if youre aromantic you should totally read this post (ple ase)

damn, im really stumped.

this issue has been bugging me for like almost 8 months to be specific

so like

in my tumblr bio, i say im aroace but im not 100% sure about that

i definitely know im asexual but the aromantic part is where i hit a brick wall

romance does make me very uncomfortable, both fictional and reality so i figured "hey i might be romance repulsed" and ive stuck with that label for a while

but idk if my romance repulsion stems from trauma and i just dont wanna be hurt and used anymore or if i genuinely am romance repulsed and simply just think dating is gross

for a brief background, in the last 2 relationships that i was in, i was abused and manipulated and also sexually harassed and my ex partner was racist and called me racist things

this is where my romance repulsion started

i even started hating my favorite ships cuz of my romance repulsion

and i dont like being friends with people who r in romantic relationships

and if i find out you are in a relationship then i will not be your friend anymore

just. in my perspective, knowing that someone is probably in a healthy relationship and is happy in their relationship, something i never had before, makes me disgusted and not wanna be around people

it kinda feels like projection but im still not sure

so, the burning question is,

am i genuinely aromantic or is my romance repulsion just a trauma response?

if any aromantic person can respond, thatd be great, thank you
