2am (Chp 13)

“Jaune…” Reese reached up, cupping his face with her small hands and turned him so they were looking directly into each other's eyes, “I’m speaking this as a friend and your girlfriend… that skank is a disaster… she’s going to implode and I’ll be fucked sideways if I let her take you and Az with her.”
“But…”
“Jaune… I understand… she’s the mother of your child. She birthed that darling angel… but you NEED to remember who was there for you when you were struggling.” Reese rose up on her knees and leaned forward, pressing her forehead against his, “It was not her… it was NOT her.”
“I know… but Az is so happy at what she thinks is going to happen.” Jaune sighed, “How do I crush her like that. Tell her that mommy and daddy…”
“You need to be honest with her, yourself and Pyrrha.” Reese offered, “As much as I hate to admit it, but Pyrrha has a right to be in Az’s life… which means she’ll be a part of yours…”
“You’re also a part of that life.” Jaune commented, as he turned in his seat just enough to be able to place his hands on hips. “But it can’t be fair to…”
“It’s not… but it is how it is.” Reese cut him off. “I never pressured you and I accepted your decision to keep us on the down-low, especially with Azalea. Right now, I am content with being Daddy’s Special Friend that gets Nighttime Cuddles.”
Jaune snorted, remembering exactly that title was coined by his daughter, who was six at the time.
“Laugh it up… but I’m being honest here… Jaune I want to be more… but until you figure out what you want… who you want… and make that decision things will not work out for you no matter who you sweet talk into your bed.”
“I get what you’re saying… I do, but it’s hard. So hard.”
“Jaune?” Reese asked as she saw the tears starting to form in his deep blue eyes. “Jaune what’s wrong?”
“No… nothing.” he sniffled.
“Don’t give me that bullshit.”
“It’s back…”
“What’s back…” Reese’s eyes grew wide with concern. “Show me your arms!”
“It’s okay… I went to see Dr Primrose…”
“Arms!” Reese demanded as she released Jaune from her grip.
Jaune swallowed and then proceeded to roll up the sleeve of his hoodie, revealing the inflamed marks on the underside of his forearm. Reese grabbed him by the wrist, and twisted just enough to make the cuts clearly visible. Snapping her eyes upwards, they captured Jaune’s. His filled with regret, remorse, sadness and pain. She released her grip and grabbed him by the sides of his face, pulling him down and into a frenzied, fierce kiss, pushing every ounce of what she felt for him into the action.
“Jaune…” Reese whispered once again, leaning her forehead against his, “please don't hurt yourself… especially because of her. She’s not worth it.”
Reese titled her face, and gently caressed Jaune’s lips with her own. She could taste her tears along with his, upon their lips.
“She’s not worth it.”

2am (Chp 7)
--== Table of Contents ==--
So many things slammed through Jaune’s heart and mind. Both happy, sorrowful, desperate, and rage inducing. All of them caused by the singular figure standing, surrounded by people that had been more involved in his and Azalea's life than she had ever been.
“Daddy!” the small voice, filled with questions and excitement, cut through the noise in his head and heart, drawing his attention from inside himself, to the energetic red head tugging at his wrist, “DADDY! It’s mommy! Let’s go… want to see her!”
“Okay, sweeties.” Jaune replied with his trademark warm smile, and with that he released his hold on his angel.
“MOMMY!” the eight-year-old girl barreled across the distance that separated them.
“Az?” Pyrrha chocked as she crouched down and received the blue-eyed, red haired bullet. Tears starting to well in her eyes. “My baby.”
“Mommy?” Az asked as she looked up through her mother’s embrace.
“Yes, honey?”
“Are you all better now?”
“Almost, honey, almost.” Pyrrha chocked out, as unpleasant memories flooded into her mind, each one flowing in to a deep pit of self-resentment, and stoking the smolder the fire of self-hatred into a blazing flame. “Almost.”
“Well, hurry up, and get better!” Azalea commanded with her light, musical voice. “I want you to come back, live with me a Daddy again. Daddy’s lonely, and I want my mommy back.”
“Soon… soon Mommy will be all better.” Pyrrha choked out, that simple statement utterly destroying her heart, and threatening to cause her to once again spiral out of control.
Everyone else had stepped away, converging in a small huddle, a little distance away, to continue just to chat. Far enough to give a measure of privacy, but close enough to intervene if trouble arose.
Soon, Azalea grew fidgeting, and wanted free of her hug. Pyrrha release her, fighting the urge to keep her cradled against her chest. Though as soon as she was released Azalea grabbed her mother by the wrist and started to try and pull her with her back towards her daddy.
“Daddy, Mommy is almost better!” the darling angel shouted, “Kiss her boo-boos so she can be happy, and come home!”
Pyrrha was entertaining letting her daughter, lead her over to Jaune, but froze at the looking of anger and resentment that filled Jaune’s face. It was at that point, Pyrrha understood. Even though Az had seemed to have forgiven her for being away so long… Jaune her father… the man that gave up nearly everything to raise their child, had not.
“Mommy, why did you stop? Let’s go! Come, let’s see daddy!”
“Az, honey?”
“Yes?”
“Daddy and I have to have a long, long talk, and right now is not a good place to do it.”
“Why not?”
“It’s very personal, and it’s about mommy’s… illness.”
“And after you have a talk, will you come home so we can be a family again?” The pure hope and pleading i her daughter’s blue eyes… eyes as deep and warm as her father’s caused so many conflicting emotions that Pyrrha fought to not be overwhelmed. “Please?”
“Az, that’s enough now.” Jaune’s voice knocked Pyrrha out of the storm of emotions, “What mommy… chooses to do is up to her…”
“But?”
“Butts are for sitting on, Daddy and Mommy will talk, I promise.” Jaune’s tone was stern but warm. “It’s time to go. You have school.”
“Okay.” Az release her hold on her Pyrrha’s wrist, and then motioned for her to bend over. The peck to her cheek.
A/N - It's been a 'minute" since I did work on this one. So I've done some cleaning up, renaming everything into chapters, put a link to the master list in each post, and added an image of what I could get an AI to create for Jaune and Pyrrha's daughter. Hope you enjoyed, and tanks for reading.
