guys the kiss was so important especially from a narrative and storytelling perspective because it was literally Crowley taking everything that's happened between them, every unsaid intention and every unspoken promise, and making it physical.
He's taking their arrangement and every other bullshit excuse they've ever used to hide how they feel about each other and throwing them out the window to put their feelings into an undeniable physical action that holds a lot of meaning to humans in order to be absolutely sure that Aziraphale knows exactly what he means when he says "we could have been Us." He wants to be absolutely sure that there are no misunderstandings between them and know that Azirphale will be committing to this decision with absolute reassurance that he's been understood and rejected anyway.
he's taking a human action with so much meaning and so much importance, and he's using it as a way to desperately make Aziraphale completely and undeniably aware of what he's stating. No more charades and no more lies or cover-ups. There's no denying this thing between them now, and Crowley did it the human way. Because he and Aziraphale love humanity and it's everything to them in their own ways.
There's a reason we saw a kiss between Crowley and Aziraphale, and not Gabriel and Beelzebub, despite them both being undeniable foils.
and really if you just think about that isn't it so god damned beautiful?

imagine the confussion it would cause for the villains in gotham if during halloween night the entire batfamily would dress up as each other during patrol.
Youre some guy robbing the bank or whatever and see nightwing pulling up and feel relief bc "oh, thats not too bad, could be worse, ive fought him before and should know his moves by now!" and suddenly he pulls out a glock.

ok but can we talk about how nolan was the one who sent this thraxan disguised like this to come get mark. He made sure to choose something non-threatening that mark loves so he wouldn’t be that scared
he knew that mark loves seance dog so much that he’s even remembered the catchphrase of his boys favorite fictional character.
can you imagine him probably teaching this one thraxan how to talk like seance dog and making sure that he got everything right to convince mark to come to thraxa. Remembering when mark would run around the house dressed up like him and maybe there’s even cartoons of him so nolan has that all burned into his mind of how the character talks because mark loved it so much and would repeat the lines over and over?
ouch

will always be super annoyed with the implication that art delving into an evil person’s conscience or internal conflict is bad because it is being overly sympathetic towards them. that is not exoneration. the whole point is that regardless of their humanity (that, yes, evil people ultimately have in real life) they continue to make the choices that render them irredeemable. it doesn’t turn into less of a condemnation. depicting complexity ≠ manipulating the audience into forgiveness. i keep seeing the accusation of the latter being thrown at media that is very clearly only doing the former

alright, question for the esteemed jury (though I imagine this will be a uniquely american, if not perhaps also canadian, experience):
are you familiar with the children's game that involves slapping hands around a circle while singing a song that begins "down by the banks of the hanky panky"
and if you are, how did the rest of the song go for you

You can criticize people like Ben Shapiro without being antisemitic... Like if you can get it through your head that doing things like misgendering a trans person because they did something wrong is bad, you should understand its bad to resort to projecting harmful jewish stereotypes onto people because they're shitty.
Ben Shapiro sucks, but he is a jewish man and jewish men have been stereotyped as feminine and there is even an antisemitic myth that cis jewish men have menstrual cycles. So like... joking about a cis jewish man being secretly trans isnt exactly the funny irony joke you think it is.
Also, he talks like that because that is a common speech pattern for a lot of jewish people in certain communities.
You can criticize shitty people without perpetuating bigoted beliefs. Also this shit is just gonna push a guy like him deeper into toxic masculinity.
