoring gym when or if you are ready to compete.”
“Then why are you speaking to us? If it's all up to the gyms?” asked Pyrrha.
“We have agreements to scout possible talent, and to inquire about their interest in taking part.” Jade offered, “If they are, we act as an intermediary between potential talent and the gyms.”
“Seems awfully complicated.” commented Yang.
“It is, but it works to everyone's benefit. The gyms make sure fighters are trained and healthy, we make sure the fighters are given fair deals, and fighters have options if there are disputes.”
“What do you think P-money? Because I'm thinking of joining after this next batch of missions is up.”
“It's interesting. I need to...” Pyrrha stopped when she saw Cinder Fall approaching. She was in a professional looking pantsuit with matching handbag.
“Ms. Primrose, Ms. Xiao Long, and Ms. Nikos. It is a pleasure to see you. Are you interested in competing?”
“Not for me, looks fun, but still have huntress duties to fulfill.” Yang replied.
“Maybe.” Pyrrha responded.
“Well, if you do choose to join, feel free to drop by and check out my facilities.” Cinder pulled a couple business cards out, and held it out to the pair of huntresses. “We would be delighted to have you join our roster. That is, if you do wish to pursue this opportunity.”
“Thank you.” the huntresses spoke in unison.
“Well, I wish you the best for the remainder of the night, and hope to see you visit my facilities in the near future.”
“I think...” Pyrrha started.
“Auntie Cinder!” sounded out behind the group of four women, stopping any further conversations. “Auntie Yang?”
Pyrrha's heart jumped to her throat. He had stopped when he saw her, the precious eight-year-old, her little Azalea; holding his hand, held still by his firm grip.
“Daddy?” Az asked, looking up at her father, not entirely sure why he was preventing her from going to see her aunties.
“Pyr?” Jaune asked.
“Jaune.” Pyrrha responded.
"Mommy?" Azalea asked, her bright blue eyes growing wide with excitement.

•small re-post this time with song included.

"Has anyone seen VB?" Asked Yang looking much older, bout nine years older now from when she graduated Beacon five years ago.
Blake, Weiss, Pyrrha, Nora and Ren all shook their heads at the notion of Jaune. Yang just sighed thinking maybe it was just a bit much to invite him hear to the reunion...after all it held painful memories for him.
Yes today was a Beacon reunion and almost everyone would be attending.
Well almost everyone...
"Maybe...asking him to come was a mistake..." Yang said out loud as she leaned on bumblebee.
"Maybe...but it's...been three years since it happened but I don't think that pain will go away anytime...if at all" Ren told her as she just weakly nodded.
"Come on...let's go in and enjoy the party, it's hard but Jaune...needs to grieve for how ever long that takes him" Pyrrha said to which Yang mulled over it a bit befpre feeling a hand on her shoulder she looked into Blake's amber eyes.
Smiling a bit, she nodded and the small little family walked back in to the school to enjoy the night.
In the courtyard on the main entrance side, a blonde man walked down the main doors, the full moon casting its glow on him as he continued his trek straight, his goal insight. A statue.
He finally stopped a few feet away from the statue as his blue eyes stared sadly at the rock.
The statue was that of a girl her weapon, a scythe which folds into a high impact sniper rifle, being held gracefully as her cape was captured fluttering in the wind.
The man's eyes looked down at the plaque.
'In loving memory of our hero.
A Sister, mentor, friend and wife Ruby Rose Arc'
A shuddered sigh escaped him before his hand produced a mini loud speaker.
"I know how much you loved my singing...so here's one too you strawberry" the man said as he press play on his scroll its Bluetooth feature active as the soft strums of a guitar started to play as the moon cast its light over the blondes face revealing an older Jaune.
(Donna by Darko_US)
Jaune: 'I saw you again
Where we used to stand
And talk for hours
I can smell the flowers'
Brief flashes of time spent out in the court yard just lazing about and spending time together fill his mind.
Jaune: 'I tried to see the good in everything
Now that you've come and left
I feel this energy between us
It's like I'm dancing here with your ghost
Your fingers weave a home into mine
And every dusk alone within my mind
And every night I drown within our bed
I know the thoughts are just here, remind of of the beautiful things'
The nice memories were soon replaced with cold loneliness after her passing. The empty space on his bed, and that horrid empty feeling of waking up next to nothing in the morning.
Jaune: 'The better days have gone away
But your words have burned so deep in me
To say I could forget the dream
I'd choke right on that misery
The days grow long, the years pass by
I'll never forget the time between you and I
Between you and I'
Funny how fast time is...it didn't even felt like that much time when they were together...I guess that life as huntress/huntsman.
Jaune: 'I tried to see the good in everything
now that you've come and left
I feel this energy between us
its like I'm dancing here with your ghost
Your fingers weave a home into mine
And every dusk alone within my mind
And every night I drown within our bed
I know the thoughts are just here, remind us of the beautiful things'
Yes. Love was a very beautiful thing to have, and he was grateful and happy to have loved someone as vibrant and beautiful as her.
As the guitar continued playing, unbeknownst to Jaune, Yang was watching from behind having decided to get some fresh air but was shocked to see Jaune their and most importantly singing.
She let him continue staying quiet as she just listened with tears in her eyes as he poured his aching heart out.
The song was finally coming to its final verses.
Jaune: 'I tried to see the good in everything
Now that you've come and left
I feel this energy between us
It's like I'm dancing here with your ghost
Your fingers weave a home into mine
And every dusk alone within my mind
And every night I drown within our bed
I know the thoughts are just there, remind us of the beautiful things'
Yang silently walked up behind him before wrapping her arms around his chest as tears began falling from his eyes, not stunned that he had listeners before finally closing out brokenly.
Jaune: 'I saw you again
Where we used to stand...
And talk for hours...
I can smell the flowers...'
The smiling face of Ruby was the only thing that filled his mind as the song finally ended and Jaune just crumpled to a broken heap with Yang going down with him daring not to let go as they both sobbed together at the loss of a loving sister and a wife.

Insidious
Ruby wakes up burning.
I am once again ignoring how implausible this actually is in canon because this idea won't leave me alone. This is set in the early part of volume 4. Content warning for mentions of hospitals. Enjoy!
It starts, innocently enough, with a scrape.
It's the end of a long day and Ruby's aura is running low after their latest set of fights. So, when she notices the scrape on her side she just sighs and makes sure to clean it out thoroughly before bandaging it and collapsing into her sleeping bag. It's been a series of exhausting days since they fought the geist and Ruby discovered what Jaune was doing at night. Her mind has been whirling with what she should say to Jaune about what she knows (or if she should say anything) and the worry and guilt about her sister that refuses to go away no matter how much time passes and how much she shoves it down.
Oh, and then there's the nightmares of the Fall of Beacon, of Penny and Pyrrha dying. So yeah, Ruby could really stand to catch a break.
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon. The next morning Ruby wakes up groggy and sore, and walking all day in the muggy heat only seems to make things worse. By the time they make camp for the night (half a day's walk from the nearest village, which is frustrating, but none of them want to risk making the journey in the dark) Ruby has barely enough energy to finish help setting up their arrangements before collapsing into bed.
Right before she's about to drift off, she belatedly realizes that she really should clean and redress the scrape on her side again. But she's so tired. Surely it can wait until morning, right?
Apparently not.
Ruby wakes up burning.
Gasping, she flings the top of her sleeping bag away from her, trying in vain to escape the overwhelming heat. When that has no effect, she pushes herself clumsily to her feet, staggering in the direction of the spring she remembers being nearby, with the hope of submerging herself in the water until she cools down some.
Her side throbs angrily as she moves, but she ignores it. The heat is unbearable.
"Ruby? What are you doing?"
Jaune is proud of himself for his reaction when he finds a delirious Ruby stumbling around the camp in the middle of the night: he takes a minute to panic, then forces himself to pull it together. He gently stops Ruby from wandering too far and wakes Ren and Nora, urging them to pack up camp and get a move on. Ruby is obviously sick, too sick for them to treat on their own, and the next village is large enough that it should have a doctor on site. It's their best chance.
He's proud of how quickly his team gets it together. Within minutes they've got everything packed up and they're on the move, Ren doing his best to mask their emotions and hide them from any Grimm that might be lurking nearby.
Team JNRR—no, team RNJR—has really come a long way.
The sun is rising on the horizon by the time they arrive in the village. Practically as soon as they set foot inside the town—and the few people that happen to be awake spot the obviously sick Ruby—their little group is ushered over to the building where the doctor works. Actually, this village is large enough that it's more like a proper hospital.
Ruby is whisked away from them and they're left to wait for what seems like an eternity in the small waiting room. Next to Jaune, Nora bounces anxiously, while on her other side Ren looks as stoic as ever. Jaune can feel the tension radiating off him, though.
"Do you think she'll be okay?" Nora asks, uncharacteristically quiet, her green eyes wide with worry.
"I don't know," Jaune admits, not wanting to give her false hope. "I hope so. I'm sure that the doctors are doing everything they can." They've lost too many people already.
Just when Jaune is about to finally give in and ask if they can see their friend, a nurse appears at the door and gestures to him. He almost trips over his chair in his eagerness to comply, blushing as he rights himself before making his way over more cautiously.
"Your friend has an infected wound," the nurse tells him. "Her prognosis is looking good and she should recover fine with treatment, but at the moment she is refusing to calm down, which is putting unnecessary strain on her body. We don't want to sedate her, as that would also be too hard on her system while she is ill."
"I'll talk to her, try to get her to settle down somewhat," Jaune promises. Normally he would ask Ren to help him with Ruby, but his friend is already exhausted from shielding them from nocturnal Grimm. Jaune will have to take care of this one on his own.
He relays Ruby's diagnosis to Nora and Ren, asking them to try to find a place to stay while he goes to see Ruby, since the doctor is only allowing one visitor at a time right now. They agree, reluctantly exiting the clinic with only a few glances over their shoulders at him. Jaune sighs. The sun has only been up for an hour or so and he's already exhausted.
But there's no time to rest. With the rest of his team taken care of, he rolls his shoulders and goes to see Ruby. She looks too small against the stark white of her hospital bed, wrapped up in wires and tubes. Her face is pinched with pain and deathly pale under the flush from the fever. As soon as he steps into the room, glazed silver eyes lock onto his face.
"Jaune!" she mumbles urgently, slurring her words slightly. "You have to, have to warn Pyrrha! And Penny! They're, they're in danger!'
"I will," he promises quietly. He's not going to remind her of what actually happened when she's this out of it. "Why don't you get some rest? It'll make you feel better."
She shakes her head violently. "No, I can't," she insists weakly. "Yang. I have to—I need to tell her I'm sorry. For everything."
"Ruby, it's okay. I'm sure that Yang understands. Just please, get some sleep."
Again, she just shakes her head, mumbling incoherently under her breath about her sister. She's not settling down at all, and Jaune feels like a failure. How can he calm Ruby down when she's this worked up?
A sudden idea strikes him, and he digs through his pocket until he finds his scroll. Without thinking too much about what he's doing (because if he does, he'll realize that there's no way this could work), he scrolls through his contacts until he gets to Yang's number and dials it. Miraculously, the call connects and Yang's voice filters through the tinny speakers of his scroll. "Hello?"
Jaune quickly switches his scroll to speaker mode. "Hey, Ruby, it's Yang."
At the mention of his sister, Ruby goes rigid. "Yang?" she asks quietly.
"Yeah, it's me. What's going on, Ruby?"
"Yang, 'm so sorry," Ruby sobs. "For everything." She trails off, continuing to mumble about how sorry she is.
Yang sighs. "It's okay, Ruby. I forgive you. I'm sorry for what I said too. Do you understand?"
"Yes," Ruby sniffles loudly, but already she's becoming calmer. "Thank'you, Yang."
"No problem, sis," Yang replies. "Now, Rubes, you're not sounding so good. Why don't you try to get some rest?"
Ruby's eyes are already half shut, but she still bobs her head in a tiny nod. "M'kay. Love you, Yang."
"I love you too."
By the time Yang finishes talking to Jaune, the sun is high in the sky. He tells her about what happened, about waking up in the middle of the night to find Ruby sick from an infected wound and rushing her to the hospital, how she'd been treated but wouldn't calm down, so he'd called her as a last resort and miraculously gotten through.
Or, more accurately, the hospital had a scroll signal extender that had allowed him to reach her. In the end, the result is the same. It's a relief to hear her sister's voice, but after the call Yang finds herself more worried than ever. Jaune promises to keep looking after her sister before he hangs up, leaving Yang alone in her room with just her thoughts for company.
She sighs heavily. So much for her seething jealousy and resentment at Ruby for going out on her adventures and leaving Yang behind. Her sister is out there risking her life, constantly in danger, and Yang isn't there to protect her and have her back.
Well. Yang looks over at the prosthetic arm that her father had presented to her so excitedly, waiting eagerly to be tried out. She can keep moving forwards. It's all up to her to decide what to do.
She's got work to do.

Optimistic Realism: Support Character Purpose
This may be my last rant about this show. As usually it’s my opinion and if you agree then like or reblog, your choice. If you want to add on to this or have a question then comment. If you disagree, fine, but afraid to leave a comment.  Read this at your own will and time.
I know I been talking about RWBY a lot, mainly about Jaune Arc, however I am going for a new approach. I am going to discuss what I feel should have been implied in the show between team RWBY and JRN from the beginning and how it should have played in volume seven. And that is with in the title, Optimistic Realism. It’s basically a combination of optimism with realism. But, before we discuss this, let us first know what they mean individually and see who fits in with that definition.
Optimism as stated on the internet, "Is believing no matter how bad things get there will always be a bright future ahead." Basically, staying positive. Team RWBY fits this definition considering each of them are based on characters with these traits. We have seen that in volume one through three on their missions and during the fall. They always go with the flow and stay positive even when things seem impossible. Even in volume four and five they had to regain some of their courage in order to continue forward but to win the battle at Heaven. In volume six, even put their positivity to test, considering what they learned about their world and Salem. Knowing that information crippled them allowing the Apathy to take over, and them barely making it out alive.
Now for realism. Basically "Having to deal with a situation at hand, to the best of your ability." Team JNR fits this well because their based-on warriors. Warriors in order to get stronger they must train, and gain experience while going through hardship. In volume one to three Jaune had to get stronger because of world he chose inhabit. Pyrrha had to deal with being outcasted by her peers and teachers. Ren and Nora do to the fact that they have no home to return to, being hunters was the only thing they had going for them. When the fall happened Pyrrha died leaving team JNR broken. In volume four, Jaune mourns over Pyrrha just like Ren with his home. In volume five, team JNR were ready to fight Oscar the moment he mentions Ruby’s name and Jaune still attacked Cinder, all for realistic reasons. And in volume six, team JRN like team RWBY were upset with the information they were given, and in order to continue, they realistically have no choice because one; Pyrrha died for this. Two; they came to far to fail. And three; might as well not let the next generation have to deal to with Salem. Even volume seven they act real. Jaune and Nora may have stated facts about James’s actions but due to the situation at hand they still followed orders.
Now before I continue let me explain what I believe a support character's job is. Support characters do not just heal or defend the main character. The support characters help the main characters by being stronger, smarter, or have a better since of their emotions than they do. They do not have to be cool or invincible. Zoro, from One Piece, is Luffy’s second in command because he asserts authority. And Nami is third because she can make a plan for the crew to follow. Luffy is too carefree to do any of that. Edward, from Full Metal Alchemist, has Scar, Winry and Mustang. Scar because he knows more about alchemy than Ed does. Mustang considering, he is a soldier of the military, knows more about the complications of city affairs and knows when to take necessary action over being pacifistic. And both are more powerful than Ed and Al are. Winry despite not doing much continues to encourage Ed to get stronger, to see his goal through, and goes anywhere Edward may be to help repair his arm and leg. Basically, the support character's job is not just to be some cheerleader, but serve as guidance and guardians, people who act in the main characters best interest even when he or she may not know it yet. Or if it is mixed in with their own.
Now with that out the way, let us discuss how optimism and realism could affect their actions in volume seven. Yes, James was acting like a nice guy, however it ran the risk of us hating our main characters for their actions. To me, volume seven was like Clover said, "The right choice is the hardest to make." However, his words hold no weight when we the audience had no choice but to side with James because the other two factions were doing nothing but stealing and lying in his face. So here is how I would in some levels re write volume seven.
In volume seven, let us keep half of everything the same. The group become professional hunters, Penny is framed, Jacque still wins the election, Robyn goes criminal and Yang still tells her everything. Instead of team RWBY and JNRO thus far doing nothing, they should have been more active. Now after Yang tells Robyn the truth and lies to the Ace-ops about her getting away, returns to Atlas to their dorms, only to have everyone waiting for them. Ruby decides to talk somewhere private where James or anyone outside their group could not hear them. Truth of the matter is Ruby and the others were already suspected of Yang and Blake, since one, Yang never backs down from a fight and two, Blake has a history of rebellion. The two know they cannot hide, so they admitted to what they done. This led to an argument amongst them with Weiss and Oscar taking Yang's side and Ren and Nora, not so much, until Ruby and Jaune silence them, demanding they return to their dorms and discuss the matter tomorrow.
The next day, early in the morning, Ruby and Jaune decided to talk about the matter themselves. This led to them arguing with each other. Jaune using levels of facts while Ruby uses levels of reasoning and opinion. Both continued to yell at each other until they reach a conclusion. Ruby and Jaune both agreed what Robyn is doing is wrong, but they cannot deny James recent actions to be affective either. So, they made an idea to mix their teams together with Jaune going after Robyn and Ruby staying in Atlas trying to talk with James. Jaune teams up with Nora, Yang and Blake considering all three of them want to help Mantle. Ruby gets Ren, Weiss and Oscar, since Weiss knows Atlas, Ren sides with James and James will not let Oscar out of his sight. Now the real fun begins.
Jaune and his new team JNBY, goes around the streets of Mantle along with Penny to fight grimm and come up with a strategy to capture Robyn and the happy huntresses. However, Jaune wanted to be clear that he is not trying to arrest her but persuade her to surrender and go talk to James. He tells them while Ruby and Oscar tries to reason with James and investigate Weiss's father, they will be watching for Tyrian while chasing down Robyn. Basically, they are trying to make two factions come together and fight against a common enemy. Jaune and his team later manages to capture Robyn only for the citizens to shame them and demand they let her go. Jaune does release them out of their cuffs, however, remember, Jaune is representing realism, so while the crowd is cheering and Robyn celebrates her victory, Jaune makes it clear to her on what is happening. Jaune using facts, expressing his experience and asking questions in which Robyn could not answer, made her think for moment that something big is coming and she will not be able to protect the people from it. Basically, Robyn was sorrowing up in the air, only for Jaune to slam her back into reality and making her choose a realistic approach to solving a matter, even if the people may not agree with her. Putting her in James’s shoes.
Ruby and her new team RWRO, goes on missions to defend and find resources for the new tower. Oscar would continue trying to talk to James but also trains. Weiss tries to figure out if her father had cheated the votes only for Jacque to stop her at every turn. Ren was still being true to James, reports to him but keeps their secret about Jinn and Salem from him. At first, Ren was about to squeal but when James heard what team JNBY were doing, he became skeptical about it and order his men to keep an eye on them. Even willing to fight them if they pose a threat. When Ren heard this, he started believing James may not be as noble as he thought he was. So, he kept his mouth shut and informs Ruby on what is going on. Ruby then informs Jaune in return that way James's soldiers do not get in their way. Finally, when she hears team JNBY captured Robyn and persuaded her to talk to James, she was happy but after the links James went through, because of his suspicions, she decided to tell him the truth. Once he heard everything, he was furious and more importantly scared. However, Oscar using his words persuaded him to see things through. James accepts the truth and was willing to talk to Robyn. Good timing too because team JNBY were about to fight the Ace-ops.
This is when we can consider James a villian or an anti-hero. James turns from being a reasonable man to an unreasonable dictator when him and Robyn meet face to face. Robyn agreed to his demands to return all the stuff she stole as long as James continues to protect Mantle. However she still wanted the wall to be repaired, and the security to be moderate as Atlas so no one can gain control very easily as they did at the rally. James refuses, believing it to be a waste of time. This is where Ruby and Jaune get angry. Jaune tells James what was on his mind about Robyn, believing what Robyn states is fair considering half of the soldiers down in Mantle are robots, and she was willing to return what she stole and maybe assist them in capturing Tyrian. But James believing in his military might does not listen. He then told his Ace-ops to take Robyn away, only her to pull off one last trick up her sleeves. She fired a heavy flash arrow grenade, blinding everyone and escapes.
After that, Ruby and others were in the training room, trying to practice, only to feel apathetic. They felt defeated. Qrow and Maria tried to cheer them up but decided to let them be. Ruby apologized, thinking she never should have told James anything, only for Yang to say the opposite, stating at least he knows what’s at stake. Jaune questions her statement based on what they already saw so far, feels James has no clue at all, only for Oscar to calm him down before he goes too far. Weiss asked what they are going to do now. Nora suggested they just leave and go to Vacuo, Ren suggested maybe stay in Mantle and try to keep it safe, only for Ruby to tell everyone to be prepared for the worst. The gang were surprised and turns to Jaune, only for him to nod his head in agreement. Jaune stated facts, if they turn on James, they will be wanted national criminals. If they go about recklessly it could makes things worse than they already are. And if they do not know what Salem could be planning then they might as well be setting Atlas up to be destroyed. Everyone despite how cruel they feel, understood and decided to keep training and prepare for the next day.
And that is all. Salem never shows up, James still wants to continue with the new tower, Robyn is relevant and RWBY and JNRO are now fully active. Basically, what I hated about the seventh volume is it was completely one sided. James was the only good guy, the main characters were not active but reactive to their situations, and Robyn was just some nobody who could have served a purpose in story. Nobody but James was given any sort of character. And those who did get some character, did not deserve it. Like Yang, who was supposed to have more of a problem with keeping secrets especially from James.
So, what do I want out of all this? Simply, give everyone a role to play other than the main characters. The main characters do not have to do everything. If team JNRO can relate to or handle a situation better than team RWBY can, then let them do their jobs. Team RWBY can still be stronger than them but they cannot always be wiser or more decisive than everyone else. They can be reckless but give a group like Jaune, Ren, Oscar and Nora an ability to grab them by their hairs or the collar of their shirts and know when to tell them; Jaune to Yang: "Calm down and think."; Ren to Blake: "Focus."; Nora to Weiss: "It's okay."; and Oscar to Ruby: "Slow down and listen." Team JNRO unlike team RWBY suffered the most out all the characters. Jaune lost Pyrrha because she was stupid to go back to fight Cinder. Ren and Nora lost their homes and families because hunters were never there. And Oscar literally had to leave his home behind and may never see his aunt and uncle again, since he could die or fade from existence. What I am saying is give support characters room to breathe and grow so they can continue to do their jobs. Which is to act in the main characters best interest.

=Chapter 24
A week went by with very little word from the police. Weiss and her mother and brother had to go down to the station and testify about Jacques Schnee’s behaviour, and that seemed to be enough to convince them that they shouldn’t let him out quite yet. When asked if they would like to see him, Weiss flatly refused, but her mother waffled, unsure if she should. Weiss told her she should wait until she was sure and that did the trick.
Whitley seemed no better for having seen his father. During the car ride home, he had suddenly announced, “Can I be sent to military school?”
“What?” their mother asked in shock. “Military school? Why would you want that?”
“Well, it seems to have made Winter happy. And…” Shrugging, he looked out the window. “I can’t tell which of you is lying. You or Father. So I’d rather just go away and not have to think about it anymore.”
“How dare you,” Weiss snapped. “How dare you think Mother and I would lie about anything like-”
“It’s alright, Weiss,” she sighed wearily as she drove. “In his situation, I can understand; both of his parents are accusing the other of being a terrible person. Honey… do you really want this?”
“Yes, I think I would. Or I think it’s best. I…” His voice faded, and he didn’t seem to have anything else to say.
“Then I’ll look into it for you. But I am sorry you feel this way.”
Very softly, he whispered, “I am, as well.” And no more was discussed.
There was another visit to the Branwen home two days later that went better than the last. Raven stayed out of their way entirely, and Yang was in even better spirits. Weiss took a spot on the bed next to her and even Ruby, who had been less privy to their relationship, said nothing about how much they were cuddling. It was nice, having a space like that outside of Shopkeeper's where they could be themselves.
And Yang was maybe a little too affectionate, if the playful “ewwww” from Ruby when they kissed was any indication. But that was her only protest.
Frequent visits from Kali turned into daily visits. She was busy working at her restaurant, so it still meant a lot of very lonely days for Weiss’s mother, but she tried to drop by as often as possible. Together, they began to piece together a plan of attack for when Jacques was healed up and would be trying to piece his life back together. Though Willow had no idea why they needed to be so thorough, Kali assured her that these were necessary steps to protect their monetary well-being. Weiss stopped being able to follow along with their discussions, so she eventually retired to her own room and focused on homework instead.
Friday evening was the first time Yang's shoulder was healed up enough that she could venture out of the house. Though it meant being chauffeured instead of riding her motorcycle, which was still being repaired anyway, she was glad to hit Shopkeeper's and see all her friends again. They had nothing but kind and encouraging words for her, other than the odd teasing about her being too much of a “daredevil” for her own good. Cinder insinuated that she had only wiped out to get all that attention, and Yang told her to go sit on a fork. The only response from the smirking girl was “Ooohh, kinky.”
Salem expressed further concern about Weiss's situation, and her usefulness to the Dragons. Though Kali had already informed her of their plans, and she was satisfied with them thus far, she told their newest recruit to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity from the man now that he was essentially her enemy. Having to think of her father that way hurt… but it was too accurate to bother arguing with her.
Meanwhile, it seemed as if Blake was content just to see Yang again. Weiss had been a little worried about that, and about whether or not there would be lingering feelings of jealousy. But there weren’t. She still looked a little sad when no one was watching her too closely, but Weiss understood; she was working through it at her own pace. She would just have to be there for her whenever she could.
------------------------------------------------
To help make up for such an atypical week, Pyrrha loaned Weiss her car on Saturday night so she and Yang could go to the drive-in. Weiss had learned the rules of the road from her father, but he was such an overbearing terror in the car that she didn’t attempt it very often. After a few rocky stops and starts, and nearly running a red light, Yang laughed and took over, guiding them into a spot near the back of the lot.
“So this is pretty cozy, eh?” Yang whispered as they settled in with their popcorn in Pyrrha's front seat. The movie was just starting, so it was nothing but musical score and credits drifting by.
“Yeah, I'll say.” Weiss didn't want to admit how nervous she was. It was the first time they had been alone since she helped dry her off - and that had been only a fleeting moment. There might have been dozens of other cars parked around theirs, but none of them cared about the two girls. They had their own dates to make it with. “How’s your shoulder?”
“I’ll live.” Her finger tapped the small metal speaker unit hanging on the driver's side window. “This alright? Can you hear?”
Snuggling into her side, Weiss said, “Perfectly well. Besides, I've seen ‘South Pacific’ at least five times.”
The smile that blossomed on the Dragon's face was a bit more reminiscent of the ones she wore when they first began speaking, and promised much. “So… does that mean you don't mind missing the flick?”
“Quiet, you. I'm very interested in sharing this musical masterpiece with my… my girlfriend.” Their shared smile was warm and shy. “Wow. It's nice to be able to say that.”
“Yeah. And… well, we’ve been kind of funny about saying it, but it’s definitely not ‘cause I don’t want to! Just weird, hanging around my sis all the time, and with Kali-”
Weiss cut her off with a gentle press of lips on lips, her hand sliding up her neck to cup her cheek. The response was immediate and enthusiastic; Yang pushed her back against the passenger door, humming into the union of their mouths. Even though she had initiated this, the rich girl felt herself completely powerless to resist, melting beneath her brute as their bodies writhed and the windows fogged.
The kiss was broken with a quiet little “ow!” from Yang. Weiss pulled back, concern in her eyes.
“Just my arm,” she breathed, eyes serious yet dazed with the power of their affection. “I'm fine.”
“Come on, you said it was okay. Here.” She began to knead it gently. “Is that better?”
Violet eyes fluttered closed. “Mmmm… yeah. Thanks, babe.”
“Of course. I take care of what's mine.” They both shared a knowing smile. “We're not watching the movie.”
“What movie?”
“Brute,” she purred in a voice that was anything but accusatory, petting her hand up and down the lapel of Yang's jacket. “Uncultured Philistine.”
The last one made Yang's eyebrows shoot up a little higher. “Oh yeah? Think I can't enjoy this dumb movie of yours, Princess?”
The teasing had apparently backfired very slightly. Weiss was definitely more interested in Yang than in the movie, but Yang was now turning around to face it properly, pulling the popcorn bucket back into her lap from where it had been resting on the dashboard. Slapping her shoulder only made Yang shush her so she could pay attention.
“You're really going to watch it now, huh?”
“Yep.”
“Hmm… good.” Even though the prospect of spending a few minutes fogging up the windows appealed to her greatly, Weiss decided this was just as good and snuggled back into her side, reaching into the bucket.
That went on for a good long while. Weiss hummed along with the songs and relished the closeness. Much to her own surprise, Yang seemed to be enjoying the film, as well, even laughing at some of the key comedic points. All the while, her arm remained around Weiss's shoulders, and she began to realize that she could stay there forever and not feel like she was missing out on anything else in the world. She hadn't been expecting to find someone to be that close to for many years yet - especially not a woman that she had barely known for a few scant weeks! Life had really thrown her for a loop.
“Your lips are salty,” Yang giggled after a brief kiss.
“Hey! Yours are, too!” Settling in again, she began to pet up and down Yang's ribs beneath her jacket. It prompted a quiet hum of appreciation. “Like that?”
“Yeah. You feel really good right there. And here,” she added, squeezing her shoulders to illustrate what she meant.
“I would certainly hope so.”
They lapsed into silence for a few more minutes. Then Yang whispered, “Hey.”
“Yes?”
“Uh… I haven't really said it yet, but thanks. For everything: saving me, and dealing with Raven, and… Ruby… you've just been really great, and I don't deserve-”
“Shhh,” she shushed her, petting a little more vigorously. “Thank you for saying so, but I don’t need you to. It’s… I think Kali said it best when she said you and the other Dragons are my family now. And family does things like that for each other. It was a pleasure. Really.”
Yang suddenly set the popcorn aside again, turning so that she was kneeling in the floorboard and gazing up into Weiss’s eyes. Her hands clasped Weiss’s tightly, causing the shorter teenager to blink back at her. She was expecting something very risque… and suddenly got something even better.
“I’m really in love, Weiss. I never thought… I mean, uh… ain’t so good with words,” she admitted with a lopsided smile, and Weiss spared a small one of her own. “You were my dream girl. Then we started talking, and I was worried you weren’t because you hated me. Plus, you were kind of a brat.”
“Hey!”
“Come on, it’s true,” she laughed, and Weiss laughed with her. “But just in these last few weeks, I think we both grew up a little. Got to know each other, and more about the world. And now…”
As Yang raised their hands up between them, lacing their fingers together, Weiss finished for them, “Now we fit together perfectly. Like links in a chain.”
“Yeah. Is that crazy? Am I just real gone?”
“We’re both real gone, Yang,” she whispered softly, heart pounding in her ears and stomach fluttering in time with its beats. “I want to be your wife. Or you to be mine, or… oh, I’m being so silly; we can’t be that to each other. But I don’t care!”
“Me, neither. I just want you in my life forever. And that’s…”
Words had run out. Yang leaned up to kiss her again, and Weiss threw herself into the contact even more than the last time. Nellie and Emile were singing to each other so earnestly in the background that she couldn’t imagine a better place and time to live. She wanted to always be there, with Yang, in that car.
The transition was so natural she almost could have missed it. One moment, their lips were engaged - many moments, actually. Then she felt lips moving down her chest, to her stomach through the soft cotton dress she wore. Her own hands lifted to glide through Yang’s hair, holding on for dear life as she wondered what was about to happen to her. There weren’t a great deal of possibilities. Either Yang had dropped something, or…
“Oh.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Yang paused to look up at her. “Tell me to stop.”
“I…”
“Tell me to keep going.” Her throat clearly worked to swallow before she kissed her thigh through the layers of fabric. “Tell me… whatever it is you want.”
It took a lot of willpower for Weiss to find the words she needed. “Keep g-going. I…” She had to look away to admit it. “I need you.”
Even as Yang kissed down her thigh to her knee, still sheltered by her dress, she could feel the stirrings from before. Why did the bruiser have such a strong effect on her entire system? It boggled her mind. Almost as if she were still an inch away, memories of Yang’s fragrant sex filled her mind - the taste of her, the sounds of her writhing beneath her at every touch. And she was about to have that paid back in full. Was she ready?
No. But she was through waiting to be ready.
When Yang began to lift her skirt and petticoats, a little squeak of alarm blasted out of her throat anyway. Yang paused to whisper, “Too much?”
“No, Yang. I want more. I’m just…” Her shoulder shrugged helplessly. What she was made no difference.
Kisses moved up the insides of her thighs, over her stockings until they reached the tops where they ended in lace. The first kiss on skin was so close to her center that she had to suppress the powerful urge to clamp both legs around Yang’s head to hold her still; instead, she merely twitched. A single light peck against the crux of her entire being was enough to make her fall back against the seat, eyes clamped shut in mingling fear and anticipation.
“You’re ready,” Yang breathed softly, as gentle as a lamb where she was normally ravenous as a wolf – even if the hunger was burning just under the surface. “At least… you smell ready.”
“Sh-shut up,” she breathed very softly. “Is it bad?”
“No, no. It’s incredible.” Yang nuzzled her inner thigh as her fingers drifted upward. “Can I…?”
There were certainly no words of protest. Weiss pressed a hand into her eyes as she felt cool air caress her wetness, followed by the warmth of breath. This was insane. Could she really let a woman do this to her? Let anyone? She was starting to believe her nerves had a lot more to do with reservations about allowing anyone to get this close to her, rather than the gender of the person in question. And for her to finally allow Yang to return this favour…
Yang must have felt her reticence, because she appeared above the skirts again, face flushed and eyes dark with desire. “It’s beautiful. You’re beautiful.”
“Yang…” Swallowing hard, Weiss looked to one side so she wouldn’t see the single tear that escaped her guard. “Thank you, my darling.”
Lips on her waiting petals caused her to lose all sense of time, direction… the world became as fogged as their windows. The heels of her baby blue pumps gouged into Yang’s back through her jacket but if she felt pain from it, she made a good job of ignoring it in favour of pleasing Weiss. The practiced ease of Yang’s tongue made Weiss’s clumsy attempts pale in comparison. Before she had any chance to even attempt to think of something to ask, a praise to lavish on her for such skill, Yang was finding new ways to caress her most sensitive skin and wring even more pleasure from the moment. All she could manage was to pant, and moan, and suppress the occasional shriek of pure joy that tried to burst from within her. Barely.
Minutes passed and she felt her end building - it could be nothing else. Her hand pressed into Yang’s crown to hold her face precisely where it was as her hips began to rock forward to meet each caress of the eager tongue.
“Yes! Yang! I… yes!!!”
The only response was a low “Mmmhhh” of pure enjoyment. That was the one thing that could have added to her own pleasure: knowing Yang did not consider this a burden, a chore that need be done. They were both swirling through the same eddies and pools of ecstasy.
Which was how Weiss crashed headlong into her first orgasm.
Yang continued her gentle licks for a minute more as Weiss writhed and moaned, thighs trying to trap her there forever, heels no doubt bruising her back. Then the licks turned to kisses, and then the kisses moved down her creamy thigh flesh until reaching the top of her stocking. Her head slowly raised up from the horizon of the skirts to smile at her.
“Woooooow,” Weiss breathed weakly, eyes wide and face hotter than she could ever remember.
“Yeah,” the brute chuckled, though her grin was full of adoration rather than amusement. “Wow.”
After barely a moment's hesitation, Yang quickly kissed the inside of her thigh before tugging her underwear back into place. Trying not to be awkward, she climbed back into her seat - accidentally kicking open the glove box and making both of them burst into giggles. Then they were simply sitting side by side and sharing one of the warmest smiles they had ever worn in their lifetimes.
“So that's why you kept trying to get my dress off all these weeks.”
“Not the only reason, Schnee. But… a big one. Wanted to make you feel good so you'd date me. Never really considered it would last, since you're too good for some meathead like me. Gotta admit, though… this is better.”
Snuggling into her side, letting her entire body relax, she whispered, “This is?”
“Absotively, posilutely.”
“Mmm. But you're not a meathead. You're sweet, and considerate, and strong in the best of ways!”
Out the side of her mouth, she told Weiss, “Not so loud. I got a reputation to keep!” They shared another giggle as Yang petted up and down her arm. “God, I love you.”
“I love you, too. More than I-”
Their moment was interrupted by a knock at the door. Rolling her eyes, Yang turned and shouted, “WHAT?”
“Knock it off in there, you kids! This ain't no motel!”
They couldn't even see the perpetrator of this grave injustice through the fog on the window; just a vague silhouette. Yang decided the most effective way of communicating her displeasure with the interruption was by pressing her middle finger against the glass.
“Yang, that's crude!” Weiss hissed, though she had to try hard to suppress a small giggle.
“You wanna be run out of this drive-in? Huh?”
Realizing that the guy wasn't going to leave them in peace, Yang rolled down her window and glared at him. He was either a teenager or had only been older than that for a year or two, with scraggly brown hair and a missing tooth in the front. His irritated expression gave way to one of shock when he saw the driver was a woman, and it only deepened when he saw the passenger was, as well.
“Listen, chum. We're trying to have a nice time watching this talkie. You're kinda making that less easy. So why don't you make like a tree and leave?”
The man let out a weak little laugh. “H-hey, my mistake! I thought you were a fella, and- well, the windows are all steamed up…”
“That's our business. Thanks for checking in, though. Now take off.”
Now he looked a little creeped out. However, he did nod and moved off, shaking his head as if to rid it of unwanted thoughts.
“Very well-handled,” Weiss whispered as Yang rolled the window back up.
“Thanks, doll. I take care of business.”
“You've taken care of enough business for a week as far as I'm concerned.” They shared a conspiratorial grin. “But now I'm sad.”
“Why?”
“Well, he's paying too much attention for me to be able to go down on you now.”
Yang's blush was honestly so cute and unexpected that Weiss thoroughly enjoyed peppering her face with dozens of little kisses. But she didn't dare get too vigorous lest they attract any further pests.
------------------------------------------------
By the end of the movie, both girls were in high spirits. On top of the world. They decided to revisit the old depot rather than hope for a few stolen moments in anyone's house.
Weiss practically ripped Yang's clothes from her body in her haste to re-engage their bodies; Yang took more care, gently peeling off her beautiful dress and laying it aside. Wandering hands explored curves, lips met over and over, skin shifted against skin. Instead of her mouth, Weiss attempted to use her hand to bring Yang pleasure - and if the reactions we any indication, she was successful. This was crazy; Weiss couldn't believe she was in an abandoned building with a gang member, a woman, naked and unafraid. Their mouths rarely left each other until Yang needed hers to gasp for breath as she reached her finish.
And they didn't stop there. Instead of weeks later, Weiss found out immediately the kind of thrill she had provided Yang when one of the brute’s strong hands snaked down between their bodies. Going from never being quite sure she was aroused to two orgasms in one day was almost too much… but it was a surplus of pleasure she was more than happy to weather.
“Ohhhh,” Yang groaned as she rolled off, panting and gazing up at the half-crumbled ceiling.
“What did… we just do?” They both laughed. “You don't actually… have to explain, I'm not that naive. But WOW!”
Still laughing, Yang petted up and down her bare stomach, making it quiver at the touch of a foreign hand upon it. “You said that already.”
“I mean, I know this is old hat for you, but I'm… honestly surprised. I thought sex was something women just did to keep men happy, and make babies! So all of this with you is really opening my eyes.”
“Hey, watch how you say it's ‘old hat’ for me. I'm not that cheap a floozy!”
Weiss looked horrified. “Oh… oh no, I'm not- that wasn't how I meant that to sound!”
“Don't worry about it,” she laughed, kissing her temple. “I mean, you're right; I've been around the block a time or two. But it's never been so… with you, everything's different. I'd be alright if it was just you and me for the rest of our lives.”
“Really?” When Yang nodded, she wrapped her body even tighter around the Dragon, feeding off her warmth, her strength. “Oh, I love you so much!”
Burying her face in Weiss's neck, the bruiser whispered urgently, “Love you, too, baby. Chee… you really do like me. Really?”
For a few seconds, Weiss didn't reply. Then she drew back to gaze down into the stunned, overwhelmed features of her lover. She felt like singing! Therefore, she did - and didn't trouble to keep her voice down.
“Younger than springtime am I! Gayer than laughter am I!” Even before she continued, she could see Yang blinking in surprise. “Angel and lover, heaven and earth, am IIIIIIIII wiiiiiith yoooooouuuu!!!”
Then she felt a little silly - especially when Yang started clapping. Why had she allowed herself to be such a square? Just when she was about to shout at her for poking fun, she saw the look of pure wonder in the blonde’s features.
“DANG! How did I not know you can sing?! I mean… I've heard you hum a little, but you can really sing, like rings around Peggy Lee! You're phenomenal!”
“Oh, stop,” she muttered with a bashful smile.
“Are you out of your tree? I wanna hear more!” She sat up and slid her hands around Weiss's trim waist, eyes sparkling as she gazed up at her. “Baby, you're gonna be a star! Like… like Judy Garland or something!”
Now the smile was even more bashful, and the color that had begun to fade from her cheeks rushed back in with a vengeance. “What? Please, I'm not that good!”
“Better! You could beat the ruby slippers off her!” When Weiss rolled her eyes, she insisted, “Honest, Weiss, I'm… I'm so lucky. I knew that already, but holy hell…”
“Well… my parents wanted me to go to Vassar first, but… I guess I could audition for some musicals while I'm there… and they’ve always insisted I keep up my vocal training.”
“Who cares what they want? This is about what you want.”
The idea of that surprised her a little. What she wanted? What did she want? A successful career, sure. But becoming an international singing sensation was a tempting thought. No one had ever really cared what she wanted out of her future before. However, she only had one immediate answer.
“You.”
After a quiet second, Yang smiled shyly. It still stunned Weiss to see the brute that way. “Come on. Even if you do like gals now, I'm… just some-”
“No, stop that,” she cut her off. “Whatever you're going to say, I don't care. I love who you are, and I've never felt this close to another human being before. And you are… the most beautiful woman the whole wide world.”
“Stop trying to pass the buck. That's you, not me.” Her eyes welled up with tears. “So pretty, and sweet, and comely, and smart… a-and you're the b-best thing that ever happened to me!”
Weiss wasn't used to seeing the tough woman fall apart. What was she supposed to do?! All she could think of right away was to fold the overcome Yang into her arms, petting up and down her nude back and rocking very gently. If anyone deserved to feel like they could let their armor fall away, it was this titan of a woman. She would be her armor when necessary.

“Alright children, it’s time for recess.”
A chorus of cheers erupted from the several young children sitting in their desks as they stood up and raced towards the classroom door. One of the students in that frenzy was Yang Xiao Long, who was definitely one of the more “fearless” kids in her elementary school. She was the kind of child who would stand up for anyone, sometimes getting into fights if she had to. She always wore her heart on her sleeve and fought for what she deemed right.
But today wasn’t one of those days. The usual bullies in her school weren’t giving anyone a hard time. It was a nice change of pace. Her teacher, Ms. Glynda, led her class to the playground, opening the metal doors and letting the kids enjoy their hour of free time. Yang grinned from ear to ear and sprinted towards the jungle gym, her pigtails getting rustled from the physical activity. As soon as she reached the top of the structure, she pretended to be looking through a telephone and scanned the rest of the playground to see what everyone else was doing.
Cardin and Sky were playing tag with each other and running in the grass instead of picking on other kids. Weiss was sitting on the bench singing to herself; she never was very social. Ren and Nora were playing hide and seek, Nora stomping around the wood chips while Ren managed to hide under the slide. Jaune was crying like usual, the reasoning not important in the slightest.
But as Yang’s gaze passed over the swing-sets, she realized that there was a girl that she didn’t recognize. And she was crying! Yang immediately climbed down the jungle gym and rushed over to the dark-haired girl who was sitting on the ground next to the swing, clutching a scraped knee.
“Are you okay? Here, I have a bandaid you can use!” Yang grinned and held out the bandage for the girl to take. The girl sniffled and took it from Yang, putting it on and smiling back at her.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome! I’m Yang! What’s your name? Are you new?”
“I’m Blake, I moved here from Menagerie. You talk a lot.” Blake replied bluntly and looked up at Yang.
“Yeah, that’s what my mom and dad say! It’s nice to meet you! Wanna be friends?” Yang giggled as she held out her hand for Blake to take.
“Okay.” Blake replied as she took Yang’s hand and stood up, dusting the wood chips off of her legs.
From that day forward, they were practically inseparable.
~~~~~
“Truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“Aw come on, that’s boring Blakey!” Yang hollered as she turned to look at Blake, who was braiding Yang’s hair. She was the only person who was allowed to touch it, and honestly the only person Yang wanted to touch her hair besides her dad and sister.
“You know that I’m boring, Yang.” Blake responded as she finished Yang’s hair off with two hair ties and moved to sit on Yang’s bed next to her.
“Of course you’re not boring, you’re my best friend. Oh! I have a good question. Do you have a crush on anyone at Signal?”
“Oh, well I guess that Adam kid is pretty cool.” Blake admitted as she looked out the window into Yang’s backyard and blushed slightly.
“Ohhhh, Blake has a crush! Blake has a crush!” Yang teased as she made a silly face and ran around the room.
“Stop it!” Blake shouted as she chased Yang around the room before they both fell on the floor laughing hysterically.
“What about you Yang? That guy Junior seems to like you..” Blake asked after catching her breath, turning over and looking into Yang’s eyes.
“Junior? Nah, he’s just a friend. I don’t...I don’t really like anyone.” Yang hesitated and stared up at the ceiling.
“I always know when you’re lying, silly. Who do you like?”
“Ugh fine, I’ll tell you. The truth is...I’ve never really liked boys. I think I like girls.” Yang sighed and felt her face heating up. She wasn’t sure how Blake was going to respond to this revelation. She’d known for a few months, but wasn’t sure how to bring it up to her.
“Oh really? I think that’s cool. Adam is really handsome, but Pyrrha is also very pretty.” Blake smiled at Yang and grabbed her hand, squeezing lightly.
“Ah, the transfer girl from Argus Middle School? Yeah, I guess so. Wait what did you just say?” Yang sat up and looked at Blake. She stared down at Blake’s hand and squeezed back, grinning at the dark-haired girl next to her.
“I understand Yang. We might only be 13 years old, but this is when we figure out who we are. I’ll always support you.” Blake smiled gently and wrapped Yang in a hug.
“I’ll always be here for you too.”
~~~~~
“He broke up with me.”
“Oh Blake, come here.”
Outside of Yang’s home was a teary-eyed Blake shivering in the cold. Yang pulled Blake inside and wrapped the girl in a tight hug. Blake sobbed into Yang’s shoulder for what seemed to be hours until she was finally calm enough to talk in full sentences.
“Do you want to go up to my room?”
Blake nodded. Yang grabbed Blake’s hand and took her upstairs into her room, closing the door and locking it. They sat down on Yang’s bed and continued to hold hands. Blake clearly wanted reassurance that Yang would stay.
“Do you wanna talk about it?”
“There..isn’t much to say. He texted me saying that he wanted a break this morning. Adam was never one for confrontation unless it really mattered, so I guess that I was never that important to him in the first place.” Blake sighed as she looked at the ground.
“Of course you're important Blake. You’re the most important person to me out of anyone. Well, you and Ruby are tied, but you know what I mean. Adam was always a piece of shit.” Yang responded by wrapping her arm around Blake’s shoulders and looking her in the eyes. She wiped away the tears on Blake’s cheeks with her thumb and smiled at her.
“Oh..thank you. Yang...I—” Blake started before pausing and cutting off her train of thought. No, this wasn’t right. They were in high school together, and they were best friends, but that’s all that they could ever be. Wishing for something more was pure stupidity.
“What is it Blakey? Do you need something from me?”
“Yang…” Blake shook her head and decided that actions were better than words in this moment. Before she could seriously think it through, Blake caressed Yang’s cheek and placed her hand on the side of Yang’s jaw, pulling her in for a kiss.
After the immediate shock of the situation wore off, Yang put her arms around Blake’s neck and kissed her back gently. Embers crackled to life in Yang’s chest, her heart beating incredibly fast and her stomach filling with butterflies. It was as if their two souls had melded into one during that raw, exposed moment. Running her hand through Blake’s hair, Yang sighed and kissed Blake again like it was the last thing she would ever do.
It was Blake. It had always been Blake. Blake was the one she was meant to be with. Adam was just some obstacle that had stood in the way of what was real.
It was after a few minutes of lapsed judgement that Yang finally pulled away, leaning her forehead against Blake’s and catching her breath.
“Blake...That was...wow.”
“Yeah.”
“I just…” Yang started, inhaling and exhaling a few times while deciding upon what needed to be said.
“Listen Blake. You’re really vulnerable right now, and I’m so sorry that I took advantage of you like that. If this is...If this is what you really want, then in three weeks, come talk to me. I’ll be waiting for you.”
Blake looked into Yang’s eyes and nodded after a minute of silence.
“Yeah. Yeah okay.”
A few minutes later, Blake left Yang’s house and Yang finally exited her bedroom, plopping onto the couch and staring out the window in solace. When she heard Ruby padding around the kitchen most likely looking for some cookies, she turned to face her with a solemn look on her face.
“You love her don’t you? You’re in love with Blake.”
“Ruby I...It’s complicated. You and Weiss were able to figure things out, and now you’re dating. Blake isn’t there yet. She might not ever get there. But yeah, I think..I think I do. Love her.”
Ruby walked over to Yang and wrapped her into a hug.
~~~~~
“Honey, I’m home!”
“Do you really have to do that every time you walk into our apartment?”
“Of course I do! What do you take me for?” Yang responded lightheartedly and walked over to her girlfriend who was standing in the doorway of their bedroom, grasping her face and giving her a swift kiss on the lips.
“You know you love me Blakey.”
“Yes, unfortunately I do.” Blake sighed sarcastically and wrapped Yang in a hug, nuzzling against her collarbone.
“I missed you.”
“Aw, I missed you too baby. Ruby and Weiss are taking extra long to decide on what movie to bring, but they should be here soon.”
“Can’t we just cancel? I wanna spend time with you.” Blake mumbled as she inhaled Yang’s calming scent of citrus and firewood.
“It’s so adorable when you’re clingy. Sorry kitten, it’s too late to cancel now. They‘re probably on their way by now.” Yang whispered as she kissed Blake on the top of the head and hugged her closer.
“I am not clingy. But can we at least cuddle during the movie?”
“Yes you are.” Yang chuckled to herself. “And of course we can snuggle, it’s one of the best things to do during a movie!”
“Oh? And what exactly is better than that?”
“Pranking Ruby and the Ice Queen of course! They fall asleep almost every time, I have so many pictures to blackmail them with.”
“I can’t believe you still call her that.”
“Watching Weiss get annoyed by something so unimportant never grows old.”
“You’re such a dork.”
“Yeah, but I’m your dork.”
The doorbell rang and Ruby and Weiss walked into the apartment, interrupting their train of thought. Ruby ran straight to the living room and popped the movie into the DVD player while Weiss followed behind her, setting her things next to the coffee table.
“What’s up Rubes? Ice queen. Good to see you.”
“Hey! Stop calling me that!”
“Hi Yang! Hey Blake! I brought Nightmare Zombie Town 5!”
“Haven’t we watched this movie like twenty times?” Yang asked as she and her girlfriend moved towards the living room, still holding hands. After Yang gave Ruby her usual noogie, her and Blake sat on the couch and huddled close to each other, the two of them almost constantly inhabiting the same space.
“That’s what I told her, but Ruby insisted.” Weiss sighed as she grabbed Ruby’s hand. “She can be quite persuasive though.”
Yang purposely pretended to gag at Weiss’ admission and kissed Blake’s cheek, settling in to watch the film for the hundredth time.
“How are your classes going Weiss? Have you made any progress on your thesis?” Blake asked Weiss genuinely; she did like hearing about how her friends were doing.
“Classes are fine. My thesis is almost complete, but I need to send it to Ozpin for his approval. What about you two? How are things?” Weiss replied with the utmost sincerity she could give.
“Being an engineering major is rough!” Yang interrupted and laid her hand on Blake’s thigh.
“Yes Yang, engineering is difficult when you sleep in class every day. Anyway, literature has been really enjoyable lately. We’re writing a short story this week.” Blake continued, placing her hand on top of Yang’s. Yang scoffed at her and pretended to pout.
“That’s good to hear. Well, shall we get started?” Weiss offered as she wrapped an arm around Ruby on the floor.
“Yes finally! I’ve been looking forward to this for hours!” Ruby announced, moving closer to Weiss and grinning from ear to ear.
A few hours had passed when Blake finally spoke again, despite Yang’s goofy comments and constant touching throughout the entire movie. Ruby and Weiss had passed out on the floor together, surrounded by a pile of blankets and pillows. However, Blake and Yang were still awake, holding each other closely.
“You know, I’m so glad that you offered to help me that day when we were kids. If not, then I never would’ve met you. I never would’ve fallen for you. You’re my best friend, the one person I would dare to call my soulmate even. I’m so happy that I met you.” Blake whispered, a genuine smile on her face.
“Me too Blake. If it weren’t for you, I may have lived my whole life thinking I was happy. But now I know the truth. You make me feel at home. And that will never change.” Yang whispered in Blake’s ear, bringing her girlfriend into a slow intoxicating kiss that was completely different from every single one before then. This one screamed pure love and adoration, stronger than ever before.
Many more words could’ve been exchanged in that moment, but all that mattered was that they were here, together. Their entire lives had led up to this very moment, hearts beating as one, emotions raw and real. Yang knew that Blake would always be with her. No one needed to tell her that. Blake knew that Yang was the one all along. No one needed to tell her that either. They may not ever get to have a moment like this again, huddled close together with their true emotions revealed and their hearts bared on their chests.
They were okay with that.
I think the biggest problem with Blake and Yang outside of V7 stuff is the fact that prior to anything with Adam they were only given one good scene with just them that showed them as friends: Burning the Candle. Outside of that, Yang constantly brushed off anything regarding Blake and Blake never really showed any sort of attachment to Yang. Then Adam happens and it just feels like that whole plot was put there to make it seem like they care about each other when really, they didn't before.
Yeah, as said I likewise think RT could have done a better job of establishing this early on. Which raises questions of how much/if any of their (presumed) relationship was planned. This is an issue with any serialized storytelling where the authors haven’t carefully thought out every major conflict and relationship prior to releasing parts of the story to the public. You risk the audience wondering where these feelings came from in the same way we’re left wondering about Blake’s parents: why wasn’t this mentioned before? Presumably because it didn’t exist.
In RWBY’s defense, I will say that attachment doesn’t have to be there from the get-go. It’s common and perhaps even preferred in storytelling (Ren/Nora, Jaune/Pyrrha, Adora/Catra, Steven/Connie, etc.) but if we’re being “realistic” not every couple is going to be immediately recognizable as a couple the moment they share screen time together. People do start out as friends - or even just casual teammates - before something changes that dynamic. Which, notably, happens in our canon. Watching Blake confront her ex and getting your arm cut off in an attempt to protect her is one hell of an interaction. As is holding the hand of your unconscious friend knowing what she’s just given up for you. Though RWBY hasn’t made it explicit in terms of dialogue or anything, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to read the beginning of that Adam arc as a kind of wake up call. The moment when both Yang and Blake realize precisely how much they care for one another and begin finding the courage to act on that. Which we then seen as the next two volumes unfold. Yang is consumed not merely by what Adam did to her, but by Blake’s absence in her life and the fact that she (Blake) decided to create that distance. Blake, though not nearly as focused on Yang as an individual, is immersed in other, failed relationships. I know Blake/Sun is pretty popular in the fandom (which is great!), but canonically I picked up very little “flirty annoyance” in volume four. To me, it was just plain annoyance on Blake’s part. She didn’t want Sun following her. She doesn’t like him trying to make her catching him during a fight into something it’s not. She doesn’t like him spying on a personal conversation with her father, etc. RT plays this for comedy - and of course Sun and Blake are still friends by the end, with Blake going so far as to grant him that kiss - but none of Sun’s behavior sat right with me and it certainly wasn’t received well by Blake. That’s a potential romance that (comedy aside) was written as not working. Combine that with Ilia’s reveal - here’s a potential girlfriend that doesn’t work because a) Ilia didn’t come out to Blake earlier and b) by the time she did she was trying to murder her parents - as well as Adam’s connection to all this (let’s send you back to your abusive ex) and Blake’s whole journey outside of Team RWBY is paralleling her horrific/not promising romantic relationships. Which then positions Yang as her ideal. Once they’re together again Blake has a clear idea of what she’s looking for. Yang, as said, has spent the time more overtly missing Blake as an individual. When reunited they’re emotionally in a place to start exploring that thought of, “Hey, maybe I do like her more than just a casual friend or teammate...”
Though yes, things can always be better, this is one of the few times where I think RT’s “show don’t tell” policy functions pretty well. The mere act of separating the group implies that they’re on individual journeys of growth. When they come back together they won’t be the same people anymore. For Ruby that means coming to terms with “This is my fight too!” and the friends she’s lost (even if the execution of that was pretty shaky). For Weiss it means making a clean break from her father and coming into her summoning, a technique associated with her sister. For Blake and Yang it means - in part - learning how important the other is to them now that they’ve gotten a taste of being apart. Of course their relationship with one another won’t look anything like what it was three volumes ago. They’re not the same people. The girls safe at Beacon with all the time ahead of them probably never gave a closer friendship any thought, let alone a relationship. Blake is dealing with her faunus heritage. Yang sees herself as Ruby’s big sis. Developing that friendship outside of the whole group’s dynamic isn’t high on the priority list. But once they’re thrown into a real battle? Once Yang sees her partner lying on the ground with a stab wound? Once Blake watches Yang lose her arm protecting her? I know a moment like that would make me re-evaluate the girl I’d been partnered with.
Water and Ice- Chapter 10: Vale
After the Fall of Beacon
Weiss was back to the Schnee Manor, since Beacon Academy have fallen at the hands of Grimm. All she could do now is just look at her window where airships are flying by. The mansion is nothing but a silent place. The only time there when she has a conversation is when her close confidante and butler, Klein is called to let her know that her father calls. She wishes her sister would be there to assure her that everything will be alright. But the truth is, it isn't. Now Winter is still with the Atlas Military to find some answers about the Fallen Event. The house, no the manor is nothing more than a prison in her father's presence. Her brother minding his own business complaining about his sisters' "barbaric" huntsmen training.
The worse part of the chaos is when she is seeing her friends injured, scared, and sad. Some classmates crying over the loss of their teammates and loved ones. Such horrific images still stuck in her head. Ruby running up to the tower of Beacon to save their friend, Pyrrha Nikos whose battle cannot be won against a formidable foe. Blake, happened to be stabbed on the side of her abdomen. And Yang, whose left arm was cut off trying to help Blake against an enemy. Her teammates are more like sisters to her since the day they formed a team; Team RWBY. It was their first time at the Vytyl Festival, and their enemies have ruined it.
The other worse part of the Fall, is that her father, Jacques have showed up in his ship. "Father?" She said in shock. But her ankles have shaken. But she tried her best to keep her composure. Yang, still lying on the ground, injured. Watches in sadness to see her friend leave. Neptune notices some red flags judging by the slight reaction of Weiss seeing her father. "Time to go, Daughter. There's no use in staying in this useless obstruction." Jacques said coldly. Making the students shocked of what he was saying. Neptune gently grabbed her wrist as she reluctantly walked towards him.
"Hey, you don't have to." He insisted. Making Weiss flustered. But she shook her head and pulled away her hand. "Sorry, everyone. I have to go." She apologized.
"Don't make me warn you again, Weiss." He sounded more serious. That's when Nora Valkyrie, a ginger-haired girl with a black sweater vest, white shirt and pink skirt came to her defense that Weiss wasn't asking for to not cause trouble for them. "Hey, old man! She doesn't have to go if she doesn't want to! So why don't you just pack up and leave?!" Nora yells at him. As her friend Ren, a raven-haired boy tried to intervene before she hurts anybody.
"Yeah! Go home before we make you sorry!" Sun backed up.
"Weiss, come on." Neptune offers to take her away from the conflict. But seeing how ruthless and powerful her father was, she knew things would be worse for her friends if she resists. She takes one look at Neptune one last time before departure. "I'm sorry, I have to go. There's nothing we can do now. However, I wish you all safe." Weiss stepped inside the ship before it lifts off.
Back in the Manor
Weiss is sitting on her bed waiting for her sister to at least come home for a visit to feel better. Everywhere she goes in the manor, her father has constant eyes. Then a knock on the door. It was her butler, Klein. Despite working under her father, he was the closest friend and father figure Weiss had been close to when she was younger. He didn't like the way Jacques have treated his daughter. So he tried his best to keep her happy while keeping in low profile. "Ms. Schnee."
"Yes, Klein?"
"I believe this letter is for you. I must say, I never thought you'd be getting letters since you left for Beacon. Let me know if there's anything I can do."
"Thank you, Klein." She nods after Klein have left for other occupations around the household. Weiss then looks at the letter, there was no return address. But she opened it to see who the letter belongs to by reading it.
"Hey Snow Angel,
How have you been? I was wondering if you're okay. I know it wasn't the best time writing to you this letter. Pretty awkward, right? I know we haven't spoken much since the Vytyl Festival. What I saw what you did back then, was pretty amazing. I know things are hard for us all, my team and I went back to Mistral for some recuperation. Sun left to find Blake because she felt ashamed for what happened to Yang. It must feel worse being separated from your own team. And believe me, it gets worse to lose someone you cared for. Trust me, I may be not look like I did. But I felt that before, because I lost someone important to me a long time ago. When it's winter, the snow reminded me of you. How the breeze flows like your hair, your eyes glamour like the icy waters. When you fight, I can see you soar like the swan. When you sing, it brought such a gentle melody in the air. Like the moonlight hearing your call. The truth is, I just missed you. You became the first woman to have approach me with a smile. Keep that smile to fight the good fight. Things will get better when your team gets back together. Trust me, blood or not, family is about bonds that are shared. Like how Sun ,Scarlet and Sage have been brothers to me. Right now, Scarlet is kinda angry at Sun for leaving without telling us. As for Sage, mostly silent. They didn't take this very well. But I could understand what Sun is trying to do.
P.S.
If there's any chance you visit Mistral, I'll be happy to show you around for some time."
-Neptune.
Weiss is then blushing at his words he wrote to her. Like the blossoms falling from the wintery weather. Looking at the window. At the shattered moon. Her eyes closed in happiness, that someone have written to her. It have given her hope for the day she will be free from the patriarchal prison.
"Neptune." She thought. "Thank you." She then placed her lips on the letter as a sign of luck.
Ever since you wrote me this letter, it set me free. Actually, you have set me free. I know now that I cannot depend on Winter anymore.
Weiss thought back about that night she received the letter. She picked it up from her satchel and read it secretly without him knowing it on the ferry. She then hid it away. The letter may be a few years old, but it is still the treasure she has held. Sitting on the bench next to Neptune who is looking down on the floor. She scooted towards him and has her hand over his to keep him company. Much to his relief.
"Are you exciting to see her?" She asked.
"Well, I haven't seen her for months. She would basically check on my health every time I came home from Haven for summer vacations. What about you? What did you do when school was out?" Asked Neptune.
"Mostly at home. Back when I was an heiress, there was absolutely nothing but studies and tutoring 24/7." Weiss sighed. "Now that Whitely is the new heir to the Schnee Dust Company, I don't see the point of staying in the mansion." Now as a former heiress, Weiss is even ashamed at her own name since it was in ruins, no thanks to the man who fathered her and her siblings. "Still, I hope he does better than my father. Cause the last time he ever run the company, he got what he deserved, an orange jumpsuit." Weiss joked. Reminding her the time she read the headlines in the newspaper. Where the newspaper shows an image of him in an orange jumpsuit. And his mustache and hair got all messy having not been groomed for months after. Given a life sentence due to Winter being given the position as the new leader of the Atlas Military. And she wasn't going to let him out anytime soon.
"Seriously, that's hilarious!" Chuckled Neptune.
"I know, right?! I doubt Winter is going to let him off easy. Even if he is our father, he is beyond redemption." Weiss points out.
"That's insane coming from him." Neptune commented. They both laughed. "Are you sure about coming with me on this one?" He asked. Thinking of whether or not that Weiss is sure she wants to help him out of the situation she already put herself in.
"Of course, I do. I am not backing down on this one." Weiss assured him. Then she decides to change the subject. "Your parents are nice." She compliments. Making Neptune glanced at her and smiled. "They're the best. Dad can be kinda busy at times when Jupiter looks after us. But he's also an expert at amplifying weapons. As for Mom, straight but also lovable. She won multiple cases and a zero loss whether she's the prosecutor or the defender."
"A lawyer, huh? Yeah, she told me that. It was amazing of how hard she works." Weiss said. Looking back at the environment Neptune have lived in, it was all normal. Like many families, there could be arguments, but can be resolved later on. How parents could be supportive. How siblings do things together. She felt slightly jealous that she wishes it could've been this way if her family was never rich. Winter have told her some tales about their maternal grandfather before he went into retirement. A nobleman who works in honor of his own father when he left a small amount of his inheritance to create the Schnee Dust Company. She never met him, but was aspired to bring honor of his lineage. But after she was revoked from her inheritance, she decides to no longer bear the Schnee name, she will be just Weiss. But will still use her semblance in his honor.
Unbeknownst to them, there was a man hiding from the front row of the ship and took pictures of them both. Then they heard the click. "Did you hear that?" Asked Weiss.
"Yeah, I heard that too." Jolted Neptune.
"It sounded like a camera." Then the man was nearly caught but hid his face from behind. "Please tell me someone else is spying on us?"
"That's weird. Maybe we're just hearing things." Weiss shaken. "Or maybe there could be someone on the ship."
"We might have to keep an eye out. I have a bad feeling about this." Neptune points out. Looking at the mirror hanging on the ceiling of the ship where it shows the man still hidden without knowing that Neptune is glancing. "If we could just play it cool like nothing happen, that's when he or they'll let their guard down." He whispers. "We'll wait until the boat stops and we run for it and get lost." Weiss nods. Gripping his hand in nervousness. In theory, there could be anyone who heard the news and wanted them for their bounty. Or worse, assassination. But the general was never the type to put their head on the bounty. But rather to bring those alive. And Weiss knows that there is still heart that her sister would never be tempted to murder someone.
The ferry stops at Vale City. The kingdom where Beacon Academy was still underdevelopment after the students transferred to Shade Academy for catching up the semester. "Here it is. Vale." As the citizens are walking off the ship. Weiss and Neptune walked further and carefully listening to the footsteps the man is making. They cannot make a glance at him, or the worse can happen. They walked faster until they hid the alleyway and lost him at last. "He's gone." He sighed, much to their relief. Getting lost in the crowd means the man have gotten confused and went to search somewhere else.
Vale Hospital
Neptune and Weiss have made an appointment in an attempt to meet Ceres. With claims of a fever. Once the nurse have called them from the waiting room. They have entered the office. The door opened, to Neptune's surprise, it was a blue-haired and eyed woman. With a curly ponytail. A lab coat with a sweatshirt and brown skirt under. Reading glasses above her bangs. "Hello, I'm Dr. Ceres Vasilias. And I have been informed of..." The doctor was cut off when Neptune reveals himself.
"Sis, it's me." He interrupted.
"I beg your pardon, sir?" The doctor tilted in confusion. Until Neptune removed his hood and goggles. "Nep...tune?" She questioned.
"Yeah, it's me." The she overchecks him for any injuries. As the youngest of five siblings, Neptune was the one they could mostly be worried about. "Oh my gosh, are you okay?! Are you hurt?! Are you injured?! Did you have water on your ears and eyes again?! I swear you'll go deaf if this happens!" Neptune breaks away from him before she gets exhausted. "Hey, hey, hey! I'm fine. There's no need to freak out." He assured him, knowing his sister, she's always worried for his wellbeing after what happened with Jupiter.
"Oh. Sorry, it's been months, you have no idea how freaked I got when I got promoted." Sighed Ceres. She then walks over to the door. Looking in both ways before locking the door. "Anyway, you shouldn't be here. There are men looking for you." She said , worryingly. "I know, I just want to see how are you, Sis." Could she blame him for checking on his family. Normally, she would tend his injuries.
"Ever since Haven Academy fell, I wasn't sure if attending Shade is a good idea since there is a lot of rogues in the streets. But seeing you coming back alive, it was a relief." Ceres explains. She has been scared hearing him going to Shade. But then again, where else can he study with Beacon and Haven gone, and Atlas' borders being shut down. Shade has become the best option to fight for survival. She then turned to Weiss. "Wait a sec, let me guess. Former heiress of the Schnee Dust Company?" She guessed. And Weiss shamefully nods. But she straights her face up for an introduction.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, you are probably aware for who I am."
"I wouldn't mind. I never thought my little brother would bag you up." Teased Ceres.
"Seriously, you too?!" Neptune protested. And Weiss covered her face while feeling the heat.
"Oh well. By the way, don't tell me you went on a mission to find Jupiter, didn't you?" She asked, sternly. After telling him not to take the mission to have the police involve. But Neptune disobeyed that request and went on. But being a huntsmen, it's an instinct. At least what Ceres can understand. "Sorry, Ceres. I just wanted to be sure it was him."
"I get it, you're desperate. But do you have any idea what this have cost me?" Ceres stared at him in the eye. "There were policemen questioning me for your whereabouts."
"It's called instincts, I have a feeling that the police can't get their facts right if they still think he's dead." Neptune argued. Then again, the police have already given up the search again since the huntsmen were called to Poseidon Island to search for the Thunderbolts. Which upsets her to think they would reopen the case. "You're right, it's pointless to have them involve. You're lucky you're wearing a disguise. Still it would be a good idea to dye your hair and change your name. But I can give you some plastic surgery." She suggested. But Neptune wants none of it.
"And ruin my looks? No way." He shook his head.
"Fine. By the way, there were sightings of Jupiter and his team being made in the news." Ceres points out, which got her brother perked up to hear the name of their older brother. "I heard that he's somewhere in the Emerald Forest. The thing is, the Thunderbolts have been digging up. Looking for something. It has to be some kind of relic, perhaps." She theorizes.
"We'll check it out ourselves." Neptune then embraces his sister before parting ways. "It's great to see you again, Sis."
"Me too, bro. Me too. If anyone asked, I didn't see anything." Ceres told him, and Neptune nods. "Now, hurry before the security finds out." She ushered, prompting him and Weiss to exit the building.
Later on, they made a reservation for a hotel room for the night. The room has white walls for each side. Glass shower windows. Brown curtains with the soft texture. Separate beds with white sheets and pillows. Pretty much three-star level of a hotel. But enough to stay for a few days until they get what they came for. "At least this way, we can take a break." Weiss sighed.
"Pretty much. It's great to see that Ceres is doing well. We should be searching for Jupiter tomorrow. There's a good chance he could be there. Or another moon stone." Neptune plopped onto the bed close to the window. While Weiss slightly opens the curtain to see if there's any police or any militia force around. "Looks like nothing came around yet. We should be safe for tonight." Weiss said. Knowing that they cannot hide forever. Even with their scrolls destroyed, there are still chances that sightings will be linked. "Looks like being huntsmen wasn't easy for anyone."
"No doubt about it." Then his stomach growls, all the walking and traveling have gotten him empty. Struck with hunger. Weiss then notices. "Wow, I'll bet all this trouble have gotten us starving. Tell you what, I'll be getting us something to eat while you stay here." Weiss offers. Not wanting to risk him getting caught.
"Are you sure about this? I don't think it's safe for you to go out walking today." Neptune objects to the idea.
"I'll be fine. There's nothing to worry about. You need to keep in low profile for now." Neptune wanted to come along, but then again, he might be recognized. They don't have the scrolls to call each other to ensure each other's safety. But Neptune need s someone he can trust with his goals. He cannot call his team, it'll also cost them to be arrested for harboring a fugitive. For now, Weiss is the only person he can rely on.
"Okay, just be careful." He told her. And Weiss nods walking out of the room to grab some grub. After Weiss bought some appetizers from a restaurant, she then takes routes in the city to make sure she isn't followed. But it backfired when she heard footsteps in the alleyways. It grew louder. It was a sign that there is a stalker on the loose. She then makes a step ahead to levitate with her glyphs to the top of an apartment building. Running on the roof until the mysterious shadow threw roses at her as she deflects them. Pedals have been torn apart from the stems of black thorns.
"How delightful to see you again, mi belleza de nieve." His voice is deep with the accent. Weiss is stunned to hear a voice she never wants to hear for a while. Then man is dressed in a black jumpsuit, with a mask and hood covering his mouth. A red scarf tied to his waist containing a whip and a toledo sword. "There's no point hiding in that mask. I know who you are, Carlos Vega." She said furiously. He then chuckled uncovering that hood of his. "How wonderful that you recognized me. I believe your father would like to have a word with you. If you can come with me." He extended his hand towards her. But Weiss backs off in refusal. "But he's in jail. There's just no way."
"On the contrary, I helped him escape. Yes it was me, Specialist Carlos Vega. The supreme graduate student of Atlas Academy. Heir to the Vega Corporation."
"Nobody cares, Vega. And by the way, I want nothing to do with my father. And when my sister finds out you broke him out. She'll lock you up for good." Weiss paces around him and has her hand on the Myrtenaster in case he is ready to attack. Shoot, I should've warn her about him. I forgot about him for so long, I never want to remember him at all. She thought. She then felt pain in her shoulder. Causing her to look down and saw a rose pierced into her shoulder. "What the-?! She winced. her body feeling weak as the eyesight got blurry.
"Unfortunately, you are clearly unaware of what my semblance was. My rose is extremely, poisonous. Once a rose is pinned into your body, the poison will stream into your veins and you'll be weak. I call it the Death Amor." Described Carlos.
No, I have to fight back. Neptune is waiting for me. I cannot let Carlos him near him. Otherwise we're done for.
"Please understand that I am doing this, all in the name of admiration." Carlos said in a sweet tone. Disgusting Weiss.
"Admiration? I call it sickening." Weiss retorted. She then dashed at the heir to clash his sword. Pushing each other away. Carlos then throws ten roses for defense. But Weiss blocks them all while dodging them with her glyph.
Carlos has the upper hand swinging his whip catching Weiss in the air. Pulling her back down on the roof. But Weiss cuts his whip but another rose is thrown into her abdomen. "Ah!" She winced again. But she is still standing. "Nice try, I'm not going to give up that easily!" Carlos spun and sings his blade. Crossing blades against her. But Weiss smacks him with a handle. But he tumbled back. While Weiss tries to knock his sword off his hands. Lunging him and it was a success. "Give it up, Vega. You have no chances of winning...Dah!" Weiss stumbles back and saw another rose on her right arm. She tries to take them all off, but they were too strong. They are stuck. Weiss collapse to the ground, still trying to fight the poison.
The former heiress pushes herself to get up, but she fell back down. Staring at Carlos with a glare. "Too bad, mi belleza de nieve. It looks like I'll be taking you after all." He taunted. Weiss' vision got all foggy and then all goes black for a moment.
