Bubble Tea. (Pt 1 of Mondstandt)
As you may or may not know, Kamisato Ayato will appear in the 2.6 update. One of the reasons everyone is screaming and crying is that Ayato drinks bubble tea for his idle animation.
Interesting detail Mihoyo Hoyoverse Cognosphere.
That got me thinking, what would the genshin crew drink as their go-to bubble tea?
If you have your own ideas and opinions on what any of the genshin impact characters might drink, please do not hesitate to share your opinion! I would love to hear it and possibly add it to this ongoing list! :)
(I am going to do this by nation, starting with Mondstandt!)
Characters: Diluc, Kaeya, Jean, Lisa, Klee, Rosaria, Razor, Venti, Bennett
Diluc
Flavors: Black milk tea, Grape (obviously)
Toppings: Just tapioca pearls or fresh fruit, none
Diluc would keep things simple and basic like black milk tea since does not care too much about bubble tea in particular. Like a madman, however, he would enjoy any kind of grape tea (milk tea or fruit tea). For toppings, he enjoys pearls the best, or no toppings at all. He enjoys the fresh fruit to a certain degree, however he only orders it to give it to his bird, since it seems to enjoy the fruit a lot.  I like to imagine Kaeya showing him butterfly-pea milk tea and Diluc secretly enjoying it. He would always cut down the sugar to either 20% or none at all. He does not enjoy things that are overly sweet, and likes to enjoy the bare flavor of the black tea or grape rather than it being overshadowed by sugar. Not one to experiment, so he would stick with one or two drinks and only order those. Most of the time, he would drink some of it and leave to complete work, allowing Klee to snag a few sips of it. Diluc is aware that Klee drinks his bubble whenever she gets the chance, so he always orders a larger size, or another one for her. I really like to imagine that Diluc drinks his bubble tea in the evenings before his shift ends at Angel’s Share, or at his mansion, overlooking the vineyard.
Kaeya
Flavors: Butterfly-pea milk tea, Pina Colada, Alcoholic bubble tea (its a thing), roasted black/brown sugar milk tea
Toppings: Tapioca pearls, Red bean, Lychee Jelly, Bingsoo(shaved ice)
Kaeya would be the opposite of Diluc’s taste. Kaeya loves things cold and sweet, as well as experimenting with unusual and different flavors. His favorite would be the calming butterfly-pea milk tea with its nice blue color and cool taste, However, he would frequently switch it up to roasted black sugar or Pina Colada so no one can predict what he would end up drinking. He heard of there being an alcoholic bubble tea from Venti and got drunk from it once (or more). He would only drink alcoholic bubble tea very late, so no children (really only Klee) would take a sip. For toppings, he would diversify his toppings quite a bit, keeping them on the sweet side. Red bean and Lychee jelly would be his main choice alongside pearls for their flavor. I also think that Kaeya would really like Lychee. Specifically for drinks like the black/brown sugar, he would top it with Bingsoo, a type of Korean shaved ice. It has a cold, smooth texture as its usually made from milk. It is also very sweet, right up Kaeya’s alley. Tampers with the ice and sugar level but never goes below 50% sweetness. (Yes I like to believe Kaeya has a bit of a sweet tooth)
Jean
Flavors: Black Milk Tea, Coffee, Almond Milk tea, Honeydew Milk
Toppings: Grass Jelly, Chia seeds, none
Jean enjoys the soft and subtle flavors...and a shot of coffee whenever she can. She would be far too busy to try new flavors or have something that may distract her. She would also try to stick to healthier, filling drinks like the almond and honeydew. However, she would enjoy the simpler flavors very much. Lisa may have gave her one to try, and it has become a staple drink in between the piles and piles of work she has to complete daily. For toppings, grass jelly is filling and has a nice flavor. Chia seeds are better for her health, and mix quite well with the almond milk tea. Since Jean does not eat all that much during the peak of her work, bubble tea with toppings like grass jelly fills her stomach quickly and gives her more energy. She does not like tapioca pearls. Why wouldn’t she like them? I imagine that she’s choked on pearls before, so her likeness them quickly declined. Her sugar level is either at 0% or 100%, no in-between. She is either very focused on her work, or her sweet tooth kicks in and she indulges herself in nice sweet bubble tea. Klee has tried her bubble tea too (she’s a little thief haha) but prefers others.
Lisa
Flavors: Oolong milk tea, Vanilla chai/chai, Jasmine milk tea, Mango tea, Rose tea
Toppings: Tapioca pearls, Lychee/Mango/Coconut Jelly, Rose petal (also a thing apparently)
Lisa is a lover of flavors from her nation (Sumeru). Since Sumeru is speculated to be based on the middle east/southern Asia, I tried to add flavors from those regions that Lisa would enjoy. She would absolutely adore Vanilla Chai or Chai. I’m not sure why, but it just sounds right. Oolong tea would be a close second as well as Rose, followed by Jasmine and Mango if she was in the mood for fruit. She seems to enjoy tea, and would drink it often in the midst of her library work. Her go to drinks would have enriching spices (such as chai and its assortment of spices like cardamom and star anise) and if there aren’t any, she would simply add it to her drink. She would add small adjustments to her more subtle drinks such as the Jasmine and Rose tea. She would add different extracts and spices until she has reached her desirable flavor. These drinks are also known to be “romantic” in her words. For toppings, Lychee, Mango, and Coconut Jelly would be her favorites. Pearls are a nice addition to any of her drinks, and rose petals are a must have. She keep the sugar at a mild 50% since her toppings add most of the sweetness. In conclusion, a very refined and meticulous taste.
Klee
Flavors (Mainly smoothies/fruit): Strawberry/Strawberries and cream/strawberry milkshake, Chocolate, Caramel, anything she can snag from the others on this list (excluding Venti)
Toppings: LOVES tapioca pearls, fruit popping boba, ice cream, strawberry jelly (Klee loves her strawberries), whipped cream, the Bingsoo from (specifically) Kaeya’s drink
Klee is best described as an energetic little kid with arson-inducing tendencies. She would have a huge sweet tooth, loving anything sweet and fruity. She would best enjoy fruit smoothies like strawberry, and chocolate. Jean orders for her when she hasn’t blown up a pond, but her usual dose of bubble tea comes from talking sips from everyone else. She enjoy talking sips of almost everyone’s drinks. Jean’s drinks are a little too bland for her, Lisa’s drinks are spicy and *sophisticated*, Rosaria scares her, and Klee is not allowed near Venti’s drinks at any time...for obvious reasons. She enjoys Kaeya’s, Diluc’s, and Albedo’s drinks (more on albedo on part 2) because of the shared love of sweets, and pearls. Jean sometimes tries to limit Klee’s bubble tea consumption so she can handle her. Bubble tea happens to make Klee even more hyperactive. Other than stealing sips from others, Diluc is the one who orders for her the most. When she enters the tavern to play or attempt to steal Diluc’s drink, she is met with another cup of bubble tea, full of her favorite flavors.
Rosaria
Flavors: Black Milk tea, Earl Grey milk tea, Lavender London Fog milk tea
Toppings: Tapioca pearls, Crystal boba, none
Rosaria has quite a mild taste. It is not unpleasant in the slightest, but with bubble tea, Rosaria enjoys tasting the flavor of black teas more than anything (I suppose this could connect to the bartender event where Rosaria finds a peculiar liking to black tea, Kaeya even acknowledges this.) There is not much to say about Rosaria since I really think she would only drink bubble tea once in a while. Bubble tea was likely presented to her by Barbara (will explain in part 2) and has been a simple treat for her whenever alcohol is not on her mind. Klee had come by the tavern quite a bit when Rosaria was there, however she had almost been blown up. She finds Klee very cute and has tried offering her bubble tea after observing Klee take sips of Diluc’s. Klee is terrified of the tall, spiky lady. For toppings, Rosaria only enjoys it with pearls, crystal boba, which is a type of boba made from agar agar, or simply plain milk tea. She keeps the sugar at 0%. Sweets from pastries and desserts are what she can tolerate but when it comes to teas, she would much rather have something that defines the authenticity of the tea itself rather than the sweetness added to it.
Razor
Flavors: Fruit teas (Yuzu lemon, peach, and whatever Klee or Bennett gives him), flavors that are similar to fruits and scents found in the forest
Toppings: Tapioca pearls, fresh fruit (like wolfhook), grass jelly, meat
Razor likes anything that tastes like the forest, really. Sweet and sour fruit flavors tend to be his favorite. He detests teas with a passion. Klee and Bennett often give him bubble teas to try out, some of which he adores, others of which he ends up running off. He tends to really like tapioca pearls as they allow for something to chew on. Somehow, Bennett will show up with a cup of just tapioca pearls and grass jelly. That of which Razor happily chews on for the rest of the day. He also enjoys fresh fruit, as long as they are sweet and no vegetables are involved. I imagine he dunks pieces of meat in his bubble tea. Yes...unfortunately I believe he would. Usually chunks of raw meat would be dropped into his bubble tea, something he would very much so enjoy. A lot of milk gives him stomach aches, so he tends to stay in the area of simple fruit teas that taste like local berries, such as the Yuzu lemon (similar to wolfhook) or Peach(could be similar to Sunsettias) As long as it is sweet and there are ice/pearls to chew on, Razor is happy.
Venti
Flavors: Alcoholic bubble teas. That’s it, that’s all he drinks. (Maybe a matcha green tea here and there with shots of whiskey or something, also enjoys apple fruit tea)
Toppings: Tapioca pearls(?), popping boba, ice cream, apple slices
Venti would drink alcoholic bubble tea. 100%. If there was no such thing as alcoholic bubble tea, he would create it. Bubble tea would probably the only type of figurative “tea” that he would drink. I would guess that he would tell Zhongli about alcoholic bubble tea, and how it is technically still tea at its core. Other than alcoholic drinks, Venti would occasionally drink apple fruit tea or matcha green tea.  Although Venti has most likely gotten drunk off of this bubble tea more often that he’d like to admit, he puts in effort to stray Klee away from any of his drinks. He would also be the one to introduce this kind of bubble tea to Kaeya, resulting in two drunk people in the back of the tavern, long past closing hours. Diluc definitely hates the idea of alcoholic bubble tea and asks Venti to talk about something else. In the case of toppings, Venti would most likely enjoy something like ice cream and popping boba, while also ramping the sugar to 100% or more. I am still debating whether or not Venti would actually like tapioca pearls since it has been said multiple times that Venti does not like cheese, because of its “sticky” qualities. He would most definitely enjoy placing dandelion garnishes on his bubble tea, as well as sweet apple slices. Would make a ballad on bubble tea.
Bennett
Flavors: Rooibos tea, Honey tea, Pomegranate tea, strong fruit teas
Toppings: Tapioca pearls, rainbow jelly, fresh fruit, popping boba, ice cream
Bennett would be the most experimental on this post. He enjoys refreshing drinks that give him energy. He tends to stay away from highly caffeinated drinks, so his main drink would be the Rooibos tea. Due to it’s energizing red color, fruity and sweet scent, and caffeine free qualities, Rooibos is Bennett’s favorite tea regardless. Some have even compared Bennett and Rooibos tea to be a little similar. He has not encountered the best of luck when it comes to milk, so he stays away from milk teas and drinks simpler teas instead. He enjoys a range of sweet and fun toppings from basic tapioca, to ice cream. He wants to try everything, and is optimistic in enjoying every flavor that bubble tea has to offer, as long as they aren’t spicy. Bennett is often seen sharing his drinks with Klee or Razor, and even gives drinks to Fishcl and Barbara (although in many cases, he almost drops the bubble tea.) There are times when he goes to the Angel’s Share and asks Diluc for certain ingredients. Bennett enjoy creating his own recipes with strange and sometimes dangerous flavors.  He almost never pokes a hole with the straw and is often asking for help from his dads in order to open and drink it. He experiments with sugar and ice levels. He would ask Kaeya for his preferences during his sword fighting lessons, and accidentally made Kaeya sick from an extremely strange bubble tea flavor made of unknown berries. At least he knows to not use those berries anymore.
That was it for the first part of the Mondstandt lineup! This took me quite a while to research bubble tea flavors and toppings, as well as each characters preferences. So, I truly do hope you enjoyed. Please do reblog if you wish, since Tumblr’s algorithm is reblog based. Thank you for reading! ^^

Heyo
An update: Kazuha’s guide to being forgotten part 2 is coming very soon! Just adding finishing details :)
I’m gonna drop my formal talk act for this one, sorry guys. This is a bit of a self indulgence lol, currently 3am so I wrote this on impulse. I hope you enjoy!
A comforting Zhongli x Reader (Platonic or not, you can decide. I read this as platonic)
TW!!: scars/self-h@rm/hate, toxicity...read at your own risk
You stare at your hands, you were trembling. Your expression was blank and your eyes had not slept in days. It felt like thorns were ripping out of your chest, your head was spinning and throbbing in excruciating pain. You didn’t speak, no, you couldn’t speak. Who knew simply getting something to drink would result in this? You felt weak, oh so weak. It made sense, however. After not eating for days, you barely survived off of tea, water, and coffee. The most “food” you’ve had in the past week was a slice of bread. Of course, in the kitchen surrounding you, there was plenty to eat. Leftovers, ingredients, fruits, veggies, instant noodles, but you didn’t want to eat them. No matter how hungry you were, you forced your appetite down into nothingness. You stare back down at your hands, dripping in blood. The glass you were supposed to fill water with was shattered on the counter, one of them was held tightly in your palm, blood soaking it’s clear hue. You tighten your grip, watching the blood seep from the edge and drop down to the floor. You felt the countless incisions strike at your hand, opening up your old scars and creating new ones, but your face remained emotionless. You heard frantic footsteps towards you as you are suddenly held by the shoulders. You stare up at him, dropping the shard of glass onto the floor.
“What happened? Are you alright?” Zhongli’s voice was unusually breathless, but concern was still laced with his calming tone. Looking up at him, you muster a smile.
 “Am I a monster?”
His hands loosen slightly on your shoulders, furrowing his brow. “Of course not. Why would you ever think that?”
You look down, how were you going to answer that? You knew you were a monster, you knew that everything you touched broke. You feel horrible, worthless. You are toxic, so very toxic. You never cared about others. You are selfish and small-minded. Every toxic trait you have rubbed off on others and you could see how painful it was for them. All you do is hurt others, all you do is hurt. You’ve realized this, that you are nothing more than a vicious monster that deserves to be hurt just as badly as they have hurt others. They deserve to starve, they deserve to be alone, they deserve to die. You knew you didn’t deserve the kindness you were given. The love, concern, your friends and family, you didn’t deserve any of them. So you pushed them away, all of them. Those who were hurt the most, the people who knew the most about you. If you push them away, make it so they never want to make as much as eye contact with you, they would much better off. They would be happier knowing they are no longer friends with a monster who never did a thing for them, no matter how much care and love they gave you. If you blocked everything out, perhaps you could make it faster towards your death. This lack of being a basic human is what you hated yourself most for.
“Look at me, dear.” Zhongli’s voice rang out from the countless voices circling your head. His golden eyes were soft and misty. “You are not a monster, please do not say such things about yourself.”
You felt your chest tighten and your throat ached. You attempted to keep it at bay, but you had not even realized you were crying until he had embraced you in his arms. Your façade broke right then and there, leaving you crying helplessly in his hug. He remained quiet while rubbing his thumb gently on your back. “I don’t know what to do,” you managed to sob out, “I’m such a bad person, and I hate myself for it. I don’t deserve anything in life. I don’t belong anywhere, all I do is burden others. I wish it would all stop, I wish I could reverse everything I’ve done but I am always going to hurt the people that care about me. I thought I could push my best friends away and be okay with it, I thought it would work.”
“Are you okay with it?”
Your sobs only seemed to grow louder, “No I’m not. I know that they’re fine. They are doing so much better without me, they’re so much happier, but why? Why don’t I feel happy for them? Why am I not okay? Why does it hurt? Why does it hurt so much, I don’t know what to do. I’m so selfish to even think that way-”
Zhongli let out a soft “shhh,” as he rubbed your back, tightening the hug. “You are doing this to make everyone happy, you care about them. If that is what makes someone a monster, I would like to know what is not a monster.” He chuckled shortly. Lowering his voice to a bit louder than a whisper, he stroked your head softly. “Let it all out. Whatever you are feeling, please do come and talk to me. Even when the world is against you, I will be here for you. I only wish for you to not harm yourself. You can scream and cry when it hurts, and that is okay. But please, do not hurt yourself.”
You cried for what seemed like hours. You punched at his chest in frustration, unable to understand why he cares so much for you when you have drenched his clothes in tears and blood. You truly thought you were alone, you believed you were better off alone, as you always were. However, here you are, crying in the arms of someone who had never left you, and never will. Looking up at him, his lips curved slightly and you were met with the warmest smile. He spoke sparingly, comforting you with every word. The sun peaked through the window, and your swollen eyes stopped their sobs.
Zhongli spoke softly, patting your back, “Would you like me to brew some tea for you?” He waited patiently for your response, and continued to speak upon seeing you nod weakly, “I will also make you breakfast, alright? You really need to eat something, dear. Wait here, I will also find the bandages. The last thing I want is for you to get infections.” He left your embrace slowly.  You continued to stand there, watching him quickly fetch bandages, ointment, and start to boil the tea.
You couldn’t help but put your scarce strength into a smile. Perhaps, you weren’t completely alone after all.

Kazuha’s Guide To Being Forgotten (Pt.1)
Summary: Kazuha goes on an expedition, attempting to run away as he did in Inazuma.
Characters: Kazuha, the…wind?, Xiao, Beidou (a little bit)
Disclaimer: Xiao likes to swear
Was inspired by the fact that Kazuha can hear the wind speak to him. I found that funny and ran with it, as well as reading countless memes about it. Also, anemo characters are sad and I enjoy writing about it. :)
If there was one thing Kazuha knew how to do well, it was hiding.
Sure, he was an exemplary poet, and excellent in the art of combat, but his true skills showed in his stealth. After all, he’s had plenty of practice.
It was no problem for Kazuha. One day he’s in Inazuma, next day he’s hiding on some sort of ship sailing to Liyue. He cannot forget his temporary mother aboard this ship, Beidou. She was a strong, independent woman. However the stench of alcohol often made Kazuha seasick. He knew well enough that hiding and escaping would come in handy once again, so the smell was enough to bear for the time being.
However, it was strange this time around. She was looking for him, and had been for the entire night. It was only a few minutes after Kazuha had disappeared into the night when Beidou came running after. To Kazuha, her constant efforts made no sense at all.
“What is Miss Beidou doing all the way out here?” Kazuha mumbled from the top of the cliff as he watched the pirate scope the area below. She yelled out Kazuha’s name, and stopped every few seconds to look out onto the water. “Surely the winds have not brought her to me.”
“Of course not, d’ya think I’d sell you out like that?” The wind responded.
Kazuha sighed, it was both a blessing and curse to hear the wind. It has helped him greatly in escaping and anticipating danger. On the other hand, the wind was a bit….quirky. It constantly sounded as drunk as Beidou on a Saturday night, and it could be quite loud. However the wind was better company than no one and frankly, it had started to grow on him.
“Nonetheless, she won’t find me here. The sunrise is lovely today, perhaps I should write a poem for this splendid morning and then leave.” Kazuha pulled a small notepad and pen out of his pocket. “I have to get out of here before she tries to look in the mountains.”
“Isn’t Beidou like, really cool though?”
Kazuha hesitated for a moment before beginning to write. “Yes. She has been very kind and generous towards me, but I do not want to burden her anymore.”
The wind breezed past slightly, “Whatever you say buddy. Remember to write ‘angels share’ in there somewhere.”
After a long pause, Kazuha furrowed his brow.
“What’s an Angel’s share?”
“You don’t know? Dang, you’re more dense than I thought, and you’re supposed to be a world renown poet! It’s a tavern in Mondstandt, a really lovely place if you ask me.”
“Mondstandt?” Kazuha closed his notepad abruptly, “Isn’t that the city of freedom and Anemo?”
“Sure is.”
Kazuha placed his pen behind his ear, deep in thought. He had only briefly breezed past Mondstandt, but now that he must hide again, it does not seem like a bad idea. Perhaps he could stay in mondstandt for a little while until Beidou gives up, and then proceed to travel further. Yes, sounds like a plan.
It would not take long before he is forgotten about in Liyue harbour, inazuma has already done so. Fugitive or not, being alone was the best thing Kazuha could do. Hiding, running, fighting, writing. It was a frequent cycle for him, but what could he do? Genuinely befriend people? Make real connections?
Not in a million years.
“Alright then.” Kazuha boosted up from his sitting position and dusted himself off. “To mondstandt I go. Maybe I’ll have better inspiration there.”
The wind brushed in his ear, “What’ve you got right now?”
“The sun’s heavy eyes. Where is the mindless dreamer? Angels share.” He sighed, “I cant even make a Haiku properly today.”
Kazuha could hear the wind howling with laughter. His rough draft of a poem must’ve set it in a whirlwind since now Kazuha could barely hear anything at all.
“Are you finished?”
The wind died down as it chuckled, “yeah yeah, I’m good I’m good. That’s hilarious it’s gotta be published in a book or something-“
Kazuha held his finger up to his lips. “Alright alright. Now quiet down, I want to make my journey to Mondstandt peaceful please.”
The wind softened until it was only a faint whisper. Allowing Kazuha to fully take in Liyue for the last time until he has to flee again. The morning birds sang their sweet tune, and the flowers were beginning to bloom off the rising sun. Feeling the grass on his fingertips, the morning dew brushed against his skin. It was cool and refreshing, the bugs and insects seemed to think so as well. The rocky Liyue terrain slowly dissipated, leaving Kazuha in a vast meadow. The sun was high in the sky now, so Kazuha decided to break for lunch at Wangshu inn.
It was not far from where the meadow was situated, and the breeze from the top of the inn allowed for Kazuha to rest his mind. The top balcony watched over Liyue from the south. Walking to the North section of the balcony, it just barely grazed over the monstandt kingdom and the magnificent dragonspine mountain range. Feeling the cool air wisp past him, Kazuha watched over the Liyue skyline peacefully.
“You.”
“Hm?” Kazuha turned his head behind him to see a young man staring him dead in the eye.
His arms were crossed and he stood there with a scowl on his face. He looked to be around the age of a teenager, however from his bright green shoulder tattoo, to the rhombus shaped mark on his forehead, Kazuha knew he was anything but.
“Good afternoon Xiao. I didn’t know adepti came around this part of Liyue, how are you-“
“Don’t play coy with me.” Xiao snarled, advancing towards Kazuha, “The entirety of Liyue harbour has gone batshit crazy because you’ve gone missing.”
Xiao poked his finger at Kazuha’s chest, clearly frustrated.
Kazuha shrugged, throwing his hands up into the air as if he’s been arrested. He continued to stare at Xiao’s fingernail as it slowly indented his chest.
“It’s all going to calm down soon. It won’t be long before I am regarded as a lost cause.” Kazuha looked back to Xiao, who’s eyes were fuming with anger and exhaustion. He felt a twinge of guilt looking at him. Kazuha never meant for Liyue to get wrapped up in this little mess, and he certainly never wanted Xiao to go through the burden of trying to solve it. “Adeptus Xiao, conqueror of demons, I believe it would be better if you maybe, disregard this entire encounter.”
Xiao scoffed, swiftly flicking his finger away from Kazuha, merely scratching his scarf.
“You are a fool, and a pain in the ass.”
“I know,” Kazuha dropped his hands to his side, “so it would just be easier to tell them I’m gone for good. They’ll believe an adepti.”
Xiao didn’t look happy, and Kazuha thought he could fish out a glimpse of concern in Xiao’s eyes.
Xiao sighed in defeat. “I’m letting you go only because I know you won’t get far with this shit. I have been called left and right to go searching for you. People are really worried you know. There are a lot of people in Liyue who really care about your safety, as much as they would another Liyue citizen.”
“Does that mean you as well-“
“Not important.” Xiao glared. “Just, be careful. Wherever the hell you’re going. Don’t be an asshole in the next region.”
Kazuha smiled, outstretching his hand. “Thank you, Xiao. The winds will not forget your kindness, and neither will I.”
“Whatever.”
Xiao dug into his pocket, pulling out a small pouch. He threw the bag to Kazuha, a gentle smile creeping on his face. “It’s mora, you’re gonna need it. Safe travels Kazuha.” He turned his back to him. Xiao stopped and looked towards the ground, the descending sun casting shadows across the inn. He hesitated before speaking. “Take some advice from me, hiding and running away will only get you so far.”
With that, the adepti disappeared within a cloud of hazy green smoke.
“Man that was intense. You sure know how to keep your cool, kid.” The wind breezed past Kazuha, causing his hair to sway ever so slightly.
“You were listening?”
“No duh, Xiao has still got his signature ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude when clearly, he’s super worried.”
Kazuha chuckled, tossing the pouch up into the air and catching it effortlessly. “And how would you know that? What are you, the archon barbatos?”
The wind stopped abruptly. There was no breeze to be heard, even the rustling of the trees fell silent in the eyes of the darkening sky. The silence of the descending scenery was so loud. Did Kazuha say something to offend it?
“Wow you kinda, hit the bullseye with that one.”
After a very long silence, The wind started to pick up again, as much as an evening breeze could of course. The trees could be heard rustling once again, as were the waves pushing against the inn.
“Of course I did.” Kazuha said sarcastically. “Because of course you’re the archon.” He laughed, beginning to make his way back into the comfort of the inn. “Now that I have some mora, I might as well stay for the night. There is no rush after all.”
The wind howled a little aggressively in Kazuha’s ear. “You really don’t believe I’m the archon? Well, cat’s out of the bag so I gotta come clean. I am the great anemo archon Barbatos!“
“Sure you are.”
Kazuha’s eyes began to tire once he was inside. Perhaps the constant travel from the harbour was catching up to him. Nevertheless, the receptionist was unaware of Kazuha and his disappearance, as well as the scarce tenants of the inn. He practically passed out onto the bed the moment he entered his room. His notebook rested beside him, open to his unfinished poem from this morning. Kazuha never knew escaping was so tiring in Liyue, but he could brave it out. He was only half a day’s walk from Mondstandt anyways.
Kazuha could rest easy now, because once again, he had successfully escaped.
(To be continued.)

Friendship Bracelet
Summary: Xiao receives a strange present
Characters: XIAO (99.9% sure he is in the story. You are reading in the POV of Xiao.) Zhongli, mentions of Ganyu and Hu Tao
Disclaimer: Could I have easily made this a happy ending? Yes, yes I could have. However I do not wish for peace, I wish for problems. (Is that what the meme is?)
This is more of a vent fic than anything else, and it is currently 1am therefore it is the perfect time to post vents. I will say that this is a trigger warning to those are easily upset by blood/death, and quite sensitive topics such as destructive harm and the sad feels. I do hope you enjoy the story nonetheless. :)
A monster. That was all you were, that was all you were ever going to be. Blood stained your clothes once again, and the guilt in your head only seemed to grow. However you were the victor once more, and that was all that mattered. Slowly, but gradually, you stumbled your way to the wangshu inn, collapsing at its front gate.
“Xiao? Would you like some Painkillers?” Rex lapis, or more commonly known by his Mortal name, Zhongli, shifted a box towards you.
As much as your head was spinning in pain, you didn’t want them, no, you didn’t deserve them. “No thank you.”
“Xiao, you seem ill, are you sure?”
“I’m fine” you mumbled, “I’ll be fine.”
You shifted further along the table, staring up at wangshu inn. Your clothes began to dry with the morning sun, however flickers of stained blood had no intention of leaving.
“Xiao, take them please. I wish for you to be healthy if you are to fight more hilichurls today.”
You groaned in defeat and snatched the box from the table, opening it rather reluctantly.
The remnants of the box took you by surprise. Scratching your mangled hair, you noticed that amongst the usual painkiller herbs and roots, there were a few unusual objects.
“What the hell? What are these?” You cautiously raised the colourful beaded contraption from the box, staring down the retired archon.
Zhongli only beamed in delight, “It is a friendship bracelet, Xiao. You wear like it like so,” He lifted his arm and rolled up his sleeve, revealing an identical bracelet which rested peacefully on his wrist. “It is quiet lovely, isn’t it? Miss Ganyu and Hu Tao taught me.”
No words escaped your lips. All you did was stare him down as if he had said the most ridiculous statement. (In your defense, it would not be the first time.)
Zhongli felt the suffocating silence as his demeanour began to sadden. “Do you…do you not like it? Have I done it wrong perhaps?”
“N-no that’s not what I mean to say.” You shook your head profusely. It wasn’t that you didn’t like it, you were unsure of how to feel at all. “It’s very well crafted, sir.”
You took the time to hold the bracelet properly and observe it. There were beads running along in a strange pattern. White, green, pink, and in the middle of the colours resided a beautifully handcrafted charm. It was your yaksha mask. The detail and intricacy in the charm surprised you even further. Why would Zhongli spend so much time on this? For what?
“Sir, how long did this take you to create?”
Zhongli’s expression became all the more brighter, as if he were an elderly man preparing to tell his life story to a child. “To tell you the truth Xiao, it took me very long. However for good reason. Last month, Hu Tao had placed this one on my wrist. At first I was quite confused. However she explained to me that this was indeed a friendship bracelet, and whoever wore them had a strong bond of friendship. She put a dragon charm on mine, however I’m not sure what it means. Miss Ganyu had walked into the funeral parlour the next day, wearing a bracelet similar to mine, however instead of a dragon, Miss Ganyu’s was complete with a Qingxin flower. Hu Tao wore one with a ghost, so I thought I might as well try and make one.”
Zhongli took a pause to check if you hadn’t already escaped from the table. “It was a tedious but enjoyable process. Many errors, many changes, making the charms were extremely difficult. It took me many failed attempts to create yours. Unfortunately, I am not an artist, but I wanted to give it to you, because of friendship! I regret not knowing about such a cute accessory earlier, but I will not let this opportunity pass.”
“So…what does it mean?”
“Friendship! That is what it means. I believe I have a deep connection with you, Xiao. I truly care for you and want you to have the friendship bracelet, as a symbol of our bond.”
Zhongli was practically bursting with happiness, however your face only managed a twitch. He spent so long making this for you, hours, days, weeks. Why were you not happy? Shouldn’t you be jumping in joy? Grasping Zhongli in a tight hug and wearing the bracelet instantly?
You didn’t move an inch. All you did was stare at Zhongli. His gaze softened when he realized you hadn’t said anything. He shook his head and sighed, lifting himself up from his chair. He stopped for a second to watch the elevators move up and down Wangshu Inn, as well as the ascending sunlight on this clear day.
“Well Xiao, I hope you enjoy your bracelet. I must get back to the funeral parlour before I am scolded by a child. Have a pleasant day, and do not stress yourself out. If you need me, I will be there.”
With that, Zhongli walked off peacefully towards the harbour. You watched him sway along the path, stopping ever so often to watch a butterfly flutter, or to watch a flower bloom with the morning sun. The birds and creatures were as friendly to him as the citizens of Liyue. He was so peaceful, carefree. He was happier now that he was no longer Rex Lapis. He was appreciating the life he has lived, however you are sure he still has many sorrows to suppress.
You stayed there for a long while, debating whether you should adorn the bracelet or not. It was beautiful and it held deep meaning to Zhongli. However you did not deserve this. You did not deserve anything. For all you have done, for all you have betrayed, killed, crossed, and hurt. You deserved no empathy, no kindness, no compassion.
Your shock quickly turned to anger. You were infuriated. It was as if a bottle had begun to overflow with the flick of a lever. You could not control the rage you felt from the bracelet. You shouldn’t be allowed to feel happiness. Zhongli should never had saved you. You should have been slain long ago. Bracelet gripped in hand, you stood up from the table and disappeared into a wisp of hazy green smoke.
You were not in control of yourself. Your vision was blurry and your movement were staggered. Your consciousness knew you were going to the only place where this anger could be suppressed once more.
The tranquil waters reflected the fleeting sunlight as it preformed a peaceful dance. The birds chirped happily on the branches of liyue’s native trees, and there were no monsters in sight. All but one.
You whipped out your spear and began to slash the trees aggressively, cutting into it and destroying it in a matter of seconds. The birds flew and panicked in alarm. With another swift motion, you leaped into the air and slayed every one of those peaceful birds. Their blood splattered on your clothes, and your airborne stature only allowed for you to quickly scope out the next target. You slashed, and tore, and destroyed. That was all you knew how to do. You suppressed, and when it was too much, you hurt. It was the cycle you endured for hundreds of years.
There was no escape for you. This was the only way to regain control. The only way to close off your chest again. In the air, you catch a glimpse of the sun. It was magnificent and glorious. It shone above the water and you wanted to reach up and touch it. However more sounds fill your ears. Another bird, boar, or hilichurl to take your anger out on. You dive down and impale your spear swiftly into their body. It was only after you caught your breath, that your vision cleared.
You had run your spear right through an innocent person. You were unsure of where he came from, but you were already shaking by the time you realized it was you who did this.
You turned your head, scanning the area around you. It was covered in blood, bodies, feathers, fur and horns. The trees that remained were torn down to shreds, and there was a Liyue citizen at the end of your weapon. What had caused this? The bracelet? Zhongli’s medicine? You wanted to blame everything that happened today, from the splitting headache to the rising sun.
But you had no one else to blame but yourself.
You caused this. You hurt them. You hurt the people, the creatures, and world you swore to protect. What would Zhongli say if he were here right now? You hoped that he would be disappointed, angry, furious. You wanted him to stop giving you a chance at redemption, you wanted him to truly abandon you, like everyone has done.
You caused them pain, you caused them suffering. You are no yaksha, you are no adepti. You are a murderer, a monster. You knew it all too well, however you could not seem to stop yourself from shaking. What was it? Why was your throat beginning to ache?
You looked down at the blood stained grass. There lay Zhongli’s bracelet. Ripped to pieces. The string holding it together had snapped and many, if not all of the beads were either crushed or nowhere to be found. Turning your head to the side, you spot the charm. The yaksha mask Zhongli spend so long creating, was shattered.
You shakily knelt down and picked up what remained of the bracket. You had not noticed the tears falling rapidly from your eyes until they had started pooling in your palms. Without warning, you screamed into the sky. It was in anguish, in pain, in torment. You cried and wailed alone. What surrounded you was destruction, and what you felt was a guilt more painful than a spear to the chest.
You cried for what seemed like hours. The sun began to set by the time your tears began to fall less. You had not cried like that in a long time, it was more emptying than the destruction you had caused.
Standing up tall, you watched the sunset trickle across the water, the fish were no longer swimming carefree. There were no birds singing their bittersweet tune of the day, and the stench of rotting flesh overpowered the usual fresh forest. You clenched the broken mask in your hand and stumbled towards the lake. In the reflection of the water, you saw yourself. Eyes red and puffy, tear streaks were as prominent as the blood on your face.
The expression in your face was nothing like you have ever seen in yourself before. You remembered such an expression from when mothers grieved for this dead children, when people hid themselves in the shadows of their sorrow. You never thought you were the next face this expression would infiltrate.
The reflection showed you, Xiao. Last adepti Yaksha, sworn protector of Liyue and an unfortunate curse of migraines. That was what one might think, but no. You were a liar, traitor, murderer, backstabber. You were full of wrath, and all you knew what destruction. Everything left if your wake suffered great pain, and those who have not crossed your path fear your existence. Your only desire is to kill, and you thrive off the pain of others. You are no better than the creatures you have slain.
You are no protector, you will and always will be a monster.

Windtrace this time around has been quite a frazzling experience. On one hand, I am praised for my skills amongst being a Zhongli main, however on the other, I am slandered by those who do not want to indulge in a little fun. How hard is it to perhaps…calm down?
Kaeya mains, you are spectacular people but why have you been so mean to me in windtrace? I am only trying to be friendly. <\3

Farewell, Midnight Memories (Pt.1)
Part one of a two part Zhongli sadness series
Characters: Zhongli (many many mentions), Xiangling mention, Tartaglia (Childe), Traveller, Hu Tao, Xiao, Paimon :/
Disclaimer: Angst(?), Paimon being annoying.
This is a story that popped into my head amidst the stress that is school. I have more homework than I can’t handle at the moment, as well as large exams. I apologize for not being as punctual as I would like to. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the story.
The Liyue skyline fell into a serene descent and the traditional lanterns were beginning to glow brighter than the rising stars. You were situated atop of pier, sitting as you watched the orange glow of the harbour dance upon the still waters. It was tranquil, calming even, you always felt at peace whenever you visited Liyue. The cool breeze blew past ever so slightly, enveloping you in a new sweet scent. Xiangling must have cooked pastries, you thought to yourself as you inhaled the freshly baked fragrance. Surely, there was nothing that could ruin such a calming-
“Traveller!!!”
Oh. It seems as though you spoke too soon.
The shrilling voice rings like a siren in your ears. It was almost too perfect of a time to break the silence. “Traveller look at this!”
A familiar scent invades your calming mindset. It wasn’t freshly baked pastries, but your mouth began to water nonetheless. “Yeah Paimon?”
You tilt your head behind you and watch enthusiastic Paimon wave two grilled tiger fish skewers as they fly over to you. “Guess who Paimon saw!”
You examine the skewers, seems like you don’t have to go to Wanmin restaurant after all.
“Did you visit Xiangling?”
“Yep!” Paimon beams. “Paimon saw Xiangling cooking really late at night.”
“Hm, is this for the special occasion today?”
“Xianling told Paimon that she had the suddenly urge to cook fish skewers for the event! Then Xiangling made Traveller and Paimon special grilled tiger fish!”
“For free? Xiangling must be in a good mood.” You shrug and glance at Paimon for a few seconds. “It was really kind of her to give these to us.”
You take the fish skewer from Paimon and continue to lock your gaze onto the moonlit horizon. Now that Paimon was eating, it was at least quiet. You exhaled a long sigh of relief. The stress of your day melting away and the tension in your shoulders loosening into your spine. It was perfect, almost perfect.
You watch the full moon lift itself slowly into the night sky, it was magnificent and breathtaking. The super moon was larger that you’d anticipated, but you were not disappointed. However, the gentleman who invited you to watch this one of a kind event was nowhere to be seen. It was strange, he would never miss an event like this, even if he had seen it a few thousand times already.
“I wonder…” you ponder as you watch Paimon obliterate their skewer, “Maybe something came up tonight? He’s usually so punctual.”
“Mr. Zhongli? Paimon hasn’t seen Zhongli anywhere, and Paimon flew through the whole harbour.”
“Really? That’s so weird. Maybe there was emergency at the funeral parlour? I cant think of another reason as to why Zhongli wouldn’t show up after inviting me.”
It was as if the timing of events could not get more coincidental. From across the pier, you spot Hu Tao furiously waving her hand to you.
“Should I wave back?” You mumble and give the distant Hu Tao a small wave.
That wave must’ve set Hu Tao off because she immediately started dashing towards you. It’s honestly quite intimidating. Her speed was similar to that of chasing Qiqi around the harbour, and you felt as if she was going to knock right into you.
“TRAVELLER.” Hu Tao screeches.
She comes to a full stop right in front of you, letting you feel the windy aftershock as it blows through your hair. You look up and see an out of breath Hu Tao, however, she looked a little more off than usual.
Of course, she still had her signature outfit and hat, but her nails were absent of the black polish, her hair was mangled, and her eyes were tinted in blatant distress.
“Good evening Hu Tao, how are you today-“
“Where’s Zhongli? Is he with you?” She interrupts you in a panic.
“-okay ignore my question entirely that’s fine.”
Hu Tao looked like she was going to pull out her hair at any second. “Please Traveller, didn’t you two plan to watch the super moon together? Where is he? I’ve been trying to get a hold of him all day. He didn’t come to work today at all and I’m really worried.”
You pat your hand to the ground next to you for Hu Tao to sit down. She almost melts as she sits down beside you, holding her hands to her head.
“Hu Tao,” you hesitate before continuing, “are you alright? I’m sure Zhongli has his reasons to disappear for a day.”
She looks up at you, trying to contain her frustration. “That’s the thing! I’m not alright! He’s been acting super off these past few days, and then he suddenly disappeared. If he was dead it wouldn’t be a big deal ‘cause I can still contact him, but no one has seen him after he was acting strange.”
You tilt your head in confusion. You had thought Zhongli was fine when he talked to you a few days ago, but now that Hu Tao mentions it, he had been acting a little off. You just couldn’t quite put your finger on it.
Your curiosity flicked on like a switch, and so did your concern for both Hu Tao and Zhongli.
“Mr Zhongli disappeared? Paimon thinks he might just be doing the same thing he did when ‘rex lapis’ died. Still, Paimon can’t help but feel worried. We have to go look for him.” Paimon jitters frantically.
“You’re right.” You shoot up from your sitting position and stand facing the illuminating moonlight. Hu Tao shakily gets up as well, staring at the moon as if it were her new calming mechanism.
You put your hand on her shoulder and smile. “Don’t worry, we’ll search for Zhongli. As long as that moon is in the sky, I promise you we will find him.”
“He’s brushing off on you.” Hu Tao laughs, “You’re starting to really sound like him.”
Paimon flies ahead, urging you to come and search the harbour. You take one last look at Hu Tao. “Looks like the investigation starts now. You should rest, Hu Tao. You must’ve been so stressed that you haven’t been taking care of yourself. You really deserve a good rest.”
“Thanks Traveller, I’ll play blackjack with some ghosts until I fall asleep.”
Classic Hu Tao, always doing something strange. You nod to her then take off to look for the missing Zhongli.
You and Paimon decide to start jogging in order to search the harbour thoroughly. However, Paimon can’t really jog, so they just float beside you.
As you search the main harbour, your awareness seems to have doubled. This was different than a normal daytime in Liyue Harbour. Maybe it was the light from the super moon, or the way the night transforms the city, but your attention to your surroundings became all the more real. You examined every small detail, from the intricate designs on the lanterns, to the assorted silk flowers that have just newly blossomed. The main shops were all closed, but there were plenty of stalls to make up for it. You wanted to stop for a second and admire the food being cooked, the clothing being sold, and all the unique materials situated at every stall. It was all so surreal, the dim lit hues of oranges, yellows, reds, and the odd green highlight made the harbour look hazy. As if Liyue was enveloped in a thick fog of serenity, your mind’s panic began to soften.
While you were blinded by the calmness of Liyue’s night city, you fail to see the tall man sprinting straight towards you.
With a loud bang, both you and the man crash into each other and fall onto the embroidered ground.
You wince and rub your head in pain, the aftershocks causing your vision to blur. Even if you were paying attention to where you were running, he most definitely was not.
“Ouch…that hurts.”
That voice, it sounds so familiar. You allow eyes to adjust to the dim lighting and look forwards to see none other than fatui harbinger Childe himself.
Childe opens his eyes and sits upright, his heavy gaze brightening a tiny bit from recognizing you. “Traveller! Oh it is so good to see you! How’ve ya been?” He waves enthusiastically and helps you up from the ground. “If you’d like another rematch because you know Im gonna absolutely kick your ass, you’re gonna have to wait. I’m looking for someone right now.”
Despite his suffocating charm, Childe looks as bad, if not worse than Hu Tao. There are dark circles under his ocean eyes, his hair is frazzled, he’s missing his earring, and his gloved are absent from their usual spot.
“You’re looking for someone?”
“Yeah, OH by the way~,” He strings out the word ‘way’ as if he were a toddler, “Speaking of looking for someone, I was wondering if you’ve seen a certain handsome man walking around here.”
You scrunch your eyebrows, is he high?
“Handsome man other than myself, I should clarify. You know, the one with black hair, long ponytail, broke as hell, kinda gives you dragon vibes?” He stares at you wide-eyed and tilts his head slowly.
“Zhongli?”
“Yes!” Childe snaps his fingers, placing his hands on his hips. “Zhongli, Zhongli…where could he be. Hey that rhymed.”
You point to Childe with a surprised expression. “What a coincidence, I’m looking for Zhongli too. He didn’t come to watch the super moon with me.”
“Oh? Are we putting together an old man search party? Sweet.” Childe sighs, his expression growing somber, “To be honest, when I heard from Hu Tao that he went missing, I offered to help look immediately. I’ve been searching all day and haven’t even found a trace of him. It really worries me you know, Traveller? When someone just suddenly disappears like that without saying anything...” He pauses, “It really hurts a ton. I just hope he’s okay.”
You pat Childe on the arm and smile. “I’m sure he’s doing just fine. We’ll find him in no time. Don’t lose hope Childe, you’re a harbinger after all!”
Childe grins, “You’re right. If I can defeat 3 ruin guards in 15 seconds, then I can definitely find one geo man in the slow nation of Liyue.”
Childe looks up towards the horizon and begins to run forward, turning back to you with a sweet smile. “Thanks Traveller! Good luck finding Zhongli! I’ll keep searching if you keep searching!”
And with that, Childe disappears from your sight.
Your mind begins to wander in distress, the hazy Liyue horizon could not calm you down now. It was one thing for Hu Tao to be stressed, but for Childe to be stressed as well? Zhongli is never like this, and he most certainly would never leave the people he cares about the most. No matter what, you had to find him. If not for your sake, then for everyone else’s. You just hope he didn’t pull the same stunt he did with Rex lapis.
“Paimon’s getting kinda worried….” Paimon flies around you frantically, “Do you think Zhongli faked another death and left us? Do you think Zhongli actually died? What if he doesn’t like Liyue anymore?! What if, what if-“
“Paimon.” You interrupt. “Getting worries isn’t going to solve anything. The best we can do is look for Zhongli. If he’s not in the harbour, he’s somewhere in Liyue. I don’t care if I have to search the seven nations to find him.”
That sounds awfully familiar to you.
It was almost if you have been searching for someone along those conditions as well. Swearing by your life to scour the seven nations to find them. Now, someone else you care deeply about has disappeared from your sight, and you have sworn to search the seven nations for them as well. Maybe you are destined to lose those you care about? Maybe it is fate that you will search tirelessly for them to from back.
However now’s not the time for sentiments, there is still much more of Liyue to search.
“Traveller Traveller!”
“What is it?”
Paimon flies in front of you with a smug expression. “Paimon has an idea.”
Uh oh.
You let Paimon drag you atop Qingyun peak, overlooking the Liyue skyline. You are so lucky to have waypoints, or else getting to the top of this mountain would take days in itself.
The view on the top was gorgeous. You usually spent your time fighting hilichurls or stopping treasure hoarders, but you never spent time to just stop and watch.
The south held beloved Liyue harbour in its grasp. The super moon still shone brightly alongside the golden harbour, illuminating the sky with the stars as if the sun had split into a trillion pieces. Over to the north, you can just barely make out the silhouette of Mondstandt, the city of freedom. Much of your time is spent in monstandt, and the city’s inhabitants are always welcoming. West was surrounded by a range of mountains, and the east was home to the wangshu inn. A towering tree surrounded by the crystal blue ocean was turned into a friendly inn for weary travellers, rich noblemen, and everything in between. It even inhabited Xiao, Liyue’s smallest killing machine.
“The view from up here is beautiful, but” you turn to Paimon, who is flying around the top of the mountain like a lost hummingbird, “Why did we come here?”
Paimon stops in their tracks and points to the Wangshu inn excitedly. “That’s our reason!”
“Then why didn’t we just, I don’t know…go there instead?”
“Let Paimon explain! We don’t need to go the Wangshu inn…if the Inn comes to us!”
“What.”
“You just call his name and…”
You smack yourself in the head, resting your other hand on your hip. “Is this about Xiao?”
Paimon snaps their fingers and winks at you, flying to the edge of the mountain in the direction of the inn. “Bingo! Xiao is like Zhongli’s son, if anyone knows where Zhongli ran off to, it would definitely be Xiao!”
“Hm, I suppose you have a point for once.”
“For ONCE?!”
“Sorry sorry.” You chuckle, “However, I thought Xiao would come to wherever I am. Was the mountain grind really necessary?”
Paimon doesn’t respond, but a flustered expression creeps up on their face.
You sigh and turn to the inn, admiring the serene horizon before closing your eyes and filling your mind with thoughts of the small adeptus, calling him within your head. “Xiao…”
“What is it.”
You turn your head suddenly to see Xiao standing behind you with his arms crossed. But the looks of it, he seems very annoyed.
“Xiao! You’re here.”
Xiao scowls, “Well yeah, you called didn’t you?”
Paimon squeals in excitement and swirls Xiao frantically. “It worked it worked! Paimon knew traveller could do it!”
Xiao furrows his brow, “What is this child doing? And why did you call? It’s the middle of the night.”
“Actually I just wanted to ask you a question.” You smile at him, to which he does not reciprocate.
“That’s it? A question?” Xiao let’s out a small yawn before continuing. “It’s so late out I thought it was important.”
Your head hangs low as you stare at the ground, the memories of what has happened tonight flooded back to you. “It is important, Xiao. I figured you’d be the only person who really knew.”
Xiao’s expression numbs down into something more gentle as he sighs, “Is this about Morax?”
“Yeah!” Paimon exclaims, “Hu Tao and Childe have been so worried, Traveller and Paimon too! You have to know where he is! He can’t just leave…”
“You’re right, Paimon. I do know where he is.” Xiao unfolds his arms, resting them by his side and walks over to stand beside you. “I am also deeply concerned for him, but thankfully he has not left Liyue. He’s just…resting, out in Guili plains. If you really want to go see him, I will not stop you. If anything, you’d be able to get through to him.”
“Huh? What’s Zhongli doing in Guili Plains?! Isn’t it just a big flower field?”
Xiao walks over to the edge of the cliff, staring off to the inn. “I cannot tell you that, you will have to find out for yourself. Safe travels, if you need anything, just call my name.”
“Thank you Xiao.”
Xiao gives you one last nod and then disappears into a billowing cloud of dark mist, as if he were never here to begin with.
“Xiao said he’s at Guili plains, so that’s where we go!” Paimon flies over to the other side of the cliff, pointing down to a gorgeous canyon enveloping large fields and meadows.
“That settles it.” You sigh and turn the other way, admiring the now slowly descending super moon. The other side of the cliff was still entranced in a moonlit haze, while the area around the Wangshu Inn and Monstandt will face daybreak soon.
“We still have a few hours, time to go get Zhongli.”
-End of Part one.
(I hope you sincerely enjoyed part one of this little series! I wrote this a month or so back when school had not taken and devoured my soul. I unfortunately cannot play genshin for the time being in order to study….however, more importantly, I was able to finish and post this new story. Thank you for all the kind words, it truly means much to me. Stay tuned for part 2! It truly is a tear jerker.)

An appreciation post for Razor because he needs it.
Well this is quite unfortunate. There are no Razor tags… Oh well. I am going have to make some and post this regardless.
As you may or may not know, September 9th (today as of right now) is Razor’s birthday. Happy birthday to him! I do not feel like Razor gets enough attentions and love he deserves. An example being the lack of tags for him. Razor has an unforgettable personality and his gameplay is all the more enjoyable. From when I obtained Razor, to this day, I still use him. His story is tragic but unique and his vision story is probably one of the most melancholic stories in genshin. I honestly find him quite adorable.
One final happy birthday to our favourite Wolvendom boy! Razor absolutely deserves the love and appreciation!
(I wonder why people don’t like Razor…is it because they believe he’s a furry? Is it because of his speech? He’s so precious why would anyone dislike him? Well, everyone has their reasons I suppose.)
Have a wonderful day Traveller!

Sea Lord.
Summary: You have gifted the claymore users the most priceless item you could ever obtain…The Luxurious Sea Lord.
Characters: Diluc, Razor, Noelle, Eula
Disclaimer I suppose: This is a strange post… but I guess I enjoy posting when it involves strange genshin shenanigans
So I’m sure you all have seen the new claymore to come in the patch 2.1 fishing event.
Tumblr media
Very luxurious you are, sea lord.
This may be old, but a reoccurring thought passed my mind and I figured I should write it out. Enjoy.
Diluc
- Diluc would be extremely confused, but he would hardly question you on it. After all, his brother is Kaeya…poor Diluc has seen much worse. He would reluctantly accept it however, and use it out of pity.
- At most, conversing with Diluc will only leave a deadpanned scowl on his face. The dark, highly concerned face he gives the drunk customers of the tavern.
“Hm? What is it Traveller?” Diluc turns his head to face you. “A gift you say?”
You nod excitedly and hold out your gift in front of him, while his expression grows more somber.
“A…fish.” He deadpans.
You look at the gift in confusion. It’s not just any ‘fish’, it’s a hard earned claymore from inazuma with a much more noble name.
Diluc stares at you and hopes that you are joking.“Oh the Luxurious sea Lord?” He tries his hardest not to be rude, even if this looked like something Klee would blast out of the ocean.
You smile and move the sea lord in his direction, to which he puts up his hands in refusal. You can tell he’s trying to be kind, but his usual scowl has gotten darker.
“I’m not sure I can accept this gift. I have done nothing to earn it.” Diluc shakes his head and nudges the sea lord back to you.
This was not any claymore that you could’ve crafted or found. You searched high and low. Climbed mountains and swam through oceans. You braved the nations, gods and monsters. You went to Inazuma, no one wants to go to Inazuma. Surely this was enough to be rewarded with the fruits of your labour. To earn the powerful luxurious sea lord.
You explain to Diluc how much this meant to you and all the work you went through just to get it. After all, you did all that just for Diluc.
“Is that so…”
Your eyes light up. If Diluc doesn’t say no, it’s obviously a yes. You hand him the sea lord and he stares blankly at it, then stares at you. The look on his face can only be described as highly disappointed, his signature expression.
“Traveller, I suppose you should not be around Kaeya so much.” Diluc mumbles, “I’m afraid his habits are rubbing off on you.”
He holds the sea lord in his hands. He’s both extremely concerned and impressed. The sea lord holds it’s own well and the tail is a very comfortable handle. Diluc decides it won’t be the end of the world if he were to use it. It would most likely keep that smile on your face.
“Well, thank you for the gift. I will make good use of it.”
*Later that evening, Diluc returns from a long day of fighting enemies. He places the sea lord on the counter….its fully cooked.*
Razor
- Upon giving Razor the gift, his first thought would be that you’ve given him food. It would take you much explaining to show that it is in fact a weapon, and not a chew toy.
- Still, Razor would understand it in his own way. He would take the gift (will still think it’s food) and it would take a little bit of time for his mind to put the pieces together.
You walk up to razor with the gift behind your back, in attempts to surprise him. It doesn’t work as Razor notices you from behind the trees almost immediately.
Razor runs up to you and waves happily. It’s almost as if you can see a wagging tail. “Hello, Friend! Here for hunting with Lupical?”
You shake your head. You wish you could go hunting with razor and his pack, but you have just eaten a big lunch and running would give you a nasty cramp.
“No? Then what brings you in Wolvendom? To talk?”
You shake you head again and tell Razor that you are giving him a gift because he has been a very supportive partner. You also want to thank him for accompanying you on your journey and helping you out.
“Gift? What is gift?” Razor tilts his head in confusion.
Here is your first hurdle. Explaining it to Razor despite the language barrier. You try and explain the concept of gifts by picking up a nearby Woolf hook from the ground. With slow and easy words accompanied by actions, you portray the act of giving a gift.
“Give to me? Like food? Like Vision?”
Close enough. You sigh and hold out the sea lord. It’s a miracle he still hasn’t figured out there was something behind your back.
“Food!” Razor beams. “You go hunting for me?”
He was partially right. You did in theory go “hunting” but it’s not something to eat. You tell him it’s not food or something edible.
“Not food?”
You hold your arm and flex it, to show that it’s not used for eating, but for combat. You then take out your sword and point to it. You point back and forth between you sword and the sea lord.
“For strength?” Razor ponders. “To protect?”
You show a thumbs up. You’re glad that Razor has understood you, and even more glad that he could learn a few new word and meanings from this conversation.
“Oh! Razor understand!” He moves his hands excitedly to visualize what he means. “Food for energy. Energy for hunt. Hunt to protect you.”
Well he’s not quite there yet, but you have to give him credit for using words much more than he usually does. Even if he doesn’t understand the true intentions of your gift just yet, he has at least improved a large amount on his speaking abilities.
You give the sea lord to Razor and he takes it excitedly. To your surprise, Razor suddenly takes a big bite out of the sea lord, leaving you in shock.
“Mmmm. Very tasty. Klee friend give me food like this too.”
He just bit a chunk off the claymore you put your blood, sweat and tears into obtaining. To say you were in horror would be an understatement. Still, you can tell Razor appreciates the gift.
“Big fish, strong fish. Like weapon.” Razor hold the sea lord in his hands and studies it carefully. “Like sword. Can I use?”
He got it! It finally clicked in his head and you couldn’t be happier. You nod joyfully and tell him he can use it whenever he wants.
“Thank you Friend. I will use to protect my lupical.”
*Razor continues to use it frequently for combat and hunting. Soon enough…Bennett and Klee are asking you for one too*
Noelle
- Noelle wouldn’t care if it were fish, a dustbin, or a spoon. She would not think she deserves a gift. Noelle is much too modest, and puts her work as a maid and a knight of favonius above anything else.
- After much convincing, Noelle would accept the luxurious sea lord. However she would try and repay you as much as possible with her specialty pancakes and maybe a midday tea break.
You come across Noelle on your way to the favonius headquarters. You were planning to give Noelle the gift there, but since you’ve met her on the way, now is a good time.
Noelle waves at you and bows gracefully. “Oh, good evening Traveller! What brings you here? Need me to do anything?”
You shake your head. It was nothing like that. You tell her you wanted to give her a gift. She has done so much for you and the team throughout your journeys. You thought you should give her a new claymore as a thank you.
“Oh a gift? For me?”
You nod and tell her it’s only a small fraction of kindness when compared to all she doesn’t for everyone.
“This is very kind of you.” Noelle bows apologetically. “But I am happy just by accompanying you on your journey.”
She is much too kind. Sometimes even to a fault. You tell her it’s important and that you insist she accepts the gift. You went out to get the best claymore for Noelle. This is meant for her.
“You insist? But traveller you’ve already done so much for me. I couldn’t possibly-“
You plop the gift in Noelle’s hands. The confusion on her face settles down into a kind smile.
“Oh it’s a fish?”
You correct her kindly. It’s not just a “fish” it’s a noble and priceless claymore obtained from the depths of Inazuma.
“My apologies, the Luxurious sea Lord.” She chuckles.
Noelle looks down at the sea lord for a long while. There was no concern, disappointment or disgust in her eyes. Her face was painted with a genuine smile as she stares down at your gift in adoration.
“You really didn’t need to traveller. A maid must do what a maid must do, gifts and materialism is not something I highly favour.”
Noelle looks to you with a slightly sorrow gaze. She clenches the sea lord ever so slightly while speaking that you afraid she was going to puncture the claymore.
“I am truly flattered. You went through all this trouble just to get me a new claymore.” Her voice cracks a little while speaking.
You did go through a lot to get the Luxurious sea lord, but it was worth it just to give to Noelle. She more than deserves it. You tell her how important the sea lord is to you and all you’ve done to get it. You explain that it would mean even more if she accepts the gift because you went to obtain it just for her.
“Oh dear…Thank you so much. I am truly grateful, Traveller. Now come, I will brew you a warm cup of tea and bake you some of my special pancakes. It’s the least I can do for you.”
*While you have tea and pancakes with Noelle, she keeps the Luxurious Sea Lord on a sword stand, as if it were her most prized possession.*
Eula
- Eula being Eula, her first thought about giving a Lawrence clan member a large fish, would be that you are mocking her. She would believe the reason you’re giving her a fish is to mock her abilities and of course, she will demand vengeance.
- When she does find out you’re not mocking her, she’ll happily accept the gift, while complimenting herself in between words. To repay you, she would most likely invite you to the tavern.
“Traveller! It has been long since I’ve seen you last. Have you been practicing on the favonuis blade work that I so generously devoted my time to teach you?”
You freeze. You were on your way to find Eula to give her a gift, but it seems like she has found you first. You didn’t think she would remember the bladework lessons, but you have no excuse for not practicing.
Eula raises her voice and walks closer to you. “You have not? Mark my words traveller I will have vengeance-“
You stop her suddenly and tell her you didn’t have time to practice because you were busy getting her a gift. A most priceless one at that.
“What? A gift? For me?” She raises her eyebrows skeptically. “Hmph. I believe I can look past the vengeance just this once. Because you have so gracefully given me a gift.”
You smile and drop the sea lord into her hands. Her looks of happiness dissipates quickly and morphs into an angry and disgusted scowl.
“Is this a joke?”
She holds the sea lord by its tail and raises her voice more than she already has. She’s filled to the brim with anger and you can’t quite figure out why.
“Traveller. Are you doing this to mock me? To mock my clan? Have you given me a basic fish to mock my position as a knight? How dare you. As a descendant of the aristocratic Lawrence clan and a justified member of the Knights of favonius. Mark my words, you will pay. I will have my vengeance!” Eula fumes in rage.
You shakily tell her it’s a misunderstanding. You would never mock the Lawrence clan, let alone a member of the Knights of Favonius. You tell her of all that you had gone through, al the fishing battles you fought in the nation of Inazuma.
“Oh? You’re being serious? This is a weapon to use instead of my claymore?”
You cautiously correct her, making sure not to anger her again.
“The luxurious sea lord?” Eula hold the sea lord like she would hold her claymore. It is quickly coated in a thin layer of frost, showcasing that cryo energy can move through it.
After studying the sea lord’s features carefully, Eula nods in content. Thank goodness she likes the gift now. “The name and visual of this mighty fish is worthy of my possession. I only assume it can hold the power of my vision. Thank you, Traveller.”
You nod at her and wave goodbye, the setting sun shone behind Eula in a golden light. It was getting late and you both had places to be. Well, you were going to sleep early, obtaining the Luxurious sea lord was extremely exhausting.
Before leaving, Eula turns to you and smiles.
“Would you care to join me at the tavern? I should repay you for your deed. I was only going to invite Amber, but seeing as you have gifted me something so priceless, I believe she will not mind.”
*As you accompany Eula to the tavern, Amber constantly asks about the sea lord and where it came from. It seems like she is intrigued by it’s beauty as well. You consider finding a sea lord bow for her too.*
(I sincerely hope you enjoyed this little headcannon/imagine I put together. If this post does well and if it is requested of, I will do a follow-up post with the other 4 claymore users. Have a wonderful day.)
Note: So strange…there aren’t any Razor tags, I apologize.

You are not alone.
(Anemo Boys dorm)
Modern!Au
Characters: Xiao, Venti, Kaedehara Kazuha, Aether
Characters mentioned: Zhongli, Bennett, Diluc
Disclaimer?: this was in fact, a very unhinged fic idea. I ended up writing this as I could not sleep at night. So, in spite of that, it is a little bit all over the place.
The still moonlight peeked through the gentle curtains. The soft scent of popcorn and soda lingered as if it were reminiscing the past moments. One after the other, each one had dozed off in a calm slumber as their sleeping faces were scattered around the room. The open windows blew past a refreshing breeze, letting the room enclose itself in the most peaceful night they’ve had in a long time.
Xiao sat atop a bedside table, examining the empty ramune soda bottle in his hand. He shook the marble inside gently and watched it swirl around the glass rims. He was careful not to make much sound. After all, the others were snoring as soundly as sheep.
For some reason, he stirred awake. Just hours ago, he was able to forget and smile contently. However, his memories had seeped back into his mind.
Xiao placed the ramune bottle on the carpet floor, where many other soda bottles resided. He leaned his head back against the wall and closed his heavy eyes, feeling all his painful memories once again taint his happiness.
It was if the gentle breeze had picked up suddenly. The beige curtains blew aggressively in the wind and Xiao could feel his hair swaying rapidly.
His friends were only asleep, but Xiao felt alone. So very alone. He hated this feeling. He hated the quiet and silent emptiness that accompanied his loneliness. He desperately wanted to sleep as well, so maybe he could wake up to see them awake and happy.
Xiao let out a shaky sigh. He was so entranced in his thoughts, that he had not realized the tears tricking down his cheeks. He felt a lump in his throat and heavy pain in his chest.
This was different than his anger. He was not angry at his friends, or even at himself. He was not angry at Venti, who had passed out from drinking even when he told him to stop. He was not angry at Kazuha, who tried cooking and failed so much that the smoke alarm went off twice. He was not angry at Aether, who did not tell him that they were watching a horror movie when Xiao believed it was a comedy movie night.
He was just sad. That was the best way to describe it.
In these types of situation, he would usually blow off steam or distract himself, but there was nothing here. So, without thinking, Xiao began to sob.
Xiao brought his hands up to cup his face, his fingers’ detouring the path of tears. He felt like he was being enveloped in a thick darkness. Afraid and alone again. Was this his fate? Was he doomed to always feel this way?
Suddenly, the raging wind shut off with a slight *click*.
Xiao lifted his head and opened his eyes, tears still falling like raindrops.
“Xiao? Are you alright?” Venti stood beside Xiao as he picked up the empty soda bottles and popcorn bags from the floor.
“I’m,” Xiao sniffed. “I’m fine.”
Venti clicked his tongue and lifted his eyebrow at him. “Well obviously not. You don’t have to tell me what’s up if you don’t want, but at least get into bed and try to sleep. Crying in bed is much better!”
Venti leaned forward and wiped away Xiao’s tears with his pyjama sleeve.“I’m kidding I’m kidding. No need to stare at me like that.”
“It’s late, why are you awake?” Xiao croaked.
“I have this terrible hangover. My headache was killing me so I thought I’d clean up a little bit.”
“What about Aether and-“
Before Xiao could finish, his eyes dropped to the vacant floor, Aether and Kazuha were nowhere to be seen.
“Oh those two?” Venti sighed. “They woke up not too long ago. Not really sure what they’re doing but I think they’ll be back soon.”
Just then, Kazuha peeked his head to Venti and Xiao.
“Good morning Xiao! I heard from the wind that you were having trouble falling asleep?”
Kazuha walked towards them with two cups of hot milk in his hands. Aether followed not long after, with a cup of milk and a cup of what smelled like ginger tea.
“Here Venti, for your headache.”
Venti pouted. “But I don’t like tea! Did Zhongli give you these awful remedies?”
Aether placed the cup of tea into Venti’s hands. “No. Ginger tea is proven to help relieve headaches. Zhongli telling me about it was just a bonus.”
Kazuha crouched down to get to Xiao’s eye level and carefully studied his face. “If I may ask, were you crying?”
Xiao kept his mouth shut. There was nothing more embarrassing than crying in front of others.
Venti shook his head at Kazuha and reluctantly took sips of his tea. Every time he took a sip, he made a very dramatic disgusted expression to Aether.
“Okay I get it. You don’t like the tea.”
“Oh no that’s not it.” Venti took another sip. “The tea is great, I’m just mad you didn’t get me a beer.”
“You’re hungover…”
Between the bickering and conversations, Xiao managed to smile. This was what he missed. He missed Aether, and Venti, and Kazuha.
“Xiao, please drink some warm milk. It always helps me sleep when I am stressed or afraid about what I unwillingly remember.”
Kazuha handed the mug to Xiao and it instantly warmed xiao’s hands. The sudden feeling of warmth made Xiao want to burst into tears once again. However, he kept his composure.
“How did you know that I’m-“
“Let’s just say that I have some experience in that area.” Kazuha winked and sat crossed legged on the ground, taking occasional sips of his milk while getting lost in his own thoughts.
“Classic Kazuha, zoned out to think of more poems.” Venti chuckled as he turned to Xiao, who looked even more distressed than before. “Are you sure you’re alright buddy?”
The lump caught in Xiao’s throat somehow would not go away, and it was starting to annoy him. He got off the table and stood to face Venti, eyes full of unimaginable sorrow.
Xiao kept quiet, and Venti understood that.
Aether, who was standing beside Venti, watched as the two stared at each other. It was as if they were communicating, however the room remained silent.
Kazuha had sensed the tension and stood up to examine what was happening. To his, and everyone’s surprise, Xiao suddenly leaned his head onto Venti and hugged him.
The moment Xiao hugged Venti, he burst out into tears once again, sobbing loudly.
Venti said nothing and hugged him back, which in turn, caused Xiao to cry a little more.
Xiao reached his hand out and searched around until he found Aether’s sleeve, then pulled it ever so slightly.
“I think Xiao wants you and Kazuha to get in on the hug too.” Venti said softly.
Aether smiled and hugged both Venti and Xiao. Then did Kazuha, until all four of the boys were wrapped in each others’ warming embrace.
As Xiao cried for what seemed like hours, the others listened quietly, and shed some tears of their own. They made sure to not let go of Xiao, and continued to hold him in their embraces.
The room was filled with tears and the sound of sobs, and the dim moonlight reflected off of Xiao’s amber eyes. It was then that he let go of Venti. He wiped away his tears swiftly with his sweater sleeve as the embarrassment started to settle in.
“I-“ Xiao tried to speak, but his voice was hoarse and sore from crying.
“You don’t need to say anything, we understand.” Aether put his on Xiao’s shoulder and game him a quick pat. “But anyways, it’s getting lighter outside. We should all really sleep.”
“I second that. After all,” Kazuha reached into his pocket, checking his debatably vintage phone. “It’s 4 in the morning. We all have many things to do later today.”
Aether smacks himself on the head. “Yes! We do! I’m supposed to meet with Bennett later today to study! I’m gonna clock out today, sleep well guys!”
With that, Ather disappeared to his and Kazuha’s bedroom.
“I believe that is also my calling as well. I wish you two a good morning. Sleep well Xiao, sleep well Venti.” Kazuha haves sleepily and walks to in the footsteps to where Aether had previously run off to.
The room consisted of only Venti and Xiao, who’s shirts were soaked in tears.
Venti nudged Xiao on the arm. “Are ya feeling better? Got everything out of your system?”
“Yes.” Xiao nodded with his gaze facing the floor and mumbled, “Thank you.”
“No need to thank me. I only want to help you. Also, I just want to say, I know that I don’t know all of what you’ve been through.” Venti placed his hand on Xiao’s shoulder, gazing at him kindly. “But you are not alone. Remember that me, Kazuha, and Aether will always be here. I don’t want you to feel lonely, because you have us, okay?”
Xiao’s eyes regained mist again as he nodded.
The unusual wind had picked up again. The slight howls crashed against the window, as well as leaves and dust. The brisk moonlight was partially covered by passing clouds and the stars were just barely visible, but the city was never a good place for stargazing anyways.
“I think we should call it a night. You must be tired and I have some serious Diluc annoying to do in the afternoon.”
Xiao brought out a slight smile. “Yes. We should sleep now. I hadn’t realize earlier that I needed to rest too.”
“That settles it! Goodnight Xiao. Sleep well my friend.” Venti grinned and hopped onto the top bunk bed nestled in the corner of the room.
In no time at all, small snores could be heard from Venti. A truly remarkable talent to be able to sleep so quickly.
Xiao stares at his own bed, the bottom bunk. He had no problem with it, in fact he liked it much more than a top bunk. As Xiao climbed into his messy bed, he stared up at the wood for a good while until his eyes started to give away his fatigue.
Before his every deepening slumber, Xiao’s voice became clear enough to speak “Goodnight Venti.”
End.
(To whoever is reading this, I would like to say the same to you. If you ever feel lonely, just remember Venti’s words. You are loved and worthy of the love, even if you do not think so. I may just be a stranger, but I care about you deeply. I wish you all a pleasant and wonderful day.)

Scaramouche truly infuriates me.
I’m not really sure why, but a murderous child with an oversized sombrero to cover up his half-bowl hairstyle ignites a different kind of anger.
I don’t mean to offend anyone. Scaramouche fans, please don’t come at me.
